- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:06where we left off talking about New York State and
- 0:09the possibility of Glenn Maxwell being charged at the state
- 0:12level if she does receive a pardon. Financial institutions implicated
- 0:17in the Epstein Maxwell network have already faced lawsuits in
- 0:20New York Civil court, including JP Morgan Chase, and Deutsche Bank,
- 0:25and for good or for ill, New York State has
- 0:28been a hub of legal accountability when any has been
- 0:31brought forward for the broader Epstein enterprise. In this context,
- 0:35bringing criminal charges against Maxwell would not be a radical move.
- 0:39It would be a continuation of an existing legal and
- 0:42moral campaign to expose and punish the entire architecture of exploitation.
- 0:48Her pardon would not invalidate the facts. It would only
- 0:51accelerate the moral necessity to hold her accountable elsewhere. In
- 0:56addition to legal grounds, New York has political capital to spend.
- 1:00Secutors have publicly aligned themselves with survivor focused prosecution, promising
- 1:04that no one is above the law. If Maxwell were
- 1:07suddenly walking free due to a federal pardon, their credibility
- 1:11would be on the line to maintain public trust and
- 1:13fulfill their pledges, They would be under immense pressure to
- 1:17act in that moment. In action would be louder than
- 1:20any indictment and far more damning. The part of maxwell
- 1:24would also force the public to confront an uncomfortable truth that,
- 1:28even in cases involving child sex, trafficking an elite corruption,
- 1:32the federal system can be bought or bargained with. Such
- 1:36a move would not just be a betrayal of survivors,
- 1:39it would signal to predators everywhere that political power can
- 1:43insulate them from consequences. The only remaining defense against that
- 1:47message would be state prosecution, an assertion that some jurisdictions
- 1:51still believe justice should be blind, even when the defendant
- 1:55has friends in high places. Critics might argue that a
- 1:58second prosecution would be double jeopardy or an abuse of power,
- 2:02but legally this claim doesn't hold water. The US Supreme
- 2:06Court has time and time again affirmed the dual sovereignty doctrine,
- 2:11allowing both federal and state prosecutions for the same conduct,
- 2:15and in moral terms, one could argue that no amount
- 2:18of legal technicality should stand between a predator and accountability,
- 2:23especially when survivors are still bearing the scars. Maxwell's ability
- 2:28to manipulate legal systems should not be mistaken for innocence.
- 2:32If anything, it makes her even more dangerous. We must
- 2:36also consider the ripple effect. If Maxwell were allowed to
- 2:39walk free, it would embolden others, though still lurking in
- 2:42the shadows of Epstein's network. It would send a message
- 2:45to co conspirators, silent enablers, and participating clients that accountability
- 2:50is optional, consequences negotiable, and well placed political favor is
- 2:55the ultimate get out of jail free card. State prosecution
- 2:59in New York would not just be about Maxwell. It
- 3:01would be a warning to every man and woman whoever
- 3:05thought what they did with Jeffrey Epstein would stay buried forever. Justice,
- 3:09if it's going to mean anything at all, must extend
- 3:12beyond one courtroom, one jurisdiction, or one verdict. If the
- 3:16federal government fails to carry the full weight of moral accountability,
- 3:19then it becomes a solemn duty of the states to
- 3:22step up, and no state is better positioned to do
- 3:25so than New York, where the crimes were committed, where
- 3:28the victims were abused, and where the walls of Epstein's
- 3:30townhouse still whisper the truth. A pardon doesn't erase that,
- 3:34but a prosecution, state level, unflinching and unapologetic, just might
- 3:39begin to restore what was lost. If New York chooses
- 3:43not to act, it looks at a mountain of evidence,
- 3:46the pain of survivors, the clear cut violations of state law,
- 3:49and still shrinks away, then it will confirm what so
- 3:52many already suspect that justice is selective, conditional, and reserved
- 3:57for the powerless. Say that no matter how many laws
- 4:01are broken, no matter how many girls are harmed, accountability
- 4:05can still be bartered away behind closed doors if the
- 4:07right names are on the guest list. This isn't just
- 4:10a failure of the prosecution. It's a betrayal of public trust.
- 4:15Because Glenn Maxwell is in some confused middleman or low
- 4:18level fall guy. She was the engineer of logistics, the gatekeeper,
- 4:22the fixer, the madam who made it all run smooth
- 4:26so the rich never had to look dirty. And she
- 4:29did it all in New York City, over and over again,
- 4:33in the same brownstone, behind the same locked doors, on
- 4:36the same beds that prosecutors now pretend are too far
- 4:39in the past to matter. But they do matter because
- 4:43the girls that were abused there still live with it
- 4:46and they still remember. Letting her skate would do more
- 4:49than absolved Maxwell. It would stain every institution that remained silent,
- 4:53every official who once promised the public they would leave
- 4:56no stone unturned, every prosecutor who posed in front of
- 4:59count cas and declared war on child sex trafficking. If
- 5:03all that fire and fury ends in a shrug and
- 5:05a sigh because a president handed her a get out
- 5:08of jail free card, then what was it ever worth?
- 5:11What did any of it ever mean? Because let me
- 5:14tell you, right now, somewhere in this country, there's a
- 5:17teenage girl being groomed right now by someone with money,
- 5:20influence and a contact in high places. That predator is
- 5:25watching how this ends, watching to see if this system
- 5:28actually has teeth or if it just gnashes its gums
- 5:31for show. If Maxwell has pardoned, then the state does nothing.
- 5:34It will send a loud clear signal, don't worry, keep
- 5:38doing what you're doing. If you're rich enough, connected enough,
- 5:41shameless enough, nothing will ever touch you. And that should
- 5:45terrify every decent person who has ever demanded better, Because
- 5:49if we can't even prosecute someone like Lane Maxwell, someone
- 5:52convicted in federal court, someone named by hundreds of survivors,
- 5:57someone who ran operations out of a mansion and daylight,
- 6:01Then who can we ever prosecute? What does a crime
- 6:03even look like anymore? If not this? How grotesque does
- 6:07the truth need to be before someone actually picks up
- 6:10the phone and files the fucking charges? And my advice
- 6:14to prosecutors in New York don't wait for political permission.
- 6:18They should not be hesitating out of fear of blowback.
- 6:20Their job is not to serve the headlines or catered
- 6:23to the powerful. Their job is to serve justice. And
- 6:27right now that job is sitting on a platter, ready waiting,
- 6:31fully documented, legally sound, morally obvious. All that's left is
- 6:36the courage to act. And if they don't, we need
- 6:39to be honest about what we're witnessing. It won't be justice,
- 6:43it won't be closure. It'll be a white gloved handshake
- 6:46between institutions that protect each other while the rest of
- 6:49us are told to clap and move on. It'll be
- 6:52the final chapter in a story of power shielding power,
- 6:55dressed up in legal ease and cowardice. It will confirm
- 6:58that even in the face of monstrous, well documented evil,
- 7:02there are still some doors no DA's willing to knock on.
- 7:06But if they do act, if New York does what
- 7:09the federal system would be too compromised to do, then
- 7:12for once, the survivors win, not fully, not completely, but
- 7:15enough to know that their abuser didn't escape scot free,
- 7:19enough to believe that the truth still matters, that power
- 7:21can be checked, that pain doesn't have to be swallowed
- 7:24in silence, and in a world this broken, that would
- 7:27be something real, something worth fighting for. Because the question
- 7:31is in can New York prosecute Glain Maxwell. The law
- 7:34says yes, the facts say yes. The survivors are screaming yes.
- 7:40The only question left is whether anyone in power is
- 7:43brave enough to say it out loud. And if they aren't,
- 7:46if they just let her disappear into the shadows with
- 7:48the smug grin and a clean slate, then let it
- 7:51be known. Justice didn't fail. It was told to stand down,
- 7:55and it obeyed. So here we are. After everything we've
- 7:59laid out, the jurisdiction, the evidence, the survivor testimony, the
- 8:03legal precedent, you're left with one simple truth. Glenn Maxwell
- 8:07can still be prosecuted by the State of New York.
- 8:09The law allows it, the facts demand it, and the
- 8:12survivors they deserve it. A federal pardon is not a
- 8:16magical spell. It doesn't absolve guilt, it doesn't raise pain.
- 8:20It doesn't mean she didn't do it. It just means someone
- 8:22with power decided to pretend that she didn't. And if
- 8:26that's the standard we're accepting now, if presidential whim can
- 8:29overrule everything, we have slipped into something far darker than injustice.
- 8:34We've slipped into feudalism, where loyalty, silence, and connections matter
- 8:38more than truth. But this story doesn't have to end
- 8:42that way. New York has been handed an opportunity few
- 8:45prosecutors ever get, a second chance, a clean shot, an
- 8:50open door to right or wrong that could soon go
- 8:52global in its insult. And if they fail to walk
- 8:55through it, then they're not just complicit in Maxwell's escape,
- 8:58they're accessories to the erosion of public faith in justice itself. Because,
- 9:04let's be honest, if Glayne Maxwell walks away clean, then
- 9:08who doesn't. Who's left to answer for Epstein's empire? The
- 9:11co conspirators, the clients, the billionaires who were shuffled into
- 9:14silence by the cowardly media outlets and white glove lawyers.
- 9:18If the person who help build the pyramid is allowed
- 9:21to vanish into the shadows, then no one else is
- 9:23ever going to be dragged into the light, no matter
- 9:25what she tells the doj as she sits in that
- 9:28jail cell. And what does that mean for the survivors,
- 9:32for the girls who were exploited, discarded, and then ignored.
- 9:35What message do we send when the system that was
- 9:38supposed to protect them instead shields their abuser? Again, do
- 9:42we really expect them to keep believing injustice even when
- 9:45the clearest, most documented case of elite abuse gets flushed
- 9:49down a political toilet. Yo, this isn't complicated, It's not abstract.
- 9:54The mansion was in Manhattan, the girls were trafficked across
- 9:57state lines. The grooming happened on New York's This isn't
- 10:01a question of jurisdiction. It's a question of will, of spine,
- 10:05of whether anyone in a position of power has the
- 10:08courage to go after someone who's rolodex still makes people nervous.
- 10:12And maybe that's the point. Maybe the silence isn't incompetence,
- 10:15it's fear. Maybe the reason so many powerful people want
- 10:18this case buried is because Glenn Maxwell knows too much.
- 10:22And maybe the reason they're willing to let her walk
- 10:24is because they'd rather set her free than hear or speak.
- 10:27But justice isn't supposed to be shaped by secrets. It's
- 10:31supposed to break them open. So here's the ask, not
- 10:34for forgiveness, not for hope, but for action, for a
- 10:38stay of prosecutor in New York to step up and
- 10:40say not on my watch, For someone, anyone in a
- 10:44position of authority, to remember why they took that oath
- 10:47in the first place. The law is still there, the
- 10:49files are still there, and the pain and never left.
- 10:53If this country still believes in consequences, this is the
- 10:56moment to prove it. Not with statements, not with symbolism,
- 10:59but with charges, real ones that stick, that sting, that
- 11:03tell every predator is still lurking in the shadows. You're
- 11:06not safe anymore. Because if we, like land Maxwell vanish
- 11:10into the wind, then justice didn't lose. It surrendered and
- 11:13it will never be taken seriously again. All of the
