Transcript
- 0:01Announcer: It's time now to get the hell out of your life.
- 0:04Announcer: A weekly broadcast with real people, sharing real struggles, and offering real hope.
- 0:10Announcer: Today's show will encourage, inspire, and empower you to face life's challenges with a bold confidence and renewed hope now.
- 0:22Ron Meyers: Hello, my friends.
- 0:24Ron Meyers: It is so good to be with you today.
- 0:27Ron Meyers: Happy holidays.
- 0:28Ron Meyers: I hope everyone is enjoying themselves.
- 0:32Ron Meyers: And those of you that perhaps are listening that have not had a joyous Christmas, you don't go to church, you don't really believe in Jesus, you've kind of heard a story about him, but you really don't understand the true gift, the present of Jesus to the world.
- 0:49Ron Meyers: So what I did today for a show, I created it just for you.
- 0:55Ron Meyers: I assembled a lot of comments and questions that I have received over the last few years.
- 1:02Ron Meyers: I put them into my AI program and let it come out with some questions from individuals, real hurts, real questions, a lot of curiosity about Jesus, and I'll answer them according to Scripture.
- 1:18Ron Meyers: I think you'll find them very encouraging.
- 1:20Ron Meyers: Why I think this is important is because for many years, friends, I lived on the island of misfit toys.
- 1:30Ron Meyers: That's right.
- 1:31Ron Meyers: I was sent to the island of misfit toys because I was weird.
- 1:36Ron Meyers: I was different.
- 1:37Ron Meyers: I had dreams.
- 1:38Ron Meyers: I knew God had a plan for me, but nobody understood me.
- 1:43Ron Meyers: So I had to develop a relationship with Jesus without the benefits of church or wise counsel because they always were telling me something that I had to do or clean up my act.
- 1:55Ron Meyers: Well, I couldn't clean up my act.
- 1:57Ron Meyers: I was a misfit toy.
- 1:58Ron Meyers: I needed somebody to help me leave the island of misfit toys.
- 2:03Ron Meyers: And one day I found Jesus.
- 2:05Ron Meyers: And not only did I find out that I wasn't a misfit toy, I found out that Jesus doesn't create misfit toys.
- 2:15Ron Meyers: Each one of us is uniquely designed with specific talents, skills, and abilities.
- 2:21Ron Meyers: So today, my show, well, I'm gonna have some fun.
- 2:25Ron Meyers: So why not grab a cup of coffee, maybe some eggnog, sit around the fire, or if you're in your vehicle listening, don't get distracted.
- 2:34Ron Meyers: Let's have some fun and hear about who this baby Jesus is.
- 2:39Ron Meyers: Why did he come to the world?
- 2:40Ron Meyers: And what's a Christmas miracle that you need?
- 2:43Ron Meyers: Let's start with my first AI questionnaire.
- 2:47Ron Meyers: His name is AI Alex.
- 2:50Alex: I don't know what to believe about Christmas.
- 2:52Alex: You are asking me to think that this miracle baby was born for me, really?
- 2:56Ron Meyers: Yes, really, Alex.
- 2:58Ron Meyers: The story of Christmas, it is truly miraculous and deeply meaningful.
- 3:04Ron Meyers: Christmas is about God stepping into human history in a way that had never happened before.
- 3:10Ron Meyers: Jesus, though he came as a fragile baby, was God Himself in the flesh, a miracle indeed.
- 3:17Ron Meyers: This wasn't just about the birth of a baby in a manger.
- 3:21Ron Meyers: It's about God's extraordinary love for you and all of humanity.
- 3:26Ron Meyers: Jesus came to reveal God's heart, to show you what love looks like, and most importantly, to rescue us by providing a way for us to be united with God forever.
- 3:39Ron Meyers: Through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus offers you forgiveness and a whole new life.
- 3:47Ron Meyers: It's not just a story of a baby, but the beginning of God's incredible plan to save us through his death and resurrection.
- 3:55Ron Meyers: This means that you are deeply loved and he came specifically to bring grace, forgiveness, and a forever relationship with God.
- 4:06Ron Meyers: Christmas is a beautiful reminder of how far God went to be with us and to make us his own.
- 4:16Ron Meyers: It's more than tradition, it's more than Christmas carols.
- 4:20Ron Meyers: It showcases the heart of God's love for you personally.
- 4:25Ron Meyers: If that's not the best kind of miracle, I don't know what is.
- 4:30Speaker 7: What's the big deal about his love when I don't even love myself?
- 4:34Ron Meyers: Alex, I get it.
- 4:35Ron Meyers: I grew up that way.
- 4:36Ron Meyers: I did not have a lot of love for myself, and it was never reinforced by my parents.
- 4:42Ron Meyers: But here's what we need to understand.
- 4:44Ron Meyers: And it can be tough to wrap our minds around God's love when we struggle with loving ourselves.
- 4:51Ron Meyers: But here is the most beautiful truth that you'll ever hear, Alex.
- 4:55Ron Meyers: God's love isn't based on your feelings or perceptions, it's based on who he is and what he's done for you through his son Jesus.
- 5:06Ron Meyers: God's love for you, Alex, is constant, unwavering, and unconditional.
- 5:11Ron Meyers: He doesn't love you because of what you've done, but because of who you are to him.
- 5:16Ron Meyers: You are his beloved creation.
- 5:19Ron Meyers: In Ephesians chapter 3, verses 8 and 19, Paul prays that we may grasp the enormity of God's love, the width, the length, height, and depth of it.
- 5:32Ron Meyers: It surpasses all knowledge.
- 5:35Ron Meyers: It's beyond comprehension.
- 5:37Ron Meyers: But when you believe in Jesus, you are given a new identity as a beloved and cherished child of God.
- 5:47Ron Meyers: He loves you so much that he sent Jesus to remove every barrier, every sin, and every ounce of shame or guilt.
- 5:55Ron Meyers: Romans chapter 8, verses 38 and 39 assures us that nothing, I mean nothing, can separate us from his love.
- 6:04Ron Meyers: So, Alex, learning to see yourself through his eyes as pure and loved and new is a journey.
- 6:13Ron Meyers: But know this: his love is the foundation, and from it you can begin to learn what it means to also love yourself as you are designed, created in his image.
- 6:27Ron Meyers: Alex, you're already enough and valued beyond measure.
- 6:31Ron Meyers: And his opinion of you is really the only thing that counts.
- 6:37Alex: I drink, I cuss, I chase women, and I like to party.
- 6:41Alex: So I am sure God wants to whap the crap out of me.
- 6:44Ron Meyers: Well, Alex, it might feel like God's ready to whap the crap out of you, but let me tell you the truth.
- 6:51Ron Meyers: The truth is quite the opposite.
- 6:54Ron Meyers: God isn't about punishment for believers.
- 6:57Ron Meyers: His focus is entirely on love and patience.
- 7:02Ron Meyers: Jesus already took any punishment we might deserve completely and fully on the cross.
- 7:10Ron Meyers: You can read about this in Romans chapter 8, 1 through 4.
- 7:14Ron Meyers: This means that God's not in the business of smacking you or me into submission.
- 7:22Ron Meyers: God's kindness is what leads us to turn around and embrace him, not out of fear of punishment.
- 7:31Ron Meyers: He desires what is truly best for you.
- 7:35Ron Meyers: And his way of showing this is not through force, but through grace.
- 7:39Ron Meyers: When you recognize, Alex, how profoundly loved you are by him right here, right now, exactly as you are, it opens up so much freedom to truly live in the purpose God created you to live in.
- 7:59Ron Meyers: This understanding of grace doesn't mean there's no call to change.
- 8:04Ron Meyers: Instead, his spirit begins working inside of you, Alex, shaping your desires and leading you to true fulfillment.
- 8:14Ron Meyers: Beyond the parties and the temporary highs, and in Titus chapter 2, verse 11 and 12, we see that God's grace teaches us to live self-controlled, upright lives, but it's always with his nurturing guidance, never a threat.
- 8:33Ron Meyers: Now let's take a question from A.I.
- 8:36Ron Meyers: Betty.
- 8:37betty: I often pray for change and attend church at Christmas, but nothing seems to happen.
- 8:42betty: Jesus feels distant and seems unaware of me.
- 8:46Ron Meyers: Oh, Betty, I can give you an amen to that.
- 8:49Ron Meyers: I've been there and done that.
- 8:51Ron Meyers: But let me tell you what I have discovered: that those feelings of distance or stagnations can be tough, especially when you're hoping for change.
- 9:01Ron Meyers: But here is the beautiful thing: Jesus is never distant from you.
- 9:07Ron Meyers: If you've put your trust in him, he's with you every moment because he lives in you.
- 9:12Ron Meyers: The feeling of distance often comes from our expectations or emotions rather than reality.
- 9:19Ron Meyers: The truth is, Betty, your union with Christ is unbreakable.
- 9:25Ron Meyers: Hebrews chapter 13, verse 5 confirms this.
- 9:29Ron Meyers: God isn't looking at your church attendance or your attempts to change as a measurement.
- 9:35Ron Meyers: He's deeply invested in a relationship with you based on grace, not your works or your actions.
- 9:43Ron Meyers: When it feels like nothing is happening, it might be a time for letting go of striving and resting in what Jesus has already done for you.
- 9:55Ron Meyers: Change is often internal and a process.
- 9:59Ron Meyers: Colossians chapter 2, verse 6 and 7 reminds us to walk in him, rooted and established in faith, already complete in him.
- 10:10Ron Meyers: This doesn't mean sitting back and waiting for magic.
- 10:14Ron Meyers: It's about trusting in his work, in his timing.
- 10:18Ron Meyers: God has a plan.
- 10:20Ron Meyers: Growth is about renewing your mind through truth, resting in his love and recognizing that you're enough just as you are.
- 10:30Ron Meyers: This is a process you're going through, Betty.
- 10:32Ron Meyers: And sometimes we're so focused on changing ourselves that we miss the adventure of discovering who we are in Christ.
- 10:42Ron Meyers: We are perfectly loved and accepted.
- 10:46Ron Meyers: Here's a comment from AI Bob.
- 10:49Bob: But God seems to bless the holy rollers and Bible-touting Christians who have their act together.
- 10:54Bob: I know because many of them remind me to wake up and smell the Holy Spirit.
- 10:59Ron Meyers: You got that right, Bob.
- 11:00Ron Meyers: Sometimes people come across as having it all together or as if they're experiencing more blessings because they appear more holy.
- 11:10Ron Meyers: But here's the steadfast truth: God doesn't play favorites based on our outward actions or apparent togetherness.
- 11:19Ron Meyers: His love and blessings aren't handed out based on performance or showiness.
- 11:25Ron Meyers: Remember the story of the prodigal son?
- 11:27Ron Meyers: It wasn't the seemingly together son that celebrated, but the one who returned to unconditional love.
- 11:36Ron Meyers: Luke chapter 15, verses 11 through 32.
- 11:40Ron Meyers: God sees your heart and he knows your journey.
- 11:43Ron Meyers: His spirit isn't directed by external measures, but by the genuine truth of his bond with you.
- 11:50Ron Meyers: The Holy Spirit is in every believer, fully, not parceled out, more to some and less to others.
- 11:57Ron Meyers: You're complete in Christ, Bob, lacking nothing.
- 12:01Ron Meyers: See Colossians chapter 2, verse 10.
- 12:04Ron Meyers: While others might seem to have it all together, remember that your walk with God is unique and deeply personal.
- 12:13Ron Meyers: Don't measure your walk by the walk of others.
- 12:17Ron Meyers: Embrace the truth.
- 12:18Ron Meyers: Don't get rattled by comparisons, and embrace the fact that you've got everything you need for a full and godly life.
- 12:28Ron Meyers: 2 Peter chapter 1, verse 3 clarifies this.
- 12:32Bob: I hear a guy on the radio telling me to have daily conversations and coffee with Jesus and to be honest and open, sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly.
- 12:43Bob: I have been doing that, and I have found peace and greater understanding about my destiny.
- 12:48Bob: Is that because of Jesus or just good coffee?
- 12:51Ron Meyers: All right, Bob, it sounds like you're starting to wake up and smell the Holy Spirit.
- 12:56Ron Meyers: While a great cup of coffee can undoubtedly lift the mood, the profound peace and understanding you're experiencing comes from your relationship with Jesus and the work of the Spirit in you.
- 13:10Ron Meyers: You see, when you open up and communicate honestly with God, you're engaging what's already a close and personal relationship.
- 13:20Ron Meyers: Jesus is always with you because he lives in you and he is attentive and he delights in your conversations.
- 13:29Ron Meyers: He's the source of every good thing you're experiencing.
- 13:33Ron Meyers: Philippians chapter 4, verse 7.
- 13:36Ron Meyers: That peace that surpasses all human understanding comes from him.
- 13:41Ron Meyers: 2 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 5 mentions testing to see if Christ is indeed in you.
- 13:50Ron Meyers: And what you are experiencing is his presence, affirming his love and truth in your heart.
- 13:57Ron Meyers: These are not just random and good feelings.
- 14:01Ron Meyers: They're the fruit of God's Spirit connecting deeply with your spirit.
- 14:06Ron Meyers: Continue in these conversations.
- 14:09Ron Meyers: It will allow you to see the life more from God's perspective, which naturally brings clarity about your journey and destiny.
- 14:19Ron Meyers: It's just not soothing words, it's the assurance of an unshakable bond with Jesus who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
- 14:34Ron Meyers: So, Bob, keep those conversations going.
- 14:37Bob: So are you telling me that little old me with all my problems, insecurities, and wild lifestyle, that baby Jesus was born for me?
- 14:46Ron Meyers: Yes, Bob, and now you're getting the picture.
- 14:50Ron Meyers: You've got it.
- 14:51Ron Meyers: That little baby Jesus came into the world for you, just as you are, with everything that makes you uniquely you.
- 14:58Ron Meyers: It's because he loves you deeply right here and now.
- 15:02Ron Meyers: And now he wants you to get wild and party about the Son of Man, the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
- 15:10Ron Meyers: And the birth of Jesus reflects the profound love God has for each one of us.
- 15:16Ron Meyers: He chose to enter our messy world to bring us unshakable hope in life.
- 15:22Ron Meyers: No matter what struggles, insecurities, or lifestyle you wrestle with, Jesus came to provide grace and truth.
- 15:31Ron Meyers: He wanted to bridge the gap that sin created, offering a relationship that's based on not what we do, but on what he's done for us.
- 15:42Ron Meyers: In Luke chapter 19, verse 10, Jesus puts it beautifully.
- 15:48Ron Meyers: For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
- 15:53Ron Meyers: That's all of us, Bob, needing rescue from our self-made prisons and worldly turmoil.
- 15:59Ron Meyers: He knew you beforehand and stepped into history to make sure you, Bob, were included in his loving plan.
- 16:08Ron Meyers: It's this incredible love, personal, intimate, and powerful relationship that transforms how we see ourselves and our lives.
- 16:19Ron Meyers: He isn't asking you to clean up first, he invites you to come as you are, trusting his finished work to take care of the rest.
- 16:29Ron Meyers: It's a delight to share with the world the birth of Jesus and how he has a plan for each and every one of us.
- 16:39Bob: I am goofy looking, don't have nice clothes, and am very shy.
- 16:43Bob: I might not go to church.
- 16:44Bob: Will that kick me out of club Christianity?
- 16:47Ron Meyers: Well, Bob, you're definitely coming up with a lot of excuses, but you will never get kicked out of club Christianity for any of the reasons you just mentioned.
- 16:58Ron Meyers: Remember, Christianity isn't a club you get kicked out of based on your appearance, clothes, or shyness.
- 17:05Ron Meyers: It's a relationship with Jesus.
- 17:07Ron Meyers: It's about what he has done for you, not about your fashion or your social status.
- 17:12Ron Meyers: Bob, God chose you, loved you, and made you his child through the work of Jesus.
- 17:18Ron Meyers: Ephesians chapter 1, verses 4 and 5.
- 17:20Ron Meyers: Your identity in Christ is rock solid and not dependent on how you look, what you wear, or even whether you attend church regularly.
- 17:31Ron Meyers: Church can be a great place for community and encouragement, but it's not a requirement for God's love.
- 17:38Ron Meyers: It's more about connecting with others who can support, uplift, and walk with you in this journey we call life.
- 17:46Ron Meyers: Jesus loves you completely and loves creativity in his creation.
- 17:52Ron Meyers: Goofy or shy, it's all part of his fantastic design.
- 17:57Ron Meyers: God's love and acceptance are permanent and come from the heart.
- 18:02Ron Meyers: So take hard in knowing that you are deeply known, loved, and embraced by him just as you are.
- 18:09Ron Meyers: Now here's a question from A.I.
- 18:12Ron Meyers: Lulu.
- 18:13LuLu: I have lost my husband, my kids live far away, and I am alone this Christmas and I hate it.
- 18:20LuLu: I am lonely and stay in my bed all day.
- 18:23LuLu: I could use a Christmas miracle.
- 18:25Ron Meyers: Lulu, I'm truly sorry to hear about your loss and the loneliness you're feeling, especially during the holidays.
- 18:32Ron Meyers: It's so hard to face this time of year when distance and loss seem magnified.
- 18:38Ron Meyers: But here's a comforting truth for you today.
- 18:41Ron Meyers: You're never truly alone.
- 18:43Ron Meyers: Jesus is with you, holding you even in the midst of sorrow.
- 18:48Ron Meyers: His presence is constant and he cares deeply about what you're going through.
- 18:53Ron Meyers: He promises to be close to the brokenhearted.
- 18:57Ron Meyers: And he understands every tear and every sigh.
- 19:04Ron Meyers: While it may not feel like it, reaching out to him can bring that sense of miracle you're longing for.
- 19:11Ron Meyers: He's your comfort, and you can talk to him about everything on your heart, big or small.
- 19:19Ron Meyers: In 1 Peter chapter 5, verse 7, we are reminded to cast all our anxieties on him because he cares for us deeply.
- 19:28Ron Meyers: Let that be a tender lifeline to your heart.
- 19:32Ron Meyers: God often works through community, even in small ways.
- 19:37Ron Meyers: Perhaps you can reach out to a local group, a church, or even a community center.
- 19:42Ron Meyers: And Lulu, if it brings peace, spend time reflecting on meaningful memories and know that God's Spirit fills that space with love and hope.
- 19:52Ron Meyers: Don't hesitate to share this need for a miracle with others, whether it's a friend, a pastor, or a counselor.
- 19:59Ron Meyers: You are loved more than you know, and even from afar, others care about you.
- 20:06Ron Meyers: When I return, my Christmas gift to you.
- 20:14Announcer: You're listening to Get the Hell Out of Your Life with your host, Ron Myers.
- 20:19Announcer: Real stories, real struggles, and real hope.
- 20:26Ron Meyers: Can fear and peace coexist within you at the same time?
- 20:31Ron Meyers: Well, let's explore that today on Destined for Success.
- 20:35Ron Meyers: Fear and peace are diametrically opposed, and understanding their relationship is key to living in the freedom that Christ offers.
- 20:45Ron Meyers: In the new covenant, God calls us to experience his peace, which surpasses all understanding.
- 20:53Ron Meyers: This peace is rooted in the truth that we are fully forgiven, completely loved, and eternally secure in Christ.
- 21:01Ron Meyers: Fear often arises from forgetting or misunderstanding these truths.
- 21:06Ron Meyers: First John 4 18 reminds us that perfect love casts out fear.
- 21:13Ron Meyers: Because fear involves punishment.
- 21:15Ron Meyers: And as believers, we know that Jesus has taken all punishment for our sins.
- 21:21Ron Meyers: So we don't need to fear God's anger or judgment.
- 21:25Ron Meyers: While life circumstances can make us feel anxious, we are encouraged to bring our worries to God in prayer, trusting Him to provide peace and comfort.
- 21:36Ron Meyers: The Holy Spirit within us reassures us of our secure position in Christ, helping us rest in his love and grace.
- 21:46Ron Meyers: So, friend, if you're feeling a mixture of fear and peace, it might be a sign to refocus on the truth of God's love and the finished work of Jesus.
- 21:57Ron Meyers: Remember, his peace is always available to you.
- 22:02Ron Meyers: And his spirit is there to guide you through any anxiety you might face.

- 22:20Announcer: And remember, you are destined for success with Jesus.
- 22:26Announcer: If you need something more out of life than what you've already experienced.
- 22:29Announcer: If you need a new start, a clean slate.
- 22:31Announcer: If you want to live life forever, you need God in your life.
- 22:34Announcer: If getting old has you depressed.
- 22:36Announcer: Growing up sometimes scares the daylights out of you.
- 22:38Announcer: If you want to know what the future holds, get in touch with the one who holds the future.
- 22:42Announcer: Stop wasting time and get a hold of God.
- 22:44Announcer: It's not about earning points by being good.
- 22:46Announcer: It ain't about some born church.
- 22:48Announcer: Not about working your way to heaven.
- 22:49Announcer: Finding God is not about following some group who claims to be the only way to God.
- 22:53Announcer: It's not about being religious.
- 22:54Announcer: It's not about religion.
- 22:56Announcer: It's all about God's only Son.
- 22:58Announcer: It's all about Jesus.
- 22:59Announcer: It's all about Jesus.
- 23:00Announcer: It's about Jesus Christ.
- 23:02Announcer: It's all about you.
- 23:03Announcer: It's all about you, Jesus.
- 23:08Announcer: Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
- 23:12Announcer: No one comes to the Father but by me.
- 23:14Announcer: Well, someday when I stand before God and he asks me, Why should I let you into heaven?
- 23:18Announcer: All that's gonna matter is if I knew Jesus or not, and that's what it's all about.
- 23:25Announcer: How do you get the hell out of your life?
- 23:27Announcer: Get on your knees and cry out to the Lord.
- 23:30Announcer: He hears you right where you are.
- 23:32Announcer: How to get the hell out of your life?
- 23:33Announcer: Well, you replace it with Jesus.
- 23:34Announcer: We gotta be born again, born of the Spirit, and that's by trusting Jesus Christ, turning from our sins and trusting Jesus.
- 23:40Announcer: How do you get the hell out of your life?
- 23:41Announcer: Oh gosh.
- 23:42Ron Meyers: Jesus.
- 23:43Ron Meyers: Jesus.
- 23:43Ron Meyers: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
- 23:45Ron Meyers: Turn to Jesus.
- 23:46Ron Meyers: The greatest day in my life, friends, was the day I got the hell out of my life.
- 23:52Ron Meyers: It was.
- 23:53Ron Meyers: I feel good.
- 23:54Ron Meyers: I look good.
- 23:56Ron Meyers: I think I do anyway.
- 23:57Ron Meyers: Not because of anything I do, because everything he does through me.
- 24:02Ron Meyers: I keep the stress away.
- 24:04Ron Meyers: I have some peace.
- 24:06Ron Meyers: I have some confidence in the things that he's doing in my life.
- 24:10Ron Meyers: And the most important thing that God has called me to do is to tell you you are fully accepted by Jesus.
- 24:20Ron Meyers: That's right.
- 24:21Ron Meyers: If you are a believer, you have it made.
- 24:25Ron Meyers: You've got it.
- 24:26Ron Meyers: You have eternity with Jesus.
- 24:28Ron Meyers: You can't lose it.
- 24:29Ron Meyers: You can't screw it up.
- 24:31Ron Meyers: We all stumble, but when we are faithless, he is faithful.
- 24:37Ron Meyers: Let me close out today's show with prayer.
- 24:40Ron Meyers: Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of Jesus this Christmas season.
- 24:45Ron Meyers: And for those that are struggling and they don't know what to believe, they feel like a misfit toy.
- 24:54Ron Meyers: They feel out of place in this world.
- 24:56Ron Meyers: Well, that's because they haven't met Jesus yet.
- 25:01Ron Meyers: Lord, let them feel your love.
- 25:03Ron Meyers: Hold them in the palm of your hands and reassure them that perfect love casts out all fear.
- 25:12Ron Meyers: And Jesus, you are that perfect fear.
- 25:16Ron Meyers: Touch us, inspire us, encourage us to become the person you created us to be.
- 25:22Ron Meyers: 2026, we declare is going to be our best year because we are going to walk by faith, not by sight, and we are going to strive each and every day to just rest in the finished works of Jesus and become a person of destiny.
- 25:44Ron Meyers: In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
- 25:47Ron Meyers: I'll be back next week with another inspirational episode of Get the Hell Out of Your Life available on your favorite podcast platform.
- 25:58Ron Meyers: In the meantime, remember this that I love you, Jesus loves you, and when you give Jesus your heart, you not only get the hell out of your life, but life gets good.
