- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to the Leaf Reflected, Leaf Demanded, and the
- 0:04Leaf Downloaded Wrestling Podcast bc W. This could be a long podcast, so
- 0:13strapping and shut up and don't be a little bit about it. This is
- 0:20a masters. This year's draft will truly change the game. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:57boys and girls, children of all ages, Welcome to another episode of
- 1:00pc W. I am your host, Wayne known as Semi dry Chicken,
- 1:04and I am never alone. Let's bring in the co host Trey. Welcome
- 1:30back, Buddy, you you would it do? Pc W crew. Let's
- 1:34go all right, if you were if you were a general manager, would
- 1:38you be wearing the SmackDown, the Raw or an n X T shirt for
- 1:42this draft? And if you were the general manager. For me, it's
- 1:51probably the Leo in me, but I would probably be wearing a Raw shirt
- 1:55given it that's the flagship, and the Leo in me kind of has that
- 1:59alpha mento reality and be wanted and would always want to be associated with,
- 2:02you know, the top tier shit. So I probably I would probably have
- 2:07a Raw shirt on and that would leave the Fox SmackDown money too. Doyle,
- 2:40welcome back. Yeah, sorry, yeah, it's me it's me.
- 2:44It's a dy l e who can't use the mouse apparently. Hey man,
- 2:49you're sticking me with Fox. Give me ec W man, ec do you
- 2:53know what, I'll allow it because the ec W was also a big part
- 2:57of the draft for such a long time. Um, I thinks like three
- 3:01four years n XT ECW was part of the draft. Um, Fox ain't
- 3:07got no money. They just lost that big lawsuit. Yeah, uh yeah.
- 3:13Tonight it's a little bit of a special episode. We're not gonna be
- 3:15covering any pay per views coming up yet just yet. We're not gonna be
- 3:20covering any ruthless regression paper views. We're gonna be talking about the draft.
- 3:24Um. It's very unique because the draft has been around since two thousand and
- 3:29two, and they kind of started the draft. Uh well, the brands
- 3:34split, the initial brands. What they started when when they were absorbing uh
- 3:39WCWN ECW wrestlers, and then the rosters just got so saturated, just so
- 3:46much, they just had to do the initial brand split. So that means,
- 3:50like you know, if if you had triple a trip Lates would be
- 3:53on one show and one show exclusive ray Masterio would be on one show,
- 3:58one show, exclusive. So if you wanted to see the Undertaker, you
- 4:02wanted to see Batista, Eddie Guerrero. Uh, you want to see guys
- 4:06like that, you got to turn it in a SmackDown, but you want
- 4:09to see Randy Orton, Rick Flair, Trip Late Seawan, Michael Shelton,
- 4:12Benjamin and that. You go to Raw, you know, and then there
- 4:15was ECW uh where you could see Bobby Lashley, see them pun Uh,
- 4:21Big Daddy v Zombie, the Zombie, Ezekiel Jackson. Uh. I'm just
- 4:28like naming some ECW guys on top of my head, the Sandman s Jackson.
- 4:33Yeah, I know I was digging deep there. Uh. But yeah.
- 4:40So so the first half of the two thousand and two draft was uh.
- 4:46They they made it into like a two hour event on TV. It
- 4:50was on their flagship show overall. Uh and then sometimes the second half of
- 4:55be conducted over the internet. Back then, now they kind of poke it
- 5:00up into this, do part of it on Raw and then we'll do it
- 5:02on SmackDown. We've seen in the past where they would do it on Raw
- 5:06SmackDown and then talking smack like you would find out, you know, a
- 5:12day or two later, who else got drafted. I mean, how terrible
- 5:15that's got to be. If you're not even mentioned on the main show,
- 5:18you're not a mean top pick. And you know if you get picked last
- 5:23or something and you find out over Twitter, you know, you you find
- 5:27out over just you're just thrown into a list of other guys who would just
- 5:30got drafted, like the last picks, Like you know what, we don't
- 5:34have time to put them all on TV. We're just gonna throw out a
- 5:39fucking list. You know. There was very unique types of ways they did
- 5:45the draft over the years, if everybody remembers, there was ones where they
- 5:50would have like it looked like a bingo spinning a basket that they would have
- 5:57different balls in there and they would have wrestler names, and that's how they
- 6:00did the draft. And I always I never knew if it was like legit
- 6:04or it was planned out, because they did it pretty well back in the
- 6:09day. Um I think Reese up to recently they had one where like the
- 6:15SmackDown were like they had like all these random people from Fox like in a
- 6:19room picking out like they have all this paperwork laying out on the desk and
- 6:25they're picking out wrestlers and they have the CGI animated, uh Fox robot there.
- 6:30Do you guys remember that terrible draft method they had a few years ago.
- 6:35It's really remember it, but I did put it in my notes.
- 6:39It would have been fun if they had like Kae Usa and Fox executives,
- 6:44right, they kind of were doing that. Who's gonna who's running this draft
- 6:48is my number one question because we don't have general managers. Uh, last
- 6:55time they had Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville right then they just announced the expert
- 7:00who's making them? Like, I feel like there's a lot of missed opportunity
- 7:03to make that storyline somehow. And also beginning back to how they select the
- 7:10picks that there was for a while they were doing matches to see who would
- 7:14get a draft pick. Yeah, like Raw would if a wrestler from Raw
- 7:18would win, then they would get the first draft pick or because I've seen
- 7:21that in the past. Yeah, but the brands are so deluded at this
- 7:26point. Who the hell even knows? And I guess we'll get into it,
- 7:30but who the hell even knows who's on Raw versus who's on SmackDown.
- 7:34You got a lot of people on both, so yeah, I mean I
- 7:39guess this is kind of a reset, which is fine, but it's just
- 7:44so murky. Yeah, I honestly it is to a certain extent, But
- 7:50I mean people who are who do kind of move around one is kind of
- 7:56like depending on how the story is is and they're and what's called for with
- 8:01whatever storyline, And a lot of times some people who do appear on other
- 8:05shows, it's usually like maybe one week they'll they'll show up. The only
- 8:09ones who ever really have like true from what I've seen, that have true
- 8:13fluidity are like the Bloodline because they're you know, the USOS were Raw and
- 8:18SmackDown Tag champion, so obviously they had fluidity, and Roman Reigns being the
- 8:24w W champion had undisputed, he had fluidity, and so obviously anybody else
- 8:28associated with him, and then whoever was feuding with them would obviously get a
- 8:33level of fluidity as well to further the feud. Outside of that, you
- 8:37really only saw occasionally somebody would pop up on another you know, a SmackDown
- 8:43person would pop up on Raw again as needed, And hopefully with this draft,
- 8:50hopefully they do kind of focus in on trying to solidify people being on
- 8:56one brand or one show and staying there because, like you said, with
- 9:00it being so murky and fluid, it kind of mean it makes a draft
- 9:05pointless if you're not going to stick to it. You know, I agree,
- 9:09And I want to see more difference between the shows because right now they
- 9:13both looked the same. Remember back in the day, Uh SmackDown had a
- 9:16completely different set than Raw, completely different look, different color scheme. Now
- 9:22it's hard to tell which is which. Um So I would like them to
- 9:26get back to a just completely different set for one of them, if not
- 9:31both of them. Yeah, you know, it did, like I think,
- 9:35like twenty twenty twenty twenty one, it did get murky. That's when
- 9:39I started get murky, where Vince came out and announced the wild card.
- 9:43You know, we're like that we could have like three or four wrestlers from
- 9:46either show show up on this show, and he was like, I'm a
- 9:50genius, and uh it really it never worked because it felt like every week
- 9:56people were crossing over. Um I did like when wrestlers were exclusive to one
- 10:01show and they kept it that way because when you would see big pay per
- 10:09views like the Royal Rumble Survivor series. Well, first of all, Survivor
- 10:11Series meant a hell of a lot more. There was more. It felt
- 10:16like there was something at stake. There were bragging rights, right, but
- 10:22now it's there's nothing's really at stake. That's really not Ral versus SmackDown anymore
- 10:26when it comes to the Survivor Series. And it was always exciting to see
- 10:31these wrestlers from different brands like collide at the Rumble or certain pay per views,
- 10:37they would cross pass like backstage promos, like there was a time where
- 10:41JBL had his own cabinet and he was the w W champion and then on
- 10:46Rawl you had Triple H with Evolution as the world champion, and like those
- 10:50two guys were kind of running the company at the time with the titles with
- 10:54their run. But they never crossed passed, neither of their heels stables.
- 10:58And I remember like maybe it was the Rumble, maybe a Survivor Series,
- 11:03a pay per view, SummerSlam, maybe they did. Like there was a
- 11:05promo and they did come face to face, and I was like, ooh,
- 11:09teasing something here, teasing something here, Like we never see these two
- 11:11big factions, you know, come face face to heal factions. Uh.
- 11:16I would just get excited seeing people from different brands like teasing matches. Uh,
- 11:24you know, that's that's Unfortunately, that's how we got brock Lessen and
- 11:28Goldberg the first initial match. They were separated for so long, and you
- 11:33know, as a I don't know, I was two thousand and four,
- 11:35I'm probably like seventeen sixteen, seventeen, So I got excited of the idea
- 11:39at the time of somebody like brock Lessner and Goldberg versing each other because I'm
- 11:45like, these two guys are monsters and they're just never crossed. Pass.
- 11:50We all did. We all did at the time at the time. Yeah,
- 11:56four, You never saw SmackDown and Raw people with each other. Yeah,
- 12:00very rarely. You know, they even had different pay per views,
- 12:03you know what I mean, Like, are we gonna go back to I
- 12:07liked when they did put both brands together just for the pay per views for
- 12:16a while. It was nice having the like SmackDown would have their own pay
- 12:18per view, but then so would Raw. It would give like wrestlers time
- 12:22off, I guess it would. It would let stories build a little bit
- 12:26longer in depth with some of these storylines. But yeah, that the whole
- 12:31idea. How they're going to do it. Yeah, that was the original
- 12:33intent when they did try to split the pay per views with one being a
- 12:37raw pay per view the other one being a SmackDown, and then they would
- 12:39only come together for at the time, I believe was the Big Four,
- 12:43the Rumble, WrestleMania, Summer Slamming Survivor series were the only times that they
- 12:46came together, And yeah, that was the intent. Original intent back then.
- 12:50It was like, we can have longer stories, more long form storytelling,
- 12:54because you know, stuff would only culminate every other month and things could
- 12:58develop more. But ultimately it never really panned out as well as they thought
- 13:03because it left whatever pay per view was, whatever brand was off that month
- 13:11or didn't have their pay per view, we're kind of just left milling about
- 13:16trying to, yeah, draw out longer storylines, but the people's focus would
- 13:22just shift to whichever brand had the pay per view that month and the other
- 13:26one whenever that week was it was like, well, you know, the
- 13:30big pay per views happening over here, so y'all just kind of dragging your
- 13:33feet. So it was one of those concepts that sounded good on paper,
- 13:39but the execution behind it never really quite lived up to it. So yeah,
- 13:43I don't know how. I don't know if I'm necessarily in favor of
- 13:46them going back to split branded pay per views. I don't. I don't
- 13:50think they can really execute that as well. I do agree that roster I
- 13:54do want rosters kind of staying separate, like I said before, that and
- 13:58remaining more isolated, having less crossover. H good. So one of the
- 14:05things you really lose is and one of the great things about like the Bloodline
- 14:09storyline in particular, is to carry over from Raw to SmackDown to Raw,
- 14:13you know what I mean, Like something happens, Oh, I now I
- 14:16gotta watch SmackDown. Let's see what happen. But now I gotta watch Raw
- 14:18to see. Whereas when you do this kind of brand split in you don't
- 14:24you kind of lose that. I mean, you know, the hard cares
- 14:26are gonna watch it both shows regardless, right, But you know, I
- 14:31feel like you lose some continuity. But you're not constantly carrying things over and
- 14:37other things. You know, there's kind of I mean, it is,
- 14:41it's pluses and minuses, yeah, right, and yeah, and with you
- 14:43can't have that one true dominant faction like a bloodline if you keep everything truly
- 14:50separate, Like Evolution back in the day was dominant, but they dominated raw
- 14:54only they had no you know, no impact on SmackDown. Whereas blood Line
- 15:01they are at the top of the entire company. They dominate everything. You
- 15:05know, if you keep them completely separate with zero crossover, you know,
- 15:09there's no room for a faction like the blood lines ever developed. So that
- 15:13is one benefit to having some crossover, but again it needs to be limited
- 15:20only to those who are at the top. In my opinion, it's funny
- 15:22you mentioned a dominant faction because they're kind of the genesis of this idea goes
- 15:30back to WCW. They were going to do this with the nWo is going
- 15:33to have their own show, which would have been Nitro, and then what
- 15:37was that what was their second tund was gonna be the WWWCW show. I
- 15:41think there was an episode of Nitro where like the nWo took over and like
- 15:46it was black and white, and like, I think that was like the
- 15:48genesis of it. But then obviously never pulled the trigger. M Yeah.
- 15:54And also, um, a big concern going into this draft is titles.
- 16:02Um. We you know, back in two thousand and four or five,
- 16:10maybe maybe maybe it was no, maybe it's two. When they when SmackDown
- 16:17had brock Lessner exclusively and he was the undispeeded champion, that left role without
- 16:22a title. That's when they introduced the World Heavyweight Title and handed it to
- 16:26triple As because he was the number one contender. Now Roman Reigns has both
- 16:30of those titles, so a lot is up in the air, like what
- 16:34are they going to do with against split the titles. There's been a lot
- 16:37of rumors going around about new titles coming out. Um, where are the
- 16:44tag team champions going to go? Now that they have both titles. I
- 16:47mean, we could see Kevin Owens and Sam maysann on both shows that that
- 16:52would be great, But you know, after a while, you're gonna you're
- 16:55gonna have to take a set of those titles off of these guys. You
- 16:59know, Intercontinental title and United States Title always separated. It was rare if
- 17:04they were on the same show. Was for a very short time, but
- 17:07they were always separated. And same with the women's and you know, now
- 17:11we got the women's tag team. Don't know what we're gonna do about that
- 17:14either, Well, you got Ko's a raw talent, Sammy's SmackDown talent,
- 17:19you got the the SmackDown Women's Champion. Re Ripley is a raw talent,
- 17:26So there is definitely some m hm yeah, yeah, I mean, I
- 17:30think and see when it comes to that draft. That's why some of these
- 17:36things are kind of inevitable. Like you can almost as far as like you
- 17:41know, trying to predict what's gonna happen, you can almost guarantee rear Ripley's
- 17:45going to get drafted to SmackDown because she's the SmackDown Woman's Championship, and it
- 17:49doesn't have doesn't make any sense to have her as a raw talent and being
- 17:56the SmackDown Woman's Champion, And it doesn't make much sense to have her floating
- 18:00either just to try to keep her, you know, associated with the Judgment
- 18:03Day. Doesn't make sense to have Judgment Day jumping between both brands just because
- 18:08one member in it is a you know, it's a smack it's the SmackDown
- 18:12Woman's Champion, so that takes away some of them. And he never see
- 18:18Bianca on SmackDown, right because she's the Raw champion and as such, she
- 18:23remains there, so it takes some of the mystique out of some of this
- 18:26stuff. Like there are some things that are pretty obvious that we know we're
- 18:30gonna happen like that. But as far as other things, like personally,
- 18:36I'm still in favor of having a single champion at the top. I like
- 18:44it said, Like we know, back in the day they had the split
- 18:45champions with the World Headweight Champion on Raw, w W Champion on SmackDown.
- 18:49I kind of preferred more as just one champion and that person has the right
- 18:56to float back and forth to you know, to to feud with whoever at
- 19:00any time. That way, the entire company still has one thing to push
- 19:04for. Because as the thing about the about back in the day when they
- 19:11did have the two titles split, they kind of struggled sometimes to keep both
- 19:18titles being looked at as equal as equally you know important. There were sometimes
- 19:25where the World Heavyweight Championship was very much being treated as the bigger title because
- 19:30it was on Raw and the ww Championship was treated as a lesser title and
- 19:36vice versa. At times, and even even recently with before they unified them
- 19:41under Roman reigns, there were sometimes where the WW Championship was more important than
- 19:45the Universal Championship, or sometimes the Universal Championship was being treated as the bigger
- 19:49title than the WWE Championship, just depending on who held which belt at the
- 19:55time, and that part I don't like, but I think it's better if
- 19:59you just have a single champion. This is the person who's at the top,
- 20:03and everybody's gunning for that person, and you know, whoever they may
- 20:07be, whoever whatever brand, the person that they're feuding with happens to be
- 20:11on them at the moment, that can be the brand that they focus on
- 20:17and going back and forth the same And I think the same thing for this
- 20:19for the tag team titles. Honestly, I think I'm good with just having
- 20:22a single tag team championship, again defended on both brands, rather than having
- 20:26a separate Raw and SmackDown. Yeah. I mean, the whole point of
- 20:30the World's Champions that they're the best, right yeah, right off the bat,
- 20:34two world champions doesn't make it help of a lot of sense. Now
- 20:38you want to look at boxing, of course they have multiple championships and weight
- 20:42classes or whatever. But part of the reason because boxing is such a fucking
- 20:48joke wrapped in a mess, you know, And so I think like doing
- 20:51that it is now anyone like that back in the day, surely, But
- 20:56and it's just that boxing doesn't have a single governing body. It's it's all
- 21:00it makes box you look stupid when you when you have three different guys with
- 21:03the middleweight champion, you know what I mean? Like, um, And
- 21:07so I think, yeah, I definitely agree with you Dre that, um,
- 21:11we should we should have one title if it could float or whatever,
- 21:15and that would even continue to elevate the importance of um, the IC and
- 21:21US belts. Right now, let's not forget like it has been times in
- 21:25the past that two champions have switched brands. Now they've done it in two
- 21:30thousand and twenty one where they had Becky and Charlotte, both champions switched brands,
- 21:37but they traded titles. And we've also seen it with the tag titles
- 21:41done as well. I think it was the Street Prophets and the USOS maybe
- 21:45I think had to swap titles at one point. I mean that was easy,
- 21:51you know, it's common sense to swaps. Yeah. Um, but
- 21:56we're also a lot of people, you know, may forget that tag teams
- 22:00and stables are not off limits. We've seen them draft entire stables, entire
- 22:06tag teams, or break them up. For me, I remember the biggest
- 22:10breakup for a tag team that was shocking was the Dudley Boys. When the
- 22:15Dudley Boys were separated, I was like, holy shit, Like I don't
- 22:19think I've never seen these guys do single runs before. The Hardies were broken
- 22:25up before. We've seen recently that the still together, but on different shows.
- 22:30The New Day was broken up, Miss and Morrison were separated. Just
- 22:37tag teams in general. But it's also a good thing because it could raise
- 22:42the the you know, the stock value of that one of those tag team
- 22:48players. You know, somebody out of that is going to elevate. Maybe
- 22:52not both, but it does give a chance for somebody to elevate. And
- 22:56like you, I have fears that it could happen to the street Profits.
- 23:00You know, there's always rumors. People always like, oh, they should
- 23:03split up the street Profits. They should, they should do it when they
- 23:06do the trade. That's probably the most fair way to do it, so
- 23:08that nobody turns on each other. Um. But you know, like I
- 23:15just thought it was weird, like with the New Day, like why not
- 23:18take the whole team instead, It's like, no, we just want Koffee
- 23:21and Xavier Woods, And I was just like, that's weird. Why would
- 23:25you not want all three, especially considering you could pick the three of them
- 23:29as one draft pick um, which I always thought that was weird too,
- 23:34that that teams like that would be one whole pick, that they wouldn't be
- 23:38individuals. I always thought it was that way. Yeah, I know,
- 23:45just wrestling just sometimes just doesn't make fucking sense exactly pro wrestling logic. They're
- 23:52just gonna do whatever they're going to exactly fake the choices and then you know,
- 24:02trust us, we got a plan for We're going somewhere with it.
- 24:06Don't think about it too hard. So you know what, before like we
- 24:11get into this because it might be brought up some of these that I'm gonna
- 24:15I'm gonna bring up here, but I got three good trivia questions for you
- 24:22guys, and you know what, you guys can do them together, because
- 24:25because I know one of these is pretty might might take both of you guys,
- 24:30So all right. In two thousand and four, Triple H was drafted
- 24:37to SmackDown, but then traded back to Raw for which four superstars he was
- 24:47traded for? Four superstars? Can you guys guess which four superstars he was
- 24:51traded for? I remember that, but I have no clue. I know
- 24:57that's the idea. I'll say, like, saying four kind of makes you
- 25:04think it was like a faction click that was, but because then it would
- 25:11make any sense for them from the trade just for four randos. I can't
- 25:15think of any four person faction and there was going in two thousand and four.
- 25:22I'll give you a hit. One of them's a tag team and the
- 25:25other two were not a tag team at the time, but they were a
- 25:30tag team at some point, you guys give up? Yeah, I have
- 25:38no idea, Yeah, okay, okay. So Triple HS was traded back
- 25:45within like less than a week. It didn't even last very long because he
- 25:48didn't even show up on SmackDown. He was traded back to Raw for Rob
- 25:53Van, Damn Booker T and the Dudley Boys, four people. I think
- 26:02it was just to show like how important that they believe Triple H was to
- 26:08that brand, and not splitting up Evolution because I think he was part of
- 26:12Evolution still at the time. Uh, we got a Rob band damn mentioned
- 26:18it on four twenty, so hey, no, right, yeah, happy
- 26:22four twenty. I just read some triple H ego stroke. I know,
- 26:26right right, he's worth four superstars. This guy maybe the best tag team
- 26:33of all time. Right, I thought it was weird be four people,
- 26:37But you guys might get this one. In two thousand and two, when
- 26:44we got the very first draft, who was the very first wrestler to get
- 26:48drafted? Stone Cole, Steve Auston to Raw Stole Steve Auston was number Actually,
- 27:02I don't even think it was number two even it was it The Rock
- 27:04to SmackDown. It was the Rock. I think number two was the Undertaker.
- 27:14Okay, I knew it was one of those two because I knew I
- 27:15remember the Rock being like one of the first. I thought it was Stone
- 27:19Cold to Raw was one and Rock was two. But okay, the Rocks
- 27:22was number one, Okay, Stone Cole Steve Auston was immune to the draft.
- 27:27He was one of the very few superstars who were immune completely to the
- 27:33draft. And I guess I can see why he's like, I ain't gonna
- 27:37take him partner of stupid ass draft. I'm gonna be on both shows.
- 27:40You know I make you money. Well he didn't know. He pretty much
- 27:44remained on Raw. Yeah, yeah, pretty much. Yeah. And I
- 27:48knew the Rock got drafted to SmackDown. I knew that one was one because
- 27:52you know, that was his you know, he basically branded that, you
- 27:55know, came up with the brand SmackDown, but basically then shows they golfed
- 28:00him in his you know catchphrase. So I remember that one. Now show
- 28:06one more, guys, I'll give you the year to help out. In
- 28:11two thousand and eleven, which Superstar was drafted from Raw to SmackDown and then
- 28:17back to Raw within the same night. Drops that sounds like what did you
- 28:23say? That sounds like some John Cena shit, John Sea. Yeah,
- 28:30yeah, to be drafted twice, and I thought, what a waste of
- 28:36a draft to draft the same person twice. It was a shock because I
- 28:41was like excited, Oh, he's going back to SmackDown and then you know,
- 28:48right back to Raw the same night, not not even less than what
- 28:51a few hours and then the same night. But I thought those were pretty
- 28:56good. Uh, he was doing something with that serve. Yeah, let's
- 29:06run it back. Uh yeah, now, and you know, for a
- 29:10while in the following years, instead of calling it the draft, they would
- 29:15call it the Superstar shake Up. Uh yeah, I don't know. I
- 29:21didn't like the Superstar shake up. I always like when they just called it
- 29:25the draft. Uh you know what, I think, I'm gonna take this
- 29:30moment and we're gonna hand it off the Doyle because I think he has some
- 29:34facts for us. Doyle, take it away. What do you what do
- 29:38you got? As you may have noticed, the WWE Draft this year is
- 29:45taking place alongside the NFL Draft, um, which I think is a ludicrous
- 29:51decision for I guess the thinking of the thinking being that, uh, people
- 29:56will have drafts on the mind. I don't know, I don't know why
- 30:00they wouldn't have drafts on the mind a week later. But like the NFL
- 30:04draft does a rating bonanza, right like I kind of expect SmackDown. It's
- 30:10going to get crushed if you're a person that looks at the ratings. But
- 30:15just we're talking NFL Draft and WWE Draft at the same time, I figure
- 30:19a lot of people are going to be compiling their lists of hoot, you
- 30:22know, number one picks you know from various years or whatever. But inspired
- 30:29by the NFL, I wanted to have a look at They do a thing
- 30:30called mister Irrelevant, which is the last person selected in the draft every year.
- 30:37I think mister Irrelevant gets a parade at Disney World, if I'm not
- 30:41mistaken. It's kind of a fun little thing the NFL does. So I
- 30:45thought it might be fun to go look at some of who some of the
- 30:48mister or miss irrelevance have been over the years with the EWE draft. So
- 30:56the very first inaugural Mister Irrelevant in two thousand and two going to SmackDown because
- 31:03they weren't anywhere. This is the first time we're splitting them up. Is
- 31:06Perry Saturn if you remember Perry sattur In, one of the radicals, along
- 31:11with Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero and that guy. We don't talk about it
- 31:17anymore. There isn't another draft AGA until two thousand and four, two years
- 31:22and kind of a strange move. The last pick of that draft is the
- 31:26general manager of SmackDown, Paul Hamon, going to Row to become the GM
- 31:32of Raw. Kind of a kind of a swerve, you know there nobody
- 31:37saw common at the time. Follow up a year later and five the first
- 31:45time we see a world's heavyweight champion move. Batistay goes from raw to SmackDown.
- 31:49He would not be the last heavyweight champion to move in the draft.
- 31:53However, in two thousand and six we have ww ec W has a supplemental
- 32:00draft. Uh so they eats just get RVD goes from ECW. I'm sorry,
- 32:06RVD goes from Roddy UCW and current angle goes to SmackDown. I don't
- 32:09know if you want to count that one or not. You said two thousand
- 32:15and five Batista was drafted. How could you be the world champion to be
- 32:20drafted last? Right, It's not like, um, it's not like picking
- 32:29a team at recess. I mean, everybody's gonna be in there. I
- 32:31guess. I don't know if being being drafted last has quite the stigma of
- 32:38of being a gym class. Where were we? Uh? Oh so seven
- 32:46h seven they start doing the wacky supplemental drafts after the thing, right,
- 32:51Sometimes they're on on the internet, as you said before. Sometimes they do.
- 32:55Uh, it will eventually be on the network. But this is the
- 33:00first year we have that. So in the regular draft, the last pick
- 33:04was mister Kennedy. Kennedy SmackDown to raw. UH, and the last pick
- 33:14in the supplemental draft was layla Um going from SmackDown to w W E c
- 33:20w H. Now, as we discussed two thousand and eight, UH last
- 33:24pick was the w w E champion at the time, Triple H going from
- 33:29raw to SmackDown, but the supplemental pick that so the last pick that year
- 33:35was Kofi Kingston back when he was a Jamaican UH going from e c W
- 33:40R ww E c W to raw. Two thousand and nine we got brand
- 33:47new Hall of Fame or Ray Mysterio going from raw to SmackDown, but the
- 33:52supplemental draft the last pick was Bribella going from SmackDown to raw. Two thousand
- 33:58and ten, we see Jericho as last pick in the draft going from SmackDown
- 34:00to raw, but the supplemental draft pick Zach Ryder. No. I couldn't
- 34:06really such that where he was before that, but he got drafted too raw.
- 34:10UM twenty twelve, we got Sena the John Cena as the last pick
- 34:16going from SmackDown to raw, and the supplemental is Missus cm Punk herself a
- 34:21j Lee who went it was a call up going from Florida Championship Wrestling fc
- 34:27W, which eventually is what's going to become NXT. She went to SmackDown.
- 34:32In twenty sixteen, the Celtic Warrior, one of my favorite, Shamus
- 34:37goes to Raw. Um and now we start getting the draft center live on
- 34:42the network. Weird stuff. Uh And in that one we had Carmelo going
- 34:46is called up from NXT to SmackDown. Twenty seventeen, we started with the
- 34:52Superstar shake up. The New Day goes to Raw, goes from Raw to
- 34:57SmackDown. There is no supplemental draft that year. The New Day wins the
- 35:00uh mister irrelevance for that year. Twenty eighteen we got Andrade and Selena Vega
- 35:07has call ups from NXT, going to SmackDown again, no supplemental draft.
- 35:12Twenty nineteen, we're almost there because they do two drafts they want, which
- 35:21is bizarre. And the sing brothers of the final pick uh Sunil and Samar
- 35:25they were um uh shit, I can't think of dinner Mahaal's henchman. Uh.
- 35:32They went from SmackDown to two oh five live. Uh so, but
- 35:38then later that year they do another uh little they do another terrible you got
- 35:45I'm sorry I was saying, that's a terrible draft. You get drafted from
- 35:49SmackDown to two h five lives. That really encounters a draft. That's more
- 35:52like being sent down to the minor leagues. Yes, that was the last
- 35:59year of the Superstars shakeup. They go back to calling it the draft again
- 36:04when they do it in twenty nineteen, and Live Morgan goes from Raw to
- 36:07SmackDown and the supplemental draft. Uh. Sarah Logan, who was now known
- 36:13as Valhalla went from Raw to Raw. I don't really understand that, but
- 36:19she was shortly shortly thereafter was given her wished wished what wished luck in her
- 36:25future endeavors. Uh. So it wasn't a mood point. Uh. Twenty
- 36:30twenty we got a curat Zawa going from Raw to Raw and in the supplemental
- 36:36draft, this is the only name on this list. Unbelievably that I was
- 36:39just like, who and the fuck is this? Are turo Ruaz? Does
- 36:44anyone remember this guy went from NXC to Raw and then got released almost immediately.
- 36:50Um. Then last year and I'm sorry, the last year there's been
- 36:57a drafts twenty twenty one, we had Sammy going from SmackDown back to SmackDown
- 37:02and then the supplemental draft, Veer went from raw to raw and he hasn't
- 37:07been seen or heard from since, but he's coming any week now. Yeah
- 37:13right, oh yeah. Hey. You know what's funny when you go through
- 37:23that list, you you you mentioned names like Batista as the world champion.
- 37:29You mentioned guys like John Cena, a Shamus. You know, it's crazy
- 37:34to think that these were the last picks. But then you got like the
- 37:37Sing Brothers, you know what I mean, Like, it's crazy, like
- 37:40those are those those wrestlers are on the same list as but so so you
- 37:45never know, and you're right, it's not like you're in gym class and
- 37:49you're picking people for your basketball team or dodgeball team, like you're picking the
- 37:53tallest, the strongest, the fastest person. Uh, it's just not how
- 37:58it goes. But even when you're I don't know, like there's a GM
- 38:04mode in wrestling games and when you get to pick your wrestlers and stuff like,
- 38:08you immediately go for for for those types of wrestlers. But it's crazy
- 38:14to think that those guys made it last picks and pert storyline, if you
- 38:19go back and watch it did make sense. Um, and because you know
- 38:24in two thousand and five when some of that stuff doesn't make a lot of
- 38:28sense. Yeah, yeah, some of it doesn't. But like in two
- 38:31thousand and five, when John Cena won his first w WI title, Uh,
- 38:35it was a big deal him going to raw and because he was always
- 38:39on SmackDown. And then same with Batista, he won his first world title
- 38:44that year. So it was a big deal him breaking out of that shadow
- 38:47from Evolution and going and doing his own thing on on SmackDown. You know,
- 38:52JBL's title raging is over. He thinks now that John Cena is gone,
- 38:58they have two titles, like, Okay, he's going to be crowned
- 39:00the new champion, you know. But no, uh, Teddy Long announces
- 39:06that you're not going to be the champion player. Um, it's John Cen,
- 39:09it's Batissa. You know. So this year, if I were to
- 39:15take a guess, and a really good guess, who would be the last
- 39:21pick this year? I honestly think it's gonna be Baron Corbyn. Well,
- 39:27you know, I was just about to say, I think there's a there's
- 39:30some for the right character, there's some character work that can be done in
- 39:34there by being the last pick, right, Like, couldn't somebody put a
- 39:38big chip on their shoulder and be like I'm gonna prove that, you know,
- 39:43I think the right character could do a lot with that. And actually
- 39:46Corbyn's not a bad pick for that. Uh. He was great when he
- 39:51was like when he was like homeless, remember, and like, oh that
- 39:55was fucking great. That was the best Corbyan we've had, all the Corbyns
- 40:00we've had, I do recall there was one where uh, Heath Slater didn't
- 40:07get drafted at all, and he was just like sitting in a room by
- 40:09himself, like nobody drafted me, you know, like they forgot about him.
- 40:15Uh but yeah, like the way per storyline, we're baron Corbyn's like
- 40:21he's just he's terrible. He sucks, He's losing matches. Even this week
- 40:24on Rawl, curats Zawa was telling him you suck and nobody's gonna draft you,
- 40:30so I really sucks. Yeah yeah, and you got that telling you
- 40:36you know that you suck and you're gonna be drafted last and nobody wants you,
- 40:39which like you're right, though it might play in his favor where he
- 40:43sucks so bad that he becomes good like, I don't know, but they
- 40:49could make it work. Yeah, no, not at all. Yeah,
- 40:54there's there's definitely potential there with a concept of oh, I was the last
- 40:59one draft rafted if they but I think in order to truly make it work,
- 41:05they would have to reformat the how they do the draft fundamentally, because
- 41:09the way it is now is pretty much just your being a draft just basically
- 41:15means you're just switching from one brand to the other, whereas but the entire
- 41:19roster for the most part, remains intact outside of a select few changes.
- 41:23I think if they completely shook it up and just said both rosters on both
- 41:30shows are completely white, clean, and we're drafting all new rosters. Yeah,
- 41:37yeah, we're drafting completely new rosters from the ground up, almost like
- 41:42you were almost like you were building like expansion teams or something of that nature,
- 41:45rather than just saying like, Okay, these guys already exist and we'll
- 41:51move you, move you move you. It's like nope, everybody goes back
- 41:53to zero. And then you really say we're actually doing it. Then that
- 41:58person who is the last one selected, oh, then then that person will
- 42:05legitimately have a gripe. If you had to like you know work, you
- 42:08know we're having here's a new like Adam Pierce, you are you know the
- 42:13new raw GM. Here's our new SmackDown GM. Here's the entire you know,
- 42:20two hundred person roster or whoever many people they currently have under contract.
- 42:23Here it is right now, get started, and he's your draft. That
- 42:30person who wounded up being last under those circumstances, that would be a true
- 42:36mister irrelevant and a true person that you could actually really lean in on a
- 42:40storyline like that as a stands now, if you're the last person drafted,
- 42:47sure you could try. You could try to make that storyline work. I
- 42:54just I'm not one hundred sold on the fact that people would buy. But
- 43:00it is possible, it is probably it is an idea that they could play
- 43:04with or they could and that is at least worth trying. All right,
- 43:09all right, well here's what we're gonna do. We got a list.
- 43:15Each of us have a list of wrestlers we want to see draft where we
- 43:19think we would like to see them drafted. Now, it is kind of
- 43:23confusing because these people have just been continuously swapping shows. It feels like there
- 43:31have been some wrestlers like we've discussed before, like Bianca bel Air and you
- 43:37know, and like maybe like Gunther or you know, just people who've just
- 43:43been staying on that brand and haven't really crossed over. But then you got
- 43:47people who are you know, on both shows every week. So I'm gonna
- 43:54go through my list and if we have the same ones, let's let's talk
- 44:00about it. Let's let's cross them off and discuss them. So let me
- 44:06let me go off rattle off my first, uh, first one here.
- 44:24Okay, it's the most obvious one, and I think we all agree.
- 44:29Let's see Bianca bell Air go to SmackDown. I feel like she's run her
- 44:36course through everybody on the raw roster. She's dominated everybody. I feel like
- 44:42she needs some fresh meat, per per se. Uh. Yeah, Let's
- 44:49let's see what she can do on on SmackDown. Uh. She's definitely taking
- 44:54the title with her. Uh. And that's the case. You know,
- 44:58they're they're going to put Ria on on raw then, but when they do
- 45:06put technically yeah, I know. See that's what I mean. That's where
- 45:12it gets fucking confusing, because it feels like she's already on rall. But
- 45:15if you look up it like, yeah, yeah. See, that's what
- 45:21I mean. Like, there's a picture of her with the SmackDown Women's title
- 45:23and the Raw logo right next to is there? What I mean? Like,
- 45:28shit like that is what is what makes this shit confusing for us as
- 45:32fans. So its like how much of an impact does that for us?
- 45:37When they're like, oh, Ria's drafted to Raw, We're like, yeah,
- 45:42okay, as well as she shit, that's where she's been, Like
- 45:47they might, I don't know, but uh, you know, I definitely
- 45:52think Bianca bell Air should go to SmackDown at the end of the day.
- 45:57Um, does anybody else have beyond on their list for the draft? No?
- 46:01I do know. All right, So let me get this. So
- 46:06you're proposing that Bianca goes to SmackDown, Yes, as champion, as champion
- 46:12and what and her and Ria just swapped titles. So Bianca becomes the SmackDown
- 46:15Woman's Champion and Ria becomes the Raw Woman's Champion. They've done it in the
- 46:20past, so I wouldn't be surprised if they do it again. Okay,
- 46:27but uh, number two I have I want to see Bobby Lashley go to
- 46:36SmackDown. Bobby Lashley is another one where I feel like he's running out of
- 46:40people to feud with, even though right now he's in a feud with somebody
- 46:46fresh from NXT, Bronson Reid, but uncle Bobby. I don't know how
- 46:55which longer this fuse is gonna last. Honestly, I'm not as in or
- 47:00sit in that feud. Bronson Reid seems to be get super fucking winded after
- 47:05like five minutes of wrestling with wrestling round with Bobby Lashly, so I don't
- 47:08expect a brilliant match out of that, but I would like to see,
- 47:13you know, Bobby Lashly go to SmackDown. Did anybody have Bobby Lashly on
- 47:19their LISTE? I did not. I like this though. I kind of
- 47:24liked this that we have different draft picks mean too. I was thinking,
- 47:28like, oh my god, everyone's gonna have the same thing exactly, and
- 47:30that's what my favorite was too. Now, when it comes to tag teams
- 47:35breaking up, you know, we just we've seen in the past tag teams
- 47:38break up and go their separate ways or as a whole. This one I
- 47:43see as a tag team breaking up. It's not a huge tag team,
- 47:47you know, with multiple championship rains. It's a it's a tag team.
- 47:51We've seen throughout the weeks the storyline kind of on the edge here of the
- 47:57team breaking up, and that would be the Alpha Academy. That would be
- 48:01Otiseles. And I want to see Chad Gabel go to SmackDown and do his
- 48:09thing. I want to see Chad Gable as a singles wrestler again. Now.
- 48:15I know when you think of Chad Gable as a single wrestler, people
- 48:19automatically go back to Shorty g you know, people go back to you know,
- 48:23you think about his terrible gimmicks he's had but before where he's at now,
- 48:30and I think if he just keeps his momentum up. I mean,
- 48:34if anybody has been watching any of Chad Gables matches recently, I mean he's
- 48:37he's especially after WrestleMania. I mean, the guy can go and he's quite
- 48:45good, good on the mic, he has the crowd behind him, he
- 48:47has a catchphrase, he has shirts now, he has his own merchandise taller.
- 48:53Yeah, he would be in the in the world title picture. Yeah,
- 49:00you know what, You're probably right. I could see him as a
- 49:02mid card title holder, um deaf. I don't see him being a you
- 49:07know, I don't see him going against Roman Rains anytime soon. But did
- 49:12anybody have Chad Cable on their list? I don't want the Academy to go
- 49:19anywhere. I love you had Chad Gable going to SmackDown? Yeah, and
- 49:22and notice saying okay, yeah, nope. I did not have either one
- 49:25of those. All right, but I like it. I like it now.
- 49:30My fourth pick, this one is probably going to be as a whole,
- 49:35and that would be Imperium going to Raw. Uh, let's see Gunther
- 49:40go to Raw. And you know, since he's been intercontinal champion again,
- 49:45he's just gone through that roster, just everybody who's been in his path,
- 49:50and we've seen just banger matches with him, especially the one at WrestleMania,
- 49:55the feud with him and Drew and Shamus. We do know. Tomorrow actually
- 50:01he has an Intercontinental match with Xavier Woods, which unfortunately I don't see Xavier
- 50:07Woods walking out with the title. I expect a good match, but I
- 50:10expect also Xavier Woods to get his chest, you know, chop the fuck
- 50:15tomorrow. Um So I think uh, putting Gunther on Raw. And it
- 50:22does that mean that we would have to put Austin theory the United States Champion
- 50:29on SmackDown. Probably you don't pick, you tell us what the solution is.
- 50:34Well, that's probably going to be the solution because they don't like to
- 50:38put two secondary titles on one brand. Um, so I could see them
- 50:43swapping them too, basically swapping the people, not the titles, just the
- 50:47guys. Let's let's take the titles with him. Let's put the United States
- 50:52title on SmackDown. Austin theory can get fresh matches, fresh feuds, and
- 50:58Santan mcgunther gunter these fresh feuds because I feel like he's in this rut with
- 51:04this love triangle with with he was with Shamous and True for a long time.
- 51:08But everybody who's been put in front of that man, he's literally chopped
- 51:12them the fuck down. And for my last pick, Oh so anybody have
- 51:20Gunter, I'm sorry. My My one and two was was theory to SmackDown
- 51:24and gun through the raw. Uh. But basically for the same reason you
- 51:29said. I mean, I feel like they both need to change the scenery,
- 51:32but neither of them need to lose their title. I don't think for
- 51:36theory. I mean, look at he could be looking to match ups against
- 51:39Knackamara, Ricochet, even him and Stroman might be fun the new day if
- 51:45they're still standing uh Shamous, you know, and you know gun Thor,
- 51:52you could have matches with aj lastly, you know Riddle, And I think
- 51:57I still think they're gonna do gun th Bra at some point. Um,
- 52:02yeah, just a lot of new matchups. They're both kind of tread and
- 52:06water where they are. But I don't I don't want to take the Tunnel
- 52:09title off a Gunther or Theory at this point. Yeah, I think I
- 52:15think, Yeah, you don't want to. You don't want two secondary titles
- 52:17on one show. It's just kind of it's almost a trade. M Yeah,
- 52:22I'm in agreement with you. I did. I didn't. It was
- 52:27not one of my picks. It's not one of my five picks, but
- 52:30it was when I strongly considered, and I do like the prospect of switching
- 52:34those two for again all the reasons that you said. They're both pretty stagnant
- 52:38where they are. Especially Theory he's been very stagnant now, especially since it,
- 52:45uh you know, winning against John Cena at Wressell Meat that's done virtually
- 52:49nothing for him. Gunther is pretty much dominating SmackDown as it stands right now,
- 52:54and they both need something. Uh. They both need fresh feuds,
- 53:01fresh people to wrestle with, fresh people to go up against. I think
- 53:05Austin Theory would be well served on SmackDown. He could he could truly shine
- 53:09on that brand, whereas the faces on that brand aren't as big and don't
- 53:15outshine him so much. So he can really use that beyond SmackDown and use
- 53:22that show to elevate himself and you know, become the faith, become a
- 53:28more high profile face on the SmackDown brand than he is currently on Raw and
- 53:35Gunter. Again, he's ready to take that step to the next level and
- 53:37eventually be in the royal title scene, so he will benefit greatly from having
- 53:45the greater exposure on the flagship show of Raw. Right, I agree.
- 53:51I agree with both of those, and I actually would like to see those
- 53:53Even though it wasn't one of the five picks I made, I'm in full
- 53:55agreement with those two. Now my last pick is probably controversial. Now,
- 54:02I bet you guys probably won't agree with me in this, and I don't
- 54:07think they're going to do it, but I would like to see it.
- 54:09Now there is a rumor that they have no plans on putting anybody on the
- 54:15main roster back down to NXT, which to me, in the past,
- 54:19I never had issues with it. I never had issues seeing guys go back
- 54:22down to NXT, even women, because I felt like it helped elevate some
- 54:27people on that roster and sometimes that wrestler who went down back to NXT needed
- 54:35the work, whether it's MIC work or in ring skills, they needed it.
- 54:39Now with the idea of Ria Ripley going to Raw Right and maybe Judgment
- 54:49Day, maybe this is the point where they start to part ways during the
- 54:53draft. This is the stable, the big stable that gets broken up.
- 54:58And because I'm thinking RHA's at the point where she's bigger than the stable itself.
- 55:02You know. Um, the feud with Ray and Dominic, it's it's
- 55:07WrestleMania is done. I don't need to see it stretched out any further.
- 55:13But they're going to beat it with a dead horse. I honestly think Dominic
- 55:17needs to go back, or not back, go to NXT. Uh.
- 55:23I think he needs more work on the mic. Uh. You know,
- 55:28time and time again, if anybody else catches it, dom messes up,
- 55:34he flubs and you know what, I got something for you guys here.
- 55:37Uh. That kind of cements my idea of why he needs some mic skills,
- 55:45you know, to work on these mic skills down a n XT,
- 55:52out of my out of your mouth. The man is given a microphone and
- 55:58he just sometimes by himself, he just can't make it work. Now,
- 56:00I get it. The argument is he has a lot of heat right now.
- 56:06But is it go away heat or is it like we hate him as
- 56:09a as this guy this heel we hate him. I mean sometimes to me
- 56:15it was just go away heat, like, dude, like you're so bad
- 56:19you keep flubbing your lines and and you know he started there, but I
- 56:24think it's genuine at this point because how much longer is Ray gonna? I
- 56:30feel like the only reason why he's on the main roster is because of his
- 56:35dad, and I feel like it's the only reason I feel like it was
- 56:38also like a Ray was like, I'm not gonna come back unless I have
- 56:44Dominic with me on the main roster under my wing. You know That's how
- 56:47I took it as because he's he's green as goose shit. You know,
- 56:54he's just knocking on the mic and Damian Priest is no better, Damian Priest
- 56:59has fucked up up his lines, and Finn Balor. I mean it sucks
- 57:05that I like And now that I'm thinking about it, it's all three,
- 57:07That's what I mean. Yeah, and Ria is bigger than this group.
- 57:13So this is where maybe these guys need to separate. They need to go
- 57:16their own ways. They need to work on their characters better. I'm not
- 57:21saying put Damian Priest and Finnbalor back on NXT. No, they can.
- 57:27They can do something else. Maybe they stay together as a tag team.
- 57:30They could use the draft as an excuse why Judgment Day broke up. You
- 57:37know, it could. It doesn't have to be something internal. It could
- 57:38be something that's forceful that breaks them up as a stable. But time and
- 57:45time again, when Don comes out and I see any three of these guys
- 57:49on the mic, I don't know who is worse, you know, like,
- 57:52who's okay, Who's gonna funk up their lines? Tonight? I'm ready
- 57:57to record it. You know, it's gonna be the highlight of Twitter.
- 58:00Uh So, Yeah, like I said, it could be controversial because he's
- 58:07already on the main roster. He this guy had his own match at WrestleMania
- 58:10with his father. He is on Raw and SmackDown, you know, almost
- 58:15every week, so he is getting tons of TV time. But at the
- 58:20end of the day, you know, you gotta be able to carry good
- 58:23promo and make it believable. Uh. Did anybody have Dominic on their list?
- 58:31Hell? No, I could. I could not disagree with that choice.
- 58:39More like you, does does dom still need some work? Yes?
- 58:46Does he still need some development? Absolutely? But does is he so bad
- 58:52that he needs to go down to the NXT? Fuck? No, Like
- 58:55one, NXT don't get no draft picks. They ain't drafting nobody. They
- 59:00to mind the leagues people get drafted from them. They don't get to pick
- 59:04nobody off the Raymo main roster and XT stage damn place. He ain't drafting
- 59:08shit. That's one and two. Whether he whether he says all his lines
- 59:15perfectly or not, it does not matter because right now he is arguably the
- 59:22hottest heel in the WWE. Right now. That heat that he has is
- 59:29genuine investment heat. It ain't that go away heat. It ain't that we're
- 59:32sick of you heat. It might have been like like Dowell said, it
- 59:36may have been that before, but he has made it work and he has
- 59:40turned it into genuine investment heat. People want to see him get his ass
- 59:47kicked, and the more he manages to avoid it and then throw it back
- 59:52in people's face, the more heat he generates. And as far as breaking
- 59:57up the judgment day, I'm not really in favor of that either, because
- 1:00:00again, they're not perfect, but they are one of the top factions in
- 1:00:05WWE right now. For as long as they've been trying, and they've been
- 1:00:09together and been struggling to try to make this thing work, they have managed
- 1:00:15to do it. It ain't been a smooth path, and it ain't been
- 1:00:20clean, it ain't been easy. It's been real ugly. But they're actually
- 1:00:23to the point now that when their music hits, I don't look at them
- 1:00:29as like jeez, like the way I described them previously as the high school
- 1:00:32gang that's trying to seem tough, but nobody believes them. They actually have
- 1:00:38a little bit of credibility now and a little bit of legitimacy to them now.
- 1:00:44And that was pretty much exemplified this past Monday with them forming a many
- 1:00:49alliance with Paul Hammond in the bloodline that gave them a whole lot of legitimacy
- 1:00:54incredibility right now as a faction. And and the way this show ended this
- 1:01:02past Monday with a little bit of like gang warfare and ship with bloodline fighting
- 1:01:07Ko and Sammy and Riddle and then LWO came out there and Judgment Day and
- 1:01:15they all getting they scrap on. I'm like, Oh, this is some
- 1:01:16good shit they got going right here. You got all these factions just intermingled
- 1:01:22and fighting and scrapping it out. Like they should have thought about this going
- 1:01:25into Survivor series. They could have had some shit popping, but they got
- 1:01:31something going right now. Now. It's absolutely not the time to break them
- 1:01:35up now, Rire Ripley, Yes, she needs to separate away from them,
- 1:01:39because I agree she has kind of outgrown them. She needs to separate
- 1:01:45eventually, I don't think. I don't think the timing is quite there yet.
- 1:01:50We all we all are. It's pretty obvious the kind of reactions that
- 1:01:53she's getting when she comes out. It's a mix of booze and cheers.
- 1:01:58Now, so it's almost inevitable at some point before the end of this year,
- 1:02:02maybe even by summers Lamp, she will have had she will have made
- 1:02:06a face turn, and whenever that happens, then that's the time to take
- 1:02:12her away or split and switch her up and make her a full face.
- 1:02:15I do think that she will probably be drafted to SmackDown though as part of
- 1:02:21the draft. But there they I feel like they're gonna try to find some
- 1:02:27way to still keep her Lucy associated with the Judgment Day somehow. But yeah,
- 1:02:34drafting Dominique the NXT and that ain't it? Chief out out of your
- 1:02:45mouth, don't. Yeah, let's hears be controversial. I knew it.
- 1:02:55What's that? I knew it was gonna be controversial. I love it.
- 1:02:58Let's hear it. I get a potentially controversial one. But one of my
- 1:03:01picks, I'll just say it now, is all of Judgment Day from raw
- 1:03:07to SmackDown. Uh. As I said before, you know, Rha is
- 1:03:10the SmackDown champ, but she's a raw talent, so I need to be
- 1:03:15figured out. Um. But yeah, like Drey said, I don't think
- 1:03:19it's time to break this faction up yet. Uh. And when that time
- 1:03:22comes, I think there's more story there than just they got split up by
- 1:03:27the draft, you know. I think there's an opportunity for a couple feuds
- 1:03:31maybe to come out of that. Um So, I think it deserves a
- 1:03:36little more, a little more than just um, you know, oh this
- 1:03:39is but I but I think, um, I think it's a chance to
- 1:03:44turn the whole faction well dominant, kind of the kind of the wild card
- 1:03:50here. But I think Ray is already a face. Um. I think
- 1:03:55a change of scenery like that might be time might be a good chance to
- 1:04:00kind of turned the whole faction face. Now the dom of it all kind
- 1:04:02of fucks out up. Ye, but we're real hard to ask you.
- 1:04:13It's gonna happen, and I'll tell you how it's gonna happen. But anyway,
- 1:04:16um, raw is a little too faction heavy. I do like to
- 1:04:20throw back to like the attitude era gang warfare days. Uh, but SmackDown
- 1:04:27could use the chance, could use a faction um so, that would help
- 1:04:31them there. I think I think Dominic's next thing and it's not gonna go
- 1:04:36well for him. I think dominic sact thing might end up being with Solo,
- 1:04:41and I think I think that I think there might be something with Solo
- 1:04:44and Riya there with that stare down. I think there might be kind of
- 1:04:49a match for her affection or something. You know, I don't think I'll
- 1:04:54go well for Dom. Uh. He might not be the most seasoned performer,
- 1:04:59right, but I don't know that is the whole prison Dom thing took
- 1:05:03some finesse, you know. I don't think everybody like that. There's so
- 1:05:06much tongue in cheek required for that to make that work. I don't think
- 1:05:12anybody could have done that. So like, yeah, the kid flubs some
- 1:05:15lines, sure, um, but I think he's got a good enough handle
- 1:05:21on his character at so far and an advanced age, you know, in
- 1:05:28terms of his development, Like his character work is so far ahead of his
- 1:05:31in ring work, you know, but he's really got to handle on that.
- 1:05:36I think, um, and and some people are phenomenal, look phenomenal
- 1:05:42or great in the ring, but they never are able to, you know,
- 1:05:46get that fine line between funny and making them booyah. And and Dom
- 1:05:54kind of does that naturally. Um. Yeah, that the Dom the Dom
- 1:05:58Ray story is uttil yet. But here's how you turn him face. You
- 1:06:01have them reconcile boom. What makes what makes a great face a great heal?
- 1:06:08Right, Like I think that's I think that I think that's in as
- 1:06:13much as is this nuclear heads getting and you say, how the fund could
- 1:06:15you turn that around? I don't think it's as hard as as it may
- 1:06:19appear at first glance. Well, I agree, I don't think it's impossible
- 1:06:26to turn him face. It absolutely can, and honestly, I kind of
- 1:06:30think that however, this, however this Ray and Dom thing culminates. I
- 1:06:36think it does culminate, and a reconciliation and a dom face turn. I
- 1:06:41do kind of see that ending that you that you laid out. I think
- 1:06:45that's kind of the only way that it is. I don't think it.
- 1:06:46I don't think it would be right if it ended with Dad just beating Sun
- 1:06:50and that's it and we move on. I do believe that there's some sort
- 1:06:55of reconciliation where they come into a DOM could from a Judgment Day enjoining the
- 1:07:02LWO, and that could be a thing. I do like the aspect of
- 1:07:06the prospect of Judgment Day as a as an entirety going to SmackDown if if
- 1:07:15imperium goes to raw as well. I like I like those two being a
- 1:07:21swap, like a whole faction swap. I do like that bundled together right
- 1:07:29make sense. All right, Drey, we're gonna go through your draft picks.
- 1:07:32Uh did we run through all the doors or did we just get these
- 1:07:35one? Talk aboudment? All right, right, let's hear your list.
- 1:07:51Okay, so when going through this, let me say first things first,
- 1:07:59I do not the writers in WWE in terms of trying to figure out how
- 1:08:05to move things around, because when I initially looked at the entire roster,
- 1:08:11I struggled to kind of pick out who should go where because for a lot
- 1:08:15of it, for a lot of these people, I thought they were actually
- 1:08:18kind of good where they're at. There's only like a small as Now as
- 1:08:24I'm looked at it more, I was able to pick out some and some
- 1:08:28of the ones that you people that y'all have brought up so far are actually
- 1:08:30some real interesting ones that I actually really like. And I'm you know,
- 1:08:34mad at myself for not even thinking of them. But to start off,
- 1:08:45well, my methodology for for making my picks was not so much thinking about
- 1:08:49the overall like storylines or anything like that, but more like looking at the
- 1:08:55individual wrestlers and seeing who kind of was in a stuck place and needed something
- 1:09:02needed to change, and I kind of looked a little lower down on the
- 1:09:06roster for some of my picks, but starting off, I did start off
- 1:09:11with a bit of a bang at my first draft. I would send Oscar
- 1:09:17to SmackDown. The reason being is I think she's done all that she can
- 1:09:25do on raw. We have not seen her at all sins WrestleMania, I
- 1:09:30don't think and SmackDown women's division is pretty lacking in a list talent. They
- 1:09:40need some more top tier names over there to help boost boost up the SmackDown
- 1:09:45brand. And I'm working on the premise that Ria Ripley as SmackDown Champion is
- 1:09:53a SmackDown superstar. So I'm taking her draft pick as as as an assumption,
- 1:09:59as an inherent one that's already happening. So I would send Oscar down
- 1:10:04there to SmackDown. She that could give them a real high level feud to
- 1:10:11have on SmackDown with Oscar going after Rhea and Oscar could also work be another
- 1:10:17top face to work with plenty of the other stars there there. She could
- 1:10:21be a you know, an eventual opponent for Raquel Rodriguez as she develops them,
- 1:10:27you know, uh, rises up the ladder to become a tie up
- 1:10:33a top talent. So that's my first one. Number two, I'm splitting
- 1:10:41up a tag team. But I'm not splitting up the Alpha Academy as much
- 1:10:45as I hate to do it now, sorry. I'm splitting up the Street
- 1:10:50Profits and I'm sending Angelo Dawkins to SmackDown. What Yep, We're splitting up
- 1:11:00the Street Profits. Splitting up the Street Profits, and this is to me,
- 1:11:04this is more about the fact that montes Forward is ready to go solo.
- 1:11:10I think it's time for him to have his solo run. And unless
- 1:11:15you're gonna give the Street Profits another tag title run, which I don't think
- 1:11:18they're going to do, then there's really nothing else for them to do as
- 1:11:21a team. So it's time to break them up. And most people view
- 1:11:28montest Forward as the one with the bigger potential of the two, and as
- 1:11:33such he should probably stay on Raw. We already saw him working with Raw
- 1:11:39talent in the Elimination Chamber. He had a big showing. He's got familiarity
- 1:11:43with the Raw audience. Let Angelo Dawkins go to SmackDown, let him develop
- 1:11:49there, Let and then and him as a big man. There's a lot
- 1:11:54of bigger guys on SmackDown that he can work with and have some good matches
- 1:11:58and some potential good views with. Think of braun Strowman, think of Gunter.
- 1:12:01If he were to remain on SmackDown, I think he would be well
- 1:12:06served on Huh, I said, I was just kidding. Want what oh
- 1:12:15SmackDown? Yeah? Yeah, But if he were, he would be a
- 1:12:18good He would be a good person that Dawkins could work with. And you
- 1:12:21know, you know, we people don't want to say it, but you
- 1:12:27know, more or less, SmackDown is kind of the lesser brand of the
- 1:12:30two between Ron SmackDown, so you know, the the number two of the
- 1:12:36tag team. I hate saying this got a lie. It feels like you're
- 1:12:39shipping on the guy when I think Angel Dawkins is a genuine good wrestler.
- 1:12:43I think he's a good talent and can develop. But I just don't think
- 1:12:46he's Raw caliber or Raw ready yet. I feel like if he was on
- 1:12:51Raw as a solo wrestler, he would get lost in the shuffle and they
- 1:12:57should just become a no name somebody at least on SmackDown tag team, or
- 1:13:00somebody's just better than the other. It is. It's unfortunate, but that's
- 1:13:03right, how it is right right, and at least on Smack it down,
- 1:13:08he has an opportunity to to be relevant and the potential to prove himself
- 1:13:13as a solo person, as a solo act and go there. So that
- 1:13:16would be my number two. Yeah, I like that. I mean conventional
- 1:13:20wisdom is that tag teams break up, right, but yeah, sometimes if
- 1:13:27you have an amicable split, you know, uh, you know, they
- 1:13:30could run into each other again down the line two years, three years,
- 1:13:33you do a reunion, they go on another run, then they do the
- 1:13:36turn on each other something like that. Or they could be a tag team
- 1:13:41that you know, reunites every you know, like what they did with the
- 1:13:45Shield where they every every three years. You would have a every two years
- 1:13:48a Shield reunion. You could have a street profits or edging Christen or whatever.
- 1:13:53And you know, any heartiason that such yep, yeah, uh,
- 1:13:58I mean you could you could do that. I mean the stuck factor alone,
- 1:14:03you know, because people are so accustomed to seeing these two guys together
- 1:14:08and always have been together. So if they were involved in that um that
- 1:14:13promo on Monday, where yeah, they already kind of did hints at the
- 1:14:17possibility of them spending m hmm. Yeah, but the seeds have been sewn,
- 1:14:24as they say, m hm. So my third pick, yeah,
- 1:14:30this one is a business decision, I'll see, and I mean business,
- 1:14:38not in terms of like storyline business, but actual like WWE business decision.
- 1:14:43Okay, I would draft Drew McIntyre to raw. It's the news is out
- 1:14:50there. It's no secret that Drew McIntyre's contract is supposedly set to end at
- 1:14:55the end of this year, and that he has not signed a new contract,
- 1:15:00and there have been stories about that he is a bit unhappy with his
- 1:15:03current uh character and unhappy with the w w E, and it's been wildly
- 1:15:11speculated that is very possible he may leave, that he may not sign a
- 1:15:15new contract, he may not renew, and he would be a big loss
- 1:15:23for the ww especially if he were to leave and jump to a w that
- 1:15:27would be major. Well, they're having having a big show at Wembley Stadium
- 1:15:33coming up, so like, you know, you want to put a you
- 1:15:38don't think if there's a chance they can get to Drew McIntyre or Drew galloway
- 1:15:43UH as he's known in the indies. Uh, If you think if there's
- 1:15:46not a chance, if there's a chance they can get that guy, they're
- 1:15:48not going to take that swing. Yeah, I mean they can't do it
- 1:15:54as tickets. So if his contract is truly up soon, you know,
- 1:16:00yeah, well they well, aw can't do it now. Yeah, they
- 1:16:02can't. But they can't do it now because he's under contract mostly through through
- 1:16:06this year. Yeah, so I mean, he ain't going to Drew can't
- 1:16:11do shit for him for their upcoming Wimbley show this year was up in the
- 1:16:15summer. No, no, no, from what I've heard of, his
- 1:16:17contract expires at the end of the year. So yeah, supposedly he's he's
- 1:16:21still he'll still be with w W through through twenty twenty three, I believe.
- 1:16:27So, so they got time to, you know, to make him
- 1:16:31happy, to woo them and get him back in the fold. And I
- 1:16:34think one way of doing that is taking him off Smack now, putting him
- 1:16:39on Raw on the premier show, on the flagship show, and let him
- 1:16:44him let letting Drew be a top baby face on Raw and give him,
- 1:16:49you know, let him feud with some of their top names and all that
- 1:16:51stuff. I think that would go a long way. Towards, uh,
- 1:16:58restoring some good will with Drew McIntyre and hopes of getting him to sign a
- 1:17:04new contract with the WWE. So that's my number three pure business decision draft.
- 1:17:12When you said when, when you when you prefaced it by saying pure
- 1:17:15business decision, I thought you took one of mine. Uh, And I
- 1:17:18almost said, oh, I got the same one. But then you went
- 1:17:21a completely different direction and it wasn't at all what I thought it was gonna
- 1:17:26be. So my whopper was coming is forthcoming. Yeah, I told him
- 1:17:30that pick. I think that pick because he, like you said, he
- 1:17:34does seem unhappy, and uh, maybe there's something better for him. Maybe
- 1:17:40the grass is greener on the other side on raw. Hopefully they can find
- 1:17:44some way to keep him happy. Uh, you know, because him going
- 1:17:47to a w would be a huge, huge hit for wb And you know
- 1:17:53Tony Kahn would open up the bank to sign Drew McIntyre. Hell yeah,
- 1:17:58he would hand him. You would hand him a check and say write down
- 1:18:00whatever number you want, sir. Who' do you got from number four?
- 1:18:05All right? So my last two are my last two. I'm deep dipping
- 1:18:14down deep into the roster for these two. These are two women that I
- 1:18:20think right now have potential but are very much being lost in the sauce where
- 1:18:29where they currently are. So I'll just bundle these two together because they pretty
- 1:18:32much have the same rationale for both. That's number four Zia Lee from SmackDown
- 1:18:40to Raw, and in number five, I would draft Nicky Cross from Raw
- 1:18:45to SmackDown. Both of them are good workers in the ring. They're both
- 1:18:53excellent wrestlers, but they just have zero direction and are just drowning where they
- 1:19:00currently are on the current rosters. So I think they both would benefit from
- 1:19:04a bit of a switch up. In Zi Lee's case, I think it
- 1:19:08would be good to put her on Raw and put her in in a faction
- 1:19:15like damage Control, or team her up with somebody on a raw like a
- 1:19:23meat chin or something to let them and let them form a tag team if
- 1:19:27you want to bolster your women's tag team division, or put her in damage
- 1:19:29control, let her link up and get the rub from that faction and get
- 1:19:33some elevation in the same way that Dakota Kai and El Sky gut when they
- 1:19:38paired up with Bailey. I think that would serve a good benefit of for
- 1:19:42her. Like I said, I maybe it's just me, but I have
- 1:19:45a personal affection for Ziale. I've seen her work in the ring, and
- 1:19:47I think she does good work, and I think there's potential there and the
- 1:19:51fact that she is the first Chinese superstar in WWE, and they're just like
- 1:19:58not doing anything with that at especially as huge of a market as China is.
- 1:20:02I don't know what type of you know, market share WW has in
- 1:20:06China. China even allows w W content in there, But man, that's
- 1:20:13if you look at just for a pure business sense, there's potential money being
- 1:20:15left on the table by having your first Chinese superstar in ww just doing nothing,
- 1:20:21nothing at all, nothing at all Like that doesn't bode well for international,
- 1:20:28for any of your international prospects. So I think that will work.
- 1:20:30And in Nicky Cross's case, again, she's another good worker and who when
- 1:20:38they first made the switch, dropped the Nikki as said thing and reverted her
- 1:20:43back to Nicky Cross. She had a little bit, a little bit of
- 1:20:46attention being brought to her and she was getting some shine, but has all
- 1:20:51but disappeared since Survivor series. So I think she needs a I think she
- 1:20:58needs a fresh start and and SmackDown could be it for her. She could
- 1:21:01be a good worker, she could help bolster that roster, and she could
- 1:21:05make for a interesting foe or a potential good foe for someone like a rear
- 1:21:11Ripley to face whenever rear Ripley inevitably turns baby face on SmackDown. I think
- 1:21:16there's she would have more space to work with on SmackDown rather than trying to
- 1:21:20fight for position on Raw. Those are my five, and I do have
- 1:21:28another. I do have an honorable mention, but I will save that for
- 1:21:30later. All right, here we go for Doyle. All right, Doyle,
- 1:21:50let's hear your five so well. So Dre wants to yeah to damage
- 1:21:57control, and I will not take that off the table because I'm gonna move
- 1:22:00damage control as a whole from Raw to SmackDown. Yeah. I mean you
- 1:22:08can say this for everybody, I think, but you know, they I
- 1:22:11feel like they definitely need to change the scenery. All three of them are
- 1:22:16so good, but like as a whole, I'm not even sure they I'm
- 1:22:23not sure they worked great together. So maybe adding to it is what you
- 1:22:26want to do, or you can tell their breakup story over there. But
- 1:22:30either way, the SmackDown women's roster was pretty thin. Adding three pretty high
- 1:22:38level women into that mix, I think is always good. You know.
- 1:22:42Then the two biggest stars over there, Charlotte and Ronda, you know part
- 1:22:48time or borderline part time. So SmackDown definitely needs a bump. I think
- 1:22:57if you can insert three, they can run rough shot because there is no
- 1:23:00real faction, uh you know, and they have they have interest in the
- 1:23:05tag titles, so I think there's a lot for damn with control they do
- 1:23:09over there. Um, And I think that would help the women's division quite
- 1:23:15a bit. Um because three of my my five got taken. I'll throw
- 1:23:21in my honorable mention here as my second. Um. And that's another package
- 1:23:29deal. Although these aren't always characters that are linked on television. I want
- 1:23:34Seth and Becky both over the SmackDown. I figure where one goes the other
- 1:23:40does too. Oh yeah, yeah for sure. And again with both of
- 1:23:44them, I feel like they both need to change the scenery. They've kind
- 1:23:47of done all there is to do. Again, that SmackDown women's roster really
- 1:23:51needs some bolstering. So you get Becky Lynch over there. In Seth's case,
- 1:23:58um, you know, he's a possible Roman Reigns opponent. You know,
- 1:24:04as much as they have so much history together, they haven't faced each
- 1:24:09other in a year and a half or so. Seth is one of the
- 1:24:13last people to get a victory over Roman Reigns. Branded was a count out
- 1:24:17right or it was a DQ I can't remember, but either way, the
- 1:24:21story of that match was that Roman had to get himself eliminated because he couldn't
- 1:24:26handle you know. So, I think there's still unresolved issues. And as
- 1:24:31much as those two characters will always be in each other's orbit, it's just
- 1:24:35you know, so, I think he kind of killed two birds one stone
- 1:24:41getting them both over there. But my big one, the the one I
- 1:24:46thought when Drey said this is a business decision, this is my business decision,
- 1:24:51I think I might know who you're gonna pick. Go ahead, free
- 1:24:55agent Logan Paul. That's who I fucking thought. You're gonna pick some of
- 1:25:00them, bitch. He just signed a new contract with WWE. It's supposedly
- 1:25:09multi year, so he's not going anywhere. You know, he might not
- 1:25:14show up every week, but when he does, I mean Fox is gonna
- 1:25:16want that ratings pop, you know, And and if he if he does
- 1:25:21three or four pay per views a year, he's gonna be involved a couple
- 1:25:26of weeks ahead of each of those. So you're gonna get him twelve,
- 1:25:29sixteen, twenty weeks out of the year. Maybe. But I also I
- 1:25:33don't think it's outside of the realm of possibility that he may, you know,
- 1:25:38go like, you know what, I'm gonna take six months, I'm
- 1:25:41gonna take a year or whatever it is, and I'm gonna do this,
- 1:25:44you know, full time. I could see him holding a US title or
- 1:25:49excuse me, an intercontinental title, you know, and like him or not,
- 1:25:54and I don't. I'm not supposed to because he's a here um.
- 1:26:00But he's pretty good at professional wrestling, you know. I dare say he's
- 1:26:05probably the top half of workers that work for the company. I mean,
- 1:26:10granted, he has the benefit of being able to concentrate on one match at
- 1:26:15a time where most of the most of our heroes and villains are doing this
- 1:26:19weekend week out, um, and he's got Sean Michaels holding his hand through
- 1:26:25the you know, the planning process of the match. But I think he's
- 1:26:29proven that he can do it. I think there's no reason to say that
- 1:26:32he couldn't do it more and bigger, and you know, if he's gonna
- 1:26:36be around, it's gonna be a big deal. And I think Fox would
- 1:26:42would welcome that boost to the ratings. And yeah, so that's my Uh,
- 1:26:48those are my four picks. I like it. Um Yeah, Logan
- 1:26:55Paul's like some a bitch. I knew he's gonna pick Logan Paul. I
- 1:26:58had a feeling. Uh yeah, love love him or hate him, like
- 1:27:03when he's there, he did he makes money. I mean, he makes
- 1:27:06them money. The ratings go up, My guests, we might not see
- 1:27:11him into another Saudi pay per view because you know, there's this one coming
- 1:27:16up, so maybe that's where we see him again. I'm not saying we're
- 1:27:19gonna see him verse Seth Rollins again. We can see him put with somebody
- 1:27:24else, but yeah, I definitely see him included in the draft as a
- 1:27:29big pick. Like if they're only gonna do like I don't know, like
- 1:27:31like we said, they don't, they don't draft the whole roster those two
- 1:27:35nights that we'll get the rest of them later. How many they're gonna be
- 1:27:40four picks and they're gonna be sixteen like exactly so like, but either way,
- 1:27:45I think he'd be a big one that they would throw in there.
- 1:27:48Um, like you know, they would definitely want that attention. Uh.
- 1:27:55But also like in the past, we've seen them draft uh even fun commentators
- 1:28:01moving shows. So I mean not that I have any specific commentators I want
- 1:28:06to go somewhere. I mean, I'm just like twiddling my thumbs. Seen
- 1:28:11geral managers, you've seen World champions general managers. Yeah, commentators, I
- 1:28:16mean anybody, yeah, ring announcers, anybody's up for grabs, really,
- 1:28:20you know, yeah, oh man, let's let's see. Uh, let's
- 1:28:23see a draft wasted on a referee. I want to see that. Love
- 1:28:28to see that. You know, you get brock less and drafted, then
- 1:28:30you get like a referee drafted next, Like what the fuck? Everybody's colligible.
- 1:28:36Swap ring announcers, Yeah, swap ring announcers. You know. Uh,
- 1:28:42you know, you know two people who are on this roster that we
- 1:28:44definitely I don't think we'll see in this draft. He's a Bray Wyatt and
- 1:28:48Uncle Howdy still listed under the roster. Current roster, and still they're both
- 1:28:56on SmackDown, both listed, both probably still getting paid haven't heard jack shit
- 1:29:02from any of these guys since both pre WrestleMania. Supposedly bray Wyatt is recovering
- 1:29:09from some medical issue, is the last thing I've heard. So that's that's
- 1:29:15all we know. It's very vague, so we don't know if that's a
- 1:29:17physical thing, or if it's a mental health thing or what have you.
- 1:29:21Now, we don't know. I just hope for whatever it is a speedy,
- 1:29:26healthy recovery, because honestly, like I love, I love bray Wyatt,
- 1:29:31you know, I love his gimmick, and his gimmick just seems as
- 1:29:34he changes and evolves, has gotten better and better, and it just sucks
- 1:29:40that, Like the build up for him coming back was so big. We
- 1:29:44were so excited to see him at the Wells Fargo when he came back,
- 1:29:47and then it just stops the momentum. It was just little vignettes, little
- 1:29:54tiny vignette teases. And then the only match she's really had was a Mountain
- 1:30:00dew Neon Glows Cliber Pump twenty twenty seven and to go match with La Night.
- 1:30:09And you know, I hate to toot my own horn, but I
- 1:30:15seem to recall saying something to the effect of uh, because that because he
- 1:30:19debuted righted that weird time where they had they had a big instead of their
- 1:30:26normal pay per view pay per view pay per view paste they kind of it
- 1:30:29kind of it was weird. In that time, there was like a the
- 1:30:32longest time, Yeah, it was. It was. It was the longest
- 1:30:36period of time between pay per views since like the early nineties or something,
- 1:30:42and the show y'all went to right way right between that and the Rumble or
- 1:30:45something or no, it might have been Survivor series in the Rumble. Yeah,
- 1:30:50but I was like, there's so much space in there. If they
- 1:30:53don't play this brave card right, they might really fuck it up. And
- 1:30:58uh, I think I'm prepared to say they really fucked it up. Yeah,
- 1:31:02yeah, definitely, yeah they did. But at the same time,
- 1:31:04I don't entirely blame the WWE because, as let's not forget bray Wyatt has
- 1:31:12been granted much more control over his character's direction this time around. So it
- 1:31:16isn't that this whole storyline and the execution of his character since coming back wasn't
- 1:31:23all WWE saying this is what we're doing this week, this is what we're
- 1:31:27doing next week. I believe a lot of it, and honestly, I
- 1:31:30think more than fifty percent of it was bray Wyatt laying out the ideas and
- 1:31:35the just uh plans he wanted for his character and then maybe working maybe with
- 1:31:43some people on the writing team to execute it and all that stuff and basically
- 1:31:46getting Triple Agents approval like all right, cool, go with it, Ozzie.
- 1:31:50I blamed bray Wyatt more than I blamed WWE for this, for the
- 1:31:58stalling in momentum that bray Wyatt is underwent since he came back, and that's
- 1:32:02not and that's independent of whatever he's dealing with now. I just I'm looking
- 1:32:10at it just from when he was active on television and how that was executed,
- 1:32:15and I say, I think that's more on bray in terms of dragging
- 1:32:19out his storyline way too long. Mm hm oh yeah, please still installing
- 1:32:27the momentum. I mean, but part of that was a function of the
- 1:32:30debut him in extreme roles. They don't do anything on them at the Survivor
- 1:32:33series a month later, and then there's two months until the Royal Rumble and
- 1:32:40that idiotic uh Mountain Dew match that I blamed four that's stupid matcham n Uh,
- 1:32:53yeah, No, I think I think. I don't think he's ready
- 1:32:57for raw yet. I would keep him on SmackDown. I would let I
- 1:33:00would let him stay on smack Down and develop more and build up a little
- 1:33:02bit more menum, momentum develop. I'm not I don't mean to develop as
- 1:33:09a as a wrestler more. But his character, this this thing he's got
- 1:33:13going out is still it's over some, yes, but it's still kind of
- 1:33:18fresh. He ain't that far removed from being Renee dupree. I ain't that
- 1:33:26far removed from it. So I would let it. I would let it
- 1:33:29cook him. I would let it cook a little bit more on smack Down
- 1:33:31before I jump him over the raw. Um. I don't know. I
- 1:33:43have a question for everybody, though, I throw this out there. Um,
- 1:33:46do y'all think in this draft we will see some n XT call ups,
- 1:33:50and if so, who absolutely? I think outside the obvious bron Breaker.
- 1:33:57Well, here's the thing is, I don't know we'll get braun Breaker.
- 1:34:00He is now a heel and doing heel work now. I don't know
- 1:34:04if they might just keep him on NXT as a heal. But I think
- 1:34:10we're gonna get people maybe like Tyler Bate. We might get uh female wise,
- 1:34:15I'd like to see Zoe Stark or cored Jade. That was my honorable
- 1:34:19Minchen Yep, mays NXT call up right, Maybe they'll bring somebody like Tiffany
- 1:34:28Stratton. I oh god, do you guys know that Roderick Strong is still
- 1:34:33on NXT? Brodrick Strong like st Yeah, that's like that blows my fucking
- 1:34:43mind that he's still on NXT. Um. I don't know, like Shank
- 1:34:49still lost Macow Technically Jim dur Mahal is on NXT right now, Will they
- 1:34:56ever bring his ass back up? You know? He he's a prime example
- 1:35:00of a guy who needed to go back. Dude, that guy was a
- 1:35:03former WBE champion and then put him back NXT. So it just shows that
- 1:35:08nobody is off limits from going back to NXT for work. But it's just
- 1:35:12they don't have no intentions on putting anybody back in NXC. Maybe j C.
- 1:35:18Jane and and Gig Nolan can finally go to the main roster. I
- 1:35:24don't say they have to be on the same the same roster um right now.
- 1:35:29Indy Hartwell is is championed so I don't see them bringing her up yet,
- 1:35:33even though I think she was due for call up. I mean nxcise,
- 1:35:39I don't watch enough NXT. But aren't there a number of tag teams?
- 1:35:44Couldn't they maybe get a couple of tag teams back up, and maybe,
- 1:35:47especially if we're gonna split up the Tag Belts I hope. Yeah.
- 1:35:53Uh, it'd be nice to have a couple like actual tag teams, especially
- 1:35:57in the women's division where most of the tag teams are just two chicks they
- 1:36:01ran the way through together, you know, like the current champions. Aren't
- 1:36:08there aren't Aren't there a couple of like like solid unit like tag teams like
- 1:36:13that? There is? Uh? You know, I love a tag team
- 1:36:18that wears the same stuff. This is you know, this is a big,
- 1:36:21big pet peeve of my Yeah, they definitely have some women. They
- 1:36:28have tons of women on their attacks. They have some tag teams down there
- 1:36:31they could bring up. Uh, let me see Casey Katana Chance. Katana
- 1:36:36Chance is tag team partners with her name eludes me. I can't find it.
- 1:36:45Ah shit, somebody's probably screaming it right now. I can't. Oh,
- 1:36:49Kayden Carter. Uh, they've been a tag team for quite some time
- 1:36:54on NXT, their former NXT. I think that's specifically who I was thinking
- 1:36:58of. Yeah, that that's that's a tag team I could definitely see called
- 1:37:01up. They made you know, they made a mistake by breaking up Gig
- 1:37:05and Jacu once uh Mandy Rose left. That would have been a good tag
- 1:37:11team. I mean, toxic attraction, that would have been a good one.
- 1:37:15Absolutely should have broken them up. Yeah, not saying that they can't
- 1:37:19put them back together, but it was roster. They absolutely could the Rockers
- 1:37:25go back together. Yeah, Yeah, it's just you know, they need
- 1:37:30more women's tag teams if they're gonna if they want us to take the tag
- 1:37:34team titles. Seriously, right now, they're on Live Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez,
- 1:37:41and I don't think that's gonna last long. I just think they're going
- 1:37:44to be fed to when they're ready, when Ronda and Shana Basler are physically
- 1:37:48ready, They're just gonna be fed to them playing. That's just how it's
- 1:37:51gonna end up being. And I think they're just gonna hold on to them
- 1:37:55for a good amount of time and just run through the rosters probably, but
- 1:38:01to the NXT effect, this is kind of this is This leads more to
- 1:38:08something that I've brought up before in terms of the wwe would be well served
- 1:38:13to have more open integration between the main roster and NXT, because as of
- 1:38:20now, they still like to treat them like, treat NXT like its own
- 1:38:24separate thing when even carry over the right right and I think they would be
- 1:38:32better served if they if they just openly acknowledge NXT for what it is,
- 1:38:36which is basically their developmental to territory. Treat it like it, treat it
- 1:38:43openly the way like the Major League Baseball does the minor leagues, or the
- 1:38:46way in like the NBA and the G League. Let it be that developmental
- 1:38:51thing and openly acknowledge it and integrate it in between into the things that you
- 1:38:58do. And to that effect, I think, like I suggested earlier this
- 1:39:02year that UM Royal Rumble spots should have been should have automatically gone to the
- 1:39:09NXT champion in women's champion, that they should have gotten automatic bids into the
- 1:39:14World Rumble. That's one thing in regards to this draft. I think it
- 1:39:17would be a good thing if they said, if they openly acknowledged and said,
- 1:39:23hey, raw and SmackDown will each have two draft picks from the n
- 1:39:29XT roster, like if they if they made that a stated thing beforehand,
- 1:39:33like, hey, Raw's gonna draft two NXT people. SmackDown is gonna get
- 1:39:38too NXT draft picks in addition to everything else that they do in between.
- 1:39:42And if you made that like an open thing that was acknowledged and then you
- 1:39:45had and you pitched that to the NXT roster, play that out on NXT
- 1:39:50is like yo, they're watching, like the people are Raw are looking,
- 1:39:55the people a SmackDown are looking. Here's your opportunity to impress them. Make
- 1:39:58a bid to you know, get that spot, or if it's not a
- 1:40:02draft thing, make it a spot that somebody has to actually win, Like,
- 1:40:06hey, we have two open spots on each roster, and y'all have
- 1:40:12to compete for them. Have like a maybe you know, a little mini
- 1:40:15tournament, you know, one man one woman for each roster, you know,
- 1:40:18one man on SmackDown, one woman on SmackDown, one man one woman
- 1:40:23on Raw and make them compete for making something that they win. That's that
- 1:40:27type of open integration that would help generate one more interested in NXT, get
- 1:40:32more people interested in it. Get some of that bleed over from the people
- 1:40:36who are tuning into Raw and SmackDown and say, oh, oh, there's
- 1:40:40something happening on NXT that we should pay attention to that's gonna play out later
- 1:40:44on Raw SmackDown. Let me go check out nxtn see how this plays out.
- 1:40:46They would be well served, I think, to do things like that
- 1:40:50openly and have that have those crossover storylines like that. Anytime you can integrate
- 1:40:59matches to me, you know, matches and aren't for titles and ostensively aren't
- 1:41:04for anything, make them beat for something, you know what I mean,
- 1:41:08anytime you can do that. Yeah, Like like I was saying, you
- 1:41:13know, even even in the in the main rasta draft, you know how
- 1:41:16they did it for a couple of years where they would have you know,
- 1:41:19a SmackDown wrestler and a raw wrestler wrestle to see who would get the draft
- 1:41:25pick. And back then there's much more segregation, so you didn't have you
- 1:41:30know, Raw and SmackDown versus SmackDown matches all the time. A special thing
- 1:41:35in and of itself, and then then it's for something, it ratches it
- 1:41:39up another notch, you know, and and it makes an otherwise, you
- 1:41:44know, match means something. Yeah. Do you guys remember when they would
- 1:41:49do the draft, Um, they would have all the superstars on the same
- 1:41:54show and they would wear the shirts. They would wear their branch and I
- 1:41:59was kind of cool because sometimes at the end of the episode, I recall
- 1:42:02one year, this is when Triple H. This is probably the same time
- 1:42:06Triple H got drafted to SmackDown. Eddie Guerrero was w W champion at the
- 1:42:12time. Triple H had a match against Eddie Guerrero. Right, I'm like,
- 1:42:15oh my god, Like, Triple H is going to go to SmackDown.
- 1:42:19I haven't seen him on SmackDown in many, many years. He's gonna
- 1:42:23go against the w W champion. He might beat Eddie Guerrero. You know,
- 1:42:26I'm young, I don't know, I'm young and dumb, but I
- 1:42:30remember this is when Stone Colt was running Raw. You know, they started
- 1:42:35sending out SmackDown superstars to interfere, right smack All these blue shirts are out
- 1:42:41there interfering, and then you hear Jaron King like, we need more red
- 1:42:44shirts out here, we need more red shirts. And Stone Cool comes out
- 1:42:46and he's like sending out all these guys in red shirts. He's gone in
- 1:42:50the back, he's bringing all these guys in red shirts, and it's just
- 1:42:53a flood of red and blue just on the outside, ball crazy, and
- 1:43:00and that's how it went off of the air. And I just thought that
- 1:43:02was awesome, that that was so cool. How you would have like the
- 1:43:06whole roster there just just going fucking nuts. And it wasn't women. It
- 1:43:11was just all men. But now, I mean, you have enough you
- 1:43:15might as was this pun of them all in there, but uh, I
- 1:43:17don't think we'll ever see something like that again. At one point, NXT
- 1:43:24was a big deal when they were included in Survivor series. You know,
- 1:43:28that's when I thought when NXT felt like it was an equal almost too raw
- 1:43:35and SmackDown, like they were taking a lot more serious. That's from Triple
- 1:43:40H invaded Raw and SmackDown on the old d X style on a tank and
- 1:43:45he had the whole NXT roster. That's when Rhea was on NXT. You
- 1:43:49know that, Huh. I thought Shot invented that, Yeah right, the
- 1:43:56little thing sure DX did back in nineteen ninety seven. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:44:01yeah, but like they did it, and that wasn't a thing that was
- 1:44:04a homeb. They pulled up. They made it work though they they invaded
- 1:44:09raw and SmackDown, you know, like you know, I could hear Kern
- 1:44:12angle now like, oh they're under siege. You know, we're under attack,
- 1:44:16you know, uh uh, you know that was when Brand's supremacy was
- 1:44:23very important. That's when survivor shares was important. That's when so like like,
- 1:44:28my roster is better than your roster. And then when you you know,
- 1:44:31a key component to all that is when you see heels and faces working
- 1:44:36together against the common enemy. You know, and you kind of had the
- 1:44:42same thing back to the nWo back then. You know when when they would
- 1:44:46flood the ring with uh you know nWo guys and then the WCT will run
- 1:44:55out there, roster run out and yeah and you have flair you know next
- 1:44:59to goldber next what you know, like yeah, anytime, it makes it
- 1:45:04feel more um, I don't know what the word for it is, uh
- 1:45:11cool, yeah, cool, It feels more like a real thing. You
- 1:45:16know when when when the two guys that hate each other suddenly going, oh
- 1:45:20no, let's team up against this motherfucker. Because you know, like there's
- 1:45:27a certain amount of um ravitas or whatever you uh, you know, yeah,
- 1:45:32you know, and all that sounds great. It would be good things
- 1:45:35to do. I think it would require them to fundamentally, fundamentally rethink how
- 1:45:44they look at their brands and their roster like rather than it's just being WWE
- 1:45:50and Raw SmackDown in name only, they would have to go back to the
- 1:45:57roots of the roster split and look at Raw and smack Down as fundamentally different
- 1:46:01things. Even if you have like your champions at the top and NXC as
- 1:46:08it's as it's you know, it's minor leagues, they would have to rethink
- 1:46:13it from an organizational standpoint. I'm not saying it can't be done. I
- 1:46:17think it is possible because I still the thing that always hangs in the back
- 1:46:24of my mind was when WWE hired I still don't remember the persons name,
- 1:46:29but they hired a writer who used to work at I think Marvel or DC
- 1:46:33or something. But they brought the person in to work on their writing team
- 1:46:39to help do more develop more long term storylines and to do To pull off
- 1:46:47something like that would require a mind like that. It would require to somebody
- 1:46:51to almost have like an mcu type of mentality when looking at WWE in terms
- 1:47:00of like, Okay, some you guys over here, y'all can do some
- 1:47:03week to week things, but here's this overall picture. Here's this overall grand
- 1:47:10story that we're going to tell in the WWE for like the next year.
- 1:47:15You know, somebody's gotta be playing into stuff, stuff out like months in
- 1:47:19advance and thinking like, you know, it's all gonna culminate at you know,
- 1:47:24WrestleMania next year this way, and here's how we're gonna get there.
- 1:47:29And I don't know if they I don't know if they're looking at their storytelling
- 1:47:34in that way right now. I would hope that they were. I would
- 1:47:39hope, especially somebody like Triple As, I would hope that they would have
- 1:47:41that type of foresight or have that type of grand picture. I just don't
- 1:47:46know if ww is there yet. You can only do so much of that,
- 1:47:50though, because because somebody gets injured and then the whole right right right,
- 1:47:57that is the complication. But getting coke and then you get suspended,
- 1:48:02Yeah, I'm saying like, yeah, you can't do you can't necessarily do
- 1:48:05it to every single you know, down to every minor detail. But it
- 1:48:12would be good to have some sort of brand plan for some of these things
- 1:48:17in terms of how you look at it. And yes, obviously injuries can
- 1:48:23change things that the drop of a dime, and you have to have some
- 1:48:26level of fluidity to it. But I still think they would benefit from having
- 1:48:30a bit from taking a bit of a wider and more long term view at
- 1:48:36their storytelling beyond just that's our next guy. We're gonna spend the next year
- 1:48:43building him up. Yeah, I mean, I definitely see what you're saying,
- 1:48:47and I don't categorically disagree with you, And I think I think they've
- 1:48:55been doing a pretty good job of more long term planning for stuff. But
- 1:49:00this is such a unique thing, right, like like guys and gals,
- 1:49:06uh, pretending to fight in front of an audience, you know, like
- 1:49:11uh, and and you know, in addition to injuries can can derail a
- 1:49:15whole thing. You know, sometimes the audience just ain't there for it,
- 1:49:19you know what I mean. And if if they've planned out this whole thing
- 1:49:23and the audience is shifting all over it, then you're gonna pivot again.
- 1:49:27Uh. So, yes, I agree, it's a great idea to have
- 1:49:31shit planned out in an advance or whatever. But yeah, you gotta be
- 1:49:35ready to blow the whole thing up if you have to. Uh. And
- 1:49:41and you know, one thing affects another thing, but affects another thing.
- 1:49:45You know, if you've got two guys you're building up this big main event,
- 1:49:48one of them gets hurt, you got to insert somebody else in there,
- 1:49:51and then you're taking him away from some other things, and then you're
- 1:49:54gonna get somebody else into that feud, and then that person taking somebody else
- 1:49:58from out of something else. So you know, so the whole thing collapses
- 1:50:00on itself. It's a house of cards. So yes, should they look
- 1:50:03forward, Yes, I think they're I think they've been much better about doing
- 1:50:06that. I think they should do that. But a lot of room for
- 1:50:11it. There has to be a big Martian ramea, you know, because
- 1:50:15a lot of ship can go wrong, not just injuries. Sure, and
- 1:50:19I'm not saying that, you know that the planning has to be that detailed
- 1:50:24in terms of like, Okay, these two are gonna feud, and this's
- 1:50:27gonna happen, and then that feud is gonna lead into this feud. And
- 1:50:29while they're doing that feud, we're gonna have this subtle thing going on in
- 1:50:31the background that's gonna play out in August, and it's coming they do.
- 1:50:34I'm not saying they have to think on it on that level. I'm not
- 1:50:36saying that that's the type of detailing and planning that they have to have.
- 1:50:41I'm saying something more to the effect of, you know, again, like
- 1:50:44I said, first things first, fundamentally change how you view your brands and
- 1:50:51your roster. Treat and openly treat NXT as the developmental territory that it is.
- 1:50:58You know, do the do do those minor integrations between an XC and
- 1:51:03the main roster, things like you know, your champions get automatic will rumble
- 1:51:09bids, you know, zering with this draft. Have some open have open
- 1:51:14dedicated spots to n XT call ups and make it public. Don't just try
- 1:51:18to do it as like a surprise thing like in this next pick, Holy
- 1:51:23crap, somebody from NXC, like, No, make it known beforehand that
- 1:51:27this is something that's going to happen. You know, you get your Survivor
- 1:51:30series coming up or something like that. You know, plan something around,
- 1:51:33have something planned around that, you know, if it involves an XC or
- 1:51:41or whoever you know, say you have a you know, there's been talk
- 1:51:45of um. In addition to all this changing that's going to happen with this
- 1:51:50draft, there's also been talk of potential new championships being introduced. I am
- 1:52:00crossing my fingers and quietly praying that they are women's mid card titles. I'm
- 1:52:02still holding onto that. But suppose you do. Suppose that is the case,
- 1:52:08Like you know, we're introducing women's Intercontinental Championships on Raw and SmackDown,
- 1:52:13and they'll be held with a tournament. You know, have a slot in
- 1:52:17the tournament, go to an NXT person or have it or or something else
- 1:52:25of that nature. Or if you want to have an overall just a single
- 1:52:29you know, integration, like say they're planning to integrate, to not integrate,
- 1:52:32but do you consolidate the women's titles like with between Ria and Bianca's title
- 1:52:41things like that is what I'm talking about in terms of that loose planning.
- 1:52:46And obviously, yeah, you can have a plan like you know, we're
- 1:52:49planning on having Bianca versus Rea Ripley at SummerSlam to uh, you know,
- 1:52:55unify the women's title into a single belt. But okay, Rea tore acl
- 1:53:00in July. Now we gotta pivot. You can still do the unification thing,
- 1:53:05it just might not be between RHA and Bianca. Maybe you turn on
- 1:53:11the diamond. Now we got a whold a tournament for the SmackDown Women's Championship,
- 1:53:15and that person takes on Bianca for the unified whatever, there's still that
- 1:53:18you can still have that fluidity, but still have some sort of larger framework
- 1:53:24of how these things operate and some larger ideas that you want to execute while
- 1:53:30still giving yourself the fluidity. Is obviously pivot depending on injury, crowd reaction
- 1:53:36or this, that and the third. That's the only thing I was just
- 1:53:39throwing out there. Okay, do you guys want to bring up anything else
- 1:53:46about pass drafts? I mean, think of some crazy draft picks. Do
- 1:53:53you guys remember when Curt Angle was drafted to ECW. That's a fucking crazy
- 1:54:00draft pick. U Also, fun fact, the ECW champion has been drafted
- 1:54:06to Monday Night Raw twice in WW history, and also for a short amount
- 1:54:14of times. Championship what's that was lastly one of them. Yeah. The
- 1:54:20United States Championship was also briefly became exclusive to ECW during the two thousand and
- 1:54:27eight draft. But yeah, yeah, lastly was the ECW champion. Yeah.
- 1:54:34Uh, let's that was a terrible title and the way that title ended
- 1:54:40that run. But yeah, I always thought too, like when when they
- 1:54:45draft the Kurt Angle to ECW, I'm like, uh, fucking exqueeze me,
- 1:54:51what did you just say? Kurt Angle being drafted to ECW. I
- 1:54:56get it, it was probably to try to elevate ECW, but uh,
- 1:55:00I think after that maybe he had after that his few of Shawn Michaels and
- 1:55:05then he left for a while. That's when he went and did his Impact
- 1:55:09wrestling bit. So you know that's kind of when he was on the down
- 1:55:13on his right well WW career. Uh you know John Cena coming back to
- 1:55:21going to RAW that was a huge deal, you know, and like we
- 1:55:26did mentioned like Batista being drafted to SmackDown, that was pretty big deal.
- 1:55:30Uh actually uh sorry sorry? Uh did actually appear in ECW before he ever
- 1:55:40appeared uh for WWE. Really he was Um, I think he did an
- 1:55:49in ring promo in ec WO. Uh. I don't remember who he was
- 1:55:57with. I want to say Tazz, but uh that kind of led him
- 1:56:03to the WWE because he did not enjoy his brief brief time in ECW.
- 1:56:12Yeah, because he was a Pittsburgh guy. ECW was Philly thing. H
- 1:56:16yeah, yeah, that's how he ended up. He had I think he
- 1:56:19I think he only appeared once. He did a promo and uh he hated
- 1:56:25it and he went to WWE and arrest. As they say, is history
- 1:56:31exactly. Uh, any other memorable draft moment you guys have, I mean
- 1:56:38I have brought up a bunch, you know, uh with the red and
- 1:56:43the blue shirts. Uh, some classic matches we've had, Uh, classic
- 1:56:48you know, drafts that will never be forgotten. Is there any that you
- 1:56:51guys can pick out? Do you remember? I'm not sure super a memorable
- 1:57:00drafted. The draft overall, it's never really been a super mememorable thing.
- 1:57:03And I mean it's kind of been more gimmicky than anything over the passing,
- 1:57:10I mean outside it was a novel concept at the beginning when they did the
- 1:57:15whole idea of the brand split thing, but over the years after that it
- 1:57:17just kind of became gimmicky. So there, I don't know if there was
- 1:57:23ever anything noteworthy. Like I said, some of the things that you brought
- 1:57:26up have been were done really cheesy, like Triple being drafted to SmackDown and
- 1:57:30then back to roll trily thereafter, or back to raw in the same night.
- 1:57:35It's just kind of been They've done something cheesy or gimmicky to try to
- 1:57:42get a reaction out of somebody, and then a lot of the other things
- 1:57:45have been virtually inconsequential. I think the and I think the only thing,
- 1:57:49the only reason why there's really in the interest in this year's draft is because
- 1:57:55of Triple H. And people are holding out faith that Triple H is going
- 1:58:00to actually do something of real substance and consequence, and the fact that he
- 1:58:06is already thrown out the idea that everybody on the roster is eligible. People
- 1:58:14are hoping that he actually delivers on that, and that Vince Man sits his
- 1:58:17asset down somewhere and shust the funk up and let's Triple H to its thing.
- 1:58:24It doesn't try to drafted onto a rocket heading towards the sun. Elon
- 1:58:30must rocket, because that one just blew up today. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:58:33I mean, there's been the the some I saw a I'll stressed this a
- 1:58:41rumor, a speculative rumor that the Triple H. The quote Triple H era
- 1:58:47will truly begin after this draft, like basically saying as if basically like the
- 1:58:54last you know, six to eight months or whatever, that Triple H has
- 1:58:58been doing the writing, it's basically been pregame and that he's really going to
- 1:59:01put his imprint on to WW and the roster and creative with this draft and
- 1:59:09some of the changes that he makes and stuff like that. So again,
- 1:59:13this is this is something that people are Again this is all resting on Triple
- 1:59:20H really as far as people's interests and investment, and you know, some
- 1:59:27of the goodwill that he's built up over the last couple of years. Over
- 1:59:30the last few months has been a bit shaken post WrestleMania with Vince's return and
- 1:59:34some of the things that have played out on television and a lot of speculation
- 1:59:39that Vince is starting to have his hand and think putting his hand back in
- 1:59:42the cookie jar. And this this draft could go a long way towards either
- 1:59:49restoring that faith with the audience or truly damaging it. Yeah, plays out
- 1:59:58that gets the freedom that he deserves and that you know, Vince doesn't come
- 2:00:04back and is like I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it
- 2:00:09any further. Yes, but I mean, let's if let's let's let's picture
- 2:00:20ourselves as uh, let's say teenagers. Right. Would you guys ever believe
- 2:00:26if I told you that d X would be running the company in twenty twenty
- 2:00:30three, they'd been making the big decisions. I'd be like, oh,
- 2:00:32yeah, Sean Michael's and Triple HS, you're gonna be running things, running
- 2:00:35an XT, running Brawl and SmackDown. You'd be like, no fucking way,
- 2:00:41no way d X would ever be running it. But guess what they
- 2:00:45do well back then? No, yeah, absolutely not back then. Back
- 2:00:50then, there you know the dirt. The internet wrestling community wasn't at least
- 2:00:56in my teenage years, they internet wrestling community wasn't so much of a thing.
- 2:01:00You know, you pretty much got your news from actual magazines and stuff
- 2:01:04like that. You know, there weren't there weren't these internet chat rooms and
- 2:01:10dirty's like that. We didn't have as much access to backstage or inside information
- 2:01:15in my teenage years, you know, the mid to late nineties. So
- 2:01:19no, we just took the storylines for what they were and we either liked
- 2:01:23him where we didn't like them. We had no concept of the click back.
- 2:01:28Then, well, with that, let's wrap up and roll into some
- 2:01:36news. Good news everyone, I have a lot of news. So if
- 2:01:53anybody's been hearing some things and rumbling about Goldberg, Goldberg recently has said Vince
- 2:02:00McMahon and I had a handshake understanding that after the Roman Reigns match that I
- 2:02:06would have a proper retirement match. But Ringside News reached out to confirm the
- 2:02:14story about Goldberg, we were told that nobody in WW is talking about Goldberg
- 2:02:18in a creative sense. We previously reported that Goldberg is not happy about the
- 2:02:24state of his retirement match. He is not very happy that WWE isn't going
- 2:02:28to give him the match that he wants. We were also told We were
- 2:02:31also told that word is going around that WW that Goldberg may might be going
- 2:02:39to aw and the story is also known that he might do his own self
- 2:02:43promoted retirement tour. At this point, no one in WW is talking about
- 2:02:48Goldberg and a creative sense. You know, he's just getting older and older.
- 2:02:56I don't, I don't, I don't know, I could really care,
- 2:02:59Like if Goldberg comes back, uh, you know, you're only as
- 2:03:02good as your last match, and his last few matches have not been good.
- 2:03:06Well, we didn't talk about this a couple of weeks ago, but
- 2:03:13back to EWS trying to sell out Wembley State trying to sell out eighty thousand
- 2:03:17and ninety thousand seeds at Wembley Stadium, and uh, you know, Goldberg's
- 2:03:23retirement match. Uh, might be a pretty nice thing to put on a
- 2:03:28card like that. You know, I don't think that's off the table,
- 2:03:31But I mean, does he fucking deserve that? I mean, he hit
- 2:03:36that great little run his first run, you know, the undefeated quote unquote
- 2:03:42undefeated streak uh through to beating Hogan at the Georgia Dome, Right, but
- 2:03:49like after that, he ended Brett's heart, He ended one of the greatest
- 2:03:54of all times Korea. He ended up Bret Harte's career. Uh. And
- 2:03:59like what has he ever done? You know? Like I mean, I
- 2:04:04guess he's a Hall of Famer or whatever. He's all, you know,
- 2:04:08but like he's just he was just there for you know, for my money.
- 2:04:14Anyway. I mean, I don't know that he deserves this whole you
- 2:04:16know, pomp and circumstance upon his retirement. I feel like he never really
- 2:04:21gave a shit about it anyway. You know, like Rick Flair lived and
- 2:04:27breathed and bled and you know professional wrestling. So if that guy wants to
- 2:04:32have seven retirement matches that spanned or Terry Funk, you know, wants to
- 2:04:39have a hundred retirement matches that spanned seven decades, whatever, let him have
- 2:04:43it. But this Goldberg, he's not He's not that, He's not that,
- 2:04:49but he is still one of the biggest names and wrestling history, whether
- 2:04:58you like him or not, or the talent aside, you can't talk about
- 2:05:02wrestling history without talking about Goldberg. You can't talk about one of the greatest
- 2:05:08eras, hold On hold On, can't talk about one of the greatest eras
- 2:05:13in wrestling history, the Monday Night Wars without talking about Goldberg. Regardless of
- 2:05:18whether he was you know, he we all know. He wasn't no Shawn
- 2:05:21Michaels in the ring. He wasn't no Ricky Steamboat in the ring. But
- 2:05:26he is still But neither was fucking Hulk Hogan, and he's still one of
- 2:05:30the biggest names and whole Cogan never got the ring brother. He was all
- 2:05:38Cogan outside of the ring, just as a personality. Bill Goldberg's Bill Goldberg
- 2:05:41outside of the ring as a personality too, Yeah, but there is no
- 2:05:45personality. There's something there because he gets work outside of the ring. Ric
- 2:05:50Flair is always he has like a knife show where like people, he still
- 2:06:00had it. He still had it. But regardlessly you go around and ask
- 2:06:06people about Goldberg. He is a known name. He is a known commodity.
- 2:06:12It doesn't matter how whether what people think of him, you know,
- 2:06:16the inside of wrestling, It doesn't matter where you have him ranked compared to
- 2:06:20the great performers and all stuff. He is still a name and that carries
- 2:06:26a lot in the wrestling business. It's the reason why Motherfucker's like Logan Paul
- 2:06:30can get dollars a pop top of dollars to go out there and rink because
- 2:06:35of their name. Before anybody ever saw him do a move, he had
- 2:06:39the name. That still means something. And Goldberg again is a significant part
- 2:06:45of wrestling history. So does he deserve Like am I saying that everybody needs
- 2:06:51to bow down at the altar of Goldberg for his retirement? No, I'm
- 2:06:55not necessarily saying that if he does a retirement tour. I don't give two
- 2:06:58shits about that if he jumps AW, okay, would depend on who.
- 2:07:03For I don't know that him jump into a w for a retirement match is
- 2:07:06gonna be worth a damn unless it's with somebody that he had already already has
- 2:07:12some sort of history with. He'd have to have like a retirement match would
- 2:07:15say a Chris Jericho, I think for it to carry any kind of weight,
- 2:07:18but it would still have the potential carry weight as you mentioned yourself in
- 2:07:23terms of aw potentially using his name to help sell out Wimbley Stadium, one
- 2:07:27of the largest stadiums in the world. So that that alone speaks to to
- 2:07:32go who Goldberg is and the and his the strength of his name. So
- 2:07:36does he deserve a retirement match? I kind of think yeah, I think
- 2:07:41I think he. I think he is deserving of a retirement match if he
- 2:07:45wants to have that now, if he wants to have it and have it
- 2:07:49matter the most and the biggest scale, then obviously he should do it in
- 2:07:53WWE. And you know, if there's one thing that I would allow Vince
- 2:07:58to step in and do, Yeah, Vince step in, smooth things over
- 2:08:01with Goldberg, get your retirement match, do it at one of the Saudi
- 2:08:05shows and then let him go off into the let him Goldberg right off in
- 2:08:09the sunset. What if he what if he was a heavy for MJF.
- 2:08:16What do you go over as an a W champion? Yeah, so anyway,
- 2:08:24a W champion and Goldberg is like what his his bodyguard or mentor bodyguard
- 2:08:30you know occasional, Uh, do anything that Goldberg could teach a m JF.
- 2:08:37No, but I mean not not in cafae not not right h But
- 2:08:43I mean obviously MJF is playing up to Judiaism hard. Uh. Goldberg obviously
- 2:08:52is a member of the tribe. I think I think there might be something
- 2:08:54there if they wanted to do that. Sure. I mean again, I
- 2:09:00think Goldberg could potentially have a decent quick run in the uh in aw sure
- 2:09:07if done right. I was just talking about it in terms of if he
- 2:09:09just went there for his retirement match. But if he actually wanted to have
- 2:09:13like a run and have like you know, sign a contract for like a
- 2:09:16year or two. Yeah, maybe he doesn't retirement match and he sticks around,
- 2:09:20right m hmm Goldberg versus m JF. You No, you have to
- 2:09:31ask Goldberg is he willing the job to MJF. No, no, no,
- 2:09:35not to get not not not not against each other with each other.
- 2:09:39No, No, I'm talking about what what Wayne said. He mentioned Goldberg
- 2:09:41versus m JF, and I'm like, no, I highly doubt Goldberg wants
- 2:09:46to lose in his retirement match. That's the thing. He's not the kind
- 2:09:50of guy that wants to go out on his back, which is what you're
- 2:09:52supposed to do right in the wrestling business. Yeah, yeah, if your
- 2:09:58job, if you're to get to lose, who are they gonna get to
- 2:10:01lose the Goldberg and Goldberg's retiring match? Like what does that do for anybody?
- 2:10:05Well, yeah, it goes. It depends on one of two ways.
- 2:10:09You you go out on your back if you're putting over somebody young,
- 2:10:13you know, but if you're just going out it comes back. That's what
- 2:10:16he should do. Well, I feel like that's not what he's going to
- 2:10:20want to do. Again. I think it depends on who it is.
- 2:10:22If it's just a retirement match, like hey, this is my last,
- 2:10:24you know, my last hurrah, then he can he can win. May
- 2:10:28mean, Rick Flair won his retirement matching even though it was a tag match,
- 2:10:31but he still won it um uh Ludha his retirement who's so called one
- 2:10:37of his retirement matches with what Shinska Knockamore? No, I think the back
- 2:10:41Knockamore won that match. He did, But I think it depends. It
- 2:10:46varies, and it depends on who the match is with. Again, I
- 2:10:50don't know that it makes sense for Goldberg to go to AW and have a
- 2:10:54retirement match putting over somebody there. I don't think that. I don't think
- 2:10:58that been if it's either party, I don't think that benefits him or benefit's
- 2:11:03a w And if he wants to go out on with a win, then
- 2:11:09he should be going out against somebody of his era or you know, a
- 2:11:16A A H. Another talent again from the same time, again, somebody
- 2:11:22like Jericho. It's probably about the only person I could see Cookberg wrestling in
- 2:11:26a retirement bash with. I don't know that. I know they have their
- 2:11:33history, but I'm just saying a name that's the only name in AW that
- 2:11:37makes sense. You're right, You're right, You're right. That's so true
- 2:11:41because I'm here racking my brain too. Who and really that could be the
- 2:11:48only person who could actually help carry that match to right. But to me
- 2:11:54though, to me the company, that's kind of true. Yeah, but
- 2:12:03honestly, get to me. The best option for Goldberg the table for taping
- 2:12:07match would be in WWE. And I know Triple Ah don't give two shits
- 2:12:11about it, Triples Like motherfucker. I'm focused on the future, an't worry
- 2:12:13about your old ass. You go do whatever you want. But this would
- 2:12:18be a place for Vince McMahon to come in and spook some things over if
- 2:12:24they wanted to do that. But I think ww is good either way.
- 2:12:28Yeah, it let's not forget about that that wonderful Saudi match you had against
- 2:12:31the Undertaker. It left a lot of emotional damnage. It definitely did.
- 2:12:39Let's move on, h okay. So, under Vince McMahon's reign of terror,
- 2:12:46WWE talent was banned from using third party companies such as Twitch. This
- 2:12:52didn't sit well with a lot of talent as it was another way for them
- 2:12:56to earn money and interact with fans. According to research reports from Full Select,
- 2:13:00WWE is now agreed to let its talent once again use the streaming platform.
- 2:13:05The reports slated stated wrestlers will be allowed to stream with almost no restrictions.
- 2:13:11One thing that will not be allowed, however, is streaming with other
- 2:13:16promotions other promotions personally without it being cleared. A three way revenue split has
- 2:13:26been agreed between Twitch, WW and the wrestler, with Twitch and the wrestler
- 2:13:31getting the majority or the vast majority, and the talent's really happy about this.
- 2:13:37So we're gonna see the likes of Selena Vega bringing back her Twitch channel
- 2:13:41AJ Styles. Back when Adam Cole was part of WWE, he also had
- 2:13:46a Twitch channel. A couple of wrestlers. I don't know if they already
- 2:13:54own well Up, Up, Down Down is part of WW so I would
- 2:13:58assume that's that's a completely separate thing with the Xavier Woods, right, So
- 2:14:05I'm just happy to see that they're allowed to do that. I don't know
- 2:14:09if they're gonna be using their actual names or because I know there was at
- 2:14:15one point they weren't allowed to use their real name or their gimmick names.
- 2:14:18They were had to use their real names, so who knows. Uh,
- 2:14:22it's just good news. I'm happy to hear that on a department where WWE
- 2:14:28has been woefully behind the times with that kind of shit and a w has
- 2:14:35certainly hum surpassed them by leaps and bounds, you know. Um, they've
- 2:14:45they've tried to do a little better that some of that, some of the
- 2:14:48Dom Ray ruining Holidays social media stuff was good. Uh, but they need
- 2:14:56to realize that that there's other ways and expanding ways, you know, for
- 2:15:05for to interact with content and characters and actors and musicians and everything and pro
- 2:15:13wrestlers, uh, you know, and it's just stupid if if they want
- 2:15:20to regulate it. I get that, you know what I mean. You
- 2:15:24have to be in character, you have to use your name, I get
- 2:15:28that, and I know whatever. But they're just they're they're just they're foolish,
- 2:15:35uh, not to allow them to do this other thing. I mean,
- 2:15:39I mean that's kind of one of the coolest things about wrestling, right
- 2:15:43Like, uh, you know, if you see Tom Cruise on the sidewalk,
- 2:15:50you don't see Maverick, you know what I mean. You see Tom
- 2:15:52Cruise, who's also been a million other things or whatever. But if you
- 2:15:54see Rick Flair, you see Rick Flair, you know what I mean,
- 2:16:00even though he isn't Rick Flair, he is Ric Flair. Uh. And
- 2:16:03it's just such a it's it's just it's such a bizarre thing that it even
- 2:16:09exists at all, you know, but they would be so they'd just be
- 2:16:13foolish to not allow them to. If they want to play video games with
- 2:16:16people, fucking let them let them, you know what I mean, Like
- 2:16:22because people who don't know them as wrestlers might bring more eyes cast a why
- 2:16:31you know, they want that's part of the logan politic, you know.
- 2:16:35They they want to cast as wide and that as possible. And and they're
- 2:16:41cutting the net in half, you know, or in a third or whatever,
- 2:16:46you know, by not including some of this other stuff. And I
- 2:16:50don't get it. You won't catch me on Twitch. I don't know what
- 2:16:52I mean. I'm not into it. But I know the next generation is
- 2:16:58you know what I mean, and next two generations, and I know that
- 2:17:03that that's what you want to keep watching, you know, right, Yeah,
- 2:17:07it's just it it's stupid not to let them do that kind of thing.
- 2:17:13Or there's so much precedent for it. Let look at going back to
- 2:17:16like Zach Ryder with the Internet or whatever, or even even up to today
- 2:17:24with like Dan Housing. He's not a great wrestler or anything, but the
- 2:17:28fucking guy gets out on social media and he's one of the most popular fucking
- 2:17:33wrestlers out, you know, because he because he's connected in the fans in
- 2:17:37a way that didn't exist in the eighties or even into the most of the
- 2:17:43nineties, you know, or even fucking so recently. Really uh where these
- 2:17:50internet Internet personality is part of it. And I and I kind of like
- 2:17:54when they continue feuds on Twitter or whatever and people bad math or whatever,
- 2:17:58that's fun and they need to do more of that, and it makes it
- 2:18:03reeler, you know, it makes it easier to suspend disbelief when you see
- 2:18:09somebody commenting on, oh I saw this really great movie blah blah blah,
- 2:18:11and the person they're feuding with comments like, you're an idiot if you let
- 2:18:16that or what you know, whatever it is. Yeah, that's just makes
- 2:18:20feel more more visceral. I'm sure what they banned, uh you know,
- 2:18:26Twitch from these other wrestlers, I'm sure they've they've realized it was at this
- 2:18:33moment that he knew he fucked up. Yeah, yeah, so I think
- 2:18:37it was a wise decision to make an agreement with Twitch, make agreement with
- 2:18:41the wrestlers and make everybody fucking happy. And I'm pretty sure Triples probably had
- 2:18:46a big part in that too. And there's money to be made for everyone,
- 2:18:50you know, that's another thing. Fine, use your use your gimmick
- 2:18:54name, use your gimmick license, give us twenty percent or whatever it is.
- 2:18:58You know, like everybody makes money, you know, like it's just
- 2:19:03so supernato. Yeah, I mean, and in this day and age,
- 2:19:07like you said, they have been, ww's been woefully behind the times and
- 2:19:11not recognizing that they're superstars, are brands unto themselves. Not just you don't
- 2:19:18completely own these people the way you did back in the day. Not in
- 2:19:22this not in this Internet age, not in this age of social media where
- 2:19:26you know, one of your one of the most popular people on the WW
- 2:19:33roster outside of it, outside of their main roster, is Nikita Lyons,
- 2:19:39who has a huge following on Instagram. Not just because not because she's being
- 2:19:46featured on NXT every week, or not because she's you know, winning a
- 2:19:50championship. No, it's because, quite frankly, on Instagram, she's a
- 2:19:56fucking thirst trap. And I don't mean to say that. I don't mean
- 2:19:58to say that in a disparaging way. But as attractive as she is,
- 2:20:03she garners a huge social media following, just like Jay Cargill does in aw
- 2:20:09They have these huge social media followings. And for you to sit here and
- 2:20:13try to limit your superstars from being able to branch out outside of you,
- 2:20:20or for you to want to completely own and monopolize everything that they do,
- 2:20:26you're, like you said, You're only hurting yourself. Allow these people to
- 2:20:31be who they are, Allow them to interact with their fans in more natural
- 2:20:35and organic ways through things like Twitch and such. Allow these people to fully
- 2:20:39be who they are so that they can reach an audience that you, quite
- 2:20:43frankly will not be able to reach through just raw and SmackDown and pls.
- 2:20:50Let them reach other fans and then draw those fans into your product. People
- 2:20:56like Zelina Vega has been able to has a pretty strong following in the nerd
- 2:21:03community because of her being such a huge nerd and her having crossover opportunities through
- 2:21:09her her being a huge anime fan, and her doing the cosplay that she
- 2:21:15does with some of her wrestling attire. Where she showed up to at the
- 2:21:22World Run With this year where she was dressed as the street Fighter character jury,
- 2:21:24and now she's being featured in street Fighter six. I think she's getting
- 2:21:30it. She's got a voice role in that where she's gonna be like one
- 2:21:31of the so called announcers I believe in street Fighter six, and it's that
- 2:21:37level of crossover that boosts that. Yes, it helps her individually as a
- 2:21:41brand, but that's some of that is also going to bleed over to WWE
- 2:21:46because people are gonna see her and they're gonna know, oh, that's WWE
- 2:21:50Superstars Lena Vega. It's kind of like the old saying, a rising tide
- 2:21:54lifts all all ships. The more you allow these people to branch outside of
- 2:21:58you and experience success outside of just raw SmackDown to pls, the more that
- 2:22:09will eventually come back home to you. And it doesn't hurt to allow these
- 2:22:15people to, you know, to make money outside of you. Maybe they'll
- 2:22:20be more they'll be less disgruntled. Maybe when you end up doing something that
- 2:22:26they may not like because they're not as reliant on you, they may be
- 2:22:30more willing to put up with some other things that you do because like,
- 2:22:33hey, I have more I have freedom here. I can do these things
- 2:22:35even if I'm not being featured on TV at the moment, I can.
- 2:22:39You know, I still got my other ventures in that I can be involved
- 2:22:45in. And you know, unfortunately, professional wrestlers don't have a union,
- 2:22:50so their their bargaining power is very much limited. And think for a long
- 2:22:58time this is one of the areas where it's hurt them because if professional wrestlers
- 2:23:03did have a union, then you know, some shit like what ww polled
- 2:23:09years ago when they banned their superstars from Twitch would have never happened because they
- 2:23:13would have had the power of a union to you know, nix that in
- 2:23:18the butt or you know, they'd have the ability to collectively bargain and negotiate
- 2:23:22things like this rather than just relying on the good graces of WWE management.
- 2:23:33Well, guys, things evolved too, you know, like you look just
- 2:23:39you know, watch a match from WrestleMania whatever three or whatever. You know,
- 2:23:46just the entire presentation is completely different almost and as much as it's still
- 2:23:50too people pretending to fight in front of an audience, it's totally different.
- 2:23:54The whole way it's done is different. And you know, and now you
- 2:24:01know, in as much as we see angles bleeding out into the Internet,
- 2:24:05into the social media's or whatever. Also, characters like like Hulk Hogan is
- 2:24:11a two dimensional character, you know what I mean. You see him on
- 2:24:15TV, you see him in person. He's big, he's he does one
- 2:24:18thing. He is Hulk Hogan. That's all he does. Now he's in
- 2:24:24to see in a third and fourth and fifth mentioned where you can interact with
- 2:24:28these people on social media. You can maybe play video games with them on
- 2:24:33Twitch or whatever it is. Uh, it's a whole different concept of and
- 2:24:41you and you kind of feel like maybe I kind of know the real person,
- 2:24:46not just the character. Whereas you know, we didn't know shit about
- 2:24:50the undertake car, you know what I mean, right right back and back
- 2:24:56in the day, like you said, Hulk Hogan was Hulk Hogan. That
- 2:24:58was it. That's all we saw, That's all we knew of. Nowadays,
- 2:25:01we know that these people exist outside of Wwe we know that these are
- 2:25:07real people with real lives. And it's not only is it just a whole
- 2:25:13different dimension to the whole, the whole thing, the whole, the entirety
- 2:25:18that is a professional wrestling, Uh. But I mean it's a it's a
- 2:25:24it's adds to the character work, but it's it's just more opportunity to make
- 2:25:28money and more revenues, you know, more streams, And it just baffles
- 2:25:33me that they don't want to do that, right, And it's it's ways
- 2:25:37for you to find your next suit and allowing these people to exist outside of
- 2:25:41just the WWE product on television gives you another way to find your next superstars
- 2:25:48without relying just on what happens on television. Again, there there are there
- 2:25:54you can again people like Zelina Vega or Nikita Lions and such like that.
- 2:26:01They're able to build up followings outside of the WWE product that in turn can
- 2:26:09translate back to the product on television eventually. But like that, I allow
- 2:26:16them them. For you to put limits on these people and what they can
- 2:26:20do, you're putting shackles on your own product in a way. Well,
- 2:26:24now, now, the entirety of the whole business, the whole way the
- 2:26:28whole business works, is totally different. You know. Back in the day,
- 2:26:33the entirety of the thing was to sell out Madison Square of Garden once
- 2:26:39a month, right, and then then it progressed to like, uh,
- 2:26:43oh, make you buy the pay per view four times a year. Uh
- 2:26:46And then it progressed Jesus Christ. The content blow up came, but um,
- 2:27:01I totally forgot. Yeah. I mean, I'm always gonna side with
- 2:27:07the with the players over management. Yeahs. So you know, anything that's
- 2:27:13gonna benefit for the ww superstars, and it helped them monetize themselves outside of
- 2:27:20just relying on a w W paycheck. I'm all four mm hmm. I
- 2:27:28can't remember when I was going a few more things for news. I'm just
- 2:27:33gonna rapid fire some of these, um because then maybe not like talk discussions.
- 2:27:39Chris Strates reveals that she fought through a partial hamstring tear at wrestleman Any
- 2:27:43thirty nine. While speaking on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, WW
- 2:27:48Hall of Famer Chris Strates revealed that she worked at the six man or six
- 2:27:52woman tag match at wrestlem A thirty nine injured. She said, I had
- 2:27:56a few obstacles, a partially torn hamstring. By the way, nobody knew
- 2:28:01about it. It was just like WrestleMania. Let's just go. Uh.
- 2:28:07WWE breaks record with SummerSlam ticket sales, according to a report from Sports Business
- 2:28:13Journal, where thirty two thousand tickets have already been sold for SummerSlam. This
- 2:28:18is now the largest day one sale for the stadium event outside of WrestleMania in
- 2:28:24the company's history. That's good to hear. It's really good to hear.
- 2:28:28Update. Major update in Roman Reigins booking. We haven't seen Roman Rains in
- 2:28:33a hot minute. Current WWE booking plans call for the Undispeed Universal Champion Roman
- 2:28:39Rains to skip back last twenty twenty three, with his next title scheduled or
- 2:28:48defense scheduled for twenty seventh of May, the Night of Champions event instead.
- 2:28:56A thousandth day. Yep, ye, one thousand, yep. He's gonna
- 2:29:01defends whoever he's gonna face. He's gonna beat. He'll still be the champion.
- 2:29:05WWE planning. Oh go ahead, Oh no, that was it,
- 2:29:09just hell. He'll wrestle that day, He'll be to wherever he's facing,
- 2:29:13and he'll still be champion. Big whoop. Yeah. WWE planning heel turn
- 2:29:18for SmackDown Superstars. During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explaining that Madcap
- 2:29:24Moss is on his way to for a heel turn. This is interesting because
- 2:29:28Emma is already playing the part of a heel on the roster as she leads
- 2:29:31him to the ring. Update on Becky Lynch's contract status uncertain for the WW
- 2:29:39future. Becky Lynch didn't appear on last night's episode of Raw and actually tweet
- 2:29:45apt before the show letting fans know fight Fightful. Select have now been able
- 2:29:50to provide an update regarding the current contract situation. Lynch has not renewed or
- 2:29:56signed a new contract with her existing on track up in June twenty twenty four.
- 2:30:03Uh, I feel like that's maybe all I have. Update on King
- 2:30:09of the Ring King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. According to p W
- 2:30:13Insider Elite, WW has yet to decide on if the King of the Ring
- 2:30:18and Queen of the Ring is still take place at Night of Champions, but
- 2:30:22on one source thought it was less likely with the tournament possibly being slotted in
- 2:30:28for after the upcoming WW draft. Nothing is set in stone yet, speaking
- 2:30:35of many prediction go for it, Bold, just fuck do it? The
- 2:30:41Uzos are facing Ko and Sammy Zane for the titles. Yeah right? When
- 2:30:50does that happen? Uh SmackDown? Or is that raw supposed to be?
- 2:30:56I think it's supposed to be A yeah. I don't either SmackDown a row.
- 2:30:58It's not even a man on a payview. This is my affection.
- 2:31:05I think I know what it is. The users are going to win the
- 2:31:07titles because because ahead, yeah Sammy Zane doesn't appear in Saudi Arabia and it's
- 2:31:18Night of Champions and you have to have all the championships defended. Yeah,
- 2:31:24I've heard that speculation too, you know, with them being Tag Champions and
- 2:31:28supposed lead them switching the Saudi show to being Nighter Champions, and the general
- 2:31:31concept behind Night of Champions is that every title is defended. How are you
- 2:31:37going to defend the tag titles with two superstars holding the belts who don't appear
- 2:31:41at Saudi shows. So yeah, a lot of people have speculated that they're
- 2:31:45going to drop the belts somehow before that show, which I will say would
- 2:31:52be very disappointing if you went through all of this, it did all this
- 2:31:58work of building them up, just for them to drop the belts not even
- 2:32:05three months later, like that guy that screams like old nineties booking where titles
- 2:32:11just jumped all over the place all the damn time. I would be rather
- 2:32:15disappointing. But at the same time, and less, Sammy Zane and Kevin
- 2:32:20Owens have drastically changed their stance on things, which I we don't have any
- 2:32:26reason to believe that they have, yeah, and we I don't see how
- 2:32:31they go down that route and less again, either they write in some sort
- 2:32:37of injury angle to write them out of actions, or they can't defend the
- 2:32:43titles, or if they just somehow renigg on the concept of Night of Champions
- 2:32:48and they defend and all the belts are on the line except the text,
- 2:32:54that's certainly within the realm of posibility, that would not be unprecedented for uh,
- 2:33:01for WW to just I don't yeah, because I just don't think yeah,
- 2:33:05I don't think they want to take the titles off of KO and Sammy's
- 2:33:07saying that quickly, and especially not to just put them right back onto USOS
- 2:33:13because you because then you're you're right back in the same rut that you were
- 2:33:18in going into wrestle media times, being monopolized by the same people all over
- 2:33:22again. Now you got to do the whole work all over again of trying
- 2:33:26to build up another team to take the titles off the USOS. And I
- 2:33:31am one of my one of my potential draft picks. And I don't know
- 2:33:33if this fixes the problem or not, but uh, since you have the
- 2:33:39unified tag team champions and one as a raw guy and one is the SmackDown
- 2:33:43guy, I actually had them splitting them up and one having to take one
- 2:33:48title and finding a new partner, and the other one having to take the
- 2:33:52one title and finding a new partner on their own shows, whichever it is.
- 2:33:56If it I think, I guess it would go Sammy to Raw and
- 2:34:00to SmackDown. Now, didn't we just that would be a way to maybe
- 2:34:05get around that, and maybe you only have one of the tag titles defended,
- 2:34:11or you have some kind of tournament to figure out who the new partner
- 2:34:15is going to be until you don't need to have Sammy's ain't there in person.
- 2:34:22But that's a stretch, that's a big stretch, because didn't we just
- 2:34:26didn't we just uh rent in our discord about how we didn't like trick Stratus
- 2:34:35just being a tag team champion and a match just without having actually win the
- 2:34:41belt but she's fighting to defend it, and how they did that as well.
- 2:34:46Yeah, just went off about that. But now we're just gonna split
- 2:34:50the bells and like, go find a partner and they're the new champion and
- 2:34:54hold a tournament to be a one half of a tag champion, like,
- 2:34:58and we just rail against how the women's tag team divisions just a bunch of
- 2:35:01random people thrown the fuck together. But now we're gonna double down on it
- 2:35:05with the raud SmackDown. You got me, That's why I didn't make the
- 2:35:11final cut. That's why it was. That's why that idea he hit the
- 2:35:16count the cutting room flo even though I didn't say that lout anyway. Well,
- 2:35:22did you guys have any other news you want to put in? That's
- 2:35:24all I got. Nope, nope, I think that's pretty much only things
- 2:35:30of substance that you know. When we were talking about the judgment day,
- 2:35:33I meant to say, do you hear about how Finn Balor apparently has like
- 2:35:37a second degree tearor of his calf or something brutal ass injury and he and
- 2:35:45he did that hell in the Seal match anyway, and then he was or
- 2:35:48he was involved in wrestling a Night one, then he did that hell in
- 2:35:52the Seal match, and then he's been on Raw every week. It's just
- 2:35:58like Jesus fucking nice dude, I got four staples. Yeah, well,
- 2:36:05that would explain why he hasn't been wrestling much in why it's been Domin Damien
- 2:36:09doing most of the wrestling since WrestleMania. Yeah. Yeah, But the fact
- 2:36:13that he's even out there at all, it's like, God, damn,
- 2:36:16how are you walking without a limp? You know? Trade? Do you
- 2:36:20have anything you want to plug? Uh? Nothing of note, y'all can
- 2:36:26just find me in the discord Outlaw Star Doyle and you want to plug.
- 2:36:33Yeah, you know, I'm I'm in the discord. But I would like
- 2:36:35to say go bees, go Seas and get well, saying nick I.
- 2:36:43Right before we go, I just want to kind of announce some news.
- 2:36:46The past few days, I've been working with somebody on making a website for
- 2:36:52us. So within the next maybe two weeks, we'll have a website for
- 2:36:58podcasts where fully we can put all the links in there. All the episodes
- 2:37:03will be on there for people who don't know if they can get it on
- 2:37:09Spotify or Apple or wherever they want to download. All the links will be
- 2:37:11there. I'm also going to see about getting a link for the discord also
- 2:37:16a question section, So you guys can write in questions to the podcast and
- 2:37:22then we'll have a section. Well, we'll answer some of them, and
- 2:37:26then if you haven't leave a review, let's get some reviews done if you
- 2:37:31haven't yet. Yeah, and if you need to reach me anywhere, just
- 2:37:35to semi dry Chicken, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, and I
- 2:37:41get to keep all my own ad revenue for Twitch. It's nothing, but
- 2:37:46if there was, I'd be able to keep it. I won't have to
- 2:37:48split it with Vince McMahon. Yeah, Dre got something for you. Your
- 2:37:58name out of out of your mouth and his name is John. Do what
- 2:38:05I want, get me what I Watch's true, it's it doesn't matter what
- 2:38:18your name. Oh yeah, let's screw you guys. I'm going home by
- 2:38:43half A great time
