- 0:00Speaker 1: Failure does not exist. It's just data. It's going to
- 0:02Speaker 1: make you a question a lot of things about yourself,
- 0:04Speaker 1: if you're capable, if it's worth it.
- 0:06Speaker 2: What do you successful people have that people who don't
- 0:09Speaker 2: make it don't have.
- 0:10Speaker 1: They keep going even when it stops being exciting.
- 0:15Speaker 2: How do we stop comparing our timeline to everyone else's.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Success does not have a finish line, so we can't
- 0:20Speaker 1: compare something that does not exist. Once you believe you
- 0:24Speaker 1: were better than anyone else, You're done.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Carl Centurro. Welcome to on Purpose. It's great to have
- 0:32Speaker 2: you here.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited, Carl.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I've been such a fan of you as from Afar.
- 0:37Speaker 2: We don't know each other. We just met today, but
- 0:40Speaker 2: I've been following your content. It's always direct, it's clear,
- 0:44Speaker 2: the message is easy to understand, easy to apply. There
- 0:48Speaker 2: are millions of people across the world that are following you,
- 0:50Speaker 2: learning from you, and you just told me that the
- 0:52Speaker 2: number one Google question about you is is Carl Centro?
- 0:56Speaker 1: Ai, Well, I think we are in this room. It
- 0:58Speaker 1: can confirm that I'm not so I love it. I'm
- 1:02Speaker 1: not sure j Shutty doing the first Holgram ever.
- 1:05Speaker 3: No, no, no, I'm not doing I love it.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm very.
- 1:08Speaker 2: How does that make you feel when people are asking
- 1:11Speaker 2: that question.
- 1:12Speaker 1: It's so funny because I'm in the actual tech space,
- 1:15Speaker 1: so I developed softwares. I'm in an AI and when
- 1:18Speaker 1: they started asking me about these things, I'm like, it
- 1:21Speaker 1: kind of makes sense. But at the same time, as
- 1:23Speaker 1: soon as I started posting more content, a lot of
- 1:25Speaker 1: the people started realizing it was not I still get
- 1:28Speaker 1: a few questions here and there, but it was mostly
- 1:30Speaker 1: about me coming into the space of social media because
- 1:33Speaker 1: what I do is like the fun side of my life.
- 1:36Speaker 1: What I actually do is text. So I came into
- 1:38Speaker 1: this space and I understood it because no one had
- 1:41Speaker 1: seen me before, and in this moment that we are,
- 1:44Speaker 1: you don't know what's real or what's not. So I
- 1:46Speaker 1: kind of understood it. And that's the point that I
- 1:47Speaker 1: understood that I had to go more into stories show
- 1:50Speaker 1: people are a little bit here and there about me
- 1:52Speaker 1: being real honestly was funny and me being the first
- 1:56Speaker 1: interview here and I'm I'm super happy that people get
- 1:58Speaker 1: to see that I'm a real person.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Absolutely talk to me about If someone listens to this
- 2:04Speaker 2: episode today. What do you want them to walk away with?
- 2:07Speaker 2: What do you want them to feel? How do you
- 2:09Speaker 2: want them to change their life?
- 2:11Speaker 1: To be honest? Like just like the name of the
- 2:14Speaker 1: podcast purpose, I got into social media and everything that
- 2:17Speaker 1: you see. I got into this space because I didn't
- 2:20Speaker 1: want people to feel behind in life because of what
- 2:23Speaker 1: they see. I feel like nowadays we can get confused
- 2:26Speaker 1: very easily in the men's side. I was talking about
- 2:29Speaker 1: this the other day. If you are not flaunting cash
- 2:31Speaker 1: outside of Lamborghini and doing all the things that you see,
- 2:34Speaker 1: you're behind. If you're a woman, if you don't have
- 2:36Speaker 1: a breaking bag, and if you don't have, you know,
- 2:38Speaker 1: a bouquet of roses. I was out of a jet.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I don't have the right person. And
- 2:43Speaker 1: that is not real live. I hated the romanticism that
- 2:46Speaker 1: we're seeing in entrepreneurship, just because real live is not
- 2:51Speaker 1: doing a Canva template and saying to people, do this
- 2:55Speaker 1: course and you're be financially free, and then people believe that,
- 2:58Speaker 1: and that's not real life. We all have struggles, we
- 3:01Speaker 1: all go through things in our lives, even if it's
- 3:03Speaker 1: relationships or work. I want people that every time they
- 3:06Speaker 1: listen to something. It's purpose. You're not behind, You're on track,
- 3:11Speaker 1: You're not on a race with anyone. And that's why
- 3:13Speaker 1: I love so much everything that you portray, and that's
- 3:16Speaker 1: why I wanted to come here so much, because this
- 3:18Speaker 1: is real, live, and I feel like the type of
- 3:20Speaker 1: content that we put out everyone relates in a different way.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I feel like we're all in the same boat, but
- 3:26Speaker 1: we all have different destinations. At the end of the day,
- 3:28Speaker 1: we all have problems. In this room, we all have
- 3:30Speaker 1: a problem and it's not rare, but it's just how
- 3:35Speaker 1: we can get support from now online sub beautiful things
- 3:38Speaker 1: that I follow a lot of the guests that have
- 3:39Speaker 1: been here and have a voice, and I feel like
- 3:41Speaker 1: we all have a voice, and we all have a story,
- 3:43Speaker 1: and if we can put it out there and people
- 3:45Speaker 1: can relate in their own way, I think that's a
- 3:47Speaker 1: purpose of life.
- 3:49Speaker 2: You spoke about timelines there. You spoke about this idea
- 3:51Speaker 2: of not being behind. How do we stop comparing our
- 3:55Speaker 2: timeline to everyone else around us when it feels like
- 3:58Speaker 2: we're so overexposed. You said, to the cause, the burking bag,
- 4:02Speaker 2: the bank balance, the jet, the whatever it may be.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Now you know before you compare yourself to the twenty
- 4:09Speaker 2: people in your class at school. Now you can see
- 4:12Speaker 2: what twenty thousand people across the world are doing. How
- 4:16Speaker 2: do we stop comparing our timeline to everyone else's.
- 4:18Speaker 1: There's no race. They made us believe that there's an
- 4:23Speaker 1: invisible finish line, and success does not have a finish line,
- 4:28Speaker 1: So we can't compare something that does not exist. I'm
- 4:30Speaker 1: going to tell you a little bit about me. When
- 4:32Speaker 1: I graduated from high school, I did not go the
- 4:35Speaker 1: traditional path. Let's say I saw all my friends going
- 4:38Speaker 1: to college doing all this college live and I knew
- 4:40Speaker 1: that college wasn't for me. It was in my path.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And at first it was when social media just started
- 4:44Speaker 1: popping off, and I remember posting, and I remember I
- 4:47Speaker 1: saw called friends talking about me in group chats and stuff.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And that's the thing that a lot of people are
- 4:53Speaker 1: afraid to go out there because of the group. What
- 4:56Speaker 1: will they say? And I was, what will they say
- 4:58Speaker 1: about what? It's you?
- 5:00Speaker 2: We're live?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Let them talk for a little bit. Then when you
- 5:02Speaker 1: make it, everyone knows you, everyone is your friend. So
- 5:06Speaker 1: what I'd like to say is like there is no race,
- 5:08Speaker 1: there is no invisible finish line, you cannot compare to
- 5:11Speaker 1: something that does not exist. When you follow your own path,
- 5:14Speaker 1: when you follow your own passion, a lot of people
- 5:16Speaker 1: will not understand. That is for sure. When you're doing
- 5:19Speaker 1: something different, people will tell you're crazy. People will tell
- 5:21Speaker 1: you that's not the right path to go, and it's
- 5:24Speaker 1: because they're talking about their insecurities, not about the reality
- 5:27Speaker 1: of what you can portray. So when I started on
- 5:29Speaker 1: social media, I remember myself putting out there like years
- 5:32Speaker 1: ago because I had an account. It was all about
- 5:35Speaker 1: different things that want to have now. It was all
- 5:36Speaker 1: about fashion and trips and stuff. And I remember all
- 5:40Speaker 1: this people that I thought were my friends. And if
- 5:42Speaker 1: someone's listening to this and things that their friends are
- 5:46Speaker 1: going to talk about you because you're online, they're going
- 5:48Speaker 1: to talk about you, and that's beautiful. And if you
- 5:51Speaker 1: get four likes and all the people that you thought
- 5:52Speaker 1: they were going to support to you and you thought
- 5:54Speaker 1: they were going to buy your product, you thought they
- 5:56Speaker 1: were going to put a like on your new page
- 5:58Speaker 1: for your brand and they don't, that is showing you
- 6:01Speaker 1: who your true circle is. That is showing you that
- 6:04Speaker 1: you are doing something that they are not willing to do,
- 6:07Speaker 1: which is expose yourself, which is putting yourself out there,
- 6:10Speaker 1: and that is bravery to the max. And I think
- 6:13Speaker 1: that today seeing all these things about comparing ourselves online,
- 6:17Speaker 1: about people that are younger than themselves, because a lot
- 6:19Speaker 1: of people are like, oh my goodness, he's twenty and
- 6:21Speaker 1: he's already a millionaire. Well that's perfectly fine. KFC started
- 6:25Speaker 1: when he was seventy five or seventy something, and then
- 6:28Speaker 1: you see via Wall she decided her first, Like we've
- 6:30Speaker 1: seen this, there's no timeline for success, so if you're patient.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I was just telling to my team here and I
- 6:38Speaker 1: was talking to them about this, and I'm like, if
- 6:40Speaker 1: you're not in a rush about posting at first, you're
- 6:42Speaker 1: gonna get likes. That's fine. If you're not in a rush,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you're gonna get there. So there's no comparison about you
- 6:48Speaker 1: being younger or being older. My parents are sixties and
- 6:51Speaker 1: they're reinvented in themselves. They're like, I want to do
- 6:52Speaker 1: something different their sixties. I started young when I was eighteen,
- 6:57Speaker 1: doing political things with no experience, and now I'm about
- 7:01Speaker 1: to turn twenty nine and be like, oh my gosh,
- 7:02Speaker 1: you're a baby. I'm like, yes, but during those ten
- 7:05Speaker 1: years I didn't compare myself to anyone else and just
- 7:08Speaker 1: follow my path, follow my gut. And now I've got
- 7:11Speaker 1: the chance to work with presidential campaigns, fortune five hundred
- 7:15Speaker 1: CEOs and it was my path. So if you still
- 7:18Speaker 1: want to do it, get the advice from people that
- 7:20Speaker 1: are online, but don't compare to it. Just get it
- 7:23Speaker 1: and go out put yourself out there.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Any successful person I've interviewed or talked to, this idea
- 7:29Speaker 2: of knowing how to deal with whatever one thinks of
- 7:31Speaker 2: you is huge. It's one of the biggest things I
- 7:35Speaker 2: was sharing yesterday. Last night, I was just mentioning too
- 7:37Speaker 2: that I was interviewing Emma Gred for her book launch
- 7:40Speaker 2: here in London at the Hackney Empire, and she's from
- 7:43Speaker 2: East London. I'm from London, so it was a really
- 7:45Speaker 2: really special feeling. And I shared this quote that I've
- 7:48Speaker 2: shared many times, but every time I say it has
- 7:51Speaker 2: such an impact on me and everyone who hears it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: It's from Charles Houghton Cooley. He said it in eighteen ninety,
- 7:58Speaker 2: and the fact he said it in eighteen ninety he
- 8:00Speaker 2: tells us everything he said. The chatlengs today is I'm
- 8:03Speaker 2: not what I think I am. I'm not what you
- 8:05Speaker 2: think I am. I am what I think you think
- 8:08Speaker 2: I am.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I love that it. Yeah, so that's what it's.
- 8:11Speaker 2: So sad statement. Yeah, he's saying that we live in
- 8:14Speaker 2: a perception of a perception of ourselves. So we think
- 8:18Speaker 2: if everyone thinks I'm smart, then I feel smart. But
- 8:22Speaker 2: if everyone else thinks I'm weak, then I feel weak.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You know what. I heard this and it's called the
- 8:26Speaker 1: Marilyn Monroe fact. So she showed up herself how she
- 8:30Speaker 1: wanted to be portrayed. So she was an orphan and
- 8:33Speaker 1: she didn't have the means to be who she was
- 8:35Speaker 1: supposed to be. So I'm like, if you want to
- 8:37Speaker 1: be Hollywood actors, if you want to do all those things,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and you think you don't have the things, Marilyn showed
- 8:41Speaker 1: up as the person she wanted to be. And I
- 8:44Speaker 1: love that because once you believe in yourself so much,
- 8:48Speaker 1: you're gonna make it. Like I always say, you're gonna
- 8:50Speaker 1: make it. I didn't have the contact, I didn't have
- 8:53Speaker 1: the money to do one the things, and it just
- 8:55Speaker 1: worked so hard and believe in myself so hard, in
- 8:57Speaker 1: the talents and the capabilities. I had to that it
- 9:00Speaker 1: starts showing, and that's when people start calling you. So
- 9:02Speaker 1: it's just about believing in yourself so much.
- 9:05Speaker 2: What are the top three traits you believe successful people
- 9:07Speaker 2: have that people who don't make it don't have.
- 9:10Speaker 1: They always ask me what's the difference with a one percent?
- 9:14Speaker 1: They keep going even when it stops being exciting. A
- 9:19Speaker 1: lot of people start. They get the domain, they get
- 9:22Speaker 1: the user name, they get excited doing some Canvava posts,
- 9:26Speaker 1: and then nobody likes, nobody buys. The idea is not good.
- 9:30Speaker 1: The idea is not the problem is that you're not
- 9:33Speaker 1: patient enough, and then you have to be honest with yourself.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And I think the honesty is that you have to
- 9:38Speaker 1: tell yourself that it's not going to be easy, that
- 9:41Speaker 1: it's going to require a lot of effort. And once
- 9:44Speaker 1: you're honest with that, you have to be on a
- 9:47Speaker 1: track that your vision has to be so strong, but
- 9:52Speaker 1: the path to getting there has to be flexible. So
- 9:56Speaker 1: I feel like the one percent is always patient, is
- 9:58Speaker 1: always honest, and the vision has to be so strong,
- 10:01Speaker 1: but the path to getting there has to be flexible.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Once you understand that, you're gonna understand that your timing
- 10:10Speaker 1: is not the timing that you want. I took ten
- 10:12Speaker 1: years to get where I am, So when people see like, oh,
- 10:15Speaker 1: she's an overnight success, overnight success does exist after you
- 10:19Speaker 1: work ten years with nobody watching and nobody clapping for you.
- 10:22Speaker 1: That's what it shows. So be patient, be honest with yourself,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and be very stubborn with your vision. But the path
- 10:31Speaker 1: to get every flexible. So that's the one percent difference.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Once it stops being exciting, be so repetitive about the
- 10:38Speaker 1: boring stuff that you're gonna make it. Because everyone thinks
- 10:42Speaker 1: a success is exciting to get here, to do this podcast,
- 10:45Speaker 1: that the logistics behind it. This is the fun part
- 10:47Speaker 1: when we get to talk. But in any brand, in
- 10:51Speaker 1: any business, any relationship, the boring stuff is what makes
- 10:56Speaker 1: everything stick together in a relationship. I love talking about
- 10:59Speaker 1: relationship because I feel like it's been so romanticized about
- 11:03Speaker 1: things that a relationship is a thing that you work
- 11:06Speaker 1: on every single day. In a business, you work on
- 11:10Speaker 1: relationships with your team, with your employees, even with yourself.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So it's a matter of just repeating the boring stuff
- 11:18Speaker 1: over and over again and getting better at it and
- 11:21Speaker 1: listening to other people also one more thing that we're
- 11:24Speaker 1: talking about that is listening. I feel like once you
- 11:27Speaker 1: think you know it all, you know nothing. That's the
- 11:29Speaker 1: kind of thing. Once you believe you were better than
- 11:32Speaker 1: anyone else, you're done. In my thing, in my company
- 11:36Speaker 1: what we do every Monday, I'm the last one to
- 11:39Speaker 1: speak because if you speak first, as a boss is
- 11:42Speaker 1: a CEO, then everyone's going to agree with you because
- 11:45Speaker 1: they might be afraid not to give you the reason
- 11:49Speaker 1: yes you're good, yes, yes, yes yes. I don't want
- 11:52Speaker 1: yes people around me. I want people to make me better,
- 11:54Speaker 1: and that happens with relationships. You want your partner to
- 11:57Speaker 1: make you better. Right now, I'm in a beautiful relationship
- 11:59Speaker 1: that make me a better entrepreneur, a better woman, a
- 12:03Speaker 1: better because they raise you up. It's not that you're comfortable,
- 12:06Speaker 1: but they make you better. I have beautiful friends who
- 12:09Speaker 1: want me to succeed, So it's a matter of you know,
- 12:13Speaker 1: I feel just listening the power of listening, not knowing
- 12:17Speaker 1: at all. That's how you learn until the last day
- 12:20Speaker 1: of your life. If you listen, you learn, and you
- 12:23Speaker 1: get to know people better. Abou about the people who
- 12:25Speaker 1: love to talk more as well, because people talk too much.
- 12:28Speaker 1: You know that they're the ones who usually not always,
- 12:33Speaker 1: but oh the least and have the least supertraying.
- 12:36Speaker 2: You just reminded me of Eric Schmidt, the former sy
- 12:39Speaker 2: of Google. He had a principle that he called, don't
- 12:43Speaker 2: listen to the hippo in the room. Love that, and
- 12:46Speaker 2: hippo stands for highest paid person's opinion, and he said
- 12:51Speaker 2: the same thing. He said, if I speak in a
- 12:53Speaker 2: leadership meeting, or the most successful or wealthy person in
- 12:57Speaker 2: the room speaks, everyone around them will just agree, and
- 13:00Speaker 2: so it's better to allow everyone else. One thing that
- 13:02Speaker 2: you mentioned that really stands out to me. You said,
- 13:05Speaker 2: what differentiates the winners from the people who don't make
- 13:09Speaker 2: it is that they keep working when it's not exciting.
- 13:13Speaker 2: And I think that's where the follow your Passion movement
- 13:16Speaker 2: went wrong, because people have this belief that if I
- 13:18Speaker 2: follow my passion or if I do my purpose, everything's
- 13:21Speaker 2: going to be easy. I'm going to wake up happy
- 13:24Speaker 2: every day, I'm absolutely going to love everything I do,
- 13:28Speaker 2: not realizing that actually, if you follow your passion, there's
- 13:30Speaker 2: going to be lots of days where you're doing things
- 13:32Speaker 2: you don't want to do, where things are not exciting
- 13:35Speaker 2: where you're not winning, where things are not working out,
- 13:38Speaker 2: and your spot on that being able to work when
- 13:41Speaker 2: things are uncomfortable is what differentiates the top one percent.
- 13:46Speaker 2: And so how do you keep going? How do you
- 13:50Speaker 2: keep trying and experimenting when things feel slow and they're
- 13:54Speaker 2: not going your way? How do we stay patient? To
- 13:57Speaker 2: your first point?
- 13:58Speaker 1: So I like giving as example, go to the gym.
- 14:00Speaker 1: The first time, everything hurts and you see nothing but
- 14:03Speaker 1: just internal pain. And then if you keep going, you
- 14:08Speaker 1: start seeing a little bit here and there, the muscle.
- 14:10Speaker 1: You start seeing here and there a titan. That's the
- 14:13Speaker 1: same effect. Following your purpose and your passion is hard
- 14:17Speaker 1: because you're not going the traditional way right and we're
- 14:20Speaker 1: not going the traditional way. It's gonna hurt. It's gonna
- 14:23Speaker 1: make you question a lot of things about yourself, if
- 14:24Speaker 1: you're capable, if it's worth it, Why it's not working?
- 14:27Speaker 1: Why am I doing wrong? Is the idea bad?
- 14:29Speaker 3: It's not.
- 14:30Speaker 1: But once you surpass that pain, that internal pain, you
- 14:34Speaker 1: start seeing results and it's quiet. Success is quiet at first,
- 14:39Speaker 1: it's not easy because you are not exposed. It's just
- 14:43Speaker 1: you yourself in a room, maybe with a laptop and
- 14:46Speaker 1: not a team or anything. And at first, all entrepreneurs
- 14:49Speaker 1: know you are your own PA, your own personal assistant
- 14:53Speaker 1: who's responding to emails. You are the marketing team, you
- 14:56Speaker 1: are sales, you are everything, and that is fine, that's
- 15:01Speaker 1: how we all started. But once you believe in the
- 15:05Speaker 1: process that you're greeting something inside of you as well
- 15:09Speaker 1: during that change. Because I feel like what success really
- 15:14Speaker 1: is if they ask me, what is success, success is
- 15:17Speaker 1: who you're becoming in the process, is the resilience you're building.
- 15:22Speaker 1: It is the path to the top. You're going to
- 15:26Speaker 1: be losing weight because to get there, you're going to
- 15:29Speaker 1: lose friends. For sure. You're gonna lose friends because you're
- 15:32Speaker 1: not the same person. You're gonna not be able to
- 15:34Speaker 1: speak about the same things on a dinner table. That
- 15:37Speaker 1: is fine. You're gonna maybe lose family members who didn't
- 15:39Speaker 1: believe in you, and that is fine as well. And
- 15:42Speaker 1: you're going to lose a part of yourself that you
- 15:46Speaker 1: might not notice because in that silence of not knowing
- 15:49Speaker 1: it changes, you're changing and that is already success. So
- 15:55Speaker 1: on the way to the top, I always say, the
- 15:56Speaker 1: top is not closed. People at the top will want
- 15:59Speaker 1: to help you I heard a friend of mine saying
- 16:02Speaker 1: a lot of people aren't helping me, and I'm like,
- 16:03Speaker 1: you don't need life. You don't need a lot of people.
- 16:05Speaker 1: You just need one. If you have one person who
- 16:08Speaker 1: grabs you by the hand tells you I'm gonna I'm
- 16:09Speaker 1: gonna help you, I'm gonna introduce you to someone, that
- 16:12Speaker 1: might be enough. You don't need an army of people
- 16:16Speaker 1: to succeed. You need first to believe in yourself and
- 16:19Speaker 1: then just one person to introduce you. So the top
- 16:22Speaker 1: is not closed. The thing is that the top is cold.
- 16:24Speaker 1: People were not expecting to be that cold, because when
- 16:26Speaker 1: you get to the top, it gets lonely sometimes because
- 16:31Speaker 1: since you lost a lot of things during the process
- 16:34Speaker 1: of getting there, it's a new you. And at the
- 16:38Speaker 1: top there are fewer voices, so that means that you
- 16:41Speaker 1: have more time to think. As a CEO you have,
- 16:45Speaker 1: it's you deciding. You don't get to run to other
- 16:48Speaker 1: people lots of times, so that's when your mind has
- 16:50Speaker 1: to be very clear on listening on who you are
- 16:56Speaker 1: and being so sure that any decision that you make
- 16:59Speaker 1: either are urns too good or bad. It's you at
- 17:02Speaker 1: the top who got there. Who've made all decisions to
- 17:04Speaker 1: get there, and you're going to be fine. So I
- 17:06Speaker 1: feel like the same thing. Once you understand that there's
- 17:10Speaker 1: going to be silence, that you're going to lose people,
- 17:12Speaker 1: that you're going to grieve in all part of yourself,
- 17:15Speaker 1: you're ready and you're the climate is slow, and you
- 17:17Speaker 1: lose people, but it's worth it.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I always say to people, You'll get to where you
- 17:21Speaker 2: want in life, just not in the way you imagine it.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Because all of us have a visual of what the
- 17:27Speaker 2: path looks like, and then reality next to it, which
- 17:31Speaker 2: doesn't look like that at all, And then we start thinking, well,
- 17:35Speaker 2: this can't be the right path because it doesn't look
- 17:37Speaker 2: like what I visioned. It doesn't look like the idea
- 17:39Speaker 2: I had in my mind, and reality saying no, no, no,
- 17:41Speaker 2: this is what it's going to look like, and we
- 17:43Speaker 2: just keep debating, we keep fighting it, and then you
- 17:46Speaker 2: don't take the step forward in reality because it doesn't
- 17:49Speaker 2: look like the one in your dream.
- 17:51Speaker 1: In my case, I started so different from where I
- 17:54Speaker 1: am now.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Tell me about that.
- 17:55Speaker 1: So I graduated from high school, like I mentioned, and
- 17:58Speaker 1: I want it to be what it was. It was
- 18:00Speaker 1: blogger in that time because it was like an actual
- 18:02Speaker 1: blog and I started posting, and at first it was
- 18:05Speaker 1: like nothing, and it was kind of tough because a
- 18:06Speaker 1: lot of my friends were talking about me and ooh,
- 18:09Speaker 1: she thinks she's an influence. That was an influencer. I
- 18:11Speaker 1: was like, ooh, she thinks she's a blogger. You know,
- 18:12Speaker 1: but that's so cool when they underestimate you. I love
- 18:17Speaker 1: being underestimated because you get to build quieter. If you
- 18:20Speaker 1: don't have pressure, you don't have to prove anything. Yes,
- 18:24Speaker 1: so not do it. I love it. So once I
- 18:28Speaker 1: started posting these things later on today, they all are
- 18:32Speaker 1: my friends, they all know me, and they all want something.
- 18:35Speaker 1: That's the path. When I started, I thought it was
- 18:37Speaker 1: going to be into fashion. But once I started getting
- 18:39Speaker 1: invited into fashion Week, I understood the power of too
- 18:42Speaker 1: loudging and where it was going. So I started calling
- 18:44Speaker 1: all these brands that were inviting me to fashion Week,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and I started doing their social media accounts. So once
- 18:48Speaker 1: I understood the power of social media, I went into
- 18:51Speaker 1: my first presidential campaign. I managed my first presidential campaign,
- 18:55Speaker 1: then it led me to a second, one third, and
- 18:56Speaker 1: I'm starting my fourth one. So if you told me
- 18:58Speaker 1: I would end up in POD and then that led
- 19:00Speaker 1: to cybersecurity, met development SOFTWAREES and cybersecurity. I would have
- 19:05Speaker 1: never believed it, or me, being a political strategist, never
- 19:08Speaker 1: would have thought in a second. So if you told
- 19:11Speaker 1: me that by age twenty nine, twenty nine, I would
- 19:13Speaker 1: have been divorced, I would have never believed it. And
- 19:16Speaker 1: that is fine. I remember when I got divorced. It
- 19:18Speaker 1: was something like, ooh that she's so young and she
- 19:20Speaker 1: got divorced. And I always loved to talk about it
- 19:22Speaker 1: because it's not a taboo thing like I got the
- 19:25Speaker 1: most amicable divorce ever. It was all good, But it's
- 19:28Speaker 1: just things that happen, and live will just throw things
- 19:32Speaker 1: at you that you're not prepared. But the resilience comes
- 19:36Speaker 1: through the hardest moments of your life, and in that moment,
- 19:41Speaker 1: through all the things that I've been through, and now
- 19:42Speaker 1: I started into this path of social media of what
- 19:44Speaker 1: I do. This is the fun things. I get messages
- 19:46Speaker 1: from all around the world about people me changing their lives,
- 19:49Speaker 1: which I would have never envisioned it. Right, So I
- 19:53Speaker 1: always say to the people I coach and to people
- 19:55Speaker 1: I talk to, do you don't do any Everyone else
- 20:00Speaker 1: is taken right I've heard that the phrase you know
- 20:02Speaker 1: everyone's taking just be you. And in my case, I'm young,
- 20:05Speaker 1: but I've lived so much. Even my Spotify a count
- 20:08Speaker 1: says that I'm sixty three years old, and I totally
- 20:10Speaker 1: believe it. I'm an old soul.
- 20:13Speaker 3: You mean when it does this, what if I wrap?
- 20:16Speaker 1: Exactly? Yeah, this makes sense. Exactly, this makes sense. So
- 20:20Speaker 1: it's just amount of like, do you do whatever dress
- 20:23Speaker 1: if you want a dress in certain way, dress in
- 20:25Speaker 1: a certain way, you want to go a different path
- 20:27Speaker 1: that is not the typical one, do it and don't
- 20:30Speaker 1: criticize others. It's so important because that energy that you're
- 20:34Speaker 1: portraying by criticizing or doing it's not coming back to
- 20:37Speaker 1: you in a goat way. I was talking to a
- 20:39Speaker 1: friend of mine the other day and she said, Oh,
- 20:41Speaker 1: I heard this friend of ours had a baby and
- 20:44Speaker 1: she thinks she's a mom influencer. I thought it was like,
- 20:46Speaker 1: that's so cool. But the way she said it, and
- 20:49Speaker 1: it's those things that I hear all the time. She
- 20:51Speaker 1: thinks she is Oh, she thinks she's a singer. She
- 20:53Speaker 1: thinks she's a designer. She is a designer. She might
- 20:57Speaker 1: not be at the top yet, she's gonna get there.
- 21:00Speaker 1: She's not the top influence, but she's gonna get there
- 21:03Speaker 1: in her own timing. So the way that we portray
- 21:05Speaker 1: words is so important because if someone has blue hair
- 21:09Speaker 1: and you are staring at her because she has blue hair,
- 21:11Speaker 1: let her. It's just like the mob robins thing right
- 21:13Speaker 1: that it's like let them let her. If they want
- 21:16Speaker 1: to do something different that you are not engaged, whent
- 21:20Speaker 1: let them be you do you? You focus on yourself
- 21:23Speaker 1: so much that your energy. I've heard this over and over.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Successful people cannot criticize others because they don't have the
- 21:30Speaker 1: time for it. They're so focused on being better of
- 21:34Speaker 1: For example, I feel like us sitting here. I'm happy
- 21:38Speaker 1: about your success. I'm happy about you having a production company.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I'm truly happy. Like when I saw it, I called
- 21:43Speaker 1: a page who's been so wonderful? A page. If you're
- 21:46Speaker 1: listening to this, it was so good because I'm happy
- 21:48Speaker 1: for it because I know what it takes to get
- 21:51Speaker 1: to certain places. And when people read headlines and when
- 21:54Speaker 1: we put something out there is not to brag. I
- 21:56Speaker 1: always say, when people put a vacation there, it's not
- 21:58Speaker 1: to brag. People put something in their social media. Sometimes
- 22:02Speaker 1: it's not to brag. It's sometimes a way of saying,
- 22:04Speaker 1: you know the times they said no to a lot
- 22:06Speaker 1: of things to get there. So many times they had
- 22:10Speaker 1: to cry themselves to sleep to finally purchase the car
- 22:12Speaker 1: they've been saving for. So a lot of times we
- 22:15Speaker 1: read social media and the ways that we want to read.
- 22:17Speaker 1: If it's with envy, we can twist envy in a way.
- 22:21Speaker 1: If you're jealous about something, let it be for good.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Let it be for If he can do it, I
- 22:25Speaker 1: can do it. Yeah, but not in a way of like,
- 22:27Speaker 1: oh he has it, then it's not for me, or
- 22:29Speaker 1: I cannot have it. There's room for everyone. The world
- 22:32Speaker 1: can give so much. The doors are not closed to
- 22:36Speaker 1: just do you be happy, whether you go and read
- 22:39Speaker 1: the things differently, happy for others. Truly, we are in
- 22:44Speaker 1: a society that is so jealous, so confused because they
- 22:48Speaker 1: don't have it. And I know there's tough times, but
- 22:50Speaker 1: in the toughest times, it's when people can arise, they
- 22:53Speaker 1: can become the person they want to become. I remember
- 22:56Speaker 1: one time I had like twelve dollars to my name
- 22:58Speaker 1: and I was looking at my bank account.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And I could have haven't.
- 23:02Speaker 1: It was when I just started and I needed to
- 23:04Speaker 1: do like my first website for my It was when
- 23:08Speaker 1: e commerce were started boobing, and I remember the YouTubers.
- 23:12Speaker 1: That's one of one of the things. They were like,
- 23:14Speaker 1: you're going to become a billionaire if you do this
- 23:17Speaker 1: product and Amazon FBA was call I thing or something
- 23:20Speaker 1: like that, and I was like, ooh, I'm going to
- 23:22Speaker 1: get into e commerce. So I saw all those YouTubers.
- 23:24Speaker 1: It was like twelve years ago, and I got out
- 23:28Speaker 1: into it. I pay this guy to do my website
- 23:30Speaker 1: and he basically got my card.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I was.
- 23:33Speaker 1: I gave him my card and basically he took like
- 23:36Speaker 1: all the money, didn't anything. And in that moment, I
- 23:40Speaker 1: understood the power of anything in live, like trust. Like
- 23:45Speaker 1: I trusted the guy. It failed. It was a lesson
- 23:48Speaker 1: and I opened my bank account and I feel like
- 23:51Speaker 1: we've all been there. When you look at your bank account,
- 23:53Speaker 1: you're like, oh my gosh, the overdraft fee and all
- 23:54Speaker 1: these things right, And there were two options. Either I
- 23:57Speaker 1: stayed there and cried or I saw to work. That's
- 24:01Speaker 1: how it got into tech. I learned how to code
- 24:03Speaker 1: my own website because I didn't have money to pay
- 24:05Speaker 1: someone to do my website, and I realized later on
- 24:09Speaker 1: how it got into tech was by a moment of failure,
- 24:14Speaker 1: which I love to say, failure does not exist. It's
- 24:16Speaker 1: just data. It's just giving you more information and those
- 24:20Speaker 1: moments where you're like, what am I going to do
- 24:22Speaker 1: with my life and a lot of things. I feel
- 24:24Speaker 1: like people right now and the world is struggling with
- 24:27Speaker 1: financial situations like ever before, and in those moments, I
- 24:32Speaker 1: want you to know that I feel like all successful
- 24:35Speaker 1: people we've been there, like it's not easy to get
- 24:38Speaker 1: to where you want to get. And on my way here,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I remember that a lot of people think they see
- 24:43Speaker 1: the car or they see the back or the watch
- 24:47Speaker 1: and they want that, and I'm like, it's fine, you
- 24:49Speaker 1: can get there, But real success is not assets. Real
- 24:52Speaker 1: success is who you become in the process, and real
- 24:55Speaker 1: success once you get there is who you share it with,
- 24:58Speaker 1: because once you get there, it's like who I want
- 25:01Speaker 1: to share the news. Before I came here, I caught
- 25:03Speaker 1: my partner, I'm like, I'm so excited. He was like, oh,
- 25:06Speaker 1: you look so beautiful, congratulations, and like they're happy for me.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I caught my friend and she's like Oh my gosh,
- 25:12Speaker 1: I'm so excited for you. I brought here my team,
- 25:14Speaker 1: they're so excited for me. It's who you share it with.
- 25:17Speaker 1: And I always say in friendship, if there's a slight
- 25:21Speaker 1: chance of envy or jealousy, the friendship is gone because
- 25:26Speaker 1: they are competing with you, and the second they're competing
- 25:28Speaker 1: with you, it's broken. People who are around you have
- 25:33Speaker 1: to be happy about your success because they know their
- 25:37Speaker 1: timing is coming. They're following their own timeline and they're
- 25:40Speaker 1: happy for you. And that's so important who you share
- 25:44Speaker 1: success with.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Big news, Juny just launched the Kroger and we're celebrating

- 26:14Speaker 2: head to Drinkjuni dot com Forward Slash Kroger to claim
- 26:18Speaker 2: your free caln in store so you can feel better
- 26:21Speaker 2: and live better. I'm so glad you brought up these
- 26:24Speaker 2: more underlying things when it comes to success, especially when
- 26:27Speaker 2: you talk about not criticizing others, because I feel like
- 26:30Speaker 2: as soon as we hear about someone doing something, and
- 26:34Speaker 2: if we're aware of it and they're doing it a
- 26:35Speaker 2: little bit better than us, everyone gets really really critical.
- 26:39Speaker 2: And we're being critical because we're being competitive. We don't
- 26:42Speaker 2: even agree with what we're saying, we're just saying it
- 26:44Speaker 2: because oh, it's uncomfortable to hear that someone's doing it
- 26:47Speaker 2: better than me, that someone's getting it right compared to me.
- 26:50Speaker 2: And I think what that does is it creates a
- 26:52Speaker 2: culture of criticism in our mind, where now I think
- 26:55Speaker 2: about this all the time. My friends who are doing
- 26:57Speaker 2: well on social media will never laugh at someone else
- 27:01Speaker 2: on social media. They'll only send me the good stuff
- 27:04Speaker 2: that other people are doing. They'll say, hey, did you
- 27:06Speaker 2: see this update? Did you see what this person just launched?
- 27:08Speaker 2: Did you see what this person invested in? And all
- 27:10Speaker 2: of my friends who are doing badly on social media
- 27:12Speaker 2: will always send me a video of someone to laugh
- 27:14Speaker 2: at them, to be like oh, did you see what
- 27:16Speaker 2: I'll look at a less laugh at this, and it's
- 27:18Speaker 2: fascinating to me how you get lost in that world
- 27:21Speaker 2: and you feel better about yourself. So what I found is,
- 27:24Speaker 2: if you're doing well, you feel better when other people
- 27:27Speaker 2: are doing better because it shows you there's more opportunity.
- 27:30Speaker 2: But when you're doing badly, you feel happier when other
- 27:33Speaker 2: people are doing worse because that makes you feel like
- 27:35Speaker 2: a bit of an ego boost. And so I think
- 27:37Speaker 2: it's such a good tell as to whether you're focused
- 27:40Speaker 2: on yourself or whether you're not because of the critical piece.
- 27:43Speaker 2: The other thing that you mentioned that really stood out
- 27:46Speaker 2: to me is this idea of sharing it with people. Earlier,
- 27:50Speaker 2: you talked about the idea of being lonely at the top,
- 27:53Speaker 2: and I think people are also lonely at the top
- 27:56Speaker 2: because they don't know how to build the friendships that
- 27:59Speaker 2: you're talking about. Because you can't control whether your friends
- 28:02Speaker 2: envious of you or not. You can't control that. How
- 28:05Speaker 2: do you maintain good relationships on your way up so
- 28:08Speaker 2: that you don't get to the top and then go, oh,
- 28:09Speaker 2: I want to make friends now, because once you're at
- 28:11Speaker 2: the top, you don't know why someone wants to be
- 28:13Speaker 2: friends with you exactly, So how do you maintain great
- 28:16Speaker 2: friendships on the way up without knowing if someone's envious
- 28:19Speaker 2: of you or not.
- 28:20Speaker 1: I think that you change your circle. It's going to
- 28:23Speaker 1: happen because the people you're doing business with usually end
- 28:25Speaker 1: up being your friends, and the old circle just stays
- 28:29Speaker 1: where they are, and not because it's wrong, but because
- 28:31Speaker 1: their lives are different. And if you're doing something non conventional,
- 28:34Speaker 1: you're hanging out with non conventional people with minds that
- 28:37Speaker 1: don't see the impossible, right. So I think you just
- 28:41Speaker 1: change a circle. And that happens in life. Sometimes your
- 28:44Speaker 1: group Chad went silent, someone had a baby, someone got married,
- 28:47Speaker 1: someone went abroad, and the group goes silent, and then
- 28:50Speaker 1: that's just life. The other day, I was got a
- 28:52Speaker 1: dinner and I heard them talk badly about you, And
- 28:55Speaker 1: the response was like, that doesn't matter. What matters to
- 28:58Speaker 1: me is why they felt comfortable to when in your
- 29:00Speaker 1: presence if you're supposed to be my friend. So that's
- 29:03Speaker 1: how you know.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Say that again, that's good if.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Someone's talking about you and they come to you. A
- 29:08Speaker 1: friend comes to you and says, I was at a
- 29:11Speaker 1: dinner and they were talking badly about you. The thing
- 29:13Speaker 1: is not why they were talking about me badly, It's
- 29:17Speaker 1: because why they were so comfortable talking about me in
- 29:20Speaker 1: your presence if you're supposed to be my friend, right,
- 29:24Speaker 1: So I love that because if it's a true friend,
- 29:27Speaker 1: they're not going to dare to talk badly about you.
- 29:30Speaker 1: So that's the thing. I think. Circles changes. I feel
- 29:32Speaker 1: like in my life, my circles have changed multiple times.
- 29:35Speaker 1: And that's just life. Yeah, that's just the circle of life.
- 29:39Speaker 1: And if you're married, sometimes your partner's friends are going
- 29:43Speaker 1: to be your friends. If you get divorced, maybe it's splits.
- 29:46Speaker 1: If you go to college, it's your college friends for
- 29:47Speaker 1: that time. Then you depart from that city and then
- 29:52Speaker 1: you have a new city and you become new friends.
- 29:54Speaker 1: So I always talk about being an immigrant as will
- 29:57Speaker 1: and following your dreams because I feel like in a way,
- 29:59Speaker 1: everyone I pursue something usually leaves home and when you
- 30:03Speaker 1: get there, you're praying that the leads you had is
- 30:07Speaker 1: good enough, and if you're reading a yogurt flavor, that
- 30:10Speaker 1: you know the brand is good. And then you make
- 30:12Speaker 1: your first out of friends and they are starting to
- 30:15Speaker 1: show you the city, and then they become your person
- 30:17Speaker 1: in that city, and then you're pursuing a dream. So
- 30:21Speaker 1: it's just like I feel like it changes wherever you go,
- 30:24Speaker 1: whoever you want. Sometimes it's who can take you there, Yeah, right,
- 30:29Speaker 1: and you're hanging with them because you see that the possibilities.
- 30:32Speaker 1: So it's just a matter of like life. I feel
- 30:35Speaker 1: it's just like the circle of life.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's fair. I feel really fortunate that
- 30:40Speaker 2: I've got friends who have been friends with for probably
- 30:42Speaker 2: about twenty twenty five years, is still in my life,
- 30:45Speaker 2: and your spot on the reason that we can all
- 30:49Speaker 2: still be friends is because I hopefully am not an
- 30:53Speaker 2: arrogant douche and yeah, and they're extremely and they're extremely
- 30:56Speaker 2: non envious, and I think those two things work really
- 30:59Speaker 2: really well together when exactly to your point earlier that
- 31:02Speaker 2: I have a great group of friends who aren't envious
- 31:05Speaker 2: and not competitive and not you know, trying to take
- 31:08Speaker 2: me down. And then on the other side, you're absolutely right,
- 31:11Speaker 2: your circle changes and you meet new people that understand
- 31:15Speaker 2: your new life. And I think that's what it is.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I think people think when your circle changes, it makes
- 31:19Speaker 2: it feel like, oh, because you're doing better, you want
- 31:21Speaker 2: to be around people that are doing better. It's actually
- 31:23Speaker 2: not that. It's actually people understanding you at different stages
- 31:27Speaker 2: of your life, who have seen you in different phases,
- 31:30Speaker 2: who understand the pain you go through. So I have
- 31:33Speaker 2: lots of friends in my industry. The best thing is
- 31:36Speaker 2: we can all relate to each other when we're going
- 31:38Speaker 2: through the same things exact. And my friends from back
- 31:40Speaker 2: home they've seen the full picture of me, and so
- 31:43Speaker 2: I love that too, because they know me deeper than
- 31:46Speaker 2: anyone else on the planet, because they've seen me from
- 31:49Speaker 2: day one exactly. So the idea that your friends change
- 31:52Speaker 2: and your circle changes is valuable at the same time
- 31:56Speaker 2: as that encourage people to be like you don't have
- 31:58Speaker 2: to leave everyone behind, no, and you can open up
- 32:01Speaker 2: the door for other people.
- 32:03Speaker 1: There was this beautiful story. I met one of the
- 32:04Speaker 1: survivors of the Andy's crash and they were set of
- 32:08Speaker 1: a group of friends who were leaving for a rugby
- 32:10Speaker 1: tournament and the plane crashes. And I think, if someone's
- 32:15Speaker 1: seen the show on the movie on f because it
- 32:17Speaker 1: is great, I invite them to watch it. But I
- 32:19Speaker 1: was talking to one of the survivors and he said
- 32:21Speaker 1: with something beautiful that takes me out of like bad
- 32:24Speaker 1: days because I'm like, you were a group of friends
- 32:26Speaker 1: who crashed in the snow. A lot of them died there,
- 32:29Speaker 1: and you stay there for seventy two days, stranded and snow,
- 32:32Speaker 1: and I'm like, how did you pull through? And he's like,
- 32:35Speaker 1: all of us friends was important to see one good
- 32:39Speaker 1: thing every day. And he said something beautiful. I'm like,
- 32:42Speaker 1: are you saying this because it sounds good and he's
- 32:44Speaker 1: like no, because when you're in the snow and there's
- 32:47Speaker 1: no sound and you just see plain white, you find
- 32:50Speaker 1: beauty in things that you didn't understand before.
- 32:53Speaker 2: He said.
- 32:53Speaker 1: While they were listening, like at the rain or the
- 32:57Speaker 1: snow falling, They're like, God is present, and if God
- 33:01Speaker 1: made all of this, that means he's here with us.
- 33:05Speaker 1: And I find a beautiful I'm a truly believer in God,
- 33:07Speaker 1: and I feel like once you leave everything to him,
- 33:11Speaker 1: everything started becoming beautiful. And at that point when he
- 33:14Speaker 1: told me that in seventy two days stranded in the snow,
- 33:17Speaker 1: they saw one beautiful thing. Seventy two days in the
- 33:20Speaker 1: cold with no food, like it was bad. But then
- 33:24Speaker 1: I asked him something. I'm like, how did you know
- 33:26Speaker 1: you're going to survive. And he said this because no
- 33:29Speaker 1: one told us it was impossible. And that is something
- 33:33Speaker 1: that you can take to you. You want to embark
- 33:36Speaker 1: into a new chapter of life, and they tell you
- 33:39Speaker 1: it's impossible. The market saturated, by the way, the market
- 33:41Speaker 1: saturated was invented by someone with low creativity to be honest, true,
- 33:46Speaker 1: but it's just you believe in yourself. Because usually people
- 33:50Speaker 1: put their own fears into our own ideas and our
- 33:53Speaker 1: own dreams. So that's why we believe in them when
- 33:55Speaker 1: we think we cannot make it. So when he said that,
- 33:57Speaker 1: I truly believe it. It's so much because he said,
- 33:59Speaker 1: what if we would have been stranded with a lot
- 34:01Speaker 1: of people around it, the odds of everyone saying, ooh,
- 34:04Speaker 1: they're not going to make it, ooh, what are the conditions,
- 34:06Speaker 1: seventy two days in the cool, They're not gonna make it, it
- 34:08Speaker 1: would have been higher. Right, So he said, nobody told
- 34:11Speaker 1: us that it was impossible. And seeing one good thing
- 34:14Speaker 1: in your life, and I truly believe in that. I
- 34:18Speaker 1: believe in that on the worst days that I have,
- 34:20Speaker 1: I find one good thing. And once you find that
- 34:22Speaker 1: one good thing, you push through. You wake up one
- 34:25Speaker 1: more day and be like, one more day to fix
- 34:27Speaker 1: any problem that I have, one more day to try again,
- 34:30Speaker 1: one more day to become the person I want to become,
- 34:33Speaker 1: one more day, one day at a time. That's why
- 34:36Speaker 1: I don't believe in five year plans and five year
- 34:38Speaker 1: plans with the advance of the technology and everything that
- 34:41Speaker 1: doesn't exist. You know how I hire people, it's the
- 34:44Speaker 1: funniest thing. I love resumes. That's all good, love that,
- 34:48Speaker 1: but I usually take them to a smoothie ride. I
- 34:51Speaker 1: take them with me to a smoothie and I love
- 34:53Speaker 1: how they treat people. I see how they treat the
- 34:56Speaker 1: waiter or the person at the kashir. I see the
- 34:59Speaker 1: sistiffness on ordering they're going to take to like forever
- 35:02Speaker 1: or you know. And then while we're sitting in a
- 35:05Speaker 1: casual environment, I asked questions about life right and when
- 35:09Speaker 1: you get to know the person's going to be part
- 35:10Speaker 1: of your team, being good, being a good person, kind, heard, honest,
- 35:15Speaker 1: and has values, the resume will follow. But if you
- 35:19Speaker 1: don't have that as a person, the rest doesn't matter.
- 35:22Speaker 1: You can have Ivy League people and your team. That
- 35:25Speaker 1: doesn't mean anything, but they're kind people I hired the
- 35:28Speaker 1: other day, so it was impressive. I was doing this
- 35:30Speaker 1: speech in Dubai and then this guy had come from
- 35:35Speaker 1: India and he didn't know how to speak English, so
- 35:39Speaker 1: he wrote on a piece of paper something and he
- 35:42Speaker 1: showed it to me once they were doing a meet
- 35:44Speaker 1: and greet, and it was basically him saying that he
- 35:46Speaker 1: was in tech and that he had saved the last
- 35:49Speaker 1: amount of money and asked his mom to come to
- 35:52Speaker 1: Dubai to meet me and had a chance to work
- 35:54Speaker 1: at my company. And I thought that was so brave
- 35:57Speaker 1: because he didn't have the language, he had spend the
- 36:01Speaker 1: last cent to come and see me, and he was
- 36:03Speaker 1: taking a chance. And that's what I love. The three
- 36:05Speaker 1: seas of life, challenges, choices, and change. Challenges. We all
- 36:10Speaker 1: have them and life will throw at us every single day.
- 36:14Speaker 1: But then you have the chance to make a choice.
- 36:19Speaker 1: And once you have that. This guy I hired him
- 36:22Speaker 1: on the spot. He showed me what I thought. It
- 36:24Speaker 1: was so brave what he had done. So when I
- 36:27Speaker 1: see people that have everything and oh and he had
- 36:30Speaker 1: two ratte syndrome, so when he started talking to me,
- 36:33Speaker 1: he was like having a situation and showing with a
- 36:36Speaker 1: piece of paper trembling, and I thought was so brave,
- 36:40Speaker 1: because the meaning of being brave is not that you're fearless,
- 36:45Speaker 1: is that even though you have fear, you're gonna go
- 36:49Speaker 1: for it. And that moment, he was so brave, and
- 36:53Speaker 1: I just gave him a hug and I like, come
- 36:55Speaker 1: come Monday to my office. I'll pay the hotel, don't
- 36:57Speaker 1: worry about I take care of it. His mom just
- 37:00Speaker 1: right now. And he was a big chance that he
- 37:02Speaker 1: was in my team. So it's just a matter of
- 37:04Speaker 1: like people, if you have air in your lungs, if
- 37:11Speaker 1: you get the chance to wake up one more day,
- 37:13Speaker 1: you can do it. You can totally do it. I
- 37:16Speaker 1: believe in that so much. And I have such an
- 37:18Speaker 1: amazing p I didn't get here alone, like nobody gets
- 37:21Speaker 1: there alone. You have people that have helped you. When
- 37:24Speaker 1: this guy told me that he has survived the situation,
- 37:26Speaker 1: seen good thing and his friendships. Oh and one more
- 37:30Speaker 1: thing he told me, he said that between all of them,
- 37:32Speaker 1: they couldn't complain. And I thought it was so beautiful
- 37:35Speaker 1: because in her every day we complained so much about
- 37:38Speaker 1: dumb things that if you use that energy to complain,
- 37:42Speaker 1: you're going another way, it's the wrong way to go.
- 37:44Speaker 1: And he said that during the snow it was in
- 37:46Speaker 1: no complaining, loving each other, seeing one good thing and
- 37:49Speaker 1: knowing that nobody told him that it was impossible to survive.
- 37:51Speaker 1: So in your every day I feel like what he
- 37:54Speaker 1: said is like, nobody can tell you you're not peopble of
- 37:57Speaker 1: doing something. See one beautiful thing every single day and
- 38:01Speaker 1: do not complain.
- 38:02Speaker 2: That's a great story, that's a great experience. You said,
- 38:05Speaker 2: we can watch the is it a movie.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Or that's a movie. It's called The Society of No. Oh,
- 38:10Speaker 1: it's fantastic and the scenes are so someone to see that.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, you see like how how did they
- 38:17Speaker 1: actually survive? But that's the thing. I feel like, those
- 38:20Speaker 1: those type of situations when people go through that. It
- 38:23Speaker 1: was just like the Hudson River crash and I heard
- 38:26Speaker 1: this beautiful story said what engine is out? The other
- 38:28Speaker 1: one is out as well. This guy goes. I realized
- 38:33Speaker 1: that moment when the plane was crashing that I haven't
- 38:36Speaker 1: loved my wife enough that I didn't have to spend
- 38:38Speaker 1: time with my friends all the things that you are
- 38:40Speaker 1: waiting to do someday, right and that side, we have
- 38:44Speaker 1: our planes crashing every single day. Sometimes we feel like
- 38:47Speaker 1: we're down and under, but that's the moment of wake
- 38:49Speaker 1: up call. That's the moment when you took a deep breath.
- 38:51Speaker 1: I like myself when I'm feeling down, doing the ten
- 38:54Speaker 1: second rule, and it's just counting myself ten nine eight.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Even like rockets, they count backwards because they're going to
- 38:59Speaker 1: go up. So I feel myself like that, even when
- 39:02Speaker 1: I don't feel like I count myself ten nine eight,
- 39:05Speaker 1: seven and one one. I'm up and I'm doing. So
- 39:08Speaker 1: it's little rules here and that I place myself, and
- 39:11Speaker 1: nobody taught me. Another thing I like to cause the
- 39:13Speaker 1: rule of nines. So people who like productivity tips, I
- 39:16Speaker 1: put like a TikTok board and it's like nine squares.
- 39:19Speaker 1: And if you just put nine squares throughout your day
- 39:21Speaker 1: or throughout your week and you cross them, the mind
- 39:23Speaker 1: loves completion. So if you cross it out physically. I
- 39:26Speaker 1: love tech, but I like some things physically cross it
- 39:29Speaker 1: out and post it notes and just cross it out.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Your brain loves completion, and you feel like you're advancing
- 39:33Speaker 1: more than if you think that your brain can hold
- 39:35Speaker 1: everything together. It can. But once you feel completion it's fantastic.
- 39:40Speaker 1: So certain things that I've learned. It's like when when
- 39:42Speaker 1: you're in school and they put a happy happy face
- 39:44Speaker 1: sticker and you're like, yay, and you're happy. When we're adults,
- 39:47Speaker 1: we don't have that, So we have to give that
- 39:49Speaker 1: to ourselves. Then we have to give the grace of
- 39:52Speaker 1: us trying. Nobody gave us the blueprint of life. I
- 39:56Speaker 1: think that people made us believe that we have another day,
- 40:00Speaker 1: that we have more time, time to love, time to forgive,
- 40:03Speaker 1: more time to try that thing that we want to start.
- 40:06Speaker 1: But live life is moments and we think that we
- 40:10Speaker 1: own those moments, but we don't. And that's why we
- 40:14Speaker 1: have to make the most of it. And at the
- 40:16Speaker 1: end of the day, when when our time comes, I
- 40:19Speaker 1: don't want to be able to say I wish I had,
- 40:22Speaker 1: because when the time comes, I want to say I tried,
- 40:27Speaker 1: I loved, I did it my way. And the invisible
- 40:32Speaker 1: footprint that you're living in someone else's life, that's what matters.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I heard the other day that when you die, men
- 40:39Speaker 1: especially get their first set of roses or a bouquet
- 40:43Speaker 1: of flowers.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Now that was.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Beautiful in a way, because why do we say all
- 40:47Speaker 1: those things when people die, Why do we handle a
- 40:50Speaker 1: set of flowers when we can do it when we're alive.
- 40:53Speaker 1: They said, the two times that people are gathered in
- 40:56Speaker 1: your alive, all the important people in your alive are
- 40:58Speaker 1: either at your wedding or at your funeral, right And
- 41:03Speaker 1: I thought that is sad in a way, because real life,
- 41:07Speaker 1: real life is trying, real life is failing. I don't
- 41:10Speaker 1: believe in failure is just data, but let's call it failure.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I believe in the power that we have as humans
- 41:16Speaker 1: to grab each other's hands and be better. Right now,
- 41:19Speaker 1: in this time of our lives, we see more division
- 41:22Speaker 1: than ever, and we see division because we don't understand.
- 41:25Speaker 1: And when we don't understand something, it's easier to criticize,
- 41:28Speaker 1: it's easier to hate. And nowaday with the media, with
- 41:35Speaker 1: the world and what's going on. I believe in unity.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I believe that we're separated by things that should never
- 41:41Speaker 1: be separated. And I love that if we can get
- 41:45Speaker 1: the message of just unity, that we're all humans under
- 41:48Speaker 1: this skin, we are all bones, we're all the same,
- 41:51Speaker 1: and I believe as humans we can give each other
- 41:54Speaker 1: the hand of love and the power of sincerity. And
- 41:57Speaker 1: the power of you know what, I can help you,
- 42:00Speaker 1: and if you need someone, I will call you and
- 42:02Speaker 1: check in on your friends. There's so much loneliness. It's
- 42:05Speaker 1: a new epidemic. It's a new pandemic loneliness, and especially
- 42:10Speaker 1: with economic situation as well as like people are not
- 42:13Speaker 1: happy and able to have kids. And now that I
- 42:14Speaker 1: work in the political space as well, and when you
- 42:17Speaker 1: ask them one, oh, we're not having babies, it's not
- 42:19Speaker 1: because I don't want to, because maybe you know, they
- 42:21Speaker 1: can't afford people who are lonely because they got divorced
- 42:24Speaker 1: or then depression. And I do believe that now, especially now,
- 42:28Speaker 1: we can come together as humans, not as political parties,
- 42:32Speaker 1: not as race, not as nations, but as humans. The
- 42:36Speaker 1: other day, I was sitting at a table where there
- 42:38Speaker 1: were Christians, where they were juice, where they were each
- 42:42Speaker 1: one of the literally Arabs. It was beautiful and I
- 42:48Speaker 1: told them that you realize there's one of each religion
- 42:54Speaker 1: and we can all talk because we can all listen
- 42:57Speaker 1: to each other, and then it's beautiful. But now that
- 43:00Speaker 1: I've been moving around and ubers, the other day, my
- 43:04Speaker 1: uber driver asked me about my religion. He was Muslim,
- 43:08Speaker 1: and I asked him about his and as soon as
- 43:11Speaker 1: I got off the uber, he said, in shal lamn,
- 43:13Speaker 1: I hope your day is beautiful, and I thought it
- 43:16Speaker 1: was beautiful. He was praying in his culture and his
- 43:19Speaker 1: and it's beautiful, and I told him, God bless you.
- 43:24Speaker 1: So the moment that we understand each other as humans
- 43:27Speaker 1: is not as political parties, not as anything else that
- 43:30Speaker 1: the media can portray, and we just see each other
- 43:32Speaker 1: as humans means I think that the moment that we're
- 43:35Speaker 1: sitting in the table, it's a table that should be
- 43:37Speaker 1: everywhere and around the world. It's because you listen, because
- 43:40Speaker 1: you understand. So the moment you start listening to more people,
- 43:43Speaker 1: you understand more and getting your own opinion.
- 43:46Speaker 2: It's so interesting now because I feel like we're listening
- 43:49Speaker 2: to more people than ever before, but we're not hearing
- 43:52Speaker 2: them exactly right, We're not actually hearing them because there's
- 43:56Speaker 2: so much noise. And today we have to more cultures,
- 44:01Speaker 2: more countries, more opinions than ever before, but no one's
- 44:05Speaker 2: actually hearing anyone anymore because you're just filtering it through.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Your own lens because you feel that your opinion is
- 44:13Speaker 1: so set in stone that it becomes your identity.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, it's because we'd rather be right than have peace, exactly.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Yeah, one hundred percent. That's what when you listen to
- 44:22Speaker 1: someone truly, And what you just said is that I
- 44:25Speaker 1: feel like more and more today with politics all around
- 44:28Speaker 1: the world, is that you feel that that's your identity
- 44:31Speaker 1: and that's not your identity. And once you understand more
- 44:34Speaker 1: about situations and we have more people talking about free press,
- 44:38Speaker 1: let's say, more information, different ways that you can get
- 44:41Speaker 1: your information, you can understand that any political party cannot
- 44:43Speaker 1: be your identity. Your identity is something completely different. It's
- 44:47Speaker 1: who you are on your every day, who you're becoming
- 44:49Speaker 1: for a better person. And the other day I found
- 44:52Speaker 1: this beautiful story that I told that there are three
- 44:54Speaker 1: genies and they decided where to hide happiness from humans.
- 44:58Speaker 1: And the one genie goes, you know what, let's hide
- 45:00Speaker 1: it at the bottom of the ocean. And the other goes,
- 45:02Speaker 1: you know what, No, they're gonna build a submarine. They're
- 45:05Speaker 1: gonna find it. Yeah, you're right. The other one says,
- 45:07Speaker 1: let's put at the top of the mountain. He says, no,
- 45:09Speaker 1: they're gonna learn and put equipment. They're gonna climb and
- 45:12Speaker 1: find it, and the last Genie says, why don't we
- 45:15Speaker 1: hide it inside them? They were never gonna dare to
- 45:16Speaker 1: find it there. And I thought it's so funny because
- 45:19Speaker 1: it's true, because we're seeking happiness externally, and we've been
- 45:24Speaker 1: taught that because since we're little. If it's not an applause,
- 45:27Speaker 1: it's not valid when people say let's take a picture
- 45:30Speaker 1: and post it, because if not, it didn't happen. You
- 45:33Speaker 1: know what I love when I take a picture that
- 45:35Speaker 1: I'm never gonna pose because it made me happy.
- 45:37Speaker 2: It's the best.
- 45:39Speaker 1: It's the moment that you understand it was for you.
- 45:41Speaker 1: The other day, my partner took a picture of me
- 45:43Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh my gosh, a corp. Well He's like, no,
- 45:45Speaker 1: to me, you look beautiful. No, And I want to
- 45:47Speaker 1: remember this moment. And it's about moments, it's not about externally.
- 45:51Speaker 1: So when this story about the genies just remind me
- 45:53Speaker 1: of it's true. Happiness is inside you. The purpose is
- 45:57Speaker 1: inside to you. It never left you, just let it
- 45:59Speaker 1: rotten based on someone else's opinions and because they didn't
- 46:02Speaker 1: clap for you, So the purpose and never left the
- 46:05Speaker 1: other day, someone told me I've fell out of my purpose.
- 46:07Speaker 1: I lost my purpose. And I'm like, no, No, your
- 46:10Speaker 1: purpose isn't inside you, It never left you. Who just
- 46:13Speaker 1: let outside opinion dictate your decisions.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's when you feel disconnected from yourself, stop listening
- 46:19Speaker 2: to yourself, that you get distracted by other people's opinion.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Is when you think you've lost your purpose, Corol, I
- 46:28Speaker 2: wanted to switch into a bit of entrepreneurship and I
- 46:31Speaker 2: want to do this segment with you called this or that.
- 46:33Speaker 2: I love it, and so I'm going to ask you
- 46:35Speaker 2: this or that and you're going to tell me which
- 46:36Speaker 2: one and then why it? And we're going to go
- 46:38Speaker 2: through quite a few. So the first one is do
- 46:42Speaker 2: you believe in discipline or motivation?
- 46:44Speaker 1: Oh, discipline hund percent. Motivation fates. Motivation pates when everyone's
- 46:47Speaker 1: I'm still motivated. That happens a lot. I was super
- 46:50Speaker 1: motivated in January to start Jim Went twice motivation diet.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I'm out right when people say I'm motivated to start
- 46:56Speaker 1: a new diet. But I'm going to start on Monday.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Why Monday? Why can't you tusk start Thursday? Because as humans,
- 47:01Speaker 1: we just decided that Monday was it or January was it?
- 47:04Speaker 1: But now what is it? Oh, we're halfway through our
- 47:07Speaker 1: week and it's almost June, so that means we're halfway
- 47:10Speaker 1: through the year. And that means you know what I'm
- 47:12Speaker 1: going to start next year? We're too late. No motivation
- 47:16Speaker 1: fades discipline. This simply makes you wake up the day
- 47:19Speaker 1: so you don't want to. Discipline makes you want on
- 47:21Speaker 1: a rainy day. Discipline means you're up until five am
- 47:25Speaker 1: and you haven't slept, and you haven't had any food,
- 47:27Speaker 1: and you're still going because you have to finish the task.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Discipline one hundred percent Olympic athletes you know, and you
- 47:33Speaker 1: probably talk to so many, and it's discipline. They don't
- 47:36Speaker 1: they don't want to go and swim on minus two
- 47:39Speaker 1: degrees and train for the Olympics. It's and it's gonna hurt.
- 47:42Speaker 1: And that's the same thing with an entrepreneurship. It's gonna hurt.
- 47:46Speaker 1: It's not the same physical plane as an athlete, but
- 47:48Speaker 1: it's a different kind of pain. When you're an entrepreneur,
- 47:51Speaker 1: not going to pay yourself at first a salary. You're
- 47:54Speaker 1: gonna pay your team first, or you're going to have
- 47:56Speaker 1: noodles and pasta for the next year because so you
- 48:00Speaker 1: can't apport a lot of things. It's a different kind
- 48:02Speaker 1: of pain, but it's discipline and if you stick to it.
- 48:06Speaker 1: It's just like when people post the first time they
- 48:08Speaker 1: open an Instagram account, they post once, they post twice,
- 48:11Speaker 1: it's not working. Like discipline, discipline, you're going to get there.
- 48:15Speaker 1: You're going to learn my first video sucked. My first
- 48:18Speaker 1: video has got like fifty likes. No, no, my first
- 48:21Speaker 1: video has got my mom, my dad likes, and probably
- 48:23Speaker 1: someone else account that followed that day, I was a bot, right,
- 48:27Speaker 1: but then it just grows and you learn from that.
- 48:29Speaker 1: It's not immediate.
- 48:30Speaker 2: So discipline, okay, discipline our motivation ideas or execution.
- 48:36Speaker 1: I feel like both because you have to have a
- 48:38Speaker 1: strong idea of what you want to do and not
- 48:40Speaker 1: change ten thousand times the idea because sometimes the idea
- 48:43Speaker 1: is good, but you have to execute it and change
- 48:46Speaker 1: sometimes a lot of things for that idea to work.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Because sometimes we think we know the industry we're getting to,
- 48:52Speaker 1: but we actually don't until we're there, and we have
- 48:55Speaker 1: to do a lot of different things, like the path
- 48:58Speaker 1: to get there. The visual strong. So when people say
- 49:02Speaker 1: that idea is bad. It's not bad. You just haven't
- 49:06Speaker 1: tried one thing for a long time to see if
- 49:08Speaker 1: it's working. So you try five different variables and you
- 49:11Speaker 1: don't know which one's working, and you think, like, h
- 49:13Speaker 1: it's not working. No, just one thing at a time.
- 49:16Speaker 1: I feel like at the same time, a lot of
- 49:17Speaker 1: people have great ideas, but they just don't stick to
- 49:20Speaker 1: it for a long.
- 49:21Speaker 2: That's why I'm an execution over ideas person. I feel
- 49:24Speaker 2: like I've seen the worst ideas become really successful because
- 49:27Speaker 2: someone executed really well on it.
- 49:29Speaker 1: You see La or death right, Yeah? Yeah, water like
- 49:32Speaker 1: water making it water.
- 49:34Speaker 3: It's just water, brilliant, just how they do it.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Then, market saturated that we just talked about it is
- 49:39Speaker 1: not saturated totally.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean I was told podcasting was saturated seven
- 49:43Speaker 2: years ago when there was seven hundred thousand podcasts. Today
- 49:47Speaker 2: there's two and a half million podcasts. So I fully
- 49:50Speaker 2: agree with you. Last one of these intuition or data.
- 49:54Speaker 1: So I feel like intuition is data. Talk to me
- 49:57Speaker 1: about interestion, what is the actual meaning of tuition? And
- 50:00Speaker 1: for me, intuition is just a lot of things that
- 50:03Speaker 1: you've lived, which is data which has given you a
- 50:06Speaker 1: sense that we don't know how to explain. Did you
- 50:08Speaker 1: know that when you're a baby, the first organ that
- 50:10Speaker 1: is born is your stomach. So when you feel intuition
- 50:12Speaker 1: and say I feel it, I feel it is because
- 50:16Speaker 1: technically it started there. So intuition for me is just
- 50:19Speaker 1: data that you've lived in order for not to make
- 50:21Speaker 1: a mistake or in order to make a good decision.
- 50:24Speaker 1: So in my case, a lot of the times when
- 50:26Speaker 1: I started in my career being a woman young at
- 50:30Speaker 1: eighteen manage a political campaign on social media when social
- 50:34Speaker 1: media wasn't a thing, it was kind of like, who
- 50:38Speaker 1: is she? She's young, she doesn't have a degree, she
- 50:41Speaker 1: didn't have the thing right. But then as I started moving,
- 50:45Speaker 1: I've worked with soccer, which is fully male dominated. Tech
- 50:49Speaker 1: is a space that has now more and more women.
- 50:51Speaker 1: But when I started, it was me. Well until now,
- 50:53Speaker 1: I feel like I work with one hundred percent men
- 50:55Speaker 1: on my meetings, on everything, And it's just a matter
- 50:59Speaker 1: of like getting into an industry where you have to
- 51:01Speaker 1: believe in yourself so much that you're not drawn apart.
- 51:04Speaker 1: So when people give me excuses about I'm too young,
- 51:07Speaker 1: or I'm this and that or that, there's no excuse
- 51:09Speaker 1: anymore the path and then information has now been opened
- 51:12Speaker 1: to so much, to so many people. I feelt before,
- 51:15Speaker 1: if it was set on a book, it was that
- 51:18Speaker 1: on the stand. Google came. If Google said it, it
- 51:21Speaker 1: must have been right. Then Alexa came, if Alexa said
- 51:24Speaker 1: it beautiful, if Siri came, it must have been true. And
- 51:26Speaker 1: now we have chagbt. If Chagibt said, the information has
- 51:30Speaker 1: been out there all along. I started coding when there
- 51:33Speaker 1: was no chagpt to help me to code, had to
- 51:35Speaker 1: go and read, actually read and go to articles and
- 51:38Speaker 1: blogs and stuff online to try to understand. So if
- 51:42Speaker 1: you really want it, nowadays you can do it like anything,
- 51:45Speaker 1: and then to renew. So it's just intuition for me
- 51:49Speaker 1: is a muss because it's just backened by the data
- 51:52Speaker 1: that you've lived.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Because you do so much of this in your professional life.
- 51:56Speaker 2: You're guiding people in their presidential campaigns, You're guiding Fortune
- 52:00Speaker 2: five hundred CEOs when it comes to their social media strategy,
- 52:03Speaker 2: the digital strategy. If someone right now wants to stop
- 52:07Speaker 2: building a social media following, what are the first three
- 52:11Speaker 2: things that they should do?
- 52:12Speaker 1: First things, go and search your competitors. You know, what
- 52:16Speaker 1: I love to do. I love to go to Google
- 52:18Speaker 1: and find not the five stars, but the three stars,
- 52:22Speaker 1: because the three stars are giving you a path of
- 52:24Speaker 1: where it was almost good but not terrible, and that's
- 52:28Speaker 1: your gap. So go to Google. Search your competitors, go
- 52:32Speaker 1: to Instagram, and on Instagram, I would go even to
- 52:36Speaker 1: your page when I started, and I wanted to see
- 52:38Speaker 1: what people liked. It's not gonna be the same from
- 52:41Speaker 1: you and me because I'm gonna do something totally different.
- 52:43Speaker 1: So people are like, oh, she's copying or you're copying. No,
- 52:45Speaker 1: nobody's copying anything because warm water is already there has
- 52:48Speaker 1: been created, right, But go to your competitors. The first
- 52:51Speaker 1: time I started my first account on e commerce, I
- 52:55Speaker 1: would go to Google. I would see the three star reviews,
- 52:57Speaker 1: and then I would go to all the people that
- 52:59Speaker 1: I commented. I will go and find them on social
- 53:01Speaker 1: media or go to their social media page and literally
- 53:04Speaker 1: invite them to go see my page. So when people
- 53:06Speaker 1: are like, oh, it's not working, nobody's following me, I'm like,
- 53:08Speaker 1: but have you done the work. It's not easy at first,
- 53:11Speaker 1: especially if you're a sole entrepreneur. So first definitely go and.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Stalk step one.
- 53:17Speaker 1: Yeah, your algorithm is showing you about your same thing
- 53:20Speaker 1: over and over again, so you're saturated that's the way
- 53:22Speaker 1: to go. So you not intentionally, but intentionally your subconscious
- 53:26Speaker 1: strives to copy that, and you turn out to be
- 53:30Speaker 1: something that you're not because you're copying that. Right, the
- 53:33Speaker 1: biggest ideas that I've gotten for other people's brands or
- 53:36Speaker 1: strategies that have done have come. If I'm looking into soap,
- 53:40Speaker 1: I would go to nail polish because that we get
- 53:42Speaker 1: ideas from there and then we are applied here. So
- 53:44Speaker 1: trying to make your algorithm show you something else that's
- 53:46Speaker 1: not in your industry because you're saturated with that that
- 53:49Speaker 1: you think that's the path to go. And if that's
- 53:51Speaker 1: not the path to go, it's done. Force your algorithm
- 53:53Speaker 1: to show your different things. And Third, be patient because
- 53:58Speaker 1: social media today there's a saturation. I started eight months
- 54:01Speaker 1: ago and built a huge platform. It's so funny because
- 54:04Speaker 1: it's like the Mandela effect. Have people talk to me
- 54:07Speaker 1: and say, I've been following you for years and I've
- 54:10Speaker 1: been eight months on social right, so it's just the
- 54:13Speaker 1: fact that they saw me so many times of the
- 54:15Speaker 1: thing they've seen me there but that's the thing my paths.
- 54:18Speaker 1: It can be different from you. And if your patient
- 54:20Speaker 1: and you don't have a rush, and you truly believe
- 54:22Speaker 1: in yourself and your idea, you're going to get there.
- 54:25Speaker 1: So it's just a lot of patients. Anything in life
- 54:28Speaker 1: is patience. Nothing happens in the blink of an eye.
- 54:31Speaker 1: It's like just getting your body toned. Like if you
- 54:33Speaker 1: want to go on a YouTube input how to get
- 54:35Speaker 1: apps in seven days, and there are a lot of
- 54:37Speaker 1: those videos, you're not gonna get them right. The muscle
- 54:40Speaker 1: builds and the muscle of resilience in business, it's hard,
- 54:44Speaker 1: it's tough, but you build a muscle, you build resilience,
- 54:47Speaker 1: you build character, And for me, character is something so
- 54:50Speaker 1: important because today we hear a lot of people talking
- 54:52Speaker 1: about success, but it would truly a success. It's who
- 54:55Speaker 1: you are as a person, who you're leaving with and
- 54:57Speaker 1: the values that you're leaving people with and in your
- 54:59Speaker 1: busines as if you're a business owner, always abcs. The
- 55:02Speaker 1: ABC's is always be communicating. And I love that because
- 55:06Speaker 1: if you are communicating with your team, if you're communicating
- 55:08Speaker 1: and love, nothing can go wrong. I feel like one
- 55:11Speaker 1: of the most important things is humans is the lack
- 55:13Speaker 1: of communication because when there's lack of communication, bad things
- 55:17Speaker 1: happen everywhere. It doesn't matter what happens, is just it
- 55:20Speaker 1: just goes bad. I have one time one of my
- 55:23Speaker 1: team had a bad communication with a business that we
- 55:26Speaker 1: were doing and instead of putting a zero, they added
- 55:29Speaker 1: another zero. It said the wire. So I was like, oh,
- 55:31Speaker 1: that's beautiful, Okay, what we're going to do about it.
- 55:33Speaker 1: It was a lack of communication between teams. So it's
- 55:35Speaker 1: just a matter of like communicating and love the same thing.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Once communication ends, love ends. That's something I like to
- 55:42Speaker 1: talk about, is becoming an entrepreneurs. Who you're with romantically
- 55:46Speaker 1: it's very important.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Interesting tell me about that.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Who you have next to you can definitely define you
- 55:50Speaker 1: because I've seen a lot of very talented people that
- 55:53Speaker 1: can't go past that because of the person who have
- 55:55Speaker 1: next to it, because they make them feel stuck. If
- 55:58Speaker 1: you are a woman get into business, I felt like
- 56:02Speaker 1: you have to have someone that is not afraid of
- 56:04Speaker 1: you being more than them. Maybe because there's certain stigmas
- 56:07Speaker 1: in this life that the man was the one that
- 56:09Speaker 1: provided man was And now we see more and more
- 56:13Speaker 1: entrepreneurs more women who are super powerful by themselves. Right now,
- 56:17Speaker 1: I have the most beautiful relationship right and I see
- 56:19Speaker 1: the difference from others because he is happy by my success.
- 56:23Speaker 1: He's happy to, you know, help me in the ways
- 56:25Speaker 1: that he can to make me succeed.
- 56:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 56:28Speaker 1: I have close friends who have partners who don't make
- 56:31Speaker 1: it easy for them. I feel like when you're an entrepreneur,
- 56:33Speaker 1: you're marrying the vision. You're not marrying the person. You
- 56:36Speaker 1: are marrying late nights. You're marrying an idea that the
- 56:40Speaker 1: other person cannot see but has to trust you. And
- 56:44Speaker 1: when you understand that, everything changes. Because when you marry
- 56:49Speaker 1: an entrepreneur, you're marrying uncertainty, you're marrying late nights. You're
- 56:53Speaker 1: marrying those things that having a nine to five might
- 56:57Speaker 1: not give you because that's more stability, right. But an entrepreneur,
- 57:00Speaker 1: ooh bear, an entrepreneur is just marrying an idea that
- 57:02Speaker 1: might change ten times and you have to be good
- 57:04Speaker 1: with it. It might mean that they're going to miss birthdays. Yeah,
- 57:08Speaker 1: it might mean that they're in their phone all the time.
- 57:11Speaker 1: It might mean that you know, you are on a
- 57:14Speaker 1: dinner and you have to leave to take the call
- 57:17Speaker 1: and you have to be okay with that because you're
- 57:19Speaker 1: marrying that person or you're dating that person. Yeah, so
- 57:22Speaker 1: I feel like who you are with in this lifetime
- 57:25Speaker 1: can either make or break you. And it's just not
- 57:28Speaker 1: about being comfortable with the idea because sometimes, like I'm
- 57:31Speaker 1: comfortable then, so I'm saying, life is not meant to
- 57:34Speaker 1: be comfortable. Life is meant to be uncomfortable. I never
- 57:37Speaker 1: want to be comfortable. And the other day they asked
- 57:39Speaker 1: me in an interview, they said, but why do you
- 57:41Speaker 1: want more? I don't want more because it comes to
- 57:44Speaker 1: monetary because I want more money. It's because I know
- 57:47Speaker 1: that I'm not finished being the woman I want to become.
- 57:51Speaker 1: And when you're becoming, that means you're uncomfortable. And for example,
- 57:54Speaker 1: you right now entering a new space. It's uncomfortable at
- 57:58Speaker 1: times because it's more work and it's more things, and
- 58:01Speaker 1: you have a That's why I.
- 58:02Speaker 2: Take it on. That's why we take it on.
- 58:05Speaker 1: But I could never envision myself being so comfortable that
- 58:07Speaker 1: I'm on a Tuesday night and I'm like, okay, noah, no,
- 58:11Speaker 1: I want more because live is meant to be lived
- 58:14Speaker 1: to the fullest, mean to be used. So much that,
- 58:18Speaker 1: you know, I wake up every day. I came here
- 58:21Speaker 1: and I was so excited about this because you know what,
- 58:24Speaker 1: once you start living I feel like in our industry
- 58:28Speaker 1: and you get to enjoy all this cool places and
- 58:30Speaker 1: dinners and events. I remember the first time I got
- 58:34Speaker 1: invited to the American Music Worst after party, and it
- 58:36Speaker 1: was a Chainsmorkers after party, and I did not know
- 58:38Speaker 1: anyone of the industry. And my friend Jason Richmond, he
- 58:42Speaker 1: was at the time of the vice president of Paramount Pictures,
- 58:45Speaker 1: and I met him there and we were sitting at
- 58:47Speaker 1: this like fireplace and he goes like, oh, it's so cold,
- 58:51Speaker 1: and he goes and I go, yeah, yeah, yeah, And
- 58:53Speaker 1: he's what do you do? And I'm like, oh, I'm
- 58:55Speaker 1: an influencer, I'm a blogger. He's like, oh, that's so cool.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Can you come to my office to Paramount. I'm in
- 59:00Speaker 1: on what we can do together?
- 59:01Speaker 2: You know.
- 59:02Speaker 1: Like I was uncomfortable at that point because they were
- 59:04Speaker 1: all celebrities. I remember like one direction was there, like
- 59:06Speaker 1: Haley sign for Like it was so many people. I
- 59:08Speaker 1: did not feel comfortable. I'm like, what can I talk
- 59:11Speaker 1: to the people about? Like? Who am I the imposter?
- 59:13Speaker 1: Syndrome and imposter syndrome at the end of the day
- 59:15Speaker 1: is just you're getting to a new level that you're
- 59:17Speaker 1: not familiar with. It's like getting to an airport where
- 59:19Speaker 1: you already know the gate, and you already know where
- 59:21Speaker 1: you're gonna have lunch, or you know all these things,
- 59:23Speaker 1: and you go to the airport and you feel easy.
- 59:26Speaker 1: But when you're landing to a new airport you did
- 59:29Speaker 1: not know, you're kind of like, oh, wait, wait, where
- 59:31Speaker 1: is the gate. That's kind of what imposters that it
- 59:35Speaker 1: feels like it's just another place. So at that time,
- 59:38Speaker 1: I remember I was sitting down at this after party
- 59:42Speaker 1: and I started talking to this guy who I did
- 59:45Speaker 1: not know who he was. So I go like, oh,
- 59:46Speaker 1: and what do you do? And he was like I
- 59:48Speaker 1: sing like oh, that's so cool. And then my friend
- 59:50Speaker 1: goes like, oh, you're talking to post Malone and I'm like, ooh,
- 59:52Speaker 1: I didn't know how he looks like, you know, and
- 59:56Speaker 1: this is this really cool things. When I met Daddy
- 59:57Speaker 1: Yankee as well, and I'm like, Okay, where's the guy,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: He's like that's the guy. I'm like, oh, that's the guy,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: you know. So it's just moments that you're uncomfortable and
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: you have to be yourself and you have to be
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: opened up the possibility. It was a what life can
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: bring to you. And at this point, I remember in
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: my career, I got to meet so amazing and talent
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: in people and a lot of times you just see
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: they're humans. When when you see social media and you
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: see a number is just a number. I'm a human,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: You're a human. Everyone's this room. We're just normal people.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: We all have problems. The only thing that we have
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: different is that we dare to believe in ourselves so
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: much that people believed in us and gave us a fall.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I wouldn't be here sitting if people weren't following me.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: You weren't be sitting giving me the interview people that
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: didn't believe in you. So it's just a matter of like,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: don't believe in the imposter syndrome. Don't believe it's not real.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: It's just believe in the thing that I just said. Somewhere.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: You've not been yet, which I love the word yet.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: You're not successful yet, you are not there yet. It's
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: just yet. And I have been doing this, I've been
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: going around. We brought it to so many countries. It's
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty two countries we brought it to.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: And it's that I still build movement. And I'm launching
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: my book next year, so I'm gonna be definitely launching
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: it with you. But I still build movement. Is that
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: we're all builders in either way or not, we are
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: building something. And I love to do this every time
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I go somewhere into a different country, I love to
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: do this part where I put on the screen and
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I'm like, when fear takes over me and it tells
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: you I'm not enough, what do you say? And people
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: go around and say I still build? When and I
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: still doing all these things? And people go like, I
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: still build, And you just start believing I'm a builder.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: You're a builder. We're all builders. We're building different lives.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Someone is becoming a mother full time. That's beautiful. You're
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: building a home. You're building an idea from scratch it
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: doesn't exist. You're a builder. You're building a live alongside
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: someone that you're going to spend the rest of your life.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: You're a builder. You're building an idea that might exist,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: and you want to speak it a little bit. That's awesome.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: You're a builder and in this stage of like, we
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: just see that we're, like I said, in the same
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: boat in different destinations. We all have problems, we'll have
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: crisis in life. And I understood the power of time
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: with this because my dad, I'm an only child. My
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: parents have been they are my life. They are my
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: greatest support. But you know what, it's something that I
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: understood that they always believed in me. I always saw
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: them as builders because they build their businesses from scratch.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I always knew what a real entrepreneurship entrepreneur looks like
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: because when I was young, I would go to the
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: office on a Saturday because they were building right. And
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: my grandma always always something is, you can do it.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: And I remember this you can do it because there
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: was like a little thing in my bed and she
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: would hold my hand and she would let go and
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: she said, you can cross. You can do it. And
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: it's the same thing. The most beautiful thing that you
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: can do in live is believing yourself. So much of
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: what you're building. It doesn't matter what it is, but
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: it's just believing in what you're building. And in this
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: moment of you can do it. Sometimes I do what
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: it's called the power post and the power pose. I
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: heard this article about this neurosurgeon who stood up that
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: he was going to do operate in this little girl's brain.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: She was three years old, and as a neurosurgeon, he
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: said that if he had had like a tiny mistake,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: the girl would basically be brain dead. So he said
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: that it was like a sixteen seventeen hour surgery, and
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: he would go in front of a mirror before it,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: and he did the power poles right and after I
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: heard that, I always do the power post. So what
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: is the power post? You stand in front of a mirror,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: you put your arms like a superman, and you lock yourself.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: You see yourself and you see who you really are.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: You're like, you know what, let's do this. Bring it.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: They tell me I can't watch me. You think I
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: cannot do it, watch me. And I love that because
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: once you understand the power that is inside you, nothing
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: can break you. And seeing yourself in the mirror is
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: something that I always ask how many times you talk
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: to yourself? Like, no, I talked to myself. No, you
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: are thinking, you're having thoughts. And there was a Harvard
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: study I said that seventy eight percent of thoughts are
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: negative on a daily basis. So when I heard that,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I'm like, you're not talking to yourself. You are listening
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: to your thoughts in mute. But what if I told
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: you that you stand in front of a mirror and
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: you said, you know what, Coral, I'm gonna have a
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: beautiful day. You're so powerful, you're so capable, you're breathing.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: You get one more chance, and you put yourself in
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: powerfles and you see yourself, You see the parents side
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: do No one that you admire has something different than you.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: They just believe in themselves so much that once you
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: stand in front of the mirror and you do the
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: talk to yourself and you do this, ooh, it becomes
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: so beautiful. Yah, oh I love it.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: I mean, I can definitely say that before I go
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: on stage, there's really a mirror there because I'm backstage.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: But whenever I go on before stage, if I'm in
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: power post, it is so much more easier to go
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: out there and own the stage, yes, than it is
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: when you're like just sitting there thinking about stuff, whatever
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: it may be. And the distinction you made between the
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: thoughts and the mind that's not talking to yourself that's
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: just hearing. Yeah, and the big one that I took
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: away there. My favorite type of people are over communicators.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: And when you were talking about couples, this is how
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: I think about a relationship. You're in one place, your
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: partner's in another place, and you're driving to the same
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: party tonight, and your partner leaves a bit earlier than you.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: You leave a bit later, but you call them up
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: and say, hey, i'm running a bit late. Can you
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: wait for me outside? And your partner says, yeah, yeah, sure, sure, sure,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: I'll wait for you outside. That's cool. What time you're
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: going to get there? You're like, I think I'm going
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: to get there twenty minutes after you get there. They go, great, fine,
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: come it. Twenty minutes after they're waiting there, you're on
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: the way. You get stuck in a bit of traffic.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: You go, hey, look i'm still ten minutes behind. I'll
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: be there in thirty minutes. Why don't you go inside?
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Your partner says, I thought you wanted me to wait.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: You go, no, no, no, it's okay, it's okay. You just
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: go inside. You know I'm going to be a bit later.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: You get there thirty minutes later, you walk in the relationship.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Wasn't getting there at the same time. It wasn't that
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: you were moving at the same pace. It's that you
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: were in constant and conversation and communication and connection about
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: where you were. And I think that's the communication that's lost.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: And I love that you're posting on your social media
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: those things that I did. One similar, but it was
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: about traffic and like one is having a baby, one
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: just divorced, one is having all situations and live and
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I feel like that is social media. We'd just see
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: a tiny window. We don't see the full picture. And
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: that's when we communicate each other and you talk to
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: your partner, you talk to your friends, you see you
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: see like, oh we're not so behind. Oh it's not
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: that perfect. I'm like, when it comes to my social media,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: I wanted people to leave with a message, not with
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: what I have, not with where I live, not with
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: anything at all, because my life is not perfit at all.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: I understood the power of time and lively. My dad
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: got cancer and he got diagnosed and there was a
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: moment in life where he's wonderful to thank God. But
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: he got into an exam and he got stepsis from it,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: and he was in intensive care for a long time,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: and I understood the power of time of the things
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: that I wanted to do, and I'm like, I want
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: to do everything now. And it's the moments when you
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: understand all this things right as an only child, I
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: feel like when they ask you, how is it to
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: be an only child? Was it tough when you were
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: a kid? No, it's when you are an adult and
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: you realize that everything is up to you. So it's
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: just a matter of like how you can communicate. Everything's
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: about communication. Communicate about the beautiful things you can tell person.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Why wait, if you are in love with someone, say it,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: even if you're afraid. Have you heard that? Grays and
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: out of my line? It's beautiful. It's like Eric Salan
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: that just passed away. He has this beautiful line where
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: he says, say it. If you're in love with someone,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: say it, even if it hurts in your bones, even
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: if you're afraid, even if it's not the result that
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: you want to hear, say it. And I feel like
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: that's life. Go for it, dare to say it. In
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: a meeting, I heard this amazing story about the guy
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: that invented spidamin water, and he went to Coca Cola
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: and basically said, I have the next product, and he
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: literally sold the idea of having like water with flavors
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: and he got pay out like four billion I think
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: if I'm not wrong, So it's just about it, like
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: going communicating, dare to do it. The worst thing that
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: can happen isn't no, and that's fine, you know, But
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: it's just a matter of believing. Communicate yourself, say that
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: you love, say what you don't like as well, because
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: in the best communications, it's saying the uncomfortable things. Yeah,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: people don't want to hear uncomfortable things, but it's what
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: makes you grow in a company. When people have to
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: come and say the things that you've been doing wrong
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: and nobody wants to hear that. It's just going to
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: make you grow or it's going to make you bankrupt
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: if you don't hear that, right, So it's just a
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: matter of communication. Live is all about communicating in every
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: aspect of it.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: Well, said Carl, I want to thank you first of
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: all for traveling thirty hours to be here. This is
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: the dedication. I wanted to point it out because you've
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: been talking about dedication. You've been talking about discipline, You've
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: been talking about putting in the work, talked about overnight success.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: For you to travel thirty hours to be here to
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: be on the show, I think that is the longest
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: anyone that's ever traveled to be on the show. So
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: I want to honor you for that. I want to
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: thank you for that, be so grateful for that. And
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: we end every episode of On Purpose with a final five.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: These questions have to be answered in one word to
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: one sentence maximum, So Carl Center, these are your final five,
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: brought to you by State Farm. Question number one, what
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: is the best advice you've ever heard or received?
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: So I think there's a quote I really like and
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: it's a winner is just a loser who tried it
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: one more time, so I don't stop at failure.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: I love that great advice. Question number two, what is
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: the worst advice you've ever heard or received?
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Follow your purpose? Because well, at the end of the day,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: a lot of people just say, like, follow your purpose,
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: but purpose comes with a lot of dedications, So I
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: feel like that's in complete advice. So just say follow
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: your purpose, But no, that is not going to be easy,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: and that's the thing. Just purpose sometimes is.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Not enough absolutely. Question number three, when do you know
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: that a relationship is over?
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: I think a relationship is over when the admition dies.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: You have to admire your partner for the good and
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: the worst. You know. I was just talking two to
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: my friend who's in the studio with me. But it's
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: a matter of like when you get married and they
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: ask you and good or and bad and sick? Doesn't hell?
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: That's the pre saying, like the cute version. But what
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: if I told you? And I heard those the other day,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: It's like, what if they amputate three of your members?
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: What do you still love her? It's like, ooh, it
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: makes you think, what if we bankrupt and we have
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: to start over. I just heard Ian Thumhowlder talking about
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Nikki Reid and that they were eight figures in debt
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: and how they pull through that that's not easy. Financial
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: debt is not easy. But it's just a matter of admiration.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: If you admire your partner and that dies, I think
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: it's over.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: Question number four, how do you define a good friend?
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: I feel like a good friend is always happy for
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: your success. I have a group chat with two of
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: my friends and before I got you one is in Shanghai,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: one is in Buenos Aires, and they all woke up
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: at the same time to see me get ready and
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: my makeup and for me, they were happy for my success.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: So if your friend is happy for you, you have a
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: good friend because they're not jealous of you and they're
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: not afraid of your success.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: And final question, we asked this to every guest who's
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: ever been on the show. If you could create one
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: law that everyone in the world had to follow, what
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: would it be?
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Respect? If you respect each other, that's it. You don't
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: need anything else. Respect means that you have heard one
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: another's opinion. Respect means that you respect their time. I
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: respect so much people's time because it means that you
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: value their time as well as yours. Respect means that
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: you can respect your partner because you respect them. Maybe
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: they don't have a good day, and that doesn't mean
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: you know you've lost it all. Respect means that in
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: your team, you respect them with who they are, with
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: their ideas, with their values. So if there could be
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: one thing, and I think the world will be better
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: off with, is respect each other.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: Carl Tantura, thank you so much everyone who's been listening
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: and watching wherever you are, whether you're at work at home,
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: please tag me and Carl on TikTok and Instagram with
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: your best moments, the parts that you're going to try
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: and apply, the parts that you're going to try and
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: live by, the parts that you're sharing with a friend. Carl.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Thank you so much, thank you so much, so so thankful,
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: truly grateful, and it's wonderful if finding to meet you
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: and wishing you all the best for your boys. Bless
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: success may come your way, and thank you continue to
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: help so many people around the world.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Thank you so much, it's been a pleasure and for
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: everyone's listen, just God, bless you. Keep believing in yourself.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: You are enough and I'll see you next time.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Thank you so much. Thank you everyone for watching. We'll
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: see you soon. If you love this episode, you love
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: my conversation with Airbnb founder Brian Chesky on how to
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: tap into your creative potential and the number one thing
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: people get wrong about success. The best people in your
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: life will be people who see potential in you that
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: you didn't see in yourself.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: And I often wonder
