- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost Famous podcast with.
- 0:02Speaker 2: iHeartRadio Almost Famous The Ogs. I figure i'll start this
- 0:08Speaker 2: one because I am going to be talking a lot
- 0:11Speaker 2: to you, Trista Sutter, Nay Wren. I gotta tell you
- 0:15Speaker 2: almost Famous the Ogs. We do a lot of things
- 0:17Speaker 2: on this show. We've been recapping the Special Forces, but
- 0:20Speaker 2: last night was the departure of my beautiful and talented
- 0:23Speaker 2: co host, Trista Sutter.
- 0:25Speaker 1: And I was texting you in the middle of the.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Show because I was so worried about you last night,
- 0:32Speaker 2: thinking of watching this show and knowing how desperately you
- 0:36Speaker 2: wanted to go.
- 0:37Speaker 1: To the end, and you.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Know last night obviously the show kicks off with us
- 0:42Speaker 2: seeing that Ali's gone, and then as they're getting ready
- 0:47Speaker 2: for the first mission, you leave the show and you're
- 0:51Speaker 2: medically I guess it was technically a medically left the
- 0:56Speaker 2: show writer. Was it a voluntary It was voluntary.
- 0:59Speaker 3: I had to hand him my arm band.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04Speaker 4: It was based in uh medical issues, or part of
- 1:08Speaker 4: it was. And I can share that experience. But continue
- 1:11Speaker 4: with your question, if you had if you had more.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Well, no, all I was going to say was I
- 1:15Speaker 2: was texting you last night because I was concerned about
- 1:18Speaker 2: how you might feel, you know, just knowing you, and
- 1:21Speaker 2: I mean, you and I are both people pleasers, and
- 1:24Speaker 2: you know, it's so hard to walk away from.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Something you committed to.
- 1:27Speaker 2: And I wanted you to know how I felt watching it,
- 1:31Speaker 2: which was what you said and how you composed yourself
- 1:37Speaker 2: and how you handled yourself. I thought was so respectful
- 1:39Speaker 2: to the process and to our service people, and you know,
- 1:44Speaker 2: and I think they felt that way too, Like he
- 1:46Speaker 2: didn't give you any grief.
- 1:47Speaker 1: He was like, yeah, no, you know, we appreciate you know.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I mean, it was like it was like their their
- 1:52Speaker 2: way of basically saying, like, if we could tell you
- 1:55Speaker 2: to go home, we would have, you know what I mean,
- 1:57Speaker 2: because you you just had hypothermia, you had just a
- 2:00Speaker 2: rough go and you know, and you said, you know,
- 2:03Speaker 2: like I have so much respect for what you all
- 2:06Speaker 2: do and our service people, and but I don't want
- 2:09Speaker 2: to be a burden to my team.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And I felt like that was such a very kind
- 2:14Speaker 1: thing to think.
- 2:15Speaker 2: About in that moment, because you know, especially in the
- 2:18Speaker 2: tasks that came later in this particular episode.
- 2:23Speaker 1: You know, there was hand to hand cobbat.
- 2:25Speaker 2: They were scaling the side of a wall, carrying five
- 2:29Speaker 2: hundred pound a gear up, a pulley.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I mean, you know, more water.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Stuff, you know, which you had just had hypothermia from
- 2:37Speaker 2: being in the water.
- 2:38Speaker 1: It's like, you know, would you have been a burden.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'm not saying you would have been a burden, but
- 2:43Speaker 2: would you have had a very difficult time after going
- 2:46Speaker 2: through what you had just gone through? I would say yes.
- 2:48Speaker 2: And I think that it was the right time, you know.
- 2:50Speaker 2: And you said you were at peace with it, and
- 2:52Speaker 2: I think you know. I guess my question was, after
- 2:55Speaker 2: having seen your exit on television, are you still at
- 2:58Speaker 2: peace with it?
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah? It's hard.
- 3:03Speaker 4: So a little background, I I'm leaving, we're doing for
- 3:08Speaker 4: everybody listening. We're doing this at six in the morning
- 3:11Speaker 4: Mountain standard times, so five Pacific, because Blakesley and I
- 3:15Speaker 4: are leaving to go to a dance competition. So I
- 3:18Speaker 4: watched my exit but not the rest of the show,
- 3:22Speaker 4: and just to see kind of what everyone everyone would see,
- 3:26Speaker 4: because I knew I would be getting questions and.
- 3:32Speaker 3: It's hard.
- 3:33Speaker 4: It's hard, and listen, I hate to live with regrets.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 3:39Speaker 4: I went into this and I said, I wanted to
- 3:42Speaker 4: give myself grace and say you go as long as
- 3:46Speaker 4: you can, like you, obviously, the goal is to make
- 3:50Speaker 4: it to the end. That that was the ultimate right
- 3:55Speaker 4: and I really truly wanted to. But what every one
- 4:00Speaker 4: doesn't see, and I've said this kind of over and
- 4:03Speaker 4: over again, is the in betweens, the running. When I
- 4:07Speaker 4: did feel like a burden, truly, like you, thank you
- 4:09Speaker 4: so much for your sweetness last night and this morning.
- 4:13Speaker 3: That was very sweet. It like literally got me tierry
- 4:17Speaker 3: just now.
- 4:18Speaker 4: And because I did truly feel like a burden, I
- 4:23Speaker 4: didn't want Golden or cam or Nathan or anyone, Christy,
- 4:30Speaker 4: anyone feeling like they had to give any extra effort
- 4:34Speaker 4: to take care of me when they really need to
- 4:37Speaker 4: focus on taking care of themselves. And then you don't
- 4:41Speaker 4: see any of what happened truly with the hypothermia, and
- 4:46Speaker 4: there were multiple people with hypothermia by the way, the.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Exhaustion from the beach.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I almost fainted on the beach, and after I got
- 4:55Speaker 4: to the vehicle. You know, I think I've told you this,
- 4:59Speaker 4: but and Chris explained it, I was turning blue, I
- 5:02Speaker 4: was lethargic, I couldn't hold my head up, lockjaw, like
- 5:06Speaker 4: all of these crazy things going on uncontrollable shaking and oh, sorry,
- 5:13Speaker 4: I haven't.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Woken up yet, can you tell?
- 5:16Speaker 4: So even though I woke up an hour ago, I
- 5:18Speaker 4: haven't woken up yet, so you know, I'm on the beach.
- 5:21Speaker 4: I'm going through, like, what is the most grueling workout
- 5:25Speaker 4: I have ever done in my life? And I'm about
- 5:29Speaker 4: to faint. And what I was thinking about this morning
- 5:32Speaker 4: is when I had my seizure that was about I
- 5:36Speaker 4: don't know, like seven years ago, ten years ago, I
- 5:39Speaker 4: don't know.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I don't even remember the date, but.
- 5:44Speaker 4: They never figured out why. And part of it was
- 5:48Speaker 4: I think that I fainted, at least in my mind,
- 5:51Speaker 4: and so when I am faced with the possibility of fainting,
- 5:57Speaker 4: my mind automatically goes to I can't because I'll have
- 6:01Speaker 4: another seizure, you know.
- 6:03Speaker 3: So that was like weighing.
- 6:07Speaker 4: On my on my mind in that moment, and I
- 6:09Speaker 4: went up to DS Rudy and said, I think I'm
- 6:13Speaker 4: gonna faint. I need to see a medic and he said, okay, well,
- 6:16Speaker 4: then you need to give me your armband if you're
- 6:17Speaker 4: going to go see the medic. And I was like,
- 6:20Speaker 4: but I don't want to. I just want to go
- 6:21Speaker 4: see him. And and mind you, Jordan had like gone
- 6:26Speaker 4: to like talk to them about like her panic panicking
- 6:29Speaker 4: in the water. So I was like, I'll just ask
- 6:31Speaker 4: to go see a medic. They said no, and he
- 6:34Speaker 4: said you can either keep going or go see the medic.
- 6:36Speaker 4: And so I kept going and I was like, I'm
- 6:40Speaker 4: not ready to go home, just like I was saying
- 6:42Speaker 4: to Cue when he was yelling at me, like all
- 6:44Speaker 4: the way up the hill of the beach. I was like,
- 6:48Speaker 4: I'm just not I'm not ready to go home. Now
- 6:52Speaker 4: flash forward to getting hypothermia and then.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Like change it. You know, she changed me.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Everything I as you saw to like last night's episode
- 7:06Speaker 4: when I said when I was crying in the warming
- 7:08Speaker 4: room and saying, I feel like I'm Michelle of a human.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I feel like a Michelle of myself. That was the
- 7:15Speaker 4: night before after I had come back and I just
- 7:21Speaker 4: had no energy. I just even even eating, I had
- 7:26Speaker 4: no energy. I was totally depleted and really close to
- 7:33Speaker 4: the I think limitations of what my body could do,
- 7:37Speaker 4: like truly because like having to face the possibility of
- 7:43Speaker 4: having another seizure just because I fainted, not that that
- 7:45Speaker 4: would definitely have happened. But in my mind I thought
- 7:48Speaker 4: it would was really really scary, and.
- 7:53Speaker 3: All they what they.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Kept saying to me in the mirror room interview was
- 7:57Speaker 4: it's going to get a lot harder. And I did
- 8:01Speaker 4: have the mirror room interview that nobody saw either, and
- 8:06Speaker 4: in that, you know, they gave me validation that they
- 8:09Speaker 4: saw that I was working one hundred percent for myself,
- 8:12Speaker 4: but also kept saying.
- 8:14Speaker 3: It's going to get harder.
- 8:15Speaker 4: It's going to get harder, and I think that was
- 8:17Speaker 4: their way of saying, go get some rest, like think
- 8:20Speaker 4: about what we just talked about and what you just
- 8:23Speaker 4: went through. And so after the mirror room, I walked
- 8:28Speaker 4: down with Rudy and he pulls off my hood and says,
- 8:34Speaker 4: I thought you were going to leave on the beach,
- 8:36Speaker 4: and I'm really proud of you that you didn't. That's
- 8:40Speaker 4: what it's all about, like just keep going, like, choose
- 8:43Speaker 4: to keep going if you feel like you can keep going,
- 8:45Speaker 4: And just like the kindness from him of saying, you know,
- 8:51Speaker 4: I'm proud of you.
- 8:52Speaker 3: You did really well.
- 8:54Speaker 4: And that's kind of like I wanted to go to
- 8:57Speaker 4: make myself proud, to make them proud, to make my husband,
- 9:00Speaker 4: my kid's proud, and I feel a little bit like
- 9:03Speaker 4: a like a hypocrite in talking about, you know, teaching
- 9:07Speaker 4: my kids to pick themselves up and keep going when
- 9:10Speaker 4: they are faced with hard things because I left, but
- 9:14Speaker 4: I also, in that moment at that night, chose to
- 9:19Speaker 4: keep going at least for that moment. And then we
- 9:25Speaker 4: you know, I took a really long shower. Ali was
- 9:27Speaker 4: talking about how she had the first shower and she
- 9:30Speaker 4: felt like she had to really be quick.
- 9:32Speaker 3: I took a long shower. Yeah.
- 9:33Speaker 4: I was like everyone else was already at that point,
- 9:37Speaker 4: like in their cots or like almost ready for bed,
- 9:41Speaker 4: and so I just took my time because I just
- 9:43Speaker 4: still had no energy. And then went to sleep for
- 9:47Speaker 4: I think two or three hours and woke up to
- 9:49Speaker 4: the like fireworks in the trash can, and and I
- 9:55Speaker 4: just had this piece come over me, like I it's okay,
- 10:00Speaker 4: okay to leeve this is your journey. You're feeling like
- 10:02Speaker 4: a burden. I hate that feeling. I hate that feeling.
- 10:09Speaker 4: And then just the kindness that I got, the fact
- 10:12Speaker 4: that they validated me for working one hundred percent of
- 10:16Speaker 4: my ability, and then just the massive amount of respect
- 10:20Speaker 4: that I that I gained from the already massive of
- 10:24Speaker 4: respect that I have for our military and special forces.
- 10:27Speaker 4: I gain that. And it's crazy to think it was
- 10:31Speaker 4: just two days, but it was a really long two days,
- 10:34Speaker 4: and I feel like I learned. I learned a lot. So,
- 10:38Speaker 4: you know, it's really hard going back to that initial question.
- 10:42Speaker 4: It's hard because in that moment, I did feel so
- 10:45Speaker 4: much peace, and I have to remind myself of that.
- 10:48Speaker 4: But watching it and knowing, you know, the bonding that
- 10:54Speaker 4: still continued to happen, and the personal challenges that they overcame,
- 10:58Speaker 4: and that kind of thing, and that's a whole you know,
- 11:01Speaker 4: one of the big reasons why we all go. I
- 11:06Speaker 4: do have a little bit of fomo, Like, I have
- 11:09Speaker 4: a little bit of a little bit of regret in that, well,
- 11:13Speaker 4: couldn't you have just woken up?
- 11:14Speaker 1: Oh?
- 11:15Speaker 4: And what you also didn't see is that, like they
- 11:18Speaker 4: show everyone kind of chill like at times they show
- 11:22Speaker 4: the chaos. But that morning when he said you have
- 11:26Speaker 4: fifteen minutes, and that is you got woken up like
- 11:30Speaker 4: out of nowhere. Right, Yeah, most of us are probably
- 11:33Speaker 4: dead asleep. You get woken up like in a really
- 11:37Speaker 4: dramatic way, right, And you have to make sure that
- 11:41Speaker 4: your pack, is your birkin is packed, that you get
- 11:45Speaker 4: some food, that you brush your teeth if you feel
- 11:48Speaker 4: like that's important, and I think most of us do that,
- 11:50Speaker 4: you like brush.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Your teeth, That you gather all of your clothes.
- 11:53Speaker 4: So you hear one somebody said, like someone took my sock,
- 11:57Speaker 4: like we were talking about with Ali yesterday. Like it's
- 11:59Speaker 4: really hard to just all of a sudden, you know,
- 12:03Speaker 4: fourteen of us or however many there were at this Yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 4: there were fourteen or thirteen, No fourteen because Ali was
- 12:10Speaker 4: still in it. Our trying to grab your clothes and
- 12:14Speaker 4: get dressed with your warm clothes. So anyway, I it
- 12:19Speaker 4: was mad chaos, and you didn't see the mad chaos.
- 12:23Speaker 4: You saw like Landon and Marion having a conversation, and
- 12:26Speaker 4: that was definitely not that morning. That morning, everyone was
- 12:31Speaker 4: like super focused on getting to the parade to stand
- 12:36Speaker 4: in parade. So anyway, I just I woke up with
- 12:40Speaker 4: this sense of peace. I was like, you know what,
- 12:43Speaker 4: this is too much for me. I don't want to
- 12:45Speaker 4: push my body past what it can do. And then
- 12:48Speaker 4: come to find out later that day after I had left,
- 12:51Speaker 4: after my exit interview, that they did the submersion in
- 12:55Speaker 4: freezing cold water and they felt and so I was like,
- 12:59Speaker 4: that is why they were telling me that it's just
- 13:02Speaker 4: going to get harder, because I think they knew that
- 13:05Speaker 4: I was pushed to my to my limit and and
- 13:11Speaker 4: they wanted me to kind of get to where I
- 13:14Speaker 4: where I got, I would assume it would be it
- 13:17Speaker 4: would be nice to talk to when we do talk
- 13:19Speaker 4: to Rudy and Billy, just to ask them, did they
- 13:22Speaker 4: know did they kind of push me a little bit
- 13:24Speaker 4: in that direction so that I wouldn't get hurt or
- 13:29Speaker 4: push my body too much?
- 13:30Speaker 3: I don't know. Anyway.
- 13:32Speaker 4: I do have a little regret, but I have to
- 13:34Speaker 4: remember there were certain reasons that I left.
- 13:37Speaker 2: You know, when we talked to Q, one of the
- 13:49Speaker 2: things that really resonated with me was, you know that
- 13:52Speaker 2: he is a kind person. He's a badass, that he's
- 13:56Speaker 2: a kind person, and I think, you know, like they
- 14:00Speaker 2: even said, they're like, you know, our goal isn't to
- 14:03Speaker 2: ruin these people. Our goal is to give them a
- 14:05Speaker 2: glimpse as to what we've gone through in our lives
- 14:08Speaker 2: so that they know how to push their bodies and
- 14:11Speaker 2: they reach their full potential.
- 14:12Speaker 1: So you know, I think like you know, there was a.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Common interview question that was answered after you left the
- 14:19Speaker 2: show going into the next the milling, which is the
- 14:23Speaker 2: actual hand to hand combat, and basically they asked everybody,
- 14:27Speaker 2: you know, how do you feel about violence? And you know,
- 14:31Speaker 2: everyone starts answering that question, and you know, everybody to
- 14:37Speaker 2: the letter, you know, I mean you have professional athletes,
- 14:39Speaker 2: you have you know, I mean, well, at this point,
- 14:42Speaker 2: I guess really you got a bunch of professional athletes
- 14:44Speaker 2: and a Disney actress. You know, that's kind of where
- 14:46Speaker 2: it's at at this point. Yeah too, And and you
- 14:50Speaker 2: know they're going through the questions with everyone, and everyone
- 14:55Speaker 2: do a number was pretty much like you know, hey, man,
- 14:57Speaker 2: I I mean.
- 14:58Speaker 1: I'll do what I got to do.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't I don't want violence, but if someone is
- 15:03Speaker 2: coming coming for me, I got to protect myself or whatever.
- 15:06Speaker 2: And it got to Nathan and Nathan's like, I've never
- 15:11Speaker 2: never hit anyone.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I've never been in a fight.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And you could tell when we interviewed him how kind
- 15:15Speaker 2: and just gentle he was, and it was it was
- 15:19Speaker 2: really interesting to watch that segment. I mean, Carrie Hart
- 15:24Speaker 2: looked like a professional boxer. I mean, honest to god,
- 15:27Speaker 2: you know, he you could tell that dude's been in
- 15:28Speaker 2: some scraps, you know. And then you have then you
- 15:31Speaker 2: have Kayla, Kayln Nicole, and she's like, you know, look,
- 15:36Speaker 2: I've been in a couple of situations where i had
- 15:37Speaker 2: to defend myself, so I'm not afraid to do it.
- 15:39Speaker 2: And and it was like she she you could tell
- 15:43Speaker 2: she knew what she was doing. You could tell Carrie
- 15:45Speaker 2: Hart knew what he was doing. Everybody else was just
- 15:48Speaker 2: sort of doing what they had to do. I mean, Cam,
- 15:51Speaker 2: I think just from his his physical presence was was
- 15:54Speaker 2: you know, poor Nathan, right, he had to get in
- 15:56Speaker 2: the ring with Cam because of their size.
- 15:59Speaker 1: But even to that.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Point, you know that they at one point they go, guys,
- 16:03Speaker 2: you're supposed to be hitting each other, not running into
- 16:06Speaker 2: each other. Like they were both just sort of like
- 16:08Speaker 2: running into each other and pushing each other down.
- 16:10Speaker 1: And and you know, at the end of it, Cam
- 16:12Speaker 1: was like he was trying to find some inner piece.
- 16:14Speaker 2: He's like all zend out, you know, because he popped
- 16:17Speaker 2: Nathan in the nose, and Nathan's nose was bleeding and
- 16:19Speaker 2: that ended up being knocked Nathan out. Marion Jones her
- 16:23Speaker 2: Ribs got broken. We're assuming she got They were both
- 16:26Speaker 2: medically you know, relieved of duty or whatever you call it. So,
- 16:31Speaker 2: I mean it was but man, that was the moment
- 16:33Speaker 2: where I was like, Trista Windhle because I could never
- 16:39Speaker 2: see you. I mean, you're a scrappy person. And don't
- 16:42Speaker 2: get me wrong, I mean no disrespect by this, but
- 16:44Speaker 2: I just don't. I couldn't see you being in there
- 16:47Speaker 2: punching someone in the face.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I just couldn't.
- 16:50Speaker 4: No disrespect taking. Yeah, so that was part of it.
- 16:56Speaker 4: And mind you, I'm in the hotel that we started
- 16:59Speaker 4: at before we left, so I'm back in one of
- 17:03Speaker 4: my room actually, and we're hearing from producers kind of
- 17:08Speaker 4: what's happening and what's going on with the other recruits,
- 17:15Speaker 4: and we hear all of the injuries. I mean, Nathan
- 17:20Speaker 4: broke his nose land and broke ribs, and Marion broke
- 17:24Speaker 4: ribs and they were all in the hospital like we
- 17:30Speaker 4: I'm sitting in the hotel talking to Denise being like,
- 17:35Speaker 4: you know, I'm sad to be gone, but I am
- 17:37Speaker 4: at peace that you know, I left, And then finding
- 17:40Speaker 4: out about that, we were like.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Thank god we left when we did.
- 17:45Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, you know going into it that
- 17:48Speaker 4: this is going to be part of it. If you've
- 17:50Speaker 4: watched previous seasons, right, they do it every season. There's
- 17:54Speaker 4: certain things they do every season. This is one of them.
- 17:57Speaker 4: And I've never been in a fight before. In the interview,
- 18:03Speaker 4: the pre interview that Nathan was shown saying, I, I
- 18:08Speaker 4: don't know. I haven't dealt with violence before. I said
- 18:13Speaker 4: that pretty much the same thing. I've never had to.
- 18:17Speaker 4: But I'll you know, I'll fight if I if I
- 18:20Speaker 4: need to, And I'm pretty positive I would have been
- 18:24Speaker 4: against Kyla where you know, the smaller.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Actually was Jordan.
- 18:30Speaker 4: No that that was after the water, so we haven't
- 18:33Speaker 4: talked about the water yet, but yeah, Jordan was gone.
- 18:36Speaker 4: So if Jordan was gone, then I definitely would have
- 18:38Speaker 4: fought Kyla, and I feel like we would have been okay,
- 18:43Speaker 4: but you just you just never know.
- 18:46Speaker 2: They didn't show Kyla's as much like I was wondering
- 18:49Speaker 2: if you would have been against Christie.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, Christy's taller, and I feel like her and
- 18:56Speaker 4: Alana are didn't they fight? They're a pretty good match,
- 19:00Speaker 4: her and Alana, and then Kayla and Marian and then
- 19:05Speaker 4: I think the guys were odd anyway, yeah, Nathan.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Corey fought or Carrie Hart fought Brody twice and
- 19:14Speaker 2: we didn't see.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Christy and Alana, so we didn't see much of that one.
- 19:17Speaker 2: We saw them, like we saw Christie's face getting you know,
- 19:20Speaker 2: the head gear put on and stuff. I didn't rely
- 19:22Speaker 2: see it, but yeah, you know to that point, that's right.
- 19:25Speaker 2: That was the second one. The first one was actually
- 19:27Speaker 2: they went back to water in a sinking boat and
- 19:30Speaker 2: they have to rescue the black Box. And even at that,
- 19:34Speaker 2: I'm like, thank god Tressa went home because I know
- 19:37Speaker 2: as they're going to the water, you even hear land
- 19:39Speaker 2: and you know he would he had even said He's
- 19:42Speaker 2: like I can't do more water.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I just can't.
- 19:45Speaker 2: You know, you hear a few people saying these things
- 19:47Speaker 2: and or maybe it wasn't Landed, but it was someone
- 19:50Speaker 2: but they were just like I can't.
- 19:51Speaker 3: You know, maybe Jordan, because she ended up going in yeah.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Well she yeah, she was not having it like she
- 19:57Speaker 2: She's just like I can't do it, and he's like
- 19:59Speaker 2: you can't. And that's when you sat, that's when you
- 20:01Speaker 2: sort of get a chance to see the d s's
- 20:04Speaker 2: you know, actually encouraging you and not just being hard
- 20:07Speaker 2: assd as. Like I thought it was really great to
- 20:10Speaker 2: be honest that they were like, you can do this.
- 20:12Speaker 2: You know, you could do this, Like they knew she
- 20:14Speaker 2: could do it if she just got over this this
- 20:17Speaker 2: fear and this panic that developed on the beach, you know.
- 20:21Speaker 1: But but you know, she couldn't get past it.
- 20:23Speaker 2: And and they were like, well then hand us, you know,
- 20:25Speaker 2: hand us your armband and we got to go. You know,
- 20:28Speaker 2: I really thought after after this series of uh of events,
- 20:32Speaker 2: they they brought Marion Jones into the mirrored room, and uh,
- 20:38Speaker 2: that was really touching for me, so to listen to her,
- 20:41Speaker 2: and you know, because she was One of the things
- 20:44Speaker 2: she did was, uh, she went down when she was
- 20:47Speaker 2: trying to undo the black box. You had to first
- 20:50Speaker 2: like unscrew this connector, then you had to undo both sides.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Then you had to swim up with a black box. Well,
- 20:56Speaker 2: she was doing great. She didn't get the connector all
- 20:59Speaker 2: the way on screwed, so she just physically pulled it out,
- 21:02Speaker 2: like pulled the cable out and swam out. And they
- 21:06Speaker 2: basically honed in on that and they were like, you know, uh,
- 21:09Speaker 2: physically you're gifted and you're you know, you're you're someone
- 21:12Speaker 2: that we thought was someone who would win at all costs,
- 21:15Speaker 2: but you're obviously someone who makes rash decisions and doesn't
- 21:21Speaker 2: listen or doesn't see the whole picture or something.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Like that to detail, doesn't listen to detail.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Yeah, And so it got her to start talking about
- 21:31Speaker 2: the doping scandal, which you know, she actually went to
- 21:34Speaker 2: prison for six months, she lost all of her medals
- 21:36Speaker 2: and records, which she's one of my favorite Olympians of
- 21:39Speaker 2: all time.
- 21:39Speaker 1: And I didn't realize all that.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Happened, Bob, Neither did I.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I had no idea, Like, honestly, I I think I
- 21:47Speaker 4: just my brain just pushed that stuff out about the
- 21:52Speaker 4: doping scandal, and all I remember when I saw her,
- 21:56Speaker 4: it was the same thing. She is one of my
- 21:58Speaker 4: favorite Olympians and and well.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I always remember her a cute smile and you know
- 22:03Speaker 2: all that like when she was in the Olympics.
- 22:05Speaker 1: And yeah, so it was so but you know, it
- 22:08Speaker 1: was interesting because she owns it like big time.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, and you're watching her in this interview
- 22:13Speaker 2: and she's like, it's me, I I made the choice,
- 22:16Speaker 2: like and they're like, oh, what a they gave her?
- 22:18Speaker 2: An opportunity to I don't know, step away from it
- 22:23Speaker 2: a little bit. They're like, you know, what a what
- 22:25Speaker 2: a horrible set of circumstances or whatever. I can't remember
- 22:27Speaker 2: what they said. And she's like, no, I made the
- 22:29Speaker 2: wrong decision in that moment. Yeah, and I shouldn't have
- 22:33Speaker 2: done it, but I most certainly shouldn't have, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 2: been misleading about it, and I chose to do that.
- 22:39Speaker 1: And so when all that happened, and you're just like, WHOA.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I love her.
- 22:44Speaker 4: I love her. I cannot wait to talk to her
- 22:47Speaker 4: on the podcast.
- 22:48Speaker 3: But she is.
- 22:49Speaker 4: She's one of my favorite people from the show. She
- 22:53Speaker 4: was just so caring and I people make make mistakes,
- 22:58Speaker 4: people make more choices, were human, you know, and I
- 23:02Speaker 4: love that she owned.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It, you know well, especially her circumstances.
- 23:06Speaker 2: And I'm not sure we can ask her this, I
- 23:08Speaker 2: guess when we have her on the show, but she
- 23:10Speaker 2: mentioned that when she went away to prison for six months,
- 23:15Speaker 2: she had a baby, like a young child. Oh, and
- 23:19Speaker 2: Anne had to go away, and you know, she was
- 23:21Speaker 2: talking about how her mom came to this country and
- 23:26Speaker 2: all she wanted to do was make her mom proud,
- 23:28Speaker 2: and here she disappointed everyone and you're.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Just like, yeah, and she's really close with her mom.
- 23:34Speaker 4: She was literally just in Turks and Caicos with her mom.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Oh no, I think, like I don't know if any
- 23:41Speaker 4: more family, but this last week she was in Turks
- 23:45Speaker 4: and Caicos. Anyway, I love her, and I, like I said,
- 23:50Speaker 4: I did see like little snippets from the show last
- 23:54Speaker 4: night as I was walking by the TV or whatever,
- 23:56Speaker 4: Ryan had it on, and I could he hear it happened,
- 24:00Speaker 4: and I'm I'm glad she got the opportunity to speak
- 24:03Speaker 4: about it and that it's airing, you know what I mean,
- 24:07Speaker 4: because because they didn't show my my mirror room interview,
- 24:10Speaker 4: It's not like I had anything like really significant to
- 24:13Speaker 4: talk about. I was just kind of explaining who I am.
- 24:16Speaker 4: But the fact that she got that, I bet that
- 24:19Speaker 4: was like a little cathartic, you know, for sure.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I hope yeah it was.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I will say this, like, I think one thing this
- 24:27Speaker 2: show does very well is when they when they have
- 24:31Speaker 2: those moments, you know, like we used to call my
- 24:34Speaker 2: tms right in the moments, and I don't know what
- 24:36Speaker 2: they call them these days, but I feel like they
- 24:39Speaker 2: do a really great job of giving people a chance
- 24:42Speaker 2: to have a redemption moment and you know, or whatever
- 24:47Speaker 2: it is if they're there from you know, one of
- 24:50Speaker 2: the other teamwork tasks I want to talk about really
- 24:51Speaker 2: quickly because it was kind of when you start seeing
- 24:54Speaker 2: the frustration on people, like you know, the fighting thing
- 24:58Speaker 2: was one thing that's just you know, can you be
- 25:01Speaker 2: have aggression in the moment and then reel it back,
- 25:03Speaker 2: you know, which is one of the things that the
- 25:04Speaker 2: Seals were the ds as we're talking about, they split
- 25:08Speaker 2: the team and they split the guys the people into
- 25:09Speaker 2: two teams and remaining people into two teams, and they
- 25:13Speaker 2: basically have to go on the beach, inflate a boat,
- 25:19Speaker 2: paddle this boat out around this buoye, and come back.
- 25:22Speaker 2: And it's it's basically, you know, we're going to see
- 25:24Speaker 2: who who can be a good leader. And so they
- 25:26Speaker 2: have essentially they have Golden Tate who was picked essentially
- 25:31Speaker 2: as a captain, and Brody and you know, I was
- 25:36Speaker 2: anticipating Golden just to shine in this moment because he's
- 25:39Speaker 2: been a team player, you know, an athlete's whole life,
- 25:42Speaker 2: and he's been you know, I know, he's been the
- 25:44Speaker 2: captain of you know things, and but he kind of
- 25:49Speaker 2: froze in the moment, and it really kind of created
- 25:51Speaker 2: tension on his team.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Yeah, like you know it's him. He had first pick.
- 25:56Speaker 2: He chose Cam. Then Brody had first pick or second chick,
- 26:01Speaker 2: he shose Carry. But like the way these teams came together,
- 26:04Speaker 2: you know, there were two people who were picked.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Last, obviously Christy and then I think no the actress.
- 26:15Speaker 3: I think Brody said.
- 26:16Speaker 4: I think Brody said that he when I was watching
- 26:19Speaker 4: that part and they were talking about Brodie's team, because
- 26:23Speaker 4: that's the only team that Brody has, right.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Anyway, he he Brody's team crushes it. Like they're two
- 26:34Speaker 2: minutes behind inflating the boat. The boat's not even fully inflated.
- 26:36Speaker 2: They gotta go on the water because they're gonna just lose.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Because yeah, uh, I think it was Team Alpha was
- 26:43Speaker 2: Golden's team. But anyway, they're already on the water, but
- 26:48Speaker 2: they were such a hot mess in the water.
- 26:50Speaker 1: It was insane and they were like just meandering all
- 26:54Speaker 1: over the place.
- 26:55Speaker 2: And now Golden or Brodie's team jumps in and he's
- 26:57Speaker 2: like all right, hard on the right, you know, and
- 26:59Speaker 2: there and he's just like you can tell the dud's
- 27:01Speaker 2: been around water. First of all, he's a great surfer,
- 27:03Speaker 2: and he's a he's a great athlete also, but he's
- 27:05Speaker 2: just a natural leader, you know, and.
- 27:08Speaker 1: He really takes charge of his team.
- 27:09Speaker 2: And they get in line and they're just doing it,
- 27:12Speaker 2: and the other team it's like everybody is you know,
- 27:15Speaker 2: Cam's yelling at Golden, Christie's yelling.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Kayla's yelling.
- 27:19Speaker 2: You know, they're all just like all over each other.
- 27:21Speaker 2: And and the fact that they even finished this thing
- 27:23Speaker 2: was pretty remarkable. Then they have to do what's called
- 27:25Speaker 2: a I think they called it a powder doughnut, which
- 27:28Speaker 2: is like basically their their punishment is they have to
- 27:30Speaker 2: go submerge themselves in the water. Then they have to
- 27:33Speaker 2: come back out, lay on the beach and cover themselves. Insane,
- 27:36Speaker 2: and it's and this just creates even more attention. So,
- 27:40Speaker 2: you know, you got Cam and Golden, who are both
- 27:43Speaker 2: have been in leadership positions. I'm sure their whole lives
- 27:45Speaker 2: for the most part, both professional athletes, kind of at
- 27:48Speaker 2: each other's you know, they're on each other's nerves pretty bad.
- 27:51Speaker 2: And and so you see this like tension between them.
- 27:54Speaker 2: You see, you know, Golden, one of the comments he
- 27:58Speaker 2: had made was, you know, and I've met his wife
- 28:01Speaker 2: once before. She's lovely, but he had said he's like
- 28:03Speaker 2: my wife says, I'm about her father, about her husband,
- 28:05Speaker 2: about her everything. When I've when I got something to do,
- 28:09Speaker 2: and he's like, he's like, I'm struggling right now. I'm
- 28:11Speaker 2: trying to find what I'm supposed to do next, and
- 28:13Speaker 2: you know, and you do. Hear this a lot with
- 28:15Speaker 2: professional athletes, especially in the NFL and the NBA and
- 28:19Speaker 2: MLB too. I mean all of them really, all the
- 28:20Speaker 2: all the professional sports. When they come out of those sports,
- 28:23Speaker 2: it's like, Okay, who am I now? Right, I've been
- 28:26Speaker 2: this guy my whole life? Now with the hell am
- 28:27Speaker 2: I supposed to do with myself?
- 28:29Speaker 1: And they struggle?
- 28:30Speaker 3: That was that was Ryan. That was Ryan.
- 28:33Speaker 4: So he chose to go into firefighting. But he you know,
- 28:37Speaker 4: you dedicate so much of your time. I mean he
- 28:40Speaker 4: was he was a walk on at CU and then
- 28:43Speaker 4: you know, got chosen in the draft, and I he
- 28:46Speaker 4: dedicated his life. Even though he got a college degree,
- 28:50Speaker 4: he was.
- 28:52Speaker 3: All about football.
- 28:53Speaker 4: So I think that's that's it's very similar to the
- 28:56Speaker 4: reason that I went and like trying to like find
- 28:59Speaker 4: myself and figure out what my next steps are after
- 29:02Speaker 4: the kids are gone, and I feel that I feel
- 29:06Speaker 4: like it's a great opportunity for it was a great
- 29:10Speaker 4: opportunity for all.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Of the recruits to figure that out.
- 29:13Speaker 4: So I think that was a great reasoning for him
- 29:16Speaker 4: to be on the show.
- 29:27Speaker 2: You know, they say ten percent of all high school
- 29:30Speaker 2: athletes make it into college athletics and then one percent
- 29:34Speaker 2: of those people make it to the pros. So there's
- 29:37Speaker 2: obviously a major commitment that goes into making it to
- 29:40Speaker 2: that point in your life anyway, So it's like, you know, yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 2: finding where you're going to go next, and it doesn't
- 29:45Speaker 2: matter if you're a professional athlete or if you're a
- 29:47Speaker 2: television personality or whatever, you know. I mean, we kind
- 29:50Speaker 2: of talked about it yesterday on the interview I had
- 29:53Speaker 2: with with the.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Almost Famous team.
- 29:55Speaker 2: But it's like, you know, I've been being this person
- 30:01Speaker 2: and you have two for twenty some years, right, so
- 30:05Speaker 2: it is who we are and it and then and
- 30:07Speaker 2: then you become a parent and that becomes who you are,
- 30:10Speaker 2: but you're still the person that you know. And I
- 30:12Speaker 2: find it flattering that I'll be at dinner with my
- 30:15Speaker 2: family and someone will come over and be like I
- 30:16Speaker 2: loved you, you know, like it was yesterday time, and
- 30:18Speaker 2: it's you know, so you you do have this kind
- 30:21Speaker 2: of thing like Ali was alluding to when we talked
- 30:23Speaker 2: with her the other day. You know, she was talking
- 30:24Speaker 2: about you know, I tell my daughter I'm not famous,
- 30:28Speaker 2: and she's like, well, people recognize you from the you know,
- 30:31Speaker 2: and they want.
- 30:32Speaker 1: To take pictures with you. And it's like the same.
- 30:34Speaker 1: You know. I was telling Canyon that story last night.
- 30:35Speaker 1: We were laughing about it.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, I said, I I guess Grayson's right.
- 30:39Speaker 2: You know, when the girl from McDonald's drops off our
- 30:42Speaker 2: our milkshakes and he thinks she wants to take a
- 30:44Speaker 2: picture with me, I'm like, no, honey, she's fourteen dropping
- 30:47Speaker 2: off milkshakes.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Trust me.
- 30:48Speaker 5: You know.
- 30:48Speaker 1: It's good.
- 30:49Speaker 2: But she doesn't know who I am, you know, but
- 30:52Speaker 2: it is you know, you do have to find yourself
- 30:54Speaker 2: at some point. And and that was kind of one
- 30:56Speaker 2: of the reasons why I never really left my day job,
- 30:58Speaker 2: was I I was afraid of if I was completely
- 31:02Speaker 2: out of the real world, so to speak. You know,
- 31:05Speaker 2: I grew up in the Midwest, so the real world
- 31:07Speaker 2: to me is you go to work every day, and
- 31:09Speaker 2: you know, and I struggled when all I was doing
- 31:12Speaker 2: was television stuff because I'd work for six months and
- 31:15Speaker 2: I'd be off.
- 31:15Speaker 1: For six months, and.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Everyone else be like, oh, I cry me a river,
- 31:18Speaker 2: But I'm like, that's not how I'm wired. I don't
- 31:20Speaker 2: know what to do with myself, and this is going
- 31:22Speaker 2: to get me in trouble, you know.
- 31:23Speaker 1: And so I went back.
- 31:25Speaker 2: To my day job, even though I kept doing all
- 31:27Speaker 2: the other stuff, fun stuff. But I think it's one
- 31:30Speaker 2: of those things, you know, you get to this point.
- 31:31Speaker 2: I understand why everyone's going on this show. I mean
- 31:34Speaker 2: I think not everyone. I understand why the sixteen people
- 31:38Speaker 2: who were selected to be on this show did it.
- 31:40Speaker 2: And it's the same reason I would do it. It's the
- 31:42Speaker 2: same reason that I think you did it.
- 31:44Speaker 1: You know.
- 31:45Speaker 2: It was it's time to find out who I am again,
- 31:48Speaker 2: and let's let's do this, you know.
- 31:50Speaker 1: And so I get it.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I get it, and I also get why now, especially
- 31:54Speaker 2: where the show has at, you know, with with you
- 31:57Speaker 2: leaving when you did, the show takes a time turned
- 32:00Speaker 2: to a little bit more of a physicality that that
- 32:03Speaker 2: kind of like the milling thing. And then it also
- 32:05Speaker 2: goes into this like teamwork makes a dreamwork type of phase,
- 32:09Speaker 2: and I think you would have done great there, you
- 32:11Speaker 2: know for sure. But getting to that point, they went
- 32:14Speaker 2: through these two really difficult moments that weeded out four
- 32:18Speaker 2: more people, you know, they I mean the show changed
- 32:22Speaker 2: considerably from the top of the episode where you leave
- 32:26Speaker 2: to the end of last night's episode.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I mean, it became a totally different show.
- 32:30Speaker 4: I feel, yeah, yeah, I agree, and like I mean,
- 32:35Speaker 4: like I said, this is one of the reasons that
- 32:37Speaker 4: I that I keep going back to for trying to
- 32:41Speaker 4: you know, ease my whatever you want to call it,
- 32:45Speaker 4: fomo or regret, and that is just that I I
- 32:51Speaker 4: didn't want to come home with an injury, a permanent injury,
- 32:56Speaker 4: be hospitalized, you know, have to have surgery, all of
- 33:00Speaker 4: those things you just you just never know. So I
- 33:03Speaker 4: am I am glad that I chose to leave when
- 33:10Speaker 4: I did and all the events that kind of happened
- 33:13Speaker 4: as they did to lead up to my departure. But
- 33:18Speaker 4: it is hard to watch, you know, like you know,
- 33:21Speaker 4: hard to see because even though the water was freezing
- 33:26Speaker 4: for the boat challenge, you know, I feel like all
- 33:29Speaker 4: the water was freezing anytime we got in the water
- 33:32Speaker 4: and I actually was fine with the water challenges oddly enough,
- 33:36Speaker 4: which is crazy to me.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I think you would have done fine in that one.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Actually I feel like that one. Like but so Ryan
- 33:43Speaker 4: was on fear factor. They always say that I was
- 33:45Speaker 4: on fear factor. I literally appeared to like give him
- 33:48Speaker 4: a kiss, like I was not on fear factor.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I just talked about this yesterday because they called me
- 33:53Speaker 2: to do fear factor.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I think is it back?
- 33:56Speaker 3: Oh, oh, you mean back then?
- 33:58Speaker 2: Back then, and I have talked about this. I can't
- 34:01Speaker 2: believe I've never told you this. And I was like,
- 34:03Speaker 2: no way, and they go, what do you mean you're
- 34:05Speaker 2: an athlete. I'm like, I am not going to eat anything.
- 34:08Speaker 2: It was about the eating things, and I remember saying
- 34:11Speaker 2: at the time, I said, I'm not gonna sit there
- 34:14Speaker 2: and chomp on bull balls in you know whatever. And
- 34:17Speaker 2: they they laughed and they're like, well, Ryan Sutter is
- 34:20Speaker 2: gonna do what we thought the two of you together
- 34:21Speaker 2: would be great. And I'm like, I would do anything
- 34:23Speaker 2: with Ryan, Honestly, God, I would.
- 34:24Speaker 1: I'm like, but I'm not doing that. I'll jump out
- 34:27Speaker 1: of a helicopter, I'll.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Do whatever, But when it comes I'm eating stuff that's moving,
- 34:32Speaker 2: I'm not doing And it was funny because I told
- 34:35Speaker 2: that story yesterday to somebody or to the almost famous
- 34:39Speaker 2: Career and they were laughing. But I was like, you
- 34:40Speaker 2: guys know, I know myself, like I know physical, physical
- 34:44Speaker 2: challenges don't frighten me.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Like I'm not afraid of heights.
- 34:46Speaker 2: I'm not afraid of I'm not claustrophobic like Ben was
- 34:49Speaker 2: saying he's pretty claustrophobic.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm good with that.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I'm like, but if someone puts something in front of
- 34:54Speaker 2: me that's moving or that's foreign to me, like I'll
- 34:57Speaker 2: eat anything, like if you if you know, I've been
- 35:00Speaker 2: in Italy and they bring out a fish and you know,
- 35:02Speaker 2: the eyes are still in it and they're like, you know,
- 35:04Speaker 2: you should really eat the cheeks.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I'm like, Okay, how do I do that? You know,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I'll try that. Yeah, I don't like it, but I'll
- 35:09Speaker 1: try it.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:10Speaker 2: But it's like, you know, you bring out something that
- 35:12Speaker 2: just still has steam rising off of it.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Not thanks, man, I'm good.
- 35:16Speaker 3: No, same same no.
- 35:18Speaker 2: So.
- 35:18Speaker 4: On Fear Factor, they did this challenge where they were
- 35:22Speaker 4: in a cage and the cage was like three quarters underwater,
- 35:26Speaker 4: like you maybe underwater up to here, and then they
- 35:30Speaker 4: spun it and you were spinning, and so you would
- 35:33Speaker 4: go underwater and then come back up and have a
- 35:36Speaker 4: breath and then spin and you had to unlock a
- 35:39Speaker 4: bunch of locks to get out of the cage. And
- 35:45Speaker 4: he was Ryan said, I the water stuff, that kind
- 35:49Speaker 4: of stuff, when you're locked in a cage is really hard.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Like mentally you have to be like legitimately.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Like it's okay to stay calm.
- 35:59Speaker 4: I kept hearing Brody say stay calm, stay calm to
- 36:02Speaker 4: someone whoever was doing it, maybe it was Kayla, and
- 36:07Speaker 4: it's true, like you, I think in those moments. The
- 36:10Speaker 4: only reason that I feel like I could have passed
- 36:13Speaker 4: that one is because I feel like in those those
- 36:17Speaker 4: water moments, I was able to get past the cold
- 36:21Speaker 4: and just focus on the task. And they give you
- 36:25Speaker 4: a couple opportunities to come back up, take a breath,
- 36:29Speaker 4: go back down, come back. So if I would be
- 36:31Speaker 4: would have been able to do that, then I think
- 36:34Speaker 4: I would have done okay.
- 36:35Speaker 1: But yeah, they left that, they left that way. Yeah,
- 36:39Speaker 1: also people could go up and breathe. You know you
- 36:41Speaker 1: brought up Brody Jenner, I did want to make sure
- 36:42Speaker 1: we touched on this.
- 36:43Speaker 2: You know, I think this show is uh better for
- 36:48Speaker 2: some people than others, right from the standpoint of image rehab.
- 36:53Speaker 2: And yeah, not that he needed image rehab, but no, right,
- 36:57Speaker 2: I really I've always really liked Brody Jenner, but watching
- 37:01Speaker 2: him on this show and his Mirrored Room conversation last night,
- 37:04Speaker 2: he talked a lot about the Bruce Caitlyn thing. Yeah,
- 37:08Speaker 2: and uh, you know, he he said, he's like, I
- 37:11Speaker 2: felt abandoned. Uh, He's like, you know, I'll never forget
- 37:14Speaker 2: my dad marries into this new family and they've got
- 37:18Speaker 2: a bunch of kids, and next thing you know, they're
- 37:20Speaker 2: in and the one of the one of the DS's
- 37:22Speaker 2: was like, was that is that the family we all
- 37:23Speaker 2: know from the show.
- 37:24Speaker 1: And he's like yes, and he's like, how did that
- 37:26Speaker 1: make you feel?
- 37:26Speaker 2: He's like, I felt abandoned, you know, I felt like
- 37:29Speaker 2: I didn't have my dad anymore and he didn't come
- 37:31Speaker 2: around and I needed him, you know. And it's like
- 37:34Speaker 2: then he transitions to become Caitlin, and you know, and
- 37:38Speaker 2: and and and Brodie is very respectful of that too,
- 37:41Speaker 2: and the d s's were very respectful of that as well.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I thought.
- 37:44Speaker 2: But it was like one of those things where you're
- 37:45Speaker 2: watching this this guy and you always just assume that
- 37:49Speaker 2: these people have they have.
- 37:50Speaker 1: It all right.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Oh, you know, and I've known Brody. I've known Brodie
- 37:53Speaker 2: for years. I met him several times. Thought he was
- 37:55Speaker 2: really nice. I shouldn't say I know him like we're buddies,
- 37:58Speaker 2: but I know of him and we have friends in common,
- 38:01Speaker 2: and everybody who.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Knows him loves him.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Man. And yeah, I will say watching him on the show,
- 38:06Speaker 2: I think I think it gives America a chance to
- 38:09Speaker 2: love him too, because some people probably just hate him
- 38:12Speaker 2: because he's the rich kid who you know, had a TV.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Show on the Hills. Yeah, he's in the Hills.
- 38:18Speaker 2: And it was like, you know, he didn't really give
- 38:20Speaker 2: a chance to show who he was on the Hills.
- 38:21Speaker 1: He was a character, you know, they all were. And man,
- 38:25Speaker 1: he's just I.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Think coming through, at least from me from a viewership perspective,
- 38:31Speaker 2: I'm like loving this guy and I and I'm seeing
- 38:34Speaker 2: a grit about him that you wouldn't expect some you know,
- 38:38Speaker 2: silver spoon kid to.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Have, right and and uh.
- 38:41Speaker 2: And it's like it's impressive, It's really impressive. I was
- 38:45Speaker 2: I wanted to make sure I said that because I think,
- 38:48Speaker 2: you know, I have predictions.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Now that I think it's time for me to start
- 38:52Speaker 1: making some predictions. And I know you can't make them.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I can't because I know, but I will know.
- 38:56Speaker 4: So I do want to say that I totally agree
- 38:59Speaker 4: with you the Brodie thing. I think that you're right.
- 39:03Speaker 4: He didn't need a redemption story. It's not like he's
- 39:05Speaker 4: done anything you know, that needs redeeming. But I really
- 39:11Speaker 4: feel like like he is kind of coming into his
- 39:16Speaker 4: own in this show.
- 39:18Speaker 1: You know, like girl he's talking about.
- 39:21Speaker 3: She's adorable.
- 39:24Speaker 1: This for her.
- 39:25Speaker 4: I know, he's such a proud dad talking about his family. Yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 4: he just he is in love with his girls and
- 39:35Speaker 4: you know, they're they're adorable and amazing, and I feel
- 39:38Speaker 4: like they have a pretty a pretty great life.
- 39:42Speaker 3: And I just I've loved that too.
- 39:45Speaker 4: I love I loved getting to know him. Uh yeah, anyway,
- 39:53Speaker 4: I totally agree with you.
- 39:54Speaker 2: So there was a there was a statement on the
- 39:56Speaker 2: show last night that I totally agreed with. It was
- 39:58Speaker 2: they were talking about kids and he saw about his daughter,
- 40:01Speaker 2: and Cam was talking about his kids and Golden talking
- 40:04Speaker 2: about his kids, and it was it was a guy.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Thing, so you know it was.
- 40:08Speaker 2: But one of the guys said, you know, it doesn't matter.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I don't know if it was a DS that said this.
- 40:13Speaker 2: I'm not sure who said it, but I was like,
- 40:15Speaker 2: oh my god, it just caught my attention. And they said,
- 40:18Speaker 2: you know, it doesn't matter how great or how terrible
- 40:20Speaker 2: of a parent you had. When you become a parent,
- 40:24Speaker 2: the goal has to be that you want to give
- 40:26Speaker 2: your kids a better life than you had, and you want.
- 40:28Speaker 1: To get better. Was that Carrie?
- 40:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it was so touching. I was like, oh wow,
- 40:33Speaker 2: that was powerful and I totally agree with it, you know.
- 40:36Speaker 2: So yeah, there I go again. I cry every time
- 40:38Speaker 2: I talk about my kids. But early, come on, guys,
- 40:43Speaker 2: give me.
- 40:44Speaker 4: A break in it's early. Okay, So what are your predictions?
- 40:47Speaker 2: So okay, So I I think and I don't. I'd
- 40:53Speaker 2: never I'll be honest. This is probably a horrible admission
- 40:57Speaker 2: to make. But I've never seen the end of this show,
- 40:58Speaker 2: like All the Sea since previous I know Bachelor people
- 41:02Speaker 2: have wanted a couple of times. I've not watched it,
- 41:04Speaker 2: so I don't know how they decide how the end
- 41:09Speaker 2: of this thing goes. But if I had to, you know,
- 41:14Speaker 2: I'm going to divide it into like like two camps here.
- 41:16Speaker 2: I think I think if there's does it have to
- 41:19Speaker 2: be two people that win?
- 41:21Speaker 1: Is that how it goes? Or not win?
- 41:22Speaker 3: But as many as finished?
- 41:24Speaker 1: Okay, So I think I think.
- 41:28Speaker 2: I think Cam Newton uh, just from his sheer physical
- 41:35Speaker 2: ability to do things clearly are out of his wheelhouse,
- 41:39Speaker 2: but he gets it done his his his pure athleticism.
- 41:43Speaker 2: I think he's going to make it very very far.
- 41:45Speaker 2: I think Carrie Heart's going to make it very very far.
- 41:47Speaker 2: I think Brody Jenner is going to make it very
- 41:49Speaker 2: very far. And I also think.
- 41:52Speaker 1: That Kayla is a Kayla Nicole Ka Nicole. I think
- 41:57Speaker 1: Kayla Nicole, I think those are going to be our
- 41:59Speaker 1: for left standing. I think I think she is a force.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Yeah, she is, you know, and I think I said
- 42:09Speaker 2: it in an earlier episode. I was touched by, you know,
- 42:12Speaker 2: the way she handled the whole thing and giving compliments
- 42:15Speaker 2: that Taylor Swift and everything else. But I didn't know
- 42:18Speaker 2: who she was until this show. I had no clue,
- 42:21Speaker 2: you know, I'm like, why is this person there? You know?
- 42:23Speaker 3: No, I'll tell you my story.
- 42:25Speaker 4: I got to tell you my story about how so
- 42:28Speaker 4: we were in the vehicle and the vehicle together, I
- 42:32Speaker 4: feel like the first vehicle, which was driving from the
- 42:37Speaker 4: boat that we got pushed into the water and had
- 42:40Speaker 4: to swim to the next task or going to accommodations.
- 42:45Speaker 4: And she was in the car with me, and I
- 42:48Speaker 4: was like, so, what's your sport?
- 42:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I remember you told me that.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. She was like, I don't really have
- 42:58Speaker 3: a sport.
- 42:59Speaker 4: And I was like I didn't know how to to ask, like.
- 43:05Speaker 1: How do I know you? Yeah?
- 43:06Speaker 3: Yeah, how do I know you? What are you? What
- 43:08Speaker 3: are you known for? Why did they why? Why are
- 43:12Speaker 3: why are you doing the show? Like what's your reason?
- 43:15Speaker 4: And I probably should have just said that, but I
- 43:18Speaker 4: just assumed because she is a physical like.
- 43:24Speaker 3: A powerhouse.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Yeah yeah that I was like, naturally, she she is.
- 43:30Speaker 4: She just seems like an athlete, right, and she is
- 43:33Speaker 4: an athlete, but just not in the like Olympic term,
- 43:37Speaker 4: you know, athlete when we have all of these other
- 43:39Speaker 4: Olympic athletes. So yeah, yeah, she is a powerhouse. And yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 4: that's a good list.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Now I think that's my list, But then I gotta
- 43:59Speaker 2: be honest. I feel like Christy Romano. She could she
- 44:02Speaker 2: could be at the end of that Chris Carlson Roman
- 44:05Speaker 2: She's tough, you know, like she was showing showing her grit,
- 44:09Speaker 2: you know, getting kind of pissed off when they were
- 44:11Speaker 2: on the on the raft and then she was a
- 44:13Speaker 2: team leader in one thing, and you know, she's she's
- 44:17Speaker 2: got her team, a bunch of really strong personalities and
- 44:21Speaker 2: she's trying to She was the last person picked, and
- 44:24Speaker 2: so was Kyla.
- 44:25Speaker 1: And they flipped the script and they let those two
- 44:27Speaker 1: lead and another segment.
- 44:29Speaker 2: And and Christy Carlson Romano's team wins, just barely, but
- 44:34Speaker 2: they win, come from behind him win, And uh, it
- 44:37Speaker 2: was it was interesting because she a totally different side
- 44:40Speaker 2: of her came out.
- 44:40Speaker 1: I was like, holy shit.
- 44:42Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean, it's it's gonna be really interesting
- 44:45Speaker 2: to see as this show winds down.
- 44:47Speaker 1: But but in my mind, I can, I can. Another
- 44:52Speaker 1: one is what's the woman's name?
- 44:54Speaker 2: Is it?
- 44:54Speaker 1: Alana? The pro surfer model. She's been so under the radar.
- 45:00Speaker 2: After talking to Christy about that, you know how her
- 45:02Speaker 2: husband had said stay under the radar and just don't
- 45:05Speaker 2: don't be a show voter and a complaint. Yeah, she's
- 45:09Speaker 2: not she has not been any of those things, and
- 45:12Speaker 2: she's continuously moving forward. She might be someone actually who
- 45:17Speaker 2: comes from out of nowhere and surprises me on this one, because.
- 45:21Speaker 1: At one point Ystagram, I'm like, who the hell's that person?
- 45:23Speaker 1: Like I almost hadn't even seen him yet.
- 45:25Speaker 2: I hadn't even seen her yet, and then all of
- 45:27Speaker 2: a sudden, there she is, and and she was doing something,
- 45:31Speaker 2: you know, really well.
- 45:32Speaker 1: I think it was with the boat or something.
- 45:34Speaker 2: She was just you know, partnering, and she and Kylo
- 45:36Speaker 2: were just digging in. And so yeah, I think, I
- 45:40Speaker 2: don't know. I guess I got five still in my
- 45:43Speaker 2: mind goes five at the end, but I mean it's not.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Really a stretch, right, there's only uh, I think there's
- 45:50Speaker 1: six seven left.
- 45:52Speaker 3: There's there's eight eight left, right, Yeah.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Let's see, there's Brody, Brody and Carrie, Kyla and Alana.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Then you've got Golden, cam Christie and.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Caylen Nicole.
- 46:14Speaker 2: So yeah, man, I gotta be honest, I think and
- 46:18Speaker 2: I love Golden and I hate to say this, but
- 46:20Speaker 2: I think I think Golden like after this last episode,
- 46:24Speaker 2: he was really down on himself, like really down.
- 46:26Speaker 4: Yeah, they show him like punching the burkins with all
- 46:31Speaker 4: the sand on his face still because didn't he lose.
- 46:34Speaker 4: He just didn't stand like he didn't do as well
- 46:37Speaker 4: as he thought he would probably in the leadership task.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Well he's a born leader, I mean, you know.
- 46:42Speaker 4: Yeah, he thought he failed his team and and that
- 46:45Speaker 4: you remember when I was like consoling him, kind of
- 46:49Speaker 4: consoling him in the vehicle, saying it's okay, I've got
- 46:52Speaker 4: I've got you, You've got me, We've all got each other.
- 46:55Speaker 4: And and I think he just is so hard on
- 46:59Speaker 4: himself when when he isn't able to lift people up
- 47:05Speaker 4: to help them, and I think he felt bad about that.
- 47:09Speaker 4: Obviously he was. He was upset in the in the vehicle.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's interesting.
- 47:16Speaker 4: It is interesting, and I'm I can't wait for.
- 47:19Speaker 3: You to see like I want to see.
- 47:21Speaker 4: Obviously then I wasn't there, so I know what happens,
- 47:25Speaker 4: and I know the kind of task that they do
- 47:28Speaker 4: and who makes it to the end.
- 47:30Speaker 3: But it'll be really interesting to see it all unfold.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Kyla said something in the last night's episode that I
- 47:35Speaker 2: thought was great too. She's like I teach my kids
- 47:38Speaker 2: there's there is no failure. That word doesn't exist to me,
- 47:41Speaker 2: and I thought that was great too. She's like, you know,
- 47:43Speaker 2: I'm gonna, I'm gonna. I mean, it's kind of like
- 47:46Speaker 2: the Tom Brady addage. You know, it's not win or lose,
- 47:48Speaker 2: it's win or learn. And I've always loved that.
- 47:51Speaker 4: Oh wow, I love that tea so and honestly, that
- 47:56Speaker 4: one helps me process because you know, it's not failure
- 48:03Speaker 4: quote unquote. If you know, you can call me a failure.
- 48:07Speaker 4: I'm sure there are plenty of people on Reddit that
- 48:09Speaker 4: are calling me a failure, like we were talking about
- 48:12Speaker 4: with Ali. But I'm gonna look at it like that.
- 48:16Speaker 4: I'm gonna look at it like it wasn't a failure.
- 48:19Speaker 4: It was just my journey, and my journey due to
- 48:23Speaker 4: you know, certain reasons. Uh, it just came to an
- 48:28Speaker 4: end sooner than you know, most other people and then
- 48:34Speaker 4: the know a.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Lot longer than a lot of people on this show.
- 48:37Speaker 3: I mean, uh yeah, I know, I know, I know.
- 48:44Speaker 4: I was the fourth well, and honestly, I was technically
- 48:48Speaker 4: the third because because I we woke up that morning
- 48:55Speaker 4: and Ali was still in it. She was still going
- 48:58Speaker 4: like like she was going to go on parade, and
- 49:01Speaker 4: so I was leaving and they were all out in
- 49:04Speaker 4: the parade square and she got asked to leave the
- 49:08Speaker 4: parade square, so I had already left, so technically I
- 49:12Speaker 4: was the third person to leave, even though they show
- 49:15Speaker 4: Ali leaving as the third person.
- 49:18Speaker 1: I wonder why they made that choice. You know that
- 49:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 49:21Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 49:21Speaker 4: I don't no idea. Yeah, I don't know. I just
- 49:28Speaker 4: I love that we're watching again. I love recapping these episodes,
- 49:32Speaker 4: and it'll be fun to watch all.
- 49:35Speaker 3: A'll obviously watch the next episode, but it's just it was.
- 49:38Speaker 4: It was crazy town yesterday, like justriving, driving here and
- 49:42Speaker 4: there and everywhere, and trying to pack and trying to
- 49:45Speaker 4: pay bills and do things that I had to do
- 49:47Speaker 4: before we leave until tuesday, and.
- 49:49Speaker 2: You lived it right, and you lived it. So it's
- 49:51Speaker 2: like there's a point of which I understand totally. You know,
- 49:54Speaker 2: I do love doing this, and I hope our listeners
- 49:57Speaker 2: are loving it too, because I am feeling like I'm
- 50:00Speaker 2: learning so much about so many people. This has been
- 50:04Speaker 2: fascinating for me. I don't know why this one has
- 50:06Speaker 2: been particularly gripping for me. It was kind of funny
- 50:09Speaker 2: they were asking me yesterday.
- 50:11Speaker 5: On the almost famous podcast with Ben and And and Ashley,
- 50:18Speaker 5: and they asked me, They're like, you know, why do
- 50:20Speaker 5: you think the Golden Bachelor cast seems to prefer you
- 50:23Speaker 5: guys over us?
- 50:23Speaker 2: And I'm like, well, they say people like to identify,
- 50:26Speaker 2: like to talk with people their own age.
- 50:28Speaker 1: That's probably why. And I'm their age, trist is not,
- 50:30Speaker 1: but I am. And And it was funny, you know,
- 50:33Speaker 1: but it was one of those.
- 50:34Speaker 2: Moments where you know, I don't know why this show
- 50:37Speaker 2: has me so just wrapped, but it does, like I
- 50:40Speaker 2: find myself just kind of like, you know, following it
- 50:44Speaker 2: to such a degree.
- 50:45Speaker 1: It's it's like, I don't know.
- 50:47Speaker 2: I'm really looking forward to the next week's episode cause
- 50:49Speaker 2: I think I think a lot is going to shake out,
- 50:52Speaker 2: I really do. I mean, it's going to be like
- 50:54Speaker 2: the way this one was where we drop a lot
- 50:56Speaker 2: of people dropped. I think I think next week's probably
- 50:58Speaker 2: gonna be the same way. So it'll be a saying
- 51:00Speaker 2: to see how it goes.
- 51:02Speaker 4: Okay, I'm dying to I'm gonna I'll go listen obviously,
- 51:04Speaker 4: But you guys were talking about special forces when you
- 51:08Speaker 4: talk to Ashley and Ben.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Only only just in I don't even know if it'll
- 51:12Speaker 2: be in the interview other than we were talking about
- 51:14Speaker 2: you know. It was it was like the lead up
- 51:16Speaker 2: to the new Bachelor season, and so they're interviewing all
- 51:18Speaker 2: the bachelor's and we the episode is not even out yet,
- 51:21Speaker 2: but we we talked. They just talked about almost famous
- 51:25Speaker 2: dogs and you know what we do on the show,
- 51:27Speaker 2: and you know the fact that people really seem to
- 51:30Speaker 2: like it, and and I was like, yeah, right now,
- 51:32Speaker 2: we're we're recapping the Special Forces, you know, because Trista
- 51:35Speaker 2: was on that and Trista's you know the reason I'm
- 51:38Speaker 2: even here right going on Trista's.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Season and stop it.
- 51:42Speaker 2: They didn't even they didn't even know the whole Oprah thing,
- 51:44Speaker 2: you know that they didn't even know that about that.
- 51:45Speaker 3: I forget.
- 51:47Speaker 2: No, they didn't know the whole Like I was like, yeah,
- 51:49Speaker 2: I was, you know, I was a guest on oprah
- 51:51Speaker 2: show like twelve times while The Bachelorette was airing. And
- 51:54Speaker 2: then Oprah's like, I want Bob to be the next Bachelor,
- 51:56Speaker 2: and that was pretty much it, you know, and yeah,
- 51:59Speaker 2: I'm like I was really enjoying my lovable loser role
- 52:02Speaker 2: that I was playing. Oh, like, you know, everywhere I went,
- 52:08Speaker 2: I'm the guy that was I can't believe she didn't
- 52:10Speaker 2: pick in.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Like, trust me, she made the right choice. But I
- 52:15Speaker 1: did love hearing it, right, I'm like, yeah, you're right.
- 52:19Speaker 3: I love it.
- 52:20Speaker 4: Okay, yay, Well, yeah, I'm sorry that we had to
- 52:25Speaker 4: wake up so early. I know it's not as early
- 52:27Speaker 4: for you, but I'm sorry we had to wake up
- 52:29Speaker 4: so early because of my flights. But this has been
- 52:33Speaker 4: so fun and I hope that everyone out there continues
- 52:35Speaker 4: to watch Special Forces. If you can't watch on Wednesday
- 52:39Speaker 4: nights on Fox, then you can stream it on Hulu
- 52:43Speaker 4: starting the day after. So hopefully everyone can watch this
- 52:47Speaker 4: really like we you know, we have this text thread
- 52:51Speaker 4: with everybody, and last night it was blowing up and
- 52:58Speaker 4: how funny is this one?
- 52:59Speaker 3: So brody was.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Like I almost spit my drink out when I heard
- 53:04Speaker 4: Ben Affleck looking ass, Like when when Golden was talking.
- 53:12Speaker 2: He's like, he's just handsome Hollywood Ben Affleck looking ass
- 53:15Speaker 2: walking around.
- 53:18Speaker 3: I thought it was so cute.
- 53:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's really fun, Kayla said, I might be biased,
- 53:25Speaker 4: but our season and cast is definitely the best, and.
- 53:28Speaker 3: I I agree.
- 53:30Speaker 4: I feel like we had such we got so lucky,
- 53:33Speaker 4: which is part of the reason that I have that
- 53:35Speaker 4: fomo with the cast. Everyone is incredible and from such
- 53:39Speaker 4: different walks of life.
- 53:42Speaker 3: You know.
- 53:43Speaker 4: Even there like three or four four Olympic athletes, they're
- 53:49Speaker 4: you know, they're in totally different sports. So it's like,
- 53:54Speaker 4: I think Landon and Marion realized that they were at
- 53:57Speaker 4: the Olympics at the same time.
- 53:58Speaker 1: We did those Olympics. Now that's crazy.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so cool. So I just I love our cast.
- 54:06Speaker 4: I love the show. I'm just so grateful to have
- 54:09Speaker 4: been part of it, and I hope everyone keeps watching.
