Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Blue Cantrell. Some people call her a one-hit wonder. I
- 0:03Speaker 1: kind of do because that was her big hit. But
- 0:06Speaker 1: she had another one after this song called Breathe with
- 0:09Speaker 1: Sean Paul on it. It was kind of big. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 0:12Speaker 1: But this was the biggest one.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yes, it was.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Variety from the 80s through today. Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen,
- 0:17Speaker 1: Light FM is on. Remind me, Christine, because we park
- 0:20Speaker 1: in the same garage. I have the honey you asked for.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Thank you. Because you know we're Costco members. You're not.
- 0:26Speaker 1: You're about to join. Wait, didn't Eric join?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Yes, please.
- 0:28Speaker 1: But he goes to.
- 0:30Speaker 2: He gets overwhelmed, so he hasn't... Right. We haven't gone
- 0:33Speaker 2: there yet.
- 0:34Speaker 1: You told me to pick up some honey. Yes, thank you.
- 0:35Speaker 1: And I thought maybe I was going to text you
- 0:38Speaker 1: and go, which honey... Mm-hmm. But right when I saw it,
- 0:40Speaker 1: I went, oh, wait, I don't even need to text you.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Three little bears.
- 0:43Speaker 1: The three little bears. That's a good way to remember it.
- 0:44Speaker 2: It's all attached. Thank you. Yes. Thanks for doing that.
- 0:47Speaker 1: But I almost pulled an Eric, you know, where I
- 0:48Speaker 1: had to check in, make sure I'm buying the right thing.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Like I do with my wife sometimes.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 0:53Speaker 1: So you're my radio wife.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Or all the time. Or all the time. Thanks for
- 0:56Speaker 2: doing that. Yes, Eric, he was at Stop and Shop.
- 0:59Speaker 2: That's where we go. Tuesday, I think it was. And yesterday,
- 1:04Speaker 2: he's telling- That was yesterday. Wait, was yesterday Tuesday? Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 2: What year is it, by the way?
- 1:09Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 1:09Speaker 2: By the way, I'm with you.
- 1:11Speaker 1: We are falling on.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Where are we exactly?
- 1:13Speaker 1: I got back from vacation a week ago. I don't
- 1:15Speaker 1: even know what month it is. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Okay, so say it was Monday. He went Monday evening.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And then yesterday, he shares this story with me about,
- 1:23Speaker 2: you know, adventures in Stop and Shop. And he made
- 1:26Speaker 2: a friend, apparently, at the deli counter. So Eric goes
- 1:29Speaker 2: up to the deli counter. Nobody's there. Just one guy
- 1:32Speaker 2: is working. So he doesn't take a number. And the
- 1:34Speaker 2: guy's not waiting on him. And then this older gentleman...
- 1:38Speaker 2: He stands next to Eric and he's like, hey, you
- 1:40Speaker 2: got it. Like Eric does it with his New York accent.
- 1:42Speaker 2: He's like, you got to take a number. The guy's
- 1:44Speaker 2: not going to, you know. And he's like, here, just
- 1:45Speaker 2: take my number. Otherwise, it's going to get all confused.
- 1:48Speaker 2: And Eric's like, oh, OK, thank you. So he takes
- 1:50Speaker 2: the number. Now the guy's waiting on him.
- 1:51Speaker 1: The guy's like showing Eric the ropes kind of.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, like teaching him the ways, the ways of you
- 1:56Speaker 2: married men. And the guy starts slicing up the meat,
- 2:00Speaker 2: whatever it is, it's ham and we're getting cheese. And
- 2:03Speaker 2: Eric's like very, very thin. The guy holds it up
- 2:06Speaker 2: and is like, is this thin enough? And Eric's like, I,
- 2:08Speaker 2: you know, I don't know. It's not for me. The guy,
- 2:12Speaker 2: guy next to Eric goes, oh, you got one of those.
- 2:16Speaker 2: You got one of those at home. Oh boy.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So he didn't know what to do. Well, no. It
- 2:21Speaker 1: was unsure if you would be approved of it.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yes. That, and now they're starting to commiserate. And the
- 2:28Speaker 2: guy's like, listen, I've been married 50 years. He's like,
- 2:32Speaker 2: you got one of those at home. And Eric's like,
- 2:34Speaker 2: You think that's bad. You think like cold cuts are bad.
- 2:37Speaker 2: She has samples, paint samples all over the walls for
- 2:41Speaker 2: months because she can't make a decision. And he's like, oh, OK. Now, listen,
- 2:46Speaker 2: you've got to let her decide. You don't decide. You
- 2:48Speaker 2: don't decide the paint color. You let her decide.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Happy wife, happy life comes up all the time, doesn't it?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yes. So apparently then they had a big discussion about
- 2:56Speaker 2: when they go to stop and shop and then when
- 2:58Speaker 2: they go to shop. Right. And I'm like, oh, you're
- 2:59Speaker 2: feeling better now. You're making friends.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Eric's going to meet him later today in the deli.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Now they're going to go to the YMCA together or something.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:07Speaker 1: That's good bonding right there.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I'm so glad he found a friend and had some guidance,
- 3:13Speaker 2: not just in stop and shop, but in life. This
- 3:15Speaker 2: is a guy who's telling him I'm married 50 years.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Just do what she says.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It's so true, by the way. That's the first lesson
- 3:21Speaker 1: I learned. I've been married 11 years. I think two
- 3:23Speaker 1: hours after I was married.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you got it. I got it.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Whatever. It's all about her. All right, we're coming right back.
- 3:29Speaker 1: More variety from the 80s due today.
