- 0:04Speaker 1: Oh, Shobert gonna send one.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Way out of here?
- 0:09Speaker 3: How far will it fly?
- 0:10Speaker 4: My goodness, Kyle Schwarber with a tape measure shot.
- 0:17Speaker 1: And now Schwarber a high towering fly ball. It's another bomb.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Kyle Schwarmer has done it again, and the Phillies have
- 0:27Speaker 4: busted in wide open here the eighth. They said the
- 0:33Speaker 4: Phillies window was closing, and Kyle Schwarber took out the
- 0:37Speaker 4: crow ball crowbar and pride that thing back open.
- 0:41Speaker 3: They're not done yet.
- 0:42Speaker 4: This is the closer on TVs presented by Genesis Motor America.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Curtis Granderson, the Man j Rowl, the Man Pedro Martinez.
- 0:52Speaker 5: A yeah, the Phillies. This was pending free agency. Schwarber
- 0:59Speaker 5: sware g t Ro Muto. Will this be the end
- 1:02Speaker 5: of them?
- 1:03Speaker 4: They're up against Yamamoto and the Phillies came out swinging.
- 1:06Speaker 4: They put up an eight spot on the Dodgers, and
- 1:09Speaker 4: we have game four tomorrow night.
- 1:12Speaker 5: Let's get to that schedule. Here's where it starts. Join
- 1:15Speaker 5: us five point.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Thirty right here on TBS true and on Max. We
- 1:20Speaker 4: start off with Phillies Dodgers. The nightcap will be Brewers
- 1:24Speaker 4: Cubs as the Cubs also extended their series at Wrigley.
- 1:29Speaker 4: We will get to all of that action, but j Row,
- 1:33Speaker 4: you said in pregame it could all change on one
- 1:36Speaker 4: swing of the bat. Kyle Schwarber has played seventy two
- 1:39Speaker 4: postseason games. This is only the second one where he's
- 1:42Speaker 4: hit two dingers. Two swings the bat changed it.
- 1:45Speaker 6: For the Phillies, and you need that as a team
- 1:48Speaker 6: that's looking for something to get you up.
- 1:50Speaker 1: And it's not the fact that it was a home run.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It was a schwar.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Bomb four hundred and fifty five.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Just sit the message. It's like, we are here, We're
- 1:59Speaker 1: here to fight.
- 2:00Speaker 6: And like I said, it's one swing and it's hard
- 2:02Speaker 6: to explain.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It's a feeling. You catch that ball right and it's
- 2:05Speaker 1: like there it is. Your Pasha's there.
- 2:07Speaker 6: Your timing is there, the decision that you made, you
- 2:10Speaker 6: trusted it, and you executed the plan.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And then you saw the Phillies bats not only pick
- 2:15Speaker 1: up but add on. They put on some runs.
- 2:18Speaker 6: And we always talk about this whole postseason how important
- 2:21Speaker 6: it is to keep pressure.
- 2:22Speaker 1: They kept adding pressure.
- 2:23Speaker 6: But it started with that swing right there, and oh
- 2:26Speaker 6: my gosh, I was there when g hit the ball.
- 2:28Speaker 6: Out the stadium to left field. Wow, this is impressive.
- 2:32Speaker 6: The right field that is deep and way back there.
- 2:35Speaker 4: When asked about the Phillies and the road trip, how
- 2:37Speaker 4: they were feeling because of all the tension from that
- 2:40Speaker 4: Game two loss, they said, we played a lot of
- 2:42Speaker 4: cards on the plane.
- 2:43Speaker 5: We were laughing, we were having a good time. And
- 2:46Speaker 5: you noticed those top three batters.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Not only were they having success, they were having success
- 2:51Speaker 4: in the zone that didn't happen in Philadelphia.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah, for some reason, great hitters, a team that was
- 2:56Speaker 2: top two in batting average. I know batting average gets
- 2:59Speaker 2: overlooked in the regular season, but that means you're getting hits.
- 3:02Speaker 2: When you get hits, that means runners are on base
- 3:03Speaker 2: and that gives you a chance.
- 3:04Speaker 1: To score runs.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Well, they weren't getting the hits in the first two games,
- 3:08Speaker 2: but in this game they got balls that were in
- 3:10Speaker 2: the play on the plate and took advantage of it.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Of course, you don't want to chase balls out of the.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Zone, but when you miss out of the zone, take
- 3:17Speaker 1: those pitches. Finally get a pitch in the zone.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Those were the pitches they were missing in Game one.
- 3:23Speaker 2: In Game two tonight, that ball's middle middle that's a
- 3:26Speaker 2: ball that's depositive life.
- 3:27Speaker 1: We saw Schwarver do all season long.
- 3:29Speaker 2: That's a ball that's middle middle to Harper and he's
- 3:32Speaker 2: able to take it the other way. Again, balls that
- 3:34Speaker 2: they were foul tipping just missing, these are strikes.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Those are the.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Pitches you have to hit.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Kevin Long and one, two and three in their lineup
- 3:42Speaker 2: made some adjustments we talked about. They might have been
- 3:45Speaker 2: in between pitches. They just had to switch their sites
- 3:47Speaker 2: a little bit. And whatever they ended up doing in
- 3:49Speaker 2: the batt and cage Man on the off day on
- 3:52Speaker 2: the plane playing cards, yep, was a key at a.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Time, I'll tell you.
- 3:55Speaker 7: Also, what might have been a big adjustment is the
- 3:59Speaker 7: timing of the games.
- 4:01Speaker 3: See they were waiting.
- 4:03Speaker 7: These two guys, especially Hardper and Shober, can easily lose
- 4:08Speaker 7: their timing when they're not playing consistent baseball, when they're
- 4:12Speaker 7: not consistently taking those a bat, And it doesn't matter
- 4:16Speaker 7: how much you practice with a different team.
- 4:18Speaker 3: It's not the real deal.
- 4:21Speaker 7: I think the fact that they have been able to
- 4:24Speaker 7: play back to back games I think helped them a lot,
- 4:28Speaker 7: and you could see very different swings not only from
- 4:31Speaker 7: the two top dog but everybody else seemed to be better.
- 4:36Speaker 7: Toner Tourner seemed to be different today.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Yeah, and think about who they were up against. This
- 4:41Speaker 5: is Yamamodo.
- 4:42Speaker 4: He hadn't let up a run for twenty seven innings
- 4:45Speaker 4: before that.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And he stopped.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Was chrisp too, especially with that.
- 4:51Speaker 6: I know we all noticed how patient the Phillies batters were.
- 4:54Speaker 1: They weren't chasing, they were looking.
- 4:56Speaker 6: They were hunting pitches to hit, not just because it
- 4:59Speaker 6: was there, not just because it was a strike. It
- 5:01Speaker 6: was this is a ball I can hit. Rocherta said,
- 5:03Speaker 6: you didn't miss it. We saw them being patient taking
- 5:06Speaker 6: that curveball that just that is just below the strike zone.
- 5:09Speaker 6: And we have to give credit to these umpires this
- 5:10Speaker 6: whole series. These umpires have called perfect strikes, meaning they're
- 5:14Speaker 6: not calling pitches off the plate just because it's up there.
- 5:17Speaker 6: Adrian did in game to a little bit. We'll call
- 5:19Speaker 6: it what it is. But for the most part, they've
- 5:22Speaker 6: they've catched, they've kept the pitchers over the plate, and
- 5:25Speaker 6: the Phillies finally made that adjustment tonight.
- 5:27Speaker 1: We're hunting our pitches.
- 5:28Speaker 6: And Schwerber when he got is, he didn't mid he
- 5:30Speaker 6: didn't miss and the other guys.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Along the way. They were taking their singles.
- 5:34Speaker 6: It was beautiful to see them get hits, not try
- 5:37Speaker 6: to be hero ball, and it worked out tonight.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Phillies fans have been wondering in the first two games,
- 5:41Speaker 4: why have we not seen Suarez yet? This is the
- 5:44Speaker 4: first game in fourteen postseason games that the Dodgers scored
- 5:48Speaker 4: less than four runs. They had a streak that was
- 5:51Speaker 4: tied with the seventy seventy one Orioles. They go from
- 5:55Speaker 4: Nola to Suarez. First pitch home run, We're going, oh no,
- 5:59Speaker 4: what's happening? And then ranger Suarez became playing playoff ranger
- 6:03Speaker 4: and did the damn thing.
- 6:05Speaker 7: And the guy has just it's just cold blooded killer.
- 6:09Speaker 7: He has eyes on his veins.
- 6:11Speaker 3: It's like, I mean, you you wanna you want to have.
- 6:14Speaker 7: A perfect attitude for the biggest game you ever have.
- 6:17Speaker 7: This is the guy that has it. His presence on
- 6:20Speaker 7: the mound makes you relax. Actually, as a teammate if
- 6:24Speaker 7: you're playing behind him, it's lovely because he's gonna keep
- 6:27Speaker 7: a good pace to what he does.
- 6:28Speaker 5: He puts the.
- 6:29Speaker 7: Ball in play, he gets a lot of ground ball.
- 6:32Speaker 3: He gets us everyone.
- 6:33Speaker 7: You know, a couple of strikeouts, but this is the
- 6:36Speaker 7: perfect attitude for for a big game. And I was wondering,
- 6:40Speaker 7: why not Ranger? Why not Reranger? Even though Nola also
- 6:45Speaker 7: has that kind of presence on the mound, but the
- 6:48Speaker 7: effectiveness that you know, and especially against the Dodgers lineup, I.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Think Renger would have would.
- 6:55Speaker 7: Have been a better matchup against the Dodgers lineup than
- 6:59Speaker 7: than Nola would have been. But once again, the strategy
- 7:03Speaker 7: from Rubb may have been the right one, and I think.
- 7:07Speaker 6: That works out even better because now No only through
- 7:09Speaker 6: two winnings, the Phillies gonna win.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Tomorrow Nolah's becomes available again.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Yeah, the way I haven't been in the book, but
- 7:16Speaker 3: the way.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Before tonight, and you know, everybody's on deck. You don't
- 7:18Speaker 6: say I'm not pitching because I'm not good out the.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Book pay Jimmy Day five.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Everybody's on deck, all hands on deck.
- 7:24Speaker 5: You're just gonna get Phillies the game for a win
- 7:26Speaker 5: like that.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I said, if they get gotcha here, it's a big If.
- 7:31Speaker 6: I'm not playing, I don't count anybody.
- 7:34Speaker 4: It's well, now it sets up interesting because now it's
- 7:37Speaker 4: going to be Sanchez and they're reporting it's going to
- 7:39Speaker 4: be glass now. But we saw the effectiveness of Sanchez
- 7:42Speaker 4: in Game one. And I also think the conversation now
- 7:47Speaker 4: goes to the Dodgers locker room. All those questions about
- 7:49Speaker 4: the top of the lineup for the Phillies. They came
- 7:51Speaker 4: out and smashed tonight. But now when you look at
- 7:54Speaker 4: the series and the statistics, you look at Otanian Freeman,
- 7:58Speaker 4: they are combined three for two three with ten K's Suddenly,
- 8:02Speaker 4: now the pressure slides over, and the pressure could be heavy.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It can be, but you're the Dodgers.
- 8:08Speaker 6: You understand you plan against a good team, and everybody
- 8:11Speaker 6: understands they're planning against a good team.
- 8:13Speaker 1: It's hard to sweep regardless.
- 8:15Speaker 6: Look, you're not gonna win every game. Your job is
- 8:17Speaker 6: to win the series, even if it goes to Game five.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Your job is to win is to win the series.
- 8:22Speaker 6: You think show he doesn't want to hit. You think
- 8:24Speaker 6: that he doesn't know Freddy doesn't want to hit.
- 8:26Speaker 1: He doesn't know.
- 8:27Speaker 6: They're gonna come out even more determined. And it's hard
- 8:30Speaker 6: to imagine this, but sometimes you don't mean to take
- 8:32Speaker 6: your foot off the gas. It's just you're so much
- 8:35Speaker 6: control the urgency isn't there. And we saw the urgency
- 8:37Speaker 6: on the other side and that show tonight, and.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I think the big thing, you know, we talked about six, seven, eight,
- 8:43Speaker 2: ninth inning of the game where the Dodgers have been
- 8:45Speaker 2: doing what they've done right tonight they didn't get anything.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Their credit to the Phillies pitching staff for doing that.
- 8:50Speaker 2: But it's those first few winnings where they haven't scored
- 8:52Speaker 2: any runs until just a little bit tonight, that's gonna
- 8:55Speaker 2: be the question mark. And it's one through nine, not
- 8:57Speaker 2: just the top names you talked about. They got to
- 8:59Speaker 2: score some to score some runs early, and I think
- 9:01Speaker 2: that changes everything.
- 9:02Speaker 1: A lot.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Powder Blues that doesn't love me.
- 9:09Speaker 5: They are I'm seven and one, I'm
- 9:14Speaker 3: Well
