- 0:05Speaker 2: Plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Got to come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Hour two of Off the Bench Live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 2: Kine Studio.
- 0:32Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTB. Here live on location,
- 0:39Speaker 3: and again we are at the Louisiana Restaurant Association Betton
- 0:42Speaker 3: Rouge Chapter golf tournament here at U Club.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Hell, there's a lot of distractions as the morning goes on.
- 0:54Speaker 4: And again everybody knows that who listens every now and
- 0:58Speaker 4: then we are we are diagnosed squirrel sears over here
- 1:02Speaker 4: hosting the show. And there's a lot of squirrels out
- 1:04Speaker 4: here today. Lata just the most. Just something we got
- 1:09Speaker 4: fresh herbs being brought in over here. I don't know
- 1:11Speaker 4: what he's cooking up. He's cooking up something fun.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Okay, So I don't know this because typically typically that
- 1:18Speaker 3: tent is the superior tent, that one right now.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, see that's.
- 1:23Speaker 3: A margarita machine there in the back left. And let
- 1:26Speaker 3: me just tell you my former partner would indulge.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Sure.
- 1:30Speaker 4: I mean, it is a monday, they're in the show.
- 1:34Speaker 4: It is a Monday at eight.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I mean, somebody's got to take care of these margaritas.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Might as well be t Yeah yeah, LSU spring football, Okay,
- 1:45Speaker 3: starting this week. Okay, let's go all right, exciting looking
- 1:49Speaker 3: forward to it. I know that our guy Hunt Paul
- 1:52Speaker 3: Merrow is going to have a little station survey out
- 1:56Speaker 3: probably a little bit later today. No big deal. Me
- 2:00Speaker 3: and Matt Bow turned in our answers. It's not that deal.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Definitely saw that email before he sent the third text
- 2:06Speaker 3: to remind us, and it was kind of, you know,
- 2:09Speaker 3: what are you excited about for l s U football? Like,
- 2:12Speaker 3: what are you looking forward to? You can check the
- 2:15Speaker 3: answer out later on Louisiansports. Done that, but we'll spoil
- 2:18Speaker 3: our answers maybe here for you here in this segment. So, Matthew,
- 2:23Speaker 3: the thing that you're most looking forward to for the
- 2:25Speaker 3: Louisiana State University.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Bird's got a fish in its mouth? Where wait, you
- 2:31Speaker 1: can't say, wait, you cannot tell me that? Well it did?
- 2:33Speaker 4: It just went by the tree. It had a fish
- 2:35Speaker 4: in its mouth. Love that. What kind of bird was it?
- 2:38Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:39Speaker 4: It was a fish eating bird, repelican. It was not
- 2:42Speaker 4: a pelican that'd be in his bill you wouldn't be
- 2:44Speaker 4: able to see that one.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Well, I didn't know if it was like mid byzone.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Yeah swallow, But anyway, that was fine to see that.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Spring football, okay, uh okay, So two things. For one,
- 3:01Speaker 4: I don't really get excited for anything in spring football, honestly,
- 3:04Speaker 4: usually in the normal situation, spring there running the back. Yeah,
- 3:08Speaker 4: as players, we hated spring football.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Great.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Once spring football was over as a player. As a coach,
- 3:14Speaker 4: you never went and watched the film again. You didn't
- 3:17Speaker 4: talk about spring football. You're not sitting in training camp
- 3:20Speaker 4: and you're like, hey, remember that the second week of
- 3:23Speaker 4: springball when this happened.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You never do that.
- 3:25Speaker 4: So springball is just it's it's an exercise to get
- 3:28Speaker 4: out there and play a little football. You get a
- 3:30Speaker 4: little bit of evaluation done normally in any normal circumstance,
- 3:35Speaker 4: any normal year. However, this year is a little bit
- 3:38Speaker 4: different because of the lane train, and that is the
- 3:42Speaker 4: whole reason that there is any excitement or buzz. Well,
- 3:45Speaker 4: we thrive, we thirst for football, any football news here
- 3:49Speaker 4: in South Louisiana, of course, especially when it comes to
- 3:52Speaker 4: LSU football. So yeah, there's always going to be news
- 3:54Speaker 4: coming out of spring. So there's a couple of things
- 3:58Speaker 4: to look out for. Certain only the battle for the
- 4:02Speaker 4: backup quarterback job will certainly ensue planning Clark, who's on
- 4:08Speaker 4: Long Street and I just want to go going into spring.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Don't count out Landing Clark on this whole deal. I
- 4:16Speaker 4: know that Long Street. He's former five star guy. Yeah,
- 4:20Speaker 4: he's got all these all these accolades and different things.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Don't count out the small school guy. And of course
- 4:26Speaker 4: lan Kevin didn't care. He's proven it everywhere he's been.
- 4:29Speaker 4: He doesn't care who you are, what your resume is,
- 4:32Speaker 4: how many stars you got. Now this day and age,
- 4:35Speaker 4: it's a professional football, so you the money plays an impact, certainly,
- 4:41Speaker 4: money and promises things like that. And so certainly Sam
- 4:45Speaker 4: Levitt is going to be the guy once springs over,
- 4:48Speaker 4: once he gets he's a full go and he can
- 4:50Speaker 4: play it at one hundred percent again, he'll be the guy.
- 4:52Speaker 4: So this is going to be a great opportunity for
- 4:55Speaker 4: these two quarterbacks to show what they have, what they
- 4:57Speaker 4: can prove. And again I'm just I'm just telling you,
- 5:00Speaker 4: don't count out the land and Clarkia Like, it's hard
- 5:03Speaker 4: to tell a lot of the a lot of the
- 5:05Speaker 4: footage and a lot of film.
- 5:06Speaker 1: You go back.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Yeah, he looked great where he was Yeah, Chico, Yeah, no, No, Elon.
- 5:13Speaker 4: He looked great on the Elon game tape because I
- 5:17Speaker 4: watched the Lodge just and I saw the highlights. You're
- 5:20Speaker 4: not going to go back and like find a full
- 5:22Speaker 4: All eleven game to go watch it, but you can
- 5:24Speaker 4: watch the highlights.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Now.
- 5:25Speaker 4: You got to be careful watching highlights, yeah, because everybody
- 5:28Speaker 4: looks like Joe Montana a handful of plays in their career.
- 5:31Speaker 1: If you look like Joe Montaigne, then that's when you're
- 5:33Speaker 1: in trouble. That's when you got an issue.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Yes, but certainly he looks the part in those clips
- 5:39Speaker 4: that we've seen. But he's talented and Lane doesn't care.
- 5:42Speaker 4: So if he's the better guy, he's the better guy
- 5:45Speaker 4: period into story. And that's the way it should be, right.
- 5:48Speaker 4: So it's going to be exciting to watch and how
- 5:51Speaker 4: that offen, how we adapt and can implement the high
- 5:53Speaker 4: flying offense. But the main thing indeed this spring and
- 5:59Speaker 4: I'm how is he going? How is Lane and that
- 6:03Speaker 4: offense going to utilize trade as? So that is what
- 6:08Speaker 4: I'm most excited about, and I believe that if he
- 6:14Speaker 4: has utilized the right way in this high flying, fast
- 6:17Speaker 4: paced offense, he can be the most dominant player on
- 6:21Speaker 4: offense in the entire country. So it's going to be
- 6:25Speaker 4: one of these deals where if you do it the
- 6:27Speaker 4: right way, and we believe that's why Lane came here
- 6:29Speaker 4: because he is an offensive guy. He knows how to
- 6:32Speaker 4: put up points. He's got this system in place, he's
- 6:35Speaker 4: fast paced, and they everywhere he's gone, they've done it right.
- 6:39Speaker 4: So he's got this weapon that nobody else has and
- 6:43Speaker 4: that skill set, the stature, the size, all the things
- 6:48Speaker 4: that he has. He can be the most dominant player
- 6:51Speaker 4: on offense in the entire country in college football. And
- 6:54Speaker 4: that is not an overstatement. We've seen glimpse of the
- 6:56Speaker 4: of that. We saw glimpses of this past year on
- 6:59Speaker 4: a terrible offense. So when you put him in the
- 7:02Speaker 4: right situation, if you and yeah, he's a tight end,
- 7:05Speaker 4: I guess on the prayer, but he's a wide receiver.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Can you're going to split him out For the most part,
- 7:10Speaker 4: He's going to make his plays, but he is a
- 7:12Speaker 4: willing blocker certainly, But if they can find a way
- 7:15Speaker 4: to do it, he can absolutely take the college Football
- 7:18Speaker 4: World by storm this year, and I'm so excited to
- 7:20Speaker 4: see it. So I just want to see, are we
- 7:22Speaker 4: going to get a glimpse of that this spring? Or
- 7:26Speaker 4: is like, if I'm looking at it from a realistic standpoint,
- 7:30Speaker 4: this whole spring is going to be We're going to
- 7:33Speaker 4: install twenty plays and we're just going to get used
- 7:36Speaker 4: to the speed, the tempo, calling the plays at the
- 7:40Speaker 4: line of scrimmage and going fast. Like all we're trying
- 7:43Speaker 4: to do this spring is go fast, which is probably
- 7:45Speaker 4: what we're going to see. We're not going to see
- 7:47Speaker 4: a lot of the game plan, of course, not the
- 7:48Speaker 4: game plan stuff, but really I want to see how
- 7:51Speaker 4: are they going to utilize him and can they get
- 7:53Speaker 4: him going? Because sky's the limit for that kid, and
- 7:56Speaker 4: if you've got talent around him, that's going to distract
- 7:59Speaker 4: and take away double team opportunities because he's he's going
- 8:02Speaker 4: to see his fair share of double team opportunities.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Even if it's not double team and you could speak
- 8:06Speaker 3: to this way better than I could. Even if it's
- 8:08Speaker 3: not straight up double teams, there's gonna be coverages to
- 8:11Speaker 3: try to stop him.
- 8:13Speaker 4: And let me tell you something about the speed of what.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Oh that I like that. That was like a let
- 8:18Speaker 1: me tell you, let's go all right? You ready? All right?
- 8:23Speaker 4: So the defense is worse nightmare when you're trying to
- 8:26Speaker 4: game plan is speed. Yeah, And I'm not talking about
- 8:30Speaker 4: four to three speed. I'm talking about speed of snapping
- 8:33Speaker 4: the ball get into the line of scrimmage. So what
- 8:36Speaker 4: lane Kiffin's offense does. You get to the line of scrimmage,
- 8:39Speaker 4: you call it play fast and you run it.
- 8:41Speaker 1: What does that not do?
- 8:42Speaker 4: That does not give the defense of time to call
- 8:46Speaker 4: anything intricate. It's hard to call these intricate blitzes, these
- 8:51Speaker 4: walk around pressures, these disguises. You got to call pretty
- 8:54Speaker 4: base plays. And it's tough on a defense. And we
- 8:57Speaker 4: saw it. We saw it this year.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Yeah, because I mean and LSU had a very aggressive defense,
- 9:02Speaker 3: and when you're going that fast, it is hard to
- 9:04Speaker 3: get all those things going. And I hope to that point,
- 9:08Speaker 3: I hope that LSU's playmakers understand and get the tempo
- 9:13Speaker 3: that it's going to take. Because Ole Missus did. I
- 9:16Speaker 3: always talked about it was so impressive. They would make
- 9:18Speaker 3: an incredible one handed catch toe tap on the sideline
- 9:21Speaker 3: and there was no celebrating. It was they'd go grab
- 9:24Speaker 3: the ball if like, if it was on the ground,
- 9:26Speaker 3: they'd grab it and they'd rush it.
- 9:28Speaker 1: To the middle of field and spot the ball. Yep.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Like you don't just have that, Like that's practiced, and
- 9:33Speaker 3: that's a buy in to understanding how fast you want
- 9:37Speaker 3: to go because if you do that, all those exotics
- 9:40Speaker 3: that we talk about let's go out the window.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Yeah, And and there's another element to that, not only
- 9:44Speaker 4: the exotics. So, like I learned this lesson in the
- 9:48Speaker 4: NFL when I was where.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Was I at?
- 9:51Speaker 4: I was in Buffalo in the Matthew Clayton. We're in
- 9:58Speaker 4: Buffalo and for three weeks, not a big deal, and
- 10:03Speaker 4: seventeen pretty much fast to Josh, Yeah, pretty much. It
- 10:06Speaker 4: was kind of like eighteen up there. I passed it down.
- 10:12Speaker 4: So we're sitting there and we're not very good, right
- 10:14Speaker 4: and the starters out they're playing like the third string quarterback.
- 10:18Speaker 4: I had just got there. I was going to be
- 10:21Speaker 4: the backup. We're playing the Bengals at the time, which
- 10:24Speaker 4: with coach Zimmer, who was basically the godfather of the
- 10:28Speaker 4: double A gap blitz, which is if you've heard Jake
- 10:31Speaker 4: and I talk when we're watching film and stuff. There's
- 10:33Speaker 4: nothing harder to protect in the game playing against and
- 10:38Speaker 4: a double A gap muggers with two linebackers in the
- 10:41Speaker 4: A gap and when you're like an eleven personnel, it's
- 10:44Speaker 4: just it's impossible.
- 10:46Speaker 1: You have to guess.
- 10:47Speaker 4: There's a lot of guestswork involved, there's so many different things,
- 10:49Speaker 4: and he's basically the godfather, like he created this and
- 10:51Speaker 4: there at the time this was twenty fourteen or fifteen,
- 10:54Speaker 4: like nobody had come up with a great answer for it.
- 10:57Speaker 4: So we're playing them and I'm like, oh, we're gonna
- 10:59Speaker 4: get crushed. Well, we go to this game with like
- 11:02Speaker 4: ten plays, Yeah, just to go fast. They didn't get
- 11:05Speaker 4: in double A gap once in that game and we
- 11:08Speaker 4: beat them.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah, because that was their bread.
- 11:10Speaker 4: But because you went so fast, you did not allow
- 11:14Speaker 4: them to get into those exotic looks. Right now, the
- 11:16Speaker 4: other element that this is going to bring in with
- 11:18Speaker 4: this speed, you also can't uh you also can't call
- 11:23Speaker 4: it exotic coverages, which means double teams. It's going to
- 11:26Speaker 4: be hard to double team. Trade is green in this
- 11:31Speaker 4: the speed up, hurry up. The LSU offense is going
- 11:33Speaker 4: to operate in and I don't know if lane Kiffin's
- 11:36Speaker 4: ever had a weapon like this guy.
- 11:39Speaker 2: No.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I mean his tight end last year was good at
- 11:41Speaker 3: Old Miss, but he was built more like I know
- 11:43Speaker 3: you hate this, but he was built more like a
- 11:44Speaker 3: y tight end than a trade is tight end, like
- 11:46Speaker 3: a traditional you know, two hundred and.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Right sixty five pound tight end.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Now, I know Lane's had a lot of talent, but
- 11:53Speaker 4: like you look at the just the weapon. Yeah, of
- 11:58Speaker 4: the size, the speed, hands, the ability.
- 12:01Speaker 1: To blocker, which is important in his role.
- 12:03Speaker 4: You aren't going to be able, of course, the pressures.
- 12:06Speaker 4: You're going to have a lot more vanilla pressures and
- 12:08Speaker 4: defenses you face, but they're not going to get an
- 12:11Speaker 4: opportunity to double a lot. Like if you go into
- 12:14Speaker 4: the huddle in the red zone and operate in a
- 12:18Speaker 4: normal tempo, you can call these plays. All right, we're
- 12:20Speaker 4: gonna shade the safety over, we're going to double team.
- 12:22Speaker 4: They're gonna if they're going to score, they're not going
- 12:25Speaker 4: to score with that guy, right, you shut that one
- 12:27Speaker 4: person out and make them make a play somewhere else.
- 12:29Speaker 4: It's just hard to do that. So I'm excited to
- 12:30Speaker 4: see it. I really do think that he's uh gonna
- 12:34Speaker 4: be on the trajectory of certainly all American, certainly all
- 12:38Speaker 4: world whatever. Whatever the accolade is for a tight end,
- 12:42Speaker 4: he's going to get it.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Ooh, Mackie award. Pretty sure, pretty sure it's award. I
- 12:47Speaker 3: feel good about that. Absolutely, I feel pretty good about that.
- 12:52Speaker 3: That's a great breakdown there, Bud. I mean, you went
- 12:55Speaker 3: hulk Holgan, you had notes.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Well facts.
- 12:58Speaker 4: I had to redeem my self from when you left
- 13:00Speaker 4: me by myself when in a baseball segment, O.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Great, what the listeners need to be fair?
- 13:07Speaker 3: The guy who had the blower turned up to an
- 13:09Speaker 3: eleven and he like he was right there and I
- 13:12Speaker 3: couldn't hear a word Ta Ta was saying.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I could.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I didn't even know if they were throwing it back
- 13:15Speaker 3: to us at the point, so you know, I had
- 13:17Speaker 3: to go kindly ask him.
- 13:19Speaker 4: So I don't know, Like, I don't know if you
- 13:21Speaker 4: are like next, like when if the lawnmower guy comes back,
- 13:23Speaker 4: if you want to bring up the warn out ran
- 13:25Speaker 4: then just leave. Is that what you're gonna do next?
- 13:29Speaker 1: I'm not, Well, you already covered that. We did, We
- 13:32Speaker 1: covered that earlier in the show. Yeah, obviously, all right,
- 13:36Speaker 1: it wasn't lawnmower. It's a leaf blower. Fine, I think
- 13:39Speaker 1: we did get in the of the leaf though. It's fine.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Who's right behind us snuck up?
- 13:43Speaker 1: He did? All right.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Well, when we get back from break, you got to
- 13:48Speaker 4: give us what you're excited about on spring ball, because
- 13:51Speaker 4: I kind of took over the mic there.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I said, that's great, that was great. That's that's exactly
- 13:55Speaker 1: what I was hoping for.
- 13:56Speaker 3: And I will give you what I'm looking forward to
- 13:59Speaker 3: the most when we come back here. We are at
- 14:02Speaker 3: U Club, going to be here obviously all morning long,
- 14:05Speaker 3: and so.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Looking forward to spring football. Unfortunately, their morning practice team,
- 14:13Speaker 1: I know.
- 14:14Speaker 4: That's see, that's the only thing I'm a little bit
- 14:16Speaker 4: nervous about the season. Not many championship teams practice in
- 14:21Speaker 4: the morning. A lot of them are moving into the mornings.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 14:23Speaker 3: I mean, I guess because the school portion of it's
- 14:26Speaker 3: like online now.
- 14:27Speaker 1: For all these kids.
- 14:27Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I just think it's real dumb. Yeah, what do you
- 14:30Speaker 1: want a midday or an afternoon afternoon? I want to
- 14:33Speaker 1: go in there.
- 14:33Speaker 4: I want them to get this start getting their ankles
- 14:35Speaker 4: taped about twelve forty five to one, get into the
- 14:38Speaker 4: meeting rooms at one thirty one forty five. Okay, walk
- 14:42Speaker 4: throughs at two forty five. So we wanted to pro
- 14:45Speaker 4: schedule and practice from three to seven. Three to seven though, yeah, wow,
- 14:48Speaker 4: I don't think they can do that anyway hard All right, again,
- 14:51Speaker 4: we are here with Louisiana Restaurant Association, the Baton Rouge chapter.
- 14:55Speaker 3: It is their annual golf tournament. A big part of
- 14:58Speaker 3: the impact is pro Start. It's now in seventy schools statewide,
- 15:02Speaker 3: including twenty one right here in Baton Rouge, developing the
- 15:05Speaker 3: next generation of talent. Congrats to Shall Met High School.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Shout out Devin snow Shau Masen. Ok, he didn't go there, though,
- 15:12Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe where do you get high school?
- 15:14Speaker 3: They just won both culinary and management at the Louisiana
- 15:17Speaker 3: Pro Start Invitational and will represent the state at nationals
- 15:21Speaker 3: in Baltimore. Events like this helped make those opportunities possible.
- 15:25Speaker 3: So again, shout out to lr A. We will take
- 15:28Speaker 3: a break. I'll give you my spring football take thing
- 15:30Speaker 3: I'm most excited about when we come back here on
- 15:33Speaker 3: OTB off.
- 15:35Speaker 1: The bench, all right.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Go to gcopnet dot com Gulf Coast Office Products the
- 15:44Speaker 3: leader in office solutions here in the Gulf South.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Now, the thing that sets them apart is they can
- 15:51Speaker 1: handle anything.
- 15:51Speaker 3: They got multiple locations, Baton Rouge, Lafyette, north Shore, New Ones,
- 15:54Speaker 3: they got all of that right. They have all the
- 15:56Speaker 3: latest technology, all the new toys in the office game.
- 16:00Speaker 1: So that's good.
- 16:01Speaker 3: But the best part is you get that with incredible
- 16:04Speaker 3: customer service of a mom and popping.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I mean that in the best way possible.
- 16:08Speaker 3: The person you're going to call and that picks up
- 16:10Speaker 3: the phone is the person that helps you.
- 16:11Speaker 1: They don't transfer you seven times.
- 16:13Speaker 3: They don't, you know, kind of give you the run
- 16:15Speaker 3: around and say that they'll be there to fix your issue,
- 16:18Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden they're not there in
- 16:19Speaker 3: that window.
- 16:19Speaker 1: They'll see you the next day. That's not the case
- 16:22Speaker 1: every time.
- 16:22Speaker 3: They are going to make sure that they get to
- 16:24Speaker 3: the bottom of every single thing.
- 16:27Speaker 1: And that is gcop net dot Com our.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Gold Coast Office Products Louisiana as a leader when it
- 16:31Speaker 4: comes to that office tech. And what's part is that

- 16:40Speaker 4: Golf Coast office Products, gcopnet dot Com.
- 17:01Speaker 5: Time off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flin,
- 17:18Speaker 5: presented by by You Automotive.
- 17:25Speaker 1: A couple of things here.
- 17:28Speaker 3: First off, sir, you have seventy six missed calls, two
- 17:32Speaker 3: hundred and sixty two text messages, three four hundred and
- 17:35Speaker 3: five emails. Sure that is unacceptable, sir, and then move
- 17:39Speaker 3: that back that's yours.
- 17:40Speaker 4: I think those are voicemails even worse. Okay, So all right,
- 17:46Speaker 4: look by my home alarm company, fantastic.
- 17:51Speaker 1: They're great.
- 17:52Speaker 4: However, once one of the like the little batteries and
- 17:56Speaker 4: one of the sensors goes down, they call me about
- 17:59Speaker 4: nine times a day to tell me my back all right.
- 18:02Speaker 3: And I think it's the text messages that's the most surprising.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Like emails, like, you know, I'll let my email kind
- 18:07Speaker 3: of get out of hand a little bit, yep. Text messages, no,
- 18:10Speaker 3: I mean two hundred and something like those poor people.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's what happens.
- 18:15Speaker 4: And to people who know me and they know that,
- 18:18Speaker 4: sometimes I don't get back to them.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Every now and then.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Minus is sometimes I get I get it all distracted, yeah,
- 18:24Speaker 4: throughout the day, and that's okay, you know.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I was doing a card show this weekend. I
- 18:31Speaker 3: was doing a card show this weekend. It was a
- 18:32Speaker 3: lot of fun.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Shout out and.
- 18:36Speaker 3: They said, yeah, we uh, you know, we'd like to
- 18:40Speaker 3: have t o TV here like you and Mett together.
- 18:42Speaker 1: We reached out to him a couple of times and yep,
- 18:44Speaker 1: and then I'll yeah, that's on me. Loising a card
- 18:47Speaker 1: con was the shows a great success? I think? I
- 18:49Speaker 1: mean I was there Saturdays packed, Samara Dixon.
- 18:52Speaker 4: So if you do know me and I haven't got
- 18:54Speaker 4: back to you, it's not.
- 18:56Speaker 1: You, it's me. Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 3: So you look your stuff in the mirror something, look
- 19:00Speaker 3: yourself in the mareor we want to talk about this
- 19:02Speaker 3: chair and this week.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Chair are you talking about? Yeah?
- 19:05Speaker 3: Those chair that clearly Tea bopsat in that chair many
- 19:08Speaker 3: many times. Yeah, and you know he's pretty hard on
- 19:12Speaker 3: chairs too, But he didn't break it.
- 19:14Speaker 1: You did.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I did break a rocking chair. I don't know how.
- 19:20Speaker 4: I mean, have you never been to Cracker Brow, my guy?
- 19:24Speaker 4: You didn't know first time? First time I tried to
- 19:27Speaker 4: rock sideways? I guess I don't know. Yeah, I broke
- 19:30Speaker 4: a chair, guys, it's you know, it's something that everybody does.
- 19:33Speaker 4: At least once in their life, and it's always embarrassing, right,
- 19:38Speaker 4: But gotta remember, muscle weighs more than fit.
- 19:41Speaker 1: That's true. That's true. I mean you're about to be
- 19:43Speaker 1: a hybrid rock star. It's true.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Oh my god, don't remind me. Friday morning, be doing
- 19:49Speaker 4: a high Rocks event.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Live call into the show.
- 19:52Speaker 4: I've been training one to two times a week for
- 19:54Speaker 4: the last couple of months.
- 19:55Speaker 1: It's right. We're excited. It's a lot for me. Excited,
- 19:58Speaker 1: excited to hear how it goes all right?
- 20:01Speaker 3: Spring football take from Matthew earlier, great breakdown trade as
- 20:05Speaker 3: Green probably think he's most excited about I am going
- 20:09Speaker 3: to go he probably no surprise here. I'm going to
- 20:13Speaker 3: go with the running backs. If they had one Harlan
- 20:17Speaker 3: Berry and Caden Durham, why am I going to be
- 20:19Speaker 3: excited for them? Well, I'm excited because Lshu's run concepts
- 20:23Speaker 3: for horrid last year. They were basic, they were vanilla.
- 20:27Speaker 3: They had no diversity in the run game, and it
- 20:30Speaker 3: didn't set up anybody for success. It didn't set up
- 20:32Speaker 3: the running backs for success, it didn't set up the
- 20:36Speaker 3: offensive line for success. It just it didn't because you
- 20:40Speaker 3: didn't really do different things, Like, you kind of ran
- 20:42Speaker 3: the same stuff and you didn't switch it up, and
- 20:45Speaker 3: teams knew when you're running the football you were going
- 20:47Speaker 3: to run out of mostly eleven personnel and is going
- 20:50Speaker 3: to be zoned out of shotgun. It doesn't really terrify anyone.
- 20:54Speaker 3: And you tried a couple of times to run duo,
- 20:57Speaker 3: but you were still predictable when you did it. It
- 20:58Speaker 3: didn't really matter. So let's go back to last year's
- 21:02Speaker 3: Old Miss running game. Okay, they ran the football five
- 21:05Speaker 3: hundred and thirty nine times.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I like that, But the thing I like even more.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Of those five thirty nine they ran outside zone nine
- 21:14Speaker 3: percent of the time, inside zone twenty eight percent of
- 21:16Speaker 3: the time, duo twenty six percent of the time, power
- 21:19Speaker 3: fourteen percent of the time. They ran a power get
- 21:22Speaker 3: out of seventy three of them ELDT sec. Yeah, LSU
- 21:25Speaker 3: didn't run a single one.
- 21:26Speaker 1: You can do that. You can, it's not a rule. Nope.
- 21:28Speaker 1: You can pull the guard.
- 21:30Speaker 3: You can even pull two people on counter, which they
- 21:32Speaker 3: ran twelve percent of the time.
- 21:34Speaker 1: They ran draw eighteen times.
- 21:36Speaker 3: They ran pull lead twenty three times, which was five
- 21:39Speaker 3: percent of their run game. So as you can tell
- 21:42Speaker 3: very diverse because if I sat here and I pulled
- 21:46Speaker 3: up what LSU ran.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Just a year ago, they threw some counters in there.
- 21:50Speaker 3: They ran inside and outside zone a combination of sixty
- 21:54Speaker 3: percent of the time. Counter was the only change of
- 21:57Speaker 3: pace thing that they had, and they ran thirty eight them.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Look at that number, Matthew, for our listeners, tell them
- 22:03Speaker 3: what that highlighted number right there says right there, that
- 22:06Speaker 3: one right there, and oh, that's a zero under PWR
- 22:09Speaker 3: with power zero zero percent of the time. That can't
- 22:13Speaker 3: happen in no run game in America. It can't happen
- 22:17Speaker 3: at this level. It can't happen at the pro level.
- 22:19Speaker 3: It can't happen on Greg Olsen's seventh grade team that
- 22:21Speaker 3: him and Luke Keigley coach together.
- 22:23Speaker 1: It can't happen on any level of football. Right.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Hell, I'm pretty sure we got closer running of power
- 22:28Speaker 3: in flag football last year than LSU football actually did.
- 22:32Speaker 3: All Right, diversity in the run game helps everybody. It
- 22:35Speaker 3: keeps the defense on their toes, file them to say,
- 22:40Speaker 3: oh gosh, here's that tendency where they're going to run
- 22:42Speaker 3: inside zone at a gun. So for the offensive line,
- 22:45Speaker 3: that helps them. But for the running backs, this is
- 22:48Speaker 3: a running back group that's still both averaged over four
- 22:51Speaker 3: yards of carry and I don't know how in the
- 22:53Speaker 3: running scheme that they were running behind. So we know
- 22:57Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin wants to run a football. Don't allow the
- 22:59Speaker 3: ten bow and the fast paced nature of this offense
- 23:02Speaker 3: to think it's air rate.
- 23:03Speaker 1: It is not air rate. It is we want to.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Run the football first and foremost before we do anything else.
- 23:09Speaker 1: That's what we want to do. All right. So you've
- 23:11Speaker 1: got two backs that are very capable. All right.
- 23:14Speaker 3: You've got Kaden Durham, who well, you know, freshman of
- 23:18Speaker 3: the Year in the SEC. Going back a couple of
- 23:19Speaker 3: years ago. You've got Harlan Berry, who I really like.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Maybe also maybe if Farland Berry is averaging nine yards
- 23:26Speaker 4: of carry, maybe give him a carry in the second half.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Maybe feature him in the second half as well.
- 23:31Speaker 3: That's right, the running back rotation which was head scratching,
- 23:35Speaker 3: to say the least at times even last year.
- 23:37Speaker 1: So go out there, run the football.
- 23:42Speaker 3: What you're going to do, be diverse in the run game,
- 23:44Speaker 3: which you've always done, and you're gonna see much better results.
- 23:47Speaker 3: So that's what I'm looking forward to the most. It
- 23:49Speaker 3: helps everybody out. Like I can't imagine being an offensive
- 23:53Speaker 3: line that did not have the opportunity to run a
- 23:56Speaker 3: stinking power down down in a round, the most basic
- 24:01Speaker 3: concept in football. I mean, my guy, Jim Taylor and
- 24:05Speaker 3: the Packers, they were running power, all right. John Riggins
- 24:09Speaker 3: for the Redskins, he was running power. Mike all Stop
- 24:12Speaker 3: for the Bucks was running power. I mean, we could
- 24:14Speaker 3: want football across football timeline. Power has been power and
- 24:19Speaker 3: you ran goose egg, not a single one, so you.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Know else ran power besides Jim Taylor. Also the Seahawks
- 24:26Speaker 4: this past year.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Yah're pretty good ad. So it's not like an outdated No,
- 24:30Speaker 1: it's not.
- 24:31Speaker 3: It's like it blew my mind and like you would
- 24:34Speaker 3: ask about it, and like you should always want feel
- 24:36Speaker 3: good about our guards in that situation.
- 24:38Speaker 1: How do you know? How do you know because I
- 24:42Speaker 1: went to practice a bunch, never saw one there.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Well, they fit every every week, every day they practiced
- 24:48Speaker 4: for an hour and fifteen minutes.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Brother, that's true, so they got time. They didn't have
- 24:52Speaker 1: time to time. But like I would get the answer,
- 24:54Speaker 1: like we didn't love our guards in power? Like what
- 24:58Speaker 1: how do you know if you don't do it.
- 25:00Speaker 3: And Power's not a practice play like you can run it,
- 25:02Speaker 3: you got to run it. I mean you got to
- 25:04Speaker 3: work on it. Power is going to be better. It's
- 25:06Speaker 3: a violent run. How are you going to do a
- 25:09Speaker 3: violent run in practice and thing that you know what
- 25:13Speaker 3: the outcome is going to be because practice you can't
- 25:17Speaker 3: play it the same like you can try to do
- 25:18Speaker 3: the same things. You can simulate like what you're trying
- 25:20Speaker 3: to do. But it's a violent run. You got people
- 25:24Speaker 3: crashing down. You got a guard that's pulling around for
- 25:27Speaker 3: a kickout violently, and then the running backs going a
- 25:30Speaker 3: gap to expand and he's hitting it downhill full speed.
- 25:34Speaker 3: It's hard to get that in practice. But you're basing
- 25:36Speaker 3: you not running that play off. We don't like our
- 25:38Speaker 3: guards in practice running Power, Oh.
- 25:40Speaker 4: You have to you have to run. You have to
- 25:43Speaker 4: run inside or inside run drills. You have to run
- 25:45Speaker 4: nine on sevens, you have to do line like they
- 25:48Speaker 4: didn't do those things in practice.
- 25:50Speaker 1: So how can you work on it?
- 25:52Speaker 4: And Jake, there's no when you run power, you have
- 25:56Speaker 4: to commit your tackles to blocking run plays instead of
- 26:00Speaker 4: holding up for potential RPO passes and behind it. So Yeah,
- 26:05Speaker 4: we were just that that is a very there's a
- 26:08Speaker 4: lot to be excited about going into this season certainly,
- 26:11Speaker 4: and again like this is and this is coming from
- 26:13Speaker 4: a guy that just despises spring football just from a
- 26:17Speaker 4: I think it's so overrated and you don't get a
- 26:19Speaker 4: lot out of it from a from a you know,
- 26:22Speaker 4: certainly a fans perspective, but as a player, I hated
- 26:25Speaker 4: it wasn't like there's you're you're not working towards anything,
- 26:29Speaker 4: but this year in particular, very excited just because you're
- 26:33Speaker 4: coming from the struggles offensive struggles from the past year.
- 26:37Speaker 4: I can't wait, Like we haven't even brought up like
- 26:40Speaker 4: Blake Baker coming back and being able to even hone
- 26:42Speaker 4: in his defensive strategy even more because he guess what
- 26:46Speaker 4: he gets to learn from a guy that everybody struggles
- 26:49Speaker 4: against offensively, So I expect that the defense.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Will be better and better. But certainly this is LSU.
- 26:56Speaker 1: We've got to be able to run to.
- 26:58Speaker 4: And so we know that's a you know, as much
- 27:00Speaker 4: as Elaine gets credit for, you know, throwing the ball
- 27:03Speaker 4: in the passing game and touchdowns and all that and
- 27:06Speaker 4: fast paced stuff, he doesn't get enough credit for the
- 27:09Speaker 4: commitment that he does have to that running game. And
- 27:12Speaker 4: it's a quarterback's best friend, it's a receiver's best friend,
- 27:15Speaker 4: it's an offense's best friend. If you can sit there
- 27:19Speaker 4: snap the ball, you know we're running it. I know
- 27:21Speaker 4: we're running it. Let's see what happens.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Spring football.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Believe tomorrow tomorrow is the first practice there again, going
- 27:30Speaker 3: to be early. So we got a little some Saints jerseys,
- 27:34Speaker 3: maybe the number twenty two or a sheet sheat from
- 27:40Speaker 3: a year ago.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I guess, so figure it out. One of those falls
- 27:48Speaker 1: off the track. I got you, bro. All right, Hopefully
- 27:54Speaker 1: they start like practicing like ten. Maybe we can go
- 27:57Speaker 1: over there for a little bit.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And I think they're gonna practice Lauer in an hour,
- 27:59Speaker 3: so we'll get there in time.
- 28:02Speaker 1: We'll see in an hour.
- 28:03Speaker 3: All right, more OTV when we come back here live
- 28:06Speaker 3: from you Club off the bench, they go to fabt
- 28:13Speaker 3: dot com. Fabt dot com First American Bank in Trust.
- 28:16Speaker 3: They've been in the game for over a hundred years.
- 28:20Speaker 3: That's right, over one hundred years. They've been in the
- 28:22Speaker 3: game for over a century, and that's because they do
- 28:24Speaker 3: things the right way. You don't stay in the game
- 28:26Speaker 3: that long unless you're doing everything the right way unless
- 28:28Speaker 3: you are rooted in the local community.
- 28:31Speaker 1: And that's the.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Best part about FABT because those decisions, your home loan,

- 28:57Speaker 4: it's personal, residential, whatever it is, make sure you're doing
- 28:59Speaker 4: it with local company that's making a local decision. So
- 29:02Speaker 4: when you call them, there's no phone trees, there's no
- 29:04Speaker 4: out of state decisions, just honest banking built on trusts.
- 29:07Speaker 4: First American Banking Trust, fabt dot.

- 30:10Speaker 3: enough to drive around a Jeep black Widow over the
- 30:12Speaker 3: last couple of weeks, it is incredible. I mean it
- 30:15Speaker 3: has been incredible, whether top down, every future you can imagine.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Go to buy you Automotive dot Com, Buy you Automotive
- 30:22Speaker 3: dot Com. Uh, there's somebody that just got dollar dollar
- 30:26Speaker 3: bills in the National Football League. Some might have a
- 30:29Speaker 3: pretty good little football player there, somebody that certainly bursts
- 30:33Speaker 3: into the scene this year as maybe one of the
- 30:35Speaker 3: best at his position in the NFL. And well, he's
- 30:39Speaker 3: not gonna have to worry about financial difficulties anytime soon.
- 30:42Speaker 1: No, he won't.
- 30:43Speaker 4: He'll be okay, jsn UP in Seattle four years, one
- 30:48Speaker 4: hundred and sixty eight point six million dollars.
- 30:51Speaker 3: And Jackson Smith and JIGBA for those out there that
- 30:54Speaker 3: aren't in the Linga.
- 30:55Speaker 4: With one hundred and twenty million of that fully give.
- 30:59Speaker 1: One hundred and twenty million guaranteed.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Twenty million dollars. Gre like these guaranteed numbers are absolutely
- 31:07Speaker 4: unheard of and insane, So good for him. I mean,
- 31:11Speaker 4: I'm hoping that I've said this for years, that all
- 31:14Speaker 4: the contracts get fully guaranteed. You know what, just like
- 31:16Speaker 4: every other sports in the whole world, maybe make a
- 31:21Speaker 4: contract guaranteed, so if you're gonna do it, if you're
- 31:24Speaker 4: gonna pay the big bucks. I mean, good for him.
- 31:26Speaker 4: What an incredible season he had certainly and certainly got
- 31:33Speaker 4: me thinking a little bit as I try to go
- 31:36Speaker 4: back to play receiver about state income tax, because Washington
- 31:41Speaker 4: is your first thing that you do in Washington has
- 31:45Speaker 4: no state income tax, so that's a pretty big raise.
- 31:49Speaker 4: But he better I hope he frontloaded this because the
- 31:52Speaker 4: state of Washington voted in starting to twenty twenty eight
- 31:56Speaker 4: a millionaire's tax of nine point nine percent for anybody
- 32:00Speaker 4: making one million dollars or more of income. So he's
- 32:04Speaker 4: going to get a ten percent pay decrease in two years.
- 32:09Speaker 1: If you're successful, we're gonna tax you.
- 32:12Speaker 4: So yeah, it's ten percent nine point nine percent on
- 32:14Speaker 4: a millionaire tax coming to twenty twenty eight. So if
- 32:16Speaker 4: anybody worried about Jackson Smith Nijigma's income, how much he's
- 32:22Speaker 4: gonna clear, Well, he's gonna clear a lot of the
- 32:23Speaker 4: next two years, but ten percent less than twenty twenty eight.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder, like if you.
- 32:28Speaker 3: If it's one hundred and twenty million guaranteed, I wonder
- 32:31Speaker 3: how much, Like initially because he I mean, look, he
- 32:34Speaker 3: knows that's coming, right, right, So he had to front
- 32:37Speaker 3: end that thing like no doubt.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Right, And it seems crazy to think that and John
- 32:44Speaker 4: would try to take care of him. Two agents kind
- 32:47Speaker 4: of didn't matter to John Schneider. Yeah, it's funny, how
- 32:50Speaker 4: like you wouldn't think people would make decisions based on
- 32:53Speaker 4: little things like that. But that's a significant amount.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Uh yeah, yeah, ten percent of one hundred and.
- 33:00Speaker 1: One hundred and twenty million guarantee hundred.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Six hundred and sixty eight point six million. Yeah, it's
- 33:05Speaker 3: a pretty big number. Bud pretty big, pretty large. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 3: that's that's yeah, they got that news sweet. Well, so
- 33:14Speaker 3: the Seahawks did have let's see, before this, they had
- 33:17Speaker 3: forty two point one million dollars in salary cap space.
- 33:20Speaker 1: They spent it so they had room to do this.
- 33:23Speaker 3: It's pretty incredible the Seahawks, I think we talked about
- 33:26Speaker 3: this on this show, but of dead money, to tell
- 33:29Speaker 3: you how good John Schneider and that staff are, they
- 33:32Speaker 3: only had four hundred and eighty three thousand dollars of
- 33:34Speaker 3: dead cap money. Say it again, they only had four
- 33:39Speaker 3: hundred and eighty three thousand dollars of dead cap money.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Yeah, well, we the blueprints out there.
- 33:44Speaker 3: They have one hundred and thirteen million in dead cat money.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Don't worry about it.
- 33:48Speaker 3: One hundred and thirteen million, and the Super Bowl champions
- 33:52Speaker 3: have four hundred and something thousand of dead cap money.
- 33:55Speaker 4: It's not towarding Bud. We had the best draft glass
- 33:58Speaker 4: last year, true, and he hit some bangers in free agency.
- 34:04Speaker 3: You know how hard that is to have the roster
- 34:06Speaker 3: that the Seahawks have and only have four hundred and
- 34:08Speaker 3: eighty three thousand dollars a dead cap money.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we've turned every decision they've made, it's been positive.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Well, the blueprints out there how to successfully be a GM,
- 34:17Speaker 4: and John Snyder is the best GM in the NFL.
- 34:20Speaker 4: And I don't even know if that it could be
- 34:23Speaker 4: argued if you like a guy or like your team,
- 34:25Speaker 4: you got a good player, you got a quarterback, whatever,
- 34:28Speaker 4: But if you want to go, look to see who's
- 34:30Speaker 4: done the best job top to bottom. Pretty much every
- 34:33Speaker 4: aspect of his job. He's completely built a team and
- 34:38Speaker 4: coaching staff twice.
- 34:40Speaker 1: They brought him to a super Bowl.
- 34:42Speaker 4: Sure, completely different, thinking about completely different teams players, There's
- 34:47Speaker 4: nothing the same besides maybe a couple of strength coaches
- 34:50Speaker 4: and athletic trainers.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Right, that's it.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe some secretaries are the same, there's some carryover.
- 34:55Speaker 4: But he has built the team from scratch through the
- 34:58Speaker 4: draft with new coaches twice and won a super Bowl.
- 35:03Speaker 4: And you could argue with not one of the top
- 35:06Speaker 4: quarterbacks in the NFL either on both teams.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah, no, doubt be the worst one time. I mean
- 35:14Speaker 1: that guy, that guy U Limited. It is crazy.
- 35:18Speaker 3: You look at the playoff teams, It's like Chargers only
- 35:20Speaker 3: have five million a dead cap. You look at the
- 35:24Speaker 3: let's see Seahawks. I mentioned the four hundred and eighty
- 35:26Speaker 3: three thousand. You look at the Panthers only sixteen, forty
- 35:31Speaker 3: nine Ers do have thirty nine.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Steelers only have twelve.
- 35:34Speaker 3: The Broncos only have one point two million, The Rams
- 35:37Speaker 3: only had ten million. It kind of gives you an idea,
- 35:39Speaker 3: like of these front offices and how well they're doing
- 35:43Speaker 3: and the decisions that they're making and not giving out
- 35:46Speaker 3: just contracts to Jags just a guy, because like, look
- 35:52Speaker 3: the Dolphins eighty nine million bad football team, the Jets
- 35:58Speaker 3: ninety one million bad football team. The Raiders fifty two
- 36:01Speaker 3: million bad football team is one hundred and thirteen million
- 36:04Speaker 3: bad football team.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I'm sure we'll get some other back because look, the
- 36:08Speaker 4: phones are blowing up with the stare Car trade situation.
- 36:12Speaker 4: We're gonna get something good out of it. Yeah, we're
- 36:14Speaker 4: gonna get something. Look, it's not a great situation on
- 36:17Speaker 4: the dead cast bace like that is. That's a makes
- 36:20Speaker 4: you sick to your stomach as a fan base. Yeah,
- 36:22Speaker 4: it's not your money, but you understand it's not your money,
- 36:25Speaker 4: but it puts you in a bad spot. Yeah, just
- 36:27Speaker 4: from a business standpoint, an overall organization standpoint, it's not
- 36:30Speaker 4: a great look. But you know what, I think Vicky's
- 36:33Speaker 4: learned from his mistakes of the past, and certainly there
- 36:35Speaker 4: have been plenty of mistakes to learn from.
- 36:39Speaker 1: But let's be positive. Okay. The salary cap looks good.
- 36:42Speaker 1: All right, We've got good players. See got a branch
- 36:44Speaker 1: ase QB.
- 36:46Speaker 4: We hit on the draft last year, We're about to
- 36:47Speaker 4: hit on a second draft in a row. Make a limits,
- 36:50Speaker 4: we learn from mistakes. And he's on a heater right now?
- 36:53Speaker 1: Yeap?
- 36:53Speaker 3: All right, thirteen point two million in cap space. There
- 36:56Speaker 3: you go, boom, so you can sign your draft class.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Then that's all you need.
- 37:03Speaker 3: The Bears are two hundred and forty three thousand under
- 37:07Speaker 3: the cap. They're still gonna well because you had to
- 37:10Speaker 3: be under about the start of league year, so they
- 37:12Speaker 3: bare minimum, so they're gonna have to still.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Make moves to sign their draft class. Yep, you got it.
- 37:18Speaker 1: How did you feel if you're the Dolphins? Not great?
- 37:21Speaker 1: I don't know about to say you have.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Two point one million dollars in cap space and now
- 37:26Speaker 3: they're dead money because of the two A deal. It
- 37:29Speaker 3: just became a like official in the books earlier. They're
- 37:31Speaker 3: one hundred and seventy nine million in dead cap.
- 37:34Speaker 6: Space, one hundred and seventy nine million dollars in dead money.
- 37:40Speaker 6: Saints fans, you're not last any the last the Jets
- 37:44Speaker 6: went up to one hundred and eleven million.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Let's go. Good.
- 37:47Speaker 3: God, if I'm a Dolphins fan, I've got two point
- 37:50Speaker 3: one million to spend, which is nothing. You're gonna have
- 37:53Speaker 3: to still make moves to sign your draft class, and
- 37:55Speaker 3: you're paying one hundred and eighty million dollars to nobody
- 37:58Speaker 3: that's gonna help you this year. That's cool, Yeah, that's cool.
- 38:03Speaker 3: You got a guy who was not a great college
- 38:06Speaker 3: head football coach as your head football coach. As far
- 38:10Speaker 3: as like success, I mean, I'm not saying like you
- 38:12Speaker 3: didn't know football.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Obviously does, but in Boston.
- 38:15Speaker 3: College, they weren't very you know, they didn't go out
- 38:18Speaker 3: there and win the league or anything.
- 38:20Speaker 1: He's now your coach.
- 38:21Speaker 3: You took a big gamble on Malik Willis to be
- 38:23Speaker 3: your starting quarterback.
- 38:25Speaker 4: We'll see how that one plays out. I mean, certainly
- 38:27Speaker 4: shown signs. Yeah, and that was really good. But I
- 38:32Speaker 4: mean I think the Packers, I mean I think two,
- 38:34Speaker 4: I think he's still just you know, two and two
- 38:37Speaker 4: as a starter, I believe if I remember off the
- 38:39Speaker 4: top of my head correctly.
- 38:43Speaker 1: So thank God for the Dolphins. Is no the Dolphins.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Dolphins there, they're I'm not gonna say they're the worst,
- 38:49Speaker 4: but they're they're just never like you can clip this
- 38:53Speaker 4: if you want. They're never gonna win the super Bowl again.
- 38:56Speaker 4: It's not gonna happen. It's a last one. They won
- 39:00Speaker 4: the year they went perfect seventy two. Yeah, they'll always
- 39:04Speaker 4: have that year. Yeah, but they're just not gonna win it.
- 39:07Speaker 4: It's just upset it. There's too many distractions in Miami
- 39:11Speaker 4: for kids that are twenty two to thirty years old.
- 39:15Speaker 4: There's just too many distractions to win a championship. Well,
- 39:19Speaker 4: let's were talking about distractions. Too many David Busters, too
- 39:23Speaker 4: many Dave of busters, got too many movie theaters.
- 39:26Speaker 1: That's right, tock ops. Go see a picture show.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Skating rinks, too many of them.
- 39:32Speaker 1: That's what last ye should tell us. Go see a

- 42:30Speaker 4: Hey, look I've found you know, people know me. You know,
- 42:34Speaker 4: I'm a golfer, been to a lot of golf tournaments.
- 42:37Speaker 4: And there's a right way to do it. Yeah, there's
- 42:39Speaker 4: a not so right way to look. At the end
- 42:40Speaker 4: of the day, it's golf, so you're not going to complain, right,
- 42:42Speaker 4: But you go to these tournaments and I can tell
- 42:45Speaker 4: you just looking around Loo's in a restaurant association.
- 42:48Speaker 1: They doing it right.
- 42:49Speaker 4: For one, it's it's pretty it's it's easy for them
- 42:52Speaker 4: to do it right. Certainly because when you go to
- 42:54Speaker 4: a good golf tournament. You want a nice course, Yeah,
- 42:57Speaker 4: you wanted a lot of people. You want to eat
- 43:00Speaker 4: good food, you want to have good beverages, which I'm
- 43:03Speaker 4: seeing everywhere, and you want to raise money for a
- 43:06Speaker 4: good cause as well.
- 43:07Speaker 1: So those are all things and you want to compete
- 43:09Speaker 1: a little bit. I got to compete.
- 43:11Speaker 4: But the food portion is what really sets off an
- 43:14Speaker 4: elite tournament from an okay tournament. And so certainly Louisiana
- 43:19Speaker 4: Restaurant Association is gonna do it right. So I'm looking
- 43:22Speaker 4: around all these tents. This one does it right. And
- 43:26Speaker 4: of course raising money for fans out for all Louisiana
- 43:29Speaker 4: Restaurant Associations. Portion of days funds going directly to l
- 43:33Speaker 4: R Education Foundation, which supports the workforce development across the state,
- 43:37Speaker 4: and just keeping their restaurant industry leader, which is such
- 43:40Speaker 4: an important person. Portion of just Louisiana culture is the food, right,
- 43:45Speaker 4: So the LR doing the doing, the doing the Lord's work,
- 43:49Speaker 4: keeping the good food in our plates right there.
- 43:52Speaker 1: So looking around like good gifts too.
- 43:53Speaker 4: I saw this Weber grill over here that is stars
- 43:57Speaker 4: and stripes. It's a stars and stripes flag, Weber grill.
- 44:02Speaker 4: I'm about to sign up right now? Yeah, actually I
- 44:05Speaker 4: might just take I might just leave it, leave with it.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Well, I mean we're eligible, we don't we don't work
- 44:09Speaker 3: for l r A. We can do whatever we want. Hey,
- 44:13Speaker 3: can I get that Weber?
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 44:15Speaker 4: Hey, so this is coming home with me? How do
- 44:18Speaker 4: I make that happen? Because I'm an American? I love
- 44:21Speaker 4: America and I love the grill. The U s a
- 44:26Speaker 4: grilling all the way. See what I did then, not
- 44:30Speaker 4: a huge deal. It's not being a radio bro.
- 44:34Speaker 3: It's not so you're not gonna be able to play
- 44:35Speaker 3: today though. You got to be a businessman, right.
- 44:37Speaker 4: You got to be a businessman. Got a little parent
- 44:40Speaker 4: teacher conference.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I can tell.
- 44:41Speaker 4: I can tell it's hurting you. Well, I know you
- 44:44Speaker 4: want to because it's nice. It's just like, yeah, this
- 44:47Speaker 4: is this is nice stuff. Yeah. A couple of buddies
- 44:50Speaker 4: of mine called this weather porn as well.
- 44:52Speaker 1: This is good stuff.
- 44:57Speaker 4: That's a new one for me. For me, this is
- 45:00Speaker 4: ideal weather, and it's in this little breeze.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Was chili too.
- 45:03Speaker 3: I usually go with Chamber of Commerce weather weather porn works.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I guess it works absolutely, you get it. I guess
- 45:09Speaker 1: you get it. I don't know. Never heard that one.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Well I didn't either till I heard it. Where are
- 45:15Speaker 1: those friends from? It feels like a Midwest thing. Oh yeah, Well,
- 45:20Speaker 1: we don't have any of those days here.
- 45:21Speaker 4: So when you get them, you.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Got to celebrate them.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Okay, I was about to say, it's not like we
- 45:26Speaker 3: get those often here. I mean, but the last two
- 45:29Speaker 3: weeks they have.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Been it has been. Yeah. Absolutely, it's been top down
- 45:34Speaker 1: on the jeep weather.
- 45:35Speaker 4: No doubt got that jeep at the right time.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Their brother. I really did, I really did.
- 45:41Speaker 3: All right, So we've got coming up in our number three,
- 45:44Speaker 3: we're going to have weekend winners.
- 45:46Speaker 1: I always look forward to that or losers.
- 45:49Speaker 3: It certainly could be some of those coming up from
- 45:51Speaker 3: this past weekend as well. So we've got that coming
- 45:54Speaker 3: to you at nine am. Probably going to push dev
- 45:57Speaker 3: back to tomorrow since we're on location be able to
- 46:00Speaker 3: have him.
- 46:00Speaker 1: So we've got that.
- 46:01Speaker 3: And I also want to talk New Orleans Saints off
- 46:03Speaker 3: season kind of what they've done.
- 46:06Speaker 1: And look, we threw out the dead cap number.
- 46:07Speaker 3: It's not great, but they have made some great moves
- 46:10Speaker 3: and now we're starting to see people kind of grade
- 46:12Speaker 3: the moves that we've seen because we've had a couple
- 46:15Speaker 3: of weeks of free agency, We've had a bunch of trades,
- 46:17Speaker 3: record setting trade I think twenty if I'm not I
- 46:19Speaker 3: think twenty trades in the off season.
- 46:21Speaker 1: So it is a record for trades in the NFL.
