- 0:00Speaker 1: It's a Mark Simon show live from the woor Life
- 0:04Speaker 1: Back studios from Miranda Divine, the greatest columnist around. You
- 0:11Speaker 1: can read her columns the New York Post website. They're
- 0:13Speaker 1: all up there, and make sure you get her books
- 0:16Speaker 1: best selling books, Get the Big Guy and Laptop from Hell.
- 0:20Speaker 1: And she does an incredible podcast called pod Force one.
- 0:25Speaker 1: She's interviewed anybody and everybody. The latest episode the President
- 0:29Speaker 1: of the United States. Listen to pod Force one her
- 0:32Speaker 1: interview with President Trump. You love it. And she's with
- 0:35Speaker 1: us now, Miranda Divine, how you doing.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I'm really well, Thanks Mark, How are.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You very good? Hey? That's Scott Pelly. Have you ever
- 0:44Speaker 1: seen You've been in the news business a long time.
- 0:46Speaker 1: You ever seen a bigger, more self important, pompous ass
- 0:49Speaker 1: than That's Scott.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Pelly, perfect description of him. No, I haven't, although I've
- 0:55Speaker 2: seen his type. He's the worst of the type. But
- 0:59Speaker 2: they do exist in television, as I'm sure you are.
- 1:02Speaker 2: A rare Mark, very very puffed up. They're incredibly important
- 1:07Speaker 2: and they're just talking heads, and honestly, they think they're
- 1:11Speaker 2: more important than the people they cover, which is a joke.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And he thought he was more important than his bosses.
- 1:17Speaker 2: And if anybody any of us, we all haven't bosses.
- 1:21Speaker 2: If any of us were to speak to our bosses
- 1:23Speaker 2: the way he did, we would expect to be fired.
- 1:27Speaker 2: So he claimed to The New York Times, and he
- 1:30Speaker 2: was absolutely shocked that he got fired. But I thinking
- 1:35Speaker 2: was he just embarked on a suicide mission. But honestly,
- 1:38Speaker 2: that New York Times interview, I'm glad they video taped
- 1:41Speaker 2: it because he was so insufferable, crying, weeping, calling himself
- 1:48Speaker 2: a combat secteran, I've been in combat in a rock
- 1:53Speaker 2: and I've got a stone, or I'd like to shoot
- 1:55Speaker 2: the president. I've been shot at, like the President's also
- 1:58Speaker 2: been shot at in alive. Not as a germanist. We
- 2:03Speaker 2: have so many Germalists, chutless journalists, including me, has been
- 2:08Speaker 2: to was Ourn, to Iraq, to Afghanistan, et cetera. And
- 2:14Speaker 2: like I don't regard myself as having been in combat.
- 2:19Speaker 2: It was looked after the whole way as he would
- 2:22Speaker 2: have been by actual soldiers, actual special forces. Essays, people
- 2:28Speaker 2: who are in combat and have the guns they protect
- 2:32Speaker 2: us like the band.
- 2:35Speaker 1: That's a good point. You're right, he's never been nobody
- 2:38Speaker 1: ever actually aimed at Scott Belly. President Trump actually got
- 2:41Speaker 1: hit in the head with a book that was aimed
- 2:42Speaker 1: with him. But when he said, I couldn't believe they'd
- 2:47Speaker 1: fire me. As how he car pointed out the news
- 2:50Speaker 1: business has a higher death rate than the mafia. People
- 2:53Speaker 1: get fired all the time.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Fecally. And tell me when you're earning. Of course you're earning.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Was it ten million dollars a year or something? In
- 3:00Speaker 2: to Bosters, Yeah, you know, I think I think it
- 3:05Speaker 2: was Klay Travis who pointed out that the raison sixty
- 3:08Speaker 2: Minutes does well is because it's got the football leading
- 3:11Speaker 2: into it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Yeah. If you separate the again, the episodes without the
- 3:16Speaker 1: football thing, the rains are terrible. So hey, meet the press.
- 3:21Speaker 1: That Kristen Walker is another one that's delusional. You can't
- 3:23Speaker 1: interrupt the president like that and scream at him and
- 3:25Speaker 1: think he's going to stay. What's wrong with her?
- 3:29Speaker 2: Well, look, you know it's interesting because I just interviewed
- 3:32Speaker 2: the President the week before and I got much more
- 3:37Speaker 2: news out of what she did. He actually broke stories
- 3:42Speaker 2: in my interview, and I don't think any story was
- 3:46Speaker 2: broken apart from the in her interview. Apart from the
- 3:49Speaker 2: fact that he walked off the set. That was the
- 3:50Speaker 2: big news. So you get much more information by being
- 3:56Speaker 2: respectful and plized and persistent and asking the right question.
- 4:01Speaker 2: She did none of that, and instead she felt it
- 4:05Speaker 2: was her right or her duty or something to disagree
- 4:09Speaker 2: and say that everything he said was not correct, and
- 4:14Speaker 2: like she got into an argument with him about the magic.
- 4:19Speaker 2: She was saying to him, like on felons that are
- 4:22Speaker 2: basically accepted now as reality, like that the twenty twenty
- 4:28Speaker 2: election was dodgy. There was something out about it. It
- 4:31Speaker 2: was rigged. Molly Hemingway wrote a whole book about it,
- 4:35Speaker 2: and we're seeing it now in California. It might be legal,
- 4:40Speaker 2: but it's not right. It's not kosher, and it's only
- 4:45Speaker 2: legal because Democrats changed the rules to suit themselves in California,
- 4:49Speaker 2: and that they did during COVID in twenty twenty. We
- 4:51Speaker 2: saw that all over the country. So there was something
- 4:54Speaker 2: wrong with that election, obviously, and the Russia hopes that's
- 4:59Speaker 2: all been and until later and rest so much to
- 5:03Speaker 2: what she was pushing back on him for is like
- 5:08Speaker 2: it was a hoax. Now we've had new evidence, we
- 5:11Speaker 2: understand the president was right from the beginning, and she's
- 5:14Speaker 2: still living back in I don't know, twenty twenty land,
- 5:17Speaker 2: where everything the president says is wrong. He won an
- 5:21Speaker 2: election because the majority of the American people believed that
- 5:25Speaker 2: he had been wronged, that he was a victim of
- 5:28Speaker 2: law fair, that Joe Biden lied and was not what
- 5:31Speaker 2: he pretended to be, That they opened the border. All
- 5:35Speaker 2: the whole things were the scales coming off the eyes
- 5:41Speaker 2: of the American voter, and they realized that Donald Trump
- 5:44Speaker 2: had told the truth. And Kristin Welker obviously didn't vote
- 5:48Speaker 2: for him, but she's just closed to right. She lives
- 5:52Speaker 2: like they all do, in a bubble where the only
- 5:55Speaker 2: news they get is from their own little circle of lives.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Well, Miranda Devine just interviewed President Trump. You should listen
- 6:03Speaker 1: to her podcast, pod Force one. The latest episode A
- 6:08Speaker 1: long interview with President Trump. Fascinating. Now you've interviewed him,
- 6:11Speaker 1: of course before many times. What did you notice about
- 6:14Speaker 1: him this time around? It He seemed as fired up
- 6:18Speaker 1: and as as happy in office as usual.
- 6:23Speaker 2: He seemed less lighthearted, more serious. He called himself a
- 6:28Speaker 2: wartime president. Obviously that responsibility ways not here. But he
- 6:34Speaker 2: was extraordinarily as a loose business like efficient, you know,
- 6:41Speaker 2: like his time is precious, and more so now because
- 6:44Speaker 2: he's so busy, full of energy, very focused, very sharp,
- 6:50Speaker 2: sharper than he was the last few times. I mean,
- 6:53Speaker 2: he's sharp, but he was really like ranging and serious.
- 6:59Speaker 2: So so you know, he's still a few few of
- 7:01Speaker 2: his like I don't even know if he means to joke,
- 7:05Speaker 2: but he's so humorous with some of the things he says.
- 7:08Speaker 2: But he still has that you know, Queen's sense of humor.
- 7:12Speaker 2: And but yeah, I mean, and it was just astonishing
- 7:15Speaker 2: to me that I just you know, I spent an
- 7:18Speaker 2: hour sitting opposite him, and he was like answered every
- 7:22Speaker 2: question from all over the shop, and he was on
- 7:26Speaker 2: top of every issue. He knew what was going on
- 7:29Speaker 2: right down to you know, like energy, geopolitics and the
- 7:35Speaker 2: war and the emittigritty of who's who in Iran and Israel,
- 7:40Speaker 2: and you know, he has called witch world leaders like
- 7:43Speaker 2: Natmiyahu right down to you know, who's who in the
- 7:47Speaker 2: zoo in the main Senate rate and how that's going
- 7:50Speaker 2: and Graham Plattner being a major s leeds bag and
- 7:53Speaker 2: James Tallarico being even worse than saying he's a vegan
- 7:56Speaker 2: in Texas. That doesn't work. You know, he's just he's
- 8:00Speaker 2: got it all. It's amazing how verse Telly is. But
- 8:03Speaker 2: he's doing the UFC, the FIFA Football World plucks coming up.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Just come out of a meeting with the boss of
- 8:10Speaker 2: the FIFA and introduced me to him. And he's got
- 8:14Speaker 2: bad He's got the Olympics, he's got terrorism like King's
- 8:17Speaker 2: got it all in his head. The ballroom, the beautification
- 8:20Speaker 2: of Washington, DC at thirty fountains and statues and you
- 8:25Speaker 2: know they're reflecting pool. But he's so proud of and
- 8:27Speaker 2: that he's driving like he's on top of those contractors
- 8:31Speaker 2: to make sure they're finished on time, on budget and
- 8:34Speaker 2: do a great job. So he doesn't sleep it manages
- 8:38Speaker 2: to keep all those balls in the air, and he
- 8:40Speaker 2: does it really well and very effectively. And so it
- 8:44Speaker 2: just amazed me coming out of that interview to see
- 8:48Speaker 2: Ted lu the Democrat representative, grilling Micro Rubio on the
- 8:54Speaker 2: hill about Donald Trump the cognitive to climb like the
- 8:59Speaker 2: old Donald Trump's letts a sleep in meetings, and Marco goes, well,
- 9:02Speaker 2: I was in that meeting setting right next to him,
- 9:04Speaker 2: and he didn't call a set and so what if
- 9:07Speaker 2: he digs all asleep, like you know, he's sleep it's
- 9:12Speaker 2: like four hours a night. He writes his own truth socials.
- 9:15Speaker 2: In the middle of the night, he's calling. Marco Rubio said,
- 9:18Speaker 2: he calls me at two am. Then he calls me
- 9:20Speaker 2: at five am. It's exhausting for me. And he's like,
- 9:23Speaker 2: what thirty years younger than the premile so or twenty five?
- 9:27Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean jd Vance gets exhausted by him
- 9:31Speaker 2: and he's barely forty. You know. Marco Rudio talked about
- 9:36Speaker 2: the Air Force one with Donald Trump traveling into overseas
- 9:41Speaker 2: and you know, everyone's trying to get a bit of
- 9:43Speaker 2: shut eye, and Trump's like roaming around trying to find
- 9:47Speaker 2: someone who's awake that he can talk to. And Ruby
- 9:49Speaker 2: is they're like hardening under the blanket.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Well, hey, Miranda Divine, you're an expert. How to put
- 9:56Speaker 1: out a best selling book, how to launch a book,
- 9:59Speaker 1: how to promote a book. How would you rate Jill
- 10:02Speaker 1: Biden as a book promoting author?
- 10:06Speaker 2: Well, isn't it funny? She should be doing really well?
- 10:09Speaker 2: But her book, well, last I looked through yesterday, it
- 10:13Speaker 2: was languishing at forty two on Amazon, which is you know,
- 10:17Speaker 2: it's not the makings of a best seller when you've
- 10:19Speaker 2: just she just launched on Tuesday, so you think at
- 10:24Speaker 2: that stage, my first book like Shot from Hell, was
- 10:27Speaker 2: number one on Amazon, so it's not going to be
- 10:30Speaker 2: as the bestseller. But I will tell you one thing.
- 10:32Speaker 2: She will probably get on the New York Times Bestseller
- 10:35Speaker 2: list because they have some secret algorithms, some formula they use,
- 10:41Speaker 2: which means that conservative books and broke Trump books books
- 10:45Speaker 2: or books by people who have don't have Trump derangement
- 10:48Speaker 2: syndrome don't get on their list, but Trump deranged books
- 10:53Speaker 2: always make it, even if they sell a handful. So
- 10:56Speaker 2: no doubt she will make the New York Times Bestseller Lit.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so apparently the first two weeks at June are
- 11:02Speaker 1: the lowest book sales ever of the year, so you
- 11:05Speaker 1: don't have to sell too many books at this point,
- 11:07Speaker 1: at this period to get to that.
- 11:10Speaker 2: That's exactly the point is that you know it's easy
- 11:14Speaker 2: to get to number one in June because you've got
- 11:16Speaker 2: no competition, And she's at number forty two, and she
- 11:20Speaker 2: may be lower today. I haven't looked, and so she
- 11:23Speaker 2: needs Joe. But she's wheeled out four old Joe to
- 11:28Speaker 2: do like tiktops for her and gate crash for a
- 11:31Speaker 2: bed that she had in the ninety second rye. The
- 11:34Speaker 2: other night in new book at you know, he's not
- 11:39Speaker 2: quite he's pretty, not quite fair, but he's sharp enough.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I always tell people Wiley like a fox, and just
- 11:48Speaker 2: like this Robert Hurt when he's give me on her
- 11:50Speaker 2: Anthony's Western, we put on the elderly man who's a
- 11:54Speaker 2: poor memory stick whereas he wants to. He's can be
- 11:59Speaker 2: sharp and he looks like a doddering old fool when
- 12:02Speaker 2: he was knowing at the audience which you got on
- 12:05Speaker 2: the stage, but saying, you know, who do you love
- 12:07Speaker 2: more than anyone in the whole wide world. But he
- 12:11Speaker 2: also made sure felt the media live book's coming out
- 12:15Speaker 2: in September, and to me, knowing the Bidens as I do,
- 12:19Speaker 2: that was like a Machios threat to his own party.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Because the Democrats are absolutely sick of the Bisons. They
- 12:27Speaker 2: are trashing Jill Biden all we're all give Barma Bros
- 12:30Speaker 2: on their podcast all the forumner like I in Delegates,
- 12:35Speaker 2: they're trashing Jill and saying how dare you? How selfish?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Are you to dredge this all up when we're right
- 12:42Speaker 2: front of the midterm and we want to forget about
- 12:45Speaker 2: the bad old days of blow Biden's residency and don't
- 12:49Speaker 2: thank them. Hey, layout my wife, because my book's coming
- 12:53Speaker 2: out in September. Of course, all the Democrats critics come up,
- 12:56Speaker 2: Oh no, no, he's wrong, it's not September. It's a
- 12:58Speaker 2: different day. You know, surely he wouldn't do that just
- 13:01Speaker 2: before the midterms. Wouldn't out for Benjis because they rubbed
- 13:08Speaker 2: him out and he thought he could do a second term.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Well, hey, Miranda Divine, brilliant as always. I wish we
- 13:14Speaker 1: had more time, but everybody go listen to our podcast,
- 13:17Speaker 1: pod Force. Won the latest episode with Donald Trump. Brilliant interview.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Get her columns at the New York Post website, and
- 13:23Speaker 1: get her book, The Big Guy. It's the best book
- 13:25Speaker 1: ever on Joe Biden. Miranda Divine, great stuff. Thanks for
- 13:29Speaker 1: viewing with us.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Thanks so much.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Man, take care. Hey, you know, Curtis is back. Every morning.
- 13:35Speaker 1: It's Curtis Leewa and Larry Minti every morning six to
- 13:38Speaker 1: ten on seven ten wor
