- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hello everyone, welcome to another mini episode of the Almost
- 0:09Speaker 2: Famous Podcast. Today we have Sally Carson. You may know
- 0:14Speaker 2: her from Clayton season. She was the girl that kept
- 0:20Speaker 2: running away. She was all running away bride. Sally was
- 0:23Speaker 2: the one that was like, do I want to be here? No,
- 0:25Speaker 2: I don't want to be here, and she left, and
- 0:26Speaker 2: then she did it again in Bachelor in Paradise in
- 0:29Speaker 2: twenty twenty two, and now she's on Southern Charm on
- 0:33Speaker 2: Bravo and she's not running away. First off, let's talk Bachelor.
- 0:38Speaker 2: When we saw you running away?
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yes?
- 0:41Speaker 2: Was that all legit? Were you just really scared to
- 0:44Speaker 2: do the show and you were just uncertain at all times?
- 0:47Speaker 2: Or was there some behind the scenes you weren't seeing
- 0:50Speaker 2: You know that there was a boy at home that
- 0:52Speaker 2: you weren't sure were you whether you wanted to be
- 0:54Speaker 2: with him or not?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Yes? So it actually happened so fast. So I was
- 0:59Speaker 3: engaged and then none of the Bachelor franchise knew this,
- 1:04Speaker 3: but like he cheated on me thirty days before the wedding.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I found out through DM and I got a call
- 1:11Speaker 3: from the Bachelor, Like a week after I canceled my wedding?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Did they? Who did?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Who? What friends submitted you for this?
- 1:16Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It was anonymous, okay, but it was somebody For some reason,
- 1:21Speaker 2: I feel.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Like it's the girl that DMed me because she felt
- 1:25Speaker 3: so bad that I canceled my wedding and stuff. I
- 1:28Speaker 3: don't know though, that's just like my thought.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Oh and one that cheated, Yeah, the cheaty that one.
- 1:35Speaker 2: She's like, I have a consolation, DRIs. Yeah, Hey, you
- 1:39Speaker 2: know what if he didn't cheat with her, he was
- 1:42Speaker 2: probably gonna cheo with someone else, and she probably got
- 1:44Speaker 2: you out of bad situation.
- 1:46Speaker 3: That's right, That's right. So yeah, they called, and I
- 1:48Speaker 3: was like kind of in this mindset of like Kim,
- 1:52Speaker 3: like I'm going I'm gonna go do this for myself
- 1:55Speaker 3: like I deserve it. I get out there and the
- 1:58Speaker 3: whole process was like super rush. I know people were
- 2:00Speaker 3: confused on my timeline.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Well, lots of people. The speculation before the season even
- 2:04Speaker 2: started was that there was this girl and she canceled
- 2:07Speaker 2: her wedding to be on the back. That was the
- 2:10Speaker 2: rumor about you.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, and I'm sure that's the one that my
- 2:13Speaker 3: Eggs would love to be out there and not this one.
- 2:16Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean when he was at work one day,
- 2:19Speaker 3: I called my wedding planner. I canceled the wedding, and then,
- 2:21Speaker 3: you know, I don't even know. A week or two
- 2:24Speaker 3: weeks later, I was on a flight LA and I
- 2:28Speaker 3: got there and you know, they isolate you in the rooms. Yeah,
- 2:31Speaker 3: so I started to just kind of panic a little bit,
- 2:34Speaker 3: and I was like, what am I doing. I've had
- 2:36Speaker 3: some time to really process all of this. I'm still
- 2:38Speaker 3: in love with my Eggs. Why am I here all
- 2:41Speaker 3: the fields? Because it was supposed on my wedding weekend.
- 2:44Speaker 3: And then yeah, they were like, if you want to leave,
- 2:48Speaker 3: you have to go see him.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Wait, if you want to leave.
- 2:51Speaker 3: If I want to leave, I have to go break
- 2:52Speaker 3: up with Clayton.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, even though we didn't really start getting yet.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Yeah, so I went. There was like four nights before
- 3:02Speaker 3: the limos, right, I think they made it seem like
- 3:05Speaker 3: it was like the night before, but it was not,
- 3:08Speaker 3: and we actually had like a really good chat. And
- 3:12Speaker 3: then I genuinely got confused sitting in front of him.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I was like, wait, this guy's kind of great. Do
- 3:21Speaker 3: I want to stay, and I was like, no, like,
- 3:23Speaker 3: I got to stick to my like, I'm not ready
- 3:24Speaker 3: to be here. I can't like go and get engaged again,
- 3:27Speaker 3: you know. Yeah, So I left and then I got
- 3:30Speaker 3: back together with my eggs.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Oh my goodness. Yeah, and how long did that last?
- 3:36Speaker 3: For? Not long, because the same result happened again.
- 3:40Speaker 2: A new girl yep. Oh see, I told you he
- 3:43Speaker 2: was going to.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Die, I know, learned my lass about and so then I.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Went on back to my Maaradise and we were still
- 3:49Speaker 2: not convinced with him because I remember there was a
- 3:52Speaker 2: visit to his house.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yes, so I actually genuinely did work with him. So
- 3:58Speaker 3: he was like my main surgeon at the time.
- 4:01Speaker 2: And so you are a medical sales reup, I.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Don't sell anything I control. I controlled the robot. I
- 4:09Speaker 3: also got a lot of shit for that. But I
- 4:11Speaker 3: control a robot in spine surgery. Oh, it doesn't do
- 4:14Speaker 3: to serve me. It's just like a guidance system for
- 4:17Speaker 3: the servant. So he's very much still in control. But yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 3: so I like went and had a conversation with him
- 4:25Speaker 3: before I left. And again the whole process was super rushed.
- 4:31Speaker 3: And one of the things that the producers told me
- 4:35Speaker 3: was that he would not his name would not be
- 4:38Speaker 3: spoken about, because you know, I didn't want to bring
- 4:43Speaker 3: his life into the Bachelor again and I didn't want
- 4:48Speaker 3: all the articles coming out about him again, which they
- 4:51Speaker 3: ended up doing anyways, And I get there in the
- 4:54Speaker 3: first thing the girls start asking me is about him.
- 4:57Speaker 3: So I was just I'm going to remove myself because
- 5:00Speaker 3: it was just toxic and my producer was nowhere to
- 5:03Speaker 3: be found.
- 5:03Speaker 2: She like, ran, but they followed you home the cameras, right, No,
- 5:09Speaker 2: well I didn't know it. Did you self shoot some stuff?
- 5:14Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Oh man, wow, I'm making up something in my memory.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I don't think. Well, they had that whole skit.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Okay, thank you. That was I knew I had something
- 5:24Speaker 2: visual in my memory.
- 5:26Speaker 3: So much for that skit, but that is like it
- 5:28Speaker 3: was just very embellished and like it was funny, but
- 5:32Speaker 3: it was, you know, just not the full truth.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Okay, your whole storyline was quite entertaining, so thanks for
- 5:38Speaker 2: good reality TV.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I was super messy and the suitcase was hilarious too.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I was cracking up.
- 5:43Speaker 2: That's right. Oh yeah, you had supposedly like lost your
- 5:47Speaker 2: suitcase and it had the dildo in it.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Well yeah, well no, that was that was not a
- 5:51Speaker 3: real suitcase.
- 5:52Speaker 2: No, I know, I know that, but I know it's
- 5:55Speaker 2: a plant. But yes, they tried to pretend as if, yes,
- 5:58Speaker 2: people who watched the show and take things literally too
- 6:01Speaker 2: literally would yes, they would think that you really did
- 6:05Speaker 2: leave a suitcase there with a dildo and I know
- 6:07Speaker 2: I knew you did it and a veil. I'm like,
- 6:10Speaker 2: oh yeah, who what. It just made that the girls
- 6:14Speaker 2: went along and acted with it. It was just silly
- 6:17Speaker 2: that I know. All right, So then you got called
- 6:20Speaker 2: onto the Bravo shows? Is it because they saw you
- 6:23Speaker 2: on the Bachelor and they're like, this girl is wonderful
- 6:26Speaker 2: reality TV? No?
- 6:27Speaker 3: No, So well with Southern Hospitality, I actually met Joe
- 6:33Speaker 3: Bradley randomly at a bar here in Charleston, and I
- 6:38Speaker 3: had no idea. I didn't even know about the show
- 6:40Speaker 3: about Southern Hospitality, didn't know how Shoe I had just
- 6:42Speaker 3: moved here. I met him and he just walked up
- 6:45Speaker 3: to me, and I remember he was like, Hey, you're cute,
- 6:46Speaker 3: and I was like, damn, he's kind of cute too,
- 6:49Speaker 3: and me and him, I had a friend that worked
- 6:52Speaker 3: at Republic and he said that they had VIP hosts
- 6:54Speaker 3: opportunities and the show was never like presented to me
- 6:59Speaker 3: at all, but me and show started hanging out. So
- 7:01Speaker 3: then I became in a few clips on Southern House Valley,
- 7:04Speaker 3: but I was never a cast member or anything. And
- 7:06Speaker 3: then Southern Charm came about through my friend Madison, so
- 7:11Speaker 3: I just, you know, am good friends with Madison, better
- 7:14Speaker 3: friends with her now. But you know, that's just kind
- 7:18Speaker 3: of how that landed into my lap. But I've never, like,
- 7:22Speaker 3: I never really tried to be on all these shows,
- 7:25Speaker 3: and I think that's what everyone has a problem with.
- 7:27Speaker 3: And they're like, this girl is just chasing clout and
- 7:29Speaker 3: chasing reality TV. And I'm like, I know how it looks.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You're like, I have fallen into these opportunities.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Yeah, they just keep coming, and I'm like, why would
- 7:38Speaker 3: I say ou?
- 7:39Speaker 2: You know, yeah, this season on Southern Charm, you've had
- 7:43Speaker 2: a lot of drama revolve around you, Taylor and Gaston. Yes,
- 7:48Speaker 2: how have you been handling this? How's the fan response been?
- 7:53Speaker 3: Honestly, it's been very positive towards me at least. I mean,
- 7:56Speaker 3: obviously there's always going to be that one negative Nancy
- 8:00Speaker 3: that wants to say some stuff, but I have honestly
- 8:04Speaker 3: kind of just you know, I don't. It's kind of
- 8:08Speaker 3: hard right now after filming cuts because you know, you
- 8:11Speaker 3: hear things because Charles is such a small town, and
- 8:14Speaker 3: you know, I hear that her and him are just
- 8:18Speaker 3: around him running their mouths about me. But you know,
- 8:21Speaker 3: I just try to I'm trying to just keep them
- 8:23Speaker 3: out of my mouth. And I hope the best for
- 8:26Speaker 3: her and I hope she's happy in that relationship. It's
- 8:28Speaker 3: not the experience that I had, and I think that,
- 8:32Speaker 3: you know, it rubbed her the wrong way that I
- 8:33Speaker 3: had some negative things to say about her man, which
- 8:36Speaker 3: it would rub anyone the wrong way. But that's my
- 8:38Speaker 3: experience and that's you know, that's what I lived through
- 8:41Speaker 3: with him, and it might not be what she's going through.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I hope it's not what she's going through.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Is there any more drama that you can tease for
- 8:59Speaker 2: the up coming part of the season.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Just the whole Like, you know, I don't really think that.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Me and Taylor, we tried to get along for the
- 9:09Speaker 3: rest of the season, and we kind of coexisted because
- 9:12Speaker 3: we wanted to be you know, around our friend group
- 9:15Speaker 3: and not have any drama really mm hmm. But the
- 9:20Speaker 3: whole Shep and Sianna thing is weird.
- 9:23Speaker 2: That I was going to ask about. Yeah, so what
- 9:26Speaker 2: are your thoughts about that that relationship? Did you think
- 9:29Speaker 2: it was going to be a little off from the
- 9:31Speaker 2: get go?
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yes? Absolutely, Since the moment I met her at the
- 9:35Speaker 3: dog party, I was like, this girl is not into him,
- 9:40Speaker 3: and I don't know. I felt so bad for him
- 9:43Speaker 3: because Shep is amazing and you know, love Shep, but
- 9:48Speaker 3: we go way back, and I mean she just anyone
- 9:52Speaker 3: with eyes could see that she just was not interested
- 9:55Speaker 3: in him except for him. So that gets kind of
- 9:59Speaker 3: messy in the and it does really make you feel
- 10:02Speaker 3: bad for the guy.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Are you still with the boyfriend that we've seen you
- 10:05Speaker 2: with in the teasers, the little glimpses of this season?
- 10:08Speaker 3: No? No, okay, so yeah, yeah I got chewing on again.
- 10:13Speaker 3: How does that happen? Hm?
- 10:17Speaker 2: We have to work on your picker, I guess.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe I'm the problem. I really know how, But yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 3: that didn't We're.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Going to document any more of your love life, not.
- 10:27Speaker 3: This season now, but maybe next season.
- 10:30Speaker 1: All right?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Is that a greenlit season?
- 10:33Speaker 3: Oh?
- 10:33Speaker 2: Is it? What is it? Like happening, happening, not not
- 10:37Speaker 2: currently now okay, okay, but yeah, there's regulation that it
- 10:41Speaker 2: will happen. Yeah, you'll be part of it. Yes, okay, wonderful, Yah, wonderful.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I don't know if I'm allowed to say
- 10:48Speaker 3: that we.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Will have a breaking news story here.
- 10:53Speaker 3: True. Yeah, So I don't really know. I've just been
- 10:56Speaker 3: kind of after that breakup. I've just been living, you know,
- 10:59Speaker 3: a real single life in Drawsen, having a little bit
- 11:02Speaker 3: too much fun. I am kind of hanging out with
- 11:05Speaker 3: someone right now, but it's super fresh and new, so
- 11:07Speaker 3: I don't really know where that's going.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Do you still work with your ex?
- 11:11Speaker 3: No?
- 11:11Speaker 2: God, no, okay, okay.
- 11:13Speaker 3: I was like weird, not on speaking terms.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Okay, because I wasn't sure about your job and him.
- 11:20Speaker 2: You move, You moved on from that job?
- 11:22Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I know I still have the job. I've
- 11:24Speaker 3: actually been doing the job for seven years.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I'm on my seven But you move locations, I'm assuming
- 11:28Speaker 2: move doctors, and you still are working a full time
- 11:32Speaker 2: job in the medical field while recording the show.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's fun, it's you know, my my hospital job.
- 11:43Speaker 3: My medical job comes first. So like if there was
- 11:45Speaker 3: ever a time where I had to choose between the two,
- 11:47Speaker 3: it would definitely be my medical career because I love
- 11:51Speaker 3: it so much. I get I work with kids a lot,
- 11:53Speaker 3: and it's just a very rewarding job. Where I love
- 11:57Speaker 3: Southern Charm too. It's very fun, but it's more you know,
- 12:00Speaker 3: fun and chaotic and messive rather than you know, business forward. Yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 3: so it's been great.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I love that. If you had to compare your reality experiences,
- 12:13Speaker 2: like we're talking the production side, what's the difference between
- 12:16Speaker 2: the two shows the Bachelor, of course, in Southern Term, oh.
- 12:20Speaker 3: My god, it's nine. It's not like I actually have
- 12:25Speaker 3: so much fun like filming for Southern Charm and working
- 12:29Speaker 3: with the producers, and they've become like some of my
- 12:31Speaker 3: good friends, Whereas on the Bachelor, it was honestly pretty
- 12:35Speaker 3: pretty brutal.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I'm sorry you had an experience and you experienced it too. Yeah,
- 12:41Speaker 2: I know, but I loved it, really, I loved it
- 12:44Speaker 2: all and I made like really good friends with them,
- 12:47Speaker 2: and I did four seasons and I've always felt so
- 12:50Speaker 2: comfortable with them. And I know everybody has their different experiences. Yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 2: but yeah, I just oh, I love I love so
- 12:57Speaker 2: many of them. They're not most of them aren't there anymore,
- 12:59Speaker 2: like like eighty percent of them that I would our
- 13:04Speaker 2: friends are no longer there, but.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Which I loved some of them. But my main girl
- 13:09Speaker 3: she did yeah, I'm pretty sure she got fired, but
- 13:13Speaker 3: she was just she was just kind of brutal. I'm
- 13:17Speaker 3: so yeah, Curry, But I love the other ones.
- 13:20Speaker 2: And like, I've had experiences on other reality shows where
- 13:23Speaker 2: I'd be like, this is the fakest shit ever, and
- 13:27Speaker 2: I always felt like The Bachelor felt more real. But
- 13:30Speaker 2: then it's interesting to talk about people from other shows
- 13:32Speaker 2: and you feel like your show is more real than
- 13:35Speaker 2: The Bachelor was. I did Stars on Mars and that
- 13:39Speaker 2: was like, actually it was two hands off. Production was
- 13:42Speaker 2: two hands off for me because I felt like when
- 13:45Speaker 2: I was doing confessionals, I thought I was talking to myself.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I wasn't having a room with anyone, and I didn't
- 13:51Speaker 2: like that. I didn't like the way I didn't have
- 13:53Speaker 2: I didn't feel like I had support outside of the cast,
- 13:57Speaker 2: because yeah, like sometimes you want somebody to talk to
- 13:59Speaker 2: you outside of the people who are you know you're
- 14:03Speaker 2: feeling with. I didn't feel like that. And then with
- 14:07Speaker 2: I did Oh, I did a million dollar match Maker,
- 14:10Speaker 2: which was like a million dollar millionaire Matchmaker with Patti
- 14:14Speaker 2: Stanger and that was years ago. Oh my gosh, I
- 14:16Speaker 2: was like eight years ago. But that felt that was
- 14:19Speaker 2: so fake, feeling like that was scripted. It was like
- 14:23Speaker 2: everything was coming out of the earpiece. So it was
- 14:25Speaker 2: just like, it's crazy. However, reality show is different.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's a and I did feel like
- 14:30Speaker 3: The Bachelor was real. I mean, obviously some circumstances were
- 14:34Speaker 3: kind of forced or pushed on, but like everything I
- 14:38Speaker 3: said on there was true, like they were. They never
- 14:40Speaker 3: forced me to say anything. I was very much myself
- 14:42Speaker 3: on there and then. But Southern charm, I feel like
- 14:46Speaker 3: it's so we're all so comfortable because we are actually
- 14:49Speaker 3: a good group of friends and there is actually, like
- 14:53Speaker 3: I mean, in every group of large group of friends,
- 14:55Speaker 3: there's gonna be drama. So it's like it's like a
- 14:57Speaker 3: little family, and you know, we don't really need much
- 15:01Speaker 3: force or push for things down.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Yeah. How many did you know before the show?
- 15:08Speaker 3: Pretty much all of them? In a weird twisted way.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Have you lived there your whole life?
- 15:14Speaker 3: No, I've only lived here for almost three years. But
- 15:18Speaker 3: I had like a one night stand with shap and
- 15:21Speaker 3: then like Whitney and JT, is it really a one.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Night stand if they continue to be in your life?
- 15:28Speaker 3: I guess not.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I never yet we had a one night thing. Does
- 15:34Speaker 2: that get weird? Will ever happen again?
- 15:38Speaker 3: I mean never say never. But I don't think so.
- 15:41Speaker 2: She's not against you, guys, I.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Don't think so. He does look better now than when
- 15:46Speaker 3: I got with him, That's for sure. He was like
- 15:49Speaker 3: a mess when I got with him a couple of
- 15:51Speaker 3: years ago. He was just, you know, drinking a lot
- 15:53Speaker 3: and sloppy. He's cleaned up his act.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Well, we have one headline, I want to go with
- 16:00Speaker 2: you before we let you go. I think this just
- 16:03Speaker 2: from People magazine, says Southern Charms Sally Carson removes breast
- 16:08Speaker 2: implants she got for her ex. I thought that's what he.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Liked, Okay, Yeah, I mean I wouldn't say I necessarily
- 16:18Speaker 3: got them for him, But I became very insecure in
- 16:23Speaker 3: the relationship because of the other women he was looking at,
- 16:25Speaker 3: like online and like instagrams.
- 16:27Speaker 2: It is the.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so this was a few years ago, and yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 3: so he just was looking at all these girls that
- 16:37Speaker 3: like didn't resemble me, and I was like, what the hell,
- 16:40Speaker 3: Like does he not like me? And it just made
- 16:42Speaker 3: I think. It just broke me down after a year
- 16:45Speaker 3: or so, and I was like super insecure and I
- 16:47Speaker 3: was like, I'm going to do this. So I did it.
- 16:49Speaker 3: I actually did it right before going on Bachelor in
- 16:51Speaker 3: Paradise and then I just got them out. I just
- 16:55Speaker 3: got my rest and plants out.
- 16:58Speaker 2: That is the new move. It seems like lots of
- 17:01Speaker 2: women are getting their implants out, whether it's for toxicity
