- 0:01Speaker 1: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:04Speaker 1: Picture Association of America.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 0:41Speaker 3: We're not going.
- 0:45Speaker 4: To be opening for anybody until our lead singer gets
- 0:48Speaker 4: over his stage fright.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I don't have stage fright yet.
- 0:51Speaker 5: Yeah, then why'd you pass out on stage at Bing's
- 0:53Speaker 5: party before the first song?
- 0:54Speaker 2: That was one show, man.
- 0:56Speaker 6: Yeah, that was our only show and you dropped like
- 0:58Speaker 6: a dead deer on us.
- 1:03Speaker 4: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I am Brian.
- 1:06Speaker 7: I am Misty.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I'm Jay.
- 1:08Speaker 8: I'm Marlena.
- 1:10Speaker 7: Yay for us.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Alright supposedly uh Roger and Joni are off at a
- 1:14Speaker 4: wedding this week or so his phone call this morning
- 1:18Speaker 4: said oh that's what they said yeah I know they
- 1:21Speaker 4: said they were going to do that they may just
- 1:23Speaker 4: be you know skipping town or hiding they might be
- 1:26Speaker 4: underneath their couch right now I don't know their fort
- 1:29Speaker 4: they made a fort you never can tell with us
- 1:32Speaker 4: two he's in the middle of a nerf battle probably
- 1:35Speaker 4: that's actually a good possibility he's.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Been down he's calling reinforcements.
- 1:41Speaker 4: I can't be at the show this week.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I'm under a fire.
- 1:43Speaker 7: I'm pretty sure she could totally take him.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. We all know that.
- 1:46Speaker 9: Come on.
- 1:50Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I guess we can move on into this week's geek activities.
- 1:54Speaker 4: This week, the main movie I watched that we can discuss,
- 1:57Speaker 4: I guess, I did watch, and I will preface it
- 2:00Speaker 4: by saying I'm not going to go on and on
- 2:02Speaker 4: about what we probably normally would under this circumstance.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I watched The Runaways.
- 2:07Speaker 7: How was it?
- 2:09Speaker 4: And I'm not going to go on and on about
- 2:10Speaker 4: girl because we do every week. She's got a stupid face. Okay,
- 2:15Speaker 4: we had that comment last week and you weren't even here.
- 2:18Speaker 7: Are we talking about the same person?
- 2:20Speaker 4: Yes. I was like, okay, maybe we're safe this week.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Misty's not here. And like two seconds in, Joni goes,
- 2:25Speaker 4: I don't like that girl's face.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I was like, damn it. We can't go a week
- 2:29Speaker 2: without it.
- 2:29Speaker 7: I knew there was a reason I liked Joni.
- 2:32Speaker 4: So, yeah, I won't even go into her much more
- 2:35Speaker 4: than I will say, this is probably the most functional
- 2:37Speaker 4: she's ever been in a movie. Now, that's not saying much,
- 2:40Speaker 4: because then you realize, well, what's the normal thing she
- 2:42Speaker 4: does in all of her roles? She stands there, she
- 2:45Speaker 4: doesn't say a lot, she looks all broody, and so
- 2:49Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, well, she's playing Joan Jett, who doesn't
- 2:52Speaker 4: really say that much, always looks pissed, which you can
- 2:54Speaker 4: equate to brooding, and yeah, it sort of lends itself
- 2:57Speaker 4: to being Joan Jett, so... That and you slap the
- 3:00Speaker 4: hair on her because she has very signature hair, especially
- 3:03Speaker 4: 70s and 80s. So once you've got that, you know,
- 3:06Speaker 4: you put on some leather pants, you're kind of Joan J.
- 3:08Speaker 4: You don't really have to do a ton, so... Really,
- 3:11Speaker 4: I mean, they give the much showier role to Dakota Fanning,
- 3:14Speaker 4: and for good reason, because she does a hell of
- 3:16Speaker 4: a lot with it. She actually is impressive in it,
- 3:19Speaker 4: and she's kind of... I mean, her and their producer
- 3:23Speaker 4: is amazing. That guy is.
- 3:25Speaker 2: That's because Dakota Fanning's an actress.
- 3:26Speaker 4: She is, and she... I mean, that's the thing. She
- 3:29Speaker 4: totally owns that role. I mean, because the girl's got
- 3:31Speaker 4: a hell of a lot more drama going on, so,
- 3:33Speaker 4: I mean, Joan's just kind of, like, pissed off and
- 3:35Speaker 4: wants to be a rock star, and she turns out
- 3:37Speaker 4: being a rock star.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I mean, there's not as much.
- 3:39Speaker 4: going on in her situation. She's just, she's very disconnected.
- 3:43Speaker 4: And they, it's funny that she actually was signed on.
- 3:45Speaker 4: She's like, I think executive producer. And I think she had,
- 3:48Speaker 4: you know, story, you know, approval.
- 3:50Speaker 2: On a lot of this.
- 3:50Speaker 4: So she was actually the only one really connected to it.
- 3:53Speaker 7: I heard Joan Jett made Kristen Stewart cry at some
- 3:55Speaker 7: point during that movie.
- 3:57Speaker 2: That's pretty funny.
- 3:57Speaker 4: One more reason I like Joan Jett.
- 3:59Speaker 7: That could just be something I heard or made up
- 4:01Speaker 7: in my own head. But I don't know, that totally hurt.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Sounds good.
- 4:04Speaker 7: She didn't cry.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Doesn't seem too far fetched to me.
- 4:07Speaker 7: But Joey seems not ready to cry. She needs to
- 4:09Speaker 7: cheer the fuck up.
- 4:10Speaker 8: I mean, come on.
- 4:11Speaker 10: If you were Kristen Stewart and you were constantly torn
- 4:14Speaker 10: and your heart was constantly torn between Jacob and Edward,
- 4:18Speaker 10: wouldn't you want to be?
- 4:19Speaker 8: Wouldn't you be on the verge of tears always?
- 4:22Speaker 7: You have a downy face when you're constantly on the
- 4:24Speaker 7: verge of tears.
- 4:25Speaker 2: God, I fucking hate her.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Again, I've seen several of hers recently, and this is, again,
- 4:32Speaker 4: probably the most useful she's been. That's not saying a lot.
- 4:35Speaker 7: And Jacob's way hotter than Edward, by the way.
- 4:37Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 7: Oh, for sure.
- 4:38Speaker 11: Well, duh.
- 4:38Speaker 9: Duh.
- 4:39Speaker 4: But, yeah, I really ended up liking it. It doesn't
- 4:44Speaker 4: do much more than I expected, really. I mean, it
- 4:46Speaker 4: does just set out to tell the little story of
- 4:48Speaker 4: the forming of this group, and, I mean, they didn't
- 4:51Speaker 4: last a whole lot. And then they kind of skip
- 4:53Speaker 4: over the last couple years by the time— Cherie disappears
- 4:56Speaker 4: from it. They don't even cover the rest of the
- 4:58Speaker 4: time that Joan's still sort of running the band the
- 5:01Speaker 4: last couple of years. So it just kind of takes
- 5:03Speaker 4: that little start from when they start up. And I
- 5:07Speaker 4: think it's pretty well done for what it is. I
- 5:08Speaker 4: think visually it's impressive. The rest of the girls completely
- 5:12Speaker 4: disappear into the background. Again, I think we decided at
- 5:15Speaker 4: least one of them didn't sign off for it. They
- 5:18Speaker 4: kind of show the drummer a little bit. I'm still
- 5:22Speaker 4: just completely not sold with Scout.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 5:25Speaker 4: She's just not impressive and um she by the end
- 5:28Speaker 4: of it she just makes lita ford look like a
- 5:29Speaker 4: bitch i can picture lita ford which maybe that's all
- 5:33Speaker 4: true i don't know.
- 5:34Speaker 7: But she wasn't signed on for it though was she i.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Don't know her name's not attached to anything so i
- 5:39Speaker 4: don't know if you want anything to do with this
- 5:40Speaker 4: probably not but which maybe is why joan was like go.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Ahead act like a bitch is this gonna lead the
- 5:45Speaker 2: way for a gogos movie.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Probably because i'd watch a go-go's.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Movie i think they had some pretty uh some scandalous
- 5:53Speaker 4: times too.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Sex drugs and rock and roll for go-go's.
- 5:56Speaker 4: You wouldn't think that from the go-go's they seem pretty
- 5:58Speaker 4: clean cut but not the uh stories i've heard about
- 6:01Speaker 4: them not at all not at.
- 6:03Speaker 2: All when uh what's her name's is the dominatrix now
- 6:07Speaker 2: so which one jane uh i can't remember her name you.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Want the little pixie hair yeah the bass player yeah
- 6:12Speaker 4: the bass player she.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Seems she's the cutest she does.
- 6:15Speaker 8: So she's entertaining can you imagine her like yelling at.
- 6:18Speaker 4: You kind of like actually she seems like she'd be.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Into that.
- 6:30Speaker 4: You know you want it don't lie so yeah that
- 6:33Speaker 4: was pretty much it on that one it's i think
- 6:35Speaker 4: it's worth watching if you like that kind of stuff
- 6:37Speaker 4: again i i got past girls so um That's your
- 6:41Speaker 4: only main hurdle. Everybody else in it is actually pretty good.
- 6:44Speaker 4: The producer and decoder are the reason to watch it, really. Otherwise,
- 6:50Speaker 4: I kind of watched a couple other things, but they're
- 6:51Speaker 4: all sort of in preparation for the next upcoming show.
- 6:55Speaker 4: I won't go into them now. That's about all I've
- 6:57Speaker 4: done this week.
- 6:59Speaker 7: Should we start off with the ones we watched together
- 7:01Speaker 7: and then work our way through what we did individually?
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah, sure.
- 7:03Speaker 7: All right, we watched Pandora on.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Which we just mentioned last week.
- 7:08Speaker 7: It was good. I liked it. I liked all the
- 7:10Speaker 7: movies that it ripped off.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I did, too. I thought it was excellent.
- 7:14Speaker 7: It seemed like it was a mass of every other movie.
- 7:17Speaker 7: It had Aliens. It had The Descent.
- 7:19Speaker 12: It had.
- 7:20Speaker 7: What else was in there?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Geez, a little bit of Event Horizon. Yeah.
- 7:24Speaker 9: Oh, man.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Pretty much any space movie, really. Anything that's in space
- 7:29Speaker 2: that's got creatures that are trying to kill people.
- 7:31Speaker 9: Spaceballs?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Eh, well, no, not like Spaceballs. Okay, well, not every Spaceballs.
- 7:36Speaker 4: But Spaceballs is ripping off other movies that it rips off. Yes.
- 7:39Speaker 4: So there you go.
- 7:40Speaker 7: What I like about this movie is pretty much that
- 7:42Speaker 7: it has space madness.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Yes.
- 7:44Speaker 7: We're making space madness throughout the entire thing. I was
- 7:49Speaker 7: ashamed of myself for recognizing an actor from the Twilight.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Movie in it. Oh, yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 7: Had Cam Gigandet or whatever the fuck his name is.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Gigandy, Gigandy.
- 7:58Speaker 7: James from the original Twilight movie, which I was ashamed
- 8:00Speaker 7: of myself for not only knowing, but God, I was just.
- 8:03Speaker 2: As well you should be.
- 8:04Speaker 8: When you were talking about.
- 8:06Speaker 10: When we were talking about that earlier, I realized for
- 8:08Speaker 10: the first time that I'm definitely Team Jacob.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I would hope so.
- 8:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 10: I mean, you know, the conversation we were having... previous
- 8:18Speaker 10: to the recording i mean sissy girly vampire he could
- 8:22Speaker 10: kill things for you yeah big tough werewolf i'm gonna i.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Don't even think he can kill deer he just looks
- 8:29Speaker 2: like he'd.
- 8:29Speaker 13: Cry but he looks better with a shirt off so
- 8:33Speaker 13: are you talking about jacob or jacob.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I always talk about edward oh edward what's.
- 8:38Speaker 8: He gonna do just stand there and like be sparkly
- 8:41Speaker 8: can i.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Pick somebody else that's how he blinds his prey isn't
- 8:44Speaker 4: there a bride of frankenstein i can hook up with.
- 8:48Speaker 10: Team why the fuck am i watching this movie oh
- 8:50Speaker 10: my god when will it be.
- 8:51Speaker 7: Over what else did we watch we watched Oh, watch Daybreaker.
- 8:55Speaker 7: That's a movie that pissed me off.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Eh, it was okay. It was better than John Carpenter's Vampires.
- 9:02Speaker 7: Yeah, but I slept through that.
- 9:04Speaker 2: In the theater.
- 9:05Speaker 8: I love that movie.
- 9:06Speaker 3: What the hell's up with Willem Dafoe's stupid facial hair?
- 9:09Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 9:10Speaker 7: And his stupid, cliche one-liners. We're supposed to be funny,
- 9:13Speaker 7: but we're just lame. I love me a good barbecue. Dude,
- 9:16Speaker 7: shut the fuck up.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, his one-liners were about as good as Stallone's one-liners
- 9:21Speaker 2: or Schwarzenegger's one-liners in their earlier career.
- 9:24Speaker 14: Wow.
- 9:24Speaker 2: They were just cheesy, lame. And you're like, really? He
- 9:28Speaker 2: said that? Who the fuck wrote this? Stick around. Stick around.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, stupid crap like that.
- 9:34Speaker 7: But this movie pissed me off because it seemed like
- 9:36Speaker 7: it had a pretty good concept. I like the idea
- 9:38Speaker 7: of vampires take over. There's not that many. People are
- 9:40Speaker 7: dying out. There's not that many people left. They can't...
- 9:43Speaker 7: I was upset with the fact that, I'm like, seriously,
- 9:45Speaker 7: you can't come up with a blood substitute? The Japanese
- 9:48Speaker 7: are fucking smart. They're going to fix this shit.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Yeah. How come the Japanese couldn't come up with it?
- 9:53Speaker 2: Leave it to the Americans. We've got to come up
- 9:54Speaker 2: with a blood substitute. There are other people that come
- 9:56Speaker 2: up with that shit.
- 9:57Speaker 7: I'll tell you, the Japanese still couldn't figure that out
- 9:58Speaker 7: before us.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Us.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Misty had also pointed out, she was like, why weren't
- 10:02Speaker 2: they smart enough to just start breeding humans?
- 10:04Speaker 3: I mean, we breed cows for meat.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Same thing with pigs, chickens, and everything else.
- 10:09Speaker 7: No, we're just going to gather them all up and
- 10:10Speaker 7: just drain them all out.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Duh. I'm stupid.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Does that mean vampires are just idiots?
- 10:15Speaker 2: I guess so.
- 10:16Speaker 4: That's what it means.
- 10:16Speaker 2: They can't come up with a good food solution.
- 10:19Speaker 7: Even I could fucking solve this problem.
- 10:20Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 2: But I thought it was interesting how, like, if they didn't,
- 10:23Speaker 2: if they went for a certain period of time without blood,
- 10:26Speaker 2: they started to turn more and more into these creatures.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Feral beasts.
- 10:31Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 2: A lot more, um, the bad wings, but for those
- 10:37Speaker 2: who haven't seen the movie, then don't listen to this part.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Uh, the, the, the solution.
- 10:44Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 10:45Speaker 3: The solution.
- 10:45Speaker 12: Okay.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah. It's, it, It's kind of okay. No, it's not.
- 10:49Speaker 9: It's stupid.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Okay, well.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Are they infected by words?
- 10:52Speaker 8: Yeah. No, no.
- 10:54Speaker 2: It's like, you know, it's that quick burst of sunlight
- 10:56Speaker 2: that chars them, and then they've got to cool down
- 10:58Speaker 2: real quick. And then they come back to life. And
- 11:00Speaker 2: then they come back to life. It kind of could
- 11:02Speaker 2: start your heart, you know, which, okay. You know, Willem
- 11:07Speaker 2: Dafoe stumbles upon this because he's out driving around, and
- 11:10Speaker 2: he wrecks and gets thrown through his windshield. He catches
- 11:13Speaker 2: on fire, then falls in the lake, and then all
- 11:15Speaker 2: of a sudden he's human again.
- 11:17Speaker 7: That's just the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Only surpassed
- 11:20Speaker 7: by the fact that they did it. All of a sudden,
- 11:22Speaker 7: out of nowhere, oh, now the new cure is if
- 11:24Speaker 7: you get.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Bit.
- 11:27Speaker 3: If a vampire bites somebody.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Who's already been treated.
- 11:30Speaker 7: Who's already got on fire. God, it was so stupid.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Then he becomes human, too. So it's like if you drink.
- 11:37Speaker 2: blood from a vampire that has now been made back
- 11:40Speaker 2: to human you become human too so basically they just
- 11:42Speaker 2: start feeding on each other and it's like oh okay
- 11:44Speaker 2: you know okay we're human now and then all the
- 11:47Speaker 2: vampires feed on them and then they become human it's
- 11:49Speaker 2: just It's fucking ridiculous.
- 11:51Speaker 4: With any of these kind of movies, it's like you
- 11:53Speaker 4: can enter in one new fact, you know, or something.
- 11:56Speaker 4: You can add something to the mythology. But by the
- 11:58Speaker 4: time you add two or three or four things, it's
- 12:01Speaker 4: like you're overcomplicating things.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Then at what point do they start to sparkle?
- 12:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Come on. You're just going to fucking rewrite the whole
- 12:07Speaker 2: goddamn thing or what?
- 12:08Speaker 4: And that's what she got. busted for because she had
- 12:11Speaker 4: no she she changed everything about the mythology and that's
- 12:14Speaker 4: you know these guys are not quite that bad but
- 12:16Speaker 4: i mean yeah it gets a point where it just
- 12:18Speaker 4: becomes too convoluted and people are like i don't even
- 12:21Speaker 4: care anymore about your crazy rules there's too many.
- 12:23Speaker 7: Of them and the fact that it just came out
- 12:24Speaker 7: of fucking nowhere it's like they just put all this
- 12:26Speaker 7: time with their oh if we catch them on fire
- 12:29Speaker 7: and then cool them down they'll be human again where
- 12:31Speaker 7: the fuck did this other solution come from yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I don't know they just What do you mean? Where
- 12:37Speaker 2: did it come from?
- 12:37Speaker 7: Because, I mean, they spent all this time focusing on, okay,
- 12:40Speaker 7: this is our cure.
- 12:41Speaker 2: No, because he realized that his brother, remember, bit Willem
- 12:45Speaker 2: Dafoe and then turned human, that last part. Then he
- 12:48Speaker 2: realized what the deal was.
- 12:49Speaker 4: So it's like an offshoot of the other version.
- 12:51Speaker 7: That's just fucked up.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Which is why he had the, whatever, the main guy
- 12:55Speaker 2: bite him, because he knew it would cause him to
- 12:57Speaker 2: turn human.
- 12:57Speaker 7: And Sam Neill is not a very effective scary vampire.
- 13:00Speaker 2: No, he's not.
- 13:02Speaker 7: Sam Neill.
- 13:03Speaker 2: He's known as a game show host, but not a
- 13:06Speaker 2: head vampire?
- 13:07Speaker 14: Really?
- 13:07Speaker 12: Come on.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I mean, not even a head vampire, but just, you know,
- 13:09Speaker 2: one that controls a lot of shit.
- 13:11Speaker 7: He's the head of the corporation that's, like, harvesting all
- 13:13Speaker 7: the human blood and everything.
- 13:14Speaker 3: He seems about as evil as Elmer Fudd.
- 13:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 10: I mean, Sam Neill as, like, a made-for-TV movie cowboy,
- 13:21Speaker 10: I could buy.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Or a dad, you know, with a quirky son. Especially
- 13:25Speaker 2: a dad, yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Who doles out stupid advice.
- 13:29Speaker 7: God, it pissed me off.
- 13:30Speaker 8: Wow.
- 13:30Speaker 7: And I fucking hate Ethan Hawke, too.
- 13:33Speaker 2: How can you hate Ethan Hawke?
- 13:35Speaker 7: I loved him in Reality Bites, but he just pissed
- 13:37Speaker 7: me off in everything else.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Yeah, he's in good stuff on occasion, but yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 7: He's working his way up to the ranks of Keanu Reeves,
- 13:45Speaker 7: I'm telling you. Wow.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Actually, I was thinking he's probably reverting backwards. He'll be
- 13:48Speaker 4: on SyFy before long.
- 13:49Speaker 10: Woo!
- 13:50Speaker 7: Hey, no, you can't do that because then Sean Patrick
- 13:52Speaker 7: Flanery won't have any work.
- 13:54Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. Once he gets totally kicked out
- 13:56Speaker 4: of the cycle, they'll be like, who else do we have?
- 13:59Speaker 7: I think that's the only things we watched together. On
- 14:01Speaker 7: my own, I watched two and a half seasons of
- 14:05Speaker 7: Big Wolf on campus in the past two weeks. So
- 14:07Speaker 7: Tommy Dawkins, he's the man for me.
- 14:10Speaker 4: And I'm hooking you up with your other copy of
- 14:12Speaker 4: Nightmare Room.
- 14:13Speaker 7: I'm telling you, I'm going to watch me some Tommy Dawkins. Actually,
- 14:15Speaker 7: it won't be Tommy Dawkins unless I'm missing it. I
- 14:17Speaker 7: love that show. I love that it rips off pretty
- 14:18Speaker 7: much everything ever, and I'm okay with it.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Yeah, we called out what was the one last week
- 14:24Speaker 4: that Supernatural did the same thing. Every other week was
- 14:28Speaker 4: just them ripping off a movie.
- 14:30Speaker 7: But I like that Big Wolf's even more blatant about
- 14:32Speaker 7: it because he will make reference to what movie they're
- 14:34Speaker 7: ripping off in that episode.
- 14:36Speaker 4: They're like, dude, this is just like in... What movie
- 14:39Speaker 4: did they rip off?
- 14:39Speaker 7: Oh, God, what haven't they ripped off?
- 14:42Speaker 2: I don't even remember.
- 14:43Speaker 7: I've watched so many, but they've all kind of blurred
- 14:45Speaker 7: together after a while. Third season, he gets better hair,
- 14:48Speaker 7: so I'm excited about that. Second season, he had that
- 14:50Speaker 7: stupid fucking George Clooney haircut, and I didn't dig that.
- 14:52Speaker 15: Caesar do.
- 14:53Speaker 7: Yeah, I didn't like that Caesar do.
- 14:54Speaker 2: It was all about the Clooney back in the day.
- 14:56Speaker 7: I've always hated the Clooney.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I'm guilty of having that haircut.
- 14:58Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 9: Oh, really?
- 14:59Speaker 2: Somebody gave me that haircut.
- 15:01Speaker 11: Oh, God.
- 15:01Speaker 7: I'm so glad I didn't know you then.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I saw it would have been funny. Yeah, I didn't
- 15:04Speaker 2: like it. I had it for like a month and
- 15:05Speaker 2: then grew my hair back out. I was like, oh,
- 15:06Speaker 2: my gosh.
- 15:07Speaker 7: The Caesar do and the little soul patch thing?
- 15:09Speaker 16: God.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Those were two different times.
- 15:12Speaker 4: You can't mix those two.
- 15:14Speaker 10: I've seen a picture of you where you have like,
- 15:15Speaker 10: long scraggly like bleached hair yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 3: That's my surfer days.
- 15:23Speaker 7: I watched bob ross the past two saturdays in a
- 15:25Speaker 7: row and he did not sign his paintings which has
- 15:27Speaker 7: kind of left me feeling unfulfilled in life so i
- 15:29Speaker 7: don't know what the hell's up with that shit's done
- 15:31Speaker 7: he ain't been signing his shit i don't like that
- 15:34Speaker 7: i would write him an angry letter but i'm pretty
- 15:35Speaker 7: sure he's.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Dead so So you think.
- 15:39Speaker 8: You're pretty sure?
- 15:40Speaker 2: So you think.
- 15:42Speaker 7: He was awesome. I love Bob Ross. If you're out
- 15:44Speaker 7: there and you can hear me, dude, sign your shit
- 15:46Speaker 7: from now on.
- 15:48Speaker 8: Sign your paintings in heaven.
- 15:49Speaker 4: He's sharing a house with Elvis right now.
- 15:53Speaker 7: He's painting Elvis.
- 15:54Speaker 2: On velvet.
- 15:56Speaker 8: Fuck yes. Why don't I own more velvet paintings?
- 15:59Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 16:01Speaker 7: You have Velvet Kenny.
- 16:01Speaker 2: He's awesome.
- 16:02Speaker 8: I used to have a lot of velvet paintings.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I only have two.
- 16:04Speaker 7: I have the Velvet Kenny Rogers and the Velvet Willie Nelson.
- 16:07Speaker 7: I want a Velvet Dolly Parton, so if anybody out
- 16:09Speaker 7: there can help me out.
- 16:10Speaker 8: Help a sister out, yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 4: She is, in fact, purchasing all these with the knowledge
- 16:16Speaker 4: that they're the most bad taste items you could ever
- 16:19Speaker 4: come up with.
- 16:19Speaker 7: They're awesome.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Yeah, but at least I'm making people aware that you're
- 16:24Speaker 4: self-aware of the ridiculousness.
- 16:27Speaker 9: Oh, I know how bad they are.
- 16:28Speaker 7: Okay.
- 16:28Speaker 8: My mom doesn't.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Grasp the concept. She doesn't get it.
- 16:32Speaker 7: She thinks they're classy.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 8: She does.
- 16:33Speaker 10: Did I ever tell you my mom bought, from Big Lots,
- 16:36Speaker 10: she bought this fountain. It was glass, and it had
- 16:38Speaker 10: LED lights that would light up, and it made smoke.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Oh, I got to see this.
- 16:43Speaker 8: Once she got drunk and knocked it over, and it broke,
- 16:45Speaker 8: and she started crying. She goes, I can't fucking have
- 16:47Speaker 8: anything nice. I was like, Mom, stop.
- 16:50Speaker 10: It was a $ 15 LED smoke-producing fountain from Big Lots.
- 16:55Speaker 8: I wouldn't exactly call that nice.
- 16:58Speaker 7: That's the nicest thing that she has, aside from the
- 17:00Speaker 7: concrete unicorn.
- 17:01Speaker 8: I mean, she got really offended. She got really offended.
- 17:03Speaker 8: I'm not even kidding. She was mad.
- 17:05Speaker 4: She's like.
- 17:06Speaker 9: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 17:06Speaker 10: I can't afford all the nice things that you have
- 17:09Speaker 10: or something stupid like that.
- 17:11Speaker 8: I don't know. Ridiculous.
- 17:14Speaker 7: That's all I have. What do you mean, all that
- 17:16Speaker 7: I watch? I watch two and a half seasons of
- 17:18Speaker 7: Big Wolf on Canvas.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I'm just thinking, is that all you watch?
- 17:21Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Another one of those 70-hour blocks of marathon viewing.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I watched it. Oh, great.
- 17:25Speaker 7: Because boyfriend's going to bed at 9 o'clock now, so
- 17:27Speaker 7: I have to stay. I'm using myself for several hours.
- 17:30Speaker 12: That's trouble.
- 17:30Speaker 4: I've been watching it for the past two weeks.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Well, it's been so hot that I have to go
- 17:35Speaker 2: into work early so that I can get off work
- 17:38Speaker 2: early before it starts getting really hot in there and
- 17:40Speaker 2: we all die.
- 17:40Speaker 7: Which is why we've not watched that much in the
- 17:42Speaker 7: past two weeks together as a collective.
- 17:44Speaker 2: So I've been getting off at 11 o'clock.
- 17:46Speaker 7: In the morning when I'm leaving for work.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so I've been coming home and I watched a
- 17:51Speaker 2: couple movies if I can't fall asleep.
- 17:53Speaker 7: Yeah, you've got a list.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not that big. Oh, pfft. It's not.
- 17:58Speaker 3: More of it's just junk.
- 18:00Speaker 2: But I started off watching Black Dynamite because I really
- 18:03Speaker 2: wanted to watch it, and I knew she didn't want
- 18:05Speaker 2: to watch it.
- 18:05Speaker 4: I've heard good things. Oh, my God.
- 18:06Speaker 2: It's fucking awesome. I feel like blaxploitation. And who doesn't?
- 18:12Speaker 11: Me.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you. But it's great. It's filmed like an old... Like,
- 18:17Speaker 2: there's times when you're watching it, you're going, am I
- 18:20Speaker 2: really watching an old movie, or am I watching an actual, like.
- 18:24Speaker 3: you know, up-to-date movie, but it's, it's filmed. It's so cheesy.
- 18:28Speaker 2: It's, it's awesome. It's got, uh, uh, Michael Jai, Jai White,
- 18:32Speaker 2: I think. Yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Uh, the same guy who plays Al Simmons in Spawn.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Guy's awesome. He's ripped to shreds, kicks the hell out
- 18:39Speaker 2: of everybody, kicks everybody's ass in that damn film, shoots people.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Makes love to like 200 women.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Wow.
- 18:48Speaker 4: How long is this movie? Uh, It's fucking long.
- 18:51Speaker 3: No, it's not boring. It's just shit's going on constantly.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Who else was in it?
- 18:57Speaker 3: You had told me that I forgot.
- 18:58Speaker 7: Was it Arsenio Hall?
- 18:59Speaker 3: Arsenio Hall was in it?
- 19:01Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 19:01Speaker 2: There's a lot of people that was in it that
- 19:02Speaker 2: I didn't realize was in it because I was just
- 19:05Speaker 2: sitting there eating lunch watching it. Or we're still alive. Yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 2: I was just going, wow, this is awesome. It's so
- 19:11Speaker 2: horribly awesome. But, yeah, I thought it was an awesome movie.
- 19:16Speaker 2: If you haven't seen it and you like that kind
- 19:18Speaker 2: of stuff, go out and watch it. get it because
- 19:20Speaker 2: it's funny uh the second movie i watched was the
- 19:23Speaker 2: red baron uh i have i've been bitching earlier in
- 19:28Speaker 2: earlier episodes about wanting a really good world war one
- 19:30Speaker 2: uh flying film yeah uh there you go yeah you
- 19:36Speaker 2: got fly boys which just kind of sucked i mean
- 19:39Speaker 2: it just sucked it's fucking stupid so if you like Flyboys, eh,
- 19:43Speaker 2: good for you. If you don't, then whatever. The Red
- 19:48Speaker 2: Baron's right up there with the Blue Max and a
- 19:51Speaker 2: couple other good World War I movies.
- 19:53Speaker 7: But more importantly, it's got Till Schweiger in it.
- 19:55Speaker 2: It's got Till Schweiger in it. But yeah, maybe it's
- 19:58Speaker 2: not 100% historically accurate.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I've heard people kind of bitch about.
- 20:02Speaker 9: It a little bit.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Most movies aren't.
- 20:03Speaker 2: But yeah, everybody's going to bitch about something.
- 20:06Speaker 3: But for me, visually, I thought it was fine.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Fucking awesome the planes were awesome uh the dog fight
- 20:12Speaker 2: scenes were great um it was just a great movie
- 20:16Speaker 2: i thought uh it was filmed in germany in english
- 20:19Speaker 2: which was kind of weird i think at the time
- 20:22Speaker 2: it was like one of the most expensive films made
- 20:25Speaker 2: in europe and it was also.
- 20:26Speaker 3: The lowest grossing film in europe because.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I think when it uh when they had come out
- 20:31Speaker 2: it came out like in the middle of the week
- 20:33Speaker 2: or something like that and nobody went to see it
- 20:35Speaker 2: along with the fact that many Germans are still kind
- 20:38Speaker 2: of leery about any kind of national heroes.
- 20:45Speaker 4: I think they officially try to pretend those years didn't happen.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but the thing they've got to understand is there
- 20:51Speaker 2: were a lot of Jewish pilots, Jewish-German pilots.
- 20:54Speaker 3: In World War I that fought. So, I mean, it's not, hey,
- 20:57Speaker 3: you don't have to.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Turn your back on everything.
- 20:59Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 20:59Speaker 4: It's a big gray area that nobody knows how to
- 21:01Speaker 4: deal with.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. But, I mean, if you like World
- 21:05Speaker 2: War I stuff, if you love The Red Baron, it's
- 21:08Speaker 2: pretty cool. I liked it. I definitely recommend it. The
- 21:12Speaker 2: other movie that I watched, too, got on a kick.
- 21:16Speaker 2: We saw the trailer for it. It looked ridiculous. And
- 21:18Speaker 2: I figured, well, I'll eat lunch and watch this movie.
- 21:20Speaker 2: And if I fall asleep, it's no big deal. But
- 21:22Speaker 2: if I don't, you know, it's pretty cool. I watched
- 21:25Speaker 2: Power Kids, which is a Thai movie. Kind of along
- 21:29Speaker 2: the lines of Three Ninjas, which I normally wouldn't watch.
- 21:33Speaker 2: But I figured, hell, if I fall asleep, it's no
- 21:35Speaker 2: big deal. But it follows the lives of these kids
- 21:39Speaker 2: whose parents have sent them to a Muay Thai camp
- 21:42Speaker 2: in Bangkok. One of the kids in there gets ill.
- 21:47Speaker 2: He has to have a heart transplant. So, yeah, so
- 21:52Speaker 2: the kids, yeah, fun for everyone. It's supposed to be
- 21:54Speaker 2: a kid's movie, which is really weird. So the heart
- 21:58Speaker 2: that the kid's going to get from this other hospital,
- 22:01Speaker 2: there's a diplomat, U.S. diplomat that's going in there to
- 22:05Speaker 2: get a routine checkup done.
- 22:07Speaker 3: The hospital gets taken over by terrorists.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I hate when that happens. So this heart, they have
- 22:12Speaker 2: this heart that's only got a four-hour shelf life that
- 22:15Speaker 2: needs to be brought to this other hospital to be
- 22:18Speaker 2: put in this little boy. Well, the kids decide they're
- 22:20Speaker 2: going to take matters into their own hands. They're going
- 22:21Speaker 2: to go get that damn heart for their friend.
- 22:23Speaker 7: All right.
- 22:24Speaker 3: So they go and literally.
- 22:25Speaker 7: It's... You can't even get water out of the refrigerator
- 22:28Speaker 7: by yourself.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and these kids are like, they're probably like anywhere
- 22:32Speaker 2: from range age like 10 to like maybe 14.
- 22:36Speaker 3: These kids fucking kick ass.
- 22:39Speaker 2: I think it's done by the same director and writers
- 22:41Speaker 2: who did The Protector. uh, and the guys who did
- 22:44Speaker 2: a lot of the movies with, uh, Tony Shaw. So
- 22:46Speaker 2: if you like the protector and unlock and stuff like that,
- 22:49Speaker 2: these kids, it's like almost the same moves, but with
- 22:52Speaker 2: little kids and there's like five of them attacking people,
- 22:55Speaker 2: like guys at one time, you know, you can come
- 22:57Speaker 2: flying out of nowhere. It's not true Muay Thai. So
- 23:01Speaker 2: don't go off thinking, Hey, I want to learn Muay Thai.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Cause it's not, it's just, it's, it's, it's stuff for
- 23:06Speaker 2: the camera, but still it's interesting. But yeah, for a
- 23:09Speaker 2: kid's movie, it's bloody.
- 23:12Speaker 10: Uh, Violent.
- 23:13Speaker 3: It's violent as hell. A lot of cursing in it.
- 23:17Speaker 2: And I don't think there's any way this movie could
- 23:19Speaker 2: be made in the United States because these.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Kids constantly get in trouble and their teacher beats the hell.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Out of them all the time.
- 23:25Speaker 7: Kids need these days.
- 23:26Speaker 2: They get caned.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I mean, he whips the crap out of them.
- 23:29Speaker 2: And even the ending scene, which I know I've heard
- 23:31Speaker 2: a lot of some people that have seen this have
- 23:32Speaker 2: been kind of questionable on the ending scene. They're like,
- 23:34Speaker 2: what the hell happened? It's like the little boy gets
- 23:37Speaker 2: his heart. And everything's happy and everything like that. But
- 23:40Speaker 2: then for some reason, he ends up getting everybody else
- 23:43Speaker 2: in trouble. So the master ends up whipping the little kid.
- 23:47Speaker 4: The heart transplant?
- 23:48Speaker 2: He's like, I'm going to do this for your own good.
- 23:51Speaker 2: And he just sits there and whips the little kid.
- 23:54Speaker 3: And it's like, aw, it's such a happy ending. The
- 23:57Speaker 3: kids are getting whipped.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Now I'm going to poke your incision too. Ow, quit it.
- 24:02Speaker 2: It's one of those, I guess, you know, In the U.S.
- 24:05Speaker 2: where you're not allowed to even lay a hand on
- 24:07Speaker 2: your kid, you know, and still some other countries and
- 24:10Speaker 2: stuff like that.
- 24:11Speaker 7: It's okay to beat the fuck out of them.
- 24:12Speaker 2: You can still beat the crap out of your kids.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I think that's what's wrong with this country is now
- 24:17Speaker 2: you can't lay a hand on your kid.
- 24:18Speaker 3: It used to be I got the crap.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Beat out of me when I was a kid.
- 24:20Speaker 7: Yeah, but you needed it.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I did. I was a bad kid. I really was.
- 24:24Speaker 2: If I wasn't getting into dad's tools or setting the
- 24:26Speaker 2: yard on fire or running into stuff or, you know, just, oh, geez.
- 24:33Speaker 2: I was just constantly... a pain in the ass.
- 24:35Speaker 7: I still are.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I still am.
- 24:39Speaker 7: That's why she has to beat you sometimes.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I do.
- 24:41Speaker 7: Somebody has to put him in his place.
- 24:43Speaker 11: She's not.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. Send help. You can't say anything. I
- 24:50Speaker 2: know I deserve it, you know. Run it at the mouth.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Run it at the mouth like I do sometimes.
- 24:56Speaker 4: You get in the kitchen and make me a sandwich.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I know it's for my own good.
- 25:01Speaker 7: You only hurt the ones you love.
- 25:03Speaker 2: You only beat the fuck out of the ones you love.
- 25:06Speaker 3: So, I mean, that's pretty much it for me.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I didn't do anything else. There's more, but she won't
- 25:11Speaker 2: let you talk about it.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Yeah, she won't.
- 25:14Speaker 2: You're done now.
- 25:17Speaker 7: Stop talking. What about you, Marlene?
- 25:20Speaker 10: Okay, well, I attempted to watch lots of movies, all
- 25:24Speaker 10: kinds of movies. I tried to watch Pandorum, fell asleep immediately.
- 25:28Speaker 10: I tried to watch Donnie Darko last night, I fell
- 25:30Speaker 10: asleep immediately.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Now you're on my way of conversion of watching film.
- 25:35Speaker 7: One thing about Pandorum, real quick, I'm sorry. I was
- 25:38Speaker 7: so excited because it had like this one clip that
- 25:40Speaker 7: was like 30 seconds, but it had Norman Reedus in
- 25:42Speaker 7: it for 30 seconds. And I knew it was him
- 25:44Speaker 7: because he said fuck like every five seconds. Norman Reedus,
- 25:48Speaker 7: you know, the other brother, the less attractive brother from
- 25:51Speaker 7: boondock saints.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:52Speaker 4: The formerly less attractive.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:54Speaker 7: I was like, it's gotta be that guy from boondock.
- 25:55Speaker 7: He's saying fucking awful lot. I recognize that fuck anywhere.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 25:59Speaker 11: Sorry.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I recognize that fuck anywhere.
- 26:02Speaker 12: Nice.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:05Speaker 8: Um, uh, Misty, you're going to hate me for this,
- 26:09Speaker 8: but I can't help it. It's funny. It's where that's
- 26:12Speaker 8: what she said came from. Every night I kind of
- 26:15Speaker 8: like fall asleep to episodes of The Office.
- 26:17Speaker 7: Oh, I hate that show.
- 26:18Speaker 10: I hate Steve Carell. So funny, but I don't really
- 26:23Speaker 10: get to watch the whole episode. I just kind of
- 26:26Speaker 10: turn it on Netflix and fall asleep. It's good for them.
- 26:32Speaker 10: I did watch 500 Days of Summer, which, oh my God,
- 26:36Speaker 10: that movie is so cute. But, spoiler alert, the ending
- 26:39Speaker 10: will make you want to die.
- 26:41Speaker 4: That's why I've avoided it so far. Because I like
- 26:43Speaker 4: both parties involved, but I am not in the mood
- 26:45Speaker 4: to watch that.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 26:47Speaker 10: It is so funny, though. It's like the cutest, most
- 26:50Speaker 10: adorable and funny movie ever. Because Zooey Deschanel is just like.
- 26:55Speaker 8: You just want to... choke her she's so.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Cute really i don't think i've ever wanted to choke
- 27:01Speaker 2: anybody because they've been so cute.
- 27:03Speaker 4: I have it happens a lot wow we were trying
- 27:06Speaker 4: to win her over last week to be on the
- 27:08Speaker 4: show i don't know if that's gonna do you're just so.
- 27:12Speaker 10: Yeah and i mean in addition to watching 500 days
- 27:16Speaker 10: of summer i've been watching her music like the she
- 27:18Speaker 10: and him music videos on youtube she's cute At first,
- 27:21Speaker 10: in the Cotton commercial, I thought her voice was just weird.
- 27:24Speaker 8: But you get used to it. You're like, oh, I
- 27:27Speaker 8: like this.
- 27:27Speaker 4: She's one of the few people that's been able to
- 27:29Speaker 4: cross over. And, yeah. And usually everybody has a problem
- 27:32Speaker 4: with one or the other or both going on.
- 27:35Speaker 10: But on a related note, I was like, you know,
- 27:38Speaker 10: I never really listened or watched any videos of Scarlett
- 27:41Speaker 10: Johansson doing Tom Waits.
- 27:43Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 27:45Speaker 8: I wish I had. That was fucking awful. I don't
- 27:47Speaker 8: know who was like, Scarlett, you're so beautiful. You're such
- 27:49Speaker 8: a talented actress. He must obviously be a fantastic singer.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Of course.
- 27:54Speaker 10: Whoever suggested that to her, they were fucking wrong. I mean, yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 10: Tom Waits, not a lot of girls can sing Tom
- 28:01Speaker 10: Waits songs.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Not a lot of guys can sing Tom Waits songs.
- 28:03Speaker 8: Not a lot of people can do Tom Waits songs.
- 28:05Speaker 7: Nobody other than Tom Waits can do Tom Waits songs.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Far as I'm concerned.
- 28:07Speaker 10: I mean, he's pretty, like, raspy and gruff and stuff
- 28:09Speaker 10: like that, but, like.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Is she trying to do the raspy voice, too?
- 28:12Speaker 8: Sort of.
- 28:13Speaker 4: She kind of just has that anyway.
- 28:14Speaker 8: It's just like.
- 28:16Speaker 10: It's like... The worst thing I've ever heard in my life.
- 28:21Speaker 10: I would rather have my MP3 player filled up with
- 28:25Speaker 10: that ice cream song truck, and that'd be the only
- 28:28Speaker 10: thing I'd listen to for the rest of my life.
- 28:29Speaker 7: But that song was awesome.
- 28:30Speaker 4: It's catchy.
- 28:31Speaker 17: Damn it.
- 28:33Speaker 4: I totally had her booked for another show. There goes
- 28:36Speaker 4: our Scarlett Johansson gig.
- 28:37Speaker 7: It was pretty terrible.
- 28:39Speaker 10: But I've found myself quoting 500 Days of Summer already,
- 28:45Speaker 10: which is a bad sign.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Yeah, because that means everyone around you is going to
- 28:49Speaker 4: be sick of it.
- 28:50Speaker 10: I know.
- 28:51Speaker 2: They're having no clue what you're talking about.
- 28:53Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Or a little of both.
- 28:55Speaker 4: I hate that movie I've never seen.
- 28:57Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 28:58Speaker 10: I found myself saying to someone yesterday, Summer, Sid stabbed
- 29:03Speaker 10: Nancy seven times with a kitchen knife.
- 29:06Speaker 8: I know we fight, but I hardly think I'm Sid Vicious.
- 29:09Speaker 8: And they were just like, what the fuck? What is
- 29:12Speaker 8: wrong with you? And I'm just like, oh.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Many, many things.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Have you ever seen the short they did? The, like,
- 29:18Speaker 4: short film where they were doing, like, Sid and Nancy?
- 29:21Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure it was those two.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I think it was.
- 29:25Speaker 4: They were doing those roles, but they reversed the roles.
- 29:29Speaker 7: So she was.
- 29:30Speaker 8: That's what she said. She said, no, I'm Sid.
- 29:32Speaker 4: Yeah. I'm pretty sure they actually shot a short film, like,
- 29:36Speaker 4: just one little scene out of... Basically out of the
- 29:38Speaker 4: movie that it's... them doing this whole scene but they
- 29:41Speaker 4: reverse the roles and they're fucking good like she is
- 29:44Speaker 4: pretty good but actually i was more impressed with him
- 29:47Speaker 4: being nancy it was fucking impressive one more reason i
- 29:51Speaker 4: was like dude they just need to go ahead i
- 29:52Speaker 4: mean they're already putting him in every damn movie now
- 29:54Speaker 4: but i'm like you know what He's a good actor.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Fuck it. I don't care.
- 29:57Speaker 10: I mean, that movie had just like He's an architect
- 30:01Speaker 10: or he's going to be an architect or something like that.
- 30:04Speaker 10: And then they go to Ikea and it's just like, oh.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Architecture, Ikea. Who is this actor we were talking about?
- 30:10Speaker 8: Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I've been in love with him since I
- 30:13Speaker 8: was like 11. Ah, okay.
- 30:14Speaker 2: He's a kid.
- 30:16Speaker 7: From Third Rock.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Yeah, he'll forever be the kid from Third Rock and
- 30:19Speaker 4: the Sun. But now he's actually going to be, he's
- 30:21Speaker 4: like the go-to guy for indie film in the last
- 30:24Speaker 4: like five years.
- 30:25Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 30:26Speaker 8: He was in Brick.
- 30:27Speaker 2: He was really funny in Brick. He's in, like, every
- 30:29Speaker 2: indie movie they made.
- 30:30Speaker 9: Yeah, awesome.
- 30:31Speaker 8: And Matthew Gray Goobler was in it. You know, like the.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Your other obsession?
- 30:35Speaker 10: Yeah, the skinny men that I, like, love in, like,
- 30:39Speaker 10: pretend land, but in real life, I'm just like, ugh,
- 30:41Speaker 10: get away from me.
- 30:44Speaker 4: I was just thinking, this doesn't match your... I know,
- 30:46Speaker 4: it's weird.
- 30:47Speaker 10: I realize this now, because every time I, like, I'm
- 30:49Speaker 10: watching a movie, I'm like, aw, it's some, like, nerdy
- 30:52Speaker 10: Don Knotts guy.
- 30:54Speaker 8: And then in reality, I'm like, ugh. you have issues
- 30:58Speaker 8: i think this just means i'm perpetually doomed to need
- 31:05Speaker 8: two boyfriends.
- 31:05Speaker 4: For the rest of my life i guess if you
- 31:07Speaker 4: can set that up i mean there's certainly a market
- 31:11Speaker 4: out there for that sort of.
- 31:12Speaker 7: Lifestyle but well they don't have to know about.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Each other See, the thing is, sometimes they're okay with that.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Sometimes they want to be involved.
- 31:22Speaker 8: Ew, that's gross.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I'm going to pass. Oh, Lord. Anything else?
- 31:30Speaker 8: No.
- 31:31Speaker 2: All right.
- 31:32Speaker 4: I guess we will take a break and be back
- 31:34Speaker 4: with What's the Book?
- 31:35Speaker 11: What's the Book?
- 31:50Speaker 16: Put money in your pocket and your top hat on
- 31:54Speaker 16: your head And a hot meal on your table and
- 31:58Speaker 16: a blanket on your bed Well today is great, this
- 32:02Speaker 16: guy is tomorrow's tears We'll have to wait till yesterday's
- 32:07Speaker 16: here Well I'm going to New York City, I've been
- 32:13Speaker 16: cleaving on a train And if you want to stay
- 32:17Speaker 16: behind and wait till I get back again.
- 32:20Speaker 2: But today is a great disguise.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Tomorrow is too young.
- 32:25Speaker 8: We'll have to wait till yesterday is here.
- 32:28Speaker 11: If you.
- 32:31Speaker 8: Want to go where the rainbow is.
- 32:35Speaker 7: You'll have to say goodbye.
- 32:37Speaker 2: All our dreams.
- 32:41Speaker 11: Come true.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Let's all go to the lobby.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Let's all go to the lobby. Let's all go to.
- 32:52Speaker 7: The lobby to get ourselves a treat.
- 32:56Speaker 18: Machismo, the story of seven back Mexicans afraid of nothing
- 33:00Speaker 18: but the shame of fear, fighting for their honor, faced
- 33:03Speaker 18: with a wall of hate and death, struggling for their
- 33:05Speaker 18: lives against the bigotry of a town and the woman
- 33:08Speaker 18: who might betray them against the 40 savage Americans who
- 33:11Speaker 18: vowed to destroy them.
- 33:12Speaker 12: Machismo.
- 33:13Speaker 18: The guts to live like a man. Not since The
- 33:15Speaker 18: Wild Bunch have you seen this kind of adventure.
- 33:18Speaker 7: Don't miss it.
- 33:19Speaker 18: Machismo.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Rated R.
- 33:26Speaker 19: Choosing a family movie is tough. It seems like all
- 33:28Speaker 19: Hollywood can do is make mindless drivel that rots kids' brains.
- 33:32Speaker 19: Who wants to see a movie like.
- 33:33Speaker 20: What my dad watched when he was a kid. Those
- 33:36Speaker 20: films are so boring and the special effects are horrible.
- 33:39Speaker 20: The movies he grew up with are.
- 33:41Speaker 7: Sometimes a big surprise. I at times feel uncomfortable watching
- 33:44Speaker 7: movies I loved when I was younger with my own
- 33:47Speaker 7: kids because I forgot how much cursing, sex, and violence
- 33:50Speaker 7: they showed back then.
- 33:51Speaker 20: All we want to do is watch a fun movie
- 33:53Speaker 20: that we all like.
- 33:54Speaker 19: That's why we created Family Movie Night, a podcast where
- 33:58Speaker 19: we review movies from an adult perspective.
- 34:01Speaker 20: And from a kid's perspective.
- 34:02Speaker 19: So you can find movies for your whole family to enjoy.
- 34:05Speaker 20: We review new movies.
- 34:07Speaker 7: Old childhood favorites.
- 34:09Speaker 19: Cult and foreign films.
- 34:10Speaker 20: And Godzilla. So check out Family Movie Night on the
- 34:14Speaker 20: web at fmnpodcast.com. Or find us on iTunes.
- 34:17Speaker 10: Bye.
- 34:17Speaker 11: We are family.
- 34:18Speaker 9: We are family.
- 34:23Speaker 5: This is Roger Corman and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 34:28Speaker 9: Music Lay your head where my.
- 34:51Speaker 7: Heart used to.
- 34:53Speaker 16: Be Hold the earth above me Lay down and breathe God,
- 35:03Speaker 16: I swear that you love me Come closer, don't be
- 35:10Speaker 16: shy Stand beneath the rainy sky.
- 35:15Speaker 2: He's the one time for Halloween.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I just, Busted out some old 80s shit.
- 35:48Speaker 2: People were like, what the hell is wrong with that kid?
- 35:50Speaker 2: Because even then, 80s wasn't really big because it was
- 35:52Speaker 2: still like early 90s. So everybody was like, eh.
- 35:55Speaker 4: And then you're just wearing stuff that's out.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's out. That's not cool.
- 35:59Speaker 4: That's not retro yet.
- 35:59Speaker 7: I was wearing.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Jams and I had a bandana tied around my knee
- 36:03Speaker 2: and mismatched socks.
- 36:06Speaker 4: You were so cool.
- 36:07Speaker 7: I'm wearing my new Selena Gomez socks today.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Oh, my Lord.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Police synchronicity.
- 36:14Speaker 2: You can't go wrong with that.
- 36:15Speaker 8: Where did you get those?
- 36:18Speaker 2: Why don't I have a pair of them? I was mad.
- 36:21Speaker 2: They only had one. I didn't say I was going
- 36:23Speaker 2: to put them on my feet. Wow. You set me
- 36:28Speaker 2: up for that.
- 36:29Speaker 17: I mean, shit.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I don't know if it could be repeated.
- 36:33Speaker 7: I was too excited about my own sauce.
- 36:34Speaker 2: I don't think it needs to be repeated.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think you want anything to.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Do with that.
- 36:38Speaker 3: You don't want the visuals.
- 36:40Speaker 2: I didn't even finish the joke, but you don't need to.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Alrighty. Alright, we are back with What's the Buzz?
- 36:48Speaker 17: Tell me what's happening, what's the buzz?
- 36:53Speaker 9: Tell me what's happening, what's the buzz?
- 36:55Speaker 2: Tell me what's happening, what's the buzz?
- 37:03Speaker 7: That was us coming back all right yay what is
- 37:06Speaker 7: the buzz what is happening.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Uh well the main several as they they were listing
- 37:12Speaker 4: them off and i saw a grand theme through several
- 37:16Speaker 4: of them here so i decided to just lump them
- 37:17Speaker 4: into one big story because we're gonna have the same
- 37:20Speaker 4: complaint about all of them so okay yeah we'll start
- 37:24Speaker 4: with the the first one here is um Back in January,
- 37:27Speaker 4: there was a big auction to determine the future rights
- 37:29Speaker 4: to the popular Terminator franchise. And we now know the
- 37:33Speaker 4: first new movie to be covered in the new deal
- 37:35Speaker 4: following Terminator Salvation is Hanover House has entered the venture
- 37:39Speaker 4: to produce a 70 million 3D animated feature called Terminator 3000.
- 37:43Speaker 4: We've cartooned. Yeah, it's basically going to be a 3D
- 37:48Speaker 4: CGI animated Terminator movie.
- 37:50Speaker 7: It's going to be lame.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, and here's the part. I mean, you could
- 37:54Speaker 4: almost do a cool, once again, I don't like the
- 37:56Speaker 4: idea of a CGI animated. You could do a cool
- 37:58Speaker 4: animated Terminator movie, especially like set the whole thing in
- 38:02Speaker 4: that future world. That would be awesome. Something they probably
- 38:05Speaker 4: wouldn't bother to do a full length movie of anymore.
- 38:07Speaker 4: You know, a normal theatrical run. They could do a
- 38:10Speaker 4: cool straight to DVD animated movie. But yeah, this one
- 38:13Speaker 4: they're going to specifically try to keep it at a
- 38:16Speaker 4: PG level. That totally, like, takes all... You know, it
- 38:20Speaker 4: was built on an R-rated idea, so you.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Can't... Hey, this is about as good as Highlander, the cartoon.
- 38:25Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't back it off and try to make
- 38:28Speaker 4: it safe for kids again.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Yeah!
- 38:30Speaker 4: I don't know. That's just... and again, it's the, it's
- 38:34Speaker 4: the CGI part that really creeps me out because you
- 38:36Speaker 4: can do, okay, I'll give you, you could do the
- 38:38Speaker 4: exoskeleton and it would look kind of cool in CGI,
- 38:40Speaker 4: but everything else around it is going to look like crap.
- 38:43Speaker 2: So, yeah, well, it's probably because it's cheaper, easier.
- 38:45Speaker 7: Oh, it is.
- 38:46Speaker 2: And then you don't have to pay cartoonists.
- 38:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 38:49Speaker 2: It's a dying art.
- 38:50Speaker 7: Just like Christian belly yellow people.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:54Speaker 4: You can just bring him in. He'll do that anyway.
- 38:56Speaker 2: You're animating that all wrong.
- 38:58Speaker 4: And then he'll smack.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 39:00Speaker 4: So, yeah, that will just go right into, let's see,
- 39:03Speaker 4: Constantine Films, the production company responsible for the Resident Evil
- 39:06Speaker 4: franchise and Paul W.S. Anderson's upcoming 3D adaptation of The
- 39:10Speaker 4: Three Musketeers has announced plans to take over another classic franchise.
- 39:15Speaker 3: Three Musketeers in 3D? God, why didn't somebody tell me
- 39:19Speaker 3: about this?
- 39:19Speaker 4: I think we did, actually.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 39:22Speaker 11: Who cares?
- 39:24Speaker 2: Three Musketeers.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Oh, well, this is not much better, especially in this format.
- 39:29Speaker 4: They will produce a 3d CGI animated adventure version of Tarzan.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Tarzan doesn't work in CGI animation. I mean, the whole
- 39:39Speaker 4: thing is a very like real world. You need it
- 39:41Speaker 4: to be green landscapes and vines and like actual physical
- 39:46Speaker 4: rocks and trees.
- 39:47Speaker 2: What the hell?
- 39:48Speaker 4: It's all pointless if it's just animated.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Well, it's kind of like, you know, it's one of
- 39:51Speaker 3: those things, it's like, what kid gives a fuck about Tarzan?
- 39:53Speaker 2: Nobody. Like, maybe in the, like, you know, maybe in
- 39:56Speaker 2: the 30s and the 40s when you didn't have, like,
- 39:58Speaker 2: really super, super, superheroes that were mutated by, you know,
- 40:02Speaker 2: fucking x-rays and shit like that. You know, that would
- 40:06Speaker 2: have been cool. You had, like, Doc Savage.
- 40:08Speaker 3: You had Tarzan.
- 40:09Speaker 2: You had the Shadow. You had just, like, you know.
- 40:12Speaker 4: People that fell into that kind of, you know, action star.
- 40:15Speaker 2: They were action guys, but they weren't, like, you know, superhuman,
- 40:18Speaker 2: you know, shit like that. It's like, what kid cares
- 40:20Speaker 2: about Tarzan? None of them.
- 40:22Speaker 4: None.
- 40:23Speaker 3: And if they do, they're probably crazy.
- 40:24Speaker 2: But, really... Yeah, the same thing.
- 40:28Speaker 3: 3D animated Tarzan?
- 40:29Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Makes no sense.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Makes absolutely no sense.
- 40:31Speaker 4: We already had, you know, the biggest money-making company in
- 40:35Speaker 4: the world backed a version of Tarzan, and even that
- 40:37Speaker 4: one didn't go over. I mean, Disney put out a Tarzan.
- 40:40Speaker 4: Who cared about that?
- 40:41Speaker 2: Nobody.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Even Disney. I mean, Disney can bring in everybody, but
- 40:44Speaker 4: that was one of their misses. People were like, oh, well,
- 40:47Speaker 4: never mind. It's Tarzan. Yeah, I mean, kids don't really
- 40:50Speaker 4: seem to care about Tarzan.
- 40:51Speaker 8: Not even Phil Collins could make people care about that movie.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Oh, that's sad, because everyone loves Phil Collins.
- 41:00Speaker 2: So, yeah, I don't know.
- 41:01Speaker 4: To me, I mean, once again, even the hand-drawn animated
- 41:05Speaker 4: version didn't really come off right. So how is CGI
- 41:09Speaker 4: going to save it?
- 41:10Speaker 3: It's not.
- 41:11Speaker 4: That's my complaint on all these.
- 41:12Speaker 2: It's going to be a big waste of money.
- 41:14Speaker 4: And it's going to get even more... annoying right now.
- 41:17Speaker 4: This one is the one that kills me because this
- 41:18Speaker 4: one is just kind of crossing the line. In addition
- 41:22Speaker 4: to the non-Looney Tunes characters this year, like Yogi Bear,
- 41:25Speaker 4: that Warner Brothers is developing, they're big fun. Misty, you
- 41:28Speaker 4: love that one.
- 41:28Speaker 7: Fucking hate that trailer. I watched it and it pissed
- 41:30Speaker 7: me off. I could go on and on. Why are
- 41:33Speaker 7: you going to get big name stars to do the
- 41:34Speaker 7: voices if you're going to change your voices so much
- 41:36Speaker 7: that you can't tell who the fuck they are?
- 41:37Speaker 12: Who?
- 41:38Speaker 7: They got Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake.
- 41:41Speaker 2: But you couldn't even tell it was them.
- 41:42Speaker 7: You can't tell it's them. They've jacked their voices up
- 41:45Speaker 7: to a point where you have no fucking... It could
- 41:47Speaker 7: be a random guy down the street for all you know.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Can't tell it's them which is what makes no sense
- 41:51Speaker 4: it's like if you're gonna mess it up so that
- 41:53Speaker 4: you don't recognize their voice why not just pay a
- 41:55Speaker 4: random actor to you know a voice.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Actor like i said because you don't get the name
- 41:59Speaker 2: you know dan ackroyd justin timberlake you get people go
- 42:01Speaker 2: oh i'd like to see justin timberlake in a movie
- 42:04Speaker 2: i want to see him as a bear you know
- 42:06Speaker 2: you know what movie.
- 42:08Speaker 8: I love justin timberlake in black snake moan.
- 42:14Speaker 7: I love that movie.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Me too.
- 42:16Speaker 10: Every time I go dancing, it depends on how much
- 42:19Speaker 10: I've had to drink, but Wednesday, I saw Scott Burham.
- 42:22Speaker 8: You remember him? I actually liked him.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Once again, that makes no sense because he's kind of
- 42:27Speaker 4: a pussy in that movie. That's what he gets called
- 42:30Speaker 4: out for the whole thing.
- 42:31Speaker 12: Yeah, I know.
- 42:31Speaker 8: That's what I like, though.
- 42:33Speaker 2: But you don't.
- 42:34Speaker 4: You just complain that men aren't manly men.
- 42:36Speaker 19: I didn't say.
- 42:37Speaker 10: That I want to have sex with Justin Timberlake in
- 42:40Speaker 10: that movie.
- 42:40Speaker 8: I said I liked him in that movie.
- 42:42Speaker 2: As far as an actor? As far as an actor. Okay,
- 42:44Speaker 2: that's different.
- 42:46Speaker 8: Justin Timberlake disgusts me.
- 42:47Speaker 7: He has a stupid nose.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I don't like his face.
- 42:51Speaker 8: I just don't like his face. I don't like his
- 42:52Speaker 8: cornrows that he had. I don't like his curly blonde hair.
- 42:56Speaker 7: I could get past most of that if it wasn't
- 42:57Speaker 7: for his nose.
- 42:58Speaker 8: I don't like that when he sings, I can't tell
- 43:00Speaker 8: if it's a girl or a guy singing.
- 43:01Speaker 7: I'm okay with that.
- 43:02Speaker 8: Sexy back, but bringing sexy back song. I thought it
- 43:04Speaker 8: was a girl forever. I do too.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 43:07Speaker 4: He's a, he's a master beatboxer.
- 43:08Speaker 7: That's all.
- 43:09Speaker 8: I swear.
- 43:10Speaker 7: When we went and saw him in concert, that's all
- 43:12Speaker 7: he did.
- 43:13Speaker 4: He did like a 20 minute beatbox. It was phenomenal.
- 43:16Speaker 2: It was scary. I didn't go to this concert. It
- 43:20Speaker 2: was scary. I didn't go to this concert.
- 43:24Speaker 7: It was Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
- 43:27Speaker 4: Win, win right there.
- 43:28Speaker 19: Come on.
- 43:28Speaker 8: That makes more sense. But, um, No, anytime I'm dancing,
- 43:32Speaker 8: and it depends on.
- 43:34Speaker 10: What I'm dancing to, but I think at least two
- 43:37Speaker 10: times I would be like, whoa, black stick moment.
- 43:41Speaker 7: Wow.
- 43:42Speaker 4: And how does that specifically tie to him?
- 43:44Speaker 2: It doesn't.
- 43:44Speaker 7: And then you hit the floor.
- 43:46Speaker 2: It doesn't.
- 43:46Speaker 7: And then you threw up on somebody's shoes.
- 43:49Speaker 4: Okay, we've all seen these actions.
- 43:50Speaker 8: No, I didn't throw up on anybody's shoes. I dropped
- 43:52Speaker 8: my drink on someone's shoes.
- 43:54Speaker 2: And then some girl tries to honk you.
- 43:55Speaker 8: And threw up in a trash can, okay?
- 43:57Speaker 2: I remember that one.
- 44:00Speaker 4: She really liked it.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Again?
- 44:02Speaker 8: Yeah, it always happens. She was, like, grabbing my butt,
- 44:05Speaker 8: and I'm like.
- 44:06Speaker 4: I don't know what's going on.
- 44:09Speaker 7: I will never try to hump you if that makes
- 44:10Speaker 7: you feel more comfortable.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Jesus.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Why does every night out end up with you screaming,
- 44:14Speaker 4: I don't know what's going on?
- 44:16Speaker 7: Why is this person humping me?
- 44:18Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 44:19Speaker 8: It does happen every time.
- 44:20Speaker 2: I go out.
- 44:21Speaker 7: Why don't go out?
- 44:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I wouldn't leave the house if I were you.
- 44:25Speaker 7: Yeah. That's why you go out. Yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 4: We all have different standards. What the hell were you
- 44:32Speaker 4: even talking about?
- 44:33Speaker 2: I forgot.
- 44:34Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 44:35Speaker 4: It started with Yogi Bear.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Okay, Yogi Bear.
- 44:38Speaker 4: What else?
- 44:38Speaker 7: Did Yogi Bear hump you?
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 44:41Speaker 8: Yes, he was.
- 44:43Speaker 4: It was a trade-off for a picnic basket.
- 44:45Speaker 8: Justin Timberlake, and then I said, you know, I really
- 44:47Speaker 8: love Justin Timberlake.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Okay, we're going to end it back there. Back around.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Back around. Backertize it.
- 44:53Speaker 4: Backertize.
- 44:54Speaker 7: Back around.
- 44:55Speaker 4: So, yeah, they're already working on, aside from the Yogi Bear,
- 44:58Speaker 4: which we won't start again on, which I hadn't even heard,
- 45:00Speaker 4: they're working on a Marvin the Martian one, which is wrong,
- 45:03Speaker 4: because I really like Marvin, too. I heard the Speedy
- 45:06Speaker 4: Gonzalez one. We've already bitched about that one. But those
- 45:08Speaker 4: are their supporting characters. Now they're saying Warner Brothers has
- 45:11Speaker 4: announced plans for a movie starring their biggest star.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Bugs bunny bugs bunny because we need another fucking bugs.
- 45:17Speaker 4: Bunny why space jam why yeah i mean have we
- 45:20Speaker 4: learned nothing from you know the last ones were space
- 45:23Speaker 4: jam and back in action both of which are horrible
- 45:26Speaker 4: and they weren't even like full-on cgi they were just
- 45:29Speaker 4: bad animation they've moved into animating badly in the you
- 45:32Speaker 4: know from the 80s to the 90s they just got
- 45:35Speaker 4: kind of hacky about their animation.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Best fucking idea they can come up with ah I
- 45:39Speaker 2: don't know.
- 45:40Speaker 8: I don't really think people care about.
- 45:42Speaker 7: And that's the other thing.
- 45:42Speaker 4: I was like, you can't... Anything they've done that's a
- 45:45Speaker 4: new version of the Looney Tunes is bad. You can't
- 45:48Speaker 4: make it work anymore.
- 45:49Speaker 7: When's the new Tasmanian Devil moving on?
- 45:51Speaker 2: Oh, good God. Fuck all that. You know they will, too.
- 45:54Speaker 7: I can get my tattoo of the Tasmanian Devil right
- 45:56Speaker 7: next to the number three.
- 45:57Speaker 2: I'm going to get a toity bird on me.
- 45:59Speaker 10: I'm actually thinking about getting a Tasmanian devil tattoo just
- 46:02Speaker 10: because it would be really funny.
- 46:03Speaker 4: It's not funny.
- 46:04Speaker 2: No, it wouldn't be funny. It's not funny. Not even
- 46:06Speaker 2: in any... I feel like I.
- 46:08Speaker 10: Live a little too close to Kentucky for the irony
- 46:10Speaker 10: to be realized and appreciated.
- 46:12Speaker 4: It would not at all in any way, shape, or
- 46:15Speaker 4: form be appreciated.
- 46:17Speaker 7: Hey, big old man, that girl got a Tasmanian devil tattoo.
- 46:20Speaker 7: I'm going to go hump her.
- 46:21Speaker 2: I work with a guy that has a Tasmanian devil tattoo.
- 46:25Speaker 2: A really bad one.
- 46:27Speaker 8: I work with a guy who has a wolf tattoo.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Ooh, classy.
- 46:33Speaker 4: Yeah, so I don't understand why they haven't learned their lesson,
- 46:37Speaker 4: because everybody that made those cartoons so awesome is dead now.
- 46:40Speaker 4: I mean, they just face it.
- 46:41Speaker 2: They are.
- 46:42Speaker 4: The writers are all gone, the directors are all gone,
- 46:44Speaker 4: Mel Blanc is gone.
- 46:45Speaker 2: They're not going to be like they were when they
- 46:46Speaker 2: were cartoons.
- 46:47Speaker 4: They were edgy.
- 46:50Speaker 2: They were. They're cartoons. They were edgy.
- 46:52Speaker 3: They dealt with current situations.
- 46:54Speaker 7: Cross-dressing.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Yeah, they dealt with some shit that you didn't even
- 46:58Speaker 2: want to really delve into.
- 47:00Speaker 4: I mean, so much so that there are several cartoons
- 47:02Speaker 4: that are completely banned now. They will not show them
- 47:05Speaker 4: because they were that, not only on the edge, but
- 47:08Speaker 4: sometimes crossing the line.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Crossing the line.
- 47:10Speaker 4: In the shit they don't need to be talking about.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, almost like Tom and Jerry on certain things. But, yeah, yeah.
- 47:16Speaker 2: They ain't going to write about that crap nowadays. No.
- 47:18Speaker 2: You know, it's just going to be cutesy, you know.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Homogenized bullshit. Yeah. Hey, what can we throw in here
- 47:24Speaker 2: to try to, you know, tie it into pop culture and,
- 47:26Speaker 2: you know, everybody will love it. And then all the
- 47:29Speaker 2: kids will run around and just parrot it. They hear
- 47:33Speaker 2: that shit.
- 47:35Speaker 4: Now you're thinking of yourself.
- 47:36Speaker 11: Yeah. Oh, I don't know.
- 47:39Speaker 4: It just seems like such a bad idea. So, yeah,
- 47:42Speaker 4: let's move on. Stop making bad CGI animation, which they're not,
- 47:45Speaker 4: because half the trailers we just looked at earlier today
- 47:47Speaker 4: were all bad CGI animation. So I don't know what
- 47:51Speaker 4: to do with it.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Not watching.
- 47:54Speaker 4: All right, on to hooking up with old ladies.
- 47:57Speaker 7: Betty White?
- 47:58Speaker 4: Director!
- 48:01Speaker 8: Why won't Betty White do some nudity scenes? That's what
- 48:03Speaker 8: I'm talking about.
- 48:04Speaker 7: I like her. She's awesome and all, but ew.
- 48:07Speaker 2: I'm joking.
- 48:07Speaker 4: How come I can't say, you know, why is Betty
- 48:09Speaker 4: White humping me?
- 48:10Speaker 2: No, that never happens.
- 48:12Speaker 4: So director Richard Linklater, who did many good films back
- 48:16Speaker 4: in the day, he did the Before Sunset and Dazed
- 48:19Speaker 4: and Confused and some of really awesome stuff in the
- 48:21Speaker 4: early days, but his biggest hit was probably 2003's School
- 48:25Speaker 4: of Rock with Jack Black, which is one of the
- 48:28Speaker 4: better roles of Jack Black's, by the way. But now,
- 48:31Speaker 4: he's gone downhill since then, sadly. The two of them
- 48:35Speaker 4: are reuniting in a comedy called Burning, which is inspired
- 48:39Speaker 4: by the true story of a Texas mortician who develops
- 48:42Speaker 4: a friendship with a wealthy widow, played by not Betty White,
- 48:45Speaker 4: but Shirley MacLaine.
- 48:48Speaker 7: But the name of it's Bernie.
- 48:49Speaker 4: Who he then kills and keeps her body in a
- 48:52Speaker 4: freezer in an attempt to maintain the illusion that she
- 48:54Speaker 4: is still alive.
- 48:55Speaker 7: Yeah, it's nothing at all like Weekend at Bernie's.
- 48:57Speaker 4: Why would you not change her name or change his name?
- 49:00Speaker 4: Whoever fucking is Bernie, why would you want that? Because, yeah,
- 49:04Speaker 4: they're saying it's sort of like Harold and Maude meets
- 49:06Speaker 4: Weekend at Bernie's. I'm like, well, if you're already ripping
- 49:09Speaker 4: off Weekend at Bernie's, then don't put the name Bernie
- 49:12Speaker 4: in there, let alone title it.
- 49:14Speaker 2: You've got to throw that little negative homage in there.
- 49:16Speaker 4: Yeah, because people are stupid and they don't get it
- 49:19Speaker 4: unless you name it Bernie.
- 49:20Speaker 2: It it's bernie like weekend.
- 49:22Speaker 4: At bernie's like a dead guy.
- 49:24Speaker 8: I remember weekend at bernie's i'm not gonna.
- 49:26Speaker 4: Well that's the thing i don't i mean people will
- 49:28Speaker 4: call me out for that i'm sure but it's not
- 49:30Speaker 4: a bad movie as a comedy there's a lot of
- 49:32Speaker 4: good stuff in there if you take out the stupid
- 49:34Speaker 4: dead guy jokes That's the least impressive thing in that movie.
- 49:37Speaker 4: There's actually some decent comedy in there aside from that.
- 49:40Speaker 2: My mom loves that movie. What happened to the days
- 49:42Speaker 2: when you could make fun of dead people? Now you
- 49:44Speaker 2: can't even do it. They won't let you make fun
- 49:46Speaker 2: of nothing anymore.
- 49:46Speaker 4: We're too PC for making fun of dead people.
- 49:49Speaker 2: They make fun of everybody. Somebody will complain. Somebody will cry.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Dead people will be up in arms.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:54Speaker 4: Dead people are going to get together. Protesting.
- 49:59Speaker 2: Dead people's rights. Zombie approach. Yeah, that's different. That's zombies. Yeah,
- 50:04Speaker 2: you can't make fun of them either.
- 50:06Speaker 8: There's plenty of movies about zombie rights.
- 50:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Unfortunately, that is true. So, yeah.
- 50:12Speaker 7: Would there be a PETA for dead people? People for
- 50:16Speaker 7: the ethical treatment of zombies?
- 50:19Speaker 2: Pets?
- 50:20Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 50:20Speaker 2: Yeah, pets.
- 50:23Speaker 4: No, I think that was a video game. A bad
- 50:25Speaker 4: video game. Yeah, I don't know. So, yeah, coincidentally this week,
- 50:28Speaker 4: Fox Searchlight also picked up the rights to a comedy
- 50:30Speaker 4: pitch called Motherfucker.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Sweet. Actually, that kind of sounds funny. I think I
- 50:35Speaker 2: saw something about that.
- 50:36Speaker 4: It's about a man who falls in love with his
- 50:38Speaker 4: girlfriend's mother, who has a similar May-December chemistry to Bernie,
- 50:43Speaker 4: although she is even older than the lady in Motherfucker
- 50:46Speaker 4: and possibly doesn't end up in the guy's freezer.
- 50:48Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 50:49Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 50:50Speaker 4: I don't know. I will be impressed if it makes
- 50:53Speaker 4: it all the way to being on the poster as Motherfuck. Now, granted,
- 50:56Speaker 4: they're putting three stars in there, but still, the society
- 50:59Speaker 4: we live in, I will be amazed if it makes it.
- 51:02Speaker 7: They're having a shit fit over shit my dad said.
- 51:05Speaker 7: I know. How are they going to let Motherfucker slide through?
- 51:08Speaker 2: That's a curse?
- 51:09Speaker 7: Word.
- 51:09Speaker 2: I can tell it's a curse word.
- 51:11Speaker 4: They're going to lose their mind.
- 51:13Speaker 8: Fuck you.
- 51:14Speaker 16: God.
- 51:15Speaker 4: Shit.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Fucking people. Nicely put.
- 51:19Speaker 4: I think that makes our point.
- 51:20Speaker 2: What the hell? You're going to fucking sit there and
- 51:22Speaker 2: complain about it. And people are sitting there going, my
- 51:24Speaker 2: kid might know it's a curse word.
- 51:26Speaker 4: You know what?
- 51:27Speaker 2: I bet your little Johnny's heard fuck, shit, damn, ass,
- 51:29Speaker 2: and all that other shit in fucking third grade.
- 51:32Speaker 9: I did.
- 51:32Speaker 6: No matter how many No matter how much my parents
- 51:37Speaker 6: sat there and turned the TV off and made me
- 51:39Speaker 6: only watch PG movies, I still snuck out over to
- 51:42Speaker 6: other friends' houses and watched R-rated movies and fucking porn
- 51:46Speaker 6: on Showtime and shit like that.
- 51:49Speaker 2: You can't hide it from your kids.
- 51:50Speaker 4: You can't.
- 51:51Speaker 7: The more you hide it, the more they're going to
- 51:52Speaker 7: want it.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 51:55Speaker 4: And it doesn't matter. You can shelter them all you
- 51:57Speaker 4: want up until they go to school. And when they
- 51:59Speaker 4: go to school, they're going to hear everything.
- 52:02Speaker 3: I got in trouble in fourth grade for telling some
- 52:04Speaker 3: kid to fuck off.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Fourth grade. You're not going to fucking hide it from them.
- 52:10Speaker 2: By that point, I remember every kid was just cursing.
- 52:12Speaker 4: Everything was normal the way that it is now, sadly.
- 52:15Speaker 4: I was probably talking this way now.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Did your mom wash.
- 52:18Speaker 7: Your mouth out with soap?
- 52:19Speaker 2: No, but I did call my dad a bastard one time.
- 52:21Speaker 2: That got me in a lot of trouble.
- 52:23Speaker 4: I told you not to use the Lifebuoy.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Yeah, not the Lifebuoy. No, I never got the soap.
- 52:27Speaker 7: Is that why you're so blind now?
- 52:32Speaker 2: No, that was from looking at all them naked women.
- 52:33Speaker 2: That's what my dad told me. You look at naked women, boy,
- 52:35Speaker 2: you'll make you blind.
- 52:36Speaker 3: I was like, damn, I must have looked at a
- 52:38Speaker 3: lot of them because I sure as hell.
- 52:39Speaker 2: Can't fucking see. It's the price you pay.
- 52:43Speaker 7: No, seriously, have you seen his fucking glasses?
- 52:46Speaker 2: Actually, like, They're BCDs. They're fucking fish balls.
- 52:52Speaker 7: They're like negative 12 and negative 13.
- 52:55Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 52:56Speaker 3: I could start forest fires with them fuckers.
- 52:58Speaker 2: I could see into the future. All that shit. I
- 53:04Speaker 2: can deflect bullets on everything. Why don't I wear them?
- 53:08Speaker 2: Because they fucking weigh my face down.
- 53:09Speaker 7: I don't want to wear them.
- 53:12Speaker 8: Do they not make contacts that are.
- 53:13Speaker 2: No, I've got contact lenses in, but I'm like on
- 53:15Speaker 2: probably the last couple of powers of contact lenses I
- 53:18Speaker 2: can wear, which is why I've been wearing the same
- 53:19Speaker 2: damn lenses for the past couple of years. My eye
- 53:21Speaker 2: doctor's like, well, you only got a couple more to go,
- 53:23Speaker 2: and then you're not going to be wearing contacts. I'm like, dude,
- 53:25Speaker 2: just give me the same damn contact lenses. I don't
- 53:27Speaker 2: care if I can't see. At least I can see
- 53:29Speaker 2: several things.
- 53:30Speaker 4: You know.
- 53:31Speaker 7: See basic shapes.
- 53:32Speaker 3: I can make out basic shapes.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Oh, it's a triangle. You know, shit like that, but... No, really.
- 53:37Speaker 11: I mean, come on.
- 53:37Speaker 7: This is why he likes me. He can't actually see me.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Oh, shut up. I can tell you. I put my
- 53:42Speaker 2: glasses on at night.
- 53:43Speaker 4: Hopefully at this point you'll take over the driving, Missy.
- 53:46Speaker 10: That's the sweetest thing anyone's ever said.
- 53:51Speaker 2: No, I can't wear my glasses to work because you
- 53:52Speaker 2: get hot and sweaty and the fuckers slide right off
- 53:54Speaker 2: your nose. I mean, it's like, really, it's like having
- 53:57Speaker 2: a five-pound barbell on your neck. Except for it's made
- 54:00Speaker 2: out of glass, and it slides off. And they're the
- 54:03Speaker 2: featherlight lenses. Yeah, right. Yeah, exactly. The doctor's like, oh, well,
- 54:07Speaker 2: we'll get you the new featherlight lenses, and we'll round
- 54:10Speaker 2: the corners off so they don't cut your eyes. Dude,
- 54:12Speaker 2: these things fucking weigh a ton.
- 54:14Speaker 3: They do, and they're like an inch thick. And these
- 54:16Speaker 3: are the featherlights?
- 54:17Speaker 2: Come on, really? Give me a break.
- 54:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 54:20Speaker 4: Like, it's not my fault you have to wear magnifying glass.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Yeah, we can send probes to fucking Mars, but you
- 54:25Speaker 2: can't give me some glasses that aren't, you know, three
- 54:27Speaker 2: inches thick? No, we have not gotten to that point.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Did you not get any other technology from the Nazis
- 54:33Speaker 2: or Area 51 or anything like that that's like lightweight
- 54:36Speaker 2: plastic that I can actually see through?
- 54:38Speaker 7: No.
- 54:38Speaker 4: Invisible lead. Yeah, something, something.
- 54:41Speaker 2: God, give me something, please.
- 54:43Speaker 7: Wow, that was another wild off-tangent.
- 54:47Speaker 4: We specialize in tangents.
- 54:48Speaker 2: Go for it, man.
- 54:49Speaker 4: The tangent.
- 54:51Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:53Speaker 2: I went from cussing about... Fucking shit, but whatever. Anyways, yeah. No,
- 54:59Speaker 2: my point is, if you don't want your kids to
- 55:02Speaker 2: watch this stuff, and if you're offended by it, then
- 55:04Speaker 2: turn the TV off. Keep them locked in the basement.
- 55:06Speaker 7: Keep them locked in the basement.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Keep them locked in the basement, or turn the damn
- 55:09Speaker 3: TV off.
- 55:10Speaker 2: It's got an on and off button.
- 55:11Speaker 10: Move to Amish country. I feel like if you want
- 55:13Speaker 10: to shelter your kids, go live in a hole in
- 55:15Speaker 10: the forest.
- 55:16Speaker 7: Is that what the Amish do? Live in holes?
- 55:19Speaker 4: They're woodchucks?
- 55:20Speaker 2: Magical Amish. They grant you three witches if you kiss them.
- 55:26Speaker 4: I was like, Amish or hobbits? Wait a minute.
- 55:29Speaker 8: Those two separate ideas.
- 55:31Speaker 2: Go join the Amish or.
- 55:34Speaker 4: Or join the Shire.
- 55:36Speaker 2: I caught an Amish once and all he gave me
- 55:38Speaker 2: was furniture.
- 55:39Speaker 3: The fucking lame ass would.
- 55:42Speaker 4: Dude, I'm the worst leprechaun ever.
- 55:44Speaker 2: You know what?
- 55:45Speaker 8: If I caught an Amish person that gave me like
- 55:47Speaker 8: Amish fudge, it'd be really awesome.
- 55:49Speaker 7: Dude, that would be awesome. I love Amish fudge.
- 55:51Speaker 10: There's a farmer's market that happens every day on Saturday
- 55:55Speaker 10: by my house.
- 55:55Speaker 8: They have bread and fudge and oh my God.
- 55:57Speaker 9: Okay, whatever.
- 55:59Speaker 4: Do not accept fudge from strangers. I'm sorry. There should
- 56:02Speaker 4: be a rule there.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Unless he's got a magical beard and a corncob pipe
- 56:05Speaker 2: and a little straw hat.
- 56:07Speaker 8: I trust him. I totally trust him.
- 56:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 56:09Speaker 2: What are they going to do? That's wrong.
- 56:10Speaker 15: They're Amish.
- 56:11Speaker 2: They're cool as shit. Amish. Yeah, Misty's right. They don't
- 56:14Speaker 2: have weapons.
- 56:15Speaker 7: If they fuck you over, they know they're in deep shit.
- 56:19Speaker 4: Amish or not, I don't trust them.
- 56:22Speaker 7: They can't run that fast.
- 56:23Speaker 2: They have horses.
- 56:24Speaker 7: They got a car.
- 56:25Speaker 2: They hide their kids' eyes every time we walk around.
- 56:28Speaker 3: Oh my God, don't look at them.
- 56:31Speaker 2: Oh my god, don't make eye contact. The damn heathens.
- 56:34Speaker 7: What's the world coming to?
- 56:36Speaker 12: I don't want people to shield their children's eyes when
- 56:41Speaker 12: I walk by.
- 56:42Speaker 7: That's my only goal in life.
- 56:43Speaker 2: They do that.
- 56:44Speaker 7: They do.
- 56:45Speaker 8: I've never noticed.
- 56:46Speaker 7: And that girl, she's got a fish hook in her.
- 56:48Speaker 8: I don't pay that much attention to what other people do.
- 56:51Speaker 2: I do and I laugh. Okay, anyways. Where the fuck
- 56:55Speaker 2: were we? Anyways.
- 56:57Speaker 4: Alex Cross is a police detective and psychologist character who
- 57:00Speaker 4: has appeared in many novels by author James Patterson. Fans
- 57:03Speaker 4: best know him as a character played by Morgan Freeman
- 57:06Speaker 4: in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider.
- 57:08Speaker 14: Oh, yeah.
- 57:09Speaker 4: They're going to continue on with him, but Freeman is
- 57:11Speaker 4: now a little older than the character. He's 73, which
- 57:14Speaker 4: I didn't realize he was fucking 73. I didn't sleep
- 57:16Speaker 4: with his granddaughter. Well, that's okay.
- 57:18Speaker 8: Sleeping with his granddaughter?
- 57:20Speaker 2: Yeah. That's okay. That's hot.
- 57:22Speaker 10: What?
- 57:22Speaker 2: I'm confused.
- 57:23Speaker 4: It's a separate daughter. So, yeah, there are plans for
- 57:26Speaker 4: the new version, and the new Alex Cross.
- 57:28Speaker 12: Woody Allen shit.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. What's he in the Woody Allen Club? That's fine,
- 57:33Speaker 2: isn't it?
- 57:33Speaker 8: I really don't think.
- 57:34Speaker 10: It's as gross for Woody Allen, because he was never
- 57:36Speaker 10: connected to that girl.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Nah, but he kind of was. Like, I don't know.
- 57:41Speaker 2: It's weird.
- 57:41Speaker 4: I won't even go into it. He was around her
- 57:44Speaker 4: while she was growing up. That kind of makes you family.
- 57:47Speaker 4: It's creepy, so.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Either way.
- 57:50Speaker 4: So, yeah, the actor that has now been chosen is
- 57:52Speaker 4: Idris Elba, who is best known for playing Stringer Bell
- 57:57Speaker 4: in The Wire, which is actually, from what I hear,
- 58:00Speaker 4: pretty awesome. I haven't had that channel, and I haven't
- 58:02Speaker 4: had time to devote to the seasons and seasons of
- 58:05Speaker 4: The Wire, but supposedly it's amazing.
- 58:07Speaker 10: Me neither.
- 58:08Speaker 4: And kind of had some controversy when he was cast
- 58:10Speaker 4: as the Norse god Heimdall in this next year's Thor.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Why is that?
- 58:16Speaker 4: I don't know, because people like to get pissy about everything. Anytime,
- 58:19Speaker 4: especially if you cast a black guy in any role.
- 58:21Speaker 4: In a Norse role? Yeah, I can see how that
- 58:24Speaker 4: could kind of make some people get upset. But at
- 58:26Speaker 4: the same time, what world do we live in? We
- 58:28Speaker 4: kind of know you're going to have to cast whoever.
- 58:31Speaker 4: We know we have to fill the... We've got to
- 58:33Speaker 4: have a black guy, we've got to have this guy. Yeah,
- 58:34Speaker 4: but still, even still, that's... I'm not saying it makes sense.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Yeah, not being, you know... it makes sense to me
- 58:41Speaker 2: why people, why you wouldn't cast him in it.
- 58:44Speaker 14: Yes.
- 58:44Speaker 2: I mean, that's like having a black Nazi. I mean,
- 58:47Speaker 2: come on, really?
- 58:48Speaker 4: What?
- 58:48Speaker 2: They didn't have those? Yeah.
- 58:49Speaker 10: I mean, what?
- 58:50Speaker 12: Huh?
- 58:51Speaker 4: You know, that one doesn't, but I mean, people lost
- 58:53Speaker 4: their damn mind when they suggested a black Peter Parker
- 58:56Speaker 4: for this next movie. And I'm like, well, now that
- 58:58Speaker 4: really shouldn't matter.
- 59:00Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 59:00Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 59:00Speaker 2: It's Peter Parker. It's not like something, you know, it's
- 59:03Speaker 2: not something that's tied to a specific culture or religion.
- 59:07Speaker 2: I mean, if that's the point, how come we don't
- 59:08Speaker 2: have white African gods? I mean, they'd throw a fit
- 59:10Speaker 2: over that, you know? I mean, come on. Probably would.
- 59:12Speaker 2: I can understand where they're coming from, you know, kind
- 59:15Speaker 2: of both ways, but still, it makes more sense. I
- 59:17Speaker 2: understand why. Yeah, it's one of those, it.
- 59:19Speaker 4: doesn't make sense to me but at the same time
- 59:21Speaker 4: was i surprised when i heard it no no i
- 59:23Speaker 4: was like that's the way they cast movies we know
- 59:25Speaker 4: that you.
- 59:25Speaker 2: Said it's gotten so pc now that we've got it
- 59:28Speaker 2: well you gotta be.
- 59:29Speaker 3: Fair to everybody everybody gets a.
- 59:30Speaker 4: Trophy yeah you gotta have something for everybody we'll have
- 59:33Speaker 4: to have a few women up there we'll have to
- 59:34Speaker 4: have a black guy maybe there'll be an asian norse
- 59:37Speaker 4: god who knows but yeah.
- 59:38Speaker 2: But i mean computer nerd why do they care you
- 59:41Speaker 2: know i mean really i don't Why would they care?
- 59:45Speaker 3: Is it to get more people to go see that movie?
- 59:47Speaker 11: Probably.
- 59:48Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sure that's their casting reason is because then,
- 59:51Speaker 4: you know, a whole bunch of white people in Thor
- 59:53Speaker 4: isn't going to bring in the black audience. So we've
- 59:54Speaker 4: got to find some way. Who can we cast? But again,
- 59:57Speaker 4: wouldn't you cast him like in the human side? Why
- 59:59Speaker 4: would you cast him as a Norse god?
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: But why would you care? Why would black people care
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: about Thor?
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: Thor's hot.
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: No, either way.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: No, I'm just saying, why would they care about Thor?
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: Black people do like hot Thor.
- 1:00:10Speaker 7: I'm serious, dude. Chris Hemsworth?
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: They were showing him on TV the other day. I
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: can say I don't think they went the wrong direction.
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: He does definitely look like, he looks the part. He
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: also looks like he probably will be okay as a
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: leading man, so... From that angle, they didn't go wrong.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody cared about the Asian people. How come they
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: didn't put an Asian person in Valhalla? What the hell
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: is up with that shit? Because they don't have computers
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: up there.
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: Asians are good for it.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: They're not Kung Fu.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: They're not bitching loud enough, I guess.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: But either way, I'll still go see Thor. I like Thor.
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Me too. So yeah, either way. This guy is actually...
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: And once I saw pictures of him, and we were
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: just looking at him, I don't think that's a bad
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: way to go. To me, I can see him as
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: sort of the younger Morgan Freeman. I think he's kind
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: of got the look, and from what I've seen... is
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: a pretty damn good actor and could almost pull off,
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: you know, that same, I mean, cause that's, that's kind
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: of big shoes to fill. Morgan Freeman's a hell of
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: an actor. So you couldn't just throw Will Smith in
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: there and be like, okay, pretend like you're Morgan Freeman now.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: Cause he's going to be Will Smith. And, you know,
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: I think this guy could kind of take on the
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: role and be the character. Not, you know, if you
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: cast any other, or one of the women, Oh, God
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: help us.
- 1:01:23Speaker 10: I think it said something about him being a really
- 1:01:25Speaker 10: serious British theater actor.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: He is, yeah. Well, see, that's cool.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: It's funny that he's on the wire, because, yeah, he's undercover,
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: and he's got to talk street and everything, but when
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: you see him in the real world, he has a
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: British accent, and nobody recognizes him all of a sudden.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: They're just like, wait, wait, no, that's not you.
- 1:01:40Speaker 8: Mm-hmm.
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: You're a street guy.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: You're from the streets.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: From the streets.
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: With a Z.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: Or the next movie will be based on Patterson's novel Cross,
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: which appears to be a prequel of sorts, which makes
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: sense since he's going to be massively younger, telling the
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: story of a younger Alex Cross as the rising star
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: in the Washington, D.C. police department where an unknown shooter
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: has gunned down his wife Maria in front of him,
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: and I'm assuming that's probably going to piss him off, so...
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: maybe we'll have a scene with him on his knees
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: with his arms thrown to the sky with.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: That what if he's okay with that he's like damn there's.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: Probably plenty of people i got out.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Of this no you know i didn't have prenups well
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: that goes on but usually those guys are paying the
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: gunman before they're like here please take.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: Care of her that's called a business deal.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:31Speaker 12: Nice.
- 1:02:32Speaker 11: Really nice.
- 1:02:33Speaker 13: Oh, I forgot to talk about during my geek week
- 1:02:35Speaker 13: that I've been reading The NeverEnding Story. And I figured
- 1:02:38Speaker 13: out why they call it The NeverEnding Story. Because it
- 1:02:40Speaker 13: feels like it's never going to fucking end. Hand to God.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: Hand to God. Oh, so you're loving the book.
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: It was all right until he got there, to which
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: it's not really Fantasia anymore.
- 1:02:55Speaker 9: It's Fantastic.
- 1:02:56Speaker 10: Fantastic.
- 1:02:57Speaker 19: Fantastica?
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: Fantastica.
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: Sounds like a gay club. It does.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: I think I've been there.
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: Maybe that would make it more awesome.
- 1:03:05Speaker 8: I'm down. Let's go.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: Hey, somebody will be humping you any minute. Gay or not,
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: they'll still be humping you.
- 1:03:12Speaker 8: It's aggravating. I'm a hump magnet.
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: I'll probably talk about it. I'll finish it by.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Next week and I'll talk more about it. Alright, what else?
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Was there more, Buzz?
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: Was there more happening?
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: There is more.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Do we want to hear about the John Belushi? Sure.
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: Oh, they're making a John Belushi movie. And it might
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: be that with Zach Gill fucking.
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: That's the thing.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: They're making.
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: Yeah, they already did one John Belushi movie, so it's
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: funny that... And I forgot that was Michael Chiklis. He
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: was like such a nobody when they made that. I hadn't...
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: It had been so long, I forgot that was him.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: But yeah, now they're... But that was totally... Like, that
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: was sort of... a hard look at his life, and
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: it was unauthorized. So now they've actually got his widow
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: on board. She's written a biography about John, and now
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: she's coming back and doing, like, the official version that's
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: been okayed by his estate and whatnot. So, yeah, they're
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: talking about who they're going to cast. So, yeah, they
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: are saying Zach Galifianakis.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Okay, who is he, and what's he been in? He
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: has a beard.
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: Who's the guy in Hangover?
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: I was going to say, stuff you've seen, probably nothing.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: Because it's all pretty... I mean, he's been in stuff
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: for years, but it's not... The big starring... Yeah, now
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: he's all of a sudden huge, but I don't think.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 1:04:24Speaker 8: You've seen it.
- 1:04:24Speaker 7: I'm hoping Star Wars 2, they're going to get to
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: play a young Dan Aykroyd during whatever Blues Brother reference
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: they're going to make.
- 1:04:28Speaker 14: There you go.
- 1:04:30Speaker 7: If it's Shia LaBeouf, I'm going to fucking kill somebody.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: You know it will be.
- 1:04:33Speaker 7: Or Zach. Oh, actually, Zach Efron. He's gotten a little
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: bit prettier. I can tolerate him now.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: I don't know if he matches.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they've got to find somebody that kind of matches
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Dan Aykroyd.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: He was not pretty. He wasn't unattractive back in the day.
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: I know you were down with him, but he wasn't
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: like Zach, pretty boy kind of looks.
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: Dan Aykroyd used to be hot.
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: But he wasn't a pretty boy. I mean, even back
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: in the day, he was just a normal guy, really.
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: And Blues Brothers, he was hot. First Ghostbusters.
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: Kind of pushing it.
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: Pushing it.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: But yeah, Zach, they're saying is the big contender now
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: because he's such a name, but he's also like 40.
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: So they're going to be doing the earlier days. So
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: they're saying they don't know if he's going to be
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: able to pull off the young version.
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: Look at that one Jonas guy. That's his name.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Jonah Hill?
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: Jonah Hill, yeah. That's what everybody, that's what they're saying.
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: And that doesn't surprise me, actually. I can kind of
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: see that because he's, again, he's kind of a go-to.
- 1:05:23Speaker 7: Or Josh before he got skinny.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Josh?
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: Well, I mean, they did. Did you ever see when
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: they did the Blues Brothers?
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: Because they kind of fit, so they did a whole
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: little Blues Brothers thing on the episode, but now he's
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: gotten skinny, so he's ruined it.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Good going.
- 1:05:35Speaker 8: Get fat again.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: People think you're funny.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: I think Jonah Hill's making up for that.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what happens.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: He's like putting on weight. So I don't know, they might...
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: Steve Urkel, he.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: Got muscular and then nobody thought he was funny anymore.
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: Joe Piscopo disease.
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: Was he ever funny?
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: No, not really. My grandparents thought he was fucking hilarious.
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: I love Steve Urkel.
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: So I can.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: But in real life?
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: You'd hate that bastard.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: What is wrong with me?
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: Many, many things. Once again, we return to the therapy session.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: God.
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: I need help.
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: So, yeah, I can see.
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: Realizing you have a problem.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: I can see him going with one of the two, again,
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: go-to characters now. It would be either Jonah Hill or
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: Seth Rogen, who's lost a little of the weight. But, again,
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: if you go back early enough, John wasn't that heavy.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: It was only later that he started to be getting heavy.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: So, I don't know. I can see him going either
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: of those.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: Nice. That's what it will come to. I do like
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: that they threw Ethan Suplee in there. He's getting way
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: too old, too, but that would have been an interesting
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: way to go.
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: All right, let's see. We can round out the buzz
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: here with Reese, because back in the day, it was all.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: About some Reese.
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: I don't know. Her kid had an ugly butt.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: Yeah, well.
- 1:06:52Speaker 10: What?
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: Sadly, I know what you're talking about, because I've heard
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: you go off on this tangent before. I know what
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: you're talking about.
- 1:06:58Speaker 7: Go ahead. I don't know. Without the actual visual, it
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: doesn't have the same effect.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: Well, Google image search Reese Witherspoon kid's butt.
- 1:07:05Speaker 15: I don't know.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: How would you get about it? I don't know.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: I don't want to go to jail. Yeah, why don't
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: you guys all do that at home? I'm not going
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: to do that myself.
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: It's like from Vanity Fair, wasn't it?
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it was everywhere. And it was like a small child, and.
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: It just was like cottage cheese, and I'm not really
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: sure what the hell was going on, and it was just, yeah,
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: not good.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: Wasn't it her and Ryan, and they were like holding
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: the kid, and you saw his ass.
- 1:07:28Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: It was like his butt was facing the camera, and
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: I don't know. It was one of those, yeah.
- 1:07:33Speaker 7: Ryan Felipe used to be attractive, and not a jackass.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: He was cool back in the day. Yeah.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: That was my patronizing act. Yeah, doofus.
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: It confused me for your gay laugh for a second.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: No, that wasn't the gay laugh.
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: All right, Reese Witherspoon.
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: All right, so we're starting with Walk the Line, starring
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: Reese and Joaquin, and was arguably as much a biopic
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: about June Carter Cash as it was about Johnny, really,
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: when you stop and think about it, and possibly that's
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: why she won the Oscar for that role. Maybe you didn't.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: Yes, he didn't because he's crazy. I like him, though.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: But he's crazy. I wonder how his rap career is going.
- 1:08:14Speaker 8: Well, he has a cleft palate.
- 1:08:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: Still.
- 1:08:19Speaker 7: He's got enough money to get that shit fixed.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: No.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: They can never really fully.
- 1:08:23Speaker 8: Yeah, he can never fully.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: It's always kind of noticeable.
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: He's going to get a face transplant.
- 1:08:27Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 1:08:27Speaker 8: It doesn't bother me.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Take the facelift.
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: God, what a movie.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: That was cinematic genius. Oh, what are you talking about?
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: It was pure gold from the butts of Hollywood. What
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: are you, nuts?
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: Face off.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Who would have thought the two greatest actors in the
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: world would get together in a movie about ripping their
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: faces off?
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: You're on a roll today, sir.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: Fucking awesome.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: You said pure gold from the butts of Hollywood.
- 1:08:59Speaker 8: That's getting close.
- 1:09:00Speaker 11: On Facebook.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: Oh, shit. I saw that movie in the theater.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: It was awesome. Didn't John Woo direct that? Yes, he did.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: It had lots of John Woo doves flying around and
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: two pistols at the same time. People will not let
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: him live that one down. Oh, my God. John Woo,
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: I'm sorry. They mistranslated things to you. That's why you
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: didn't understand.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: Who's going to be in this movie?
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Great American actors, John Woo. The biggest America has. Oh, okay.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Sounds good to me.
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: They kind of were at the time, but it doesn't
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: save things.
- 1:09:32Speaker 10: So.
- 1:09:34Speaker 7: I hate Nick Cade. Anybody who knows me. Anybody who's
- 1:09:41Speaker 7: my friend on Facebook knows that I hate Nick Cade.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: And got involved in your bitch fest.
- 1:09:45Speaker 7: I did, dude. Fuck Nick Cade. Stupid ass.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Oh, Lord.
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: So now, Reese.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Back to Reese.
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: So now Reese Witherspoon has her eye on playing another
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: singer who rose to fame in the 40s, Peggy Lee.
- 1:10:03Speaker 8: Oh, I love Peggy Lee.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: Peggy Lee's pretty, I was listening to her earlier.
- 1:10:06Speaker 8: Do people really care about Peggy Lee?
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: No, but does Hollywood really care what people like?
- 1:10:10Speaker 8: Three of us here know who Peggy.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: But we're kind of weirdos, so.
- 1:10:14Speaker 8: We know who Peggy Lee is.
- 1:10:16Speaker 7: But Jay hates Reese Witherspoon.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: She has a troll face.
- 1:10:18Speaker 7: God, I can't stand it.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: I liked her back in the day. I've questioned her
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: projects more than anything else as the years.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Have gone on.
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: You want to get shot a whole bunch of times?
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I miss that.
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: Dude, I thought she was beautiful on freeway, but then
- 1:10:30Speaker 8: after that I was just like, I don't know why.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: See, I give her shit sometimes about not liking people
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: because of their face, but then I realize I'm the
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: exact same way. I'm just not as vocal about it.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: I keep it in my head.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: I keep it in my head. I'm like, I want
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: to take a brick to that fucking person's head.
- 1:10:45Speaker 7: But yet if I say it out loud, I have
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: anger management issues.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: Well, you do. I keep it in my head.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: I think we all do, actually. That's our breakthrough this week.
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: We all have anger management issues, and Marlena likes people
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: to hump her. That's what we take from this.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: I don't like it.
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: It just happens, okay? Leave me alone.
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: I got called out because I yelled at the guy
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: from that one show, that Ghost Hunter show. I was
- 1:11:05Speaker 7: yelling at him on the TV.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: Did he hear you?
- 1:11:10Speaker 16: No.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: But Jamie watched it.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: I didn't make you watch it. It was like two
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: seconds of the channel. He was chained to a wall.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: I was hoping a ghost would eat him or some shit.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: That would have been awesome. Yeah.
- 1:11:22Speaker 7: But you know it wasn't going to happen.
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: Well, next time you're at a convention, then you can
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: yell at him, and he will actually hear you.
- 1:11:27Speaker 8: I should have.
- 1:11:27Speaker 7: I should have beat the hell out of him. I
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: should have punched him in the neck when I had
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: the chance.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: You can take him.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: You know what? I'm going to walk away. You can
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: take him.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: What's his name again?
- 1:11:35Speaker 7: I hate that guy.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: Stupid hair? That's how you refer to him.
- 1:11:39Speaker 8: You know what show I do like? A Haunting. I
- 1:11:41Speaker 8: love that show.
- 1:11:42Speaker 7: Never seen it.
- 1:11:43Speaker 8: Amazing.
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: Oh, wow.
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: We're on Peggy Lee.
- 1:11:47Speaker 15: Peggy Lee.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: So, Peggy Lee.
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: Peggy Lee was a jazz singer who rose from obscurity
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: from her small town in North Dakota to have a
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: string of hits in the 40s, including Fever, which now
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: everybody in the free world has covered, Big Spender, Ma
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: Na Na, and Golden Earrings.
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: I love San Susi. That's one of my favorite songs.
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: Which one?
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: San Susi.
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: How's it go?
- 1:12:07Speaker 8: San Susi. Oh, San Susi.
- 1:12:11Speaker 7: Don't even sing.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: No.
- 1:12:14Speaker 12: I was just seeing if she'd go for it no
- 1:12:17Speaker 12: it's a tried to tell me I was evil tried
- 1:12:21Speaker 12: to trample on my soul never heard that song tried
- 1:12:24Speaker 12: to make me.
- 1:12:24Speaker 8: Think that they were righteous but the I don't know what.
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: She says we'll find out because we'll just go out
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: with that song alright so yeah she actually appeared in
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: movies at the time and did some voice work on
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: Lady and the Tramp which is awesome in it's own
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: right so the Disney one yeah She provided some of
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: the voices in Disney's Lady and the Tramp.
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: Oh, cool.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: Maybe she was a Siamese cat.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: Back when Disney films were cool.
- 1:12:51Speaker 10: Mm-hmm.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: So, yeah.
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: Peggy Lee actually continued performing well into the 90s, sometimes
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: in a wheelchair. So I don't know if they're going
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: to carry it all the way to.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: That's fucking dedication right there.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: That's a hardcore singer right there. You wheel yourself out
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: on stage. Shit. You know, that's... That's hardcore. And, you know,
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: you got to give it to the fans who still
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: keep coming out, even in a wheelchair. You don't need
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: to stand to sing. Fuck it.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: So she eventually, in 2002, died from complications of diabetes
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: and a heart attack. So I don't know if they're
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: going to follow up with that. So Reese is reportedly
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: the driving force behind this biopic and will secure the
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: rights with Fox.
- 1:13:30Speaker 7: She's shooting for another Oscar?
- 1:13:32Speaker 9: Is that what it is?
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: I guess, but this kind of worried me because they're
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: attaching to write it is Nora Ephron, who does kind
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: of lightweight. She's like Julie and Julia kind of stuff,
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: which is not really hard-hitting biopic material. So who knows?
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: Maybe she'll do it differently this time, but we'll have
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: to see.
- 1:13:52Speaker 8: Is that it?
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: We will at least throw in one of the interviews
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: I recently did. And at least you guys can, you
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: were there to witness the person, because I have to
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: go into my basic observation. This week's interview is with
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: William Ragsdale. God damn, he looked good. As we walked
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: past the table that first time, I was like, holy shit,
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: he hasn't aged. It's kind of frightening. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: like not, I mean, usually I'll call these people, and
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: I don't even call them out, because you get old.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: That's what happens.
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: I mean, shit, you see these people, and it's been,
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: 20 years since they've been in the movie you liked. So,
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: I mean, they're going to look older.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Like Rusty.
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: I'm kind of used to that. Yeah, I'm used to
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: seeing them and it's just, it's different, but it's okay.
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: That's life.
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: That's how shit goes. I don't really even call them
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: out for that. What I'll call William out for is
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: for not aging. holy shit like how is that possible
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: deal with the devil i think it might be because
- 1:14:44Speaker 4: i think he looks equally as young as he did
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: he might be.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: A dracula i saw death becomes her i know how
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: that shit happens.
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: Well it might i mean he was he was in
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: fright nights i mean maybe by the end of that
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: he actually got bit and now he's a dracula he is.
- 1:14:56Speaker 7: We didn't see him in the sun so we didn't
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: see him sparkle all i can think of is.
- 1:14:59Speaker 8: Rackham rack willie what.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: Racula some crackheads.
- 1:15:07Speaker 10: That there's this stupid thing on youtube they would give
- 1:15:09Speaker 10: him vodka and like feed him and make him say
- 1:15:12Speaker 10: crazy shit his name is rackham rack willie he died
- 1:15:15Speaker 10: recently very sad oh but he was i'm not even
- 1:15:18Speaker 10: gonna say it just just go to youtube and look
- 1:15:23Speaker 10: count racula or something it's very short it only takes
- 1:15:26Speaker 10: a second but it's funny this.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: Is why they'll let So, yeah, we luckily ran into
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: William there, and he was actually very cool and sat
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: down to do an interview with us. So let's see
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: what William has to say about his career. And, of course,
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: I did have to ask him about the mannequin sequel.
- 1:15:45Speaker 19: Oh, wow.
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: I could not. We were here with William Rexdale. Was
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: there a specific event that got you into performing early on?
- 1:15:54Speaker 12: Yes.
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: How long do you have, son?
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: I grew up in a small town in Arkansas, and
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: one of the things that they had there that not
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: all small towns have was a community theater that the
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: community would put on plays and all that stuff. And
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: I was very fortunate because it was really well-supported and creative,
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: and so that's what sort of got me into acting
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: when I was 10 or 11.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: How did it end up going towards film down the line?
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: Well, I sort of looked into making a living as
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: an actor and film and TV is sort of where
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: you have to do it. So I went to school
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: in California for an acting school and met some agents
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: and producers and people through that and then just ended
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: up getting into it.
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: I was looking back, I'd kind of forgotten about the
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: Mannequin movie.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: Is it one that you, did you know what you
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: were getting into?
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: I mean, being a sequel, did you know what you
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: were getting involved in?
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: I had a rough idea of it yeah I had
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: you know I knew what the basic story it was
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: sort of the same thing well now let's redo this
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: again or do it again you know but yeah with
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: even less sort of room to vary but yeah whatever
- 1:17:10Speaker 5: it was fun because I studied Shakespeare and stuff in
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: acting school so it was sort of a chance to
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: do like a little costume drama only for a portion
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: of the film but I enjoyed that It.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: Was Christy Swanson. That was kind of early in her career.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: Very early.
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: She was great.
- 1:17:25Speaker 11: She was great.
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: She's just a complete natural actor and just gorgeous on screen.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: She's so likable.
- 1:17:35Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: Looking back at some of her stuff, it's hard not
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: to like her.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: She was great in Buffy, too.
- 1:17:41Speaker 19: She was just wonderful.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: And never gets any credit for it.
- 1:17:44Speaker 16: No, no.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: Now the show is a blipstick.
- 1:17:46Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:17:47Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: When you went on to Herman's Head, I guess they
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: pitched the sort of gimmick of the show early on.
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: What did you think of that, the way that they
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: had it set up as a project? I liked it.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: I thought it was really original, and the way they
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: shot it was original. We actually shot both... the stuff
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: that went on in the office and the stuff inside
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: the head at the same time. So it was actually
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: two sets going at the same time, which had its challenges,
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: but worked really well for the audience.
- 1:18:22Speaker 8: And I enjoyed it.
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: I think it was one of those, I mean, you
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: guys had such good characters, really. It almost developed its
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: way out of that set piece. It almost didn't need
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: to have that. As time went on, you guys, the
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: characters within the office were so well-developed, it seemed like.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that it was always, the challenge was
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: always to figure out what to show, who to show,
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: and for how long, and.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: All of that.
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: But yeah, it was good.
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: Yeah, especially at Fox at that time, there was a
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: lot of hit and miss stuff.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: And you guys had a good group of writers, I think.
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: Yeah, great writers. They all went on to Seinfeld and
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: a number of good shows.
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: Did you have any new projects you wanted to tell
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: people about?
- 1:19:05Speaker 5: I'm working on a show now on FX called Justified,
- 1:19:08Speaker 5: which is... It takes place in Kentucky, and it's a
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: really good show, and it's been well-received, and we got
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: picked up for a second season, so hopefully we'll be
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: back for more.
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: Very cool.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: Thank you for talking to us.
- 1:19:23Speaker 7: He was pretty up close, as he was from far away.
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: That's the thing. You just saw him that first day.
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: The next day, I was actually sitting there like, a
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: foot away from him and I'm like damn he still
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: looks like even this close and and it doesn't look
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: like you know bad surgery close he just looks like
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: he hasn't aged he's got like prince disease or something
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: where you look good it's not due to surgery you
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: just didn't fucking age Well, good for him. More power
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: to him, because that's awesome. And he's actually co-starring, as
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: he said, co-starring the FX drama Justified. So I didn't realize.
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: I've been trying to get around to watching that. It
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: stars Timothy Oliphant, who we will not say is that
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: other guy this week, because Roger's not here. Roger gets
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: confused about Timothy Oliphant.
- 1:20:06Speaker 7: I like Timothy Oliphant.
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: So yeah, supposedly that's a pretty damn good show, and
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: William is on there every week, so check it out.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: And we will return to the other half of that
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: because immediately after that, I turned around and was sitting
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: equally as close to Amanda Burst.
- 1:20:25Speaker 7: Marcy Darcy.
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: I also had a special reaction to her. What I
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: said was that it was because I got to talk
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: to Roger Corman, as we all know, but I was like,
- 1:20:35Speaker 4: is it kind of sad that I was almost as
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: excited to talk to Marcy Darcy? She was awesome. So
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: we'll get to that one in a couple weeks here, so. Otherwise,
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: I guess that will wrap up part one here. Which
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: song are we going out on, Marlena?
- 1:20:51Speaker 8: San Susi.
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: All right. So, we will invite you.
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: Just have Marlena sing it out.
- 1:20:56Speaker 10: If I knew the whole thing, I would.
- 1:20:58Speaker 8: Just Google the lyrics.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:21:00Speaker 11: Okay.
- 1:21:01Speaker 7: You don't have to, really.
- 1:21:02Speaker 8: It's a really good song.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: Otherwise, we will invite you to come back and join
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: us for this week's Sofa Theater feature, Fright.
- 1:21:08Speaker 7: Yay.
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: Come back and join us.

- 1:21:15Speaker 10: My stupid phone won't let me post Facebook updates unless
- 1:21:18Speaker 10: there's a picture attached.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: It's stupid. Reese Witherspoon's baby's butt.
- 1:21:23Speaker 15: San Susi San Susi They got no room here for
- 1:21:38Speaker 15: someone like me.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Oh, the mountain starts to giggle when the springtime waters.
- 1:21:46Speaker 8: Wiggle down the mountainside.
- 1:21:51Speaker 17: I can hear the fishes swishing just as loud as
- 1:21:54Speaker 17: I am wishing when I hit the tide.
- 1:22:00Speaker 7: Go, go, go, go.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: Go, go, go, go.

- 1:22:46Speaker 17: think that they were righteous But the.
- 1:22:49Speaker 7: Cloth of a lie.
- 1:22:51Speaker 14: Was whole Go home, go, go Go home.
- 1:23:01Speaker 15: Go, go San Sisi San Sisi.

- 1:23:22Speaker 1: that love is walking and it ain't no dream.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: No, you ain't no dream.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Suns who see, you ain't no dream.
- 1:23:37Speaker 14: Go, go, go, go.
- 1:23:41Speaker 7: Go, go, go.
- 1:23:46Speaker 17: Fill your sails with all the laughing and talking that
- 1:23:50Speaker 17: used to be.
- 1:23:54Speaker 9: Go, go, go.
- 1:23:56Speaker 11: Go, go, go.
