- 2:55Speaker 1: I'm happy it didn't. Well, look it ended up working
- 2:59Speaker 1: out well, it was. It was very funny. Yeah, Now
- 3:01Speaker 1: to Jesse and those guys. When we were actually like
- 3:04Speaker 1: trying to record the interview, the fake interview we were
- 3:07Speaker 1: talking about show everybody your nails. You got to fucking
- 3:09Speaker 1: clear polish on them things. Yeah, shining. How often do
- 3:14Speaker 1: you get your nails done? Man? You gotta do the
- 3:17Speaker 1: maintenance on the kuchie grippers at least once a week,
- 3:21Speaker 1: every two weeks. The couchie grippers. I like that, mm correct,
- 3:27Speaker 1: the consensual couchie grippers every time, every time, gotta be
- 3:30Speaker 1: right every time. That's I think more dude should get
- 3:33Speaker 1: their nails done. Yeah, things be sleeping. I think it's
- 3:38Speaker 1: just laziness and it's just honestly, I was raised to
- 3:42Speaker 1: go to the nail shop. You were raised that way. Yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 1: My dad and my mama fuck with it tough, just going,
- 3:48Speaker 1: always have so they will always bring me up being going.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Which side of your family is the Filipino side? It's
- 3:54Speaker 1: always the mama's side, the mom's side. Yeah, yeah, it's
- 3:56Speaker 1: always the mama's side, right right, right, right right, Like like,
- 3:59Speaker 1: who's the Philippine dude baging? Like you know, a bad,
- 4:01Speaker 1: a bad lovely you know, sister from Oakland, maybe in
- 4:05Speaker 1: the Bay, like maybe like maybe Pilo right like maybe
- 4:08Speaker 1: Pilo out for sure. Maybe definitely not Nico, definitely not Miko.
- 4:15Speaker 1: He can't even get the third camera working. Yeah, he's
- 4:17Speaker 1: he I'm just playing Nico. I love you yo. So, uh,
- 4:25Speaker 1: you know you're embracing the Filipino side. You're doing an
- 4:28Speaker 1: album with the with eighty eight Rising, and you know
- 4:31Speaker 1: you were telling me you did like the Virtual Festival. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 1: it was super tight. We we wanted to bring this
- 4:40Speaker 1: album to ady A Rising because of the Filipino aspect
- 4:45Speaker 1: and uh, kind of like the next step aspect. I
- 4:47Speaker 1: feel like I love a lot of their narrative content
- 4:51Speaker 1: and a lot of their story based stuff, their documentary stuff,
- 4:53Speaker 1: and their videos are crazy. It's just amazing and I
- 4:56Speaker 1: already got crazy videos, so it's type for me to
- 5:00Speaker 1: connect with them with a team that already came up
- 5:02Speaker 1: with Chris Simmons and the people that we use on
- 5:05Speaker 1: our shoots and be competing and swinging at the same level. Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 1: some of this stuff you were saying earlier that like
- 5:13Speaker 1: Pinch was like the common denominator to kind of you know,
- 5:16Speaker 1: maybe connect you guys a bit. It was a lot
- 5:18Speaker 1: of things, but that was like the first one because
- 5:20Speaker 1: he was performing at day Festival, the Head in the
- 5:22Speaker 1: Clouds thing, and I was in this trailer navigating, meeting people,
- 5:27Speaker 1: renting to Bryant. We met physically for the first time.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Then we had already had mutual people just because of
- 5:33Speaker 1: Duckworth and the homie drew Banga from the Bay. You
- 5:36Speaker 1: it's crazy because I told this to Brian, Like, what
- 5:39Speaker 1: was that album he put out, Nico a couple of
- 5:41Speaker 1: years ago, Sailor. Yeah, that shit was crazy. But I
- 5:44Speaker 1: feel like he like kind of like really improved as
- 5:47Speaker 1: a fucking rapper, like heavily. Like no, he's dope. Yeah,
- 5:51Speaker 1: And I feel like You've always been dope as a rapper,
- 5:54Speaker 1: but I feel like people haven't seen you in that light.
- 5:56Speaker 1: And I feel like, you know, obviously the dream Bill
- 5:59Speaker 1: thing helped, but I also feel like the quarantine bars,
- 6:02Speaker 1: like you wrap it on Instagram, the Rona wraps, whatever
- 6:05Speaker 1: you were doing was fucking It's dope because I think
- 6:08Speaker 1: it like, first of all, perfect bit to do for
- 6:12Speaker 1: you know, the pandemic expects because you were doing that
- 6:15Speaker 1: shit early, like right off the rip. But I also
- 6:17Speaker 1: think it kind of just showcased like your like your
- 6:20Speaker 1: capabilities as an MC. Did you get a lot of love, like,
- 6:24Speaker 1: Hella love I got, I got all the love I was.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I feel like I was supposed to get or that
- 6:31Speaker 1: I could merit at the time. From that, I do
- 6:35Speaker 1: still wish it. I could have did more episodes, but
- 6:38Speaker 1: it just was so hard to manage after a certain point,
- 6:41Speaker 1: just like hounding niggas down to wrap in their house
- 6:45Speaker 1: as soon as the world start opening up or we
- 6:47Speaker 1: thought it was Ronner Raps was done. Yeah, you were
- 6:51Speaker 1: like early like when we was really like hunger down
- 6:53Speaker 1: at the crib. Figured that shit out a week and
- 6:56Speaker 1: to me being home, it was Sam's idea. Nice. Sam
- 6:59Speaker 1: brought it up because I told her we was trying
- 7:02Speaker 1: to play content. I told him Abo wanted to do
- 7:03Speaker 1: freestyles and ship, so he was like, you might as
- 7:06Speaker 1: well freestyle with your prot hiss day at home too. Yep.
- 7:10Speaker 1: It was like Joey Badass was on there, Whiz Whiz,
- 7:13Speaker 1: Chris Brown, Buddy Currency Earth Gang Mergers was there someone
- 7:21Speaker 1: who's Brown sent you there rap and he were like,
- 7:23Speaker 1: fuck Mike, he bothered me this week. Currency Currency another
- 7:30Speaker 1: another like currency went so did so tight for one
- 7:35Speaker 1: that he cut time off the end of his verse.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Sent it again. It was like I rapped too long
- 7:40Speaker 1: the first time because this nigga just caught up body
- 7:42Speaker 1: while he was playing with his hot wheels in his
- 7:44Speaker 1: closet and started freestylingh Currency's original verse for runner Rest
- 7:48Speaker 1: that he sent me was like three minutes long. Oh shit, no,
- 7:51Speaker 1: he rapped forever, and I was like, I mean, it's
- 7:54Speaker 1: too long for us to post up. I know. I
- 7:58Speaker 1: was telling people there is no limit, but Currency really
- 8:01Speaker 1: likes So it's like some of the people who did
- 8:02Speaker 1: the Rona raps, like some of those people you don't
- 8:05Speaker 1: have music with. So I'm assuming you're fans and then
- 8:08Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I mean, to my knowledge, you and
- 8:10Speaker 1: Currency don't have music. No, we do you do? Okay? Yeah?
- 8:13Speaker 1: Currency did a project with DJ Fresh shot out DJ
- 8:16Speaker 1: Fresh from the Bay, and I was featured on there.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I got a song called easy Heart with Currency. It's
- 8:23Speaker 1: actually one of my best best, my best guest verst verses. Yeah.
- 8:27Speaker 1: If you know spit is on it, you gotta come
- 8:28Speaker 1: with your shit. Oh for I skated on that, bitch,
- 8:31Speaker 1: I skated floated. I love that verse and the fans
- 8:34Speaker 1: love it too, Like people really enjoyed us talk about
- 8:37Speaker 1: the title of the upcoming album and why it is, like,
- 8:40Speaker 1: give us the background of the title, it's called eleven
- 8:42Speaker 1: seventy six and that is the address of the house
- 8:45Speaker 1: that I grew up in in Oakland. I know a
- 8:49Speaker 1: lot of people have attachments, like if you if we
- 8:54Speaker 1: look at all the album covers, a lot of people
- 8:55Speaker 1: have attachments to like the childhood homes, yeah yeah, and
- 8:59Speaker 1: baby picked juice And so this is my version of that.
- 9:02Speaker 1: But in personal project, yeah a way more, you know,
- 9:05Speaker 1: all the way me way. It's like my full narrative.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And I feel like I really wanted to get this
- 9:12Speaker 1: off my chest so I could move past it creatively
- 9:15Speaker 1: just about talking about my origins, because that's what the
- 9:18Speaker 1: album is really. It's an origin story for me where
- 9:21Speaker 1: I'm able to talk about certain things that hurt me,
- 9:23Speaker 1: certain things that helped me, certain things that got me lit,
- 9:27Speaker 1: just my whole lifestyle before I moved to La. Do
- 9:30Speaker 1: you think because you're known for I would say, like
- 9:34Speaker 1: people know you as a personality, as a character, right,
- 9:38Speaker 1: they know you to be fucking hilarious, the scammer shit
- 9:41Speaker 1: all that. Does that ever hurt you as an artist?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Like having have you ever like ran into issues where
- 9:47Speaker 1: you feel like people didn't take you serious because they
- 9:48Speaker 1: look at you more as like the funny ass dude.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Has that ever been something you've noticed happening. Yeah, I
- 9:55Speaker 1: mean people have done that all my life. It's just
- 9:59Speaker 1: like it's like it that way when you I feel like,
- 10:02Speaker 1: when you look the way I do and you carry
- 10:04Speaker 1: yourself the way I do, I'm always in between worlds. Yeah,
- 10:07Speaker 1: Like I've always been the kind of creative, eclectic kid
- 10:11Speaker 1: at the same time, I'm from Oakland Senior. I's fenna
- 10:14Speaker 1: do blood like. It's it's really a duality that come
- 10:18Speaker 1: on my existence and that's part of the fault of
- 10:21Speaker 1: people not being fully tapped in with that. So I
- 10:24Speaker 1: don't I don't blame them. I'm not mad at it.
- 10:27Speaker 1: It was a time when that was frustrating, but uh,
- 10:31Speaker 1: that didn't last too long, right, And I feel like
- 10:34Speaker 1: I feel like too, just like the last couple of years,
- 10:36Speaker 1: some of the looks and like people who have co
- 10:38Speaker 1: signed you, and you know, I feel like that probably
- 10:40Speaker 1: alleviated some of that as well. Honestly, the Dreamville shit
- 10:44Speaker 1: to keep it, honey, that was like my last chip
- 10:47Speaker 1: on my shoulder, where like I went there trying to
- 10:50Speaker 1: trying to like prove that I belong and I am
- 10:55Speaker 1: one of the best niggas that it can make a
- 10:57Speaker 1: song that y'all can invite, right and after that and
- 11:01Speaker 1: then we went to the Grammys. In that whole ship,
- 11:04Speaker 1: I started moving different creative we still I'm learning how
- 11:08Speaker 1: to scale back certain aspects of just like being Hella
- 11:12Speaker 1: good to make to make the overall experience of the
- 11:16Speaker 1: song more enjoyable, because sometimes you got pull punches, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: but like that comes with time. So I'm not mad
- 11:24Speaker 1: at people for trying to It's human nature to look
- 11:27Speaker 1: at this as an ashtray and not as a cup holder,
- 11:31Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It could I could have
- 11:34Speaker 1: put my I actually want to move this cup because
- 11:36Speaker 1: it's it's empty and it looks ghetto. You know, we
- 11:39Speaker 1: just get rid of it. See if Nego can dispose
- 11:42Speaker 1: of a cup, he can't get the third camera working
- 11:47Speaker 1: camera this whole podcast. Yeah. No, like with the Dream
- 11:52Speaker 1: Build thing, who who from Dream? But was it? Eb?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Was it? Like? Who was it that originally like tapped
- 11:57Speaker 1: in with you to to become a part of the
- 11:59Speaker 1: Revenge of the Dreamer sessions? Sh Cole? It was, Yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 1: that was the original thing. I met Cole at the
- 12:06Speaker 1: nice guy leaving Drake's New Year's thing, and he was like, YO,
- 12:12Speaker 1: take my number down before you leave. And I texted
- 12:15Speaker 1: him immediately and he text me back. Right, everyone says
- 12:19Speaker 1: that it was so crazy to me. I was like,
- 12:22Speaker 1: I tell that story every time because nobody's ever done that, right, nobody,
- 12:26Speaker 1: especial even people who I'm closer friends with now like Bryson.
- 12:30Speaker 1: When I met Bryson, it took him a minute to
- 12:33Speaker 1: text me back, and I'm hell cool, I'm closer to Bryson,
- 12:36Speaker 1: I am Cole, but that just when he text me
- 12:40Speaker 1: back like that, I was like, damn, I fuck with that.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Hella fuck with that. And the homie Ryan at the time,
- 12:48Speaker 1: who I was fucking around with from a previous A
- 12:51Speaker 1: label situation, Shout Out Fly Rye was also in and
- 12:54Speaker 1: around the Dreamville camp, so we had Cole bringing me
- 12:57Speaker 1: up right like, oh no, I know that, and then
- 13:02Speaker 1: it just kind of fell into place. It worked out beautiful.
- 13:05Speaker 1: You got a Grammy nomination, right ship. That's forever, forever, forever,
- 13:11Speaker 1: forever ever. Yeah, that's beautiful. You know the other thing
- 13:16Speaker 1: too that I wanted to talk to you about because
- 13:18Speaker 1: with the pandemic, you know, you kind of came into
- 13:20Speaker 1: the game kind of uh being nosed as a scammer,
- 13:25Speaker 1: you know what I mean, what kind of it was
- 13:29Speaker 1: that was? Ah, sure, it's still it's still a part
- 13:32Speaker 1: of me. Like I'm I'm revealing uh, chapters of myself
- 13:37Speaker 1: as they come and as I figure out how to
- 13:39Speaker 1: express them creatively. You know. So at first I came
- 13:42Speaker 1: out it was the internet thing. That's what I was on.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I was fucking trying not to scam and I'm just
- 13:47Speaker 1: an Internet baby at heart, so that's what people see
- 13:50Speaker 1: me as. Then it was a rapper because I really
- 13:52Speaker 1: want to be one of the fucking tightiest niggas that
- 13:55Speaker 1: was barred up. So that's what niggas were seeing for me.
- 13:57Speaker 1: And now I'm kind of opening up the full envelope
- 14:00Speaker 1: to just you know, just making good, timeless shit. But
- 14:04Speaker 1: I'm wondering, what the you know, with the pandemic, the
- 14:06Speaker 1: fucking edd shit is booming booming, Like I got friends
- 14:11Speaker 1: of mine that like have made like six figures during
- 14:14Speaker 1: the pandemic off of the d D shit, and I'm
- 14:16Speaker 1: like afraid for them because I'm like, dude, you guys
- 14:19Speaker 1: are kind of turning up a little bit much like,
- 14:22Speaker 1: would there be any sort of advice you give to
- 14:23Speaker 1: anybody who's watching this that might be dabbling in that,
- 14:26Speaker 1: because you know, it's definitely it seems like it's very
- 14:30Speaker 1: easy to get. I mean, for what's available to the
- 14:39Speaker 1: urban community that is a part of the market share
- 14:44Speaker 1: of fraud, all those available or like ready available are
- 14:49Speaker 1: all relatively pretty easy. When it comes to the ed
- 14:52Speaker 1: and any type of current scams. I don't know anything
- 14:55Speaker 1: about none of that shit, but if I had to
- 14:57Speaker 1: give advice to somebody, it would be stay off Instagram. Yeah, man,
- 15:03Speaker 1: that's the thing. People. People be flossing their ship. Like
- 15:06Speaker 1: you saw the guy who shot the music video. Oh
- 15:09Speaker 1: he he. I don't like the slander niggas, but he
- 15:13Speaker 1: was an absolute idiot, the worst. He was probably the
- 15:17Speaker 1: one of the dumbest niggas that we've ever seen ever
- 15:22Speaker 1: who could do that. Like that's he he's out looking
- 15:25Speaker 1: at him the same way some nigga in the bay
- 15:28Speaker 1: just killed two girls and went live on Instagram. That's
- 15:31Speaker 1: all that you've seen that. He's the same. He's the
- 15:33Speaker 1: same type of nigga. It's just his song was catchy,
- 15:36Speaker 1: But that's the same thing. This is a crime dog. Yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 1: and you just in the act when the when the
- 15:44Speaker 1: when the lick is hot and told him where he
- 15:48Speaker 1: was at this nigga was on Rodeo and he was
- 15:51Speaker 1: still there showing the envelopes and ship. Yeah, like what
- 15:55Speaker 1: the Some people are just stupid, but I mean that's
- 15:58Speaker 1: Darwinism though, was that? You know? Obviously that guy did
- 16:01Speaker 1: that for clicks for clout And I feel like when
- 16:05Speaker 1: when when you first came out, I feel like that,
- 16:07Speaker 1: like when people first kind of became hip to you.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I feel like that was the peak of the internet
- 16:13Speaker 1: shit dictating who was getting signed, you know, that was
- 16:18Speaker 1: like it was almost like this battle between like does
- 16:22Speaker 1: the music even fucking matter anymore? Or is it the antics?
- 16:26Speaker 1: Because motherfucking like, you know, ig comedians were getting record
- 16:30Speaker 1: deals and shit and the music was not good. You
- 16:34Speaker 1: kind of I feel like we're like a pick perfect
- 16:36Speaker 1: mixture of like both worlds because you kind of figured
- 16:39Speaker 1: out how to be like funny on the internet, but
- 16:41Speaker 1: your shit was dope. But was that ever like something
- 16:44Speaker 1: like because I feel like to be a dope MC
- 16:49Speaker 1: and to try to make it in that world and
- 16:51Speaker 1: then not have personality, which you obviously have it had
- 16:54Speaker 1: to have been frustrating, but you know, obviously you had
- 16:55Speaker 1: both both sides covered. But but that era, I would say,
- 16:59Speaker 1: like twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen, early twenty eighteen, like it
- 17:02Speaker 1: just was. I feel like it was like a dark
- 17:04Speaker 1: era for music for like the industry. It definitely was.
- 17:08Speaker 1: It was this dark era for creativity as a whole.
- 17:13Speaker 1: We were coming out of the SoundCloud era and all
- 17:17Speaker 1: of the champions from this whole new fucking subgenre that
- 17:21Speaker 1: just went crazy and blew up and inspired all the
- 17:23Speaker 1: youth passed away. Yep. That's depressing as fuck for everybody
- 17:30Speaker 1: that is supposed to be like the Young Foundation moving
- 17:35Speaker 1: into the next generation. In terms of listeners, they were
- 17:39Speaker 1: all devastating and had nothing to be inspired on. Which
- 17:44Speaker 1: is why I feel like a lot of the females
- 17:48Speaker 1: in the game is getting the opportunity now because it
- 17:51Speaker 1: was such a wide open window, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Somebody like Meghan came in, who understood the internet, who's
- 17:57Speaker 1: going viral, who did all the fucking anime Wiya bou shit,
- 18:01Speaker 1: but then also had the music of course, people last
- 18:04Speaker 1: on and that shit. It was just it was so good,
- 18:07Speaker 1: so I think that's tight because I honestly think women
- 18:10Speaker 1: and rap are like shitting on the niggas, right. I
- 18:12Speaker 1: think it's like, I think we're like in the middle
- 18:14Speaker 1: of like the female rapper renaissance. Like well, like this
- 18:17Speaker 1: is like the like we're gonna look back like the
- 18:20Speaker 1: last two or three years, like yo, that it was
- 18:22Speaker 1: so popping. Yeah, Cardy and Sweetie and you had Rap City.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah you had all these We've never seen it, you know,
- 18:30Speaker 1: like forever it was just Nicki period and you see
- 18:33Speaker 1: the only one. Yeah. Before that, it was like Foxy
- 18:35Speaker 1: and you know, I mean there was a you know
- 18:36Speaker 1: the nineties. You know, it was the Brad Foxy Missy,
- 18:39Speaker 1: but like for like twelve years it was just Nicki
- 18:42Speaker 1: Minaj and then you know, I remember she I think
- 18:46Speaker 1: she won the BT Female Rapper of the Year, were
- 18:48Speaker 1: like nine years straight or some shit. You was the
- 18:49Speaker 1: only one, she was the only but she was awesome.
- 18:53Speaker 1: But my thing is, though, because I just had a
- 18:55Speaker 1: debate with somebody about this, Uh, just because she was
- 19:02Speaker 1: the only one. Though, don't take away from how much
- 19:05Speaker 1: of a legend she was, because that's what a lot
- 19:06Speaker 1: of people like to say. She's the grades of all
- 19:08Speaker 1: time female wise same, I just don't. I don't even
- 19:10Speaker 1: think there's a discussion. I think you could. You could
- 19:12Speaker 1: say Lauren Hill based off off of the Score and miseducation,
- 19:15Speaker 1: But as far as like, I think Laura Hill is
- 19:18Speaker 1: a more uh complete artist, like all around. You know
- 19:23Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Because sheets we're talking about MC like Nikki,
- 19:25Speaker 1: like Barred out Hole Monster, do we do people actually
- 19:30Speaker 1: imagine Laura Hill out rapping Nicki Minaj on something? Though,
- 19:33Speaker 1: Like I think she could make a better song, relatively
- 19:36Speaker 1: probably better album. Yeah, but like can she outrap Nikki?
- 19:40Speaker 1: I always say, like, yo, just listen to Monster, like
- 19:42Speaker 1: Nikki destroyed Peak, Ross Peak, Hove Peak, Kanye Bruh do
- 19:46Speaker 1: you do? I mean, I'm an Oakland nigga, so I
- 19:49Speaker 1: come from the I'm a function baby in the function.
- 19:52Speaker 1: If Nicki Minaj remixed a song, I don't give whose
- 19:55Speaker 1: song it was, Wayne j Z. When she did, when
- 19:57Speaker 1: she did, when she first came out, she did she
- 19:59Speaker 1: remember when she did the Dunk remix the Soldier Boys. Yeah,
- 20:01Speaker 1: I was on the plane with Dwayne. I know nis
- 20:06Speaker 1: to go. Yeah, she did go, she could go. I
- 20:09Speaker 1: think she just became a little bit unlikable, definitely, And
- 20:15Speaker 1: I just don't think that Cardi thing helped her because
- 20:17Speaker 1: Cardi was so likable. So it makes people think like
- 20:21Speaker 1: forget like history almost like hey, like, yeah, Carti's hot
- 20:25Speaker 1: and she's much more likable than Nikki, But like you
- 20:28Speaker 1: can't just erase a decade of dominance from like yeah,
- 20:32Speaker 1: I mean yeah, I think that's a problem that that
- 20:38Speaker 1: a lot of OG's face in the game is the
- 20:43Speaker 1: Jay Z quote, will you live long enough to see
- 20:47Speaker 1: yourself become a villain? You rather die here you live
- 20:50Speaker 1: long enough to see yourself become a villain. And I
- 20:52Speaker 1: think that's just an inevitable and wrap look at everybody
- 20:56Speaker 1: who we used to champion that Even I call myself
- 20:59Speaker 1: roasting sometimes but I don't actually mean but like Nigga
- 21:02Speaker 1: that talks shit amongst friends, you know what I'm saying,
- 21:04Speaker 1: Like Eminem, Ludacris, all these people who had all this
- 21:08Speaker 1: type of success, but like just when people get old, bro,
- 21:12Speaker 1: they just aren't cool as they used to be. You
- 21:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, That's just how I go. That's life.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I'm less cool Definitely. I definitely feel like that happened
- 21:22Speaker 1: with m I feel like the album Dropped last year
- 21:24Speaker 1: was his best album in like ten years. But I
- 21:27Speaker 1: feel like there was just a block of Eminem's career
- 21:29Speaker 1: in the last decade where we were just like nobody
- 21:32Speaker 1: want to hear this shit. But he's still rapping at
- 21:34Speaker 1: a superior level. Yeah No, I mean, he's a fucking
- 21:36Speaker 1: all time great. I just don't think the music just
- 21:40Speaker 1: I don't know some of the shit he was putting out,
- 21:42Speaker 1: Like you know, you could like look at some artists
- 21:44Speaker 1: like roys To five nine, who's as old as am,
- 21:46Speaker 1: who's but has been putting out dope music, and in
- 21:50Speaker 1: my opinion, as just a fan of everything that I've
- 21:54Speaker 1: heard from, chose to listen to because I'm not like
- 21:56Speaker 1: a super right roycehead or anything, but like I feel
- 22:01Speaker 1: like lyrically he he he, on the same dojo level
- 22:06Speaker 1: as Emine one hundred percent. You can't play be a
- 22:10Speaker 1: song that prove me wrong about it? Right about that,
- 22:13Speaker 1: goat bro, He's one of the most slept on dudes ever. Yeah,
- 22:17Speaker 1: shout out. He got a lot of love for the
- 22:19Speaker 1: town too. We show Oakland a lot of love, and
- 22:22Speaker 1: you know, because Detroit and Oakland got that that kind
- 22:24Speaker 1: of synergy. What is the synergy, Because there is a
- 22:26Speaker 1: synergy between Detroit and Oakland, what is it exactly? You know,
- 22:31Speaker 1: it's it's deeper rooted into the history of music, the
- 22:35Speaker 1: car business, and travel about why we got the Bay
- 22:41Speaker 1: area got this direct connection to Motor City, you know
- 22:46Speaker 1: what I'm saying. But aside from that and like just
- 22:51Speaker 1: the history of business and infrastructure, we just really align
- 22:56Speaker 1: our personal values the same way that niggas from Detroit do,
- 23:00Speaker 1: like the same way they talk to women, the same
- 23:03Speaker 1: way they like to go put on cardiers and have
- 23:05Speaker 1: side shows. Like we either started it and showed it
- 23:09Speaker 1: to them or and they started stuff and showed it
- 23:11Speaker 1: to us. It's always been this cultural exchange of just
- 23:18Speaker 1: really regionally specific habits that we share with Detroit. Yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I had that conversation. Uh you know, uh, you know
- 23:24Speaker 1: Empire has a bunch of Detroit artists. Yeah, and it's
- 23:28Speaker 1: like Gazi was like, Yo, there's a connection, and I
- 23:32Speaker 1: was like, Yo, there is. Like when you really think
- 23:33Speaker 1: about it, yeah, no, the energy is very It's just
- 23:36Speaker 1: all the beats that the niggas's own. It sounded real similar.
- 23:41Speaker 1: And when they started, uh coming into like the internet,
- 23:47Speaker 1: underground area of like Listener and really start having their moments.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Then Oakland start taking from the beasts that they was on.
- 23:55Speaker 1: There's even like always a back and forth think about
- 23:58Speaker 1: Oakland too, like or the band. Historically, there's been like
- 24:02Speaker 1: two sides of the music game. Like in the nineties
- 24:05Speaker 1: there was like the RBO Posse forty two short mac
- 24:10Speaker 1: dre shit, but then on the other side it was
- 24:12Speaker 1: like hieroglyphics. Yeah, and like a lot of backpack ship
- 24:16Speaker 1: and Detroit the same ship. Detroit it's like the hardcore
- 24:19Speaker 1: street ship. Or there's jay Dilla and slum Village and
- 24:22Speaker 1: Royce and you know, it's two to two separate sides
- 24:26Speaker 1: of the coin sonically for both cities. We were talking
- 24:29Speaker 1: about female rappers earlier. Who's Who's like a female MC
- 24:32Speaker 1: who who who? Obviously Nikki aside, but like, who's somebody
- 24:35Speaker 1: who you want to tap in with? Uh, Tierra Whack
- 24:38Speaker 1: Tierro Whack's Fire Yeah from Philly, right, I think, so, yeah,
- 24:42Speaker 1: she's fire, I believe. So we've only met once and
- 24:46Speaker 1: it was it was all of I'll be fanning out.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I don't even hide it when I really be faning somebody.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I gotta let him know. So I've seen I met
- 24:53Speaker 1: her at h at the Homie Amber birthday Shout Out Amber,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and it it was just it was hella cool. I
- 25:01Speaker 1: really just wanted to be like, please get into the
- 25:03Speaker 1: studio with me, but I try to be cool, like,
- 25:05Speaker 1: oh yeah, I'm a big fan. Man. When's the last
- 25:09Speaker 1: time you found out with somebody? I feel like I'm
- 25:15Speaker 1: missing something. I feel like it was a time recently
- 25:18Speaker 1: where it happened. Who have I met recently? Or short?
- 25:24Speaker 1: It was? It was I was in Oakland, were too
- 25:28Speaker 1: Short and two bitches eating some fried fish at a
- 25:32Speaker 1: at a place in Alameda. It was a double date.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Uh no, I mean something. It was really like two
- 25:39Speaker 1: short and two holes and and you were there. Yeah,
- 25:43Speaker 1: so you were the third wheel in the in the
- 25:45Speaker 1: four Lake situation there. Oh trust me, I got that.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I got that third wheel rolling though real fast. That
- 25:53Speaker 1: is like that there's something to be said that, like
- 25:55Speaker 1: you're hanging out with too Short. Of course you'd have
- 25:57Speaker 1: two bitches like that that that doesn't disappoint br So
- 26:02Speaker 1: I'm we're like three slush Margerita's down. It's starting to
- 26:07Speaker 1: beat my ass. So I'm like trying to take it slow.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm eating hell of the fucking fish. I'll flip it over.
- 26:12Speaker 1: That's how much of the fish I'm eating. And he
- 26:16Speaker 1: looking but he said, oh yeah, I'm with this nigga
- 26:19Speaker 1: right now. I'm like what because he's been on FaceTime
- 26:21Speaker 1: this whole time. I just been entertaining the host. And
- 26:23Speaker 1: he turned the phone and he put me on FaceTime
- 26:27Speaker 1: is him? He Forty Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg And
- 26:33Speaker 1: then he just takes airpis out handed to me and
- 26:35Speaker 1: I don't know nothing about what. They were talking about nothing,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and then and Forty going hard talking about what's up.
- 26:42Speaker 1: He's showing me love. Snoop instantly was like, what's up? Netflix?
- 26:47Speaker 1: Ice Cube? Ice Cub was like who is this guy?
- 26:49Speaker 1: Ella fucking menacing? But he was showing me love at
- 26:54Speaker 1: the same time. But he was so sick. He was
- 26:55Speaker 1: literally like this. He was like, yeah, no, Short was
- 26:58Speaker 1: telling us, m hm, no, I see, I see. I
- 27:02Speaker 1: never heard of you, but I'm finna check you out
- 27:04Speaker 1: because Snoop said you creative and I was like, oh no,
- 27:09Speaker 1: you know, I'll be making content, shit, mister Cub. I'd
- 27:14Speaker 1: be in the next Friday. I heard Chris Tucker doesn't
- 27:16Speaker 1: want to be in it acted as ship and then
- 27:19Speaker 1: Snoop and Short was like, man, you should direct the
- 27:22Speaker 1: whole video. I was like, if y'all give me a
- 27:24Speaker 1: song to do it, I'll do it for shure you
- 27:26Speaker 1: do it for free. Yeah, I'll do it. Please let
- 27:28Speaker 1: me do it. But that was probably my my last
- 27:32Speaker 1: starstruck moment for sure. Oh yeah, that FaceTime is crazy.
- 27:35Speaker 1: It was tight too, because it was really christening me, Like, nah,
- 27:38Speaker 1: if Short, it's giving you the Okay, Snoop already did
- 27:41Speaker 1: it forty partially did it now? All right? QB was
- 27:46Speaker 1: on board. We fucking with you. How disappointed would you
- 27:50Speaker 1: be if when you went to hang out with Too
- 27:51Speaker 1: Short he introduced you to his wife that he's been
- 27:53Speaker 1: with for like twenty years and like two small children
- 27:57Speaker 1: of his and he was like, hey, hey, this is
- 27:59Speaker 1: my wife. Yeah, these are my kids. Just go to Applebee's. Like,
- 28:02Speaker 1: wouldn't that be a little disappointing? And it's like like
- 28:04Speaker 1: a white lady with a bob yeah, like hi, you
- 28:07Speaker 1: walk daddy, Yeah, what's this falcon about? Yeah? The type
- 28:13Speaker 1: of lady who were like, my son is my king? Shirts.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I saw sugar Free, I saw sugar Free in Vegas
- 28:19Speaker 1: with two bitches on leashes, of course, and I was like,
- 28:24Speaker 1: this is thank you, this is what I'm this is why,
- 28:27Speaker 1: this is. This is how I run into sugar Free
- 28:30Speaker 1: at the Planet Hollywood walking through the fucking mall with
- 28:33Speaker 1: fucking two females on leashes, and I'm just like, yeah,
- 28:38Speaker 1: I'm glad. I'm glad to know sugar Free is still
- 28:40Speaker 1: going strong. I'm glad to know that that pimping is eternal.
- 28:43Speaker 1: It is eternal, it would never die. Like he't like
- 28:46Speaker 1: like if I just saw sugar Free walking through Planet
- 28:49Speaker 1: Hollywood holding hands with a female, I'd been like, damn,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I'll leave it off. The bitch has broa on leashes.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Can you mag the white people walking by who had
- 29:02Speaker 1: no idea this this guy was. It was hilarious. Were
- 29:06Speaker 1: you a sugar Free fan? Sugar Free is like an
- 29:09Speaker 1: acquired taste. I fucked with all all of the flavor
- 29:13Speaker 1: rap like we we had one sugar Free song on
- 29:16Speaker 1: the CD, and that's how I knew who sugar Free was.
- 29:19Speaker 1: When you like would make the Napster mixed CDs and
- 29:21Speaker 1: ship back in the day, it was the one where
- 29:22Speaker 1: he's beating on the table boom boom boom boom boom
- 29:26Speaker 1: boom boom boom boom. Yeah, it was that song. So
- 29:30Speaker 1: we listed that ship over. We had that and Get Stupid.
- 29:34Speaker 1: This was how how I first heard the song Get
- 29:36Speaker 1: Stupid was on that CD. That was it. Who made
- 29:39Speaker 1: the who made the CD? My little cousin, it was
- 29:42Speaker 1: his CD. I think he took it from somebody, his
- 29:44Speaker 1: older brother. I missed the days where we like just
- 29:47Speaker 1: get random CDs in your car. You'd be like, what's this, Yeah,
- 29:49Speaker 1: twelve new songs you never heard of? You're like, oh ship, Yeah,
- 29:53Speaker 1: it was tight. That's how I learned about sugar Free.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Was a fan ever since. Soon as soon as I heard,
- 30:00Speaker 1: I'd rather my bit. I said, oh, man, that that's
- 30:05Speaker 1: dedication to the paper. If I ever seen it, you
- 30:08Speaker 1: could take bo bitch man. Just don't take my weed
- 30:11Speaker 1: or my money. Take the bitch, please have her. That's great.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I said, oh we yo. How much? Was a little
- 30:19Speaker 1: b and the bas ship Obviously even before that, you know,
- 30:22Speaker 1: I always say that the pack really influenced l A
- 30:27Speaker 1: sound for sure, because it was the I feel like
- 30:30Speaker 1: the package in the fashion, well, I feel like the
- 30:32Speaker 1: pack was doing a lot of like what ended up
- 30:34Speaker 1: being Mustard sound first, uh and shout out to Lega
- 30:39Speaker 1: Stars and those guys. But I always thought sonically the
- 30:41Speaker 1: pack was doing that ship first. But then you know,
- 30:44Speaker 1: a Little B had his run where he was putting
- 30:46Speaker 1: out a trillion mixtapes and just kind of became this
- 30:48Speaker 1: fucking cult figure. How big of how big of an
- 30:52Speaker 1: influence was, Like, you know, I'm sure that ship hit
- 30:55Speaker 1: different in the bay, Like I was living in Vegas
- 30:57Speaker 1: when the when the cooking and all that ship was
- 30:59Speaker 1: going on, and this shit was big there with the kids,
- 31:01Speaker 1: But I can only imagine in the bag where I
- 31:04Speaker 1: mean to me, it was so big it felt already
- 31:07Speaker 1: like legendary. It felt like it just felt like Little
- 31:13Speaker 1: B was this intangible, unreachable entity that did and said
- 31:19Speaker 1: whatever he wanted to say as an internet baby from
- 31:22Speaker 1: the BAB. I loved it. I praised it. I still do.
- 31:25Speaker 1: I think Little B is till this day one of
- 31:28Speaker 1: the most influential rappers and hip hop Ever, every top
- 31:32Speaker 1: one hundred list needs to have a Little B on it.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I don't give a fucking feet one hundred. But like
- 31:37Speaker 1: his impact had generational ripples, same thing as Chief Keith
- 31:44Speaker 1: the way people give Chief keif that praise Little B
- 31:48Speaker 1: right there. Yeah, I feel like Little B was like
- 31:50Speaker 1: the first you know, if you think about the era
- 31:54Speaker 1: we were just talking about like that twenty sixteen, I
- 31:57Speaker 1: feel like like little like all of them kids took
- 31:59Speaker 1: from like Low B riff Raft, Like there was like that, oh,
- 32:03Speaker 1: like those Internet figures that were just doing crazy ship.
- 32:05Speaker 1: It wasn't as much about the music as it was
- 32:07Speaker 1: about the person. They were antics. Yeah, it was. That
- 32:14Speaker 1: was before the antics became doing things to yourself true,
- 32:19Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. That was just doing it
- 32:21Speaker 1: was just like, yo, look at this dude on all
- 32:22Speaker 1: these motherfuckers are telling him he could they could fu
- 32:24Speaker 1: like you could. God. That's when That's when it was real.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Like back when riff Raft, who I also take influence from,
- 32:31Speaker 1: and me and me and Riff have had conversations about
- 32:34Speaker 1: love riff Raft, he's hilarious. If he would have came
- 32:36Speaker 1: out five six years later, he'd be so much bigger, bro,
- 32:40Speaker 1: he'd be the number one niggas. It was like the
- 32:43Speaker 1: crossover into when people started doing ship to themself. And
- 32:46Speaker 1: by that I mean like that tattooed he had a
- 32:49Speaker 1: world star. He pioneered that for real, definitely for real,
- 32:54Speaker 1: and people don't bring that ship up now what I
- 32:57Speaker 1: say it was it went as far as like a
- 32:59Speaker 1: little bee or he even turns in, but he was
- 33:02Speaker 1: definitely on the forefront that he was doing it a
- 33:05Speaker 1: lot of I'm a fan of all of the niggas. Man,
- 33:07Speaker 1: I fucked. I fucked with all of it. The Riff Ship.
- 33:11Speaker 1: There was a record he did with Action Bronson called
- 33:13Speaker 1: burd on a Wire that Harry Fraud produced that was
- 33:15Speaker 1: like like, oh, this ship is fire. Yeah it came.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I also like the one he did with Mustard were slapping, Yeah,
- 33:23Speaker 1: how to be a boss or how to be something,
- 33:25Speaker 1: to be the man, how to be a man. I
- 33:27Speaker 1: just loved his videos where he would just go on
- 33:29Speaker 1: rants and talk about like middle of my like I
- 33:32Speaker 1: got this lamp from Brazil. It gain't no middle of
- 33:34Speaker 1: them all ship. And you want to know, I always
- 33:37Speaker 1: liked that. I've always been attracted to that because Mac
- 33:40Speaker 1: Dre does that too, short does that another influence of
- 33:43Speaker 1: mine Dom Kennedy does all them where niggas just start
- 33:48Speaker 1: talking about their life. Yep, black gold, black globe, sitting
- 33:52Speaker 1: on a Cherrywood desk. Yeah, I got this ship from
- 33:55Speaker 1: I got this ship from Bermuda. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 33:58Speaker 1: that's hella clean to me. Yeah, that's some real ship.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Who was on your album? Man? It is just the homies.
- 34:05Speaker 1: It's just people who care about me and love me.
- 34:07Speaker 1: I do got a lot of homies, so I gotta
- 34:09Speaker 1: be more specific, uh, BJ the Chicago kids on there, Legend,
- 34:12Speaker 1: the homie Tish Hymen is on there, the fellow pedestrian
- 34:17Speaker 1: and Filipino Pilo is on there right, and Buddy is
- 34:21Speaker 1: on there. Buddy's fucking another just legend. And Buddy don't
- 34:25Speaker 1: get enough love. He don't. And that's why I'm making
- 34:28Speaker 1: sure that I like to keep him as one of
- 34:32Speaker 1: my honest to true godfriends who like goes out of
- 34:36Speaker 1: his way to check up on me and my mental health.
- 34:38Speaker 1: I believe one one night I was DJing in Hollywood
- 34:42Speaker 1: a playhouse and you, Buddy and a D rolled up randomly.
- 34:45Speaker 1: It was my birthday. Yeah, that was when I poured
- 34:48Speaker 1: the champagne on the poles in the front and I remember,
- 34:51Speaker 1: just like I forget what Buddy record had just dropped,
- 34:53Speaker 1: but it definitely wasn't the song to play at Playhouse.
- 34:56Speaker 1: But I ran that ship. Yeah, we went up. It
- 34:59Speaker 1: was tight. There was It's like it was that was
- 35:01Speaker 1: my first uh my first like live birthday out here,
- 35:05Speaker 1: because my first birthday that where I was living out here.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I went back to the Bay. It's kind of somber.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I was like making this transition. So I've been out
- 35:13Speaker 1: here a year and I was like, fuck it, man,
- 35:15Speaker 1: I know all these clubs that want to just give
- 35:17Speaker 1: me the fucking wrapper table on the side. I'm a
- 35:21Speaker 1: fan to do it. So I hit everybody. Playhouse was
- 35:23Speaker 1: the last stop. We had the whole our whole rounds
- 35:26Speaker 1: playoffs was the last stop. And I had that table
- 35:29Speaker 1: and I called everybody's like, it's my birthday. Everybody said that.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Nobody said no, everybody said pulling up, pulling. I don't
- 35:36Speaker 1: remember if that was when Ad got his horse teeth
- 35:38Speaker 1: or not. I know, no, it was prior, prior to
- 35:40Speaker 1: his teeth. I always clown adies teeth. I always say
- 35:43Speaker 1: he could eat corn on the car better than any
- 35:45Speaker 1: rapper ever. He could chew ice. Oh you chew. You
- 35:49Speaker 1: do a lot with those teeth. I think his teeth
- 35:52Speaker 1: needs needs their own podcasts. He just launched his podcast eighties.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Teeth need their own they need their own pocket. He
- 35:57Speaker 1: could have been saying in that table with the fucking
- 35:59Speaker 1: nilt Nigga's shout out to a d man. That's my brother.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I love that. I loved the other day. Yeah him,
- 36:08Speaker 1: Simba and Simba. I was just with Simba. Oh yeah,
- 36:12Speaker 1: you were with casting uh in Pasadena. Yeah, Simba left
- 36:15Speaker 1: my spot and then went over there. So yeah, shout
- 36:16Speaker 1: out to Simba. He's he's another Bay Area guy. Yeah,
- 36:19Speaker 1: finally getting some love. Man been out for a long.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I love to see it. He was out before me. Yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 1: he's in the deal before I even was in the industry.
- 36:27Speaker 1: So I'm super happy to see him get his light
- 36:30Speaker 1: and his love. You mentioned moving to l A. I
- 36:35Speaker 1: feel like there's there's there's people who moved to LA
- 36:40Speaker 1: and let this ship kind of like consume them because
- 36:42Speaker 1: there it is there is some truth to like the
- 36:45Speaker 1: stigma of like artists or YouTubers or TikTokers or whatever
- 36:49Speaker 1: that come to l A and just the world that
- 36:51Speaker 1: you could get wrapped up in and the things that
- 36:53Speaker 1: that you might you know, that might carry more weight
- 36:57Speaker 1: to you here because you're here that really don't matter. Yeah, like,
- 37:00Speaker 1: did you find, like moving to La, was there any
- 37:04Speaker 1: sort of period of time where you felt, you know,
- 37:06Speaker 1: like overwhelmed with this shit? Boy, Nigga, I feel kind
- 37:10Speaker 1: of overwhelmed right now. It's like a constant state of
- 37:14Speaker 1: being overwhelmed and adapting. It's how far you want to go?
- 37:18Speaker 1: What level are you trying to adapt to for yourself,
- 37:21Speaker 1: your own personal goals in your career and your mental happiness.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But it's never going to stop until you become like
- 37:28Speaker 1: a legacy act. But even then, these these people, these artists,
- 37:32Speaker 1: just built the infrastructure around them to deal with that
- 37:35Speaker 1: constant like mental attack because it's that forever. And the
- 37:40Speaker 1: Internet will solidify that shit because when you're not dealing
- 37:44Speaker 1: with the sauce to get lost in outside, you're dealing
- 37:46Speaker 1: with it on your phone, You're dealing with in your
- 37:48Speaker 1: email on zoom calls. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 37:51Speaker 1: this shit is forever. That's the job. So it's about
- 37:54Speaker 1: how much you want to take. And like I said,
- 37:56Speaker 1: it's some shit that I got to deal with currently
- 37:58Speaker 1: and until I figured it's like absolutely too much, then
- 38:03Speaker 1: maybe I'll do that. But I have been thinking about
- 38:07Speaker 1: just getting another spot somewhere to like clear myself for
- 38:11Speaker 1: this La ship, especially because when you live in La
- 38:14Speaker 1: you still gotta deal with being a transplant. Because I'm
- 38:18Speaker 1: not from here. I know a lot of people from here,
- 38:21Speaker 1: and I respect their rules and regulations of their game,
- 38:23Speaker 1: how they gut, but like you still got to be
- 38:27Speaker 1: in this city and navigate such the thickness of the sauce.
- 38:33Speaker 1: And it's crazy because the world shut down, so you're
- 38:35Speaker 1: trying to navigate in the same way to try when
- 38:37Speaker 1: the world was open, and especially here really shut the
- 38:41Speaker 1: fuck down and shut the fuck down. So it's like, damn,
- 38:44Speaker 1: I'm dealing with all of this ship just to like
- 38:46Speaker 1: be here. I don't even need to be here right now. Yeah,
- 38:49Speaker 1: the homie I got a homieh who's a rapper, Mike
- 38:52Speaker 1: stud and he he he just said fuck it and
- 38:55Speaker 1: he went to Arizona for like two months and now
- 38:57Speaker 1: he's in Montana. He's just like, I got to get
- 39:00Speaker 1: the fuck out of La. Man. Like if there's a
- 39:02Speaker 1: time to just take a break and unplug, it's like
- 39:04Speaker 1: while everything shut down. Yeah, I go to the Bay
- 39:08Speaker 1: tomorrow to shoot a short film connected to this album.
- 39:13Speaker 1: It's gonna be four episodes about my origin story, me
- 39:16Speaker 1: growing up, like becoming when I first started scamming, Like
- 39:20Speaker 1: we got a little boy to play me as a kid.
- 39:23Speaker 1: It's gonna be like a whole crazy a movie. No,
- 39:25Speaker 1: it's it's a short. It's like an actual like a
- 39:27Speaker 1: short film, like a real Yeah, I just seen it email.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I think we premiering them up for Gonna bet and hello,
- 39:34Speaker 1: shit like a whole it's a thing. Is Idiot Rising
- 39:38Speaker 1: handling the production and all that don't know. I'm going
- 39:40Speaker 1: out there to seriously act. I got all my friends
- 39:44Speaker 1: ready and they've been doing Are they playing themselves? It's
- 39:47Speaker 1: the only way to do put put my niggas on. Yeah,
- 39:51Speaker 1: And it's something that we've always wanted to do, So
- 39:54Speaker 1: I'm happy that I can cross this off the bucket
- 39:56Speaker 1: list for everybody. You know what I'm saying, Like we always,
- 39:59Speaker 1: seriously we wanted to tell our story because I come
- 40:02Speaker 1: from a crazy place and I'm a crazy nigga, so
- 40:07Speaker 1: like I always wanted to tell that, and this is
- 40:09Speaker 1: a good time to at least tell like the general
- 40:12Speaker 1: or like a good portion of that. Right after that,
- 40:15Speaker 1: I fly instantly to Hawaii to should the last music
- 40:18Speaker 1: video for this album, and then after that, I'm just done.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I'm doing press. What island? Are you shooting in Hawaii?
- 40:24Speaker 1: I don't even know yet. That's the Hey, look, man,
- 40:26Speaker 1: shoot all your videos in Hawaii. I want to just
- 40:29Speaker 1: stay out there. Actually, I haven't been to Hawaii since
- 40:31Speaker 1: I was pimping. I went out there to pimp a
- 40:34Speaker 1: couple of years ago. Well listen, wait, wait, wait a minute,
- 40:36Speaker 1: not let's not gloss over the pimping. So you was
- 40:39Speaker 1: actually pimping. I'm from the Bay. Well, I mean I
- 40:42Speaker 1: know that it's natural to the Bay. So how are
- 40:44Speaker 1: you twenty eight? So you're twenty eight? So you're pimping
- 40:48Speaker 1: in the era. Because when I was a kid, we
- 40:50Speaker 1: used to drive up and down the Strip in Phoenix.
- 40:52Speaker 1: There's a street called Van Buren down the Blade, Yeah,
- 40:55Speaker 1: and we used to like bitches would be walking every
- 40:57Speaker 1: pimps on every corner, and we were just like praying hookers, like,
- 41:02Speaker 1: you know, just fuck with hookers. Almost got killed a
- 41:04Speaker 1: couple of times. Yeah, you know, chase down by pimps.
- 41:08Speaker 1: We're fucking throwing water balloons at hose and shit, we're
- 41:10Speaker 1: just doing dumb shit. We're like some fucking jackass shit.
- 41:14Speaker 1: But then that shit went away because Craigslist and the
- 41:18Speaker 1: Internet started popping. So was that that was like your
- 41:21Speaker 1: era of the pimp shit? Like how did you get
- 41:22Speaker 1: into pimping? I mean, first of all, pimping got into me.
- 41:27Speaker 1: I didn't get into pimping. The sauce really chose me.
- 41:30Speaker 1: And that's just how it go being back from the bay,
- 41:34Speaker 1: when you shining, you look good, you handsome, you're not white,
- 41:38Speaker 1: somebody gonna come pay you. Somebody it's a bitch out
- 41:42Speaker 1: there that won't to pay you. She can't wait. So
- 41:45Speaker 1: did you have like a bottom bitch? Yeah? I did.
- 41:48Speaker 1: That was like your man, you was solitude. Honestly, I
- 41:50Speaker 1: just don't have the I don't care. It's hard. I
- 41:56Speaker 1: really don't care, and it's it was hard to go
- 42:00Speaker 1: through the motions up pimping because you got to respect
- 42:02Speaker 1: the game, and that's something not to be played with
- 42:05Speaker 1: because it don't change. It's forever. Those those rules written
- 42:08Speaker 1: in stone, and you got to respect that. And I
- 42:10Speaker 1: knew that because I didn't want to come in disrespectful.
- 42:12Speaker 1: But at the same time I had to consider, like
- 42:15Speaker 1: do I care enough to respect it? If I'm in it,
- 42:18Speaker 1: and I don't because I'm a scammer. So like I
- 42:21Speaker 1: don't want to call you if I just knocked your
- 42:23Speaker 1: bitch and she paid me to fee and now she
- 42:25Speaker 1: want to come up under me, I don't care to
- 42:27Speaker 1: call you and respect the game. I'm looking at. How
- 42:31Speaker 1: long did that last? Like? How long was that era? Of?
- 42:32Speaker 1: A couple of years? It was? I was on and
- 42:34Speaker 1: off with it. I never was like all the way
- 42:37Speaker 1: down stumped down in the mud. So would you have, like,
- 42:41Speaker 1: you know, just bitches posted up at hotels with the
- 42:44Speaker 1: online ads booming like mm hmm, that's really what it was.
- 42:48Speaker 1: And then backpage got shut down. I pivoted after that
- 42:52Speaker 1: and I just started having the bitches running to the stores.
- 42:56Speaker 1: I was tired of this shit. Tricks is dirty, and
- 43:00Speaker 1: the way that hoos like to live in a bay
- 43:04Speaker 1: is just too It's just it exposed me to too
- 43:09Speaker 1: many people I don't like to be around. And I'm
- 43:12Speaker 1: a super social nigga. I love company. See my house now,
- 43:15Speaker 1: But it's just was like I saw a picture of
- 43:17Speaker 1: your bedroom on your ig looks stellar, stellar bedroom. Thank you,
- 43:20Speaker 1: thank you. I just got a new rug today. Look,
- 43:23Speaker 1: I'll show you pick I feel like anybody you pick
- 43:26Speaker 1: up at the is it is it called the above
- 43:27Speaker 1: the Clouds Festival and the Clouds, Like any of those
- 43:32Speaker 1: lovely young Asian women would walk into your room and
- 43:35Speaker 1: be like, oh my god, this is it. They do
- 43:37Speaker 1: it all the time. Oh that's fire, that's a rug.
- 43:40Speaker 1: That's fire. It's huge too, it's about it's about here
- 43:43Speaker 1: to hear that's dope, yeah, scamboy. Yeah that's in the bedroom. Huh.
- 43:49Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out a place to put it
- 43:51Speaker 1: on the floor. So when you were when you when
- 43:52Speaker 1: you were pimping, what was like your stable, like the
- 43:55Speaker 1: most amount of women at one time that were three?
- 43:59Speaker 1: That's good. I was my I was footing foot out.
- 44:02Speaker 1: It wasn't how me understood. Helep me understand this, because
- 44:04Speaker 1: I don't think people truly understand like the business model
- 44:06Speaker 1: of pimping, right, Like, what is your purpose in the
- 44:09Speaker 1: girl besides taking her money? No, I mean it's more
- 44:12Speaker 1: than purpose. It's everything. I'm everything. I not only am
- 44:17Speaker 1: I the purpose, I'm also the consequence. I'm going to
- 44:22Speaker 1: cause any effect. I'm the Outpha and omega in this situation,
- 44:26Speaker 1: Like I'm your daddy, your boyfriend, your manager, your day
- 44:31Speaker 1: to day everything everything. So any services that they need
- 44:37Speaker 1: you could, they can hit you like, Yo, this trick's
- 44:38Speaker 1: not he's not he's not paying, or I fucking caught
- 44:43Speaker 1: gonorrhea and I need to go get the shot I
- 44:46Speaker 1: needed to take me to the clinic or pay for
- 44:48Speaker 1: this ship. But yo, but yeah ship in the in
- 44:51Speaker 1: the in the you know, I'm assuming that that there's
- 44:54Speaker 1: even if a girl is clean, there's a chance that
- 44:55Speaker 1: could happen in that field. I mean. But the thing
- 44:58Speaker 1: is what a lot of people don't really know is
- 45:01Speaker 1: a lot a lot of like the bitches that's really
- 45:03Speaker 1: in the game is some of the cleanest, safest women humans.
- 45:09Speaker 1: I've heard that zero experience. But you gotta think who
- 45:13Speaker 1: has chlamydia? Like rappers have chamydia. Niggas like me in
- 45:18Speaker 1: the club got namidia. That just been fucking thousands of
- 45:22Speaker 1: whole fact, not like the Indian nigga on Craigslist. Not
- 45:25Speaker 1: the fucking Mexican dude, not the dentist, you know what
- 45:29Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like they don't have a that's who's paying
- 45:32Speaker 1: for pussy, right right, right, right right. It's not like
- 45:35Speaker 1: it's not like these girls are fucking fucking like random
- 45:38Speaker 1: dudes at playhouse. And it's not like they're homeless like
- 45:42Speaker 1: fucking other homeless people, right, They're not in fucking you know,
- 45:45Speaker 1: they're not downtown l A taking ships on the side
- 45:47Speaker 1: of the street. Yeah, like that's what they're turning tricks
- 45:49Speaker 1: out of. That's what people think right right when they
- 45:53Speaker 1: think of that. But like they're not putting no respect
- 45:55Speaker 1: on the on the sex workers existence. They just they
- 45:59Speaker 1: because they look at the occupation as something that is
- 46:03Speaker 1: so beneath them personally their values, they choose to to
- 46:08Speaker 1: to demonize how their perception of that person and they
- 46:15Speaker 1: project that on other people to where it's become almost
- 46:19Speaker 1: like a standard of how we think about women. Even
- 46:23Speaker 1: even mistresses of even even strippers get bad raps. Like
- 46:27Speaker 1: there's like a negative stigma and it's like for what
- 46:29Speaker 1: the native riches ches out facts steal, don't gotta fuck steal, steal.
- 46:35Speaker 1: They're at house parties right now in the hills. It's
- 46:39Speaker 1: not stopping with them. I was gonna say, now only
- 46:43Speaker 1: fans seems to be like the Tiger, low key Tiger.
- 46:46Speaker 1: You could you might say Tiger's pimping right now on
- 46:49Speaker 1: only fans. Uh, because right way, because we both are
- 46:53Speaker 1: legitimate black males. I don't want to openly well, he's
- 46:57Speaker 1: managing the only fans girls. We'll call it managing, right right.
- 47:01Speaker 1: He's managing is in the business of working very closely
- 47:06Speaker 1: with sex work, true, and even even at times being
- 47:11Speaker 1: sex work himself. Because I've accidentally seen his dick on
- 47:13Speaker 1: Twitter before. Yeah, me too. I wasn't happy about it.
- 47:16Speaker 1: I wasn't happy either. I wasn't. It's always the worst
- 47:19Speaker 1: when you accidentally see a dick on your Twitter timeline.
- 47:21Speaker 1: It was Wednesday too, I remember it was Wednesday. I
- 47:24Speaker 1: was eating chippole. I still haven't went back to Chipotle
- 47:26Speaker 1: because you think it's Tiger's dick. It's terrible. I saw
- 47:29Speaker 1: Trey songs dick today on accident. I've purposely avoided it.
- 47:32Speaker 1: I muted the word Trey Songs because I didn't want
- 47:36Speaker 1: to go to show me how to do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 47:38Speaker 1: it's in the settings on Twitter. Oh man, are you
- 47:41Speaker 1: ever worried about some shit like that leaguing to you?
- 47:43Speaker 1: Do you have like all the time? Are you worried
- 47:45Speaker 1: about it? Yeah? I think any day now, some ship
- 47:50Speaker 1: might hit the internet, especially if they got Trey, he's
- 47:53Speaker 1: been at it for years, If they got him, I
- 47:57Speaker 1: don't stand in the fucking chance would you ever dabble
- 48:02Speaker 1: in the only fans shit. I made it only fans,
- 48:05Speaker 1: and I currently have a few subscribers. I just haven't
- 48:08Speaker 1: posted content yet because I'm trying to work on how
- 48:11Speaker 1: I want to approach it. Because you could, like you
- 48:14Speaker 1: could just post fan shit on there. Yeah, I mean
- 48:16Speaker 1: I think I want to do a plethora of everything,
- 48:18Speaker 1: like if I got if it's some genuine hose out there,
- 48:22Speaker 1: or shit, anybody it's only fans. I can't keep tracking
- 48:25Speaker 1: who's buying the shit, right, somebody want to get a
- 48:28Speaker 1: Dick pic for like two hundred dollars or something, I
- 48:30Speaker 1: might post it in the DMS or some shit later
- 48:32Speaker 1: on down the line. Hey, if someone wants to pay
- 48:33Speaker 1: you two hundred dollars for a dick pic, then I
- 48:35Speaker 1: would definitely. I've actually been paid more than that before.
- 48:38Speaker 1: You've been paid for a You ever been paid for
- 48:41Speaker 1: a Dick pic? Jesse, no feed pick same same. Well,
- 48:48Speaker 1: you know we were talking earlier. You probably have nice feet,
- 48:50Speaker 1: you got nice hands. Pause, super pause. It's gay to
- 48:53Speaker 1: say pauls is it. Yeah, it's gay to say, pauls
- 48:57Speaker 1: in the Homo it's super gay? Is it super gay? Yeah?
- 49:00Speaker 1: So don't say those No, okay, just let it rock.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Just let it rock because otherwise, like, why'd you bring
- 49:07Speaker 1: it up? That's fair if we start talking about narcotics
- 49:12Speaker 1: and doing illegal ship right and I kept saying, no
- 49:15Speaker 1: police ship, but when you were selling crack, Like where
- 49:18Speaker 1: did you you know what I'm saying, no police shit though? Yeah,
- 49:21Speaker 1: Like like no police, I'm the police. What the fuck?
- 49:26Speaker 1: So you keep saying no homo and Paul's like what
- 49:29Speaker 1: I had to stop. I had to stop saying no homo.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I feel like it's in the age as well. No,
- 49:32Speaker 1: I'm a big dipset guy. Yeah, love Cam, love love
- 49:36Speaker 1: that whole just era of hip hop, and no Homo
- 49:38Speaker 1: was kind of like, yeah, I feel like we got
- 49:41Speaker 1: attest to that because shout out to Cameron as Cameron
- 49:45Speaker 1: little Bruh, somebody who often likes to uh, I'm in
- 49:49Speaker 1: a similar vein fashion fashion. Yeah, you get what I'm saying. Yes,
- 49:54Speaker 1: he do a lot and he inspired a lot for me.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I don't even feel like he would say that ship
- 49:59Speaker 1: right now. I don't know if that's true. I think
- 50:01Speaker 1: I could see hear I'm saying Paul's but no, Homo,
- 50:04Speaker 1: I think I think I think he might let that
- 50:05Speaker 1: thing ride. Still you think so? I mean, I don't know.
- 50:09Speaker 1: He's one of my bucket list interviews. He's one of
- 50:11Speaker 1: the guys I've never interviewed. That's like, there's like four
- 50:13Speaker 1: or five, and Cams one of them. I'm calling it
- 50:15Speaker 1: now because my interviews. First, you have to bring me
- 50:19Speaker 1: up in your interview with Cameron. How would you like
- 50:23Speaker 1: me to bring you up? However, I'll just bring you
- 50:26Speaker 1: to the interview. Yep, you gotta. I'll do the prank
- 50:32Speaker 1: when you when you interview Cameron, I'll do the pan.
- 50:35Speaker 1: See I'm afraid of Cameron, though I'm not. I feel
- 50:38Speaker 1: like I feel like Cam is still that nigga. Yeah,
- 50:42Speaker 1: I feel like, yeah, but you can't. You can't go
- 50:44Speaker 1: in there with fear in your herd from Harlem. He
- 50:48Speaker 1: gonna smell. I don't know if I prank Cam though,
- 50:50Speaker 1: because I want to interview him. Like a bunch of times,
- 50:52Speaker 1: you and I are like boys. I don't know Cameron,
- 50:56Speaker 1: so I might only have one shot to make a
- 50:57Speaker 1: good impression. I don't want to ruin you kill a
- 51:00Speaker 1: camic experience. Now if it was like, you know, I'm
- 51:04Speaker 1: trying to think of somebody else, whoever the fuck Freddie Gibbs,
- 51:07Speaker 1: somebody was like my boy, like, yeah, we can prank
- 51:08Speaker 1: them all day, but Cameron, I'm like, I want to
- 51:10Speaker 1: make it. I was a childhood you know, he's one
- 51:11Speaker 1: of my guys. You know for sure? Hey what so
- 51:15Speaker 1: take take take me back to the you know obviously, uh,
- 51:18Speaker 1: you had the viral situation with Russ that that went down,
- 51:22Speaker 1: and I hated to see that because I'm cool with
- 51:24Speaker 1: Russ and I'm cool with you, and I feel like
- 51:25Speaker 1: you're one of the most brightest energies in hip hop.
- 51:30Speaker 1: I really don't. And I wasn't privy to whatever had
- 51:34Speaker 1: been said prior, but I was just like, yo, you're like,
- 51:38Speaker 1: who fucking hates you? No? I mean just him, right,
- 51:43Speaker 1: So I don't know what happened, Like, was there some
- 51:45Speaker 1: sort of like remarks made that like led up to that,
- 51:48Speaker 1: because yeah, I mentioned him in a song and he
- 51:50Speaker 1: didn't like it. And it took a while because I
- 51:54Speaker 1: was so I was so mad at the fact that
- 52:01Speaker 1: not only did I in my mind not this him
- 52:05Speaker 1: I never was trying to dis him, but I told
- 52:09Speaker 1: him about it. I DMed him beforehand song comes out.
- 52:14Speaker 1: I don't he leaves me on red and then the
- 52:16Speaker 1: first time I see him, I don't even really know
- 52:20Speaker 1: him or how it looks or nothing. I turned around.
- 52:24Speaker 1: He's twenty motherfucker niggas after he snaked me, and I
- 52:28Speaker 1: just thought that was wild, as like a nigga, as
- 52:31Speaker 1: rich as he is with his network and ability, he
- 52:35Speaker 1: could have came at me different, especially since he knew, like,
- 52:39Speaker 1: it's no way you planning that because he planned. He
- 52:41Speaker 1: was the headliner, headliner at that festival, and he planned
- 52:45Speaker 1: to see me and have me jump because he was
- 52:47Speaker 1: there early. I was one of the openers. Me and
- 52:50Speaker 1: Smino was just going. He's midday. I wann't open. It
- 52:53Speaker 1: was mid day, but still it wasn't the headliner. You
- 52:56Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I feel like he could have
- 52:58Speaker 1: went about that way different, but he didn't, and he
- 53:01Speaker 1: chose that route. But at the same time, you know,
- 53:04Speaker 1: as a grown ass man, I did speak on him. Yeah,
- 53:08Speaker 1: you know, he did look at it as I spoke
- 53:10Speaker 1: on him and not. He always says like, you can't
- 53:12Speaker 1: tell me how to react to and I think at
- 53:15Speaker 1: that time everyone was just it was like he was
- 53:20Speaker 1: getting a lot of I wasn't trying to down him. Actually,
- 53:23Speaker 1: I followed him on Twitter and I thought that Russ's
- 53:27Speaker 1: and I still do. I think it's really interesting how
- 53:30Speaker 1: some people could have so much garner, so much success
- 53:33Speaker 1: in the industry, and how they navigate but still not
- 53:36Speaker 1: be accepted by the culture. But they are clearly eating
- 53:39Speaker 1: from it and feeding some things to it. So that's
- 53:43Speaker 1: what the bar was about. But he took it as
- 53:46Speaker 1: disrespect and responded accordingly. I can't be mad at how
- 53:51Speaker 1: he feel about it. I'm obviously not happy with the outcome.
- 53:56Speaker 1: I mean, but your intention was not malicious with the mention.
- 54:00Speaker 1: I don't even know nothing outright this nobody. Was there
- 54:04Speaker 1: ever any correspondence with you guys after that or is
- 54:07Speaker 1: it just kind of what it is? What it is,
- 54:09Speaker 1: keep it moving. Yeah, it's over. It was never no
- 54:12Speaker 1: correspondence about nothing. I just think I think that, you know,
- 54:14Speaker 1: like I said, you're there could have been, but you're
- 54:17Speaker 1: such a dope energy and figured. And I feel like
- 54:20Speaker 1: on on on his side too, like he's I feel
- 54:23Speaker 1: like he gives so much free game to artists, and
- 54:24Speaker 1: he puts out so much dope quality of music. I
- 54:26Speaker 1: just think you I think that window when everyone was
- 54:30Speaker 1: coming at Russ, I just think he probably just made
- 54:33Speaker 1: notes of like okay, if he probably he was on this,
- 54:37Speaker 1: he was trying to be on his hitman ship. It's
- 54:39Speaker 1: just really unfortunate because in the perfect world, you guys
- 54:42Speaker 1: could have made some fire music together because I know
- 54:45Speaker 1: he friends with you, but YD know he can't be
- 54:47Speaker 1: in a room with Russ around me, so like you
- 54:51Speaker 1: guys have mutual people. It's unfortunate. I mean, I think
- 54:54Speaker 1: I think hopefully one day you know, you guys. I
- 54:55Speaker 1: mean honestly, at this point, it's I don't even look
- 54:57Speaker 1: at it as unfortunately. It just happened. Yeah, It's like
- 55:00Speaker 1: it is what it is. And you know, if you
- 55:02Speaker 1: guys ever have some correspondence in the future, cool, If not,
- 55:06Speaker 1: it is what it is. From that, uh, I had
- 55:09Speaker 1: some correspondence with with Benny the Butcher that I'm that
- 55:13Speaker 1: I'm happy we was able to hash out because I've
- 55:16Speaker 1: become a fan of him and what Griselda is doing
- 55:20Speaker 1: as of recent and nice tight. So from what happened
- 55:25Speaker 1: with Russ, you got in contact with Benny what like,
- 55:28Speaker 1: because me and Bennie had like Twitter knows. We had
- 55:31Speaker 1: like a small altercation after the Dreamville ship and it
- 55:35Speaker 1: wasn't we was not cool. I didn't know that. Yeah,
- 55:38Speaker 1: we was not We was not cool. And then the
- 55:40Speaker 1: Russ shit happened and he was you know they he
- 55:43Speaker 1: was going on and he had said something, and uh,
- 55:47Speaker 1: I just reached out. I was able to get his
- 55:51Speaker 1: number from somebody else, you know, made it happen, connected
- 55:54Speaker 1: with him and we had a we had a talk.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Has grown ass men, that's good respect. Yeah, Benny and Griselda,
- 56:01Speaker 1: it's my fate. Like between what they're doing and what
- 56:04Speaker 1: Fred's been doing the last couple of years, it's like,
- 56:06Speaker 1: to me, like the best round. Oh I love it
- 56:08Speaker 1: in the world. Yeah, I love it. I feel like
- 56:11Speaker 1: the pandemic made people like in twenty twenty, people were
- 56:15Speaker 1: listening to music differently because they weren't at the fucking club.
- 56:18Speaker 1: They were standing on couches, they were like listening in
- 56:22Speaker 1: their headphones or at home or in the car. They
- 56:25Speaker 1: were just listening differently. So I feel like that's the
- 56:27Speaker 1: only reason why I still exist. It's the only reason
- 56:30Speaker 1: why I'm seeing success now, honestly, is because the pandemic
- 56:33Speaker 1: forced everybody to actually listen to me rat right, because
- 56:37Speaker 1: everybody was looking for what my gimmick record was going
- 56:40Speaker 1: to be when I was super viral, when the Drake
- 56:43Speaker 1: shit was happening. Now Cole like, what's his fucking He's
- 56:47Speaker 1: just gonna have one and be out of there, But
- 56:49Speaker 1: it was they was going to attest that to some
- 56:51Speaker 1: type of gimmick. That shit was not gonna work right, right,
- 56:54Speaker 1: they had to pull back, except that these people still
- 56:57Speaker 1: fuck with me, and I'm not like Boom Ganging myself,
- 56:59Speaker 1: who actually doing really well. I just watched his following
- 57:02Speaker 1: him on YouTube. He's like turning his shit around. Yeah,
- 57:05Speaker 1: good for him, good for him, right, But like I
- 57:07Speaker 1: wasn't I obviously wasn't that right, And people got to
- 57:10Speaker 1: sit down and listen to my shit and be like,
- 57:13Speaker 1: oh shit, this nigga is right because I'm black belt
- 57:16Speaker 1: at this point, just like trying to now compete against
- 57:19Speaker 1: other dojos and still get better. But it's no more
- 57:22Speaker 1: like drills with me right now. Well, the One's album
- 57:26Speaker 1: coming out March. It's coming out in March, March nineteenth,
- 57:30Speaker 1: assuming we're gonna get the movie after the album, Yeah,
- 57:33Speaker 1: right after, because that's gotta be I mean a lot
- 57:36Speaker 1: of editing, and yeah, we're talking about a fucking movie. Yeah,
- 57:39Speaker 1: even if it's like a ten minute movie, it's you know,
- 57:41Speaker 1: it's a lot. Single comes out next Friday, Yeah, on
- 57:45Speaker 1: the twelfth. That's the one with the Better Off a
- 57:47Speaker 1: loan sample. Yeah, that shit's fire. It's called how Many
- 57:50Speaker 1: Love that record? Yeah. Sam played me a few joints.
- 57:52Speaker 1: He played me one that Plow produced, that was cool.
- 57:54Speaker 1: He played me one that I hated. Uh, it was
- 57:56Speaker 1: like the Booty one or some fucking booty shit. I
- 57:59Speaker 1: don't know. Oh, he played your demos. Probably that's not
- 58:03Speaker 1: on the album. So he played me the Pilo record
- 58:06Speaker 1: and I was like, I was like I like this
- 58:07Speaker 1: record a lot. It's just it's some regional ship. And
- 58:09Speaker 1: he was like what about this one? And then he
- 58:12Speaker 1: played this like booty ship and I was like, I'll
- 58:14Speaker 1: tell you this. I was like, Yo, don't let him
- 58:16Speaker 1: put that song out. That ship is not it. Then
- 58:19Speaker 1: he played the single and I was like, this ship
- 58:22Speaker 1: is it? Yeah, he had to that. Nigga was going
- 58:25Speaker 1: through the drafts and then he found a miss. He
- 58:27Speaker 1: played a mins, so he had to hit you with
- 58:28Speaker 1: the cream of the crush that hard had. This should
- 58:32Speaker 1: be I was like, this should be your biggest record,
- 58:35Speaker 1: great record, man, No, I feel like it's going to
- 58:37Speaker 1: be the biggest record in my career. And I'll show
- 58:39Speaker 1: you the music video after this. We could watch it.
- 58:41Speaker 1: Crazy it it's ridiculous. Fire, are you working with any
- 58:46Speaker 1: of the eighty eight rising guys on the album at all? Like? No,
- 58:51Speaker 1: I have reached out to Brian to get him on something.
- 58:55Speaker 1: I see him everywhere in North Hollywood. Every time I'm
- 58:57Speaker 1: at the grocery store, like shopping Halloween costumes. He's just there,
- 59:01Speaker 1: like he's at Whole Foods every day. I think he
- 59:03Speaker 1: said he said that he was working on some stuff
- 59:05Speaker 1: and he wasn't really recording. I would have no idea
- 59:08Speaker 1: that he's popping either. If you ran into him in person,
- 59:10Speaker 1: he just looks like like a high school kid. Yeah, really,
- 59:12Speaker 1: for sure, he's a He's such a gene I love Brian.
- 59:16Speaker 1: He's such a genuine dude. He just liked what he liked. Yeah,
- 59:19Speaker 1: he's super passionate about it, and like that's it. What
- 59:22Speaker 1: about Joji? He seems like a very eclectic individual, very
- 59:25Speaker 1: interesting cat. I never met the nigga. I don't know.
- 59:27Speaker 1: You haven't met him. I only know people that know him,
- 59:31Speaker 1: like I'm Hella cool with August and he's on Ada Rising.
- 59:36Speaker 1: He's super talented, and I know he Hella fucks with
- 59:38Speaker 1: Joji and shit, same thing with Brian, But I never
- 59:42Speaker 1: I don't know him like that. I'm a fan of
- 59:44Speaker 1: his Ship's crazy. Yeah yeah, well shit, man, that was
- 59:47Speaker 1: a song that we both was on. But we never met.
- 59:50Speaker 1: But you haven't linked with him. Album's coming out in
- 59:53Speaker 1: March seventeen. What nineteen nineteen? Wait, what's the what's the
- 59:58Speaker 1: album name? What's the numb oh? I thought talking about
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: the date. No, well you just gave away to the
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: date March nineteenth the album's come out. No, they named
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: the album eleven seventy six. Boom go get that. And
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: thanks for the interview, man, Thank you for having me.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: And it was a long drinking today. We started with
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: a brank and then we ended up having a crazy interview. Yeah,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: I was super tired. Perfect. I wanted to give you
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: a good interview. Either way. You said I was complaining
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: the blood. You're like, bro, I'm trying to do some
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: shll here, Perfect God,
