- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's talk about the top five overhyped stocks.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'll put yours over there. I see you got a paper.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I don't want to look at yours. I have to
- 0:08Speaker 2: put pen to pad today. What you got?
- 0:13Speaker 3: I like the company and I like the leadership, but
- 0:16Speaker 3: I think the valuation is off.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Number one, I'm going to start with Oracle. Okay.
- 0:23Speaker 3: The credit default bond issue is a real one. Do
- 0:26Speaker 3: I think they'll protect it? Now, this is the only
- 0:29Speaker 3: story that kind of reminds me of 2008 with the
- 0:31Speaker 3: rating agencies kind of skewing things so it doesn't go under.
- 0:35Speaker 3: And I don't want the company to go under because
- 0:38Speaker 3: it will lead to a collapse and a succession of
- 0:41Speaker 3: events that will negatively affect America. But I think the
- 0:44Speaker 3: valuation was too high, and I think the market has
- 0:46Speaker 3: reflected that.
- 0:47Speaker 2: That's number one. Number two, I like the entrepreneur. I
- 0:50Speaker 2: like the business strategy.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'm trying not to ruin any relationships for us going forward.
- 0:56Speaker 2: But micro-strategy.
- 0:58Speaker 3: OK, they're going to be where there's a conversation about
- 1:01Speaker 3: if they should be removed from the index. I think
- 1:04Speaker 3: there's tremendous value there. And I'll keep saying it. There
- 1:07Speaker 3: is a concerted effort to not let Michael Saylor control.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Bitcoin and be the lead face of it by. Entities
- 1:17Speaker 3: around the world. So that's number two. And a getting
- 1:20Speaker 3: rich relationship part, you have to know who to not
- 1:23Speaker 3: piss off.
- 1:24Speaker 2: So you don't end up on a blackball list. He's
- 1:26Speaker 2: currently on there. Number three, QBTS. Ah, okay. I love Quantum.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I love all the executives there.
- 1:38Speaker 3: But remember when y'all were screaming at me last year
- 1:40Speaker 3: about Quantum and you.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Don't understand the technology. I don't understand it.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Where are you D-Wave Quantum babies at now? Google will
- 1:49Speaker 3: be your main competitor if it's value. Number four, Rigetti.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Ah, okay. Now we got one that matches. spaghetti i
- 1:56Speaker 2: think has an amazing promise and premise of the future
- 2:00Speaker 2: but it's not delivering this year and i don't think
- 2:01Speaker 2: it will next year either and uh final ticker is
- 2:05Speaker 2: oklo oh overrated overhyped okay um you think overrated you
- 2:16Speaker 2: can name 25 other companies that are better.
- 2:21Speaker 4: They're so niche that it's tough for me to say
- 2:24Speaker 4: overrated just yet.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'm not going to knock yours. I understand why you
- 2:28Speaker 2: said it.
- 2:28Speaker 4: But when we're talking about expedited power and we're talking
- 2:33Speaker 4: about nuclear power.
- 2:35Speaker 3: I don't think they'll be the one, though. They'll be
- 2:38Speaker 3: maybe second or third. And this goes into the selection process.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Not every company who makes it is solely because... They
- 2:50Speaker 3: were the best product. They had the best funding. A
- 2:52Speaker 3: lot of these companies are selected to be the leader
- 2:55Speaker 3: over the next 10 years. I just wonder if they
- 2:57Speaker 3: won't be selected over the next five to 10.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Okay. What about you?
- 3:01Speaker 4: So I have Rigetti on there, but I'm going to
- 3:03Speaker 4: have some. Now, I don't think that they don't necessarily
- 3:06Speaker 4: have to be bad companies. I think they're overhyped.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And overrated. Yeah. My first one is IONQ. Listen, I
- 3:14Speaker 2: thought about it, but I ain't want to double down.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Yes.
- 3:18Speaker 4: That doesn't mean that it's a bad company. That doesn't
- 3:20Speaker 4: mean that Quantum won't play a role in the future.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It will in the future. It just won't be playing
- 3:24Speaker 2: in the near future. Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 4: And I think you're right. I think you're spot on
- 3:28Speaker 4: in terms of where Google's at in terms of Quantum.
- 3:31Speaker 4: So that's number one. Number two might be a surprise.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I think Tesla is on my list. Overhyped and overrated.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Dottie, what you got to say to that? For.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Again, I just have a tough time, especially like I'm
- 3:46Speaker 4: reading every day, every single day I read. I just
- 3:48Speaker 4: have a tough time finding a company that its technicals
- 3:53Speaker 4: and its fundamentals don't match. And he doesn't love that company.
- 3:57Speaker 4: And year after year, it's the same thing. And it's
- 4:01Speaker 4: not cars. And eventually, I think next year we'll see
- 4:05Speaker 4: a merger. But presently, as constructed, I'm just like.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I told y'all three years ago, he doesn't love that company.
- 4:12Speaker 2: he's going to be chairman and leave Dustin. So I agree.
- 4:15Speaker 2: So number four is Alibaba.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 2: You know what? Every control.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Every time I think that, okay, Alibaba is going to,
- 4:26Speaker 4: it's going to have a turn here.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I mean, it's, it's, it's had some down years. Let's
- 4:30Speaker 2: just say that. Right.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Every time I think it's, this is going to be
- 4:33Speaker 4: the year or this is going to be the innovation. Oh,
- 4:35Speaker 4: they're like a cloud business. oh, they're going to play
- 4:38Speaker 4: a part in the AI story for China. It's just
- 4:42Speaker 4: like the stock just never rewards you for putting it
- 4:46Speaker 4: on your watch list or some people having their portfolio. Now,
- 4:50Speaker 4: can that change? I just don't... Which one are they?
- 4:55Speaker 4: Are they the Amazon or are they the Google or
- 4:57Speaker 4: are they a hybrid of both for the Chinese economy?
- 4:59Speaker 4: He's another person that got blacklisted.
- 5:02Speaker 2: True. So that was for....
- 5:07Speaker 4: Almost um yeah i had those are my four those
- 5:14Speaker 4: are my four i was i had a fifth one
- 5:16Speaker 4: i was like you know what let's just hold off
- 5:19Speaker 4: because you know you never know because you never know but.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah i think overhyped.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Doesn't necessarily mean bad company yeah it's just evaluation.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Just just a bit over i okay i'll just say
- 5:31Speaker 4: palantir was my number five that's a hot okay.
- 5:36Speaker 2: What about you? Valuation is just out of control. Doesn't
- 5:39Speaker 2: mean bad company.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You got to start looking at Netflix.
- 5:42Speaker 2: That's a good thing.
- 5:43Speaker 5: You got to start looking at Netflix as far as that,
- 5:47Speaker 5: you know, Mag7 and all that.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Mag7 did?
- 5:54Speaker 5: No, they're not Mag7. No, but I'm saying they lumped in.
- 5:58Speaker 5: They lumped in with that elite level of tech companies.
- 6:02Speaker 5: I mean, they distribute content. Now, you could say Meta
- 6:07Speaker 5: is not vitally excessive either, but I would say Meta
- 6:09Speaker 5: is a communication company and a media company. So Meta,
- 6:12Speaker 5: to me, is an essential business. Oh, Meta's going to
- 6:16Speaker 5: be fine. You got them on your list? No, I'm
- 6:19Speaker 5: saying Netflix is not an essential business.
- 6:23Speaker 3: No.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Nobody needs to have Netflix.
- 6:25Speaker 2: And the cost of acquisition for the content is huge.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 6:29Speaker 5: It's too thin. Their profit margins are too thin. They're
- 6:31Speaker 5: paying too much. And they got a bunch of competitors.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah, YouTube.
- 6:35Speaker 1: They can't compete with YouTube. They're trying anything. Now they're
- 6:37Speaker 1: trying podcasts.
- 6:39Speaker 2: They are.
- 6:40Speaker 1: They're saying the music, they're going to become the record label.
- 6:43Speaker 2: The cost acquisition thing is very scary. And I could
- 6:46Speaker 2: have miscalculated this. Correct me.
- 6:50Speaker 4: I thought the live sports would play a bigger role.
- 6:52Speaker 4: And it's not happening. They have slowed down on acquisition
- 6:56Speaker 4: of content. but they are still paying a lot to
- 6:59Speaker 4: produce content. So I'm not mad at that choice. What
- 7:03Speaker 4: else you got?
- 7:07Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a fire one. Yeah, that's the first one
- 7:10Speaker 5: that comes to my mind. Because like you said, when
- 7:12Speaker 5: you think about Fang, what do you have?
- 7:13Speaker 1: You have Facebook.
- 7:15Speaker 4: It wasn't there. NVIDIA was there. No, no, Netflix was there. Well,
- 7:19Speaker 4: Facebook at the time. Apple, Amazon, NVIDIA, and Google. I thought,
- 7:25Speaker 4: is it not Netflix? No, their valuation's not high enough.
- 7:28Speaker 1: But at that time.
- 7:29Speaker 2: At that time.
- 7:29Speaker 1: At that time.
- 7:30Speaker 2: It could have been.
- 7:30Speaker 4: We tried to make an acronym. That was before the
- 7:32Speaker 4: NVIDIA run. It could have been an acronym with them.
- 7:35Speaker 4: But NVIDIA definitely was the end.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I don't know. I think it was Netflix.
- 7:39Speaker 2: People was calling me crazy at the time for putting
- 7:41Speaker 2: NVIDIA in. Then we had to change it when Facebook became. Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix,
- 7:46Speaker 2: and Google.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it was Netflix.
- 7:48Speaker 2: It wasn't NVIDIA?
- 7:49Speaker 1: It was before the NVIDIA.
- 7:50Speaker 3: People was calling me crazy if he'd been saying that
- 7:52Speaker 3: it should replace Meta.
- 7:54Speaker 2: But the N got replaced. Yeah.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Because that's before NVIDIA started to go crazy.
- 7:59Speaker 5: So Netflix was a staple in the tech hierarchy.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Can it rebound?
- 8:07Speaker 5: Like I said, if you look at Amazon, Apple, Google,
- 8:12Speaker 5: and I would argue Meta too.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Those are all essential companies. This is an entertainment company.
- 8:21Speaker 3: The same mistake that I won't pick on anyone, but
- 8:25Speaker 3: that they're making an AI spending, they made in content first.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Like even a deal structure from the very beginning, it's
- 8:34Speaker 3: a tough business to be in. When you have a
- 8:36Speaker 3: Google who is paying you per performance with all the resources,
- 8:41Speaker 3: that's a tough thing to be.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I think they, I don't think they're done. They're still
- 8:46Speaker 2: number one.
- 8:47Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 8:47Speaker 4: They're not done with the valuation. The valuation, I mean,
- 8:49Speaker 4: it's trading. I mean, it was down, it got to 63.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I don't even know if it's at 70 yet, but.
- 8:53Speaker 4: It's at 69 right now. Where they missed, and they
- 8:57Speaker 4: probably are kicking themselves now, and maybe they can correct it,
- 9:01Speaker 4: was the in real life experience. Right?
- 9:04Speaker 2: So like, Twitch came and got them.
- 9:08Speaker 4: What's the other streaming platform?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Kik. Kik.
- 9:12Speaker 4: These platforms, I mean, they have the technology to do it.
- 9:15Speaker 4: They kind of missed on the in real life experience
- 9:17Speaker 4: and it's still happening. When I watched some of Kai's
- 9:20Speaker 4: like streaming university and I'm watching all these TVs with
- 9:24Speaker 4: 150 different creators, that's live content.
- 9:27Speaker 2: That's daily. Each creator. Each creator. Every day. And you
- 9:31Speaker 2: could be housing that on your platform. Remix.
- 9:35Speaker 1: That didn't work. That didn't work. But look, I mean, look. Profitability.
- 9:41Speaker 2: They tried.
- 9:42Speaker 5: I don't think it's over yet, but they got to
- 9:45Speaker 5: figure out then, because like you said, if they're trying.
- 9:47Speaker 1: To compete with YouTube, they can't compete.
- 9:48Speaker 5: YouTube is getting free content.
- 9:51Speaker 1: They're paying for the content that YouTube's getting for free.
