The fruitfulness of the hearing of God's word depends on the receptivity and condition of the listener's heart. Jesus reveals that like soil that receives seed similarly our heart receive the incorruptible seed of God's word. We like a diligent farmer need to take care to keep our hearts clear of anything that would hinder the successful planting, growth and the harvest God has programmed into His word.
