- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapter thirty to meet the bridegroom, Christ with his disciples,
- 0:06Speaker 1: is seated upon the mount of Olives. The sun has
- 0:08Speaker 1: set behind the mountains and the heavens are curtained with
- 0:12Speaker 1: the shades of evening. In full view is a dwelling
- 0:15Speaker 1: house lighted up brilliantly, as if for some festive scene.
- 0:19Speaker 1: The light streams from the openings, and an expectant company
- 0:22Speaker 1: wait around, indicating that a marriage procession is soon to appear.
- 0:27Speaker 1: In many parts of the East, wedding festivities are held
- 0:29Speaker 1: in the evening. The bridegroom goes forth to meet his
- 0:32Speaker 1: bride and bring her to his home by torchlight. The
- 0:36Speaker 1: bridal party proceed from her father's house to his own,
- 0:39Speaker 1: where a feast is provided for the invited guests. In
- 0:42Speaker 1: the scene upon which Christ looks, a company are awaiting
- 0:45Speaker 1: the appearance of the bridal party, intending to join the procession.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Lingering near the bride's house, a ten young women robed
- 0:53Speaker 1: in white. Each carries a lighted lamp and a small
- 0:56Speaker 1: flagon for oil. All are anxiously watching for the appearance
- 1:00Speaker 1: of the bridegroom, but there is a delay. Hour after
- 1:03Speaker 1: hour passes the watchers become weary and fall asleep. At midnight,
- 1:08Speaker 1: the cry is heard, Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye
- 1:12Speaker 1: out to meet him. The sleepers, suddenly awaking, spring to
- 1:16Speaker 1: their feet. They see the procession moving on, bright with
- 1:19Speaker 1: torturees and glad with music. They hear the voice of
- 1:22Speaker 1: the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. The ten
- 1:24Speaker 1: maidens seize their lamps and begin to trim them in
- 1:27Speaker 1: haste to go forth. But five have neglected to fill
- 1:30Speaker 1: their flasks with oil. They did not anticipate so long
- 1:33Speaker 1: a delay, and they have not prepared for the emergency.
- 1:37Speaker 1: In distress, they appeal to their wiser companions, saying, give
- 1:40Speaker 1: us of your oil, for our lamps are going out.
- 1:43Speaker 1: But the waiting five, with their freshly trimmed lamps, have
- 1:47Speaker 1: emptied their flagons. They have no oil to spare, And
- 1:50Speaker 1: they answer, not so lest there be not enough for
- 1:53Speaker 1: us and you. But go ye rather to them that
- 1:55Speaker 1: sell and buy for yourselves. While they went to buy,
- 1:59Speaker 1: the procession moved on and left them behind. The five
- 2:02Speaker 1: with lighted lamps joined the throng and entered the house
- 2:05Speaker 1: with the bridle train, and the door was shut when
- 2:08Speaker 1: the foolish virgins reached the banqueting hall, they received an
- 2:11Speaker 1: unexpected denial. The master of the feast declared, I know
- 2:15Speaker 1: you not. They were left standing without in the empty
- 2:18Speaker 1: street in the blackness of the night. As Christ sat
- 2:22Speaker 1: looking upon the party that waited for the bridegroom, he
- 2:25Speaker 1: told his disciples the story of the ten virgins, by
- 2:28Speaker 1: their experience, illustrating the experience of the church that shall
- 2:32Speaker 1: live just before his second coming. The two classes of
- 2:35Speaker 1: watchers represent the two classes who profess to be waiting
- 2:38Speaker 1: for their Lord. They are called virgins because they profess
- 2:42Speaker 1: a pure faith. By the lamps is represented the word
- 2:45Speaker 1: of God. The Psalmist says, thy word is a lamp
- 2:50Speaker 1: unto my feet, and a light unto my path. The
- 2:54Speaker 1: oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Thus the
- 2:56Speaker 1: spirit is represented in the prophecy of Zechariah. The angel
- 3:00Speaker 1: that talked with me came again, he says, and waked
- 3:04Speaker 1: me as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
- 3:07Speaker 1: and said, unto me, what seest thou? And I said,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I have looked and behold a candlestick all of gold,
- 3:14Speaker 1: with a bowl upon the top of it, and his
- 3:16Speaker 1: seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps,
- 3:20Speaker 1: which are upon the top thereof, and two olive trees
- 3:22Speaker 1: by it, one upon the right side of the bowl
- 3:25Speaker 1: and the other upon the left side thereof. So I
- 3:28Speaker 1: answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying,
- 3:31Speaker 1: what are these? My Lord? Then he answered and spake
- 3:34Speaker 1: unto me, saying, this is a word of the Lord,
- 3:36Speaker 1: unto Zeribabel, saying, not by might nor by power, but
- 3:41Speaker 1: by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. And I
- 3:44Speaker 1: answered again and said unto him, what be these two
- 3:47Speaker 1: olive branches, which, through the two golden pipes empty the
- 3:50Speaker 1: golden oil out of themselves. Then said he, These are
- 3:54Speaker 1: the two anointed ones that stand by the Lord of
- 3:57Speaker 1: the whole earth. From the two olive trees, the golden
- 4:00Speaker 1: oil was emptied through the golden pipes into the bowl
- 4:02Speaker 1: of the candlestick, and thence into the golden lamps that
- 4:05Speaker 1: give light to the sanctuary. So from the holy ones
- 4:08Speaker 1: that stand in God's presence, his spirit is imparted to
- 4:12Speaker 1: the human instrumentalities who are consecrated to his service. The
- 4:16Speaker 1: mission of the two Anointed Ones is to communicate to
- 4:19Speaker 1: God's people that heavenly grace, which alone can make his
- 4:22Speaker 1: word a lamp to the feet and a light to
- 4:24Speaker 1: the path. Not by might nor by power, but by
- 4:29Speaker 1: my spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts. In the Parable,
- 4:33Speaker 1: all the ten virgins went out to meet the bridegroom.
- 4:35Speaker 1: All had lamps and vessels for oil. For a time
- 4:38Speaker 1: there was seen no difference between them. So with the
- 4:41Speaker 1: church that lives just before Christ's second coming, all have
- 4:45Speaker 1: a knowledge of the scriptures, all have heard the message
- 4:48Speaker 1: of Christ's near approach, and confidently expect his appearing. But
- 4:53Speaker 1: as in the Parable, so it is now a time
- 4:55Speaker 1: of waiting intervenes. Faith is tried, and when the cry
- 4:59Speaker 1: is heard, behold the bridegroom cometh, Go ye out to
- 5:03Speaker 1: meet him. Many are unready. They have no oil in
- 5:06Speaker 1: their vessels with their lamps, they are destitute of the
- 5:09Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit of God, a knowledge of
- 5:12Speaker 1: His word is of no avail. The theory of truth
- 5:15Speaker 1: unaccompanied by the Holy Spirit cannot quicken the soul or
- 5:19Speaker 1: sanctify the heart. One may be familiar with the commands
- 5:22Speaker 1: and promises of the Bible, but unless the Spirit of
- 5:25Speaker 1: God sets the truth home, the character will not be transformed.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Without the enlightenment of the spirit, men will not be
- 5:32Speaker 1: able to distinguish truth from error, and they will fall
- 5:35Speaker 1: under the masterful temptations of Satan. The class represented by
- 5:39Speaker 1: the foolish Virgins are not hypocrites. They have a regard
- 5:42Speaker 1: for the truth. They have advocated the truth. They are
- 5:45Speaker 1: attracted to those who believe the truth. But they have
- 5:48Speaker 1: not yielded themselves to the holy spirits working. They have
- 5:51Speaker 1: not fallen upon the rock Christ Jesus and permitted their
- 5:55Speaker 1: old nature to be broken up. This class are represented
- 5:58Speaker 1: also by the stony ground. Here they receive the Word
- 6:01Speaker 1: with readiness, but they fail of assimilating its principles. Its
- 6:05Speaker 1: influence is not abiding. The Spirit works upon man's heart
- 6:10Speaker 1: according to his desire and consent, implanting in him a
- 6:13Speaker 1: new nature. But the class represented by the foolish Virgins
- 6:17Speaker 1: have been content with a superficial work. They do not
- 6:21Speaker 1: know God, they have not studied his character, they have
- 6:24Speaker 1: not held communion with Him. Therefore they do not know
- 6:27Speaker 1: how to trust, how to look and live. Their service
- 6:30Speaker 1: to God degenerates into a form. They come unto thee
- 6:34Speaker 1: as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as
- 6:37Speaker 1: my people, and they hear thy words, but they will
- 6:40Speaker 1: not do them. For with their mouth they show much love,
- 6:43Speaker 1: but their heart goeth after their covetousness. The Apostle Paul
- 6:47Speaker 1: points out that this will be the special characteristic of
- 6:50Speaker 1: those who live just before Christ's second coming. He says,
- 6:54Speaker 1: in the last days, perilous times shall come, for men
- 6:57Speaker 1: shall be lovers of their own selves, lovers of pleasures
- 7:00Speaker 1: more than lovers of God, having a form of Godliness,
- 7:03Speaker 1: but denying the power thereof. This is the class that,
- 7:08Speaker 1: in time of peril, are found crying peace and safety.
- 7:11Speaker 1: They lull their hearts into security and dream not of danger.
- 7:15Speaker 1: When startled from their lethargy, they discern their destitution and
- 7:19Speaker 1: entreat others to supply their lack. But in spiritual things,
- 7:23Speaker 1: no man can make up another's deficiency. The grace of
- 7:26Speaker 1: God has been freely offered to every soul. The message
- 7:30Speaker 1: of the Gospel has been heralded. Let him that is
- 7:32Speaker 1: athirst come, and whosoever will let him take the water
- 7:36Speaker 1: of life freely. But character is not transferable. No man
- 7:41Speaker 1: can believe for another, no man can receive the spirit
- 7:44Speaker 1: for another. No man can impart to another. The character,
- 7:48Speaker 1: which is the fruit of the spirit's working. Though Noah,
- 7:51Speaker 1: Daniel and Job were in it the land, as I live,
- 7:55Speaker 1: saith the Lord, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter.
- 7:58Speaker 1: They shall but deliver their own soul by their righteousness.
- 8:02Speaker 1: It is in a crisis that character is revealed. When
- 8:05Speaker 1: the earnest voice proclaimed at midnight, behold the bridegroom cometh,
- 8:09Speaker 1: go ye out to meet him, and the sleeping virgins
- 8:12Speaker 1: were roused from their slumbers. It was seen who had
- 8:15Speaker 1: made preparation for the event. Both parties were taken unawares,
- 8:19Speaker 1: but one was prepared for the emergency, and the other
- 8:22Speaker 1: was found without preparation. So now a sudden and unlooked
- 8:26Speaker 1: for calamity, something that brings the soul face to face
- 8:29Speaker 1: with death, will show whether there is any real faith
- 8:32Speaker 1: in the promises of God. It will show whether the
- 8:35Speaker 1: soul is sustained by grace. The great final test comes
- 8:39Speaker 1: at the close of human probation, when it will be
- 8:41Speaker 1: too late for the soul's need to be supplied. The
- 8:45Speaker 1: ten virgins are watching in the evening of this earth's history.
- 8:48Speaker 1: All claim to be Christians, all have a call, a name,
- 8:51Speaker 1: a lamp, and all professed to be doing God's service.
- 8:55Speaker 1: All apparently wait for Christ's appearing, but five are unready
- 9:00Speaker 1: be found surprised dismayed outside the banquet hall. At the
- 9:04Speaker 1: final day, many will claim admission to Christ's kingdom, saying,
- 9:08Speaker 1: we have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou
- 9:10Speaker 1: hast taught in our streets? Lord Lord, have we not
- 9:13Speaker 1: prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast
- 9:16Speaker 1: out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?
- 9:20Speaker 1: But the answer is, I tell you, I know ye not,
- 9:23Speaker 1: whence ye are depart from me in this life. They
- 9:27Speaker 1: have not entered into fellowship with Christ. Therefore they know
- 9:30Speaker 1: not the language of heaven. They are strangers to its joy.
- 9:34Speaker 1: What man knoweth the things of a man, save the
- 9:36Speaker 1: spirit of a man, which is in him. Even so
- 9:39Speaker 1: the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit
- 9:42Speaker 1: of God. Saddest of all words that ever fell on
- 9:46Speaker 1: mortal ear are those words of doom. I know you not.
- 9:50Speaker 1: The fellowship of the Spirit which you have slighted could
- 9:53Speaker 1: alone make you one with the joyous throng at the
- 9:55Speaker 1: marriage feast. In that scene you cannot participate. Its light
- 10:00Speaker 1: would fall on blinded eyes its melody upon deaf ears,
- 10:04Speaker 1: Its love and joy could awake no cord of gladness
- 10:07Speaker 1: in the world. Benumbed heart, you are shut out from
- 10:10Speaker 1: Heaven by your own unfitness for its companionship. We cannot
- 10:14Speaker 1: be ready to meet the Lord by waking when the
- 10:17Speaker 1: cry is heard behold the bridegroom, and then gathering up
- 10:20Speaker 1: our empty lamps to have them replenished. We cannot keep
- 10:24Speaker 1: Christ depart from our lives here and yet be fitted
- 10:26Speaker 1: for his companionship in heaven. In the parable, the wise
- 10:31Speaker 1: virgins had oil in their vessels. With their lamps, their
- 10:33Speaker 1: light burned with undimmed flame through the night of watching.
- 10:37Speaker 1: It helped to swell the illumination for the bridegroom's honor
- 10:40Speaker 1: shining out in the darkness. It helped to illuminate the
- 10:43Speaker 1: way to the home of the bridegroom to the marriage feast.
- 10:47Speaker 1: So the followers of Christ are to shed light into
- 10:50Speaker 1: the darkness of the world through the Holy Spirit. God's
- 10:53Speaker 1: word is a light as it becomes a transforming power
- 10:56Speaker 1: in the life of the receiver. By implanting in their
- 10:59Speaker 1: hearts the principles of his word, the Holy Spirit develops
- 11:02Speaker 1: in men the attributes of God, the light of his glory,
- 11:05Speaker 1: his character is to shine forth in his followers. Thus
- 11:09Speaker 1: they are to glorify God, to lighten the path to
- 11:12Speaker 1: the bridegroom's home, to the City of God, to the
- 11:15Speaker 1: marriage supper of the Lamb. The coming of the bridegroom
- 11:18Speaker 1: was at midnight, the darkest hour. So the coming of
- 11:22Speaker 1: Christ will take place in the darkest period of this
- 11:24Speaker 1: earth's history. The days of Noah and Lot picture the
- 11:28Speaker 1: condition of the world just before the coming of the
- 11:30Speaker 1: Son of Man. The scriptures pointing forward to this time
- 11:34Speaker 1: declare that Satan will work with all power and with
- 11:37Speaker 1: all deceivableness of unrighteousness. His working is plainly revealed by
- 11:42Speaker 1: the rapidly increasing darkness, the multitudinous errors, heresies, and delusions
- 11:46Speaker 1: of these last days. Not only is Satan leading the
- 11:50Speaker 1: world captive, but his deceptions are leavening the professed churches
- 11:54Speaker 1: of our Lord Jesus Christ. The great Apostasy will develop
- 11:57Speaker 1: into darkness, deep as midnight, impenetrable as sackcloth of hair.
- 12:02Speaker 1: To God's people, it will be a night of trial,
- 12:05Speaker 1: a night of weeping, a night of persecution for the
- 12:08Speaker 1: truth's sake. But out of that night of darkness, God's
- 12:11Speaker 1: light will shine. He causes the light to shine out
- 12:15Speaker 1: of darkness. When the earth was without form and void,
- 12:18Speaker 1: and darkness was upon the face of the deep, the
- 12:20Speaker 1: spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters,
- 12:24Speaker 1: and God said, let there be light, and there was light.
- 12:28Speaker 1: So in the night of spiritual darkness, God's word goes forth,
- 12:31Speaker 1: Let there be light to his people. He says, Arise, shine,
- 12:36Speaker 1: for thy light is come, and the glory of the
- 12:38Speaker 1: Lord is risen upon thee behold, says the scripture. The
- 12:43Speaker 1: darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people.
- 12:47Speaker 1: But the Lord shall arise upon thee and his glory
- 12:49Speaker 1: shall be seen upon thee. It is the darkness of
- 12:53Speaker 1: misapprehension of God that is enshrouding the world. Men are
- 12:56Speaker 1: losing their knowledge of His character. It has been misunderstood,
- 13:00Speaker 1: good and misinterpreted. At this time a message from God
- 13:03Speaker 1: is to be proclaimed, a message illuminating in its influence
- 13:07Speaker 1: and saving in its power. His character is to be
- 13:10Speaker 1: made known. Into the darkness of the world is to
- 13:13Speaker 1: be shed the light of his glory, the light of
- 13:15Speaker 1: His goodness, mercy and truth. This is the work outlined
- 13:19Speaker 1: by the prophet Isaiah in the words O Jerusalem, that
- 13:23Speaker 1: bringest good tidings. Lift up thy voice with strength, lift
- 13:27Speaker 1: it up. Be not afraid, say, unto the cities of Judah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: Behold your God. Behold the Lord God will come with
- 13:34Speaker 1: strong hand, and his arms shall rule for him. Behold,
- 13:38Speaker 1: his reward is with him, and his work before him.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Those who wait for the Bridegroom's coming are to say
- 13:44Speaker 1: to the people, behold your God. The last rays of
- 13:47Speaker 1: merciful light. The last message of mercy to be given
- 13:51Speaker 1: to the world is a revelation of his character of love.
- 13:54Speaker 1: The children of God are to manifest His glory in
- 13:57Speaker 1: their own life and character. They are to rever feel
- 14:00Speaker 1: what the grace of God has done for them. The
- 14:03Speaker 1: light of the Son of Righteousness is to shine forth
- 14:05Speaker 1: in good works, in words of truth and deeds of holiness. Christ,
- 14:10Speaker 1: the outshining of the Father's glory, came to the world
- 14:13Speaker 1: as its light. He came to represent God to men
- 14:16Speaker 1: and of him. It is written that he was anointed
- 14:19Speaker 1: with the Holy ghost and with power, and went about
- 14:22Speaker 1: doing good in the synagogue at Nazareth. He said, the
- 14:26Speaker 1: spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath
- 14:28Speaker 1: anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor. He
- 14:31Speaker 1: hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach
- 14:34Speaker 1: deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind,
- 14:37Speaker 1: to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach
- 14:41Speaker 1: the acceptable year of the Lord. This was the work
- 14:44Speaker 1: he commissioned his disciples to do. Ye are the light
- 14:47Speaker 1: of the world. He said, Let your light so shine
- 14:51Speaker 1: before men, that they may see your good works and
- 14:53Speaker 1: glorify your Father, which is in heaven. This is the
- 14:57Speaker 1: work which the prophet Isaiah describes when he s said,
- 15:00Speaker 1: is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry,
- 15:03Speaker 1: and that thou bring the poor that are cast out
- 15:05Speaker 1: to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou
- 15:08Speaker 1: cover him, and that thou hidest not thyself from thine
- 15:11Speaker 1: own flesh, Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and thine health shall spring forth speedily, and thy righteousness
- 15:18Speaker 1: shall go before thee. The glory of the Lord shall
- 15:21Speaker 1: be thy reward. Thus, in the night of spiritual darkness,
- 15:25Speaker 1: God's glory is to shine forth through his church, in
- 15:28Speaker 1: lifting up the bowed down and comforting those that mourn.
- 15:32Speaker 1: All around us are heard. The wails of a world's sorrow.
- 15:35Speaker 1: On every hand are the needy and distressed. It is
- 15:38Speaker 1: ours to aid in relieving and softening life's hardships and misery.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Practical work will have far more effect than mere sermonizing.
- 15:47Speaker 1: We are to give food to the hungry, clothing to
- 15:50Speaker 1: the naked, and shelter to the homeless. And we are
- 15:53Speaker 1: called to do more than this. The wants of the
- 15:55Speaker 1: soul only the love of Christ can satisfy. If Christ
- 15:59Speaker 1: is abiding in us, our hearts will be full of
- 16:01Speaker 1: divine sympathy. The sealed fountains of earnest christ like love
- 16:06Speaker 1: will be unsealed. God calls not only for our gifts
- 16:10Speaker 1: for the needy, but for our cheerful countenance, our hopeful words,
- 16:14Speaker 1: our kindly hand clasp. When Christ healed the sick, he
- 16:18Speaker 1: laid his hands upon them. So should we come in
- 16:21Speaker 1: close touch with those whom we seek to benefit. There
- 16:24Speaker 1: are many from whom hope has departed. Bring back the
- 16:27Speaker 1: sunshine to them. Many have lost their courage. Speak to
- 16:31Speaker 1: them words of cheer, Pray for them. There are those
- 16:34Speaker 1: who need the bread of life. Read to them from
- 16:36Speaker 1: the word of God. Upon many is a soul sickness,
- 16:40Speaker 1: which no earthly balm can reach, nor physician heal. Pray
- 16:44Speaker 1: for these souls, bring them to Jesus, Tell them that
- 16:47Speaker 1: there is a balm in Gilead and a physician there.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Light is a blessing, a universal blessing, pouring forth its
- 16:54Speaker 1: treasures on a world unthankful, unholy, demoralized. So it is
- 16:59Speaker 1: with the light of the Sun of Righteousness, the whole earth,
- 17:03Speaker 1: rapt as it is in the darkness of sin and
- 17:05Speaker 1: sorrow and pain, is to be lighted with the knowledge
- 17:08Speaker 1: of God's love. From no sect, rank, or class of
- 17:12Speaker 1: people is the light shining from Heaven's throne to be excluded.
- 17:16Speaker 1: The message of hope and mercy is to be carried
- 17:19Speaker 1: to the ends of the earth. Whosoever will may reach
- 17:22Speaker 1: forth and take hold of God's strength and make peace
- 17:25Speaker 1: with him, and he shall make peace no longer other
- 17:29Speaker 1: heathen to be wrapped in midnight darkness. The gloom is
- 17:32Speaker 1: to disappear before the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness.
- 17:36Speaker 1: The power of Hell has been overcome. But no man
- 17:40Speaker 1: can impart that which he himself has not received in
- 17:43Speaker 1: the work of God. Humanity can originate nothing, No man can,
- 17:48Speaker 1: by his own effort, make himself a light bearer for God.
- 17:51Speaker 1: It was the golden oil emptied by the heavenly messengers
- 17:55Speaker 1: into the golden tubes to be conducted from the Golden
- 17:58Speaker 1: Bowl into the lamps of the sanctuary that produced a continuous,
- 18:02Speaker 1: bright and shining light. It is the love of God,
- 18:06Speaker 1: continually transferred to man, that enables him to impart light
- 18:10Speaker 1: into the hearts of all who are united to God
- 18:12Speaker 1: by faith. The golden oil of Love flows freely to
- 18:16Speaker 1: shine out again in good works, in real, heartfelt service
- 18:20Speaker 1: for God. In the great and measureless gift of the
- 18:22Speaker 1: Holy Spirit, are contained all of Heaven's resources. It is
- 18:27Speaker 1: not because of any restriction on the part of God
- 18:29Speaker 1: that the riches of his grace do not flow earthward
- 18:32Speaker 1: to men. If all were willing to receive, all would
- 18:35Speaker 1: become filled with His spirit. It is the privilege of
- 18:39Speaker 1: every soul to be a living channel through which God
- 18:42Speaker 1: can communicate to the world the treasures of his grace,
- 18:45Speaker 1: the unsearchable riches of Christ. There is nothing that Christ
- 18:49Speaker 1: desires so much as agents who will represent to the
- 18:52Speaker 1: world his spirit and character. There is nothing that the
- 18:55Speaker 1: world needs so much as the manifestation through humanity of
- 18:59Speaker 1: the Saviour's love. All heaven is waiting for channels through
- 19:03Speaker 1: which can be poured the Holy oil to be a
- 19:05Speaker 1: joy and blessing to human hearts. Christ has made every
- 19:09Speaker 1: provision that his Church shall be a transformed body, illumined
- 19:13Speaker 1: with the light of the world, possessing the glory of Immanuel.
- 19:17Speaker 1: It is his purpose that every Christian shall be surrounded
- 19:20Speaker 1: with the spiritual atmosphere of light and peace. He desires
- 19:23Speaker 1: that we shall reveal his own joy in our lives.
- 19:27Speaker 1: The indwelling of the Spirit will be shown by the
- 19:29Speaker 1: outflowing of heavenly love. The divine fullness will flow through
- 19:33Speaker 1: the consecrated human agent, to be given forth to others.
- 19:37Speaker 1: The Sun of righteousness has healing in his wings, so
- 19:41Speaker 1: from every true disciple is to be diffused an influence
- 19:44Speaker 1: for life, courage, helpfulness, and true healing. The religion of
- 19:49Speaker 1: Christ means more than the forgiveness of sins. It means
- 19:53Speaker 1: taking away our sins and filling the vacuum with the
- 19:56Speaker 1: graces of the Holy Spirit. It means divine illumination, rejoicing
- 20:00Speaker 1: in God. It means a heart emptied of self and
- 20:04Speaker 1: blessed with the abiding presence of Christ. When Christ reigns
- 20:08Speaker 1: in the soul, there is purity, freedom from sin, the glory,
- 20:12Speaker 1: the fullness, the completeness of the Gospel plan is fulfilled
- 20:15Speaker 1: in the life. The acceptance of the Savior brings a
- 20:19Speaker 1: glow of perfect peace, perfect love, perfect assurance. The beauty
- 20:24Speaker 1: and fragrance of the character of Christ revealed in the
- 20:26Speaker 1: life testifies that God has indeed sent his son into
- 20:30Speaker 1: the world to be its savior. Christ does not bid
- 20:34Speaker 1: his followers strive to shine. He says, let your light shine.
- 20:39Speaker 1: If you have received the grace of God, the light
- 20:42Speaker 1: is in you. Remove the obstructions, and the Lord's glory
- 20:45Speaker 1: will be revealed. The light will shine forth to penetrate
- 20:49Speaker 1: and dispel the darkness you cannot help, shining within the
- 20:53Speaker 1: range of your influence. The revelation of his own glory
- 20:56Speaker 1: in the form of humanity will bring Heaven so near
- 20:59Speaker 1: to men that the beauty adorning the Inner Temple will
- 21:02Speaker 1: be seen in every soul in whom the Savior dwells.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Men will be captivated by the glory of an abide
- 21:08Speaker 1: in Christ, and in currents of praise and thanksgiving from
- 21:12Speaker 1: the many souls. Thus one to God. Glory will flow
- 21:15Speaker 1: back to the Great Giver. Arise, shine, for Thy light
- 21:19Speaker 1: is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen
- 21:22Speaker 1: upon thee To those who go out to meet the Bridegroom.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Is this message given. Christ is coming with power and
- 21:29Speaker 1: great glory. He is coming with his own glory and
- 21:32Speaker 1: with the glory of the Father. He is coming with
- 21:35Speaker 1: all the Holy angels with him. While all the world
- 21:38Speaker 1: is plunged in darkness, there will be a light in
- 21:41Speaker 1: every dwelling of the saints. They will catch the first
- 21:44Speaker 1: light of his second appearing. The unsullied light will shine
- 21:48Speaker 1: from his splendor, and Christ the Redeemer will be admired
- 21:51Speaker 1: by all who have served him, while the wicked flee
- 21:54Speaker 1: from his presence. Christ's followers will rejoice. The patriarch, job
- 21:59Speaker 1: looking down unto the time of Christ's second Advent, said,
- 22:02Speaker 1: whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold.
- 22:06Speaker 1: And not a stranger to his faithful followers, Christ has
- 22:11Speaker 1: been a daily companion and a familiar friend. They have
- 22:14Speaker 1: lived in close contact, in close communion with God. Upon them,
- 22:19Speaker 1: the glory of the Lord has risen in them. The
- 22:21Speaker 1: light of the knowledge of the glory of God in
- 22:23Speaker 1: the face of Jesus Christ has been reflected. Now they
- 22:27Speaker 1: rejoice in the undimmed rays of the brightness and glory
- 22:30Speaker 1: of the King in his majesty. They are prepared for
- 22:33Speaker 1: the communion of heaven, for they have heaven in their hearts,
- 22:37Speaker 1: with uplifted heads, with the bright beams of the sun
- 22:40Speaker 1: of righteousness shining upon them. With rejoicing that their redemption
- 22:44Speaker 1: draweth nigh, they go forth to meet the bridegroom, saying, lo,
- 22:48Speaker 1: this is our God. We have waited for him, and
- 22:51Speaker 1: he will save us. And I heard, as it were
- 22:55Speaker 1: the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice
- 22:57Speaker 1: of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings,
- 23:01Speaker 1: saying alle Luyah. For the Lord God, omnipotent, reigneth. Let
- 23:06Speaker 1: us be glad and rejoice and give honor to him.
- 23:09Speaker 1: For the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his
- 23:11Speaker 1: wife hath made herself ready, and he saith unto me.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Right blessed are they which are called unto the marriage
- 23:19Speaker 1: supper of the Lamb. He is Lord of lords and
- 23:22Speaker 1: king of kings, and they that are with him are
- 23:24Speaker 1: called and chosen and faithful. End of Chapter thirty
