- 0:00Speaker 1: So President Trump is adding a new condition to the
- 0:02Speaker 1: proposed Saudi nuclear deal, writing on truth Social the civil
- 0:06Speaker 1: nuclear Deal, there will be no enrichment of material being
- 0:09Speaker 1: made without the United States Department of Energy in Saudi
- 0:12Speaker 1: Arabia will be approved, but is subjected to Saudi Arabia
- 0:16Speaker 1: joining the very respectful Abraham Accords. The White House says
- 0:19Speaker 1: this isn't a new demand. The President has raised it
- 0:21Speaker 1: with the Saudis before. The President is always the final
- 0:25Speaker 1: deal maker, as you know, and this is something that
- 0:27Speaker 1: he has mentioned on numerous occasions going back.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I can provide you with those statements.
- 0:32Speaker 1: And he has said if they don't join the Abraham Accords,
- 0:36Speaker 1: the deal is off. So let's bring in Santive Farm
- 0:39Speaker 1: Relations Committee member Senator Bill Haggerty cenatored your thoughts about
- 0:43Speaker 1: this deal as.
- 0:44Speaker 2: You know it well, we're seeing the facts unfold. But
- 0:48Speaker 2: I applaud President Trump for bringing major allies in the
- 0:51Speaker 2: region together. Aran is getting further and further isolated by
- 0:54Speaker 2: a deal like this, and joining the Abraham Accords has
- 0:57Speaker 2: been a long term goal for President Trump for this administration. Franklin,
- 1:00Speaker 2: I'd love to see it. The fact that he's got
- 1:02Speaker 2: Jared Kushner involved, Jared and his wonderful team Generator. That
- 1:05Speaker 2: team put together the Abraham Accords at a time when
- 1:07Speaker 2: it was desperately needed. They should have gotten I think
- 1:10Speaker 2: they should have gotten a Nobel Peace Prize for this.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And by bringing more into the fold, particularly Saudi, the
- 1:16Speaker 2: largest economy there. I think this is a major step forward.
- 1:19Speaker 2: We're talking about economy, we're talking about prosperity, and I
- 1:22Speaker 2: think this sends a message for the entire region that
- 1:24Speaker 2: we're ready to move forward.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Here center ed Markey about the potential deal because Congress
- 1:29Speaker 1: has got Okay in him.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So watch.
- 1:31Speaker 3: So right now, we have a twin hypocrisy. One, Trump
- 1:38Speaker 3: is declaring war on Iran to prevent them from getting
- 1:41Speaker 3: nuclear weapons, and at the same time he's an old thing.
- 1:44Speaker 3: He's going to provide the materials for nuclear weapons to
- 1:47Speaker 3: Saudi Arabia, which is only going to further infuriate Aron
- 1:52Speaker 3: and make it impossible to ever get them to give
- 1:54Speaker 3: up their nuclear weapons ambitions. So this is a terrible day.
- 1:59Speaker 3: It is so is the dawn of a new nuclear
- 2:02Speaker 3: ams race in the Middle East.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yes, you don't want to anger iron, They never get angry.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Your thoughts, this is we're not talking about enrichment programs
- 2:10Speaker 2: at all. The AE other partners of ours are able
- 2:13Speaker 2: to have a civil nuclear program, they report, they don't hide,
- 2:16Speaker 2: they don't obviously they.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Don't enrich in country. These guys Saudi Arabia would enrich
- 2:20Speaker 1: in country.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I think this is something that we're going to work
- 2:22Speaker 2: through the details on in the Saudi Arabia. But my
- 2:25Speaker 2: senses and President Trump's overarching goal is to bring them
- 2:28Speaker 2: into an economic relationship that begets prosperity right.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So I took to General Jack Keane last hour. There
- 2:33Speaker 1: seemed to be an indication from the White House that
- 2:35Speaker 1: they're going to go upscale this military conflict, intensify it
- 2:40Speaker 1: when they asked to pull a Fox News poll, do
- 2:42Speaker 1: you support military action against iron is forty three, fifty six,
- 2:45Speaker 1: forty three support, fifty six, don't. Where do you stand?
- 2:48Speaker 2: I think the sooner we get this wrapped up, the
- 2:50Speaker 2: sooner it's taking care of, the more the American public
- 2:52Speaker 2: will come on board. I think the issue we've got
- 2:54Speaker 2: right now is the fact that it's dragging out. And
- 2:56Speaker 2: I don't fault those that are trying to negotiate, trying
- 2:58Speaker 2: to bring this together with term that work, because we're
- 3:00Speaker 2: going to have to rebuild her on But at this point,
- 3:02Speaker 2: I think the American public sentiment and at least as
- 3:04Speaker 2: I read the data, they just want this over with.
- 3:06Speaker 2: And if you think about the activity there in the
- 3:08Speaker 2: Middle East, Brad Cooper, the Centcom leader, the aremerald there
- 3:11Speaker 2: was about seventy five to eighty percent of the way
- 3:13Speaker 2: through the target package they initially set. They stopped when
- 3:16Speaker 2: they went to ceasefire. They stopped that when they went
- 3:18Speaker 2: to negotiate. I think he's back on track to complete
- 3:22Speaker 2: that target package and that we'll put the Iranian situation
- 3:24Speaker 2: in much better negotiating.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So let's talk about the funding needed. Now. You guys
- 3:27Speaker 1: have a week left. House is already left, and then
- 3:29Speaker 1: you'll have four weeks off and be back in September.
- 3:32Speaker 1: But you're looking to try to advance a ninety five
- 3:34Speaker 1: billion dollar plan to fund the war because we have
- 3:38Speaker 1: enough now, but we got to replenish and backfill, and
- 3:40Speaker 1: you need one point five trillion instead of nine hundred billion,
- 3:43Speaker 1: which would only bring us to five percent of the GDP. Yes,
- 3:47Speaker 1: it's a lot of money, but that's where Reagan was
- 3:49Speaker 1: at five percent.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Well, I think you've got a lot of support for this.
- 3:53Speaker 2: We've got a reconciliation package working stay through. This is
- 3:56Speaker 2: just an immediate fix for this. About seventy three billion
- 4:00Speaker 2: dollars in that package to address the DoD But we're
- 4:02Speaker 2: talking at one point five trillion dollar package at a
- 4:05Speaker 2: time when the military needs a significant rebuild. For four years,
- 4:08Speaker 2: they were distracted under Joe Biden, focusing on social engineering,
- 4:12Speaker 2: not on lethality. And what the team has found as
- 4:15Speaker 2: they've come in is a lot of opportunity to make
- 4:17Speaker 2: us stronger. We've demonstrated exquisite results. I think you look
- 4:20Speaker 2: at Venezuela, you look at what we've been able to
- 4:21Speaker 2: do in Iron quickly. But we need to continue this
- 4:24Speaker 2: momentum and make certain that we're ready to deal with
- 4:26Speaker 2: all of the adversarial situations.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I would love to see a simultaneous audit because everybody
- 4:29Speaker 1: thinks the Pentagon should be spending more efficiently. But we
- 4:32Speaker 1: do need at least the one point five trillion we
- 4:34Speaker 1: asked NATO to get to five percent. We have to
- 4:36Speaker 1: get to five percent too. So let's talk about the
- 4:39Speaker 1: Save America Act and how it fits in there. Now
- 4:41Speaker 1: to do things on a simple majority.
- 4:43Speaker 2: You have to do. It's got to be money, it's
- 4:45Speaker 2: got to be budget budget.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So you could also put other things in there like
- 4:48Speaker 1: voter ID yes, and maybe mail in balloting parts or
- 4:52Speaker 1: all of the Save America Act. John Thune is frustrating
- 4:55Speaker 1: the president because the Center says, I don't have the votes.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I don't have all the Republican votes. McConnell is out,
- 5:00Speaker 1: Kowski is out, Collins is out, and perhaps till this
- 5:02Speaker 1: is out, what is the reality on the ground. Can
- 5:04Speaker 1: they be convinced.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I think what we need to do is actually put
- 5:07Speaker 2: something in front of everybody, because if it's voter I D. Look,
- 5:10Speaker 2: this is an issue that over ninety five or eighty
- 5:12Speaker 2: but money no exactly, and even on the Democrat side,
- 5:16Speaker 2: over seventy percent of Democrats have proved this. I don't
- 5:17Speaker 2: know why every American doesn't want to support this. The
- 5:21Speaker 2: mail in balloting issue gets more complicated for some states
- 5:24Speaker 2: that are more remote. I understand that issue, but I
- 5:26Speaker 2: think that we take it in pieces and at least
- 5:29Speaker 2: if we can come through this product.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So you are for taking just voter I D.
- 5:32Speaker 2: I'll take it and then come back for mail and back. Yes, Yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 2: I'll take whatever I can get right now, all.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Right, santam Good to see you in New York. All right,
