- 0:06Speaker 1: by Oliver the Pauls join us for a cozy chat
- 0:08Speaker 1: about sports, laughter and the spirit of Christmas.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Alive from the Pauls Studio.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Here's Jacob Hester and not from Christmas.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I give you next day, you give him to step its.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Sash y Christmas, I give you all.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Right, welcome back in our number three of O TB. See,
- 0:41Speaker 3: we didn't forget this week. We knew that it was Tuesday.
- 0:45Speaker 3: We knew it was nine o'clock, and we knew our
- 0:48Speaker 3: guy Nick Underhill New one Football he's gonna be waiting
- 0:51Speaker 3: by the phone.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we called him on time this week. That
- 0:55Speaker 2: was on us last week. Nice.
- 0:57Speaker 3: But you know what you gotta do. You gotta watch
- 0:58Speaker 3: it tape, get a film study, you do. And so
- 1:03Speaker 3: we're back like we never left. Nicholas, How are we doing, sir?
- 1:07Speaker 4: Doing great? Doing great? How you guys doing.
- 1:09Speaker 2: We're doing good. We're doing good. Tough week, tough week
- 1:14Speaker 2: for the Saints.
- 1:15Speaker 3: You know, there's been a lot of a lot of
- 1:17Speaker 3: glee here on the show with Lane Kevin coming to town.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Uh, you know mentioned the Saints yesterday.
- 1:21Speaker 5: We did.
- 1:22Speaker 2: We talked about it for a little bit there.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Uh, in a game like that, and I know there's
- 1:27Speaker 3: half the fan base that probably wants a better draft choice,
- 1:29Speaker 3: and I completely understand that. But in a game that
- 1:32Speaker 3: tried to give itself to you like six different times,
- 1:36Speaker 3: and you couldn't take advantage of any of the six.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Man as a former player, and somebody knows how hard
- 1:42Speaker 3: it is to win in the NFL, that was tough
- 1:43Speaker 3: to watch.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's an idiot that talks about him on
- 1:47Speaker 4: the radio. I mean they put the plays on tape
- 1:49Speaker 4: and you can imagine him getting caught and hey, look,
- 1:52Speaker 4: Kyler shuck made the game win and throw, but they
- 1:54Speaker 4: didn't plait it and make up their draft position. So
- 1:57Speaker 4: now I can go watch ours can imagine that picture
- 2:00Speaker 4: how he might fit in on the defense of Jordan's tyson.
- 2:03Speaker 4: And you know it's not all bad. I mean, you
- 2:06Speaker 4: got to get that catch. I mean that's kind of
- 2:08Speaker 4: concerning that. That's two of them. Now, a lot of
- 2:10Speaker 4: a uh Patriots in this one where he could have
- 2:14Speaker 4: made a game winning catch and you know it just
- 2:15Speaker 4: didn't didn't work out. What a better play but I
- 2:18Speaker 4: mean that that's what he's you know, campaigning for and
- 2:22Speaker 4: if you want to be a classic guy, you got
- 2:24Speaker 4: to catch some balls. Like it's just kind of is
- 2:26Speaker 4: what it is. I mean, I think I'm kind of
- 2:28Speaker 4: encouraged by by Chuck. I mean, I think there's definitely
- 2:30Speaker 4: still ways that, uh, you know, it could go bad.
- 2:34Speaker 4: I think you see the ceiling, you know, go up
- 2:36Speaker 4: a little bit though within there's definitely some plays but
- 2:39Speaker 4: like leaving the clean pockets that it's kind of a
- 2:42Speaker 4: kind of starting to become an issue for me. You know,
- 2:44Speaker 4: the interception was bad, the pick too. I think Byle
- 2:48Speaker 4: kind of you know, gave up that route a little bit,
- 2:50Speaker 4: but also a better bucket of what did that? You know,
- 2:53Speaker 4: So there's definitely room room for growth. I think he
- 2:55Speaker 4: plays and plays his way into pressure and into some
- 2:58Speaker 4: stacks and you know, only stuff that's got to get better.
- 3:01Speaker 4: But I don't know, I mean, I ended up finding
- 3:04Speaker 4: that to be kind of like a compelling game. You know.
- 3:07Speaker 4: I thought the first off was probably as bad as
- 3:09Speaker 4: we've seen like at all this season, all the way
- 3:12Speaker 4: across the board, But I ended up turning around a
- 3:14Speaker 4: little bit, and you know, I think I remain encouraged.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I am, but he's gonna you know, really, he's gonna
- 3:20Speaker 4: have to play his way. You know, he could play
- 3:24Speaker 4: the same side of the conversation of looking at these
- 3:27Speaker 4: quarterbacks and do it like you gotta beat probably the
- 3:29Speaker 4: Jets and the Titans. I think if you can't beat
- 3:31Speaker 4: the Jets and the Titans, maybe you don't have an
- 3:35Speaker 4: answer there and you should be listening. So it's kind
- 3:37Speaker 4: of it's kind of like a problem that solves himself,
- 3:39Speaker 4: I think. But on the other topic, man like line Kiffin,
- 3:44Speaker 4: like that's awesome. Like having the villain like be the
- 3:47Speaker 4: head coach. It's just like the greatest thing ever. And
- 3:51Speaker 4: you know, I've always been interested in them, but like
- 3:54Speaker 4: just kind of seeing the reaction and everything, and look,
- 3:56Speaker 4: I think it like totally sucks for Ole miss and
- 3:59Speaker 4: those those kids and all that stuff like so so
- 4:01Speaker 4: I definitely feel bad for them. But like having the
- 4:04Speaker 4: bad guy like you know, and you know, it's kind
- 4:06Speaker 4: of like the tem Payton thing, like Okay, cool, you
- 4:08Speaker 4: don't like him doing the skall clop like you know whatever,
- 4:11Speaker 4: you know, f you like that, that's that's that's the
- 4:13Speaker 4: guy here. Like it's great so yeah, man, I'm I'm
- 4:17Speaker 4: it's compelling. Uh Like yeah, I just like I'm locked in.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I'm like following the recruiting like it's it's just awesome.
- 4:24Speaker 4: It's a it's a it's a it's a cool thing
- 4:26Speaker 4: to this state, like to have some football excitement with
- 4:28Speaker 4: one of the two big teams.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Yeah, because I know you're locked into so much NFL
- 4:33Speaker 6: and and the Saints obviously, I know you don't get
- 4:36Speaker 6: a chance to kind of like dive into college that
- 4:39Speaker 6: much or ls you that much, but like it's been unavoidable, right,
- 4:42Speaker 6: says whole length given the saga has been amazing. So
- 4:46Speaker 6: I mean you just kind of gave us your thoughts,
- 4:47Speaker 6: but like how much have you been able to kind
- 4:50Speaker 6: of follow and like what's intrigued to you the most
- 4:52Speaker 6: about this whole coaching hire for issue?
- 4:56Speaker 4: Well, first of all, no, yeah, I got I got
- 4:58Speaker 4: I got one hundred h TV and two sixties on
- 5:00Speaker 4: the wall. I got three college games out every Saturday.
- 5:03Speaker 4: I record every single one. I've spending a lot of
- 5:06Speaker 4: my week watching them, you know, especially even more this
- 5:09Speaker 4: year just kind of like with where the Saints are
- 5:11Speaker 4: probably headed. You know, some some years like when they're
- 5:14Speaker 4: doing good, Like you kind of fall behind on it, don't,
- 5:16Speaker 4: you know, put as much in, but like top ten, pick,
- 5:18Speaker 4: top five, pick, Like I feel like I have a
- 5:20Speaker 4: responsibility to know everything. Saturdays, I've been going to college games.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I just had the biggest busted all time at Arizona
- 5:29Speaker 4: State with Jordan Tyson getting part in the second quarter
- 5:32Speaker 4: and not being able to watch him. We're not going
- 5:34Speaker 4: to just kind of put eyes on him. But look,
- 5:36Speaker 4: the coaching search is like it's just like the whole
- 5:40Speaker 4: thing is amazing to me, Like it just kind of
- 5:43Speaker 4: seeing how it played out and all that, and I think,
- 5:46Speaker 4: look like this is a team where people can say
- 5:49Speaker 4: whatever the collectors and all stuff, but like that, there's
- 5:52Speaker 4: two or three jobs that I think are the absolute
- 5:54Speaker 4: peaking them out. And then you know, I'm not revealing
- 5:57Speaker 4: any like fresh spots here like Texas, Georgia, like uh,
- 6:00Speaker 4: you know, there's a couple of teams where it's like
- 6:02Speaker 4: they're right there. And then I think Alice, she's like
- 6:03Speaker 4: the very next one. And when you can go out
- 6:05Speaker 4: and you can get a guy from Notre Dame and
- 6:06Speaker 4: you can get the guy from almost like I don't
- 6:08Speaker 4: blame Lane Kiffin. And here's like the thing that I
- 6:11Speaker 4: think like six like obviously, yes, when you're fifty years old,
- 6:14Speaker 4: like there's decisions you have to make where there's a
- 6:16Speaker 4: cost to it and you don't get to, you know,
- 6:19Speaker 4: have your cake and eat it. Like that's just kind
- 6:21Speaker 4: of part of being an adult. You got to make
- 6:22Speaker 4: these tough decisions. And he made one in the consquences
- 6:25Speaker 4: he doesn't get to coach shot this eleven in one season,
- 6:27Speaker 4: and I'm sure that's very painful for him. I'm sure
- 6:30Speaker 4: it's way more painful for the people you left behind.
- 6:33Speaker 4: But with the way this this, this this schedule setup,
- 6:37Speaker 4: like it makes no stetch and everyone's like, well just wait,
- 6:40Speaker 4: it's going to open in the future. Well, like, guess
- 6:42Speaker 4: what if Lsh's gonna want you, or Alabama's gonna want you,
- 6:45Speaker 4: or Texas is gonna want you, or George's gonna want you,
- 6:47Speaker 4: Like you have to be having a good season, and
- 6:51Speaker 4: that means you're probably in the playoff, which means to
- 6:54Speaker 4: ever move up, you have to abandon a team or
- 6:56Speaker 4: you're choosing to be stuck at this place forever. And look,
- 6:59Speaker 4: you he can win all mess Like that's that's done.
- 7:01Speaker 4: The dumbest conversation is like can you do this, Well,
- 7:03Speaker 4: he's doing it right now, but can you do it
- 7:05Speaker 4: as consistently? Like no, Like, go look at their recruiting classes.
- 7:09Speaker 4: They were like thirty fourths first year, then like seventeen fifteen, fifteen,
- 7:12Speaker 4: fifteenth or something like that over the swing years. And
- 7:16Speaker 4: then you go look at the same list and the
- 7:18Speaker 4: very first name on top of the entree rankings. When
- 7:21Speaker 4: LSU doesn't have a coach, the kids committed to Dallas. Shoot,
- 7:24Speaker 4: that's the difference. Like people commit to the institution even
- 7:27Speaker 4: more so than the coach. But then you put the
- 7:29Speaker 4: two together and it's gasoline on the fire. And I
- 7:32Speaker 4: mean like if you're if you're a coach and you
- 7:34Speaker 4: have aspirations, like obviously like the do the jobs you
- 7:37Speaker 4: dream about like they are the signature one and to
- 7:40Speaker 4: get there, you got to do it. But guess what,
- 7:42Speaker 4: Like at the end of this thing, we've seen how
- 7:44Speaker 4: he's left every place. He's gonna leave him probably the
- 7:47Speaker 4: worst possible fashion to go coach in the NFL or
- 7:49Speaker 4: something else. And LSU's gonna be in the playoff, he's
- 7:52Speaker 4: gonna stop mariting the season and you're gonna have the
- 7:54Speaker 4: same reaction here. But like you know what, man, like
- 7:56Speaker 4: if you make a deal with the devil, you got
- 7:58Speaker 4: to be comfortable with a little bit of heat. Hot
- 8:00Speaker 4: is how in Louisiana, so like until until then, like
- 8:03Speaker 4: it is what it is, So like we know how
- 8:05Speaker 4: to deal with it down here, and you know, just
- 8:07Speaker 4: enjoy their rides. Well a lost did.
- 8:08Speaker 3: That is such a good way to say it, like
- 8:10Speaker 3: because we do, like in Louisiana, we do know how
- 8:13Speaker 3: to deal with it. Like, it's just different down here.
- 8:15Speaker 3: And I think we all understand that. And if in
- 8:18Speaker 3: four or five years, if it does go that way,
- 8:20Speaker 3: but you got a championship, we'll tip our cap to you.
- 8:23Speaker 3: We'll be like, all right, appreciate that. And you know
- 8:26Speaker 3: you got to move on and go find thinks it's
- 8:27Speaker 3: been different though, We'll go get the next Yeah, because
- 8:30Speaker 3: like Nick, you know this covering the Saints, Like people
- 8:32Speaker 3: in Louisiana, what do they want as much as almost anything,
- 8:35Speaker 3: they want to be good in football, whatever that looks like.
- 8:40Speaker 4: And like look, Sean Payton kind of left in the
- 8:42Speaker 4: same same fast and I mean, like I don't think
- 8:44Speaker 4: that gets talked about it enough that Miami literally lost
- 8:47Speaker 4: a first round pick because they were camper him with
- 8:50Speaker 4: the Saints coach and then like, you know, he kind
- 8:52Speaker 4: of he kind of just dipped and and you know,
- 8:54Speaker 4: I think people kind of not to deal with that
- 8:56Speaker 4: too obviously, Like there's her feelings. Didn't look at blatant leaves,
- 8:59Speaker 4: Like I expect the fan bases to be like houtti
- 9:02Speaker 4: as hell and it's gonna be nice, but like, yeah,
- 9:04Speaker 4: do you win in the meantime? Who cares like it
- 9:06Speaker 4: just kind of is what it is, and you know
- 9:07Speaker 4: what you're getting into and just have your eyes open
- 9:09Speaker 4: and don't fool yourself that he's your guy, because I
- 9:12Speaker 4: don't think he's anybody's guy. He's just he's a situationship
- 9:16Speaker 4: type person. Like he isn't marrying anyone, like whatever, that's fine.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Who cares like you just enjoy it. Well, last I
- 9:22Speaker 4: think he's the best guy for the job. I think
- 9:25Speaker 4: he's the perfect coach for this era. You know, his
- 9:28Speaker 4: ability to kind of turn himself into like a like
- 9:32Speaker 4: a social media savant and like a wrestling heel and
- 9:36Speaker 4: a great football coach all in one. Like I think
- 9:38Speaker 4: that's the perfect package. Shirt for twenty twenty five. You
- 9:41Speaker 4: know you're on Instagram. He's got thirty five ig stories
- 9:44Speaker 4: posted every single day, Like he just knows how to
- 9:47Speaker 4: keep himself out there and like that stuff is what
- 9:49Speaker 4: matters to the young people like I bring. It's a
- 9:52Speaker 4: cool factor that like you're just not getting anywhere else.
- 9:54Speaker 4: And he also happens to be a really good football
- 9:56Speaker 4: coach too, So I think that knocked it out of
- 9:59Speaker 4: the park here. You know, I think two hires in
- 10:03Speaker 4: a row. It's kind of like a guy that like
- 10:05Speaker 4: people dislike that they're completely different roles, Like Brian Kelly's
- 10:09Speaker 4: like a guy that made you like feel like ah, man,
- 10:11Speaker 4: that's that's the guy. And then like Lane's like yeah,
- 10:14Speaker 4: all right, like like you got the nw O guy here.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Like it's just I think he's like a perfect fit
- 10:24Speaker 4: for for for this place, Like it's kind of the
- 10:27Speaker 4: attitude of of you know, the state, and I think
- 10:31Speaker 4: I think it's a perfect fit, Like I really do.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I'm excited, you know, I'm I can't I can't wait
- 10:37Speaker 4: until they play all this next year. I mean it's
- 10:39Speaker 4: just all of it's gonna be amazing. It makes it
- 10:41Speaker 4: way more compelling, And yeah, I think it's gonna be fun.
- 10:45Speaker 6: It does bring a lot of new intrigue to that
- 10:48Speaker 6: old old matchup rivalry. I mean, it's it's it's a
- 10:52Speaker 6: really great point because it's l s U fans. Louisiana
- 10:56Speaker 6: fans can handle it because l s U is only
- 11:00Speaker 6: it's like one of the brands in college football. So
- 11:03Speaker 6: if Lane does go that route like he's kind of
- 11:05Speaker 6: done in the past, it's like, Okay, we'll just go
- 11:07Speaker 6: get the next best head coach in the country. Oh,
- 11:09Speaker 6: Miss is a little pissed about, a little sour about
- 11:11Speaker 6: it because they're like, well, we're all Miss, We're probably
- 11:14Speaker 6: not gonna get one of the best coaches out there,
- 11:16Speaker 6: so we just lost our opportunities. So it's just a difference,
- 11:19Speaker 6: and that's one of the like kind of highlights the
- 11:21Speaker 6: difference between the brands and why this decision was made
- 11:24Speaker 6: for Lane, whether it was hard or not, the decision
- 11:27Speaker 6: was made to come to a bigger brand, so LSU
- 11:29Speaker 6: always have a fallback for one of the best coaches
- 11:32Speaker 6: in the country. Let's let's circle us back to the
- 11:35Speaker 6: Saints for a second. Tyler Schuck and de von Vley,
- 11:39Speaker 6: are they the next Dante Culpepper?
- 11:41Speaker 4: And Randy Moss. It's insane that he played like that.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I can't believe it, Like I'm not like I thought
- 11:50Speaker 4: there was something in there, but I mean, man like,
- 11:51Speaker 4: he was nine to nine I think nine partners, nine touches.
- 11:55Speaker 4: He's snatching everything out of the air, like he's going
- 11:57Speaker 4: up and getting it, playing physical a turnaround, and it's
- 12:01Speaker 4: kind of unbelievable that that player was there the whole time.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I guess, like you end up finding it due to
- 12:06Speaker 4: circumstance and maybe his style of play if it's like
- 12:08Speaker 4: the way Shuck wants to tack to field a little
- 12:10Speaker 4: bit better. But what like what a performance? And if
- 12:13Speaker 4: that's what they're getting out of it, still don't necessarily
- 12:16Speaker 4: like trading for a twenty seven year old second year player,
- 12:19Speaker 4: But I mean the value of that that trade is
- 12:22Speaker 4: self evident and man like, do they ever need that
- 12:25Speaker 4: just to even be able to get the evaluation of
- 12:26Speaker 4: the quarterback? But you got to have some guys that
- 12:28Speaker 4: can catch the ball, and he's doing it, I mean,
- 12:33Speaker 4: what a what a what a drastic narrative change? Like
- 12:37Speaker 4: it's just kind of unbelievable, And yeah, like I really
- 12:40Speaker 4: like the way I like the way he plays. I
- 12:42Speaker 4: like that physical nature, you know, and I like the
- 12:44Speaker 4: way that I think that's one of the things that
- 12:46Speaker 4: that shuck does that's kind of attacks that middle area
- 12:49Speaker 4: of the field that you look at the throw charts
- 12:50Speaker 4: and you know that's that's deep deep red in that
- 12:54Speaker 4: area that that's primarily where he goes. And you know,
- 12:57Speaker 4: I think I think it's just an easier way to
- 12:59Speaker 4: play when you're kind of coloring in that middle of
- 13:01Speaker 4: the field, you know, the fastest but of the end
- 13:03Speaker 4: zones over the middle. So like, I like it. I
- 13:06Speaker 4: like the way he's doing it. And yeah, I mean
- 13:08Speaker 4: I think vle is a potentially a guy. I don't
- 13:11Speaker 4: think he's gonna have nine every week, but like if
- 13:13Speaker 4: he gives you four chesters for forty yards every single week,
- 13:16Speaker 4: like that's a that's a solid get for a four
- 13:18Speaker 4: round pick. So he's uh, he's spenning that around big time.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Hey, real quick. Last one, Nick, The Carolina Panthers. You've
- 13:27Speaker 3: seen so much of them, obviously them being in the
- 13:29Speaker 3: Saints Division. Actually one of my sons is a Carolina fans,
- 13:32Speaker 3: so I actually watch a lot of the Panthers too.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I've never seen a team be elite against the elite,
- 13:38Speaker 3: average against the average, and bad against bad, like this
- 13:40Speaker 3: Carolina pants.
- 13:41Speaker 2: They just beat the Rams, they.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Beat the Packers, Like, how do you explain this Carolina team?
- 13:48Speaker 4: I don't think you do. I mean, I like, I
- 13:51Speaker 4: don't get it. Like every time I'm like, you know,
- 13:53Speaker 4: watching the scoreboard, like what the hell is going up?
- 13:56Speaker 4: Like this team sucks, Like I don't get it easy,
- 13:59Speaker 4: like and then and then you'll catch like the highlight
- 14:01Speaker 4: and it's like Bryce Young killing it against some teams,
- 14:03Speaker 4: and then like the next week it's like, man, like
- 14:06Speaker 4: that's a that's a terrible take. Their screwed as a franchise.
- 14:09Speaker 4: I don't get it, very very confusing. I do think
- 14:12Speaker 4: their coaches is probably pretty good, Like he has a
- 14:15Speaker 4: solid tracker in Alconahas working with QPS in that so
- 14:19Speaker 4: if they can ever find some consistency, like man, that like,
- 14:23Speaker 4: they could be a really good team. I really like
- 14:25Speaker 4: the receiver team Mac. You know, he's a great example
- 14:28Speaker 4: of people overthinking the draft process, Like page great, all
- 14:31Speaker 4: this stuff's great. A couple of whispers about him not
- 14:33Speaker 4: practicing art out there at Arizona, and all of a sudden,
- 14:37Speaker 4: everyone starts talking to himself, s out of him and
- 14:39Speaker 4: lo and behold, like what do you put on pages? Would?
- 14:41Speaker 4: He's still putting on pape, So I think he's a
- 14:44Speaker 4: good lesson there. But yeah, very computing team. I don't
- 14:47Speaker 4: get them, you know, Like when the Saints played out,
- 14:51Speaker 4: it's like, all, well, shuck just did it against Carolina,
- 14:53Speaker 4: so what Like it's just so weird and they weren't
- 14:56Speaker 4: bad that day. It's not like he played great against
- 14:58Speaker 4: a great team like they we're a bad team that day.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I don't get it. Super confusing.
- 15:04Speaker 3: All right, there is a guy, Nick Underhill. New Orleans
- 15:06Speaker 3: dot Football is the site. Nobody covers the Saints like
- 15:09Speaker 3: our guy, Nick Underhill.
- 15:10Speaker 2: We appreciate it. Brother.
- 15:12Speaker 4: You guys got to get rid of that Christmas you
- 15:14Speaker 4: can play like some some n w O like like that.
- 15:18Speaker 3: It was only the opening of the hour. But trust
- 15:20Speaker 3: me when I say, Alandra, she'll crush it. She'll have
- 15:22Speaker 3: some nw theme music and uh hey, we're all in
- 15:25Speaker 3: on l s U being the n w O. All right,
- 15:30Speaker 3: all right, Nick Underhill, New Orleans dot Football.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Should we get shirts? Hoodies? We had to come up
- 15:37Speaker 2: with like some type of an n w O lane.
- 15:41Speaker 5: It like the Lane World Order.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Like that's you know, maybe maybe something we'll come up.
- 15:47Speaker 2: It is, oh for sure like it plays. But if
- 15:49Speaker 2: we're trying to keep the n W stop, that's not
- 15:55Speaker 2: good brainstorm.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do we don't you know, don't throw the
- 16:00Speaker 3: first idea out there and think it's gonna stick.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you know in l O. Can we just sorry
- 16:04Speaker 2: that all right, let's go.
- 16:04Speaker 3: To break because he's gonna run this more OTB when
- 16:07Speaker 3: we come back off the bench.
- 16:09Speaker 2: It's rude. Trash rangers dot com.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Remember on the website you can sign up for residential
- 16:14Speaker 3: commercial service. Also, you can check all those rolloff dumpsters
- 16:18Speaker 3: three different sizes to juice from. And if you're not
- 16:21Speaker 3: quite sure which size you need, pick up the phone
- 16:23Speaker 3: give me a call at two two five six one
- 16:25Speaker 3: two two four seven seven.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Hey, here is my project. Here's what I'm thinking.
- 16:29Speaker 3: And even if you under sell it and you fill
- 16:30Speaker 3: up your dumpster a little too fast, it'll come empty it.
- 16:33Speaker 2: They'll bring it back to you.

- 16:42Speaker 6: because I'm doing this right now, and I was shocked
- 16:43Speaker 6: at it because it's the first company I've seen do
- 16:45Speaker 6: this flat rate pricing for the rolloff dumpsters too. No
- 16:47Speaker 6: matter what size it is, they're gonna give you a
- 16:49Speaker 6: flat rate. I mean, they're gonna charge you one price.
- 16:51Speaker 6: And the price they tell you they're gonna charge you
- 16:52Speaker 6: when they drop it off or before they do, is
- 16:54Speaker 6: the price they're gonna charge you when they pick it up.
- 16:56Speaker 6: Not they're gonna be like, wow, there was a there
- 16:58Speaker 6: was actually a dumping fee. There was a Lamb way
- 17:00Speaker 6: in mind. But whatever, they're not going to do that.
- 17:03Speaker 6: It's one price and that's what it is. And that's
- 17:05Speaker 6: the first time I've ever dealt with a roll off
- 17:07Speaker 6: dumpster company that deals that.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Go check them out. Trash Rangers dot Com. Shoe Shine.
- 17:34Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves gets off the

- 19:04Speaker 3: trying to find uh an n W O angle here.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Have you gotten there yet? But Elandra was doing the
- 19:10Speaker 3: grunt work behind the scenes to come up with the
- 19:12Speaker 3: best acronym, so we'll get.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I just did a uh.
- 19:16Speaker 7: Nightmare with offense, okay, the best.
- 19:19Speaker 2: So far offense Okay.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Actually the Nasty world order you had? What was the
- 19:25Speaker 3: offensive one was it had new world of offense of offense.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Okay, so I just did a logo and chad GBT.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 19:33Speaker 6: I don't know if there's any like you can't fit
- 19:35Speaker 6: a square peg in a round hole here with too
- 19:37Speaker 6: many acronyms, so maybe just go away from the acronym.
- 19:40Speaker 6: I just put in the in the way n w
- 19:43Speaker 6: O logo used to like the L s U. Then
- 19:46Speaker 6: new conference Order? What about that you feeling?
- 19:50Speaker 5: Wait?
- 19:50Speaker 7: Why conference? Why new conference order?
- 19:54Speaker 2: Because we're at the top.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I actually think like, okay, I see, yeah, but you
- 19:58Speaker 3: were onto something. But I don't think you just do the
- 19:59Speaker 3: L shoe letters in the nWo five and everybody knows
- 20:04Speaker 3: what we're talking about.
- 20:05Speaker 2: It kind of yeah.
- 20:08Speaker 8: Maybe so wait so did it already?
- 20:11Speaker 2: Yeah? Since that sins too, it's all right. I mean
- 20:14Speaker 2: those first shot out of the m hmmm.
- 20:18Speaker 8: I don't hate it.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Hey.
- 20:19Speaker 6: I also want to bring up that, Yes, when I
- 20:22Speaker 6: was talking about trash ranger, I did say land mines.
- 20:25Speaker 2: It's on me meant landfill. You said land mines. I did. Yep,
- 20:30Speaker 2: it's tough.
- 20:30Speaker 6: You don't want to explode your trash, No.
- 20:34Speaker 2: No hidden bombs underneath the ground. It's not good.
- 20:36Speaker 6: Don't want to do that. Yeah, they think it meant
- 20:38Speaker 6: landfill kind of dangerous on land mines.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Guess what. People still talking about it.
- 20:44Speaker 3: It's like the billboard does advertising work. Boom just did
- 20:49Speaker 3: ah Mic drop.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Land mines? Think about it?
- 20:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, NCW doesn't make any sense, Daniel.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I mean it was a I don't know what Flynn's
- 21:01Speaker 2: doing over there.
- 21:03Speaker 3: When I say n c W, Yeah, you said a
- 21:06Speaker 3: new conference something, yeah or whatever you.
- 21:10Speaker 6: Conference orders guys, Boom stone him.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Guys, I'm gonna start.
- 21:19Speaker 8: Hearing tomatoes around and.
- 21:20Speaker 5: Just throw them.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I'm a published author, either of you.
- 21:24Speaker 7: Whenever y'all make a bad dad joke, I'm gonna just
- 21:27Speaker 7: carry to me.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Let's don't do that. Let's don't do that. We do
- 21:30Speaker 2: that pretty early and often.
- 21:31Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Let's hey, we're also forty, we're dads. He wears a vest.
- 21:41Speaker 7: It's like sticking your leg out.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Like starting to understand.
- 21:49Speaker 8: Such a great analogy.
- 21:51Speaker 6: I'd say it was about six years ago or so
- 21:54Speaker 6: when I discovered a vest. Change man never looked back.
- 22:01Speaker 6: I bet Lane wears vests.
- 22:04Speaker 8: He feels like a vest.
- 22:05Speaker 2: See him wearing a vest. Yeah, everybody should wear a vesta.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I feel like he did jump into the yoga game pretty.
- 22:12Speaker 8: Quick, like was already at yoga.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Yeah, And so it was funny I found that out
- 22:17Speaker 3: and I'm like, and I was sitting with Michael Bonnette
- 22:19Speaker 3: yesterday and I was like, wait, we did yoga Lottis too, right.
- 22:22Speaker 2: He's like, oh, yeah, that's right.
- 22:24Speaker 3: It's right because when we first got here, we did
- 22:26Speaker 3: karate on Wednesday nights in the summertime, and then it
- 22:29Speaker 3: changed our last year to yoga Lottis and we used
- 22:33Speaker 3: to do it in the endoor and we did it
- 22:35Speaker 3: for like an hour at least.
- 22:37Speaker 6: Yeah, And you want to see a bunch of like, uh,
- 22:39Speaker 6: you know, premier athletes who are in really good shape,
- 22:41Speaker 6: struggle and get their asses kicked in a workout, work
- 22:45Speaker 6: some muscles you hadn't worked, and the way you hadn't.
- 22:48Speaker 2: See some people that you thought should be flexible that aren't.
- 22:52Speaker 6: Ye see a lot of people sweating, a lot of
- 22:55Speaker 6: a lot of world class athletes sweat popping out of
- 22:58Speaker 6: their foreheads because they're stretching the hammies.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's fun. So he's already hit the ground running.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Actually, Like I enjoyed that from Nick kind of getting
- 23:08Speaker 3: away from the Saints, maybe because the Saints are so
- 23:10Speaker 3: bad and it was refreshing to have.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Nick's opinion on something else.
- 23:14Speaker 3: But like we talked about it yesterday, man like, yeah,
- 23:19Speaker 3: you're gonna be hated by everybody. And what was LSU
- 23:21Speaker 3: supposed to do? Not go hire the best head coach?
- 23:25Speaker 3: No Verge Josbury had a job to do. It was
- 23:30Speaker 3: go get the best coach you possibly could. Was there
- 23:33Speaker 3: going to be some things that turned into a little
- 23:35Speaker 3: bit of a messy situation. It was now Ole miss
- 23:39Speaker 3: was never gonna let Lane coach. But Version carries like, yeah, sure,
- 23:42Speaker 3: if you want to go coach, you coach, Like we
- 23:44Speaker 3: just want you to be our head coach. LSU had
- 23:48Speaker 3: to go get the best guy possible. And we're talking
- 23:50Speaker 3: about like who the five best coaches. Well, you weren't
- 23:53Speaker 3: getting Kirby, right, You're not getting Ryan Day, not getting Signetti.
- 23:58Speaker 3: We said, Lane Kiff, it's the top five coach the country.
- 24:00Speaker 3: You're not going to go hire the notre dame guy again.
- 24:03Speaker 3: You just tried that. So in the top five, Lane
- 24:08Speaker 3: Kiffin's in that you go do everything you can to
- 24:11Speaker 3: get Lane Kiffin, So like on My Serious exem show yesterday, like,
- 24:17Speaker 3: oh my gosh, like the messages that I got.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Sorry, it is what it is.
- 24:23Speaker 3: And if anybody can block out the outside noise because
- 24:28Speaker 3: they don't care and all they care about is what's
- 24:31Speaker 3: happening within the state, it's LSU and Louisiana fans.
- 24:36Speaker 6: Yeah, a couple of things yesterday intrigued me. From the
- 24:41Speaker 6: press conference, multiple things intrigued me. But when he was
- 24:48Speaker 6: talking about I don't remember the format or how exactly
- 24:51Speaker 6: the question was stated, but like over all the the
- 24:54Speaker 6: athletic directors that you've spoken to, you know, oh miss Florida,
- 25:00Speaker 6: the unknown fourth maybe it's U c LA.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I don't know, But from all.
- 25:04Speaker 6: The conversations you had, what was the messaging from Verge
- 25:09Speaker 6: that stuck out to you?
- 25:10Speaker 2: At first?
- 25:11Speaker 6: He kind of joked a little bit about, well, you know,
- 25:13Speaker 6: verges straight to the point.
- 25:15Speaker 2: He likes to talk.
- 25:16Speaker 6: He doesn't say a whole lot, but he's straight to
- 25:18Speaker 6: the point, which he liked, and he kind of joked
- 25:19Speaker 6: about that because I'm sure a lot of ads out
- 25:21Speaker 6: there love to hear their own voice. I love to
- 25:24Speaker 6: hear their own opinions, he said, But The thing that
- 25:28Speaker 6: really stuck out to me was Verge saying, it's your
- 25:32Speaker 6: team and we're not going to tell you how to
- 25:36Speaker 6: do your job. I'm paraphrasing here. Of course you're you're
- 25:39Speaker 6: it's your team. You don't have to hear from us.
- 25:41Speaker 6: We're not control you. You go and do your thing.
- 25:43Speaker 6: You be the head coach. You're not gonna hear from
- 25:45Speaker 6: anybody else. And he's like, I like that as a
- 25:49Speaker 6: as a head coach, of course. And that was kind
- 25:52Speaker 6: of the fear I think from LSU. And the messy
- 25:55Speaker 6: is like the two or three weeks of just absolute
- 25:58Speaker 6: s show messiness from LSU and Louisiana with the governor
- 26:02Speaker 6: and all the board and all this stuff, that all
- 26:05Speaker 6: this just outside noise that of course we talked about
- 26:07Speaker 6: a ton on this show because that was news at
- 26:10Speaker 6: the time. All that is like forgotten and it's like
- 26:13Speaker 6: as messy as it. People thought it might be the
- 26:16Speaker 6: fact that Lane said all he had to call with
- 26:18Speaker 6: the governor, he had all these talks and they said,
- 26:22Speaker 6: point blank, it's your team.
- 26:24Speaker 2: You're not gonna hear from any of us. Go run
- 26:26Speaker 2: it how you want to run it.
- 26:27Speaker 6: And that's exactly what a head coach wants and if
- 26:29Speaker 6: you're not gonna get that, you're not gonna get one
- 26:32Speaker 6: of the best head coaches. So that was like really
- 26:35Speaker 6: intriguing to me that it's like, you know, Verge, of course,
- 26:37Speaker 6: like Verge is a guy's guy. He's a former player,
- 26:39Speaker 6: he loves LSU and here for decades. He's not one
- 26:42Speaker 6: of these guys. It's just gonna like filibuster himself in
- 26:46Speaker 6: every conversation and have to be the smartest guy in
- 26:48Speaker 6: the room and have to be this and that and
- 26:50Speaker 6: at and you and you know, we all if you're listening,
- 26:53Speaker 6: you know that type of person. Yes, that is not Verge.
- 26:56Speaker 6: Verge said, you are who we want.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yep.
- 27:00Speaker 6: We're gonna do everything we can to make you successful,
- 27:03Speaker 6: to pay you the way we're supposed to pay you,
- 27:05Speaker 6: to make your team successful, whether it's getting guys out
- 27:07Speaker 6: of the transfer port, it was dedicating money to athletes,
- 27:10Speaker 6: to coaches, to resources, whatever you need. And guess what,
- 27:14Speaker 6: you're a guy and we're gonna hire you and we're
- 27:16Speaker 6: gonna let you do your thing. Hey, here's the governor's number,
- 27:18Speaker 6: give them a call. Yeah, simple as that. That's all
- 27:22Speaker 6: you need to know.
- 27:23Speaker 3: It's such a great point because so many athletic directors
- 27:26Speaker 3: are sitting there and they're trying to sell and sell
- 27:28Speaker 3: and sell.
- 27:28Speaker 2: We have the academic center, and we have this, and
- 27:31Speaker 2: we have that, and we have Verge's.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Message the entire time was simple, we're LSU and we're
- 27:38Speaker 3: the best. Yep, we're LSU and that speaks for itself.
- 27:42Speaker 3: And there might be some people that disagree with that,
- 27:44Speaker 3: but no matter who you are, in your heart of hearts,
- 27:46Speaker 3: if you're being true to yourself, you know that's factual.
- 27:50Speaker 3: You know that LSU is a top destination for players,
- 27:53Speaker 3: for coaches, you understand that. It just is what it is.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And that was his message the entire time. I'm gonna
- 28:00Speaker 3: come coaching, bess, Come on, how's it? This is us
- 28:05Speaker 3: your stadum. Yeah, you know what it is. Yeah, you've
- 28:07Speaker 3: seen it, you've heard about it. Resources will do whatever
- 28:11Speaker 3: it takes, you know that.
- 28:15Speaker 2: And it worked and it worked. Lane Kiffing told us
- 28:19Speaker 2: it worked yesterday.
- 28:20Speaker 6: We'll see now, we'll see the future will tell us
- 28:25Speaker 6: if it really worked right with the performance they put out.
- 28:28Speaker 6: But you know what a mic drop moment for Verge
- 28:31Speaker 6: and happy for him, Happy for LSU. Happy for LSU
- 28:34Speaker 6: fans and as much of you know, four years with
- 28:40Speaker 6: Brian Kelly or however long it was, I've blacked out.
- 28:46Speaker 6: How Ever, many people saying I just don't know, like
- 28:48Speaker 6: you know, I think I like him. I think he's
- 28:51Speaker 6: is he if he's not really a fit though, well
- 28:53Speaker 6: we're one press conference in and I think everybody can
- 28:55Speaker 6: pretty much agree, Wlane's a fit.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Whatever that means. Yeah, Lane train.
- 29:04Speaker 9: Real quick, Watkins, Yeah, transfer, I mean that's gonna happen.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm still a matt that during the break you
- 29:13Speaker 3: could see the speed there, and there's a couple of
- 29:16Speaker 3: times like I mean, he picks them up and puts
- 29:17Speaker 3: them down. Two star or two star, two sport athlete
- 29:20Speaker 3: here at LSU definitely wasn't a two star.
- 29:25Speaker 2: They save those for guys like me.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Uh, and you're gonna have some of that. And I
- 29:30Speaker 3: would have loved to see him in a real offense
- 29:32Speaker 3: that had real routes, in real concepts. I think he's
- 29:35Speaker 3: very talented. But yeah, he has put himself into the
- 29:38Speaker 3: transfer portal. You've had a couple of receivers go in
- 29:41Speaker 3: the transfer portal, receivers never like and it's not disrespectful
- 29:45Speaker 3: to him.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I think he's going to be a good player.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Receivers never a position that I really worry about at LSU,
- 29:51Speaker 3: certainly if they're getting the right coaching and the right offense. Now,
- 29:55Speaker 3: I don't think any receiver in this offense was going
- 29:58Speaker 3: to thrive.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I just don't.
- 30:00Speaker 3: There wasn't real contests, there wasn't there wasn't routes that
- 30:03Speaker 3: made sense, there wasn't routes that played off of each other.
- 30:07Speaker 3: But I do think he's going to be a good
- 30:08Speaker 3: player somewhere. But again, receivers just not a position that
- 30:12Speaker 3: I worry about, certainly with Alane Kiffen and Charlie Wiss
- 30:15Speaker 3: coming in.
- 30:15Speaker 6: Yeah, it feels like, yeah, no one was going to
- 30:17Speaker 6: be successful in this offense. Is our offense was filled
- 30:19Speaker 6: of plays that were change ups. There was no fastball, Yeah,
- 30:22Speaker 6: there was no Like I just I can rely on
- 30:24Speaker 6: this set of plays, this core group of plays. So
- 30:29Speaker 6: but now we don't have to worry about that people.
- 30:31Speaker 9: Yeah, signing day is tomorrow tomorrow, and there's a few
- 30:35Speaker 9: people that have de committed from Ole Miss, and then
- 30:38Speaker 9: there's that receiver in Lafayette that de committed from Oklahoma.
- 30:43Speaker 7: Yep, and he's projected to flip to LSU.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But yeah, he was at the building two nights ago.
- 30:51Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, Hey, y'll see the picture coming out of Lane.
- 30:55Speaker 6: The first night he was here, he was on the
- 30:58Speaker 6: left side of the recruit take in a picture. Ned
- 31:01Speaker 6: did not backwards l and I'm hoping it never brings
- 31:04Speaker 6: me down. He finger pistoled like a little pu pew.
- 31:07Speaker 6: Maybe just got it wrong. Gotta practice a little bits,
- 31:09Speaker 6: just the regular. If you're gonna do it now, just
- 31:11Speaker 6: do it regular, please, Lane, do not go backward out,
- 31:14Speaker 6: Please don't. I kind of also wish you would troll
- 31:17Speaker 6: b K a little bit more and like take a
- 31:19Speaker 6: sarcastic picture of himself in the toy box, the recruiting

- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:56Speaker 6: Hey, do you think they're going to do one of
- 33:57Speaker 6: those basketball games lane introductions?
- 34:01Speaker 2: I hope so, And I hope that's exactly what you
- 34:04Speaker 2: think he's gonna do. Family Family. Oh, you know, you
- 34:10Speaker 2: know he wants.
- 34:11Speaker 8: I want him to start.
- 34:12Speaker 9: I mean, I guess he kind of already started trolling
- 34:14Speaker 9: a little bit, but I need him.
- 34:15Speaker 3: To start, like yeah, I mean typically everybody does that.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a normal thing.
- 34:22Speaker 3: I don't know if I When Hurd Signetty got the
- 34:25Speaker 3: Indiana job, he went like sports shurets.
- 34:28Speaker 2: He's like, we're going to beat the hell out of Purdue.
- 34:30Speaker 2: We're going to be the hell out of Northwestern, the
- 34:32Speaker 2: hell out of Michigan.
- 34:33Speaker 9: That's good, that's a good strategy, and just say that
- 34:37Speaker 9: you're gonna beat everybody.
- 34:39Speaker 2: It was incredible, and everybody's in Indiana, all right, guy
- 34:44Speaker 2: google him. He's a winner, big energy, I like him big.
- 34:51Speaker 2: What kind of energy, big.
- 34:52Speaker 8: Big energy?
- 34:54Speaker 2: Yeah, m hm.
- 35:01Speaker 6: Can I tell you another thing I was intrigued about yesterday,
- 35:04Speaker 6: please conference as a football nerd has an offensive junkie,
- 35:12Speaker 6: as a guy that loves to watch film and loves
- 35:15Speaker 6: good quality offense and good quality quarterback play and past
- 35:18Speaker 6: protections and route combinations. He did talk on specifics a
- 35:24Speaker 6: little bit, not not really specifics, but overall view of
- 35:26Speaker 6: his offensive scheme, his philosophy, and I really I was
- 35:30Speaker 6: really like locked in and like wanted me to know more.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I could.
- 35:33Speaker 6: I could could have asked questions for like an hour
- 35:36Speaker 6: just based on just falling up with that. So he
- 35:38Speaker 6: had talked about his offensive philosophy, and he talked about
- 35:41Speaker 6: how he's different, like his offensive philosophy is different than
- 35:44Speaker 6: all other philosophies. And I would like to, you know, personally,
- 35:47Speaker 6: I'd like to know what those differences are, like terminology,
- 35:50Speaker 6: what's the foundations? But basically, you know, he's got three
- 35:55Speaker 6: football mentors in his life.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Yeah, his dad, of course, money.
- 35:59Speaker 3: And I don't know if you played against I played
- 36:01Speaker 3: against his defense in the NFL when he was still
- 36:03Speaker 3: at Tampa.
- 36:04Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I don't remember if we did. We
- 36:08Speaker 6: probably did. We did play Tampa early on. Yeah, but Moni, Kevin,
- 36:12Speaker 6: Pete Carroll and Nick Saban around those guys a lot
- 36:15Speaker 6: of defensive guys, yeah, mentors of his, and he said,
- 36:18Speaker 6: those are three of some of the greatest defensive minds.
- 36:21Speaker 6: And just over time hearing and talking to those coaches
- 36:26Speaker 6: and hearing the things that they that always gave them
- 36:29Speaker 6: struggles and all gave them, all gave them fits always,
- 36:33Speaker 6: I just decided to develop the offense around those things.
- 36:36Speaker 6: If these are the greatest defensive coaches in football and
- 36:40Speaker 6: these are the things they hate seeing, well I'm assuming
- 36:43Speaker 6: everybody else hates seeing them too. So he's just kind
- 36:45Speaker 6: of molded and this offense which probably started, you know,
- 36:49Speaker 6: either West Coast or number system or spread like whatever.
- 36:52Speaker 6: I don't know how it started, but it's probably been
- 36:56Speaker 6: changed and molded just around all these different philosophies and
- 36:59Speaker 6: you know from you know, and I know you saw
- 37:02Speaker 6: it with a lot of Peyton stuff and I'm sure
- 37:03Speaker 6: Philip stuff. Well I saw it in Green Bay, and
- 37:05Speaker 6: I saw it and the flip side of it in
- 37:07Speaker 6: New England, like I was part of that Green Bell
- 37:10Speaker 6: soy in Green Bay. So long that it started out
- 37:12Speaker 6: with like West Coast offense terminology, but by like my
- 37:15Speaker 6: sixth year, like it was so bastardized at that point,
- 37:18Speaker 6: like the terminology, like having to learn it didn't make
- 37:22Speaker 6: any sense. Memorize a lot of it, Like a lot
- 37:24Speaker 6: of it, you have to memorize it. If you came
- 37:25Speaker 6: in you just didn't understand the foundation. Like I understood
- 37:27Speaker 6: the foundation of everything because I was there when it changed.
- 37:30Speaker 6: Like when I went to New England, it had been
- 37:32Speaker 6: bastardized for like twenty years with Tom Brady, and so
- 37:34Speaker 6: I had to memorize things there I didn't understand because
- 37:37Speaker 6: a lot of like when people create an offense, when
- 37:39Speaker 6: they draw, they draw the blueprint of an offense, things
- 37:42Speaker 6: make sense. Duced to divide double those are those are
- 37:44Speaker 6: three different formations that look the same. It's just different people.
- 37:47Speaker 6: West Trip Trouble, Like everything makes sense and h But
- 37:52Speaker 6: when you start when you play the Panthers, and all
- 37:55Speaker 6: of a sudden, the play that you put in for
- 37:56Speaker 6: the Panthers, it's called you know, Carolina or Panther whatever
- 37:59Speaker 6: it is, it's just like change. So his offense is
- 38:02Speaker 6: just changed and molded over time. But I just sounded
- 38:05Speaker 6: so intriguing that he's stating that his offense isn't like
- 38:08Speaker 6: anybody else's offense. It's his offense and it's been molded
- 38:11Speaker 6: because of those great defensive coach mentors, of his struggling
- 38:16Speaker 6: on different plays, in him using those different plays and
- 38:19Speaker 6: concepts to tailor his offense. And you know, and he
- 38:25Speaker 6: didn't really give the stats. He kind of hinted at
- 38:27Speaker 6: his stats for offense. I think he says, like, I
- 38:29Speaker 6: don't you know, I don't know.
- 38:30Speaker 3: I don't need to go through them, but the pretty good,
- 38:32Speaker 3: pretty good, pretty good stats.
- 38:33Speaker 2: So it's kind really intriguing.
- 38:35Speaker 3: My favorite part about what he said there was he's like,
- 38:38Speaker 3: I listened to those guys and they talked about the
- 38:41Speaker 3: things that would give them trouble, and I knew how
- 38:43Speaker 3: good they were. They were some of the best, and
- 38:45Speaker 3: if that gave them trouble, maybe we.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Should do that.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe we should implement that into our offensive scheme.
- 38:52Speaker 3: He's like, and I took a little bit from Pete Logis,
- 38:54Speaker 3: from my dad, a little bit from coach Saban and
- 38:57Speaker 3: put all that together, and that was his offense gave
- 39:00Speaker 3: the best defensive minds that I know trouble and let's
- 39:03Speaker 3: make an offense centered around these things and then add
- 39:05Speaker 3: as we go, like you're talking about.
- 39:06Speaker 6: Yeah, it's you know, there's a lot of coaches, a
- 39:09Speaker 6: lot of egos out there, and I'm sure Lane has
- 39:10Speaker 6: an ego. I'm sure every you're like you have to write.
- 39:12Speaker 6: But there's also coaches that are hard headed and they're like, no,
- 39:15Speaker 6: we're gonna do it my way. We're gonna do my offense,
- 39:18Speaker 6: we're gonna run it this way, and this is why
- 39:19Speaker 6: it will give defensive problems. Instead, Lane said, I don't
- 39:24Speaker 6: just listen to the defensive coaches on what gives them
- 39:27Speaker 6: problems and make my offense based on those concepts and
- 39:31Speaker 6: those philosophies on why it gives gives people trouble. So
- 39:35Speaker 6: I really like I wanted to jump into film room
- 39:38Speaker 6: with him right there and be like, all right, what's
- 39:40Speaker 6: your terminology? What do you what are you reading here?
- 39:42Speaker 6: What is the quarterbacks footwork on this? So yeah, I was,
- 39:47Speaker 6: I was. I was nerd out a little bit at
- 39:49Speaker 6: that point. I would actually just good stuff.
- 39:52Speaker 3: I would actually like to sit down with him and
- 39:55Speaker 3: watch the current LSU offensive scheme as well.
- 39:59Speaker 2: I would I would actually I would do. I would.
- 40:02Speaker 6: I mean, it'd be the same as watching it with me.
- 40:05Speaker 6: But what was that that felt work? That's probably fair,
- 40:09Speaker 6: So that was dumb.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think it was a reason why, you know,
- 40:14Speaker 3: USC had great players back in the early two thousands,
- 40:17Speaker 3: incredible players, but also they had Steve Sarkisian, they had
- 40:20Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin, like on the offensive side of the football,
- 40:22Speaker 3: Norm Chow and he was innovative as well. Makes a
- 40:25Speaker 3: lot of sense why they made a lot of plays
- 40:27Speaker 3: with again, great players. So yeah, you Rogie Bush will
- 40:31Speaker 3: make a lot of people, right, Yeah, we.
- 40:33Speaker 6: Know that if you you know, if you if you
- 40:36Speaker 6: couple really good players with really good coaching, he usually
- 40:39Speaker 6: get a pretty good team.
- 40:40Speaker 2: You gets something like Alabama and what it's about to
- 40:44Speaker 2: be LSU New World Order. All right, we'll take our
- 40:49Speaker 2: last break of the show. We wolf Packed?
- 40:51Speaker 3: Do we just said that we're wolf Pack because I've
- 40:53Speaker 3: already said were the wolf Pack beforehand? Yeah, so I
- 40:55Speaker 3: know that the you know, the O G n W O,
- 40:58Speaker 3: but like I don't know, Like I was always a
- 41:00Speaker 3: Razor Ramone fan, and we're already at the Wolfpack, and
- 41:02Speaker 3: so I think that's the way we go. Good we'll
- 41:05Speaker 3: confirmation comforence go all right, more OTB when we come
- 41:08Speaker 3: back off the bench.
- 41:11Speaker 5: All right.
