- 0:06Welcome to Have Faith. Let it begin. Here's your host, Angel Santana.
- 0:13Ariel, can you say, have faith? Let it begin. Let it begin? Let it begin. Say, have faith.
- 0:21Let it begin. Let it begin. No. No? No? Okay. Hi, Noah. Noah! Noah.
- 0:30Happy birthday, Noah. I'm so lazy.
- 0:38This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.
- 0:43This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.
- 0:47This little light of rain, I'm gonna let it shine.
- 0:51Let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine. Yeah.
- 0:59Daddy, I'm so excited, but I have one question. What's your question?
- 1:03I'm going to be a pastor or a minister.
- 1:06Good question. I don't know, but it is all in God's hands. Good morning.
- 1:10You're listening to Have Faith Let Begin, and it starts right now.
- 1:15Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Have Faith Let It Begin,
- 1:18June 24th. It is a Tuesday.
- 1:21Please be safe out there as the humidity index is going to be 92% in the Northeast.
- 1:27My goodness, where all this heat is coming from.
- 1:31Yet a month ago, we were like, where's the sun, right? Where's the sun?
- 1:34Why can't it stop raining?
- 1:36Now it's like, where's the rain? Where's the coolness? I know.
- 1:40Well, let me tell you, when it rains, it pours.
- 1:44I got home yesterday and witnessed our six-year microwave.
- 1:49No, microwave. Look at me. I'm so used to talking about microwaves.
- 1:52No, let's do that again. Our six year AC unit broke.
- 1:58That's right. Yep. So another appliance breaks and, you know,
- 2:02I had to rush to the many stores to find that no one had, and I mean,
- 2:09literally no one had an updated or a good unit to purchase, which kind of stunk.
- 2:15Ultimately I had to settle for something a little smaller and,
- 2:18you know, it did, listen, And it did the job, but we had to stay cool overnight, right?
- 2:22I mean, it's extremely hot, especially during the hours we're in our beds,
- 2:28and we wanted to make sure we were comfortable.
- 2:31But as I was, you know, preparing the new unit and taking out the old,
- 2:35my daughter was like, you know,
- 2:37dad, you know, I don't know what's going on. You know, this is crazy.
- 2:40And I looked down and she's playing on this game.
- 2:44And she says to me, I don't know. I can't get this to work. And she gets frustrated.
- 2:48Mind you, she's six years old. You know, this happens.
- 2:51And she almost starts to cry. And I look at her and I said, listen,
- 2:54I'm going to teach you something. Okay.
- 2:56And she's like, yeah, daddy. And I'm like, listen, you have to concentrate on
- 3:00to what is in your control as opposed to what's out of your control.
- 3:05I said, you know, your little gadget there is not running as fast as it can, right?
- 3:10Is that something that is your fault or is that maybe the system,
- 3:14maybe the unit needs to be fixed or maybe it needs to be cleaned out?
- 3:18She goes, oh, okay, daddy, you know, well, help me out. So, you know,
- 3:21I cleaned it out and did a whole restart on it.
- 3:24And sure enough, it's working faster now than it was before.
- 3:28And she said, you know, daddy, you're magic. And I said, no, that's not magic.
- 3:32That's just concentrating on what's in your control as opposed to what's out of your control.
- 3:39So where does this lead us into today's message? It's kind of like what happened to me.
- 3:44You know, you get home, you want to relax and you can't because you have things
- 3:48you have to do. the house needed an AC unit.
- 3:51I went to four different places and finally on my fifth one,
- 3:55I found the unit that I felt was good enough or that would do the job.
- 4:00And when it was all said and done, the AC unit started to work.
- 4:04We were all comfortable and you move forward.
- 4:07Life can't always be that perfect, right? We worry about what's in our control
- 4:11and what's not in our control.
- 4:13And sometimes the things that are out of our control can feel like they're out
- 4:17of reach and it makes you feel as if you cannot accomplish or get things done
- 4:23because you feel you're so far out of reach for something.
- 4:27But there's always a hidden message. There's always a hidden treasure.
- 4:31When we worry and concentrate more about what's in our control,
- 4:35we'll find other ways, new ways to make things happen to the point where we
- 4:41feel as if we're back in control.
- 4:44A lot of times when I think about everything that's happened to me in my past,
- 4:48where I was let go from my first employer and I didn't know what I was going to do.
- 4:54And I said to myself, I got to, I really did say this to myself.
- 4:57I can't worry about what just happened. You know, that's out of my control.
- 5:01They let me go. But what would be in my control?
- 5:04Well, I'll cry a little bit. I'll pick my head up and I'll find something else.
- 5:10And I will not let this affect me.
- 5:14Don't allow anything that's out of your control to affect you.
- 5:19Concentrate on what is in your control. But you know who is always in control
- 5:23and is always looking out for us and is always preparing us for what's next? our Heavenly Father.
- 5:31Jesus Christ is a huge part of our day. He's a huge part of our decision making.
- 5:37And it is a huge part about realizing what we should be doing and what we aren't doing.
- 5:43Think about that today as you go about your day.
- 5:47And think about what is in your control and what is out of your control.
- 5:52If you start thinking that way a little bit better, life will get a little bit easier.
- 5:57Not always, being honest but it will make things a lot easier for you to manage. Let's pray.
- 6:04Heavenly Father, we thank you for today's message. Lord, we know that tomorrow's not promised.
- 6:09We know that today's not even guaranteed. What we do know is that there are
- 6:13many of us out there that are seeking prayer.
- 6:15We pray for the military personnel foreign and domestic as we try to overcome
- 6:20these wars these missiles that are happening between two places,
- 6:25Israel and Iran. We just want them to get along, Lord.
- 6:28Lord, we ask you to continue to pray for Diane.
- 6:32We pray for Ben. We pray for John. We pray for Yesenia. We pray for Mansa.
- 6:39We continue to lift up in prayer those that are battling with AC units and those
- 6:43that can't afford them. May they find the coolness in the Holy Spirit.
- 6:47May the coolness just breeze right by them and let them feel that genuine hug
- 6:52that they want and they need.
- 6:54We pray this morning as we lift you up in prayer.
- 6:59We pray the Lord keeps you, guides you, and continues to bless you each and every day.
- 7:07And finally, we pray for all of you out there that are dealing with heartache, mental illness,
- 7:14loss, and non-understanding of what the difference is between in your control and out of our control.
- 7:20We pray that each and every one of us learn something a little bit today,
- 7:23and we'll try to adapt and figure out a way to do that as well. on your daily routine.
- 7:29So may God be with you. May he shine his light upon you and give each and every
- 7:34one of you peace on earth.
- 7:35Hey, never forget, have faith, let it begin.
