- 0:00The Nets lose their star player, they lose their star closer.
- 0:04The Nets are in a bad spot right now.
- 0:11I've never seen a Ranger team quick before the Olympics.
- 0:14We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he
- 0:16can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:19I played 82 games. You don't see the fun doing
- 0:22that, but Jack Hughes did. After getting his team knocked
- 0:25down to play every single shift he got back in the
- 1:29You're listening to the New York sports loudmouth.

- 3:12chaos, grown man throwing baseballs 103 mph like they
- 3:19built in a laboratory. New York sports fans losing
- 3:22years off their life expense expectancies.
- 3:26And somewhere out there, a Philly fan is currently arguing
- 3:30with a traffic cone after another playoff collapse.
- 3:33We don't do boring, that's for damn sure.
- 3:36Especially around here. We laugh, we yell, we overreact
- 3:40responsibly and kind of sometimes grab your food or, I
- 3:46don't know, hide your group chats if your team gets
- 3:49embarrassed tonight. And let's get into another
- 3:52insane night in sports because trust me, the Internet is
- 3:57already on fire. So I had to, I had to give you
- 3:59that take, that intro to give you guys a little take of what
- 4:02we are. If you've never listened to our
- 4:04show, well, I'm losing my voice. There's been a lot of screaming
- 4:08this weekend. I've been emceeing a couple of
- 4:10weddings, but I'm always here to entertain you guys and I'm sure
- 4:14everybody's going to be entertained tonight.
- 4:16We're going to get into a lot of stuff.
- 4:18Anyways, we got to get into the Knicks.
- 4:20The Knicks won Game 4 versus the 76ers, 144 to 114 to complete
- 4:25the sweep, their first sweep since 1999.
- 4:28The last time they went to the Finals, the Knicks tied a
- 4:31playoff record for the most 3 pointers made in a game, 1/2 and
- 4:351/4. This included 73 pointers by
- 4:39Miles McBride and six by Jalen Brunson.
- 4:43Josh Hart also took shots at Philadelphia sports fan saying I
- 4:48used to think Philadelphia was a great sports town.
- 4:52Tyrese Maxey also said that it absolutely sucks that the Knicks
- 4:57fans were taking over his team's home arena.
- 5:01Joel Embiid also claimed after game three that the series was
- 5:05rigged in favor of the Knicks and mention the differences in
- 5:09free throws. Meanwhile, the Sixers had double
- 5:14the amount of free throws than the Knicks had, with 34,
- 5:18compared to 17 for the Knicks. The Knicks have a + 194 point
- 5:24differential in the playoffs, the best in NBA history in the
- 5:29first two rounds. Now I, I will say this for all
- 5:34the fans that listen to this show and know me and understand
- 5:37how I am, I did say the Knicks were going to win 5, four to
- 5:41one. I thought it was going five.
- 5:43I did not think the Knicks were going to sweep.
- 5:46I thought that Tyrese Maxey was going to come out strong.
- 5:49But I, I got to give a lot of credit to the one guy that
- 5:52everybody takes shots at, and that's Mikhail Bridges.
- 5:56Mikhail Bridges. And I told everybody, this is
- 5:58something that I said me and Q went out of each other when the
- 6:01series started. And I said, Mikhail Bridges is
- 6:03going to show up in this series and he's going to play at a high
- 6:05level. And he had to.
- 6:07And he defended Tyrese Maxi as as good as we can see a player
- 6:12defend him all season long. He played at a high level.
- 6:16He scored and and and he did what he needed to do.
- 6:19And I'll say this about the Knicks.
- 6:20If you think about the players after OG and Nanobi got hurt and
- 6:25was out for the really the whole series.
- 6:28He played at the first two games and then he got knocked out.
- 6:31Jayla Brunson at 22, Karl Anthony Towns averaged 19, Miles
- 6:35McBride averaged 14.5, Josh Hart averaged 13.8, McHale Bridges
- 6:41averaged 13 and OG and Nanobi averaged 12 .7.
- 6:45And the Knicks average 120 points per game, which leads the
- 6:50playoffs. Just so everybody knows, the
- 6:52Knicks have been dominant throughout the playoffs
- 6:55offensively. And you got to give a lot of
- 6:57credit to Mike Brown. Mike Browns changed everything
- 7:00for the New York Knicks offensively, the transition of
- 7:04players and and the bench. It's been very, very cool to
- 7:08watch. Something that Tom Thibodeau did
- 7:09not do over the years. In the last two seasons, he
- 7:12played seven guys at best. You're watching the Knicks if,
- 7:17and I know everybody's going to say well at in the fourth
- 7:19quarter, they're playing all the other players because the Knicks
- 7:22are killing the 76ers. But here's the thing, even if
- 7:27the fourth quarter was not close or was close, I I believe Mike
- 7:34Brown was going to play at least 9 or 10 guys and he's been doing
- 7:37that throughout the playoffs. That's something I think Mike
- 7:40Brown has changed for the New York Knicks.
- 7:42Knicks it's giving Jaylen Bronson a little bit more time.
- 7:45If you look at Jaylen Bronson and in the later third quarter,
- 7:48he's sitting him, especially if the Knicks are up a significant
- 7:51amount. Karl Anthony talents has become
- 7:53a point, a point center. It it's been amazing to watch
- 7:57Karl Anthony Karl Anthony Towns in the playoffs this year has
- 8:01changed the way he looks at the game.
- 8:04And if Karl Anthony Towns plays like this, nobody's stopping the
- 8:08New York Knicks. Even OK C, where everybody says
- 8:11has been the most dominant team over the last two seasons in the
- 8:15playoffs, the way the Knicks are playing, the way they're getting
- 8:18points from Miles McBride and they're getting it from the
- 8:21bench. They didn't even need OG and
- 8:23Anobi the last two games of the series.
- 8:24They didn't. They all they needed was a guy
- 8:28to step up and Miles McBride did.
- 8:31Mikhail Bridges defended Tyrese Maxey, who's the best offensive
- 8:36option. Paul George looks old.
- 8:37He's got two more years left on his contract.
- 8:41Think about that. Look at Philadelphia, they're in
- 8:45a position now where they have to deal with Joel Embiid, which
- 8:48he signed an extension. He's got three years left on his
- 8:51contract. Paul George has two till 2028.
- 8:55They're not in a good situation. The Knicks are in a great
- 8:59situation because Miles McBride still has one more year left in
- 9:03his contract. Now they're going to have to
- 9:05figure out what they're going to do with Mitchell Robinson.
- 9:08I don't know if they bring them back.
- 9:09That's depend. That depends on what they do
- 9:11throughout the playoffs. If the Knicks win a
- 9:14championship, I think they bring Mitchell Robinson back.
- 9:17I think they re sign him, they extend him.
- 9:20Everybody keeps talking about Giannis and we'll get into where
- 9:22we think Giannis is going to go in the offseason.
- 9:25But this New York Knick team is is playing on all cylinders.
- 9:28And I don't know what cylinders there are.
- 9:30I don't know What Car. You're going to want to point it
- 9:32out. You want to call it, you want to
- 9:33call it a Lamborghini, you want to call it a Porsche, whatever
- 9:36you want to call it. Ladies and gentlemen, the Knicks
- 9:38are playing at a such a high level.
- 9:40You cannot deny it right now. Josh Hart, everything that he
- 9:44says. And Josh Hart, I think is the
- 9:46leader of this team. You could say whatever you want.
- 9:48Jalen Brunson is the captain, but the leader of this team is
- 9:52Josh Hart. Look at when when the timeouts
- 9:54come, look at Josh Hart on the bench.
- 9:57He's going, he's talking to all the players.
- 9:59You can see the difference on who Josh Hart is, his
- 10:02personality. If you watch their show, their
- 10:05podcast, who leads that show, it's Josh Hart.
- 10:08Josh Hart is the personality and and everybody is flocking to
- 10:13him. The media flocks to him after
- 10:14the game because he's got a lot to say and he doesn't throw
- 10:17anybody under the bus. But he's honest and that's the
- 10:20difference. When you talk to OJ Anobi, he's
- 10:23very clear on what he wants to say.
- 10:25Even Jalen Bronson, he's very clear on what he wants to say.
- 10:28Karl Anthony Townsend is a nice guy.
- 10:30Josh Hart, he doesn't give a crap.
- 10:32Josh Hart's going to go out there and he's going to tell you
- 10:34what he feels. He doesn't care what you think
- 10:37of him. And that's what's great.
- 10:38I mean, how many times did we see Josh Hart walk on the
- 10:40sidelines? We saw him do it at Jimmy
- 10:42Fallon. I mean, he united his his shoes
- 10:46or sneakers. Timothy Chalamet, he was he, he
- 10:50smacked him in the back of the head when when he got pulled out
- 10:53of the game. I mean, there's so many things
- 10:55that you like about Josh Hart. He brings excitement to this
- 10:58team. It's it.
- 10:59This is a different team than they were last year.
- 11:03We saw this team completely die in the Eastern Conference finals
- 11:07last year against an Indiana team they were much better than.
- 11:10I don't care who the Knicks play in the next series, if if it's
- 11:13Detroit or the Cavs, if they play at this level and OJ Nanobi
- 11:17is healthy, I don't think any one of those teams are going to
- 11:20beat them now. I think Detroit is the scarier
- 11:22one than the Cavs. And the reason why is they play
- 11:25hard nosed defense, they punch in the mouth.
- 11:28They're a different team. The Cavs, they're more of a
- 11:31flopping group. They like to flop.
- 11:33I love Kenny Atkinson. I I like some of the players.
- 11:37I think James Harden is a great player.
- 11:38He's not a great playoff player. I love Donovan Mitchell, the
- 11:41Spider. I love what they have on their
- 11:43roster. I just, I don't think they have
- 11:47enough to beat the Knicks the way the Knicks are playing at
- 11:49the level they're playing. But I will say this to the
- 11:5176ers, and I don't want to hear any of the bitching and moaning
- 11:56by Tyrese Maxey saying that why aren't our fans showing up to
- 12:00the games? I heard through the Grapevine
- 12:03that there were people standing out of the stadium and giving
- 12:06away free tickets to the Philadelphia fans because they
- 12:08wanted to pack out their stadium.
- 12:10How bad is that? How bad is that?
- 12:13When you hear that story and I heard it through multiple
- 12:17sources, ladies and gentlemen, multiple sources that there were
- 12:20guys ticket people outside of the stadium handing away
- 12:25tickets, making sure that Philadelphia fans were in the
- 12:27stadium because they wanted to pack out so they can compete
- 12:31with the Knick fans. That's sad.
- 12:33That's it. Philadelphia is a great place, a
- 12:36great sporting place to be. It really is.
- 12:39And and their basketball with Allen Iverson and Allen Iverson.
- 12:42I want to, I would love to get Allen Iverson on the show
- 12:44because Allen Iverson was at every single home game.
- 12:48He was there. He was there for game three and
- 12:50he was there for Game 4. And Allen Iverson was the face
- 12:53of this franchise for a very, very long time.
- 12:56And I remember when before Allen Iverson came to the Philadelphia
- 13:0176ers, he played for Georgetown. And when he played against
- 13:06Villanova, the Philadelphia fans booed him, hated him, absolutely
- 13:10couldn't stand him. But Philadelphia wins the
- 13:12lottery draft, they get Allen Iverson, and he became a fan
- 13:16favorite in the face of this organization for many, many
- 13:18years. Allen Iverson is one of the best
- 13:20shooting guards to ever play in this game.
- 13:22But I will say this, I got to give Edge Comb a lot of credit.
- 13:26Edge Combs going to be a nice players, going to be a great
- 13:28young player in this league. You can see the development of
- 13:31the skid. Shout out to Kyle Lowry, who's
- 13:34probably going to retire a step away from the NBAI don't think
- 13:37he's a Hall of Famer, but everybody gets into the NBA Hall
- 13:39of Fame, so who knows? Kyle Lowry was a five time, six
- 13:42time All Star, So maybe he sneaks into the the Hall of
- 13:46Fame. I don't think he's a Hall of
- 13:47Famer, but he he was a great player, great leader, won a
- 13:50championship with Toronto. So shout out to him.
- 13:52Very well deserved. Kelly Ubrey, And I'll say this
- 13:56about Kelly Ubrey. I, I don't like the hairstyle.
- 13:59I don't the purple or whatever the hell you have in your hair.
- 14:01You're pink, whatever, you're transparent, whatever you needed
- 14:06to show up better for this team. You needed that off the ball
- 14:11offense that we needed to see in this series.
- 14:14If you wanted to be in this series, that's what you saw with
- 14:17Miles McBride when he took over for OG and Anobi.
- 14:19That's what you've seen with some of the players that you
- 14:22brought the bench. Even Jose Alvarado, he was
- 14:24hitting shots. He was doing the things that you
- 14:26needed him to do. He was a pest on the basketball
- 14:29court, defending multiple positions, not just the point
- 14:32guard position, the shooting guard position.
- 14:33At some point, Alvarado was defending the three.
- 14:36That's what you want to see with your secondary players.
- 14:39And again, I think the difference of this team, I'm,
- 14:42I'm going to tell you this, the difference of this team are two
- 14:44things #1 Mike Brown. Mike Brown is a complete
- 14:50difference maker to this team. I, I, I, I really do believe
- 14:55that this team has transformed from what they were in the
- 14:58regular season and how he figured this team out and how
- 15:02it's transformed into what it is now.
- 15:04He has been amazing and even some of the things that he says
- 15:07after the game, it shows everybody how deep he is in to
- 15:13where the team is starting to believe in him as a head coach.
- 15:17I don't know if they were believing him, believing in him
- 15:20during the season, but I thought as the playoffs began and
- 15:23remember when they fell down 2 to one against the Hawks and
- 15:26then he went up there and he said, listen, the team's not
- 15:29playing at a high level. We got to figure things out.
- 15:31I, we're, we're better than this team.
- 15:34I believe we're a championship competitive team.
- 15:36We got to figure it out. We're going to put it together
- 15:37and we're going to come out strong.
- 15:39And he did. He that team came out strong.
- 15:42And I, I'll tell you this, the other guy is Karl friggin
- 15:45Anthony Towns. Everything that I've said about
- 15:49Karl Anthony Towns over the years, he doesn't have heart.
- 15:53He doesn't show up when he you need him.
- 15:56He doesn't play at a high level when you need him to play at a
- 15:59high level. He's all about shooting the ball
- 16:01and hogging the ball and being the aggressor.
- 16:05He changed everything in the series.
- 16:08Everything that he did in the series transformed to what we
- 16:12thought Karl Anthony Towns coming to New York could
- 16:15transform this team into a championship team, a contender.
- 16:19And now this guy is averaging, almost averaged a triple double
- 16:24in some parts of this series and he wasn't scoring.
- 16:27There were games that he was averaging 56 points because he
- 16:29was in foul trouble, but he was averaging 10 rebounds and 11
- 16:32assists. I mean, the guy was just
- 16:35fantastic and he did everything you needed him to do.
- 16:38If it was Jalen Bronson's game or Miles McBride's game or Josh
- 16:42Hart's game, he made sure that they were getting the ball.
- 16:45And that, to me, shows you how much he's become a leader to
- 16:49this franchise and this organization.
- 16:52For anybody that thinks that Karl Anthony Towns hasn't grown
- 16:54up, ladies and gentlemen, this has shown everybody he's grown
- 16:58up. And I love what I see with this
- 17:01team now. I don't know what they're going
- 17:02to do moving forward, being out for a week and a half.
- 17:06And that could happen. I mean, think about it this
- 17:08series the Cavs in Detroit can go for the next week and 1/2.
- 17:12So the Knicks might not play in two weeks, which is a bad,
- 17:15that's a bad thing. But OG and nobody's got to get
- 17:17healthy. Some of the players need to get
- 17:19healthy. I heard that Jaylen Bronson
- 17:21ankle still needs to get get to 100%.
- 17:24So this is great timing for the New York Knicks, but boy, oh
- 17:28boy, Speedy. It's been amazing to watch.
- 17:30Yeah, I'm not as worried about that with the rest versus rest
- 17:33factor. With basketball, we always say
- 17:34what which is better, which is worse.
- 17:36I think for hockey, I I think waiting that long like
- 17:39Carolina's going to have to do is is a bad thing for them.
- 17:41But I think in basketball usually that benefits A-Team to
- 17:43be able to rest up and get healthy because obviously these
- 17:46players advocate for the low management all the time in the
- 17:48NBA. So you they want those
- 17:50particular rest periods where you're not trying to get worn
- 17:53down. And especially with Detroit and
- 17:54Cleveland, they're very physical teams too.
- 17:56So if they can definitely wear out for A7 game series that
- 17:59they're definitely a big help for the Knicks because the
- 18:01Knicks, they're fresh. They can play in so many
- 18:03different ways. And that's what you saw in this
- 18:04series. You've seen for the first time a
- 18:06New York Knicks team really be 10 deep.
- 18:08It's crazy to think this depth is just insane.
- 18:11We were talking about all the year like who has the depth that
- 18:12contend with the OKC Thunder? The Knicks are getting there now
- 18:15to have that because Alvarado's playing really well offensively,
- 18:18Shamitz shooting very well. You're seeing the the young kids
- 18:20play very well and Clarkson, like all these guys off the
- 18:23bench when OG and Anobi was out and they had not only just
- 18:27winning, dominating. And that's the sign of a
- 18:30championship contending team that the Knicks have never had
- 18:34to that extent before with their bench depth and Miles McBride,
- 18:37who's not known as an offensive player getting 7 threes.
- 18:40Like hopefully that. Hopefully that.
- 18:41Will, He's been a good shooter. He shot almost 39% at three this
- 18:45year, so he's a good I. Know there were, I think there
- 18:47were two games in his career too.
- 18:48He had 9 threes in a game. So I know he's he's done it
- 18:50before, but he's obviously been just very inconsistent and now
- 18:53you're seeing him step into that.
- 18:54Think about this. The New York Knicks, if you look
- 18:57at some of the players on their roster, Kollick, McBride,
- 19:01Mitchell Robertson, these all were second round draft picks.
- 19:04So for all the fans out there to think, oh, you need to find guys
- 19:08in the first round to be a championship contending team, go
- 19:11to OK C go look how many players on on the OK C Thunder right now
- 19:14that are second round picks. Look at that.
- 19:17You need those guys. You need to find those guys and
- 19:20Leon Rose has found those guys. Everybody, all the fans out
- 19:24there that couldn't stand this higher and everybody said that
- 19:27Oh my God, the Knicks are putting a guy that has no
- 19:30experience, but he brought a great, a bunch of executives, a
- 19:33great bunch of guys that know the game of basketball.
- 19:35And he sits there at the helm and he puts, he put this team
- 19:39together and probably the probably the greatest move in
- 19:43NBA history, probably the greatest free agency signing in
- 19:47NBA history is Jalen Brunson. I was listening to Charles
- 19:50Barkley on a show the other day and he said I didn't think Jalen
- 19:54Brunson was this good. I knew he was good and OK and
- 19:57what he did with Dallas, he was good.
- 19:59But what he's completely transformed into is been
- 20:03unbelievable. And what the Knicks have turned
- 20:06this organization into a winning organization in in a four year
- 20:10span. The window is now, ladies and
- 20:12gentlemen, the NBA windows are usually three to four years.
- 20:16The Knicks. Have went to the playoffs in the
- 20:19first round, they got eliminated second round, they got
- 20:21eliminated third round and now they're moving back to the to
- 20:25the Eastern Conference finals. It's time to make that jump into
- 20:29the finals. And if the Knicks do that, that
- 20:32shows you that there's growth here that shows you that the
- 20:36executives, the organization knows what they're doing and
- 20:39they're following that path. And for anybody that took shots
- 20:43at Leon Rose making that move for Mikhail Bridges, it's all
- 20:46taken away because you can laugh all you want.
- 20:50Mikkel Bridges has played at such a high level defensively
- 20:54all season 1. This guy's going to be a first
- 20:56team defensive player in the NBA.
- 20:58Him and OG and and Obi are two of the best wing defenders in
- 21:01the league. You can laugh all you want.
- 21:03I got news for you. You know why your Celtics are
- 21:05not in the playoffs? Because they didn't play
- 21:08defense. They didn't play wing defense
- 21:11when it when they needed to. In that series against the 76er,
- 21:13they were up 3:00 to 1:00 and they couldn't finish them.
- 21:16And that you could say whatever you it's Jalen Browns fault,
- 21:18it's Jalen Browns fault. No, it's the teams fault.
- 21:21It was the way the team played and they had no bigs.
- 21:23They had no bigs. And I'm going to say this right
- 21:26now and we're going to get into it in just a few moments or a
- 21:29little bit later in the shot. I'm going to tell you this right
- 21:30now. If they don't go after Yannis in
- 21:33the offseason, they're screwed. That's all I'm going to say
- 21:36about that. For all you Celtic fans, you
- 21:38better beg and scratch and ask Brad Stevens to pull out his
- 21:43whopper and make a dance to the finish line.
- 21:46Because if he doesn't, that Whopper will be stuck in
- 21:49Speedy's mouth, right? No, I'm not the Celtics fan
- 21:52here. I'm talking about the sausage
- 21:53here. You like sausage?
- 21:54I'm not advocating for any sausages from from any Celtics
- 21:59employees, I should say. Little gangrene over.
- 22:01There, going back to no, no, that's your favorite name for
- 22:03the New York Jets. No, it's not my.
- 22:06Well, we are gang green baby. That is the horrible name.
- 22:08Anybody that gives their team the Gang Green name, it's Death.
- 22:13Who names your team Death? Gang Green Man.
- 22:16Don't worry, there will be a reference to a New York Jets
- 22:19quarterback and what's that smell for me?
- 22:21But going back, going back to teams that are still in the
- 22:24playoffs, the New York Knicks looking like they can do a lot
- 22:27of things in combined production too, which is the other aspect
- 22:30of what they were going to do with OG on Anobi out defensively
- 22:34we talked about last week. I wasn't as worried because
- 22:36obviously they have enough really good both starter and
- 22:38bench perimeter defenders. But offensively were they going
- 22:41to get those guys to do it? You talk about Bridges, who kind
- 22:43of disappeared at points during the Hawks series, really
- 22:46elevating his game offensively a lot more, making smart shots.
- 22:49Corner three he did a very good job at, but also doing smart
- 22:52things inside, taking twos when he had to, when he had good
- 22:54space. And I thought you that was a big
- 22:56aspect of it. And you mentioned the biggest
- 22:57thing of all. Carl Anthony Towns I criticized
- 22:59for Game 2 versus the Hawks being very passive.
- 23:02Since then he's on a whole nother level and really turning
- 23:05into the player he was supposed to be when they trade it for
- 23:07him. Yeah, listen, shout out to the
- 23:10New York Nets first and foremost.
- 23:12I didn't pick them to come out of this series.
- 23:14I did say it was a sweet, but I don't know ball.
- 23:16So we we'll stick with that take.
- 23:19Yeah. So playing with through cat is
- 23:21the secret weapon. And I've said that from the
- 23:22beginning. I think this team go as far as
- 23:25they can go based off if they play through Cat, if they play
- 23:28through Jalen Brunson with who's very bald dominant and allow him
- 23:32to dictate the game, then I think they're beatable.
- 23:35But when they play through Carl Anthony Towns, that gives them
- 23:38that flexibility to be able to have Jalen Brunson clothes
- 23:42during the late parts of the game.
- 23:44So shout out to them for continuously staying with that
- 23:47program and it's been working and it's been efficient.
- 23:50I believe Philly gave everything they had to Boston.
- 23:52I knew that they had nothing left in the tank and I know it
- 23:55sounds crazy, but they didn't have anything left in the tank.
- 23:58I don't think they were supposed to be Boston.
- 24:00I think Boston beat itself with continuously to shoot threes and
- 24:03never get into the cup and whatnot.
- 24:04So it allowed them to continue to keep shooting twos and
- 24:08continue to get into the free throw line and allowing their
- 24:11allowing them to actually come from behind and actually
- 24:14overtake the game and late in the fourth quarter versus
- 24:16Boston. But I knew the New York Knicks
- 24:19had everything they were to take.
- 24:20I think the New York Knicks would go to the Finals this
- 24:22year. This been what, 60 years since
- 24:24they've been in the Finals? So I think this would be 60
- 24:29years. So I think that, you know,
- 24:32Detroit would be a tough matchup for him talent wise.
- 24:37I think Cleveland is a tough matchup for him.
- 24:39But I think that the fact that New York has their system
- 24:43together, they have a good coach who's who's a championship
- 24:47winning coach who understands the game, I think he would get
- 24:50them the edge over there. I picked the niche to go to the
- 24:53finals against swept. But outside of that, you know, I
- 24:57would like to recognize the fact that did you did you say earlier
- 25:01your point, Earl, that Mike Brown is doing a hell of a job
- 25:05as a coach? This series, yes.
- 25:07Yes. And Oh yes, so so is it.
- 25:09Would it would it, would my state may be true that there's a
- 25:11coach needed within basketball and it's not just talent driven.
- 25:15No, yes or no No. It's it's so it's still talent
- 25:18driven, but the coach. Talent to win.
- 25:21You need talent to win. Yes, you need a coach.
- 25:24But what was the more that a coach?
- 25:25Brown I I could point out, I could point out a lot of teams
- 25:28that have won without top end coaches.
- 25:30Tell me that Coach Brown. Credit for being a hell of a
- 25:33coach. He has been.
- 25:34So that season, Jaylen. Brown not season, not season.
- 25:38Playoffs in a second round. What matters?
- 25:41Nobody cares about regular season.
- 25:42What is? That you just said throughout
- 25:44the season. I didn't say the season, I said
- 25:46second round of the. Play this series is what I said.
- 25:48OK, series. OK.
- 25:49So you thinking cap on tonight? I thinking Cap is here, buddy,
- 25:53it's here and I'm going to I'm going to torture you right now
- 25:56after you're done with this. Go ahead.
- 25:57Good coach, right? Yes or no?
- 25:59He's OK, He's good. He's good right now.
- 26:01He's proven. He hasn't won, by the way, He's
- 26:03never won as a head coach. Never.
- 26:05So you said a championship coach, He's never won as a head
- 26:09coach. He's gone to the Finals with the
- 26:11Cavs and he's been an assistant coach behind, I don't know,
- 26:15Steve Kerr, Gregg Popovich, anybody is is good when it comes
- 26:19to those two coaches and the team that they have, I mean.
- 26:22Seriously, they don't. No, they don't.
- 26:24I'm going to tell you this, right?
- 26:25Now, whether he's assistant or a head coach, it shouldn't matter
- 26:28if. Mark Jackson, I'll say here's
- 26:30here's where I'm going to throw you a curveball, Mark.
- 26:33Mark Jackson was firing and they brought Steve Kerr in, All
- 26:35right, Remember that. And then the next year, they won
- 26:38a championship, right? We remember that, OK?
- 26:41Mark Jackson transformed those players.
- 26:43He helped guys like Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green
- 26:48figure out who they were on the basketball.
- 26:50Yeah, if you watch. Mark Mark Jackson, the coach.
- 26:52Mark Jackson, the coach. OK, so coach is?
- 26:54Needed. Hold on, hold on.
- 26:55I'm going to. I'm going to show you why
- 26:57they're not needed. Because then when Steve Kerr
- 26:59went over there, he pretty much took over a team that was
- 27:02already built, set up to achieve and win.
- 27:06All right, And what happened? What happened, bud?
- 27:09What happened? They won, right?
- 27:10They they won. They won.
- 27:12And then we hear Steve Kerr come out and say Dreammore Green is
- 27:15the greatest defensive player in NBA history.
- 27:18Give me a prank. Get out of here.
- 27:20Get out of here. He's not the greatest defensive.
- 27:22No, he doesn't. No, he doesn't.
- 27:23No, he doesn't. He's not the greatest defensive
- 27:25player of all time. That is an absolute terrible
- 27:28take. Thank you Steve Kerr, to making
- 27:30me stupid and Dumber than I ever thought.
- 27:32I was thank you. He feels that way.
- 27:34You can't take his opinion. He feels that way because he
- 27:36coached him. That's the only reason why
- 27:38you're going to tell me he didn't like Scottie Pippen
- 27:40because Scottie Pippen didn't like him.
- 27:41He didn't like really like Michael Jordan because Michael
- 27:43Jordan knocked him out. And he also coached Tim Duncan
- 27:45because I want to give him credit.
- 27:46And they want to give him credit.
- 27:47You're going to tell me right now that Draymond Green is
- 27:49better than Tim Duncan? Get the hell out of here.
- 27:51I'm talking about what he said. I'm telling you, I'm telling
- 27:55you. I'm here.
- 27:56I'm going to. I'm going to show you this.
- 27:57Greg Popovich. Greg Popovich.
- 28:00Tim Duncan leaves. He retires, right?
- 28:03Kawhi Leonard is gone. They, they Ginobili's old.
- 28:09They're all, they're all old and all that.
- 28:11How many championships did Craig Popovich win after Tim Duncan
- 28:14left? Zip.
- 28:18What does that mean? What does that mean?
- 28:20Hey, he's. A great coach, he can win.
- 28:22Everybody, right? How many did they win together?
- 28:25What do you mean how many did? They when you caught when they
- 28:27caught a timeout, did he just sit on the sideline you?
- 28:29Mean hold on, he. Had a clipboard out and he's
- 28:31asking. Hold on, how many championships
- 28:33did Tim Duncan win? Oh, that's right, 55.
- 28:36That's right. Exactly. 5 Tim Duncan.
- 28:38Just Doctor Duncan, Greg Popovich, they've got no credit
- 28:42for none of that. Greg Popovich.
- 28:43Nothing. Greg Popovich is one of the
- 28:45most. He's a great coach, one of the
- 28:47more overrated coaches and NBA history.
- 28:51Overrated, overrated. Overrated.
- 28:54All right, so back to your point, Josh Hart as a leader, I
- 28:57disagree with that point. Josh Hart really the.
- 29:00Engine, let's do what you does overtime, definitely.
- 29:06And it's only gonna go as far as Janet Brunson.
- 29:09Heart is a great energy pack. He puts it in.
- 29:12I mean, he only smokes lay up. He just threw a ball in the
- 29:15third. Row.
- 29:17You know, he does things that let's you know that that he's
- 29:20not truly a leader. And McBride guy had a a pretty
- 29:25decent series. But what I wouldn't give him is
- 29:29he's some comeback player or he was just this impactful player.
- 29:32If you take away the 23 points that he scored in a blowout that
- 29:35they won by 30, what was his average?
- 29:37Probably around by 6 points or whatever.
- 29:40You're talking about. Bound one.
- 29:42Man off. The bench.
- 29:43Yeah, 8th man off the bench average 29 points.
- 29:46Excuse me, let me talk. Excuse me, coming off the bench
- 29:49averages 6 points, 1 rebound and one will not be getting the job
- 29:53done. So yes, can he contribute to the
- 29:56Knicks? Absolutely.
- 29:57But I would say that the knits go as far as I'm playing through
- 30:01Cat. Are.
- 30:02You done Led by Jenny Brown. Are you done?
- 30:04And I would say OG is the IT factor in regards to whether or
- 30:09not the Knicks move. Did you hear?
- 30:11That, ladies and gentlemen, OG. What I would say, did you just
- 30:14say? OG on an Opie.
- 30:15Here's what I'm going to say on that one.
- 30:17I. Think it was something because
- 30:18you said hold on before you go there.
- 30:20You said that the Knicks struggle without OG, Yes or no?
- 30:24Yes, you did say that. I didn't think Miles McBride.
- 30:26Would you look at I didn't had one of those, I just blow out.
- 30:29All right. Are you, are you done?
- 30:30Because I want to add, I want to add some I'm not going to talk
- 30:33over. You, because that's what you do
- 30:35you know about. Go ahead, spit it out.
- 30:36Spit it out. All right, now I'm going to tell
- 30:38you. Take last week I'm going to give
- 30:40you so you could because they couldn't hear me because you
- 30:42were talking of No, I wasn't. You're a take last.
- 30:44Week I'm listening to this garbage that doesn't make any.
- 30:46Sense we'll struggle without OG and you wouldn't be surprised if
- 30:51this 70 sisters win the game. How did that favor out for you?
- 30:54How did that workout for you? Did the Knicks look like they
- 30:57struggle by winning by 30 points?
- 30:58Are you done? I don't think they struggle.
- 31:00Are you done? Nobody thought Miles McBride was
- 31:03going to be the third leading scorer of this team.
- 31:05All you do is spit out your garbage.
- 31:07It doesn't make any sense. No, I'm not going to wait.
- 31:09This is done. This is done.
- 31:11It's done. Brush it out.
- 31:13Brush it out. It's terrible. 30 minutes.
- 31:15Thirty minutes. You know when I'm finished and
- 31:17it's garbage, so garbage that lets me know that is that you
- 31:20don't know ball. I don't know, Ball.
- 31:22Stuff out of their back I. Don't know ball.
- 31:25Because at the end of the day, the New York and you do not
- 31:28struggle, okay, they did not struggle with that OG.
- 31:31They actually won by 30 without OG and it was led by Jane and
- 31:37Bus. So now you can speak.
- 31:38Here we go. Here's what I'm going to say.
- 31:40Miles McBride, nobody thought was going to be the third
- 31:42leading scorer of this team. That's one.
- 31:44Number two, you're going to sit here and you're going to make
- 31:47hold on, hold on. You, you all the crap that came
- 31:49out of your mouth. I I want to I want to hurl.
- 31:51Maybe you should go eat oatmeal because that's what you should
- 31:53be eating every single morning because you're bloated.
- 31:57All that crap that's bloat in your mouth.
- 31:59You're absolutely bloated, OK, this garbage and this, this tier
- 32:04of craziness doesn't make any sense as far as knowing ball.
- 32:07Here's why. I know you don't know Ball, OK?
- 32:10Because you're you're going to come out here and you're going
- 32:12to say, well, this guy and that guy didn't you?
- 32:14Weren't you the one that told me that OG and Anobi was not as
- 32:19important to the Knicks going into the series?
- 32:21He's third, he's 3rd and important.
- 32:24Hold on, hold on. You know he is the most
- 32:26important player on this team. He is the most important player
- 32:30on this team because of what he does, the way he does it at a
- 32:33high level. This guy was the best wing
- 32:36defender in the league. The fact that the NBA made him
- 32:39the 10th best defender in the voting for Defensive Player of
- 32:42the Year is an absolute mockery, OK, And as far as I'm concerned
- 32:46with this team, the 76ers gave up after Game 2.
- 32:49They gave up. They did.
- 32:51They gave up. You picked up the win when the
- 32:54OG went out. What are?
- 32:55You talking like all I said is they're going to win one game.
- 32:59What are you talking about? I said they were going to win
- 33:01four games and what? What are you talking about?
- 33:02Pick them OK. So where did the one game come
- 33:04in? What do you mean they could
- 33:05have? Won the one game they.
- 33:06Could have won that. They didn't.
- 33:08They didn't show up. They gave up.
- 33:10They gave up. They gave up.
- 33:12Paul George couldn't hit a shot after the first quarter in game
- 33:15three, scored fifty. Yeah, Paul George is one of the
- 33:17highest, highest price players in NBA, in the NBA right now.
- 33:21This guy gets an extension. He averages 15 points in the
- 33:24first in the first quarter and then throughout the game in the
- 33:27third, in the third game, couldn't hit nothing.
- 33:30He was hitting bricks and oh, but you know ball because you
- 33:33knew that. How about this?
- 33:35You know ball, you know ball. How about this?
- 33:37How much? What was Paul George averaging
- 33:39against your Celtics? Buddy, You know ball.
- 33:43You know ball, you know ball. So give it to me.
- 33:45Give me the number, buddy. Give me the number.
- 33:48You know ball. You know ball.
- 33:49You know your Celtics. Yeah, I watch the game, but I
- 33:52don't, I don't care. 16 points a game.
- 33:54He averaged 16 points a game. And what did he what did he
- 33:58average in this series? What did he average?
- 34:00What did he average? You're the genius. 15.5.
- 34:04OK, so there's a letter. So that's that's all I'm going
- 34:08to say about that Mister Ball. Man, what are you saying?
- 34:10I'm telling you, you don't know what you're talking about.
- 34:15You're sitting here because you said that the Knicks were going
- 34:17to sweep, that you knew. More than I did.
- 34:20Who cares what you do? It's a guess you didn't even
- 34:22know what the Knicks were going to do.
- 34:23You have no idea dude. You.
- 34:25I'm not a Knicks fan and I said. It was you can't even name all
- 34:28your freaking Celtic players. You couldn't even tell me, give
- 34:31me all the Celtic players, tell me all the Celtic, but I can
- 34:34tell you the whole Knicks. But could you tell me all the
- 34:37Celtics? You're a Celtic fan.
- 34:38God, I gotta give it to me. You know ball, You know ball.
- 34:44You know ball, you know. Ball, ladies and gentlemen, Mr.
- 34:48Quinton. Colbert knows Ball know his
- 34:51name. Knows ball.
- 34:53He knows ball. No ball.
- 34:55So this is his way of copping out, because he was.
- 34:57Wrong. I'm not.
- 34:58I'm not copping out anything. Doing my take.
- 35:00And first of all, Josh Hart is the leader.
- 35:02Josh Hart is the leader of this team.
- 35:04Yes, he is. Why is it?
- 35:06Why is the media running to him and not Jaylen Brunson?
- 35:09Because he's entertainment. No, he is a leader.
- 35:12Nobody's doing. It he is a leader.
- 35:14When he came off the when he when they pulled him in Game 4,
- 35:18when he put his hands up and he pointed his hands out and he put
- 35:21four, he put 4. The fans going crazy.
- 35:23Did you see Jaylen Brunson do that?
- 35:25No, Jaylen Brunson walked off the court.
- 35:27No, it's called leadership buddy.
- 35:29It's called leadership buddy. Yeah.
- 35:31Lead by example. Yeah, somebody here lead by this
- 35:33example. Lead by this example before.
- 35:36Yeah, maybe. You need to maybe you need to
- 35:38strengthen your forearm man, because it's it's definitely not
- 35:41strong enough. Maybe you should use your left
- 35:43hand instead of your right. Maybe so.
- 35:44Watch the game a little. Bit I watch the game dude, I
- 35:47watch the. Game.
- 35:48I am I am absolutely embedded into the game.
- 35:51So you telling me that I'm not, I pretty much told you what I
- 35:55saw. And by the way, every single
- 35:57take that you made and you you were saying that or this and
- 36:00that and OG and you just said, first of all, you said Karl
- 36:03Anthony Towns. Everything was played through
- 36:04Karl Anthony Towns. That's the reason why they
- 36:06needed to win. Then all of a sudden you said
- 36:08the most important player on the Dicks is OG and Adobe.
- 36:10Make up your goddamn mind. Then you said Jayla Broughton.
- 36:13Then you said Jayla Broughton. You don't make up your goddamn
- 36:16mind, I said. All right, guys.
- 36:18OK. And I do said OG would be the
- 36:20most important because please, today, your stars need support.
- 36:24I don't need to sweat. I just not just because thank
- 36:27you the best player, but you need your supporting.
- 36:30Thank you very much. Thank you.
- 36:32Very much. You guys are like, I've had to
- 36:34separate kids on JV football. This is like one of those.
- 36:39Thank you very much. Gotta separate you.
- 36:40I'll tell you what I saw after the game.
- 36:42It was a bunch of Knicks fans sweeping Philly towels in
- 36:47Phillies Arena. Right in front of this.
- 36:49Taking it over, making everybody look like a fool.
- 36:54The Philly fans are embarrassed. I live for this, Errol.
- 36:59You know, I went down to that Super Bowl wearing Giants gear
- 37:03when I knew the Eagles were the favorites.
- 37:05I gave the Phillies fans were the Eagles fans.
- 37:08Same people really were giving me hugs and look at them now
- 37:12they can't even show up in the playoffs to support their team.
- 37:15There were a couple of rows of celebrities that were from
- 37:19Philly and everyone else was Knicks fans in that arena for
- 37:22both Games 3 and 4. Maxi was despondent.
- 37:25Oh my God, this was beautiful. And the only thing I want to add
- 37:29before we get to the round table, Errol, I think Mike
- 37:33Brown, and this is, this is maybe more controversial than
- 37:36anything Q had to say. Mike Brown coaches the Knicks
- 37:40Like I'm a producer of this show.
- 37:43I just keep tinkering with stuff, man.
- 37:45I've just keep tinkering with stuff.
- 37:47Now he's really patting works. Now he's really patting himself
- 37:50on the back. No, no, I'm standing.
- 37:52No, no. Let me explain it.
- 37:53Explain it. I I screw up a bunch.
- 37:57This is a fact I find. Sam, where are you?
- 38:00And it gets back and then I figure out how to solve it.
- 38:03Mike Brown put himself with all these weird line UPS later in
- 38:07the season and in early in the playoffs and he was trying
- 38:11different approaches to see what would work.
- 38:13Eventually he settled on this cat at point center type of
- 38:16mentality where they didn't have to run everything through Cat.
- 38:19But now that that became how Cat is playing, it was almost like
- 38:22Cat was doing the triangle on half of the court while Brunson
- 38:26was doing ISO and other things, you know, running screen games
- 38:29on the other side whenever they wanted to.
- 38:32There was nothing anybody could do about it.
- 38:33The fact Errol that they didn't even need OG to embarrass them
- 38:38tells you what at the level that they're playing at with this new
- 38:41thing that Brown just kind of figured out.
- 38:44You know, he just kind of figured out stuff and he plays
- 38:47with it. Look, that's not exactly what
- 38:49you want. You get real nervous as a fan.
- 38:51Like what is this guy doing with all these dumb ass line UPS?
- 38:54He fit. He found one he really liked and
- 38:56nobody has figured out how to stop it yet.
- 38:58Seven straight playoff wins, the most in Knicks history.
- 39:02How about that? That's.
- 39:03Pretty. Sad.
- 39:05That's not sad. That's pretty impressive.
- 39:07You can win seven straight games, seven straight, seven
- 39:10straight. Thank you, we will get to that
- 39:12in Tic Tac no later. There's only 15 teams that have
- 39:15won ten in a row. Right.
- 39:17You know what I learned how after all that, that whole take
- 39:19is this is this is what I learned, right?
- 39:24Thank you very much. Well, I'm tired of you guys
- 39:27yelling at each other. This is a show.
- 39:30This is what we do. Yeah, I understand, but you
- 39:33sound like you're a fifth grade half the time you get you would
- 39:36disagree if you said the sky was blue.
- 39:38No, I wouldn't. We actually have agreed on the
- 39:40show last week if you had, if you watched.
- 39:42We actually agreed on a lot of things on the game.
- 39:44Yeah, I'm attacking Johnny. So I had you guys attack me and
- 39:47you guys are all back. They're copacetic.
- 39:49Listen, I, I only attack when I I think something dumb comes out
- 39:53of somebody's mouth. That that's that's when I attack
- 39:56and I got teeth to attack by the way, so.
- 39:58Talk to him. Smile for the camera.
- 40:01He does. Speedy out, but I still have
- 40:05them. Why don't you hit the music?
- 40:07Let's get to this round table and get it going for the rest of
- 40:12the basketball news. Here we go starting it off
- 40:17Spurs. Wolves tied at 2 after the
- 40:20Wembinyama ejection. Oh boy.
- 40:23I guess Wembinyama is trying to let everybody know that he is
- 40:27sick and tired of him being allowed to be pushed around.
- 40:30This guy is 75 with sharp elbows and he threw one right into
- 40:35Nazreed's throat in the second quarter.
- 40:37Obviously he's out of the game. The Wolves were able to rally
- 40:42the fight off a really spry team without him and tie the series
- 40:45at 2:00. They're feisty.
- 40:47The Timberwolves are a feisty team.
- 40:49No Anthony Edwards or not a healthy Anthony Edwards.
- 40:52They're getting enough from the guys, the secondary players, no
- 40:55Dante Diva, Chanzo, too. They're getting enough offense
- 40:59from a team that without webbing Yama, they're just not the same
- 41:02team. You could see it as good as they
- 41:04are with Fox, who's not healthy. The Aaron Fox is playing with
- 41:07bad ankles right now, but he's playing.
- 41:10Harper's taking over. He's played pretty well in this
- 41:12series, but it's not enough. Castles hasn't showed up in the
- 41:15series the way we expect him, he being the what was he the 6th
- 41:19man of the year Rookie of the year last year?
- 41:20Rookie of the Year. Rookie.
- 41:22So I want to see more from these guys, and they're not showing
- 41:25up. And everybody on the Minnesota
- 41:27Timberwolves are showing up. The leadership is showing, going
- 41:30and that's right now the difference of the series, It's
- 41:31due to webbing. Yama needs to keep his hands to
- 41:34himself if he wants his team to move forward.
- 41:36Yeah, definitely a malicious elbow.
- 41:37Definitely deserves to be thrown out of the game.
- 41:39Not really. Definitely some of that always
- 41:41has been kind of that instigator in the in the paint and I think
- 41:44got to a younger player. And you're right, Wendy's going
- 41:46to have to because remember, this is a really young team too.
- 41:48They're going to have to get this veteran leadership from
- 41:50guys like Fox and guys like Wendy if they want to be able to
- 41:53do it. Because the longer this series
- 41:54goes, the pressure is going to go on them because Minnesota has
- 41:57been there before. They've won some game sevens and
- 41:59I the longer it goes, they definitely have the advantage
- 42:01even with the Spurs having at home team because their defense,
- 42:03the Minnesota is playing very well systematically.
- 42:06You talk about Mike Brown changing his defenses up in
- 42:08coaching adjustment. Chris Finch might be the best
- 42:10coach right now in the West, and he's showing it here with a team
- 42:12that's not, on paper, as good as the Spurs.
- 42:15Yeah, I think that we overreacted a little bit in
- 42:19regards to the elbow. I think if you watching it live
- 42:21that it wasn't necessarily intentional.
- 42:23He just swung the elbow. But if you actually slow it
- 42:25down, definitely looks very intentional.
- 42:28But thank God he isn't suspended for Game 5.
- 42:31But I think that it says a lot about the Spurs that they allow
- 42:34the Wolves to come back and tie the series.
- 42:36The 2 two, I think they were supposed to.
- 42:38Obviously it's going to be a let off in regards to when Webby is
- 42:41out of it because his presence is that impactful, But I don't
- 42:45think they were supposed to lose this game.
- 42:46I think they allowed Anthony Edwards and the temple wolves to
- 42:49kind of bully them in a sense in regards to just, you know,
- 42:52having that that that physicality and that you know,
- 42:56willed and that grit in in their game plan to actually overcome
- 43:01them. Fox stepped up castle.
- 43:04You know, he needs to do it produce a little bit more,
- 43:06especially with Wendy being out. But I think Luke connect
- 43:09somebody who has experience and somebody who's actually, and I
- 43:12actually play, I thought it was on him to kind of come in and
- 43:15kind of be some form of an impact player.
- 43:17Obviously he wouldn't be what a Wimby is, but I thought he had
- 43:20an opportunity to step up and kind of give them that airs that
- 43:23they needed. And I think it's difficult when
- 43:25you have somebody like a Wimby out there that's 7 footed,
- 43:28that's impacting on both ends. And then when he's out, it's
- 43:31just a drop off because you you play through them on offense and
- 43:34you live with knowing that can nobody drive through the middle
- 43:37because he's going to swat it away.
- 43:38So I just think that doesn't have enough to pick it up after
- 43:42he got ejected and they kind of sucked the wind out of him and
- 43:45then they just let the Timber woods come back and and and win
- 43:48the game for. You know, before we move on from
- 43:52this, there was a real incident in game three Errol between
- 43:54Chris Finch and referee Tony Brothers.
- 43:57I don't know if you caught it, I caught it, but Finch calls for a
- 44:00time out. Brothers waits 3 seconds before
- 44:03he awards it is get the balls almost turned over.
- 44:06Finch confronts him about it. Brothers basically goes after
- 44:10him and challenges him in his own huddle.
- 44:12He has to be separated by aforementioned Nazreed and
- 44:16assistant coach Pablo Piggione. Former Nick and Bones Highland
- 44:21stepping in between that. Tony Brothers kind of well known
- 44:25for some of these antics. Yeah, well, if you're going to
- 44:27depend on a referee to do the right thing, ladies and
- 44:31gentlemen, you're not going to get it from the NBA.
- 44:33You're not going to get it from any sport.
- 44:34And that's what you saw. Again, Finch's he's got to speak
- 44:38up. He's got to be a little bit
- 44:39louder and he's got to jump on the court.
- 44:41Throw yourself out there and let him see you.
- 44:44I know. But we'll probably call a
- 44:45technical a flag and foul on him.
- 44:47I I mean, this is the NBA is weird.
- 44:49And I'll say this again, we've had NBA players, Mike James come
- 44:52on and said the sport has completely become a bitch sport.
- 44:55It it's everybody does what they want, they get away with it.
- 44:59And that's the problem. It's got to be more aggressive.
- 45:01We got to see that aggressive game again that we saw in the
- 45:0390s. I think it needs to get back to
- 45:05that game. And until that happens, the NBA
- 45:08and the referees, it's all going to be like lopsided.
- 45:11I it's, it's horrible. It was horrible to watch.
- 45:14Yeah, I don't think that ever going I I think we need this
- 45:16type of energy, like you said, but I don't think it's going to
- 45:18ever get back to that point. It's too much annulator, it's
- 45:20too much data involved. And then then skill set is a
- 45:23totally different ball game where, you know, back in the 90s
- 45:26it was built off the physicality where now it's based off finesse
- 45:30and shooting. So I don't think we're going to
- 45:31see it, but it was good to see Tony brothers get active.
- 45:34And again, we've been talking about how soft the NBA is and
- 45:37how this and how that. But at the end of the day,
- 45:39listen, when we get this action, we got to be prepared and we as
- 45:42fans can't overreal and won't suspensions and won't, you know,
- 45:46penalties and when some physical happened.
- 45:48So, you know, Tony Brothers stepped up and he's one of those
- 45:51guys that has been known to to be that type of have that type
- 45:55of behavior. So, you know, it was good to see
- 45:57him react that way because I think, like you said, we need
- 46:00that type of intensity back in the game of NBA.
- 46:05I got I got teed up a couple of times when I coached some middle
- 46:08school basketball. I don't know, there's a lot of
- 46:12there's a lot of bad officials out there.
- 46:13They're really bad at the youth level.
- 46:15Fish is not a panty dropper. If you think that Tony Brothers
- 46:18has problems as officiating, you should go around and watch some
- 46:21youth sports around this country.
- 46:23It's horrible. It is Fish.
- 46:25Where's panties? Let's talk about an interesting
- 46:28series. Just tipping off for Game 4
- 46:31right now. Pistons have a 21 lead in the
- 46:34series after the Cavs took game three.
- 46:37Taking a look at that game, it was a Donovan Mitchell, you
- 46:41know, doing it not necessarily by himself, but doing everything
- 46:44he could in order to win that game.
- 46:46It was a real tough 35 and 10 from Mitchell to take that and
- 46:52try to get the series even tonight.
- 46:53Well, you ever hear the song by LL Cool J Doing, doing, doing
- 46:57well, that that's what he was doing and he did it in the
- 47:00fourth quarter. He showed up and that's what
- 47:02they need. They need Donovan Mitchell to
- 47:04take over the game. They need to get a little bit
- 47:05more from James Harden and they need to rebound.
- 47:08This is a great offensive rebounding team.
- 47:10Their bags are good. They should be dominating the
- 47:13boards. Jurans endurance what didn't
- 47:16show up in the last series, he had problems rebounding and
- 47:18problems defending. They need to figure out how to
- 47:22get into this guys head. When they did that, when we
- 47:24watched in the first first series against Orlando, Orlando
- 47:28early in the series got into into Duran's head and then all
- 47:31of a sudden Duran's figured it out in the last two games and
- 47:35and started play at a high level.
- 47:36We need to see more of that. They're they have two bigs that
- 47:39can absolutely dominate the paint.
- 47:41We have to see that. Yeah, and you saw fish, like you
- 47:44were saying, Donovan Mitchell, take over at certain points and
- 47:46I think you'd certainly take smarter shots.
- 47:48That's the concern I always had with him.
- 47:49He's a very good like points per game wise playoff player, but
- 47:52sometimes he's plays hero ball a little too much.
- 47:54Like we've seen Russell Westbrook do it points and I
- 47:57think you're not. You're now seeing it where he's
- 47:59taking on that other role and you're now you're seeing with
- 48:01the Cavs, they're taking much smarter shots too.
- 48:03I don't think they did that in Game 2 as much, even though
- 48:06defensively I thought they hung tough like you were saying.
- 48:08The size of the Cavs too could definitely be rattled with
- 48:11Isaiah Stewart and John and Jalen Duran, which I think you
- 48:15saw a little bit in this game too.
- 48:16And I think the Cavs, if they could play like that on the
- 48:18road, can definitely steal the series.
- 48:21Yeah, on paper, I got Cleveland to win this, but Detroit
- 48:25definitely bring a different type of different type of
- 48:28physicality in regards to this series that's going to be
- 48:31impactful. In regards to Cleveland, I think
- 48:33that Tobias Harris has to step up and and give them at least 20
- 48:38points in order for them to compete and win for the rest of
- 48:41the way. And then Duncan Robinson helps.
- 48:42So he has to be efficient from the three-point.
- 48:45But if they don't get those two contributing factors that help
- 48:49Cave in this game, then I just think he's getting he's going to
- 48:52get wore out and he's not going to be able to be the superstar
- 48:55that we know know him to be because again, he just came from
- 48:58a what was a three win deficit last game that you know that's
- 49:02it's it's tiring is going to wear down on you.
- 49:04So he need that somebody has to help.
- 49:06But Cleveland is really having an identity crisis.
- 49:09I think that if Evan Mobley don't step up as a number 2, I
- 49:13think Donovan Mitchell is the number one.
- 49:15I think James Harden should go to #3 and then Evan Mobley be #2
- 49:19obviously, when you look at the game, if Evan Mobley play
- 49:21aggressive and that's the score at the rate that he can score, I
- 49:25think they have a real good chance of being in the Eastern
- 49:29Conference Finals. But if they continue to battle
- 49:33in regards to Donovan Mitchell being number one or James Harden
- 49:38being number one, I think that's a recipe for them to get upset
- 49:41by the Detroit and then we'll see them in the Eastern
- 49:44Conference Finals. If the Mobley is the person,
- 49:47that's the difference making in regards to whether or not
- 49:49keeping advanced to the next round.
- 49:51James Harden we brought up last week when we did King of the
- 49:54Hill as one of the all time suckiest playoff.
- 49:57Blunders. He hasn't been good in this
- 49:59series and he's playing zero defense.
- 50:02I don't know if Detroit can take advantage of it because they
- 50:05don't shoot the ball particularly well from outside
- 50:08outside of Duncan, Robinson and Cade if he's hot.
- 50:11But it's I just it's a weird matchup.
- 50:14It's a little bit of a rock fight and if the Cavs can put it
- 50:18in the net, they're going to win this series in this game
- 50:20tonight. I actually believe what Q was
- 50:23saying. James Harden is not going to be
- 50:25the guy with the Cavaliers. I think Evan Mobley needs to be
- 50:28the number 2. I think they need to get more
- 50:29from the bigs. That's what they need to do.
- 50:32And and honestly, throughout the second-half when James Harden
- 50:35came to this team, when he was traded, you saw the different on
- 50:38the pick and roll. The bigs were playing at a high
- 50:41level. They need to do more of that.
- 50:42Kenny Atkinson is a good coach. He understands how to to work
- 50:46that that pick and roll. He's a great, great minded coach
- 50:49comes from the Popovich slash Kerr bench.
- 50:53So he understands that triangle offense and that's what they
- 50:56need to run. If they don't do that, they're
- 50:58going to have problems moving forward in this series.
- 51:00And even if they get out of this series, there's no way without
- 51:03James Harden giving you at least 15 points that they're going to
- 51:06beat the New York Knicks. It's just not a chance.
- 51:08Not a chance to now. You're sitting at this point in
- 51:10the playoffs and we don't know what we're going to get out of
- 51:12James Harden if he's going to play nice.
- 51:14Would you have still done that trade mid year for Garland?
- 51:18For Harden? You have to because Darius
- 51:20Garland did not want to be there anymore.
- 51:22He had problems with Donovan Mitchell.
- 51:24This has been going on for the last two years.
- 51:26Go look back at all the different things that were said
- 51:28over there in the media. He, they, they couldn't play
- 51:31together. As a matter of fact, when
- 51:33Garland was out, Donovan Donovan was playing in a high level.
- 51:36When when Donovan was out, Garland was playing in a high
- 51:38level. Both guys wanted the ball.
- 51:40Both guys wanted the, the, the, the opportunity to run the
- 51:43offense. And we everybody knew that
- 51:45Donovan Mitchell was the guy and Garland didn't want to be there
- 51:48anymore. He didn't want to deal with the
- 51:49the obsessive emotion of the fans and how much they love the
- 51:53Spider. So he wanted to be traded.
- 51:55So it had to happen. James Harden was the the best
- 51:58player you can get for Darius Garland.
- 52:00I don't know if it was a good move.
- 52:01Only time will tell. But guess what?
- 52:03Every time the Clippers make a trade, whenever they make a
- 52:05trade, those guys never mount up, mount up to be anything.
- 52:09As a matter of fact, there's one right now playing for the 76ers.
- 52:12So we all know how and what that happens and how it happens.
- 52:16Yeah, I think Garlic wouldn't be that.
- 52:18I think Garlic and James Harden Trey was legit.
- 52:21I mean, what are the better superstar that you're going to
- 52:23get for Garland and James Harden?
- 52:25And I think that the problem is that they don't know where to
- 52:28place James Harder. And that's kind of been his
- 52:30story for the last two, two or three craze when he was in
- 52:34Brooklyn, when he was in LA as well.
- 52:36It's like understanding that, yes, he has supreme talent, but
- 52:40he's not the guy to be the number one option in regards to
- 52:44the number one scorer in regards to whatever team that you're
- 52:47creating. I will say this, what I would do
- 52:50if I'm the coach of the team, if I know James Harden is not
- 52:53figuring out how to get that shot up and and and and score,
- 52:57take him off the bench. Let him be the 6th man I think
- 52:59he'll be. I think he'd be more confident
- 53:02coming off and being the guy on the second team.
- 53:05That makes a lot of sense. What James what the way they're
- 53:08using James Harden right now, he's playing what, 3233 minutes?
- 53:11It's too much, too much. I think James Harden 24 to 25
- 53:15minutes, you can get about 17 to 18 points from James Harden and
- 53:19get more from Mobley and all the other guys.
- 53:20I think you that's the winning mentality.
- 53:23I think he's a six man. I think that's where you have to
- 53:26transform him back to what he was in his heydays with OK CI.
- 53:29Was going to say the better wing depth too than you have in
- 53:31previous years. Max Streuse and Sam Marrow, both
- 53:34a good three-point shooters off the bench, and then Jalen Tyson,
- 53:37who's the older brother of Saints rookie receiver Jordan
- 53:39Tyson, is actually played well this season as well.
- 53:41So you can get combined production from that in like
- 53:43Limit Harden's minutes too. Yeah, because he at the end of
- 53:47the day, like if he if he coming off the bench, he don't have
- 53:50that responsibility that he has has been a number one option.
- 53:53So that allow him to play free with no restrictions.
- 53:56But I just don't know if he's has the ability or the ego to be
- 54:00able to come off the bench. All right, let's get to the last
- 54:04playoff series before we get into some news real quick.
- 54:06The Thunder are up three O on the Lakers.
- 54:09Lakers stayed tight with them for the first half first 3/4
- 54:12almost for game three, but they pulled away just too much, too
- 54:18much from that Thunder team late in that series.
- 54:21But right now could be the sweep.
- 54:23Starter 1039. There's no Luka Doncic.
- 54:25That's the problem. Without having Luca not getting
- 54:29that 33 points a game, this guy was the leading scorer of the
- 54:32NBA. It's affected the way they want
- 54:34to run their offense. They're getting enough offense
- 54:37but not enough at the end of the game.
- 54:39Who was the go to guy over the throughout the season who was
- 54:42getting the ball at the end of the game?
- 54:44It was Don Chick and he was shooting up and and being that
- 54:47offensive priority for this Laker team.
- 54:49Not having Don Chick has affected them.
- 54:51You can see it. I think it would have been more
- 54:53of a challenge. I don't know if the Lakers win
- 54:55this series, but at least they would have won one or two games,
- 54:58maybe made it somewhat of a challenge.
- 55:00This is going to it's going what everybody thought it was going
- 55:03to go. I I mean, I thought Dodgek was
- 55:05going to come back. I did not think he was going to
- 55:08miss all three games. I didn't I thought everything
- 55:11that I heard is that he'd be back in the series.
- 55:13He hasn't, and it's been a a big, a big problem for the
- 55:17Lakers, yeah. Q You were mentioning it with
- 55:19with the with the 76ers kind of playing big to go all in on the
- 55:23Celtics. I think the Lakers did the same
- 55:24thing with the Rockets where they had to play big against
- 55:26another big team that Houston has and it's just worn out on
- 55:29them physically. And now you're playing a an OKC
- 55:31team that even with Jalen Williams hurt, still has good
- 55:33size. So it eventually was going to
- 55:34add up. The Lakers offense is really
- 55:36getting. The Lakers have no bench.
- 55:38I know that and that was a problem.
- 55:39Why we thought the Rockets would win in the first round, too, is
- 55:42the Lakers. Death wasn't.
- 55:43There, the Lakers death stepped up in that game, that series,
- 55:45but it's not going to do well. I mean, Lebrons getting it,
- 55:48Reeves is getting it, but when you have Bronie James coming off
- 55:51the bench, good luck ladies. And gentlemen, he's a winner.
- 55:54He's a winner, right? It'll be the final Lakers game
- 55:57for Bron, Brownie, James and JJ Rex.
- 55:59Thank you. Thank.
- 56:01You for the listen Lakers gave it.
- 56:03It's so like I said, like the Lakers game, Houston, everything
- 56:07they had at the end of the day, Houston had an identity issue.
- 56:10They didn't have a KD. They're very young.
- 56:12And then you know, you don't couldn't figure out how to
- 56:15cultivate those guys to be able to run a set offense and none of
- 56:20them could shoot. So it was a big, it was a lot of
- 56:23issues that the Lakers are able to expose and the Lakers are
- 56:26actually able to advance past them because having they have
- 56:30any identity and then they just play smart basketball led by
- 56:34LeBron James. So yeah, I respect that.
- 56:37But in regards to this series with OKC, knew it was going to
- 56:40be a sweep in regards to OKC matching up with LA.
- 56:44They are old and they don't have the talent to be able to compete
- 56:50with OKC at the end of the day. And then, you know, the game
- 56:53before this last game, it was about free throws and OKC was
- 56:57getting to the line that was getting all the calls.
- 56:59And then you turn around the next game after that, Lakers had
- 57:0225 free throws to Oklahoma City, 10.
- 57:05And then the next thing you know, they beat them still about
- 57:0723 points. So and then today, OKC is just a
- 57:09better team. They're work.
- 57:11They're well old machine. They're definitely going to set
- 57:13on repeat this year. And so the Lakers are just
- 57:17tonight away from being sent to Cancun.
- 57:20Q. On a side note.
- 57:21There's a Raymond, there's a team in New York has has
- 57:24something to say about that. Q On news for you.
- 57:27On a side note, we do have to venture the fact that JJ Reddick
- 57:29also embarrassed himself by saying, Oh well, LeBron James
- 57:32gets the worst, worst treatment by the referees among star
- 57:35players. Right, of all people, a 41 year
- 57:39old out there flopping. Maybe it's the same mindset of a
- 57:41foul discrepancy that Joel Embiid does.
- 57:44No folks actually had a meeting with the referees post game
- 57:48about getting foul calls which is insane.
- 57:52I have a meeting with the referees after the game and just
- 57:54tell them that you're a bunch of idiots, let's go move on.
- 57:57All right, we really got one more story we're going to do.
- 57:59Our guest is actually in a little early tonight, so we'll
- 58:01get finished with this news that came out today.
- 58:03We it's like a worst kept secret in the NBA.
- 58:07Giannis is going to be traded, but now we're hearing from
- 58:10Buck's ownership it's going to happen before the draft, which
- 58:13makes you think it might be to one of these teams with a high
- 58:18draft pick. Although we have heard Giannis
- 58:20only wants to to be traded to the East Coast, he does
- 58:24apparently have a list of 10 teams that he's willing to go
- 58:27to. I've said this and watching the
- 58:31Celtics play the way they played in that series against the
- 58:3576ers, they need a big and Giannis is the best guy
- 58:37available. He's one of the top five players
- 58:39in the league. And what I've heard through the
- 58:42Grapevine and I've listened and I've read so many stories, is
- 58:45that Jayson Tatum is the guy that they're thinking about
- 58:49possibly moving laughter or not. Kevin Garnett said it, Paul
- 58:53Pierce said it, that they think right now Jayson Tatum is not
- 58:58100% healthy. He might never be 100% healthy
- 59:01and and to me right now, when you look at the team, Jason
- 59:04Tatum makes a lot of sense. He's not.
- 59:06He's already said that he might need surgery in the offseason
- 59:09again and could be out 1/4 of the season next year.
- 59:12It it's a big problem right now and we don't know if we're going
- 59:15to see the best of Jason Tatum. You tear your Achilles at the
- 59:18age of 2829. Go back and look at Klay
- 59:21Thompson. Was he the same player?
- 59:23Kobe Bryant, He was 3334, right? I think he was.
- 59:27Yep. Wasn't the same player.
- 59:29Go back to all the guys at the tail, you know, and you know, if
- 59:31you're younger, it's different. Jason Tatum is going to, he's
- 59:34going to be 30 years old. I, I think to me in a position
- 59:39that they're in, take the guys. 2828, yeah, he's.
- 59:42Going to be 29. All right, he's 29.
- 59:45Who Cares 20? 9 No, it's not.
- 59:47No, it's not. Next year he'll be 29.
- 59:49No, no it's not. He's at the when you look at
- 59:53your prime went up. No, it's not when you start your
- 59:55prime at 25 years old, you're done at 30.
- 59:58Everything after that is is golden.
- 1:00:01If you're after that, you're you're looked at as a Hall of
- 1:00:03Fame, yes, in the NBA, go look at it.
- 1:00:05Yes, it. Is yes it?
- 1:00:07Is oh, get out of here. It absolutely is.
- 1:00:09It absolutely is your your prime is from 25 to 30.
- 1:00:13And when you tear, when you tear your Achilles, the way he tear
- 1:00:16his Achilles, it was worse than Halliburton.
- 1:00:19It was worse than all the Achilles.
- 1:00:22Damian Lillard, it was worse than any of those guys.
- 1:00:24He teared his whole Achilles. He ruptured his Achilles.
- 1:00:28It's a lot different. So say whatever you want.
- 1:00:32You want to say he's in his prime or he's at, he's still at
- 1:00:34the I don't care. What you said he's in his prime.
- 1:00:36I don't that's 25 to 30 is his. Prime.
- 1:00:38Yeah, he's almost done with his prime, and I think that's the
- 1:00:40guy that's going to move no matter what.
- 1:00:42I I think that makes more sense than any of it.
- 1:00:44Yeah, I was going to mention what you were saying before Fish
- 1:00:46with the draft order that definitely benefits A-Team like
- 1:00:49Atlanta that's in the top 8 now getting from, I know they've
- 1:00:53been rumors on Towns, but you want to get more picks, you're
- 1:00:55going to still need a more desperate team.
- 1:00:57I don't know if any one of these other teams right now are an
- 1:01:00obvious contender besides IC Atlanta right now.
- 1:01:02So if you want to get 2 picks in the top ten, I think that's the
- 1:01:04way to do it. Otherwise you're not going to
- 1:01:06get the multiple picks. Probably that you were to figure
- 1:01:08it in another case. He's not going to Atlanta.
- 1:01:11If the if the Bucks want to trade within the top ten, I
- 1:01:13think that's the only thing he want to go to the Nets.
- 1:01:15Everything that I've heard about Giannis, he wants to go to a
- 1:01:18city. He can build his brand.
- 1:01:20That's what he wants to do. Atlanta No.
- 1:01:23He was in Atlanta. He's not going to build his
- 1:01:24brand in Atlanta. Atlanta is not is not a place
- 1:01:27where he wants to go. He wants to go to Miami, New
- 1:01:29York, LA, but he doesn't even want to go out West.
- 1:01:31So to me, the two cities is New York and Miami.
- 1:01:35So expect Miami to make a bid for him in the offseason.
- 1:01:38That's what I think is going to happen.
- 1:01:40And the Celtics and the Celtics. I forgot about the Celtics too.
- 1:01:43The. Celtics going to the Cessins.
- 1:01:45And it won't be for Jayden Jayson Tatum.
- 1:01:47It'll be for Jaylen Brown. That's your mistake.
- 1:01:50That's your mistake. That just.
- 1:01:51Shows you obviously with him going on his Twitch friend, I
- 1:01:54would think that you know he's on his way out.
- 1:01:57I think he's trying to accomplish.
- 1:01:59I think he's trying to sell us that he's a true #1 which we
- 1:02:04haven't really seen. Obviously he had a good season
- 1:02:07this year in regards to MVP, but what else did he you know what
- 1:02:10else was on the team and outside of Peyton Richard that white
- 1:02:14didn't show up this year. So it was led by him.
- 1:02:17So he obviously had to be the number one option.
- 1:02:19But I don't think Giannis actually go to the septics.
- 1:02:23I think it would be another team.
- 1:02:24Obviously the New York Knicks is a contender.
- 1:02:27I can see that them trading cat and what not after they lose in
- 1:02:30the finals this year to OK see I can see them trading cat out and
- 1:02:34blowing everything up. But for the the most part, I
- 1:02:37don't see why, you know, I think if Boston has an opportunity,
- 1:02:41which I don't think they would take it, Milwaukee, I don't
- 1:02:43think Milwaukee would take the Jaylen Brown trade.
- 1:02:47So I think that he'll probably end up in New York.
- 1:02:50They'll probably blow up everything after they lose in
- 1:02:52the Finals and then they'll go far from there.
- 1:02:55I think it's. Ridiculous take.
- 1:02:56They're they're doing so well and you're saying they're going
- 1:02:58to blow it up. They're.
- 1:02:59Going to blow it up after they lose the finals, after they lose
- 1:03:01the. By the way, by the way, it's not
- 1:03:03Jaylen Brown. Jaylen Brown is the more
- 1:03:05healthier guy, and he proved himself he can be even older.
- 1:03:09And yes, he's older and Jason Tatum came back and almost
- 1:03:12averaged a triple double for this person that you think does
- 1:03:14first of all, have any first? Of all, first of all, Jaylen
- 1:03:17Brown. Jaylen Brown got a big, huge
- 1:03:19contract worth about 450 million.
- 1:03:21Dollars Who gets paid more to him?
- 1:03:23Yeah, guess. Guess what?
- 1:03:24Jason Taylor, how does it make sense you're going to take the
- 1:03:27guy that has the matching contract?
- 1:03:28He's the franchise player, he's proven on all.
- 1:03:31Jayson Tatum is not the franchise player he's.
- 1:03:34Definitely he. Is not not anymore.
- 1:03:36Only to you, Earl, not. He's.
- 1:03:38Not he's not. He's not.
- 1:03:42Jayson Tatum is not. He's never.
- 1:03:44Going to be the same player. He's never going to be the same
- 1:03:46player. How many times do I have to tell
- 1:03:48you? Just came back and almost
- 1:03:49averaged a triple double and. What did he do in game seven?
- 1:03:54What did he do in Game 7? Nothing.
- 1:03:56Nothing. Because he's not healthy and
- 1:03:58he's not going to be healthy. All right, he's.
- 1:04:01Not healthy. All right, guys, that has been
- 1:04:04our time at the round table for this evening.
- 1:04:07We'll do it again next week after the end of the second
- 1:04:09round. Jesus, Oh my God, I want to
- 1:04:12throw up listen, it's garbage. I mean, you want to see my teeth
- 1:04:16are here, baby, they're here. They're ready to roll, baby.
- 1:04:18They're not going to pop out tonight.
- 1:04:20So that's for damn sure. Actually over the weekend.
- 1:04:23Quick story is I'm. Sleeping.
- 1:04:24No, we don't want. To I'm sleeping, so I, I'm, I'm
- 1:04:28getting my, my front teeth fixed because the doctor, it got me,
- 1:04:32you know, I, I was approved for caps and I had nice teeth.
- 1:04:36Yeah, there, there it is. I was sleeping.
- 1:04:39I wake up and then I realize I, I go to the bathroom, I'm
- 1:04:42already to brush my teeth and all that other stuff.
- 1:04:44I look in the mirror and I said my tooth is gone and I'm looking
- 1:04:47all over my bed for this tooth and it was nowhere to be found.
- 1:04:50I I think I, I swallowed it. So yeah, that's that's my luck.
- 1:04:54Lady, one of them is rotten, so it's even.
- 1:04:56Worse, none of my teeth are not rotten.
- 1:04:58I've got good teeth man. What are you talking about?
- 1:05:01You're such an ass. Look at you with your white
- 1:05:05teeth. Anyways, Yeah, my golf clap of
- 1:05:08the day this. Deserves a golf clap.
- 1:05:12No doubt. Golf.
- 1:05:13Clap Golf. Clap.
- 1:05:16All right, ladies and gentlemen, my golf clap goes to this ABS
- 1:05:20crap. And I've told I've I've said it
- 1:05:22once and I'll say it again. This ABS stupid thing that the
- 1:05:27the MLB is holding and and making sure that this is going
- 1:05:31to over last everything that we've seen.
- 1:05:34Listen to this this happened in the Mets series this this past
- 1:05:37weekend. Actually, it happened on Friday.
- 1:05:39The Arizona Diamondbacks are relatively conservative and
- 1:05:43they're a conservative team when it comes to the usage of the ABS
- 1:05:46Challenging the caution may have been the best suited to the
- 1:05:51situation with outfielder Goriel found himself on Saturday night
- 1:05:56against the New York Mets. Goriel had the six.
- 1:05:59He had a six game hitting hitting streak snapped on Friday
- 1:06:03night in the series opening loss to the Mets.
- 1:06:06Came up to the plate against the Mets against right-hander Clay
- 1:06:10Holmes in the second inning on Saturday's contest.
- 1:06:13Facing a one and two count, Holmes proceeded to drop a well
- 1:06:19placed 82 mile per hour sweeping slider perfectly into the top of
- 1:06:23the strike zone. Goriel was fooled badly by a
- 1:06:27pitch and in I guess turned away to avoid being hit, turning his
- 1:06:34head away from the pitch in the process.
- 1:06:36Goriel was that was not even able to see where the pitch
- 1:06:41specifically landed, yet opted to challenge the pitch.
- 1:06:44Safe to say it was not close, wasn't even a close call.
- 1:06:49The pitch was inside the zone by almost a full baseball width.
- 1:06:53The call was confirmed and Goriel was out on a looking at a
- 1:07:00strike. Ladies and gentlemen, this ABS
- 1:07:02challenge thing, I've been watching it with the New York
- 1:07:04Yankees. Actually, the Yankees are one of
- 1:07:07the best teams when it comes to challenging ABS calls in the
- 1:07:11whole league. It's pathetic.
- 1:07:13It's pathetic. I, I, I'd rather watch dodgeball
- 1:07:16than watch baseball right now, honestly.
- 1:07:18The rules are changing. This is our base.
- 1:07:22Baseball is our sports pastime. This is everything America's
- 1:07:25pastime, and we're watching this.
- 1:07:27Could you imagine Babe Ruth standing out there and saying,
- 1:07:30OK, I'm, I'm calling that that's not a strike.
- 1:07:32I mean, could you imagine that Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, any
- 1:07:37one of these guys go out there and say that's not a strike?
- 1:07:40I'm, I'm calling, I'm calling to the cameras.
- 1:07:42It's pathetic. It doesn't help the game, it
- 1:07:46hasn't helped the game. And honestly, as far as I'm
- 1:07:49concerned, when everybody says it's we want to speed up the
- 1:07:52game, Rob Manford, Manfred, whatever Jabba wants to call him
- 1:07:56and whatever you want to call him is a man idiot.
- 1:07:58The guy doesn't know what he's doing in 2028 when his contracts
- 1:08:02out get rid of him. He's an idiot yeah.
- 1:08:05I don't care if baseball doesn't hire us.
- 1:08:06I don't care if any baseball network doesn't hire us.
- 1:08:10They can kiss my ass. This ABS crap the big bass is
- 1:08:13the size of pizza box is the shift is shift that shift it up
- 1:08:17your ass. That's all I got to say about my
- 1:08:20Golf Club of the day. Thank you to all the fans me
- 1:08:22yelling and screaming and trying to laugh over the giggles and
- 1:08:27and try to get people rolling on the show.

- 1:08:41end. Thank you to Nathan.

- 1:08:55audio. Thank you very much, sweetie.
- 1:08:57Who do we have on Thursday? All right.
- 1:08:58Joining is at 8:20 is former NBA center Greg Oden and also his
- 1:09:03director Ritchie Comptum. I'll get that pronunciation from
- 1:09:06Nathan. It's one of his guys.
- 1:09:08They both will be joining at the same time.
- 1:09:10Yeah, I've never interviewed Greg Odin.
- 1:09:13A lot of people think he's one of the biggest busts in NBA
- 1:09:15history, but that's because of injury.
- 1:09:18Unfortunately. He had a really bad foot problem
- 1:09:21when he came into the NBA. If anybody knows the story.
- 1:09:23So love to hear what Greg Odin is doing.
- 1:09:26I guess he's doing a documentary or a movie.
- 1:09:28So interesting. Greg is a guy that I'm, I'm
- 1:09:32rooting for. I know he's had a rough, rough
- 1:09:3510 years, as we all know, but I'm interested to hear what he
- 1:09:39has to say about his, his, his past and, and now his future.
- 1:09:43Anyways, so that'll be Thursday for all the fans that don't know
- 1:09:47we are alive. Every single Mondays and
- 1:09:50Thursdays at 7:00 PM. All right, I'm going, I'm gone.
- 1:09:55Goodbye pluff pluffy time. It's a pluffy with a stake and a
- 1:10:00nice pluffy. Chicken let's.
- 1:10:01Pluff out of here because I got a pluff and dump goodnight.
- 1:10:06There's no worldwide sports radio network.
