For a minute, I mean, seriously, I'll, I'll just read to you from
• 0:04
the actual poll itself. In the Democratic primary for
• 0:07
the US House of Representatives in Maine Second District, 23% of
• 0:10
likely voters say their first choice would be former
• 0:13
congressional aide Jordan Wood. Jordan Wood.
• 0:18
If the primary were held today, 22% would say Joe Baldacci, 17%
• 0:24
would say Maine State Auditor Matt Dunlap, and 14% would vote
• 0:28
for apparently Paige Loud, which is the other candidate running
• 0:33
there, while less than 1% would vote for another candidate.
• 0:37
Wood is the most personally popular candidate among the
• 0:40
Democratic primary voters in CD, 240% of the people who answered
• 0:45
the poll have a favorable opinion of Wood, 8% have an
• 0:49
unfavorable favorable opinion, and 24% are neutral. 27% don't
• 0:53
know enough about him to say yielding in that favorability of
• 0:56
plus 32. Dunlap is the next most popular
• 1:00
with a + 25 rating, followed by Loudon Baldacci, both at 13 and
• 1:05
12 respectively. I mean, come on, does anybody
• 1:09
believe that? Does anybody believe that?
• 1:13
And I, I chose this one specifically to talk about
• 1:15
briefly before I go back to the calls and do more phones just to
• 1:19
try to justify my constant criticism of the polling you're
• 1:25
getting in Maine. Because it seems like every poll
• 1:26
that comes out, Matt says something like this poll is crap
• 1:31
and you shouldn't really watch it or listen to it.
• 1:32
  This is really, really unreliable.
• 1:34
This is bad. This they're they're doing it
• 1:36
wrong or some version of that. And I feel kind of guilty saying
• 1:40
that because it just sounds like I'm a pole doubter now.
• 1:42
And I suppose in some respects I am because they have such a
• 1:45
terrible track record. But I guess the real point here
• 1:49
is that they just can't give me anything that I can say anything
• 1:54
positive about. No one in this planet believes
• 1:57
that Jordan would has 23% of the vote in the Democratic primary
• 2:01
for CD2. It's the wrong district for him.
• 2:04
He's barely doing any media. The other candidates are
• 2:06
  attracting all the media attention.
• 2:08
They're attracting all the voter attention.
• 2:10
They're attracting all the everybody attention.
• 2:12
You know, it's really Baldacci and Dunlap that you really pay
• 2:15
attention to. And Jordan Woods and also ran.
• 2:17
But no, he's leading apparently and is the most popular among
• 2:21
them. I mean, if that and I will
• 2:23
happily eat my hat if that guy ends up winning or that result
• 2:27
looks even remotely close to true when they actually start
• 2:31
voting in that first round. I'll, I'll, I'll eat crow over
• 2:34
it. I'm happy to do that, but I
• 2:36
mean, come on, Not only is this the only pole that has ever
• 2:39
shown anything like this, it also just flies directly in the
• 2:41
face of what we anecdotally know about that that race.
• 2:44
And then you start applying that same skepticism to everything
• 2:49
else that's in these poles from the gubernatorial results on on
• 2:53
down. And Plattner Collins, yes, I
• 2:56
mean, it just strikes you as a very, very unreliable, mixed up,
• 3:00
poorly designed pole again. And honestly, UNH is worse than
• 3:05
Pan Atlantic to me and they always have been.
• 3:07
  They're not good at Maine. They're not, I don't know, I
• 3:09
don't even think they're that good period.
• 3:11
But they just can't do Maine right.
• 3:13
And a Maine primary. Are you kidding?
• 3:15
You guys should throw all this stuff in the trash bin.
• 3:18
You really should. I suppose we have to cover it, I
• 3:22
guess. But man, we shouldn't 'cause it
• 3:26
  sucks. It is not reliable.
• 3:28
I mean, they, they have like 20 something percent independence
• 3:32
as a respondent in the poll for primary elections.
• 3:36
And we all know that the independence will be voting in
• 3:37
this because of course they can. Now they can pick a party and
• 3:40
they can pull a pull a ballot and they'll do it, but not 20%.
• 3:44
It'll be more like 5-6 probably. So it's just everything about
• 3:48
it's wrong. Everything about it's wrong.
