- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:03Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Playfake, go to roll right, dumps it off into the
- 0:06Speaker 2: right flat to Michael Bumpers, who bounces off of one
- 0:09Speaker 2: tackler catch inside the forty down of the forty five
- 0:12Speaker 2: yard line. Powered by seahawks dot Com. Matt pumpfakes looking
- 0:15Speaker 2: at the gold line. He throws it into the end zone. Touchdown, Sahawks.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's Michael Buffas with a diving catch in the end zone,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid
- 0:26Speaker 1: out of Washington State has found himself a.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Place on this team. Now here's your host, Nasa Chobee.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:36Speaker 1: The Seahawks getting ready to take on the New York
- 0:38Speaker 1: Jets from the Big Apple Seahawks. Rolling into week thirteen,
- 0:42Speaker 1: we are broadcasting live from the Seahawks Podcast Studio presented
- 0:45Speaker 1: by Sony, the official partner.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Of the Seattle Seahawks.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Bump the Seahawks taking a trip across the country to
- 0:53Speaker 1: take on Aaron Rodgers in the New York Jet East Coast.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Son Now on paper were and again into all the matchup,
- 1:00Speaker 1: all this stuff on paper, this looks like a game
- 1:02Speaker 1: the Sea Auction win.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Man, I'm almost reluctant to say it, but you know what,
- 1:06Speaker 3: to be great, you must embrace the greatness and set
- 1:09Speaker 3: expectations and meet those expectations. Right, So the expectation now
- 1:13Speaker 3: is that they win this ballgame because of what they've
- 1:15Speaker 3: shown over the last win three or four weeks, and
- 1:17Speaker 3: what the Jets have shown all year.
- 1:19Speaker 1: So yeah, let's get this done again. You're right, I
- 1:22Speaker 1: never want to look ahead or do all that stuff.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Because the Jets have a lot of good players. We're
- 1:25Speaker 1: going get into every one of those talents and why
- 1:27Speaker 1: they're good. But this is the game the Sea Auction win,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and we will spend the next thirty minutes telling you
- 1:32Speaker 1: why that is the case.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Let's get into those Jets. What's on tap? What's on tap?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Three in eight record, third place in the AFC East.
- 1:43Speaker 1: They're not in last. The New England Patriots are actually
- 1:45Speaker 1: in the last place.
- 1:46Speaker 2: That's tough.
- 1:47Speaker 1: They have lost to the Niners, the Broncos, the Vikings,
- 1:50Speaker 1: the Bills, the Steelers, the Patriots, the Cardinals, and the Colts.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And you said it, it's been a rough year.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Let's call like it is then all the hype Aaron
- 1:58Speaker 1: Rodgers comes back. Everyone coming into the season was talking
- 2:01Speaker 1: about them being a potential contender in the AFC Super Bowl.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I'll drinking to kool aid. I was right there with him, like,
- 2:07Speaker 3: look at his roster, why wouldn't they.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Be And it didn't really go that way.
- 2:10Speaker 1: So they start off two and one and things were
- 2:12Speaker 1: going okay, but guess what, They've lost seven of their
- 2:14Speaker 1: last eight games, which included a five game losing streak.
- 2:17Speaker 1: To make matters worse, they fired their head coach, Robert
- 2:19Speaker 1: Sall after a two and three start. Then defensive coordinator
- 2:22Speaker 1: Jeff Albrich took over as interim. Hasn't had been much
- 2:25Speaker 1: better luck. They're one to five with him at the helm.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Then things not even worse. They decided to get rid
- 2:30Speaker 1: of their general manager, Joe Douglas after week eleven. So
- 2:33Speaker 1: it's safe to say things did not go the way
- 2:35Speaker 1: everyone anticipated they would go.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Even though they do have the talent.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Like Aaron Rodgers or Breist Hall, Garrett Wilson, DeVante Adams,
- 2:41Speaker 1: DJ Reedzace Gardner, all these players bump However, it is
- 2:45Speaker 1: still not going their way. They're three to eight, but
- 2:47Speaker 1: The one thing that did happen for them is they
- 2:49Speaker 1: will have a bye week heading into the Seahawks game
- 2:51Speaker 1: on Sunday. But last time out, Bump, it was a
- 2:54Speaker 1: heartbreaker for those Jets.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah it was man.
- 2:56Speaker 3: They lost in them Colts and Anthony Riches and maybe
- 2:58Speaker 3: he made his returns lineup and he didn't disappoint. They're
- 3:02Speaker 3: trailing twenty seven to twenty two. With two forty one
- 3:04Speaker 3: left in the game. Richardson led the coach right down
- 3:07Speaker 3: the field sixth place seventy yards, ending with a Richison
- 3:10Speaker 3: finding the end zone with a four yard touchdown in
- 3:12Speaker 3: a game winning touchdown.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Richardson was three for three on that drive for sixty yards.
- 3:16Speaker 3: The Jets got the ball back with forty sixcess seconds
- 3:19Speaker 3: left training trailing twenty eight to twenty seven, but Aaron
- 3:22Speaker 3: Rodgers was sacked twice and the Colts held on to victory.
- 3:25Speaker 3: After being benched two weeks prime, Richardson had his best
- 3:28Speaker 3: NFL game twenty of thirty two hundred and seventy two
- 3:30Speaker 3: yards in a touchdown, ran for thirty two yards and
- 3:33Speaker 3: two scores on ten carries.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Nice to see him bounce back. I'm glad.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Look when they first bnched him. I'm thinking, what are
- 3:39Speaker 3: they doing. They're putting him on time out. Let the
- 3:42Speaker 3: young rookie kind of go out there, sink or swim.
- 3:44Speaker 3: But they benched him because he tapped out, and you know,
- 3:47Speaker 3: so you had to send a message to the team.
- 3:48Speaker 2: But they didn't give up on him. I appreciate that.
- 3:51Speaker 3: On the other side, Aaron Rodgers had an ok day,
- 3:53Speaker 3: totaling two or twenty nine one hundred and eighty four
- 3:55Speaker 3: yards two touchdowns, but the Jets had a brutal start,
- 4:00Speaker 3: not getting a first down until their sixth offensive possession.
- 4:03Speaker 3: They did score twenty seconds left in a twenty second
- 4:06Speaker 3: half points and took the lead late before giving up
- 4:09Speaker 3: the game winning drive. Devonte Adams six receptions, seventy two yards,
- 4:13Speaker 3: Breeze Hall one hundred and twenty one total yards and
- 4:15Speaker 3: two touchdowns. This doesn't make sense to me how bad
- 4:18Speaker 3: the Jets are. They've made all the changes. You get
- 4:21Speaker 3: rid of your head coach, you get rid of the
- 4:22Speaker 3: offensive coordinator, you get rid of your GM. So they
- 4:25Speaker 3: believe there's something wrong with a process and not the
- 4:27Speaker 3: actual product that's on the field. Maybe they fix some things,
- 4:30Speaker 3: hopefully not this week. Yeah, man, it doesn't make sense.
- 4:33Speaker 3: You're right, because they have a ton of good athletes
- 4:36Speaker 3: and roster. But Robert saw was a great coach.
- 4:38Speaker 1: He was here in Seattle, then he goes down to
- 4:40Speaker 1: San Francisco and is a great defensive coordinator. It just
- 4:42Speaker 1: didn't work out for them. Obviously a lot of other
- 4:44Speaker 1: factors behind the scenes, but for whatever reason, the Jets
- 4:47Speaker 1: are what they are in the NFL. You are what
- 4:49Speaker 1: your record is, and their record is three and eight.
- 4:51Speaker 1: When we look into deeper into the numbers, let's take
- 4:53Speaker 1: a look at the head to head comparison Seahawks and Jets.
- 4:57Speaker 2: It took the offense.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Seahawks have the twelve rank off averaging three hundred and
- 5:01Speaker 1: forty six yards per game running offense and number you
- 5:03Speaker 1: don't love to see. They're twenty eighth in the NFL
- 5:06Speaker 1: at eighty nine pass offense or number two in the
- 5:08Speaker 1: league two fifty seven. In points per game, they are
- 5:10Speaker 1: fifteenth at twenty two. On the flip side, for the Jets,
- 5:13Speaker 1: they are twenty seventh in total offense, averaging two ninety
- 5:16Speaker 1: four a game, thirtieth in run offense, worse than the
- 5:19Speaker 1: Seahawks eighty seven yards per game, eighteenth in the air
- 5:23Speaker 1: two hundred and seven yards and then eighteenth twenty seventh
- 5:27Speaker 1: averaging eighteen points per game. So offensively, while the Seahawks
- 5:31Speaker 1: don't run the ball as well as the Jets do,
- 5:33Speaker 1: the Seahawks are definitely a lot higher up in the
- 5:35Speaker 1: rankings and it definitely shows with the record, Yeah, it does.
- 5:39Speaker 3: And then defensively, what the Jets do the best combats
- 5:43Speaker 3: what the Hawks do the best. Hawks are the number
- 5:45Speaker 3: two throwing offense, Jets are the number two passing defense,
- 5:48Speaker 3: So we'll see what that matchup looks like. Overall, the
- 5:51Speaker 3: Jets are number eight when it comes to total defense,
- 5:55Speaker 3: giving up three hundred and five yards per game. The
- 5:57Speaker 3: Hawks twenty run defense, Jets twenty second third pass defense.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Just mentioned that for the Jets or second, the Hawks
- 6:04Speaker 3: fifteenth in points allowed, the Jets are thirteenth and the
- 6:07Speaker 3: Hawks are fourteen. Time of possession is the same. There
- 6:10Speaker 3: are a lot of similarities here. The strengths match the weaknesses. Overall,
- 6:15Speaker 3: on paper, it's set up to be a good game,
- 6:17Speaker 3: but again you have to look at the film and
- 6:19Speaker 3: break things down and see what's going on with this
- 6:21Speaker 3: Jets team and how this Hawks team has been playing
- 6:23Speaker 3: so far. What this tells me is that the Jets
- 6:25Speaker 3: are capable, according to numbers, to put up a fight.
- 6:29Speaker 3: You never go into a game thinking a team is
- 6:31Speaker 3: just gonna lay down and let you walk into their
- 6:33Speaker 3: house and win a ball game.
- 6:35Speaker 2: They have personnel to make this interesting.
- 6:38Speaker 3: But collectively, over the year, they haven't been performing the
- 6:41Speaker 3: way that teams have hoped or if they have hoped,
- 6:43Speaker 3: and as of late, the Hawks have been playing some
- 6:45Speaker 3: good ball.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah no, it's definitely a game where if the Seahawks
- 6:47Speaker 1: play the way they're supposed to, you think they'd have
- 6:49Speaker 1: the advantage. But to your point, you don't have the
- 6:51Speaker 1: number two passing defenses late in the year by accident, right,
- 6:55Speaker 1: or the eighth beens defense overall by accident. They have
- 6:57Speaker 1: some dogs on that side of the ball, which we
- 6:59Speaker 1: will talk about here in a second.
- 7:01Speaker 2: But these teams, they don't play every once in a while.
- 7:03Speaker 2: They play about every four years or so. Let's know
- 7:05Speaker 2: the history, No, your history.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Seahawks lead the all time series thirteen to eight. Hawks
- 7:11Speaker 1: have won the last five matchups dating back to two
- 7:14Speaker 1: thousand and eight.
- 7:14Speaker 3: That's a good year. I was yeah four and twelve
- 7:17Speaker 3: that year. One of those last was against the Jets.
- 7:20Speaker 1: The last time the Seahawks played the Jets was at
- 7:22Speaker 1: Luominfield here in twenty twenty two. They won twenty three
- 7:25Speaker 1: to six in Week seventeen. This helped the Seahawks get
- 7:28Speaker 1: back to the playoffs, as they won their last two
- 7:30Speaker 1: games of that season and got some help from Detroit
- 7:32Speaker 1: to get in as a wild card. This game also
- 7:34Speaker 1: completed the personal suite for Gino Smith. Gino beat all
- 7:38Speaker 1: his former teams in twenty twenty two, his first year
- 7:40Speaker 1: fully starting for the Seahawks, which was cool. Got a
- 7:42Speaker 1: boy beat the Chargers, beat the Giants and the Jets
- 7:45Speaker 1: in that game. He didn't put up a ton of
- 7:47Speaker 1: big numbers, but he was very efficient eighteen of twenty
- 7:50Speaker 1: nine one to eighty three two touchdowns. Ken Walker had
- 7:53Speaker 1: his second highest total in his career with one hundred
- 7:55Speaker 1: and thirty three yards on twenty three carries. So hoping
- 7:57Speaker 1: to see some more of that come Sunday. And then
- 8:00Speaker 1: tight ends had a great day. Kobe Parkinson and Tyler
- 8:02Speaker 1: Maybury caught touchdown passes. That was the first Aby only
- 8:05Speaker 1: touchdown pass for Tyer Aby, so I was definitely hyped
- 8:08Speaker 1: about that.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And yeah, the Seahawks.
- 8:10Speaker 1: They played well that game at home, so hopefully they
- 8:12Speaker 1: can keep that mojo rolling as they take on the
- 8:15Speaker 1: Jets on the road. But before we get to the
- 8:17Speaker 1: Jets and the Manda Man matchups, let's figure out what's
- 8:19Speaker 1: going on in the division.
- 8:20Speaker 2: What's the word and the Seahawks? So the NFC West
- 8:27Speaker 2: champs again, what's the word? In the west On Hawk top?
- 8:33Speaker 3: The Seahawks sitting on top at six and five of
- 8:36Speaker 3: the NFC West. Arizona Cardinals are six and five, but
- 8:38Speaker 3: there's something called a tie breaker and guess what the
- 8:41Speaker 3: Hawks have that could you beat the Cardinals straight up?
- 8:43Speaker 2: Last week?
- 8:44Speaker 3: The Rams are five and six, the Niners are five
- 8:46Speaker 3: and six. It's still a tight race. Ain't nothing guaranteed.
- 8:49Speaker 3: It's still till you gotta be on point. But man,
- 8:51Speaker 3: it's crazy what a couple of weeks do for you.
- 8:53Speaker 3: A couple weeks ago, where we're down in the dumps,
- 8:55Speaker 3: we're feeling like who knows where this team is going?
- 8:57Speaker 3: But they take care of business against divisional opponents, which
- 9:00Speaker 3: is key.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Imagine if one.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Play goes the right way against the Rams, you would
- 9:04Speaker 3: be undefeated against the division. But you know what, we're
- 9:07Speaker 3: over that. Ye, you're in first place for you at
- 9:09Speaker 3: six and five. All right, let's talk about the the
- 9:11Speaker 3: Niners and Packers game.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Man.
- 9:13Speaker 3: After the loss to the Seahawks, things have gone from
- 9:15Speaker 3: bad to worse for the defending NFC champs. Last Sunday,
- 9:19Speaker 3: you have to travel to Green Bay take on a
- 9:21Speaker 3: tough Packers team without starting quarterback Rock Perdy, starting left
- 9:24Speaker 3: tackle Tren Williams, and without the man Nick Bosa. But
- 9:28Speaker 3: as we know, nobody will feel bad for you. In
- 9:30Speaker 3: this league, no one cares. Next man up. You gotta
- 9:33Speaker 3: show up and you gotta perform. They mess up though,
- 9:35Speaker 3: didn't take care of the football. We know when the
- 9:37Speaker 3: Niners turned the football over, it's all bad. They turned
- 9:39Speaker 3: it over three times, committed nine penalties, and missed a
- 9:42Speaker 3: bunch of tackles.
- 9:43Speaker 2: And there's a man, Josh Jacobs, who had himself a
- 9:45Speaker 2: good game. Oh yeah, ran all over them boys. He rushed.
- 9:48Speaker 1: This is a crazy stat about that game. Jacobs became
- 9:51Speaker 1: the first player in the past fifty five regular season
- 9:54Speaker 1: games to rush for one hundred yards against the forty
- 9:57Speaker 1: nine Ers. It was the longest a team had gone
- 9:59Speaker 1: without allow one hundred yard rusher since nineteen fifty five
- 10:04Speaker 1: and Jacob's with one hundred and six yards on twenty
- 10:06Speaker 1: six carries with a three touchdowns. So, man, you know
- 10:09Speaker 1: you're doing something when the Niners had not fifty five
- 10:11Speaker 1: games a long time to give up, to not give up.
- 10:14Speaker 3: If you told me that before the podcast, I'd be like, Ah,
- 10:17Speaker 3: you're lying.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I would not believe you.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean, for context, it's only been a couple games
- 10:21Speaker 1: for the Yeah, so you're roping about fifty five some man,
- 10:27Speaker 1: that's nuts.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Without party out there, the forty nine has turned to
- 10:30Speaker 3: their backup Brandon Allen at QB, who had a just
- 10:34Speaker 3: ten career starts and hadn't started a game since twenty
- 10:37Speaker 3: twenty one. He finished seventeen to twenty nine with a
- 10:39Speaker 3: buck ninety nine, one touchdown in one interception. Christian McCaffrey,
- 10:43Speaker 3: this ain't right. Only thirty one yards and eleven carries.
- 10:46Speaker 3: You can tell he's easing into it. When they played
- 10:48Speaker 3: against the Hawks, I saw that he didn't seem right.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Wasn't putting his foot in the ground the way that
- 10:52Speaker 3: he's used to doing it.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It just is he doesn't look healthy.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, first of all, took you, like we
- 10:57Speaker 1: said many times in this podcast. He had to go
- 10:59Speaker 1: to German you try to chiure out what's going on.
- 11:01Speaker 1: So there he's he's probably not right, and it kind
- 11:04Speaker 1: of shows with how they're playing because McCaffrey that you
- 11:06Speaker 1: look at those numbers, eleven carries thirty one yards.
- 11:08Speaker 2: That's not Christian mccawn now whatsoever.
- 11:11Speaker 1: The one bright spot George Kittle did return to the
- 11:13Speaker 1: lineup after missing the Seahawks game. He let all receivers
- 11:16Speaker 1: six receptions eighty yards and one touchdown Jordan Love thirteen
- 11:19Speaker 1: or twenty three one sixty three two touchdowns as the
- 11:22Speaker 1: Packers blew out them forty nine ers thirty eight to ten,
- 11:26Speaker 1: and Bumba does not get easier forty nine ers. They
- 11:28Speaker 1: traveled the Buffalo to face the Bills on Sunday night
- 11:32Speaker 1: football like.
- 11:33Speaker 3: The go Bill. I get to watch that, you know,
- 11:35Speaker 3: you get to watch that. We got an early game
- 11:37Speaker 3: on Sunday. Oh yeah, and we get to watch this
- 11:38Speaker 3: go down.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I can't wait for this one. Then the Eagles
- 11:41Speaker 2: in the Rams Seahawks is getting held from all over.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You need lovetimes. It takes a village. Now we talk
- 11:47Speaker 1: about good games. Josh Jacobs did something the Niners hadn't
- 11:50Speaker 1: given up for fifty five games. Then there's another little
- 11:53Speaker 1: guy called Saquon Barkley. Heard of him, Giants fans Barkley anyway,
- 11:59Speaker 1: he's single handedly He ran all over the Los Angeles Rams.
- 12:02Speaker 1: He rush for two hundred and fifty five yards on
- 12:05Speaker 1: twenty six carries, two touchdowns. He had touchdown runs of
- 12:08Speaker 1: seventy two and seventy bump.
- 12:11Speaker 2: The Philadelphia Eagles.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Have been around a long time, and that's the most
- 12:15Speaker 1: yards anyone has ever ran for in that uniform.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that's impressive. I forget who the analyst was saying,
- 12:22Speaker 3: Nick right is the guy.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I believe Fox? Yeah, he said I was.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Obviously the phone listens to you and it heard me
- 12:28Speaker 3: talking about Saquan. So I pull up my phone on
- 12:30Speaker 3: Instagram and it's him saying he doesn't think Saquon would
- 12:34Speaker 3: be an impact player for the Eagles.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Man, So that in age.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Well, but as analysts, that's what we do, right, We
- 12:39Speaker 3: throw out there, take ward and we'll see if the
- 12:41Speaker 3: six that one didn't stick. He racked up the ninth
- 12:44Speaker 3: most rushing yards in an NFL game. Barkley had three
- 12:47Speaker 3: hundred and two total yards, becoming the twelfth player in
- 12:50Speaker 3: NFL history to top three hundred and the first Eagles player,
- 12:53Speaker 3: while also becoming the first NFL player with two seventy
- 12:57Speaker 3: yard touchdown runs in a game since him JD. Maurice
- 13:00Speaker 3: Jones drew in two thousand and nine. Giants, I know
- 13:04Speaker 3: you sick, yeah, man, I know you're sick.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Every time I think about the hard knocks in that
- 13:11Speaker 1: clip when they're having the conversation about it, Man, offseason
- 13:14Speaker 1: hard knocks is brutal.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I think they need to stop doing the off season
- 13:17Speaker 2: hard knocks. I don't know if anyone's gonna want to
- 13:19Speaker 2: be out there.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I mean, they just made that situation worse with the
- 13:22Speaker 3: GIANTSH goodness documented this.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Wow, that's that's rough man, the Giants. Giants. If you're
- 13:27Speaker 2: just sick, you're just sick. Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Outside of Barkley, though, Jaalen Hurst, he did to have
- 13:30Speaker 1: a decent game fifteen to twenty two, one to seventy
- 13:32Speaker 1: nine to one touchdown. AJ Brown had six receptions one
- 13:35Speaker 1: hundred and nine yards in one touchdown. Stafford he was okay.
- 13:39Speaker 1: He's twenty four thirty six two forty three, two touchdowns,
- 13:42Speaker 1: and Puka and Kua led all receivers with nine receptions
- 13:45Speaker 1: one hundred and seventeen yards. But I mean the Eagles
- 13:47Speaker 1: dominated dominated, forty one to two ninety bump terms of
- 13:51Speaker 1: total yards, out rushed him three fourteen to ninety two.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Now the Rams they hit the road, traveling to New
- 14:00Speaker 3: Orleans taking on the four and seven Saints. Nothing is guaranteed,
- 14:04Speaker 3: but you feel like they could be able to handle
- 14:06Speaker 3: that one. So after living six games in a row,
- 14:08Speaker 3: the Saints are now in a two game winn a streak.
- 14:11Speaker 3: So go out there and play your player. You know
- 14:13Speaker 3: your game. But the Hawks took care of business. So
- 14:15Speaker 3: if they keep taking take keep taking care of business. Goodness,
- 14:18Speaker 3: grace as ness, Shelby, keep taking care of business, they
- 14:21Speaker 3: should be all right.
- 14:21Speaker 1: No, that's the thing. There can't be a letdown at all.
- 14:24Speaker 1: We've talked about the Jets as good as they are.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But as a Seahawk fan, we we're not coaches, we're
- 14:29Speaker 1: not on the team, so we can look ahead.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and when you look aheady go, oh my god.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Okay, you take care of business this week, you beat
- 14:34Speaker 1: the Cardinals. You are truly in the driver's seat. And
- 14:36Speaker 1: so but as you know, that's why they play the
- 14:38Speaker 1: games on Sunday. So let's get back into these jets.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Man up, Hey, who you got? Who you got?
- 14:45Speaker 1: You know what time it is? Man up, Man up, Brother,
- 14:47Speaker 1: Man up, man up on Hawk Talk first matchup.
- 14:51Speaker 2: We're gonna look at here, mom, Aaron Rodgers.
- 14:54Speaker 1: How can we not got to the leader, the leader
- 14:57Speaker 1: of the CE Aaron Rodgers. His tenure York has been
- 15:00Speaker 1: definitely filled with drama. He definitely gonna get your pop
- 15:03Speaker 1: Corrinne with this. The Aaron Rodgers We've got to know
- 15:06Speaker 1: over the past twenty years, he's one of the best
- 15:08Speaker 1: in the game, one of the best to ever do it.
- 15:10Speaker 1: His resume speaks for herself. Ten time Pro bowler, four
- 15:13Speaker 1: time All Pro, four time MVP, over sixty thousand passing
- 15:16Speaker 1: yards appeared in two hundred and forty one games. Only
- 15:18Speaker 1: QB and NFL history was sixty thousand passing yards and
- 15:21Speaker 1: three thousand rush yards. But bom, this is in Green Bay,
- 15:26Speaker 1: this is New York, and it's been a struggle. It
- 15:28Speaker 1: has his first game on national TV. Last year, rupshit
- 15:31Speaker 1: his achilles after one pass.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Done for the year.
- 15:35Speaker 1: This year, his numbers aren't awful, but they're not that
- 15:37Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers the standard that we've been used to and
- 15:39Speaker 1: accustomed to. On the season, he's two hundred and forty
- 15:42Speaker 1: one for three to eighty two thousan four hundred and
- 15:45Speaker 1: forty two yards, seventeen touchdowns, seven interceptions. He has been
- 15:49Speaker 1: sacked twenty six times.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Now.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Lots of rumors about where Aaron Rodgers is gonna be.
- 15:54Speaker 1: If they're gonna shut him down the season, what was
- 15:56Speaker 1: gonna happen. So what we're hearing now is that Rogers indeed,
- 16:00Speaker 1: so it'll start according to their interim head coach on
- 16:02Speaker 1: Sunday against Seattle.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Why wouldn't he That'd be the dumbest thing in the world.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I don't care how bad he's playing. You paid them
- 16:08Speaker 3: all this money to come here. He assisted in getting
- 16:11Speaker 3: some guys fired on this team. He's got to go
- 16:14Speaker 3: out there and improve it.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You're ready to give it him the keys to a
- 16:17Speaker 1: certain extent. Anyway, those are nonsense. Anyway, Rodgers will play
- 16:21Speaker 1: a courting to an interim head coach and beyond the season.
- 16:23Speaker 1: He hopped on the Pat McAfee show, and he says
- 16:26Speaker 1: he doesn't even know if he wants to play next year,
- 16:28Speaker 1: but if he does, he would like to be in
- 16:29Speaker 1: New York.
- 16:30Speaker 3: I think that's like the worst thing he could do
- 16:32Speaker 3: this year was keep going on that dang show. He's
- 16:35Speaker 3: the one that's saying, you know, distractions and all that stuff.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I'm good with players having podcasts. Everyone has a podcast,
- 16:39Speaker 3: but that one's a bit different. That one's like ESPN.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Every single week. You got to answer some questions and
- 16:45Speaker 3: Pats his boys. So Pat don't press him to much neither.
- 16:47Speaker 1: No, he takes care of him, but it's still you
- 16:49Speaker 1: want to talk about distractions that can't not be distraction,
- 16:52Speaker 1: especially the way that they're playing defensively. The Seahawks are
- 16:55Speaker 1: twenty to total defense, allowing three hundred and forty four
- 16:58Speaker 1: yards per game. However, the Hawks I've only allowed sixteen
- 17:01Speaker 1: point three points per game since Week nine, which is
- 17:03Speaker 1: fourth in the NFL during that span.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Bump.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So Aaron Rodgers, he's not playing to the level he's
- 17:08Speaker 1: played before, but you don't have his credentials for no reason.
- 17:11Speaker 1: So he's still that same guy that you have to respect,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and he's still the same guy's going to get you
- 17:15Speaker 1: jump off sides, all that same stuff. Man, Rodgers, he
- 17:18Speaker 1: might not be doing all that he was doing a
- 17:19Speaker 1: green bag. But he's still a guy.
- 17:20Speaker 2: He got respect.
- 17:21Speaker 3: He's still had dog that the owner says doesn't bite.
- 17:24Speaker 3: But you look at him and say, yeah, he just
- 17:26Speaker 3: my bite stid. I don't care how much training he's
- 17:28Speaker 3: gone through. He got it in him. That's how look
- 17:30Speaker 3: at Aaron Rodgers. He still got some bite in him.
- 17:32Speaker 3: So don't don't sleep on him. I'll just talk about
- 17:34Speaker 3: Albert quarterback Gino Smith. He had a solid outing against
- 17:38Speaker 3: the Cardinals. He didn't have any The stats weren't crazy right.
- 17:42Speaker 3: It was twenty two or thirty one, two fifty four,
- 17:44Speaker 3: one touchdown in one interception, and it was a bad interception.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Wasn't a good one, but it is what it is.
- 17:49Speaker 3: He still led a thirteen play drive that lasted eight
- 17:52Speaker 3: minutes and thirteen seconds in the fourth quarter, setting up
- 17:55Speaker 3: a Jason Myers game selling field goal. He's second in
- 17:58Speaker 3: the NFL with ten the game when he drives since
- 18:01Speaker 3: twenty twenty two. You want to win a ball game,
- 18:05Speaker 3: just be within striking distance. Give Gino the football and
- 18:08Speaker 3: he'll give you an opportunity.
- 18:09Speaker 2: You want to win, Put Gino in. Want to win?
- 18:10Speaker 2: Put Gino in. Come on, now, get that T shirt done?
- 18:12Speaker 3: Coming into this matchup against the Jest, Gino needs one
- 18:15Speaker 3: three hundred yard passing game to ty Russell Wilson for
- 18:18Speaker 3: the most three hundred yard games in a single season
- 18:20Speaker 3: in a franchise in this franchise history with five.
- 18:24Speaker 2: That is impressive. I didn't think he was anywhere near
- 18:26Speaker 2: that at this point. Honestly, it's gonna get done easily, too.
- 18:29Speaker 1: There's no way that he goes well, we've got six
- 18:31Speaker 1: games left without one more three hundred yard passing game.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I can see it happening on Sunday. Yeah, I can
- 18:35Speaker 2: see it too.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Right now, Gino's fifth place in franchise history and attempts
- 18:39Speaker 3: fifteen hundred and seventy six, completions one thy seventy one,
- 18:42Speaker 3: passing yards eleven thousand, six hundred and seventy six, and
- 18:45Speaker 3: passing touchdowns with sixty seven. Let's look at who he
- 18:48Speaker 3: is amongst his peers in this league. Passing yards in
- 18:51Speaker 3: the NFL, he's first. Completing percentage, he is fifth, sixty
- 18:55Speaker 3: nine point one percent completions he is first. Attempts, he
- 18:58Speaker 3: is second. Right now, I think the biggest thing Gino
- 19:01Speaker 3: can improve on is turnovers. Obviously, he's done a great
- 19:03Speaker 3: job of the last two weeks minus two plays. I'm
- 19:07Speaker 3: not mad at, you know, for trying to make a play,
- 19:10Speaker 3: especially down in the red zone where there have been
- 19:12Speaker 3: some issues, but I think, you know it's got to
- 19:15Speaker 3: be calculated. And here's one thing too, I'm not making
- 19:17Speaker 3: an excuse for Gino. If I'm Tyler Lockett on that interception,
- 19:20Speaker 3: I'm drifting towards the back of the end zone because
- 19:22Speaker 3: I know I have a flat defender right there. I
- 19:23Speaker 3: think that both just weren't on the same page. Saw
- 19:26Speaker 3: an opportunity try to get it in quick, just didn't happen.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's gonna have his hands full this week
- 19:31Speaker 1: because they have good defensive backs, which we'll get into
- 19:33Speaker 1: in a second, but their eighth and total defense and
- 19:35Speaker 1: second against the pass, as you mentioned, So.
- 19:38Speaker 2: The Jets are gonna bring it.
- 19:39Speaker 1: As long as you know takes care of the football,
- 19:40Speaker 1: is gonna be good for the Seahawks offense. Flipping it
- 19:43Speaker 1: to the other side. Breesce Hall in that running game
- 19:45Speaker 1: for the Jets. Breess Hall has been as good as
- 19:47Speaker 1: advertised since he's coming to this league. Second round pick
- 19:50Speaker 1: in twenty twenty two, thirty six overall out of Iowa
- 19:53Speaker 1: State or he wrote every rewrote every record in the
- 19:55Speaker 1: Cyclones record book, two time consensus All American Big twelve
- 19:59Speaker 1: Player of the Year, all con friends, all that jazz,
- 20:01Speaker 1: So the dude was good. Got off to a great
- 20:03Speaker 1: start as rookie rush for four hundred and sixty three
- 20:05Speaker 1: yards on eighty carries for tuds, but he tears his
- 20:08Speaker 1: ACL after seven weeks. Has a good bounce back here
- 20:11Speaker 1: last year missing one thousand yards by just six yards. However,
- 20:14Speaker 1: he's a dual threat, so he had one five and
- 20:18Speaker 1: eighty five total yards and nine touchdowns, and this year
- 20:22Speaker 1: he's picked up where he left off in twenty twenty three.
- 20:24Speaker 1: So far this season, he's got one hundred and fifty
- 20:26Speaker 1: two carries for six hundred and thirty two yards, forty
- 20:28Speaker 1: six receptions for four hundred and one yards, and two touchdowns,
- 20:32Speaker 1: so he leads the team in rushing. He's second in
- 20:35Speaker 1: the NFL among running backs when it comes to receiving
- 20:37Speaker 1: yards four hundred and one. He's one of eleven players
- 20:40Speaker 1: with one thousand yards from scrimmage in one of two
- 20:42Speaker 1: with four hundred plus yards rushing and receiving. Recorded a
- 20:46Speaker 1: career high on hundred and three receiving yards in Week
- 20:48Speaker 1: seven against Pittsburgh.
- 20:49Speaker 2: So it is what it is.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Bump, It's obvious he can hurt you in the run.
- 20:52Speaker 1: In the pass game, Bressaw is definitely a guy that
- 20:54Speaker 1: you have to contend.
- 20:54Speaker 2: With whenever he's the new running back.
- 20:57Speaker 3: These new running backs, the only one who doesn't have
- 20:59Speaker 3: to receive the ball out the backfield is Derek hen Right, they.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Don't man fathered in.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Yeah, he's he got rollover minutes and all that stuff.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Everyone else you've got to be able to catch the football,
- 21:08Speaker 3: and Breeze Holmes is a perfect example that the best
- 21:11Speaker 3: running backs are dual the rest of these days.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, no question.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And the good thing in this matchup for the Seahawks though,
- 21:17Speaker 1: is what they're doing defensively, especially against the run. Seahawks
- 21:21Speaker 1: run defense continues to approve. After allowing one hundred and
- 21:23Speaker 1: fifty yards plus rushing yards in four consecutive games, the
- 21:27Speaker 1: Seahawks have only allowed two hundred and forty eight in
- 21:29Speaker 1: the last three. Since Week nine, the Seahawks have only
- 21:32Speaker 1: allowed eighty two yards per game, which is fifth in
- 21:34Speaker 1: the NFL. You'll hold James Connor to eight yards. That
- 21:37Speaker 1: was his worst game since his rookie year in twenty seventeen.
- 21:39Speaker 1: The Cardinals run for forty nine yards as a team.
- 21:42Speaker 1: The previous two weeks they had combined for three to sixty.
- 21:44Speaker 1: The Cardinals also had zero rushing first downs last week. Wow,
- 21:49Speaker 1: that's only been done five times in franchise history. So
- 21:52Speaker 1: the Seahawks are playing some good ball up front. Ernest Jones,
- 21:55Speaker 1: Tyree Knight, the front seven, Leonard Williams. They've really put
- 21:58Speaker 1: it together the last couple of weeks. So that continues
- 22:00Speaker 1: on Sunday against these Jets.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Look in the run game, numbers aren't a fluke. The
- 22:05Speaker 3: Cardinals can run the rock. That's what they do, That's
- 22:07Speaker 3: what they prefer to do. Sometimes you get these numbers
- 22:10Speaker 3: against teams that aren't really great at running the football.
- 22:12Speaker 2: You packed yourself in the back. But context matters.
- 22:15Speaker 3: The Cardinals were a are a good rushing football team.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Big up to that defensive line in those backers. Man,
- 22:21Speaker 3: let's talk about their receivers. They got some guys Garrett Wilson,
- 22:24Speaker 3: DeVante Adams, and despite their office the numbers, the Jets
- 22:27Speaker 3: still got some dogs in the receiver room. Man Jackson,
- 22:31Speaker 3: Smith and jag Wood played with Garrett Wilson. So you
- 22:34Speaker 3: know that's a OSU is now wide receiver. You it
- 22:37Speaker 3: is what it is hard to argue.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Else he is the only one that can kind of
- 22:41Speaker 2: get in the conversation.
- 22:42Speaker 3: But it's still and they got some guys coming out
- 22:45Speaker 3: this year that it keeps going. Man, oh man, apparently
- 22:51Speaker 3: we got beef with Garrett. He stole the Rookie of
- 22:54Speaker 3: the Year award away from Ken Walker. I agree hundred
- 22:56Speaker 3: percent with.
- 22:57Speaker 2: You, man. I mean we got got twice by the
- 22:59Speaker 2: j say a year, man made no sense.
- 23:01Speaker 3: We got him on the field though, Yeah, I got
- 23:02Speaker 3: him on the field. It's all that matters and helped,
- 23:04Speaker 3: you know, get as sweet. So there's some silver line
- 23:07Speaker 3: in there. Wilson was drafted tenth overall by the Jets
- 23:09Speaker 3: in twenty twenty two and has done nothing but produced.
- 23:13Speaker 3: In twenty twenty two, he won the Rookie of the Year,
- 23:15Speaker 3: but he also went for a thousand yards, receiving each
- 23:18Speaker 3: of his full two NFL seasons. He's reliable, he's you
- 23:23Speaker 3: know what I see him in an interview. He's a
- 23:24Speaker 3: smart dude too. Yeah, he's a sharp guy.
- 23:27Speaker 2: This year.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I mean he's first on the team with seven hundred
- 23:30Speaker 3: and seventy two yards. He recorded his fifth most receptions
- 23:33Speaker 3: in the NFL this season with sixty nine, so he's
- 23:36Speaker 3: he's having himself. Because it's weird how individuals are having
- 23:40Speaker 3: good seasons on this football team, but collectively as a
- 23:42Speaker 3: team that is not putting it together.
- 23:44Speaker 2: No, you can't.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And it's it's wild to me too, because again, when
- 23:48Speaker 1: they initially got Aaron Rodgers, I was like, Okay, you're
- 23:50Speaker 1: getting partnered or you already got a number one developing
- 23:53Speaker 1: wide receiver in Garrett Wilson. You had one to start
- 23:54Speaker 1: the year, so I was thinking he was going to
- 23:56Speaker 1: go off even more. The only thing, sorry, this is
- 23:59Speaker 1: not even in context for the Jets right now. Yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 1: how did Ohio State not win a national championship? C
- 24:06Speaker 1: J Stroud, Jackson Smith and Jig Budd, Jared Wilson, Chris Olave, Like,
- 24:12Speaker 1: come on, Marvin Harrison Junior.
- 24:14Speaker 2: They were all on one offense.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Sorry, I just can't like coach Man, coach Day, you
- 24:20Speaker 3: gotta get it done.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Coach Day. Holy, I mean coach Day.
- 24:24Speaker 1: What's different, different conversation for different podcast, but my goodness.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Oh man.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Now they added Davante Adams the Jets acquired him via
- 24:32Speaker 3: trade after a week six for a conditional third round pick.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Here's who he is on papers at three time All
- 24:38Speaker 3: Pro Guy, six time Pro Bowler, one of three players
- 24:41Speaker 3: NFL history to record eleven thousand yards receiving and ninety
- 24:44Speaker 3: plus touchdowns in their first eleven seasons. Since twenty sixteen,
- 24:48Speaker 3: he's second in NFL and receptions eight hundred and twenty
- 24:51Speaker 3: eight and receiving yards ten thousand, three hundred and thirty nine,
- 24:54Speaker 3: and first in receiving touchdowns with ninety three.
- 24:56Speaker 2: There's no denying who this guy is. Man.
- 25:00Speaker 3: He went to Vegas after leaving Green Bay and still
- 25:03Speaker 3: had back to back one thousand yards seat fighting.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Man.
- 25:08Speaker 3: I felt bad for the dude over there. Man, you
- 25:10Speaker 3: got a quarterback carousel going over there. You go over
- 25:12Speaker 3: there to join your coach teammate. They even live together
- 25:16Speaker 3: for a little bit, and then he gets shipped off.
- 25:18Speaker 3: And now you got at O'Connell throwing you into football.
- 25:20Speaker 3: You got Garner Minshoot throwing the football. I want to
- 25:23Speaker 3: say there was one one was Marriote over there for
- 25:24Speaker 3: a little bit. Yeah, yeah, it's just but he still
- 25:27Speaker 3: continues to reduce man even though he's not having the
- 25:30Speaker 3: year that he wants with the Jets. You can't sleep
- 25:32Speaker 3: on DeVonta Adams. He's he has the best release in
- 25:35Speaker 3: the game. I'm interested to see how many times the
- 25:38Speaker 3: Hawks walk up and try to press them.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I'm still I'm still bitter.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I think I have very distinct memories and tough SIAK
- 25:45Speaker 1: losses throughout the year. Wild card or divisional playoffs twenty nineteen.
- 25:51Speaker 1: We need to get a stop on third down. I
- 25:54Speaker 1: want to say DeVante's either there's a couple of different
- 25:56Speaker 1: ones because he had which there's when he beat Trade
- 26:00Speaker 1: and then another one he got oogle on.
- 26:01Speaker 2: That we really needed late in the game. And he's
- 26:03Speaker 2: still one of the best to ever do it. Man,
- 26:04Speaker 2: he is. It's weirdest production right.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Three games with the Raiders, eighteen receptions, two hundred nine yards,
- 26:09Speaker 3: one touchdown. With the Jets five games, twenty six receptions,
- 26:12Speaker 3: twenty seventy eight yards and one touchdown.
- 26:14Speaker 2: They're just not clicking over there. This this something ain't
- 26:16Speaker 2: something right.
- 26:18Speaker 1: And the crazy thing is Rogers and Adams had the
- 26:20Speaker 1: most lethal combination out of anyone in the NFL from
- 26:24Speaker 1: twenty eighteen to twenty twenty one, they ring first in
- 26:26Speaker 1: the NFL and receptions for twenty five, receiving yards five thousand,
- 26:30Speaker 1: two fifty seven, and receiving touchdowns forty seven. So that
- 26:33Speaker 1: duo was unstoppable in Green Bay.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Yep. Not the case this year.
- 26:37Speaker 1: And then they lost Alan Lazard, another one of Aaron
- 26:40Speaker 1: Rodgers homies that he brought in there.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I'll tell you what a good year though, he's having
- 26:44Speaker 3: a good year before win and then I want to
- 26:46Speaker 3: we talk about Aaron Rodgers, but he's loyal.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Man.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Yeah, if you do any good, people give you one
- 26:53Speaker 3: too many chances.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Oh goodness.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Well, the Seahawks they're fifteenth against the pass on two
- 26:59Speaker 1: hundred fourteen yeer game. But Riquel and Spoon, Julian Love
- 27:03Speaker 1: and defensive player of the week Kobe Bryant, let's go.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I haven't played some good ball. So the Seahawks secondary
- 27:09Speaker 1: I believe will be up for the challenge. Now, let's
- 27:12Speaker 1: fok go over to our receivers and man, we've talked
- 27:16Speaker 1: about it the last three or four weeks.
- 27:17Speaker 2: JSN, he's here. He's here. If anyone will question it,
- 27:21Speaker 2: by the march, can by the march. Now he's here.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Last week he had six receptions seventy seven yards one touchdown,
- 27:29Speaker 1: set a single season career high for him, sixty six
- 27:31Speaker 1: receptions and yards at seven and fifty five. He was
- 27:35Speaker 1: just twenty three yards short of his third one hundred
- 27:37Speaker 1: yard receiving game, which would tie the club record. DK
- 27:39Speaker 1: Metcalf said earlier this year he's eighth in the NFL
- 27:43Speaker 1: on receptions. He's one receiving touchdown shy of his career
- 27:46Speaker 1: high with five. He needs one hundred and twenty three
- 27:49Speaker 1: yards to pass Steve Largin for the most receiving yards
- 27:51Speaker 1: in a four game span with four nineties. So Jayson
- 27:55Speaker 1: balling out, let's go DK came back. He's still kind
- 27:57Speaker 1: of coming off that knee injury. Been back line it
- 28:00Speaker 1: for two games after missing two games with that MCL
- 28:03Speaker 1: against Cardinals, four receptions fifty nine yards not crazy good performance,
- 28:07Speaker 1: but did have that really clutch third down conversion thirty
- 28:11Speaker 1: eight where Gino as scramble around found DK huge one
- 28:14Speaker 1: that set up the game ceiling field goal against the Cardinals.
- 28:17Speaker 1: So DK still doing his thing. Forty six receptions, six
- 28:20Speaker 1: ninety seven, three touchdowns. He's got twenty twenty receptions less
- 28:24Speaker 1: than JSN and He's only like forty five yards behind
- 28:27Speaker 1: him and two less games played, so hoping to see
- 28:29Speaker 1: some more big playability from dk explosive.
- 28:32Speaker 3: You just need one deep attempt. Oh, he almost had
- 28:35Speaker 3: a big one last right. Two defenders man so close
- 28:38Speaker 3: to coming up with that football. I believe there's a penalty.
- 28:40Speaker 1: It would have got called back anyway, but still it
- 28:42Speaker 1: was exactly what you want.
- 28:43Speaker 3: It's still nice to see. If you need one or
- 28:44Speaker 3: two of those this game to see what he does.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Then you got Lockett. Lock It doing to the Lockett things.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Thirty eight receptions, four ninety five two touchdowns early the season.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Ala, he's done.
- 28:54Speaker 1: He became the second player in franchise history thirteen thousand
- 28:56Speaker 1: combined yards, needs two more touchdowns to pass Marshawn Lynch
- 29:00Speaker 1: for third place at all time touchdown list. And he's
- 29:03Speaker 1: just the He's the go man. He's second in everything
- 29:05Speaker 1: Seahawks related for talking receptions, yards, touchdowns. Unfortunately, the guy
- 29:10Speaker 1: who's number one is like number one by lot.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he was one of the greatest receivers of all
- 29:16Speaker 3: time in this league.
- 29:17Speaker 2: It's gonna be hard to catch. It's gonna be hard
- 29:19Speaker 2: to catch Steve Large in any category. But bump. For
- 29:22Speaker 2: them to have a good game, they're gonna have to
- 29:24Speaker 2: take on these dbs from New York.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Yeah they Let's start with Sauce. I mean, we we
- 29:30Speaker 3: all know the name. We all know where he came from,
- 29:33Speaker 3: the same school as our guy, Kobe Bryant. Didn't win
- 29:36Speaker 3: the JI did win the Jim Thorpe saying he was
- 29:39Speaker 3: in Defensive Player of the Week. Last week he was saying
- 29:41Speaker 3: he was he might be having a down year depending
- 29:43Speaker 3: on who you talk to. But they also have DJ
- 29:46Speaker 3: Reid over there. They're one of the best two combos.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Yeah in the league.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I mean, all jokes aside, we understand who these guys are.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Love seeing Dj Reed do his thing.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Man.
- 29:54Speaker 3: The Hawks claimed them off of waivers when he was
- 29:56Speaker 3: released by the Niners in twenty twenty. If you know,
- 29:58Speaker 3: his story is great at JC. Guy works his way up.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Love his story. And uh, what I like about Dj
- 30:05Speaker 3: Reid is his his aggressiveness because he's a he's a
- 30:08Speaker 3: smaller guy, and you know, as a smaller dude, the
- 30:10Speaker 3: dbs are typically the smaller guys on the on the
- 30:12Speaker 3: football field, you have to be aggressive, and he does
- 30:15Speaker 3: it exactly that.
- 30:16Speaker 2: So big ups to uh to DJ Reid doing his thing.
- 30:21Speaker 2: The combo.
- 30:22Speaker 3: You have the aggressive guy with the smooth guy on
- 30:24Speaker 3: the other side and Sauce. And now Sauce isn't known
- 30:27Speaker 3: for his past excuse me, his interceptions more forward, just
- 30:30Speaker 3: being sticky in his past breakups.
- 30:33Speaker 2: So I say, go at him. I like the matchup.
- 30:36Speaker 3: You respect these dudes, but also say, I like DK
- 30:39Speaker 3: against Sauce, DK against DJ. I like Jayson against both
- 30:43Speaker 3: of those guys. I like Tyler Lockett against both of
- 30:45Speaker 3: those guys. So just uh, just keep the good times.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Rolling man.
- 30:48Speaker 3: DJ has eight passive defendive, one tackle, two tackles for looso,
- 30:51Speaker 3: one quarterback hit. Sauce has thirty six tackles for passes defendant,
- 30:54Speaker 3: one sack, one QB hit and one TfL.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Go at him. I like the matchup. Let's see what
- 30:59Speaker 2: they do. Yeah, I think a lot of things with
- 31:01Speaker 2: Sauce too.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Is people got at some point get scared almost the
- 31:04Speaker 1: Richard Sherman treatment. Where we start, We're gonna stop, you know,
- 31:07Speaker 1: tackling half the field.
- 31:08Speaker 2: No I'm not.
- 31:09Speaker 1: You're in tell way and grave to take away half
- 31:11Speaker 1: the field. Now go after them. You have some of
- 31:14Speaker 1: the best receivers in the game to go after him. Right,
- 31:16Speaker 1: one thousand percent agree. But it should be fun matchup.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Got your popcorn ready because they gonna be talking.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Yeah, you already know this might be the most the
- 31:24Speaker 3: most active game when it comes to Trashdoll.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I think fourteen will be talking too, because he'll be
- 31:29Speaker 1: celebrating in the end zone.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Market down DK Metcalf touchdown this week.
- 31:33Speaker 1: The last matchup we'll look at is Quinn Williams or
- 31:36Speaker 1: a body er body this man. You want to talk
- 31:38Speaker 1: about a guy that can wreck a game? Bro We
- 31:41Speaker 1: encountered this last time we played a team from New York,
- 31:44Speaker 1: Dexter Lawrence. Same type of player who can ruin the
- 31:47Speaker 1: game from inside. Dominant. He's in a six season, two
- 31:50Speaker 1: time pro bowler, was an All Pro and twenty twenty
- 31:52Speaker 1: two might be on his way to another All Pro season.
- 31:55Speaker 1: He's recorded a third sacks, third most sacks for an
- 31:58Speaker 1: interior lineman and franchise history with thirty nine, and this
- 32:00Speaker 1: year he started every game. In twenty twenty four, thirty
- 32:03Speaker 1: two tackles, seventyfl six sacs, sixteen qbits, and thirty six
- 32:09Speaker 1: pressures man from inside, second most pressures from an interior
- 32:13Speaker 1: lineman this season.
- 32:14Speaker 2: He's a dog.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Top three interior lineman in this league. Right now, you
- 32:19Speaker 3: gotta throw Dexter in there. I'm still gonna get Chris
- 32:21Speaker 3: Jones in the mix. You don't ignore that, dude. And
- 32:24Speaker 3: then there's this guy. I was watching film of them
- 32:27Speaker 3: last night and it's just it's just violent, it's big,
- 32:30Speaker 3: it's strong. So good for you, Quinnen and you guards
- 32:34Speaker 3: and centers. Do you think, olu, yeah, Olu gains laking.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Let's go, let's get it go need you yeah, get
- 32:42Speaker 3: those lunch pails ready. So we just went through all
- 32:45Speaker 3: those guys for the Jets.
- 32:46Speaker 1: After going through, you're like, these guys got a lot
- 32:49Speaker 1: of players, but we'll let you know how the Seahawks
- 32:51Speaker 1: run and get this victory in New York.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Path to victory.
- 32:56Speaker 1: After forty five waits for the snap packet victory puts
- 32:59Speaker 1: it down, that kicks away. If that kick is good,
- 33:03Speaker 1: good day of quinn fifth gun.
- 33:05Speaker 2: It's a pass to victory.
- 33:07Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk, the Seahawks are not just in the
- 33:10Speaker 1: race bump, They're in first place all alone in the NFCS.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Is a gear up for the last six games of
- 33:15Speaker 1: the season. We were in the stretch run. As we mentioned,
- 33:19Speaker 1: we just went through all the dogs that Jets have.
- 33:21Speaker 1: They're three and eight. But you can't take this team
- 33:23Speaker 1: for granted. With all the Pro Bowl, All Pro caliber
- 33:26Speaker 1: players Aaron Rodgers, Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson, Quinn Williams, Savante
- 33:30Speaker 1: Adams to name a few, these boys can rise up
- 33:32Speaker 1: and beat you any given Sunday. You saw it happen
- 33:35Speaker 1: against the Houston Dexans a little bit ago. But for me, bump,
- 33:38Speaker 1: gotta start fast, jump on them early. The way this
- 33:40Speaker 1: defense is playing, you give them a lead. Good luck
- 33:42Speaker 1: in that back.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Yeah, man, don't uh, don't give them any type of hope.
- 33:46Speaker 3: You let them like, look, be who you are. You're
- 33:48Speaker 3: not a good football team. We're gonna remind you you're
- 33:50Speaker 3: not a good football team. So please do that. Stop
- 33:53Speaker 3: the run and force the forty one year old man
- 33:56Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers to try to beat you, you know, force
- 33:58Speaker 3: him to try to beat because Leonard is going to
- 34:01Speaker 3: jack all of that up. Man, if he plays even
- 34:03Speaker 3: a little bit like he did last week, it should
- 34:06Speaker 3: be a tough way for these guys. And then you
- 34:08Speaker 3: got to find a way to get the offense going.
- 34:10Speaker 3: We say this every week. Get the run game going,
- 34:13Speaker 3: all right, it's been a while since we've seen ken
- 34:14Speaker 3: Walker do his thing. He's had some electric plays, but
- 34:18Speaker 3: it's just been a while. You got to give him
- 34:19Speaker 3: a chance to get positive yards and.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Just give him opportunity. There was one play last week.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I believe it was a fourteen yard run by him
- 34:28Speaker 3: running off the right side, and I'm watching it go
- 34:30Speaker 3: down and I think it was Cody White on the
- 34:33Speaker 3: backside who didn't push Crack to the safety. It's like,
- 34:35Speaker 3: you're one play away. And excuse me if I got
- 34:37Speaker 3: the name wrong, but there was a backside safety or
- 34:39Speaker 3: backside receiver that didn't push Crack to the safety. And
- 34:42Speaker 3: if you just get it get in his way, Kitin
- 34:44Speaker 3: is gone. So just put a body on his body.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:47Speaker 1: No, it's the little things in the run game. They
- 34:49Speaker 1: feel like it's close. It's not quite there yet, but
- 34:51Speaker 1: we're hoping it can get there. Broadcasting line from the

- 35:45Speaker 1: I think this is a game that they can take
- 35:46Speaker 1: advantage of and keep this thing rolling. They've got They've
- 35:49Speaker 1: started it right, it's there. We talked about it last week.
- 35:52Speaker 1: One can be a flu. Two something's happening, threes a trended.
- 35:55Speaker 1: They're about to start a trend and they're about to
