- 0:08Dennis Collins: A warm welcome back to Heroes Behind the Badge.
- 0:11I'm Dennis Collins, joined by Craig Floyd and Bill Erfurth.
- 0:15In the last episode, we heard the first part of FBI Special Agent Ed Mireles'
- 0:21incredible story from April 11th, 1986.
- 0:25The day that became known as the bloodiest in FBI history, Ed and his fellow agents
- 0:31had tracked down two ruthless bank robbers in a residential neighborhood in Miami.
- 0:36The chase ended in a crash and a deadly gunfight had begun.
- 0:42When we left Ed, he had been shot twice.
- 0:45His left arm was nearly destroyed.
- 0:48He was bleeding from his head wound and he was lying on the
- 0:51ground with bullets still flying overhead, but his mindset was clear.
- 0:56This is survivable.
- 0:58Now, ed is going to tell us in his own words how he survived and how
- 1:03he ended one of the most intense gunfights in law enforcement history
- 1:08using just one arm and a shotgun.
- 1:11Craig Floyd: So with, with the bullets flying over your head and
- 1:14you laying on the ground realizing you've been seriously injured.
- 1:18Somehow you miraculously, I guess, get to your feet, but you still got a shotgun.
- 1:23I'm not a gun guy.
- 1:24But how do you end the gunfight with a shotgun when you've
- 1:28got only one arm to use?
- 1:30Ed Mireles: Well, you know what, I've been asked that question, uh, so many times.
- 1:33You know, and people are looking for, for, um, I don't know what the,
- 1:38what the, what my explanation is.
- 1:41They're looking for a. A pill.
- 1:44They're looking for a, a silver bullet, you know, answer.
- 1:47And I don't have one for 'em.
- 1:49Um.
- 1:51People have said, Hey, when, what you did, you know, with the one
- 1:55hand racking and so on and so forth, did you ever practice that?
- 1:58I said, nope.
- 2:00Did you ever see it in a movie?
- 2:01I said, nope.
- 2:02Did you ever read it in the book?
- 2:03I said, no.
- 2:05I said, you know, uh, under stress, you know, if you maintain a disciplined
- 2:11mindset, you know, I mean, you know, maintain your discipline,
- 2:14focus on, on, on what you're doing, focus on survival and not panic.
- 2:18Okay.
- 2:19Uh, don't, don't get, uh.
- 2:21Fight or flight, it's fight, fight, flight, freeze, don't
- 2:25freeze, and you still have the option of running if you have to.
- 2:30Okay.
- 2:31But at this point in time, I, I didn't have the option of running.
- 2:33I had to sit and fight.
- 2:35So I was disciplined, focused, always looking for plans, you know, and
- 2:39it's amazing how your brain under.
- 2:42Your mind is working.
- 2:43I some, some doctors say, you know, your mind can work a hundred miles a second.
- 2:47I mean, I don't know what that means, but I will tell you this.
- 2:49I had scenarios going through my mind.
- 2:52I was like, discarding them.
- 2:531, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. I was going through, through different
- 2:57scenarios, different options.
- 2:58Every time I moved to a different position, a scenario would come up, I'd
- 3:03move some more and okay, you can't do that anymore you gotta do this sort.
- 3:06The mind was just constantly working, working, working, uh, trying, trying to
- 3:10get out, uh, trying to figure out where the threat was, eliminate the threat.
- 3:14Okay.
- 3:14And then, you know, af after the, uh, the threats eliminated that
- 3:17then you can get aid, you know?
- 3:18So, um, that was my, that was my purpose.
- 3:21But anyway, getting back to what your question asked.
- 3:23Yeah.
- 3:24How did I do that?
- 3:26It just, it was an epiphany.
- 3:28Okay.
- 3:29I'm, I leaned up against the car.
- 3:31The way I'm sitting right now.
- 3:32I'm on my butt on the ground and I, I looked over to the left
- 3:36like this, trying to peek around to see where the bad guys were.
- 3:38'cause I, I maneuvered on my back.
- 3:40I kind of flanked, flanked them, um, on the ground.
- 3:45'cause I mean, I couldn't stand up, so I was crawling on my back and I came around
- 3:49and I saw peeked around the car and I saw them thinking, Hey, I've got the
- 3:52shotgun, I've got, I had the, uh, the, uh, trigger grip in my right hand like this.
- 3:57And I said, I've got the shotgun, but I don't have a left arm.
- 4:00You know, so, because you need two, two hands to steady a shotgun.
- 4:03Otherwise, you know, it's not gonna be steady.
- 4:05And I'm thinking, how can I steady the shotgun?
- 4:09And as I'm looking at the whole scene, I see the bumper of the car
- 4:13that I'm leaning up against and I'm thinking, Hey, there's a bumper,
- 4:16the lip on the bumper right here.
- 4:17So I said, Hey, this will be my left arm.
- 4:19I set the shotgun on the bumper, you know, had my right hand on the, on the grip.
- 4:26The trigger and I'm thinking, okay, line up the sights.
- 4:29And I said, just let you know.
- 4:30Let it go.
- 4:31Press the trigger.
- 4:31Boom.
- 4:32And when I, when it, it fired, the recoil brought me back and it just was so
- 4:37natural that I just came back like this, back to the original setting position.
- 4:41I had the shotgun in my hand like this.
- 4:43I think, Hey, I'll just let the shotgun slide through my hand
- 4:47down until it hits the ground.
- 4:49I'll pitch with my legs, rack it, go down to the pistol grip again.
- 4:55Bring it up, put the gun on the, on the lip and fire.
- 4:59Okay.
- 5:01Never trained it, never saw it in the movie.
- 5:04And it just, it was a total epiphany, you know?
- 5:07And, um, it, it's, it's, it was, you know, almost like a God-sent miracle
- 5:12because I'm thinking, you know, how else, how else could, could,
- 5:16could I have come up with that?
- 5:17I mean, I'm, I'm not that I.
- 5:21I can't say that I'm not that bright, but you know, in a survival environment,
- 5:25you know, when you're fighting for your life, you know, everything, anything
- 5:28and everything is, is an option
- 5:30Craig Floyd: close.
- 5:31So how close were you to, to them when you shot 'em and ended it?
- 5:35Ed Mireles: I was going back to, uh, wound ballistics.
- 5:41Okay.
- 5:41At, by that point in time, the gun fight's going on for about three minutes now.
- 5:46So I, I've been wounded for three minutes.
- 5:49Uh, I'm bleeding out for three minutes.
- 5:51So at that point in time, you know, I was losing consciousness.
- 5:54I would, my, my eyes were actually drooping down and
- 5:57things were getting dark.
- 5:59All, you know, around my, my vision.
- 6:01And if you're looking at me, looking at me on the video, my head as I'm
- 6:10working my head would actually do this.
- 6:13And I'd have to shake myself awake.
- 6:14Uh, and I knew I was passing out from, from, uh, blood loss, so
- 6:18I, I had to keep shaking my head and my head was still going.
- 6:22Like that, you know, like I, so I had to fight to stay awake.
- 6:26So I'm thinking, oh man, I'm, I, I'm getting close, I'm bleeding out,
- 6:30you know, instinctively I knew, Hey listen, you know, we gotta, we gotta
- 6:33move this along, you know, you know, so at, at some point in time, um.
- 6:42I don't mind talking about this because, but it's very personal.
- 6:45At some point in time, I, I, um, I had a conversation with God, you know,
- 6:50'cause I knew at, at one point, and I hope you never have to get to it.
- 6:55I mean, I, maybe we all have to get to that point in life, you know.
- 6:57But at one point, I, I came to the realization in, in my heart and in
- 7:02my mind that I was going to die.
- 7:05Okay?
- 7:05Because I was doing this, I was going.
- 7:08I, I was, I couldn't hold my head up.
- 7:10I was just like, it was, it was, uh, getting darker and darker and darker.
- 7:15So I'm thinking, Hey, you know what, uh, I'm gonna die.
- 7:18And when I said I'm gonna die, another miracle, uh, I became fearless.
- 7:26There was no fear.
- 7:27Okay.
- 7:27I'm thinking, Hey, what, what are they gonna do to me?
- 7:29Send me to Miami.
- 7:30You know, I'm gonna die.
- 7:31You know?
- 7:32So I have not, I mean, I have nothing else to lose, you know?
- 7:36'cause I've already it.
- 7:37Acknowledge that I'm going to die, I'm gonna lose, I'm gonna give up my life.
- 7:41Okay, so what else can people do to you?
- 7:43Bill Erfurth: So Ed, I want to ask, so you finished them off and
- 7:48that's the end of this gun fight.
- 7:50It's pretty dramatic gun fight, obviously.
- 7:52Mm mm-hmm.
- 7:53How many times did you rack that shotgun?
- 7:56Do you know?
- 7:57Five times.
- 7:59Five times.
- 7:59So you did it five times, one arm by putting it on the ground between
- 8:04your knees and, and mm-hmm functioned it completely as you had described.
- 8:08So five times.
- 8:09That's incredible.
- 8:11Ed Mireles: Again, you know, it was, um, it just.
- 8:14When, when you're desperate to survive, I mean, you are scanning,
- 8:18your mind is scanning for options.
- 8:20You know, it's like, oh, that's good.
- 8:21No, that's, that's stupid.
- 8:22This is good.
- 8:23This may work.
- 8:24And then you come up with, with one or two options.
- 8:26Okay.
- 8:27My other option was I, well, maybe I can stand up and actually hold
- 8:31the shotgun one handed and move in on, on the car that they were in.
- 8:35You know, actually, I mean, actually get it.
- 8:38For lack of a better term, and there's no, there's no way I could have done it.
- 8:43Assault... but you know, that word assault, assault the car,
- 8:47moving towards the car to get the shotgun up in their face, really.
- 8:51I mean, that was my intention because I figured, hey, I only get one shot.
- 8:55Okay.
- 8:57The, the shot that's in, in the, in the chamber, you know, I get one shot, put it
- 9:01right in their face, fire the shot, and then drop the gun and go to my revolver.
- 9:05And so I'll be at the car.
- 9:06That was also an option, but I said, well, you know what, I like staying far away.
- 9:10So,
- 9:12so I decided to go with the, with the racking action.
- 9:16Bill Erfurth: So how, how long did you have to stay in the hospital after that?
- 9:19Ed Mireles: Yeah, I was in the hospital for
- 9:24a little over.
- 9:25A little over two weeks and I was home, um, for a year.
- 9:32Okay for a year.
- 9:33And I was off on, on light duty for 27 months.
- 9:38I mean, it was, it was a devastating hit.
- 9:40I mean, it, uh, when I got to the hospital, they told, my wife had
- 9:44responded, she's also an agent.
- 9:45She responded to the scene and then responded to the hospital.
- 9:48She was doing all the talking.
- 9:50'cause I was in la-la land and I was in, I was on the morphine, I was on the morphine
- 9:56train, you know, so, um.
- 9:59She came to me, she told me, she said, Hey, uh, you know, the doctor's
- 10:02saying that there, that there's only one option, you know, and that they're
- 10:06gonna have to amputate your arm.
- 10:07And I'm thinking, oh, come on.
- 10:08You gotta be kidding me.
- 10:09I said, uh, I mean, can't they do something?
- 10:11And then I knew, I mean, it was a, it would've been a, it
- 10:14would've been a. Huge miracle.
- 10:16And they said, well, that's her first option.
- 10:18So what's her?
- 10:19I said, what's her second option?
- 10:20And she went back and asked them and she goes, okay, here's
- 10:23the second option, amputation.
- 10:25I said, well, that's the first option.
- 10:28And I said, so they gotta do better than that, you know?
- 10:30So we went back and and forth and they said, Hey, listen.
- 10:34We need to check his arteries.
- 10:36They said, Hey, if my, my two arteries, my brachial and older artery are
- 10:41intact, they said they can save, you know, the, the blood flow has to be
- 10:47able to reach the hand and the fingers.
- 10:49They said, if the arteries have been ripped apart, forget it.
- 10:52We can't save the hand.
- 10:53Okay.
- 10:54So they, they went in and did, did the, you know, I don't know the, or.
- 10:58Scopic, you know, tube thing, you know, and they found that
- 11:01the arteries were intact.
- 11:02I said, okay, let's a step in the right direction.
- 11:05So if they're intact, we might be able to reconstruct his arm.
- 11:09Okay.
- 11:10So, uh, I had.
- 11:13I had three surgeries in two weeks, you know, and the first one
- 11:16was just to clean up the wound.
- 11:17The second one was to set my arm, like a, like a broken arm.
- 11:21And then the third one was to follow up on the, on the setting and to
- 11:24make sure that the, there was still blood flow and stuff like that.
- 11:27You know, I had, I lost a lot of nerve damage.
- 11:29I had a lot of nerve damage to the hand, you know, but it, that's kind of.
- 11:33I was told by a neurologist that nerves have a tendency to grow back,
- 11:37you know, if, if you give them enough time, you know, and I, I've gotten
- 11:40to, to where I can feel, initially I couldn't feel anything with my hand
- 11:43because of the nerve damage, you know, but they managed to save my arm and
- 11:47I've had a, I have a 50% disability to the left arm, you know, but hey.
- 11:5150% is better than no percent.
- 11:53You know, you know,
- 11:54Craig Floyd: Ed, Ed, I have a last question and that is, um, after all
- 11:58this, the recovery took o over a year.
- 12:01Um, you're severely injured.
- 12:03You almost died.
- 12:04You, you thought you were gonna die, and yet you go back to the FBI and, and go
- 12:09on to serve 25 years before you retired.
- 12:12Why, why go back at that point in time?
- 12:14It just doesn't seem like a normal thing to do After going through all that.
- 12:19Ed Mireles: You know, that's a tough question to answer, Craig.
- 12:21You know, I mean, it's like, I mean, I, I,
- 12:26I don't wanna sound like a, like a crazy person, but I loved my job,
- 12:31you know, uh, when I was working in Miami, I hated my job in Washington.
- 12:35Okay.
- 12:35When I was in the FBI in Washington, because it was too white collar, you know?
- 12:39I mean, um.
- 12:42There's just, other than Congress, there's no crime in Washington.
- 12:46You know,
- 12:49that's, by the way, in case the audience, I'm taking a shot at Congress, by the
- 12:52way, you know, but when I got to Florida, I mean, there was crime everywhere.
- 12:55I mean, e even even a blind agent can find a, a, a nut, you know, in
- 13:00Miami, Miami at some point in time.
- 13:01It was such a great job.
- 13:04Such a great, i, I tell people, I say, Hey, I would do this
- 13:07job even if you didn't pay me.
- 13:09You know, I mean, it was that fantastic.
- 13:11I mean, you know, I felt I was contributing, I felt I was
- 13:14helping people, you know, helping.
- 13:16You know, I, I looked at it this way, you know, if you have a bad guy, if
- 13:21you have a bad situation, you know, a, a, a criminal, a complete scumbag, uh,
- 13:27who do I want to confront that person?
- 13:29My, my mother.
- 13:30No, I don't want my mother to meet this guy.
- 13:32My sister.
- 13:34No.
- 13:35Your mother, your sister.
- 13:36No.
- 13:37The best person to confront a a terrible person like that is me and
- 13:41guys like me, guys and women like me.
- 13:44You know where, where I was young.
- 13:46I was fit, I was well trained, I was highly motivat motivated, and,
- 13:51and for 1980 I was well armed.
- 13:54Okay.
- 13:54Who were you gonna send?
- 13:55You know, uh, my mom and my or my sister, or are you gonna send me?
- 13:58I was the best person and got women, men and women like me were the best
- 14:02people to send to confront these people.
- 14:05Okay.
- 14:05And I loved my job.
- 14:07Okay.
- 14:07And I couldn't think, you know, I was really terrified that if they amputated my
- 14:11arm, I, I probably would've been retired.
- 14:14You know, medically retired and that, that really terrified
- 14:17me more than getting shot.
- 14:19You think, you know, I'm gonna have to sit home and, and try to do
- 14:22something constructive, you know?
- 14:23And you know what they say?
- 14:24Idle hands or the devil's worked most, but.
- 14:28Bill Erfurth: So Ed, you know, and you were talking about Miami and we can both
- 14:32relate to Miami during the eighties.
- 14:33We both worked.
- 14:35In the, in Miami during that time and, you know, going back and
- 14:38saying it again, I mean, that was the era of the cocaine cowboys.
- 14:43It was from the early eighties, from the Marielle, Marielle, Cuba, uh,
- 14:50boats of refugees that came in when Fidel Castro emptied his prisons
- 14:55and insane asylums and sent 300 some thousand, 300,000 Mary Alitos to Miami.
- 15:02From the early eighties to the, to the early nineties for 10 to
- 15:0712 years, Miami was the crime capital of the United States.
- 15:10There was no place else in the United States that was as
- 15:14wild, ruthless, and dangerous.
- 15:16No, and you know, you're your.
- 15:19Suspects in your shooting situation.
- 15:22Were, were highly armed, but it, it was very common.
- 15:25People were running around, bad guys were running around kilos of cocaine.
- 15:29I mean, the Miami skyline was essentially built on cocaine.
- 15:32Yeah.
- 15:33Brickell Avenue had every international bank in the world during the eighties.
- 15:38On Brickle in Miami and laundered trillions of dollars of money.
- 15:44Yeah, yeah.
- 15:44Guys were running around with, with Uzi, Mac tens, Mac elevens,
- 15:50the shootouts were beyond belief, but this is what's remembered by
- 15:56so many in this situation where unfortunately, two agents were killed.
- 16:01You were seriously wounded.
- 16:02The other, you know, all of you guys.
- 16:05But that finally changed, where now the cops are carrying rifles and the cops went
- 16:11to semi-automatic pistols because it was amazing to me listening to your story,
- 16:17but amazing to me during the eighties, especially early on there with so many
- 16:22crazy people running around with weaponry.
- 16:25And we were running around with six shooters, and I thought, how
- 16:29in the hell does this even work?
- 16:31Ed Mireles: No, I mean, it, we made it work.
- 16:32I mean, men and women like you and, and, and Dade.
- 16:35I tell you what, I love Dade County cops, man, I'm tell you.
- 16:38They, they, they, so many guys and women responded to
- 16:41our, our to help us, you know?
- 16:43And.
- 16:43I, I'm, I'm embarrassed to say that I've forgotten their names.
- 16:46You know, I mean, it's been, it's been almost 40 years, you know, but I mean,
- 16:50you know, my mind's gotten old, you know, but I'll tell you what I mean.
- 16:53You, you, you, you, you've walked the beats, uh, in, in date,
- 16:56you know, I mean, you know.
- 16:58Guys like you and women, men and women like you and Dade and Miami
- 17:02and, and, and Miami Beach and Broward.
- 17:04I mean, tho those guys, I mean, they're the ones that have to, uh,
- 17:07work the front lines, you know?
- 17:09And, um, you know, we all the, we and the bureau, the bureau gets
- 17:13a, uh, sometimes we deserve it.
- 17:15You know, we get a a, a black eye or punch in the nose, you know, that we don't
- 17:19cooperate with local pd. But, you know, there were, there were times when, when
- 17:23we were quite, quite honestly, we were.
- 17:25Asses, you know, but, uh, by, but the defend my, uh, the bureau
- 17:30though, there, there are, and I've seen it from both sides.
- 17:32Okay.
- 17:33Um, there are some cases that, and I've been on task force say, Hey, you're,
- 17:39you're not giving us all the information.
- 17:41And I'm thinking, wow.
- 17:43You know, this information is coming from a, a, it's a sole source, one
- 17:48source in the, the mountains of Pakistan.
- 17:52Okay?
- 17:53And.
- 17:54It has to be held very tightly close to the vest.
- 17:57But we need to go hit this house because there's some suspected
- 18:00terrorists in this house.
- 18:02I can't tell you where this information came from.
- 18:05I, all I can tell you is that I need your help to hit this house.
- 18:08Okay.
- 18:09So, you know, and, and I've seen it from both sides.
- 18:11You know, sometimes, you know, we would just keep information from,
- 18:13from the locust because we were.
- 18:15We were knuckleheads other times, man, you got that sole source
- 18:19on in the mountain in Pakistan.
- 18:21Okay.
- 18:22That was, that was somehow or another, the US intelligence picked
- 18:25up the, the information somehow.
- 18:27And, you know, and gave it to the bureau, and the bureau was acting on it.
- 18:31So we, we can't tell, uh, some poor sheriff in, in Dade County or, or, or
- 18:36Omaha, Nebraska, Hey, where it came from, you know, but we, we just need to
- 18:39act on it, you know, so, so, you know.
- 18:41Yeah.
- 18:42Um, I mean, it, it cuts both ways, but I'll tell you what though.
- 18:44Dade, you know, officers like that are, are, are, are.
- 18:48I mean, you guys, you guys are the, are the, the, the real
- 18:51shield, you know, between, uh, the evil and, and, and the public.
- 18:55But one more thing before I, before we, you know, I don't, I don't wanna,
- 18:59I don't wanna let this conversation go, um, without mentioning this specifically,
- 19:07I showed up.
- 19:09Okay.
- 19:09I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm just one of eight guys that showed up.
- 19:13Okay.
- 19:13I just did what I had to do.
- 19:15Okay.
- 19:16The real heroes in, in this incident are Ben Grogan and Jerry Dove.
- 19:21Okay.
- 19:22They made the ultimate sacrifice.
- 19:25Okay.
- 19:26They, and, and I was there with them.
- 19:28Okay.
- 19:30And I don't wanna sound cliche-ish, but, but, but I'll say it anyway.
- 19:34They put their toes on a line in, in, in the sand.
- 19:38Okay.
- 19:39And they never stepped back.
- 19:41Okay.
- 19:41And they took withering gunfire, like I said, 140 shots.
- 19:46Well, the estimated 140 shots were fired.
- 19:50They never stepped back.
- 19:51And, and, uh, they were both wounded once before they were
- 19:54subsequently shot and killed.
- 19:56But they never, they never stepped back, you know, and I tell people, I say,
- 19:59Hey, they were at the tip of the spear.
- 20:02Uh, and I don't have a diagram to show the audience, but they were facing
- 20:06the subjects this way, and I was off.
- 20:09So they're left behind the car and I managed to come around to the left.
- 20:14I flanked the bad guys and eventually I came back up this way, they
- 20:20gave me time to figure out what I was doing, regroup, formulate a
- 20:26plan, and then execute that plan.
- 20:28Unfortunately, it was not.
- 20:30With enough time to be able to help and save Ben and Jerry.
- 20:34So those two guys are my heroes.
- 20:37Okay.
- 20:37Uh, they're the ones that made, made the ultimate sacrifice.
- 20:41I, I just showed up so.
- 20:44Craig Floyd: Well, you were quite the hero there, ed.
- 20:46Yeah.
- 20:47I don't want you to take.
- 20:48Dennis Collins: Yeah.
- 20:49Craig Floyd: Too little of the credit.
- 20:50But, you know, let's, let's just say the day you and I dedicated the National
- 20:54Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, uh, Ben Grogan and Jerry Dove had their
- 20:59names inscribed on that memorial, and they're gonna be remembered forever more.
- 21:04We will never forget their sacrifice and we'll be talking about them
- 21:07and their heroics and their service for, uh, generations to come, thanks
- 21:13to that memorial and yeah, and the telling the story here today.
- 21:17Certainly help.
- 21:18And in closing, let me just, uh, remind people that, uh, there is a
- 21:21book out there that describes this entire incident, goes into a lot
- 21:25more of the detail and the heroics.
- 21:27It's called FBI, Miami Firefight, written by Ed Mireles.
- 21:32And I encourage people to go out and get that book and, and read the entire story.
- 21:37Uh, Dennis, I know you're scolding as we've probably gone over our time.
- 21:41What a story, what a, how do you.
- 21:43Dennis Collins: How do you, how do you, how do you, uh, call an end to this story?
- 21:46I mean, this, I mean, we could go on for hours, Ed, and, uh.
- 21:50Ed Mireles: Yeah, absolutely.
- 21:51Dennis Collins: Thank you for your, your, your, you know, for doing this
- 21:54over again because you know what, it's important, and I heard, I thought I knew
- 21:59a lot about this story since I kind of.
- 22:01Lived there and was in the news media and so forth.
- 22:04You said things today that I'd never heard before, and so there's always something.
- 22:09And you know, particularly what I enjoyed hearing from you because you know, this is
- 22:14so important in anything you do in life, I don't care what it is, it's your mindset
- 22:20and you spoke to your mindset of survival.
- 22:23This, I, I love your mantra.
- 22:25This is survivable.
- 22:27This is survivable.
- 22:29That is a lesson for all of us.
- 22:31Mm-hmm.
- 22:32If you could survive what happened to you?
- 22:37We can survive the little things, relatively small things that happen to us.
- 22:42Mm-hmm.
- 22:42So I take that lesson from your heroic behavior.
- 22:46This is survivable.
- 22:47Thank you for that.
- 22:48Thank you for planning that, that that is an excellent
- 22:51mantra that we should all use.
- 22:53And in your case, it probably saved your life.
- 22:57Ed Mireles: Absolutely.
- 22:59And thank you gentlemen for having me as a guest.
- 23:01I really appreciate it.
- 23:01Dennis Collins: Well, your story is unbelievable.
