- 0:56.it that deepens the topics discussed on the
- 0:59portal. I am with the journalist Enzo Mauri who
- 1:02introduces the current topic. Good morning, today
- 1:04I tell you about a car from the 60s. In 1965,
- 1:09in the middle of an economic boom, the Opel Diplomat
- 1:14Coupé, the model from which the Bitter CD came
- 1:17down years later, was launched on the German
- 1:17automotive market, destined to have even more
- 1:18success. The Opel Diplomat Coupé, made for a
- 1:22high -level, was produced between 1965 and 1967
- 1:26in just 304 models plus the cabriolet version
- 1:30at the price of 25 ,500 marks. The future Bittercd
- 1:34had a 5 .4 -liter engine, 5 ,354 cubic centimeters,
- 1:39the larger version of the berline. With a speed
- 1:42of 206 kilometers per hour in the mid -sixties,
- 1:45it was the fastest German car. The car was also
- 1:47equipped with a two -speed automatic power -glide
- 1:51innovative for the European market, despite the
- 1:54exquisite number of reports. Yet, despite the
- 1:56ambitious proposals, the Opel Diplomat Coupé
- 1:58turned out to be a half -flop. Waiting for the
- 2:01next Bitter in 1969, at the Frankfurt Motor Show,
- 2:05the Opel exposed the CD prototype, or Diplomat
- 2:08Coupé, designed by Charles M. Jordan. The car,
- 2:11in fact, shared the engine of the model that
- 2:13came out in 1965. In 1970, Italian entrepreneur
- 2:17and designer Pietro Frua presented a customized
- 2:20model of the CD. The touch of Italianity acquired
- 2:23by the model did not go unnoticed. The former
- 2:26rally driver Eric Bitter, owner since 1971 of
- 2:30the homonymous automotive company, acquired the
- 2:32rights. With its slanted line, 1 .1 meters high
- 2:35and a maximum speed of 210 km per hour, the Bitter
- 2:39CD became reality. Between 1973 and 1979, the
- 2:44end of production year, La carrozzeria 20 di
- 2:47Stoccarda sfornò 395 Bitter CD vendute attraverso
- 2:51la rete Opel al prezzo di 52 .000 marchi. Nonostante
- 2:54il prezzo più che doppio la crisi petrolifera
- 2:57e i vari sommovimenti politici del periodo, la
- 2:59fuori serie Bitter CD ebbe maggiore successo
- 3:02della sorella di casa Opel. Apprezzata dai collezionisti
- 3:05di auto d 'epoca, al giorno d 'oggi un modello
- 3:07in buone condizioni sfiora il valore di 100 .000
- 3:10euro. Grazie a Denzo Mauri per il tema odierno.
