- 0:00It obviously I I can't remember, I don't believe it was true, but
- 0:04the idea that like that was the the pen drop, like Oh my God, it
- 0:10got the tigers like. Not the Tiger, I didn't.
- 0:15Put an. Insane story to like, that was,
- 0:17I remember like people were spreading that around.
- 0:20Like a bunch of people sent it to me.
- 0:21They're like, holy shit, it jumped to the Tigers.
- 0:25You have friends? Had.
- 0:42Welcome back guys, Episode 6 we're on episode 6 with the ever
- 0:50calculated Ryan. What?
- 0:53The always talkative Amber and your trusty navigator Justin.
- 1:06This week we're talking sex. Oh.
- 1:12Gosh. Yuckies.
- 1:14Hated it. Maybe not sex, maybe love.
- 1:20I feel like this is directed directly at me.
- 1:23I didn't say. That I need love.
- 1:24Why would you feel that you? Weren't even looking at me when
- 1:27you said. That.
- 1:29My side eye was devastating. Your side eye was side eyeing.
- 1:34Oh, it was. It was burning a hole through
- 1:36the side of my face. And I don't mean love like
- 1:39companionship. It can mean that if you want it
- 1:41to mean that, but I mean it like.
- 1:44Dogs give love too. Yeah, Pints for Paws.
- 1:48Get yourself an adoptee. I've had many, many, many in my
- 1:53life, and even though this one next to me won't stop licking
- 1:57the inside of his thigh 24 hours a day, it has.
- 2:01A skin condition. Yeah, me too.
- 2:03You don't see me licking it. Chance.
- 2:06Hey, quit it. He heard the pens.
- 2:10He did. He's.
- 2:11Like wait, no, I know that sound.
- 2:15I mean, love is like finding time for yourself and, and I
- 2:22don't mean self-care, I mean. Self love.
- 2:25Self love. Find something that you actually
- 2:28enjoy doing, not something that you feel like you should enjoy
- 2:30doing. Oh, so this is going to be a
- 2:34real episode? So.
- 2:36Wasn't planning on anybody could.
- 2:37Myself, but I love painting and I've been painting paint.
- 2:43Now, do you love painting or do you feel like you should love
- 2:46painting? No, I love painting.
- 2:47OK. I don't feel like I should love
- 2:50painting. What the fuck does that even
- 2:51mean? Well, you come from a family of
- 2:53artists. If you don't love painting,
- 2:55yeah. Who?
- 2:57Both of your incredibly artistic grandparents.
- 3:02Is my grandpa artistic or autistic?
- 3:04Both. Yeah, not to derail from it or
- 3:10get not to sound any kind of way, she's not blood.
- 3:15She's family. She's family.
- 3:17Doesn't mean it has to be blood, it's just there is an
- 3:20expectation from older generations in the family.
- 3:23No, because they never put it on me as you need to do this ever.
- 3:29Ever. My mom is very artistic, though.
- 3:33My dad is very numbers. So I'm I'm good at numbers and
- 3:39I'm good at painting and I love painting.
- 3:41Skip the generation, just like autism.
- 3:45No, everybody in my family's pretty artist.
- 3:49Artist. Artistic.
- 3:51Also your singer-songwriter nephew.
- 3:56Love him. Shout out to Dean.
- 3:57He needs to be on this podcast. OK, like tomorrow.
- 4:03Do you want to set up a guest? I I totally fine I just got to
- 4:07get another microphone for. I think you should reach out to
- 4:09him as Brownie bits media not as awesome.
- 4:13You're like, hey, we're gonna have you on the podcast and when
- 4:15he shows up, it's just us, 'cause he does not know we live
- 4:17here because he doesn't. Know, yeah.
- 4:19That'd be so. Funny, I think that would be
- 4:20great. I'm.
- 4:22Like what up, bud? As of right now we don't have
- 4:25any episodes posted so. That's fine, that's OK.
- 4:30But we're on. Episode number.
- 4:31Whatever. Yeah, no, I mean, we could do
- 4:35that. Or I could ask him, 'cause he is
- 4:37touring, but he's very artistic it.
- 4:42Is artistic, That's what I. Was going to say.
- 4:45So do you feel that you need to have a love for the outdoors and
- 4:52the ranch life? No.
- 4:55You don't feel that you need to. No, he has a love for
- 4:58videography. Yeah.
- 5:01I know I'm asking. Him.
- 5:03Oh, sorry. Don't interrupt a therapist.
- 5:06I think what's I have a love of the outdoors, I enjoy helping
- 5:15out on the farm, but I wouldn't say I love doing it, if that
- 5:19makes sense. You don't love the lifestyle.
- 5:21No, it it's not that I don't love the lifestyle.
- 5:24I would definitely enjoy it, but I don't think that would be a
- 5:27passion of mine. Like a calling.
- 5:30Yeah, I don't think it would be a calling.
- 5:34I enjoy doing it because I'm with family and because I get
- 5:37that additional time with family.
- 5:39So that's very much I think, I think where it is is I love
- 5:45spending time with family. So that is more of the love than
- 5:54the actual like farm work. But any, any place that I'm
- 6:00actually able to spend time with family, I think would be
- 6:03considered an enjoyment for me, no matter what it is.
- 6:09And you chose to leave the ranch life.
- 6:15I wasn't ever in the ranch life. It was just kind of that's what
- 6:18the family business is. Not even that kind kind of, but
- 6:22not even that because my mom and dad, my my mom is like ACPA and
- 6:28does a bunch of other stuff. That's right.
- 6:29My dad is a teacher principal. So like neither of them were
- 6:37ever technically on the farm life.
- 6:40We went down and visited family and helped on the farm and and
- 6:44helped butcher and and do chores and all of that stuff.
- 6:48But we never that was never our lifestyle.
- 6:51It was grandpa and uncle. Grandpa, Uncle, uncle.
- 6:55Yeah. So like.
- 6:57Your dad broke the cycle. We're a legend.
- 7:02My, my yeah, sure, my grandpa's family all were farmers, but my
- 7:09grandma, I think we're more country rather than specifically
- 7:15farmers. She she grew up closer to a what
- 7:22it it's a, it is a considered a city now, but it's it was a
- 7:26town. She was more urban is where she
- 7:30initially grew up and then moved in into more of the rural area.
- 7:37OK. Your parents wanted to mold
- 7:41mines more than they wanted to sow seeds.
- 7:45Yeah, I guess. Yeah, I guess you could say
- 7:46that. I thought that was pretty good.
- 7:48Yeah. Jesus.
- 7:49Mines like mines or mines like coal mines?
- 7:52Mines. Mines with ADI thought.
- 7:55You meant coal mines. I was like, you are just
- 7:58everywhere. That's what that's what love is.
- 8:02It's everywhere. What do you love?
- 8:06That's a great question. I think they'll save that for
- 8:11another episode. No, no, we're not doing that.
- 8:18You. Said you said a calling and that
- 8:21that did strike a chord. I'll come back to the love
- 8:24thing. I will, I promise.
- 8:26The calling thing struck A chord.
- 8:28I do have a calling. I've never attempted it because
- 8:33I can't do the class work for it, unfortunately.
- 8:39And I know this for a fact because I've had these
- 8:42situations happen in my life where you need to step up and
- 8:46act immediately and be the person that everybody looks to
- 8:51when everybody else is frozen in time because something insane
- 8:56just happened. And it's more often than not I'm
- 9:01the one that's looked to or immediately, what are you going
- 9:05to do? And it's always, I'm not frozen,
- 9:09I'm fully in slow motion and I'm figuring out what to do
- 9:13immediately. And I know I would be an amazing
- 9:16EMT. 100%. A medic in the military.
- 9:21Unfortunately, I'm built for military life.
- 9:24I just can't do it. But what do you love?
- 9:30That's what I mean. I I know what my calling is.
- 9:33Not what you're calling. Is but I don't I don't love that
- 9:38I don't I don't know what I love.
- 9:40I love me. I love peace.
- 9:43I love quiet. I love.
- 9:44Not me. Yeah, I love you, but goodness.
- 9:54I love peace and quiet. I love nature honestly more than
- 9:58anything. I love animals more than
- 10:00anything. I love fantasizing about the end
- 10:07of the world and. Being and then we took a left.
- 10:11Turn one of the last around and I don't.
- 10:15It doesn't have to be cataclysmic, it just happens to
- 10:18be that something happened and I'm like one of the last.
- 10:21I don't know. Like homesteading?
- 10:23Well, not even that like homesteading is cool.
- 10:25I'd love to do that. I plan to do that in the next
- 10:27couple of years, but I don't like I I think homesteading for
- 10:32me isn't like I want to do that because it's my calling.
- 10:35I want to do that because fuck the government.
- 10:37I. Mean that's fair enough.
- 10:39That's why I love homesteading. It's like I I don't like your
- 10:42system or your games, so I'm not going to play your game.
- 10:46I'm going to make my own game and I'm going to make it as hard
- 10:49as possible for you to play my game.
- 10:51What are you going to call that game?
- 10:54Peace and quiet. No, I, I don't know.
- 10:59I, I love nature and animals. I, I have no other really love
- 11:05like. And that's the thing, it's not a
- 11:09calling. It's like it's something that I
- 11:12just really love to do. It's like I'll never turn down
- 11:14an opportunity to go into nature or an opportunity to like help
- 11:18an animal. Like every single time I'll be
- 11:21late to work, every time I will be, I will miss an event.
- 11:25Every time I will put myself into a dangerous position or a
- 11:31like at like disadvantage to take care of an animal every
- 11:35time. Every time.
- 11:37And that's that's it. Like I don't have any other like
- 11:41true love, nothing. But even with the even with the
- 11:45sailing, like just getting a sailboat and and disappearing
- 11:49over to Tahiti or something like that.
- 11:50Like that's not exactly a love. It's.
- 11:54Just. That's a want.
- 11:55I want to get away. I don't.
- 11:57I don't agree with the system, so I want to get out of the
- 11:59system. That makes sense.
- 12:01And it's always been a thing for me.
- 12:03I've, I've never actually had like, I love this thing other
- 12:06than nature and animals. That's it.
- 12:08That's all I got really. Baby, just kidding.
- 12:12Just bugging. Around.
- 12:12Are you saying that's sad? No.
- 12:15It sounded like you were saying, it's sad, no.
- 12:19I was saying you don't love anything but me.
- 12:22Of course you're in there. I know I was walking around
- 12:25things. I, I think that's all I got
- 12:30really. And the, the calling, I know for
- 12:32sure 100% easy, but I can never do the schooling.
- 12:36I just can't. I literally cannot take
- 12:39structured tests. Like it just doesn't work.
- 12:43And that's OK. I've come to, I've come to terms
- 12:45with that. I, I have no problem if somebody
- 12:49wants to see the potential and just, OK, we're going to throw
- 12:56you into this. All right, I'll, I'll probably
- 12:58smash it, but I, there's no way I'm going to be able to go
- 13:03through all the training. I just can't do it.
- 13:05It is a lot of training. And rightly so.
- 13:09You're, you're the guy. Like you need to be the guy
- 13:13every time. There's no, there's no time
- 13:16where you're not the guy. Like if anything happens and
- 13:19you, you end up not being the guy for whatever reason, like
- 13:23you people die. Like very bad things happen.
- 13:27Like so I, I understand that completely.
- 13:30And I, I'd never put myself in a position that would ultimately
- 13:36do more harm than good. But I have noticed like over the
- 13:39years, like from an early age, it's like, OK, we have to act
- 13:44right now. What do we do?
- 13:47And it's, I'm, I'm already on it.
- 13:48I got you. You go there, you move there,
- 13:50you get the hell out of the way. Like you do this, you do that.
- 13:54I got it. Like I don't.
- 13:56I don't scream away from blood, which is really funny because
- 14:00I'm a germaphobe. The biggest germaphobe I've ever
- 14:03met. Like if somebody was sneezing
- 14:04and having a heart attack, I'd be like, you're so screwed.
- 14:07Like you're so screwed. No, I have no problem with blood
- 14:11or or. Bottle.
- 14:15Yeah, just gore. I got no problem with any of
- 14:17that. But it's the Don't tell me you
- 14:22got Ebola. We're done.
- 14:24Like I'm not, I'm not the. Guy God, Ebola.
- 14:28I'm not the guy. We literally like we went to oh.
- 14:31This is a good one. We went to a a Halloween party
- 14:36for a friend of ours birthday and mind you, I was DD so I was
- 14:42upset because I wasn't 21 yet and whatever it's all about me,
- 14:47right? So we go to this Halloween party
- 14:50in the middle of Orlando, massive block party.
- 14:56And it's right around the time where Ebola is a thing.
- 14:59And these people like mind you, him and I are already done at
- 15:04this point. We don't want to be there like
- 15:06our friend was just not happy throughout the whole entire
- 15:09situation and we want to go home and these two people show up in
- 15:15these in this like party thing outside in hazmat suits.
- 15:22And respirators. And respirators.
- 15:24And masks like actual like visor.
- 15:27Masks or something like that and this bitch comes up to him.
- 15:34The biggest germaphobe I have ever actually met takes her
- 15:39respirator off the fake 1. Larry.
- 15:42What is that called? The gas mask.
- 15:44No, it was a, it was a respirator, but it was like for
- 15:46painting. Yeah, and she literally breathes
- 15:50on it and goes, haunts him Ebola, and then walks away.
- 15:56And he was like, no, we're done, we're going home.
- 15:58We're going home right now because fuck all of that.
- 16:01Because the other thing, I don't even think he remembers one of
- 16:05our teachers like went into a coma because she had Ebola like.
- 16:12No, I didn't remember that. Yeah.
- 16:14Jesus. Yeah.
- 16:16So one of like the English or reading teachers for Lyman
- 16:20during that time was literally like in a three or four month
- 16:23coma and was like clinically dead.
- 16:26Like they said she died and then she came back and like.
- 16:30Now was that? Well, it wasn't during the time
- 16:33because we were past that, but yeah.
- 16:36Was it actually or was that like a a rumor going around the mill
- 16:40and. Now that I'm thinking about it,
- 16:41it may have been bird flu, but she did have a thing.
- 16:44No, no, no, it was a thing. That's coming back.
- 16:46Like she was out for a very long time, was clinically announced
- 16:54dead, and then came back to teaching.
- 16:58I don't know, teachers were saying it so if it was a shit
- 17:01like. Absolutely not.
- 17:03It's insane. Is bird flu coming?
- 17:06Back yeah, I'm told that's the next big pandemic but they said
- 17:08that about like a bunch of stuff they.
- 17:10Were talking, they were talking about that during the last,
- 17:13during Biden's last like year and he ordered the culling of a
- 17:25massive amount of chickens. I heard that.
- 17:29Which is what drove egg prices through the roof because they
- 17:32were typically egg laying chickens is what the culling
- 17:37was. And you can argue left or right,
- 17:41how do you stop the next pandemic?
- 17:45But I don't it. It's literally like him leaving
- 17:49office and all of a sudden that's not a thing anymore
- 17:52though. Is it not a thing anymore or did
- 17:55the culling? Fix it.
- 17:58And I'm not arguing left to right, I'm just saying.
- 18:00I don't, I don't think it was. I don't think, I don't think
- 18:02that was ever a thing. I think that was an excuse to
- 18:06try and damage the next administration.
- 18:09That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard, and I'm not
- 18:12disagreeing, I'm just saying if that is.
- 18:14The truth. That's the.
- 18:16Craziest thing I've ever heard. On my way out I'm going to kill
- 18:20500,000 chickens. Well, that was it wasn't the
- 18:27only. Thing but like it was it was it
- 18:32wasn't like it was very specific farms.
- 18:35It was a mass just wiping out yeah, it wasn't it wasn't like
- 18:40one particular manufacturer that had this issue on those farms.
- 18:46It wasn't like if you remember during the last one it it didn't
- 18:51even start with chickens. It it spread to chickens, but it
- 18:54was what? Last one.
- 18:56The last bird flu that we had. Oh, I don't know that.
- 18:58Yeah, it it started. You're talking about COVID.
- 19:00I was like. What now?
- 19:01It started off, it started out outside of chickens and then it
- 19:04it got spread into chickens cause some of the farms that had
- 19:07those other fowl it spread its way through do.
- 19:13You remember when they said that a tiger caught COVID?
- 19:16No, you. Didn't hear about that.
- 19:17No, it was a massive thing. People were freaking out because
- 19:21then it was jumping species like over and over again.
- 19:25It obviously I I can't remember. I don't believe it was true, but
- 19:29the idea that like that was the the pen drop like Oh my God, it
- 19:35got the tigers like. Not the tiger I didn't put.
- 19:40An. Insane story to like, that was,
- 19:42I remember like people were spreading that around.
- 19:45Like a bunch of people sent it to me.
- 19:46They're like, holy shit, it jumped to the tiger.
- 19:49I. Didn't I?
- 19:50Didn't. Pay any attention during that
- 19:54whole thing. I tell you what, every morning
- 19:58when I got to work. Because I had to work through it
- 20:02all nine months your boy was in the office, it was me and
- 20:05another person and the owner would come in occasionally just
- 20:08to check on things, I guess. But out of 50 people, it was me
- 20:12and another person. We worked in separate sections
- 20:15of the office. Like she was in another building
- 20:17attached to the building and I was in the warehouse on the
- 20:20other side of the building attached to a separate building.
- 20:23So it wasn't that bad at all, like to go to work during it,
- 20:27but it was still like, this is kind of scary.
- 20:29Like just the way they hyped it up so much and how bad it seemed
- 20:33at the time. The whole world like really
- 20:35think about this. You're a 20 something year old,
- 20:39You're a young 20 year old, and the whole world just shut down.
- 20:45You've never I was there. I worked through the whole
- 20:48thing. I was in contact with 4000
- 20:50people a day. So you've never seen this in
- 20:53your life? Your parents have never seen
- 20:55this in their life. Your grandparents have never
- 20:57seen this in their life. Everybody's telling you it's the
- 21:00end of the world. It's going to.
- 21:02We're going to literally burn it down.
- 21:04It's the end of the world. And then they say you got to
- 21:09come in for your shift. Yeah.
- 21:11Do you know how, like on the psyche that is like, what are
- 21:17you talking about me? I gotta come in.
- 21:20And I'm not saying you didn't. I'm just saying like, like,
- 21:23remember, did you get that feeling?
- 21:25Work. No, I never did 'cause I was
- 21:27like, thank God I don't have to be in the house.
- 21:28You're out of your mind. Dude, I was.
- 21:31No, because it was, it was. All I saw was fear mongering.
- 21:34That's all I saw. It was just constant fear
- 21:37mongering that this was going to be so bad, this was so bad, and
- 21:42it's like we already know how to take care of coronavirus 'cause
- 21:48this is not the first strain of coronavirus we had.
- 21:51Lysol literally kills coronavirus, and it literally
- 21:55killed that strain of coronavirus.
- 21:57Do you know how serious it got in our office?
- 22:00My boss bought a battery powered industrial Fogger and he bought
- 22:09like 10/1 gallon jugs of whatever it was like not like
- 22:14Lysol like medical grade like fogging solution.
- 22:20We did do hospitals and schools and and courthouses and prisons
- 22:24and stuff. I get that.
- 22:24But I'm saying like he literally checked this out.
- 22:28He literally had me load this Fogger and when I left work
- 22:32every night before I went home, I fogged every office that
- 22:36somebody had been in for the day.
- 22:39Fogged the office literally keyboard that's light switches,
- 22:43all the doors, insane, the bathrooms, everything that
- 22:46anybody had contact with when they came in from the outside.
- 22:49I fogged it every day for like 9 months.
- 22:52That's. Insane.
- 22:52And I did that with you when you came home because I was, what's
- 22:56it called, immuno? Immunocompromised, yeah.
- 23:02But so doing that on hard surfaces is one thing 'cause
- 23:06that's insane, doing it to a living, breathing human that has
- 23:10been in contact, but that's a completely different thing.
- 23:15You're going, he was going in to hard surfaces where if the
- 23:20temperature was above I believe 70°, the the the virus could not
- 23:26survive on hard surfaces for more than like 20 minutes.
- 23:30It was a. Corporate office, they kept it
- 23:32ice cold. I'm not saying.
- 23:34No, but no, I'm saying like if it did not have direct human
- 23:37contact of a living Organism, it was it was going to eventually
- 23:43die. On that hard surface, it was
- 23:45nothing. Do you remember?
- 23:45How cold it was in the dealership.
- 23:48It wasn't always that. Cold, was it not?
- 23:50No, no. I thought it was freezing it.
- 23:52Was hot as balls sometimes. Oh OK, so so y'all kind of got
- 23:56it a little a. Little bit like.
- 23:58I wasn't there for for COVID though so.
- 24:00We were, we were a controls company which works with HVAC.
- 24:04We are literally the guys you call like to make it cold.
- 24:07So literally like monthly we had like full blown revamps of
- 24:11systems. Like we would constantly tear
- 24:13them out and put them back in like a better system every like
- 24:15monthly, all the time. And literally it was like 62° in
- 24:21the office. In every office there was one
- 24:23office. It was like all windows.
- 24:25And because it was all windows facing what is it South?
- 24:29South gets the most sun. Yeah, so all day, dude, from
- 24:328:00 in the morning until 5, she just cooked in this office.
- 24:36Dude, it was like 80° in this office year round and I could
- 24:40not help her. She's like what?
- 24:41What do I have to do? Who do I have to talk to?
- 24:44Who do I have to fight to get some air in this office?
- 24:46I'm like, dude, I've pumped in a 9 inch duct in your office.
- 24:49You're the only one with a 9 inch duct.
- 24:52I can't bring in any colder in here.
- 24:54Shut the blinds like, and she did.
- 24:55She shut them constantly. It still was 80° in that office
- 24:59anyway. To put it in perspective, the
- 25:03dealership that we were at and also like where he was at
- 25:10specifically was one either outside trying to get people to
- 25:15buy cars, which is hot 'cause it's Florida, or two, he was in
- 25:21a cubicle that literally had windows everywhere.
- 25:26Like in the cubicles there were windows in the seats where he
- 25:30was doing deals, windows like windows everywhere.
- 25:35So the only time that it was actually like freezing cold was
- 25:39in the morning. And correct me if I'm wrong, but
- 25:42you mostly did mid shifts to late night shifts.
- 25:46No, I did all of them because they did.
- 25:48They did rotations. There was three teams and they
- 25:51did rotations, so each team got the same amount or roughly about
- 25:56'cause it was based off of the month I.
- 25:59Rarely saw you in the mornings, but then again I wasn't paying
- 26:02attention 'cause we weren't besties then.
- 26:05But. No, it was.
- 26:07I had the same amount of morning shifts.
- 26:09There were. Oh yeah, there were several days
- 26:11where I did a morning shift and then ended up having a deal or
- 26:16two. But you'd stay late.
- 26:18And I would, and maybe that's what it is.
- 26:19So yeah, I was, I was one of the guys that did not care what time
- 26:23it was. I would take an up.
- 26:24But what I was saying though, is like it was colder in the
- 26:28mornings than it was midday. So when you're walking in, when
- 26:34nobody's there, it is freezing cold like when you guys did
- 26:38balloons. I don't think it was ever
- 26:40freezing cold to me, but it was it was definitely cooler in the
- 26:44mornings than it was after. It well, you're from.
- 26:46Wisconsin. So you're the Wiscotia boys.
- 26:48So it it literally anything? Anything anything above what?
- 26:56I yes, OK. Fair I.
- 26:59Wore shorts until it was like 42° out and then I would
- 27:03consider putting pants. On out of your mind.
- 27:05No, if it's under like 68° pants all day.
- 27:10I I specifically remember wearing shorts after it snowed
- 27:15and being like, yeah, it's nice out, yeah.
- 27:17But that's Wisconsin weather or not Florida.
- 27:20But no, like that's still though.
- 27:22Like yeah, I understand. Where you're coming, you're so
- 27:25brave and strong. Yes, I know.
- 27:26Thank you. I just want somebody to
- 27:28recognize it. Anywho, I didn't think it was
- 27:32ever that like freezing cold, but then again I was constantly
- 27:35moving. So like that's I'm not a good
- 27:39person to judge the temperature off of 'cause with me and I, I
- 27:43was much heavier back then. I had a lot more fat on me back
- 27:48then than I do right now. But I also think I have iron
- 27:53deficiency too, so. I do I'm.
- 27:57Always cold. I I do have iron deficiency but
- 28:01I think it's just because I had more fat.
- 28:05Oh. You think you have an iron
- 28:06deficiency? No, I do.
- 28:07You eat. So much red meat.
- 28:09No, I I know, but I don't know why.
- 28:11At at least I did in in college, so it may be now.
- 28:17When you when you were vegan. Because no, they tested me and I
- 28:20I was not allowed to give blood. Wow.
- 28:24Because of iron deficiency. I'm not allowed to give blood,
- 28:27but that's just because I don't weigh enough.
- 28:30They never took my blood because I had tattoos every three
- 28:32months. Well, that.
- 28:33Too literally like a tattoo every three months for years and
- 28:36they were like Nope, sorry, can't do it.
- 28:40I was like alright, I won't get a free movie ticket.
- 28:43Jesus. But yeah, now like I during the
- 28:48whole shutdown thing, 'cause they actually we were required
- 28:52to shut down for the two weeks where?
- 28:55Are you at the? Dealership.
- 28:56No. Oh, OK.
- 28:57No, I had left at that point. I was working at a car wash.
- 28:59Actually I was. I was one of the people that
- 29:05were training like new sales people at the car wash.
- 29:11So I had to be there because I was one of the best salespeople
- 29:17they had. So they were like, yeah, we're
- 29:19not going to let him go. And then they didn't give me a
- 29:21raise and I bitched and complained about that.
- 29:25As you should. Yeah, I was like.
- 29:27You're, you're making me come in and you're going to take away
- 29:29my, my Commission like so I stopped selling.
- 29:34My numbers went down during that time because I was like, well,
- 29:38if I'm going to be making the same, if I sell or not, then I'm
- 29:40not going to try. And that's actually where I met
- 29:44Lou Holtz. Not Lou Holtz, Lee Corso, That's
- 29:48who it was. Lee Corso would come through our
- 29:50car wash. All the time, Corso.
- 29:52A a dude that does college football like analysis on ESPN.
- 30:01So we knew of Corso in high school.
- 30:04Didn't he go to NFL? I have no idea.
- 30:06We see a fighter. I can't remember.
- 30:07No idea. I remember the last name there.
- 30:09Might play football in weight lifting.
- 30:11His first name started with an A.
- 30:13There might be some relation to this dude.
- 30:16None of us knew first names. Austin Corson.
- 30:21Oh, OK, I say none of us knew first names.
- 30:24I literally still don't know the first names of half the guys on
- 30:26the team. The only person that I know like
- 30:29to this day, no, I'm not even gonna say it.
- 30:33No one. So I know the people at home
- 30:36can't see, but we're watching 6 hours fantastic views of Earth
- 30:404K with relaxation music on mute.
- 30:43And I'm watching a drone operator scare some goats on the
- 30:46side of a mountain. So watch the goats, they're
- 30:49moving, and then as soon as the drone gets overhead, what the
- 30:55hell is that? What the hell is that noise?
- 30:58They all stop moving and just start.
- 31:00Like what the hell is that? Why are they up there?
- 31:04'Cause that's where they. Live I know what are they doing
- 31:07but. No, I never, I never had that.
- 31:10I was more mad at the whole situation because the company
- 31:15was basically screwing us for and requiring us to come in.
- 31:20I mean. Making so much money too.
- 31:22Oh yeah, Like what was their gross?
- 31:24I, I don't know, 'cause I never, I never was allowed to, to look
- 31:31into that because they railroaded me out of the
- 31:34managerial position. I get.
- 31:36I just I googled my stuff. Yeah, I just.
- 31:38All the companies I've worked for, I've found out how much
- 31:40they make and what they're worth because it's something you bring
- 31:43to the table. Hey man, you guys make a billion
- 31:45dollars a year. You could give me a $0.35 raise.
- 31:48It's insane that you even have to question.
- 31:50It like they took away, they raised my pay hourly because
- 31:55they took away my Commission, but they didn't raise it enough.
- 31:58I was like, this is not OK. Yeah, I'm making way more now
- 32:02than I was ever there, which is insane to think about.
- 32:06I mean, everybody's always said the servers make the most money.
- 32:10They really do. They really do I've.
- 32:11Heard that too if if we take away tax.
- 32:13On tips, I'm not talking about tips, I'm talking about my
- 32:18hourly pay. I'm making way more now than I
- 32:20ever did there. That's.
- 32:21Crazy for a again, they're both laborious, but the car wash
- 32:27compared to what you're at now I I would assume that the car wash
- 32:30was more labor intensive. No.
- 32:32You're outside, you're in the heat.
- 32:35But I was a salesperson. Were you not outside?
- 32:37I was outside but I was a sales. I mean that I was.
- 32:41I mean my. Specific job was literally to
- 32:43stand either by the kiosk or wait for people to come in to
- 32:47get their interiors done and sell them a package of of wash.
- 32:51And that was my only job. I never vacuumed.
- 32:54I never, I mean I ran the the tunnel from time to time because
- 32:58during COVID we had to do the rotation and stuff.
- 33:01But I never was physically drying the cars physically
- 33:05vacuuming the cars physically. So definitely not as no.
- 33:09So I was literally standing there waiting for the next car.
- 33:13Your pay increase makes sense. So the the one that I worked
- 33:16for, I think they were doing like 25 mill a year when I
- 33:20looked at it. And it was like the third year
- 33:23in a row where not just me, but like the entire company except
- 33:27for like 4 or 5 high execs. They got bonuses and raises
- 33:32every year. But it like every other person
- 33:34in the country company like 150 people.
- 33:36They're like, sorry, can't do it this year.
- 33:38We didn't hit our numbers. So we're gonna give you. 3 brand
- 33:42new TV's and then we're gonna do all of these different like not
- 33:48bingos what are they called the ticket things we're going to
- 33:51ticket prizes for you guys and like all of those prizes were
- 33:58probably what. 10 grand, a couple grand.
- 34:00Yeah, they would. They would write it off where
- 34:03they would buy equipment for the company and then they would
- 34:07raffle off the prizes at the Christmas party.
- 34:09Raffle. That's and that was your, that
- 34:11was your bonus and it wasn't guaranteed because you literally
- 34:13had to have a raffle winning ticket.
- 34:15That's crazy dude. People were pissed.
- 34:18I know one year my dad got a red.
- 34:20Semen, the other thing. Sorry to cut you off.
- 34:22That was his bonus. Really.
- 34:24Quick I I can't believe he didn't go in and lose his mind.
- 34:27The other thing was those raffle tickets, they put them as like 2
- 34:35different things. So you, because I went to these
- 34:39parties with him, you would get drink cards quote UN quote.
- 34:45And so the first part of that raffle ticket was your drink
- 34:50card. So you would RIP it off and then
- 34:51hold off that raffle and whatever the bottom part was,
- 34:56that was your raffle ticket and then you'd get 2 free drinks.
- 35:00So technically it was probably more than 10 grand because it's
- 35:06now an A quote UN quote, open bar or cash.
- 35:10Bar whatever. Oh, no, no, no.
- 35:12That's what I'm saying. If you want to include the
- 35:13venue. The venue too.
- 35:15The venue was 10 grand minimum. Yeah, a loan, yeah, minimum.
- 35:20And then they gave you those drink cards.
- 35:22So it was 2 drinks per person, and I don't remember if it was
- 35:27you only had to do house drinks, but like you had two drinks.
- 35:33So call it what, $10 each ticket per person, right?
- 35:39So that's $20 a person. How many people were there?
- 35:42300 people. I think, yeah, it's some of the
- 35:46bigger parties, yeah, close to. The boat.
- 35:48Yeah, would they rented the boat alone?
- 35:50They rented the Saint Mary right there.
- 35:54And then they did all of these cash prizes and then they did
- 35:59these or not cash prizes, but the, the prizes that you'd won
- 36:03at the raffle. And then going back to something
- 36:06that we won together or his dad won and he gave it to us was
- 36:13they did a, a national lampoon Christmas party.
- 36:17Yep. And.
- 36:19These people. Dad got an ice tray that had the
- 36:25little moose antler things and then if not his dad then us or
- 36:31vice versa or whatever ended up getting the moose drink set as
- 36:40one of the gifts, did you? Hear what she just said.
- 36:42That was it. So they rented the venue for 10
- 36:45grand, well maybe more. And then they would give you 2
- 36:48drink tickets, not an open bar. And then the prizes that you won
- 36:53were a National Lampoon, Ice Tray and drink set.
- 36:58No bonus. I didn't get a bonus for three
- 37:01years. That's sorry.
- 37:02Excuse me? Not a bonus, a raise.
- 37:05Yeah, a raise. Not even a bonus.
- 37:07A raise. They gave nobody a raise for
- 37:10three years. Not, yeah, not just him, but
- 37:12insane. Nobody got a raise, nobody got a
- 37:16bonus. And not even to like go into
- 37:19somebody that's not even in this podcast, but like your dad did
- 37:24so much work for that company. So they they started doing
- 37:30employee of the year. Yeah, like 2016 I.
- 37:33Think, Oh my God, even that included in those things too
- 37:36'cause it was during the Christmas party.
- 37:37Yes, so, Oh my God, the very first ever employee of the year
- 37:44for 20 years. He's been there for 20 years.
- 37:47The very first employee of the year.
- 37:49He got the award, still didn't get a race.
- 37:53Yeah, it was a plaque. It was a plaque.
- 37:56I could not believe it. Man, I I was so proud of.
- 37:58Him I was. So proud.
- 38:00Of him, not a I'm going to take you out to lunch for the year.
- 38:04No, nothing like that. It's a plaque that had your name
- 38:07on it that said you were the employee of the year, not how
- 38:10many years you worked not oh, good job.
- 38:13This, that and the other is a it was just plaque.
- 38:16And I'm so, so, so incredibly proud of him for even a company
- 38:21that toxic that he was the one to win the award.
- 38:24He, he was the guy. Was he the.
- 38:27First one up, yes was. That at the horse race or the
- 38:30dog races. At the dog track.
- 38:33That was your first. Christmas party?
- 38:35No, no, no. They had Christmas parties for
- 38:3720 years. But that was the first time they
- 38:39did the. Very first employee that.
- 38:41Time that he got it was the first time, yes, I was there.
- 38:45And everybody, like, they were so adamant.
- 38:48They're like, if this award does not go to JB, we'll riot, yeah.
- 38:51They're like we've been telling. You for 20 years this guy is
- 38:54holding this company up with his shoulders so.
- 38:57I think that was the first one that I went to and I thought you
- 39:01guys had done that forever. No, never ever had an employee
- 39:06of the year. That was the first one.
- 39:07Holy shit. Everybody was like, if he
- 39:10doesn't get the award, we'll riot.
- 39:12We'll throw things out the window.
- 39:14Before we used to have Christmas parties.
- 39:17This is how degenerate this company was.
- 39:21They used to rent out the dog track, the gambling house for
- 39:25horses and dogs. That's where they did their
- 39:27Christmas party. This was.
- 39:28Before they canceled out all the dogs and all the.
- 39:31Dogs. As a young kid, I thought that
- 39:33was incredible. Like, this is the coolest thing
- 39:36ever. I'm not.
- 39:37I'm barely old enough to even be in this place and my company is
- 39:41holding a Christmas party here. This is so cool.
- 39:44Later on in life I realized that's the saddest thing I've
- 39:47ever heard. Yeah.
- 39:48Holy God. What do you mean multiple?
- 39:51Not one? Dude, for years they went back
- 39:54to that place. For years they held a company
- 39:57Christmas party at the dog track.
- 39:59Couldn't believe that place anyway.
- 40:02Yeah. So the entire time I was there,
- 40:07I didn't get a technical raise ever until I.
- 40:13At the car wash, yeah. Yeah, I, I finally, I put my
- 40:19foot down and told one of my managers who then made a fuss
- 40:23about it to the higher ups because so for instance, so I
- 40:32would help train the regional trainers on different things
- 40:37that corporate would send down and teach them how to go about
- 40:43doing those things with different people.
- 40:45So they would come to me to get like work done as far as how to
- 40:52do these different implementations.
- 40:54And then I, I had one trainer, regional trainer in particular
- 40:58that would come to me to work on her sales pitch because I, I
- 41:04have quite a bit of sales experience going all the way
- 41:08from very hard sales to the softest sales possible where if
- 41:13they even just then you're done. No more, you're not even trying
- 41:17to push anymore. So I did that.
- 41:22I worked at different locations, help different people.
- 41:25When I moved to the location closer to my house, I instantly
- 41:32came in. I was about halfway through the
- 41:35month when I moved and I was within the week.
- 41:38I was already higher than the highest salesperson there with
- 41:42the numbers. Why is it selling memberships?
- 41:44I'd already passed her and she wasn't very happy by that, but
- 41:49everybody was like, oh this dude is legit like whatever.
- 41:53And I helped train the managers of that location on how to make
- 41:59their sales better and how to overcome objections and that
- 42:03type of stuff without being pushy, you know?
- 42:05But no raise. But no.
- 42:06Raise. And it got to the point where I
- 42:08told one of the managers the number 2 dude, I told him I was
- 42:13like dude, like I've been quiet quitting for the last three
- 42:16years. Like literally doing the bare
- 42:18minimum. It's like, Can you imagine what
- 42:22my sales would be if I actually tried?
- 42:24He comes back with. That's why we didn't give you a
- 42:26raise. We knew.
- 42:27No, but I was like, dude, I was like, I haven't gotten anything.
- 42:31I, I've been told for the last three years that I was going to
- 42:34get this management position and blah blah blah blah blah and
- 42:36this go through the training process to become a manager of
- 42:39my own. Location.
- 42:40I hate that. And then never got it.
- 42:43And then I got moved to this location to finally get it done.
- 42:49And then I get here and the week after I get told, Oh yeah,
- 42:52you're not going through the management program 'cause we
- 42:55didn't get your buck ordered. And that is the only reason I
- 42:59was like really bowl. So I just.
- 43:02I stopped even trying for obvious reasons.
- 43:05You just got to do better, Ryan. Yeah, you just got to do better,
- 43:09Camber. I told him like I was like.
- 43:11I was like, I told him that. I was like, dude, I've been
- 43:13quite quitting for two years. Can you imagine if I actually
- 43:16tried what it would look like? I was like, you have seen what I
- 43:21do here. This is my bare minimum.
- 43:25And he went in and I was like, I haven't ever gotten a raise
- 43:29here. Never once while I watch other
- 43:33people get raises. Like, literally.
- 43:35Hearing people get raises. And he went in and made a fuss
- 43:38and they were like, oh, we didn't realize that.
- 43:40Oh, no. And I came back in that next
- 43:44week after they said, yeah, we gave you the raise.
- 43:46Don't worry. We're we apologize for it taking
- 43:48this long. I came back in after they gave
- 43:50me a $0.25 raise. Nope.
- 43:53And I, I told him I was like, I'm not doing anything extra.
- 43:58And I told him how much and he flipped his lid like just went
- 44:03off. And I heard him yelling at the
- 44:06regional manager, his boss. He was screaming at his boss.
- 44:11I heard him through the door of the office outside.
- 44:15I was standing outside. They were he was in there giving
- 44:18him the business about that bullshit.
- 44:22And then it turned out a little like literally, I think it was
- 44:26like 2 weeks later, I had enough because of some other bullshit
- 44:32with somebody else, some another one of the managers that I
- 44:37actually, she was the one that got the manager in training over
- 44:41me and she was the one that was the highest salesperson at that
- 44:45location. Until I got this on the podcast,
- 44:48did we? No.
- 44:49Oh, just kidding. It was.
- 44:50It was during the trial episodes.
- 44:53Oh. Yeah, but yeah.
- 44:56Amber it. Was.
- 44:59I had passed her and she resented me for it just because
- 45:06she was. That's OK.
- 45:08Out shown, you know, whatever. That's enough feelings.
- 45:11Yeah, whatever, doesn't matter. But when you start taking it
- 45:14out, you start taking it out on a a person that is underneath of
- 45:20you. That's where the issue is.
- 45:22And she gave me the tunes even though I had done a bunch of
- 45:28closing one night. Like I did every single closing
- 45:31requirement. And then she was pissed off at
- 45:34me that I wasn't in the tunnel cleaning with them because I was
- 45:39finishing up the closing duties and I was doing everything.
- 45:44And that night I walked home. I ended up leaving early.
- 45:48I just set my stuff down and just clocked out.
- 45:50After 14 hours. No, no, This was this was a
- 45:53normal shift. Oh, just kidding.
- 45:55That was a different. That was a different.
- 45:56OK, that's what I'm thinking we did.
- 45:57Talk about that one. Got it, got it, got it.
- 46:02I set my stuff down, clocked out, left, walked home.
- 46:06I had the next day off. I came in on the Sunday
- 46:08afterwards and I walked up to the number two.
- 46:11I was like, this is my last day. I'm done.
- 46:12Not not even, I was like, I would prefer if you don't even
- 46:15tell anybody. I was like, I know you might
- 46:18have to because I told you, but I'm telling you out of respect
- 46:21for you. I am not coming in tomorrow.
- 46:25They could call me all they want.
- 46:27They can text me, they can claim they're going to write me up.
- 46:30I'm done. Good.
- 46:31Make them fire me 'cause I'm no calling, no showing for the rest
- 46:35of the time until they choose to fire me.
- 46:37But I'm done. This is my last day.
- 46:39I don't think I've ever done that.
- 46:41Yeah, I just, I was, I and I handed over my radio and battery
- 46:46that I had purchased myself. I handed it over to him.
- 46:51I was like, here you go. Like I am literally not coming
- 46:54back. I work you had to purchase your
- 46:57own battery and handheld. No, I didn't have to.
- 47:01I chose to because the radios they had there were absolute
- 47:07garbage and nobody ever charged the battery.
- 47:12So half the time half the radios weren't even functional because
- 47:16they didn't have the batteries charged because they would just
- 47:19put them down next to the charger rather than charging
- 47:21them. So I did my own so that I would
- 47:24have a a battery and radio I've. Been there, done that bankroll
- 47:28over here. So I, I worked in a factory for
- 47:34I think like 4 hours. I, I went in and I got the
- 47:38preliminary for like a good maybe 30 minutes, maybe might
- 47:42have been 20. And I got my kit and I got my
- 47:47hair taken care of and I did what I needed to do and got like
- 47:53the garb on. And I went out to the line and I
- 47:56work like the first three hours. And in the first three hours,
- 47:59the thing almost took my finger off twice.
- 48:01I literally everybody was like all right that's lunch and they
- 48:04shut it all down for lunch. I literally walked out, put my
- 48:07garb on a hook, walked out to my truck and everyone back.
- 48:11I was like y'all are insane. I always forget about that story
- 48:15because it literally was like one day that you have nothing.
- 48:18It wasn't even a day. Yeah.
- 48:19I was like, I assume this is going to be like on the up and
- 48:22up because you're a pretty big company.
- 48:23Like you sell the high distributors like this is is a
- 48:26big deal. This is not a not a mom and pop.
- 48:29This is huge. And no, they straight up factory
- 48:31line. It'll take your fingers off.
- 48:34And I was like, Nah, that's not for.
- 48:36Me, they did something else like they only trained you for like 2
- 48:40seconds or something like that and they were like, yeah, you
- 48:42got this. I think it was supposed to be
- 48:441/2 day and it was like 20 or 30 minutes.
- 48:46And then the per that was training, you literally like
- 48:49walked away and you were like, what am I doing?
- 48:52And then they rotated. And then you're like, what am I
- 48:56supposed to do? And then like you just kind of
- 49:00like did your own thing, sort of.
- 49:03And then they're like, OK, that's lunch.
- 49:05I literally asked the person next to me who was
- 49:10linguistically challenged, they just, they didn't know the
- 49:12language and that's OK. I just, I was literally like,
- 49:15what are you doing? And she's like, do this, do
- 49:17this, do this in her own way. And I, I had to ask.
- 49:20I'm like this here. And she's like, yeah, yeah,
- 49:22yeah. I'm like, Are you sure?
- 49:24And she's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 49:25I was like, holy shit, dude. So I just stuck my hands in here
- 49:28we go. And I'm, I'm flipping trays and
- 49:30I'm moving carts and I'm running it down the conveyor.
- 49:33And literally 2 times it like caught the tip of my finger.
- 49:35I was like, Nope, that's it for me.
- 49:38Sorry, guys. I'll do the best work possible,
- 49:42but I have to be trained. I'm not losing a fingertip.
- 49:45No. For this.
- 49:46For what you're paying us. Like it ain't gonna happen.
- 49:49I think it was like what, $13.00 an hour?
- 49:51Yeah, it was something insane. It was factory work.
- 49:54So I. Factory workers, I thought, made
- 49:57a lot of money. No, unfortunately the most
- 50:01dangerous jobs do not make anything and they should.
- 50:04So the other thing was I worked for a multi billion dollar
- 50:08company, massive multiple billions of dollars and like the
- 50:14number one company like in their sector.
- 50:19And I'd been gunning for management for like, I don't
- 50:23even know like 9 or 10 months, dude.
- 50:25And it was actually disadvantage to me in the company to be
- 50:31management because if I went management, management, I'd lose
- 50:34union. I would just be management.
- 50:37So for like 9 or 10 months, dude, I was like, I want
- 50:41management every time we had a weekly meeting.
- 50:44Are are you thinking about it? Are you looking at me?
- 50:47Is there a spot? What are we doing?
- 50:50And I mean literally for months dude for like 3 months I said I
- 50:54just said fuck it I grew my beard out which is not allowed.
- 50:58You have to be clean ish shaven. Grew my beard out.
- 51:01Stop tucking the shirts in. I'll I'll wear whatever the fuck
- 51:05I want. I'm not I'm not putting in 110.
- 51:08I'm not the first in the last out angle happen.
- 51:11I did that for like 3 months and they finally realized they're
- 51:15like, oh, he was like kicking ass and they're like, Oh no, we
- 51:22should probably help. Like we should probably help
- 51:25this situation because he's probably going to leave and
- 51:27that's not good. Like so they finally came to me
- 51:31and they're like, so you want management?
- 51:33And I'm like, I literally I didn't even speak.
- 51:35I was like, dude, it's whatever. I don't care if you want to if
- 51:39you want to put me in management, I don't give a shit
- 51:41anymore. Like I've already I've already
- 51:43done this for months and you guys stonewalled and you decked
- 51:46off and I'm already in a union. So I don't care what you think.
- 51:50You can't touch me. Like I'm in literally the the
- 51:54Teamsters. You can't touch me.
- 51:56I don't care. It was like a week later, a
- 52:00buddy of mine who had made friends with like in and outside
- 52:03of work, who was a manager for long like a year before me.
- 52:07Is it buddy? It was.
- 52:09It was buddy. I love.
- 52:10Him and he was like, listen, man, if you, if you follow me,
- 52:15if you hear. Me out.
- 52:16Brother man, if you fully about face right now, in a week
- 52:20they're going to make a manager, but you have to fully about face
- 52:24like you straight up have to become what you were.
- 52:28I was like, I'm I'll I'll destroy anybody in this place.
- 52:31Like it's not a problem. I just need to have it in
- 52:33writing. I don't care.
- 52:35I'll put in 110%. I'm the first in, I'm the last
- 52:38out every time, but I have to know that it's actually coming.
- 52:41He's like, I promise, I promise. I'm your friend, like legit, he
- 52:46was my like a good friend of mine.
- 52:48He's like, I promise you if you about face 180°, I promise you
- 52:54you've got it, dude. A week later they're like,
- 52:57here's your letter, here's your, here's your stuff, here's your
- 52:59radio. I was like, was that so hard?
- 53:01Yeah. Why did I have to go through all
- 53:03that? Why did I have to show you like,
- 53:06I've done this for months and you guys just dicked around the
- 53:08whole time and now you want it? And, and by the end of it, I
- 53:11literally that was that big argument with the, the big
- 53:15honcho at the end where he was like, well, you can come back or
- 53:18I'll fire you. I was like, it's a fractured
- 53:20spine. I'm probably not coming back for
- 53:22another month. I can't even get off like
- 53:24literally physically cannot get up off the couch.
- 53:27So I'll just go ahead and quit. He's like, OK, you do whatever
- 53:32you want. I'm telling you now, like you
- 53:35got a week called HR and I'm like fuck that guy.
- 53:38Fuck this company. I'm not coming back.
- 53:41And I wish, I wish like hell I would have stayed.
- 53:44I really do. I'd have been making so much
- 53:47money. Oh my God, dude.
- 53:50My the only time that I had, because most of the the places
- 53:57I've worked hasn't been union. I've I've worked mostly smaller
- 54:02places or places that don't have unions.
- 54:05The only time I had a direct interaction with a union work
- 54:09and it was, it was wild because I don't even remember the place
- 54:13that it was at, but it was a corporation.
- 54:17And I walked in and as we were going through the job interview,
- 54:22they told me, Oh yeah, by the way, you're required to be in
- 54:26the, the, the union. If you get this entry level
- 54:29position, you're required to be in the union.
- 54:31It's like, OK, that's fine. And they're like, by the way,
- 54:37the union dues are. It was, I don't remember what it
- 54:41was, but it it sounded like now if I got told your union dues
- 54:47are $400.00 a week, it wasn't that, but that's what it sounded
- 54:51like to me at that time. It was unrealistic.
- 54:53I was like, no, I'm good. Yeah, bye.
- 54:56And I I you're requiring me to. Be in there.
- 54:58And you're taking half my paycheck to make union dues.
- 55:02No. Yeah.
- 55:03It's not worth it. Bye.
- 55:04Walked out. Unions are great to a certain
- 55:08extent. Some of them, Some of them we've
- 55:11seen in many a time in history, have become bloated.
- 55:17And what's the term? Not like corruption is the only
- 55:27way that I can like. They're the guys at the top, the
- 55:30the union leaders. They're the guys who are
- 55:32actually pulling the strings. And unfortunately, do you want
- 55:36this job or not? Yeah, I I have nothing more to
- 55:39say to you. Do you want the job or not?
- 55:41And that's yes or no, like I got nothing else.
- 55:44And they, they use that and they, they absorb that power and
- 55:48absolute power absolutely corrupts.
- 55:50And it does. And that's how, that's how
- 55:53Disney does it. You cannot get a job at Disney
- 55:57without a union. You have to be in the
- 55:58electrical, the Carpenter, the Teamsters, I'm sure there's 10
- 56:02more, but you have to be in the union.
- 56:04And that was the thing with me. I joined the, I think I joined
- 56:08the Carpenters when I went for Animal Kingdom and I was in the
- 56:12union and everything was fine. And then Disney was like, hey,
- 56:15what's this record? And I'm like oops, y'all weren't
- 56:18supposed to see that. Yeah, I don't.
- 56:21I don't have an issue with the idea of unions because it
- 56:26absolutely made working conditions better.
- 56:29It absolutely made pay better. Even if the union's corrupt,
- 56:35yeah, it absolutely it benefits the union workers 100% every
- 56:39time. But they will get taken
- 56:42advantage of if there's not some some yeah firewalls.
- 56:46Exactly. Yeah.
- 56:47And it was it. It's to a certain extent it's
- 56:51it, it becomes not worth it at a certain point.
- 56:56So to wrap up, we don't love bad bosses.
- 57:01We don't love not getting raises.
- 57:03Yeah, we don't love corrupt unions.
- 57:05We don't love corruption in general.
- 57:06We don't love corruption in general.
- 57:09Moving forward, what is Mosquito?
- 57:13What is the thing that you're going to focus on in your life
- 57:18that you would say is a love? You do it for free.
- 57:25Well, technically, clearly this, right?
- 57:32Producing content for YouTube podcasting.
- 57:37I would absolutely do this for free because I have done this
- 57:40over the last seven years. I have done this.
- 57:42And you're so brave and strong because we know podcaster is the
- 57:45hardest job on our. Yeah, but it's it's not even,
- 57:49it's not even like this is what I want to do to make all my
- 57:53money. Like if this doesn't make a cent
- 57:56and we're just doing this for the fun of it, I'm OK with that.
- 58:00Same. I want, I want to have that
- 58:03backup and do other stuff to make my money.
- 58:07This is my enjoyment. This would be my love of
- 58:12creating content because it's challenging, it's mentally
- 58:18challenging. There's a lot of different
- 58:20things you have to consider and, and work on, but at the end of
- 58:25the day, you can produce something that you're proud of
- 58:28because you put in that extra effort, you know, So this, this
- 58:34absolutely is something that I have been focusing on and will
- 58:39continue to focus on. Spoken spoken like a true
- 58:42politician. Well.
- 58:44Amber. I don't even know.
- 58:48What's something you do for free?
- 58:50For free because. Clearly, that's your love.
- 58:54For free. Priceless.
- 58:58No, just kidding. I mean I wouldn't do it for free
- 59:09but I already do it for free is like therapy for friends.
- 59:16That's good. Like helping others that need
- 59:21help when they need help, but like somebody actively like
- 59:29going and being like, hey, I need to spend like 2 hours and
- 59:33like tell you all this shit. It's like if I have the time,
- 59:37yeah, I'll help you for free. But like other people know you
- 59:42know what I mean? I do like I I would help other
- 59:48people too but like. Family and friends discount is
- 59:51free. Yeah.
- 59:54And then going back to like what I love, like I'll paint for
- 59:58free, but at some point, like I'm gonna start making money.
- 1:00:02But you will do it for free. I mean.
- 1:00:04It's your love, it's your art. But so it depends like it it
- 1:00:13depends like I. For me, I'd paint for free 100%
- 1:00:20and it's going to sound really shitty, but like if other people
- 1:00:23want things from me, like there's got to be a price.
- 1:00:27Like, you know, I don't want to feel free.
- 1:00:32I ain't no freebish, you know. Just thinking about it through
- 1:00:36the episode, I think my love my do it for free my I would
- 1:00:41actually spend money and make no money doing this dog rescue.
- 1:00:47So I thought about that. I did.
- 1:00:49I was like rescuing dogs 100%. But then I thought about it and
- 1:00:54I'm like, I don't, I don't have like personally.
- 1:01:02Like we don't have the money to just take in dogs and take care
- 1:01:06of them. Oh yeah.
- 1:01:07So at some point, like we would need to make money off of it.
- 1:01:11But like in a perfect world, like if we had all the money and
- 1:01:15everything like that, like yeah, dog rescue, 100%, I would do
- 1:01:19that for free if we had the funds.
- 1:01:21Yeah, that's my thing. I would actively work something
- 1:01:25that I hated, genuinely. Yeah, 100% to.
- 1:01:28Pay for something that loses me money to make a dog rescue.
- 1:01:33That is also the other thing too in in a kind of like perspective
- 1:01:37also is like like right now, like I am technically on a
- 1:01:42disability so I'm not working so I can do things in my quote UN
- 1:01:49quote free time as long as I'm not on my foot.
- 1:01:53Would I paint for somebody 100% like can you, can you provide
- 1:02:00the stuff that you need painted 'cause I don't, I don't have the
- 1:02:03money to paint what you need, right?
- 1:02:06So I would I would do it for free as long as like I guess
- 1:02:09compensation. The banking was there.
- 1:02:11It doesn't have to be money, but as long as there's like some
- 1:02:14sort of compensation. I get it.
- 1:02:17I think it also has to do with less about doing it for somebody
- 1:02:22else and more about doing it for yourself.
- 1:02:25So would you go out and buy the supplies just so that you could
- 1:02:31paint? Not.
- 1:02:32If I have. Not somebody, not somebody to
- 1:02:34come and buy the painting from you or you do giving it to
- 1:02:40somebody for their enjoyment. It's more just you getting the
- 1:02:43supplies to paint so that you could.
- 1:02:45Paint, if I had the money to paint for free without there
- 1:02:50being any like or percussions or whatever, absolutely I would pay
- 1:02:56for free. I've done that already for
- 1:02:57people like already. Like I did a whole, I did a
- 1:03:04whole like baby thing for like 2 of my friends and then I've paid
- 1:03:08for other people too. And then like if money, if money
- 1:03:13wasn't an issue, yeah, I would definitely do like.
- 1:03:16I'm not even, I'm, I'm strictly talking for yourself, so not
- 1:03:19even giving it to anybody else. Dog rescue and painting, Yeah.
- 1:03:24Yeah, yeah, I'll answer for her. She spends so much money on
- 1:03:27painting supplies. Oh.
- 1:03:28Painting supplies? Yeah, for.
- 1:03:29Herself. Yeah.
- 1:03:30And just paint stuff for herself.
- 1:03:32That's. What I was trying to get at
- 1:03:33because she went at it for a business.
- 1:03:35I'll answer. For her, yeah.
- 1:03:37She's got totes and totes and totes, no.
- 1:03:40I don't have totes and totes and totes.
- 1:03:41I have maybe 2 totes. It's a big toe.
- 1:03:44The big toe and then I have a tiny toe and that is it.
- 1:03:47I would call that totes and totes.
- 1:03:49And then the other thing is I am, I am trying to get into
- 1:03:53tattooing and I don't even have like a totes worth of tattooing
- 1:03:57stuff. Not yet.
- 1:03:58Not yet. And then I do also want to get
- 1:04:02into the whole like, other business aspect and there's only
- 1:04:07a little baby tote of that and a bunch of I don't wanna get into
- 1:04:13it 'cause I don't wanna talk about it, but like other things
- 1:04:16spread out around the house. Understood.
- 1:04:20So. I'm with it.
- 1:04:22If I have the funds, yeah, I'll definitely do a whole bunch of
- 1:04:27different things for myself and dogs being one of them, like
- 1:04:32we've taken in so many dogs before.
- 1:04:34So many. Yeah, and I so.
- 1:04:37Many. I can agree with that on the
- 1:04:38content creation, the video creation.
- 1:04:41Yeah, podcast creation. Because you do.
- 1:04:44That I already I already do that I might.
- 1:04:46Actively spend money. You actively spend money, yeah.
- 1:04:50But Oh my God, you're just surrounded by like, quote UN
- 1:04:53quote hoarders. No.
- 1:04:57No, but it's our, it's our happiness.
- 1:04:59Yeah, I agree. Most of the stuff I have, I use.
- 1:05:04Yeah, yeah. So it's I would not classify
- 1:05:07that as a hoarder. I just like tools.
- 1:05:10Yeah, I like having so many tools.
- 1:05:11That's all of like your hoarder things.
- 1:05:14Yeah, I have tool boxes and tool boxes and tool boxes and my
- 1:05:17whole truck's full of tools and anyway.
- 1:05:19Dad's house is. Full Dad's house is full of my
- 1:05:21tools and I I think the the wrap up here is do what do what you
- 1:05:25love. Find what you love, not what you
- 1:05:28have a calling for because that's different from what you
- 1:05:30love. Do something you'd actively
- 1:05:31spend money and know that you're not going to make a dime.
- 1:05:35Back on it and do that thing. 100%.
- 1:05:38Obviously have a backing, but do that thing.
- 1:05:41Gross. Thanks.
- 1:05:42Hated. It hated it.
- 1:05:44Hated it. Keep recording, it's a blooper.
- 1:05:48Fucking try this. That is the spiciest thing I've
- 1:05:52ever had in my life. Blood.
- 1:05:54Orange ginger beer, Ginger. Beer.
- 1:05:56It smells. It.
