- 2:10Speaker 3: three five five zero zero Wait, want to welcome into
- 2:13Speaker 3: the show. First time he's been on in the Wild
- 2:14Speaker 3: easton studio. It's so Charleston, Marre Frankmondins Junior. How you doing, sir?
- 2:18Speaker 7: Going fine? Thank you, Thanks for having me, Thank you.
- 2:20Speaker 3: For being here. All right, So we got roundabout now Charleston,
- 2:25Speaker 3: South Charleston. I'm picturing that there's still somebody who's still
- 2:29Speaker 3: going around on the circle. They've been there since like
- 2:31Speaker 3: last Thursday, trying to get out of it. How's it gone? Overall?
- 2:34Speaker 3: We have all seen the post about it, the videos
- 2:36Speaker 3: and so on and so forth. But how's it going.
- 2:38Speaker 7: I've seen some videos too that were kind of funny.
- 2:40Speaker 7: But for the most part, I think it's going really well,
- 2:42Speaker 7: you know. And I just came through there by the
- 2:43Speaker 7: way and everything was fine. Nobody was lost or going
- 2:45Speaker 7: in circles. Everything was good. I got here pretty quickly,
- 2:48Speaker 7: so I think overall it's going well. Actually, you know,
- 2:50Speaker 7: obviously there's a learning curve for some folks, and it's
- 2:52Speaker 7: a little bit intimidating for others, But for the most part,
- 2:55Speaker 7: I think it's going well. And man, what a great
- 2:58Speaker 7: what a great relief it is not to have those
- 3:00Speaker 7: stop lights there anymore. I mean, I'm somebody that goes
- 3:01Speaker 7: through there four or five times a day, and it's
- 3:03Speaker 7: just a big relief to me.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I'm sure to a lot of people. That's none of
- 3:06Speaker 3: the three hours you can add to your schedule. D
- 3:08Speaker 3: A lot of truth in that, Yes, sir, how's the
- 3:10Speaker 3: project gone overall? I mean the whole widening project, I think.
- 3:13Speaker 7: It's going pretty well. You know, it's a state project,
- 3:15Speaker 7: but we had we had obviously had some input in
- 3:17Speaker 7: the very beginning, particularly for what they call flyover I
- 3:19Speaker 7: called overpass over railroad tracks, and I think overall it's
- 3:22Speaker 7: done pretty well. And I know there's some folks that's
- 3:24Speaker 7: what I call unavoidable inconvenience is when you're doing something
- 3:27Speaker 7: like this as this kind of a major project. But
- 3:29Speaker 7: I think overall, I got to give kudos the Highways
- 3:31Speaker 7: and the cook cohosting. I think, you know, for being
- 3:34Speaker 7: one of the highest traffic council in state of West Virginia.
- 3:36Speaker 7: They've done a pretty good job.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I think people. And it's interesting you mentioned that, Mayor
- 3:39Speaker 3: because I think people failed to realize how much traffic
- 3:42Speaker 3: actually goes through that entire area.
- 3:44Speaker 7: Yeah, it's it's it's it's big. I mean, like I say,
- 3:46Speaker 7: it's one of the highest and out on Route sixty,
- 3:48Speaker 7: it's the highest count in West Virginia. So the bunch there,
- 3:51Speaker 7: I think Secretary of Riston said it well when he
- 3:53Speaker 7: was still there to beginning his project. He said, heck,
- 3:55Speaker 7: it was tough to get through there before we started,
- 3:57Speaker 7: you know, so so it was a channel formed. I
- 4:00Speaker 7: think again, overall, i'd like to give them some kudos
- 4:02Speaker 7: cause i think they've done a pretty good job considering.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and let's go back to the roundabouts from but because,
- 4:07Speaker 3: I mean, you had put it out there that you know,
- 4:09Speaker 3: these roundabouts were gonna happen, and we got, you know,
- 4:12Speaker 3: calls to the show, text to the show. People either
- 4:14Speaker 3: love them or hate them, like you said, there there's
- 4:15Speaker 3: no in between, and a lot of times there's a
- 4:17Speaker 3: learning curve. These are quite common in various areas, even
- 4:20Speaker 3: I mean the first time that I really encountered a
- 4:23Speaker 3: lot was in Florida.
- 4:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:24Speaker 3: But but but they they're everywhere and even in West
- 4:29Speaker 3: Virginia there, so yeah, they are.
- 4:30Speaker 7: There's some up north, Firmloat Morgantown have some up in
- 4:32Speaker 7: that area, and so this is the first one obviously here,
- 4:35Speaker 7: but not down south. They have a few. I just
- 4:36Speaker 7: came back from Hilton Vay case from my wife a
- 4:38Speaker 7: couple of weeks ago, and they have them down. They're
- 4:39Speaker 7: all over the place. So and though there'll be more
- 4:42Speaker 7: commonplace because I think what they do is that it's
- 4:44Speaker 7: they allow for a continuous flow of traffic, which is
- 4:46Speaker 7: which is really what we needed in that area. Continuous
- 4:49Speaker 7: flow of traffic and a lot of us starting stopping. And
- 4:51Speaker 7: I know people say, well, look, traffic still backs up
- 4:53Speaker 7: when it does, but remember we're not done yet either.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Some lanes that still need to be open. I think
- 4:57Speaker 7: it's improved the traffic flow right now. You still do
- 5:00Speaker 7: have some backups when you have high traffic times a day,
- 5:03Speaker 7: but at the end of the day, there are still
- 5:05Speaker 7: still some lanes that need to be open. And once
- 5:07Speaker 7: those lanes are open, I think you'll see a significant
- 5:08Speaker 7: difference at least I hope so in the traffic flow.
- 5:11Speaker 7: And I think you've seen the difference already.
- 5:12Speaker 3: To be honest with you, we got a text here
- 5:14Speaker 3: said someone said, ask when the final completion date is
- 5:18Speaker 3: and when everything will be up.
- 5:19Speaker 7: That's a good question. I've been told by the end
- 5:21Speaker 7: of the summer. Those dates are always hard to keep,
- 5:24Speaker 7: you know, especially with Park Place, with Jefferson Road, these
- 5:27Speaker 7: dates keep flying up and keep saying we'll be done
- 5:29Speaker 7: by here. This is going to happen by there, and
- 5:31Speaker 7: it's always a moving target. So take everything with a
- 5:33Speaker 7: grain of salt. But I've been told everything should be
- 5:35Speaker 7: completed by the end of the by the end of
- 5:37Speaker 7: this summer.
- 5:38Speaker 3: And sometimes mayor as you well know, there's so many
- 5:40Speaker 3: things that are out there in control. They are from
- 5:41Speaker 3: the weather to supply chain issues and so on and
- 5:45Speaker 3: so on. I mean, sometimes things are just completely well
- 5:47Speaker 3: you get to nail on the head.
- 5:48Speaker 7: We're going through that with park Place now, trying to
- 5:50Speaker 7: get you know, Kroger's a schedule to start. And by
- 5:52Speaker 7: the way, if people don't know, the groundbreaking is the
- 5:54Speaker 7: thirtieth of this month, and start construction supposed to be
- 5:57Speaker 7: the twenty eight. They probably would have started a month
- 5:58Speaker 7: ago if mother nature were to cooperate. We've got to
- 6:00Speaker 7: get the pad certified. At the end of the day,
- 6:02Speaker 7: everything's done. We're just waiting for the mother nature to say, hey,
- 6:05Speaker 7: can we drive a truck over without sinking? And once
- 6:07Speaker 7: that happens, you'll see construction starts. So that's going to
- 6:09Speaker 7: be a really, really, really big deal for us and
- 6:12Speaker 7: for the valley as a whole. Wife I'm sure.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Well, and again what a difference of year makes because
- 6:17Speaker 3: as one of our meteorologist friends we had on the
- 6:19Speaker 3: show on Metro News Midday said, this time last year,
- 6:21Speaker 3: we couldn't buy rain. Yeah, you know, it's a certain something,
- 6:24Speaker 3: and now we got what. We got way too much.
- 6:26Speaker 7: I was just having that discussion as we're standing down
- 6:28Speaker 7: their mud deep ankle deep in mud. You know, last
- 6:31Speaker 7: year we couldn't it was a drought around here. Now
- 6:33Speaker 7: we're dealing with this. But that's the way it works.
- 6:34Speaker 7: Life's about balance, right, Yeah, So let's talk about the
- 6:38Speaker 7: park place.
- 6:39Speaker 3: So, uh, what any any news since the last time
- 6:41Speaker 3: you were on the show about that?
- 6:42Speaker 7: Yeah, since the last time I've been on the show.
- 6:43Speaker 7: I don't know how much. I mean I have, some
- 6:45Speaker 7: of it's already been out there again. Like I said,
- 6:47Speaker 7: the Kroger Marketplace will be the first one in the
- 6:48Speaker 7: state of West Virginia and from and.
- 6:50Speaker 3: When what's the difference? Man me to interrupt here, what's
- 6:51Speaker 3: the difference between a Kroger marketplace and a regular Parker place?
- 6:54Speaker 7: Is kind of like I caught like a like a
- 6:56Speaker 7: Kroger on steroids. They sell more than just groceries, you
- 6:58Speaker 7: know what I mean. It's almost like a mini Wallmullo.
- 7:00Speaker 7: They're still they're still a very high percentage tilted obviously
- 7:03Speaker 7: towards a grocery. Look, it's a grocery store, right, but
- 7:05Speaker 7: they do sell other products. If you've been to any
- 7:08Speaker 7: of that, I've been to one down South and again,
- 7:10Speaker 7: one section of it will look like a small Walmart
- 7:12Speaker 7: for example, on the house to describe it, we'll have
- 7:13Speaker 7: a variety of different retail items the purchase. But that's
- 7:16Speaker 7: what it is to give everybody kind of a good,
- 7:19Speaker 7: good visual visual. The Kroger at Riverwalk now in South
- 7:22Speaker 7: Charleston is approximately fifty thousand square foot store. This one's
- 7:25Speaker 7: going to be one hundred and twenty thousand square foot store.
- 7:28Speaker 7: So that kind of gives you an idea of the
- 7:30Speaker 7: difference in size and difference in inventory. You're gonna be
- 7:33Speaker 7: able to go there in and there in have So
- 7:34Speaker 7: we're excited about it.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Talking again with the South Charleston Mayor Frank Mullins junior
- 7:38Speaker 3: of a Dave Island show in five eighty live. It's
- 7:40Speaker 3: presented in part by Generations Physical Therapy, the leading provider
- 7:43Speaker 3: of outpatient PT in the Tri State for nearly thirty years.
- 7:46Speaker 3: For an appointment three zero four seven, six zero fifty
- 7:48Speaker 3: six to sixty or visit GENERATIONSPT dot com to find
- 7:51Speaker 3: the closest location near you. Of course, everybody talking about
- 7:53Speaker 3: that Kroger, but you know there's gonna be some other
- 7:55Speaker 3: things that are coming there as well.
- 7:56Speaker 7: Yeah, they already got to several restaurants getting ready to
- 7:58Speaker 7: start this fall as well. When I think that people
- 8:00Speaker 7: are going to really enjoy His Mission Barbecue, which is
- 8:03Speaker 7: a franchise that's put together by a group of veterans,
- 8:05Speaker 7: and I think there was a lot of them in
- 8:06Speaker 7: a high there's nothing in West Virginia yet. We'll have
- 8:09Speaker 7: the first one there. It'll be right across from the
- 8:10Speaker 7: main entrance of Park Place where Chick fil A's that
- 8:12Speaker 7: had across from there. If people know where that's at uh,
- 8:15Speaker 7: so that that'll start. That'll be the next one to
- 8:17Speaker 7: start after Kroger, I believe, and then it'll be a
- 8:18Speaker 7: little bit of a domino effect after that, so you'll
- 8:20Speaker 7: see several, uh several things start no later than this fall. Again,
- 8:24Speaker 7: the Kroger will be next. As soon as mother nature
- 8:26Speaker 7: lets them get started, they're gonna get started. We're groundbreaking again,
- 8:29Speaker 7: as I mentioned on the thirtieth of this month. So
- 8:31Speaker 7: we're all again. We're excited about that. We're excited about
- 8:33Speaker 7: the you know, one of the big things, I said,
- 8:35Speaker 7: one of the most anticipated ribbon cuttings we've had in
- 8:38Speaker 7: a long time. It was a farmers market. Oh yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 7: we did, man, it was it was really something else.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Let me tell you, I've fed a couple of opportunities
- 8:44Speaker 3: my wife and I to come to that farmers market.
- 8:47Speaker 3: That's a real deal. I mean it is really really
- 8:49Speaker 3: a nice farmers.
- 8:50Speaker 7: Well, it really is. And we got I was a
- 8:52Speaker 7: little concerned about vendors when we first came, you know,
- 8:54Speaker 7: started to do it. The man we've been we've had
- 8:56Speaker 7: more vendors than we can handle wanting to come down.
- 8:58Speaker 7: So it's been really good. The very first day we
- 9:00Speaker 7: opened up Gritz had to restock four times and it
- 9:04Speaker 7: was kind of gives you an idea of, you know,
- 9:06Speaker 7: what kind of crowd we had down there.
- 9:08Speaker 3: But it's not only the fact that you have different
- 9:10Speaker 3: things coming in too. It's not just the same thing
- 9:12Speaker 3: every week. And I know that there's usually food trucks there, Yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 3: things of that nature. So it gives people a little variety. Yeah,
- 9:17Speaker 3: and look, I live in Tay's Valley and we make
- 9:19Speaker 3: the trip there. I know people from Charleston to come there.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I know people from Elview that come there. So people
- 9:24Speaker 3: aren't are aren't shy about getting on the road and
- 9:26Speaker 3: coming to South Charleston right now because this Farmer's market
- 9:29Speaker 3: is really really nice.
- 9:30Speaker 7: Very convenient, very convenient to get to.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, so we'll talk about the downtown area.
- 9:35Speaker 3: South Charleston had an opportunity to be there a couple
- 9:37Speaker 3: of weeks ago, and we forget we spend so much
- 9:39Speaker 3: time talking about River Walk and talking about what's going
- 9:42Speaker 3: on to Jeffert We forget you've got them thriving downtown area.
- 9:45Speaker 7: Yeah, we do. It's good and now we have a
- 9:47Speaker 7: variety of restaurants. For sure. It's the only place you
- 9:49Speaker 7: probably can't. It was hard for a while to happy
- 9:51Speaker 7: days open down there, to can't find a hot dog
- 9:53Speaker 7: or hamburg. It was mostly a lot of different cuisine
- 9:55Speaker 7: from around the world. Right, So, and then we have
- 9:57Speaker 7: a new business going in down there now by the mound.
- 9:59Speaker 7: It's Andrew's Boots is moving down there. That's a construction
- 10:02Speaker 7: you see now on Seventh Avenue. They're coming in and
- 10:05Speaker 7: so we're excited to get them open and get them going.
- 10:07Speaker 7: But yeah, downtown's going well. Mixture of small business with
- 10:12Speaker 7: professionals and restaurants and you have a nice little downtown.
- 10:14Speaker 7: Attorney's insurance, real estate people throwing a few eteries and
- 10:17Speaker 7: you have a nice downtown. That was always our goal,
- 10:19Speaker 7: and I think we're getting there.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Had a texture, he said, loving the roundabout, except for
- 10:23Speaker 3: the Papa John's delivery driver who came towards me head on.
- 10:26Speaker 3: It's not that complicated people. It's a learning process. Mare's
- 10:30Speaker 3: learning it is.
- 10:31Speaker 7: I've seen some of those videos, but again it's a
- 10:33Speaker 7: it's a learning curve for some folks. And look, six
- 10:36Speaker 7: months to a year from now, everybody going through there
- 10:37Speaker 7: will be routine, will be good to go.
- 10:39Speaker 3: For that one guy who's still in its still.
- 10:41Speaker 7: Yeah, I saw one truck in that little center lane
- 10:43Speaker 7: in the middle of just going in circles. I think
- 10:45Speaker 7: he was just doing it on purposes, screwing around. But anyway,
- 10:48Speaker 7: it is what it is.
- 10:50Speaker 3: So what's going on with South Charleston Community Center? Anything
- 10:52Speaker 3: going on there?
- 10:53Speaker 7: Toy. We've got a hold of roof right now. We're
- 10:54Speaker 7: coming with you know, so we're dealing.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Not by design.
- 10:57Speaker 7: Not by design, it's there, but look the roofs of town,
- 11:00Speaker 7: you know, it's it was a twenty five year roof
- 11:02Speaker 7: that we opened the doors in nineteen eighty two through
- 11:05Speaker 7: the math, right, So it's a well, look, we have
- 11:07Speaker 7: plans for a new one and we're trying to get
- 11:10Speaker 7: that going. We've got a we got a conceptual design
- 11:12Speaker 7: already made. We've got a site select that I can't
- 11:14Speaker 7: really announce that site yet, but we do have a
- 11:16Speaker 7: site selection for it, and hopefully it's.
- 11:19Speaker 3: A site selection for the for the new community, New
- 11:21Speaker 3: Community show.
- 11:22Speaker 7: So it's gonna move from where, Yeah, we need to
- 11:23Speaker 7: move it. Look, the roof's replacement is about a five
- 11:25Speaker 7: or six million dollar project. The mechanics of it is
- 11:29Speaker 7: really getting a little bit of a struggle because it's
- 11:31Speaker 7: been under water nine times. You know it's in the floodplain. Obviously,
- 11:34Speaker 7: people know that we need to build a new facility somewhere.
- 11:37Speaker 7: In the perfect world, we'll be able to do it
- 11:38Speaker 7: without any service interruption, could do it while it's still open.
- 11:41Speaker 7: That's the game plan. We're moving forward with it. It's a challenge.
- 11:44Speaker 7: The tiff districts are funding mechanisms, so we've got to
- 11:46Speaker 7: get some stores open up park Place in other places.
- 11:48Speaker 7: But once we get that done, we hope to be
- 11:50Speaker 7: able to get that project up and going.
- 11:52Speaker 3: A couple more texts for you. Here a popular guy here,
- 11:55Speaker 3: Three things I'd love to see at park Place, Iikia,
- 11:58Speaker 3: Malibu jacks, and a Bucky's. Well, I can tell you
- 12:00Speaker 3: one of those is not gonna happen. That's the buckets.
- 12:02Speaker 3: That one's off.
- 12:03Speaker 7: That one's off that take up the whole site.
- 12:05Speaker 3: From what I understand, that's not gonna happen. What about
- 12:07Speaker 3: the other two, I mean.
- 12:08Speaker 7: I haven't heard those two yet, but I appreciate that.
- 12:10Speaker 7: I appreciate those ideas. I mean, I get a bunch
- 12:12Speaker 7: of things sent to me, and although a lot of
- 12:15Speaker 7: it will be up to the developer. We did keep
- 12:16Speaker 7: what I call veto power over some things, so we'll
- 12:18Speaker 7: be able to control some of the things that go
- 12:20Speaker 7: in there. Because I didn't want us to just be
- 12:22Speaker 7: able to reach out and grab an easy lease. I
- 12:24Speaker 7: wanted to try to bring things we don't have in
- 12:25Speaker 7: West Virginia, and we're being a little bit successful that.
- 12:28Speaker 7: It's been a little harder than I thought, but when
- 12:29Speaker 7: you you know, you throw in a mission barbecue for example,
- 12:32Speaker 7: and even hopefully Minards will get started sometime soon. I
- 12:34Speaker 7: still don't have a date for that, but I've talked
- 12:36Speaker 7: to them several times. It's still on their schedule to do.
- 12:38Speaker 7: So you know, those two check that box, and we
- 12:40Speaker 7: have some other ones coming to check that box as well.
- 12:42Speaker 7: So that's what we're trying to do. There'll be some
- 12:45Speaker 7: dup Let's, Chick fil A and Starbucks are there, but
- 12:46Speaker 7: you can't get wrong with those two, right, So you know,
- 12:49Speaker 7: I'm excited about it, and I think people will start
- 12:51Speaker 7: seeing some real activity down there this summer and fall.
- 12:54Speaker 3: All right, question for the mayor, what's the deal with
- 12:55Speaker 3: the dairy bar?
- 12:57Speaker 7: I don't know. I mean, it's it's you know, the
- 12:59Speaker 7: owner we had we had a small restaurant in there
- 13:02Speaker 7: for a little while. Right now it's vacant. I haven't
- 13:04Speaker 7: heard of anything else coming back in. Look, we need
- 13:06Speaker 7: a place in South charles for people come and get
- 13:08Speaker 7: ice cream, right, we don't even I hear that sometimes
- 13:10Speaker 7: from folks. Look where do you go to just get
- 13:12Speaker 7: an ice cream cone in South Charleston And we don't
- 13:13Speaker 7: really have a place. So hopefully we'll be able to
- 13:16Speaker 7: get something like that back in that area because I
- 13:18Speaker 7: think that was popular. One of the dairy bar was
- 13:20Speaker 7: popular for people.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Well, I think sometimes what happens, and this is not
- 13:22Speaker 3: exclusive to South Charleston, this happens in every town across America.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Is a lot of times people say, well we need
- 13:28Speaker 3: this and we need that, and the government needs to
- 13:30Speaker 3: do this, and the city. I mean, you guys have
- 13:32Speaker 3: got your role in city government or county government or whatever.
- 13:35Speaker 3: You've got your role in. But that's that's up to individual.
- 13:37Speaker 7: That is up then I say that all. Look where
- 13:40Speaker 7: our role, I think is to make South Charleston an
- 13:42Speaker 7: attractive place to come and do business, whether it be
- 13:44Speaker 7: helping them do some site development, or whether it be
- 13:47Speaker 7: through infrastructure or tax structure or whatever. It may be.
- 13:50Speaker 7: We want to have a business friendly environment. That's been
- 13:51Speaker 7: one of my main goals since I took office, and
- 13:53Speaker 7: I think we've accomplished that. And so but then after
- 13:57Speaker 7: we do that, after we have that in place, it's
- 13:59Speaker 7: up to the private sector to come in and create
- 14:01Speaker 7: the jobs and bring in the new business. We just
- 14:03Speaker 7: have to give them the playing field that they want
- 14:05Speaker 7: to come and play on. And that's what we're that's
- 14:06Speaker 7: what we've been doing in South Charleston, and it's been
- 14:09Speaker 7: successful because, look, you can do it for a little while,
- 14:11Speaker 7: it's got to have staying power. If it doesn't have
- 14:12Speaker 7: staying power, you're not gonna you're not gonna have a
- 14:14Speaker 7: lot of success. So you've got to have staying power.
- 14:16Speaker 7: We're at that point now where people trust us, they
- 14:18Speaker 7: know we have a business friendly environment, they know it's
- 14:20Speaker 7: here to stay.
- 14:21Speaker 3: All right, So Charleston Mayor Frank Mullins, and the bottom
- 14:24Speaker 3: line is just be patient with the roundabout.

- 17:39Speaker 3: to Heart, followed by the Exiles Thursday the fourteenth, the
- 17:42Speaker 3: Legacy Motown Review and the Detonators. On Friday, August fifteenth,
- 17:49Speaker 3: Josh Pantry will play at six and then I'll be
- 17:52Speaker 3: all about this when the tribute to Leonard Skinnard called
- 17:55Speaker 3: Turn it Up. That's that late Friday night, and then
- 17:58Speaker 3: on Saturday, Non Friction, great local group and Rick Kay's
- 18:02Speaker 3: road Trip. We'll be playing that night. So again we'll
- 18:05Speaker 3: talk about it as we get a little bit closer.
- 18:06Speaker 3: But again that's who's playing. To the Texter that ask
- 18:10Speaker 3: straight On, the tribute to herd End, the Exiles on Wednesday,
- 18:13Speaker 3: then on Thursdays the Detonators, followed by the Legacy Motown Review.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Friday August fifteenth, Josh Pantry and then the tribute to
- 18:20Speaker 3: skinnerd Turned it Up. And then on Saturday, August sixteenth,
- 18:23Speaker 3: Non Friction, followed by Rick Kay's road Trip Danny Jones
- 18:26Speaker 3: coming up a little bit later on Stephen Allen Adams
- 18:28Speaker 3: is here. How you doing, man? Doing really good?
- 18:30Speaker 6: And I gotta tell you man, like, I haven't driven
- 18:33Speaker 6: on the new roundabout in South Charles, but I like roundabouts.
- 18:37Speaker 6: I don't think they're too complicated. But I've seen some
- 18:39Speaker 6: crazy things on the round about. I watched one time
- 18:41Speaker 6: in Harlan, Kentucky, a semi truck instead of trying to
- 18:44Speaker 6: make the round just drive right straight through the middle
- 18:48Speaker 6: as if it was so he did the about instead
- 18:51Speaker 6: of the round I guess, yeah, yeah, So I've seen
- 18:53Speaker 6: some crazy crazy stuff from drivers on around.
- 18:55Speaker 3: I mean, there's all kinds of videos out there, the
- 18:57Speaker 3: TikTok thing and whatever, in which I don't take, nor
- 19:00Speaker 3: do I talk. But Tracy out front after she got
- 19:05Speaker 3: her work completed by the way management, after she got
- 19:07Speaker 3: a work complete, was showing us some videos out there
- 19:09Speaker 3: various roundabouts and given them names. I mean, she wasn't,
- 19:13Speaker 3: but other people apparently they've given me. So this weekend
- 19:16Speaker 3: the State Republican Party is going to gather in Morgantown.
- 19:19Speaker 3: They're going to choose a new leader. This after the
- 19:21Speaker 3: resignation of Matt Herridge, Wes Perry, doctor Michael George, and
- 19:24Speaker 3: Delegate Josh Nichols Josh Oldstein, Sorry about that, Josh. Are
- 19:29Speaker 3: the names in the mix that I'm aware of, and
- 19:31Speaker 3: immediately after Matt Harridge announced his resignation a week ago.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Of course he's a member of the Morrissey administration, Senator
- 19:39Speaker 3: Justice immediately endorsed Delegate Holsteam and I'm told there's a
- 19:42Speaker 3: lot of support for him, and of course the others
- 19:45Speaker 3: have their supporters as well.
- 19:46Speaker 6: What are you hearing, boy, It's kind of radio silence
- 19:50Speaker 6: on my end on this. I'm going to drive up
- 19:52Speaker 6: there for the meeting on Saturday and cover that. I've
- 19:55Speaker 6: pretty much covered every new Chair election since Mark Harris
- 20:01Speaker 6: replaced Melody Potter back in twenty twenty, twenty twenty one,
- 20:05Speaker 6: where yeah, it was right after the twenty twenty presidential election.
- 20:09Speaker 6: And what I'm trying to figure out are factions now.
- 20:13Speaker 6: As you said, got former governor US Senator Jim Justice
- 20:17Speaker 6: is a line behind Delgate Josh Holstein, and that is
- 20:21Speaker 6: sort of what I'm hearing too talking to I reached
- 20:23Speaker 6: out to a couple committee members that I know personally
- 20:26Speaker 6: that sort of said that seems to be the popular choice,
- 20:30Speaker 6: but there is, as you have I'm sure kind of noticed,
- 20:33Speaker 6: even though it's not been by name, there's sort of
- 20:37Speaker 6: back and forth between the former Justice administration and the
- 20:41Speaker 6: current administration of Governor Patrick Morrissey, and Morrissey does like
- 20:46Speaker 6: to kind of involve himself in those type of intra
- 20:51Speaker 6: party squabbles, So the question is who's his person. I
- 20:55Speaker 6: don't know if any of the two other names that
- 20:57Speaker 6: you mentioned who I don't really know anything about other
- 21:01Speaker 6: than the wife right in the Metro News story. I
- 21:03Speaker 6: don't know if those are Morrissey backed people or not,
- 21:08Speaker 6: or if there's somebody else that's floating out there. But
- 21:11Speaker 6: I think that's going to be the question is who
- 21:14Speaker 6: what faction is going to be in control of managing
- 21:18Speaker 6: the state party going into the next midterm election, which
- 21:20Speaker 6: will be important sure at all three.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Because I had I had the three I mentioned on
- 21:25Speaker 3: the show last week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in
- 21:28Speaker 3: a row, and I interviewed all of them and I
- 21:30Speaker 3: pretty much asked them all the same questions, and one
- 21:32Speaker 3: of them, you know, the questions I asked was about
- 21:34Speaker 3: about candidate recruitment, because when you are the party in power,
- 21:40Speaker 3: as the Democrats were for eighty three years, everybody wants
- 21:42Speaker 3: to run. Anybody that's got independent that's and that's great,
- 21:45Speaker 3: don't get me wrong, but sometimes you got to have
- 21:47Speaker 3: people to kind of say, Okay, well this person, maybe
- 21:50Speaker 3: you'd be better off here, and maybe this person you'd
- 21:53Speaker 3: be better off here. And that's one of the roles
- 21:55Speaker 3: of a party party chair. People kind of forget that
- 21:57Speaker 3: it's working with the county executive committee on candidate recruitment.
- 22:01Speaker 6: I mean, traditionally your state party had a big role
- 22:05Speaker 6: in candidate recruitment and saying you run you wait, you know,
- 22:09Speaker 6: to the next cycle. A lot of that got broken
- 22:12Speaker 6: down by a campaign finance reform, assistance United you can
- 22:16Speaker 6: donate direct to packs now and kind of bypassed your
- 22:20Speaker 6: state party. Actually there, I think there's a Supreme Court
- 22:22Speaker 6: ruling or case going through now that might actually put
- 22:25Speaker 6: more power in state party hands.
- 22:28Speaker 7: They had way more of a role.
- 22:29Speaker 6: That's many will point to the fact that the erosion
- 22:34Speaker 6: of state parties and even the national party is why
- 22:36Speaker 6: we've gotten fringe candidates on both sides, on the Republican
- 22:40Speaker 6: side and the Democratic side. So you want to have
- 22:43Speaker 6: a strong party because a strong party is going to
- 22:48Speaker 6: you know, be strong on issues like candidate recruitment and
- 22:51Speaker 6: finding quality candidates. So that's that's an important role. Of
- 22:54Speaker 6: a party that kind of got lost and may be
- 22:56Speaker 6: coming back.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm talking again with Steven Allen Adams of logged
- 23:00Speaker 3: in newspapers, and I have been told that there seems
- 23:04Speaker 3: to be a disconnect. Now that if I'm wrong about this,
- 23:08Speaker 3: I will apologize, but I've been told by several people
- 23:12Speaker 3: that there's seems to be a bit of a disconnect
- 23:14Speaker 3: from the Morrissey administration with the delegation in Washington, you know,
- 23:20Speaker 3: whether it's Justice or Capito or or Miller Riley Moore.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Now again, you hear a lot of stuff, but have
- 23:27Speaker 3: you heard things like that?
- 23:28Speaker 6: Oh for sure, for sure, which is very interesting because
- 23:32Speaker 6: I mean it's sort of known that Governor Morrissey does
- 23:36Speaker 6: go to d C pretty frequently. Uh so you would
- 23:40Speaker 6: think the relationship would be better. I think we can
- 23:42Speaker 6: see safely say that the relationship probably between the Morrissey
- 23:46Speaker 6: administration and the Justice US Senate Office probably is not
- 23:50Speaker 6: the greatest. As for everybody else, I think it just
- 23:53Speaker 6: kind of varies. But of course, you know, uh, you
- 23:56Speaker 6: know more Capital Senator Capito's son was someone that ran
- 24:01Speaker 6: against Morrissey in the Republican primary for governor came in second. Uh,
- 24:05Speaker 6: and and lost, but took some counties away from from Morrissey,
- 24:11Speaker 6: particularly in southern West Virginia by the way. Uh, so
- 24:15Speaker 6: there there's there's a little bit of probably some friction there,
- 24:21Speaker 6: I would presume going forward. And also keep in mind,
- 24:27Speaker 6: you know, more capital as a young man, he could
- 24:28Speaker 6: run for office.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Again.
- 24:29Speaker 6: We know he's up for a nomination for US Attorney
- 24:32Speaker 6: for the southern District of West Virginia. So I I
- 24:35Speaker 6: do think that there is some kind of they work
- 24:39Speaker 6: together and they talk, but I do think there's some suspicion,
- 24:43Speaker 6: uh going forward, which probably colors all those relationships.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I'm talking to Steven Allen Adams of of Ogden Newspapers,
- 24:51Speaker 3: And again, you can have in a world of politics,
- 24:56Speaker 3: you can have your as you said, your your factions
- 25:01Speaker 3: or you know, this person could support that person and
- 25:03Speaker 3: whatever and still work together.
- 25:05Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 25:05Speaker 3: I mean we kind of forget that sometimes.
- 25:08Speaker 6: Yeah, And I think that does ultimately happen. But I've
- 25:11Speaker 6: said this on this show and I've said this on
- 25:13Speaker 6: other shows before. Nature bores a vacuum, and right now
- 25:18Speaker 6: we don't have a very competitive state Democratic Party at all.
- 25:23Speaker 6: And no disrespect to Delgate Mike Pushkin the chairman of
- 25:26Speaker 6: the Democratic Party. I know he's doing the best that
- 25:28Speaker 6: he can, and some of that may reverse over the
- 25:30Speaker 6: next few years, over the next few decades, we'll see.
- 25:33Speaker 6: But because they don't have a very competitive, you know,
- 25:38Speaker 6: opposing party, the factions you're now seeing are within the
- 25:41Speaker 6: Republican Party itself. Between those that would be probably considered
- 25:45Speaker 6: conservative a few years ago but are now concerned moderates.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Those are those that are probably further to the right,
- 25:52Speaker 6: so light conservative, you know, light red conservative, dark red conservative,
- 25:57Speaker 6: and you're seeing those factions constantly now, but it took
- 26:00Speaker 6: a few years for that to come out.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Going back to the state convention for the Republicans this
- 26:06Speaker 3: weekend in Morgantown, are you hearing what I'm hearing that
- 26:08Speaker 3: there could possibly be a move by some to open
- 26:11Speaker 3: the primaries back up.
- 26:12Speaker 6: Yes, I think someone will offer that motion. How far
- 26:17Speaker 6: that will get, I don't know. I'm trying to remember
- 26:20Speaker 6: to vote off the top of my head, because I
- 26:22Speaker 6: covered that meeting. When they did it, it was relatively close,
- 26:26Speaker 6: so it could go back the other direction. And I
- 26:28Speaker 6: kind of figured, even you know, a year and a
- 26:31Speaker 6: half ago, when they made that decision, I sort of
- 26:34Speaker 6: figured they'd revisit that the closer you get to twenty
- 26:36Speaker 6: twenty six, because I mean, where at least voters are
- 26:39Speaker 6: going to go. They assume that they're going to flip,
- 26:41Speaker 6: you know, their registrations over to R and vote in
- 26:45Speaker 6: that primary maybe, or they might not vote at all
- 26:48Speaker 6: in the primary at all, and then they might be
- 26:52Speaker 6: inclined to vote for a different party or not vote
- 26:56Speaker 6: at all because you know, failed disenfranchised in the general election.
- 26:59Speaker 6: So and keep in mind Democrats haven't closed their primary
- 27:03Speaker 6: to independent voters. So I mean, do you really want
- 27:06Speaker 6: to do that. I mean, I think you're going to
- 27:09Speaker 6: see some rethinking of that decision. To closer we get
- 27:12Speaker 6: the next Saturday.
- 27:14Speaker 3: The Steven Allen Adams is here. And I have been
- 27:16Speaker 3: told by some of my friends that represent southern West Virginia.
- 27:20Speaker 3: I think logan mingo, h you know, those areas that.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Matter of fact, one elected official told me that he
- 27:28Speaker 3: or she was against the move from day one, and
- 27:31Speaker 3: they're a registered Republican. They said, because it's going to
- 27:34Speaker 3: hurt you in southern West Virginia. Oh for sure, for sure.
- 27:38Speaker 6: I mean that was always that was the argument that
- 27:41Speaker 6: was made during the winter meeting where they made this
- 27:43Speaker 6: decision as well. Now, a lot of those people did
- 27:46Speaker 6: flip over to Republican. That's what's driven the numbers which
- 27:49Speaker 6: keep going up for Republicans and voter registration they keep increasing,
- 27:53Speaker 6: Democrat registration keeps decreasing. So it's happening, but it's happening
- 27:57Speaker 6: pretty slow because, as you know, from southern West Virginia,
- 28:00Speaker 6: my wife's from southern West Virginia. I've talked to a
- 28:02Speaker 6: lot of people down there who have made the switch
- 28:04Speaker 6: from Democrat to independent because while they aligned with President
- 28:07Speaker 6: Trump or with Republican political philosophy right now, they remember
- 28:12Speaker 6: what their grandparents told them, like, you know, I'll roll
- 28:14Speaker 6: over my grave if you switch over to a Republican.
- 28:17Speaker 6: So it's safer for them to just do it as
- 28:19Speaker 6: an independent. Maybe it'll get to a Republican one day,
- 28:22Speaker 6: but they're not there yet, and there's a lot of
- 28:25Speaker 6: people in southern West Virginia to feel that way.

- 28:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I think it's probably likely that they
- 28:49Speaker 6: will stay the course, but they're will certainly being attempted,
- 28:53Speaker 6: and we'll see if it's still narrow or maybe if
- 28:57Speaker 6: the vote margin has widened. But I do you think
- 29:00Speaker 6: that there are some that still think that's a huge mistake,
- 29:02Speaker 6: and they'll certainly at least try to put that option
- 29:06Speaker 6: on the table. Where you look at what are you
- 29:07Speaker 6: working on today, Stephen Well today looking at some campaign
- 29:11Speaker 6: finance numbers for US Senate, particularly in US Senator Shelley
- 29:15Speaker 6: Moore Capitol's primary.
- 29:17Speaker 3: There's some numbers up for that.
- 29:19Speaker 6: Now. You got Tom Willis, the state senator out of
- 29:21Speaker 6: Berkeley County. He doesn't have any donations yet, but he
- 29:24Speaker 6: does have a celf loan out there, pretty substantial one
- 29:29Speaker 6: someone look at in the LA. But otherwise, I think
- 29:31Speaker 6: we're waiting for the possibility of a state Supreme Court
- 29:34Speaker 6: justice to be announced this week. We're waiting on the
- 29:36Speaker 6: disaster declaration from Ohio Marion Counties. I think that's going
- 29:38Speaker 6: to come at the beginning of this week.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Senator Capito said that she was expected by midweek. I think, yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 3: I think that's what I heard. Yeah, that's right.
- 29:45Speaker 6: So there's all sorts of things that could happen this
- 29:48Speaker 6: week and make it pretty interesting.
- 29:49Speaker 3: All right, Steven, Remind people where they can read your stuff.
- 29:52Speaker 6: Pegersburg New's in Sentinel, Wheeling Intelligencer. We're in Daily Times,

- 32:07Speaker 3: It's twenty one minutes away from ten tex says, which
- 32:09Speaker 3: someone would approach Boskov's department store for park plays in
- 32:12Speaker 3: South Charleston. Really a great move for the Clarksburg Bridgeport area.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Would be a great move for this area too, Texas Day.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Have you ever noticed Trump always denies he knows people
- 32:22Speaker 3: that he's sexually assaulted, or pedophiles he's been friends with,
- 32:24Speaker 3: or criminals that have been convicted of crimes, But the
- 32:27Speaker 3: truth always comes out he knew all those people, so
- 32:29Speaker 3: how could anyone believe him? He's a habitual liar, proven facts.

- 32:52Speaker 7: How are you?
- 32:53Speaker 3: My friend? You and I Frank Mallin's playing a little
- 32:56Speaker 3: catch up out there. He wanted to make sure he
- 32:57Speaker 3: saw you.
- 32:59Speaker 10: He is knocking it out of the park down there.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm knocking it out of the park place.
- 33:04Speaker 10: I was so concerned when that happened, and I said,
- 33:07Speaker 10: right here on this radio, I said, Frank's making a
- 33:11Speaker 10: bet on retail and I'm for him, but I take
- 33:14Speaker 10: the other side, and he is just killing him dout.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Charleston is a pretty good place to be.
- 33:18Speaker 10: It's real exciting.
- 33:20Speaker 3: I just wish and look, this is me just being
- 33:23Speaker 3: a little bit overly critical. I guess I just wish
- 33:27Speaker 3: that people anytime and for any town, people always say, well,
- 33:30Speaker 3: this town needs this, and it's that, and it's always
- 33:32Speaker 3: a chain. I just wish people would get as excited
- 33:36Speaker 3: about local businesses. You are a local restaurant tour you
- 33:39Speaker 3: know for many, many years, several different places. I just,
- 33:42Speaker 3: I mean, I know we all want what we want,
- 33:44Speaker 3: and we want the national chains, but man, I just
- 33:46Speaker 3: I want people to get excited about local stuff too.
- 33:49Speaker 10: Well. He McDonald's wanted to go in there. He said, no,
- 33:53Speaker 10: there's not going to be a McDonald's. We already have
- 33:54Speaker 10: a McDonald's. We don't need fourteen McDonald Yeah.
- 33:57Speaker 3: I mean, I like McDonald's much as the next person.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Just tell Millie Snyder that. But I just I wish
- 34:03Speaker 3: people would get as excited about the local stuff. On
- 34:06Speaker 3: the all the weekend news shows. You watch him, I
- 34:08Speaker 3: watch him, Danny, I watched most of them yesterday. It
- 34:11Speaker 3: seems like all the talk is on the Epstein files.
- 34:14Speaker 10: That's the turning point, you think, So, yeah, okay, I've
- 34:17Speaker 10: never said that before. And despite the fact I didn't
- 34:24Speaker 10: vote for him, I left the Republican Party over him,
- 34:27Speaker 10: I think that's a turning point. Turning point meaning what explained,
- 34:31Speaker 10: because he's on his way out, and I'll tell you
- 34:33Speaker 10: how it'll happen out of office or just out of power.
- 34:36Speaker 10: Out of office.
- 34:37Speaker 3: You're going down the are now saying that you think
- 34:39Speaker 3: Donald Trump's on his way out of office.
- 34:40Speaker 10: It's not going to be tomorrow or even next year.
- 34:43Speaker 10: I think by my son, my youngest son's birthday February
- 34:50Speaker 10: twenty eight, twenty twenty seven, I think he'll be going.
- 34:53Speaker 3: About twenty seven, not twenty six.
- 34:54Speaker 10: That's correct.
- 34:55Speaker 3: And what's going to lead to that in your opinion, Well,
- 34:58Speaker 3: it started with.
- 34:59Speaker 10: This and him turning on his own supporters, and I
- 35:04Speaker 10: can't believe he's still got forty percent. Heck, when Nixon
- 35:09Speaker 10: people didn't think that poorly about Nixon, he had twenty
- 35:12Speaker 10: five percent. Senator Bird wanted the trial to go on.
- 35:15Speaker 10: He said, we need to be concerned about these twenty
- 35:17Speaker 10: five percent that think he didn't do anything wrong, because
- 35:26Speaker 10: that amount of people that think he doesn't do anything
- 35:29Speaker 10: wrong leads to what we're in this country today.
- 35:32Speaker 3: I think it's interesting that some of the names that
- 35:34Speaker 3: are out there, you said, some of his supporters, people
- 35:37Speaker 3: are have been so totally obsessed with this, even people
- 35:40Speaker 3: that don't follow politics. Have been so totally obsessed with
- 35:43Speaker 3: this thing. Marjorie Taylor Green was one that wants it
- 35:48Speaker 3: fully investigated. Mike Johnson was another one. Yeah, I know,
- 35:51Speaker 3: Marjorie Tayler Green. No, everybody's thinking about themselves, do you
- 35:55Speaker 3: think so?
- 35:56Speaker 10: Oh? Yeah, they had a congressman from Louisiana and I
- 36:01Speaker 10: can't think his name. Yesterday. I wish everybody could have
- 36:04Speaker 10: seen him. He's got it right. He's a Southern boy.
- 36:07Speaker 10: And you know, also, I was waiting for Donna Brazil
- 36:11Speaker 10: to say something kind about him.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Oh you're talking.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Okay, now, wait matute, I think my shows might be
- 36:15Speaker 3: getting mixed up here. You're talking about I think he
- 36:18Speaker 3: was from Tennessee. Okay, that was on this week. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 3: he was from Tennessee. I can't think of his name,
- 36:23Speaker 3: but yeah, he was from Tennessee.
- 36:24Speaker 10: Well he's he's a good man. I urged people to
- 36:28Speaker 10: go watch it. Can I get something in My sister
- 36:33Speaker 10: fell down the steps and in her home and she's
- 36:38Speaker 10: paralyzed from the neck down, and I just want to
- 36:42Speaker 10: see if people would pray.
- 36:44Speaker 3: For Okay, I'm sorry, Danny, I didn't was this something
- 36:47Speaker 3: happened recently?
- 36:48Speaker 10: Or oh three days ago.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Oh okay, Well I didn't know, and I.
- 36:52Speaker 10: Asked her, you know, she doesn't understand why I like
- 36:56Speaker 10: all this publicity. But I said, please say that, and
- 37:00Speaker 10: she said, okay, but.
- 37:02Speaker 3: I mean, is the paralysis permanent?
- 37:04Speaker 10: No, I don't think so. As a matter of fact,
- 37:07Speaker 10: she's able to wigger her toes and her fingers. Okay,
- 37:11Speaker 10: which if you, if you, if you're in that situation,
- 37:13Speaker 10: that's a heck of a good sign. And and what
- 37:17Speaker 10: what made that work was she is athletic, she was
- 37:20Speaker 10: she you know, I had my pool. I was a swimmer.
- 37:23Speaker 10: The day I got diagnosed with cancer, I swim two
- 37:26Speaker 10: miles and I never swam that much after that. Just
- 37:31Speaker 10: and then and plus she exercises. She goes to one
- 37:36Speaker 10: of the exercises places.
- 37:39Speaker 3: So I just I just won't absolutely, I mean, And
- 37:42Speaker 3: so those of you that are the the brain type,
- 37:45Speaker 3: if you'd say a prayer for dan what's her name.
- 37:47Speaker 10: Laura Patterson?
- 37:49Speaker 3: Laura, prayer for Laura Patterson, Danny's sister. Appreciate you you
- 37:53Speaker 3: sharing that here, and her thoughts and prayers are with
- 37:55Speaker 3: you and with her.
- 37:56Speaker 10: Now now about that book, Okay, all right, we're we're
- 38:00Speaker 10: moving quickly.
- 38:01Speaker 3: And and in case you missed the show last week,
- 38:03Speaker 3: we spent the variety of the majority of the time
- 38:06Speaker 3: talking about Danny Jones's book. Does that have a title yet?
- 38:10Speaker 3: Do you want to say yet?
- 38:11Speaker 10: Call me Danny, Call me Danny. My mother would never
- 38:14Speaker 10: call me Danny. And you know it was a part
- 38:18Speaker 10: of the competitiveness of our relationship. But it's your fault
- 38:27Speaker 10: that it's that it's going to come out. It's my
- 38:29Speaker 10: fault that fairly soon, okay, tax me. I'm very grateful
- 38:33Speaker 10: because you said, well, are we going to get any recipes?
- 38:36Speaker 10: And I said, that'll be in the next book. And
- 38:40Speaker 10: that's when I said, Charlie, you're eighty five. I'll be
- 38:44Speaker 10: sing Ryan, we're talking about Charles Ryan. I said, you're yes,
- 38:47Speaker 10: you're eighty five, and I'm going to be seventy five.
- 38:50Speaker 10: We need to live to enjoy this. And he's really
- 38:53Speaker 10: he's really knocking out of the park and we're doing
- 38:56Speaker 10: it together, which is a labor of love for me,
- 38:59Speaker 10: but also you know, that's just that's what he does.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Yeah. Sure, And I read his book. I read I
- 39:05Speaker 3: mean the one that he did, like his autobiography, and
- 39:07Speaker 3: I thought I think I finished it in like a day,
- 39:10Speaker 3: you know, because I couldn't put it down.
- 39:12Speaker 10: Did you did you read the Murder on Stanton Road?
- 39:16Speaker 3: I read parts of it. I did not read the
- 39:18Speaker 3: entire thing. I read where I was all right, nothing
- 39:23Speaker 3: wrong with that.
- 39:23Speaker 10: But I said, you wrote two books about one house.
- 39:28Speaker 10: I said, we can write two books about one person.
- 39:32Speaker 10: We'll just do volume one and volume two.
- 39:35Speaker 3: I love it.
- 39:35Speaker 10: What do you think?
- 39:36Speaker 12: I love it?
- 39:36Speaker 10: And I got the idea from this show. It wasn't
- 39:39Speaker 10: your fault. I'm grateful because we I think Charlie thinks
- 39:43Speaker 10: we can get out by October, but I think it'll
- 39:46Speaker 10: be Christmas well.
- 39:47Speaker 3: I mean to be a great Christmas gift. And of
- 39:48Speaker 3: course it'll be available in the UH online, I'm sure,
- 39:52Speaker 3: and hopefully can get in some of the local you know,
- 39:54Speaker 3: the local places as well.
- 39:55Speaker 10: It's very hard to to just skim a book mm hmm.
- 40:00Speaker 10: And my side is not what it used to be,
- 40:03Speaker 10: so i'd really listen to books, and I just recommend
- 40:07Speaker 10: one listen to Jake Tappers, both original sin. Don't don't
- 40:12Speaker 10: be lost in your philosophical his philosophical leanings that's opposed
- 40:16Speaker 10: to yours. It's a great books.
- 40:19Speaker 3: What I've heard. I've read excerpts of it too, but
- 40:21Speaker 3: I haven't read the entire thing. We're talking to to
- 40:23Speaker 3: Danny Danny Jones to work. So the book is going
- 40:25Speaker 3: to be called call Me Danny. It's not going to
- 40:29Speaker 3: be called I used to be famous, because that's your
- 40:31Speaker 3: favorite line. You're still famous, Danny.
- 40:35Speaker 10: I have a lot of fun. I'm I have a
- 40:39Speaker 10: lot of fun. I mean, Charles West Virginia is my
- 40:43Speaker 10: DNA is in the streets. I don't understand why people
- 40:47Speaker 10: left here. I get angry about it.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Well I mean people, I mean, you know, and we
- 40:52Speaker 3: we have this discussion about the regatta, and I get
- 40:55Speaker 3: texted the show all the time where people say they
- 40:57Speaker 3: need to, you know, do one or two things. They
- 40:59Speaker 3: need to bring the regatta back like it was Okay,
- 41:01Speaker 3: that's not going to happen, you know that. And they
- 41:04Speaker 3: need to move the dates well because school starts now,
- 41:06Speaker 3: like you know, August fifth or something ridiculous like that.
- 41:09Speaker 3: That's not going to happen. But the regatta is never
- 41:12Speaker 3: going to be the ten day or whatever it was
- 41:13Speaker 3: festival years ago. And I wish more people would realize
- 41:16Speaker 3: that because the money's not here and the population's not here.
- 41:19Speaker 10: I changed it, saved it, and canceled it. I changed it.
- 41:25Speaker 10: I saved it on two thousand with the help of
- 41:28Speaker 10: some other radio stations and Dickey Barber and Bud Weiser.
- 41:35Speaker 10: And two thousand and seven we couldn't get anybody. We
- 41:40Speaker 10: didn't have any American Rescue playing or anything, so we
- 41:43Speaker 10: couldn't get any sponsored, not one. So we had to
- 41:46Speaker 10: cancel it because we I'd already started at festival, said well,
- 41:50Speaker 10: you just replaced it. They're not really We didn't have
- 41:54Speaker 10: the money and Charleston, you know, we were slowly losing
- 41:59Speaker 10: our base. We lost the mall between thirteen and fourteen.
- 42:03Speaker 10: I just go down there to spend the night at
- 42:06Speaker 10: the all night of going to that Black Friday, and
- 42:11Speaker 10: it was packed on the thirteenth, and there was almost
- 42:13Speaker 10: nobody on the fourteenth.

- 45:21Speaker 3: from tim to day Island Show and five Eddieline Brown
- 45:23Speaker 3: Tom parted by Husband's Pizza. This month by any regularly
- 45:25Speaker 3: priced large eighteen inch pizza got the two leader of
- 45:29Speaker 3: Pepsi at no additional charge. Finding hers Hustin's at husbands
- 45:31Speaker 3: Pizza dot Com for Charles Mayor. Danny Jones is here
- 45:34Speaker 3: and I understand we have a phone call. So let's oh,
- 45:37Speaker 3: we don't have a phone call. Oh, we just wanted
- 45:39Speaker 3: some information for Danny. Okay, I'm sorry, Ryan, I miss
- 45:42Speaker 3: h I misheard you. Okay, all right, so we had
- 45:44Speaker 3: somebody wanted to give you some information and off the air,
- 45:46Speaker 3: so we'll get that for you later.
- 45:48Speaker 10: And that's somebody was Bob, Bob Brunner, Bob the Truth.
- 45:52Speaker 10: Brunner had Bob on the show before. Now othertimes, you know,
- 45:55Speaker 10: when Don was here, they had a lot more listeners.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Except for, Hey, it's that's supposed to be.
- 46:04Speaker 10: Here. I was down the dial.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Okay, oh, I thought you meant then we do now.
- 46:08Speaker 10: No, no, no, no, no, I'm just kidding with you.
- 46:11Speaker 10: But Don don you know, mix and sports and stuff.
- 46:14Speaker 3: But Don Cook we're talking.
- 46:15Speaker 10: But yeah, and he would he and.
- 46:19Speaker 17: He and.
- 46:20Speaker 3: Brnner Bronner.
- 46:22Speaker 10: You know, Gason was supposed to come to my place,
- 46:24Speaker 10: and Bob the Truth Brunner wouldn't let him come up.
- 46:28Speaker 10: So I started calling him Bob the Truth Bronner, and
- 46:33Speaker 10: people would call Don Cook up and talk save Don. Oh,
- 46:37Speaker 10: he's just furious because that's I think. And ready they'll
- 46:39Speaker 10: call that a gorilla tactic.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know you're fighting for gas sometimes.
- 46:44Speaker 3: But uh so again, I keep I keep going back
- 46:48Speaker 3: to the book again. You said it's gonna have a
- 46:50Speaker 3: lot of pictures.
- 46:52Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm spending the money. I'm gonna spend the money
- 46:56Speaker 10: for color and hardback, and I'm Charlie and I. You know,
- 47:02Speaker 10: we're partners on this, and I'm going to and I'm
- 47:05Speaker 10: funding it, and I think we'll end up making a
- 47:08Speaker 10: little money, but I want it to be a first
- 47:12Speaker 10: class operation, right, And it's supposed to go for thirty
- 47:18Speaker 10: four ninety five. I don't want to charge that much.
- 47:21Speaker 10: And you know what, I thought you only made like
- 47:23Speaker 10: a couple of dollars of a book. You you make
- 47:25Speaker 10: almost half.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Are you going to do an audio version of the
- 47:28Speaker 3: book too? I'd like to maybe have you narrating it.
- 47:31Speaker 10: No, not me narrating. I like to narrate the parts
- 47:34Speaker 10: that I wrote and have somebody else do it.
- 47:36Speaker 3: Okay, all right?
- 47:38Speaker 10: And so you know, it's very it's just a very
- 47:44Speaker 10: exciting prospect. Oh god, somebody just walked.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Oh just TJ. He's back from vacation. He's fine. Does
- 47:51Speaker 3: he work there, well, he's he's employed here and how
- 47:54Speaker 3: much work he actually does. But he's back, he's off
- 47:57Speaker 3: of he's dragging sand in here, off of a golf
- 48:00Speaker 3: course from where we're talking to him. In a minute,
- 48:02Speaker 3: I want to get your opinion on something going back
- 48:03Speaker 3: to national politics for a moment, saw last night where
- 48:05Speaker 3: the president or sometime yesterday on Truth Social, his social
- 48:09Speaker 3: media platform. His new cause now is that he wants
- 48:12Speaker 3: the team formerly known as the Washington Redskins and the
- 48:15Speaker 3: team formerly known as the Cleveland Indians to change their
- 48:18Speaker 3: names back the Indians, of course, the Guardians now after
- 48:22Speaker 3: they're after the Guardian Bridge in Cleveland, and the Washington
- 48:25Speaker 3: Tony Parrenzino's Redskins are now the are now the commanders.
- 48:29Speaker 3: And this is what our president seems to be occupied
- 48:33Speaker 3: with now very quickly.
- 48:34Speaker 10: Yeah, let's just talk about Washington.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 48:39Speaker 10: When they were building the apartment building, I'm in all
- 48:42Speaker 10: the guys through and triball. I thought they were Cajun.
- 48:46Speaker 10: They sounded dislike it. I said, are you off, Louise,
- 48:48Speaker 10: Then it's a North Carolina, North Carolina. Yeah, we're American Indian.
- 48:53Speaker 10: And they were delightful, and they had two leaders and
- 48:57Speaker 10: they were in the place. I said, well, you know,
- 48:58Speaker 10: they're going to change the name with the Redskins. And
- 49:02Speaker 10: he said, he said, what's been that way for a
- 49:05Speaker 10: long time? He said, Deanna said, is that okay with you?
- 49:09Speaker 12: Oh?
- 49:09Speaker 10: Yeah, you know. He didn't care, but a lot of
- 49:12Speaker 10: people do care. The problem is it's just a continuation
- 49:16Speaker 10: of Donald Trump wasting political capital to gas light diversionary tactics. Yeah,
- 49:26Speaker 10: and the same way with all these names. We've gotten
- 49:28Speaker 10: through it. You want to name name it back? Fine?
- 49:33Speaker 10: I mean I said Redskins for you know, I was
- 49:36Speaker 10: watching the fifties and you know when Reigns was playing,
- 49:41Speaker 10: I think that's what his name was. It was a
- 49:44Speaker 10: great team.
- 49:45Speaker 13: All right.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Let me read a text here, Wow, says the texture.
- 49:48Speaker 3: The revelation of Obama and his Marxist minions being behind
- 49:52Speaker 3: the Russian Gate lie not being mentioned is despicable. The
- 49:55Speaker 3: story makes it crystal clear why Barry bought himself an
- 49:58Speaker 3: eight million dollar home in DC after his term ended.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Who stays in d C after they leave office. It's
- 50:03Speaker 3: time for treason trials.
- 50:04Speaker 10: It is. That is the most ridiculous accusation, and it's
- 50:08Speaker 10: typical of this administration to make such And he can't
- 50:13Speaker 10: defend himself, you know, needs to defend him one of
- 50:17Speaker 10: two people, now, I'll do you. The first one George W.
- 50:20Speaker 10: Bush and the second one is Mike Pence. Not a
- 50:23Speaker 10: bunch of people, both two Republicans and George Bush. Despite
- 50:27Speaker 10: that war, it's still well thought of, a very decent,
- 50:31Speaker 10: religious human being. It's totally untrue.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Have you seen the latest approval ratings Danny for Democrats nationwide?
- 50:41Speaker 3: I mean, I know we're in West Virginia, but somewhere
- 50:44Speaker 3: on the nationwide level the Democratic approval ratings like somewhere
- 50:47Speaker 3: near the stomach flew. I mean, at this point, it's
- 50:50Speaker 3: not good. You're head of the I'm going to make
- 50:52Speaker 3: you head of the Democratic Now the DNC, you're head
- 50:55Speaker 3: of the National Committee. How do you fix it?
- 50:57Speaker 10: You can't. I would. I would say, if you want
- 50:59Speaker 10: to win elections, follow Josh Shapiro and the governor of
- 51:08Speaker 10: Colorado and the Republican governor of Utah. I am a
- 51:13Speaker 10: mainstream guy, completely mainstream, capable of making mistakes. I did
- 51:20Speaker 10: that what what we just started in a mistake. But
- 51:25Speaker 10: I like to appeal to the middle. But you don't
- 51:27Speaker 10: do it, and it's all anger on both sides, and
- 51:31Speaker 10: you guess who the leading. You know, there's that that
- 51:34Speaker 10: election a year away.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Older adults should protect themselves against severe respiratory disease. Talk
- 51:41Speaker 3: to your doctor about flu, COVID nineteen and RSV vaccines riskless,
- 51:44Speaker 3: do more get started vaccines dot gov paid for by
- 51:46Speaker 3: the US Department of Health and Human Services. Danny, don't
- 51:49Speaker 3: leave again. About a minute or so left. TJ. Meadows
- 51:51Speaker 3: is here back from vacation with talk like I want
- 51:53Speaker 3: to get your you're taking what what Danny Jones just
- 51:56Speaker 3: said TJ that he thinks that by February twenty twenty seven,
- 52:00Speaker 3: Donald Trump will not be in office. Possible, very possible.
- 52:04Speaker 3: I'd have to think more about the date.
- 52:05Speaker 17: But let me tell you this, Danny is absolutely right
- 52:07Speaker 17: about what Tulsea Gabbard did on Friday. That was outright
- 52:10Speaker 17: responsible and at best, there is no At best, she
- 52:14Speaker 17: flat out lied, conflating the facts. No one ever said
- 52:18Speaker 17: that Russia hacked the voting systems and the tallies. It's
- 52:21Speaker 17: hacking in the terms of social hacking, creating disinformation campaigns
- 52:25Speaker 17: on Facebook, conflating the two and try to.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Sell it to take us and our eye off the
- 52:29Speaker 3: ball with Epstein.
- 52:30Speaker 10: What he said, Yeah, promo material right there?
- 52:34Speaker 3: Ryan? All right, TJ? Real quick? What you got comed
- 52:37Speaker 3: up on the show today?
