- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York Kates Mark Simone
- 0:04Speaker 1: show on seven tenor.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, it was quite a mare old debate last night.
- 0:12Speaker 2: We will get to that. We'll go over in great detail.
- 0:15Speaker 2: We'll get to the latest meltdown from the Democrats. The
- 0:19Speaker 2: trumpt derangement syndrome has them going nuts over the White
- 0:24Speaker 2: House ballroom. This is but the weirdest, most bizarre meltdown
- 0:29Speaker 2: they've had so far. We'll get to Ice in New York,
- 0:32Speaker 2: and we'll get to Robert de Niro and a whole
- 0:35Speaker 2: lot more coming up. Last night's debate was much better
- 0:41Speaker 2: than the first debate. It was New York one, which
- 0:44Speaker 2: most people don't see, and it was Eron Lewis's the
- 0:48Speaker 2: most biased, the left wing guy in the world. Everybody
- 0:51Speaker 2: thinking he should have accused himself, but he was good,
- 0:54Speaker 2: He behaved himself and he was better than those Channel
- 0:57Speaker 2: four moderators. He let people talk, so good job. And
- 1:01Speaker 2: then the other one was a de Brian Lear's, very
- 1:04Speaker 2: very left wing sort of guys doing this, but they
- 1:06Speaker 2: were good, they behaved themselves and it was a well
- 1:09Speaker 2: done debate. Now who won the debate, Well, Curtis was
- 1:14Speaker 2: the best there was no question about that. If he
- 1:16Speaker 2: just went on content, Curtis clearly way ahead of him.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But but a lot of people think Como won the
- 1:24Speaker 2: debate because he's usually terrible in debates. He's not a
- 1:29Speaker 2: good debater, and he stinks in these debates. In the
- 1:32Speaker 2: first two debates he had with Mom Donnie, the primary debates,
- 1:35Speaker 2: he was just awful. But last night he surprised everybody.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Was pretty good in the debate. He wasn't as good
- 1:42Speaker 2: as Curtis on content, but in style and confidence, he's
- 1:47Speaker 2: learning to talk a little faster. Last night he surprised everybody,
- 1:52Speaker 2: and some analysts actually think he won, even though Curtis
- 1:55Speaker 2: was better and content wise, he won by not stinking,
- 1:58Speaker 2: by actually holding his own own with Mom Donnie. Curtis
- 2:03Speaker 2: had the best lines in the debate.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I get a good belly laughs. All right, I'll keep practice.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I get a good belly laugh. Every time I hear
- 2:13Speaker 3: you say free fair in the subways. Half the people
- 2:16Speaker 3: don't pay you anyway.
- 2:17Speaker 4: How about fair enhorcement.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Now, the problem with these debates, it's three people. If
- 2:22Speaker 2: it were two debates, you know, you think back to
- 2:24Speaker 2: Hillary and Trump, You think back to the one debate
- 2:29Speaker 2: that absolutely turned a race around that was Reagan against Carter.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Reagan was on track to lose. He just wiped out
- 2:35Speaker 2: Carter in that debate. And it was but the key
- 2:39Speaker 2: to that was it was two people. It was one
- 2:41Speaker 2: on one. When you put three people in there, it
- 2:43Speaker 2: changes the whole mix. And the moderators were very careful
- 2:47Speaker 2: to try to keep the spotlight off Curtis. They focused
- 2:50Speaker 2: on Cuomo. They focused on Mom Donnie as if they
- 2:53Speaker 2: were the two major party candidates. Remember it's Cuomo who's
- 2:56Speaker 2: the third party candidate. It's Sliwa who's the major party candidate.
- 3:01Speaker 2: He's the Republican candidate. Mom Downey's the Democratic candidate. Should
- 3:05Speaker 2: have been the two of them head to head. They
- 3:07Speaker 2: put Cuomo in even though he's a third party candidate,
- 3:10Speaker 2: because he's high in the polls. But it kind of
- 3:13Speaker 2: screws up the debate for Curtis. You don't get it.
- 3:15Speaker 2: They just tried not to give him too much time.
- 3:17Speaker 2: But every time they went to him, he was great
- 3:19Speaker 2: content wise, position wise, issues wise, most voters would agree
- 3:23Speaker 2: with Curtis, so on content he won. But Cuomo surprised everybody,
- 3:28Speaker 2: but not being as bad as he usually is in debates.
- 3:30Speaker 2: He's more a Curtis.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I've taken this subway almost every day of my life
- 3:33Speaker 3: since I was five. The worst time was the summer
- 3:36Speaker 3: of twenty seventeen, the summer of hell.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Angewel Cuomo, when you were running.
- 3:41Speaker 3: The subway, says, stuffs ahead of the I don't trust
- 3:45Speaker 3: you with anything.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Well that's a good point. I don't know how much
- 3:49Speaker 2: that registered with everybody. But when Cuomo was governor, the
- 3:52Speaker 2: governor runs the subways. The MTA is controlled by the governor.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It's his chairman. He has the most seats on the board.
- 3:59Speaker 2: And twenty seventeen Cuomo screwed up the subways. I don't
- 4:02Speaker 2: know if you remember that, but all the subways were
- 4:05Speaker 2: late trains can't It was real mess. The reason for
- 4:10Speaker 2: that is he was trying to score political points with
- 4:13Speaker 2: the subway by putting all the money into new cars,
- 4:17Speaker 2: new trains. Remember you would depose with the look at
- 4:20Speaker 2: this new train car, state of the art car. What
- 4:23Speaker 2: He completely screwed up the subway system by using it
- 4:26Speaker 2: as a piggy bank to take money out of there.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So they didn't have enough money, and it got so bad,
- 4:32Speaker 2: and the outcry was so huge. He had a beg
- 4:35Speaker 2: Joe Loader to come back. The old MTA commissioner, who's
- 4:38Speaker 2: the best guy at fixing the subways. He came back
- 4:41Speaker 2: right away and I talked to him privately about it,
- 4:43Speaker 2: and he told me the real problem when you drain
- 4:45Speaker 2: the money out of there, use it as a piggy
- 4:47Speaker 2: bank for other projects. They're not spending the money where
- 4:51Speaker 2: it needs to be spent. You don't want to spend
- 4:53Speaker 2: it on new subway cars. It's not what you need.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Most important thing, pumps, switches, fans, the things that make
- 5:00Speaker 2: the trains run, the little stuff. So Loda put that
- 5:03Speaker 2: all back. It took a few months, but he got
- 5:05Speaker 2: the subways back to normal. But Cuomo did screw it
- 5:09Speaker 2: up back then. He made a lot of disastrous moves
- 5:11Speaker 2: as governor. That's the problem now. The opening of the debate
- 5:14Speaker 2: was great, Mam Donnie, really, Mam Donnie. As summer argument
- 5:17Speaker 2: didn't have a great night because he had to be
- 5:20Speaker 2: evasive on a lot of things, some of his more
- 5:22Speaker 2: controversial stuff. So he was evasive a lot through the debate.
- 5:26Speaker 2: But he's slick, and he's a fast talker, and me,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you talk really fast. People might not notice how evasive
- 5:30Speaker 2: you are. But he really went after Cuomo.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Andrew Cuomo will spend much of tonight attacking me.
- 5:35Speaker 6: He is a.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Desperate man, lashing out because he knows that the one
- 5:38Speaker 5: thing he's always cared about, power is now slipping away
- 5:41Speaker 5: from him.
- 5:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Well yeah, If he doesn't win this, I don't know
- 5:46Speaker 2: where he goes next. Of course, they kept hitting Mam
- 5:49Speaker 2: Donnie on experience.
- 5:50Speaker 4: I did see this.
- 5:52Speaker 8: You have never had a job, You've never accomplished anything.
- 5:56Speaker 8: There's no reason to believe you have any merit or
- 5:59Speaker 8: qualify k.
- 6:00Speaker 4: For eight and a half million lives.
- 6:03Speaker 8: You don't know how to run a government, you don't
- 6:05Speaker 8: know how to handle an emergency.
- 6:07Speaker 5: The issue is that we have all experienced your experience.
- 6:11Speaker 5: The issue is that we experienced you take me five
- 6:14Speaker 5: million dollar book deal while you sent seniors to their
- 6:16Speaker 5: deaths and nursing homes.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the problem with Cuomo's argument. He was good
- 6:20Speaker 2: last night. But when you say, you know, you gotta
- 6:22Speaker 2: have experience, what if there's a health crisis, Well, we
- 6:25Speaker 2: had one of with Cuomo and he was terrible. He
- 6:27Speaker 2: was awful. He killed people in the nursing homes, and
- 6:29Speaker 2: you know, when it comes to crime. He really screwed
- 6:31Speaker 2: up our criminal system with his no bail, no jail
- 6:34Speaker 2: and all that stuffy. But he's right about mom Donnie.
- 6:38Speaker 2: We've never ever ever elected somebody who's twelve years old,
- 6:42Speaker 2: only been a citizen five minutes, never had a job.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It's unheard of. As Curtis said last night.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Sure on your resume could fit on a cocktail napkin,
- 6:52Speaker 3: and Andrew your failures could fill a public school library
- 6:58Speaker 3: in New York City.
- 7:00Speaker 2: That's a good point. But it was quite a debate.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Trump was an issue for somehow in this debate.
- 7:05Speaker 5: I will fight him every single step of the way.
- 7:07Speaker 4: He has no respect for him.
- 7:08Speaker 8: He thinks he's a kid, and he's gonna knock him
- 7:10Speaker 8: on his tookis ye.
- 7:12Speaker 2: So, but Curtis got very emotional at some point. You know,
- 7:17Speaker 2: Mamdanie obviously would stink on crime. We saw Cuomo was
- 7:21Speaker 2: really bad on crime as governor, the no bail, no jail,
- 7:23Speaker 2: the closing the prisons, the taking away the qualified immunity
- 7:28Speaker 2: from cops. So Curtis got very emotional there.
- 7:31Speaker 3: So how can both of you look at me? I
- 7:34Speaker 3: almost launched my oldest son to gang violence. And the
- 7:37Speaker 3: perpetrators went to family court and got a little pet
- 7:41Speaker 3: on the wrist and was sent home to do it
- 7:44Speaker 3: again and again.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, it's a great moments in that debate.
- 7:47Speaker 2: If you haven't seen it, it's on YouTube, you can
- 7:49Speaker 2: you can go watch it. There as more on Trump,
- 7:53Speaker 2: and we.
- 7:53Speaker 5: First just heard from the Republican candidate for mayor, and
- 7:56Speaker 5: then we heard from Donald Trump's puppet himself, Andrew Cuomo.
- 8:00Speaker 5: You could turn on TV any day of the week
- 8:03Speaker 5: and you will hear Donald Trump share that his pick
- 8:05Speaker 5: for mayor is Andrew Cuomo. And he wants Andrew Cuomo
- 8:08Speaker 5: to be the mayor, not because it will be good
- 8:10Speaker 5: for New Yorkers, but because it will be good for him.
- 8:13Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Now, Trump's not an Andrew Cuomo fan, but he just
- 8:19Speaker 2: doesn't like Curtis. He's never like Curtis. He doesn't like Curtis.
- 8:22Speaker 2: He's also remember he's far away. He's not here in
- 8:25Speaker 2: New York watching everything day and night. He's in Washington.
- 8:28Speaker 2: He's president. He's very busy, so he's not real up
- 8:32Speaker 2: close on this election. But he just thinks Cuomo's the
- 8:36Speaker 2: better shot, and that's why he's been pushing Cuomo. And
- 8:38Speaker 2: when you see these guys out there like Bill Ackman
- 8:41Speaker 2: and these other billionaires. Bill Ackman's a good example. They're
- 8:44Speaker 2: all out there fighting for Cuomo. The reason is this
- 8:46Speaker 2: is Trump. Trump is using them to do this. Trump
- 8:50Speaker 2: is on the phone with guys like Bill Ackman day
- 8:52Speaker 2: and night. He's had them come down to Washington for lunch,
- 8:55Speaker 2: for dinner. He's pressuring them like crazy to get Curtis
- 8:59Speaker 2: out of the race. Do everything they can, and they're
- 9:02Speaker 2: doing this. They're really going crazy trying to get Curtis out.
- 9:04Speaker 2: It's not because they care that much about the about Cuomo.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It's just they want to ingratiate themselves with Trump. They
- 9:11Speaker 2: need other stuff from Trump. So he's been really pushing them,
- 9:15Speaker 2: really pushing them for weeks now. From what I've heard
- 9:18Speaker 2: last night and the night before in conversations, he's starting
- 9:22Speaker 2: to admit and in fact, earlier this week he started admitting,
- 9:25Speaker 2: I don't know if Cuomo's not a great candidate. I
- 9:27Speaker 2: don't know if Cuomo can do it. So he might
- 9:29Speaker 2: be easing the pressure on these guys, but we'll see again.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Cuomo had a good night last night. Good night. He
- 9:36Speaker 2: was strong in the debate.
- 9:37Speaker 5: And I also know that the jobs we create in
- 9:39Speaker 5: the building of that housing should be good jobs as well.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Answer, what is your opinion?
- 9:45Speaker 7: Job?
- 9:46Speaker 4: Come on, yes, what is your opinion?
- 9:50Speaker 6: Yes?
- 9:51Speaker 10: Know?
- 9:51Speaker 4: So true may be a politician. They're pointing out what
- 9:57Speaker 4: I was about to question. My question to you was.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Do you support the three ballid amendment questions?
- 10:04Speaker 5: I have not yet taken a position on those ballot questions.
- 10:07Speaker 4: What a shocker.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Now that was a problem a few times, several times
- 10:12Speaker 2: on a ballot issue or some issue, he just wouldn't
- 10:14Speaker 2: take a position. Now in New York you got things
- 10:18Speaker 2: like New York one or Channel four that they're the
- 10:20Speaker 2: most left wing, bias slanted. So the problem is they
- 10:24Speaker 2: won't be all over him. They should be following him
- 10:27Speaker 2: around demanding he said he needs to think about it.
- 10:30Speaker 2: They should be demanding you think about it and give
- 10:31Speaker 2: him an answer. They should be all over the campaign
- 10:35Speaker 2: demanding an answer. But again they're very slanted. They won't
- 10:38Speaker 2: do it. Here's what he.
- 10:39Speaker 5: Says, that taking five years to build affordable housing is
- 10:43Speaker 5: the sign of an incompetent government. By his own words,
- 10:45Speaker 5: that means he must have led an incompetent government.
- 10:48Speaker 8: The governor doesn't build housing in New York City, not
- 10:51Speaker 8: if it's you.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It's a good point, you know, if the problem is
- 10:55Speaker 2: lack of housing, if the problem is affordability, well, Democrats
- 10:59Speaker 2: have been the whole place for fifteen years. They've been
- 11:02Speaker 2: controlling the legislature of the city Council, the mayor's office,
- 11:05Speaker 2: city Hall, the governors. They controlled everything. So if it's
- 11:08Speaker 2: such a crisis, get rid of them, get another party,
- 11:11Speaker 2: try somebody else.
- 11:12Speaker 4: There are jurisdictions.
- 11:14Speaker 8: The governor doesn't pick up trash, he doesn't.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Run the fire department.
- 11:18Speaker 4: That's what the mayor does. The mayor bills housing.
- 11:21Speaker 8: The state allocates funding for localities, and I allocated more
- 11:26Speaker 8: funding for housing than any governor in the history of
- 11:29Speaker 8: the State of New York.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, but again he yells all this stuff.
- 11:33Speaker 2: But if that's the case, how come we have such
- 11:36Speaker 2: a crisis.
- 11:36Speaker 8: You have never had a job, you've never accomplished anything.
- 11:41Speaker 8: There's no reason to believe you have any merit or
- 11:44Speaker 8: qualification for eight and a half million lives. You don't
- 11:48Speaker 8: know how to run a government, you don't know how
- 11:50Speaker 8: to handle an emergency, and you've literally never proposed a
- 11:54Speaker 8: bill on anything that you're now talking about in your campaign.
- 11:58Speaker 2: All right, but so you hear that, Oh was good
- 12:00Speaker 2: last night. He had a good debate. He was very good.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Not like the slow talker from the first debates in
- 12:07Speaker 2: the primary, he just was awful against Mom Donnie. Mam
- 12:10Speaker 2: Donnie just wiped him out. But he was good last night.
- 12:12Speaker 2: He had a good night. So we'll see if that doesn't.
- 12:14Speaker 2: You know, one of the big problems with this race,
- 12:16Speaker 2: we haven't had any polling at all. You know, you
- 12:19Speaker 2: see it sometimes in the news, you'll see some poll
- 12:20Speaker 2: it's just some junk pole, some college poll, some tiny
- 12:24Speaker 2: polling company, nobody ever heard of. These aren't These are
- 12:27Speaker 2: totally worthless. These polls. I wouldn't trust him for a second.
- 12:30Speaker 2: A couple of them done by Cuomo people disguised, you know,
- 12:35Speaker 2: as somebody else, but I wouldn't. So we have never
- 12:38Speaker 2: had any real polling in the last few weeks, and
- 12:40Speaker 2: we've had no polling after the first debate or the
- 12:44Speaker 2: second debate, so we really don't know anything. Kind of
- 12:46Speaker 2: flying blind, So we'll see what happened. You know, what's
- 12:49Speaker 2: interesting all the people that are pushing Cuomo, you know,
- 12:52Speaker 2: the Bill Ackman gotta get Cuomo. We can't have done.
- 12:55Speaker 2: We got. They don't like Cuomo at all. You don't
- 12:57Speaker 2: think much of them. They don't think he'd be great.
- 13:00Speaker 2: It's just that they hate Mam Donnie. They just think
- 13:02Speaker 2: Mom Donnie is so bad. We'll settle. We'll settle for Cuomo,
- 13:06Speaker 2: who you can't stand. And Cuomo was on the morning
- 13:09Speaker 2: show this morning here at w R. He was here
- 13:12Speaker 2: and he admitted to that. Litsten to him, talk to
- 13:14Speaker 2: Larry Mente. He actually admitted, nobody really likes him. They
- 13:18Speaker 2: just hate Mam Donnie Moore.
- 13:19Speaker 9: If you're saying you will only vote for me because
- 13:23Speaker 9: you dislike Zoron Moore, it's not flattering.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well there you go, no kidding. Anyway, we got.
- 13:37Speaker 2: We'll get back to the mirror debate. Well, we've got
- 13:40Speaker 2: lots to say about it. We'll get to that. We'll
- 13:42Speaker 2: get to we'll get to the ballroom meltdown. It's hysterical
- 13:49Speaker 2: this and it's a silly thing for Democrats. They're going
- 13:52Speaker 2: crazy over the ballroom. You know, they destroyed the East Wing.
- 13:58Speaker 2: They're taking down part of the East Wing, but they'll
- 14:00Speaker 2: put it right back with a ballroom attached to it.
- 14:03Speaker 2: And I don't know why they're doing this because it's
- 14:05Speaker 2: not like the federal government building. And if the government
- 14:08Speaker 2: built it, this ballroom would take ten fifteen years. This
- 14:11Speaker 2: is Trump building it. He'll have it finished in four
- 14:14Speaker 2: or five months, and it will look magnificent. It looks
- 14:17Speaker 2: so beautiful that you'll sound nuts that you were complaining
- 14:21Speaker 2: about it. You know, you know what's in the east wing.
- 14:23Speaker 2: You know, you saw they knocked down the wall and
- 14:25Speaker 2: half the east wing. You know what that was. You
- 14:28Speaker 2: know what's in the east wing? Nothing? Really. It does
- 14:31Speaker 2: have the first Lady's office in it, but that's two
- 14:34Speaker 2: three rooms. You know, you can move that to somewhere
- 14:36Speaker 2: else in the building very easily. But what's the big
- 14:39Speaker 2: stuff in the east wing. The biggest thing in there
- 14:41Speaker 2: is the calligraphy office. Seriously, it's a big, huge calligraphy center,
- 14:46Speaker 2: and that's where they do the place cards for the
- 14:48Speaker 2: dinner and the invitations. So that's what got knocked out there.
- 14:54Speaker 2: But this is nothing. This construction nothing compared to what's
- 14:58Speaker 2: been done in the White House before nineteen forty eight.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Truman gutted the entire White House, literally gutted it. All
- 15:05Speaker 2: that was left was the exterior walls. They gutted the
- 15:09Speaker 2: entire White House and rebuilt it. So but there's a
- 15:11Speaker 2: million Check out my Twitter. There's a picture up there
- 15:14Speaker 2: of like twelve different times, twelve different presidents where you
- 15:17Speaker 2: see massive wrecking balls and cranes tearing up parts of
- 15:20Speaker 2: the White House. Done all the time. But anyway, we'll
- 15:22Speaker 2: get back to that. We'll take some calls in a minute.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:33Speaker 1: If you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio app, save
- 15:36Speaker 1: time and tap the preset button.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Now.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simon Show on woor Ah.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to Diane in Illinois. Diane,
- 15:48Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 15:50Speaker 10: I'm doing good, Mark, good morning.
- 15:52Speaker 6: Hey.
- 15:52Speaker 10: You know I was looking at the price tag that'll
- 15:54Speaker 10: bollow you his fa port three hundred and seventy six million,
- 15:59Speaker 10: and that's just basketball court. Trump is building a nine
- 16:02Speaker 10: hundred seat ballroom for three hundred million. What would Obama's
- 16:06Speaker 10: basketball court? What would that translate into money wise in
- 16:09Speaker 10: the year twenty twenty five.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah, No, Trump is always pointing that out when the
- 16:13Speaker 2: government builds a building like that new terminal at LaGuardia
- 16:16Speaker 2: twenty four billion private sector. If they had done it
- 16:20Speaker 2: eight hundred million. They just overspent. Like Trump said in
- 16:25Speaker 2: the they said how much would a wall cost on
- 16:27Speaker 2: the border, and he said whatever, he said one two billion,
- 16:31Speaker 2: and he pointed to the Senator. He goes, twelve billion
- 16:33Speaker 2: if these guys did it. Yeah, Obama spent exactly three
- 16:36Speaker 2: hundred and eighty million to build a basketball court.
- 16:39Speaker 10: And Trump dies, But I guess, but in my what
- 16:43Speaker 10: would three hundred and seventy six million translate into dollars
- 16:47Speaker 10: in twenty twenty.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Five, Probably four hundred and fifty million, So like half
- 16:51Speaker 2: a billion dollars to build a basketball court. Thanks for calling, Diane.
- 16:54Speaker 2: You know it's the same thing. This is all started
- 16:56Speaker 2: a million years ago with the woman rink, member of
- 16:59Speaker 2: the woman rank. The city was up till like twenty
- 17:01Speaker 2: five million. This is back in the eighties. That's like
- 17:04Speaker 2: one hundred million today. So and it went on for years,
- 17:08Speaker 2: and Trump finally spoke out public. He said, it's just
- 17:10Speaker 2: a slab of concrete. It doesn't cost anything. He got
- 17:13Speaker 2: no fight with Koch, and Trump said, I'll build it
- 17:16Speaker 2: in a few weeks. For a few hundred thousand, I'll
- 17:19Speaker 2: pay for it. And then Kotch called his bluff and
- 17:22Speaker 2: he did it. That's the difference between government doing something
- 17:26Speaker 2: in the private sector. Let's go to Christine in Long Island. Christine,
- 17:29Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 17:31Speaker 7: But wait a minute, my market, I've listened to you
- 17:34Speaker 7: for decades.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Oh my god, Well, I hope you were taking time
- 17:37Speaker 2: out for meals and everything.
- 17:40Speaker 9: Yes, okay.
- 17:41Speaker 7: My question is this and what has Turan Mandami's done
- 17:47Speaker 7: as an assemblyman? He was in for five years, I believe,
- 17:51Speaker 7: and months ago I heard that he posted one bill,
- 17:55Speaker 7: but I don't know if it ever passed.
- 17:57Speaker 2: No, he did nothing there. But that's not than usual
- 18:00Speaker 2: most of these assembly people. It's like part time work
- 18:02Speaker 2: for them. They show up once in a while, most
- 18:04Speaker 2: of them don't do it or anything.
- 18:05Speaker 10: Voters pick this up.
- 18:07Speaker 7: Last month, a voter called in from Idaho sang, what
- 18:12Speaker 7: has this man done? Nobody talks about what has he
- 18:15Speaker 7: actually done?
- 18:16Speaker 2: Well, imagine if you had actual, actual media instead of biased,
- 18:20Speaker 2: corrupt media, they would be covering this constantly. Where are
- 18:23Speaker 2: you in Long Island.
- 18:25Speaker 10: I'm in ROCKFLA.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Oh, you're gonna vote for Bruce Blakeman I hope absolutely
- 18:31Speaker 2: all right. And Ann Donnelly's running for DA. Bruce Blakeman
- 18:34Speaker 2: the best county executive in America. Make sure you vote
- 18:37Speaker 2: for him. Let's go to Denise and Staten Island. Denise,
- 18:40Speaker 2: how you doing, holl good morning?
- 18:42Speaker 4: More tell you good?
- 18:45Speaker 11: I wanted to ask you if you could point.
- 18:47Speaker 12: Out that at last night's debate. First of all, I'm
- 18:50Speaker 12: a big supporter of Courteslila, and I will be early
- 18:53Speaker 12: voting for him Saturday morning. I'm on the South Shore
- 18:56Speaker 12: area of Staten Island. But I'd like you to point
- 18:59Speaker 12: out some time today if you could one point that
- 19:02Speaker 12: Curtis Sliema made last night and the room fell silent,
- 19:07Speaker 12: and the.
- 19:08Speaker 6: Other two just that point.
- 19:12Speaker 11: He's mentioned how billions were coming into New York are
- 19:16Speaker 11: being paid for legal immigrants. Well every day New York
- 19:20Speaker 11: citizens were sufferings financially.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Once he's made that point, everybody makes that point all
- 19:26Speaker 2: the time, all that money wasted on the illegals that
- 19:28Speaker 2: could have been taking care of New Yorkers. Let's go
- 19:30Speaker 2: to Mike in New Jersey. Mike, how you doing, Mark?
- 19:34Speaker 6: How you doing?
- 19:35Speaker 2: Good?
- 19:36Speaker 6: Good? I'll tell you the thing like this, Curtis is
- 19:38Speaker 6: probably the best carrying we've had in a very long time.
- 19:42Speaker 6: A man had spent decades of his life fighting crime.
- 19:45Speaker 6: You know, he volunteered to do that. And he also
- 19:47Speaker 6: said the homeless he dealt with a lot of crazy people. Yes,
- 19:50Speaker 6: he very dedicated self, was individual and he has these
- 19:53Speaker 6: articulate he has.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Ideas familiar, familiar with Curtis.
- 19:59Speaker 6: I get it. In the end of the day, they
- 20:01Speaker 6: want to blame Curtis. If God forbid, this guy's are
- 20:03Speaker 6: on Winds wins. This is a societal issue. There's not
- 20:07Speaker 6: Curtis leeless problems.
- 20:08Speaker 2: No Curtis belongs in the race. Everything you said is correct.
- 20:12Speaker 2: If you want to blame somebody, blame Cuomo. What the
- 20:14Speaker 2: hell is he doing in this race? Why did he
- 20:17Speaker 2: even show up for this Curtis? Everything you just said
- 20:20Speaker 2: is correct. And Clomo's never even lived in New York City.
- 20:24Speaker 2: He's from the suburbs. You know, every mayor who's run
- 20:27Speaker 2: for mayor of New York lives in New York City.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Is the first time we've ever had a mayor who
- 20:31Speaker 2: spent his entire adult life not living in New York City,
- 20:34Speaker 2: living in the suburbs. We've had mayors born out of town.
- 20:38Speaker 2: You know. Mike Bloomberg was from Massachusetts. David Dinkins grew
- 20:42Speaker 2: up in New Jersey, but they all lived in New
- 20:43Speaker 2: York City their entire adult life. One more real fast,
- 20:46Speaker 2: Let's go to Katie and Chappaqua.
- 20:49Speaker 13: Katie, how you doing, Hi, Mark, I have a comment
- 20:53Speaker 13: about the debate, and then I have a question. So
- 20:56Speaker 13: I watched it online and you know, on the side
- 20:59Speaker 13: there's check comments and there it was really fun, I
- 21:03Speaker 13: mean almost There was lots and lots of support for
- 21:06Speaker 13: Curtis and mostly criticism for Cuomo and Mandani. And then
- 21:11Speaker 13: I wanted to ask you, like, how in the world
- 21:14Speaker 13: could it be asking Curtis to drop out when he's
- 21:16Speaker 13: the only Republican and he's against two Democrats.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you know, most people are not asking him
- 21:21Speaker 2: to be out. That Trump has recruited some of these
- 21:24Speaker 2: public figures, some billionaires like Bill Ackman to be all
- 21:27Speaker 2: over the airwaves telling Curtis to drop out. But if
- 21:31Speaker 2: you talk to actual voters, they don't want Curtis to
- 21:34Speaker 2: drop out. You can't. You can't have a major party
- 21:36Speaker 2: candidate dropout. They had Cuomo not been in the race,
- 21:39Speaker 2: it would have been a whole different story. Culomo was
- 21:41Speaker 2: like a third party candidate who just showed up here
- 21:44Speaker 2: because he had nowhere else to go. But you got
- 21:46Speaker 2: to give him credit. He had a good debate last night.
- 21:47Speaker 2: He was strong in that debate last night. Hey, when
- 21:50Speaker 2: we come back, Steve Moore will be with us. We
- 21:54Speaker 2: hope we'll see.
- 21:57Speaker 6: No.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I want to talk to him. A lot of big
- 22:00Speaker 2: economic things to talk. We'll get to that next on
- 22:02Speaker 2: seven to ten. Wor Welcome back to the Mark Simone
- 22:07Speaker 2: Show seven, Jen Woor. Well, Steve Moore, the great economists.
- 22:12Speaker 2: You should get his book, The Trump Economic Miracle. You
- 22:15Speaker 2: love it, of course, read all his columns. And he
- 22:17Speaker 2: runs the Committee to Unleash Prosperity and every day they
- 22:20Speaker 2: put out the best daily briefing, news and analysis, so
- 22:24Speaker 2: called the Hotline. You can sign up where it's free.
- 22:27Speaker 2: It'll come right to your email. A lot of people
- 22:29Speaker 2: read this. Go to Unleash Prosperity dot com. Steve Moore,
- 22:33Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 22:35Speaker 14: Hey, Mark, you're doing well. Thanks for having me. What
- 22:38Speaker 14: a tumultuous week. The government is still shut down.
- 22:40Speaker 6: It's unbelievable.
- 22:41Speaker 14: I thought this would last a couple of days. It's
- 22:43Speaker 14: been several weeks now it's causing more and more disruption.
- 22:47Speaker 14: I don't know if you've been traveling at all, but
- 22:48Speaker 14: there's a you know, a lot of delays at the
- 22:50Speaker 14: airports and so on. So we got to get this
- 22:52Speaker 14: thing settled. But Republicans cannot cave in here. I mean,
- 22:55Speaker 14: we're trying to slice just a little bit of the
- 22:57Speaker 14: cost of our government, and the Democrats won't even allow it.
- 23:01Speaker 14: Two cents saving out of every dollar that we're spending,
- 23:04Speaker 14: two cents out of every dollar.
- 23:05Speaker 6: It's unbelievable.
- 23:06Speaker 2: So if you listen to Chuck Schumer, it's healthcare premiums.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Everybody's going to die. I what is the truth about
- 23:11Speaker 2: this fight with the healthcare.
- 23:13Speaker 14: Well, I think the real villain here. I mean, this
- 23:15Speaker 14: is a teachable lesson for all of us that remember
- 23:18Speaker 14: it was fifteen years ago that we passed Obamacare. In fact,
- 23:21Speaker 14: I was just looking on Fox News and they were
- 23:23Speaker 14: sapping up they showed a you know, a clip of
- 23:28Speaker 14: Obama signing the Obamacare law. Do you remember, Mark, what
- 23:33Speaker 14: the name of the Obamacare.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Law was, the Affordable Care Act.
- 23:39Speaker 14: I mean, how ironic. I mean, all that's happened since
- 23:43Speaker 14: we pasked the quote Affordable Care Actors that healthcare gets
- 23:46Speaker 14: more and more and more expensive. Report the other day
- 23:50Speaker 14: that the average family is now paying thirty thousand dollars
- 23:53Speaker 14: a year what on health insurance because it's just so
- 23:57Speaker 14: expensive now and so and by the way, some of
- 23:59Speaker 14: that is employed paid by their employers, but it's it's
- 24:02Speaker 14: a giant it's a giant tax on the American economy.
- 24:06Speaker 14: By the way, the insurance companies are one of.
- 24:08Speaker 2: The villains here. They're in on this.
- 24:10Speaker 14: They're all for expanding Obama Care subsidies because the money
- 24:12Speaker 14: goes right into their pockets. But what they're basically saying
- 24:17Speaker 14: is we want to make sure that people were not
- 24:18Speaker 14: even eligible for Medicare and Medicaid get the get the benefits.
- 24:22Speaker 14: Because you know, we're so we're so rich with cash
- 24:25Speaker 14: in Washington, we can be passing around free money. It's
- 24:27Speaker 14: really it's really quite outrageous. And we if we if
- 24:30Speaker 14: the Republicans came in here, we might as well just say, Okay,
- 24:33Speaker 14: we're going to run two trillion dollar efforts from now
- 24:35Speaker 14: until forever.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, let me issu you something. You know, they announced
- 24:39Speaker 2: the terrorists. Everybody says that's going to crash the whole market.
- 24:42Speaker 2: They announce shutdown. It's going to crash the whole market.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Russian sanctions is going to crash the whole market. Market
- 24:47Speaker 2: is fine, it's setting new records all the time. Why
- 24:50Speaker 2: is that?
- 24:50Speaker 14: This is that it is unbelievable. By the way, just
- 24:53Speaker 14: give you some context here. You know the forty let's see,
- 25:00Speaker 14: forty five years ago that Ronald Reagan was elected president.
- 25:03Speaker 6: Do you know what the Dow Jones Industrial average was
- 25:05Speaker 6: back then?
- 25:05Speaker 2: There sixth though.
- 25:10Speaker 14: Not even close, my friends, it was one thousand. What
- 25:13Speaker 14: to think about that, it was one thousand. You can
- 25:15Speaker 14: look it up, the Dows at one thousand.
- 25:17Speaker 6: Now here we are.
- 25:18Speaker 14: Forty five years later, after the Reagan Revolution and the
- 25:20Speaker 14: Trump Revolution, and it is at forty forty six thousand
- 25:25Speaker 14: last time I checked. So we've seen the biggest period
- 25:28Speaker 14: of wealth creation in the history of civilization.
- 25:30Speaker 6: Here.
- 25:30Speaker 14: It's an incredible success story of the American economy. And
- 25:35Speaker 14: we need to get more and more Americans invested in
- 25:38Speaker 14: the market because that's how you make Maybe you make
- 25:40Speaker 14: money is you save and you invest. But now we're
- 25:44Speaker 14: in a situation, as you said, remember Paul Krugman, all
- 25:48Speaker 14: these people when when a Trump was elected both in
- 25:50Speaker 14: twenty sixteen and twenty twenty four. Oh my god, Armageddon's coming.
- 25:53Speaker 14: We're all going to die. The sock market's going to crash.
- 25:57Speaker 14: It's going to be another, you know, another nineteen twenty
- 26:00Speaker 14: nine crash. Gee, where is it then? Because you're right,
- 26:03Speaker 14: the market, the stock market, the Dow Jones, the Nasdaq,
- 26:08Speaker 14: the S and P five hundred, and the Russell two
- 26:11Speaker 14: thousand are at all time highs. Thank you Donald Trump.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Wow. So these Wall Street guys, I guess they know
- 26:19Speaker 2: what they're doing. So that indicate that it's a very
- 26:21Speaker 2: very stable economy no matter what sanctions or whatever happens.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I start say thing, Emma, the fact that the stock
- 26:29Speaker 2: market is holding it, it just means that it's a
- 26:31Speaker 2: very rock solid, steady economy underneath everything.
- 26:34Speaker 14: Well it is. I mean, look, the stock market is
- 26:36Speaker 14: very valatile, you know, and it could crash by two
- 26:38Speaker 14: thousand points from how you never know. But so I
- 26:41Speaker 14: don't want to get too carried away of the market.
- 26:43Speaker 14: But there is a lot of confidence in the American
- 26:45Speaker 14: economy right now, and I think that is a result
- 26:48Speaker 14: of the fact that all of this investment capital is
- 26:50Speaker 14: coming into the country because of Trump. You know, Trump
- 26:53Speaker 14: isn't attracting hundreds and hundreds of billions. He says trillions.
- 26:56Speaker 14: I don't know if it's trillions, but it's yeah. And
- 27:00Speaker 14: you know that's a lot of money. And if you
- 27:02Speaker 14: think all that money is coming to the American economy,
- 27:04Speaker 14: then of course what do you want to do. You
- 27:05Speaker 14: want to get in front of that. You want to
- 27:07Speaker 14: invest before that, right, yeah, and so you know that
- 27:12Speaker 14: that's what you need to do is be confident in
- 27:14Speaker 14: the American economy. Look, I think we need a new
- 27:17Speaker 14: FED chairman. You and I have talked about this because
- 27:19Speaker 14: we got a guy who doesn't know what he's doing
- 27:22Speaker 14: in jer own Powell. But how about this?
- 27:24Speaker 6: Why is it that Larry Kudlow? Isn't it?
- 27:26Speaker 14: No we need because then we lose this show? Yeah, yeah,
- 27:31Speaker 14: with you and I are regulars on them. By the way, Mark,
- 27:33Speaker 14: you always do a great job on that show. I
- 27:35Speaker 14: always enjoy watching you. And what are you on this week?
- 27:38Speaker 2: By the way, you out to Actually I was just
- 27:40Speaker 2: on yesterday, wasn't it.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 27:41Speaker 14: Yesterday, you got yesterday? Okay, this is yesterday. But anyway,
- 27:45Speaker 14: so what about Laugher? What about Steve Forbes. What about
- 27:48Speaker 14: somebody who actually knows something about the economy and knows
- 27:50Speaker 14: how to make because you know, we've had such a
- 27:52Speaker 14: volatile Why did we have twenty three percent increase in
- 27:55Speaker 14: prices under Biden? Well, partly because we spent so much money,
- 27:58Speaker 14: partly because we have a FED chairman who knows not
- 28:00Speaker 14: he doesn't know what he's doing.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, Hey, the other thing that causes a great economy.
- 28:07Speaker 2: We're doing very well as far as energy. We're improving
- 28:10Speaker 2: on our energy.
- 28:10Speaker 6: Oh my god, what a success story this is, I.
- 28:13Speaker 14: Mean, our energy we are. I was just listening to
- 28:16Speaker 14: Chris Wright, who was a good friend of mine, by
- 28:18Speaker 14: the way. He's the new Energy Secretary doing a fantastic shop,
- 28:22Speaker 14: and he was making this point that we made in
- 28:25Speaker 14: the Hotline last week that the United States is now
- 28:28Speaker 14: producing more oil, gas and coal than any other time
- 28:31Speaker 14: in American history. So we're becoming an energy powerhouse again.
- 28:36Speaker 14: The problem is, Mark, if I may, You and I
- 28:39Speaker 14: are both old enough to remember the seventies and eighties
- 28:41Speaker 14: when Opek had at the blade at our neck and
- 28:43Speaker 14: they could throw the American economy into recession by you know,
- 28:48Speaker 14: increasing or decreasing the amount of oil they were producing.
- 28:51Speaker 14: So we were completely hostage to the Arab nations and
- 28:55Speaker 14: to you know, the OPEC countries, many of which are
- 28:58Speaker 14: not very favorable in the United States. Well, we how
- 29:01Speaker 14: did we get out of that crisis we started? You know,
- 29:03Speaker 14: we had the shale oil revolution, which made America the
- 29:06Speaker 14: number one produced oil and we broke the back of
- 29:09Speaker 14: the cartel. Now why do I say that, because now
- 29:12Speaker 14: we have a situation with minerals, precious minerals, the critical
- 29:15Speaker 14: minerals we need for our national defense, for our advanced manufacturing,
- 29:19Speaker 14: for our microchips. And guess where we're getting the minerals
- 29:22Speaker 14: from where? China? How crazy is that we have twelve
- 29:28Speaker 14: trillion dollars of mineral resources right below our feet in
- 29:35Speaker 14: the mountains of West Virginia and the mountains of the
- 29:39Speaker 14: Dakotas and then Utah and Colorado. We have to be
- 29:44Speaker 14: returning to a mining powerhouse, just as we were for
- 29:48Speaker 14: the you know, for the first one hundred and fifty
- 29:50Speaker 14: years of our country. So we we should be mined.
- 29:53Speaker 14: Just as Trump says, drill, baby drill, I say, mine,
- 29:56Speaker 14: baby mine.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I don't know that sounds like too much common sense,
- 30:01Speaker 2: that's right, exactly pretty.
- 30:03Speaker 14: Much to do it. And we got a great interior
- 30:04Speaker 14: secretary and.
- 30:05Speaker 6: Doug Bergham, I love the guy.
- 30:07Speaker 14: Why would we want? You know, by the way, there's
- 30:09Speaker 14: two countries I misspoke. There's two countries where we get
- 30:12Speaker 14: our minerals from now China, you know what.
- 30:14Speaker 6: The other one is India Russia?
- 30:17Speaker 2: Russia. Oh even worse, Seeve, those are.
- 30:19Speaker 14: Two friendly countries in the United States. How stupid is that?
- 30:23Speaker 2: Well?
- 30:23Speaker 14: I think sometimes I think people in Washington take stupid
- 30:26Speaker 14: pills every morning. Oh you know what, we want them
- 30:29Speaker 14: to be dependent on us. We don't want to be
- 30:31Speaker 14: dependent on them.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Well, Steve Moore, a lot of wisdom, a lot of
- 30:33Speaker 2: common sense. Hey, everybody, subscribe to his common sense, right,

- 30:55Speaker 2: Talk to you, Sam, right, take care, hey, and don't

- 31:22Speaker 2: meltdown by the Left and more coming up on seven
- 31:25Speaker 2: to ten WOIR
