- 1:45Keri Croft: So, you know, I've dreamt of having you two on the show.
- 1:50Keri Croft: Stacy, Tracy.
- 1:51Keri Croft: I mean, the fact that those are your names, first of all, is amazing.
- 1:54Keri Croft: But I've had this, this has already taken place in my head a hundred times.
- 1:58Keri Croft: So welcome to the Carrie Croft Show.
- 2:00Keri Croft: No.
- 2:00Keri Croft: Thank you.
- 2:01Keri Croft: Thank you for having me.
- 2:02Keri Croft: A dream of all dreams.
- 2:03Keri Croft: You kidding me?
- 2:04Keri Croft: You guys are like the power couple.
- 2:06Keri Croft: To me.
- 2:07Keri Croft: Like you're like the Sid and Nancy, like it's like three, I've told you this before.
- 2:12Keri Croft: You're like three parts hot, sexy, fucking amazing animals, and then like a little bit of serial killer.
- 2:20Keri Croft: Like, you know, which I love.
- 2:21Keri Croft: It's like, it's like you, I wouldn't mess with either one of you in a dark alley.
- 2:24Keri Croft: Is that is that on the case?
- 2:26Staci: She can be pretty tough.
- 2:27Traci: Yeah.
- 2:27Traci: You have to.
- 2:28Staci: Yeah, I'm sure.
- 2:29Staci: What'd you have for breakfast?
- 2:31Staci: Same thing I have every morning.
- 2:32Staci: Which is what why I asked?
- 2:33Staci: Bruke yogurt, chia seeds, cup of blueberries, flax meal, pistachios, what's those things?
- 2:41Staci: Papitas and granola and honey.
- 2:44Keri Croft: Because you said I've eaten the same thing for breakfast since like the 70s.
- 2:49Staci: Yeah.
- 2:49Staci: I saw David Lynch like a couple years ago.
- 2:51Staci: He's like, I have raw tuna and broccoli every day for lunch.
- 2:56Staci: And I'm like, wow, dude, that is whack.
- 2:58Staci: But it's so brilliant because it's just fucking easy.
- 3:01Staci: Well, I think it's good and it's good for you, and you don't have to think about it.
- 3:05Keri Croft: I'm a creature of habit and I'm someone who I want food taken off my plate.
- 3:10Keri Croft: I don't want to have to think about it.
- 3:11Keri Croft: So I'm with you.
- 3:12Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 3:12Keri Croft: What about you?
- 3:12Keri Croft: Did you have breakfast?
- 3:13Keri Croft: You don't eat breakfast.
- 3:14Keri Croft: You're a nibbler.
- 3:16Traci: I'm a nibbler.
- 3:17Traci: I have too much going on until about one o'clock, two o'clock, and that's when I usually eat.
- 3:23Traci: But I am a nibbler.
- 3:25Keri Croft: But you now you're intermittent fasting nibbler.
- 3:27Traci: No, I just have always I've never eaten breakfast ever since I was little.
- 3:30Traci: Never.
- 3:31Traci: My daughter doesn't, Billy doesn't eat it either.
- 3:33Traci: It's just, you know, I'm sure it's like low cortisol or some bullshit like that.
- 3:38Staci: I think I've read some people eat like morning eaters.
- 3:41Staci: So if you know you want to do the eight-hour eats, eat a day and not the rest 16, then you know, but some people eat the morning eating.
- 3:48Traci: Yeah, I drink my Joey, I have water, and then and then I don't really get hungry.
- 3:55Keri Croft: So Tracy, you were a part of this in real life event the other night.
- 3:58Keri Croft: So now people are going to be seeing you on this.
- 4:00Keri Croft: Like, oh my gosh, I recognize her.
- 4:01Keri Croft: She was one of the seven baddies.
- 4:03Keri Croft: You had a good experience.
- 4:04Keri Croft: You had a good time.
- 4:05Traci: It was amazing.
- 4:06Traci: I mean, you killed it.
- 4:07Traci: It was the most inspirational, I mean, thing that I have been to, and I'd probably ever.
- 4:14Traci: Um, I have never been in a room that was all females, and everybody was open, and it was just, I was just inspired, you know.
- 4:25Traci: I I would say this you don't judge a book by its cover.
- 4:29Traci: These women, I mean, I cry, I like had tears in some of the, you know, when somebody was speaking.
- 4:35Traci: I I think that everybody brings something to the table.
- 4:38Traci: And I think that you curated these p women and this event so seamlessly.
- 4:44Traci: And I was, I mean, I can't stop talking about it to people.
- 4:47Traci: Everybody I talk to about it, if they ask me, I, you know, and back to you and, you know, just badass.
- 4:55Keri Croft: I'm so happy to hear that that it hit because when I was creating it, in my head, I'm like, I there's just all these different flavors of badass.
- 5:03Keri Croft: Like I almost got offended where I'm like, you know, people don't understand when I say badass.
- 5:07Keri Croft: They think I'm talking about like tough and you know, it's like, no, your badass is like your essence.
- 5:12Keri Croft: Who you are, like your kindness and your ability to like really truly want to surprise and delight.
- 5:19Keri Croft: Yeah, that is badass.
- 5:20Keri Croft: Like one of your, like, you know, yeah.
- 5:23Keri Croft: And so all the different women, yeah, you know, some were like kind of goth, some were kind of like, you know, gingham.
- 5:28Keri Croft: Some were like, I mean, it's like I wanted everyone to just bring it.
- 5:32Keri Croft: It was awesome.
- 5:33Traci: It was very real.
- 5:34Traci: And and I loved how you curated and kind of surprised everybody with uh questions.
- 5:40Traci: And I think everybody was engaged.
- 5:42Traci: We'll be ready for the next lifting for sure.
- 5:44Traci: I appreciate that.
- 5:45Keri Croft: I cannot wait to the next no, it's gonna be really good.
- 5:47Keri Croft: Yeah, so let's talk about Paul and Joe Studio.
- 5:49Keri Croft: Okay.
- 5:50Keri Croft: Um, and I I mentioned this briefly the other night, but I am gonna talk about it again because it this is just this just is a testament to how extremely talented you are, and the two of you together.
- 6:01Keri Croft: I mean, you'll admit you're the financial side and you are the fix it guy.
- 6:05Keri Croft: You're not necessarily like doing all the, you're the creative, right?
- 6:08Keri Croft: You're the one that's like putting the so I am very finicky about my home and design, and it's always been very challenging for me to find someone to help me.
- 6:19Keri Croft: I like this part of what they do or that part of what they do.
- 6:22Keri Croft: And I always just felt like it's just never gonna be a thing that I find a soulmate.
- 6:26Keri Croft: Dorchester.
- 6:29Traci: Yes.
- 6:29Keri Croft: You do this house.
- 6:30Keri Croft: Yes.
- 6:31Keri Croft: I somehow see it.
- 6:32Keri Croft: Yes.
- 6:33Keri Croft: I start looking through these rooms and I'm like, I need to know who did this house.
- 6:38Keri Croft: And it was hard to find you.
- 6:39Keri Croft: You had a PO, but I looked up Franklin County Otter.
- 6:42Keri Croft: I was stalking there.
- 6:43Keri Croft: I stalked you for six months, I couldn't find you for six months.
- 6:47Keri Croft: I had no idea how to find you.
- 6:49Keri Croft: And then someone who I know for some other random reason showed me this house.
- 6:55Keri Croft: I'm like, you know this, you know this person.
- 6:57Keri Croft: I have to know who is behind this.
- 6:59Keri Croft: And it was Paul and Joe Studio, and then the rest is history.
- 7:02Traci: Yeah.
- 7:02Traci: We we pretty much launched Paul and Joe.
- 7:05Traci: We we were, you know, uh another LLC, STR, LLC just to, you know, start our business, but it wasn't really a thoughtful.
- 7:15Traci: And um Dorchester was kind of our baby to kind of show the world, you know, what we were about.
- 7:21Traci: And um, and we kind of in tandem launched it right when we did um launched our brand, you know, our website.
- 7:29Traci: You know, I started Instagram and really, really hit it hard um for that.
- 7:35Traci: So it was all that's why we it was wasn't really like we weren't really out there until uh Dorchester.
- 7:43Traci: So And then you were out there.
- 7:45Keri Croft: And Dorchester was like, I mean, that was like Yeah.
- 7:49Traci: It was a spec home, you know, he can talk more about it.
- 7:51Traci: So it was something, you know, the price point was probably higher than than Columbus was ready for in that area.
- 8:00Traci: Um, but it was fully designed from head to toe, you know, very thoughtful design.
- 8:06Traci: You know, I spent a lot of money, probably too much money, he'll say, on like the lighting package or the materials that was very important to me to represent who we were, especially coming out of the gate launching.
- 8:19Traci: So it was, you know, very indicative of what we were about, you know, high-end luxury homes.
- 8:26Traci: Tell people why you named it Paul and Joe Studio.
- 8:29Traci: Well, it would not be delicious Tracy and Stacy design studio.
- 8:36Traci: Really vomit.
- 8:37Traci: So um uh I am um uh second generation Joe.
- 8:44Traci: So my mother Mary Joe, Tracy Joe, my daughter Billy Joe, Jay uh Stacy is third generation.
- 8:52Traci: His grandfather was actually Paul, then Gary Paul, his father, then Stacy Paul, and our son is Jacob Paul.
- 8:59Traci: So it just sounded and it was a little bit what, country, a little bit city, very us, I think.
- 9:05Traci: I came up with it.
- 9:06Keri Croft: Well, speaking of that, let's talk about the juxtaposition sitting here.
- 9:10Keri Croft: This this is so fascinating.
- 9:12Keri Croft: And anyone who knows you guys, I mean, everyone I talk to says the same thing when they meet him.
- 9:18Keri Croft: They're like, oh my God, he's so cute.
- 9:20Keri Croft: And he's a farmer too, and he's a city guy.
- 9:23Keri Croft: Like what they want to understand, like they want to peel it back because it really isn't what you would get in one package most of the time.
- 9:31Keri Croft: So you're this you look very urban and metro on the surface, but you're a farmer and you have a a farm close to Lima, and you would probably rather be there than anywhere, right?
- 9:41Keri Croft: Correct.
- 9:42Keri Croft: So, like tell us what you do there, like besides almost light the whole thing on fire, like the one time I we had a little field fire that day.
- 9:50Traci: Here, come and visit.
- 9:51Staci: I'll never forget it.
- 9:53Staci: What do we do?
- 9:54Staci: Well, we grow uh corn and soybeans, and we've been starting to do some cover crops for sustainability and weed control and making the earth better.
- 10:06Staci: But that's what we do spring and the fall mostly.
- 10:10Staci: Um, and then we also have a a big grain elevator that we bought in 2019, end of 2019.
- 10:16Staci: And we haul our grain too, sorry, and uh and we buy other local farmers' grain, who brings it to us.
- 10:23Staci: So, and that provides a 10-month another job for brothers and us, me and my nephews.
- 10:32Staci: But you'd rather be there than anywhere, right?
- 10:34Staci: Uh um most days, yeah.
- 10:37Staci: I mean, I grew up there and and not yeah, there's just something when you work in the when you work with the land and you work with Mother Nature and there's no uh people barking at you and there's no people having expectations, it's just you and the earth.
- 10:54Staci: And it's wacko and it's crazy because it's super you know, you plant in the spring and you hope you get rain and you hope you get sun, and you get all of it, you just may not get the timing that you want.
- 11:08Staci: So it's uh it's a gamble every spring financially, and you know, normally we do all right.
- 11:15Keri Croft: So well, you said something in your intake form.
- 11:18Keri Croft: You said we're in a di you said a digital world when the the trees and plants are waving at you every day.
- 11:24Keri Croft: I thought that was a really cool way of saying it.
- 11:26Keri Croft: Like, why are we all on our phones when there's trees and plants just waving hello every day?
- 11:31Keri Croft: You know, you're right.
- 11:32Staci: Well, it's soothing.
- 11:33Staci: It's soothing.
- 11:34Staci: I mean, even you know, I try to walk several times a you know, uh a week in the morning, and I don't like walking through the houses, but I, you know, that's what's there is the sky and there and the and the trees, and that's that's calming to me, and a little music, of course, but it's busy.
- 11:51Staci: It's not busy out in the out in the nature, you know.
- 11:53Staci: It's busy for the critters, but yeah, it's it's calming for the critters.
- 11:57Keri Croft: Listen, like the way you talk is like it's so good.
- 12:00Keri Croft: I fucking love it.
- 12:02Keri Croft: So with Paul and Joe, I feel like you guys have gotten so busy and your business has evolved into now you're doing Airbnbs and all kinds of stuff, right?
- 12:15Keri Croft: So somebody really couldn't even they could hire you if they wanted to just to do like design, but how are you evolved now from where you were three years ago?
- 12:22Keri Croft: What is your main, like what do you want to be doing most?
- 12:28Traci: Me.
- 12:28Traci: Um well, um I will probably want to design until the day I die, in some way, shape, or form.
- 12:36Traci: Um, I think we are best together as starting something on our own.
- 12:43Traci: So buying a house and reimagining it, like the Ravine project.
- 12:49Traci: I think that's kind of where we both would rather be versus working with clients.
- 12:54Traci: There's just so many stresses that come with that.
- 12:57Traci: You know, for them, people are putting money into something.
- 13:00Traci: So financially it's a stress on them.
- 13:02Traci: Usually they're moving as well into this new home.
- 13:06Traci: So there's another layer of stress.
- 13:08Traci: Um, and, you know, you're at the mercy of other people, you know, you can't control everything, right?
- 13:15Traci: So if someone, a trade person fails, then everything behind it also, you know, gets, you know, pushed back.
- 13:24Traci: So that uncertainty and that stress is something that, you know, I don't think he loves anymore.
- 13:30Traci: And and I think for me, I just really want to create.
- 13:34Traci: So, you know, I'll take some projects that a whole house that I can affect the whole environment.
- 13:41Traci: It's hard to come in and just do a room.
- 13:43Traci: I really, you know, although I love to do it, I just it's it's just not worth my time right now.
- 13:50Traci: I think it's not my passion anymore.
- 13:52Traci: I want to be able to affect everything, you know, a whole environment.
- 13:56Keri Croft: Speaking of the ravine project, yes, I had the opportunity to go look at it a couple weeks ago.
- 14:02Keri Croft: And I mean, just like I and I could tell the love and the everything you guys had put into that.
- 14:08Keri Croft: That's like a really special one.
- 14:09Keri Croft: It's it was unbelievable.
- 14:11Traci: Absolutely the most special architectural home that we've ever touched.
- 14:16Traci: Um, it just has so much story behind it, and it's on this plot of land that is just mind-blowing, you know, seven acres and on a ravine.
- 14:26Traci: It's like, you know, I mean, he we would be living there probably if if our kids weren't in school in Upper Arlington.
- 14:34Traci: But, you know, the nature is all around you and 25-foot ceilings, floating stairs.
- 14:40Traci: I mean, just it, it just, you know, continues to amaze you when you're in the space.
- 14:46Traci: So it was really exciting to create something that had such an incredible bones.
- 14:53Keri Croft: And you knew from a very young age that you wanted to create, right?
- 14:57Keri Croft: You were watching a movie with your mom.
- 14:58Keri Croft: Yes.
- 14:59Keri Croft: What a way to go.
- 15:00Keri Croft: Yes, my very favorite.
- 15:01Keri Croft: Shirley McLean.
- 15:02Keri Croft: Oh, and I mean, come on.
- 15:04Traci: Like anything she's in, I'm like, I just and this she was like young, and she it's it's basically her, and she marries five or six different men.
- 15:14Traci: You know, everybody's in there.
- 15:16Traci: Paul Newman, Robert Mitchin, um, Dick Van Dyke, Tony Curtis, everybody.
- 15:22Traci: And it's it is like a mini-movie within each one of her marriages, it has a mini-movie in it.
- 15:29Traci: And it is, I remember, I think I've seen it 150 times, probably.
- 15:33Traci: And the set designs were so like she was married to Gene Kelly.
- 15:39Traci: That's how it opens up.
- 15:41Traci: And he was a singer, and his favorite color, his name was Pinky.
- 15:46Traci: And so the whole entire thing was color drenched, our favorite.
- 15:49Traci: Right.
- 15:50Traci: And it was all pink, right?
- 15:52Traci: That's how the opening scene is.
- 15:53Traci: And she's in this amazing, full-blown bikini walking around with a bitch stick in her hand, you know, just full tilt, right?
- 16:00Traci: And ever since then, I was just like, that's it.
- 16:04Traci: Uh I need to be able to create something like that, right?
- 16:08Traci: And it just changed.
- 16:09Traci: Each scene would change, and it was her her outfits and her jewelry, and it was just amazing, head to toe.
- 16:16Traci: So that's probably what did it for me.
- 16:20Keri Croft: I love that.
- 16:21Traci: Yeah.
- 16:22Keri Croft: I have a couple questions for you.
- 16:23Keri Croft: So you were a shy kid.
- 16:25Keri Croft: Were you shy?
- 16:27Staci: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:27Keri Croft: Were you cripplingly shy?
- 16:29Staci: Probably.
- 16:30Keri Croft: Just was that just by nature?
- 16:32Keri Croft: Probably.
- 16:33Keri Croft: Just where yeah, I guess.
- 16:36Staci: I don't know.
- 16:37Keri Croft: Well, you'd mentioned that like in your mid-20s, you had the opportunity to be around strong women.
- 16:42Staci: Yeah.
- 16:43Keri Croft: Who were these strong women that helped to like bring the shy the to kill you of your shyness?
- 16:47Staci: Well, they didn't kill it, but they certainly helped it.
- 16:49Staci: And they were, it was um, I worked for a Fortune 100 company in town back in the early 90s.
- 16:57Staci: And you know, there's probably 70 people there, and they one of the one of the centers of like five in the in the in the nation, and they were run by mostly women accountants.
- 17:08Staci: Super boring, right?
- 17:11Staci: But the lady that ran it was actually from Lyme, Ohio.
- 17:14Staci: And and they all were incredibly strong, uh, incredibly, they hold held everybody accountable.
- 17:22Staci: They were never negative, always positive, kept to-do lists.
- 17:25Staci: I mean, ran that place like a like a computer, but with with kindness and and support.
- 17:33Staci: And, you know, and then you know, part of my job was to just talk to people out in the field every day.
- 17:40Staci: And I'm like, I can't call these people, I don't know them.
- 17:42Staci: What am I gonna say?
- 17:43Staci: You know, so you didn't have a choice.
- 17:45Staci: So that was, I mean, it was a it was an incredible experience, and it wasn't just one of the women, there were several of them.
- 17:51Staci: Another lady, another girl, she was from Lima as well, and she's the one who who I knew to get in there, and uh all incredible management people and all incredible uh people to learn from.
- 18:02Staci: So it amazing experience.
- 18:05Keri Croft: So you knew from a pretty young age how incredibly powerful and wonderful and run the world that women are.
- 18:14Staci: Well, yeah, like why else would you want to be with anybody anything less?
- 18:20Staci: No, I know personally, right?
- 18:22Staci: That's me.
- 18:23Keri Croft: Yeah, well, you even said Brene Brown's like your ultimate.
- 18:25Keri Croft: Yes.
- 18:25Keri Croft: Yes.
- 18:27Keri Croft: She's so good, isn't she?
- 18:28Keri Croft: You said she'll bring you to tears.
- 18:31Staci: She she is she is I love her.
- 18:33Staci: And and and I've heard her speak uh in podcasts many times.
- 18:38Staci: I don't normally have the patience to sit there for an hour, but sh it doesn't matter.
- 18:43Staci: It only takes five minutes, and she'll say something, you'll be like, Jesus.
- 18:47Keri Croft: And the way she says it.
- 18:48Staci: Yeah, and you know, she's so vulnerable and she's so open and she's so encompassing of everything that's around the subject she's talking about.
- 18:57Staci: It's there's no bullshit.
- 18:58Staci: It's all out on the table.
- 19:00Keri Croft: I love how she reframed um the man in the arena and made that relevant again.
- 19:06Staci: Yeah.
- 19:06Keri Croft: The the quote around, you know, it's not the critic who sits in the stands and it's the the person that's actually in the arena doing it and with blood, sweat, and all this.
- 19:14Keri Croft: And that like really shifted her because before she was so like, you know, the comments people were making and the the insecurities.
- 19:22Keri Croft: And once she saw that again, she was like, Oh my God, like unless you are in the ring, you don't, it doesn't matter what other people think.
- 19:29Keri Croft: Yeah, you know, they're all in the cheap seats.
- 19:32Keri Croft: And what I noticed from both of you, um, not just as people, but what you wrote, you know, neither one of you really care what other people think.
- 19:40Keri Croft: You know, it's kind of ingrained in who you are, um, which I think is great.
- 19:44Keri Croft: You kind of have this rebellious sort of uh persona, and I think you both get it honest.
- 19:50Keri Croft: You probably from like moving 10 times and you know, having to recreate yourself and you just being the stubborn, you know, farming mule that you are.
- 19:59Keri Croft: But raising these two great kids you have right now, how do you like how do you finesse that?
- 20:05Keri Croft: Because you can't just be like, it doesn't matter what everyone thinks and don't care.
- 20:08Keri Croft: And how do we finesse that with kids right now who care so much about what people think and you know how much it doesn't matter, you know?
- 20:19Staci: It's I'm not good at it, but she's amazing at it, and she's just there for 'em, let you know, better than anybody.
- 20:28Traci: Yeah.
- 20:29Traci: Thanks, Jam.
- 20:30Traci: Yeah.
- 20:31Traci: So you talk.
- 20:32Traci: Oh, I think, you know, one, they always know they have a safe space, right?
- 20:42Traci: They always have a safe space to come and talk to me no matter what.
- 20:46Traci: And, you know, middle school teenage is rough.
- 20:52Traci: I uh it was easy in elementary school, but you know, and there's no book, right?
- 20:58Traci: I mean, or at least it's every person is different, right?
- 21:01Traci: So you just nurture the hell out of them, you know, and make sure that they know that they can talk to you.
- 21:06Traci: And I even learned something when I was, you know, at the event, you know, and you know, I I try to be a really good listener, number one, right?
- 21:17Traci: Just let them get it off their chest.
- 21:19Traci: I try not to give too much advice because I've found from my daughter that, you know, she just wants to be heard.
- 21:29Traci: And not she's like, mom, not everything is a life lesson, you know, and and sometimes you just have to be there and listen and be their friend, but kind of guide them a little bit, you know.
- 21:42Traci: I mean, I think the number one thing is just listen.
- 21:45Keri Croft: Well, what what did you look?
- 21:46Keri Croft: I think I know what you're gonna say about the other night when we had the conversation.
- 21:50Keri Croft: Was it with Lisa, who is a boss?
- 21:52Traci: Yeah, blew me away.
- 21:54Traci: That's where I almost start crying.
- 21:56Traci: I mean, it was so relevant, and you just don't know.
- 21:59Traci: Know exactly how to show up sometimes when they have difficulty because sometimes you just want to say, just get over it.
- 22:06Traci: It's not good.
- 22:06Traci: Tomorrow you won't even give a shit, right?
- 22:09Traci: But it's real to them, and it's you know, you're in it.
- 22:12Traci: And so, and you know, the advice that she was giving, and I actually talked to her, and I'd love to go to lunch with you know us, but I I think just you know, not putting what you think and how you feel onto them and really just letting them feel like it's a safe space to talk and tell you what's going on.
- 22:34Traci: And she actually was really brilliant.
- 22:36Traci: She was like, when I talked to her offline, she was like, just let her when she's telling you, re-say what she's saying.
- 22:45Traci: So she hears it and realizes that maybe it's not as big a deal as she thinks it is, you know?
- 22:52Traci: And it it stuck with me.
- 22:54Traci: It stuck with me to like, how can I improve?
- 22:57Traci: How can I be better for these children?
- 22:59Traci: Right.
- 22:59Traci: I I do everything.
- 23:01Traci: I bend over backwards, you know, and most mothers do, right?
- 23:04Traci: Anything I can do special for them, I do.
- 23:06Traci: And I think the biggest thing all they want is just love and security and time.
- 23:13Traci: And time with you.
- 23:14Traci: Absolutely.
- 23:15Keri Croft: And I think you you guys aren't alone in that you probably aren't as good at it.
- 23:19Keri Croft: Well, first of all, Ann, you're the, you know, very rural lima, nose to the grindstone, but you're also a male of a certain age, and you guys are hardwired to be a certain way.
- 23:30Keri Croft: You know, Brady's the same thing.
- 23:32Keri Croft: He will be much more likely to be like Dane, especially with Dane, you know, move on, dude.
- 23:36Keri Croft: We don't cry, get over it.
- 23:38Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 23:39Keri Croft: Kind of these things where I'm like, yeah, you know, and then I am the softer sort of like wanting to feel and even I I bet your way even better than me, because I also have a lack of patience and can be, you know, whatever.
- 23:53Keri Croft: But I agree.
- 23:54Keri Croft: I mean, I think the balance of when you say being their friend, like not being too much of their friend, right?
- 24:00Keri Croft: But enough that they do feel like you're they're gonna share their deepest, darkest with you.
- 24:05Keri Croft: And I think once you screw that up, yeah.
- 24:09Traci: You can't, I yeah, I almost did.
- 24:11Traci: And when she checked me and told, you know, and then you're like, I she won't tell me anything.
- 24:16Traci: So I've gotta like watch what I say.
- 24:18Keri Croft: Because you you want I feel like you have this pressure to feel so profound with everything you say, you know.
- 24:23Keri Croft: It's like I have this chance to parent here and I have this chance to be this sage-wise owl, but every once in a while it's like, bro.
- 24:29Traci: And girls are 10 times harder than boys, right?
- 24:33Traci: I mean, just the drama and the roller coaster ride of being a teenager is real.
- 24:39Keri Croft: Oh, yeah.
- 24:39Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 24:40Keri Croft: And you're buckle up.
- 24:41Keri Croft: No, I know, I can't even imagine.
- 24:42Keri Croft: I'm gonna be so old by then, it's gonna be like just, you know, come on, Sonny.
- 24:47Keri Croft: Like, give mom a break.
- 24:49Keri Croft: And your kids, oh my god, I can't.
- 24:50Keri Croft: How how tall is he now?
- 24:52Keri Croft: Six's two?
- 24:53Traci: Oh my god.
- 24:54Traci: He is 14, 13 and a half.
- 24:57Traci: J.
- 24:58Traci: I know.
- 24:59Traci: It's insane.
- 25:00Keri Croft: And he's like this gentle giant.
- 25:02Traci: Like he's the sweetest kid.
- 25:03Traci: He is a good boy.
- 25:04Traci: The sweetest kid, yes.
- 25:06Traci: He is a really good kid.
- 25:07Traci: And then Billy, man, she's gonna be.
- 25:08Traci: Oh god, watch out.
- 25:10Traci: She's gonna be me times, yeah.
- 25:12Traci: I mean, I had confidence, but I didn't have confidence like she does.
- 25:15Traci: And she just doesn't give a shit.
- 25:17Traci: She's I I think I'm winning um because I think she is stronger than I ever imagined.
- 25:24Traci: And she doesn't, you know, she lets things roll off our back more than I probably did, or more than I've seen, you know.
- 25:32Traci: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:32Traci: Well, that's a good sign.
- 25:33Traci: Yeah.
- 25:34Traci: So, and luckily they tell me everything right now.
- 25:37Traci: So hopefully it stays that way.
- 25:38Traci: Yeah, right.

- 26:54Keri Croft: Let's let's pivot a little bit to entrepreneurship.
- 26:59Keri Croft: Okay.
- 26:59Keri Croft: Because you also said something else I love.
- 27:01Keri Croft: I just love the matter-of-fact nature of how you say things.
- 27:04Keri Croft: You just said, you know, entrepreneurship is a grind.
- 27:07Keri Croft: It's a long-term commitment, aside from like those few that kind of hit it big, you know, it doesn't happen all the time to do that in one in like one to three years.
- 27:15Keri Croft: It's a long-term commitment.
- 27:16Keri Croft: And you said you'd better love what you're doing, otherwise stay home.
- 27:20Keri Croft: I love that.
- 27:22Keri Croft: Because you're right.
- 27:24Staci: Yeah, absolutely.
- 27:24Staci: I mean, and whether you're an entrepreneur or whether you go to the Ford plant or whatever, you know, you gotta love what you do.
- 27:34Staci: I mean, we're time's only so long, and you only got one day every day by day.
- 27:40Staci: So it's you gotta love it.
- 27:42Staci: And that, you know, as you get older, I'm getting older, right?
- 27:44Staci: You're we're all are, but I'm like, okay, I've only got X amount of years.
- 27:48Staci: We always used to say, I'm just this young, but now you're not, you're getting older.
- 27:52Staci: And I in those days, every day counts.
- 27:55Staci: It does.
- 27:56Staci: And every day counts when you're 25, but I was too stupid and running like a wild child.
- 28:01Staci: So with this, we you know, we got together and I probably still kept doing that for another five or six years.
- 28:07Keri Croft: Did she settle you down?
- 28:08Keri Croft: Hell no.
- 28:08Keri Croft: She she lasso'ed you down like that.
- 28:10Keri Croft: Yes, she did.
- 28:12Keri Croft: You don't want to admit it.
- 28:13Keri Croft: But your your work ethic is pretty.
- 28:16Keri Croft: I mean, people could take a look at it.
- 28:18Staci: I've been working since I was eight years old, probably seven.
- 28:22Keri Croft: And I think just a farmer's life in general.
- 28:24Keri Croft: I mean, it doesn't end like you're it's a I mean, I feel like I wouldn't you wouldn't meet a lazy farmer, right?
- 28:29Keri Croft: You don't you don't grow your you can meet one, but they won't be in business.
- 28:32Keri Croft: Well, right.
- 28:33Keri Croft: But you you so you're doing that on top of all the other stuff.
- 28:36Keri Croft: I mean, you're kind of constantly working.
- 28:39Staci: Yeah.
- 28:40Staci: Yeah, we're trying to figure that out a little bit.
- 28:42Staci: So, but it's I mean, that's all I ever knew.
- 28:46Staci: It's all I've ever known.
- 28:47Staci: You know, it's all that my parents ever known.
- 28:49Staci: You just there's grass to be mowed, there's barns to be fixed, there's sheep to be fed.
- 28:56Staci: I don't like sheep anymore.
- 28:58Staci: There's there's corners.
- 29:00Staci: What did the sheep do to you?
- 29:01Staci: Uh huh.
- 29:02Staci: What did the sheep do to you?
- 29:03Staci: Well, you just see a lot when you're a young kid, and yeah, you don't need to hear the stories.
- 29:10Staci: And they're just snotty, stupid shit.
- 29:13Staci: What do you mean?
- 29:13Staci: Give me one story.
- 29:14Staci: And you gotta give one story now.
- 29:16Staci: I'm piqued.
- 29:16Staci: Well, when you hold a baby lambs up like this, and your dad cuts their nuts off.
- 29:23Staci: Oh because that's what you gotta do.
- 29:25Staci: You gotta do it.
- 29:26Staci: Yeah, I know.
- 29:27Staci: Yeah, okay.
- 29:29Staci: Traumatizing at eight.
- 29:31Staci: Oh my god.
- 29:32Staci: You know, and you're like, I'm like eight or ten.
- 29:34Staci: I'm like, Jesus, dad, this is fucked up, bro.
- 29:37Staci: What are we doing?
- 29:39Staci: You know, after the 18th lambda just screaming its head off after oh, there's no no wonder.
- 29:46Staci: No wonder you're constantly moving to work and you're like trying to stay away from the sheep trauma.
- 29:50Staci: No, you know.
- 29:58Staci: And I love animals, and you know, and this one here, she's I like you need to get a barn and some chickens and a couple goats, and you can talk to them every day because they don't back talk.
- 30:07Staci: They always like to see you, especially when you feed them, and they you know, they're wonderful.
- 30:13Keri Croft: You can have your like, where do you see yourself in, you know, like let's say 10 years?
- 30:18Keri Croft: Like in a yeah, you have all your cars you've collected and maybe some animals running around.
- 30:24Keri Croft: Like, do you see yourself slowing down?
- 30:27Staci: Well, yeah, I mean, that's the goal, but I I don't know how you do that.
- 30:31Staci: My my grandpa retired at 50, my dad retired at 50.
- 30:36Staci: I don't see that happening anytime soon, but I want to work towards that, right?
- 30:40Staci: So I can't slow down, but I'm trying my body's slowing down.
- 30:45Staci: So I, you know, you gotta try to focus on that.
- 30:49Keri Croft: So how helpful has meditation been for you?
- 30:52Keri Croft: So you said you've been meditating since 2020.
- 30:54Keri Croft: Or like that's the breath work.
- 30:56Staci: I did the breath work and then I do some light exercises three, four times every morning.
- 31:01Keri Croft: We want to know, okay, what is the breath work and what are the light exercises?
- 31:05Keri Croft: Take us through, take us through the details.
- 31:07Staci: Every morning I get my first blueberries out and make my bowl and get it ready to eat after that routine.
- 31:14Staci: Yeah.
- 31:14Staci: And then you I do uh uh like a Wim Hof method, three sets of 40 of breathing in and breathing out.
- 31:22Staci: Um then you it's there's a 45-minute vice film about Wim Hof.
- 31:29Staci: Everybody should watch.
- 31:31Staci: Um, so I do that, and then I do a 4, 7, 8, inhale 4, hold 7, exhale 8, probably five, six, eight times.
- 31:40Staci: Um that all takes about 20 minutes because you hold your breath on those three sets of the Wim Hofs as long as you can.
- 31:48Staci: And then you exhale and hold it again.
- 31:50Staci: It's it'll make you dizzy, you gotta lay down because until your body's used to it, it it'll blow your head up for a minute.
- 31:58Staci: Um, anyway, so and then you know, I do some I've been doing some light weights for arms and core and legs, which I hate.
- 32:08Staci: What what what's the poundage there?
- 32:10Staci: Oh, just 15 and 20s, just super slow, easy movements.
- 32:13Staci: That's heavier than what I was and you know it sucks, but it's I always feel good afterwards.
- 32:21Staci: I'm beefing up a tit.
- 32:24Staci: And hey, it's pool season coming up.
- 32:28Keri Croft: Hey, I just got my social clip I needed.
- 32:30Keri Croft: Thank you.
- 32:33Keri Croft: Thank you, Stacy.
- 32:35Keri Croft: Barbara Stacy.
- 32:36Keri Croft: He's oh he's beefing up a titch, y'all.
- 32:41Traci: Pool season.
- 32:42Traci: That's right.
- 32:42Staci: It is pool season.
- 32:43Staci: So you know, but you you read all this stuff as you get old, you lot losing muscle, you start losing muscle mass, you start losing A, B, C, you know, fuck the list doesn't go any shorter.
- 32:54Staci: So you gotta start doing, you gotta start moving.
- 32:58Staci: My dad stopped moving when he was 55 years old, and it does, it's not good for you.
- 33:03Staci: And and and and staying being able to stand on one on one leg for 20 seconds, try it, do it in the dark.
- 33:09Staci: You can't do it unless you're really freaking good.
- 33:11Staci: And it's just stupid little things like that that I like to do to see if I can do it.
- 33:18Keri Croft: No, I'm the same when I work out.
- 33:20Keri Croft: I I've been doing this for a while.
- 33:21Keri Croft: I do try to do things on one leg.
- 33:23Keri Croft: Yeah, because I know the importance of just agility and balance.
- 33:27Keri Croft: Oh my god.
- 33:28Keri Croft: And it just makes me feel stronger.
- 33:29Keri Croft: It's like if you and I'm always trying to take something up a notch too.
- 33:33Keri Croft: I'm like, well, if I can do this on two legs, yeah, what does it feel like to do it on one leg?
- 33:38Keri Croft: I'm doing that a lot.
- 33:39Keri Croft: I do that a lot.
- 33:40Keri Croft: It's tough.
- 33:41Keri Croft: Didn't do it this morning, but I do that a lot.
- 33:44Keri Croft: Oh my god, you guys are like the best.
- 33:49Keri Croft: Uh, great grandpa Rose, I asked you, do you have any childhood memories?
- 33:54Keri Croft: And you're like, I remember great grandpa Rose saying, Hi there, little feller.
- 33:59Staci: He he was grandma's grandma's dad, and he would all I remember as a kid, we'd drive by his soybean field, they're all in 30-inch rows, right?
- 34:11Staci: And he would be out there hoeing with a handle the weeds.
- 34:15Staci: That was before chemicals and herbicides, but and he I would go into grandma's kitchen and and he'd have his bib overalls on and have his hat in his hand, and he was the kindest, quietest.
- 34:27Staci: How you doing there, little fella?
- 34:29Staci: And you knew that.
- 34:30Staci: And I know where I now I'm like, that's where I get my high voice, right?
- 34:34Staci: And I'm being like, Oh, I'm okay, I guess.
- 34:36Staci: I don't know, you know, and he's just always smiling.
- 34:39Keri Croft: And I don't know why that wrote that down because I never talk about it, but speaking of his voice, because it's so endearing and it's so great, but when you're listening to it all the time and he pisses you off, I bet you're like, you just better shut the fuck up.
- 34:52Keri Croft: Oh, yeah, with your voice.
- 34:53Keri Croft: Yes, you know what I mean?
- 34:54Keri Croft: All those like qualities that are so unique to whomever.
- 34:57Keri Croft: I can imagine you just being like, because it probably gets real high pitched when he's upset.
- 35:01Staci: Yeah, I can see I can see you just getting real Oh, it's a goddamn cat fight.
- 35:07Keri Croft: I mean, we don't back down.
- 35:09Keri Croft: I bet we don't back down.
- 35:10Keri Croft: I bet I bet you probably backed it because just to get out of it.
- 35:14Keri Croft: Like I'll walk away.
- 35:16Keri Croft: The the you know, this is a great walk away.
- 35:19Keri Croft: Okay, I might have 10 words and then I'll walk away.
- 35:22Keri Croft: This is a great segue into having a business and a marriage and kids with the same human being.
- 35:29Keri Croft: Yeah, and we romanticize things, but I think we all know it's hard ass work.
- 35:34Keri Croft: Each of those separate things are hard work, and then you add them all together.
- 35:37Keri Croft: You guys don't get a break.
- 35:38Keri Croft: No, it there's yeah.
- 35:40Staci: We get a break in the spring and the fall when I go back to the farm, stay at the farmhouse and work.
- 35:44Staci: I mean, yes, that's a physical break.
- 35:46Staci: And it's you know, it's it's good for both of us because it's you do get, I mean, you know, if we didn't work together, it would be a different thing, but it's a nice break just to because it does, it puts a lot of stuff on just a light pause.
- 36:01Staci: And you know, absence makes the heart grow fonder, I think, is what's been said before.
- 36:06Staci: Yeah, it's healthy for both of us, and it's healthy for us, especially since we're in business together.
- 36:10Keri Croft: Yeah, best part of being in business together.
- 36:13Staci: Best is there a best?
- 36:16Staci: Is there a best?
- 36:17Staci: Wait, that was you know, for me, I think it's all her.
- 36:23Staci: We were able to create some pretty nice looking spaces, and she's uber creative, and the col uh uh the colorist of that she is is is you know mind blowing from room to room to room.
- 36:38Staci: I know it's mind blowing, but it's you know what it is, because it's it's a it's a talent, and you know, I'm very proud of what she's created.
- 36:45Staci: You know, I'm just making sure we don't run out of money, which that's pretty important.
- 36:49Staci: Kind of have to have, but you know, that's the best, I think, is is for my opinion.
- 36:59Keri Croft: You get to watch her kind of shine, and then also you get to see like it's improving the atmosphere based on what you do.
- 37:07Staci: Yeah, and and you get it, you know, especially for most houses, you get a rest restore it.
- 37:12Staci: And we buy houses and we will rent renovate them and put them back on the market like we did with the ravine, and we don't flip them.
- 37:17Staci: I mean, yeah, you can call them what you want, but we try we're you know, our first flip we did, she wanted to go over budget, always goes over budget, always drives me freaking bonkers.
- 37:27Staci: But we always set new selling price per square foot every time we sold a house, and we just did.
- 37:32Staci: I don't know anybody that sold something that high out there, and and we never tried to, but the money that went in above the budget got the payback, and then some potential probably normally all the time, you know.
- 37:47Staci: So it's uh it's what's worked out, you know, it's trusting your partner who happened you'd be married to, their creative vision and what they want and what they think they what it what it needs, right?
- 38:02Staci: So some things get asked, but we try to do it in the best, you know, to preserve the house, to give the house it the respect it deserves, and then to make it updated and modern for the modern family.
- 38:15Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 38:15Keri Croft: Ooh, ooh.
- 38:16Keri Croft: Advice for um people out there who are thinking about going into business with their spouse or have already done that and they just need to hear something.
- 38:26Staci: Don't do it.
- 38:29Keri Croft: Proceed.
- 38:30Staci: You better fucking love them.
- 38:31Staci: Proceed about what you do.
- 38:33Staci: Yeah.
- 38:34Staci: It's really difficult.
- 38:35Traci: It is.
- 38:35Traci: There is no turn-off switch.
- 38:37Traci: You are it's constant.
- 38:39Traci: You can't come home and bitch about your business partner because they're standing in front of you.
- 38:45Traci: Um, so it it's hard.
- 38:47Traci: But I think, you know, for us, we also bring the opposite to the table, right?
- 38:53Traci: I couldn't be in business without him or it wouldn't be as much fun.
- 38:57Traci: Um, you know.
- 38:59Traci: So I think we respect each other so much.
- 39:03Traci: And so I think it works, that balance is what makes it work.
- 39:08Traci: But it's hard.
- 39:09Traci: It it it it it it will bring you to your knees some days where you're just like, I can't take it anymore.
- 39:17Traci: Yeah.
- 39:18Traci: But you know what?
- 39:19Staci: At the end of the day, if it's what you both love and you respect and love each other, somehow somehow we're both very passionate and we're both very uh opinionated and we both think we know what's right.
- 39:34Staci: So obviously that doesn't always sync up.
- 39:38Staci: Yeah but you know, and that's it's okay.
- 39:41Staci: You strike me as a very strong-willed man.
- 39:44Staci: I have my opinions.
- 39:47Staci: Yeah.
- 39:48Staci: It'd be hard to move you.
- 39:51Staci: Well, if you're presenting a good case, that helps.
- 39:56Staci: You know, you can't sell something to somebody unless you get, you know, I tell people that that's worked for you.
- 40:01Staci: So like, don't come to me with a fucking problem.
- 40:03Staci: Come to me with a solution.
- 40:04Staci: If you can't meet a solution to the problem, then don't come to me.
- 40:09Keri Croft: What's your greatest growth edge or weakness in your personality that you think?
- 40:14Staci: Patience.
- 40:15Keri Croft: What's yours?
- 40:16Keri Croft: The worst?
- 40:17Keri Croft: Yeah, like what's your growth edge or like something that you feel like is your Achilles heel?
- 40:23Traci: Um probably say no.
- 40:27Traci: I I think I am a pleaser.
- 40:28Traci: So every single thing I I you know that's why I figured you would back down before him just to like I do, I do sometimes, but I think I am so opinionated with him and it's a safe space.
- 40:42Traci: Yeah.
- 40:43Traci: So I'll push it.
- 40:44Traci: I'll put the fuel on the fire sometimes.
- 40:47Keri Croft: What's your uh like probably most um quality that you're not maybe most proud of, or like that's your strength, your your big strength?
- 40:56Keri Croft: My big strength.
- 40:57Keri Croft: And your personality that you think.
- 41:00Traci: Oh, I don't know, Crofty.
- 41:02Traci: I know.
- 41:03Traci: But what is it?
- 41:04Keri Croft: His work ethic.
- 41:05Keri Croft: Yeah, I would think, yeah.
- 41:07Staci: What's what's hers?
- 41:07Staci: I mean, she's an energizer bunny.
- 41:10Staci: I mean, she's you know, she never stops, she doesn't stop.
- 41:15Staci: And it's uh from the time she gets up till she goes to bed, literally.
- 41:19Staci: I mean, literally, it's a problem.
- 41:22Staci: She can't sit for a minute, and neither one of us are good relaxers.
- 41:25Staci: Unless we blow dart each other.
- 41:28Staci: Yeah, so I have to do that sometimes.
- 41:32Traci: Well, we have to.
- 41:34Staci: But we're both very, you know, we we say we don't care what people think, but we we are pleasers and we do a house for people or for sale for anyone, you know.
- 41:44Staci: We want to make people happy and we want, you know, sounds tough that we don't care and we don't, you know, and most days we don't, but at the end of the day, you know, we want, we want, we want to please people that we work with and work for.
- 41:58Keri Croft: So yeah, I think those are two different things.
- 42:00Keri Croft: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:00Keri Croft: You know, I mean, I I I think the way you walk through the world has this very strong, confident presence where it's like, I don't care.
- 42:07Keri Croft: Now, when you have clients and when you're you guys very much care.
- 42:10Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 42:10Keri Croft: I mean, on a level that like was very noticeable to me as a client.
- 42:15Traci: Well, good.
- 42:16Keri Croft: Oh, I loved it.
- 42:17Keri Croft: I mean, obviously.
- 42:18Keri Croft: I mean, even hopefully you'll let you'll come back.
- 42:20Keri Croft: You won't be, you'll still take me as a client.
- 42:22Keri Croft: Of course.
- 42:23Keri Croft: So you said she never stops moving and it's a problem.
- 42:26Keri Croft: So could you like go to a spa for four hours and just sit and be lazy and get your feet rubbed?
- 42:34Keri Croft: Would that be fun for you?
- 42:36Keri Croft: Yeah, I would love that.
- 42:37Keri Croft: Okay.
- 42:37Traci: But I put myself last always.
- 42:41Traci: And that's an issue for me.
- 42:43Traci: But but you know, I'm trying to be better about it.
- 42:48Traci: I'm trying to take some time.
- 42:49Traci: I'm trying to say, you know, I pick up my kids, and but it's still for my kids, right?
- 42:56Traci: But yeah, so I don't really ever just carve out time for myself to be selfish.
- 43:02Traci: You've been doing it some more.
- 43:03Traci: I've been trying a little bit harder.
- 43:04Keri Croft: So yeah, what is your, I guess, do you have like a measured thing that you're like, you know what?
- 43:10Keri Croft: I think once a week, yeah, I deserve an hour.
- 43:14Keri Croft: If I want to go stare at the wall, like what what does that look like for you?
- 43:18Traci: I do.
- 43:18Traci: I have now like I'll take half a Friday off now and do whatever the hell I want to do.
- 43:24Keri Croft: Um what was the la what did you do the last time you did that?
- 43:28Traci: I went to lunch with my one of my best friends and hung out, went shopping, did nothing.
- 43:34Traci: You know, like I actually want to just sit at my house and just sit on my back porch and do nothing.
- 43:42Traci: I actually always go and always move and always, you know, I'm always going.
- 43:47Traci: So just to sit and chill is probably the most amazing, or have the house to myself for a couple of hours.
- 43:53Traci: Silence.
- 43:54Traci: Silence.
- 43:55Traci: Quiet.
- 43:56Traci: That's the that is what I yearn for.
- 43:58Traci: Yeah.
- 43:59Traci: Spa's nice, but it's really the quiet times.
- 44:02Keri Croft: You know what would be amazing is bringing a um massage therapist out there.
- 44:06Keri Croft: Oh, that is good.
- 44:07Keri Croft: Let's do that.
- 44:07Keri Croft: I'll I'll I'll be happy.
- 44:09Keri Croft: We can do like a little couples thing.
- 44:11Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 44:11Keri Croft: We had one, but that would be amazing.
- 44:14Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 44:14Keri Croft: And I think women need to hear that too.
- 44:17Keri Croft: It's like, it's okay.
- 44:19Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 44:19Keri Croft: It's okay for you to take time for yourself.
- 44:22Keri Croft: It's okay for you to be a whole ass human being.
- 44:24Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 44:25Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 44:25Keri Croft: Um, when going circling back around to this in real life event, you know, we put the live content studio up here, which was a smashing success.
- 44:33Keri Croft: I spent the first two days of this week like sitting and listening to every single second of every word that everybody said.
- 44:38Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 44:38Keri Croft: And there was one girl, and she was talking about that about the question was about being a mom.
- 44:44Keri Croft: And she's like, you know, I want them to know that I am also these other things and that I'm I am their mom, but I'm also Emma.
- 44:53Traci: Yeah.
- 44:53Keri Croft: And the way that she said it was just so, she just articulated it so well.
- 44:57Keri Croft: I think that that's lost so much on us, where it's like you're you become a mom and like you're expected.
- 45:02Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 45:04Keri Croft: Which is amazing.
- 45:05Keri Croft: It's there's nothing like it.
- 45:07Keri Croft: But there can be and, and, and, yeah, and the dad doesn't have that same sort of mental, like they're selfish.
- 45:17Traci: They're more selfish.
- 45:18Traci: They absolutely are more selfish.
- 45:19Traci: Selfish.
- 45:21Traci: Yeah.
- 45:21Traci: We can be.
- 45:23Staci: I don't like it either, you know.
- 45:26Keri Croft: What is it?
- 45:26Keri Croft: You're just so simple.
- 45:27Keri Croft: You guys are so simple.
- 45:29Keri Croft: Like what your needs and wants are so just very simple.
- 45:34Staci: I just think it's how you were raised.
- 45:37Staci: Yeah.
- 45:38Staci: I mean, well, uh, we're all a product of that, but that's how it's always been.
- 45:43Staci: And I'm not saying that's how it always should be for certain, because things evolve and people and you know, but if the the woman is like, why do we not have a woman president?
- 45:53Staci: Why do we not have a woman, a group of women in power?
- 45:56Staci: I mean, look at what we've got now.
- 45:58Staci: It's a fucking shit show.
- 46:00Staci: It just makes no sense to me.
- 46:06Keri Croft: I have an idea.
- 46:06Keri Croft: Yeah, it just came to me.
- 46:08Keri Croft: Brene Brown.
- 46:10Keri Croft: She should be our next president.
- 46:11Keri Croft: 100%.
- 46:12Keri Croft: We should we should definitely have a woman.
- 46:14Keri Croft: We should be like, make that go viral and be on the campaign trail for her.
- 46:19Staci: I need to get uh Crofty, get it on it.
- 46:21Staci: Because she has contacts with all these CEOs and she works with all those big companies.
- 46:26Keri Croft: We we need to get creative and think out of the box.
- 46:28Keri Croft: I mean, for a for such an important role, you know, and I I say it tongue in cheek about Brene Brown, like, but um there's gotta be someone who hits all the dials, right?
- 46:42Keri Croft: So you need someone who's politically astute and understands the inner workings, but I do think you also need someone who understands the business side of the world.
- 46:51Keri Croft: But you the empathy, the compassion, the the sort of Mother Teresa, the reason why we're all here, the altruism layer, all of those three things, I know that's a you know uh a big ask, but I don't think it's impossible in one human being.
- 47:08Staci: Leadership should be empathetic.
- 47:10Staci: Leadership should be talking to people, leadership should be providing being a leadership, providing that leadership role.
- 47:18Staci: Yeah.
- 47:18Staci: And how they act, how parents act, or how their kids act.
- 47:23Staci: Normally, and same thing with our leaders.
- 47:27Staci: And it's, you know, you gotta provide people need guidance.
- 47:31Staci: We all need a little bit of guidance at some point in our life and some point in our day.
- 47:35Staci: So it'd be nice to have some strong people that were, you know, empathetic and and caring.
- 47:41Staci: You know, you can hire a good business guy, that's easy.
- 47:45Staci: No, they you need to hit but the other parts that the vulnerable parts that that nobody likes to talk about makes everybody uncomfortable, is what needs to be discussed in kindergarten and in first grade and in second grade in every 12 grades.
- 48:01Keri Croft: Yeah.
- 48:01Staci: Until it's beaten into our children's heads.
- 48:04Keri Croft: No, I agree.
- 48:05Staci: Not really beaten, but you know what I mean.
- 48:08Keri Croft: Drilled.
- 48:09Keri Croft: Oh my God.
- 48:12Keri Croft: I think the common theme here is that women run the world.
- 48:14Keri Croft: We do.
- 48:15Keri Croft: Or should run the world.
- 48:16Staci: They should be.
- 48:17Keri Croft: You know, I love you too.
- 48:18Keri Croft: We love you.
- 48:19Keri Croft: We are a microcraft.
- 48:19Keri Croft: I mean, love to the ends of the earth, love.
- 48:22Keri Croft: Thank you for coming on my show.
- 48:24Keri Croft: Thank you for having me.
- 48:25Keri Croft: And as if people don't love you already, I think they're gonna this getting this view into you guys, I think is gonna be just an absolute treat for people.
- 48:33Keri Croft: Or as Tracy likes to say, surprise and delight.
- 48:36Keri Croft: Just a little.
- 48:36Keri Croft: Every corner.
- 48:37Keri Croft: Full tilt, full blown.
- 48:39Keri Croft: And if you're still out there following your girl, follow me on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, or wherever you get your podcast.
- 48:46Keri Croft: And until next time, keep moving, baby.
