- 0:02you by Aura. Let's be honest, breaking in new
- 0:05skates is kind of the worst, right?
- 0:07Blisters, sore ankles, the whole deal.
- 0:09Aura is here to make that way easier.
- 0:12Their skates are built with a one piece carbon fiber shell
- 0:16that you can heat mold to your foot so they fit you and not the
- 0:19other way around. And Aura skates have an
- 0:22integrated collar system, which basically means your boot bends
- 0:27with you while giving you the support that you need.
- 0:30Translation. More skating, less complaining.

- 0:42Welcome to the Rocker Skating Podcast.
- 0:45It's the second day of our two day preview show for the 2026
- 0:50World Figure Skating Championships.
- 0:52Michelle and I have a lot to say about the men and the ice dance
- 0:57events. So here it is.
- 1:00How much menning are we going to get?
- 1:02I think a supreme amount of men. This will be amending for the
- 1:08ages. I'm still recovering from, I
- 1:12mean, frankly, the men and the ice dance from the Olympics I'm
- 1:15still recovering from. We had another.
- 1:18Drama of those couple of days. We did another Friday, the 13th
- 1:21a couple weeks ago. I was triggered.
- 1:22I'm like again. I hope Italy is not on the ice,
- 1:25wherever he is. Everybody was everybody was
- 1:29commemorating the one month anniversary of.
- 1:34The the day that we live in infamy.
- 1:36My goodness. Yeah.
- 1:37Or in fame in Kazakhstan. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:41I know that's going to be in their text, their history
- 1:43textbooks celebrated. Yeah.
- 1:46The coronation of King Shidorov. Speaking of which, King Shidorov
- 1:51is not here. He wasn't even on the original
- 1:55entries list because he was too busy accepting new cars and
- 2:00kissing babies and opening restaurants.
- 2:03And I don't know what he's been doing, but he's certainly been
- 2:06the toast of Astana and all of Kazakhstan.
- 2:11There is at at the Summer Olympics in 2024, there was a
- 2:16Filipino gymnast, Carlos Carlos Yulo that won.
- 2:19He first won gold medal I believe on vault, I think was
- 2:24first and it went crazy in the Philippines.
- 2:27Every business there was giving him free stuff, money.
- 2:29We had a whole running list of it and then he won another gold
- 2:32medal and they got even more stuff.
- 2:34And I feel like Shidorov is living that experience.
- 2:37Like when you went from a small country, you you become the
- 2:40beneficiary of all they have to offer.
- 2:42Right. I mean, Carlos Ulow is a is a
- 2:45legend. He's a little brother who just
- 2:48debuted. He's another one, yeah.
- 2:51Yeah, I was joking. And also also good on vault and
- 2:53floor. Yeah, funny how that is, that
- 2:56the businesses in the Philippines are going to run out
- 2:58of free stuff to give the Ulow brothers.
- 3:01Yeah. That's our that's our crossover
- 3:04pop for you, Scott, Scott Bregman on here at some point.
- 3:09So we have Shyderuff not here, Matteo Rizzo not here.
- 3:14Chen Wan Cha just very recently said no.
- 3:20And then even more recently, Jason Brown was out and and we
- 3:26knew behind the scenes that there was he was, he was
- 3:29certainly deciding like this was not one of those where it was
- 3:33like, oh, he had decided a long time ago and and waited till the
- 3:37last moment to say, no, he has been.
- 3:40Yeah, we heard as of last week he hadn't even made-up a
- 3:43decision. Made a decision so.
- 3:44Right. He's been training, he's been,
- 3:46he's still been skating in shows, he's still been keeping,
- 3:49you know, conditioning up And so ultimately decided to not go.
- 3:54And Jacob Sanchez takes his spot because first alternate Max
- 4:00Naumov said no. Second alternate Tomokohi
- 4:05Watashi retired. Third alternate Jacob Sanchez,
- 4:09who just came off a fourth place finish at the Junior World
- 4:14Championships, is now going to make his Senior World
- 4:17Championships debut. Imagine getting that phone call.
- 4:23Jacob, don't. Don't, Jacob, don't kill me if I
- 4:26am spilling secrets. But he's told.
- 4:28He told me he was snowboarding when he got the call.
- 4:32He's young, he can, he'll be fine.
- 4:34That's just he's big, he's training, I mean.
- 4:37He's been training. Yeah, yeah, they, they have been
- 4:41they have continued to be training like, you know, it, it,
- 4:44it just another couple of weeks, right.
- 4:47Junior World was 2 1/2 weeks ago.
- 4:49The real. The real question is did he,
- 4:51once he got the call, snowboard down the mountain then?
- 4:53Or did he get on the lift and responsibly right into the
- 4:55bottom and then get off and go home?
- 4:59Jacob's like my ACL is going to stay so, so that that is that is
- 5:08the the men's withdrawals. And also Matteo Rizzo withdrew
- 5:15and noticed that it was not Nikolai Memola who got the call.
- 5:19He probably is still recovering from the the injuries and also
- 5:25very busy, I think with Fashion Week and TikTok and TikTok and
- 5:32and so Gabriella Fonzipani is going to be did you see there
- 5:36for the Italians. Someone made a take talk about
- 5:38Nikolai Memola's Inside Edge. Let's take off.
- 5:41And they were like, he needs to fix this.
- 5:43Here it is. And he commented on it.
- 5:45And he said, girl, I know. Of course he did.
- 5:51Of course he did. Nikolai Memola knows everything
- 5:54in the social media space. Fun.
- 5:56Yeah, yeah, exactly. All right.
- 5:59So what's going to happen? Will it be the redemption of
- 6:06Ilya Malinen? That is, that is a big one,
- 6:09right? Last time we saw him, it was a
- 6:14well, last time we saw him, it was at the exhibition gala.
- 6:17But the last time we saw him compete, it was a one of those
- 6:24programs you'll never want to watch again because it was just
- 6:27so it was so heartbreaking and. Completely out of character.
- 6:32Completely out of character. I think he'll be fine.
- 6:35He's done many worlds. I think he'll just skate fine.
- 6:39I don't, I don't expect any drama.
- 6:41I'm I'm really worried about the difference Olympics.
- 6:44Though, Oh my goodness, it is a very different kind of pressure
- 6:48here. And you know you're not going to
- 6:50have all the cameras and all the stuff following you everywhere
- 6:54you go and. Snoop Dogg will not be here as
- 6:56far. As there's no student oh, thank
- 6:57no Martha, no Snoop Dogg, yeah, yeah, none of that going on.
- 7:02So it'll be. Jackie Wong.
- 7:06And Ilia just walks past me. Anyways, that's fine.
- 7:11So Ilia. And then will it be the
- 7:13redemption of Yuma Kakiyama I? Just didn't see that free skate
- 7:17clean once. Just give it to us clean.
- 7:21As much as Yuma got his fourth silver medal, it was not a good
- 7:27skate for him. No.
- 7:30It just so happened that he rotated everything and didn't
- 7:34have a complete disaster. But you know, I'm sure he he
- 7:40wants to go back in time and fix that up, but he's got a chance
- 7:45to become a world champion. So I.
- 7:46Think his this is one of his best chances so.
- 7:50Exactly. I do.
- 7:53I do hope that we can see a Turando that is clean because
- 8:03that program is so, so good. Shun Sato after his bronze medal
- 8:12at the Olympics, how does he do? I mean, you got to then kind of
- 8:16look at these other guys who were in the mix at the Olympics,
- 8:20right? Steven Gogolev was literal like.
- 8:25A spin level A. Spin away.
- 8:26Yeah, a spin level away from from the from the podium.
- 8:31He is so consistent. I mean, we watched him practice
- 8:34so many times because he got there early for the team event.
- 8:36He doesn't even make mistakes in practice.
- 8:38He warms up the same way. He gets his jumps out, he does
- 8:41his run throughs, he doesn't step out of anything.
- 8:43He's just so, so solid and I reliable, which I feel like we
- 8:49haven't been able to say about a Canadian men skater in a while.
- 8:52So I, it's really impressive. And I, I'm, I'm putting him on
- 8:56the podium. I think he's going to do it.
- 8:59I'm, I'm putting him up there. Yeah.
- 9:01Because they have to do 2 programs, you know, and he's the
- 9:04only one that I really believe is not going to mend.
- 9:07They do. And I'm not even jinxing them so
- 9:09when I say that. I know like we're not jinxing
- 9:12anything anymore at this point because they jinx themselves.
- 9:16Like, you know. Speaking of redemptions, does
- 9:19Adam Salhemfah have a redemption?
- 9:21Does Danielle Grasso have a redemption?
- 9:23Does Kevin Amos have a redemption like all these guys
- 9:26who who had moments of brilliance at the Olympics and
- 9:31then just couldn't get it all together?
- 9:34I. Would say that Kevin Amos
- 9:35doesn't need a redemption. He had some issues but he fought
- 9:38pretty hard. I think the redemption would be
- 9:41from for Europeans, but I think he got that at the Olympics.
- 9:44He got that at the Olympics. Yeah, he got.
- 9:46That at the Olympics. I'm really interested to see how
- 9:50Andrew Torgeshev skates. He skated some of his best
- 9:53performances his last two competitions so.
- 9:58Like at the Olympics, I've never seen him train better.
- 10:01And, and, and I think the question is, has he been able to
- 10:06maintain that's that level of intensity and consistency that
- 10:11he had at the Olympics? And, you know, has there been
- 10:16sort of a, a let down from the Olympics and has he been able to
- 10:21to to bring it back up? That's, you know, we'll see it
- 10:24first day whether his quattos are popping or they're popping.
- 10:30And he was also going to go on that pizza sampling tour of
- 10:34Milan after his event ended. So I know I got to ask him about
- 10:37that. He's recovered from that.
- 10:39Yeah. Oh, the pizza in Milan.
- 10:42What am I going to eat in Prague?
- 10:44I eat, eat lots of something. I need to figure it out, you
- 10:52know, like, there, there, there. There are other skaters there,
- 10:55too. I mean, Nikkei Ikatsu, same
- 10:57thing, right? Like Rushdenko.
- 11:00Rushdenko, European bronze medalists.
- 11:04What does he do here? Speaking of many, Yeah.
- 11:07I mean, you know, like you do have to realize, yeah, you do
- 11:11have to take take a look back at those scores at Europeans and
- 11:15that it was like a 230 something that got him the bronze.
- 11:19Yeah. That's not going to get him top
- 11:2210 here, I don't think you know, Although, again, who knows.
- 11:27I want redemption for Vladimir Ludvan stuff.
- 11:31I want him to skate well here. I want to see him make the free
- 11:34skate, smoke that cigarette at the start of his program, have a
- 11:37great skate and enjoy himself. That was like one of the most
- 11:41heartbreaking parts of Milan was him having that short program
- 11:44implosion and missing the free skate.
- 11:47I was I feel we were all robbed of the performance that we
- 11:51deserve to see. Yeah, yeah, that would have
- 11:54been, I mean, that would have been a lot.
- 11:56That would have been very nice. Let's hope he doesn't do a
- 12:01triple flip 5 seconds later, single toe again.
- 12:06That is still one of the iconic combinations of the Olympic
- 12:12Games. But it's crazy because it was so
- 12:15iconic in that moment and then it became relevant in the
- 12:18women's event because if Kyrie had done that, she would have
- 12:21won. She could have held.
- 12:23That edge for 10 seconds and done the single toe and she
- 12:26would have won. Yeah, I don't.
- 12:29I, I, I, I don't care about the song anymore.
- 12:32It's like that. That single toe needed to be
- 12:34there. Can we also just do a segue back
- 12:39to the women? Oh yeah.
- 12:40And that Calorie Sakamoto did a a domestic competition about a
- 12:49week ago. She's not ready.
- 12:51She's not ready to say goodbye. No, she's not ready to scape the
- 12:54guy. But they did not change the
- 12:57combination. The the the the double toe is
- 13:00still on the triple Lutz and she fell on the triple flip, so she
- 13:07had another Rep call. Oh.
- 13:08My God. They like.
- 13:12All right. Change the combination.
- 13:14With that double toe on that first flip, this is crazy.
- 13:17All right, you need to do some investigative journalism as soon
- 13:20as you hit the ground in Prague and ask what is going on with
- 13:22that? What's going on?
- 13:24Oh, she does the solo let's in the short program.
- 13:27What's wrong with the solo let's in the free skate?
- 13:29It's the only one she's doing. Miss Nakano, please.
- 13:32Oh my God, we can't take this. I know.
- 13:38Yeah. So back to the men.
- 13:41I'm too. Traumatized to continue
- 13:46triggered. I know same litvince of
- 13:50redemption we get another minions from Tommy Querino.
- 13:55Let's. Go.
- 13:57And you know, like things could lots of things can happen again,
- 14:04like with the other competitions, it's it's a, it
- 14:08can be a wide open field. And if if the menning does
- 14:13occur, and it most certainly probably will occur, there could
- 14:22be some wild, wild standings at the end of this whole thing.
- 14:30We have France, Japan and the US coming in with three spots.
- 14:37I don't know that that's going to, that's going to hold up for,
- 14:40for for France, but I hope it does.
- 14:43I don't know if it holds up for the US either.
- 14:45I, I, I, I think it really, it depends on what 1 you know, Ilya
- 14:49has to be up there Two, Torgashev has to be as good as
- 14:55he was at the Olympics or Jacob Sanchez does 2 clean programs
- 15:00and and they don't hose his components like there's there,
- 15:05they, they can keep the, the three spots.
- 15:07Yeah, but it's not, it's not easy.
- 15:09Yeah, I weirdly have a lot of faith in Jacob.
- 15:12I don't know why. I think he's going to skate
- 15:14well. I would like to have a lot of
- 15:17faith in Jacob. I feel like he's burned me
- 15:21before so. Is this like who's World Team
- 15:25without Jason Brown in a whole quad?
- 15:29Jason Brown, been a while. Yeah.
- 15:33He's been at the he's been at the last three worlds.
- 15:37Yeah. Oh, 2022 he didn't go.
- 15:43Yeah. Right.
- 15:45But he's, he's, he was at 232425.
- 15:50So he was, yeah. You know that Jason has never in
- 15:53his career finished lower than 9th at Worlds.
- 15:56That's that's what I keep saying, like as much as as much
- 16:00as we've people talk about how he hasn't battled at worlds,
- 16:04yeah, he's been very reliably in the top five to top 8.
- 16:11He's like, he's like an index fund.
- 16:13He is just. You can count on him.
- 16:16Very, Yep, Yep. Yeah.
- 16:18You're not going to go big, but you're you're going to, you're
- 16:20going to be very steadily earning your money, that is for
- 16:23sure. Yeah.
- 16:26The men, wow, I don't know what's going to happen.
- 16:31Gogolev. Gogolev's going to happen.
- 16:35Gogo, Medal Gogo. Medal.
- 16:37And that'll be the first Canadian men's medal since Do
- 16:43you have to be Patrick? Am I making that up?
- 16:47Yeah, who else would? Who else would have been besides
- 16:50Patrick? Well, I know Keegan didn't.
- 16:52He didn't win 1 Patrick, the last World medal for a Canadian
- 16:57man. 15. No earlier. 14. 1313 Patrick won
- 17:02his last fourteen of three titles.
- 17:04Wow. All right, so we're down to ice
- 17:11stand. OK, Speaking of the last time
- 17:14worlds were in Prague, this was the first.
- 17:18Was that was that? Go, go, go Julen.
- 17:23They won their first and only world title, the forever just on
- 17:28the bubble team that could never breakthrough.
- 17:30They could never be claim of on Pan Mariko.
- 17:32And then the Duchenne started, you know, passing them and it
- 17:35was like they just could not get there.
- 17:37And finally in 93, they have this incredible Blues for clue
- 17:40program and they won their first and only world title and Russia
- 17:44swept the world podium. They won all three medals in
- 17:46dance. It was Usava Julin, Grisha
- 17:50Platov, Krylova Fedorov. But I, you know what?
- 17:54This dance event, I think something similar is going to
- 17:57happen in terms of a long, long Time Team that has always been
- 18:01on the bubble finally getting their flowers.
- 18:04And I'm, I think Piper are going to win this world.
- 18:07I totally agree. It's going to happen.
- 18:10Look, I could be just making up in my head, but there's
- 18:15something about the momentum that they got at the Olympics
- 18:20and the fact that as and shock Evan baits are not here where
- 18:27the judges brains have now been freed up in some ways to think
- 18:32about a different team out there.
- 18:36And yeah, I, I, I totally would agree with you about the
- 18:43potential for Piper and Ball to win this thing.
- 18:47And you know, the, the continued potential, frankly, of 48,
- 18:54Beaudry and Cicero making a major error because that we've
- 18:58seen that this season. We saw that at, we saw that in
- 19:05practices at the Olympics. They push so hard and I, I
- 19:12wonder about like, because I, I talked about in our Olympic
- 19:17recap about how they push so hard in practice and then hold
- 19:20back a lot in competition. And I wonder when they are
- 19:23pushing harder in competition, if that's when the mistakes
- 19:25happen. I don't know.
- 19:28I, I don't know. I just, I just, I have a feeling
- 19:31that it's going to be Piper and Paul.
- 19:33I just the momentum is there. And A and a post Olympic world
- 19:37for for ice dance has not been without its surprises either.
- 19:43Remember the day when Anna Kaplina and Luca Lenote won
- 19:48World? In. 2014.
- 19:51By a whisker. All the medals were within like
- 19:53a few like 33 hundreds or 3/10 of a point or something.
- 19:57They were so close. Yeah.
- 20:01Yeah, the there have been a couple Olympic champions who
- 20:05have defended their world title or who won worlds right after.
- 20:08Virgin Warrior did it in 2010, Papadakis and Cesarone did it in
- 20:112022. But it's not a guarantee by any
- 20:15means. No, I, the thing that I think of
- 20:20with with Piper and Paul for me is that they, their Olympics
- 20:27free dance was so utterly transformative for them that
- 20:36they might come in with a very different kind of just like
- 20:40mindset of what this competition is for them.
- 20:43And they were even saying this on the interview when I was
- 20:48talking to them was that they felt a difference in the way
- 20:52that they did that program at the Olympics.
- 20:54Then they had done it before. And you wonder if if that kind
- 21:02of magic is going to happen again.
- 21:04I go back to this is obviously pairs, but I go back to
- 21:08Sapchenko and Maso in 2018 after the Olympics where we were like
- 21:13they can possibly do that program any better than they did
- 21:16at the Olympics and if they did it better at worlds.
- 21:19Yeah, OK, I have chills. So Chenko Maso.
- 21:23Yeah, my free skate was so good. It was so good.
- 21:26Psychological breakthrough and they can skate with that kind of
- 21:29freedom. Right.
- 21:32And you know, like their programs really came together at
- 21:35the Olympics. RuPaul came together at the
- 21:38Olympics. Finally, Vincent came together
- 21:42at the Olympics. So again, you wonder.
- 21:48So you'd think those two for gold.
- 21:52You'd think Theor and Gibson versus Zynga's kalesnik for
- 21:59bronze, which are words that I did not think I would say at the
- 22:03beginning of the season. It's interesting because Fear
- 22:08Gibson for so long had so much momentum, momentum, momentum,
- 22:11momentum, and in their last two competitions I feel like it
- 22:14really screeched to a halt. And Zynga's, on the other hand,
- 22:18is just like shooting for the stars.
- 22:20Speaking of momentum. Yeah, so I'm, I'm interested to
- 22:23see how Fear Gibson compete here.
- 22:25I know that they were a team that it was, they really had
- 22:28this very strong mental game and their attack was really what
- 22:31powered them forward. And I think once the doubt
- 22:34started creeping in there, especially with Lila's twizzle
- 22:36issues, if I think that really kind of unseeded them the last
- 22:42two competitions, especially at the Olympics.
- 22:44So I I'm interested to see how they skate here.
- 22:47And I feel like we know how Zynga, Zynga Leznik are going to
- 22:49skate. They're going to be skating out
- 22:51of their skin. They're going to be raising the
- 22:53roof. It's going to be, you know, all
- 22:56energy all the time. Yeah, I think, I think the two
- 23:00of them and I think Zingis, Kolesnik, Reed and Brulevichus
- 23:07and Smart and Deke, all three of those teams I think have the
- 23:14potential to be the spoiler for the bronze would think of
- 23:18Kolesnik being the higher potential of those 3.
- 23:24But still like I, I, you know, like you look at you look at
- 23:28them versus Allison Saul at the Grand Prix Final, right.
- 23:32At Grand Prix Finals, Allison, Saul were were were scored
- 23:36higher. I just wanna put Scott Deek a
- 23:40little parade of a Bristow in that conversation, too.
- 23:42Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I would agree with that.
- 23:47You know, it's like then you is, is there even a dark, dark, dark
- 23:55horse of a green Parsons coming in after not being at the
- 23:59Olympics and maybe bringing something a little bit different
- 24:04than what everybody's been seeing, right?
- 24:06Because they, we haven't seen them since 4 continents.
- 24:10They're the ones who are replacing chalk and Bates here
- 24:12And, and they, you know, they're, they're fresh.
- 24:14They, they haven't had to come down from the Olympics.
- 24:18They've they've, you know, in the interview that I had with
- 24:21them were saying how grateful of what they were to their season,
- 24:26getting another shot, getting a, you know, having another chance
- 24:30at at extending their season. So.
- 24:34I'm interested to see how tour Columbus Louis look because they
- 24:38really weren't, you know, they said that they were feeling 100%
- 24:41better, but I didn't feel like they looked at the Olympics like
- 24:44they were as comfortable as they were in the past, you know, with
- 24:47his injury and everything. And I'm wondering if a few more
- 24:50weeks of training if they look more like their old selves,
- 24:54because I feel like in this field they should be contenders.
- 24:58They I mean, they have fantastic material, especially that
- 25:01freelance. It's just like, it's so good.
- 25:04It's just that tango, like that's just, you know, so
- 25:07addictive and easy to reward and easy to like and very
- 25:11accessible. And, you know, their season
- 25:13scores are not great just because of his injury, but I
- 25:17think they could move up, Yeah. Yeah, they they did.
- 25:21They lost some of their power and and they're just sort of
- 25:27assertiveness, especially in that free dance.
- 25:30Yeah, I remember last season when we were seeing when we were
- 25:33watching that free dance, it was like it just, it just sent
- 25:36chills down your spine because they were just like so well done
- 25:40most of the time. Especially that straight line
- 25:42left at the end. So good.
- 25:44Yeah, yeah. It'll be interesting.
- 25:47I mean, Carrera Panamarenko also here, you know, Hannah Lim and
- 25:53Yaquan, do they get a little bit of a redemption they have?
- 25:57To I hope they make the free dance and get to do their free
- 25:59dance here. I have like one thing to say
- 26:01about Christina Carrera and Anthony Panmarenko, just not
- 26:04related to this competition. But you know, talking back to
- 26:08the pointing back to the March gladness that we talked about at
- 26:12the beginning of the episode to everyone who didn't vote for
- 26:15them. I you're on my list.
- 26:18I'm really judging you. I think Christina's dress that
- 26:22she debuted at the Olympics is like the probably the best
- 26:24costume of the season that anyone's had.
- 26:26That dress is stunning. And so, you know, so effective
- 26:31with the theme of their program. And, you know, I took it kind of
- 26:34personally that that she didn't get votes and that they lost
- 26:37their category that that, you know, that was upsetting to me.
- 26:41I'm very excited to see it again.
- 26:44Michelle is very upset. She was telling me how upset she
- 26:46was about it. Yeah, yeah, she was up again.
- 26:49They were up against the Amber Glenn like a prayer costume
- 26:53though. I, you know what?
- 26:54I voted for Amber in the ISU costume award.
- 26:57I didn't feel bad not voting for her here.
- 26:59This was this was Christina's. This was Christina's award.
- 27:02She should have won. So just saying.
- 27:06I, I, I have very much enjoyed the, the great deal of thoughts
- 27:13and opinions that everybody's been having on March gladness,
- 27:15which they were unable to maybe have with the ISU costume awards
- 27:21because they, you know, it was it, it, it, it felt, it felt, it
- 27:25feels so terminal, right? Like it's like you have one
- 27:28chance to just vote for your one costume and now you have like
- 27:32whatever it is, 15 chances to vote for your costume.
- 27:35So anyway, back to dance. The, the, the podium will be
- 27:41very interesting. I do think like at with every
- 27:45other one of these competitions, the potential for there being
- 27:49some kind of surprise on the podium is high.
- 27:52The question is what is the surprise and will there be more
- 27:57than one? So it could be what the ice
- 28:02dancer is, right? You don't have chalk and Bates
- 28:06and that's basically or you don't have chalk and Bates and
- 28:08you don't have king yard fabric, but that's basically it.
- 28:12Everybody else is here for the most part.
- 28:18And so it'll be interesting to see because the, the Olympics
- 28:23was very close across a lot of these teams.
- 28:29And, you know, it was an exclamation point for Spartan
- 28:34Deke's choreograph character step.
- 28:37Or it was, it was a level here and there for these people.
- 28:42Or it was a, you know, a, a miss on a, a, a, a bracket turn that
- 28:49left somebody with two levels fewer.
- 28:51Or, you know, it was like. Something the choreo step calls
- 28:54at this event. Just please, we've given out
- 28:56enough. We met, we met the quota.
- 28:58Just don't do what this this event.
- 29:00Leave them alone. It's like parking tickets.
- 29:02Yes, when you're legally parked. Yeah, somebody decided that you
- 29:09were, you know, 4 feet, 8 inches from the fire hydrant or
- 29:19whatever it is. I don't even know what the rules
- 29:21are for parking near fire hydrants because I don't have a
- 29:23car. But you know, it was like one of
- 29:26those things where it's you're like, it's just so close and you
- 29:30that the nickel and diming is quite upsetting.
- 29:34Should we do our top three for each of these?
- 29:37Disciplines. Oh boy.
- 29:41Yeah. OK, let's start with the dance.
- 29:43OK, Gilles Poirier first. Forney Baudreu Cesarone second.
- 29:49Zingis Kolesnik, 3rd. I have the exact same top three.
- 29:53Go OK. OK, I'll, I'll, I'll do the I'll
- 29:58do women on my part. OK, we'll switch off.
- 30:03Kari Sakamoto, Amber Glenn, Monet, Chiba.
- 30:10Monet Ami Nakai first. Kari Sakamoto, second.
- 30:18Amber Glenn, third. Wow.
- 30:22I adore Monet, but. This was, this was the, this was
- 30:25the, this was the switcheroo from the Olympics where I was
- 30:29like, Monet's not going to be in the top five.
- 30:32All right, Paris. Pavlovos, Viachenko, Hassa,
- 30:38Volodin, Michochina, Berlava. I've never heard the Hungarian
- 30:44anthem. I'm ready.
- 30:50Oh gosh, this one is I, I have the same top three.
- 30:53I I would put Hassevalden first. OK, so and then Pavlovos,
- 30:58Fiachenko and then Batalkina Perulva.
- 31:00OK. Yeah, makes sense.
- 31:02OK, men. Oh, this is so hard.
- 31:05I. Don't even know.
- 31:08I don't even know here. It's like it's, it's too.
- 31:15I'm just going to go for it. Yuma, Ilia.
- 31:18Adam. Wow, OK.
- 31:26That that's not even like I don't, I don't even know what
- 31:28that came from, but you know. I'm going to do Eli no Ilya
- 31:36Gogalev Yuma. Wow, there's already men in
- 31:44going on in our predictions. And I I shouldn't pick Ilia to
- 31:48win because he burned me before, but I feel like it's inevitable
- 31:50that he will win. So I just don't.
- 31:54I just don't know. I really just don't know.
- 31:59Well, there we go, I think. I think of all of the podium
- 32:06pics I've done all all season, this one is by far my most
- 32:09unhinged. It's going to be something
- 32:11insane in the men. It's probably going to be like
- 32:13Kalmira in second. Something like things are like,
- 32:17I think both of us are reacting to the fact that a post Olympic
- 32:21world is not typical. It's just not typical.
- 32:26Something's going to happen and we don't know what is going to
- 32:28happen and our minds are just like going off.
- 32:33It was the year. Was it 2010 when Daisuke and Mao
- 32:39won worlds after they both failed to win the Olympics?
- 32:43I feel like that was the year. Maybe it's 24.
- 32:47Yep, Mao won and 20. She won in 2010 and 2014.
- 32:52Yeah, it was Dice K in 2010. And Yuzu, well, Yuzu was the
- 32:55Olympic champion in 2014, but yeah, I was thinking in 2010.
- 32:58So they both missed gold in the Olympics and landed on the
- 33:02podium, and then they both won worlds.
- 33:05So maybe it will be Yuma and Calorie.
- 33:08Wow, wow. That's it for our last preview
- 33:14episode of this very long season.
- 33:18Crazy. And hey folks, thank you for
- 33:23joining us during this whole thing.
