- 0:43Speaker 3: Kitty and Pudding. How I got my co hosts with
- 0:47Speaker 3: me today? And I have a wonderful guest with me
- 0:51Speaker 3: who is a friend or a patient, a fot daughter
- 1:00Speaker 3: remember everything. I love her. I love her family, our
- 1:04Speaker 3: families and now families. Miss Mariah Lynn. I'm so happy.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I'm happy to be here. Thank you for having me. Hey,
- 1:13Speaker 2: you look so pretty. Thank you. You both look beautiful
- 1:16Speaker 2: as well.
- 1:17Speaker 4: You look look at this.
- 1:21Speaker 5: I saw her standing up with that outfit. It's like
- 1:25Speaker 5: the perfect ten body.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, she has the perfect such a cute look with
- 1:31Speaker 3: the hair.
- 1:32Speaker 4: I don't know if she.
- 1:33Speaker 5: Didn't have her hair that way. It's almost like the
- 1:37Speaker 5: perfect accessories even with ye.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:40Speaker 2: This is fashion Nova. Mix it a little red bottom,
- 1:43Speaker 2: but Fashionova they're pay good, love the Clothesova. Fashionova super accessible,
- 1:51Speaker 2: super cheap. You know they have sales a lot. I
- 1:53Speaker 2: won't get one free and stuff, so you know, that's
- 1:56Speaker 2: what I usually do. I see a lot of you know,
- 1:57Speaker 2: I can wear designer brands and stuff. But I also
- 2:00Speaker 2: feel like I heard, just like earlier, you were like,
- 2:03Speaker 2: you know, you gotta stay humble. I also stay humble
- 2:05Speaker 2: if I could get a cute little thirty dollars forty
- 2:08Speaker 2: dollars outfit and match it with a cute designer bag,
- 2:11Speaker 2: and why not?
- 2:13Speaker 3: But of course because people like us. I know, if
- 2:16Speaker 3: I'm wearing something that's five dollars you or and I
- 2:20Speaker 3: couple it with something that's designed, and people think, oh
- 2:23Speaker 3: my god, where did you get through? Like so cute Target,
- 2:26Speaker 3: But because if who wears it, people think it's it's expensive.
- 2:30Speaker 3: But also you're always in event, so you're gonna always
- 2:33Speaker 3: have to change outfits all the time, and what are
- 2:35Speaker 3: you gonna do spend thousands of dollars on one outfit
- 2:38Speaker 3: that you could only wear once because now you're in
- 2:40Speaker 3: the press and people see you and you'reactly right, absolutely correct.
- 2:44Speaker 3: So the like recycled I do. They can't recycle that
- 2:46Speaker 3: many outfits when you're in the public life.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Never I've never shopped on Fashion over.
- 2:50Speaker 5: It's the price point on Fashion Over, Like, I don't
- 2:54Speaker 5: even know what the prices are.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Is that expensive? Is it not team?
- 2:58Speaker 2: I think no, it's definitely not a team move. No shade,
- 3:02Speaker 2: because I'm always open for new deals with new company,
- 3:05Speaker 2: But I think that it's more a little bit like
- 3:09Speaker 2: affordable for you know, people who are minimum wage jobs
- 3:13Speaker 2: and stuff like that, which is absolutely great. But like
- 3:16Speaker 2: Jen said, you know, it's it's all who wears it.
- 3:19Speaker 2: You could wear a five dollars top and bottom and
- 3:21Speaker 2: look like it's a thousand dollars outfit depending on how
- 3:24Speaker 2: you style it, you know. So I want to inspire
- 3:27Speaker 2: young girls to you know, yeah, it's cool to have
- 3:29Speaker 2: the balenciagas and the doors and stuff, but that doesn't
- 3:33Speaker 2: define you, and you know, doesn't make you beautiful to
- 3:35Speaker 2: have designer stuff. You can be in a regular outfit
- 3:39Speaker 2: and still look like a million dollars. I love you.
- 3:45Speaker 5: As if you feel good in it and you're wearing it, well,
- 3:48Speaker 5: you feel good in what you're wearing, right.
- 3:50Speaker 4: It's like a mixing match.
- 3:51Speaker 5: You could have like a you know, a thousand dollars
- 3:54Speaker 5: pair of shoes on and then like a.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Wear well why not.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Of course. And that's the way I mean, that's the
- 4:03Speaker 3: way I always zamble clothes. I wear what I like,
- 4:06Speaker 3: but I like me too, and I try to couple it.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So I'll wear my wear. I'll wear my my designed
- 4:12Speaker 3: bags and my design and sunglasses. But I could be
- 4:14Speaker 3: wearing a ten dollar T shirt that I bought in
- 4:18Speaker 3: online or whatever I found it, or I found.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Sheen the other side, I don't have a deal with them.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I am with it. I'm a Fashion of ambassador. But
- 4:29Speaker 2: Sheen is really good too, because you know, my boyfriend
- 4:32Speaker 2: lives in Puerto Rico, so I'm always on the island,
- 4:35Speaker 2: and you want to wear clothes to nothing on those
- 4:37Speaker 2: islands because you're sweating, you know, it's humid there. So
- 4:40Speaker 2: I order Sheen and I get like the matching earrings,
- 4:43Speaker 2: the bag, the shoes, like you literally just searching cherries
- 4:46Speaker 2: and everything. Cherries will come up from slippers to pajamas. Wow,
- 4:51Speaker 2: oh my god, I have a free for all.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I'm not a big online shopper.
- 4:55Speaker 6: I wish I was. I love I see packages coming
- 4:59Speaker 6: all day, my.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Concept people ordering every day.
- 5:03Speaker 5: I see I see these boxes Sheen, Tamu.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Yeah, fashion, I see line every day.
- 5:09Speaker 6: I'm like, what the hell is in these box?
- 5:11Speaker 4: I see them every day because of my kids.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Amazon Amazon, I swear I see the Amazon dry like
- 5:17Speaker 3: brazicly kicking my boxes down home the block because you
- 5:20Speaker 3: must hate coming to my house every day. It's crazy.
- 5:24Speaker 3: But you know what is with me? I think with
- 5:25Speaker 3: Sheene and stuff like that. I think as I'm getting older,
- 5:28Speaker 3: I feel like I have to try everything on because
- 5:30Speaker 3: I feel like certain things like see how she could
- 5:32Speaker 3: break that on? Yeah, and it fits.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Her because she's younger.
- 5:35Speaker 3: When you get older, I feel like everything starts to
- 5:38Speaker 3: fit weirder.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Like you have to get a little bit more taper.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Clothes, I right, or more of expensive clothes. Yeah.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Like that's true. And for me, honestly, you see a
- 5:53Speaker 2: lot of my pieces are also custom because I'm so
- 5:55Speaker 2: small that by the time I get to order an outfit,
- 5:59Speaker 2: sometimes it's all sold out and small, so you know,
- 6:03Speaker 2: it's a hide demand for small, extra small. Sometimes the
- 6:05Speaker 2: extra small is a little too small, little too much,
- 6:08Speaker 2: you know, booty showing. So I would need a small,
- 6:11Speaker 2: but me too, I preferably go for a custom piece
- 6:15Speaker 2: for my designer because I know it's gonna fit and
- 6:18Speaker 2: you know, all the right places and make my body
- 6:21Speaker 2: look you know how I wanted to.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Certain things, Yeah, you know, like I mean not even
- 6:26Speaker 3: I'm saying they even like garments, are go and buy
- 6:28Speaker 3: a designer, but like a little bit more like going
- 6:31Speaker 3: to like a more little boutique or something, because there's
- 6:33Speaker 3: a lot now, I think, even especially online boutiques, but
- 6:37Speaker 3: there's a lot of boutique shop. It went from the mall.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Everybody was going to the big malls to shop right,
- 6:43Speaker 3: And it originally started I hate you, hated me too.
- 6:47Speaker 5: I don't want And it felt like I was swimming
- 6:50Speaker 5: in the middle of the ocean and didn't know where
- 6:53Speaker 5: the land was.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I hate swimming. I hate being all.
- 6:58Speaker 5: I love that analogy, food courts, it's so hate everything
- 7:02Speaker 5: about them all.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I heard people staring at you when you're looking through
- 7:05Speaker 3: the rocks and they're like they want to get into it.
- 7:08Speaker 2: When someone is standing dead smack in front of something
- 7:11Speaker 2: for like a minute and a half and you're standing
- 7:13Speaker 2: there waiting like could you have some common Yeah, they
- 7:17Speaker 2: look back at you like and I'm like move hello,
- 7:20Speaker 2: like please. You know I've said excuse me three times
- 7:23Speaker 2: you didn't hear me. But okay. It gives you anxiety. Well,
- 7:27Speaker 2: me personally, I get anxiety and malls because there's so
- 7:30Speaker 2: many people and they're like can I get a picture
- 7:32Speaker 2: like you? I literally wow, But it's in it's actually funny. Yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 2: but Love and hip Hop was definitely like a life
- 7:44Speaker 2: changer for me. But baddies, this new show is like
- 7:48Speaker 2: Love and hip Hop on steroids, and I.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Feel like I tell us about that, I literally.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Can't go anywhere.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Well, first, first tell us how you got so just
- 7:57Speaker 3: your your navigation through it? You are, You're all love
- 8:00Speaker 3: and hip Hop? How did you wind up on Love
- 8:03Speaker 3: and Hip Hop?
- 8:04Speaker 2: I was in a strip club in Queens starless. Oh
- 8:07Speaker 2: one night I was with DJ self and my record
- 8:11Speaker 2: Once upon a Time that when gold was being played,
- 8:15Speaker 2: and then he was like, oh, you know I'm actually
- 8:18Speaker 2: going to you know this casting call for Love and
- 8:21Speaker 2: hip hop would you do? And I was like, Eh,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I don't know. At first, I was like, I don't know,
- 8:26Speaker 2: because I've seen how it was, like, you know, they
- 8:28Speaker 2: were obviously getting into altercations and stuff. I don't know
- 8:32Speaker 2: if that's how I want to really, you know, start
- 8:34Speaker 2: my career. But at that point I was like, hmm,
- 8:37Speaker 2: maybe this is something that I could try just to
- 8:40Speaker 2: you know, for the exposure and to get the record
- 8:42Speaker 2: out there. So they love the record so much to
- 8:47Speaker 2: thank you, they love the record so much and they
- 8:50Speaker 2: were just like, oh my god, we love you like
- 8:52Speaker 2: we we just love you.
- 8:53Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, You're the whole package. You are
- 8:56Speaker 3: the whole package. Thank you.
- 8:58Speaker 2: And it was hard at first because you know, I'm
- 9:01Speaker 2: from Jersey. A lot of the people it's loving hip
- 9:04Speaker 2: hop New York. And then at one point, you know,
- 9:07Speaker 2: the whole thing. It's like your relationships and your friendships
- 9:11Speaker 2: are tested. So it is a lot. But going from that,
- 9:14Speaker 2: I think and now being on Baddies, like it's definitely
- 9:18Speaker 2: a huge difference in the money. Like you know, I
- 9:22Speaker 2: love Love Love ZEUS Network. Shout out to Lemmy and
- 9:24Speaker 2: Natalie and LJ and all of them at Zeus they're amazing.
- 9:28Speaker 2: You know, they welcome me with open arms from another
- 9:30Speaker 2: network and they've treated me amazing.
- 9:33Speaker 4: How do you find Zeus?
- 9:35Speaker 2: You can download it. It's an app. So my boss
- 9:38Speaker 2: created an independent streaming platform five years ago, I'm pretty sure.
- 9:43Speaker 2: And you know they started off just doing pilots and shoot,
- 9:47Speaker 2: you know, shoot, just testing the waters to now it
- 9:51Speaker 2: being the number one show in America, Batties on zeus. Yeah,
- 9:56Speaker 2: so number one show, number one show in America, everybody's watching.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Why do you think that is? Why do you think
- 10:02Speaker 4: it's an on one show?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Because I think that reality TV gives young girls, not
- 10:09Speaker 2: just young girls, but I think just women in general,
- 10:12Speaker 2: and young girls like they could relate to most of us,
- 10:17Speaker 2: so they tend to like gravitate towards us, you know,
- 10:20Speaker 2: like I have fan favorites for some people and I'm
- 10:23Speaker 2: least valuable to others. But I think that it's it's
- 10:28Speaker 2: an experience that not everybody's built for. There is a
- 10:32Speaker 2: lot of fighting, There is a lot of cattiness. I mean,
- 10:35Speaker 2: it's twenty three girls on the way how one show.
- 10:40Speaker 3: I cannot believe it's not many girls on the show.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it gets pretty chaotic, but like I said, you
- 10:45Speaker 2: have to have tough.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Do you have to share a room with them?
- 10:47Speaker 2: No? Me personally, no. You know, I can't speak for
- 10:51Speaker 2: the new girls, but I definitely don't share a room
- 10:55Speaker 2: with them.
- 10:56Speaker 5: But could I get back to asking you a question? Sure,
- 10:58Speaker 5: I'm interested to know. How does it show like that
- 11:00Speaker 5: inspire young girls? If, like you're saying, there's a lot
- 11:04Speaker 5: of fighting, what's the inspiring part.
- 11:06Speaker 4: It's not the fighting.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I think it's really just standing your ground, you know.
- 11:10Speaker 2: On the show, we would call it standing on business.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You know. You you know, in life, I feel like
- 11:15Speaker 2: you're tested a lot, whether it's in the industry, whether
- 11:17Speaker 2: it's in life, whether it's at your job nine to five,
- 11:20Speaker 2: whatever it may be. You know. And for me personally,
- 11:23Speaker 2: i've been I've been fighting all my life, you know,
- 11:26Speaker 2: just to have a better future, you know, for generals.
- 11:29Speaker 2: You know, my mom sobriety, and I took custody of
- 11:32Speaker 2: my little sister when she was six months old. She's
- 11:34Speaker 2: now going to be eight, and I've joined custody with
- 11:37Speaker 2: my mom now she's four years sober. So I feel, now, to.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Me, that's inspiring. You have to be one strong thinking,
- 11:44Speaker 4: you're so young to take that on. Anybody else would
- 11:47Speaker 4: be like this is.
- 11:48Speaker 3: I always admire her for that because I can't believe it.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to be a mother before I'm even
- 11:55Speaker 2: a mother, So that was really hard.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I had to do it because there was no other job.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a lot of like situations where when
- 12:02Speaker 2: my mom wasn't where she is now, there were red
- 12:05Speaker 2: carpets I couldn't be on because I didn't have a
- 12:07Speaker 2: babysitter for my little sister. There were certain places I
- 12:10Speaker 2: couldn't be because I had to tend to being a mother.
- 12:14Speaker 4: How old is she?
- 12:15Speaker 2: She's eight now she'll be nine and this year you
- 12:19Speaker 2: up until last August she did. But now she me
- 12:22Speaker 2: and my mom have joint custody and she's residential with
- 12:25Speaker 2: my mom. But up until August, she was with me
- 12:28Speaker 2: from six months old.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Did you have music?
- 12:31Speaker 4: You write your own music, Your lyrics come from your heartaches.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Oh?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Absolutely. I've mentioned her in a song before. I have
- 12:38Speaker 2: a song called Big Dreams where I talk about, you know,
- 12:41Speaker 2: just my dad being incarcerated for a long time, and
- 12:44Speaker 2: you know my mom and you know my siblings. How
- 12:47Speaker 2: I've you know, it's kind of been the mom to them,
- 12:51Speaker 2: I have a middle sister, like, yeah, I'm definitely you
- 12:55Speaker 2: know you married. No I'm not yet. I am. I
- 12:59Speaker 2: am with I'm not single, and I do want to
- 13:02Speaker 2: start having kids soon, probably in like a year or two, start,
- 13:07Speaker 2: you know, settling down and make my exit from reality TV,
- 13:12Speaker 2: because you know, my music makes good enough money. And
- 13:15Speaker 2: I think that I've it's my third season now doing this,
- 13:19Speaker 2: so I would really like for it to be my last,
- 13:22Speaker 2: and and not in a bad way, because I've learned
- 13:25Speaker 2: a lot about myself and I think I've grown even
- 13:28Speaker 2: more in a better way going through these experiences. Because
- 13:32Speaker 2: even though you're fighting, you know, I've seen certain girls
- 13:35Speaker 2: who don't come back because they just don't get it.
- 13:38Speaker 2: You know, it's not all about hurting somebody, whether it
- 13:41Speaker 2: be physically or verbally. You know, it's about getting your
- 13:44Speaker 2: point across and maybe having the control not to put
- 13:47Speaker 2: your hands on somebody, you know, learning your boundaries, your triggers,
- 13:51Speaker 2: your limits. And believe me, they test every single one
- 13:54Speaker 2: of them.
- 13:55Speaker 3: They got to be testing you guys on that trail. Oh, yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 3: they do. I watched a couple of episodes I just
- 14:01Speaker 3: cannot It's rough to watch it's rough.
- 14:05Speaker 4: It's rough.
- 14:06Speaker 3: It's just they but you know, it's I feel like
- 14:09Speaker 3: the net I guess the networks have to do it
- 14:11Speaker 3: because they have to bring the viewership. And if there
- 14:14Speaker 3: is not if there's not anything to watch the drama. Fortunately,
- 14:16Speaker 3: that's what people.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It's a gift and a curse. It's a gift and
- 14:19Speaker 2: a curse. But what I will say is, but there
- 14:21Speaker 2: is no amount of fight. They don't force you to fight.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Like if you say, hey, I don't want to fight,
- 14:26Speaker 2: I'm not fighting, they.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Will like you will put something like that in your contract.
- 14:30Speaker 5: I'm not the one that's going to be fighting.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I've known.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I've heard that certain talent have had that in their contract,
- 14:36Speaker 2: like a no touch thing where, you know whatever.
- 14:39Speaker 4: But the ones that fight at the most publicity.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Right there and the most money.
- 14:43Speaker 4: And can I ask.
- 14:44Speaker 5: You, so, what is your future like if you're going
- 14:46Speaker 5: to retire and you're, uh, you want to have a
- 14:49Speaker 5: family now and you were a rapper? First of all,
- 14:52Speaker 5: do you sing ballads? And can you sing?
- 14:55Speaker 2: Oh no, I can't sing I'm not Mariah carry on,
- 14:57Speaker 2: Maria Island, straight, straight wrapped.
- 15:01Speaker 4: So what does a rapper do when they retire?
- 15:03Speaker 5: What other dreams do you have that you want to
- 15:05Speaker 5: pursue besides wrapping after these shows?
- 15:08Speaker 2: And uh huh. So when I first came into the industry,
- 15:11Speaker 2: I was signed to an independent label and I wasn't
- 15:14Speaker 2: educated on the business, Like there's so many platforms that
- 15:16Speaker 2: you get paid pay out from that I didn't know,
- 15:20Speaker 2: you know, copyright dot gov where I now own every
- 15:23Speaker 2: single sound recording that I've ever sound recorded is mine,
- 15:28Speaker 2: copywritten by me. But before I knew all of that,
- 15:32Speaker 2: I was robbed for a half a million dollars by
- 15:34Speaker 2: by the label owner like coop. Yes, correct, So no
- 15:39Speaker 2: rights back? Right, So I'm have I'm actually have a
- 15:41Speaker 2: three million dollar lawsuit where you know, you.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Know, the Beatles don't even own their own rights to this,
- 15:46Speaker 3: that's crazy. Yeah there were, Yeah, they never.
- 15:50Speaker 6: Michael Jackson owned it or something like that.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Michael Jackson owned the right. Really, I never even know
- 15:55Speaker 3: that's bought the rights to Happy Birthday, but yeah, that's what.
- 16:01Speaker 3: And Paul McConnell was the right to a lot of
- 16:03Speaker 3: people's songs. It's great. I guess they started buying up
- 16:06Speaker 3: other people's because everything.
- 16:07Speaker 5: My best friend is who knew that? So her name
- 16:10Speaker 5: is Diane Warren. And she's incredible. She's written every song
- 16:16Speaker 5: you could think of, every ballad.
- 16:17Speaker 4: She's the most. She is the most, she's the number one.
- 16:22Speaker 3: She wrote females. She wrote the Titanic ballad right with Sin?
- 16:27Speaker 4: Didn't she write that? Yes?
- 16:28Speaker 3: Oh?
- 16:28Speaker 2: Wow?
- 16:29Speaker 3: That that she wrote on break my Heart? If I
- 16:34Speaker 3: can turn back?
- 16:35Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, h Tyler Stephen, what's his name?
- 16:41Speaker 4: I stay with.
- 16:43Speaker 7: You.
- 16:45Speaker 3: That's Diana shout out.
- 16:48Speaker 2: That was my grandmother's favorite artist. I'm sorry, I love
- 16:51Speaker 2: I love my my my grandmother. She used to play
- 16:54Speaker 2: Alice Smith all the time, So I love that song.
- 16:57Speaker 4: She was smart from the get She owns all her publishing.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Yeah, nobody she did that. And if you have, if
- 17:04Speaker 3: you don't do that, the somebody could just yeake it.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Oh they could just you know.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Especially when you're a young girl like me coming in
- 17:11Speaker 2: the game, you just want to feed your family, take
- 17:13Speaker 2: care of your family, provide a comfortable living situation, you know,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and they see an opportunity to take advantage of you.
- 17:20Speaker 2: But I caught on very quickly, you know, luckily for
- 17:25Speaker 2: me on the street smart yeah and book smart, and
- 17:28Speaker 2: I did look into things and I was like wait,
- 17:32Speaker 2: I'm not receiving money from YouTube. I'm not like how
- 17:35Speaker 2: many records did we sell on iTunes? And then I
- 17:37Speaker 2: found out it went gold and I was like, whoa,
- 17:39Speaker 2: this is crazy. So I went and copyrolled everything, submitted
- 17:44Speaker 2: proof to Catapult, Catapult banned him from Catapult, took his
- 17:48Speaker 2: whole catalog down, and I got to redistribute under independently,
- 17:53Speaker 2: under my own company's name, and now I owned everything.
- 17:57Speaker 2: So that was my story. Yeah, and it was really
- 18:01Speaker 2: hard because you know, it hindered a lot of my
- 18:04Speaker 2: campaigns and a lot of things that I could have did,
- 18:07Speaker 2: on top of having to take care of two siblings
- 18:10Speaker 2: and a nephew. My sister had her son, So it
- 18:12Speaker 2: was like, wow, this is this is a lot, but
- 18:14Speaker 2: there has to be a greater purpose. There has to
- 18:17Speaker 2: be a rainbow at the end of this storm. And
- 18:20Speaker 2: there was. And even though you know, like Jen was saying,
- 18:23Speaker 2: it's not like I and this again this is you know,
- 18:25Speaker 2: with all respect to zeus and everything, but I didn't
- 18:28Speaker 2: think for three years prior to I was asked to
- 18:31Speaker 2: be on the show, and I kept saying, no, this
- 18:33Speaker 2: is not for me, No, this is not for me,
- 18:35Speaker 2: Like thank you, for the opportunity. I greatly appreciate it,
- 18:37Speaker 2: but no. But then it got to the point where
- 18:40Speaker 2: I was like, I want to buy a house, which
- 18:42Speaker 2: leads me to the answer to your question. I want
- 18:44Speaker 2: to invest. I want to teach young artists how not
- 18:47Speaker 2: to get robbed. I want to educate these young artists
- 18:50Speaker 2: and these young girls like who are just blindsided to
- 18:53Speaker 2: men in the industry who just want to take from them. Yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 2: so that's what I want to do in the future.
- 18:59Speaker 2: When and you know, once upon a time is uh,
- 19:03Speaker 2: you know, it's never going to go as a classic song.
- 19:05Speaker 2: But when I'm too old to perform it and stuff,
- 19:07Speaker 2: hopefully I can have my own record label, own some property,
- 19:11Speaker 2: have some equity, and start some companies like I'm buying
- 19:16Speaker 2: a house in Puerto Rico. I want to buy some
- 19:18Speaker 2: condos and airbnbic is a successful business that a lot
- 19:23Speaker 2: of people are doing. So I just want to make
- 19:25Speaker 2: sure that, you know, when I do go and it
- 19:27Speaker 2: is my time that even as young as I am,
- 19:30Speaker 2: I still have the mentality of I want to make
- 19:32Speaker 2: sure that my kids get all my royalties. They you know,
- 19:35Speaker 2: they don't have to go through what I went through.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yeah, can I ask.
- 19:39Speaker 4: You a personal question. Your mother was an alcoholic?
- 19:45Speaker 2: No, so my mom used drugs.
- 19:47Speaker 3: She was drug user.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, your father.
- 19:50Speaker 2: My father was incarcerated for nine and a half years.
- 19:53Speaker 5: So I want to ask you, here's my question, where
- 19:58Speaker 5: where do you get this from? Because there's gonna be
- 20:03Speaker 5: kids or somebody right now who's out there, he's going
- 20:08Speaker 5: through something. They're gonna just think the world's against them
- 20:11Speaker 5: and they can't accomplish anything because they are their mother
- 20:14Speaker 5: and father. And that's one thing that we're not our
- 20:17Speaker 5: mother and father' that's what you're doing. That's the you
- 20:21Speaker 5: can't be put on me on you right right? Say
- 20:24Speaker 5: so where does it? Where did you get this will
- 20:27Speaker 5: power and this vision and this focus to say, oh no,
- 20:32Speaker 5: I'm not gonna be you and I'm not gonna be you,
- 20:35Speaker 5: and I'm taking my sister with me and I I
- 20:38Speaker 5: just want to I have a dream and I want
- 20:41Speaker 5: to be successful and I don't want this kind of life.
- 20:43Speaker 5: I'm not gonna I'm gonna break the chain. Where does
- 20:46Speaker 5: that come from? And you do you have great faith
- 20:48Speaker 5: in God or higher power?
- 20:51Speaker 2: I definitely have great faith in God, and I've been
- 20:55Speaker 2: through so like you, could write it. I can write
- 20:57Speaker 2: a book, you know, I could literally tell you stories.
- 21:00Speaker 2: But I think the power comes from just being a
- 21:05Speaker 2: person who was left. I feel like I felt abandoned
- 21:08Speaker 2: in my life.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Oh my god, that's so.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I never wanted to leave my siblings. I never wanted
- 21:14Speaker 2: to leave my mom for dead just because of her addiction.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I never wanted to leave my dad because you know,
- 21:19Speaker 2: he was incarcerated. And I started to think as an adult,
- 21:22Speaker 2: what did my parents go through that made them this
- 21:25Speaker 2: way that I couldn't understand as a young child, because
- 21:28Speaker 2: I couldn't understand that my dad went through whatever he
- 21:32Speaker 2: went through in his life, where you know, my mom
- 21:34Speaker 2: went through certain things that I didn't know until I
- 21:38Speaker 2: was older, like, oh, this makes sense. No wonder why
- 21:41Speaker 2: mom's this way, or no wonder why mom's so protective
- 21:44Speaker 2: or so aggressive, you know, because she's dealt with that.
- 21:47Speaker 5: And you understand that it takes people till their old
- 21:51Speaker 5: years adulthood a lot older.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Than you are to come through that to come.
- 21:57Speaker 5: To this realization. I'm wondering, there's something very special on you.
- 22:01Speaker 5: And I just want to say this that you haven't
- 22:04Speaker 5: you it's it's to me it's a gift from God.
- 22:07Speaker 4: I'm Catholic. I don't want to get all you anything.
- 22:09Speaker 3: That's my high.
- 22:13Speaker 5: As I always believe that the Mother was around me
- 22:16Speaker 5: and Jesus and I didn't have an easy road either.
- 22:20Speaker 5: That's why I'm getting it. And I totally get you
- 22:23Speaker 5: and I.
- 22:24Speaker 6: Know where it comes from.
- 22:25Speaker 5: But I want them you to say it because I want
- 22:26Speaker 5: to hear what you think it is. But to me,
- 22:31Speaker 5: I think it's about for you, for me, for you.
- 22:35Speaker 5: I think when people have that in them, that drive,
- 22:38Speaker 5: when they don't come from great backgrounds, I think it's a.
- 22:44Speaker 3: And I have it since I'm a young kid.
- 22:47Speaker 4: It's a it's a it's.
- 22:48Speaker 5: A a very strong self awareness and it's a very
- 22:54Speaker 5: strong survival skill that kicks in. And like there was
- 23:01Speaker 5: this story of this little girl that they found her
- 23:03Speaker 5: in the Amazon fart. She lived in there for from
- 23:07Speaker 5: child to the and she was raised by wolves. Right, yeah,
- 23:11Speaker 5: this folk tale, right, But that's survival. You get thrown
- 23:14Speaker 5: into that. Now, you just the survival of the fittest.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Have it. There's some people that have this and it's
- 23:22Speaker 3: a gift.
- 23:23Speaker 2: It is, it is your blessed Thank you. I am
- 23:26Speaker 2: and I'm listen. I greatly appreciate that because all I
- 23:30Speaker 2: want to do is use my platform to just spread
- 23:33Speaker 2: awareness positivity. You know. I know I come from a
- 23:36Speaker 2: platform that is based on fighting and stuff, but you know,
- 23:39Speaker 2: getting to know these girls, they all have that power
- 23:43Speaker 2: that they've been through something, and that that's why I like,
- 23:46Speaker 2: you know, even the girls that I don't necessarily like,
- 23:49Speaker 2: I still sympathize for them though I may not tell
- 23:51Speaker 2: them that, but I do still sympathize for them as well.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I pray for my friends and I pray for my
- 23:57Speaker 2: enemies because I pray for them to you know, get
- 23:59Speaker 2: over or whatever hate they have in their heart. That
- 24:02Speaker 2: I was angry. I was so angry at one point
- 24:05Speaker 2: and I just was like, oh, why was my life?
- 24:08Speaker 3: Well when you felt that anger, did you feel like
- 24:10Speaker 3: it was displaced a lot in the beginning when before you,
- 24:13Speaker 3: I feel like that that happened to me. I had
- 24:15Speaker 3: so much anger, and then something triggered me to just
- 24:19Speaker 3: stay focused. Like I think for you it was you
- 24:21Speaker 3: had to take care of your sister. Yes, I think
- 24:23Speaker 3: it was for me that my mom died and I
- 24:28Speaker 3: was basically like, and my mom died and I to
- 24:31Speaker 3: you eighteen and then that hard.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it was hard.
- 24:34Speaker 3: And my dad died when I was eleven, so it
- 24:36Speaker 3: was hard. I was an off it, I mean, and
- 24:38Speaker 3: it's not like that my parents wanted to leave me,
- 24:40Speaker 3: but it was really really hard not to grow up
- 24:43Speaker 3: with parents.
- 24:43Speaker 4: It was very hard.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I think when I had my daughter, when I got
- 24:46Speaker 3: pregnant with Jernaline, with that definitive moment where I knew
- 24:49Speaker 3: I had to do something, like I had to say
- 24:53Speaker 3: I can't. I cannot go down this road where I'm
- 24:57Speaker 3: in this abyss by myself and this darkness. I had
- 24:59Speaker 3: to come out of it and say, I have something
- 25:01Speaker 3: to look forward to. I have to take care of
- 25:03Speaker 3: this person. Twenty Wow, what do you think made you
- 25:08Speaker 3: realize this?
- 25:10Speaker 2: You know what?
- 25:10Speaker 3: I thought that she was going to be by herself
- 25:13Speaker 3: if I wasn't there far Like I thought that if
- 25:15Speaker 3: if I didn't do the right thing, either I would
- 25:18Speaker 3: have nobody. She would have nobody. She would be like
- 25:21Speaker 3: I was alone. I felt alone and abandoned. That's the
- 25:24Speaker 3: way I felt.
- 25:25Speaker 2: That's why I stepped in for Iceland too, because you know,
- 25:28Speaker 2: I was in foster homes at one point and me
- 25:31Speaker 2: and my middle sister were separated. Thankfully, my aunt did
- 25:35Speaker 2: come and get me my own end. But during that time,
- 25:38Speaker 2: you know, I went through a lot of things and
- 25:39Speaker 2: foster care, ugly dark things.
- 25:41Speaker 3: I saw you.
- 25:43Speaker 2: I was thirteen to sixteen when I three care. Yeah,
- 25:47Speaker 2: like my eye was bouncing around because it was it
- 25:50Speaker 2: was crazy. But you know, I went through an experience
- 25:54Speaker 2: that was really hard for me, and I felt like
- 25:57Speaker 2: I didn't want my sisters to go through that, and
- 25:59Speaker 2: that's why I took my middle sister had my nephew.
- 26:02Speaker 2: They're the six months apart my little sister Iceland and
- 26:05Speaker 2: my nephew, so I had three kids technically at that time,
- 26:09Speaker 2: I was like twenty something years old. I didn't know
- 26:11Speaker 2: what I was doing, but I was like, I don't
- 26:13Speaker 2: want to abandon these kids because if I do, what
- 26:16Speaker 2: if what I went through happens to them, how would
- 26:19Speaker 2: I feel knowing that I had the power to do
- 26:22Speaker 2: something to change their future. My aunt did it for
- 26:26Speaker 2: me in a way. Yeah, I suffered, I went through things,
- 26:28Speaker 2: but she showed me better things in life when I
- 26:31Speaker 2: lived with her. So thank God to her. Thanks san Ange,
- 26:33Speaker 2: I love you. She's amazing and just great Italian woman.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Her parents were amazing to me, treated me like their grandchild.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Yes, what she said is a rarity in your business.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Yes, I know it is.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Both ethnicities I do.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I absolutely do Italian talk on my hands, very loud,
- 26:59Speaker 2: Puerto Rican and I'm late for everything. I'll probably late
- 27:02Speaker 2: for my home funeral.
- 27:03Speaker 3: But she's suppoted to be here at three o'clock. She
- 27:05Speaker 3: got her at four. Yeah, but that was all right.
- 27:08Speaker 3: But she's supposed to be her five. But I was
- 27:10Speaker 3: so proud of her that you got that. I got it,
- 27:13Speaker 3: did Yes, Yes, I.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Have both a little bit of speak. I speak Spanish.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I know a lot of Italian little words here and
- 27:22Speaker 2: there because my grandparents. But I do speak more Spanish
- 27:26Speaker 2: now because I've been with my boyfriend for five months
- 27:28Speaker 2: and he speaks no English. Well more now that he's
- 27:31Speaker 2: been around me.
- 27:31Speaker 3: He speaks no English more.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Now He's like.
- 27:34Speaker 4: How did you communicate?
- 27:35Speaker 2: What's your problem? Man?
- 27:38Speaker 3: Why how do you communicate when you know your communicate?
- 27:41Speaker 2: I know a little bit of Spanish before him, but.
- 27:45Speaker 3: You figure out how to speak great.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Right, Listen. He knew what that meant.
- 27:53Speaker 7: And you, I say it again, you speak through the
- 28:04Speaker 7: language of blue.
- 28:07Speaker 2: And yeah, I love that for us though, it's funny
- 28:10Speaker 2: at times, like we literally can't even argue. So I
- 28:13Speaker 2: love that.
- 28:14Speaker 6: You know what's funny.
- 28:15Speaker 5: It's like what I spoke about the first show I
- 28:18Speaker 5: did on this show, and I say, you can't judge people.
- 28:22Speaker 5: Everybody has something on the back burner, right, You can't
- 28:26Speaker 5: judge a person by the way they look or just
- 28:29Speaker 5: what you have up front. There's so much more we
- 28:32Speaker 5: have that people don't know about. Right, And somebody like
- 28:36Speaker 5: you won hip hop, you can get some kind of
- 28:42Speaker 5: false judgment just being a hip hops.
- 28:46Speaker 4: It goes with a whole you know what's sorry about Catherine?
- 28:49Speaker 3: You this this person, I mean, she always looks beautiful.
- 28:56Speaker 5: Let me say so when you saying that, like the
- 28:59Speaker 5: whole hip hop persona, which I really loves, We love that.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but the way you're dressed, do your luck.
- 29:07Speaker 5: It's and then the backburn apart is a fucking army pot. Yeah,
- 29:13Speaker 5: army sup pot of such goodness and such love and
- 29:18Speaker 5: such strength and such determination and focus.
- 29:23Speaker 6: And and this is you. You are inspiring.
- 29:27Speaker 5: So the first going back to the very first question,
- 29:29Speaker 5: what's inspiring about the show?
- 29:31Speaker 4: I hope that you get to talk about this on
- 29:33Speaker 4: the show.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I do too. I mean, you know, there's a
- 29:36Speaker 2: lot of things that get air that I'm like, eh,
- 29:39Speaker 2: but ultimately it just builds better character for me, you know.
- 29:44Speaker 2: And I go on there and I go in organically.
- 29:47Speaker 2: I don't you know, orchestrate any storyline. I don't do
- 29:51Speaker 2: none of that. I'm just my Yeah, Like I'm just
- 29:54Speaker 2: my natural self. Although I can't speak for others because
- 29:57Speaker 2: I have seen girls do that, you know, fake the
- 30:00Speaker 2: cameras turn because they want.
- 30:01Speaker 4: The camera to do. That's how you get the camera time. Yeah.
- 30:07Speaker 3: In your business, you get the camera trip because they
- 30:09Speaker 3: tell you the camera time. In reality, if you don't
- 30:11Speaker 3: take it, you don't get it. Yeah, you have to.
- 30:13Speaker 3: You have to get take it, and you have to
- 30:15Speaker 3: make it or they won't. They will absolutely.
- 30:18Speaker 2: That's what I love about me is that I just yeah, no,
- 30:24Speaker 2: and it's definitely time to uh just you know, I
- 30:27Speaker 2: want the people to know that my music is my
- 30:29Speaker 2: main priority. It's always been my baby. It's always been
- 30:32Speaker 2: what I put up, bove all I did, baddies, Yes,
- 30:34Speaker 2: to uh provide better and be you know, being a
- 30:37Speaker 2: better place for it with my family and to be
- 30:39Speaker 2: able to start my own family because that's important to me. Now,
- 30:42Speaker 2: I think I've took a lot of time focusing on
- 30:45Speaker 2: helping my family that I forgot about starting my own family,
- 30:49Speaker 2: and that means a lot to me as well. So
- 30:51Speaker 2: I'm starting to gear up to do that and you know,
- 30:55Speaker 2: prepare to maybe sit down for like a few months
- 30:57Speaker 2: when I do decide to have a baby and stuff.
- 31:00Speaker 2: And even that's a little scary for me because I'm like, wow,
- 31:03Speaker 2: my life is under this microscope of you know, people
- 31:06Speaker 2: just every Sunday they love you, they hate you, they
- 31:08Speaker 2: love you, they hate you, they love to hate you.
- 31:10Speaker 2: It's it's it's a roller coaster. So you know, at times,
- 31:13Speaker 2: I'm like, do I really want to bring my like
- 31:14Speaker 2: a kid into this world? And have you know they
- 31:16Speaker 2: didn't ask them for their mom to be famous, They
- 31:19Speaker 2: didn't ask for their mom to you know, be this person.
- 31:21Speaker 2: But I'm just gonna make sure that, you know, I
- 31:25Speaker 2: thoroughly think it out and I take you know, I
- 31:27Speaker 2: took a lot of time to wait. So I'm proud
- 31:29Speaker 2: of myself for that as well.
- 31:31Speaker 3: You know, I think you're going to be a good
- 31:33Speaker 3: mom anyway. You already are a good mom. I have
- 31:35Speaker 3: practice but it's so funny because what I was gonna
- 31:38Speaker 3: say is that she this is the way she looks
- 31:40Speaker 3: for when she we hang out together. When she comes
- 31:43Speaker 3: to my house, she looks like it's like normal has not.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Done, but she I think she looks the most beautiful.
- 31:48Speaker 3: When you're like that.
- 31:49Speaker 2: No, my boyfriend says the same thing.
- 31:51Speaker 3: I think you look makeup. Yes, I think you're beautiful
- 31:54Speaker 3: when you come over in your little sweatsuit and you
- 31:57Speaker 3: are up in a ponytail.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Everybody knows I love my sweatsuits. Yes, I love to
- 32:02Speaker 2: be comfortable, and I love I like to be girly too,
- 32:04Speaker 2: But I think there's just comfortability for me. It just
- 32:08Speaker 2: feels like better. It's just more me to be comfortable,
- 32:12Speaker 2: you know. I like the glitz and the glam stuff.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Don't get me wrong, what girl doesn't. And yeah I am,
- 32:18Speaker 2: But I would rather be like that, you know. I
- 32:21Speaker 2: like that people relate to me. I like that, you know,
- 32:24Speaker 2: sometimes I'm misunderstood and then they understand me the next week.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Because nobody's perfect. This is what I think these people forget.
- 32:31Speaker 2: But then I have to also remember that half of
- 32:33Speaker 2: these pages are robots and nine year olds who.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Are upright, Really, that's what that's. You know, you can't get.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Kids eight you know where your kids are on Instagram
- 32:43Speaker 2: commenting something malicious to a grown adult like come on, exactly.
- 32:47Speaker 2: I've grown to just not even read stuff sometimes because
- 32:51Speaker 2: it's just the toxicity and stuff like listen, regardless whether
- 32:54Speaker 2: you love or hate me, you're still tuning in every Sunday,
