Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: The following content does not reflect the opinions of Fox
- 0:03Speaker 1: Sports Radio. We know this show sucks.
- 0:10Speaker 2: All right, all right, you.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Or your lie from Philly.
- 0:14Speaker 2: It's the number one rated Polly and Tony Fusco show,
- 0:18Speaker 2: Yo Yo, y'all always Polly Fosco here with Tony Fusco
- 0:23Speaker 2: and Tony Yo huge show today. Of course, we're gonna
- 0:29Speaker 2: get into these idiots out there who continue to bash
- 0:32Speaker 2: the Eagles because they won lost three straight games.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Big deal, as they say, these people can't see the
- 0:39Speaker 1: trees in the forest morons.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. You know, people, the team is still ten
- 0:44Speaker 2: and four, all right, They basically won eighty five percent
- 0:47Speaker 2: of their games, and yet the lying media wants to
- 0:50Speaker 2: tell you this is a bad team. Well, we're going
- 0:52Speaker 2: to expose that. And you know, also something we're gonna
- 0:55Speaker 2: do Tony on this show. You're not gonna want to
- 0:57Speaker 2: miss a very emotional and movie tribute to all the
- 1:02Speaker 2: people we lost in the year twenty twenty three. And
- 1:06Speaker 2: just to be clear, it will only be the big
- 1:08Speaker 2: names people know, you know, not the forgettable people. You know.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, if you got left off this list, well you
- 1:15Speaker 1: should have been more famous. That's on you.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Exactly. But before that, we have a big and somewhat
- 1:20Speaker 2: confusing announcement, don't we Tony. The show has just been
- 1:24Speaker 2: shortlisted by these Sports Podcast Awards for Best Sports Comedy
- 1:30Speaker 2: Podcast Comedy.
- 1:33Speaker 1: This isn't a comedy show.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I don't get it either, Tony. You know, that's why
- 1:38Speaker 2: we need to expose this Sports Podcast Awards for the
- 1:41Speaker 2: idiocy anyway. So we're going to do that by telling
- 1:44Speaker 2: you to click the link in the description right down there,
- 1:48Speaker 2: and you know, vote for the show so we can
- 1:50Speaker 2: expose these morons, whoever they are, once and.
- 1:53Speaker 1: For all, and use your computer because on the phone,
- 1:56Speaker 1: the website sucks.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. They don't know how to build a
- 2:01Speaker 2: website anyway. If we know a top story, you know,
- 2:03Speaker 2: usually we get paid millions of dollars to do some
- 2:06Speaker 2: of our business demands right here. But today we're going
- 2:08Speaker 2: to use this prime valuable real estate to promote the
- 2:12Speaker 2: official Fusco Show merch Store. If you're looking for a
- 2:16Speaker 2: last minute gift for the holidays, well you're too late,
- 2:19Speaker 2: but you know you can still order from the merch
- 2:21Speaker 2: store and then go tell people that it's on its way,
- 2:24Speaker 2: right Tony.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah, and if they complain, tell them to shut up
- 2:28Speaker 1: and be patient, relaxed.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. Anyway, well, you know what's on the way
- 2:32Speaker 2: right now, Tony a top story story, first story out
- 2:38Speaker 2: the gate. You know, the Eagles they are lost to
- 2:40Speaker 2: the Seahawks. But that was clearly only because Jalen Hurts
- 2:44Speaker 2: somehow got sick for the first time in years. And well,
- 2:47Speaker 2: you know, this is what we do on the show,
- 2:49Speaker 2: don't we, Tony. We connect the dots. The lazy media
- 2:53Speaker 2: just refuses to connect. And you know, people, doesn't this
- 2:56Speaker 2: seem a little strange? The NFL takes away the Eagles
- 2:59Speaker 2: top security god and then suddenly Jalen Hurts get sick.
- 3:03Speaker 2: How do we know this isn't germ warfare? Jalen Hurts
- 3:07Speaker 2: was one hundred percent germ free right up until they
- 3:10Speaker 2: took away that security god. Now he's as infected as
- 3:13Speaker 2: a baton Wuhan and that Tony Hey, which NFL city
- 3:18Speaker 2: is closest to Wuhan.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Seeah, oh, there you go, great point by your poor Lee.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and here's another great point, you know, by the way,
- 3:27Speaker 2: after that loss to the Seahawks, Jalen Hurts said the
- 3:30Speaker 2: team lacked quote commitment, but then this reporter moron asked
- 3:35Speaker 2: him to define commitment play unbelievable. What do you mean
- 3:38Speaker 2: by that being committed?
- 3:40Speaker 3: Now?
- 3:42Speaker 2: You know, people, if you are a reporter and you
- 3:45Speaker 2: have to ask what words mean, then you are a reporter.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Instead of asking a quarterback, why don't you go ask
- 3:52Speaker 2: aus thesaurus? So stupid talking about stupid, Tony. Let's talk
- 3:56Speaker 2: about the Dallas Cowboys. You know, despite getting set it's
- 4:00Speaker 2: weekly humiliated by the Bills thirty one to ten. Somehow
- 4:03Speaker 2: Dallas clinched a playoff spot, and that Tony, this is
- 4:07Speaker 2: just absolutely baffling and quite disturbing, isn't it?
- 4:11Speaker 1: It makes no sense. I mean, what is the NFL
- 4:14Speaker 1: doing by rewarding the Cowboys with the playoff spot just
- 4:18Speaker 1: for losing by twenty one points? This is exactly the
- 4:21Speaker 1: problem with society. It's called failing upwards. What are we
- 4:26Speaker 1: teaching our children. It's bad enough that we have people
- 4:29Speaker 1: like the Hot Chicks daughter from full House getting into
- 4:32Speaker 1: college for doing nothing. Now we have the Cowboys making
- 4:35Speaker 1: the playoffs for losing. If I'm the NFL, I would
- 4:39Speaker 1: be revoking their playoff spot immediately.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Terrific and important analysis that Dony and another important subject
- 4:48Speaker 2: we must address on this show. Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito
- 4:53Speaker 2: and his agent Sean Stellato have been making headlines for
- 4:57Speaker 2: their specific way of speaking in dressing, you know, which
- 5:00Speaker 2: has made certain people on the internet mock them carelessly
- 5:04Speaker 2: for resembling characters and the Sopranos and the other Italian
- 5:08Speaker 2: American stereotypes. And Tony, this is a very troubling issue
- 5:13Speaker 2: that hits home for us, doesn't it?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Absolutely, Just to get serious for a moment, we really
- 5:18Speaker 1: need to defend Tommy DeVito and his agent here. It
- 5:22Speaker 1: is totally wrong to mock people for their way of
- 5:25Speaker 1: speaking and dressing, especially Italian Americans. Do you really think
- 5:30Speaker 1: it's funny to mock someone because they talk like some
- 5:32Speaker 1: kind of side character from the Sopranos, for wearing a
- 5:36Speaker 1: green suit with a turtleneck and a fedora and also
- 5:39Speaker 1: a gold chain that has a golden rattlesnake pendant. There's
- 5:43Speaker 1: nothing either remotely funny or even entertaining about.
- 5:47Speaker 2: That, so beautifully said Tony. And now to another annoying
- 5:52Speaker 2: quarterback situation we must address. You know, people out there,
- 5:55Speaker 2: they're claiming that forty nine Ers quarterback Brock Purty should
- 5:59Speaker 2: be the because of you know, so called important stats
- 6:02Speaker 2: like passyards, touchdowns, completion percentage. But Tony, we all know
- 6:08Speaker 2: what's the only stat for a quarterback that matters pass attempts.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, yep. Rock Party is dead last in the
- 6:19Speaker 1: NFL and the only QB stat that matters we just
- 6:23Speaker 1: said it, pass attempts. This shows how little the forty
- 6:26Speaker 1: nine ers trust him with the ball. I mean, all
- 6:29Speaker 1: they really want him to do is give the ball
- 6:32Speaker 1: to the running backs. What are we gonna do give
- 6:34Speaker 1: him MVP for throwing zero yard passes? You know, this
- 6:39Speaker 1: is why I've never understood why we tip waders at restaurants.
- 6:42Speaker 1: They didn't make the food, They just handed me the food.
- 6:46Speaker 1: That's why whenever I tip waiters, I always tell them,
- 6:49Speaker 1: make sure this goes to the chef, not Youyo, you
- 6:53Speaker 1: didn't do anything.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Just a terrific analogy there that puts it in perspective
- 6:59Speaker 2: for everyone. And now to some other perspective. You know,
- 7:02Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers making a lot of people angry out there
- 7:06Speaker 2: this week after he was activated to the Jets fifty
- 7:09Speaker 2: three man roster, which meant that Jets fullback Nick Borden
- 7:13Speaker 2: had to be deactivated and delirable. This is just such
- 7:17Speaker 2: a disrespectful, terrible move, isn't it.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean this move by Aaron Rodgers is so
- 7:24Speaker 1: disrespectful to Nick Bowden and his many accomplishments. What up
- 7:29Speaker 1: his stats from this year? He has two carries and
- 7:33Speaker 1: one of them is a touchdown. That means he gets
- 7:36Speaker 1: a touchdown half the time he has the ball. Those
- 7:40Speaker 1: are Hall of Fame numbers. This just shows more poor
- 7:43Speaker 1: mismanagement from the Jets.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Such terrific statistical analysis that Dony and now finally moving
- 7:52Speaker 2: to college football, It's time for our annual tradition on
- 7:55Speaker 2: this show, as you know, our yearly ball game predictions.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I'm gonna set Tony up with the matchups and he's
- 8:02Speaker 2: gonna give you his one hundred percent Locke prediction for
- 8:06Speaker 2: each bowl game. Okay, First up, Tony, here we go
- 8:10Speaker 2: the Camellia Ball Arkansas State versus Northern Illinois.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Not gonna watch, okay.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Next one, the famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Georgia State versus
- 8:22Speaker 2: Utah State.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Watching this game will put me in a comatose state.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Next up, UNC versus West Virginia in the Duke's Mayo Bowl.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I Mayo not be watching this game, all right.
- 8:38Speaker 2: The Lending Tree Bowl South Alabama versus Eastern Michigan.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I will be lending the remote control to anyone who
- 8:48Speaker 1: wants to change the channel.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Okay. Next up the Guaranteed Rate Bowl Bowling Green versus Minnesota.
- 8:56Speaker 1: This game will have a guaranteed rate of zero viewers.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Okay. And finally the First Responder Ball Texas State versus Rice.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I'm going to need a first responder after I die
- 9:11Speaker 1: from bottom. There you go.
- 9:13Speaker 2: There you have it, our one hundred percent Lock Bowl
- 9:16Speaker 2: game predictions. Great job, Tony, But of course now it's
- 9:21Speaker 2: time to bring it down a notch. Kill that music,
- 9:24Speaker 2: because as we do every year on the show, it's
- 9:26Speaker 2: time for our special in Memoriam second when we look
- 9:30Speaker 2: at lots of yeah and all the many people we
- 9:35Speaker 2: have lost. Again, just to be clear, only the famous people,
- 9:38Speaker 2: not the forgettable people. So you know, just only the
- 9:42Speaker 2: famous people and the names you know, all right, So
- 9:44Speaker 2: here we go a playing that sad music, play that
- 9:47Speaker 2: sad music, and let's get into it.
- 9:51Speaker 1: In Memoriam twenty twenty three.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Okay, Tony, our first name, you run the list. Bob Knight,
- 10:01Speaker 2: Legendary coach basketball coach for Bediana and Texas Tech. You know, people,
- 10:07Speaker 2: there no other coach in any sport who had more
- 10:11Speaker 2: of an.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Impact, not even closes.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And that's because he had an actual impact, of course,
- 10:15Speaker 2: like when he threw a chair at a referee or
- 10:17Speaker 2: punch the player in the face because he missed a
- 10:19Speaker 2: three throw. And this is such such legendary coaching, right,
- 10:23Speaker 2: Tony so true.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Bobby Knight knew how to motivate players. You don't give
- 10:30Speaker 1: them positive feedback and all this sudden lane put bullshit.
- 10:33Speaker 1: No no, you just reach out and choke them. And well,
- 10:37Speaker 1: the results speak for themselves. Tons of Final Four appearances, championships,
- 10:44Speaker 1: also several lawsuits, complaints, police visits, rewriting of institutional behavior policies,
- 10:51Speaker 1: and investigations from ESPN's outside the lines. But that's just
- 10:56Speaker 1: because naive people didn't understand how coaching works.
- 11:01Speaker 2: You know, Tony so well said. And when you think
- 11:03Speaker 2: about it that way, you know, if Bobby Knight had
- 11:06Speaker 2: been allowed to choke and punch more players, you'd have
- 11:09Speaker 2: to think he'd have four or five more championships under
- 11:11Speaker 2: his belt minimum. Yeah, eas, And that leads us to
- 11:15Speaker 2: our next name in our in memoriam segment legendary Chicago
- 11:20Speaker 2: Bears defenseman Dick Buckus. And you know what really bothers
- 11:25Speaker 2: me here, Dony, It's that Dick but Gus never got
- 11:28Speaker 2: the respect he deserves. He should say your bigger name
- 11:32Speaker 2: as OJ Simpson. You know, you may say, well that's
- 11:35Speaker 2: a bad thing, but no, you see, Dick Buckus, he
- 11:38Speaker 2: knew that it was okay to murder someone as well
- 11:41Speaker 2: as you did it in the field of play, right,
- 11:44Speaker 2: Tony one hundred.
- 11:47Speaker 1: You know, it's so unfortunate that the NFL never counted
- 11:51Speaker 1: as a stat murders and attempted murders, because if they did,
- 11:55Speaker 1: Dick Buckus would be right up there with OJ and
- 11:58Speaker 1: Jack the Ripper and you know Ted Bondy. But again
- 12:02Speaker 1: in a good way, because he did his attempted murdering legally.
- 12:07Speaker 2: So well, said Tony. And of course we can't overlook
- 12:11Speaker 2: the profound work that Dick Butckus did in the entertainment industry.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Of course, I'm talking about his work on the sitgum
- 12:19Speaker 2: My Two Dads. You know, sounds like it was about
- 12:22Speaker 2: two men who have a baby. But you know, if
- 12:24Speaker 2: you actually bothered to watch the show, you'd realize that
- 12:28Speaker 2: was not the premise. Just two men who fought over
- 12:31Speaker 2: the same girl years ago and then came together to
- 12:35Speaker 2: raise her daughter, you know, perfectly plausible and heterosexual arrangement there.
- 12:40Speaker 2: And to also be clear, Dick, but Gus was not
- 12:42Speaker 2: one of the dads, So just remember that he was
- 12:45Speaker 2: just the guy that the cafe on the first floor
- 12:48Speaker 2: of the apartment building where the two dads lived very common.
- 12:52Speaker 2: It's very common, very plausible again for apartment buildings to
- 12:55Speaker 2: just have cafes on the first floor. So totally there
- 12:59Speaker 2: you go. He will be all right. And that brings
- 13:02Speaker 2: us to our next legend. We are honoring here great
- 13:06Speaker 2: third basement for the Baltimore Orioles Brooks. Robinson just don't know,
- 13:12Speaker 2: you know so many great plays, you know, such a
- 13:14Speaker 2: great hitter, fielder. But you know all, I hate to
- 13:18Speaker 2: say this, but he will always be known as the
- 13:22Speaker 2: third greatest player with the last name Robinson.
- 13:24Speaker 1: You got to mention it. True.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I hate to say it, but you know, Frank Robinson
- 13:28Speaker 2: much better, Jackie Robinson much more important.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Way more important, totally.
- 13:34Speaker 2: And you know, I guess if we're talking athletes, then
- 13:37Speaker 2: I you know, David Robinson more famous.
- 13:40Speaker 1: You know that's true. Sugar Ray Robin Sugar. Yeah.
- 13:45Speaker 2: And you know, yeah, I guess if we're talking famous people, Tony,
- 13:48Speaker 2: we got to mention Smokey Robinson.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, the guy from the Office, Greg Robinson,
- 13:55Speaker 1: right yeah, yeah. And also you got the Swiss family Robinson.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Y Swiss family Robinson. That was that was a thing.
- 14:02Speaker 2: So yeah, that was a thing. You got to put
- 14:04Speaker 2: you boys and yels. You got to put all them
- 14:07Speaker 2: family above Brooks Robinson. So all right, Brooks Robinson famous.
- 14:12Speaker 2: But you know, when you look at it, among the
- 14:14Speaker 2: Robinson's only really the thirteenth or fourteenth most famous robber.
- 14:18Speaker 1: He's definitely up there. He's definitely up there, definitely.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Up there, all right. Next up in our special in
- 14:25Speaker 2: Memoriam segment for twenty twenty three, basketball legend Willis Reid,
- 14:30Speaker 2: you know, won two titles and had that legendary Game
- 14:35Speaker 2: seven performance versus the Lakers. Who can forget But you know,
- 14:39Speaker 2: unfortunately he did win those titles with the Knicks, and
- 14:43Speaker 2: I hate to say it, but that does kind of
- 14:45Speaker 2: tarnish his whole legacy, you know, it.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Does a little bit maybe for being honest.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Played for a better franchise, you know, like the Sixers
- 14:52Speaker 2: or Lakers, even he did revered, but you know, since
- 14:56Speaker 2: he played for the Knicks again, unfortunately, when people here
- 15:00Speaker 2: he was a.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Nick they just assume Hones.
- 15:02Speaker 2: His teens must have been sub five hundred garbage every year,
- 15:05Speaker 2: you know, and losing in the first round every year.
- 15:08Speaker 2: And you know that's just such a shame.
- 15:10Speaker 1: For a legend like Willis, absolutely but also accurate.
- 15:14Speaker 2: There you go. And now next on our list a
- 15:18Speaker 2: non sports person, but illuminary.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Doesn't his own right, right, Matthew Perry.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Now you know you've heard many tributes to him in
- 15:27Speaker 2: recent weeks, but nobody has said what must be said,
- 15:31Speaker 2: And of course that's that Friends was the funnier show
- 15:34Speaker 2: than Seinfeld, you know, not even exactly. You know, people
- 15:38Speaker 2: will always act like Seinfeld was the better show, but
- 15:41Speaker 2: not by me, definitely not by you, Tony. I mean,
- 15:44Speaker 2: never understood, I never understood, never understood Seinfeld. You know,
- 15:47Speaker 2: all those storylines going back and forth, you know, confusing,
- 15:51Speaker 2: not funny at all, too much to follow. You know, Friends,
- 15:54Speaker 2: they had that right formula, you know, one liners, you know,
- 15:58Speaker 2: the handler bing, you know, hot chicks, tyme, they had
- 16:02Speaker 2: it all yeah, exactly.
- 16:04Speaker 1: And they also had funny gimmicks like Marcello the Monkey.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean that's you put all those ingredients together there.
- 16:11Speaker 2: I just I can't believe people don't have, you know,
- 16:15Speaker 2: friends still up there. So again, I know, another name
- 16:18Speaker 2: on our list saying in the entertainment istry a big
- 16:21Speaker 2: loss yet Tony Raquel Welch again what sports, But just
- 16:26Speaker 2: what a legendary actress and of course such an incredible
- 16:31Speaker 2: body of work. I mean, you know, of.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Work absolutely, just so much to admire. That body of
- 16:38Speaker 1: work was so incredible and so full and just so memorable.
- 16:43Speaker 2: So memorable. I mean, you know there were so many
- 16:45Speaker 2: times I would just you know, close my eyes and
- 16:48Speaker 2: think about that incredible body of work and you know.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Just really again and again again and again.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:55Speaker 1: You know, she had so many great movies, you know,
- 16:59Speaker 1: like the one where she walked around in that ripped
- 17:01Speaker 1: kind of loincloth thing yep, or you know the other
- 17:05Speaker 1: one where she wore the bikini that looked like an
- 17:08Speaker 1: American flag, kind of like a hot Betsy Ross, And
- 17:11Speaker 1: you know, there's so many other great performances.
- 17:17Speaker 2: She was so gifted in so many ways, as you
- 17:19Speaker 2: just pointed, out so beautifully and finally, thank you last,
- 17:24Speaker 2: but certainly not least, on our list great Oakland A's pitcher,
- 17:29Speaker 2: Vida Blue and Tony. You have a personal story here,
- 17:32Speaker 2: don't you.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I do. When I was a kid, I remember my
- 17:36Speaker 1: dad and I were driving the Veterans one day when
- 17:39Speaker 1: the A's were playing the Phillies, and this guy cut
- 17:42Speaker 1: my dad off in traffic and my dad was like,
- 17:44Speaker 1: that was Vita Blue. So he sped up like one
- 17:47Speaker 1: hundred miles an hour and chased him down, and finally
- 17:51Speaker 1: we caught up with them at a traffic light and
- 17:53Speaker 1: my dad rolled down my window and was like, fuck,
- 17:55Speaker 1: Vita Blue, you has been non Hall of Famer. But
- 17:59Speaker 1: then we realized it wasn't Vita Blue, but just some
- 18:02Speaker 1: guy who kind of looked like him. So, you know,
- 18:05Speaker 1: I thought to myself, you know, it doesn't make sense
- 18:09Speaker 1: because Vita Blue would never cut us off like that.
- 18:12Speaker 1: That's the kind of guy that Vita Blue was. That
- 18:15Speaker 1: whole experience really just made me keep a very high
- 18:19Speaker 1: opinion of Vita Blue.
- 18:22Speaker 2: What a truly heartfelt story there, Tony. In just a
- 18:26Speaker 2: perfect way to wrap up our in Memoriam segment for
- 18:30Speaker 2: twenty twenty. First off, we do apologize to any people
- 18:34Speaker 2: who were left off the list, but that, you know,
- 18:36Speaker 2: just means you weren't famous enough, so you know that's
- 18:39Speaker 2: on you. Before we wrap the show entirely, we do
- 18:43Speaker 2: want to remind you go visit the official food Stop store.
- 18:49Speaker 2: If it's someone I wish it was an in memoriam segment,
- 18:53Speaker 2: I'll produce a jay.
- 18:54Speaker 1: They'll be there soon. What do you want?
- 18:56Speaker 3: Corrections? What? What?
- 18:58Speaker 1: Hurry up?
- 19:00Speaker 3: Lambed brought purty for being last in pass attempts.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yay, it sucks, bro.
- 19:05Speaker 2: It can't be trusted with the ball.
- 19:07Speaker 3: He doesn't have to throw the ball because they're usually
- 19:10Speaker 3: in the lead. Quarterbacks throw more when they're losing.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Well when I see you after the show,
- 19:18Speaker 2: you're going to be losing blood.
