- 0:00Chapter 11 from the book of Isaiah.
- 0:03This is a really good one because this was written about
- 0:072700 plus years ago and it talks about Jesus and it talks about
- 0:14the return of Jesus. And I will give all the
- 0:17references because a lot of times biblical, the Bible in
- 0:22verse, scripture interprets scripture.
- 0:26So within the Bible you'll find multiple accounts and I always
- 0:30think about when God used 2 witnesses to establish truth.
- 0:34So that happens within the Bible as well.
- 0:37So I will reference those and read those in addition to this
- 0:41one. But first, let it like always,
- 0:44let's pray and ask God to be with us as the Holy Spirit for
- 0:48revelation insight. And please open the eyes of
- 0:52anyone who listens to this podcast so that they can confirm
- 0:57the truth that is spoken in here 2700 years ago and that everyone
- 1:03will come to see that the Bible is real.
- 1:07It is true. It is so important for every
- 1:10single person to take hold of and get into it every day.
- 1:15Read it, study it, learn about it.
- 1:17It says in the Bible it says my people are destroyed from a lack
- 1:21of knowledge. If we don't get into the Bible
- 1:24we know we are at a detriment. So dear Lord please be with us
- 1:29and please help us see this, help us see the importance of
- 1:32this and encourage us to continue with you.
- 1:37We ask for this in Jesus name, Amen.
- 1:40OK, so Chapter 11, a shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse
- 1:47when I forgot to do this one. But the genealogy, I forgot
- 1:52which gospel it is that actually talks about the genealogy of
- 1:57Christ. And I'm going to see if I can
- 2:00find that really quickly because it shows how Jesus descended
- 2:05from the tribe of Judah and also from, I don't know if it was
- 2:11like in Matthew. I, I yes.
- 2:17OK, cool. All right.
- 2:19I got it. So anyway, a shoot will come up
- 2:23from the stump of Jesse. So we can, if I could, I could
- 2:29read all of it to you. But the root of Jesse.
- 2:34I'm trying to find out where that is.
- 2:42Oh shoot, I don't OK, there we are.
- 2:47OK Matthew verse our chapter one verse 6 and Jesse, the father of
- 2:54King David. David was the father of Solomon,
- 2:58whose mother had been Uriah's wife.
- 3:00It goes through the whole genealogy here, and then at the
- 3:04very end it gets to and Jacob the father of Joseph, the
- 3:10husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus, who is
- 3:14called the Messiah. And it concludes with Thus there
- 3:18were 14 generations in all from Abraham to David, 14 from David
- 3:24to the exile to Babylon, and 14 from the exile to the Messiah.
- 3:32So it gives all it accounts for Jesus so that a shoot will come
- 3:36up from the stump of Jesse. So Jesse is, I guess a tree is
- 3:42personified as you know, like comment like a family tree where
- 3:47something will come from Jesse. Well, this is Jesus from his
- 3:52roots. A branch will bear fruit.
- 3:57OK, so the branch. This is referred to several
- 4:01times. So in let's see in Jeremiah
- 4:06chapter 23 verse 5, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when
- 4:12I will raise up for David a righteous branch, a king who
- 4:18will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.
- 4:25In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety.
- 4:32This is the name by which he will be called the Lord, our
- 4:36righteous Savior. So then the days are coming,
- 4:43declares the Lord, when people will no longer say, as surely as
- 4:46the Lord lives, who brought up the Israelites out of Egypt, but
- 4:49they will say, as surely as the Lord lives, who brought the
- 4:53descendants of Israel up out of the land to the north, and out
- 4:58of all the countries where he had banished them, then they
- 5:01will live in their own land. So this is the return of Jesus
- 5:07when he, that's when he becomes the Savior.
- 5:11He actually saved us on the cross when he died on the cross.
- 5:13But when he returns back and reigns as king, that's when the
- 5:18final peace that they would talk about.
- 5:19The peace and safety. There's a lot of talk about
- 5:22that. Now, that's not going to happen
- 5:24and you can really see that it's not going to happen.
- 5:28But at some point people will think they're going to have
- 5:30peace and safety, but they won't until Jesus returns.
- 5:33So then again, Jeremiah says it again in chapter 33, verse 15.
- 5:38In those days, at that time, I will make a righteous branch
- 5:41sprout from David's line. He will do what is just and
- 5:45right in the land. So both Isaiah and Jeremiah got
- 5:50the same word. Now God uses 2 witnesses to
- 5:52establish truth. And then so anyway, this is what
- 5:57says in those days, Judah will be saved in Jerusalem, will live
- 6:01in safety. This is the name by which it
- 6:03will be called the Lord our righteous Savior.
- 6:07For this is what the Lord says. David will never fail to have a
- 6:10man to sit on the throne of Israel, nor will the Levitical
- 6:13priest ever fail to have a man stand before me continually to
- 6:18offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to present
- 6:21sacrifices. So then we get to Genesis
- 6:29chapter 49 and it talks about this scepter will not depart
- 6:35from Judah. Jesus is from the tribe of
- 6:38Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet.
- 6:42So Jesus is going to reign until until he to whom it belongs
- 6:50shall come, and the obedience of the nations shall be his.
- 6:54So when Jesus returns, everything will be turned over
- 6:57to him and he will be the ruler. And then these things, he will
- 7:02tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch.
- 7:07He will wash his garments and wine his robes in the blood of
- 7:11grapes. His eyes will be darker than
- 7:13wine, his teeth whiter than milk.
- 7:17There's a lot of things in here. So it's interesting because
- 7:20Jesus when he was just before his crucifixion, he rode into
- 7:25the city of Jerusalem writing a colt, a donkey.
- 7:29And so it this references, this is back in Genesis, the first
- 7:33book of the Bible. And then it also says he will
- 7:35wash his garments and wine this and I did not reference this,
- 7:40but he said it was another part of Scripture.
- 7:43Where where are you coming from, Lord?
- 7:45And he says he was in Basra and his clothes are stained, you
- 7:51know, have blood stains or Crimson blood on them.
- 7:53And he was fighting a battle against there was no one with
- 7:57him. And so that talks about he will
- 8:01wash his garments in wine. There's the treading of the wine
- 8:04press that is also in the Book of Revelation, his robes in the
- 8:08blood of grapes. So that is the final wrath.
- 8:12So you know, it says I've heard people say that God tells us the
- 8:16end from the beginning. Well, he certainly does because
- 8:19right now he's talking about Jesus and his eyes will be
- 8:25darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk.
- 8:28So it's like a darker color, a red color.
- 8:30And I looked it up in the in the Bible and it says like this is
- 8:35in a good sense, not like inebriation or anything like
- 8:38that. But then when you look into the
- 8:40description of Jesus in Revelation, his eyes are like
- 8:44fiery red because when he comes back, it's for wrath.
- 8:49And of course, this is what it's talking about right now.
- 8:51Like he come first. He comes and he's got the donkey
- 8:54tied to the vine that he uses, and then he will wash his
- 9:00garments and wine. So this is the the wrath of God
- 9:04that comes. And then it talks about his eyes
- 9:06being darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk.
- 9:09So I will read those other parts in Revelation that tie into this
- 9:13Scripture so that you can identify that this is Jesus.
- 9:17So in Revelation chapter 2, verse 18, to the Angel of the
- 9:21church in Thyatira write these are the words of the Son of God.
- 9:27So this is who the Son of God said, whose eyes are like
- 9:32blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze.
- 9:38So there we get those, those red eyes that were being talked
- 9:41about in the book of Genesis, and then it continues on with a
- 9:46different message there to the church, but it's from the Son of
- 9:49God. And so that's Jesus.
- 9:51Then in Revelation 1915, this talks about when Jesus returns
- 9:57at his second coming, coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword
- 10:03with which to strike down the nations.
- 10:06He will rule them with an iron scepter.
- 10:10He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God
- 10:14Almighty. See how much that ties back to
- 10:17Genesis about, you know, the the scepter not departing from
- 10:23Judah. He treads the wine Press of the
- 10:26fury of the wrath of God. Just like in Genesis it said
- 10:30that he will wash his garments and wine his robes in the blood
- 10:35of grapes. So further, in Revelation, it
- 10:38talks about the treading of the wine press and I did that, put
- 10:43that in here, but let me see if I can find that one too.
- 10:47And that might help too tread wine press.
- 10:53Let's see if I can find that quickly.
- 11:01No, that's it. Well OK, so this is actually
- 11:03that other verse that I was. Well, I don't know if this is
- 11:06what I was talking about, but here's another one.
- 11:08This is from Isaiah chapter 63, verse three.
- 11:11I have trodden the winepress alone, and of the people there
- 11:16was none with me. For I will tread them in mine
- 11:20anger and trample them in my fury, and their blood shall be
- 11:24sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
- 11:30So that is, yeah, this is the part that I was talking about.
- 11:34Who is this that cometh from Edom?
- 11:37That's I guess the Jordan area with dyed garments from Basra.
- 11:42This that is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the
- 11:46greatness of his strength. I that speak in righteousness
- 11:50mighty to save we're out this is in the King James version we're
- 11:55out the red in thine apparel and the garments like him that
- 12:00treadeth in the wine fat. So it's you know it's treading
- 12:03the wine press again in revelation.
- 12:06I wanted to find that one and I didn't have it called up ahead
- 12:11of time. So I can't.
- 12:14There's too many things to remember.
- 12:17I'm I'm just learning all of this since like 2019.
- 12:21So I don't remember exactly where these things are located,
- 12:26but I'll get to it. I know it's in the Book of
- 12:30Revelation and it's I'm getting close to it, I think.
- 12:37And sorry for the delay here. Oh shoot, I passed it up so I
- 12:47don't. I probably would do better if I
- 12:52went to my hard copy Bible instead of the digital one on
- 12:56this one because I should find it because I know where it is
- 13:07when I look through this. OK, here it is.
- 13:12It's in Revelation chapter 14 and it's harvesting the earth
- 13:16and trampling the winepress. I looked, and there before me
- 13:20was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like the Son
- 13:26of Man, with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in
- 13:33his hand. Then another Angel came out of
- 13:36the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on
- 13:40the cloud. Take your simple sickle and
- 13:43reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the
- 13:48earth is ripe. So he who was seated on the
- 13:51cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was
- 13:54harvested. Another Angel came out from the
- 13:58temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.
- 14:01Still another Angel who had charge of the fire came from the
- 14:05altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle.
- 14:10Take your shark sharp sickle and gather the cluster of grapes
- 14:14from the earth's vine, because it's grapes are ripe.
- 14:18The Angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes
- 14:23and threw them into the great wine Press of God's wrath.
- 14:28They were trampled in the wine press outside the city and blood
- 14:33flowed out of the press rising as high as the horse's bridles
- 14:38for a distance of 16, 100 stadia.
- 14:42And it says that is about 180 miles or about 300 kilometers.
- 14:48That's pretty massive, the destruction and bloodshed that
- 14:52will occur at this point as the wrath of God.
- 14:56Now, I mean, you can pretty well understand why people who are
- 14:58not in a relationship with God, who are enemies are at war with
- 15:03God, why they are going to fear when they actually see the Son
- 15:07of Man coming on the clouds in the sky.
- 15:10The people who are prepared will rejoice because they know that
- 15:14they will be brought up to him and protected.
- 15:17But that's when God's wrath occurs.
- 15:19For those who don't who haven't submitted to God, who haven't
- 15:23accepted him as King, who haven't, who wouldn't call him
- 15:27Lord, who wouldn't be obedient to him, then there's this time
- 15:31of wrath that happens. So again, this is all the all
- 15:36the things that are talked about.
- 15:39This very first sentence in Chapter 11 talks about Jesus.
- 15:45And I think that probably should should prove my point there
- 15:51about all these verses, how they all tie together and how they
- 15:55explain Jesus. So then it says the Spirit of
- 15:59the Lord will rest on him. Well, we have a second witness
- 16:03for that too. We have Luke, who is a doctor at
- 16:06the time that wrote one of the Gospels.
- 16:09And so in Luke chapter 3 verse 22 he writes and the Holy Spirit
- 16:16descended on him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came
- 16:24from heaven in quotation. You are my son whom I love with
- 16:30you. I am well pleased.
- 16:33So here is where we actually see all three, the three in one God
- 16:40head all present at one time. We see Jesus.
- 16:45This is during Jesus's baptism. You know, if I go up a little
- 16:47bit further and it's, it was the baptism when all the people were
- 16:50being baptized, Jesus was baptized too.
- 16:54As he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit
- 16:58descended on him in bodily form like a dove and a voice came
- 17:01from heaven. You are my Son whom I love with
- 17:05you. I am well pleased.
- 17:07Now this is like repeated. Thankfully this blue letter
- 17:12Bible is such a great resource and that's what I'm reading
- 17:14from. But there are multiple
- 17:17references of the same thing in Genesis chapter 5 verse 31 it
- 17:23talks about it. It references this and then in
- 17:31Chapter 11 it also talks about it in Ruth Chapter 4, First
- 17:37Chronicles and First Chronicles Chapter 34 and First Chronicles
- 17:45Chapter 2 and Matthew chapter 1 verses 2 through 16.
- 17:52So these are all just the baptism and genealogy of Jesus.
- 17:56So and then the other gospels do talk about this as well about
- 18:01Jesus being baptized and the Holy Spirit descending on him
- 18:04and the voice from heaven. So there are multiple witnesses.
- 18:07So Matthew writes about it in chapter 3 verses 13 through 17.
- 18:11Mark writes about it in chapter 1, verses 9 through 11, and John
- 18:16also writes about it it in chapter 1, verses 29 through 34.
- 18:21So there again, God has multiple witnesses.
- 18:24Isaiah first spoke about it. The Spirit of the Lord will rest
- 18:27on him. And then all the gospels say
- 18:32this. So they all have different
- 18:33people and people witness this because there's a gathering
- 18:37here. There's multiple people who saw
- 18:39Jesus get baptized. So there were multiple
- 18:42witnesses. It's not just a made-up story
- 18:44and it's has survived thousands of years when it's since it's
- 18:47been written. So this is something that we
- 18:51can, you know, this will establish truth for us.
- 18:55I mean, just kind of use logical critical thinking skills to
- 18:59figure this out that yes, this is true.
- 19:03So the spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the spirit of
- 19:08counsel and of might, the spirit of knowledge and fear of the
- 19:13Lord, and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
- 19:18So this is all talking about this branch, talking about
- 19:21Jesus. He will not judge by what he
- 19:23sees with his eyes or decide by what he hears with his ears, but
- 19:29with righteousness he will judge the needy with justice.
- 19:35He will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
- 19:39So again, if you look up righteousness and judgment or
- 19:43justice, not judgment, righteousness and justice, those
- 19:48are the qualities that God wants us to have on earth.
- 19:52And it also is representative of God as well that he's righteous
- 19:56and he's just. So he does everything that's
- 19:58right. He's perfect in that way.
- 20:01And he also serves with justice. So we anything that happens in
- 20:06this world, we can if if God is behind it, there is justice He
- 20:12can use things to. People to to perform the justice
- 20:23here and there's a lot of things that we don't understand and I'm
- 20:29not going to even try to explain it because if I were able to
- 20:33explain it, I would have to be God.
- 20:35So a lot of things we're not going to be able to explain
- 20:38until we can ask God himself because anything other than that
- 20:41would be speculation. But we just always have to
- 20:43remember that God is righteous and what he does is just.
- 20:49So he will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, with the
- 20:54breath of his lips, He will slay the wicked.
- 20:58So Revelation 19 verse 11, it talks about I saw heaven
- 21:05standing open and there before me was a White Horse whose
- 21:09writer is called faithful and true with justice.
- 21:13He wages wars. Now his eyes are like blazing
- 21:17fire. OK, that was we were just
- 21:19talking about that. And on his head are many crowns.
- 21:23He has a name written on him that no one knows but he
- 21:27himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped
- 21:31in blood, and his name is the word of God.
- 21:36The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white
- 21:39horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
- 21:42Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike
- 21:47down the nation's. He will rule them with an iron
- 21:51scepter. He treads the winepress of the
- 21:53fury of the wrath of God Almighty on his robe and on his
- 21:58thigh. He hasn't this name written,
- 22:01King of Kings and Lord of Lords. So this is a description once
- 22:07again of Jesus and his exactly what Isaiah says.
- 22:15He will strike down the earth with the rod of his mouth.
- 22:17So again, John saw this in a vision when he was on the island
- 22:21of Patmos, and he wrote that down in the Book of Revelation.
- 22:25So righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash
- 22:30around his waist. So in Revelation chapter one,
- 22:37verse 13, it says this is when John first saw Jesus in the
- 22:41vision and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man.
- 22:45And that's what Jesus was called very often, the son of man
- 22:49dressed in a robe, reaching down to his feet with a golden sash
- 22:54around his chest. And later on it says like so he
- 23:01describes himself in verse 17. When I saw him, I fell at my
- 23:05feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on
- 23:07me and said, do not be afraid. I am the 1st and the last.
- 23:10I am the living one. I was dead.
- 23:13So this is after his resurrection.
- 23:15And now look, I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of
- 23:21death and Hades right. Therefore, what you have seen,
- 23:24what is now and what will take place later.
- 23:28And so this is like his vision, but he, you know, throughout
- 23:31this, it tucks and then the end of Revelation, the last book,
- 23:35you know, it tells like I'm the alpha and the Omega, the
- 23:37beginning and the end. This is Jesus, this is he's been
- 23:41in existence, He's eternal. So he's the Son of God.
- 23:47Now here, this is a part that after it talks about, he will
- 23:50strike down the earth and with the breath of his lips he will
- 23:52slay the wicked. Righteousness will be his belt
- 23:54and faithfulness to sash around his waist.
- 23:57Now this next part is really cool.
- 23:59Like I'm looking forward to this because this is going to be an
- 24:01awesome time. The wolf will lie, will live
- 24:05with the lamb. The leopard will lie down with
- 24:09the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together, and a
- 24:14little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear,
- 24:20their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat
- 24:23straw like an ox. The infant will play near the
- 24:28cobras den, and the young child will put his hand into the
- 24:32viper's nest. They will neither harm nor
- 24:35destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled
- 24:41with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
- 24:48So this is going to be this amazing time when Jesus returns,
- 24:52after he does the wrath of God and pronounces judgment on
- 24:57people. There will be this time of peace
- 25:00and safety and tranquility. And this just sounds like an
- 25:03awesome time where animals aren't going to be predators
- 25:06anymore. They're going to lie in peace
- 25:08with Len and other little kids can play with these Vipers and
- 25:12not be harmed. It's going to be this wonderful
- 25:15time. Part of the reason why it's
- 25:17going to be wonderful is because Satan is bound for 1000 years.
- 25:21So Satan is not allowed to intervene during this time for
- 25:27this thousand year period that Christ rules on earth.
- 25:30It's kind of a restoration period.
- 25:31We read earlier in the book of Isaiah that this will be a time
- 25:35for the the Jesus to teach his ways to the people.
- 25:39And it'll be a time of peace and it's going to be a phenomenal
- 25:44time. There's going to be mortal and
- 25:45immortal people on the earth, on this earth at the same time,
- 25:49which is going to be really wild.
- 25:52OK, continuing on in Scripture, in that day, the root of Jesse
- 25:55will stand again. That's Jesus as a banner for the
- 26:00peoples. The nations will rally to him
- 26:02and his resting place will be glorious.
- 26:06In that day, the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to
- 26:12reclaim the surviving remnant of his people.
- 26:17Now wait till you hear from where these people are.
- 26:20So he in that day, he's going to reach out to reclaim the
- 26:25surviving. So there are survivors from the
- 26:28wrath and who knows, you know, why maybe maybe they repented.
- 26:33It says a lot of people don't, but maybe it's just God's mercy,
- 26:36just like we were. We're all sinners and God just
- 26:40does what he wants to do. And he's very compassionate,
- 26:43very merciful, and he, he just loves.
- 26:47So this is there's going to be a surviving remnant of people from
- 26:52Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Kush, from
- 26:58Elam, from Babylonia, from Hameth and from the islands of
- 27:02the Mediterranean. So there's, there's going to be
- 27:08quite a number of people, a surviving remnant.
- 27:11I don't know, maybe that's the 144,000 from all of these
- 27:15different places. So he will raise a banner for
- 27:20the nations and gather the Exiles of Israel.
- 27:25He will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four
- 27:29corners of the earth. Ephraim's jealousy will vanish
- 27:34and Judah's enemies will be destroyed.
- 27:38Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward
- 27:44Ephraim. They will swoop down on the
- 27:47slopes of Philistia to the West. Together they will plunder the
- 27:52people to the east. They will subdue Edom and Moab,
- 27:57and the Ammonites will be subject to them.
- 28:00The Lord will dry up the Gulf of the Egyptian Sea or the Red Sea
- 28:06with a scorching wind. He will sweep his hand over the
- 28:11Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven
- 28:16streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals.
- 28:21I know the Euphrates River, I've heard, you know it floods
- 28:24sometimes but and this time it's going to be broken up into 7
- 28:27streams and people can cross it and cross over it in sandals.
- 28:32There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that is
- 28:36left from Assyria, northern Iraq or SE Turkey.
- 28:41And there was for Israel as there was from Israel when they
- 28:45came up from Egypt. So just like the Exodus, he's
- 28:49going to have that same thing happen to bring his people from
- 28:52northern Iraq or SE Syria that is talked about.
- 28:56So I will read over the questions and answers for the
- 28:59Chapter 11, and that will be all that we have for this one.
- 29:04So what does the stump of Jesse refer to?
- 29:06It's a picture of a family tree that had been chopped down.
- 29:09The Assyrians all but destroyed Judah, but it was the
- 29:12Babylonians who would bring the nation to an end.
- 29:14In 586 BC, God had promised David, Jesse's son, that his
- 29:20descendants would rule forever. But when those descendants
- 29:23failed to meet the conditions of the promise, the tree was cut
- 29:27down. And I described it a little bit
- 29:30differently. I mean, it was cut down, but not
- 29:33forever because this is actually about Jesus.
- 29:36Furthermore, like, yes, that happened.
- 29:38The Assyrians, you know, conquered, but there is Jesus.
- 29:45I mean, this really, I mean, I think I showed how Jesus was
- 29:48really referred to in this first sentence.
- 29:50So why call Jesse's descendant a branch, Isaiah continued with a
- 29:56picture of a family tree from the stump of Jesse, a new branch
- 29:59would sprout the future Messiah, Jesus, the son of David.
- 30:03Since the Messiah would be a branch of Jesse's family tree,
- 30:07branch became a messianic title. Branch of the Lord also suggests
- 30:13the spiritual fruit produced by the Messiah.
- 30:17That's something else that we should remember is that when we
- 30:22believe, truly believe in Jesus, we repent of our sins, we
- 30:27recognize that we are sinful, we ask for forgiveness.
- 30:30And then in that asking of forgiveness, when we ask God for
- 30:34forgiveness, we also, it's within our heart like our desire
- 30:38is. I don't want to do that anymore.
- 30:41I want to stop it. I'm not going to be a hypocrite.
- 30:44I'm not going to say I'm a Christian and then not act like
- 30:461. So Jesus then gives his Holy
- 30:50Spirit to help people change. So it also like this says, also
- 30:55suggests the spiritual fruit produced by the Messiah.
- 30:58So we don't change on our own. We change when we submit to
- 31:02Christ and it is our will because God gives us free will
- 31:06to say God change me. I'm open to that.
- 31:10I accept, I allow you know, like I'm, I'm in agreement with you.
- 31:13I want you to change me and then God will change through the Holy
- 31:18Spirit. So when we are in Him, there's a
- 31:21spiritual fruit that comes about, and that fruit is
- 31:26referenced in Galatians chapter 5 called the Fruit of the
- 31:30Spirit. So when will justice full be
- 31:35fully realized? Isaiah anticipated a time when
- 31:38Christ will completely right all wrongs.
- 31:41While on earth, Christ began to establish justice by the things
- 31:45He did and taught. His written word continues to
- 31:47bring justice today wherever it is observed through justice.
- 31:52Though justice on earth has begun, the scales won't be
- 31:56completely balanced until Christ returns.
- 32:00How can wolves live with lambs? Perhaps this imagery points to
- 32:04Christ's ability to change human nature.
- 32:07Actually all of nature, right? Transforming our aggressiveness
- 32:11into harmony with others. But the fulfillment of this
- 32:14description is surely yet in the future, brought into existence
- 32:18by Christ's return. Some believe this scene pictures
- 32:23a time of universal peace during a future reign of Christ on the
- 32:28earth, and that references Revelation chapter 20 verses one
- 32:33through 6. What does that day refer to
- 32:38here? The day of the Lord is it?
- 32:41Is this second time yet to come? The first time God reclaimed a
- 32:46remnant of His people was when He rescued Israel from Egypt.
- 32:51Some think the second time was when God's people returned to
- 32:54Judah from Babylonian exile. Others believe the second time
- 32:58is still in the future when God's people will be regathered
- 33:02at Christ second coming. So again, it's this is
- 33:06supporting the study Bible supporting, this is the second
- 33:09coming of Jesus that's being talked about.
- 33:12What caused the feud between Ephraim and Judah following the
- 33:15rebellion that split Israel into Ephraim?
- 33:18Another name for the northern Kingdom of Israel.
- 33:20That was the 10 tribes, how they were separated from the 2 tribes
- 33:24of Judah and Benjamin. So Ephraim is I think that was
- 33:28like where their capital was or where their place of worship was
- 33:32set up. But it's another name for the
- 33:35northern Kingdom of Israel remained a rival of southern
- 33:38Kingdom of Judah. In Isaiah's day.
- 33:42This animosity led to war when Ahaz, king of Judah refused to
- 33:48join the alliance between Ephraim and Aram, which is Syria
- 33:53against Assyria, which is that northeast Turkey and then part
- 33:58of Iraq land territory. They're common enemy.
- 34:02So they all were enemies against this like Turkey and Iraq area.
- 34:09But so Syria and Israel they were.
- 34:14They formed an alliance and went against this Assyria person and
- 34:22group. Some think this prophecy of an
- 34:25end to the feud was fulfilled when the Jews returned from
- 34:29Assyrian and Babylonian captivity.
- 34:31Others look ahead to a future Jewish reconciliation when
- 34:35Christ returns. This is probably another one of
- 34:37those prophecies that has somewhat of a foreshadowing of
- 34:43effect. It has a partial fulfillment,
- 34:45but then an eventual later. Because there are things that
- 34:48are talked about in this chapter like wait, you know this,
- 34:50there's not peace like this. You know that you don't have
- 34:53lions laying down with lambs and things like that.
- 34:55So there's there's definitely a future moment for this.
- 35:01Did the Euphrates ever break into 7 streams?
- 35:04Isaiah was envisioning a new Exodus.
- 35:08During the first Exodus, the Lord dried up the gulf of the
- 35:13Egyptian Sea, the Red Sea. In the new Exodus, he will again
- 35:17use a strong wind, this time to break up the Euphrates River
- 35:23into 7 streams. Using both similarities and
- 35:28differences to the crossing of the Red Sea and the Jordan
- 35:31River, Isaiah symbolically portrayed God's provision for
- 35:35the return of His people. So yes, this is primarily about
- 35:39the second coming of Jesus in my opinion, and the study Bible
- 35:44references that as well. So anyway, hope you enjoyed that
- 35:47I got something from it and hope you subscribe and come back for
- 35:52chapter 12.
