  Speaker 2: seven freshmen on the team, and we started two sophomores,

  Speaker 2: three freshman Debbie Wendy Omega maybe and then Chris Lamb maybe.

  Speaker 2: I don't know, carrying certainly in Laura right, so maybe

  Speaker 2: Wendy did. I don't know. But anyway, it was such

  Speaker 2: a young team, you know, such a young team, and

  Speaker 2: they were so thrilled, so excited, and I remember that

  Speaker 2: I remember exactly how we felt. So it's it's funny

  Speaker 2: when CAV got the job and we were at the

  Speaker 2: Yukon Club golf outing or something for all the sponsors

  Speaker 2: and everything, other corporate sponsors, and I remember CAV being there,

  Speaker 2: and they asked me to say a few words, you know,

  Speaker 2: and I basically said that they have an opportunity to

  Speaker 2: be the new version of Yukon women's basketball, because you know,

  Speaker 2: we thought we could be successful because this is a

  Speaker 2: it was a basketball crazy place, and I thought men's
• 2:53
  Speaker 2: hockey had a chance to be really good because it's
• 2:56
  Speaker 2: Connecticut and it's a every kid plays ice hockey in Connecticut, right,

  Speaker 2: And then we got a ton of really good schools
• 3:04
  Speaker 2: that have hockey. We have a ton of prep schools
• 3:06
  Speaker 2: here that play hockey. You're in New England, you know
• 3:10
  Speaker 2: where there's a you know, a ton of great hockey programs.

  Speaker 2: So I thought, if they could get it going, you
• 3:15
  Speaker 2: know that. And they're in the best league in the country.

  Speaker 2: You know, when they got they got in the hockey'st
• 3:20
  Speaker 2: they were the best league in the country. So I

  Speaker 2: thought everything's in place, and little by little I know,

  Speaker 2: there's a lot of frustration along the way because they

  Speaker 2: would beat a lot of And I tell them this

  Speaker 2: all the time. I said Kat a few years ago,

  Speaker 2: if you only played teams in the top five in

  Speaker 2: the country, you guys would be in the NCAA Tournament

  Speaker 2: every year. You just can't help it. You guys lose

  Speaker 2: to teams that are not very good. So I love

  Speaker 2: it when you guys played BC and BU and you know,

  Speaker 2: all the whoever's in the top five, top ten in

  Speaker 2: the country. I love when you guys have one of

  Speaker 2: those games. And so when they got the new rink,

  Speaker 2: I thought, that's it. That's their gamble pavilion. You know,

  Speaker 2: that's their gamble pavilion, and that's going to put them

  Speaker 2: over to home. And as it turns out, you know,

  Speaker 2: since they built that building hasn't been too long, and

  Speaker 2: all of a sudden, the men's and women's hockey teams

  Speaker 2: are NCAA tournament teams. It's just it's incredible the way

  Speaker 2: it's happened. Then come on, if if they're playing in

  Speaker 2: the Big East Final at TV Garden, you know, in Boston,

  Speaker 2: and then there's an NCAA Tournament game, I don't know where.

  Speaker 2: I don't know if they would host the game. I

  Speaker 1: No, there's for a regional site, so they would be

  Speaker 1: on the road, but they could go regional. That's right.

  Speaker 2: There's only sixteen teams, that makes right, that's right.

  Speaker 1: How can that be because there's only like sixties, like

  Speaker 1: sixty hockey teams across the country to play college that's

  Speaker 1: why it's so small.

  Speaker 2: Well, but still, they're going to get six from the

  Speaker 2: Big East, I mean from the Hockey East East.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, at least five, at least five.

  Speaker 2: They're going to get five out of the sixteen. So yeah,

  Speaker 2: I hope they. I hope they they they're playing for

  Speaker 2: the Hockey East championship. And he's such a great guy,

  Speaker 2: and he's so he keeps everything in perspective. He doesn't

  Speaker 2: you know, he doesn't get up here. He doesn't get

  Speaker 2: He just has a great way about him. And and

  Speaker 2: it's funny because this may not be his most experienced

  Speaker 2: team or his most talented with big draft picks, you know,

  Speaker 2: like they lost the kid that got drafted by by Nashville, right,

  Speaker 2: he's the eleventh pick in the draft and he left

  Speaker 2: and they got better. So it goes to show you.

  Speaker 1: Right for sure. Well it says everything about how he

  Speaker 1: inspects doing what they've done leadership wise.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, uh yeah, I mean and then they

  Speaker 2: got it. You know, they got a couple of young

  Speaker 2: guys that I love watching play. You know, they uh

  Speaker 2: and I'll tell you what that they're quick as hell,

  Speaker 2: they're tough as hell. You know, they four check the

  Speaker 2: I mean, they're just there, a bunch of tough guys.
