- 0:00Welcome to Multiple Nerdgasm with your hosts Matt, Luke and
- 0:07Dan Multiple Nerdgasm, your guide to all things nerdy.
- 0:20I'll stay podcast podcast if you're listening on an iPod.
- 0:26Otherwise it's just a narrow cast.
- 0:29I know I've done this show, had this complaint before.
- 0:32Have I had this complaint on air before?
- 0:33I probably have. It bugs me when people call
- 0:35podcasts pods. Oh, welcome to the pod.
- 0:38You could say pod to the cast. Yeah, because.
- 0:41That would be correct. Yes.
- 0:43You don't call ATV show ATV, right?
- 0:46It's a show. It's a pod cast.
- 0:49The pod is the iPod, It's the device.
- 0:51Yeah. Yeah, and in fact, if you're
- 0:52watching broadcast television, nobody goes.
- 0:54Welcome to the Broad Do. That right?
- 0:57No, well, they don't say welcome to the cast either.
- 0:59No, they don't. They just tell you the name of
- 1:01the show. But.
- 1:02You'll see. I'll welcome the cast when they
- 1:05first probably begin. I don't know.
- 1:09Yeah, not a lot, not a lot of live TV these days where they
- 1:12introduce the the players. No, that's fair.
- 1:17So we've done something strange this week.
- 1:19We've already recorded the after party and the third member of
- 1:23this show was present for it. He's not here now.
- 1:26No, no, he's not, which is why we we inverted the system today.
- 1:32But we can tell you that the after party this week, very
- 1:35funny, very entertaining. So subscribe on Patreon.
- 1:40Yep, and if you want to see what Luke looks like while he's on a
- 1:42Bender in cambodiapatreon.com/multiple
- 1:46Nerdgasm. Yeah, yeah, I.
- 1:48Mean it looks quite similar to Luke on a Bender at home, but.
- 1:50Very similar. Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:54Look, there's some, there's tons of stuff to talk about.
- 1:57It's been a couple of weeks. I know there's movies and I want
- 2:00to get to some movies, but we've also been playing the same
- 2:05computer game. Oh yeah.
- 2:07I think you might have already finished it perhaps and I over
- 2:11halfway according to the amount of achievements that I've that
- 2:15I've racked up in Steam. So we're talking about the
- 2:20Drifter. Yeah mate, yes, I have finished
- 2:24it. I where's my play time on this?
- 2:28I I got to say this is it's so far, it's going to be my game of
- 2:33the year. For sure it's.
- 2:35So fucking good. It's everything that's good
- 2:39about point and click adventure games.
- 2:42What's some shit you weren't expecting?
- 2:44Right 9.6 hours I've I've played a bit, so it's not a huge game,
- 2:50but oh I I I was actually surprised it's quite long I was
- 2:54surprised by how long it is it's.
- 2:57Yeah, yeah, sure. Yeah, and he's.
- 3:00He was described as like, am I wrapping up the mystery here?
- 3:03And it's no, no, no, there's, there's more to it.
- 3:05Yeah, there's more happening. Yeah.
- 3:08Dave's described it as a a like a point and click fast-paced
- 3:13take on point and click adventure games.
- 3:15And I was like, I wonder what that means at 1st.
- 3:17And then now I've played it, I'm like, oh, I get that.
- 3:19And that made me nervous because actually, point and click
- 3:21adventures that have time limits are genuinely not good.
- 3:26Yeah, no, that doesn't mean that it's usually a deal.
- 3:28Breaker. Yeah, there's a repeating.
- 3:32You'll know what I'm. Well, I don't want to do
- 3:33spoilers, but there's sections of it where you can fail and
- 3:40then but you'll have to have. Yeah, well, actually, good
- 3:43point. Yeah, failure is part of the
- 3:44gameplay in in some cases. And then you have another go,
- 3:47but they're very like, very well done.
- 3:51It's like it never feels like. It's extremely unique in that
- 3:56respect. Yeah, I've never played a game
- 3:59that does that mechanic before. No, it is excellent.
- 4:04The characterization and the, you know, the voice acting of
- 4:07the of the lead character is just fucking unreal.
- 4:11It's so good. These various.
- 4:13Australian peripheral characters drop the quality overall down a
- 4:19a little a little bit. Not enough that it matters.
- 4:22Yeah, and this is a completely indie game.
- 4:25Like they don't have a publisher or anything.
- 4:27This is literally just two guys. Yeah, well, and a a couple other
- 4:31people involved to do various things and they just made a
- 4:35game. Yeah, a great game and the the
- 4:40best part about this for me, Luke and I saw a demo of this at
- 4:43PAX last year and the playable section that we played was the
- 4:51first scene of the game. No train car.
- 4:55Actually it's the second scene, it's straight after.
- 4:57It's when you were in. The underpass, Yeah, yeah.
- 5:01So the first time you're in the in the underpass before
- 5:04anything's really happened other than that train scene.
- 5:08But you know, when you play something that you've played a
- 5:10demo of, you're like, well am I going to just be waiting for
- 5:12this to happen? So it's like, it's like when you
- 5:15see a movie and everything from the trailer is in the 1st 10
- 5:17minutes and you're like, Oh yeah, now it's a completely new
- 5:19movie for me. Yep, Yep, yeah.
- 5:23So it's a a point and click adventure game.
- 5:25If you've no it, it's in the I would say it kind of mashes
- 5:30together kind of the full throttle.
- 5:34Oh no, not. If if full throttle.
- 5:36I'm trying to think what it's like it would.
- 5:39Be like full throttle. It looks like full throttle.
- 5:41Maybe the dig is the the one that I think is.
- 5:44Yes, because it doesn't have the verbs at the bottom of the
- 5:47screen. Yeah, you just kind of click.
- 5:48Yeah, you're right. I think the dig is probably the
- 5:50closest. Yeah, I was trying to think
- 5:52which. Definitely.
- 5:53Looks like that interface. You know the eye and the hand
- 5:55and everything that. The no you just click.
- 5:58It just whatever however you can interact, it will it will adapt.
- 6:01Yeah, yeah. Like to look at stuff you just
- 6:03hover over. It's very like, it is very
- 6:05refined. I was like, oh, this is like,
- 6:09yeah, I, I, I feel like in a weird way, it's like the, the,
- 6:15you know, all the adventure games in the past have like,
- 6:17come to. This sounds very silly to say
- 6:19about. That.
- 6:19Yeah, yeah. But it really does.
- 6:21Yeah. It really feels like it's.
- 6:23He's built on everything that's come before, and it's just like
- 6:27this kind of ultimate version of it he loved.
- 6:29Every one of those games and said I want to do one that's
- 6:33even better than all of these. And he's put a lot of thought
- 6:36into all the aspects of it. And I just feel like it's like
- 6:39the the best version of of it, all the little bits that we've
- 6:42gotten to the great to date. Yeah.
- 6:44I mean, I don't want to. Like about this, it's just very
- 6:46fun. It's not a spoiler, but I just
- 6:49love in a lot of games from that era from like, you know, like 85
- 6:53to 95, say if you've see an item and you pick it up once you've
- 6:58used it, you've used it. This.
- 7:01If you've got something useful, he'll use it again and again in
- 7:04different scenarios. That's right.
- 7:06Like, yeah, I like that. Yeah.
- 7:09It felt more it. It feels less like a computer
- 7:12game and more just like a intuitive storytelling.
- 7:16Yeah, no, it's it's really cool. Loved it.
- 7:20Yeah, it's good. It could probably get my game of
- 7:21the year I'd say so far. Yeah, it's very good.
- 7:24Yeah. I, I think I might have to agree
- 7:26with you on that. Actually, I can't.
- 7:28Think about it. I also.
- 7:28Knew that would rival it. I've also been playing another
- 7:31point click. Eventually I finished the
- 7:32Drifter and I've got. I've mentioned this one already
- 7:35before too. This is the Biggle Boss
- 7:36incident. Oh, yes, yeah.
- 7:39I've been playing it. I had some trouble playing it on
- 7:42my Mac. I have resorted to playing it in
- 7:45AVM that's running Windows OK, and I've been communication with
- 7:50Adam the developer about some a little bit.
- 7:53Just trying to not wanting to do that.
- 7:55No, just yeah, I, I mean, I want him to succeed.
- 7:58This is a guy that I've been following the development of
- 8:01this game on YouTube for three years or something like that.
- 8:06And he's finally put out this adventure game.
- 8:08And it's a fun, you know, it's funny.
- 8:11It's like a little it's it's like a little again, indie
- 8:15adventure game made by just a single person in this case and
- 8:19about a conspiracy at A at an office.
- 8:22Kind of don't want to give anything away, but it's it's
- 8:25fun. I recommend you check that one
- 8:27out as well. I do think that means.
- 8:29Team wish list so. It's less polished as than the
- 8:35than the Drifter, but also I it's charming and I think it's
- 8:41good because he's not a developer.
- 8:42He became a developer. To make this game to.
- 8:45To make this game and so a lot of the quirks and bugs and stuff
- 8:49yeah I I forgive because I'm like well he just he just you
- 8:53know what I'm going to make a fucking video game and just
- 8:56learned how to do it so it. Reminds me of when Shane
- 8:58Carruth, who wasn't a filmmaker, was an engineer who thought he'd
- 9:02figured out time travel and was like, I'm going to make a movie
- 9:05about this and I'm going to call it Primer because I've got to
- 9:08tell people that this is how time travel would actually work
- 9:11if it worked. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:14So it's like I said, it's a bit yeah, there's some bugs with it,
- 9:17It's a bit clunky, but I I forgive it because I just really
- 9:21want him to succeed because I respect the fact that this is
- 9:23just a guy who was like, you know what, I'm gonna make a
- 9:25fucking game and. And did and actually finished it
- 9:30in a way like I've never done. I've never done it.
- 9:34I've talked about it and I've started, but I've never actually
- 9:37made one. And he has so.
- 9:39We I started, I'm sorry, let's say you haven't started a game
- 9:42and I, I was about to say I've started a game.
- 9:44I mean, I started playing another game.
- 9:46Just to be very clear, I also started playing another game.
- 9:48This. Week.
- 9:49Or last week, because I was sick, listeners, I was so sick.
- 9:53I had the flu, flu. I had actual influenza.
- 9:57It's fucking misery. It's it's worse than COVID.
- 10:00It was awful. And I was looking for stuff.
- 10:03Don't say it's worse than COVID. You'll get we'll get fucking.
- 10:05Oh, I know, we'll get e-mail. Of course it is.
- 10:07COVID is not even real the these people that believe.
- 10:13It's going to be a fucking Wikipedia under this video on
- 10:16YouTube now. Yeah, right.
- 10:22But I was looking for stuff to play while I was just sitting
- 10:24there miserable. And for some reason I initially
- 10:28thought, I thought Drift is going to be too, just too
- 10:32hardcore. I'll play something a little bit
- 10:33lighter and I don't know why. I just clearly didn't understand
- 10:37what this other game really was 'cause I thought, Bejeweled.
- 10:40I've got the return of the Obra Din here.
- 10:43Ohh yeah. And I hadn't played that before.
- 10:45I thought, why is this like a, you know, like night old timey
- 10:47sea shanty type of game? It's fucking hardcore and
- 10:53awesome, but after a certain bit I was like, I need to not have
- 10:56the flu to play this game. You need your brain working.
- 11:00All of my brain, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:02But fuck. That that's a good.
- 11:03Game, though, that's a good game, yeah.
- 11:05Yeah, if very unique. Yeah, yeah, if you want another,
- 11:08if you want a unique game that's like a beautifully rendered game
- 11:13for the Apple two, yes, like it's so old school, but it's
- 11:18like but you know, like in a 3D space and and just this that
- 11:22really unique mechanic of of having to just piece together
- 11:26this mystery from these fragmented clues and.
- 11:30Very, I know it's like, how the fuck did he come up with this?
- 11:34And I, I mean, I know the answer because he talked about it.
- 11:36It was the experimentation and he eventually landed on like it.
- 11:39It wasn't didn't start out as it ended up, but he got he he got
- 11:44there via experimentation. And that's how I.
- 11:46Would be interested to hear about that.
- 11:49I wonder if I need to play all of the game first or because
- 11:51it's so I don't give myself spoilers by looking into.
- 11:54That yeah, I don't know, actually, I can't remember if
- 11:57you talked about the story or not, but yeah, yeah, very unique
- 12:00game. We basically, I think we talked
- 12:02about it a little bit before because I, I played it.
- 12:04But you're an insurance adjuster or inspector who gets sent out
- 12:08to this ship that suddenly comes back into harbour after having
- 12:12disappeared, I forget how many years ago.
- 12:15And you're from the insurance company and you get sent out to
- 12:17find out what happened and assess the situation.
- 12:20But you've also got a magic book that lets you, oh, no magic
- 12:25compass and a book. And you've got to figure out
- 12:28what happened to everybody. And you can view vignettes of
- 12:33what happened on the ship. And you have to kind of solve
- 12:36the mystery of was it who everybody is, how they died,
- 12:42what killed them or what something.
- 12:44And then where, where they ended up.
- 12:46There's like 3 pieces of information I think they have to
- 12:48figure out. It's very, very cool.
- 12:50And the the the more you learn about some things, the the the
- 12:54more pieces start to feel in place for for other parts of the
- 12:58mystery and. Yes.
- 13:00Very, very cool. But like full on, like like lots
- 13:04of death. It's eventually just walking up
- 13:06to everybody individually. Figuring out how everybody died.
- 13:09Saying How did this guy die? Yeah, yeah, it's a cool game.
- 13:14Extremely cool. So I'll be returning to that now
- 13:16that I'm well again, I'll be returning to that after I finish
- 13:19the drift to which I'm liking very much.
- 13:21I've got to return to a game. We've talked about this a little
- 13:24bit on What's That the other day, but the DLC for Indiana
- 13:27Jones is out. I think it's out, yes.
- 13:30Or it's soon to be out. Certainly soon to be out.
- 13:33Yeah, I am annoyed. Not annoyed, Disappointed that
- 13:37it's just more underground stuff in the Vatican, just because
- 13:43what I in my heart of hearts, I wanted a new location.
- 13:47Yes. Specifically, I wanted to go to
- 13:49that site in Peru that they talk about a bunch.
- 13:52Yeah, that's right. Now I understand of course why
- 13:55they chose to just use part of the game that they've already
- 13:59made, and some people do that really well, like the DLC for
- 14:05Alan Wake 2 where you revisit locations but as new characters
- 14:10or just other characters from the game.
- 14:13Genius. You know, even Bioshock
- 14:18Infinites DLC was you were you were there, but you were there
- 14:22in the past, like very cool, like, you know, this just looks
- 14:25like oh, and the day after that game you played, he went back to
- 14:29that place you were on the first day and did a bit more.
- 14:32Yeah, I mean, it seem, it does seem from the trailer, it seems
- 14:34like you unlock some new area, but it seems like it's another
- 14:38underground dungeon, which I guess I mean the Indiana Jones
- 14:44does explore, you know, archaeological sites and stuff.
- 14:47Like it is a like an underground temple seems like it would be
- 14:51the right thing. But I don't know.
- 14:54I just kind of I don't know, I was like, oh, come on, let's go
- 14:58somewhere new. I just, I just really loved all
- 15:00the different countries and stuff you went to and.
- 15:02That was actually the best part of the game was where am I going
- 15:05next? Yeah.
- 15:07And I was really surprised by the, you know, you go to
- 15:10Thailand. I was like, yeah, cool.
- 15:12Yeah, OK. Yeah, and you don't just go
- 15:15there, you fucking spend a lot of.
- 15:17Time. It's quite a long.
- 15:18Boating around to different places and checking it out.
- 15:21So, but well, it looks. Luke got stuck in the Thailand
- 15:26section of the game and that's that's where he still is and
- 15:30that's where he is now. Actually, he's in Cambodia now,
- 15:32but by the time you hear this, he'll be in Thailand.
- 15:34Yeah, he'll be yeah. So I'm I'm excited to check it
- 15:38out. My Xbox is actually not even
- 15:40plugged in right now It's so I have to re plug that in in order
- 15:44to do it so. Why is your Xbox not plugged in?
- 15:48Because we don't need to get too deep into it, but I've
- 15:51rearranged certain things in this office.
- 15:53Nothing that's visible. I don't know, You can probably
- 15:55tell. You might notice certain things
- 15:57behind me look a little different, but I don't have ATV
- 16:01in there anymore and my Xbox is here and I'm going to have it
- 16:05hooked up to this. I haven't done it yet.
- 16:07No sick and it's been been a month or so actually.
- 16:12Yeah, I've not played much on the Xbox.
- 16:14I put on Minecraft about a week ago just to to see.
- 16:18If I will tend to play that on the switch.
- 16:21Oh, sure, Yeah, yeah, it's funny.
- 16:24I was at, I was at karate last night and one of the kids there,
- 16:29there's, there's karate's funny because there's like literally
- 16:3210 year old kids and fucking 70 year old dudes, like in the same
- 16:36class and they fights and some of the kids, well, some of the
- 16:40kids are fucking red belts and some of the 60 year old dudes
- 16:42are white belts. Like this.
- 16:44The hierarchy is totally different to every other aspect
- 16:47of real life. But we were leaving and this
- 16:51little kid goes to me. Oh, what are you going to do
- 16:55when you get home after this? And I was like, I don't know.
- 16:58Yeah, that's your business. Yeah, I was like, probably play
- 17:01the Xbox and he's like, you do not have an Xbox.
- 17:04I guess he just thinks I'm an old man.
- 17:05I'm like, I have had every Xbox from the original Xbox to this
- 17:12Xbox, every single fucking one. Kid, don't fucking come around
- 17:17here and. Then you do.
- 17:19Bash you and I'm in the one place where I'm allowed to do
- 17:22it. Yeah, no one can tell me off for
- 17:25punching you doing the crane. It's like you don't have an Xbox
- 17:29and you're like. Fuck it, here's my Xbox.
- 17:33Yeah, I watched a movie. I don't think I've watched any
- 17:40other movies, so I was in Mexico.
- 17:42Listeners, I know or witnesses? Yeah.
- 17:44I don't know if we mentioned that the reason we haven't had
- 17:47an episode in a while is because Luke's away.
- 17:51He's going to be away for fucking ever.
- 17:53He's got the wisdom away for ages. 6-7 weeks or some.
- 17:55Something to wait for. It's a long holiday.
- 17:57He's extended it. Certainly the longest vacation
- 18:00I've. Ever.
- 18:01Because. Because he.
- 18:02Was never had. A long vacation.
- 18:03And then he was mum was like, I want to come over and watch what
- 18:05you're doing in Thailand. And he was like, oh.
- 18:08Yeah. You want to watch what I'm doing
- 18:10in Thailand? I don't think you do, Mum.
- 18:13Did you say who I'm doing or what I'm doing?
- 18:17So he's gone for a while, but he's he'll pop in and out from
- 18:20Yeah, because he's in the after party this week.
- 18:22He's in the after party you popped in this week.
- 18:24Yeah, Dan's been sick and I was in Mexico, so that's why we
- 18:30haven't had an episode. Mexico.
- 18:32Great. Fucking hot.
- 18:33Anything you wanted to do? Yeah.
- 18:35Saw some cool shit. Saw some.
- 18:37I was. I felt like Indiana Jones.
- 18:38Not really too touristy for that, but.
- 18:41Yeah, but still, I know. I know the feeling you're like.
- 18:45Yeah, it's cool. I'm looking at a ruin and I'm
- 18:47wearing a hat, so yeah, this is as close.
- 18:50As I got to say, it's the first wonder of the world I've seen.
- 18:54It's modern wonder of the world, you know, They rejigger the
- 18:56wonders. Around a bit, yeah, that, yeah.
- 18:58So that's Chichen Itza, although sorry the the temple of Kukulkan
- 19:02in particular. I've seen the Great Wall of
- 19:04China. That's got to be one of them.
- 19:06I'm sure it is, yeah. But yeah, the the the pyramid of
- 19:12temple of Kukulkan impressive. Yeah, very interested to see
- 19:16that. Glad you've.
- 19:17Seen it. I can see why Graham Hancock is
- 19:19is kind of obsessed with it because the guy our tour guide
- 19:23pointed out there's just a lot there that's just like, fuck,
- 19:27man, how did they do that? I mean, I know how it's because
- 19:29they had nothing but time and at night in fucking Mexico in
- 19:34whenever the, you know, early aughts, whatever at night this
- 19:42everything was just apparent, like it didn't have light
- 19:44pollution or anything. So you look up and that's what
- 19:46was there. So I mean, it probably wasn't as
- 19:48difficult as. Yeah, plus, sorry, it was 1.
- 19:51That sounded condescending. Of course it was fucking
- 19:53difficult. Had to do what he said.
- 19:55He had no choice. So I.
- 19:57Didn't mean to say it wasn't difficult to build.
- 19:59What I mean is to observe in a way that we don't observe the
- 20:02sky. They did because that was TV to
- 20:05them, sort of. So you've got the pyramid.
- 20:07I can't see a fucking single spy around here.
- 20:09Yeah, it's disappointing. When we travelled around, we
- 20:13were in Montana in the middle of fucking nowhere in Montana at
- 20:16night, pulled over, looked up, incredible.
- 20:20And it blows my mind that that's there and we just can't see it
- 20:24because we have fucked it. Yeah, we've ruined it for
- 20:27ourselves. Yeah.
- 20:28Too much the light pollution. When you go out into the
- 20:30country, well, I was in Perth, which is I was an hour outside
- 20:34of Perth, and Perth is a small city to begin with and I was an
- 20:36hour outside of it. So we had the spectrum, but it's
- 20:39like you forget that you can literally see the literal Milky.
- 20:44Way, yes, yeah, I know. And then like I say.
- 20:47Visible to the naked eye. And it's like, I've seen it.
- 20:50I'm like, I know it's there. Why, you know, can't we all
- 20:54agree just to turn the lights off so we can see it some more?
- 20:56And it's just at midnight, everything goes off, so I can
- 20:59fucking look at this shit. It's.
- 21:00Like like Johannesburg just shut the power off.
- 21:02Yeah, just fucking yeah. They must love it down there,
- 21:05yeah. Pick it like it's fucking
- 21:08Joburg. But yeah, the fucking pyramid,
- 21:13the front of it faces north and it's got 365 steps to represent
- 21:18the days of the year. It's just all these fucking
- 21:20things about it that's just like, that's fucking sick.
- 21:23And then when you stand at the bottom, I've seen videos of
- 21:25this, right? And I've got to say it's
- 21:27completely different being there and and witnessing this, right?
- 21:29You stand at the front of the pyramid with the steps going up.
- 21:33And if you clap, the sound of your clap goes up.
- 21:37And then when it comes out of the temple at the top, it goes
- 21:41like a bird. Oh shit.
- 21:43And it's like, and it's very impressive like.
- 21:48I can imagine now why Graham Hancock's there going this is
- 21:51this, there's something. Going on here, Yeah, like the
- 21:53solstices, the fucking steps of the big steps of the pyramid
- 21:57form the body of the snake on the snake that runs like it's
- 22:00just so much about it. This is just like man,
- 22:02impressive. Because also, I don't want to be
- 22:05condescending again, but they made this before they invented
- 22:11writing, right? It's not like.
- 22:15No, I think so. The Mayans actually, so they
- 22:18had, we went to early. The Chichenitsa is kind of like
- 22:20a later version of it. Like we went to some earlier
- 22:23ones too. And it's kind of like you can
- 22:24tell like like the the prototype ideas and stuff like that.
- 22:30Like you can tell that they've they've they did this for a
- 22:32long, long time and then eventually they got this thing
- 22:34Chichenitsa. And it's impressive that the
- 22:35that that pyramid is in the condition that it is based on
- 22:38the others, which are kind of fucked.
- 22:42Am I right in thinking it was pretty much covered with dirt
- 22:44until like the 1850s or? Something.
- 22:46Oh, that could be true, yeah. Like I think people thought it
- 22:48was a mountain for ages. Yeah, that would explain it.
- 22:51Because they observed. Yeah, I've learned a lot of
- 22:55interesting stuff about, I don't know, listeners, maybe don't
- 22:58they care that much, But I just just the fact that they had like
- 23:00a bunch of sites and they would just move between them and they
- 23:02built these. They built like reservoirs that
- 23:05would fill with the rainwater and then so they would just move
- 23:07from place to place and when they ran out of water at one
- 23:10place, they'd go to the next one and the the rain had filled them
- 23:13up. I'm just like oh shit, so smart.
- 23:15Yeah. And the gods that they
- 23:17worshipped in each particular place were different because
- 23:19like, like the reason it's the temple Kuku Khan is because the
- 23:24Kuku Khan is the serpent represents fertility.
- 23:26And the the crops just didn't grow as well there as some of
- 23:30their other places. So they're like, well, we'd
- 23:32better get the fucking snake in here to fix it.
- 23:34Yeah. So that's, that's why it's his
- 23:35temple. Like is.
- 23:38He all so practical. He got a big Dick.
- 23:40It says snake. Oh, OK, sorry.
- 23:42I see your photo and I don't know if you thought I was
- 23:44joking, but I was not joking. They literally made a big stone
- 23:48Dick. Yeah, the guy, I mean, he didn't
- 23:51describe it. This.
- 23:52He said that's a stone phallus that they built to to fertilize
- 23:57the Earth. Yeah.
- 23:59And like planet Earth, there is a big Dick fucking the Earth.
- 24:04Love it. I did assume you were joking,
- 24:06but I'm very happy that you weren't.
- 24:08Unless he was joking and I didn't understand that he was
- 24:11joking. Doesn't matter, but it certainly
- 24:13looks like that. You can't ask him.
- 24:14So we're we're just going to know this as a fact for the rest
- 24:17of our lives. Yeah, that's great.
- 24:18Yeah, anyway, he had a great time.
- 24:22Yeah, awesome. I got really close to a
- 24:25crocodile. Did you see that video?
- 24:26That fucking crocodile. Yeah, right.
- 24:29Did you, Jenna, send this? I don't know.
- 24:32Jenna, send it to you guys. I'll, I'll send it to you.
- 24:36My phone's. Recording this crocodilian
- 24:39experience. This needs to be on on the
- 24:41multiple orgasm. I so we're, we're on this boat
- 24:45trip in a, in a river. And so we get in the boat and
- 24:47then they're like, oh, you know, you might see crocodiles, you
- 24:49might see flamingos. We saw all of that stuff, which
- 24:52is great. So we pull out and then
- 24:54literally as soon as we leave the dock, we go up the river a
- 24:56little bit and then this fucking crocodile swims out like a like
- 25:00a pretty big crocodile. And I was like, oh, shit.
- 25:02And then the guy, the guy driving the boat leans in and
- 25:05starts splashing to like get it to come over.
- 25:08And I was like, fucking. OH, and S here in Mexico,
- 25:11obviously don't fucking. Do that.
- 25:12What are you doing mate? Just leave him alone.
- 25:14And then so it fucking swims over and I swear to God, it's
- 25:17like such that a meter from me, like right there in the water
- 25:21looking at me. And then it was one of those
- 25:24moments where in my head I was like, I could touch that.
- 25:27Yeah, right now I could put my finger on its nose.
- 25:30But and then, but then the other part of my brain was like, don't
- 25:33fucking do that, mate. But there was a little bit of me
- 25:36that was like, I wonder if I could have got away with that.
- 25:38Yeah, I I think got away with in terms of no one telling you to
- 25:44stop being a dickhead and put your.
- 25:45Hand in maybe. I don't think he would have
- 25:47given a shit. They've got away with it.
- 25:49As in kept your hand correct? Yeah.
- 25:53I mean, it could have just dragged me into the water if I
- 25:56had tried. Yeah.
- 25:58And obviously part of my brain knew that.
- 26:00But they were like I said, you know, there's just that bitty,
- 26:02that little shit in your brain that's like.
- 26:05Again, the person. Just pick it's knives mate.
- 26:06Just pick it one of the knives. That's right.
- 26:09Stick your finger up its bum. Yeah, we we did a dolphin
- 26:12cruise, which is just the cruise, but there's always
- 26:15dolphins there. But this is the same thing.
- 26:17You have your. I mean, you can touch the water
- 26:18on the sides and they come right up.
- 26:19And you probably shouldn't be touching a dolphin.
- 26:22Yeah, I really do want to. Yeah, dolphins are pretty safe,
- 26:27right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:30I mean, but I don't, I'm more concerned of like, oh.
- 26:33You're going to hurt the dolphin.
- 26:35Yeah, like some dolphin gets a common cold and all dolphins.
- 26:38Are dead. I don't want to give the dolphin
- 26:39my aid, Sydney. Tuts yeah, that's right.
- 26:42Just don't put it in the blowhole.
- 26:47Yeah, it's the closest I've ever been to a closest I've been to a
- 26:49crocodile without some sort of protection between me and.
- 26:52Yeah, because I was going to say when I was at Sum Zoo, and I
- 26:55can't remember which one, there's a fucking crocodile tank
- 27:00with The crocodile just fucking lays against the glass.
- 27:03Yes. And he's like 3 metres long and
- 27:05he's just fucking stares at you. And you could touch the glass if
- 27:09you like, if you wanted to. I didn't want to, but like, even
- 27:13even that's terrifying. Yeah, because I was.
- 27:16It's one of those things where I like I noticed like I sits on
- 27:21there, the crocodile's there and I, I was literally thinking
- 27:23like, I'm less terrified than I would have expected I would be
- 27:27in this situation just because I don't know why.
- 27:31I was just like, oh. I think there's probably
- 27:35evolutionary fear that's been bred out of us now because you
- 27:40knew you were on a boat, you know, and you're like, I
- 27:43couldn't possibly, this couldn't be a sustainable business if
- 27:46even one person got eaten by a crocodile.
- 27:48Because I'm I and the guy that I, it's there looking at me.
- 27:51And at one point I was like, like, is this OK?
- 27:55And then the guy, I remember the guy saying, no, no, he's OK,
- 27:59He's happy. And I was like, oh.
- 28:02Good. Yeah.
- 28:03Good. All right.
- 28:05Yeah. Yeah.
- 28:08So this was also definitely a crocodile, not an alligator.
- 28:12That's what they have. Definitely a crocodile.
- 28:13Yeah, definitely a crocodile because I don't like I said, I
- 28:15was send you. We were used.
- 28:17To in Australia, we're used to our versions of things only
- 28:20being here. I'll throw up on the Patreon to
- 28:24either the video or a photo cause Jenna took about Jenna
- 28:26took a video of, of it. I was, I, I did forget to do
- 28:31that, take videos and photos. So obviously I was somewhat
- 28:34affected by the situation because I was yeah, yeah,
- 28:36fucking staring at this thing. But it was fun.
- 28:39But you did find time to watch a movie or?
- 28:41You've seen We watched it last night.
- 28:43Actually, a certain film that I didn't get to see in the
- 28:48theaters has become available on streaming.
- 28:51I watched F1, the movie I'm. Glad that's available now
- 28:54because I also missed it in the cinemas, but I will watch it
- 28:57this week, this very week. I enjoyed it.
- 29:01It is, I mean, it's if you like Top Gun Maverick, it's yeah,
- 29:07this. I'm sure people have already
- 29:09said this, but it's it's silly in a way, but in a in a fun way
- 29:13where it's like they were serious.
- 29:16I'm glad that movies are going back to that.
- 29:18Yeah. It's it's they're taking
- 29:19themselves very seriously for a long.
- 29:21Time it feels like an old school movie where it's just like,
- 29:24obviously this is nonsense, but fine.
- 29:26Like it's a it's not about that. It's a story about, you know,
- 29:30somebody story about or, or a bunch of.
- 29:33People drive a very fast car and they let him.
- 29:35Yes. And then obviously none of this
- 29:37would actually happen in the real world, but it doesn't
- 29:39matter. And then there was some bits as
- 29:41as someone who watches formula. One wheel world and was.
- 29:44That a the wheel on on. We could pretend it was.
- 29:47We call it the episode The Wheel World.
- 29:48Yeah, we'll lean into it. OK.
- 29:49I'm just writing Wheel World. The wheel world, there's stuff
- 29:55in it. As a Formula One fan, I'm
- 29:58familiar with Formula One, quite familiar.
- 29:59And there's certain things in this that I was like, hang on a
- 30:02minute, OK, But like, not to the point where I actually gave a
- 30:06shit 'cause it's not a, it doesn't take itself.
- 30:08Seriously, 'cause they must also know that at no point did
- 30:11somebody not say that's not actually how that works.
- 30:13Yes, because I don't want to give spoilers for anything in
- 30:17particular. But like no one at certain times
- 30:20there'll be a an accident and then they go, oh, it's a yellow
- 30:23flag and it's 'cause it's all part of the plot and, and things
- 30:26like that. And then but then someone will
- 30:28crash and then they just keep, I've done this intense race,
- 30:30someone crashes whatever and I was like, they would have
- 30:32stopped this fucking. Race.
- 30:33Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This would be a 45 minute delay.
- 30:36Yeah, exactly. They're not.
- 30:38They are not continuing to drive at this point.
- 30:40But yeah. Yeah.
- 30:42Whatever, but just in terms of watching nice cars.
- 30:46The yeah, some of the racing footage is incredible because
- 30:49they've got these cameras. I don't know if you've seen some
- 30:51of the behind the scenes stuff. They've obviously mounted a
- 30:55camera on the car and it can like whip around.
- 30:59And so it, it does like it'll be going going and it'll like whip
- 31:02around to see, you know, Brad Pitt driving or whatever.
- 31:05It's very, yeah, good, good, intense driving footage.
- 31:08Possibly the best ever I'd say. Like as far as getting you in
- 31:12there stuff. As well I assume.
- 31:14Yeah, and that they do stuff with they, they filmed this
- 31:17during race weekends and stuff like that.
- 31:18So like there's literally a bit where Brad, Brad Pitt's racing
- 31:21fucking checker and it's clearly, it's like it's really
- 31:24Checo in the Red Bull and Brad Pitt's racing and they just
- 31:27filmed it. It's like, yeah, it's very cool.
- 31:30And they're all in there. Like all the the drivers are in
- 31:34there like like Hamilton, Verstappen.
- 31:37Like, and all those themselves, obviously, like they don't,
- 31:40they're not playing, Yeah. All of them.
- 31:41Like there's bits where Brad Pitt's like racing against
- 31:44Hamilton and Leclerc and it's like, oh, Charles Leclerc's
- 31:46coming around the outside or whatever.
- 31:48It's just like, oh, it's cool. It's like really them, OK.
- 31:51I got to I got to watch this. I got to watch this.
- 31:55I did make some joyful movies this week and I I watched 2
- 32:01movies about aliens, which is not unusual for for me or for.
- 32:05Any as in the alien from aliens? I'm not going to use the Z word.
- 32:08The X word. No, it wasn't.
- 32:09It wasn't any of the ZS. It wasn't John Xenomorph wasn't
- 32:12any of those one. One was good and one was
- 32:17excellent, and I'll just quickly get the excellent one out of the
- 32:21way. I fucking re watched for the
- 32:23first time. As in the second time.
- 32:26I've only ever watched this a rival.
- 32:29Oh yeah, that is a fucking good movie.
- 32:33Like. So good.
- 32:37Yeah, Denise, good. It made me feel like I would
- 32:44have felt in a first contact situation more than any other
- 32:50movie I think. Yeah, yeah, 'cause it's got
- 32:54that. It's like the, the, I mean, it's
- 32:56all about communication really. And like how do.
- 32:59Yeah. So it's it nails all that.
- 33:02Stuff when she's listening to the the the way they reveal it,
- 33:06they've not even shown the fucking ship, let alone the
- 33:09alien. You hear the language first
- 33:11because they're going to a linguist, right?
- 33:14She listens to it and you hear this fucking weird sound and
- 33:17you're like, fucking hell, that's an alien.
- 33:19Like that sound is an alien. And then she you don't even
- 33:23think to, but she thinks to ask how many of them are talking.
- 33:26And Forest Whitaker goes that's two.
- 33:29That's that's, that's the other one replying to him.
- 33:33And you're like, fuck, like. And and she hasn't even seen the
- 33:38ship, you know, let alone fucking hell.
- 33:40So good. So yeah, it's great.
- 33:44One of the one of the best. The other Alien movie I watched
- 33:46this week was Superman. Yeah, here's my.
- 33:53Yeah, David Corns Corn Sweat. Corn Sweat.
- 33:56Corn Sweat is an excellent Superman, and this is a pretty
- 34:01damn good Superman movie. I'm not like fucking in love
- 34:06with it like I think other people are, but it's perfectly
- 34:10good. I enjoyed every frame of it.
- 34:13Perfectly happy for this to be Part 1 of a 10 film series now.
- 34:19Lots to like about it. If you were going to criticize
- 34:25it. It also didn't do much.
- 34:28It didn't bring anything new to it and it didn't didn't explore
- 34:32kind of unexplored areas. I'm a fan of Man of Steel and he
- 34:38did do that, you know, it gave them some new perspectives and
- 34:42this, you know, super meta humans as gods and all this
- 34:44stuff like this. This didn't really do any of
- 34:46that. It was just them cracking wise
- 34:48but luckily. I liked both versions, yeah.
- 34:51And I think Superman can be both things.
- 34:52So yeah, good. Yeah, cool.
- 34:55Yeah, I. Thought it was fun, chemistry
- 34:56good. Jimmy Alton.
- 34:58Fucking hilarious. Have you seen the the Hulk girl
- 35:07thing going around? There's a it's a Reddit.
- 35:13Thing at the moment people have have gotten a little bit
- 35:14obsessed with her. Well, I mean, yeah, she's she's
- 35:17hot. And there's a particular frame
- 35:20that I guess that used for promo or something that is very, I
- 35:24mean, it's what someone points it out.
- 35:25It's hard not to notice that it it, it if you, if you want it to
- 35:29be it. It's a very sexual picture, but
- 35:34it's not. But like, let me see if I can
- 35:36find it, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:37Let's have a look at this because I, I did see online too,
- 35:40on on fucking Facebook of all places.
- 35:42Someone is literally someone just wrote, This is why I went
- 35:45to see Superman. And it's literally just this
- 35:47shot of Lois Lane sitting at a desk and you can see up a skirt
- 35:50a little bit. It's like, come.
- 35:53On this is a Reddit post of somebody saying what is with
- 35:56this fucking image of hot girl? But then if you click through
- 35:59the image, I mean, yeah, your brain can it's.
- 36:05Better be the most delicious thing I've ever.
- 36:07It's not. It's not.
- 36:08But you you're not. Yeah, I know what you mean.
- 36:10OK, yeah, yeah. If you've already got an
- 36:12erection, you see this picture away.
- 36:16Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:19She was good though. She was she good character, good
- 36:22characterization. Yes, I think I've mentioned this
- 36:25on the show though. But that fucking noise she makes
- 36:27when she's like fire? You're terrifying.
- 36:32Yeah, but in a great way of me laughing.
- 36:35Because also the cameras in this really obtuse angle of her face
- 36:38as it's just fucking flying around going.
- 36:41Around. Yeah, she's swinging this mesh
- 36:42around. Yeah, yeah, it's great.
- 36:45Yeah, I did like that. Like everyone's got their own
- 36:49shtick and they don't give a shit about it.
- 36:54You're like, she's not trying to look cool, you know, just doing
- 36:57her thing, being Hawk Girl. Yeah, Nathan feeling's good in
- 37:00it too. Actually, that whole that, yeah,
- 37:02it's just, I mean, it's very James Gunn.
- 37:04I think that's yeah. Like, for good, for for better
- 37:07or worse, it's very James Gunn. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:14It's not a serious movie. No, but it.
- 37:19And it has less. I would say it's got less and
- 37:21it's got some emotional like the core to it with his, you know,
- 37:25his parents and his the whole thing.
- 37:27But it's not in the not like Guardians 2 I think had a lot
- 37:32more of that and. Even guardians one.
- 37:36Guardians 1 was fucking emotional ass.
- 37:39Yeah, just that bit at the end where they're all holding hands
- 37:42and then fucking rock. Yeah, poor comes up.
- 37:44Like, it's just it fucking gets here in ways that even this
- 37:47doesn't manage to do. Guardians is is an exceptional
- 37:50movie. Yeah.
- 37:51And that's not to say I don't think he failed because he was
- 37:53trying. I think just just has less of
- 37:54that stuff in it. Yeah, yeah.
- 37:57And I thought Lex Litho was good.
- 38:00Lex. My favorite sequence in this is.
- 38:04Overpowered, if I'm honest, like you know, but.
- 38:08Whatever. Yeah, it's hard to get the you
- 38:10mean like to it was just too much balancing meta humans with
- 38:16actual humans kind of thing. Yeah, that's hard though, I
- 38:18think like. Oh yeah, I'm not going to sit
- 38:20here and nitpick. It was, it was.
- 38:23It was way good enough to not need to nitpick.
- 38:29My favorite sequence in it, I think is the and I didn't think
- 38:33I was going to like it as much just from when it started was
- 38:36the. But you know, when he gets out
- 38:38of the slight spoilers, I suppose when Superman bust out
- 38:41of the prison thing and he gets caught in that fucking positron
- 38:45river or whatever the hell it is.
- 38:47And then there's like a black hole and like the fucking what's
- 38:51the element, Mr. Element or whatever element man or
- 38:54whatever. He's like a fucking tentacle
- 38:56thing at that point. And then Krypto's there and it's
- 38:59just that sequence of them, like trying to get out of those black
- 39:01hole. And yeah, that bit in the
- 39:03theatre, I was just like, yeah, I like this, this is cool.
- 39:06Yeah, this is fucking weird in a way that I love.
- 39:10Yes, that's a great way to describe it actually, because
- 39:13also, you know, like everyone, all the fanboy, all the Zack
- 39:16Snyder fanboys posted that shot from the trailer where you sees
- 39:19like him flying and next. Oh, sure, Cavil and Bin, like
- 39:22fucking it's goofy. And it's like, yeah, but it is
- 39:24goofy. He's doing a goofy movie.
- 39:26He's doing a goofy version of this and it's OK.
- 39:28Yeah, you would not see that sequence of the black hole thing
- 39:31in a fucking Zack Snyder movie. Yeah, that's right.
- 39:33But. I really liked that bit because
- 39:36it, like I said, it's just weird like.
- 39:38Yeah, yeah. But in the way that the comics
- 39:40were weird. Oh yeah, especially the comics
- 39:45that that this movie is referencing.
- 39:47I mean, we've got almost 100 years worth of comics at this
- 39:51point, right? Sure.
- 39:53So the era of this is, yeah, I mean, this is all very, very
- 39:56true to the source. Yeah, yeah.
- 39:59It's not a serious dark no take on it.
- 40:01It's A and it doesn't have to. Be it doesn't try to be and and
- 40:04the same with what you said about F1 being a little bit
- 40:07cheesy like this is fun. Movies isn't meant to be fun.
- 40:09It's fine. Yeah, let's just have fun.
- 40:12I agree. I liked, I like Supergirl.
- 40:15I like her little scene. Oh yeah, funny.
- 40:18Yeah, people are the same people.
- 40:20They didn't like that either because it's like, yeah.
- 40:23Yeah, yeah, it undercuts it. I mean, if if anything, I think
- 40:27James Gunn almost lapses into self parody sometimes when he's
- 40:32like, does the big set up and then a jokey undercut, you know,
- 40:36like, he does it a lot in this movie.
- 40:38Yeah, but it works so well that you can't fault him.
- 40:41You know, it's his thing. You can't call him on it.
- 40:46Carneswood is just very good. I think if thing if he wasn't as
- 40:49good as he is, the movie might not have worked.
- 40:52Yeah, he's. Like when he's like.
- 40:54I don't even recognize him, but he's from Pearl.
- 40:58Yeah, I know, right? Crazy.
- 41:00Have you seen that photo of him in the test shoot where he's in
- 41:04an early version of the suit? It's like he's, I've seen the
- 41:08the photo without the trunks. I've seen that, yeah.
- 41:09Without the trunks. Yeah, but he also hasn't dyed
- 41:11his hair black, so he's still got the kind of Blondie like,
- 41:13brown Pearl hair, right? OK, so he looks more like the
- 41:17guy from Pearl. Yeah, OK.
- 41:21He's a dog and he's like, yeah, and he's not even a good dog,
- 41:24but. But he's out there and he's
- 41:28probably scared. You need.
- 41:29To go and. Get him.
- 41:30That's another thing that there's a this it just I
- 41:33remember what when I saw in the theater, I was just there's a
- 41:35bit where he when he slice balls, rescues crypto from that
- 41:39situation. He flies in, smashes through,
- 41:46but I forget, smashes through something like computer or
- 41:48something like that. And then he stops.
- 41:50But he doesn't like not in like in a Zack Snyder movie where
- 41:54Superman's so fast he'll fly and he'll just stop.
- 41:57He like slides, like he like turns and then like slides to a
- 42:01stop and it just looks sick. And I that too.
- 42:04I remember in the theatre I was just like, sick.
- 42:08They also do this thing where they like they speed up certain
- 42:12bits that the meta humans do, like just some of their
- 42:16movements. And the only thing that like
- 42:18it's, it's actually uncinematic because, but in a good way, you
- 42:24know, like it's, and like, you remember double the fist, like
- 42:29how like all the violent scenes were just like, you know, you,
- 42:33you punch a guy and then you just cut out three or 4 frames
- 42:36so that you just punch him on the ground.
- 42:39Like they were, they were doing stuff like that.
- 42:40And it was just making me laugh. It was just making it fun.
- 42:44Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:46So we could have doubled the fist.
- 42:47I've been listening to Craig's podcast quite a bit.
- 42:49It's really good. Yeah, I, I spoke to Craig today
- 42:53actually, and I asked him Dark City.
- 42:56Yeah, I've got that, I've got it.
- 42:58Do you have you listened to his commentary?
- 43:00Yet, no, no, I bought it and it, I mean, I haven't had time, but
- 43:03yeah, it came, I know, a couple of weeks ago.
- 43:07So I will though. He told me a story, but I wonder
- 43:10if I'm allowed to tell it. Well, he didn't say I couldn't
- 43:12tell it. He.
- 43:14Probably didn't realize he had to Dan.
- 43:18True, I can't see that anything bad would come up now.
- 43:24You know what? I'll just.
- 43:24I'll tell you later. I'll tell you later.
- 43:26All right. There's something else in here.
- 43:30I just meant for some reason my brain is like, there's something
- 43:34else. Really.
- 43:34It's tangential to Craig in here.
- 43:36I can't remember what it is. Wasps.
- 43:41Dean Cain, OH. Fucking it's tangential to
- 43:44Superman. Yeah, we talk about Dean Cain.
- 43:46Dean Cain's. Oh man.
- 43:48So we did talk. We we touched on Dean Cain a
- 43:50couple of. Weeks ago, because he's been
- 43:52mouthing off about this Superman, this.
- 43:54Shit now? So he's.
- 43:56Yeah, the other week. Do you know what I'll say?
- 43:58OK, follow up from what we said the other week, you know, we had
- 44:00that rant about how Superman used to be truth, justice in the
- 44:04American way, right? That's that's actually not the
- 44:08case. Superman has said that a couple
- 44:12of times throughout history. He says it in the Richard Donner
- 44:16film. Yeah.
- 44:18But he did not for, for for 100, you know, 100 years or whatever
- 44:22Superman's been around say that all the time.
- 44:24It was introduced during World War 2.
- 44:26Yeah. And then it went away, and then
- 44:29it was. Brought back cartoons, right?
- 44:30That that put it in the opening voice over fighting for truth,
- 44:33justice, amendment, yeah. Right.
- 44:35Yeah, so. So no, it's not it's not
- 44:37Superman's catch phrase. It's just a thing that he said
- 44:39from time to time and they. Used it were Nazis.
- 44:42Right. And they used it in the 1980s
- 44:44film because at that point. Why wouldn't you know?
- 44:47Americans were proud to be American.
- 44:51Less so today. Some general, apparently.
- 44:53Yeah, Exactly. Yeah.
- 44:54Dean Kane still is. So that's not that's not
- 44:57anything. But also, Dean Kane has now said
- 45:00he's going to join ICE. And I guess people are, you
- 45:05know, not happy about that just because I don't know.
- 45:11I don't know. ICE sees a bit of an overreach
- 45:14at the moment to me what ICE is doing, let's put it that way.
- 45:18Yeah, that's a, that's a nice PC way to to to save it.
- 45:22Yeah. And then he's also, he's very
- 45:24upset that people are questioning why he would do that
- 45:29because he thinks it's quite obvious that you would want to
- 45:31uphold the law. And yeah, I guess he seems to
- 45:34think that's what he's doing. So somebody specific who's
- 45:38asking why you would why you would do this is actor John
- 45:41Leguizamo. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 45:43From from the Super Mario Brothers movie.
- 45:46Yeah, or John. John Wick.
- 45:48Yeah, yeah. John Wick.
- 45:49Yeah. And he has had this to say about
- 45:52it. What kind of loser volunteers to
- 45:56be an ICE officer? What a moron.
- 45:59Dean Kane, your pronouns are, has, and been.
- 46:07That's good. Yeah, I just don't.
- 46:12You know what's so funny? I look with this picture here of
- 46:14Dean Cayman, I'm like, oh, hugging as an old man.
- 46:16I remember thinking he was so cool when I was young, but he
- 46:18just looks like like an like a retired football player.
- 46:22And then I realized that's exactly what he is.
- 46:23He is, yeah. Yeah.
- 46:26And he was AUS Marshall or something or other.
- 46:28He was in. Apparently he was in law
- 46:30enforcement for some room, which I guess.
- 46:33Steven Seagal was or like a legit.
- 46:36I could say Steven Seagal is infinitely more interesting than
- 46:39Dean Kane. Yeah, I I love Steven Seagal.
- 46:42I love his movies. I love him as a person.
- 46:44Oh, you know, I don't want to be friends with him.
- 46:46Don't give me wrong. I.
- 46:47Think I see that video that with the guys trying to write down
- 46:51Drew a diagram of Steven Seagal's background where?
- 46:55And then it's like my mother was a Mongolian sheep herder.
- 47:00She was Italian, yes. That's some of these Native
- 47:04American. Yeah, I'm a I'm a Cherokee
- 47:07Indian on my mother's side. And then he's like trying to
- 47:09draw all this shit on the white board.
- 47:11It's like, what the fuck? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:14Nonsense. Very, very entertaining.
- 47:19Has entertained me my entire life.
- 47:21When I was a kid in the 80s, he entertained me with his films
- 47:24and today, like as a middle-aged man, he still entertains me just
- 47:29as a person who now lives in Russia.
- 47:32Just a strange, strange man. Yeah.
- 47:38We've got some follow up we could do.
- 47:41We've got a couple of pieces of follow up.
- 47:42I think 1 is that Disney has settled with Gina Carano and
- 47:48this is there's been some conversation about this because,
- 47:55yeah, we talked about the fact that she's saying, oh, she got
- 47:57fired. And that's why a lot of people
- 47:58are saying Disney fired her for her, her, you know, right wing
- 48:01opinions. Whereas, you know, a lot of
- 48:05people like us have argued you can't be fired if you don't have
- 48:08a job. You just didn't get the job.
- 48:10Yeah, you just didn't get a new contract.
- 48:12So, yeah, yeah. So it's not quite the same
- 48:14thing. And the only reason apparently
- 48:17Disney settled is because there is some grey area in that.
- 48:22In California, a verbal agreement can be legally
- 48:26binding. And I think what's happened is
- 48:28they've said you might lose on that basis if she can make the
- 48:32case that you told her she would, because they did say that
- 48:35she was going to have that show with oh.
- 48:37Yes. Right.
- 48:37Those rebel guys, they said you might lose on that basis because
- 48:41even though it wasn't a contract, you know, on paper,
- 48:44yeah, it was a thing everyone knew about.
- 48:47Especially, I suppose, if that's a California law, California's
- 48:51the only place in America, or really the world outside of like
- 48:54Bollywood maybe, where you could reasonably argue that being an
- 48:59actor is a normal job. Sure.
- 49:02Yeah, and that your your work needs to be protected.
- 49:05Yeah. And I, I'm like, I mean, we all
- 49:07knew she was supposed to be in that show, so I think it
- 49:10wouldn't be difficult for her to prove.
- 49:11Yes, she wasn't fired, but it was also very, very obvious what
- 49:15happened. She said something Disney
- 49:17doesn't like, and she wasn't a Disney girl anymore.
- 49:20And I don't, I wouldn't frame it as she got fired from just
- 49:23having a different political opinions.
- 49:25She got fired because she was a liability.
- 49:27Yeah, as far as publicity because of what she was saying,
- 49:30I think that's different. But you know.
- 49:35So she getting some money, is that what's happening or?
- 49:37Yes, yeah, she's been. She's been paid out, I believe.
- 49:42I don't know how much. Let me check.
- 49:43Maybe it says or maybe we don't know.
- 49:48They've settled. No, it doesn't say.
- 49:51It just says the lawsuit concluded.
- 49:53We look forward to identifying opportunities to work together
- 49:55with Miss Carrano in the near future.
- 49:57I'm sure they're just saying that to be nice, but yeah, yeah,
- 50:00yeah. OK, well there you go.
- 50:04Now unfortunately, her career is probably pretty much over at
- 50:08this point anyway unless she just keeps making.
- 50:11Who's was it Dave Shapiro or someone fucking who was going to
- 50:14fun. Shapiro, Yeah, Ben Shapiro's
- 50:17company, They did, yeah, she did some action movie with them.
- 50:19It was or Western that I've. I haven't seen it.
- 50:22I'm not going to watch it. I heard it wasn't that great.
- 50:25Whatever. Yeah, I mean, I don't listen to
- 50:26anything Bing Shapiro says or does.
- 50:29I occasionally laugh at the. I did see someone respond to his
- 50:33Superman review. He didn't like Superman.
- 50:35Oh no, that might that'll that'll shock you.
- 50:37But he decided he didn't like it because of the word immigrant
- 50:40was used in press before. Pretty sure he was even out.
- 50:43And then I saw someone respond to it and say because he was in
- 50:45his review, it was just clips from Ben Shapiro's review.
- 50:47He was talking about how like, why is Lex Luthor obsessed with
- 50:49land? And then also a clip from
- 50:51earlier on where he was talking about how the donor Superman is
- 50:54the best movie and the guy was like, did you watch the Richard
- 50:58Donner Superman? Do you remember what Lex Luthor
- 51:01is literally fucking doing in that movie?
- 51:03Like. Yeah, Arizona.
- 51:05Land is all Lex Luthor cares about in these.
- 51:08Movies. And in fact, there's a bit where
- 51:09he's just standing there and he goes land.
- 51:11Land yes he played the clip from that so it's like yeah he's.
- 51:15Fucking excellent. You know what's funny?
- 51:17I watched the Donner movies this year, earlier this year when I
- 51:22was a kid, I didn't understand that Lex Luce's fucking lair was
- 51:27an abandoned subway tunnel. It was half flooded and that's
- 51:31why there was a pool that you could walk out of a tunnel and
- 51:35up some stairs in and out of. Like I just thought that was a
- 51:39unique pool that Lex Luthor had in his house.
- 51:42Like right. But it literally it took me
- 51:44until this watch before I went, oh, he's in a flooded.
- 51:48Subway flooded subway tunnel. I don't know why I never picked
- 51:50up on that before. Well, you know.
- 51:54Surely I've seen it between being 5 and and then this year,
- 51:59but it just never even just didn't compute.
- 52:01No, I should. I'm thinking I should watch it
- 52:02again. It's very good.
- 52:04Supermento is also very good. But now you've got the you've
- 52:06got the dilemma of whether to watch the Donna cut, non Donna
- 52:10cut, because half the stuff you liked in that movie is not from
- 52:14Richard Donna and he's taken out of that movie.
- 52:16There's a lot of improvements in the Donna cut, but there's a lot
- 52:19of stuff that you're like, I see why they changed it.
- 52:21Yeah, OK, maybe I have to watch both.
- 52:24Yeah, or they do another final cut where somebody just
- 52:28objectively picks the best things.
- 52:30Yeah, like the the Blade Runner final cut.
- 52:33Yeah, yeah. Oh well, there's some Ridley
- 52:37Scott news this week. I can't remember what it was,
- 52:39though. Has.
- 52:42Scott written a comic book. Did I read something about that?
- 52:45I. Don't know, he might have.
- 52:49Alien Earth is out. I haven't watched it yet, I've
- 52:51heard good things about it. Same I also we don't have to
- 52:56Harper on about this because we've we've had this discussion,
- 52:59but I dropped out of watching for some for whatever reason.
- 53:02I dropped out of watching fallout.
- 53:04I only watched a couple of episodes.
- 53:05Season 2 trailer's out. Yes, trailer dropped for season
- 53:082. Some stuff in that trailer made
- 53:10me go. I need to give season 1.
- 53:12Another go New Vegas the. First episode, yeah, the New
- 53:15Vegas stuff. So I watched the first episode
- 53:17last night and I was like, I don't know why I got lost in
- 53:20this. It's very, very good.
- 53:21So I'm I'm in and I want to watch more.
- 53:24I'll watch more right after this recording.
- 53:26Yeah, yeah, no, I like to. I like season 1.
- 53:28I do. I mean, I watch the season 2
- 53:31trailer and I have I guess I'm old now.
- 53:33I I forgotten a lot of what happened in season 1 already.
- 53:37So. Oh.
- 53:37I deal with everything I want to watch Foundation and I'm like, I
- 53:41can tell you what this is about anymore.
- 53:44Yeah, I would have 3 versions. Of one king and a mural.
- 53:48Yeah, it's the young, the middle-aged and the the old
- 53:51version of him. Yeah.
- 53:52I watched the 1st 2 episodes of a six part series because it's
- 53:56British and that's just what they do that I think you will
- 53:58enjoy. Called Bookish, which is
- 54:01written, directed by and starring Mr. Mark Gattis.
- 54:05Oh yeah. And he plays a detective slash
- 54:10bookshop owner called Mr. Book, right?
- 54:14Right. It is set in post war London.
- 54:17Like literally just post war. So like bomb craters, unexploded
- 54:22shit, still angry about the Nazis and solves murders.
- 54:28I like the I the sound of that. Oh I like the look of this too.
- 54:30Yeah, yeah. All right.
- 54:34Yeah. Mike Garrison with a little hat
- 54:37with a yeah. And it seems to be, if it's all
- 54:43like this, is that each mystery takes 2 episodes.
- 54:47So episodes one and two were one case.
- 54:49Episodes three and four so far are one case.
- 54:53That's all I've gone up to. Check this out.
- 54:56I wonder if it's on Brit Box? Let's find.
- 54:59Out his wife in it. I was staring at going, who is
- 55:03this? She's like an attractive older
- 55:04woman and I'm like, I swear I've seen her before.
- 55:07And I, of course, went to IMDb. You remember Rome?
- 55:10Remember the show Rome? I do.
- 55:13You know that fucking beautiful like aristocrat woman who like
- 55:18never wore? Her.
- 55:20Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my God, She looks quite
- 55:25different. Yes, she looks very different
- 55:28because she's like fucking 20, at least years older than she
- 55:31was. Wow.
- 55:32OK, Yeah. But she's still kind of a
- 55:35seductress. She's still, I don't know,
- 55:37she's, she's still got it. But she was like fucking, you
- 55:41know? I hated her character in Rome.
- 55:46Yes, is it but? I think you're supposed to Yeah,
- 55:49yeah, yeah, yeah. Not, not just randomly.
- 55:51You're supposed to hate her. I just don't like women.
- 55:55I think she's just a very good actress and therefore.
- 55:57And was playing an absolute. And therefore I was like, fuck
- 56:00her. Yeah, I've realized, I think
- 56:06what I, my brain was trying to do before.
- 56:09Well, we're talking about Craig and we're talking about Dark
- 56:11City. Yeah.
- 56:13There's some I robot news which is not I see Alex Proyus
- 56:19related. So that's, I think that's what
- 56:20my brain was trying to do. Alan Tudyk is also in Superman.
- 56:24Sort of that's true. It all links.
- 56:26He plays Gary. I think he's credited as Gary.
- 56:30Amazing. 4 is kind of a name. So is Gary, Yeah.
- 56:39Alan Tudick. I didn't actually know the man.
- 56:41With two apparently. For a reason I didn't know that
- 56:44he played the robot in iRobot. And apparently the reason we
- 56:49didn't know that is because According to him, that's not to
- 56:53say it's not true, but it's just.
- 56:55You know, yeah, I'd say the sources.
- 56:57I'd tell the yeah, I'd tell this version of the story if I was
- 56:59him, too. Is that when they did the test
- 57:03screenings, everybody loved him so much.
- 57:05He was testing better than Will Smith was.
- 57:08And Will Smith was like, well, he's not doing the fucking press
- 57:11talk with me. Yeah, as I can also imagine how
- 57:14fucking funny he would be in interviews.
- 57:16Yes, yes, you know exactly. He's very charming and funny.
- 57:20If I'm supposed to be the hero. So apparently Will Smith
- 57:24basically had him pushed to the side and that's that's why we
- 57:31didn't really know that he was even in that movie.
- 57:33Yeah, because it was not promoted.
- 57:36Well, he was not promoted. Yeah, it's funny.
- 57:40Like, I mean, Alan Trigg is, is is a fantastic character actor,
- 57:44voice over actor and like, I don't know, monster creature
- 57:48actor, I guess you'd call it too.
- 57:49But they're usually a little bit funny, and I don't remember my
- 57:52Robert being funny at all. No, I I, I liked that movie more
- 57:59than. Everybody.
- 58:01Else at the time, I I believe I don't remember.
- 58:04I remember everybody cheating on it and I when I saw it I was
- 58:07like, actually I thought that was quite good, but I'd be
- 58:09interested to watch it again. Yeah, I haven't seen it a second
- 58:11time. It's got Shia la Boeuf in it
- 58:14too, which I did know. But yeah, I'm going to rewatch
- 58:19that movie. You did this movie come out?
- 58:21That's a good question. I.
- 58:23Want to say like 2004 somewhere in there?
- 58:262004 exactly. Yes, There you go.
- 58:30Yeah. OK.
- 58:31Yeah. During the chat, you revealed
- 58:31that not many people know he voiced the robot Sunny in 2004
- 58:34sci-fi action film My Robot. And there's a reason for that.
- 58:39Yeah. There you go.
- 58:41It's. Fucking great plays the chicken
- 58:44in the Moana movies. That's right, He does.
- 58:48I mean, I know him first from Firefly.
- 58:51Save the. Yeah, that was my introduction
- 58:53to him. Yep.
- 58:55Yep. And him and Nathan Fillion.
- 58:57And was Nathan Fillion. Well, Nathan Fillion was in
- 59:01Buffy first, so I guess technically I knew Nathan
- 59:04Fillion from Buffy. True, but actually I didn't
- 59:07really pay attention to him because he wasn't being Nathan
- 59:09Fillion. No, no, that's right.
- 59:12And yeah, it wasn't until he was not a leading.
- 59:14He he was one of the villains in in Buffy, but not a big he was a
- 59:20villain for a period and then he got moved on from I think if I
- 59:24recall in that season. He's not, No.
- 59:26He's seen that the whole season. He's not the big bad,
- 59:29technically. Yeah, that's right.
- 59:31Yeah, that's but I'm trying to think because didn't was Fillion
- 59:35in Doctor horrible? Yes yeah, I think it's the
- 59:40hammer. Yeah, when I first that's right
- 59:43when I first started going OK, this guy's really funny.
- 59:46Is that really the guy from that season of Buffy I'm?
- 59:48Going to give her the hammer. The hammer in the hammer scene,
- 59:51Yes, I got that. He points in it too, yeah.
- 59:56The hammer's a piece, yes. Yeah, yeah, so good.
- 1:00:01It's. Felicia Day.
- 1:00:02Spacing in a pit. It was Felicia Day, so it was.
- 1:00:06She was also in season of Buffy. That's right, yeah.
- 1:00:12We don't have to go on about this, but we have mentioned her
- 1:00:14before, so I'll just quickly mention it in the in the time
- 1:00:16that we have left. And that's I watched another
- 1:00:18movie this week. I watched a movie called 1000
- 1:00:20Men and Me which is The Bonnie Blue Story.
- 1:00:24OK, Yep, right. The Bonnie Blues story I watched
- 1:00:29this because, well, for obvious reasons, because we talked
- 1:00:32about. It it's fucking hilarious, yeah.
- 1:00:34But mostly because this was on BBC or Channel 4 or whatever it
- 1:00:39was in England and everyone was like, I cannot believe they
- 1:00:44played this on TV. And I'm not talking what's in
- 1:00:47it. And it is pretty explicit.
- 1:00:50Like you don't, you don't literally see like fucking Dicks
- 1:00:53going in holes, but you see a shot of what's happening with
- 1:00:57something blurred out, you know, like it's, it doesn't leave a
- 1:01:00lot to the imagination. And they talk about it very
- 1:01:02freely. Yeah, I mean, you'd have to in.
- 1:01:07That in that thousand guy day that they did right, because
- 1:01:12that's what this documentary's about.
- 1:01:13It's about that they filled 1000 guys.
- 1:01:15And actually I realized I didn't know a thing about her, but her
- 1:01:18shtick is that she fucks virgin college boys.
- 1:01:25That's her thing. OK, right.
- 1:01:28So that's what she I mean, that might be what she likes in real
- 1:01:31life. That's certainly what she says
- 1:01:32she likes in her videos. And all her videos are about her
- 1:01:35fucking like going to college campuses and being like or I'm
- 1:01:38just going to let any virgin fuck me today.
- 1:01:40Like just that's her thing, right?
- 1:01:42Just. Whether that's actually what's
- 1:01:44happening or not, yeah. Because yeah.
- 1:01:47Yeah, but evidently it was only halfway through the day where
- 1:01:52they were like, no, we need to actually start planning this.
- 1:01:55We're not getting through enough guys.
- 1:01:56Because evidently they were just like, if you arrived, you would
- 1:02:00just go in and there'd be a fucking swarm of dudes around
- 1:02:04her. Like, like getting sucked off
- 1:02:06and getting jacked off and jacking each other off or
- 1:02:09whatever. And then as soon as some guy was
- 1:02:10out, you know, pulled out of a vagina, if you were there, you
- 1:02:14could just hop in and go in and put it in.
- 1:02:15And that was your turn. But like.
- 1:02:18There was all this other stuff going on too, and then halfway
- 1:02:20through the day somebody was like, if we're going to get
- 1:02:22through 1000, we need to just bring them in one at a time.
- 1:02:25Buying it? Put your Dick in.
- 1:02:28Like and then get out of. There, move it out for a bit and
- 1:02:31we would tell you when to take it out and there's the next guy
- 1:02:33that's standing behind you. But that was like, not what they
- 1:02:38had planned. Right.
- 1:02:41But the fucking quotes. You would think you'd know that,
- 1:02:43right? You would think just common
- 1:02:45sense. Like, they're not going to
- 1:02:46organize themselves, right? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:50Like. If I was going to fuck three
- 1:02:52women, I'd be like, I'm going to have to do you one at a time.
- 1:02:58Seems obvious, but yeah. The the way they talk about it
- 1:03:01is so casually, it's just hilarious.
- 1:03:05If, if, if this wasn't real, if this was scripted, it would be
- 1:03:09top level comedy. Like she's like, so I fucked
- 1:03:121000 guys. Like if I was an athlete and I'd
- 1:03:14played 1000 matches, you'd be thinking I was, I'm a champion.
- 1:03:18Yeah, fucking come on. So good.
- 1:03:22It's very odd, I mean. It was, it was, it was
- 1:03:26interesting watch. I think at a certain point
- 1:03:29perhaps this kind of thing won't be odd anymore, which is
- 1:03:33interesting to think about. But we're still in to, to me, as
- 1:03:36in a as a middle-aged man, it's very strange to to, to even want
- 1:03:41to do this is very strange to me.
- 1:03:43Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:46In fact, even to to be one of the guys involved is strange to
- 1:03:50me. I I just no interest in doing
- 1:03:52something like that. Yeah, I think it's strange that
- 1:03:54the men want to do it. And I think it's even stranger
- 1:03:57that the women, the woman Bonnie Blue wants to do it because
- 1:04:01like, I'm no expert, but I, I've met women, I know women and not
- 1:04:05one of them has ever said to me, you know, what I really want is
- 1:04:08to be fucked by 1000 guys. Yeah, in one day, yeah.
- 1:04:16Yeah, maybe that's. I think maybe that's it and I
- 1:04:19again, I don't want to judge and I'm not slut shaming anyone, but
- 1:04:22I don't know many women that 1000 even over a lifetime
- 1:04:26doesn't seem massively disproportionate.
- 1:04:29Yeah, I mean, times are changing though, so.
- 1:04:33That is true. You never know that is true.
- 1:04:35And look, people are into different stuff, you know, Yeah,
- 1:04:41if, if the, what is it? The the Pornhub annual review or
- 1:04:44whatever that thing is, is led to believable, is to be
- 1:04:46believed. People are into all sorts of
- 1:04:48stuff, including Sonic hedgehogs.
- 1:04:50So, yeah, yeah. Anyway, so you recommend that
- 1:04:56documentary? I know you know that.
- 1:04:57I'll bother one. Yeah, I probably.
- 1:04:58Yeah, honestly, it was mercifully short.
- 1:05:08It's not a whole lot to talk about, is there?
- 1:05:10Right, Right. Yeah.
- 1:05:15Well, yeah, I guess that brings us to the show.
- 1:05:19Normally we would cut to the after party, but we've already
- 1:05:22done the after party. As we said, we've.
- 1:05:23We've done it, yeah. We've done that.
- 1:05:26So if you it's. Time to go if.
- 1:05:27You want to hear us continue talking, or rather have already
- 1:05:32talked, Yeah. And.
- 1:05:33Referencing anything we've said already in this show.
