  [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, friends.
• 0:16
[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to another episode of the Eugene Hamilton podcast.
• 0:19
  [SPEAKER_00]: Hope you don't well.
• 0:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Hope that life is treating you well.
• 0:22
[SPEAKER_00]: This and I am I am so excited about today's episode and I'm a little bit late little just a little bit late relative to the calendar, but I hope you receive the message just the same.
• 0:34
[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty and get going God.
• 0:35
  [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for today.
• 0:37
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for the growth squad.
• 0:39
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for our friends.
• 0:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for those that have tuned in today.
• 0:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Give us what we need right now.
• 0:46
[SPEAKER_00]: So that we can become everything that we will want to be a man.
• 0:50
[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, I every year try to do an episode that
• 0:59
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's like a mid-year recharge, right?
• 1:02
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's funny because I began this podcast journey in June of 2024 on my wife's birthday, June 5th.
• 1:13
[SPEAKER_00]: And so when I say I'm a little bit late relative to the calendar, it's not exactly mid-year as you're hearing this episode.
• 1:22
[SPEAKER_00]: And even as it drops, so you may be hearing as later on during the year, it's still applicable.
• 1:29
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to encourage you to harness the power of reset.
• 1:37
[SPEAKER_00]: It's funny, technology today is off the chain.
• 1:41
  [SPEAKER_00]: It's on another level.
• 1:42
[SPEAKER_00]: It is to the place now where it's moving faster than we can keep up, right?
• 1:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, technology has taken on a life of it's on, back in the day when I was just having a moment of, I guess, reflection with my wife, not long ago.
• 2:00
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're talking about how, when we were first introduced to cell phones,
• 2:04
[SPEAKER_00]: and we didn't have the luxury of having cell phones, although they may have been around, right, some elite groups may have had them.
• 2:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Some of the, I remember one time watching an episode, I believe it was of the in the heat of the night.
• 2:18
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't mess with me in the heat of the night was a show.
• 2:21
[SPEAKER_00]: I used to watch as a child and it was so funny.
• 2:25
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the first car phone I saw was on in the heat of the night.
• 2:29
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, what is this car falling in your car?
• 2:35
[SPEAKER_00]: Technology or a phone usage was used to only be for making phone calls, right?
• 2:43
[SPEAKER_00]: It was only was only for making phone calls, right?
• 2:46
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you get to a place where you can communicate via text.
• 2:48
  [SPEAKER_00]: And now it's funny.
• 2:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I was having a meeting with someone and they pulled out their laptop and I pulled out my phone.
• 2:54
[SPEAKER_00]: They were like, what are you doing?
• 2:55
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, oh man, I'm taking my notes and I do all kind of stuff, send emails, everything, pretty much through my phone.
• 3:01
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little computer in your pocket.
• 3:04
[SPEAKER_00]: But as basically what it is, it's moved, it's advanced from simply just being something to use to contact people in the case of emergency or if you just want to talk to now, you can be overseas, you can start a company on your phone.
• 3:19
[SPEAKER_00]: You can communicate with your boss on your phone.
• 3:21
[SPEAKER_00]: You can send emails, you can do whatever, pretty much whatever you want to do on your phone.
• 3:33
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get to a place where maybe you get bogged down, maybe you, you get locked out.
• 3:38
[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it is, there's a button that you can use in your phone, and I think it's a hard reset.
• 3:44
  [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
• 3:45
  [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
• 3:45
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes some of the resets that you do on technology devices, they won't hard reset in terms of they won't erase all of your your history.
• 3:54
[SPEAKER_00]: They won't erase your past words.
• 3:56
[SPEAKER_00]: They won't erase certain things that are that that that you are custom to go into on your phone.
• 4:02
  [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
• 4:02
[SPEAKER_00]: But then when you do it hard reset, sometimes you got to go down a little bit deeper than just let me shut it down for a minute and cool it off.
• 4:13
[SPEAKER_00]: And as you are tackling 2026, there's nothing wrong with pressing reset.
• 4:24
[SPEAKER_00]: Even though, even though, listen, there's only a few months left in the year, man, you know, there's some, some years of my life, I've gotten stuff done.
• 4:32
[SPEAKER_00]: I've gotten more done in a quarter that means three months that I have in 12 months.
• 4:39
  [SPEAKER_00]: right don't be afraid.
• 4:41
[SPEAKER_00]: I think most people in life stay stuck because they are afraid of starting over.
• 4:48
[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what, the more I talk to people, the more I'm in conversation with people, the more I meet people with the more I, I accounts with people I discover that people aren't really afraid of starting over.
• 5:04
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to blow your mind.
• 5:07
[SPEAKER_00]: they're afraid of what people are going to say, because they had to start over.
• 5:15
[SPEAKER_00]: If you've lived any length of time in life, if you've been on planet earth for any length of time, you've had to start something over.
• 5:25
[SPEAKER_00]: Whether it be a recipe, whether it be, I've seen people in the kitchen who, you know, they, the food didn't come out right.
• 5:32
  [SPEAKER_00]: They started over.
• 5:34
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, they may have cooked some beans or some cornbread or some chicken or whatever.
• 5:38
[SPEAKER_00]: And they've, I've seen people throw a whole batch of something away.
• 5:42
  [SPEAKER_00]: Start it over.
• 5:44
[SPEAKER_00]: And oftentimes, you know, it's funny.
• 5:47
[SPEAKER_00]: People who are not in the spotlight, they don't mind.
• 5:55
[SPEAKER_00]: So I know, but as soon as you turn the spotlight on, it's like they freeze.
• 6:01
[SPEAKER_00]: And as human beings, I, I kind of understand it.
• 6:04
[SPEAKER_00]: because when I was a little kid, I used to hear the old adage, the old phrase, sticks and stones, made break my bones, right?
• 6:15
[SPEAKER_00]: And then we try to get to a place where we'll be people to understand that words don't hurt you, but they do, actually.
• 6:22
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, words cut, words sting.
• 6:25
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, the Bible, I'm not sure if this, this, uh, I understand the message.
• 6:33
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to get all super deep in spiritual.
• 6:34
[SPEAKER_00]: I understand what people are saying with sticks and stones don't bring, uh, bring my bones, but where it's on Harvey.
• 6:40
  [SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
• 6:40
[SPEAKER_00]: I get the message behind that.
• 6:43
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not trying to be super spiritual or act like, oh, this person is the sacallages that came up with that saying,
• 6:49
[SPEAKER_00]: But even the Bible says that the power of life and death is in the tongue.
• 6:56
[SPEAKER_00]: So you can kill somebody's dream with your tongue.
• 6:58
[SPEAKER_00]: You can kill somebody's spirit with your tongue.
• 7:00
[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen people you've seen people as of late, even on television.
• 7:04
[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen a guy, I think, get some jail time because someone harm themselves based on his words.
• 7:12
[SPEAKER_00]: And they had evidence via text messages and all kind of stuff that his words were catalysts for this individual.
• 7:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Moving to a place where they feel that they need to harm themselves based on the fact that this person use words.
• 7:28
[SPEAKER_00]: They push them in their direction.
• 7:31
[SPEAKER_00]: I've even heard people suggest that, hey, close your mouth.
• 7:36
  [SPEAKER_00]: Don't don't don't keep going down that route.
• 7:39
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to get something that you don't want right now because, you know, don't cost.
• 7:43
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying that to me.
• 7:44
  [SPEAKER_00]: I'll get it
• 7:51
[SPEAKER_00]: because of what others might say.
• 7:58
[SPEAKER_00]: And most of the people that have something to say are so busy.
• 8:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just give you a little bit of background and insight.
• 8:09
  [SPEAKER_00]: Most people
• 8:11
[SPEAKER_00]: that have a lot to say about what you're doing, most of them aren't doing anything, and most of them are not doing nearly as much as you're doing.
• 8:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Oftentimes, we put too much stock, we put the battery in the backs of people.
• 8:33
[SPEAKER_00]: They're not living up to their full potential.
• 8:35
[SPEAKER_00]: And they spend all their time trying to talk down your potential.
• 8:39
  [SPEAKER_00]: I need you.
• 8:40
  [SPEAKER_00]: I want you.
• 8:41
[SPEAKER_00]: I implore you to try your best to block out the noise.
• 8:47
[SPEAKER_00]: If I need to reset in order to finish this year strong, press reset, start over from wherever you are.
• 8:56
[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like, hey, listen, if I messed up a set on the bench press, I ain't got to go back and do triceps over, I did those correctly, I ain't to reset and start over right here on the bench.
• 9:06
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying go back and do the whole work out over, but you messed up on these dumbbells.
• 9:10
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's start over with the dumbbells, right?
• 9:12
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not saying you just start over your whole year, or your whole project, wherever you are in this mob and you say I'm getting bogged down, the best thing I can do is start over for the off and scratch, right?
• 9:22
[SPEAKER_00]: So almost like individuals who work all night in the lab because they said listen, we've got this part figured out, this part figured out, but hey, this is gonna take some midnight oil for me to figure this out.
• 9:33
  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm encouraging you.
• 9:34
[SPEAKER_00]: There's sometimes the best way to get ahead is to go backwards.
• 9:37
[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 9:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes the best way to reach your goal is to stop moving towards your goal for season for a second, for a few weeks, for a week, for a couple of days and say, you know what, let me go back because if I, listen, this is have you ever skipped a step in a process, kept moving and realized once you finished, you really want
• 10:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Because whatever step you skipped was so critical, while it may seem small, while it may have seen minor, it was critical to the completion of the project.
• 10:14
[SPEAKER_00]: And because you stopped, you, because you didn't stop and do that thing over at the point that you should have.
• 10:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Now you got, you just lost ground.
• 10:23
[SPEAKER_00]: Now you got to go all the way back.
• 10:30
[SPEAKER_00]: And start all the way over
• 10:36
[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, if I guess I'm hungry right now, if you're in the kitchen, and you're making some German chocolate brownies, but you're making a pound cake.
• 10:48
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, once you put the cake in the oven, you can't go back and add more sugar, you can't go back and add more of the ingredients.
• 10:55
[SPEAKER_00]: If you skipped it, you skipped it.
• 10:56
[SPEAKER_00]: And once that cake comes out and it's flat, you gotta start all the way over when you had the mixing bowl.
• 11:05
[SPEAKER_00]: And in that moment, you said, oh, I forgot to put, I need some more flour.
• 11:08
[SPEAKER_00]: For whatever, whatever, ingredient you needed, while the stuff was in the mixing bowl, you could have added more than you could have gone back two steps and said, oh, you know what, wow, I've put this, this, this, this, let me go back and add this because while it's still in the mixing bowl, but once you put in the oven, once that cake comes out and it's nasty in the name right, you've got to start all the way.
• 11:33
  [SPEAKER_00]: So wherever you are,
• 11:34
[SPEAKER_00]: At this point of the year, and you're saying what I'm working toward, what I start at working toward in January, isn't working out, stop, evaluate, re-evaluate, take some notes, take
• 12:03
[SPEAKER_00]: and remind yourself, there's nothing wrong with a hard reset.
• 12:11
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a citizen body today that is struggling with stopping or starting over or worried about what people are going to say if they have to, you know, start recording and get you a sense of iron in the studio, you've seen footage, when people start a song over as many times as they need to until they get it right.
• 12:32
[SPEAKER_00]: as many times as you need to.
• 12:34
[SPEAKER_00]: Now because you're being lazy, you could be trying to get it right and still working out some kinks and tweaks.
• 12:40
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's fine.
• 12:41
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's okay.
• 12:42
  [SPEAKER_00]: I encourage you, right?
• 12:45
[SPEAKER_00]: To do the best you can, to ensure even as you're starting over.
• 12:51
[SPEAKER_00]: Even as you get into a place where you look at what you've already accomplished, and you said, you know what?
• 12:58
[SPEAKER_00]: This could use a little more work.
• 13:02
  [SPEAKER_00]: do it now.
• 13:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Do it while you still have the thought in your mind.
• 13:07
[SPEAKER_00]: Do it while because you know oftentimes you can think about starting over in the moment and then the thought leaves your mind and then on month down the road you think about that thought again is it's it's too late to tweak
• 13:32
[SPEAKER_00]: even if you have to press reset.
• 13:37
  [SPEAKER_00]: I said, I said something today.
• 13:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Notice short and sweet, but I hope I said something today that's going to push you to new heights, to push you to reevaluate, to push you to a place where people's words about you restarting, no longer hurt or harm you in the way that will stop you.
• 14:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me say this before I go because I know, again, we're human and people say things, it affects us, but don't let it stop you.
• 14:16
[SPEAKER_00]: I know people say things and, you know, people act like, oh, I block out all that noise, I block out social media.
• 14:22
  [SPEAKER_00]: No, they don't.
• 14:23
  [SPEAKER_00]: They hear it.
• 14:23
  [SPEAKER_00]: They see it.
• 14:25
[SPEAKER_00]: They just don't let it stop down.
• 14:27
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what they're trying to say.
• 14:29
[SPEAKER_00]: But they're really trying to say is I saw somebody say something ugly, something mean, something unkind, I've read it, I dealt with it and then going to stop it.
• 14:39
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I want you to do.
• 14:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, listen, if somebody says something about what you got going on or what you are working toward and the fact that you've got to start over, they got something negative to say, hey, I am not the one that is not want you to walk in your reality.
• 14:56
[SPEAKER_00]: The reality is, sometimes, what people say does impact you, but here is what I'm saying.
• 15:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let it stop you.
• 15:07
  [SPEAKER_00]: I heard it.
• 15:08
  [SPEAKER_00]: I hear it.
• 15:09
  [SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
• 15:10
  [SPEAKER_00]: I took a moment.
• 15:11
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm back at it and keep going until you finish the race, that you're supposed to run, and until the people that are supposed to receive what you have to create and give are impacted
• 15:26
  [SPEAKER_00]: as well.
• 15:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Please send this out to somebody that needs to hear, um, that it's okay to begin again.
• 15:34
  [SPEAKER_00]: Hope you will bless.
• 15:35
[SPEAKER_00]: Hope you impacted by our conversation today.
• 15:38
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, hopefully you'll come back next week as we'll be back for another episode on today and keep going keep growing and keep glowing.
• 15:47
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's my
