- 0:00Speaker 1: It's 97.1 Hank FM with Annie and Cole.
- 0:04Speaker 2: We have made it to Friday. And we are ready,
- 0:08Speaker 2: ready for the weekend.
- 0:09Speaker 1: If you're looking for money to spend this weekend, we've
- 0:11Speaker 1: got New Country Cash back again today.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Yeah, chance for you to win $ 8. 50. We'll tell you
- 0:15Speaker 3: what time you'll be listening for your name.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Final chance to play Sam Barber or Your Barber for
- 0:20Speaker 1: Sam Barber tickets.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a good one for you coming up
- 0:24Speaker 3: right around 6.35. We have been running, I feel like,
- 0:27Speaker 3: a little late all week, so maybe closer to 6.40.
- 0:29Speaker 3: That's okay.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm always late for everything my dad says.
- 0:33Speaker 1: We have been spending this past week honoring Dolly Parton
- 0:36Speaker 1: and the legacy that she has left behind. You can
- 0:39Speaker 1: continue to share your memories with us at 317-663-9797. Special
- 0:44Speaker 1: Friday friends on the show with us today. One of
- 0:47Speaker 1: Dolly Parton's last collaborations was with this artist, Bells, and
- 0:53Speaker 1: we're going to talk to them coming up.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Friday friends. They did what?
- 0:59Speaker 3: Are you eating while you're typing?
- 1:04Speaker 1: No.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Most of the time, right?
- 1:06Speaker 2: We don't eat in the studio. Most of the time.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Microbiologists say your keyboard is probably a lot dirtier than
- 1:12Speaker 3: you think. The combination of food residue and saliva from
- 1:15Speaker 3: your fingers can turn your keyboard into a, quote, bacteria cafeteria.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Here's the thing. That does rhyme, though.
- 1:24Speaker 4: I like it.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Bacteria cafeteria. Yeah, someone in the comments said somebody should
- 1:28Speaker 3: pitch that to Disney. It was an idea for a show.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Also, do we need to know this?
- 1:36Speaker 3: No, I don't think I did.
- 1:37Speaker 5: No.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I did not need to know.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Amazing, soulful, like you feel every note that comes out
- 1:52Speaker 1: of his mouth when he sings.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Going to be in town coming up in early September.
- 1:56Speaker 3: We are not that far away. Fisher's Events Center, your
- 1:59Speaker 3: chance to win this morning. Sam Barber or your barber,
- 2:02Speaker 3: does this quote come from a Sam Barber song or
- 2:05Speaker 3: is it just something weird that maybe your barber would
- 2:07Speaker 3: say to you?
- 2:07Speaker 4: 317-663-9797.
- 2:08Speaker 3: You're going to text your answer to us. The sun
- 2:13Speaker 3: burns hot and the wind does sing. The sun burns
- 2:20Speaker 3: hot and the wind does sing. Sam Barber or your barber. 317-663-9797.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Text to win.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Good luck.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Man, the Fisher's events are going to be popular with
- 2:30Speaker 1: shows coming up. We got Corey Kent coming there in October.
- 2:35Speaker 1: We've got Sam Barber before that September 9th. And tickets
- 2:39Speaker 1: still available for that show if you want to purchase them.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Or you can win them right now.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Sam Barber or your barber is the game this morning.
- 2:45Speaker 3: The sun burns hot and the wind does sing.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I'm going to go Sam.
- 2:50Speaker 3: You were five for five this week.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Give me the tickets, baby.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Good job from Better Year. Congratulations to our winner, too.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Going to see Sam Barber coming up here pretty soon.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Annie and Cole, Friday Friends, 97.1 Hank FM.
- 3:06Speaker 1: We have rising country singer Bells on the phone with us.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Bells, it's great to talk to you.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You are one of Dolly Parton's last collaborations with your song,
- 3:15Speaker 1: Son of Jolene.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Yeah. Still, you know, processing all of this. It's obviously
- 3:21Speaker 4: been such a sad week the last couple days. But
- 3:26Speaker 4: I think the overwhelming feeling that I have right now
- 3:29Speaker 4: is just I'm so grateful that I got the opportunity
- 3:32Speaker 4: to do this song with Dolly.
- 3:35Speaker 3: We all know and... love Dolly for all of her work,
- 3:40Speaker 3: her music and everything that she does for the community.
- 3:43Speaker 3: But we don't personally know her maybe like you do.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Can you tell us a little bit more about what
- 3:48Speaker 3: she kind of is like behind the scenes?
- 3:50Speaker 4: Yeah, well, getting to meet her was truly like the
- 3:53Speaker 4: most incredible day. I was so nervous. I think I
- 3:58Speaker 4: like blacked out the first five.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Minutes when I met her.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Right, I would too.
- 4:02Speaker 4: But yeah, but I mean, she was just so kind
- 4:06Speaker 4: and And so nice. And just everything that you would
- 4:10Speaker 4: think Dolly Parton would be and more. I mean, she,
- 4:14Speaker 4: we just had so much fun that day. Like we
- 4:18Speaker 4: just had a blast together and she just made me
- 4:21Speaker 4: feel like so comfortable and at ease. And we just,
- 4:25Speaker 4: you know, it was just such a wonderful time. And
- 4:29Speaker 4: I'm so grateful that I got to spend that time
- 4:33Speaker 4: with her.
- 4:34Speaker 1: So going forward after having a chance to work with
- 4:37Speaker 1: Dolly and now she is gone, what's something you're going
- 4:39Speaker 1: to take from your time, your experience with her going
- 4:42Speaker 1: forward in your career to make things better?
- 4:44Speaker 4: Yeah. So I asked her for advice and she told
- 4:47Speaker 4: me two things. She told me to follow my God gut,
- 4:52Speaker 4: which I love that. And then she told me there
- 4:56Speaker 4: are a lot of chances in this world. So don't
- 4:58Speaker 4: sacrifice your character of relief for a chance because there
- 5:02Speaker 4: will be another one.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I think she lived by those too.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I like it. I like it a lot.
- 5:06Speaker 4: I love that.
- 5:07Speaker 3: So what's next for you? What else are you working
- 5:09Speaker 3: on right now?
- 5:09Speaker 4: Well, I'm currently just finishing up my tour. Um, and
- 5:14Speaker 4: then I have my debut album coming out on October 16th. Oh,
- 5:18Speaker 4: that is so excited about.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Um, yeah, this album's called Midwestern and it's been incredible.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I got her recorded at RCA studio a, which is
- 5:29Speaker 4: actually where Dolly recorded Jolene and I will always love you. And,
- 5:33Speaker 4: It was just such a dream getting to work in
- 5:35Speaker 4: that studio, and I can't wait for people to hear
- 5:37Speaker 4: this album.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Annie and Cole.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Breaking news. Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention? Cannonball!
- 5:45Speaker 5: 97.1 Hank FM.
- 5:48Speaker 3: What's the breaking news?
- 5:49Speaker 1: Did you hear that there was lions on the loose
- 5:51Speaker 1: yesterday in central Indiana?
- 5:54Speaker 4: Um.
- 5:55Speaker 5: No.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Reports of a 300-pound exotic lioness and her cub being
- 6:01Speaker 1: on the loose prompted an extensive police search in Hancock
- 6:05Speaker 1: and Madison counties.
- 6:07Speaker 4: No.
- 6:08Speaker 1: It all started with someone in Jackson Township looked out
- 6:11Speaker 1: their back window and they're like, wait.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Wait.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Is that a lion wearing a blue harness walking around
- 6:20Speaker 1: with their baby?
- 6:21Speaker 4: What?
- 6:22Speaker 2: Law enforcement, they, of course, took it seriously.
- 6:24Speaker 1: They went out and they did a search and said,
- 6:26Speaker 1: we have not found any evidence of this lion existing.
- 6:32Speaker 2: However, please still use caution.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I don't know if it makes me feel better or
- 6:39Speaker 3: worse that they didn't find lions. Like, yeah, better. OK,
- 6:43Speaker 3: maybe the lions never existed to begin with. Worse, like,
- 6:46Speaker 3: are they still alive? On the Loose.
- 6:51Speaker 2: $ 1, 000 in the New Country Cash Jackpot. $ 8. 50.
- 6:53Speaker 1: We're telling you what time to win that money. Take
- 6:57Speaker 1: that money and maybe outsource some of your chores at home.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Oh, man, I would love that.
- 7:01Speaker 3: The list for us right now is too long. We
- 7:06Speaker 3: have baby Josie's birthday coming up next weekend. So this
- 7:10Speaker 3: is our weekend to get everything done around the house.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Same thing, not as big as a birthday party, but
- 7:16Speaker 1: my mother-in-law is coming to stay with us on Sunday.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And so my husband is like freaking out about getting
- 7:21Speaker 1: the house in order for his mom to come stay
- 7:24Speaker 1: the night. And so it's inspired her Annie and Cole
- 7:27Speaker 1: want to know coming up.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Do you really want to know?
- 7:30Speaker 3: Annie and Cole want to know.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Is there a chore that you would do anything to
- 7:36Speaker 1: get out of? Because I feel like this week, my husband, Rob,
- 7:39Speaker 1: and I were literally negotiating who was going to do what.
- 7:43Speaker 2: At the house this week.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Oh good i mean really i would like to negotiate
- 7:50Speaker 3: my way out of all of them yeah i don't
- 7:52Speaker 3: want to do any of them it doesn't matter here
- 7:55Speaker 3: let me start with the ones that i what time
- 7:58Speaker 3: is it she's already at work it's fine these are
- 8:00Speaker 3: the ones i don't mind doing i don't want her
- 8:02Speaker 3: to know that i don't mind doing them i don't
- 8:06Speaker 3: mind doing.
- 8:06Speaker 2: The laundry.
- 8:09Speaker 3: There is like, I feel like I can get that
- 8:11Speaker 3: because I know a lot of people hate laundry because
- 8:13Speaker 3: it's never ending. But we do most of it on
- 8:16Speaker 3: the weekend. I feel like I can finish it.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I don't mind doing most of the dishes. I hate
- 8:25Speaker 3: vacuuming and dusting.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I hate cooking.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I hate cooking.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I'm just not good at it.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I know. My husband's so much better than me at it.
- 8:37Speaker 2: It's not even funny.
- 8:38Speaker 1: And so this week he actually has been making all
- 8:40Speaker 1: the dinners. And like, you know, when I make dinner,
- 8:42Speaker 1: it's just like, oh, here's some Sloppy Joe's. He like
- 8:45Speaker 1: made this like.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I don't know. He took chicken thighs. He grilled them.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Then he took the meat off the chicken thighs and
- 8:51Speaker 1: he made them into this like Italian sandwich yesterday.
- 8:54Speaker 3: That sounds amazing.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It was so good.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And I thought I would never even like the thought
- 8:58Speaker 1: of taking the chicken off the bone and making it
- 9:02Speaker 1: into something never even crosses my mind.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Or if I have to use like a second thing.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Done.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Right?
- 9:07Speaker 3: No, I'm not doing that. Throw it all in a
- 9:09Speaker 3: crock pot. Throw it all in one pan. Throw it
- 9:11Speaker 3: all in the grill. If I have to take it
- 9:13Speaker 3: from one pot to like another pan or something like that,
- 9:18Speaker 3: that is terrible. That's above my head when it comes
- 9:20Speaker 3: to cooking. I'm not a chef.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I didn't go to culinary school.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I didn't study this.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:24Speaker 2: What do you want me to do?
- 9:26Speaker 1: Is there that chore in your house? You're like, I
- 9:29Speaker 1: will do anything to never.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Have to do that again. Text or give us a call.
- 9:34Speaker 4: 317-663-9797.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Annie and Cole on Hank FM. Do you really want
- 9:39Speaker 5: to know? Annie and Cole want to know.
- 9:44Speaker 2: What chore would you do anything to get out of?
- 9:46Speaker 1: Because I swear my husband Rob and I were having
- 9:48Speaker 1: a full-blown negotiation session on who was going to do
- 9:52Speaker 1: what this week.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Brian on the Army Area text line said, I have
- 9:56Speaker 3: literally bought clothes to avoid doing laundry. Cleaning out the
- 10:02Speaker 3: cat litter.
- 10:03Speaker 2: You know what?
- 10:04Speaker 1: I used to cat sit my boss's cat whenever he
- 10:07Speaker 1: would go on vacation, and I can clean up dog
- 10:09Speaker 1: poop all day long. Something about cleaning a litter box
- 10:13Speaker 1: made me want to vomit every single time.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I have never.
- 10:18Speaker 3: done it, but I've been around friends who have done it.
- 10:21Speaker 3: It is smelly in there. It's Good Review Friday with
- 10:27Speaker 3: Annie and Cole.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I gotta give a shout out to Ed, who is
- 10:30Speaker 1: the owner of Pop Junction in Westfield, which is a
- 10:33Speaker 1: new popcorn store in town.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Tell me more you know my obsession with popcorn off.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Of jersey street right in the little downtown westfield area
- 10:41Speaker 1: that they're trying to build up and turn into like
- 10:43Speaker 1: a big place to go visit and my nephew henry
- 10:46Speaker 1: is obsessed with popcorn right now one of the three
- 10:49Speaker 1: foods that he will eat and so when we saw
- 10:52Speaker 1: that it was open while they were here we went
- 10:53Speaker 1: in and ed is the nicest guy he's like you
- 10:57Speaker 1: could literally try anything here in the store and love
- 10:59Speaker 1: that do you ever feel guilt like after you try
- 11:01Speaker 1: it's like an ice cream shop after you try one
- 11:03Speaker 1: flavor do you feel like.
- 11:04Speaker 2: You could try another.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I think you can, I think if you're in an
- 11:08Speaker 3: ice cream shop and you're trying flavors, I think three
- 11:10Speaker 3: is your max.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:11Speaker 1: So the popcorn, so I felt the same way. I
- 11:13Speaker 1: was like, I've already asked for like too many samples. Like, no, literally,
- 11:16Speaker 1: what do you want to try? He's like, I just
- 11:18Speaker 1: sit in here coming up with flavors. He's like, and
- 11:20Speaker 1: then we put them on the shelf. So I love
- 11:22Speaker 1: the feedback.
- 11:23Speaker 3: That is awesome.
- 11:24Speaker 1: So yeah, if you're looking for popcorn, Pop Junction in Westfield,
- 11:29Speaker 1: visit Ed.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Amazing.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I love that.
- 11:31Speaker 4: All right.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Here's what I got for you. This weekend, we went
- 11:33Speaker 3: to Sweat House. In Broad Ripple. There's one in Carmel.
- 11:38Speaker 3: They're putting one in Bottleworks as well. It is a,
- 11:43Speaker 3: you sit in a sauna for however long you want
- 11:46Speaker 3: to sit in a sauna, and then you get out
- 11:47Speaker 3: of the sauna and you get in a cold plunge.
- 11:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 3: And you go back and forth. We have done this
- 11:52Speaker 3: a couple times. This was our first time at Sweat House,
- 11:55Speaker 3: and it was very nice. My other one, this restaurant
- 11:59Speaker 3: has been on my wife and I's list for too long.
- 12:02Speaker 3: We finally got the chance to try it. Is Bodie
- 12:04Speaker 3: at the end of Mass Ave?
- 12:05Speaker 2: I've never tried it yet. Dude, it was so good.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Got a good review? Call or text 317-663-9797. Annie and Cole.
- 12:14Speaker 3: 97.1 Hank FM.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Annie and Cole.
