- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone
- 0:23Speaker 1: Hallmark or Hallmark Review Podcast. I'm Megan and I'm a
- 0:26Speaker 1: longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater.
- 0:29Speaker 1: We are back with another mailback episode, Mailback Episode number three,
- 0:34Speaker 1: where we are sharing your emails, your voice notes, and
- 0:39Speaker 1: yor Collins about all things Hallmark and Girls Gone Hallmark.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Before we get to that, a quick reminder that we'd
- 0:45Speaker 1: love for you to follow us on Instagram. We are
- 0:47Speaker 1: Girls Gone Hallmark. Oh yeah, we have a Facebook Girls
- 0:53Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark Facebook groups and if you would like to
- 0:57Speaker 1: participate in a future or mailback episode, we love to
- 1:00Speaker 1: hear from you. You can email us Girls Gone Hallmark
- 1:02Speaker 1: at gmail dot com or you can call us nine
- 1:04Speaker 1: four nine three two nine eight zero nine zero. We
- 1:07Speaker 1: will leave that phone number in the show notes. And
- 1:11Speaker 1: I feel like we need to kick it off with
- 1:13Speaker 1: a voice note since we have we have some let's.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I'm excited. I haven't heard any of these yet. First
- 1:19Speaker 1: one comes from listener Wayne.
- 1:20Speaker 2: This is Wayne, longtime listener, first sign caller, and I
- 1:24Speaker 2: want to just tell you, for the first time ever,
- 1:27Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to something on the Hallmark. That is
- 1:31Speaker 2: not like a Christmas movie. You all, I blame you
- 1:34Speaker 2: for becoming a sign Field Delivered fan. And now I'm
- 1:37Speaker 2: stuck because I'm all caught up and I'm just waiting
- 1:41Speaker 2: and waiting and waiting for Saturday to come for this
- 1:45Speaker 2: to move to the moon and back movie for seeing
- 1:48Speaker 2: sign Field is Delivered. And on top of all that,
- 1:51Speaker 2: now I'm worried because I don't like the last one,
- 1:55Speaker 2: and what if I don't like this one? And so
- 1:58Speaker 2: now I have that last thing in my head. Well,
- 2:00Speaker 2: so I'm looking forward to the recap of this movie
- 2:04Speaker 2: after I've seen it and so forth. For the first time,
- 2:06Speaker 2: I'm joining everybody in the Facebook group. We're all gonna
- 2:09Speaker 2: watch this at the same time. It's gonna be a blast,
- 2:11Speaker 2: love them both. See you, You're amazing, And I'm gonna
- 2:15Speaker 2: hang up and listen to your response.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Super fan. Wayne coming through the review of that movie
- 2:21Speaker 1: did come out last week? Yeah, I was like, did
- 2:23Speaker 1: we already talk about it? I really can't even remember,
- 2:26Speaker 1: but well I'm trying to remember too, like if because
- 2:28Speaker 1: Wayne's very active in our Facebook group, I'm like, did
- 2:31Speaker 1: he even did he share his thoughts about the movie?
- 2:33Speaker 1: At all, did he like it? Did he not like it?
- 2:37Speaker 1: Remember he said Oliver was too brooty. That's right, like Batman.
- 2:42Speaker 1: That's all he said. He didn't say if he liked it.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I liked that movie. So spoiler alert if you haven't
- 2:47Speaker 1: listened to art review of To the Moon and Back,
- 2:51Speaker 1: we liked it. Yeah, go give it a listen. M hm.
- 2:54Speaker 1: We have two science Filed Delivered comments from YouTube. The
- 2:58Speaker 1: first one is from the Duchess, who said I loved
- 3:00Speaker 1: both The Tale of Three Letters and To the Moon
- 3:02Speaker 1: and Back. Life is messy no matter what your character,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and I have enjoyed the dilemma's face by the postables
- 3:08Speaker 1: over time. I thought oli Our's storyline to be more
- 3:11Speaker 1: than feasible. With his own fatherhood looming, I thought it
- 3:14Speaker 1: only natural that he would think about his biological father,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and having the letters handed over to him was a
- 3:20Speaker 1: great plot. I absolutely love this series and would love
- 3:23Speaker 1: to see more stories.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I didn't hate the storyline, No, we either at all.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I liked it a lot. Before I move on to
- 3:32Speaker 1: our next comment about Science fell Delivered, we have a
- 3:35Speaker 1: commentary post on our website, Girls Gone Hallmark dot com
- 3:39Speaker 1: right now about if this was the last movie, and
- 3:42Speaker 1: we have gotten so many comments on a blog post,
- 3:45Speaker 1: which does not happen these days anymore, Like nobody leaves comments,
- 3:48Speaker 1: yeah anymore. And I did not publish half of them
- 3:52Speaker 1: because half of them of the writers think weir Hallmark
- 3:56Speaker 1: and they're mad at us for not promoting the movie
- 4:00Speaker 1: and not and not saying if there's any more movies yes,
- 4:04Speaker 1: So like we're not wrong, outlet, this is not the
- 4:08Speaker 1: network you were looking for. Yeah, so anyway, our next
- 4:12Speaker 1: comment is from YouTube, and it's from Mama. I can't
- 4:15Speaker 1: read it. I should put my glasses on, Mama Labo.
- 4:18Speaker 1: It's Christine. Yeah, I know Christine, she's in our group.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Great review ladies, minor detail. Oh but they were filmed
- 4:25Speaker 1: using block shooting, so they filmed both movies simultaneously. That's interesting.
- 4:31Speaker 1: That's hard. We talked about that before, remember, how like
- 4:35Speaker 1: how do you go from like one scene to another
- 4:37Speaker 1: scene different movies, like different motivations. You know, they're like,
- 4:40Speaker 1: let's film all the DLL stuff now, all the ramone
- 4:43Speaker 1: stuff now, so difficult. She goes on to say, I
- 4:46Speaker 1: appreciate your comment about people adding to IMDb. Personally, I
- 4:50Speaker 1: find it frustrating to find out that anyone can add content.
- 4:54Speaker 1: It takes my trust level of what I've read on
- 4:57Speaker 1: IMDb down a few notches. I love that you call
- 5:01Speaker 1: them a cozy family and feel like the show is
- 5:03Speaker 1: a warm hug. I could see one more movie that
- 5:06Speaker 1: shows the grand opening of the Postable sorry, the Postal
- 5:10Speaker 1: Museum and the babies born. I agree. I think that
- 5:12Speaker 1: would be a great wrap up. One hundred percent agree.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Let's talk about the IMDb stuff, okay. So on our
- 5:20Speaker 1: review of Science Seal Delivered, we talked about IMDb, what's
- 5:27Speaker 1: the word displaying indicating showing that Duchess Sarah Ferguson was
- 5:34Speaker 1: in this movie? You and I talked were like, what
- 5:36Speaker 1: the heck she was not? We never saw is this
- 5:39Speaker 1: true content? Is it not true content? And that's where
- 5:42Speaker 1: we left it. Cut to this past weekend, we get
- 5:48Speaker 1: a message in our Facebook group from Christina. Christina writes,
- 5:53Speaker 1: apparently this is the group where I need to explain
- 5:55Speaker 1: what happened with the Sarah Ferguson credit on Science Seal
- 5:57Speaker 1: Delivered to the Moon and back. Note from being Megan.
- 6:00Speaker 1: This is long, but there's a lot of good information here,
- 6:02Speaker 1: so I think it's worth reading it all I'd been
- 6:04Speaker 1: a top IMDb contributor for over twenty years. I saw
- 6:08Speaker 1: the new movie on April fifth, the Australian release, and
- 6:10Speaker 1: I did what I always do after seeing a new movie.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I went to IMDb. There wasn't much besides a landing
- 6:15Speaker 1: page and a couple bit part actors linked. There were
- 6:18Speaker 1: no photos at all, none of the main cast members,
- 6:20Speaker 1: no plot outline, really nothing. So I started adding as
- 6:24Speaker 1: much as I could, including all of the actors slash
- 6:26Speaker 1: actresses from the credits. But as I was adding what
- 6:29Speaker 1: I could, I assumed it was all temporary until Hallmark
- 6:33Speaker 1: gave the official release info, which IMDb would use instead
- 6:36Speaker 1: of what I submitted. You also have to realize that
- 6:39Speaker 1: within a few days I had more than one hundred submissions.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I was adding many other items too, like quotes and trivia,
- 6:45Speaker 1: and with the way IMDb works, it can take up
- 6:47Speaker 1: to five days before new submission show, so I never
- 6:50Speaker 1: went back and checked everything because I was still assuming
- 6:53Speaker 1: Hallmark would update it before the movie aired. When adding
- 6:56Speaker 1: cast on IMDb, you type in the name and they
- 6:58Speaker 1: somehow decide the most likely actor to link. It turns
- 7:03Speaker 1: out there are about twenty Sarah Ferguson's on IMDb not
- 7:06Speaker 1: all actresses, but production and crew too. Only two have photos,
- 7:11Speaker 1: and it's possible the actress in this movie isn't any
- 7:13Speaker 1: of them. I don't know why IMDb chose to link
- 7:16Speaker 1: the Duchess, but the name is the same. The incorrect
- 7:19Speaker 1: credit for the Duchess has been removed now. She goes
- 7:21Speaker 1: on to say, I'm still shocked that Hallmark never provided
- 7:23Speaker 1: an official release for the movie, so IMDb is still
- 7:26Speaker 1: using the photos, plot outline, actors, actresses, and crew that
- 7:30Speaker 1: I submitted. In all of my years contributing to IMDb,
- 7:33Speaker 1: that has never happened before, and I'm still hoping for
- 7:36Speaker 1: something Hallmark official on IMDb. There have been a handful
- 7:40Speaker 1: of submissions on IMDb from others for the new movie,
- 7:43Speaker 1: so it's not all for me. But as I've noticed
- 7:45Speaker 1: in the past, there don't seem to be very many
- 7:47Speaker 1: postable IMDb contributors. You are always welcome to become a contributor.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Let me know if you need help learning how. This
- 7:55Speaker 1: isn't our Facebook group, so if you want help with that,
- 7:58Speaker 1: hop on over there. And if never gives official release info,
- 8:01Speaker 1: then I'll make sure that what we have on IMDb
- 8:03Speaker 1: is as best and accurate as it can be. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: have said for a long time that the back end
- 8:10Speaker 1: of IMDb is not user friendly if you are a contributor,
- 8:14Speaker 1: which I have an account signed up as a contributor
- 8:17Speaker 1: because I put our podcast episodes on there. It's just
- 8:21Speaker 1: not super user friendly, is it's it's just not super
- 8:25Speaker 1: friendly user friendly. Somebody did ask in our Facebook group though,
- 8:29Speaker 1: They were like, oh, I want to sign up to
- 8:31Speaker 1: Anybody can sign up to be a contributor. You don't
- 8:33Speaker 1: need any special like anything, right, But I think, like
- 8:41Speaker 1: she says, when you put the information in, then it
- 8:43Speaker 1: is reviewed by IMDb IMDb, and then it's plub published.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I think it's wrong to assume that then Hallmark has
- 8:51Speaker 1: a play in it somehow too, that they're checking the stuff,
- 8:54Speaker 1: because I don't think that's how that works well. But
- 8:57Speaker 1: then I wonder, I assume that there are certain contributors
- 8:59Speaker 1: that have a different level of clearance that maybe IMDb
- 9:03Speaker 1: is likely to, you know, if they have a Hallmark
- 9:06Speaker 1: official PR person submitting information, perhaps that's going to take
- 9:10Speaker 1: precedence over any other where they have the ability to
- 9:13Speaker 1: request that certain things be removed. Sure based on their
- 9:16Speaker 1: level of access. I would also imagine someone like Christine
- 9:18Speaker 1: who's been doing this for twenty years, might have some
- 9:22Speaker 1: flag on her account where it's like this person submits
- 9:25Speaker 1: legit stuff, right, so they might be more likely to
- 9:27Speaker 1: fast track her information. Right, But we don't know. I'm
- 9:30Speaker 1: just spitballing here. Yeah, I have no idea like what
- 9:33Speaker 1: that looks like. Are people in the IMDb office like
- 9:37Speaker 1: they see a submission come through and then they just
- 9:39Speaker 1: overlook it or is it like a full AI generated
- 9:42Speaker 1: like approved not approved situation and like who knows? Who knows?
- 9:46Speaker 1: I mean, look, I think it's fair to say take
- 9:48Speaker 1: IMDb information with a grain of salt. We famously were
- 9:52Speaker 1: caught with our pants down when we named the writer
- 9:55Speaker 1: of a movie who was a totally made up name.
- 9:58Speaker 1: That's right, I'm still embarrassed by it. So we often say,
- 10:04Speaker 1: per IMDb, according to IMDb. We try and cross reference
- 10:08Speaker 1: that with other information where available. Yeah, well, our early days,
- 10:12Speaker 1: we didn't have access to official information, so we were
- 10:17Speaker 1: strictly rolling off of Well now they don't publish official
- 10:20Speaker 1: information unless we ask for it. So yes, sometimes we
- 10:26Speaker 1: go old school and we just watch the credits and
- 10:28Speaker 1: write things down that we do. I also had mentioned
- 10:32Speaker 1: that IMDb is somewhat similar to like Wikipedia, like anybody
- 10:36Speaker 1: can change a page, so you know how Wikipedia like
- 10:41Speaker 1: somebody things are real funny when they're rolling in there
- 10:43Speaker 1: and they will change information about like a certain actor whatever.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Like it's it's the same concept. Yes, so anybody could
- 10:51Speaker 1: go into IMDb. I don't know how closely they are
- 10:54Speaker 1: looking at the submissions. I have no idea. Correct. All right,
- 10:58Speaker 1: that's a wrap on our science Sealed livered feedback. Our
- 11:02Speaker 1: next email is from Sherry and she is writing in
- 11:05Speaker 1: about our review of Dating the Delaney's, which fell during
- 11:09Speaker 1: April's Fan Favorite Review months. Sherry says, listen to your
- 11:15Speaker 1: Dating the Delaney's podcast. I agree, Rachel Boston is great.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Other favorite movies of mine that she did are The
- 11:23Speaker 1: Last Bridesmaid also with Paul Campbell, and Stop the Wedding
- 11:27Speaker 1: with Nile Mater. If you haven't watched or reviewed these,
- 11:31Speaker 1: give them a try. We haven't done either of those.
- 11:34Speaker 1: We haven't, and we got several messages recommending The Last
- 11:37Speaker 1: Bridesmaid as they must watch me Rachel Boston, Paul Campbell combo.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Maybe this summer, if there is time Cherry goes on
- 11:45Speaker 1: to Wray, I also want to rewatch Never Kiss a
- 11:47Speaker 1: Man in a Christmas Sweater. As you mentioned, I feel
- 11:50Speaker 1: embarrassed every single time we talk about that movie because
- 11:54Speaker 1: we were not kind to it. She writes. Ashley Williams
- 11:58Speaker 1: usually elevates a movie. Maybe try it during Christmas in July.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Thanks for the great reviews. They're honest but kind, and
- 12:05Speaker 1: your humor always brings a smile to my day, Sherry
- 12:07Speaker 1: from Maryland. As a counterpoint to someone, we always every
- 12:12Speaker 1: time Never because a man and a christ and cider
- 12:13Speaker 1: comes up, we talk about how we need to re
- 12:15Speaker 1: review it. We did get another message that was like,
- 12:17Speaker 1: maybe just leave that one alone? Really, perhaps since best
- 12:21Speaker 1: left alone, so we shall see what happens on rewatch
- 12:25Speaker 1: of that one. Okay, I'm down for the last Bride'smaid.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Hard time saying those two words together, last and bride'smaid
- 12:32Speaker 1: together is a hard word combination. Yeah, goodenough for you,
- 12:37Speaker 1: I don't think so. Or stop the wedding and I'd
- 12:39Speaker 1: watch that too. Next up, we have an email from
- 12:41Speaker 1: Rachel in regards to all things Baltimore. Rachel says, from
- 12:47Speaker 1: Melissa and Rachel, who are lessons in Hallmark on Instagram.
- 12:51Speaker 1: They are from Baltimore, Maryland. We heard a fellow listener's
- 12:55Speaker 1: proposal of a Baltimore Ravens movie and we have to agree.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Along with Baltimore's very deep sports fan culture, we also
- 13:02Speaker 1: have thirty fourth Street, a street in the neighborhood of
- 13:05Speaker 1: Hampden that is famous for street long Christmas display and
- 13:09Speaker 1: the Lonock House tying in charitable causes. Maryland's only Ronald
- 13:12Speaker 1: McDonald House is located in Baltimore, easily seen in the
- 13:16Speaker 1: Baltimore skyline by its giant glowing heart. Rashad Bateman, a
- 13:20Speaker 1: wide receiver for the Ravens, focuses a lot of his
- 13:23Speaker 1: charildable work on the Ronald McDonald House and even hosts
- 13:26Speaker 1: a Halloween party for the children there every year. We're
- 13:28Speaker 1: nerdy about Baltimore history, so we loved the talk about
- 13:31Speaker 1: the connection between Edgar Allan Poe and the Ravens team.
- 13:34Speaker 1: The Ravens are named after Edgar Allen Poe's famous poem
- 13:38Speaker 1: The Raven. The ravens current mascot is named Poe. There
- 13:41Speaker 1: is quite a following for Edgar Allen Poe in his work.
- 13:43Speaker 1: His last Baltimore residence is currently a museum and historical landmark.
- 13:47Speaker 1: When he died, he was found in a gutter in
- 13:49Speaker 1: Fell's Point. It said that he was last seen at
- 13:51Speaker 1: the Horse You Came In On Saloon, known by another
- 13:53Speaker 1: name at the time Baltimore's oldest tavern, established in seventeen
- 13:58Speaker 1: seventy five. His picture hangs in the bar today, along
- 14:00Speaker 1: with a sign that says pose last stop. People also
- 14:04Speaker 1: believe he and some other spirits still haunt the place. Oooh.
- 14:08Speaker 1: He's buried in Westminster Hall. One of the most interesting things,
- 14:10Speaker 1: which we also think would make an interesting Jane Mystery episode,
- 14:14Speaker 1: is the Poe toaster. From about nineteen forty nine, at
- 14:17Speaker 1: least the first time mentioned to two thousand and nine,
- 14:19Speaker 1: a mysterious person or person's usually wearing black, would visit
- 14:23Speaker 1: Poe's grave during the early hours of the morning on
- 14:27Speaker 1: his birthday and leave a half full bottle of cognac
- 14:30Speaker 1: and three red roses. The tradition continued each year until
- 14:34Speaker 1: two thousand and nine before it mysteriously stopped. There have
- 14:37Speaker 1: been theories, but the Poe toaster or toasters has never
- 14:40Speaker 1: been identified. Hold on pause in my mind, I was
- 14:43Speaker 1: like waiting for the toast connection not realizing it was
- 14:47Speaker 1: like a it's like a cheers toasting. Thank you. That's
- 14:52Speaker 1: from Melissa and Rachel. They sent along a photo of
- 14:55Speaker 1: the Ronald McDonald House's largest fundraiser, the Red Shoes Shuffle,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and the photo is with some of Baltimore's famous huns
- 15:02Speaker 1: bringing it all back real huns, hjo nism. That's so interesting.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Do I have so much knowledge of Baltimore now? I
- 15:12Speaker 1: know they do need to make a Raven's love story
- 15:15Speaker 1: next year. I think that'd be super cool. And I
- 15:17Speaker 1: really actually liked the idea for the Jane Mystery movie
- 15:21Speaker 1: as well. Speaking of Jane Mystery, the third movie, The
- 15:25Speaker 1: Murder at Mosby, is airing this week. It originally aired
- 15:29Speaker 1: on Hallmark Plus. It is now going to air on
- 15:31Speaker 1: Hallmark Channel Channel on Thursday night. Yeah. So interesting turn
- 15:39Speaker 1: of events here. Yeah, and it's not in our mail bag,
- 15:44Speaker 1: but I it is something I want to discuss here
- 15:47Speaker 1: on the podcast since we're talking about mysteries right now.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Our friend Eric over at Hallmark Mysteries and More made
- 15:57Speaker 1: a funny video. I don't know was it just for
- 16:00Speaker 1: us or was it it was his socials?
- 16:03Speaker 4: Right?
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay, he believes that Hallmark Mystery Channel is going
- 16:07Speaker 1: away that they are phasing it out, and I was like,
- 16:11Speaker 1: come on on, what evidence. Well, now that I see
- 16:14Speaker 1: that the Gene Mysteries is going to be on Thursday
- 16:17Speaker 1: Night on the Hallmark Channel, I'm like, maybe he's onto something. Yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 1: They simulcast Mystery Island on Mystery and Hallmark Channel, right,
- 16:26Speaker 1: they aired Science Sealed Delivered on Hallmark Channel, not Mystery. Yeah,
- 16:30Speaker 1: the evidence is mounting. Yeah, it sure is. How do
- 16:35Speaker 1: you feel about that? Do you like having this separate
- 16:37Speaker 1: mystery channel or does it matter to you? I don't.
- 16:40Speaker 1: It doesn't matter to me. The only concern that I
- 16:43Speaker 1: think mystery fans would have would be that there would
- 16:45Speaker 1: be fewer less mystery content coming their direction. What if
- 16:49Speaker 1: they just made Thursday Night's Mystery Night, it'd be great. Yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I mean people who love Hallmark mysteries love Hallmark Mysteries,
- 16:57Speaker 1: and so I think that's the only argument to be made,
- 16:59Speaker 1: because I don't think anybody's out there saying like we
- 17:01Speaker 1: need two channels, because there's certainly when you look at
- 17:05Speaker 1: how much content on Hallmark is syndication, like the Golden
- 17:08Speaker 1: Girls and that sort of thing, there's certainly plenty of
- 17:11Speaker 1: room right to add in a movie. Sure, I agree. Okay,
- 17:16Speaker 1: we have a voicemail from Era.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Hi, Magan and Wendy. Good morning. This message is from Era,
- 17:22Speaker 3: just calling to say I am super excited about the
- 17:26Speaker 3: new hotline. I think it's really fun idea. Really looking
- 17:29Speaker 3: forward to hearing everybody's messages being played on future mail
- 17:35Speaker 3: bag episodes. So I wanted to call and see your
- 17:39Speaker 3: guys' thoughts on homes Where the Heart is? You know,
- 17:42Speaker 3: I heard you guys were watching it. I was curious
- 17:45Speaker 3: if there was any standout episodes that you girls liked.
- 17:49Speaker 3: My particular favorite was the second episode with the design
- 17:54Speaker 3: elements that were kind of like a cool lounge vibe.
- 17:57Speaker 3: I thought it was really fun. So these type of
- 18:00Speaker 3: shows are usually not my jam, but I just have
- 18:03Speaker 3: to say it's super fun. Luke McFarlane is so charming.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I love all his little personal touches that he does
- 18:10Speaker 3: with his fun little woodworking tools, with the engraving of
- 18:16Speaker 3: the fireplaces and everything is so fun. Looking forward to
- 18:21Speaker 3: hearing what everybody else's thoughts are. Thanks, girls, have a
- 18:25Speaker 3: good day.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I watched the first episode. I may have the second
- 18:29Speaker 1: episode might have been on the background. I haven't sat
- 18:31Speaker 1: down and watched it. I remember really enjoying the first episode.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I really like Luke McFarlane a lot, and it's nice
- 18:38Speaker 1: to see him in like his a non actory role. Yeah, Like,
- 18:42Speaker 1: he's obviously passionate about this. I don't want to like it.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Sounds like I'm diminishing it when I say his hobby
- 18:49Speaker 1: of woodworking, I mean I think, well, I think he's
- 18:51Speaker 1: found a way to make his hobby meaningful, well meaningful,
- 18:55Speaker 1: and like he's made it part of his career, right,
- 18:59Speaker 1: you know, found a way to add in this passion project. Yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 1: I mean I like that Hallmark gave him a space
- 19:07Speaker 1: to do this. But behind the scenes here, there's a
- 19:09Speaker 1: lot of stuff that I don't get to watch simply
- 19:12Speaker 1: because we're not reviewing, and our review schedule is so
- 19:16Speaker 1: heavy some weeks that I just don't have the downtime
- 19:19Speaker 1: for like a fun, casual watch. Yeah, that is my
- 19:24Speaker 1: issue too, Like, I mean, you want to behind the scenes.
- 19:27Speaker 1: This week we are recording She's counting Guys twelve episodes, yeah,
- 19:35Speaker 1: over two days for three different podcasts. And I'm not like, oh,
- 19:39Speaker 1: feel bad for me, that's just our workload, Like that's
- 19:41Speaker 1: our job, and the reality is a lot of that
- 19:44Speaker 1: watching for me takes place during like my TV watching hours,
- 19:49Speaker 1: like on the weekends, during the evenings, like I would love.
- 19:53Speaker 1: You know, our friends at Deck the Hallmark live the dream,
- 19:55Speaker 1: Like they come into the office and they, you know,
- 19:57Speaker 1: do their watching during business hours and and you know,
- 20:01Speaker 1: one of these days, all our kids are going to
- 20:02Speaker 1: be in school and I'm going to be like, it's
- 20:04Speaker 1: nine o'clock Monday morning, I'm coming over, let's watch Harsh. Yeah,
- 20:08Speaker 1: we'll eventually get there, but yeah, I agree with what
- 20:11Speaker 1: you said. I've watched one and a half episodes of
- 20:13Speaker 1: the series. I really liked it. I would absolutely continue
- 20:18Speaker 1: watching it. Last night, I was having one of those
- 20:20Speaker 1: feelings as I was I turned on Netflix and there
- 20:22Speaker 1: was a new series I wanted to watch, the four
- 20:25Speaker 1: season series YEP, and I was like, oh my gosh,
- 20:28Speaker 1: because I need to watch the new episode of Hacks.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I need to watch need to the Valley after show,
- 20:34Speaker 1: I need to watch your Friends and Neighbors. I have
- 20:36Speaker 1: all of these things that I want to watch, and
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'm man all day watching Hallmark stuff, and I was like.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I can't.
- 20:41Speaker 1: There's not enough time in the day.
- 20:43Speaker 4: I know.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. And spoiler alert, this episode that you're
- 20:48Speaker 1: listening to right now comes out the same day as
- 20:51Speaker 1: our review of our first Impression Chesapeake Shores episode, and
- 20:55Speaker 1: I was like, I want to keep watching that. I'm
- 20:57Speaker 1: four episodes deep in pat show. I was like, almost
- 21:01Speaker 1: turned that back on last night. So I did turn
- 21:05Speaker 1: it back on last night. And you know what justified
- 21:08Speaker 1: it is that I was like, I don't have to
- 21:09Speaker 1: pay that close attention to it.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I simply was just like, oh, I'm really interested in
- 21:17Speaker 1: this family dynamic, so yeah, watch how it unfolds, but
- 21:20Speaker 1: I don't have to watch for it. Did you see
- 21:22Speaker 1: that or whatever? It's different, guys. We have another voicemail
- 21:27Speaker 1: from Michelle. She's stuck in Hallmark Plus.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Hey, I love your new voice feature. This is Michelle
- 21:34Speaker 4: clean up the voice notes in regard to your posting
- 21:37Speaker 4: about the different options to stream now that her Hallmark
- 21:40Speaker 4: is leading Peacock. One thing I noticed that I did
- 21:44Speaker 4: not see and that you may or may not know
- 21:47Speaker 4: as a benefit to the Hallmark Plus subscription is that
- 21:51Speaker 4: you can link it to your Hallmark rewards and every
- 21:55Speaker 4: month you get five dollars off a purchase in store
- 21:59Speaker 4: or online, and there's no limit. It could be a
- 22:01Speaker 4: five dollars purchase and all you have to do is
- 22:04Speaker 4: play the tax. Also, you get a free online custom
- 22:07Speaker 4: greeting card which is a four to ninety nine value,
- 22:10Speaker 4: and I have used those every month to either send
- 22:13Speaker 4: a card to my son or to family members. There's
- 22:17Speaker 4: hundreds and hundreds of cards that you design online. You
- 22:20Speaker 4: add your own text, and you can even upload a photo.
- 22:23Speaker 4: And it is a physical card. It's not a digital card.
- 22:26Speaker 4: It's a physical card that gets mailed to them. They
- 22:29Speaker 4: receive it in the mail. So if you have a
- 22:32Speaker 4: Homework Plus subscription, you are paying eight dollars a month.
- 22:37Speaker 4: If you do it monthly, if you pay for a
- 22:39Speaker 4: year in advance, you're paying six dollars and sixty some
- 22:42Speaker 4: odds cents a month, but you're getting ten dollars in
- 22:45Speaker 4: two pounds and rewards. So if you actually buy homework
- 22:49Speaker 4: cards and you send cards to people, they're basically paying
- 22:54Speaker 4: you to subscribe to the Homework Plus because you come
- 22:56Speaker 4: out on the positive each side.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Whenever I log in, every time I log into homock Plus,
- 23:02Speaker 1: it's like activate benefits the top. I've never time, I've
- 23:07Speaker 1: never linked it and then I see like stream and
- 23:10Speaker 1: redeem on some of the Obviously I use Homemark Plus
- 23:13Speaker 1: quite a bit. Maybe I should be activating some of
- 23:16Speaker 1: these benefits. Do you go buy physical cards? I like
- 23:20Speaker 1: the idea of this digital card that they print out
- 23:23Speaker 1: in sense. Yeah that's kind of cool. Yeah, I like
- 23:26Speaker 1: that too. I mean I walk into a Hallmark store
- 23:28Speaker 1: all the time, like there's they're in the mall. I
- 23:32Speaker 1: still like to walk into a Hallmark Gold Crowd store,
- 23:34Speaker 1: so maybe I would use my five dollar coupon. I
- 23:37Speaker 1: do think their cards are superior cards. The selection. I'm
- 23:43Speaker 1: actually honestly surprised how many there are, given how many
- 23:48Speaker 1: brick and mortar stores like don't make it. Yeah, Pretty
- 23:51Speaker 1: City just close their doors, right, so obviously they're meeting
- 23:55Speaker 1: a need although there's anybody in there never It's interesting.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I gotta tell you. This is not a plug for
- 24:02Speaker 1: Hallmark Plus or Homewark card stores whatever, but one I
- 24:06Speaker 1: feel like in our Facebook group that people were talking
- 24:08Speaker 1: about that they received some sort of like gift box
- 24:13Speaker 1: a while back. It might have been holiday time. Yes,
- 24:17Speaker 1: I don't remember, I know what you're talking about. I
- 24:19Speaker 1: don't remember when it was, but it we were like
- 24:21Speaker 1: we didn't get anything. Yeah, and everyone was like, did
- 24:24Speaker 1: you activate your rewards account? So that's the reason why, right.
- 24:28Speaker 1: The other thing, what was I going to say about
- 24:34Speaker 1: Hallmark stores? I don't. I don't remember other than I
- 24:37Speaker 1: like shopping a Hallmark store. I think they have good
- 24:39Speaker 1: gifts in there as well. They've got quite the Gilmore
- 24:41Speaker 1: Girls collection in there, I know they had. I kept
- 24:46Speaker 1: getting served an ad for something that I wanted to
- 24:48Speaker 1: buy you, but I thought it might be annoying. It
- 24:50Speaker 1: was like a mug on a mug warmer, but like
- 24:51Speaker 1: every time you lifted up the mug, it like said something.
- 24:54Speaker 1: But I was like, oh, that'd be like really Gillmore
- 24:55Speaker 1: Girls related, like yeah, CALLI coffee coffee. That was like,
- 24:59Speaker 1: it's a cute because it's like a Luke's Diner mug
- 25:01Speaker 1: on like a mug warmer. And I was just like
- 25:03Speaker 1: envisioning you like sitting here like with your because that's
- 25:06Speaker 1: why I don't drink coffe unless I'm gonna sit and
- 25:08Speaker 1: drink it. Drink drink it because I don't like it
- 25:10Speaker 1: it get it's cold, mm hmm. But I was like,
- 25:12Speaker 1: if it says cufa coffa coffee I were trying to
- 25:14Speaker 1: pick it up. That's super annoying anyway. Longtime listener Peebe
- 25:19Speaker 1: commented on our review of her pen pal. She writes, Megan,
- 25:23Speaker 1: I completely agree that No Tomorrow is amazing, fantastic show.
- 25:29Speaker 1: That's right. Reminding me again, it's on the CW It's
- 25:32Speaker 1: on it was, It's on Netflix one season wonder. Yes,
- 25:36Speaker 1: I hope it's still on Netflix. I would have to go.
- 25:39Speaker 1: It's ten episodes. As we just complained, we don't have
- 25:43Speaker 1: I know you don't have watch them, but anything but
- 25:47Speaker 1: like download it for a plane flight or something, Okay,
- 25:50Speaker 1: And she goes on to say, Windy, go watch it.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Also writes if you haven't, if you all haven't watched Gallivant,
- 25:58Speaker 1: you should. Mallory jen Sorry, Mallory Jensen and Joshua Sassy?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Is that how Sass are both in it? These are
- 26:06Speaker 1: our two leads In her pen pal as well, she
- 26:11Speaker 1: says it's kind of like Monty Python type show, period piece,
- 26:16Speaker 1: ridiculous comedy, fun songs, crazy antics, all around, a good time.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I responded, would hate this. We got a lot of
- 26:25Speaker 1: much like The Last brides Maid, we got a lot
- 26:27Speaker 1: of feedback after her pen pal that people. We absolutely
- 26:31Speaker 1: missed the gallivant connection between them, and they recommended us
- 26:34Speaker 1: watching it. I believe it's only one season and it
- 26:37Speaker 1: is on Hulu. Okay, that's another thing. I'm like, oh,
- 26:41Speaker 1: gotta go watch that. I mean, he was a real
- 26:43Speaker 1: hot piece, so I'm maybe I would maybe, I mean right, Okay.
- 26:54Speaker 1: We have a follow up email from Michelle after our
- 26:57Speaker 1: episode of The Good Witch, also very much in mine
- 27:00Speaker 1: with what we've been talking about.
- 27:02Speaker 4: I'm not coming for you. I'm only halfway through the episodes,
- 27:05Speaker 4: but please, please, please, you have to at least watch
- 27:08Speaker 4: a couple of the Goodwitched movies before the series, even
- 27:12Speaker 4: if you just watch the last one or two, because
- 27:16Speaker 4: a lot of things that you guys are questioning, like
- 27:18Speaker 4: where snim? There's more to the story. It all happens
- 27:22Speaker 4: in like the last two original movies. I think, Megan,
- 27:28Speaker 4: I think you and your daughter would enjoy watching this together.
- 27:31Speaker 4: There's only seven, It's like one a month.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Watch the end.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Goodwitch people are like scienceell delivered people. We are loyal.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Call you out, but I'm not gonna call you out
- 27:43Speaker 4: from my friend. Okay. Two voice notes, one morning, finish
- 27:46Speaker 4: the episode. Wendy here is your encouragement to watch more.
- 27:51Speaker 4: I think you would like it. It does get more magical,
- 27:53Speaker 4: it does get more mystical. There are tendencies to be
- 27:57Speaker 4: very wholesome because it's the wholesome family, nothing big and scandalists, right. However,
- 28:05Speaker 4: you may opt for the special Halloween episodes. Maybe just
- 28:10Speaker 4: watch the Halloween episodes because they have more mystical magical stuff.
- 28:14Speaker 4: I do agree with the one person that wrote in
- 28:16Speaker 4: about the final season just being and that it kind
- 28:19Speaker 4: of went off the rails to final seasons, but do
- 28:22Speaker 4: give it a shot. I was up for seeing, yes
- 28:25Speaker 4: review this until I remember Chesapeake Shores, and I would
- 28:29Speaker 4: much rather you reviewed Chesapeake Shores. Chessa Peake Shores, as
- 28:34Speaker 4: my previous email states, is amazing. I'm really enjoying this
- 28:40Speaker 4: new first impression and look forward to hearing Moore have
- 28:44Speaker 4: a great day.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I have a question for Time Out. Okay, what's your question?
- 28:50Speaker 1: Do you envision a world in which we start reviewing
- 28:53Speaker 1: Chesapeake Shores episode by episode? This was my concern. Were
- 29:00Speaker 1: we not clear that we were not going to move
- 29:02Speaker 1: on and review these whole series. I think people have hope.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I mean, if anything, well, Okay, after watching a good Witch.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, I could totally get into this
- 29:14Speaker 1: now we just talked about it. We've watched the first
- 29:17Speaker 1: Chesapeake Shores. I'm like, I could totally get into that.
- 29:20Speaker 1: So I don't know where would that even go in
- 29:23Speaker 1: our schedule. I don't know at the end of the
- 29:28Speaker 1: first Impressions run. Maybe January twenty twenty six, maybe, I
- 29:35Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, how many episodes a week do
- 29:37Speaker 1: you guys want from us? Email us let us know,
- 29:40Speaker 1: because some people it's five in the podcast space say
- 29:45Speaker 1: there are too many. You know, five is too many.
- 29:49Speaker 1: People don't tune in every single day for five hours.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Yeah that if you're publishing five episodes a week, your
- 29:54Speaker 1: entire audience is definitely not listening to all. Yeah, they
- 29:56Speaker 1: get like burned out on it. So I'm I mean,
- 30:01Speaker 1: I would love some feedback from our audience, from our
- 30:03Speaker 1: regular listeners, like what what do they want from us?
- 30:07Speaker 1: What do you want? I mean, we can't. I know,
- 30:09Speaker 1: some days, some weeks we do put out five, but honestly,
- 30:13Speaker 1: like right now, we're rerunning Chicken Sisters that was recorded
- 30:16Speaker 1: six months ago, so that's easy to drop five episodes
- 30:18Speaker 1: when we're doing that, we're putting six episodes out this week.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Oh but but Jane is also a rear, so okay,
- 30:27Speaker 1: but yeah, so what okays, let us know, just let
- 30:31Speaker 1: us know what do you actually want? We don't want
- 30:35Speaker 1: to oversaturate too late, Okay. Our next email is from
- 30:42Speaker 1: Sendy and it is about receiving phone calls late at night.
- 30:46Speaker 1: This was our our sign sealed Deliver episode, we thinks.
- 30:49Speaker 1: She writes, I was cracking up when I was listening
- 30:51Speaker 1: to the podcast this morning and one of you mentioned
- 30:53Speaker 1: how you were younger you weren't allowed to be on
- 30:57Speaker 1: the phone past nine pm, because that was my AD's
- 31:00Speaker 1: rule for me too. Are we sisters, Cindy? And if
- 31:05Speaker 1: I was on past nine o'clock, he would pick up
- 31:08Speaker 1: the extension from the living room and just say it's
- 31:11Speaker 1: nine o'clock and his deep voice ello wow. I about
- 31:14Speaker 1: died from embarrassment each time that happened. I also wanted
- 31:17Speaker 1: to add I once I got a phone in my
- 31:20Speaker 1: room and wanted to talk past nine or have someone
- 31:22Speaker 1: call me, I would go around and turn the other
- 31:25Speaker 1: ringers off so someone could call me. This feels very
- 31:30Speaker 1: much like my high school shenanigans. I did too. Did
- 31:33Speaker 1: you have a clearphone. I had, no No, I had
- 31:36Speaker 1: like a what looked like a office cone, like an
- 31:40Speaker 1: answering machine, phone machines situation where I would play a
- 31:46Speaker 1: song on the outgoing message Yeah, I mean, come on, guys,
- 31:50Speaker 1: it was Aerosmith for a little time. I missed those days,
- 31:56Speaker 1: Sindy innswer email. I had one of those clear nineties
- 31:59Speaker 1: phones that lit up and I just grab it quickly
- 32:01Speaker 1: and talk quietly. I can remember getting caught in my room,
- 32:04Speaker 1: like I was definitely supposed to have gone to bed,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and I'd still be on the phone. My mom would
- 32:08Speaker 1: open the door and just like look at me.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Yep.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I'd be like, I gotta go yep. I think I
- 32:12Speaker 1: also had, before I had the phone in my room,
- 32:14Speaker 1: my own phone line. Dad would pick up the phone
- 32:17Speaker 1: too and be like, what are you doing on the phone? Wow? Embarrassing.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Well this speaking of phones, we've just been talking about
- 32:27Speaker 1: college a lot. I was in college, like pre I
- 32:30Speaker 1: had a cell phone, but it wasn't a cell phone
- 32:32Speaker 1: used to call people. It was like an emergency cell phone.
- 32:36Speaker 1: And our in room phones had like ten foot long
- 32:40Speaker 1: chords on them, so you could like maneuver around. Yeah, yes,
- 32:45Speaker 1: and you would know if you were on a private call,
- 32:47Speaker 1: because like the cord would be like stretched to the
- 32:49Speaker 1: door and like would be sitting outside the door, so
- 32:52Speaker 1: you could get away from your roommates and have a
- 32:54Speaker 1: private phone in the hallway where everybody's walking by. It's
- 32:57Speaker 1: not private. But because you were talking shit on the
- 32:59Speaker 1: room maids for all, No, you know you're talking like
- 33:02Speaker 1: your boyfriend back home. Sure, sure, sure you didn't have
- 33:06Speaker 1: a cordless phone or because that was it was a
- 33:09Speaker 1: dorm Yeah, it was dorm issued, got it. That was
- 33:13Speaker 1: back like I we had Oh my gosh, you know
- 33:16Speaker 1: our kids have it so good because when I was
- 33:18Speaker 1: in college, we would send these like mass voicemails, Like
- 33:21Speaker 1: if you were in like an organization, I could like
- 33:24Speaker 1: send a message to like everyone on whatever. And that's
- 33:28Speaker 1: how you got your room from. Like we didn't email.
- 33:30Speaker 1: We had email, but that's not how we communicated with people.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You'd like listen to your voicemail and be like, I
- 33:37Speaker 1: have a meeting tomorrow. So funny. Anyway, Blasts from the
- 33:41Speaker 1: pan good old days. Well, this has been another blast
- 33:46Speaker 1: of an episode. We love listener mailback episodes. We love
- 33:50Speaker 1: your feedback. We super loved the launch of our listener voicemails,
- 33:58Speaker 1: So send us your emails, leave us your voice memos.
- 34:01Speaker 1: The phone number is in the show notes below. We
- 34:04Speaker 1: love to hear from you. The more we hear from you,
- 34:07Speaker 1: the more of these episodes we can produce. We'll see
- 34:09Speaker 1: you next time. Goodbye. Bye. All right friends, before we go,
- 34:24Speaker 1: just a quick heads up. You're about to hear some ads.
- 34:26Speaker 1: These little gems help us keep the show running and
- 34:28Speaker 1: the Hallmark love flowing. So do with that info what
- 34:32Speaker 1: you will. Grab a snack, hit the skip button, or
- 34:35Speaker 1: maybe just maybe listen in and discover your new favorite product.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Bye
