- 0:15Speaker 2: one zero seven ten. Let's go to Brian in Miami. Brian,
- 0:19Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Hey, mister New York. You know nobody holds me mister Miami.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Hold down.
- 0:27Speaker 1: County. But you're always complained.
- 0:29Speaker 2: About the weather because everything it's trying to decaf coffee.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Maybe, well that's my style. Anyway, I want to find
- 0:40Speaker 1: out One if you know about International Left Handers Day.
- 0:43Speaker 1: It's every August thirteenth, including tomorrow, of course. And two,
- 0:46Speaker 1: I wanted to find out if.
- 0:47Speaker 2: You're left handed.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I've never seen you writing something on television left hand right?
- 0:52Speaker 2: I'm right handed? Are you? Are you a salesman?
- 0:56Speaker 1: No, I'm an ex radio talk show host w j
- 0:59Speaker 1: R Detroit, IIRO, Seattle and other points around.
- 1:02Speaker 2: The lowest JR in Detroit's one of the big stations
- 1:05Speaker 2: in the world.
- 1:05Speaker 1: And well, I was one of the big talents, the
- 1:09Speaker 1: radioactive guy.
- 1:10Speaker 2: You gotta stop yelling. Stop yelling.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Well, I'll be more. Well, I am being polite, but
- 1:15Speaker 1: I'm an enthusiastic guy.
- 1:17Speaker 2: How come you're not in the radio anymore.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Well, because you syndicated guys have of course you're local
- 1:23Speaker 1: in New York, but you've been syndicated, I do believe
- 1:25Speaker 1: over the years, and everybody else makes small fry like me. Well,
- 1:29Speaker 1: it makes me retired, all right, Okay, I had a
- 1:32Speaker 1: good run. I was on for thirty years on and off.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you ever think of stop in the yelling. Maybe
- 1:37Speaker 2: just talk like this like a normal person.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Well, I'm an excitable boy, just like the Warren Sevon song.
- 1:42Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah, where do you live in Miami?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Well, I'm in Broward County Fort Lauderdale, Miami.
- 1:50Speaker 2: That's not much.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I consider it that. And again I left Orlando. I
- 1:54Speaker 1: was in Orlando for three years, and I moved down
- 1:56Speaker 1: here a dozen years ago because Orlando was just too
- 1:58Speaker 1: darn cold.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Okay, when you're in sleepy Florida and you run into
- 2:02Speaker 2: something and go.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Hey, how are you?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Don't nothing?
- 2:04Speaker 1: Go Well, I do wake people up with my enthusiasm. Enthusiasm,
- 2:09Speaker 1: But there's there's something to be said for being an
- 2:13Speaker 1: earnest and an energetic voice on the radio. You're certainly that,
- 2:17Speaker 1: are you?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, But I see I talk like a normal person.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I don't come and go hy, how are you? Well? Now,
- 2:22Speaker 2: what do you do if you go to the library,
- 2:23Speaker 2: they must throw you right out?
- 2:25Speaker 1: Well, you gotta cut me some slack. I'm talking to
- 2:27Speaker 1: mister New York now for the first time over Worr.
- 2:31Speaker 2: But you could never work in a funeral home. Hey,
- 2:33Speaker 2: how are you welcome to the funeral?
- 2:35Speaker 1: No, but I do like hanging around cemeteries. I spend
- 2:38Speaker 1: a lot of time and I'm just trying to avoid
- 2:40Speaker 1: being in the crypt, you know what I mean?
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no, Well, it was great talking to you, Brian,
- 2:44Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. Take care. Oh god, you think there's
- 2:47Speaker 2: dead bodies in that guy's house? I don't know. Anyway,
- 2:51Speaker 2: Let's go to uh Dennis and Gillette. Dennis, how you doing.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Good?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Mark to talk to you.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Listen, what's gonna happen with the say back?
- 2:59Speaker 1: Is there to die?
- 3:00Speaker 3: Is you're gonna be resurrected?
- 3:02Speaker 2: And I'll surprise Trump hasn't replaced soon with somebody more tougher. Well,
- 3:07Speaker 2: they're working on that. They're working on getting somebody instead
- 3:09Speaker 2: of Tune. But you got a good question there. I
- 3:12Speaker 2: don't know that Save Act Democrats aren't going to do it.
- 3:15Speaker 2: And if you're counting on Republicans to do it. That's
- 3:18Speaker 2: not gonna work either. I don't know. Hey. One thing
- 3:21Speaker 2: to point out, if you do pass the Save Act,
- 3:25Speaker 2: it will not affect the midterms. It wouldn't kick in
- 3:28Speaker 2: until after the midterms. So if that's what you're worried about,
- 3:32Speaker 2: you're gonna it'll help in the future. So you got
- 3:34Speaker 2: to do it, but it won't help in the midterms.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Let's go to Joe and Elmwood Park. Joe, how you doing.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'll talk about the first Amy Klevercher, the first knit
- 3:44Speaker 1: with politician.
- 3:45Speaker 3: And what about the ghouls in Massachusetts with their late
- 3:49Speaker 3: term abortions.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, well that's his left wing. It's what they do,
- 3:53Speaker 2: very very left wing. Defund the police, get rid of ice,
- 3:57Speaker 2: abortion up til the age of twenty. I mean, that's
- 3:59Speaker 2: a kind of stuff they like. Let's go to John
- 4:02Speaker 2: and Long Island. John, how you doing.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Hey, good morning Mark. I've been a listening to you
- 4:08Speaker 3: for many, many years. Oh yeah, thank you again. I
- 4:14Speaker 3: just retired so no one had the time. Yeah, pang yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 3: give town, yeah, yeah, God's Country. Yeah, this is an
- 4:25Speaker 3: older topic he brought up.
- 4:27Speaker 1: But the.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Obama museum library. Okay, a little interesting fact about this.
- 4:36Speaker 3: The designers architects of this one of those was one
- 4:40Speaker 3: of my professors in architecture school. I'm an architect, okay.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Okay, but you're a you're a real architect. This guy
- 4:45Speaker 2: was a professor, and professors never know what the hell
- 4:48Speaker 2: they're talking about.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. And the one guy I'm mentioned the name,
- 4:52Speaker 3: but you can look up the internet who designed this place.
- 4:56Speaker 3: But one little fact is that this team also designed
- 5:00Speaker 3: a museum right next to the Museum Modern Art, which
- 5:05Speaker 3: was the Museum of the American Craftsmen. I guess what
- 5:09Speaker 3: years later they tore that museum down. I'm just hoping
- 5:12Speaker 3: they do the same thing with the Obama ugly monument
- 5:17Speaker 3: they've put about there.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that is interesting. That's a very good point. Yeah,
- 5:20Speaker 2: thanks for calling John. That's a good point. At some point,
- 5:23Speaker 2: you may have to tear down that Obama museum. It's
- 5:25Speaker 2: considered the ugliest structure ever built in America. People that
- 5:30Speaker 2: live near it are complaining it's such a ridiculous eyesore.
- 5:33Speaker 2: But that explains it. They probably got some architect professors
- 5:39Speaker 2: of architecture. These professors never know what the hell they're
- 5:44Speaker 2: talking about, you know, a really great guy who's one
- 5:47Speaker 2: of the most successful men in the world. I don't
- 5:51Speaker 2: want to mention his name, but he couldn't be more
- 5:53Speaker 2: successful than this guy. And I'm listening to him being interviewed,
- 5:56Speaker 2: and he said something about school, and he goes, yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 2: I went to college. I I tried not to get
- 6:00Speaker 2: too educated because I could see they didn't know what
- 6:02Speaker 2: the hell they were talking about. It's very true, you know.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I don't want to mention names, but sometimes they go
- 6:09Speaker 2: to certain universities speak to the students, do a masterclass
- 6:14Speaker 2: and that kind of stuff, and you see what these
- 6:17Speaker 2: broadcasting teachers are teaching them. They don't know what they're
- 6:20Speaker 2: talking about. Anyway, Let's go to Paul and White Plains. Paul,
- 6:24Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 6:26Speaker 3: I'm fine, Mark, how are you listen? I consider you
- 6:28Speaker 3: missed the show business?
- 6:30Speaker 1: And because I'm old, I watched the reruns of The
- 6:33Speaker 1: Dean Martin Rose and everybody on the datis is screaming
- 6:37Speaker 1: with laughter. They're falling on the floor.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Is that real? What's the story?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Well, not really know the way they would. That was
- 6:45Speaker 2: Greg Garrison, the great producer. This guy was a genius
- 6:48Speaker 2: at creating an assembly line. They would do like ten
- 6:52Speaker 2: roasts in one day. You know, you'd see all these
- 6:53Speaker 2: different stars on the dais, so they'd do the roast,
- 6:57Speaker 2: then they'd switch like okay, now you'd be the honoree.
- 6:59Speaker 2: You go sit in the dais and they keep switching around.
- 7:02Speaker 2: And they had like twelve cameras, so besides the regular
- 7:06Speaker 2: camera work, there'd be cameras just taking shots of people laughing,
- 7:11Speaker 2: and they would have the laugh at all. Once in
- 7:15Speaker 2: a while they would laughhysterically, but they'd catch that shot
- 7:18Speaker 2: and they you're right, They would use that shot for
- 7:20Speaker 2: every joke, and it was too much laughing for certain jokes.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. And you know the other thing they
- 7:26Speaker 2: did after a while, they couldn't get everybody there at
- 7:29Speaker 2: the same time. For most of the roasts. The first
- 7:33Speaker 2: few seasons they were all in one room, it was,
- 7:36Speaker 2: but if you watch the final season, they weren't all
- 7:38Speaker 2: there at the same time. So the guy would get
- 7:40Speaker 2: in the podium, they film him doing his jokes, but
- 7:43Speaker 2: nobody was there. Then they'd cut together the ship, so
- 7:47Speaker 2: it was like really pieced together. You can sort of
- 7:49Speaker 2: see it in that final year. Anyway, when we come
- 7:52Speaker 2: back and Colter will be with us. I think she's
- 7:54Speaker 2: in Europe right now, so get a report on what's
- 7:57Speaker 2: going on over there. We'll get to that next time.
