- 0:46I'm listening to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Candy.
- 0:50Good morning till you out there listening Land glad to be here with you.
- 0:55It's a little rainy here in atlant Tell the eclipse brought in a little
- 1:00chill, a little spring rain. But that helps all of us out here,
- 1:06all of us Americans that live in those pollinated cities. One out of
- 1:11four people suffer from some type of allergy issue in our country, and those
- 1:19places that have, like in Atlanta, that really goes through the real four
- 1:26seasons. Sometimes around here it seems like it might be nine in Atlanta,
- 1:33But the pollen with the rain helps out and you know, so that little
- 1:38sleepy feeling you get, I mean it's high pollen. You don't need the
- 1:41news to wait. You don't have four cups of coffee and still trying to
- 1:46figure out why you lagging. It's the polm. You don't have to wait
- 1:51on the noon news to tell you the poland count up. And if they
- 1:53tell you the pollen count up and you still sleepy, day line, day
- 2:00line because it might not be up on they radar, but it might be
- 2:02blowing off of your car right into your signus. Isn't as why you're tired
- 2:07as your nose brings in air when that filter in your nose is working and
- 2:14it's not able to generate the air you need. Clearly that's the sleepy part.
- 2:21That's how you fall asleep. But big weekend here in Georgia. The
- 2:25eighty eighth Masters going on little rain delay down at Augusta, so we will
- 2:34see tea time was supposed to be right now, but they have pushed it
- 2:38back until around nine o'clock. A little bit after nine. I heard they're
- 2:45selling like a seventeen thousand dollars package and I was reading it. But if
- 2:52I go to the map, I want to be outside seeing the golf.
- 2:57You're selling me how I can go back to the clubhouse and have the amenities
- 3:00and all that. Then I could have stayed home and went to the social
- 3:05club. If I'm gonna go golf, I want to go, you know,
- 3:07seventeen thousand dollars. I should be ad a caddy, caddy for someone.
- 3:12You're telling you how I feel I should be able to caddy for someone
- 3:15for at least two holes. But you're telling me how back at the clubhouse
- 3:20it'll be chef cook meals and all that. But I'm inside and they're out
- 3:24there golfing. It's actually something I thought. The spectacle of the golf was
- 3:30what I wanted to say. Tiger's cooking the food easy. That's seventeen times.
- 3:34Yeah, it was like a seventeen dollars package. And I was like,
- 3:38no, not my sensibilities. I like to actually see what I'm watching.
- 3:42I don't get caught up in that. I know a lot of people
- 3:45do. And maybe it's because command you Gregg in the building, Big Kenny
- 3:49in the building. Maybe it's because I don't drink. I think some things
- 3:53miss mean because I don't really drink. And since I don't drink. I'm
- 4:00not like caught up in those areas for a long period of time. Well,
- 4:04I got I need the bar to hold me up kind of mentality.
- 4:10You know, sometimes you miss out if you don't actually do it. You
- 4:14won't get it going to a cigar bar if you don't smoke cigars well and
- 4:18sports chock. I think it's interesting that sometimes the way I see when you
- 4:24said they have a seventeen thousand dollars package, at first I got a little
- 4:27nervous, you know what I'm saying, because I was like, I remember
- 4:29them days. But a lot of people do that stuff because of the exclusivity.
- 4:34I'm where you can't go. They give you a little placard or they
- 4:38give you some sort of risk band, and I get my commemorative cup.
- 4:43So I'm not really a big drinker, but I'll carry this cup all day
- 4:46and people know that I was able to do the exclusive thing. Now,
- 4:53most people would go to a sporting event to actually watch the event, So
- 4:57I've never understood that either I'm gonna pay extra money to miss the event that
- 5:00I came to see, and uh, you know, maybe chef catered or
- 5:05chef prepared food is a you know, but I can only eat so much
- 5:10food anyway. It's not like I'm going to be there all day eating.
- 5:13So I've tried it, and that's how I know it's not for me,
- 5:18you know what I mean, I'm going to get one of these all inclusive
- 5:21everything, and I learned, like now this, I would have rather been
- 5:26watching the event. Yeah, the package drew me. Command you are you
- 5:29one of those excuse me when those exclusive area type guys. No, it's
- 5:39something I feel like I'm missing out on, like what the actual event is
- 5:44if I'm in this special VIP area, you know it's it says I,
- 5:50Oh, it's close by, like but I can't see. I came to
- 5:57watch the golf, I mean, and from seeing the picture like this looks
- 6:00like I've got to say that. Sportsjock, one of our listeners, Keith
- 6:06Ramsey said, sports Jock, Sir, you would be the largest caddy ever.
- 6:13Oh well, for seventeen thousand. You want to be noticed. I
- 6:18want to be noticed that you want somebody to see you, like, hey
- 6:23man, that dude Muster. I don't know where they got him, but
- 6:26it was most that the things that went along with it were things that took
- 6:29you away from the game the golf I was looking for the whole tournament.
- 6:34You're going to have front row lawn chair seating to each hole that you go
- 6:43to, because when you go to something like the Masters, what you don't
- 6:45do is what you may not realize is those galleries for a lot of places
- 6:49already kind of set. You have a couple come out there and each one
- 6:55of them have two chairs and they will go to four different holes or you
- 7:00know, and put down their chair so when they get to that hole,
- 7:05they had their front and center right. So some of the holes have stand
- 7:12So if you're telling me along with that, for the four or five days
- 7:15that regardless of which hole I moved to, I've got a premium view and
- 7:21a breath away from Tiger, then okay. But you're telling me how when
- 7:26you do feel like you need a break, you can walk back to the
- 7:30clubhouse with the smoke fired salmon. What is it with golfers that I mean?
- 7:38Because like a comedy shows, they do exclusive packages, but that comes
- 7:42with just like you say, all access to your backstage. You get a
- 7:46picture, there's you're sitting right in the front, if not somewhere in the
- 7:49wings it, but people usually pay that for closer, and this sounds like
- 7:57they're moving people away for more. Like the more you pay, the farther
- 8:01way you get. So I guess for a one hundred thousand dollars you could
- 8:03be back at home just watching on TV. Two or three games left here
- 8:07in the n b A regular season ends on Sunday. I went to back
- 8:15to back games here in Atlanta on Tuesday and Wednesday night. I tried to
- 8:22get the crew out last night, but they're busy, man, Big Kenny.
- 8:26I know being married. I was rolling the dice with him comanch because
- 8:33I know him. Being married is something that he has asked for permission at
- 8:37least three day notice a lot of spur of the moment. You're looking for
- 8:43him to do something on Wednesday, you need to contact him on Saturday before
- 8:50so he can get permission. I don't need permission to come up. I
- 8:54move. I moved freely, sir. I moved within the house in the
- 9:01movie. Now now I'm not gonna say she come home and I just be
- 9:05caught side laughing with the Hawks. I will said that hey going to the
- 9:11Hawks game. But if I'm available and want to go to Hawk game,
- 9:13I just go, but I was occupied that night. I had an event,
- 9:16so I wasn't able to make it. But no, I'm not one
- 9:20of them, like, hey, I can get some free tickets to this
- 9:24exclusive professional sporting event. I was hoping you let me go. No,
- 9:31no, I'm not that guy. But the Hogs laid an egg on both
- 9:35nights, double overtime game on Tuesday versus the Miami Heat last night losing after
- 9:45leading for most of the game against the Charlotte Charlotte Hornets. The teams,
- 9:50both of them, I don't know. I know the Hornets you know are
- 9:54not in the playoffs and not in the play INDs. The Atlanta Hawks are
- 10:00in the play I thought they would make a big effort to maybe not be
- 10:05in the tenth spot and try to get to the ninth part so at least
- 10:09they would get a home game. Yeah, you know, if you're in
- 10:16the tenth spot, that means that even if you win the first playing game,
- 10:20which will be against Chicago, so they know who the opponent is for
- 10:24the game. I thought they would try to win out get at least that
- 10:28first game home. Now it looks like they're kind of selling for the tenth,
- 10:33which means that they would have to beat go to Chicago, beat Chicago,
- 10:39and then go on the road and beat the loser of the Sixers heat
- 10:46game. That's their only path, So both games, if there are two
- 10:52games, there is definitely one, but two games put them on the road,
- 10:58and so basically to get a their season is over as far as home
- 11:01games, unless they actually make the playoffs and get that eight spot, and
- 11:07then that would be against Boston. Now who's number one in the East.
- 11:13Well, yeah it is now sports. You said I thought they would have
- 11:18tried, which sounds like, in your opinion, you saw a lack of
- 11:24earnest effort. Well, I saw a lack of desperation from how the coach,
- 11:33Quinn Snyder, Like last night, they had the lead and then at
- 11:37some point in the fourth he regulated starters to stop playing. He just went
- 11:43with all backups basically from the fourth throughout throughout the rest of the game.
- 11:48And I was thinking, but you got like a seven eight point lead,
- 11:52you know, just go ahead on and get the game. But he stayed
- 11:56with the backups the whole quarter of the game. So I was like,
- 12:00oh, well, looks like he's just gonna roll the dice and and I
- 12:03understand they was coming off of back to back, so he had one or
- 12:07two players like Whining that didn't play. I just thought it to be a
- 12:11little more effort. And I'm not effort from a physical but effort as far
- 12:15as playing the guys who you know your starters more. We'll be back with
- 12:20more of the Sports Jock Show, Big show for you today, Big Kenny,
- 12:24command you Greg. Right after this Joh't bowl Wayne Born of the Sports

- 15:41that has taken their game to the next level. Are welcome back to this
- 16:12what shock Shaan. This what shock wing Gandy. Good morning to you.
- 16:18We are moving right along in the month of April. The Masters, the
- 16:22eighty eighth Masters taking place down in Augusta for you. This weekend maybe a
- 16:27little delayed. Let's hope it doesn't like it one of those where it gets
- 16:30pushed into Monday. We can tie it up this weekend real quick with you
- 16:36guys. Is golf losing it's stardom? Yes, yes, okay, y'all
- 16:47said that with true conviction. There rarely do y'all give like just right,
- 16:51all right, right, It's something you have to consider the nuances. But
- 16:55no, in this situation, I would imagine that, and I think in
- 17:00part because now there are other options opening up. There used to be the
- 17:06PGA when it came to golf, period, and now there are other platforms
- 17:12for people to play golf, and then other sports are emerging. See see
- 17:19that's what I'm saying. Hey, hey, I got my uncle listening.
- 17:26You know what I'm saying. But that corn hoole pickleball that people have actually
- 17:33made competition sports. We've got what is it, break dancing now in the
- 17:37Olympics. So some of that is our own fault, like we keep looking
- 17:42for other stuff to entertain us. But then with the decline of Tiger,
- 17:48who PGA by their own doing made the god of golf. When he started
- 17:55to decline, all of the people that worshiped him kind of left the church.
- 18:00I think it's it's almost like one of those driving apps when you go
- 18:07online, you see some traffic, you start trying to avoid the traffic,
- 18:11but then ways or Apple Map or whatever start sending everybody that way. Well,
- 18:18if everybody starts going that way now, then that will eventually start becoming
- 18:25longer as well. So if you got in there real quick, yes it
- 18:29did save you time. Yes, But if you waited a while before you
- 18:33clicked on, now that's justice backed up right, juice? Does you ain't
- 18:41too long to get in? I do believe without having like this bona fide
- 18:48draw, same talent, same guys are winning good golf. But that personality,
- 18:55the Caitlin Clark kind of people want to see it is. It does
- 19:00seem like it has kind of uh settled down and kind of more went to
- 19:04how it was, which was always a big sport. They're always going to
- 19:07make the money. It always it didn't need Tiger Woods for it to still
- 19:14be around. It just needed something like a Tiger Woods because it always had
- 19:18a Jack Nicholson, it always had Arnold Palmer. It was always someone that
- 19:25was the face of it. Robert, I don't know that there is a
- 19:27face of it. Now, Who's who would you say the face of it?
- 19:32We know a lot of names. We don't know if golf does not
- 19:37well, yeah, it always seems like there was going to be that next
- 19:41one, like okay, so after Tiger it will be this guy like Roy
- 19:45McElroy, or it was Dustin Johnson or John rom or Jordan Shambo Jordan Spied.
- 19:55And none of those guys ever became that guy. I mean, they
- 19:59were talked about like they were going to command say. He don't even right,
- 20:03That's what I'm saying. I haven't seen a Do you remember all of
- 20:08the ads that they used to run for Tiger Woods where he every time they
- 20:18spoke golf, somehow his image was in that advertisement. And now, and
- 20:26let's make sure we from my point of view, I'm not talking about you
- 20:30know, because if the other guy was here, he would try to show
- 20:33you. And I'm not talking about at the clubhouse, at the golf I'm
- 20:37talking about in the consciousness, not the golfers, golfer, you consciousness of
- 20:42society. Yes, there has been like we in the Tiger was about a
- 20:49twenty where golf was in the consciousness. Yes, Now it seems like it's
- 20:55not that thing that like that consistently stays on the of just a casual fan.
- 21:03Right. So that's why when I thought about the Masters, it used
- 21:07to have a little more even fanfare leading up to it. Yeah, because
- 21:11there were there were more there were more guys who like they had won some
- 21:18tournaments before. But like once Tiger came around, then everyone always it was
- 21:22always pushed as Tiger versus the field. Okay, who's in the field,
- 21:27But no one talked about the field, right, it was just Tiger.
- 21:30So I think even as a couple of years ago, if Tiger is in
- 21:36contention on any tournament on Sunday, that's when the TV ratings go up.
- 21:41Still twenty five years later and so there hasn't been that next guy pushed,
- 21:45and that's why you know, you see that decline and in the casual fandom.
- 21:51NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said yesterday that Toronto Raptors forward John tay Porter,
- 21:59who is under investmentation by the league following multiple instances of betting irregularities over the
- 22:07past several months. And I'm this story is high up on the board today
- 22:12because when you start hearing permanently banned, he's facing permanently being banned. That's
- 22:26a big thing. Not out for a year, like a Calvin Ridley,
- 22:33the commissioner saying permanently banned is on the books. And that how you say
- 22:40the FBI come in there and they say, life, let you know what
- 22:45you face it first, So just to loosen up your tongue a little bit.
- 22:48You know, you might be in there with a tight y'all thinking you're
- 22:51gonna just ride it out, and they come and over look, i'd like
- 22:52you to get out ahead of this. Twenty five to life. No A
- 22:56permanent and you be like permanent and then you start thinking about what that word
- 23:02means because you went to class couple of times and permanent mean a long time.
- 23:07And you're like, yeah, well, I'll tell you who did it
- 23:08now. We'll come back after the break talk more about that. But for
- 23:12you just listening, like, how is this because could face permanent bands stood
- 23:18out to me for anyone you might not know the player, but for a
- 23:22player to be permanently banned from a league, it's serious charges. We'll be
- 23:27back right after this. More to Sports Jock Show Web or not my Name,

- 27:11Wayne? Again? He command you. Creg McKinny in the studio today as
- 27:15we roll into Masters weekend, we left talking about Adam Silver. NBA commissioner
- 27:21said yesterday that Toronto raptors for John te Porter serious charges could be banned permanently
- 27:30if what he's accused of is true, calling it a cardinal sin. So
- 27:41comanchi, you said you have read a couple of things or have heard a
- 27:45couple of things of what this cardinal sin could be. Yeah, So for
- 27:51anyone who uses the those daily fantasy sports apps, they have prop bets as
- 27:59far as over under on how many points a player would score. So for
- 28:03him, he averages four points a game, so the over under is four
- 28:07points for him, And in one game, he made one shot, so
- 28:15he had two points, and then he had an injury and had to leave
- 28:21the game. And then there was a record on that particular sports app that
- 28:27a bunch of people won money betting on him to score under four points.
- 28:33And that happened a few times where he would he would score a point or
- 28:40not even take a shot, had to leave the game because of some injury,
- 28:45and people won money on him because he they hit the under on how
- 28:51many points. And immediately when you said that number one they were considering permanent
- 29:00band, I knew that it had to be serious, and when they weren't
- 29:06specific, in my mind I began to project that this has something to do
- 29:12with some infraction that smells of fixing games. Because now that we're partnered with
- 29:22MGM and Caesars and all of these other batting apps and this is big business,
- 29:29has been for a long time, but now it's big business that's partnered
- 29:33with the NBA. We can't give the appearance that all of this isn't on
- 29:37the up and up. If you're telling me that guys are out there fixing
- 29:41prop bets, then who knows what's going on when it comes to the big
- 29:48pools of money. You know what I'm saying, who's gonna win the championship?
- 29:52If one guy's doing it, Just like it was with the steroid era,
- 29:55not everybody's doing it, but you'd probably seen somebody doing it. It's
- 29:59going to become one of those viruses that infects all NBA franchises if it goes
- 30:07unchecked. So I think that the threat of being gone forever could make some
- 30:12people either one stop doing it or two, if they have been doing it,
- 30:17come forward and out the people that you know if they have, or
- 30:19we're going to clean house and let everybody kind of go back to business.
- 30:23It'll encourage a lot of people to come forward. The ANBA has had his
- 30:27brushes with betting. If you remember former referee Tim Donaghy back in two thousand
- 30:34and seven, he served time for his involvement. To speak on this from
- 30:41the athletic standpoint, I haven't been in the locker room in a while,
- 30:45but I do know in my fifteen year tenure in the NFL, each and
- 30:52every year, the first meeting, the first security meeting, it starts with
- 31:00gambling and guns. First two things, so these are the two. Most
- 31:06important is gambling. So when you hear Cardinal Sin, this grew. One
- 31:15second is guns. Gun can't be on the premises. Gun can't be taken
- 31:18to anything involving You can't take your gun to peaks of Christmas, giveaway to
- 31:26the kids, anything involving the team. Your gun is not supposed to be
- 31:33with you, not just to the game, anything involving the team. So
- 31:40these are serious charges. The one thing with all this gambling is how do
- 31:45you control it? When do you control it? Who would you take a
- 31:49guy like John tay Porter. I don't know his salary, I don't know
- 31:53his stance in the league, but you're telling am out of situation where maybe
- 31:59I've been working for X amount of dollars. Now I can tenfold that because
- 32:07I already feel like I'm going to be back in Europe next season or something
- 32:13like that. Because remember this is NBA. I mean, he can't go
- 32:16to some other league. And as long as you have leagues connected to these
- 32:22betting houses. And we talked about this, the Detroit Lions had some players
- 32:25suspended last year, the Indianapolis coach. We talked about Atlanta with Calvin Ridley.
- 32:32It's going to always be that in any suspicion, because you got to
- 32:39realize the normal fan calls cheating on anything. Player dropped the ball, he
- 32:51got to be throwing the game. Referee make a call at a bad time,
- 32:53you gotta be throwing the game. Coach takes a player, you know,
- 32:58Coach, don't go for on a certain down or kick a field goal
- 33:02until a touchdown. Taking the money. He taking money. It's already out
- 33:07there people now, they legitimately just waiting for it to be proved. Dude
- 33:12drops a pass. He taking money. Now they caught him off the field.
- 33:15Yeah yeah, yeah, he just convinced him. So we will see
- 33:22how this works out. For John Jay Porter from Toronto, it's only twenty
- 33:28four years old, so you're talking about a band for him. He's just
- 33:31getting started and about to find himself in a whirl of trouble. Track and
- 33:37field for the first time, guys will be offered prize money at this Olympics
- 33:46track and field. If you win a gold medal in track and field,
- 33:53you will receive fifty thousand dollars. If you're on some kind of team like
- 34:00a four by one hundred or four by four hundred and you win gold and
- 34:06the four of you split the fifty thousand dollars. But if you win individual
- 34:12gold on track and field, this is the first time they've been offered a
- 34:17prize money. And that is that to get people to start really wanting watching
- 34:23or participating. Well, yeah, because you either want to be running the
- 34:28numbers. You got to be watching that that track guy or track young lady.
- 34:34Now if she can do two things another sport, she'll look at track
- 34:40like what it ain't no money in that, right, So you know there's
- 34:46nothing like that. So and now this free travel, I get to go
- 34:51see Greece. And I would imagine if I were able, this would increase
- 34:58the number of people in every race. I'm competing in everything. I'm in
- 35:00the four hundred, I'm in the three hundred, I'm in the one fifty.
- 35:05I don't even know if they got them fifty, But I mean,
- 35:07how many people in the one fifty I might end up winning? Now?
- 35:10Are there increments? Is that gold medal fifty thousand silvers all I've seen so
- 35:15far? To the track and field is said to become the first sport to
- 35:19introduce prize money at the Olympics. This was announced the other day, fifty
- 35:24thousand to gold medalists in Paris. I was also thinking, maybe this will
- 35:35help participants keep their gold medal. I know we've reported a lot of times
- 35:40of winners of these events not having that. I guess that love for the
- 35:47medal beyond the money right back after years? Yeah, after eight years,
- 35:53things get us on the market. Yeah, I'm at the pawn shop with
- 35:57it. Maybe maybe it will. But I conversely, I also wonder we
- 36:01just got through talking about an athlete embroiled in a gambling scandal. Once money
- 36:09gets involved, you know what I mean, Will they start allowing you to
- 36:14bet at the Olympics? Is that something that's coming to what I'm saying.
- 36:22Are they going to let betting houses place wagers on Olympic events? And you,
- 36:27as an athlete, look out there, that's that's not already on the
- 36:31table. Don't you bet on who wins the hundred, Well, I mean
- 36:37you can bet on like others can bet on that. But you're talking about
- 36:38the athletes themselves betting on the race. Well, I'm saying, if you
- 36:45can bet on who wins the one hundred meter and that athlete can access that
- 36:50information and it comes with prop bet possibilities, sure they could bet on themselves.
- 36:55Sure they could. I mean we just saw my man do it in
- 37:00the NBA. Why why, I mean, I'm running the race, surely
- 37:04I can. I know the difference between a second and a quarter of a
- 37:08second. I can manage that. And again, beyond this goal metal,
- 37:15how much am I gonna make? These people making money off me in the
- 37:17prop game? Up my money? Six million dollars for this one race.
- 37:22I'm racing three times while I'm hearing pairs, so I'm gonna get my money
- 37:27in either way. I'm gonna make sure I'm okay. There is money and
- 37:30make sure there is money you make. So if I if I run for
- 37:36the US team, I win the hundred, the US does pay does pay
- 37:39me X amount of dollars? Right, this is extra money, and this
- 37:45is a bag of money that's ice Cuban gun right, that's ice Cuban gunner
- 37:50that got together at the end of one hundred meters, like you get here
- 37:53first and here you go. And that's the part of if I've won the
- 37:58hundred last Olympics, right, I think it was maybe thirty five thousand dollars,
- 38:05So you do get someone. This is additional, That's what I'm saying.
- 38:08This is from this Olympics. From the Olympics. This is highest hanging
- 38:12at the end of the high So we're gonna do something. You thought they
- 38:15hit that gral in the knee would have power before the more sports. Nothing
- 38:29in this world. Com be like you, baby, don't go away.

- 41:27It's wains locked on so you can see the sports jaint. I'll sing
- 41:42even Big Janny, Welcome back to the shop, the sports Shop, Wayne
- 41:47Candy, Good morning to you, we were talking about prize money for the
- 41:53Olympics in Paris. First time it has been offered as prize money the US
- 42:00Olympic and Paralympic committees for our athletes. You do win what I'm looking at
- 42:08least the last Olympics. Thirty seven five for gold medals, twenty two thousand,
- 42:17five hundred for silver, and fifteen thousand four bronze. That's for the
- 42:24US. Now other countries might pay more, might pay less, but this
- 42:29fifty thousand would be on top of that. So I win the goal in
- 42:36THEE hundred, I get the thirty seven five, and I get the fifty
- 42:39thousand dollars. Track and field Olympic sports, the Olympics in general has been
- 42:47one of those sports that has suffered because of technology and the explosion of sports.
- 42:53They used to be just seen as this moment in time you had to
- 42:59catch a particular event, and now Olympics is more of just a casual.
- 43:07No one seems in our country now, other countries seem like they still have
- 43:12this applause for their Olympic athletes. Our country, we have our one or
- 43:19two sports. The other two hundred sports were involved. If you didn't win
- 43:25those kind of things. I think we still give swimming, gymnastics, track
- 43:34and field, I don't know, not so much. The tracking fields,
- 43:42well, well not so much. We will celebrate whoever wins the hundred.
- 43:45Well maybe when the Olympics comes around. There's a lot of track and field
- 43:54chatter in my orbit because several of my friends or track athletes in school,
- 44:01so they're always keeping me abreast of the latest track goings on. But it's
- 44:09interesting that diving and gymnastics seem to be the top two, and I know
- 44:15a lot of other countries have it. But when they cheer, they seem
- 44:20to cheer for their athletes collectively. We stream our events when we want to
- 44:25watch them, you know what I'm saying. We're not going to get up
- 44:28in the middle of the night because it's a five hour time difference and watch
- 44:31you run. We'll just record it, or we'll go to the coverage that
- 44:36they offer us when we wake up. And so we're cheering the athlete.
- 44:39We're just cheering. You cheer at ten am, I cheer at two fifteen
- 44:43pm, you know what I mean. So you don't get that collective go
- 44:47team showy A Tani, his ex interpreter faces federal charges. The Dodger superstar
- 44:55Shoe Tani, his interpreter four and a half million dollars he seemed to have
- 45:07misplaced from Otani's bank account. He sounded like the Pentagon four and a half
- 45:15minuts. Are you sure? Are you sure that was here in a minute
- 45:17ago? Yeah, I remember, I gave you permission made that transition transaction
- 45:23and you say it was for four to half million. He started looking through
- 45:28papers packed in his pockets. Of the investigation started three weeks ago when it
- 45:35was broke bad. At least four and a half million was transmitted from Otoni's
- 45:38bank account to California bookmaker under federal investigation. So the fans were already looking
- 45:47at this California book maker, right, and they got caught up in the
- 45:57We we already looking for some when then something else up across a Nah,
- 46:00we got our boy, more like Robert Kraft incident with the massage. Remember
- 46:08they were there investigating human traffic trafficking and he had to go to that.
- 46:15Okay, yes, and maybe maybe we can pinch him and get these people
- 46:20correct. And they had to drop it because the warrant was for violations of
- 46:24human traffic, right, not whatever Robert Kraft was doing. So this is
- 46:30how all this came to light. They were investigating a California bookmaker. Uh.
- 46:36And that's the part of these sports entities and what people forgot why they
- 46:42were always distancing themselves from gambling. You are going to still have that same
- 46:49amount of criminal enterprise that's gonna work through. Now what they slapped their name
- 46:54up there Big Kenny's Sports Betting, right, and you, oh, it's
- 47:00legit and Johnson's behind it. I don't know I'm saying. I'm just saying
- 47:08because in this case, you have to make sure you understand they were investigating
- 47:15the book maker, right. They didn't know who was gonna come now now
- 47:17this is the man they see, uh show They thought it was that making
- 47:22this right, But now now and I'm sure I'm sure they're still probably waiting
- 47:30for the other shoe to fall because what you're telling me is commands you Greg
- 47:35told me I could have access. What they're asserting it's command you Greg told
- 47:40me I could have access to his account to make transactions and I chose to
- 47:47bet with that access. Is that what they're asserting or are they saying that
- 47:53commands you Greg told me he wanted to place a bet, but he wanted
- 47:57me to do it for him. No, the class that's it athlete,
- 48:01entertainer and dealing with their agent. Oka. Remember your interpreter in this situation
- 48:07is probably handling some of those kinds of transactions for you. So they said
- 48:14that they told me to just transfer it to them on the and so they
- 48:19show hate is asserting that it was stolen in my career, and the fans
- 48:25are saying that he whoever they found a trail that Matt Sahara is the one
- 48:32who had been gambling with this particular and this time to pay off whatever he
- 48:38got in trouble with. He thought he would go and pay off with show
- 48:45he's money, and that's when he fell on the register. So and still
- 48:51kind of sound like you got caught with it in your car, And now
- 48:55we all kind of got to answer questions, you know what I mean that
- 48:59that seemed really really I'm sure the fans aren't satisfied, not them, So
- 49:05I don't know, But why can't it just be clear the wife was stealing
- 49:08the money. And the only reason I'm speaking like that because I know athletes
- 49:15that that's how they go broke the agent. They let the agents pay the
- 49:17bill, so they let the financial guy pay the bill. Eight years later
- 49:22they realized that they four hundred thousand dollars short because he was slowly just taking
- 49:28knife and siphing it. And see he was doing it in so small increments
- 49:34it didn't register. But enough years went by. Now it's like I could
- 49:37have sworn I made another half million dollars. And because I think we're calling
- 49:45him interpreter, but if he's interpreting to everyone right right, he could be
- 49:50telling them, sure, hey said he gonna need seven million more. We'll
- 49:53be back more to Sports Jock Show. Right after this per big shop Man

- 52:58So it would be Caitland Clark fever. Yeah, should be paying for the
- 53:05fever, Yeah, would be fever. Yeah, Caitlyn Clark fever fever.
- 53:09That's break, that's brillier. That took you a while to get around to
- 53:14my rim tap, but I appreciate it. The Indiana Fever, who is
- 53:17people expect here in the next couple of days when they are on the board
- 53:23with the WNBA draft, they are going to draft Caitlyn Clark. And a
- 53:30lot of people are one betting on this because the Fever are already running ads
- 53:40of Caitlin Clark being in their uniform. They've even set dates for ticket sales
- 53:46for their June I think it's June thirtieth that the Phoenix Mercury Diana Tarassi,
- 53:54who some called the goat of the WNBA, we'll face off against Caitlyn Clark.
- 54:04So that matchup is being sold. It's a great, a great ad.
- 54:08They have a picture of Diana Tarassi, it says the Goat, and
- 54:14a small picture of someone wearing number twenty two looking up at her like right
- 54:22about that time. And you know, Diana Tarossi is old enough to be
- 54:25Caitlyn Clark's mom. That's another story, because Diana Tarossi about forty two years
- 54:30old something like that. Yeah, and Caitlyn Clark is twenty two years old.
- 54:40And that's been the big debate this whole year of who is the goat?
- 54:44And some Peel. I don't. Caitlyn Clark hasn't even gotten to the
- 54:50WNBA, and I'm asking, is it possible that Allah coach Prime? She
- 54:55could pull Eli and beyond on somebody I want to go to the Fever?
- 55:04I wouldn't. Why would she not want to? No, I'm just safer
- 55:07to play for who. Maybe she might choose that Big three groove? Oh
- 55:15no, she can still, she could still do both. And I don't
- 55:20know how much of the Big Three she could do. But from however,
- 55:23ice Cube had it written up. He just needed a couple of hours on
- 55:28a Saturday. I don't even know if she had to make every date I
- 55:31got, like Alan Iverson was doing for him for a while. Yeah,
- 55:35Alan Iverson didn't go to every He just called him up. Hey man,
- 55:38I ain't doing nothing this weekend. I come to Philadelphia. Well, ticket
- 55:42sales down. We're gonna need you to come to this city. Ticket sales
- 55:45are good. I don't worry about don't worry about it. Caitlyn Clark and
- 55:50the Indiana Fever. It says that the Fever is set to have thirty six
- 55:53of its forty games be national games this year, So out of the forty
- 56:01games. They're already declared thirty six games on national television. Well, that's
- 56:07the Kaitlyn Clark effect, I'm saying, because before that, how many Fever
- 56:13games did you watch? Zero? All right? How many were available to
- 56:19watch nationally? Forty? Oh? No, no, nationally, I don't
- 56:22know. I don't know. That's what I'm saying. Do you think it
- 56:24was thirty six? No? No? And they had the great to Meka
- 56:30catch it, Yeah, playing with them at one point in her great,
- 56:35her great career. So that's the Caitlan Clark effect. And rightfully so I
- 56:39think the NWNBA draft is what next week? Yeah, it's on Monday,
- 56:45Oh Monday, Okay, So Indiana Fever and we talked about a great move
- 56:49for Caitlin as far as she kind of stays in the region. Yeah,
- 56:52her Clark or Knots. What do they call themselves, clarker knotts. It
- 57:00was a nickname for them. They got to call and call them the swift
- 57:04the Swifties. We got to be we say, what the little monsters for
- 57:10lady guy guy Clark clarkon knots. Let's go Clark. I like that Clark
- 57:15Knots. Okay, So go to Trademark dot Com and Trademark. While you're
- 57:28over there scrolling, let's get Clark knots on on the board. So a
- 57:32great region for her to stay in. The Fever and the w n b
- 57:37A right now, it's it's not like the NBA so much where you have
- 57:45to be in this particular city to gain your fame. It's still, yes,
- 57:50it's always going to be a little more fame to be for the New
- 57:52York or l A team, but they still haven't established them to be,
- 57:58Oh, this is the team because the Phoenix Mercury titles Minnesota Lynx a lot
- 58:04of titles, you know. So it's not like the Liberty Vegas in yeah,
- 58:08Las Vegas back to back. So it's not like the Liberty and the
- 58:13Sparks are just the game in town. So Indiana Fever with her in that
- 58:19region already should explode. So thirty six of the forty, Wow, I
- 58:23don't know what happened to the other four. It seems like it's just before.
- 58:28If it's thirty six, you imagine it. She just forty forty scrape
- 58:32them other little crumbs now going to like peacock, Oh they pay for you?

- 1:03:38killed his girlfriend, Reva sten Camp back in twenty thirteen. People in the
- 1:03:46area where he has been now paroled, says he's working at a church where
- 1:03:52he is sweeping floors. Says he lives with his uncle but works at the
- 1:04:00local church. Rarely cracks a smile, doesn't talk to any one, and
- 1:04:10basically like you can imagine, can't find real employment. Sounds about right,
- 1:04:18guys, right, Yeah, welcome to post prison life. It sounds like,
- 1:04:24yeah, it's not you know, especially not didn't go to jail for
- 1:04:32financial crimes or you went to jail for me because you can't cause you can't
- 1:04:36just say that Comand like you know, while y'all always bringing up old stuff
- 1:04:42right right when you've done this, it never gets old. No, no,
- 1:04:46I don't think it. And that was ten years ago. Why you're
- 1:04:50bringing up that old but actually it was only about seven and a half years
- 1:04:54in your case, because we all wondered why you didn't do that. Other
- 1:04:56three and those are some of the things that will affect him going forward.
- 1:05:02Is some people probably have an opportunity that they could offer him but won't because
- 1:05:09of their feelings about his not fully paying his debt to society or something like
- 1:05:15that. And then I don't know what kind of laws they have in his
- 1:05:19country that warrant that are attached to employment. I know here certain jobs you
- 1:05:30can't even apply for if you have a felony record once you go to prison.
- 1:05:34That's you know, prison record is some jobs you can get, but
- 1:05:40like the TSA, I think maybe you can still work for them. But
- 1:05:44outside of that, and for who we know the young lady is girlfriend to
- 1:05:47be. She was someone that the country yes adored, Yes, so that
- 1:05:56you have that as well, like you got people who are just not going
- 1:06:00to come to your business. If they hear word of this, are going
- 1:06:04to be appalled, right that you hired the guy that killed would they?
- 1:06:13He contacted the International Paralympic Committee asking if he could work, if they could
- 1:06:18work together in any capacity. They said, he's too toxic to work with.
- 1:06:24Now there's nothing for him here, like immediately, there's no. And
- 1:06:30that's what I'm saying. I would like, I would like to find some
- 1:06:33empathy for you. But I just I mean, and I could be sitting
- 1:06:38there going, man, I don't think he did it, but still,
- 1:06:41you know what I'm saying, I can't do any business with you because everyone
- 1:06:45else does. Yeah, just a tough situation for that. I don't know.
- 1:06:51Maybe he just is just hitting him now. Wow. Yeah, even
- 1:06:58the time that he sat he probably never he might have thought there was some
- 1:07:01kind of ray of hope. Right when I get out, man, I'm
- 1:07:03gonna be the old Oscar Now, I'm gonna be able to use those contacts
- 1:07:09in some kind of way to build a life again. Yeah, surely someone
- 1:07:13will stick behind me now. Yeah. No, it's not gonna happen like
- 1:07:15that at all. Mo Vaughn, former Major league baseball player. We talked
- 1:07:26on Monday about pitch clocks and the picture saying it's the pitch clock that's messing
- 1:07:33up their arm. Mo Vaughn says he blames analytics more than the pitch clock.
- 1:07:44His point of view is that the modern day pitcher now gets up there
- 1:07:49and basically they have no craftiness. Everything they do is throwing the ball hard.
- 1:07:59It's about velocity, the and spin, and they're not groomed. They
- 1:08:04don't have to mix it up with a trick balls. And and because of
- 1:08:10that, since all you're caring about is how fast what it say on the
- 1:08:14gun, that is basically saying they're emptying the tank. And if you continue
- 1:08:18to pitch that way all the time, your army is going to give out
- 1:08:23on you. That's basically what That's what major League Baseball said. Okay,
- 1:08:29okay, so they agree with them, You don't think Movaan and Major League
- 1:08:33Baseball and partner, I mean, because again major League Baseball saying it sort
- 1:08:39of sounds like they want to dodge accountability for possibly doing something that affected the
- 1:08:45players. One of movaugh in the Hall of Fame is he a Hall of
- 1:08:48Fame player, but he's someone who has a great deal of credibility in Major
- 1:08:55League Baseball. For him to say it would make even a fan go,
- 1:09:00yeah, well, maybe maybe he's right. And I wonder is a lot
- 1:09:04of this trend into just throwing as hard as you can with some sort of
- 1:09:10spin on It got something to do with like we said about the fastball the
- 1:09:14other day, after about the second or third inning, the batters have picked
- 1:09:17up on all of that stuff, and so for you to be able to
- 1:09:21stay in the major leagues, you've got to give them something they can't hit.
- 1:09:26I mean, now, you know, first two innings, you with
- 1:09:29that low sinker or that breaking ball, you got me. But by the
- 1:09:33fifth ending, that thing's going four hundred and twenty feet. Well in that
- 1:09:39case, I think what Moa is alluding to, like major League baseball,
- 1:09:44you're still gonna have those great three or four innings, right, but you're
- 1:09:47gonna you know, as we watch with baseball now anyway, you don't have
- 1:09:54guys, the middle reliever is just as important as the starter. Now you
- 1:09:58have almost like I'm only sending you out here to pitch five innings. They've
- 1:10:03kind of broken it down. Whereas it's not that he went deep into the
- 1:10:08eighth and now we just sent out the closer. It's three people are going
- 1:10:13to pitch today. Minimum. We need to get you through at least through
- 1:10:17six innings. Then we have a seventh inning guy. We have an eighth
- 1:10:21ninth inning guy. And for you to has Mo Vaughn Sports Academy where he
- 1:10:27does a lot of scouting for high school and he's just sees this. He's
- 1:10:31talk about all the way down on the high school alvel and for a guy
- 1:10:35like him, and I guess, you know, seasons and times change,
- 1:10:41and people think when you make statements, it's about oh, you're from a
- 1:10:43different era. I just think he's saying, uh, it went to just
- 1:10:46everybody trying to throw fastball. Where is the Greg Maddox, where is the
- 1:10:51placement of the ball. You know the guys that they were great pitchers because
- 1:10:57whatever they were throwing you, all you could do was ground the ball out.
- 1:11:01It's hard to hit a home run off for certain pitches. Yeah,
- 1:11:04we saw a guy like a few years ago, Ra Dickey won the Cy
- 1:11:10Young. He's a knuckleballer, so it's not going more than fifty miles an
- 1:11:15hour. So if a guy can be effective about you know, five six
- 1:11:19years ago throwing that way. Then you don't have to It doesn't have to
- 1:11:24be fastball fastball all the time. So Mole says it might be that and
- 1:11:29not the pitch clock, which I think brought some excitement back. It gave
- 1:11:34fans the baseball game went faster first and foremost. And you know it was
- 1:11:42fifteen seventeen minutes shorter something like that. It was big. That's a lot
- 1:11:47of times to be able to shave off with a game almost twenty minutes.
- 1:11:50Yeah, and it seemed like the game move with more energy games I went
- 1:11:55to. It wasn't a whole bunch of walking around, you know, fixing
- 1:12:00each wristband changing. It's not just on the picture. It's on the hitter,
- 1:12:08like you don't stray far from the box, or you better be in
- 1:12:11the box at this point or it's going to be a strike. Yeah,
- 1:12:15you're down to one adjustment and then put the back. It can't be all
- 1:12:18that unzip each glove that it was not. I just thought it made it,
- 1:12:24you know, because some guys had gotten ridiculous with it. It's almost
- 1:12:30like how they had to do the free throw with Giannis and who's back to
- 1:12:33that and watched the Bucks game when he was here. He is back to
- 1:12:40the they used to give ten seconds. He's back to the whole You you
- 1:12:45think by the time he shoots the free throw, you think they had caught
- 1:12:47a time out. The action stopped so long right for him to shoot free
- 1:12:54throw. To shoot two free throws is about a minute and a half of
- 1:13:00time. By the time he doesn't, it's like everything freezes waiting only for
- 1:13:05him to shoot fifty percent bounced. Look, it's gonna take you that long.
- 1:13:12You should be yeah, because you you pulled down a protract and all
- 1:13:16of that. But he's just doing all that to miss. We'll be back
- 1:13:19more a sports shock show right after this. M h, Don't go Awayne

- 1:13:45you noticed bad behavior has become normalized at interscholastic athletic events. Some fan seemed

- 1:14:04school sports aren't just about winning, and they're definitely not an excuse to take

- 1:17:03Molly allcot is twenty four years old. Ed O'Neill still around, married
- 1:17:10with children, seventy eight years old. Clare Daynes is forty five. Shannon
- 1:17:15Doherty nine two one oh is fifty three. She's been dealing with a lot
- 1:17:19of health issues. I was reading the article. She says she was kind
- 1:17:24of getting her stuff, selling stuff and putting things in place to help her
- 1:17:29mom out so her mom didn't find herself if she passed. You know,
- 1:17:34you never know when life is going. But right now with her issues health
- 1:17:38wise, she sees herself passing before her mother, but didn't want to saddle
- 1:17:43her with all these little trinkets and things like that, so she was selling
- 1:17:49them or throwing them away or giving them away for that reason. David Letterman
- 1:17:56seventy seven, Andy Garcia sixty eight, El Duncan espn is forty one.
- 1:18:02Al Green seventy eight, ty dollars signed forty two. Melvin Gordon who was
- 1:18:10a sensation there for about two years when he was at the Chargers, and
- 1:18:14then he kind of fell off thirty one years old. Josh Gordon often troubled
- 1:18:19receiver. I remember Josh when Josh was in the league, especially in Cleveland,
- 1:18:27people saw him as being the next superstar and then just issue out the
- 1:18:32issue, get in the league, stay around for four or five games,
- 1:18:36just could not stick. Thirty three years old and Baron Davis is forty five
- 1:18:43years of age. Baron Davis the other day speaking about Bronnie James and felt
- 1:18:49like Bronnie James could make the NBA, but from reading different scouting reports,
- 1:18:57at least two or three GM says that nowhere near ready. They all seem
- 1:19:02to want Brunnie to go back to college and work on his game because they
- 1:19:08don't want him to get lost. And I remember guys like him. I
- 1:19:13remember Jeff Tigue's brother. Jeff Tigue had a brother, went to Mars,
- 1:19:17went to Kentucky and he was there with that Devin Booker group. He was
- 1:19:26there with the Anthony Davis. He was on that championship team with Anthony Davis
- 1:19:30and Michael kid Gilchrist. Okay, it was a bunch of guys that left,
- 1:19:35and he was a freshman too, and he tried to leave and basically
- 1:19:42it didn't. You don't know, you haven't seen him. You can't remember
- 1:19:45where he was when he got drafted. That's what to me when these scouts
- 1:19:50were saying, you'll just get lost. Somebody will draft you and then will
- 1:19:57wonder whatever happened in the league. As far as your own reputation, only
- 1:20:02thing you will have will be that Lebron's son. Yeah. Uh, and
- 1:20:08that's what the scouts the two articles I read, they're they're hoping. They
- 1:20:12don't want you to They want you to have a better chance of sticking than
- 1:20:16the b some guys who tried to leave early. So Baron Davis was speaking
- 1:20:23on that WWE as we talked about Jason Kelcey and Lane Johnson tag team match
- 1:20:31or at least interrupting the match last week on w W forty in Philly.
- 1:20:38But WWE seems like they're still having some interest in Jason Kelsey. He's perfect
- 1:20:47for WWE, even if it's just to come out and hype and push the
- 1:20:55storyline forward. He's the big, burly bearded guy we ain't afraid to chug
- 1:21:00a beer and wear a mask and some jeans and some work boots, and
- 1:21:05everybody loves that at ww It's We had a conversation once about nostalgia and how
- 1:21:12people try to connect to that in relation to the reboot of Good Times and
- 1:21:15the animated series that they're trying to do. And one of the things that
- 1:21:19you said is these generations want to connect with the viral moments that we had,
- 1:21:29those once in a lifetime, that moment in time. They want to
- 1:21:33have an experience like that the Freaknicks, and that's what wrestling was when it
- 1:21:41became popular. They've never seen that. They only know a time of glittery
- 1:21:46uniforms and people jumping off the top turn buckle and doing flips. And you
- 1:21:50know, the wrestlers look as much supermodel as they do professional wrestler. We
- 1:21:57hadn't seen a Kelsey looking and wrestler in a wile in w W, E
- 1:22:01NW, any of these wrestling houses command Gie Big Kenny. They've always had
- 1:22:06this kind of every man yes wrestler. Yes, That's why I said,
- 1:22:12someone like a Dusty Rose, who was the American dream. His whole storyline
- 1:22:16was. That's why it was never the steroid look right, it was I'm
- 1:22:21just hard as nail. I had come from a tough family, you know,
- 1:22:28and Jason Kelsey, even stonecold Steve Austin's character was more rooted in boot
- 1:22:34collar hard. I've worked at waffle house and I ain't got no rolex.
- 1:22:41But when I get you and I can tell you, baby, that contream
- 1:22:47Dusty brose it's going to do something so phenomena. Not baby, you will
- 1:22:58not be able to understand. Oklan, let me ask you something. Let
- 1:23:02me ask you something. Mean, why is it that you hate the Malican
- 1:23:06dream the way that you if always Justin Kelsey does fit that look? Uh
- 1:23:15and already has a start on as I said, the size and with how
- 1:23:18wrestling goes as we was talking about. Uh, those guys don't have to
- 1:23:23do the circus now three matches a week everywhere. They can just show up
- 1:23:29for Monday Night Raw. That's it. That's whatever dates those are on.
- 1:23:34You know, they don't have to do that. Get in the van and
- 1:23:38we need to get that freight train souplex and that uh clarka knots trademark.
- 1:23:45Right now, I'm saying those two. Let's get you said you always yes,

- 1:26:11to the Sports Job Wayne Gandy Lounge. I've been given full access to the
- 1:26:20player's lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy. I like to dedicate
- 1:26:40this song he little Junior Parker. Of course, no man that's going on,
- 1:26:46but we've let him kind of carry on in his name. We're back
- 1:26:55to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Can d X NBA
- 1:26:59baller Ben maclamore has been charged he would first degree rape and about three or
- 1:27:10four other sexual crimes. He's facing a maximum sentence of twenty years in jail.
- 1:27:17The former lottery pick who career just never took off out of Kansas just
- 1:27:27finds himself in some very serious no real definition of what went on. But
- 1:27:35when you start ting my first degree rape and unlawful penetration things, I would
- 1:27:44have to get a textbook out, maybe one of you two know what all
- 1:27:46that means. No, and again I don't mean to be dismissive in any
- 1:27:53of these situations, but when you're talking about prison time, we should be
- 1:28:03more specific. Like you said, you know, no one really has any
- 1:28:08specifics. It's just I think that we should get very specific in this.
- 1:28:13You say unlawful penetration, All of these things sort of have a sort of
- 1:28:21allude to that you were wrong, but there was some gray area, but
- 1:28:26you crossed the line. That does that make sense what I'm saying that something
- 1:28:30happened, but it wasn't a full abduction, you know what I mean?
- 1:28:35There was something well, I think that's covered under first degree rape. His
- 1:28:40first degree rape and first degree unlawful oh sexual com oftration from a case back
- 1:28:45in twenty twenty one that has finally come where he has been charged has been
- 1:28:51mackalam Moore, Nate Robinson former Dunk did anyone at Dunk contest? Nate Robinson
- 1:28:59one year Yeah, only three time champion. Okay Roberts, he was a
- 1:29:01knockout that year for the Knicks. The former Nick guard had went on record
- 1:29:09the other day after revealing a couple of years ago that he was undergoing treatment
- 1:29:15for kidney failure. Says that he feels like without a kidney transplant, he
- 1:29:21doesn't have long to live. He's thirty nine years old. Wow. I
- 1:29:26was reading the article. He speaks that he goes three days a week,
- 1:29:30four hours a date to get dialysis. I have to speak on this because
- 1:29:36it touches me dear to my heart. One of my good friends, Victor
- 1:29:41Riley, former first round pick of the Chiefs back in ninety eight, played
- 1:29:45two years with me in the New Orleans Saints. He passed away on Monday
- 1:29:50night at the age of forty nine from kidney failure. Big Vic rip and
- 1:29:57Warrior. Goal to you, Warrior, go to your family. He was
- 1:30:00living down in New Orleans, so I got that word on Monday night.
- 1:30:06But VIC kidney failure something that has to be addressed. Yeah, And I
- 1:30:15don't know certain guys I think at first, when they first hear it,
- 1:30:19they think it's some kind of I can work around it. But as Nate
- 1:30:25is talking about from the article I read, he learned that it was one
- 1:30:29of the most serious things that could ever happen to you without those did you
- 1:30:34read the article commands? I think he was saying without dialysis, he would
- 1:30:41die in like ten days or something. Wow, So that's what's really keeping
- 1:30:46him alive. And we talking about four hours, three times a week.
- 1:30:51That's a significant amount of time. And he's you know, so he was
- 1:30:58just prayers out to that young man and it's just happened to a good friend
- 1:31:01of mine. It shows you how serious it is. And one of the
- 1:31:08things I know about kidney disease and kidney transplants is it's not something that's as
- 1:31:15easy to fix as someone being willing to help you. There are a lot
- 1:31:21more things that go into being compatible and matching and you being healthy enough for
- 1:31:29and that kidney being you know, there's a lot So even with a kidney
- 1:31:32transplant, there's a better chance, but it's not a it's not a you
- 1:31:41know, you can't your body can still reject the kidney. And I think
- 1:31:45Alonzo mourning, isn't that morning and Sean Elliott Sean Elliott, Okay, Alonzo
- 1:31:53mourning right there kind of in the height of his career, right he wasn't
- 1:31:58young, but he wasn't like a year or two from retiring. He was
- 1:32:01kind of maybe in that year ten or something wherever he was. And I
- 1:32:05think he got his from his brother. I think so. But like you're
- 1:32:10saying, it's a Sean Elliott did too. Okay, yeah, it has
- 1:32:13to be a sibling typically match. But it's not always that either, bit
- 1:32:17Kenny, like you're saying. And there was a case that we had here
- 1:32:20where a hospital was refusing there was a candidate he was at the top of
- 1:32:29the transplant list, and they refused to give it to him because he had
- 1:32:31had one before and he was an alcoholic, was abusing himself, and they
- 1:32:36were saying that they didn't want to basically waste the kidney on a candidate that
- 1:32:42wasn't going to take care of it. They wanted to give it to someone,
- 1:32:44in their opinion, who had a better chance of long term survival.
- 1:32:50And the first guy's family sued over that, like, you can't call him
- 1:32:56unworthy of having it when he's the first guy on the list. Rajon Rondo
- 1:33:02newly retired longtime NBA baller point guard Rundo winning a championship there with the Celtics
- 1:33:10back with KG Paul Pierce, ray Allen and those guys. Doc Rivers was
- 1:33:14the head coach. He says that within ten to fifteen years, he feels
- 1:33:19like, basically, they won't be an American player in the NBA. And
- 1:33:27I would imagine he's not saying there won't be any. I think it sounds
- 1:33:31like he's saying the European the international player is coming, right, and I
- 1:33:40think we've slowly seen that happen. Now now that window is really open.
- 1:33:46I was going to say, is he maybe a season or two kind of
- 1:33:50late with this announcement? The British are coming in there already in the front
- 1:33:55yard, you know what I mean? Maybe just polling that he's gonna get
- 1:33:59worse. It's gonna get no one's I think no one's really like seeing it.
- 1:34:02As far as who the like the top players in the league, aren't
- 1:34:10they are all from And I'm saying it's been like that for a minute.
- 1:34:15The Yo Kitchens in the the Jako. Your sensibility is that you recognize that
- 1:34:23Yo kids and Dunkae are European, right. I think he's saying, you're
- 1:34:31America is not really aware that those guys are that's going to be they just
- 1:34:35got right there, like Lucas, Like Luca is from Wisconsin. He's not
- 1:34:40right right, And I was going to say, you think you just think
- 1:34:43he's somewhere like Minnesota. Yeah, he's got to be from Minnesota. But
- 1:34:46no, and slowly but surely, how many we've got thirty two teams in
- 1:34:54the NBA, in my correct thirty teams, how many of them don't have
- 1:34:59a person for overseas on it. That would be a great question. I
- 1:35:03know last night, even at the game between the Hornets and the Hawks,
- 1:35:09Uh, there had to be because you at least you got three maybe four,
- 1:35:15well it was at least four maybe about that play seven, because you
- 1:35:19remember you still have to add in the Clint Capella's Capella Fernando, Fernando.
- 1:35:27Those guys are from here. You're not from Harlem. You know you're looking
- 1:35:33at Copella like it's from Brooklyn, But no, it's not. So when
- 1:35:38you add that Bogmanovich. Last night there was another Uh, the Hornets had
- 1:35:45a player. His name was spelled different, but I think, uh it
- 1:35:50was Bail. But it's the same pronouncing pronunciation as Joker. Right, So
- 1:35:57how do you say Jokich. It was just spelled different. So instead of
- 1:36:00a K, it was a V, right, it was j O V
- 1:36:03I C for the heat, yeah, nicolea Yovic. No for the Hornets,
- 1:36:10No, no, excuse me, Yes, for the heat on Tuesday.
- 1:36:13Yes. So it's it's just was and that's what I'm saying that.
- 1:36:15So, Rajon Rondo, thanks for that timely information. But well I think
- 1:36:21he I think him saying it really does wake you up because he's a high
- 1:36:28caliber player. Well, just to remember the Capella Bruno Fernando, the Hornets
- 1:36:33had a guy named last name was Thor J. T. Thorn. Yeah,
- 1:36:39they are not from Gwinnett, ask they moved to from But I know
- 1:36:45that I'm saying. So it even extends outside of the European player. We're
- 1:36:50getting international in uniform last night and probably eight oh that twenty four third of
- 1:37:00them was international without me having to even look, you know, yeah,
- 1:37:06okay, because me, I was sitting there with my good friend Willie Anderson
- 1:37:10used to play for the Bengals, and we were talking, why is it
- 1:37:15any anyone that you can't pronounce their their last name can shoot threes? And
- 1:37:23I was going to say, so I was just about to say. One
- 1:37:26of the things that makes this even more concerning is it's not like these guys
- 1:37:30are coming here just to take up space on the court. They're not foul
- 1:37:34out machines things like that. They're coming and they're putting guys who are from
- 1:37:40this country in the sixth Man Award of Contention. Yeah, so, rajah
- 1:37:45Rondo says ten fifteen years, And I don't think he really meant like no
- 1:37:49one. I think he's just saying that trend is growing and growing and growing,
- 1:37:55and just think all of it's going to change. The commentator he is
- 1:37:59bouncing and he basing a gay as a gain. You take the joker as
- 1:38:03one of the last two m vps. Uh two of the last two of
- 1:38:08the last three. Yeah, you take, and even what's my man for
- 1:38:14the sixers before we go? Indeed, where's it be from the Cameroon?
- 1:38:18Exactly is he he playing? And it will be back after this my money,
- 1:38:33they won't never fall, don't bowl? Wayne Born of the Sports Josh
- 1:38:41Hill with Wayne Dandy Yes coming up next. Are you prepared for an emergency

- 1:41:30you can see the sports jain't I'll sing even big Canny, Welcome back to
- 1:41:38the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Candy. One of the
- 1:41:41funniest things that might happen all year is watching our man John Caliperi take a
- 1:41:53job and learning that he has no players. John Caliperi leaving Kentucky for the
- 1:42:02Arkansas job a couple of days ago. He made the announcement on Sunday.
- 1:42:09Our man Donny Brown had conspiracy theories about the announcement of it, but hey,
- 1:42:15we're going to make sure we cut in on the South Carolina girls calibery.
- 1:42:19From what I've read about his wanting this job, he said that Kentucky
- 1:42:25was his dream job. He just looked like he needed a fresh start on
- 1:42:30somewhere else. And remember he has driven Kentucky to be one of the top
- 1:42:34programs. They just get to the dance and they drop out. He's had
- 1:42:39a bad run of getting to the final the sixty four and losing in the
- 1:42:44first or second round over the last couple of years, and now he wants
- 1:42:48a fresh start. He goes to Arkansas only to find out through transfer portal
- 1:42:55and Seniors that he has no one on scholarship. He has no one on
- 1:43:04his team. If I was hearing correctly as I was getting up this morning,
- 1:43:10he has like one walk on player that is still listed to be on
- 1:43:17the team. Other than that, he has to go out and recruit an
- 1:43:24entire team. Did you do take any of that personal? Not in today's
- 1:43:30age? No, okay, okay, not in today's age of the transfer
- 1:43:35transfer for portal. Even head coach of Yukon Danny Hurley, uh commands you
- 1:43:42Greg, And I was discussing before the show. He says that the portal
- 1:43:45h is just misguided. It basically it's like changing underwear. What do you
- 1:43:53say, commands skills shouldn't be changing underwear where you're just changing every day.
- 1:44:00All we talk about is a transfer portal. Guys and ladies transferring basically financially,
- 1:44:10because it's not like they were not starting or not winning the Big Ten
- 1:44:14Player of the year. It's just now this school. But now he goes
- 1:44:17to Arkansas. He's excited, but he doesn't have a team, and the
- 1:44:26basketball the college basketball season starts roughly win late October late October, So between
- 1:44:35now and October, he's got to install a coaching staff. I'd imagine,
- 1:44:42Oh, that'd be easy. Guy like him, I'm saying, But he
- 1:44:45still got to do it. Get him in place, and then everybody's got
- 1:44:48to hit the ground recruiting, and then we've got to find people who are
- 1:44:54not already playing for this team this season. Now, I might come get
- 1:44:58with you after this season, coach. You know, I'll transfer next season,
- 1:45:01but this season I can't help you. So will he be able to
- 1:45:05field a competitive squad for this basketball season? Or are we just going to
- 1:45:12see Arkansas do a whole bunch of that rebuilding talk we're going through. We
- 1:45:15got to get us some of those we're gonna need fourteen to fifteen million.
- 1:45:19Are we bracing for that? I think he's going to make it happen.
- 1:45:25I think this is the challenge. You know, he said he wants a
- 1:45:28challenge, Kenny, this is the digital challenge. Now, is there any
- 1:45:31bigger scale than when he was at Kentucky? Because it was a lot of
- 1:45:34one and done players coming through the program, So it was a new team
- 1:45:39every year, and now it's on the scale. Well, now he's got
- 1:45:43a it's it's from the beginning. It's a whole new team. So if
- 1:45:46he's get out and recruit or get those guys that were committed to Kentucky to
- 1:45:53that some players have reopened their recruitment because he left. And that's what I
- 1:45:58wanted to know. Now that he's gone, are there some people that can
- 1:46:00go, hey, look Georgia, Well he can. He can poach Kentucky
- 1:46:05for a couple of players easily because because of the transfer portal, and then
- 1:46:13as COMMANDI Greg is eluding, he was already recruiting a couple of guys that
- 1:46:19we're going to Kentucky, probably for him, not to Kentucky, for Kentucky.
- 1:46:26So I'm definitely you imagine if it's for those guys, two of them
- 1:46:31easily just just rip up right that and or package up that Kentucky stuff and
- 1:46:38send it back. Then had a guy from Kentucky waiting at the airport for
- 1:46:42with the sign in his hand, and they're already on their way to Arkansas,
- 1:46:48headed Theville. So a challenge ahead of him. Arkansas, the staff,
- 1:46:54I'm quite sure over there they're desperate for some winning, get Arkansas basketball
- 1:46:59back to where it was once, especially when what's my man name was down
- 1:47:03there, Nolan Nola Richardson forty minutes of hell is what he called. He
- 1:47:13was gonna give you out there on the court. So John Kyler Perry Moving
- 1:47:16on, Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glenn Taylor felt like that a Rod and his group
- 1:47:26that was trying to purchase the Timberwolves were not going to live up to what
- 1:47:33he had already established. Basically, in a nutshell, that's what he he
- 1:47:39was thinking about selling the team. But y'all, yeah, y'are not fin
- 1:47:44to ruin my legacy this way. They were going to not put in the
- 1:47:47same kind of financial support that he had already established the ground, and so
- 1:47:53he pulled the deal off the table. Sounds reasonable, correct, Yeah,
- 1:47:59yeah, I mean they looked at first, it's like, oh, they
- 1:48:00don't have the money, but then they went and got the money. And
- 1:48:03but then he saw what they were doing. Wonda. One of our listeners,
- 1:48:09my uncle Charlie Johnson, said all he got was some piglets. Talking
- 1:48:12about calip He said he was looking for hogs. All he got with some
- 1:48:15piglets piclics to say they flavor for if you catch it right. Nice slow
- 1:48:25roast them, you know. Yeah, that's not like something make you brushing,
- 1:48:30brushing, brushing out, rotating them. No, can't leave too much
- 1:48:35one, don't hate on the piglet something said. I'm just saying we got
- 1:48:41to start somewhere. We'll be back with more than sports talk show right after
- 1:48:45this. He's some song can't be so misday you don't go away, or

- 1:49:41coverage represents a critical piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually
- 1:49:45have life insurance. When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:49:48just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever life insurance. Well,
- 1:49:51what's the last thing on my mind? What about you? Will you

- 1:53:27and it's not the traditional what we would think flip phone. This is more
- 1:53:30of the fold phone, the you know, where it opens up and it
- 1:53:34looks like the smartphones that we're accustomed to now, but you can fold it
- 1:53:39in half. Uh. And from what I've seen, these are good models
- 1:53:44and they work so We'll see how it goes. I don't know if I'd
- 1:53:47want Coach Prime just calling me out the blue every week. You know,
- 1:53:51I can't can I schedule when he called me to motivate because you know,
- 1:53:56he out in Colorado, so he might be a late. Now I'm gonna
- 1:54:00be up and I'm gonna send it out at ten pm my time, but
- 1:54:02by then it's my time and I'm trying to sleep and be motivated for morning,
- 1:54:09coach, and you interrupted my sleep. So we'll see how it goes.
- 1:54:13Yeah, we'll see what Coach Prime's bring you. And I'm like you,
- 1:54:16Vic Kenny, do I get How do I get to dictate? And
- 1:54:19that's why I said I didn't say how long it would go, like right,
- 1:54:23is it just the first couple of weeks when you have it? But
- 1:54:27we will see. Are you gonna give me the same message? Oh man,
- 1:54:29you motivated me that way before coach. Former NFL player future Hall of
- 1:54:34Famer Terrell Suggs arrested Tuesday in Scottsdale, Arizona, two charges where it looks
- 1:54:43like he branded sticking a gun out of the window at a Starbucks, charged
- 1:54:50with threatening and intimidating. It's early conduct with the weapon? What did they
- 1:54:56give him a discount? They don't want a discount. No, no,
- 1:55:00I want a discount, and they willn't have jumped the Gunplay about it?
- 1:55:04Hold on, hold on, are you trying to save me money? You
- 1:55:09think this is a game? What? What? What did? Surely they
- 1:55:13asked him why he did it? Surely there was some explanation behind his actions?
- 1:55:18What what was his reasoning for at Starbucks? I got superheated, I
- 1:55:24said, what large fit takes? It looks like maybe he ran into someone.
- 1:55:29As the story is saying, Suggs began to pull out of the drive
- 1:55:33through. He stopped his car stuck a handgun out of the driver's side window.
- 1:55:39The gun was never pointed at the other man, according to police,
- 1:55:42but the man took suggs action as a threat or shugs. Suggs could drive
- 1:55:49off. The driver of the other car wrote down his license plate number.
- 1:55:56M I would take it as a three man. I was just playing man
- 1:56:01who you know from the hood? Play like you know, you know how
- 1:56:04me and Jahn Morant? You know you didn't play like that? Command you
- 1:56:10you just play like that. There's dashcre footage. I'm just saying we just
- 1:56:14play like that. I was just josh joking. You're all sensitive, man,
- 1:56:18that moved wrong with the now generation playing today making all funny because I
- 1:56:24pull a gun out on you can we laugh and we laugh. Nobody plays
- 1:56:30that way that I know. I don't know any people that brandish guns and
- 1:56:32be like a gotcha. Yeah, I don't know if that's really you know,
- 1:56:39it wasn't loaded acting like it was loaded most guns. I mean,
- 1:56:44that's what I'm saying. I just got to take your word for that.
- 1:56:46It's like a translator. It's not loaded up. A statement said I was
- 1:56:55getting coffee. I was not looking for any trouble. When the man in
- 1:56:58the other vehicle escalat a the situation, I feared for my safety, not
- 1:57:02knowing what his intentions were. Throughout the incident, I was the one who
- 1:57:06felt in danger while fearing I would be followed home and for the safety of
- 1:57:11my family nearby my residence. Oh yeah, bruh, you talked to a
- 1:57:16lawyer, but you we put too much on it. Ter real that was
- 1:57:20that was real specific, and you know what I'm saying. That sounded like
- 1:57:25a prepared statement. You should have done, man. I was scared.
- 1:57:28I thought he was gonna kill me. I was a level though, in
- 1:57:31fear that he may follow me the six point thirty seven two miles to my
- 1:57:36home in the heels of yeah, yeah, you you kind of I was
- 1:57:40just getting a low fat latte and then you come up there bothering me,
- 1:57:46and you know how, I have to make sure y'all know how it is
- 1:57:48define bothering you, like pulling out in front of you. That's what I'm
- 1:57:54saying. He said. The car was pulling out and then all of a
- 1:57:58sudden, the gunplay started. I'm still confused. Kansas City Chief Wide Receiver
- 1:58:03she Rice faces eight charges, including aggravated assault, after he and another speeding
- 1:58:09driver of a sports card calls a chain reaction crash. We've been waiting on
- 1:58:16to see if there was gonna be some charges in this case twenty three year
- 1:58:20old Rice. We know that he for about two days kind of left the
- 1:58:26scene, wasn't seen. Then he went and turned himself in at the station.
- 1:58:31Been fully cooperative. I guess he saw CAM sudden lose his job and
- 1:58:38he was like, at the very least, just go throw yourself on the
- 1:58:41mercy baby. At the very man, I'm here I'm at least I ain't
- 1:58:45doing that. At least I'm here. Yeah, I ain't looking for me.
- 1:58:48But you imagine that charges we're gonna follow leaving the scene causing an accident.
- 1:58:56It was supposed to be speeding, reckless driving between the two cars.
- 1:59:01So we will see how this is turning. And after the incident two or
- 1:59:06three years ago with the receiver for the Raiders, Henry Ruggs, Hemmy Ruggs,
- 1:59:12you got to be on high alert. Got to be the president.
- 1:59:15It's like trying to start a dog fighting ring out the Michael Vick. If
- 1:59:20the president has already been set wrong wrong, Yeah, you got the wrong
- 1:59:25game. You And in addition to rah Rice being charged with eight counts for
- 1:59:30that accident, the driver of the corvette as well has been charged with assesses.
- 1:59:39And I think sometimes that's where the water gets muddy. Someone would tell
- 1:59:45him, hey, she Rice has got the resources to keep himself out of
- 1:59:48jail. You need to start making sure that you can keep yourself out of
- 1:59:54jail. And then things happen and we are in the ocean. The truth
- 2:00:00is he will throw your to the ocean. It's time to wrap things up.
- 2:00:04On the Sports Jug show with Wayne Gandy when you designed an ocean to
- 2:00:21give the sports shot just a minute to Vin, We'd like to thank you
- 2:00:25for tuning in to today's show any minute, any segment today or Monday.
- 2:00:30We appreciate it greatly. As we go off air. If you missed any
- 2:00:35of the shows this week, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon podcast These are
- 2:00:43audible and iHeart radio. I was taught to respect my elders, even when
- 2:00:51they are wrong, you can offer them some respect. Well, I'm gonna
- 2:00:58have to break that rule today. Still you have my respect, but you
- 2:01:04lost some Tuesday night, entering the Hawks heat game, going through security,
- 2:01:13the legend Bernard King of the Knicks was entering before me. At first I
- 2:01:21thought it was some ninety year old man because his knees so bad. He
- 2:01:28was barely moving with his walking stick. Barnard's only sixty seven, but he
- 2:01:31was moving like he was ninety. And he decided that he would tell the
- 2:01:38security guy who was checking us that he was Bernard King and he was specially
- 2:01:45invited here by the Hawks. Now this was unsolicited. He averaged twenty two
- 2:01:49points a game, and he played for fourteen years. I said, that's
- 2:01:55kind of odd. To kind of give a bio. When the man all
- 2:02:00keys and wallat, he's in phone. We take a couple of more steps,
- 2:02:05we get to the ticket guy. You know, we were at security.
- 2:02:09Now we're at the ticket guy. As he tried to pull out and
- 2:02:14pull up the ticket, as you would imagine an old man would do,
- 2:02:18he didn't have it ready, so we had to sit down. He asked
- 2:02:24the ticket man could he sit to find his ticket, And as he said,
- 2:02:30he told the young man his name was Bernard King. He averaged twenty
- 2:02:33two points a game. He played fourteen years for the Knicks, and the
- 2:02:40Hawks had invited him there to watch the game. And as you can imagine,
- 2:02:47sports shock that was in all he thought. He thought he got the
- 2:02:55keta, He got the keta. He just keeps saying the same thing.
- 2:02:58Oh no, I don't know if that's his, moniker, I don't know
- 2:03:01if that's his his ever introduced myself with all that stuff, But Bernard was
- 2:03:10taking the time to make sure you knew who he was, what he did,
- 2:03:13where he was from, and why he was in the building. The
- 2:03:15six foot nine didn't help nobody, So I just remember that it was so
- 2:03:23impactful. Bernard that's just not they don't recognize you, bro, They just
- 2:03:30don't recognize you. Keep it moving. So for that, what would it
- 2:03:35be self gratificate granted randioso again? Self grandizement? Yeah, self a grandizement.
- 2:03:46That's why we're throwing mister Bernard King in the ocean. Fuck up,
- 2:03:50clank and one day I do hope they put an R team in the Hall
- 2:04:06of Fame. He hasn't reached that level yet. But even though he had
- 2:04:11a lot of knee injuries the years that he did play, he was a
- 2:04:15bad boy for the Sportshock show. Command you, Greg, Big Kenny the
