- 2:23Speaker 2: all I can do about it. It's all I can do.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I cannot do any.
- 2:27Speaker 1: More than that. I just feel bad. What do you
- 2:30Speaker 1: want me to say?
- 2:31Speaker 2: I wanted to get into before we get into the clip,
- 2:34Speaker 2: I wanted to get into a little bit about the redistricting.
- 2:40Speaker 2: And you say to me, why Tony are you talking
- 2:42Speaker 2: about redistricting?
- 2:43Speaker 1: This has come and this is gone. Well, two things happened.
- 2:48Speaker 2: First, a story in the IBJ about redistricting revenge. How
- 2:57Speaker 2: we're starting to hear ads and see ads that are
- 3:02Speaker 2: talking about those members of the General Assembly who did
- 3:05Speaker 2: not favor redistricting.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And are now pushing for this or pushing their reelection,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and how that.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Isn't being taken too well by everybody because it's not right.
- 3:24Speaker 2: It's not being taken too well by everybody. There are
- 3:26Speaker 2: some people who are angry and upset and bothered by
- 3:31Speaker 2: what it is that happened. They're bothered by the idea
- 3:35Speaker 2: that redistricting didn't happen. And okay, there are those who
- 3:41Speaker 2: are part of trump Land who said, we.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Said we were going to come after you, and.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That's exactly exactly what they're doing. We told you that
- 3:53Speaker 2: if you don't redistrict. We're going to challenge you in
- 3:55Speaker 2: a primary and lo and behold, that's what's happening as
- 4:00Speaker 2: we speak. Not surprised, well, take that back, actually a
- 4:06Speaker 2: little surprised that there's really money to do this. I
- 4:12Speaker 2: think that a lot of people, certainly in the.
- 4:16Speaker 1: General Assembly would have thought that this is bluster.
- 4:21Speaker 2: But Monday, I was at the Hamilton County Lincoln Day dinner.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Got invited and it was It was lovely. Saw some people,
- 4:35Speaker 2: saw some people I didn't talk to, saw some people
- 4:37Speaker 2: who didn't talk to me, saw some people who were
- 4:39Speaker 2: absolutely joyous, very very nice time. Huge, huge crowd for
- 4:45Speaker 2: the Hamilton County dinner, six hundred seven, seven hundred people.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It was.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Huge, gigantic was the crowd there. Thrilled for them, absolutely
- 5:02Speaker 2: thrilled to see it. I'm hoping for those side crowds.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I am speaking to the Madison County their President's dinner
- 5:09Speaker 2: on April eighteenth, in case you want to get that
- 5:13Speaker 2: on the calendar. And then I'm going to Morgan County
- 5:21Speaker 2: and I am speaking to them at their Lincoln Day
- 5:24Speaker 2: dinner on April twenty third, so that yeah, we gotta
- 5:30Speaker 2: gotta do better. Bigger than Hamilton County. Let's go make
- 5:32Speaker 2: that happen. And there were a series of speakers. Riley
- 5:37Speaker 2: Gaines was a speaker. Enjoyed hearing from her and the
- 5:42Speaker 2: fight against madness and men and women's sports and those
- 5:46Speaker 2: who want to well try and rip apart of the
- 5:49Speaker 2: fabric of society in One of the speakers was Senator
- 5:56Speaker 2: Jim Buck. Now, maybe I'm out of line for discussing
- 6:04Speaker 2: something that took place at a Lincoln Day. I know
- 6:07Speaker 2: that if I speak at a Lincoln Day, someone could
- 6:10Speaker 2: quote me. I don't think there's any issue with me
- 6:15Speaker 2: discussing something that I heard. If I told you about
- 6:17Speaker 2: what Riley Gaines said, there was no issue with that.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Right. I don't know centeror Buck personally.
- 6:25Speaker 2: What I know is he is speaking and the first
- 6:29Speaker 2: thing he brings up is redistricting.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And I said, I'm at this table of.
- 6:35Speaker 2: People, and I believe my words were my god, what
- 6:40Speaker 2: is he doing? Who advised Jim Buck that he should say, yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 2: I voted against registricting. That was the right thing to do.
- 6:49Speaker 2: What was the idea there? If your objective is let's say, reelection,
- 6:55Speaker 2: If your objective is unity, and the Republican party, you're
- 6:58Speaker 2: talking about issue that bring people together.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I have no idea where that.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Room was regarding redistricting. Why in the world would you
- 7:10Speaker 2: bring it up? It was it was such a bad idea.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I think he referred to it as the eutphant in
- 7:18Speaker 2: the room. Why in the world would you bring it up?
- 7:22Speaker 2: Such a bad idea? And for the record, not well delivered.
- 7:29Speaker 2: The whole My take on the entire room was, oh,
- 7:34Speaker 2: my gosh, when.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Is he going to stop talking? That was my talk.
- 7:40Speaker 1: That was my take on his talk. That was the
- 7:43Speaker 1: whole view.
- 7:48Speaker 2: How many more Republicans are going to misread the room
- 7:53Speaker 2: and believe whatever it is their spouse or their kids
- 7:57Speaker 2: or their staff tells them as somehow real life. It's
- 8:01Speaker 2: not real life. Real life is you didn't fight. Real
- 8:06Speaker 2: life is you don't want to fight, and real life
- 8:08Speaker 2: is you're proud of not fighting, and you don't have
- 8:14Speaker 2: the common decency to shut your mouth. If there was
- 8:23Speaker 2: anything that I thought someone could say, Okay, I'm done
- 8:28Speaker 2: voting for a guy who's been in the Indiana state
- 8:30Speaker 2: sentence ince two thousand and eight, it was this.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It was this no interest, thank you, none whatsoever. It
- 8:47Speaker 1: was not it was not good. It was not good
- 8:54Speaker 1: at all.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I didn't mean for the whole Popcorn Moments to be that,
- 8:59Speaker 2: but I had. I had to share it with you
- 9:01Speaker 2: because I couldn't believe it was happening. I swear to you,
- 9:05Speaker 2: I will get to some Popcorn Moments stuff.
- 9:07Speaker 1: At seven forty five. We're not done yet
