- 2:52Speaker 6: I know. I got a new pin last week. I've
- 2:56Speaker 6: been very pleased with it.
- 2:57Speaker 4: The new grawl is the only drummer I could think of,
- 2:59Speaker 4: and I did want to go cliche, So sorry.
- 3:02Speaker 6: Gonna say you're you know, Neil Neil Pert.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, Now I got a new pen last week,
- 3:10Speaker 5: and it's very exciting because I write a lot in
- 3:12Speaker 5: a note book. Yeah, I write notebook for work for you,
- 3:15Speaker 5: do you know, for my high for yep, and uh,
- 3:18Speaker 5: very picky about my pins. But this is a Sharpie
- 3:20Speaker 5: brand pin. I never knew they made things that weren't markers.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Thing comes out real nice. Yeah, uniforms and everything. Alandra,
- 3:29Speaker 5: welcome back.
- 3:29Speaker 6: To the world. How you doing.
- 3:31Speaker 7: I was telling y'all this morning. I don't know.
- 3:33Speaker 8: I'm just like annoyed now because I was telling y'all
- 3:37Speaker 8: this morning that I've not had contact with the outside
- 3:39Speaker 8: world since like six thirty pm last night, because I
- 3:42Speaker 8: guess Verizon's having an outage in my area. So I
- 3:46Speaker 8: also have Verizon's internet for like my WiFi, so I
- 3:51Speaker 8: didn't have Wi Fi or something.
- 3:54Speaker 7: It's still on SOS mode right now. Yeah, I went
- 3:57Speaker 7: like full cave man. Y'all were like, well what did
- 3:58Speaker 7: you do? I literally, late.
- 4:00Speaker 8: In bed, played like New York Times crossword puzzles and
- 4:04Speaker 8: listen to music. I've read a little bit of my
- 4:06Speaker 8: book that I've been reading too, and then I just
- 4:08Speaker 8: went to sleep because I know it's yeah, well.
- 4:10Speaker 6: What do you do?
- 4:10Speaker 7: What do you do?
- 4:12Speaker 6: Here's my question? Where did you how? How could you
- 4:14Speaker 6: access the New York Times?
- 4:16Speaker 8: Because I so I pay for the New York Times
- 4:19Speaker 8: games because I love them, so like you can so
- 4:22Speaker 8: if you pay for it offline, Yeah, you can play
- 4:24Speaker 8: offline and you can go back in the archive and
- 4:27Speaker 8: play like old crossword puzzles.
- 4:30Speaker 7: So I mean it's like four ninety nine a month,
- 4:32Speaker 7: So I just pay.
- 4:32Speaker 6: For that, and all right, huh.
- 4:36Speaker 7: Because I pay for New York Times.
- 4:38Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, for sure, I love him.
- 4:40Speaker 7: There's a new one called Pips that's super fun.
- 4:43Speaker 8: Yeah, Okay, you have to like have the dominoes add
- 4:46Speaker 8: up in the certain square and yeah, it's fun. So
- 4:49Speaker 8: I just played New York Time games offline, and I
- 4:53Speaker 8: told you, well, I told a while ago that I
- 4:56Speaker 8: go back and read like classic books that I was
- 4:58Speaker 8: maybe too young to read or ever. So I've been
- 5:01Speaker 8: on the count of Monte Cristo, right, great, Yeah, it's
- 5:04Speaker 8: really good.
- 5:05Speaker 7: So I liked it on that.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, absolutely super Okay, old that I was doing
- 5:11Speaker 4: like that early.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Oh yeah, technology keeps you up a little bit.
- 5:15Speaker 7: We all know. I go to sleep early anyway. So
- 5:18Speaker 7: I was out by like eight forty five. So if
- 5:22Speaker 7: any let me know if anybody else had Verizon.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Right and there?
- 5:26Speaker 5: Yeah, no I have, but you have had. I didn't
- 5:29Speaker 5: have any issues, Yeah, scrolling away.
- 5:32Speaker 7: I looked it up and it's supposed to be restored by.
- 5:34Speaker 8: Ten fifty three, but who knows. Yeah, that's what they say.
- 5:39Speaker 8: It's been twelve plus hours.
- 5:41Speaker 6: What so they're going to give you a credit on
- 5:44Speaker 6: that bill. Crosswords your go to any other kind of
- 5:47Speaker 6: type of like, so.
- 5:48Speaker 8: I like, I like all the New York Time games.
- 5:50Speaker 8: So the crossword one Pips is new.
- 5:52Speaker 7: And it's fun. Oh you have never heard of It's
- 5:55Speaker 7: like a domino game. I'll show it to you. And
- 5:57Speaker 7: then they have wordle obviously, and then they.
- 6:00Speaker 8: Have the mini Crosswords, which I like.
- 6:04Speaker 6: I don't really know what word.
- 6:05Speaker 8: Is it's you have to guess the word, and if
- 6:10Speaker 8: you get certain letters right, they'll give it. If it's
- 6:12Speaker 8: in the right spot, they'll give you green, and then
- 6:14Speaker 8: you've got to guess the rest of it. Or if
- 6:16Speaker 8: it's in the wrong spot but the right letter, they'll
- 6:18Speaker 8: give you like a yellow.
- 6:19Speaker 6: You try to get it in the least amount.
- 6:20Speaker 7: Of guesses and like five or six.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm a big pseudoku.
- 6:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't like that.
- 6:28Speaker 6: That's the one I don't alane.
- 6:29Speaker 5: Yeah, connect I'm either I'm either retro bowl or yeah.
- 6:36Speaker 8: New York Times Connections is fun too, but sometimes they
- 6:38Speaker 8: make me mad because they don't make sense.
- 6:41Speaker 6: All right, Well, sorry that happened, but.
- 6:46Speaker 7: So o s Yeah it's on SOS mode right now.
- 6:48Speaker 6: I just don't understand how that is attacked you.
- 6:51Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know, or maybe my neighborhood. I don't
- 6:54Speaker 7: I really don't know. Maybe I don't know because yours
- 6:59Speaker 7: is still working too.
- 7:00Speaker 8: And there I had like guarantee gives me a hot
- 7:04Speaker 8: spot so that when I take it on remote, and
- 7:07Speaker 8: I tried to turn that on to see if that worked,
- 7:09Speaker 8: and that didn't work either.
- 7:11Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 7:12Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, we'll figure it out. We'll get to
- 7:15Speaker 6: the bottom of it.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Verizon, if anybody works for Verizon, hit us up, call us.
- 7:20Speaker 6: What's the number? We will continue to slander your name. Yes,
- 7:24Speaker 6: what's the what's our phone number? Here? For nine? Right?
- 7:31Speaker 7: Yeah? No, no, no, it's four nine I think.
- 7:34Speaker 6: Also, sure, give us a call. Uh. How are we doing? Yeah,
- 7:39Speaker 6: we're good.
- 7:40Speaker 9: I didn't have to be onmish yesterday, so uh I
- 7:43Speaker 9: uh watched some basketball. Don't let the Pelicans get hot,
- 7:47Speaker 9: get hot? Watch some college ball. Duke Texas surprise, surprise,
- 7:52Speaker 9: Duke looks good. What else is you in the world
- 7:54Speaker 9: of sports? A lot to talk about today? Excited? Uh,
- 7:59Speaker 9: you know, a prom us to me and Flinden and
- 8:01Speaker 9: playing this. We've both worn vest a total of two
- 8:04Speaker 9: times and just so happened to be on the same day.
- 8:06Speaker 6: So y'all's core is so warm. Let me let me
- 8:11Speaker 6: know about your arms.
- 8:12Speaker 10: He's got the hood to his next little warmer and month.
- 8:15Speaker 10: Let me answer your question with a question. Is it
- 8:18Speaker 10: below fifty five degrees? Yes it is.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Let's play football, that's right, I like it.
- 8:24Speaker 8: Ohid was rocking the best yesterday.
- 8:28Speaker 6: Cade was killing a.
- 8:29Speaker 7: V had the Mercy Dad uniform oh.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Yeah, shout out. Hmmm.
- 8:35Speaker 4: All right, Well, I was laying in bed last night,
- 8:38Speaker 4: you love to make fun of the vest, drifted off
- 8:40Speaker 4: to stret You know what, I had a dream we
- 8:46Speaker 4: were beating Bingville fourteen three. Then I woke up kind
- 8:50Speaker 4: of sad, but then I cheered off when I realized
- 8:53Speaker 4: it was only a dream, because well, I know we're
- 8:56Speaker 4: gonna beat Bingville by way more than that, you know,
- 8:59Speaker 4: So felt better instantly, and can be fourteen to three.
- 9:05Speaker 4: That ain't gonna be the box scorebo.
- 9:08Speaker 6: Ingo? Is is that Alabama? Sure? Yeah, have you got
- 9:16Speaker 6: a shot at it? I'll take fourteen to three, though,
- 9:19Speaker 6: I'll take it. I'd be a gritty win, it would.
- 9:23Speaker 6: It would be a very gritty win. All right. So
- 9:26Speaker 6: obviously we do have a lot to get to.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Lshu's got a president, Lsho's got an athletic director, and
- 9:32Speaker 4: they will hopefully soon have a head.
- 9:35Speaker 6: Football coach on a permanent basis.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Now we're gonna have the interim head coach, Frank Wilson
- 9:39Speaker 4: join us a little bit later on in the show
- 9:41Speaker 4: at eight thirty, looking forward to that conversation. Getting ready
- 9:45Speaker 4: for the trip to Tuscaloosa, Tata mentioned it. We had
- 9:49Speaker 4: basketball yesterday, the LSU Tigers both at action. You had
- 9:53Speaker 4: the Pelicans flocking up and getting their first dub. You
- 9:56Speaker 4: had the trade deadline. The Saints made a couple of moves.
- 10:02Speaker 4: One of them I'm gonna have to live with for
- 10:03Speaker 4: you know, the rest of the year. We'll get to that,
- 10:07Speaker 4: the grades of those trades, all of that conversation when
- 10:10Speaker 4: we come back here on O TB.
- 10:13Speaker 11: Off the bench, Yeah, gotta choose my answering machine now
- 10:37Speaker 11: that I'm alone, goes by. Now it's then we can't
- 10:42Speaker 11: come to the phone and.
- 10:44Speaker 1: The Tigers turn talkers. This is off the bench.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Come out of the gates out there, Landra, I don't know,
- 10:52Speaker 4: slippery slope.
- 10:54Speaker 7: I'm trying to bring my vibes up.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, R and B. Wednesday, I have the gates.
- 11:02Speaker 6: So you have a bunch of music downloaded on your
- 11:04Speaker 6: phone as well.
- 11:06Speaker 7: I was playing I don't know, like sometimes I do.
- 11:08Speaker 6: Yeah, like Apple Music, it downloads it. Yeah, Yeah, we're
- 11:10Speaker 6: team Apple Music.
- 11:12Speaker 9: You don't have to like cell signal thing as long
- 11:14Speaker 9: as you have like if.
- 11:16Speaker 6: It's not downloaded, yeah, album downloaded, I don't know, it's
- 11:23Speaker 6: in the cloud.
- 11:24Speaker 8: It's in the cloud somewhere because I can hear I
- 11:26Speaker 8: can listen to it on the plane if I don't
- 11:28Speaker 8: have Wi Fi on the Yeah, so those are all downloaded.
- 11:30Speaker 6: Yeah, we gotta teach these kids what a download means.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Like they know these you have to downloads.
- 11:39Speaker 6: On my iPod. Yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 10: Yeah, we had the little the little Nano. It's more
- 11:46Speaker 10: one mm hmm. God thoughts man the time to be
- 11:52Speaker 10: at break.
- 11:53Speaker 4: We got one for the two thousand and five SEC
- 11:55Speaker 4: Championship game.
- 11:57Speaker 6: They gave you can tell us.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Nothing because think about that five three iPod three iPhone
- 12:04Speaker 4: one with the screen.
- 12:06Speaker 6: Yeah it was.
- 12:08Speaker 4: It had like abscribed two thousand and five SEC champs
- 12:12Speaker 4: Even though we got beat so bad in that game.
- 12:15Speaker 6: I didn't want to see that thing was Georgia.
- 12:17Speaker 5: Yeah, even when I went, even when we were playing
- 12:21Speaker 5: in the NFL, Like I remember Lacy for Christmas Company,
- 12:24Speaker 5: like one of these mini iPods, and I keep it
- 12:27Speaker 5: all clipping on, and that's what I would That's what
- 12:29Speaker 5: I would use when I was out, like in Prego game,
- 12:32Speaker 5: I have it clipped on.
- 12:33Speaker 7: Yeah, you got a silver one.
- 12:37Speaker 6: Then I probably had a green one for Green Bay.
- 12:41Speaker 6: I was in Seattle. Green one for Seattle Leon Green.
- 12:48Speaker 5: And also had a I got another version of the
- 12:53Speaker 5: eye pod that was like a thick one, so it
- 12:55Speaker 5: was a big boy.
- 12:56Speaker 6: It was like a lot of gemmy.
- 12:57Speaker 5: It was probably a brick at least fifty gigs, no doubt,
- 13:00Speaker 5: no question about it, no doubt.
- 13:02Speaker 6: And it had like the colored screen on it. But
- 13:04Speaker 6: it's still works, so I could you could download a
- 13:07Speaker 6: movie on it, so I'm not you gotta look at this.
- 13:09Speaker 6: This is th watch mission impossible, thrill.
- 13:12Speaker 5: One inch screen, it's probably about one in one and
- 13:14Speaker 5: a half inch screen, but corner to corner, but it
- 13:18Speaker 5: had color and I could put in my my little
- 13:21Speaker 5: wired ear pods in.
- 13:24Speaker 6: And I remember watching the movie hot Rod for the
- 13:26Speaker 6: first time on the iPod.
- 13:28Speaker 5: On the iPod on a plane, and I remember watching
- 13:31Speaker 5: this thing and I was like it was like right
- 13:32Speaker 5: up to my face, like this right, and I was cackling,
- 13:35Speaker 5: like laughing out loud, you know, you know the movie's funny,
- 13:39Speaker 5: like when you're by yourself and you're laughing out loud,
- 13:41Speaker 5: you're vocally projecting laughter. And I remember the lady next
- 13:46Speaker 5: to him, he was like she wasn't real thrilled because
- 13:49Speaker 5: I was like laughing really loud. But yeah, watch hot
- 13:52Speaker 5: Rod right there one and a half inch screen.
- 13:55Speaker 6: And now you know the rest of the story. It's right.
- 13:58Speaker 6: You're welcome, all right. So LSU does have some news.
- 14:02Speaker 6: They do have a president. They do have an athletic director.
- 14:06Speaker 4: We'll throw it to Tata here to give you the
- 14:09Speaker 4: latest and the greatest there. As far as LSU hiring
- 14:13Speaker 4: a new school president.
- 14:14Speaker 9: Yeah, Wade Ruse from McNeese say White was there very long.
- 14:18Speaker 9: But when he had got there, This actually comes from LSU.
- 14:21Speaker 9: Revilee shout out to them. They actually have a ton
- 14:23Speaker 9: of info on Wade Ruse. McNeice was in the midst
- 14:27Speaker 9: of a fourteen year decline in enrollment. He has completely
- 14:30Speaker 9: flipped that in a short time there, they're actually on
- 14:33Speaker 9: a steady incline in enrollment. When he had gotten there,
- 14:37Speaker 9: it was the largest drop in twenty two years. He
- 14:39Speaker 9: completely flipped that. He was there in twenty twenty when
- 14:42Speaker 9: Hurricane Laura hit. That was a tumultuous time for the
- 14:45Speaker 9: city of Lake Charles. He navigated through that, so hadn't
- 14:48Speaker 9: been there very long, but went through a lot at McNeese.
- 14:50Speaker 9: Familiar with Louisiana obviously, and you know you pair him
- 14:55Speaker 9: with a Verge Alesbury, you got alignment at the top,
- 14:58Speaker 9: So I mean, that's that's where we're at.
- 15:03Speaker 6: You got something like you know, you got something in place.
- 15:08Speaker 4: We knew it was gonna come yesterday, but it's good
- 15:09Speaker 4: just to actually see it. And then Verge was on
- 15:13Speaker 4: AFOL yesterday and pretty much like right after he got
- 15:17Speaker 4: off air, it was announced that he is going to
- 15:19Speaker 4: be the full time athletic director. So there's no interim
- 15:22Speaker 4: that gets taken off. And we on Friday when we
- 15:25Speaker 4: were listening to the press conference Matt, we kind of figured, Okay,
- 15:27Speaker 4: this is going to be the deal because he had
- 15:30Speaker 4: the full autonomy to hire the head coach, right, he
- 15:32Speaker 4: had all the authority to do so.
- 15:35Speaker 6: And so if you're going to give somebody that they're
- 15:40Speaker 6: going to be your athletic director, yeah, if.
- 15:41Speaker 5: You're giving somebody the ability to the authority to hire
- 15:44Speaker 5: the next day after you just you know, agreed and
- 15:48Speaker 5: fired a coach and paid him fifty three million dollars
- 15:50Speaker 5: or will be paying him that amount of money. You
- 15:54Speaker 5: aren't going to just let somebody pick the next guy
- 15:58Speaker 5: that's not going to be there.
- 16:01Speaker 6: That would be that would be an egregious situation.
- 16:05Speaker 5: That would be a situation where I don't think other
- 16:07Speaker 5: coaches around the league who would be interested in the
- 16:09Speaker 5: job would like to have I don't think they would
- 16:12Speaker 5: like to know that during this job search, with so
- 16:15Speaker 5: many job openings around the country, that I'm gonna get
- 16:18Speaker 5: hired and then a month later, you're gonna have another
- 16:20Speaker 5: athletic director, not the guy that chose me and hired me.
- 16:24Speaker 5: That's not like it's not a real good recruiting message
- 16:27Speaker 5: to send to a potential head coach out there, especially
- 16:30Speaker 5: like they said, they want the best, they want the biggest,
- 16:32Speaker 5: they want they want the top of the pecking order,
- 16:35Speaker 5: the top of the food chain when it comes to
- 16:36Speaker 5: a head coach here at LSU, which which LSU deserves.
- 16:40Speaker 5: So I think it's a great move, hopefully with the
- 16:42Speaker 5: president's situation. You know, look, it's uh, I was telling
- 16:45Speaker 5: you all during the break, It's like, I, you know,
- 16:48Speaker 5: I know that we have to have all the we
- 16:50Speaker 5: have to have alignment, we have to be everyone's got
- 16:52Speaker 5: to have the job and the titles and everything. But
- 16:54Speaker 5: I hopefully this is the last time we hear the
- 16:55Speaker 5: president's name, and you know, a long time until he's
- 16:58Speaker 5: on the field, you know, during a TV time, I'm
- 17:00Speaker 5: out handing somebody a certificate for something, because that will
- 17:04Speaker 5: mean that things are running smoothly. That means things are
- 17:07Speaker 5: running well. That means the hires are correct. That means
- 17:09Speaker 5: Vergin's doing a good job. The new head coach is
- 17:10Speaker 5: doing a good job. So it's one of those situations
- 17:14Speaker 5: that it's you know, you're you're happy that somebody's in place.
- 17:17Speaker 5: There's a little stability here. The fear of the unknown
- 17:20Speaker 5: is gone, except at least in those two positions. And
- 17:24Speaker 5: so hopefully if they are the they seem seemingly like
- 17:27Speaker 5: the They seem like the right choice.
- 17:29Speaker 6: I think it was the obvious choice.
- 17:30Speaker 5: Everybody pretty much knew that the president was going to
- 17:34Speaker 5: be the president. We figured after the announcement, with Verge
- 17:37Speaker 5: having full autonomy on the head coaching job, that he
- 17:40Speaker 5: would probably be at least the first person to get
- 17:43Speaker 5: the get the the opportunity to become the bad So
- 17:49Speaker 5: there we go.
- 17:49Speaker 6: Now, I'll got to just find a coach. But it
- 17:51Speaker 6: doesn't sound like it's uh they're going to be in
- 17:53Speaker 6: any rush right now. Now.
- 17:55Speaker 5: If they do find somebody that they feel can be faster,
- 17:59Speaker 5: but it has to be the top of their list,
- 18:01Speaker 5: they'll do it. But I think Verge said it yesterday
- 18:03Speaker 5: that they're okay with a playoff head coach for a
- 18:06Speaker 5: playoff team if that, if they decide that that's the
- 18:09Speaker 5: one that they want to pursue.
- 18:12Speaker 6: And look, Verges is an LSU lifer. We all know that.
- 18:15Speaker 4: We kind of know the resume played here, has been here.
- 18:18Speaker 4: I think he's like twenty fourth year in the LSU
- 18:22Speaker 4: athletic department. He has touched all the phases of the
- 18:25Speaker 4: LSU athletic department like everybodyfore that seems a little light,
- 18:29Speaker 4: you know, like he's been in every single role, like
- 18:32Speaker 4: he has truly paid his dues. He's worked himself up
- 18:35Speaker 4: to this, and he is somebody that, Look, we talk
- 18:39Speaker 4: about having passion for LSU, having passion to attack the
- 18:42Speaker 4: job every single day, Well, Verge is going to give
- 18:45Speaker 4: you that. Verge is somebody that's done that for the
- 18:47Speaker 4: last two and a half decades. And then you go
- 18:50Speaker 4: back to his playing days in the eighties for LSU. Right,
- 18:53Speaker 4: So we laid it out what you were looking for
- 18:56Speaker 4: in your next head coach and your you know, next
- 18:58Speaker 4: athletic director. And I'm excited for Verge. Happy for ViRGE,
- 19:03Speaker 4: Verge for twenty years, So excited for him that he
- 19:06Speaker 4: gets this opportunity he is well yeah, yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 6: Mean he's been you know, inentered before.
- 19:12Speaker 4: He's been you know, the right hand man to the
- 19:14Speaker 4: ad before, He's been right underneath multiple ads and now
- 19:17Speaker 4: it's his time to shine.
- 19:19Speaker 6: His career is the way that it should happen. Like
- 19:24Speaker 6: his career path.
- 19:25Speaker 5: He's worked hard and it's not like he's come up
- 19:27Speaker 5: through the ranks and he's finally found himself and made
- 19:29Speaker 5: himself like coming up through ranks throughout the country and
- 19:32Speaker 5: at different programs.
- 19:33Speaker 6: No, he's been at LSU.
- 19:35Speaker 5: He's seen the good, he's seen the bad, he's seen
- 19:38Speaker 5: everything that you can see, and he has done it
- 19:40Speaker 5: the right way. So extremely extremely happy for Verge, and
- 19:45Speaker 5: I know that he's going to do a great job
- 19:47Speaker 5: and well looking forward to kind of this whole coaching
- 19:51Speaker 5: process and his first can you imagine get into your
- 19:54Speaker 5: job and like your first order of business is coach
- 19:57Speaker 5: for the LSU Tigers. Yeah, after they just I aired
- 20:00Speaker 5: a fifty fifty million dollars man.
- 20:01Speaker 6: Yeah, exciting, No good, that's that's kind that's the kind
- 20:09Speaker 6: of player that says, I want the ball. I want
- 20:11Speaker 6: the ball. Came on the line, I want the ball.
- 20:14Speaker 6: That's what Urgin's saying. Yeah, give me the ball. All right.
- 20:19Speaker 6: So you know you do have those positions filled.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Now, as we said, you got your president, you also
- 20:25Speaker 4: have a chancellor as well, right ta, So you know what, Yeah,
- 20:29Speaker 4: team from fourteen years ago, those jobs were kind of
- 20:32Speaker 4: combined and now the chancellor.
- 20:35Speaker 6: Now you bring somebody in.
- 20:37Speaker 4: So now you have a president of the system and
- 20:40Speaker 4: then you have a chancellor at the Baton Rouge campus.
- 20:43Speaker 6: You knew that, told y'all. I was telling you all
- 20:46Speaker 6: yesterday about it. Jim Dalton.
- 20:48Speaker 4: He uh wait, So that position was open to but
- 20:50Speaker 4: yet like it's been a while, like you combined them
- 20:53Speaker 4: for a long time, and now now we got a
- 20:55Speaker 4: new one.
- 20:55Speaker 6: As when we were in school, this is how it was. Yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 6: we had the chance You knew that, right, Yea, here
- 21:00Speaker 6: you go.
- 21:01Speaker 9: He's the first chancellor of the LSU campus since the
- 21:04Speaker 9: president chancellor roles were merged in twenty twelve.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Twelve was a year, right, So they got unmerged yesterday, Yes,
- 21:12Speaker 5: there was an unmerging.
- 21:13Speaker 6: What do we do that for?
- 21:17Speaker 4: I mean, you took a look at it, let's see
- 21:21Speaker 4: what it works. You looked at the analytics of it,
- 21:22Speaker 4: and you said.
- 21:23Speaker 5: The merging in Yeah. Yeah, We've had three head coaches
- 21:30Speaker 5: since the merging. So we said, no, we need some
- 21:32Speaker 5: more stability. Let's unmerge it. Let's bring on the chancellor.
- 21:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 4: And I believe the mark the new president is to
- 21:38Speaker 4: be the fifth committee member, right to make the football higher.
- 21:41Speaker 9: Yeah, Verge said that on Okay, all right, I mean.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Me and Matter not on the committee. Just to confirm, Okay,
- 21:52Speaker 6: can we reach out?
- 21:53Speaker 9: Yeah, we could, look, you can reach out who says
- 21:56Speaker 9: they have.
- 21:56Speaker 6: To stop at five? Yeah, that's true. It is. It
- 21:59Speaker 6: is a state school. Let's put it to a vote.
- 22:02Speaker 4: I think I've put it on every platform that i'd
- 22:05Speaker 4: like to be a part of that.
- 22:06Speaker 5: So I think I'm comfortable saying though that since we're
- 22:10Speaker 5: not on it, I don't think Vere really needs that committee.
- 22:13Speaker 6: Let's just let's just go with Vergis pick. Let's not
- 22:17Speaker 6: get a vote on it. But if there is a
- 22:19Speaker 6: committee team, Ot'd like to be on there. You know,
- 22:23Speaker 6: I'll stick with the football guy on that committee. Yeah,
- 22:26Speaker 6: I'm with you on that. On and with you on
- 22:29Speaker 6: that the other guy's very successful. Great, but let's just
- 22:32Speaker 6: stick with the football.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Guy, all right, So some stability there for LSU. We'll
- 22:37Speaker 4: see what it looks like. Who's the next head coach?
- 22:40Speaker 4: What the rumors are going to be. Is it going
- 22:42Speaker 4: to be in early December? Is it going to be
- 22:44Speaker 4: in early January? Is it going to be after a
- 22:47Speaker 4: playoff run? That we don't know, but you do now
- 22:51Speaker 4: know who the president, the chancellor and the athletic director
- 22:54Speaker 4: are going to be in a full time role. And
- 22:57Speaker 4: we'll take a break more OTB when we come back
- 22:59Speaker 4: here live from the Raising King studio. Off the bench,
- 23:04Speaker 4: all right, go to go Tommy's Hey Tommy, Go to

- 24:31Speaker 7: Right up.
- 24:32Speaker 6: She's stand about.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Five two thousand and seven shams, purple and gold to
- 24:39Speaker 1: the core. This is off the Bench with Hester and Flynn.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Baton Rouge is go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 24:47Speaker 6: And the call of t T Wait a minute, hold on, dog,
- 24:50Speaker 6: she got a kid? All right, welcome back in o
- 24:54Speaker 6: t B. You got a cue. It's ahead. Had heard
- 25:00Speaker 6: this song in twenty years? How long? Ten years? I
- 25:03Speaker 6: don't know, fifteen?
- 25:04Speaker 7: Do you not know this song?
- 25:05Speaker 4: Matt?
- 25:05Speaker 7: Yeah, he was to do this karaoke.
- 25:09Speaker 4: He uh, there was a blind spot in his childhood
- 25:13Speaker 4: that somebody didn't fill with R and B I mean hits.
- 25:16Speaker 6: But I thought the Blaze the Blades had twelve songs.
- 25:19Speaker 7: I told you you know, this wasn't in the root.
- 25:21Speaker 6: This wasn't in the twelve. I mean it's a deep cut.
- 25:23Speaker 6: Gotta be who is this? R Kelly and er?
- 25:26Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, cool, I don't feel.
- 25:30Speaker 6: Like this is usher. Just had the Super Bowl three
- 25:32Speaker 6: years ago. Deep cut R Kelly lets deep peep like
- 25:36Speaker 6: R Kelly's got some baggage. Sure, sure it comes a
- 25:38Speaker 6: little baggage. Also has some hits. That's that's one of them.
- 25:45Speaker 6: That's one of them. Dude, she's got a kid. That's
- 25:52Speaker 6: a great line.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Anyways, looking up the role of a chancellor at a
- 26:05Speaker 5: university right now, but your friend telling you about it. Hey,
- 26:09Speaker 5: it can either be an executive role or a ceremonial role.
- 26:14Speaker 5: I haven't figured out which one we got yet. All right,
- 26:19Speaker 5: just to give me a bunch of words, A bunch
- 26:22Speaker 5: of words sounds that don't mean anything. Still confused on
- 26:25Speaker 5: the unmerging though, glad we did it though, all hands
- 26:32Speaker 5: on deck.
- 26:33Speaker 8: If I could be honest, I didn't even know we
- 26:34Speaker 8: needed a chancellor, like I thought maybe we already had it,
- 26:37Speaker 8: or maybe I'm trying to figure out what they do.
- 26:39Speaker 7: Yeah, it's fair.
- 26:42Speaker 6: Hmmm. Him and the new Prayers are gonna split.
- 26:47Speaker 8: Hey act as an ambassador represent the university and preside
- 26:51Speaker 8: over events like graduation ceremonies.
- 26:54Speaker 7: So they're basically just like the public, like the pr person.
- 26:59Speaker 7: I would say, yeah, yuh.
- 27:00Speaker 5: In a ceremonial role, yes, an executive role. They could
- 27:03Speaker 5: act as the CEO of university.
- 27:05Speaker 7: Okay, but I don't.
- 27:06Speaker 6: Know who's above is the president higher?
- 27:08Speaker 9: See, that's the thing. It would be some tension. Be
- 27:12Speaker 9: fun to keep an eye on power struggle.
- 27:15Speaker 6: You're fun to watch. You're already trying to create something.
- 27:17Speaker 11: Huh.
- 27:18Speaker 6: They did. They created a position yesterday. Touche douche.
- 27:24Speaker 4: LSU basketball starts tonight. Hell yeah, okay, all right, either
- 27:29Speaker 4: one of you all work in the game.
- 27:31Speaker 6: Not tonight.
- 27:32Speaker 9: No, I'm excited about it, though, genuinely I'm excited about
- 27:36Speaker 9: I love LSU basketball, even though they're not good.
- 27:39Speaker 6: Who were playing Tarleton's Charlton State, which is not a state.
- 27:46Speaker 8: Huge agriculture community out in Tarleton.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Oh yeah, where's it? It's in Texas, right, it's kind
- 27:54Speaker 4: of is it Tarleton? Yeah?
- 27:57Speaker 6: Yes, I didn't know the seventh. That's a fair question.
- 28:02Speaker 7: Yeah, because it's you could a person because it's called
- 28:06Speaker 7: Charlton State. So how would you.
- 28:07Speaker 6: Know that's true? Mm hmmm. You looked at me like
- 28:12Speaker 6: I was crazy. I got a third eye. I do know.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Abilene Christian beat Charlton State in football and they tweeted
- 28:19Speaker 4: out Charleston's not even a state in Charlton State got
- 28:23Speaker 4: but heard about it and Evelyne Christian had to release
- 28:28Speaker 4: an apology.
- 28:29Speaker 6: No first sae Tarleton is not a state?
- 28:32Speaker 8: In Stephenville, Yeah, which is I guess like a suburb
- 28:36Speaker 8: of it.
- 28:36Speaker 6: I don't know, suburb of Tarleton.
- 28:39Speaker 8: Or like maybe in all in the area. You know
- 28:41Speaker 8: how there's like a tri state area situation. Maybe it's that,
- 28:45Speaker 8: don't I don't know too much about Tarleton. It's a
- 28:48Speaker 8: big agriculture community.
- 28:50Speaker 6: Search Charlton State University.
- 28:52Speaker 9: First article that came up Abilene Christian issues apology.
- 28:55Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, William I'm with you, Jonathan. If it's not
- 29:02Speaker 4: a state, then what is it.
- 29:04Speaker 5: I'm not an idiot. You looked at me like I
- 29:05Speaker 5: was an idiot. Asking if it was in Tarleton.
- 29:07Speaker 7: Texas, I said Stephenville, and Jake.
- 29:11Speaker 5: Looked at me like I was as I will. It
- 29:12Speaker 5: could be named after a person I don't know. Is
- 29:15Speaker 5: it named after John Tarleton? Tennessee businessman, rancher and philanthropy.
- 29:22Speaker 6: From Tennessee.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Guy from Tennessee gets a Texas university named after him.
- 29:26Speaker 5: Apparently Tennessee's helped Texas out a lot in Texas's history.
- 29:29Speaker 5: Davy Crockett and John Tarleton without far enough, Texans are weird.
- 29:37Speaker 5: It was originally called John Tarleton College, since becoming a
- 29:41Speaker 5: state school.
- 29:42Speaker 7: I just know some country ass.
- 29:44Speaker 6: People that went to Tarleton, some folks named Ricky.
- 29:49Speaker 8: Yes, some ffa kids that went to Tarleton Delia.
- 29:53Speaker 5: What But do you think John Tarlton State University has
- 29:58Speaker 5: a president and a chancellor?
- 30:00Speaker 6: No shot? No shot? How many people can pull that off?
- 30:04Speaker 7: Just tell us, you, just tell us you.
- 30:06Speaker 6: Let's go at least for a state. Charlton's not a state.
- 30:12Speaker 6: That's fair, Guys, I don't have to be an apology
- 30:15Speaker 6: show tomorrow. So watch what you say.
- 30:17Speaker 9: They're the Tarlton State Texan Rider. Wait what their official
- 30:22Speaker 9: mascot is the Texan Rider. So I guess they're the
- 30:25Speaker 9: Texans the Texan That's what it says here.
- 30:32Speaker 8: So do any of us know what the l s
- 30:33Speaker 8: U basketball team is looking like this season?
- 30:39Speaker 6: And last year they were terrible at it?
- 30:41Speaker 9: Like you added you added Markel uh Sudden, you added
- 30:45Speaker 9: Max McKinnon, you added Ron Zipper.
- 30:46Speaker 6: These guys are supposed to be shooters. Now will they be?
- 30:50Speaker 9: I don't know because last year you thought you added
- 30:52Speaker 9: shooters and they were atrocious at shooting from the outside.
- 30:55Speaker 9: So if you can turn that around, the deed An
- 30:58Speaker 9: Thomas is going to be your point guard. He's gonna
- 30:59Speaker 9: cut distribute everything for you. You can have shooters on
- 31:02Speaker 9: the outside. I mean you can make something happen, all right, and.
- 31:05Speaker 6: Get behind that for mat Man. Matt McMahon's like the
- 31:09Speaker 6: nicest human being.
- 31:11Speaker 7: Yeah, he's very good people.
- 31:13Speaker 8: But we were talking I remember us like talking about
- 31:16Speaker 8: this last season is how the SEC is starting to
- 31:19Speaker 8: be like really good in basketball, Like Auburn Florida.
- 31:23Speaker 6: Won the NaSTA made the tournament, but.
- 31:27Speaker 8: Right so maybe they can make something happen. But can
- 31:30Speaker 8: they and the competition that we have in the.
- 31:33Speaker 6: SEC, we'll see, Yeah that you know, that was the issue.
- 31:36Speaker 4: You had some good wins and the non COD last year,
- 31:39Speaker 4: but just got buried in the SEC.
- 31:42Speaker 9: So I think your goal this year should be five
- 31:44Speaker 9: hundred record in the SEC because the SEC is good
- 31:47Speaker 9: enough the way.
- 31:50Speaker 6: You're in.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Yeah, it's got to go up. There's no doubt about it.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Like there's pressure around the program to be better. And
- 31:58Speaker 4: you know, you had a situation where you thought you
- 32:00Speaker 4: were gonna get all these penalties. You didn't get all
- 32:02Speaker 4: these penalties, but you thought you were. You didn't have
- 32:05Speaker 4: anybody left on your team, so you started from scratch.
- 32:08Speaker 4: But you're far along the road now, right, Gotta go
- 32:12Speaker 4: win some games, Gotta go in some games in the SEC.
- 32:14Speaker 4: And they get started tonight against Charleton State, Kim Moulki.
- 32:18Speaker 4: The squad got started last night beating Houston Christian One
- 32:21Speaker 4: eight to fifty five.
- 32:24Speaker 6: M just beating up on Texas.
- 32:26Speaker 5: They've been playing a lot of exhibitions though, right, and
- 32:29Speaker 5: that's been like a hundred point Oh yeah, spreads.
- 32:33Speaker 6: Love it, keep it up.
- 32:39Speaker 7: Do you really have a question about the women's basketball team.
- 32:41Speaker 9: Though, yeah, yeah, I mean flags bag, Mikaela Williams's bag.
- 32:46Speaker 9: You got some big name, Well yeah, I mean they're
- 32:49Speaker 9: they're gonna be dominant again.
- 32:51Speaker 7: Do we want to play? What had to say about.
- 32:54Speaker 6: Yeah, do you have to have it? Yeah? This is
- 32:56Speaker 6: so so Kim Monkey.
- 32:59Speaker 4: After the news of Scott Woodward was let go as
- 33:02Speaker 4: the athletic director, did not come to her press conference.
- 33:07Speaker 4: You know, assistant coach was pretty heartbroken because her and Scott,
- 33:10Speaker 4: obviously we're very close, had a great relationship there. So
- 33:15Speaker 4: last night after the victory against Houston Christian she did
- 33:19Speaker 4: speak to the media and.
- 33:20Speaker 6: Here's what coach Kimmunky had to say. What's Scott? What
- 33:25Speaker 6: would been to you and death department with his partnership?
- 33:29Speaker 6: But what wad you look to you, Scott Ard?
- 33:33Speaker 8: So anytime a coach is hired by somebody, you have
- 33:36Speaker 8: special feelings.
- 33:39Speaker 7: My feelings are far.
- 33:40Speaker 6: Deeper because I'm from the state.
- 33:45Speaker 4: And I want all of us to always do good.
- 33:47Speaker 7: I wants to look good, I wants to smell good.
- 33:49Speaker 7: I was all everything good about the State.
- 33:53Speaker 6: So I'm happy I heard Verge.
- 33:56Speaker 9: Is now the a d I'm happy because I think
- 34:01Speaker 9: Verge is like a lot of us. He grew up
- 34:05Speaker 9: in the state. This is his school and town, all
- 34:15Speaker 9: of us.
- 34:19Speaker 6: So obviously still pretty upset. Yeah, she doesn't love it.
- 34:23Speaker 4: I think she does, you know, like ViRGE and appreciates
- 34:27Speaker 4: that Verge is the one that got the job. I
- 34:29Speaker 4: think you heard that there in Virgion a lot of
- 34:31Speaker 4: things women's basketball over the last couple of years.
- 34:34Speaker 6: Yeah, you can tell.
- 34:35Speaker 4: Still upset by Scott Willard being leg go as athletic director. Look,
- 34:41Speaker 4: not only did Scott hire, they won a championship together.
- 34:43Speaker 4: You know, that's tough.
- 34:45Speaker 5: And I'm assuming they had some sort of you know,
- 34:49Speaker 5: prior relationship. I don't you know that. It's what it
- 34:51Speaker 5: feels like, right, They've they've known each other for a while,
- 34:54Speaker 5: had a really good relationship.
- 34:56Speaker 6: And it's tough.
- 34:56Speaker 5: Like she said, anytime somebody hires you and you have
- 34:59Speaker 5: that a relationship. If you're at a university where the
- 35:02Speaker 5: athletic department has given you everything that you need to
- 35:04Speaker 5: be successful, and then you are successful, there's a bond
- 35:06Speaker 5: that is that is built there, developed there. And I
- 35:12Speaker 5: think we knew when she took the job at LSU
- 35:17Speaker 5: it was an emotional.
- 35:18Speaker 6: Decision for her to do it.
- 35:20Speaker 5: It wasn't like she was looking for the next thing
- 35:24Speaker 5: and was gonna, you know, go to Yukon or wherever
- 35:27Speaker 5: it was.
- 35:28Speaker 6: She wasn't looking for that type of situation.
- 35:31Speaker 5: She came because it's home, Yeah, and it's an emotional
- 35:33Speaker 5: thing for her, and she coaches that way, and she
- 35:37Speaker 5: teaches that way, and she she is the leader of
- 35:42Speaker 5: young women that way. And that's why she's so respected
- 35:45Speaker 5: and beloved because that's how she feels about this university.
- 35:50Speaker 5: And you know in scott Wood where she felt bad
- 35:53Speaker 5: about him as well, because he feels the same way
- 35:56Speaker 5: about this universey. I don't think anybody's ever questioned that.
- 35:59Speaker 5: But Verge also is in that same breath of caring
- 36:04Speaker 5: and being lsu through and through Louisiana through. So I
- 36:07Speaker 5: mean it's, uh, it's probably the best of a bad
- 36:10Speaker 5: situation for her. And it's still I mean, it's still
- 36:13Speaker 5: happened a couple days ago, so it's like it's not
- 36:15Speaker 5: like that whole thing has passed, you know, like.
- 36:17Speaker 4: She said, time will heal. Well, it's all we been
- 36:19Speaker 4: a couple of days. So yeah, no doubt about it.
- 36:22Speaker 4: And you and I have you know, seen you know
- 36:26Speaker 4: coaches that we played for, Like when coach Miles got fired,
- 36:30Speaker 4: I'm sad.
- 36:32Speaker 6: It's a guy that.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Trusted in me and put me in a position to
- 36:37Speaker 4: go get drafted and changed my life. Right, And I
- 36:40Speaker 4: named a child after Coach Miles. Shout out Memphis Miles,
- 36:44Speaker 4: Panther speed the Packers. Case you're wondering, Flynn, Uh, he'd
- 36:48Speaker 4: want me to tell you that. And he already did
- 36:51Speaker 4: meant a lot and when he got fired, I wasn't
- 36:54Speaker 4: playing anymore. But still is like, man, that that sucks.
- 36:57Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean you're kind of sad for what was
- 36:59Speaker 6: not what because.
- 36:59Speaker 4: You remember, you remember like when things were going great.
- 37:02Speaker 4: You remember championships and you remember all the games that
- 37:04Speaker 4: you won together. And even though I hadn't played here
- 37:08Speaker 4: like eight years, I think after he got let go,
- 37:11Speaker 4: still hurts. That's you know, it's a guy that changed life.
- 37:15Speaker 4: And for coach Moulkey, it's kind of what it sounded
- 37:19Speaker 4: like there. Now coach had already built up a resume
- 37:22Speaker 4: and had great moments, but to come here and win
- 37:24Speaker 4: a championship, that was the ad that was a part
- 37:26Speaker 4: of that.
- 37:31Speaker 6: Go Panthers.
- 37:32Speaker 7: Oh sorry, I was just gonna say that.
- 37:34Speaker 8: I know that people are gonna be like, oh, well,
- 37:36Speaker 8: they get paid millions of dollars whatever, But I actually
- 37:38Speaker 8: feel kind of bad for Scott Woodward. Like, and I'm
- 37:41Speaker 8: kind of with Kim Molky, like he went to LSU,
- 37:43Speaker 8: he grew up here, he and yeah, he's gonna get
- 37:46Speaker 8: paid millions of dollars to leave or whatever, but I
- 37:49Speaker 8: mean I feel like he really wanted to be here,
- 37:52Speaker 8: and like maybe I don't agree with some.
- 37:54Speaker 7: Of the hires that he made, but like I still
- 37:56Speaker 7: kind of feel bad for him.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I mean yeah, Like I very much plan
- 38:02Speaker 6: on having a relationship with Scott in the future.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:05Speaker 5: I think it's easy, like emotionally, it's easy for people
- 38:07Speaker 5: to write off like just like tough decisions and people
- 38:10Speaker 5: like losing their jobs because of the money that's involved,
- 38:12Speaker 5: and it's easy for ever and that's a natural thing.
- 38:14Speaker 6: And I understand that. Like, well, I don't feel sorry
- 38:16Speaker 6: for him, like he's getting paid blah blah.
- 38:18Speaker 7: Blah, but there is like his letter made me feel
- 38:21Speaker 7: bad for him, right.
- 38:23Speaker 5: And it's still like humans involved, right, and there's still
- 38:26Speaker 5: you know, and I know the at the in the
- 38:29Speaker 5: Football Ops building, there's a lot of people that are
- 38:31Speaker 5: uncertain about their future, and it's hard for people to
- 38:33Speaker 5: feel sorry because of the money that is involved. And
- 38:35Speaker 5: that's the life you choose, right, I mean, if you're
- 38:37Speaker 5: an a d if you're in sports, that's the life
- 38:39Speaker 5: you choose. But it still doesn't make it like emotionally,
- 38:43Speaker 5: especially when you're in a place you love you it's
- 38:45Speaker 5: your dream job, you've worked it, that's the thing you've wanted.
- 38:47Speaker 6: It still doesn't make that any easier.
- 38:49Speaker 5: So, like from an emotional to standpoint, Yeah, you can
- 38:51Speaker 5: feel sorry for people, Yeah, certainly feel sorry for that.
- 38:53Speaker 6: They've they've lost their their dream. They can't hold on
- 38:57Speaker 6: to it any longer.
- 38:58Speaker 5: Right, Although all the fun stuff does help, I can't
- 39:02Speaker 5: that's a humid thing does help.
- 39:03Speaker 6: But so I get it. I get it from both
- 39:05Speaker 6: sides of the thing, not all the way.
- 39:06Speaker 4: And it just felt like a little vindictive to me,
- 39:09Speaker 4: but I said, it helps fix everything, all right. We
- 39:14Speaker 4: have made it forty seven minutes and I have not
- 39:19Speaker 4: talked about Trevor Pinning being traded to my Bush League Bolts.
- 39:24Speaker 4: We'll hit that when we come back here, Texas, right,

- 41:05Speaker 1: twenty four to seven. You're listening to off the bench.
- 41:30Speaker 4: Now.
- 41:31Speaker 6: We need a day way, all right, tyresee take it easy.
- 41:36Speaker 6: B Wow, goodness, there's other people here, children in the car.
- 41:42Speaker 6: Goodness gracious.
- 41:50Speaker 5: So, I mean you got children that are a little
- 41:53Speaker 5: bit older. I don't know if we need to play
- 41:54Speaker 5: this type of music. Great, they don't need to learn
- 41:57Speaker 5: about this, No, I mean you got to learn somehow.
- 41:59Speaker 5: You might as well learn R and B.
- 42:01Speaker 6: All right.
- 42:02Speaker 4: So there was twenty one deals at the NFL trade deadline.
- 42:07Speaker 6: Uh. The New Orleans Saints actually were part of two.
- 42:12Speaker 4: So Rashid Shaheed on an expiring contract, as we talked
- 42:16Speaker 4: about weeks ago, probably the more likely to be traded.
- 42:21Speaker 4: He goes to Seattle, and Seattle sends these Saints a
- 42:25Speaker 4: twenty twenty six fourth and fifth round pick. ESPN dot
- 42:29Speaker 4: Com gives the trade for the Seahawks and a minus
- 42:32Speaker 4: and for the Saints a B plus.
- 42:36Speaker 6: I like it. I like it.
- 42:38Speaker 4: We gotta be you got some assets, and you needed
- 42:41Speaker 4: some and you mishandled a fourth round pick to get
- 42:48Speaker 4: a receiver that's got less than fifty receiving yards already
- 42:51Speaker 4: on the year, so you at least get that back,
- 42:54Speaker 4: and you get a fifth round selection on a guy
- 42:56Speaker 4: that you know, again had an expiring contract.
- 42:59Speaker 6: Good play, very exciting player.
- 43:01Speaker 4: But now you have seven draft choices and we'll get
- 43:04Speaker 4: to more than you know, another one that you got
- 43:06Speaker 4: a little bit later on. So for the Saints, you're
- 43:09Speaker 4: not going anywhere. You've got an asset that can give
- 43:12Speaker 4: you two draft choices. I like it for both teams.
- 43:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I do too. I mean, it's it was a
- 43:19Speaker 6: great way to make up a terrible trade with Ale.
- 43:23Speaker 5: I mean, now you're at least bag you get rid
- 43:25Speaker 5: of a talented guy that was about to need to
- 43:28Speaker 5: get a contract extension, and you get back to, you know,
- 43:32Speaker 5: seven draft picks. For the draft, there's seven rounds, so
- 43:35Speaker 5: you're back at kind of like even right, you're back
- 43:37Speaker 5: at even par right now. So and it wasn't like
- 43:42Speaker 5: the Saints were kind of in the same situation as
- 43:44Speaker 5: like the Titans were. They just didn't have a lot
- 43:46Speaker 5: of assets to go and make the big crazy trade.
- 43:50Speaker 5: Now he thought maybe it was Chase Young gonna be
- 43:52Speaker 5: I mean, you would think that everybody would have been
- 43:55Speaker 5: had a price tag on him, like nobody was going
- 43:58Speaker 5: to be safe in that building. I mean maybe Tyler shuck,
- 44:00Speaker 5: he's a second round quarterback, but like, who else would
- 44:03Speaker 5: have been kind of an untradeable guy.
- 44:04Speaker 6: I don't I don't really know. I was actually kind
- 44:07Speaker 6: of hoping Rattler would get traded. I don't even know
- 44:10Speaker 6: if that was on the table, But there's people in
- 44:13Speaker 6: need of quarterbacks are clearly you know, done with with Ratler. Yeah,
- 44:18Speaker 6: so I think that he could have garnered some some
- 44:22Speaker 6: sort of price tag. So uh but you know, good
- 44:25Speaker 6: give for the Saints. You did it.
- 44:27Speaker 5: You didn't maybe do it to the extent that some
- 44:29Speaker 5: people wanted, but you did something. You did something you
- 44:32Speaker 5: got you know that that mean they got poking a stick, like, hey, you.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Also sent Trevor Penning to the Bush League balls and
- 44:39Speaker 4: got a six round pick back. Saints got a B
- 44:42Speaker 4: plus on that grade, chargers a C plus chargers needed
- 44:45Speaker 4: so much help on the offensive line, even if it
- 44:47Speaker 4: was Trevor Penning, Hey, at least it was these.
- 44:51Speaker 6: At least it wasn't
- 44:53Speaker 1: Off the bench.
