  you're

  The

  right
• 0:59
  primer
• 0:59
  is
• 1:00
  key
• 1:00
  here
• 1:01
  whether
• 1:01
  you
• 1:01
  have
• 1:01
  adhesion
• 1:02
  problems.
• 1:02
  Where
• 1:02
  you
• 1:02
  want
• 1:03
  an
• 1:03
  adhesion
• 1:03
  primer
• 1:04
  or
• 1:04
  an
• 1:04
  adhesion
• 1:05
  primer
• 1:05
  that
• 1:05
  maybe
• 1:06
  is
• 1:06
  thicker,
• 1:06
  that'll
• 1:07
  smooth
• 1:07
  over
• 1:07
  all
• 1:08
  those
• 1:08
  places
• 1:08
  that
• 1:09
  you
• 1:09
  did
• 1:09
  your
• 1:10
  feathering
• 1:10
  on
• 1:10
  your
• 1:10
  sanding
• 1:11
  to
• 1:11
  make
• 1:11
  sure
• 1:11
  that
• 1:12
  those
• 1:12
  aren't
• 1:12
  dropping
• 1:13
  down
• 1:13
  too
• 1:13
  much
• 1:13
  and
• 1:13
  you
• 1:13
  don't
• 1:14
  see
• 1:14
  it.
• 1:15
  Some
• 1:15
  of
• 1:15
  that
• 1:15
  stuff
• 1:15
  is
• 1:15
  almost
• 1:16
  like
• 1:16
  spray
• 1:16
  bondo
• 1:17
  where
• 1:17
  it
• 1:17
  just
• 1:17
  is
• 1:17
  really
• 1:18
  in
• 1:18
  there
• 1:18
  filling.
• 1:19
  You
• 1:19
  want
• 1:19
  to
• 1:19
  make
• 1:19
  sure
• 1:20
  you're
• 1:20
  using
• 1:20
  the
• 1:20
  right
• 1:20
  primer.
• 1:21
  And
• 1:21
  yes,
• 1:21
  paint
• 1:21
  and
• 1:22
  primer
• 1:22
  are
• 1:22
  not
• 1:22
  the
• 1:22
  same
• 1:23
  as
• 1:23
  primer.
• 1:24
  So
• 1:24
  if
• 1:24
  you're
• 1:24
  going
• 1:24
  over
• 1:25
  an
• 1:25
  old
• 1:25
  finish
• 1:26
  or
• 1:26
  you
• 1:26
  had
• 1:26
  things
• 1:27
  that
• 1:27
  were
• 1:28
  chalky
• 1:28
  or
• 1:28
  you
• 1:29
  had
• 1:29
  things
• 1:29
  that
• 1:29
  were
• 1:30
  just
• 1:30
  not
• 1:30
  looking
• 1:30
  optimal,
• 1:32
  that's
• 1:32
  where
• 1:32
  you
• 1:32
  want
• 1:32
  to
• 1:33
  use
• 1:33
  the
• 1:33
  primer
• 1:33
  and
• 1:34
  then
• 1:34
  the
• 1:34
  paint.
• 1:34
  Now
• 1:35
  check
• 1:35
  with
• 1:35
  your
• 1:35

• 1:35
  store.
• 1:36
  They
• 1:36
  probably
• 1:36
  can
• 1:36
  turn
• 1:37
  around.
• 1:37
  When
• 1:37
  it
• 1:37
  comes
• 1:37
  to

  or
• 1:39

• 1:39
  your

  there

  is

  we

  you

• 1:55
  If
• 1:55
  you're
• 1:55
  looking
• 1:55
  for
• 1:55
  a
• 1:55
  brand
• 1:56

• 1:58
  something
• 1:58
  that's
• 1:58
  going
• 1:58
  to

• 2:11
  that
• 2:11
  way
• 2:11
  you
• 2:11
  can
• 2:12
  get
• 2:12
  some
• 2:12
  savings.
• 2:13
  Buy
• 2:13
  something
• 2:13
  durable
• 2:14
  and
• 2:15
  pretty
• 2:15
  cool.
• 2:16
  Time
• 2:16
  to
• 2:16
  impress
• 2:17
  your
• 2:17
  friends
• 2:17
  and
• 2:17
  family.
• 2:18
  Time
• 2:18
  at
• 2:18
  that
• 2:18
  next
• 2:19
  outdoor
• 2:19
  barbecue.
• 2:20
  Today
• 2:21
  I
• 2:21
  thought
• 2:22
  we're
• 2:22
  diving
• 2:22
  into
• 2:22
  spring.
• 2:23
  A
• 2:24
  lot
• 2:24
  of
• 2:24
  people
• 2:24
  want
• 2:24
  to
• 2:25
  clean
• 2:25
  up
• 2:25
  the
• 2:25
  outside.
• 2:26
  Little
• 2:26
  bit
• 2:27
  of
• 2:27
  staining,
• 2:28
  little
• 2:28
  bit
• 2:28
  of
• 2:28
  painting,
• 2:29
  all
• 2:29
  those
• 2:30
  things.
• 2:30
  So
• 2:30
  let's
• 2:30
  talk
• 2:31
  about
• 2:31
  exterior
• 2:31
  maintenance
• 2:32
  as
• 2:32
  far
• 2:32
  as
• 2:32
  the
• 2:32
  painting
• 2:33
  and
• 2:33
  staining
• 2:33
  goes.
• 2:34
  Now
• 2:35
  the
• 2:35
  first
• 2:35
  rule
• 2:35
  I
• 2:36
  have
• 2:36
  is
• 2:36
  if
• 2:36
  you're
• 2:36
  working
• 2:37
  on
• 2:37
  your
• 2:37
  house
• 2:37
  and
• 2:37
  you
• 2:38
  want
• 2:38
  to
• 2:38
  get
• 2:38
  that
• 2:38
  dialed
• 2:39
  in,
• 2:39
  maybe
• 2:39
  it's
• 2:39
  a
• 2:39
  brand
• 2:40
  new
• 2:40
  paint
• 2:40
  job
• 2:40
  this
• 2:40
  spring
• 2:41
  or
• 2:41
  summer.
• 2:42
  The
• 2:42
  first
• 2:43
  thing
• 2:43
  is
• 2:43
  I'm
• 2:43
  going
• 2:43
  to
• 2:43
  ask
• 2:44
  you
• 2:44
  is
• 2:44
  when
• 2:44
  was
• 2:44
  your
• 2:45
  house
• 2:45
  built?
• 2:46
  If
• 2:46
  it
• 2:46
  was
• 2:47
  built
• 2:47
  before
• 2:48
  1978,
• 2:50
  I'll
• 2:50
  tell
• 2:50
  you
• 2:50
  why
• 2:50
  that's
• 2:50
  a
• 2:51
  key
• 2:51
  number
• 2:51
  here
• 2:51
  in
• 2:51
  just
• 2:52
  a
• 2:52
  second.
• 2:52
  You
• 2:53
  should
• 2:53
  probably
• 2:53
  do
• 2:53
  a
• 2:53
  quick
• 2:54
  lead
• 2:54
  test
• 2:55
  on
• 2:55
  the
• 2:55
  outside
• 2:56
  because
• 2:57
  in
• 2:57
  the
• 2:58
  40s,
• 2:58
  50s,
• 2:59
  60s,
• 2:59
  70s,
• 3:00
  up
• 3:01
  until
• 3:01
  78.
• 3:02
  Now
• 3:02
  it
• 3:02
  really
• 3:03
  stopped
• 3:03
  earlier
• 3:03
  in
• 3:03
  the
• 3:04
  70s,
• 3:04
  but
• 3:04
  they
• 3:04
  gave
• 3:05
  some
• 3:05
  time
• 3:05
  for
• 3:05
  it
• 3:05
  to
• 3:05
  work
• 3:06
  its
• 3:06
  way
• 3:06
  out
• 3:07
  but
• 3:07
  lead
• 3:07
  was
• 3:08
  used
• 3:08
  in
• 3:08
  the
• 3:08
  premium
• 3:09
  paints.
• 3:10
  And
• 3:10
  this
• 3:11
  is
• 3:11
  something
• 3:11
  that
• 3:11
  I
• 3:11
  learned
• 3:12
  with
• 3:12
  lead
• 3:12
  paint
• 3:13
  is,
• 3:13
  one,
• 3:13
  it's
• 3:14
  pretty
• 3:14
  dangerous
• 3:14
  for
• 3:14
  you.
• 3:14
  But
• 3:15
  two,
• 3:15
  in
• 3:16
  neighborhoods
• 3:16
  that
• 3:16
  had
• 3:17
  a
• 3:17
  really
• 3:17
  good
• 3:17
  paint
• 3:18
  store
• 3:18
  with
• 3:18
  really
• 3:19
  good
• 3:19
  salespeople
• 3:20
  that
• 3:20
  was
• 3:20
  maybe
• 3:21
  mid
• 3:21
  to
• 3:22
  upper
• 3:22
  end
• 3:23
  or
• 3:23
  had
• 3:23
  a
• 3:24
  good
• 3:24
  salesperson
• 3:24
  in
• 3:24
  it,
• 3:25
  those
• 3:25
  neighborhoods
• 3:26
  have
• 3:26
  more
• 3:27
  chances
• 3:27
  of
• 3:27
  lead
• 3:28
  paint
• 3:28
  than
• 3:28
  others
• 3:29
  because
• 3:29
  the
• 3:30
  cheap
• 3:30
  stuff
• 3:30
  didn't
• 3:30
  have
• 3:31
  lead
• 3:31
  in
• 3:31
  it.
• 3:32
  That
• 3:32
  doesn't
• 3:33
  mean
• 3:33
  you
• 3:33
  don't
• 3:33
  have
• 3:33
  to
• 3:33
  test
• 3:34
  it,
• 3:34
  but
• 3:35
  I
• 3:35
  can
• 3:35
  look
• 3:35
  and
• 3:36
  see
• 3:37
  if
• 3:37
  I
• 3:37
  talk
• 3:37
  to
• 3:38
  my
• 3:38
  friends
• 3:38
  that
• 3:38
  do
• 3:38
  lead
• 3:39
  in
• 3:39
  asbestos
• 3:39
  testing,
• 3:40
  I
• 3:40
  can
• 3:41
  see
• 3:41
  in
• 3:41
  the
• 3:41
  Portland
• 3:41
  area
• 3:42
  where
• 3:42
  people
• 3:43
  spent
• 3:43
  more
• 3:43
  money
• 3:44
  on
• 3:44
  paint,
• 3:45
  whether
• 3:45
  it
• 3:45
  was
• 3:45
  a
• 3:45
  good
• 3:45
  salesperson
• 3:46
  or
• 3:46
  not.
• 3:47
  Those
• 3:47
  areas
• 3:48
  had
• 3:48
  higher
• 3:48
  amounts
• 3:49
  of
• 3:49
  lead
• 3:50
  or
• 3:50
  positive
• 3:51
  test
• 3:51
  results.
• 3:52
  So
• 3:53
  make
• 3:53
  sure
• 3:54
  if
• 3:54
  you
• 3:54
  have
• 3:55
  lead
• 3:55
  paint,
• 3:56
  if
• 3:57
  you
• 3:57
  get
• 3:57
  that
• 3:57
  swab
• 3:58
  out,
• 3:58
  you
• 3:58
  test
• 3:58
  it
• 3:59
  and
• 3:59
  it
• 3:59
  turns
• 3:59
  bright
• 3:59
  red,
• 4:00
  and
• 4:00
  you
• 4:00
  go,
• 4:00
  oh,
• 4:00
  I'm
• 4:00
  dealing
• 4:00
  with
• 4:01
  lead
• 4:01
  paint.
• 4:02
  That's
• 4:02
  something
• 4:02
  you
• 4:02
  want
• 4:03
  to
• 4:03
  take
• 4:03
  a
• 4:03
  look
• 4:03
  at
• 4:04
  and
• 4:04
  follow
• 4:05
  all
• 4:05
  of
• 4:05
  the
• 4:05
  federal
• 4:06
  and
• 4:06
  local
• 4:06
  rules
• 4:07
  and
• 4:07
  regulations
• 4:07
  for
• 4:08
  dealing
• 4:08
  with
• 4:08
  it.
• 4:09
  Now,
• 4:09
  that
• 4:09
  can
• 4:10
  be
• 4:10
  significant,
• 4:11
  but
• 4:11
  the
• 4:12
  problem
• 4:12
  is
• 4:12
  it
• 4:12
  can
• 4:12
  be
• 4:13
  unhealthy
• 4:13
  for
• 4:14
  you
• 4:14
  if
• 4:14
  you
• 4:14
  don't
• 4:14
  follow
• 4:15
  them.
• 4:15
  And
• 4:16
  the
• 4:16
  fines
• 4:16
  can
• 4:17
  be
• 4:17
  excessive.
• 4:19
  I
• 4:19
  have
• 4:19
  seen
• 4:20
  someone
• 4:20
  that
• 4:20
  did
• 4:20
  a
• 4:20
  paint
• 4:21
  job
• 4:21
  on
• 4:21
  the
• 4:21
  outside
• 4:21
  of
• 4:21
  their
• 4:22
  house
• 4:22
  in
• 4:22
  Tacoma,
• 4:23
  Washington.
• 4:24
  It
• 4:24
  happened
• 4:24
  up
• 4:25
  there.
• 4:25
  They
• 4:26
  came
• 4:26
  through
• 4:26
  scraped
• 4:27
  painted.
• 4:28
  They
• 4:28
  had
• 4:29
  a
• 4:29
  neighbor
• 4:29
  that
• 4:29
  was
• 4:30
  not
• 4:30
  their
• 4:30
  friend.
• 4:31
  They
• 4:32
  called
• 4:32
  and
• 4:32
  reported
• 4:32
  them.
• 4:33
  They
• 4:33
  got
• 4:34
  fined,
• 4:34
  and
• 4:35
  they
• 4:35
  had
• 4:35
  to
• 4:35
  come
• 4:36
  in
• 4:36
  and
• 4:37
  dig
• 4:37
  up
• 4:37
  the
• 4:37
  soil
• 4:38
  out
• 4:39
  of
• 4:39
  the
• 4:39
  area
• 4:39
  that
• 4:39
  was
• 4:39
  contaminated
• 4:40
  from
• 4:40
  the
• 4:40
  paint,
• 4:41
  including
• 4:41
  in
• 4:41
  the
• 4:42
  neighbor's
• 4:42
  yard,
• 4:43
  and
• 4:43
  haul
• 4:43
  that
• 4:44
  all
• 4:44
  off
• 4:44
  as
• 4:44
  hazardous
• 4:45
  materials.
• 4:46
  So
• 4:46
  you
• 4:46
  need
• 4:46
  to
• 4:46
  follow
• 4:47
  the
• 4:47
  rules
• 4:47
  and
• 4:47
  be
• 4:47
  super
• 4:48
  careful
• 4:48
  about
• 4:48
  it
• 4:49
  so
• 4:49
  that
• 4:49
  way
• 4:50
  you
• 4:50
  don't
• 4:50
  create
• 4:50
  another
• 4:51
  health,
• 4:51
  health
• 4:51
  hazard
• 4:52
  outside
• 4:53
  and
• 4:53
  make
• 4:54
  the
• 4:54
  neighbors
• 4:54
  really
• 4:54
  upset
• 4:55
  with
• 4:55
  you
• 4:55
  for
• 4:55
  creating
• 4:55
  one
• 4:56
  in
• 4:56
  their
• 4:56
  yard.
• 4:57
  So
• 4:57
  treat
• 4:58
  it
• 4:58
  carefully.
• 4:58
  Follow
• 4:58
  the
• 4:59
  rules.
• 4:59
  You
• 4:59
  can
• 5:00
  search
• 5:00
  it
• 5:00
  online.
• 5:00
  I'm
• 5:00
  not
• 5:01
  going
• 5:01
  to
• 5:01
  tell
• 5:01
  you
• 5:01
  how
• 5:01
  to
• 5:01
  do
• 5:01
  it
• 5:01
  here,
• 5:01
  because
• 5:02
  there
• 5:02
  are
• 5:02
  areas
• 5:02
  that
• 5:02
  will
• 5:03
  do
• 5:03
  things
• 5:03
  differently.
• 5:04
  So
• 5:04
  you
• 5:04
  need
• 5:04
  to
• 5:05
  know
• 5:05
  what
• 5:05
  happens
• 5:05
  in
• 5:05
  your
• 5:06
  area.
• 5:06
  And
• 5:07
  when
• 5:07
  in
• 5:07
  doubt,
• 5:08
  hire
• 5:08
  an
• 5:08
  abatement
• 5:09
  company
• 5:09
  to
• 5:09
  come
• 5:09
  in,
• 5:10
  remove
• 5:10
  it,
• 5:11
  or
• 5:11
  encapsulate
• 5:12
  it
• 5:12
  correctly.
• 5:13
  So
• 5:13
  you
• 5:14
  want
• 5:14
  to
• 5:14
  make
• 5:14
  sure
• 5:14
  you
• 5:14
  do
• 5:14
  that
• 5:15
  to
• 5:15
  follow
• 5:15
  all
• 5:16
  those
• 5:16
  rules
• 5:16
  and
• 5:16
  regs
• 5:17
  so
• 5:17
  you
• 5:17
  don't
• 5:17
  get
• 5:17
  in
• 5:17
  trouble
• 5:18
  or
• 5:18
  cause
• 5:19
  a
• 5:19
  bigger
• 5:19
  problem
• 5:19
  down
• 5:19
  the
• 5:20
  road.
• 5:20
  So
• 5:20
  watch
• 5:20
  out
• 5:21
  for
• 5:21
  that.
• 5:22
  Now,
• 5:22
  what
• 5:23
  happens,
• 5:23
  though,
• 5:23
  is
• 5:23
  if
• 5:24
  you've
• 5:24
  got
• 5:24
  peeling
• 5:24
  paint,
• 5:25
  like
• 5:25
  you've
• 5:25
  got
• 5:25
  moisture
• 5:26
  behind
• 5:26
  it,
• 5:26
  or
• 5:27
  a
• 5:27
  paint
• 5:27
  that
• 5:27
  failed,
• 5:28
  you
• 5:28
  could
• 5:28
  have
• 5:29
  multiple
• 5:29
  layers
• 5:29
  back
• 5:29
  there.
• 5:30
  So
• 5:30
  you
• 5:30
  just
• 5:30
  want
• 5:30
  to
• 5:30
  test
• 5:31
  all
• 5:31
  those
• 5:31
  places
• 5:32
  where
• 5:32
  you
• 5:33
  know
• 5:33
  where
• 5:33
  the
• 5:33
  paint
• 5:34
  could
• 5:34
  be
• 5:34
  flaking
• 5:35
  off.
• 5:35
  And
• 5:35
  so
• 5:35
  you
• 5:35
  get
• 5:36
  a
• 5:36
  better
• 5:36
  idea
• 5:36
  of
• 5:36
  what's
• 5:37
  going
• 5:37
  on.
• 5:38
  Now,
• 5:38
  the
• 5:38
  thing
• 5:39
  is,
• 5:39
  when
• 5:39
  we're
• 5:40
  talking
• 5:40
  exterior
• 5:41
  paint
• 5:41
  on
• 5:41
  your
• 5:41
  house,
• 5:42
  the
• 5:43
  most
• 5:43
  important
• 5:44
  thing
• 5:44
  is
• 5:44
  that
• 5:45
  prep.
• 5:46
  And
• 5:46
  I
• 5:46
  have
• 5:46
  had
• 5:47
  some
• 5:47
  homes
• 5:47
  that,
• 5:47
  I
• 5:47
  tell
• 5:47
  you
• 5:48
  what,
• 5:48
  that
• 5:49
  didn't
• 5:49
  have
• 5:49
  lead
• 5:50
  paint,
• 5:50
  but
• 5:51
  they
• 5:51
  had
• 5:51
  dinner
• 5:52
  sized
• 5:52
  plate
• 5:53
  pieces
• 5:53
  of
• 5:54
  paint
• 5:55
  failing
• 5:55
  coming
• 5:56
  off
• 5:56
  the
• 5:56
  siding.
• 5:58
  Now,
• 5:58
  this
• 5:59
  was
• 5:59
  a
• 5:59
  lap
• 5:59
  sighting.
• 6:00
  So
• 6:00
  it
• 6:00
  could
• 6:00
  have
• 6:00
  been
• 6:00
  a
• 6:00
  couple
• 6:01
  things.
• 6:01
  It
• 6:01
  could
• 6:01
  have
• 6:01
  been
• 6:01
  moisture
• 6:02
  pushing
• 6:02
  it
• 6:02
  off
• 6:03
  the
• 6:03
  wood.
• 6:04
  It
• 6:04
  could
• 6:04
  have
• 6:04
  been
• 6:05
  someone
• 6:05
  didn't
• 6:05
  prime
• 6:06
  it
• 6:06
  correctly
• 6:07
  or
• 6:07
  didn't
• 6:07
  prep
• 6:07
  it
• 6:08
  correctly,
• 6:08
  or
• 6:09
  both.
• 6:10
  So
• 6:10
  those
• 6:10
  are
• 6:10
  things
• 6:11
  we
• 6:11
  all
• 6:11
  need
• 6:11
  to
• 6:11
  take
• 6:11
  a
• 6:11
  look
• 6:12
  at
• 6:12
  when
• 6:12
  we're
• 6:12
  doing
• 6:12
  this.
• 6:13
  And
• 6:13
  that's
• 6:14
  where
• 6:14
  that
• 6:14
  prep
• 6:15
  is
• 6:15
  a
• 6:15
  big
• 6:15
  deal.
• 6:16
  So
• 6:16
  the
• 6:16
  first
• 6:16
  thing
• 6:17
  you
• 6:17
  want
• 6:17
  to
• 6:17
  do
• 6:17
  is
• 6:17
  get
• 6:17
  out
• 6:17
  there,
• 6:18
  scrub
• 6:18
  it
• 6:18
  down,
• 6:18
  get
• 6:18
  all
• 6:19
  the
• 6:19
  environmental
• 6:20
  junk
• 6:20
  off
• 6:20
  of
• 6:20
  it.
• 6:21
  Whether
• 6:21
  it's
• 6:22
  bugs,
• 6:22
  whether
• 6:22
  it's
• 6:23
  dirt,
• 6:24
  whether
• 6:24
  it's
• 6:24
  soot,
• 6:25
  whether
• 6:26
  it's
• 6:26
  exterior
• 6:27
  contaminants
• 6:27
  from
• 6:28
  the
• 6:28
  air.
• 6:29
  Could
• 6:29
  be
• 6:29
  anything
• 6:29
  out
• 6:30
  there.
• 6:30
  Make
• 6:30
  sure
• 6:30
  you
• 6:31
  get
• 6:31
  that
• 6:31
  cleaned
• 6:31
  up.
• 6:32
  I
• 6:32
  am
• 6:32
  not
• 6:32
  a
• 6:33
  pressure
• 6:33
  washer
• 6:34
  fan.
• 6:35
  Because
• 6:35
  now
• 6:35
  you're
• 6:35
  driving
• 6:36
  water
• 6:36
  in
• 6:36
  behind
• 6:37
  that
• 6:37
  old
• 6:37
  siding.
• 6:38
  You
• 6:38
  can
• 6:38
  cause
• 6:38
  damage.
• 6:39
  You
• 6:39
  can
• 6:39
  cause
• 6:40
  water
• 6:40
  damage
• 6:41
  and
• 6:41
  bigger
• 6:41
  problems.
• 6:42
  So
• 6:43
  I'd
• 6:43
  much
• 6:43
  rather
• 6:43
  see
• 6:44
  it.
• 6:44
  And
• 6:44
  when
• 6:44
  you're
• 6:45
  spraying,
• 6:45
  you
• 6:45
  want
• 6:45
  to
• 6:45
  spray
• 6:46
  from
• 6:46
  the
• 6:46
  top
• 6:46
  down
• 6:47
  and
• 6:47
  get
• 6:47
  an
• 6:47
  angle.
• 6:48
  You
• 6:48
  don't
• 6:48
  want
• 6:48
  to
• 6:48
  come
• 6:48
  up
• 6:49
  under
• 6:49
  the
• 6:49
  siding.
• 6:49
  So
• 6:49
  you
• 6:50
  want
• 6:50
  to
• 6:50
  get
• 6:50
  out
• 6:50
  there
• 6:51
  weeks
• 6:51
  beforehand
• 6:52
  and
• 6:52
  spray
• 6:53
  it
• 6:53
  down
• 6:53
  and
• 6:54
  clean
• 6:54
  it
• 6:54
  up.
• 6:55
  The
• 6:55
  next
• 6:55
  thing
• 6:56
  is,
• 6:56
  once
• 6:56
  you
• 6:56
  get
• 6:56
  it
• 6:56
  clean,
• 6:57
  that's
• 6:57
  when
• 6:57
  I
• 6:57
  start
• 6:57
  taking
• 6:58
  a
• 6:58
  look
• 6:58
  at,
• 6:58
  okay,
• 6:59
  what
• 6:59
  do
• 6:59
  I
• 6:59
  need
• 6:59
  to
• 6:59
  do
• 7:00
  as
• 7:00
  far
• 7:00
  as
• 7:00
  scraping?
• 7:01
  If
• 7:02
  I
• 7:02
  have
• 7:02
  paint
• 7:02
  coming
• 7:03
  off,
• 7:03
  I
• 7:03
  need
• 7:03
  to
• 7:03
  scrape
• 7:04
  it
• 7:04
  all,
• 7:04
  make
• 7:04
  sure
• 7:04
  I
• 7:05
  get
• 7:05
  it
• 7:05
  all
• 7:05
  good,
• 7:06
  and
• 7:06
  then
• 7:07
  get
• 7:07
  it
• 7:07
  sanded
• 7:08
  down.
• 7:08
  And
• 7:08
  this
• 7:08
  is
• 7:08
  why
• 7:08
  you
• 7:09
  want
• 7:09
  to
• 7:09
  make
• 7:09
  sure
• 7:09
  and
• 7:09
  do
• 7:09
  that.
• 7:10
  Lead
• 7:10
  paint
• 7:10
  testing,
• 7:11
  make
• 7:11
  sure
• 7:11
  you're
• 7:11
  wearing
• 7:11
  a
• 7:11
  mask
• 7:12
  and
• 7:13
  you
• 7:13
  don't
• 7:13
  want
• 7:13
  to
• 7:13
  be
• 7:13
  doing
• 7:13
  this
• 7:13
  with
• 7:14
  lead
• 7:14
  paint.
• 7:14
  Make
• 7:14
  sure
• 7:15
  you
• 7:15
  get
• 7:15
  it
• 7:15
  all
• 7:15
  sanded
• 7:16
  down
• 7:16
  and
• 7:16
  smooth.
• 7:17
  Because
• 7:17
  if
• 7:17
  you
• 7:17
  just
• 7:17
  scrape
• 7:18
  it
• 7:18
  and
• 7:18
  prime
• 7:19
  it,
• 7:19
  Unless
• 7:20
  you're
• 7:20
  using
• 7:21
  one
• 7:21
  of
• 7:21
  those
• 7:21
  specialty
• 7:22
  primers
• 7:22
  for
• 7:22
  peeling
• 7:23
  paint.
• 7:24
  That's
• 7:24
  an
• 7:24
  asterisk
• 7:25
  right
• 7:25
  there.
• 7:26
  You
• 7:26
  really
• 7:26
  are
• 7:26
  going
• 7:26
  to
• 7:26
  need
• 7:27
  to
• 7:27
  go
• 7:27
  through
• 7:27
  and
• 7:27
  prep
• 7:28
  this.
• 7:28
  Right.
• 7:28
  Which
• 7:28
  means
• 7:29
  they
• 7:29
  have
• 7:30
  different
• 7:30
  tools.
• 7:30
  You
• 7:30
  can
• 7:31
  use
• 7:31
  sanders,
• 7:31
  things
• 7:32
  like
• 7:32
  that,
• 7:32
  to
• 7:32
  get
• 7:32
  it
• 7:32
  dialed
• 7:33
  in
• 7:33
  and
• 7:33
  get
• 7:33
  it
• 7:33
  looking
• 7:33
  good.
• 7:34
  But
• 7:35
  that's
• 7:35
  what
• 7:35
  it's
• 7:35
  going
• 7:35
  to
• 7:35
  take
• 7:36
  is
• 7:36
  to
• 7:36
  get
• 7:37
  that
• 7:37
  all
• 7:37
  scraped,
• 7:38
  all
• 7:39
  primed.
• 7:40
  But
• 7:40
  first,
• 7:40
  I
• 7:40
  want
• 7:41
  to
• 7:41
  make
• 7:41
  sure
• 7:41
  you
• 7:41
  got
• 7:41
  everything
• 7:42
  caulked
• 7:42
  and
• 7:43
  make
• 7:43
  sure
• 7:43
  you're
• 7:43
  following
• 7:43
  the
• 7:44
  directions.
• 7:44
  Some
• 7:44
  guys
• 7:45
  want
• 7:45
  you
• 7:45
  to
• 7:46
  caulk
• 7:46
  right
• 7:46
  over
• 7:47
  the
• 7:47
  edge
• 7:47
  of
• 7:47
  the
• 7:47
  raw
• 7:48
  wood.
• 7:48
  Some
• 7:48
  people
• 7:48
  want
• 7:48
  you
• 7:49
  to
• 7:49
  prime
• 7:49
  first
• 7:49
  and
• 7:50
  then
• 7:50
  caulk.
• 7:51
  So
• 7:51
  follow
• 7:51
  the
• 7:51
  directions
• 7:52
  on
• 7:52
  the
• 7:52
  caulking
• 7:53
  that
• 7:53
  you
• 7:53
  use.
• 7:54
  My
• 7:54
  favorite
• 7:55
  one
• 7:55
  for
• 7:55
  latex
• 7:56
  out
• 7:56
  there
• 7:57
  is
• 7:57
  called
• 7:58
  big
• 7:58
  stretch.
• 7:59
  When
• 7:59
  you're
• 7:59
  chasing
• 8:00
  around
• 8:00
  the
• 8:00
  house,
• 8:01
  what
• 8:01
  I
• 8:01
  like
• 8:02
  about
• 8:02
  this
• 8:02
  stuff
• 8:02
  is
• 8:03
  it
• 8:03
  is
• 8:03
  a
• 8:03
  water
• 8:03
  based
• 8:04
  latex
• 8:04
  caulking,
• 8:05
  but
• 8:06
  it
• 8:06
  really
• 8:06
  stretches
• 8:07
  more
• 8:07
  than
• 8:07
  anything
• 8:07
  else
• 8:08
  on
• 8:08
  the
• 8:08
  marketplace.
• 8:09
  That's
• 8:09
  the
• 8:10
  cool
• 8:10
  part.
• 8:10
  That's
• 8:11
  what
• 8:11
  changes
• 8:11
  things.
• 8:12
  That's
• 8:12
  what
• 8:12
  gets
• 8:13
  you
• 8:13
  dialed
• 8:13
  in.
• 8:14
  So
• 8:14
  make
• 8:14
  sure
• 8:14
  you
• 8:14
  get
• 8:14
  that
• 8:15
  stuff
• 8:15
  taken
• 8:15
  care
• 8:15
  of.
• 8:16
  Make
• 8:16
  sure
• 8:16
  you've
• 8:16
  got
• 8:16
  it
• 8:16
  looking
• 8:17
  good
• 8:17
  and
• 8:18
  then
• 8:18
  more
• 8:18
  importantly,
• 8:20
  make
• 8:20
  sure
• 8:20
  that
• 8:20
  prep
• 8:21
  is
• 8:21
  dialed
• 8:21
  in.
• 8:21
  Now
• 8:22
  if
• 8:22
  you've
• 8:22
  got
• 8:22
  those
• 8:22
  areas
• 8:23
  where
• 8:23
  you've
• 8:23
  been
• 8:23
  scraping
• 8:24
  those
• 8:24
  things
• 8:24
  that
• 8:25
  are
• 8:25
  looking
• 8:25
  a
• 8:25
  little
• 8:25
  bit
• 8:26
  rough,
• 8:26
  what
• 8:27
  you
• 8:27
  can
• 8:27
  do
• 8:28
  is
• 8:28
  like
• 8:28
  Sherwin
• 8:29
  Williams
• 8:29
  makes
• 8:29
  a
• 8:30
  adhesion
• 8:31
  primer
• 8:31
  that
• 8:31
  is
• 8:31
  thicker,
• 8:32
  that
• 8:33
  will.
• 8:33
  It'll
• 8:33
  fill
• 8:33
  in
• 8:33
  those
• 8:34
  areas
• 8:34
  where
• 8:34
  you
• 8:34
  have
• 8:35
  a
• 8:35
  lot
• 8:35
  of
• 8:35
  paint,
• 8:35
  little
• 8:36
  bit
• 8:36
  of
• 8:36
  paint,
• 8:36
  all
• 8:37
  that,
• 8:37
  you
• 8:37
  can
• 8:37
  make
• 8:37
  it
• 8:38
  look
• 8:38
  really
• 8:38
  good.
• 8:39
  So
• 8:39
  get
• 8:39
  that
• 8:40
  dialed
• 8:40
  in,
• 8:40
  make
• 8:41
  it
• 8:41
  look
• 8:41
  golden,
• 8:42
  get
• 8:43
  that
• 8:43
  primer
• 8:43
  on
• 8:43
  there,
• 8:44
  let
• 8:44
  it
• 8:44
  cure
• 8:45
  correctly.
• 8:46
  And
• 8:46
  with
• 8:47
  all
• 8:47
  the
• 8:47
  right
• 8:47
  caulking
• 8:48
  cleaned
• 8:48
  out
• 8:48
  all
• 8:48
  the
• 8:49
  old
• 8:49
  stuff,
• 8:49
  that
• 8:50
  prep
• 8:50
  work
• 8:50
  is
• 8:50
  going
• 8:51
  to
• 8:51
  be
• 8:51
  golden
• 8:51
  for
• 8:51
  you.
• 8:51
  And
• 8:52
  that's
• 8:52
  how
• 8:52
  you
• 8:52
  get
• 8:52
  that
• 8:52
  prep
• 8:53
  work
• 8:53
  looking
• 8:53
  good.
• 8:54
  And
• 8:54
  that's
• 8:55
  the
• 8:55
  difference
• 8:55
  from
• 8:55
  a
• 8:55
  blow
• 8:56
  and
• 8:56
  go,
• 8:56
  horrible
• 8:57
  paint
• 8:57
  job
• 8:58
  and
• 8:58
  somebody
• 8:58
  that
• 8:58
  went
• 8:59
  around
• 8:59
  and
• 8:59
  did
• 8:59
  all
• 9:00
  the
• 9:00
  prep.
• 9:01
  The
• 9:01
  prep
• 9:01
  usually
• 9:02
  takes
• 9:02
  longer
• 9:02
  than
• 9:02
  the
• 9:03
  paint
• 9:04
  and
• 9:04
  making
• 9:04
  sure
• 9:05
  things
• 9:05
  are
• 9:05
  sealed
• 9:05
  up,
• 9:06
  caulked
• 9:06
  in.
• 9:07
  Don't
• 9:07
  caulk
• 9:08
  things
• 9:08
  that
• 9:08
  don't
• 9:08
  need
• 9:08
  it.
• 9:09
  Like
• 9:09
  for
• 9:09
  instance,
• 9:10
  you'll
• 9:10
  see
• 9:10
  people
• 9:11
  go
• 9:11
  around
• 9:11
  and
• 9:11
  they've
• 9:11
  got
• 9:12
  brick
• 9:12
  weep
• 9:12
  holes
• 9:13
  or
• 9:13
  things
• 9:13
  like
• 9:13
  that.
• 9:13
  Make
• 9:14
  sure
• 9:14
  you
• 9:14
  understand
• 9:14
  what
• 9:14
  you're
• 9:15
  caulking
• 9:15
  around
• 9:16
  the
• 9:16
  windows.
• 9:17
  Get
• 9:17
  that
• 9:18
  stuff.
• 9:18
  And
• 9:18
  now
• 9:18
  the
• 9:18
  one
• 9:18
  secret
• 9:19
  with
• 9:19
  the
• 9:19
  big
• 9:19
  stretch
• 9:20
  made
• 9:20
  by
• 9:20
  Sashco,
• 9:21
  you
• 9:21
  get
• 9:21
  that
• 9:22
  Lowe's
• 9:22
  and
• 9:22
  some
• 9:22
  other
• 9:22
  places
• 9:23
  across
• 9:23
  the
• 9:23
  country.
• 9:24
  What
• 9:24
  I
• 9:24
  like
• 9:25
  about
• 9:25
  that
• 9:25
  stuff
• 9:25
  is
• 9:25
  that
• 9:26
  when
• 9:26
  you
• 9:26
  use
• 9:26
  it,
• 9:27
  you
• 9:27
  want
• 9:27
  to
• 9:27
  have
• 9:27
  a
• 9:28
  little
• 9:28
  bit
• 9:28
  bigger
• 9:28
  gap
• 9:29
  if
• 9:29
  you
• 9:29
  can
• 9:29
  get
• 9:29
  it
• 9:30
  because
• 9:30
  it
• 9:30
  gives
• 9:31
  more
• 9:31
  room
• 9:31
  to
• 9:31
  stretch.
• 9:31
  So
• 9:32
  the
• 9:32
  little
• 9:32
  wider
• 9:33
  gap
• 9:33
  that
• 9:33
  you
• 9:34
  have,
• 9:34
  you
• 9:34
  fill
• 9:34
  that
• 9:35
  up
• 9:35
  with
• 9:35
  that.
• 9:36
  If
• 9:36
  the
• 9:36
  material
• 9:36
  is
• 9:37
  slightly
• 9:37
  wider,
• 9:37
  it
• 9:38
  will
• 9:38
  stretch
• 9:38
  really
• 9:39
  well.
• 9:39
  That
• 9:40
  can
• 9:40
  save
• 9:40
  you
• 9:41
  a
• 9:41
  lot
• 9:41
  of
• 9:41
  time.
• 9:41
  I
• 9:41
  have
• 9:42
  to
• 9:42
  come
• 9:42
  back
• 9:42
  and
• 9:42
  do
• 9:42
  it.
• 9:42
  I've
• 9:43
  used
• 9:43
  that
• 9:43
  stuff
• 9:43
  in
• 9:43
  the
• 9:43
  outside
• 9:44
  of
• 9:44
  my
• 9:44
  house.
• 9:44
  I
• 9:44
  have
• 9:44
  a
• 9:44
  black
• 9:45
  house.
• 9:45
  So
• 9:46
  it's
• 9:46
  cold
• 9:46
  in
• 9:46
  the
• 9:46
  wintertime,
• 9:47
  it's
• 9:47
  hot
• 9:48
  in
• 9:48
  the
• 9:48
  summertime.
• 9:48
  When
• 9:48
  it
• 9:49
  does
• 9:49
  get
• 9:49
  a
• 9:49
  little
• 9:49
  direct
• 9:49
  sun
• 9:50
  and
• 9:50
  it
• 9:50
  moves
• 9:51
  well.
• 9:51
  And
• 9:51
  I
• 9:51
  haven't
• 9:51
  had
• 9:52
  to
• 9:52
  go
• 9:52
  back
• 9:52
  and
• 9:52
  recall
• 9:53
  in
• 9:53
  the
• 9:53
  last
• 9:53
  few
• 9:53
  years.
• 9:54
  So
• 9:54
  it's
• 9:54
  really
• 9:54
  nice
• 9:54
  stuff.
• 9:55
  So
• 9:56
  take
• 9:56
  a
• 9:56
  look
• 9:56
  at
• 9:56
  that
• 9:57
  stuff.
• 9:57
  It
• 9:57
  works
• 9:57
  out
• 9:57
  really
• 9:57
  well.
• 9:58
  Called
• 9:58
  big
• 9:58
  stretch.
• 9:59
  It's
• 9:59
  super
• 10:00
  flexible,
• 10:01
  which
• 10:01
  means
• 10:02
  it's
• 10:02
  not
• 10:02
  going
• 10:02
  to
• 10:02
  split,
• 10:03
  peel
• 10:04
  off
• 10:04
  and
• 10:04
  you're
• 10:04
  gonna
• 10:04
  have
• 10:05
  to
• 10:05
  deal
• 10:05
  with
• 10:05
  it
• 10:05
  later.
• 10:05
  So
• 10:06
  make
• 10:06
  sure
• 10:06
  you
• 10:06
  get
• 10:06
  that
• 10:06
  dialed
• 10:07
  in.
• 10:07
  And
• 10:07
  then
• 10:07
  of
• 10:08
  course,
• 10:08
  before
• 10:09
  you
• 10:09
  go
• 10:10
  in
• 10:10
  and
• 10:10
  paint
• 10:11
  it,
• 10:11
  make
• 10:12
  sure
• 10:12
  before
• 10:12
  you
• 10:12
  prime,
• 10:13
  before
• 10:13
  you
• 10:13
  paint,
• 10:13
  make
• 10:13
  sure
• 10:13
  you
• 10:14
  get
• 10:14
  everything
• 10:14
  clean.
• 10:15
  If
• 10:15
  you're
• 10:15
  out
• 10:15
  there
• 10:15
  with
• 10:16
  a
• 10:16
  leaf
• 10:16
  blower
• 10:16
  blowing
• 10:17
  around,
• 10:17
  get
• 10:17
  all
• 10:17
  the
• 10:17
  dust
• 10:18
  off
• 10:18
  of
• 10:18
  it,
• 10:18
  get
• 10:18
  all
• 10:18
  your
• 10:19
  stuff
• 10:19
  scraped
• 10:19
  up
• 10:20
  and
• 10:20
  make
• 10:20
  sure
• 10:20
  it's
• 10:21
  looking
• 10:21
  good.
• 10:22
  And
• 10:22
  then
• 10:22
  you
• 10:22
  can
• 10:22
  go
• 10:22
  around
• 10:23
  and
• 10:23
  mask
• 10:23
  or
• 10:23
  do
• 10:24
  whatever
• 10:24
  you're
• 10:24
  going
• 10:24
  to
• 10:24
  do
• 10:25
  on
• 10:25
  the
• 10:25
  paint
• 10:26
  stuff.
• 10:26
  Now
• 10:27
  we'll
• 10:27
  talk
• 10:27
  about
• 10:27
  that
• 10:27
  just
• 10:28
  as
• 10:28
  soon
• 10:28
  as
• 10:28
  around
• 10:28
  the
• 10:29
  House
• 10:29
  returns.
• 10:29
  To
• 10:29
  find
• 10:30
  out
• 10:30
  more
• 10:30
  about
• 10:30
  us,
• 10:31
  head
• 10:31
  to
• 10:31
  aroundthehouse
• 10:32
  online
• 10:33
  dot
• 10:33
  com.
• 10:34
  We'll
• 10:34
  be
• 10:34
  right
• 10:34
  back.
• 10:34
  Don't
• 10:35
  change
• 10:35
  that
• 10:35
  dial.
• 12:08
  These
• 12:08
  days
• 12:08
  will
• 12:09
  never
• 12:10
  understand
• 12:13
  what
• 12:13
  it's
• 12:13
  like
• 12:14
  to
• 12:14
  play
• 12:14
  an
• 12:15
  instrument,
• 12:16
  to
• 12:16
  be
• 12:17
  in
• 12:17
  a
• 12:17
  band.
• 12:18
  What's
• 12:19
  up?
• 12:19
  This
• 12:19
  is
• 12:19
  Sticksy,
• 12:20

  really
• 13:37
  the
• 13:37
  next
• 13:38
  big
• 13:38
  thing
• 13:38
  that
• 13:38
  I
• 13:38
  want
• 13:39
  to
• 13:39
  make
• 13:39
  sure
• 13:39
  is
• 13:39
  when
• 13:39
  you're
• 13:40
  priming
• 13:40
  that,
• 13:40
  I
• 13:40
  want
• 13:40
  to
• 13:40
  make
• 13:41
  sure
• 13:41
  that
• 13:41
  that
• 13:41
  primer
• 13:41
  is
• 13:42
  going
• 13:42
  to
• 13:42
  be
• 13:42
  compatible
• 13:43
  with
• 13:44
  the
• 13:44
  paint
• 13:44
  that
• 13:44
  you're
• 13:44
  putting
• 13:45
  on
• 13:45
  the
• 13:45
  home.
• 13:46
  And
• 13:46
  yeah,
• 13:46
  it
• 13:46
  makes
• 13:47
  a
• 13:47
  difference.
• 13:48
  If
• 13:48
  I
• 13:48
  have
• 13:48
  a
• 13:49
  Sherwin
• 13:49
  Williams
• 13:50
  paint,
• 13:50
  I
• 13:50
  like
• 13:50
  to
• 13:50
  use
• 13:51
  a
• 13:51
  Sherwin
• 13:51
  Williams
• 13:52
  primer.
• 13:53
  If
• 13:53
  I'm
• 13:53
  in
• 13:53
  the
• 13:53
  Pacific
• 13:54
  Northwest
• 13:54
  where
• 13:55
  I
• 13:55
  am,
• 13:55
  and
• 13:56
  it's
• 13:56
  Miller
• 13:57
  or
• 13:57
  Rada,
• 13:58
  same
• 13:58
  kind
• 13:58
  of
• 13:58
  thing,
• 13:59
  it's
• 13:59
  Benjamin
• 14:00
  Moore.
• 14:00
  I
• 14:00
  think
• 14:00
  using
• 14:01
  the
• 14:01
  same
• 14:01
  system
• 14:01
  throughout
• 14:02
  is
• 14:02
  going
• 14:02
  to
• 14:02
  be
• 14:02
  your
• 14:02
  safest
• 14:03
  bet
• 14:03
  because
• 14:04
  we
• 14:04
  know
• 14:04
  that
• 14:05
  those
• 14:05
  two
• 14:05
  companies
• 14:06
  have
• 14:07
  formulated
• 14:07
  those
• 14:07
  to
• 14:08
  work
• 14:08
  together,
• 14:09
  and
• 14:09
  that's
• 14:10
  really
• 14:10
  where
• 14:10
  you
• 14:10
  can
• 14:10
  get
• 14:11
  the
• 14:11
  best
• 14:12
  adhesion,
• 14:12
  the
• 14:13
  best
• 14:13
  issues,
• 14:14
  and
• 14:14
  the
• 14:14
  best
• 14:15
  backing
• 14:16
  behind
• 14:16
  that.
• 14:17
  Now,
• 14:17
  when
• 14:18
  it
• 14:18
  comes
• 14:18
  to
• 14:18
  paint,
• 14:19
  there
• 14:19
  is
• 14:20
  one
• 14:20
  thing
• 14:20
  that
• 14:20
  you
• 14:20
  can
• 14:21
  make.
• 14:21
  The
• 14:21
  biggest
• 14:21
  mistake
• 14:22
  when
• 14:22
  you're
• 14:22
  painting,
• 14:22
  especially
• 14:23
  outside,
• 14:24
  is
• 14:24
  buying
• 14:24
  the
• 14:24
  cheap
• 14:25
  stuff
• 14:26
  that
• 14:26
  will
• 14:27
  cost
• 14:27
  you
• 14:27
  more
• 14:27
  money
• 14:28
  every
• 14:28
  single
• 14:29
  time.
• 14:29
  Because
• 14:30
  here's
• 14:30
  what
• 14:30
  happens.
• 14:31
  You
• 14:31
  want
• 14:31
  to
• 14:31
  get
• 14:31
  at
• 14:32
  least
• 14:32
  a
• 14:32
  mid
• 14:33
  grade
• 14:33
  on
• 14:33
  up.
• 14:35
  So
• 14:35
  if
• 14:35
  they
• 14:35
  have
• 14:35
  a
• 14:36
  level
• 14:36
  one,
• 14:37
  which
• 14:37
  is
• 14:37
  the
• 14:37
  cheapest
• 14:38
  house
• 14:38
  flipper
• 14:38
  paint.
• 14:39
  Number
• 14:39
  two
• 14:40
  is
• 14:40
  they're
• 14:40
  good.
• 14:41
  Number
• 14:42
  three
• 14:42
  is
• 14:42
  they're
• 14:42
  better.
• 14:43
  Number
• 14:44
  four
• 14:44
  is
• 14:44
  their
• 14:45
  premium.
• 14:46
  If
• 14:46
  you're
• 14:46
  gonna
• 14:47
  live
• 14:47
  there
• 14:47
  more
• 14:47
  than
• 14:48
  a
• 14:48
  few
• 14:48
  months,
• 14:48
  you
• 14:49
  want
• 14:49
  to
• 14:49
  go
• 14:49
  with
• 14:49
  the
• 14:50
  number
• 14:50
  three,
• 14:51
  which
• 14:51
  is
• 14:51
  that
• 14:51
  better
• 14:52
  one
• 14:53
  that
• 14:53
  will
• 14:53
  save
• 14:53
  you
• 14:54
  the
• 14:54
  most
• 14:54
  money
• 14:55
  every
• 14:55
  single
• 14:55
  time.
• 14:56
  Now,
• 14:56
  if
• 14:56
  you're
• 14:56
  using
• 14:56
  a
• 14:57
  specialty
• 14:57
  color
• 14:57
  like
• 14:58
  reds
• 14:58
  or
• 14:58
  blacks
• 14:58
  or
• 14:59
  something
• 14:59
  like
• 14:59
  that,
• 15:00
  you
• 15:00
  might
• 15:00
  want
• 15:00
  to
• 15:00
  go
• 15:00
  to
• 15:00
  the
• 15:01
  next
• 15:01
  step
• 15:01
  up
• 15:01
  because
• 15:01
  it's
• 15:01
  going
• 15:02
  to
• 15:02
  give
• 15:02
  you
• 15:02
  more
• 15:02
  durability,
• 15:03
  more
• 15:03
  washability,
• 15:04
  and
• 15:05
  it's
• 15:05
  going
• 15:05
  to
• 15:05
  last
• 15:05
  longer
• 15:06
  with
• 15:06
  that
• 15:07
  bright
• 15:07
  color.
• 15:08
  With
• 15:08
  whatever
• 15:09
  you're
• 15:09
  doing.
• 15:10
  Now,
• 15:10
  where
• 15:10
  it
• 15:10
  gets
• 15:11
  expensive
• 15:11
  is
• 15:11
  if
• 15:11
  you
• 15:12
  buy
• 15:12
  that
• 15:12
  number
• 15:12
  one
• 15:13
  house
• 15:13
  flipper
• 15:14
  paint,
• 15:14
  you'll
• 15:15
  probably
• 15:15
  need
• 15:16
  twice
• 15:16
  as
• 15:16
  much
• 15:17
  paint
• 15:17
  to
• 15:17
  get
• 15:17
  the
• 15:17
  job
• 15:18
  done.
• 15:18
  The
• 15:19
  problem
• 15:19
  being,
• 15:20
  yeah,
• 15:20
  you
• 15:21
  need
• 15:21
  twice
• 15:21
  the
• 15:21
  paint,
• 15:22
  but
• 15:22
  you're
• 15:22
  not
• 15:22
  saving
• 15:23
  half
• 15:23
  by
• 15:23
  it.
• 15:23
  So
• 15:24
  you're
• 15:24
  going
• 15:24
  to
• 15:24
  pay
• 15:24
  more
• 15:24
  money
• 15:25
  and
• 15:25
  do
• 15:25
  twice
• 15:25
  the
• 15:26
  work
• 15:27
  for
• 15:27
  buying
• 15:27
  that
• 15:28
  cheap
• 15:28
  paint.
• 15:29
  So
• 15:29
  never
• 15:30
  buy
• 15:30
  the
• 15:31
  cheap
• 15:31
  paint.
• 15:31
  It
• 15:31
  will
• 15:32
  cost
• 15:32
  you
• 15:32
  every
• 15:33
  single
• 15:33
  time.
• 15:34
  So
• 15:34
  if
• 15:35
  you
• 15:35
  can't
• 15:35
  afford
• 15:35
  to
• 15:35
  paint
• 15:36
  it,
• 15:36
  hold
• 15:36
  off,
• 15:37
  save
• 15:38
  up,
• 15:39
  get
• 15:39
  the
• 15:39
  money
• 15:39
  you
• 15:39
  need
• 15:40
  and
• 15:40
  then
• 15:40
  do
• 15:40
  it.
• 15:41
  Because
• 15:41
  that
• 15:41
  cheap
• 15:42
  paint
• 15:42
  will
• 15:42
  cost
• 15:42
  you.
• 15:43
  I
• 15:43
  don't
• 15:44
  have
• 15:44
  a
• 15:44
  good
• 15:44
  reason
• 15:44
  to
• 15:45
  ever
• 15:45
  use
• 15:45
  that
• 15:45
  stuff.
• 15:45
  Unless
• 15:46
  you
• 15:46
  just
• 15:46
  need
• 15:46
  a
• 15:46
  gallon
• 15:47
  for
• 15:47
  painting
• 15:47
  a
• 15:47
  shed
• 15:47
  you
• 15:48
  don't
• 15:48
  care
• 15:48
  about.
• 15:49
  And
• 15:50
  it's
• 15:50
  a
• 15:51
  throwaway
• 15:51
  type
• 15:51
  project.
• 15:52
  I
• 15:52
  get
• 15:52
  it.
• 15:53
  But
• 15:53
  I
• 15:53
  tell
• 15:54
  you
• 15:54
  what,
• 15:54
  anytime
• 15:54
  that
• 15:55
  you're
• 15:55
  doing
• 15:55
  something,
• 15:55
  paint
• 15:56
  on
• 15:56
  something
• 15:56
  that's
• 15:57
  a
• 15:57
  investment,
• 15:58
  like
• 15:58
  your
• 15:58
  home.
• 15:59
  Get
• 16:00
  the
• 16:00
  better
• 16:00
  stuff,
• 16:01
  if
• 16:01
  not
• 16:01
  the
• 16:01
  best.
• 16:02
  It
• 16:03
  pays
• 16:03
  for
• 16:03
  itself
• 16:04
  every
• 16:04
  time.
• 16:04
  Unless
• 16:05
  you
• 16:05
  like
• 16:05
  painting
• 16:06
  again
• 16:06
  or
• 16:06
  having
• 16:07
  adhesion
• 16:07
  problems
• 16:08
  or
• 16:08
  all
• 16:08
  the
• 16:08
  Other
• 16:08
  things
• 16:08
  that
• 16:09
  can
• 16:09
  happen
• 16:09
  with
• 16:09
  fade.
• 16:10
  And
• 16:11
  when
• 16:11
  you've
• 16:11
  got
• 16:11
  a
• 16:12
  mat
• 16:12
  that
• 16:12
  makes
• 16:12
  a
• 16:13
  difference
• 16:13
  too,
• 16:14
  spend
• 16:14
  a
• 16:14
  little
• 16:15
  bit
• 16:15
  more.
• 16:15
  Because
• 16:16
  I
• 16:16
  tell
• 16:16
  you
• 16:16
  what.
• 16:17
  Yeah,
• 16:17
  I
• 16:17
  have
• 16:18
  seen
• 16:18
  people
• 16:18
  spend
• 16:18
  twice
• 16:19
  as
• 16:19
  much
• 16:19
  money
• 16:20
  because
• 16:20
  they
• 16:20
  spent
• 16:21
  too
• 16:21
  little
• 16:22
  on
• 16:22
  the
• 16:22
  paint
• 16:22
  and
• 16:23
  had
• 16:23
  to
• 16:23
  keep
• 16:23
  going
• 16:24
  back
• 16:24
  for
• 16:24
  more
• 16:24
  and
• 16:24
  more.
• 16:25
  Now
• 16:26
  what
• 16:26
  I
• 16:26
  recommend
• 16:27
  for
• 16:27
  most
• 16:27
  homes
• 16:28
  out
• 16:28
  there,
• 16:29
  depending
• 16:29
  on
• 16:29
  the
• 16:30
  material,
• 16:30
  but
• 16:31
  usually
• 16:31
  for
• 16:32
  most
• 16:32
  homes
• 16:32
  I
• 16:33
  recommend
• 16:34
  if
• 16:35
  it's
• 16:35
  an
• 16:35
  older
• 16:35
  paint
• 16:36
  job,
• 16:36
  like
• 16:36
  over
• 16:37
  10
• 16:37
  years,
• 16:38
  or
• 16:38
  if
• 16:38
  you've
• 16:38
  got
• 16:38
  some
• 16:39
  issues
• 16:39
  with
• 16:39
  cracking
• 16:40
  and
• 16:40
  things
• 16:40
  like
• 16:40
  that,
• 16:40
  I
• 16:41
  recommend
• 16:41
  a
• 16:41
  primer
• 16:42
  and
• 16:42
  then
• 16:43
  two
• 16:43
  coats
• 16:43
  of
• 16:43
  paint
• 16:44
  and
• 16:44
  not
• 16:45
  the
• 16:45
  all
• 16:45
  in
• 16:45
  one.
• 16:45
  The
• 16:46
  all
• 16:46
  in
• 16:46
  one
• 16:46
  doesn't
• 16:46
  do
• 16:47
  much
• 16:47
  good.
• 16:48
  Yeah,
• 16:48
  I
• 16:48
  might
• 16:48
  be
• 16:49
  a
• 16:49
  little
• 16:49
  better
• 16:49
  on
• 16:49
  coverage,
• 16:50
  but
• 16:51
  it's
• 16:51
  not
• 16:51
  a
• 16:51
  primer,
• 16:52
  but
• 16:53
  it's
• 16:53
  a
• 16:53
  paint.
• 16:54
  So
• 16:54
  there
• 16:54
  is
• 16:55
  not
• 16:55
  an
• 16:55
  all
• 16:55
  in
• 16:55
  one
• 16:55
  that
• 16:56
  I
• 16:56
  will
• 16:56
  swear
• 16:56
  by
• 16:56
  out
• 16:56
  there.
• 16:57
  It
• 16:57
  just
• 16:57
  doesn't
• 16:58
  work
• 16:58
  that
• 16:58
  way.
• 16:59
  You
• 16:59
  want
• 16:59
  to
• 16:59
  have
• 17:00
  that
• 17:00
  primer
• 17:00
  first
• 17:00
  and
• 17:01
  like
• 17:01
  I
• 17:01
  said
• 17:01
  in
• 17:01
  the
• 17:01
  last
• 17:01
  segment,
• 17:02
  have
• 17:02
  it
• 17:02
  tinted
• 17:03
  to
• 17:03
  match
• 17:03
  if
• 17:03
  they'll
• 17:04
  do
• 17:04
  it
• 17:04
  for
• 17:04
  you
• 17:05
  and
• 17:05
  that
• 17:05
  will
• 17:05
  help
• 17:06
  you
• 17:06
  out.
• 17:07
  But
• 17:07
  really
• 17:07
  I
• 17:07
  want
• 17:08
  to
• 17:08
  see
• 17:08
  you
• 17:08
  if
• 17:08
  you're
• 17:08
  spraying
• 17:09
  the
• 17:09
  house.
• 17:09
  Awesome.
• 17:10
  I
• 17:10
  want
• 17:10
  to
• 17:11
  see
• 17:11
  you
• 17:11
  spraying
• 17:11
  it
• 17:11
  and
• 17:12
  then
• 17:12
  back
• 17:12
  rolling
• 17:13
  it
• 17:13
  with
• 17:14
  a
• 17:14
  roller.
• 17:14
  So
• 17:14
  you
• 17:14
  make
• 17:15
  sure
• 17:15
  that
• 17:15
  you're
• 17:15
  driving
• 17:16
  that
• 17:16
  paint
• 17:16
  in
• 17:16
  and
• 17:16
  you
• 17:16
  get
• 17:17
  the
• 17:17
  best
• 17:17
  adhesion
• 17:18
  and
• 17:18
  it
• 17:18
  lays
• 17:19
  out
• 17:19
  correctly.
• 17:20
  So
• 17:20
  it's
• 17:20
  a
• 17:21
  great
• 17:21
  two
• 17:21
  person
• 17:21
  job,
• 17:22
  one
• 17:22
  person
• 17:23
  spraying,
• 17:24
  one
• 17:24
  person
• 17:24
  back
• 17:25
  rolling
• 17:25
  behind
• 17:25
  you.
• 17:26
  And
• 17:26
  you
• 17:26
  can
• 17:26
  just
• 17:27
  start
• 17:27
  chasing
• 17:27
  that
• 17:27
  house
• 17:28
  all
• 17:28
  around
• 17:29
  it
• 17:29
  and
• 17:29
  it'll
• 17:29
  go
• 17:30
  pretty
• 17:30
  quick,
• 17:31
  especially
• 17:31
  if
• 17:32
  you've
• 17:32
  got
• 17:32
  things
• 17:32
  masked
• 17:33
  off
• 17:33
  or
• 17:34
  if
• 17:34
  you've
• 17:34
  got
• 17:34
  some
• 17:34
  good.
• 17:35
  Basically
• 17:36
  you
• 17:36
  can
• 17:36
  use
• 17:37
  paint
• 17:37
  spray
• 17:37
  panels
• 17:38
  that
• 17:38
  you
• 17:38
  hold
• 17:38
  up
• 17:39
  and
• 17:39
  it's
• 17:39
  basically
• 17:40
  like
• 17:40
  a
• 17:41
  long
• 17:41
  rectangle
• 17:42
  and
• 17:42
  you
• 17:42
  can
• 17:43
  mask
• 17:43
  off
• 17:43
  with
• 17:43
  that,
• 17:44
  not
• 17:44
  have
• 17:44
  to
• 17:44
  cover
• 17:44
  everything
• 17:45
  up,
• 17:45
  but
• 17:46
  you
• 17:46
  can
• 17:46
  mask
• 17:46
  off
• 17:46
  and
• 17:47
  not
• 17:47
  have
• 17:47
  to
• 17:47
  do
• 17:47
  as
• 17:47
  much
• 17:48
  taping
• 17:49
  and
• 17:49
  papering
• 17:50
  and
• 17:50
  all
• 17:51
  that
• 17:51
  stuff
• 17:51
  to
• 17:51
  do
• 17:51
  it.
• 17:52
  But
• 17:53
  prep
• 17:53
  is
• 17:53
  big
• 17:53
  and
• 17:54
  yes,
• 17:54
  all
• 17:54
  it
• 17:55
  takes
• 17:55
  is
• 17:55
  a
• 17:55
  slight
• 17:56
  little
• 17:56
  breeze
• 17:58
  for
• 17:58
  that
• 17:59
  paint
• 17:59
  sprayer
• 18:00
  to
• 18:00
  be
• 18:00
  blowing
• 18:00
  stuff
• 18:01
  around
• 18:01
  and
• 18:02
  get
• 18:02
  on
• 18:02
  other
• 18:02
  stuff.
• 18:03
  So
• 18:03
  be
• 18:03
  really
• 18:03
  careful.
• 18:04
  When
• 18:04
  in
• 18:04
  doubt,
• 18:04
  buy
• 18:05
  some
• 18:05
  more
• 18:05
  plastic.
• 18:05
  Get
• 18:05
  a
• 18:06
  couple
• 18:06
  blue
• 18:06
  tarps
• 18:06
  from
• 18:07
  your
• 18:07
  favorite
• 18:08
  import
• 18:08
  store
• 18:08
  like
• 18:09
  Harbor
• 18:09
  Freight,
• 18:09
  whatever
• 18:10
  you're
• 18:10
  going
• 18:10
  to
• 18:10
  do,
• 18:10
  and
• 18:11
  protect
• 18:11
  everything
• 18:12
  first
• 18:12
  because
• 18:12
  it's
• 18:12
  a
• 18:13
  lot
• 18:13
  harder
• 18:13
  to
• 18:13
  go
• 18:13
  out
• 18:14
  and
• 18:14
  get
• 18:14
  that
• 18:14
  stuff
• 18:15
  later
• 18:15
  when
• 18:15
  you
• 18:15
  realized
• 18:16
  what
• 18:16
  happened.
• 18:17
  So
• 18:17
  take
• 18:18
  the
• 18:18
  time
• 18:18
  on
• 18:18
  that,
• 18:19
  make
• 18:19
  sure
• 18:19
  you
• 18:20
  get
• 18:20
  that
• 18:20
  dialed
• 18:20
  in
• 18:21
  and
• 18:21
  you'll
• 18:22
  be
• 18:22
  good
• 18:22
  to
• 18:22
  go.
• 18:23
  And
• 18:23
  a
• 18:23
  little
• 18:24
  bit
• 18:24
  goes
• 18:24
  a
• 18:24
  long
• 18:24
  ways.
• 18:25
  I
• 18:25
  like
• 18:25
  to
• 18:26
  paint
• 18:26
  the
• 18:27
  body
• 18:27
  first
• 18:28
  and
• 18:29
  then
• 18:29
  do
• 18:29
  the
• 18:29
  trim
• 18:30
  because
• 18:31
  that
• 18:31
  way
• 18:31
  if
• 18:31
  I
• 18:31
  did
• 18:31
  get
• 18:32
  A
• 18:32
  little
• 18:32
  bit
• 18:32
  of
• 18:32
  overspray
• 18:33
  on
• 18:33
  it.
• 18:33
  When
• 18:34
  I'm
• 18:34
  painting
• 18:34
  it,
• 18:34
  it's
• 18:35
  not
• 18:35
  that
• 18:35
  big
• 18:35
  a
• 18:35
  deal.
• 18:35
  I
• 18:36
  can
• 18:36
  go
• 18:36
  back
• 18:36
  and
• 18:36
  touch
• 18:36
  it
• 18:36
  up
• 18:37
  and
• 18:37
  it'll
• 18:38
  be
• 18:38
  good
• 18:38
  to
• 18:38
  go.
• 18:39
  So
• 18:39
  that's
• 18:39
  the
• 18:40
  best
• 18:40
  way,
• 18:40
  in
• 18:40
  my
• 18:40
  opinion,
• 18:41
  to
• 18:41
  do
• 18:41
  it,
• 18:42
  Especially
• 18:42
  after
• 18:42
  you've
• 18:43
  done
• 18:43
  all
• 18:43
  that
• 18:43
  time
• 18:44
  and
• 18:44
  all
• 18:44
  that
• 18:44
  prep.
• 18:45
  Now,
• 18:45
  there's
• 18:46
  a
• 18:46
  ton
• 18:46
  of
• 18:46
  materials
• 18:47
  out
• 18:47
  there
• 18:47
  you
• 18:47
  can
• 18:47
  be
• 18:47
  painting.
• 18:48
  It
• 18:48
  could
• 18:48
  be
• 18:48
  cedar
• 18:48
  shakes.
• 18:49
  It
• 18:50
  could
• 18:50
  be
• 18:50
  your
• 18:51
  traditional
• 18:52
  fiber
• 18:52
  cement
• 18:53
  siding.
• 18:53
  It
• 18:53
  could
• 18:53
  be
• 18:54
  wood
• 18:54
  T111,
• 18:55
  which
• 18:55
  is
• 18:55
  the
• 18:56
  8
• 18:56
  inch
• 18:56
  or
• 18:56
  the
• 18:56
  4
• 18:57
  inch
• 18:57
  stripes
• 18:57
  of
• 18:57
  wood
• 18:58
  panels.
• 18:59
  It
• 18:59
  could
• 18:59
  be
• 19:00
  anything.
• 19:00
  Could
• 19:00
  be
• 19:00
  stucco.
• 19:01
  You
• 19:01
  just
• 19:02
  want
• 19:02
  to
• 19:02
  make
• 19:02
  sure
• 19:02
  you're
• 19:02
  using
• 19:02
  the
• 19:02
  right
• 19:03
  primer
• 19:03
  and
• 19:03
  the
• 19:03
  right
• 19:03
  paint
• 19:04
  for
• 19:04
  that.
• 19:05
  Now,
• 19:05
  there
• 19:06
  is
• 19:06
  one
• 19:06
  product
• 19:07
  I
• 19:07
  do
• 19:07
  not
• 19:08
  recommend
• 19:09
  painting
• 19:10
  and
• 19:11
  that
• 19:11
  is
• 19:11
  vinyl
• 19:12
  siding.
• 19:13
  I
• 19:13
  have
• 19:13
  never
• 19:14
  seen
• 19:14
  it
• 19:14
  look
• 19:15
  great,
• 19:16
  and
• 19:16
  here's
• 19:16
  why.
• 19:17
  Depending
• 19:18
  on
• 19:18
  your
• 19:18
  climate,
• 19:18
  if
• 19:19
  you
• 19:19
  have
• 19:19
  a
• 19:19
  climate
• 19:20
  that
• 19:20
  gets
• 19:20
  really
• 19:20
  cold
• 19:21
  and
• 19:21
  really
• 19:21
  hot,
• 19:22
  you'll
• 19:22
  be
• 19:23
  out
• 19:23
  there
• 19:23
  probably
• 19:23
  on
• 19:23
  a
• 19:24
  70
• 19:24
  degree
• 19:24
  day
• 19:25
  painting
• 19:25
  and
• 19:26
  prime
• 19:26
  it
• 19:26
  so
• 19:26
  you'll
• 19:26
  be
• 19:27
  following
• 19:27
  the
• 19:27
  manufacturer's
• 19:28
  directions
• 19:28
  in
• 19:28
  the
• 19:28
  paint.
• 19:29
  And
• 19:29
  yes,
• 19:30
  companies
• 19:30
  like
• 19:30
  Sherwin
• 19:31
  Williams
• 19:31
  do
• 19:32
  make
• 19:33
  a
• 19:33
  paint
• 19:33
  that
• 19:33
  will
• 19:33
  paint
• 19:34
  vinyl
• 19:35
  siding.
• 19:35
  But
• 19:36
  the
• 19:36
  problem
• 19:36
  is
• 19:36
  vinyl
• 19:36
  siding
• 19:37
  sits
• 19:37
  there
• 19:37
  and
• 19:37
  expands
• 19:38
  and
• 19:38
  contracts
• 19:38
  and
• 19:39
  gets
• 19:39
  really
• 19:39
  tough
• 19:40
  because
• 19:41
  it's
• 19:41
  meant
• 19:41
  to
• 19:42
  expand
• 19:42
  and
• 19:42
  contract.
• 19:42
  So
• 19:43
  it's
• 19:43
  lapped.
• 19:44
  So
• 19:44
  you
• 19:44
  have
• 19:45
  one
• 19:45
  piece
• 19:45
  snapped
• 19:46
  over
• 19:46
  the
• 19:46
  other
• 19:46
  piece.
• 19:47
  If
• 19:47
  you're
• 19:47
  painting
• 19:48
  out
• 19:48
  there
• 19:48
  at
• 19:48
  70,
• 19:49
  I've
• 19:50
  seen
• 19:50
  it
• 19:50
  happen.
• 19:50
  All
• 19:51
  of
• 19:51
  a
• 19:51
  sudden
• 19:51
  it
• 19:51
  gets
• 19:52
  to
• 19:52
  be
• 19:52
  down
• 19:52
  below
• 19:52
  to
• 19:53
  zero
• 19:53
  and
• 19:53
  it
• 19:53
  shrinks.
• 19:54
  And
• 19:54
  now
• 19:55
  you've
• 19:55
  got
• 19:55
  a
• 19:55
  stripe
• 19:56
  everywhere.
• 19:56
  You
• 19:56
  have
• 19:56
  that
• 19:56
  overlap
• 19:57
  because
• 19:58
  it's
• 19:58
  not
• 19:58
  overlapped
• 19:59
  as
• 19:59
  much.
• 19:59
  So
• 19:59
  you'll
• 20:00
  see
• 20:00
  shadow
• 20:00
  lines,
• 20:01
  you'll
• 20:01
  see
• 20:01
  the
• 20:01
  old
• 20:01
  color.
• 20:02
  That
• 20:02
  can
• 20:03
  be
• 20:03
  an
• 20:03
  issue.
• 20:04
  The
• 20:04
  other
• 20:04
  issue
• 20:05
  is
• 20:05
  I
• 20:05
  don't
• 20:06
  ever
• 20:06
  recommend
• 20:07
  going
• 20:07
  darker
• 20:08
  because
• 20:08
  if
• 20:08
  you
• 20:09
  take
• 20:09
  it
• 20:09
  from
• 20:09
  a.
• 20:09
  A
• 20:10
  light
• 20:10
  white
• 20:11
  beige
• 20:12
  to
• 20:12
  a
• 20:12
  charcoal,
• 20:13
  half
• 20:13
  the
• 20:13
  time
• 20:14
  I've
• 20:14
  seen
• 20:14
  people
• 20:14
  get
• 20:14
  out
• 20:15
  there
• 20:15
  on
• 20:15
  the
• 20:15
  sun.
• 20:15
  They
• 20:15
  get
• 20:15
  it
• 20:15
  all
• 20:16
  done.
• 20:16
  When
• 20:16
  it
• 20:16
  gets
• 20:17
  to
• 20:17
  be
• 20:17
  80
• 20:17
  degrees
• 20:17
  and
• 20:17
  some
• 20:18
  direct
• 20:18
  sunlight,
• 20:18
  all
• 20:18
  of
• 20:19
  a
• 20:19
  sudden
• 20:19
  the
• 20:19
  stuff
• 20:19
  looks
• 20:19
  like
• 20:19
  you
• 20:20
  had
• 20:20
  a
• 20:20
  house
• 20:20
  fire
• 20:20
  next
• 20:20
  door.
• 20:21
  And
• 20:21
  it's
• 20:22
  all
• 20:22
  hanging
• 20:22
  off
• 20:23
  the
• 20:23
  side
• 20:23
  of
• 20:23
  the
• 20:23
  house
• 20:23
  because
• 20:24
  the
• 20:24
  heat
• 20:25
  or
• 20:25
  the
• 20:25
  reflection
• 20:26
  of
• 20:26
  the
• 20:26
  heat
• 20:26
  off
• 20:27
  of
• 20:27
  a
• 20:28
  driveway
• 20:28
  or
• 20:29
  the
• 20:29
  neighbor's
• 20:29
  windows
• 20:30
  or
• 20:30
  whatever
• 20:31
  that
• 20:31
  reflection
• 20:32
  is,
• 20:33
  it
• 20:33
  now
• 20:33
  overheats.
• 20:34
  What's
• 20:34
  going
• 20:34
  on
• 20:35
  there?
• 20:35
  And
• 20:35
  now
• 20:36
  you've
• 20:36
  got
• 20:36
  melted
• 20:37
  vinyl
• 20:37
  siding,
• 20:38
  which
• 20:38
  means
• 20:38
  you're
• 20:38
  just
• 20:39
  going
• 20:39
  to
• 20:39
  pull
• 20:39
  it
• 20:39
  off
• 20:39
  and
• 20:39
  throw
• 20:40
  it
• 20:40
  away
• 20:40
  around

• 22:58
  so
• 22:58
  we've

  talking
• 22:59
  about
• 22:59

• 22:59
  painting.
• 22:59
  One
• 23:00
  last
• 23:00
  thing
• 23:00
  I
• 23:00
  wanted
• 23:00
  to
• 23:01
  talk
• 23:01
  about
• 23:01
  was
• 23:01
  watching
• 23:02
  your
• 23:02
  weather
• 23:03
  forecast.
• 23:04
  Springtime
• 23:04
  can
• 23:05
  be
• 23:05
  nasty
• 23:05
  for
• 23:06
  outside
• 23:06
  painting
• 23:06
  projects.
• 23:08
  You
• 23:08
  don't
• 23:08
  want
• 23:08
  that
• 23:09
  morning
• 23:09
  dew
• 23:10
  where
• 23:11
  things
• 23:11
  get
• 23:12
  too
• 23:12
  moist
• 23:12
  and
• 23:12
  the
• 23:12
  paint
• 23:13
  doesn't
• 23:13
  cure.
• 23:14
  And
• 23:14
  maybe
• 23:14
  you're
• 23:14
  painting
• 23:15
  last
• 23:15
  night
• 23:15
  and
• 23:16
  it
• 23:16
  was
• 23:16
  cool.
• 23:17
  Cool
• 23:17
  weather
• 23:18
  does
• 23:18
  not
• 23:18
  cure
• 23:18
  paint
• 23:19
  well,
• 23:19
  and
• 23:20
  especially
• 23:20
  if
• 23:20
  you're

  getting
• 23:21
  under
• 23:21

• 23:22

• 23:22
  So

  the
• 23:23

• 23:23
  of

  that

  you're

  and
• 23:25
  if
• 23:25
  that
• 23:26
  low
• 23:26
  temperature
• 23:27
  during
• 23:27
  the
• 23:27

• 23:28
  is
• 23:28
  too
• 23:29
  low,
• 23:29
  that
• 23:29
  can
• 23:30
  cause
• 23:30
  problems
• 23:30
  like
• 23:31
  even
• 23:31
  here.
• 23:32
  This
• 23:32

• 23:32
  week
• 23:32
  in
• 23:33
  my
• 23:33
  area,
• 23:33
  we
• 23:33
  had
• 23:34
  some
• 23:34
  freeze
• 23:34
  warnings
• 23:35
  or
• 23:35
  we
• 23:35
  had
• 23:35
  some
• 23:36
  frost
• 23:37
  warnings
• 23:38
  that
• 23:38
  can
• 23:38
  be
• 23:38
  murder
• 23:39
  for
• 23:39
  paint
• 23:40
  if
• 23:40
  it's
• 23:40
  fresh.
• 23:41
  So
• 23:41
  make
• 23:41
  sure
• 23:42
  that
• 23:42
  you're
• 23:42
  above
• 23:42
  50
• 23:43
  degrees
• 23:43
  and
• 23:43
  it's
• 23:44
  going
• 23:44
  to
• 23:44
  be
• 23:44
  nice
• 23:44
  and
• 23:45
  dry
• 23:45
  for
• 23:46
  a
• 23:46
  few
• 23:46
  days.
• 23:46
  So
• 23:46
  that
• 23:46
  has
• 23:47
  a
• 23:47
  chance
• 23:48
  to
• 23:48
  dry.
• 23:49
  If
• 23:49
  you
• 23:49
  push
• 23:50
  it
• 23:50
  too
• 23:50
  much,
• 23:51
  what
• 23:52
  can
• 23:52
  happen
• 23:52
  is
• 23:52
  you
• 23:52
  can
• 23:52
  get
• 23:53
  moisture,
• 23:53
  you
• 23:53
  can
• 23:53
  get
• 23:54
  a
• 23:54
  little
• 23:54
  mist,
• 23:54
  whatever
• 23:55
  it
• 23:55
  is,
• 23:55
  a
• 23:56
  little
• 23:56
  breeze,
• 23:57
  and
• 23:57
  then
• 23:57
  you're
• 23:57
  going
• 23:57
  to
• 23:57
  have
• 23:58
  a
• 23:58
  blotchy
• 23:58
  paint
• 23:58
  job,
• 23:59
  which
• 23:59
  means
• 24:00
  you're
• 24:00
  going
• 24:00
  to
• 24:00
  have
• 24:00
  to
• 24:00
  let
• 24:00
  it
• 24:00
  cure
• 24:01
  and
• 24:01
  then
• 24:01
  go
• 24:01
  back
• 24:01
  and
• 24:02
  do
• 24:02
  another
• 24:02
  coat.
• 24:03
  And
• 24:04
  that
• 24:04
  can
• 24:04
  cost
• 24:04
  you
• 24:05
  hundreds
• 24:05
  or
• 24:06
  thousands
• 24:06
  of
• 24:06
  dollars
• 24:07
  to
• 24:08
  fix
• 24:08
  that
• 24:08
  once
• 24:08
  it's
• 24:09
  there.
• 24:09
  So
• 24:09
  make
• 24:09
  sure
• 24:09
  you
• 24:10
  got
• 24:10
  that
• 24:10
  dialed
• 24:10
  in
• 24:11
  and
• 24:11
  you'll
• 24:11
  feel
• 24:12
  a
• 24:12
  lot
• 24:12
  better
• 24:12
  about
• 24:12
  it
• 24:12
  and
• 24:12
  you'll
• 24:13
  be
• 24:13
  good
• 24:13
  to
• 24:13
  go.
• 24:14
  So
• 24:14
  watch
• 24:15
  your
• 24:15
  weather,
• 24:16
  watch
• 24:16
  your
• 24:16
  temperature
• 24:17
  and
• 24:18
  you'll
• 24:18
  be
• 24:18
  better
• 24:18
  off.
• 24:19
  Now
• 24:20
  the
• 24:20
  next
• 24:20
  thing
• 24:20
  I
• 24:20
  wanted
• 24:21
  to
• 24:21
  talk
• 24:21
  to
• 24:21
  you
• 24:21
  about
• 24:21
  was
• 24:22
  staining
• 24:22
  that
• 24:22
  deck.
• 24:23
  Now,
• 24:23
  a
• 24:23
  lot
• 24:24
  of
• 24:24
  people
• 24:24
  out
• 24:24
  there
• 24:24
  have
• 24:25
  been
• 24:25
  putting
• 24:25
  composites
• 24:25
  down,
• 24:26
  but
• 24:27
  there's
• 24:27
  a
• 24:27
  lot
• 24:27
  of
• 24:28
  people
• 24:28
  out
• 24:28
  there.
• 24:28
  I've
• 24:29
  got
• 24:29
  a
• 24:29
  wood
• 24:29
  deck
• 24:29
  out
• 24:30
  here
• 24:30
  that's
• 24:30
  made
• 24:30
  out
• 24:30
  of
• 24:30
  that
• 24:31
  Pressure
• 24:32
  treated.
• 24:32
  It's
• 24:32
  not
• 24:33
  the
• 24:33
  injected,
• 24:33
  but
• 24:33
  it's
• 24:34
  like
• 24:34
  the
• 24:34
  outdoor
• 24:34
  wood.
• 24:35
  It's
• 24:35
  got
• 24:35
  a
• 24:36
  few
• 24:36
  coats
• 24:36
  of
• 24:36
  paint
• 24:36
  on
• 24:37
  it.
• 24:37
  And
• 24:38
  I'm
• 24:38
  going
• 24:38
  to
• 24:38
  make
• 24:38
  it
• 24:39
  last
• 24:39
  a
• 24:39
  few
• 24:39
  more
• 24:39
  years,
• 24:39
  at
• 24:40
  least
• 24:40
  till
• 24:40
  I
• 24:40
  put
• 24:40
  the
• 24:40
  house
• 24:40
  up
• 24:41
  for
• 24:41
  sale.
• 24:41
  And
• 24:42
  that's
• 24:42
  not
• 24:42
  going
• 24:42
  to
• 24:42
  be
• 24:42
  a
• 24:43
  project
• 24:43
  I'm
• 24:43
  going
• 24:43
  to
• 24:43
  tackle
• 24:44
  anytime
• 24:44
  soon.
• 24:45
  So
• 24:45
  I'll
• 24:45
  be
• 24:45
  doing
• 24:46
  some
• 24:46
  repairs
• 24:46
  on
• 24:46
  that
• 24:47
  and
• 24:47
  putting
• 24:48
  one
• 24:48
  more
• 24:48
  coat
• 24:48
  over
• 24:49
  the
• 24:49
  top
• 24:49
  of
• 24:49
  it.
• 24:50
  But
• 24:50
  here's
• 24:51
  the
• 24:51
  thing.
• 24:52
  These
• 24:52
  type
• 24:52
  of
• 24:53
  projects
• 24:53
  take
• 24:53
  a
• 24:54
  lot
• 24:54
  of
• 24:54
  sanding,
• 24:54
  a
• 24:55
  lot
• 24:55
  of
• 24:55
  prep.
• 24:56
  And
• 24:56
  again,
• 24:57
  the
• 24:57
  first
• 24:57
  thing
• 24:57
  I
• 24:57
  want
• 24:57
  you
• 24:57
  to
• 24:58
  do
• 24:58
  is
• 24:58
  check
• 24:58
  your
• 24:58
  weather
• 24:59
  to
• 24:59
  make
• 24:59
  sure
• 24:59
  you're
• 24:59
  good.
• 25:00
  So
• 25:01
  most
• 25:01
  deck
• 25:02
  projects,
• 25:02
  when
• 25:03
  you're
• 25:03
  standing,
• 25:04
  that
• 25:04
  temperature
• 25:04
  needs
• 25:05
  to
• 25:05
  be
• 25:05
  under
• 25:05
  90
• 25:06
  and
• 25:06
  above
• 25:06
  50,
• 25:07
  so
• 25:07
  50
• 25:07
  to
• 25:07
  90
• 25:08
  degrees.
• 25:08
  And
• 25:09
  if
• 25:09
  not,
• 25:09
  you're
• 25:10
  going
• 25:10
  to
• 25:10
  have
• 25:10
  some
• 25:10
  issues.
• 25:12
  Now,
• 25:12
  I
• 25:12
  want
• 25:12
  to
• 25:12
  say
• 25:13
  that
• 25:13
  you
• 25:13
  need
• 25:13
  to
• 25:13
  watch
• 25:14
  for
• 25:15
  your
• 25:15
  area.
• 25:16
  If
• 25:16
  you're
• 25:17
  doing
• 25:17
  your
• 25:17
  deck,
• 25:17
  you
• 25:17
  might
• 25:18
  have
• 25:18
  to
• 25:18
  do
• 25:18
  it
• 25:18
  down
• 25:19
  in
• 25:19
  Florida
• 25:20
  way
• 25:20
  different
• 25:20
  than
• 25:20
  we
• 25:21
  do
• 25:21
  it
• 25:21
  up
• 25:21
  in
• 25:21
  the
• 25:21
  Pacific
• 25:21
  Northwest.
• 25:22
  But
• 25:22
  I'm
• 25:22
  going
• 25:22
  to
• 25:22
  give
• 25:22
  you
• 25:23
  here
• 25:23
  some
• 25:24
  of
• 25:24
  the
• 25:24
  general
• 25:24
  rules
• 25:24
  to
• 25:25
  watch.
• 25:25
  And
• 25:25
  always
• 25:25
  just
• 25:26
  make
• 25:26
  sure
• 25:26
  you're
• 25:26
  reading
• 25:26
  the
• 25:27
  directions
• 25:27
  of
• 25:27
  the
• 25:27
  material
• 25:28
  you're
• 25:28
  putting
• 25:28
  on
• 25:29
  to
• 25:29
  understand
• 25:30
  it.
• 25:31
  I
• 25:31
  like
• 25:31
  to
• 25:31
  do
• 25:32
  early
• 25:32
  morning
• 25:32
  or
• 25:32
  late
• 25:33
  afternoon
• 25:33
  on
• 25:33
  stains
• 25:34
  so
• 25:34
  it's
• 25:34
  not
• 25:35
  causing
• 25:36
  any
• 25:36
  issues,
• 25:37
  because
• 25:37
  that
• 25:38
  hot
• 25:38
  surface
• 25:38
  can
• 25:38
  cause
• 25:39
  bubbling
• 25:40
  or
• 25:40
  worse.
• 25:41
  So
• 25:41
  you
• 25:41
  want
• 25:41
  to
• 25:41
  make
• 25:42
  sure
• 25:42
  that
• 25:42
  it's
• 25:42
  not
• 25:43
  being
• 25:43
  placed
• 25:44
  in
• 25:45
  the
• 25:45
  middle
• 25:45
  of
• 25:45
  the
• 25:45
  day
• 25:45
  when
• 25:45
  you
• 25:45
  have
• 25:45
  the
• 25:46
  hottest
• 25:46
  sun.
• 25:46
  So
• 25:46
  make
• 25:47
  sure
• 25:47
  that.
• 25:48
  And
• 25:48
  then
• 25:48
  most
• 25:49
  stains
• 25:49
  need
• 25:49
  to
• 25:49
  be
• 25:50
  dry
• 25:50
  for
• 25:50
  at
• 25:50
  least
• 25:51
  24
• 25:52
  hours
• 25:52
  to
• 25:52
  cure.
• 25:53
  So
• 25:54
  rain
• 25:54
  needs
• 25:54
  to
• 25:54
  be
• 25:54
  days
• 25:55
  out,
• 25:55
  you'll
• 25:55
  be
• 25:55
  good
• 25:56
  to
• 25:56
  go.
• 25:57
  So
• 25:57
  the
• 25:57
  first
• 25:57
  thing
• 25:57
  I
• 25:58
  say
• 25:58
  is
• 25:59
  to
• 25:59
  make
• 25:59
  sure
• 26:00
  you
• 26:00
  start.
• 26:00
  And
• 26:01
  this
• 26:01
  is
• 26:01
  again,
• 26:02
  prep
• 26:02
  is
• 26:02
  king.
• 26:03
  Make
• 26:03
  sure
• 26:03
  you
• 26:04
  get
• 26:04
  all
• 26:04
  the
• 26:05
  stuff
• 26:05
  off
• 26:05
  of
• 26:05
  there,
• 26:06
  clean
• 26:06
  it
• 26:06
  up,
• 26:07
  get
• 26:07
  it
• 26:07
  all
• 26:08
  dialed
• 26:08
  in,
• 26:08
  get
• 26:08
  all
• 26:09
  the
• 26:09
  dirt
• 26:09
  off
• 26:09
  of
• 26:09
  it.
• 26:10
  So
• 26:11
  it's
• 26:11
  all
• 26:11
  about
• 26:11
  the
• 26:12
  prep
• 26:12
  here,
• 26:13
  and
• 26:13
  that's
• 26:13
  the
• 26:13
  important
• 26:14
  part.
• 26:15
  So
• 26:15
  really
• 26:15
  you're
• 26:15
  going
• 26:16
  to
• 26:16
  clear
• 26:16
  the
• 26:16
  area
• 26:16
  of
• 26:17
  any
• 26:17
  furniture,
• 26:18
  take
• 26:18
  out
• 26:18
  the
• 26:18
  plants,
• 26:19
  anything
• 26:19
  off
• 26:19
  that
• 26:20
  deck,
• 26:20
  get
• 26:20
  the
• 26:20
  barbecue
• 26:21
  out
• 26:21
  of
• 26:21
  there.
• 26:22
  And
• 26:22
  then
• 26:22
  you're
• 26:22
  going
• 26:22
  to
• 26:22
  sweep
• 26:22
  away
• 26:23
  the
• 26:23
  dirt,
• 26:24
  junk,
• 26:25
  get
• 26:25
  the
• 26:25
  leaf
• 26:26
  blower
• 26:26
  out,
• 26:27
  all
• 26:27
  the
• 26:27
  pollen,
• 26:28
  tree
• 26:29
  SAP,
• 26:29
  whatever
• 26:29
  you
• 26:29
  got
• 26:30
  on
• 26:30
  there,
• 26:30
  get
• 26:30
  it
• 26:30
  out
• 26:30
  of
• 26:30
  there.
• 26:31
  And
• 26:31
  then
• 26:31
  the
• 26:32
  next
• 26:32
  thing
• 26:32
  I
• 26:32
  want
• 26:32
  you
• 26:32
  to
• 26:32
  do
• 26:32
  is
• 26:33
  now's
• 26:33
  the
• 26:33
  time
• 26:33
  to
• 26:33
  do
• 26:33
  that
• 26:34
  inspection.
• 26:34
  Like,
• 26:34
  I've
• 26:35
  got
• 26:35
  a
• 26:35
  couple
• 26:35
  spots
• 26:36
  where
• 26:36
  things
• 26:36
  have
• 26:36
  sunk
• 26:37
  a
• 26:37
  little
• 26:37
  bit.
• 26:37
  I
• 26:37
  need
• 26:38
  to
• 26:38
  pull
• 26:38
  it
• 26:38
  back
• 26:38
  and
• 26:38
  see
• 26:39
  what's
• 26:39
  going
• 26:39
  on.
• 26:39
  I've
• 26:40
  got
• 26:40
  some
• 26:40
  damage,
• 26:41
  so
• 26:41
  I
• 26:41
  need
• 26:42
  to
• 26:42
  make
• 26:42
  sure
• 26:42
  that
• 26:43
  Now's
• 26:43
  the
• 26:43
  time
• 26:43
  to
• 26:43
  repair
• 26:44
  that
• 26:44
  and
• 26:44
  get
• 26:44
  it
• 26:44
  looking
• 26:45
  good
• 26:45
  so
• 26:46
  you're
• 26:46
  dialed
• 26:46
  in.
• 26:47
  And
• 26:48
  then
• 26:48
  really
• 26:48
  I
• 26:48
  want
• 26:49
  you
• 26:49
  to
• 26:49
  get
• 26:49
  down
• 26:49
  and
• 26:50
  get
• 26:50
  all
• 26:50
  of
• 26:50
  the
• 26:50
  dirt
• 26:51
  hosed
• 26:51
  off,
• 26:52
  cleaned
• 26:52
  off
• 26:52
  once
• 26:52
  you
• 26:52
  get
• 26:53
  all
• 26:53
  those
• 26:53
  repairs
• 26:53
  done.
• 26:54
  And
• 26:54
  then
• 26:55
  you
• 26:55
  need
• 26:55
  to
• 26:55
  really
• 26:56
  let
• 26:56
  it
• 26:56
  dry
• 26:57
  and
• 26:58
  really
• 26:58
  let
• 26:58
  it
• 26:58
  dry.
• 26:59
  So
• 26:59
  give
• 27:00
  it
• 27:00
  some
• 27:00
  days
• 27:00
  to
• 27:00
  dry,
• 27:01
  depending
• 27:01
  on
• 27:01
  your
• 27:01
  weather.
• 27:02
  And
• 27:02
  then
• 27:03
  anywhere
• 27:03
  that
• 27:04
  you've
• 27:04
  got
• 27:04
  siding,
• 27:05
  concrete
• 27:05
  plants,
• 27:06
  plastic
• 27:07
  sheeting,
• 27:08
  make
• 27:08
  sure
• 27:08
  it's
• 27:08
  dialed
• 27:08
  in.
• 27:09
  Now
• 27:09
  you
• 27:10
  can
• 27:10
  burn
• 27:11
  lawn
• 27:11
  in
• 27:11
  plants
• 27:12
  with
• 27:12
  plastic
• 27:12
  sheeting,
• 27:13
  so
• 27:13
  make
• 27:13
  sure
• 27:13
  you're
• 27:13
  doing
• 27:14
  that
• 27:14
  correctly
• 27:15
  and
• 27:15
  make
• 27:15
  sure
• 27:15
  that
• 27:15
  you're
• 27:16
  not
• 27:16
  killing
• 27:16
  the
• 27:16
  stuff
• 27:16
  that
• 27:16
  you're
• 27:17
  trying
• 27:17
  to
• 27:17
  protect.
• 27:18
  So
• 27:19
  that's
• 27:19
  it
• 27:20
  right
• 27:20
  there.
• 27:20
  And
• 27:20
  if
• 27:20
  it's
• 27:21
  a
• 27:21
  brand
• 27:21
  new
• 27:21
  deck,
• 27:22
  you're
• 27:22
  probably
• 27:22
  getting
• 27:23
  close
• 27:23
  right
• 27:23
  there
• 27:24
  after
• 27:24
  that
• 27:25
  to
• 27:25
  having
• 27:25
  it
• 27:25
  stained
• 27:26
  and
• 27:26
  ready
• 27:26
  to
• 27:26
  rock.
• 27:27
  Now
• 27:27
  the
• 27:27
  older
• 27:28
  decks
• 27:28
  is
• 27:28
  where
• 27:29
  this
• 27:29
  gets
• 27:29
  more
• 27:29
  interesting
• 27:31
  because
• 27:32
  you
• 27:32
  could
• 27:32
  have,
• 27:34
  you
• 27:34
  could
• 27:34
  have
• 27:34
  some
• 27:34
  serious
• 27:35
  issues.
• 27:35
  Now
• 27:36
  here's
• 27:36
  the
• 27:36
  thing.
• 27:37
  One
• 27:37
  way
• 27:37
  to
• 27:37
  do
• 27:38
  this
• 27:39
  is
• 27:39
  to
• 27:39
  sand
• 27:39
  it.
• 27:40
  Another
• 27:40
  one
• 27:41
  is
• 27:41
  to
• 27:41
  get
• 27:41
  out
• 27:41
  there
• 27:41
  weeks
• 27:42
  beforehand
• 27:43
  and
• 27:43
  give
• 27:43
  it
• 27:44
  a
• 27:44
  good
• 27:44
  pressure
• 27:44
  wash
• 27:45
  so
• 27:46
  you
• 27:46
  can
• 27:46
  get
• 27:46
  the
• 27:46
  old
• 27:47
  stain
• 27:47
  off.
• 27:48
  You're
• 27:48
  going
• 27:48
  to
• 27:48
  want
• 27:48
  to
• 27:48
  use
• 27:49
  a
• 27:49
  45
• 27:50
  degree
• 27:50
  tip,
• 27:51
  maybe
• 27:52
  1100-1400
• 27:54
  psi,
• 27:55
  and
• 27:55
  always
• 27:55
  working
• 27:56
  with
• 27:56
  the
• 27:56
  wood
• 27:56
  grain.
• 27:57
  But
• 27:58
  the
• 27:58
  first
• 27:58
  thing
• 27:58
  is
• 27:58
  depending
• 27:59
  on
• 27:59
  the
• 27:59
  deck,
• 27:59
  you
• 27:59
  want
• 28:00
  to
• 28:00
  test
• 28:00
  it
• 28:00
  on
• 28:00
  a
• 28:00
  small
• 28:01
  section
• 28:01
  that's
• 28:02
  maybe
• 28:02
  going
• 28:02
  to
• 28:02
  have
• 28:02
  a
• 28:02
  planter
• 28:03
  over
• 28:03
  it
• 28:03
  or
• 28:03
  something
• 28:04
  like
• 28:04
  that
• 28:04
  to
• 28:04
  see
• 28:04
  if
• 28:04
  it's
• 28:04
  going
• 28:05
  to
• 28:05
  work.
• 28:05
  With
• 28:06
  a
• 28:06
  pressure
• 28:06
  washer
• 28:07
  on
• 28:07
  a
• 28:07
  wood
• 28:07
  deck,
• 28:08
  you
• 28:08
  can
• 28:08
  do
• 28:09
  significant
• 28:10
  damage
• 28:11
  with
• 28:11
  that.
• 28:11
  You
• 28:12
  can
• 28:12
  raise
• 28:12
  the
• 28:12
  grain
• 28:13
  up.
• 28:13
  And
• 28:13
  now
• 28:13
  you're
• 28:13
  going
• 28:13
  through
• 28:14
  and
• 28:14
  doing
• 28:14
  a
• 28:14
  big
• 28:14
  sanding
• 28:15
  project
• 28:15
  again,
• 28:16
  which
• 28:16
  looks
• 28:17
  absolutely
• 28:18
  horrible
• 28:18
  until
• 28:18
  you
• 28:19
  get
• 28:19
  it
• 28:19
  done.
• 28:20
  You
• 28:20
  want
• 28:20
  to
• 28:20
  make
• 28:20
  sure
• 28:20
  all
• 28:20
  the
• 28:21
  fasteners
• 28:21
  are
• 28:21
  down
• 28:22
  below
• 28:22
  the
• 28:23
  top
• 28:23
  grade
• 28:23
  of
• 28:23
  that,
• 28:24
  so
• 28:24
  they're
• 28:24
  countersunk
• 28:25
  in
• 28:25
  so
• 28:25
  you're
• 28:25
  not
• 28:25
  hitting
• 28:26
  those
• 28:26
  with
• 28:26
  anything
• 28:27
  and
• 28:27
  you're
• 28:28
  going
• 28:28
  to
• 28:28
  get
• 28:28
  it
• 28:28
  really
• 28:28
  good.
• 28:29
  Now
• 28:29
  the
• 28:29
  first
• 28:29
  thing
• 28:29
  after
• 28:30
  I
• 28:30
  get
• 28:30
  that
• 28:30
  done
• 28:30
  though,
• 28:31
  I
• 28:32
  like
• 28:32
  to
• 28:32
  use
• 28:32
  the
• 28:32
  deck
• 28:33
  cleaner
• 28:34
  because
• 28:34
  in
• 28:34
  my
• 28:34
  area,
• 28:35
  mildew
• 28:35
  is
• 28:35
  a
• 28:35
  big
• 28:35
  deal.
• 28:36
  So
• 28:36
  I'm
• 28:36
  going
• 28:36
  to
• 28:36
  get
• 28:36
  through
• 28:36
  and
• 28:37
  get
• 28:37
  that
• 28:37
  deck
• 28:37
  cleaner,
• 28:38
  get
• 28:38
  it
• 28:38
  all
• 28:38
  cleaned
• 28:39
  up,
• 28:39
  get
• 28:39
  it
• 28:39
  looking
• 28:39
  good,
• 28:40
  and
• 28:41
  then
• 28:42
  if
• 28:42
  I've
• 28:42
  gone
• 28:43
  through
• 28:43
  with
• 28:43
  the
• 28:43
  pressure
• 28:43
  washer,
• 28:44
  then
• 28:44
  I've
• 28:44
  taken
• 28:45
  90%
• 28:46
  of
• 28:46
  the
• 28:46
  finish
• 28:46
  off.
• 28:47
  So
• 28:47
  now
• 28:47
  I'm
• 28:48
  going
• 28:48
  to
• 28:48
  go
• 28:48
  through
• 28:48
  and
• 28:48
  rough
• 28:49
  sand
• 28:49
  any
• 28:49
  areas
• 28:50
  that
• 28:50
  need
• 28:50
  it.
• 28:50
  It
• 28:51
  could
• 28:51
  be
• 28:51
  all
• 28:51
  of
• 28:51
  it
• 28:52
  for
• 28:52
  a
• 28:52
  deck,
• 28:53
  a
• 28:53
  belt,
• 28:53
  sanders,
• 28:54
  a
• 28:54
  way
• 28:54
  to
• 28:54
  go.
• 28:55
  You
• 28:55
  can
• 28:55
  also
• 28:55
  rent
• 28:56
  some
• 28:56
  floor
• 28:56
  sanders
• 28:56
  that
• 28:57
  work
• 28:57
  good
• 28:57
  to
• 28:58
  some
• 28:58
  of
• 28:58
  the
• 28:58
  pad
• 28:58
  ones.
• 28:59
  If
• 28:59
  you
• 28:59
  want
• 28:59
  to
• 28:59
  do
• 28:59
  the
• 28:59
  whole
• 28:59
  thing,
• 29:00
  that
• 29:00
  can
• 29:01
  save
• 29:01
  you
• 29:01
  some
• 29:01
  time
• 29:02
  and
• 29:02
  you
• 29:02
  won't
• 29:02
  be
• 29:02
  on
• 29:02
  your
• 29:03
  hands
• 29:03
  and
• 29:03
  knees
• 29:03
  to
• 29:04
  do
• 29:04
  it.
• 29:04
  So
• 29:05
  you'll
• 29:05
  want
• 29:05
  to
• 29:05
  through
• 29:06
  get
• 29:06
  that
• 29:06
  done,
• 29:07
  take
• 29:07
  off
• 29:08
  everything,
• 29:09
  get
• 29:09
  it
• 29:10
  all
• 29:10
  blown
• 29:10
  out,
• 29:11
  and
• 29:12
  then
• 29:12
  what
• 29:12
  kind
• 29:12
  of
• 29:13
  stain
• 29:13
  is
• 29:13
  a
• 29:13
  big
• 29:13
  one?
• 29:14
  So
• 29:15
  what
• 29:15
  I
• 29:15
  would
• 29:15
  do
• 29:15
  is
• 29:16
  really
• 29:17
  go
• 29:17
  through
• 29:18
  and
• 29:18
  hit
• 29:18
  some
• 29:18
  deck
• 29:18
  stripper
• 29:19
  on
• 29:19
  it
• 29:19
  to
• 29:19
  see
• 29:19
  what
• 29:20
  happens.
• 29:20
  If
• 29:20
  you've
• 29:20
  got
• 29:20
  some
• 29:21
  there,
• 29:21
  if
• 29:22
  that
• 29:22
  deck
• 29:22
  stripper
• 29:23
  takes
• 29:23
  it
• 29:23
  off
• 29:23
  really
• 29:24
  easily,
• 29:24
  then
• 29:24
  it's
• 29:25
  probably
• 29:25
  a
• 29:25
  water
• 29:25
  based
• 29:26
  material
• 29:27
  and
• 29:27
  if
• 29:27
  it's
• 29:27
  oil
• 29:28
  based,
• 29:28
  it's
• 29:29
  not
• 29:29
  going
• 29:29
  to
• 29:29
  probably
• 29:29
  touch
• 29:30
  it.
• 29:31
  So
• 29:31
  then
• 29:31
  you
• 29:31
  know
• 29:32
  what
• 29:32
  you
• 29:32
  have
• 29:32
  to
• 29:32
  work
• 29:32
  with.
• 29:33
  You
• 29:33
  want
• 29:34
  to
• 29:34
  use
• 29:34
  water
• 29:34
  based
• 29:35
  on
• 29:35
  water
• 29:35
  based
• 29:35
  and
• 29:36
  oil
• 29:36
  based
• 29:36
  on
• 29:36
  oil
• 29:37
  based.
• 29:37
  So
• 29:37
  you
• 29:37
  make
• 29:38
  sure
• 29:38
  you
• 29:38
  get
• 29:38
  it
• 29:38
  in
• 29:38
  there
• 29:38
  good.
• 29:39
  So
• 29:40
  really
• 29:40
  the
• 29:40
  next
• 29:40
  thing
• 29:41
  is
• 29:41
  going
• 29:41
  to
• 29:42
  be
• 29:42
  staining.
• 29:43
  And
• 29:43
  this
• 29:43
  is
• 29:44
  where
• 29:44
  a
• 29:44
  lot
• 29:44
  of
• 29:44
  people
• 29:45
  get
• 29:45
  in
• 29:45
  trouble
• 29:45
  with
• 29:45
  staining.
• 29:46
  When
• 29:47
  you're
• 29:47
  looking
• 29:47
  at
• 29:47
  it,
• 29:48
  this
• 29:48
  is
• 29:48
  a
• 29:48
  big
• 29:48
  deal.
• 29:50
  Now
• 29:50
  when
• 29:50
  you're
• 29:50
  out
• 29:50
  there
• 29:51
  staining,
• 29:51
  you
• 29:51
  want
• 29:51
  to
• 29:51
  follow
• 29:51
  the
• 29:52
  manufacturer's
• 29:52
  directions.
• 29:53
  But
• 29:54
  too
• 29:54
  much
• 29:55
  can
• 29:55
  be
• 29:56
  really
• 29:56
  bad.
• 29:57
  So
• 29:57
  many
• 29:58
  people
• 29:58
  will
• 29:58
  stain
• 29:59
  it
• 29:59
  and
• 30:00
  then
• 30:00
  what
• 30:00
  happens?
• 30:01
  Oh
• 30:01
  my
• 30:01
  gosh,
• 30:02
  we
• 30:02
  got
• 30:03
  a
• 30:03
  hot
• 30:03
  mess
• 30:03
  because
• 30:04
  it
• 30:04
  will
• 30:04
  be
• 30:04
  sticky
• 30:05
  for
• 30:05
  months
• 30:06
  on
• 30:06
  end.
• 30:06
  Because
• 30:07
  especially
• 30:08
  with
• 30:08
  these
• 30:09
  stains,
• 30:10
  you
• 30:10
  will
• 30:10
  create
• 30:11
  this,
• 30:11
  it
• 30:12
  won't
• 30:12
  soak
• 30:12
  in
• 30:13
  and
• 30:13
  that
• 30:13
  stain
• 30:13
  sits
• 30:14
  on
• 30:14
  top
• 30:15
  and
• 30:15
  it's
• 30:15
  just
• 30:16
  a
• 30:16
  messy
• 30:16
  deal.
• 30:17
  So
• 30:18
  a
• 30:18
  little
• 30:18
  goes
• 30:18
  a
• 30:18
  long
• 30:19
  way.
• 30:19
  You're
• 30:19
  almost
• 30:20
  better
• 30:20
  to
• 30:20
  be
• 30:20
  light
• 30:21
  on
• 30:21
  the
• 30:21
  stain
• 30:21
  than
• 30:21
  heavy
• 30:22
  because
• 30:22
  at
• 30:22
  least
• 30:23
  it's
• 30:23
  going
• 30:23
  to
• 30:23
  dry.
• 30:24
  Now
• 30:24
  a
• 30:25
  lot
• 30:25
  of
• 30:25
  people
• 30:25
  try
• 30:25
  to
• 30:25
  spray,
• 30:26
  that's
• 30:26
  tough.
• 30:27
  Sometimes
• 30:27
  you
• 30:27
  might
• 30:28
  be
• 30:28
  better
• 30:28
  with
• 30:28
  a
• 30:28
  roller
• 30:28
  or
• 30:29
  a
• 30:29
  pad,
• 30:29
  depending
• 30:30
  on
• 30:30
  what
• 30:30
  stain
• 30:30
  you're
• 30:31
  using.
• 30:31
  There's
• 30:32
  lots
• 30:32
  of
• 30:32
  great
• 30:32
  water
• 30:33
  based,
• 30:33
  there's
• 30:33
  lots
• 30:33
  of
• 30:34
  great
• 30:34
  oil
• 30:35
  based.
• 30:35
  You
• 30:36
  just
• 30:36
  want
• 30:36
  to
• 30:36
  make
• 30:36
  sure
• 30:37
  that
• 30:37
  you've
• 30:37
  got
• 30:37
  that
• 30:37
  dialed
• 30:38
  in
• 30:38
  with
• 30:39
  what
• 30:39
  you're
• 30:39
  doing.
• 30:40
  So
• 30:41
  for
• 30:41
  most,
• 30:42
  when
• 30:43
  you're
• 30:43
  dealing
• 30:43
  with
• 30:44
  wood
• 30:44
  like
• 30:44
  this,
• 30:45
  on
• 30:45
  new
• 30:46
  wood,
• 30:46
  really
• 30:47
  you're
• 30:47
  going
• 30:47
  to
• 30:47
  need
• 30:48
  200
• 30:48
  to
• 30:48
  250
• 30:50
  square
• 30:50
  feet
• 30:51
  of
• 30:51
  coverage
• 30:52
  per
• 30:52
  gallon.
• 30:53
  Now
• 30:53
  when
• 30:54
  you
• 30:54
  get
• 30:54
  into
• 30:54
  the
• 30:54
  rough
• 30:54
  boards,
• 30:55
  it
• 30:55
  could
• 30:55
  be
• 30:55
  100,
• 30:56
  200.
• 30:57
  So
• 30:57
  you
• 30:57
  really
• 30:58
  want
• 30:58
  to
• 30:58
  apply
• 30:59
  so
• 30:59
  the
• 30:59
  wood
• 30:59
  will
• 30:59
  absorb
• 31:00
  along
• 31:00
  the
• 31:01
  grain
• 31:01
  and
• 31:01
  you'll
• 31:01
  be
• 31:01
  good
• 31:02
  to
• 31:02
  go.
• 31:02
  If
• 31:02
  you
• 31:03
  let
• 31:03
  it
• 31:03
  to
• 31:03
  pool
• 31:03
  or
• 31:03
  puddle
• 31:05
  sit
• 31:05
  on
• 31:05
  the
• 31:05
  surface,
• 31:05
  you're
• 31:06
  gonna
• 31:06
  have
• 31:06
  a
• 31:06
  hot
• 31:06
  mess.
• 31:07
  So
• 31:08
  make
• 31:08
  sure
• 31:08
  that
• 31:08
  you've
• 31:08
  got
• 31:09
  that
• 31:09
  cleaning
• 31:10
  and
• 31:10
  then
• 31:11
  just
• 31:11
  let
• 31:11
  it
• 31:11
  cure
• 31:12
  and
• 31:13
  get
• 31:13
  after
• 31:13
  it.
• 31:14
  So
• 31:15
  do
• 31:15
  your
• 31:15
  homework,
• 31:16
  understand
• 31:17
  what
• 31:18
  finish
• 31:18
  you're
• 31:18
  doing,
• 31:19
  read
• 31:19
  the
• 31:19
  directions,
• 31:20
  understand
• 31:20
  the
• 31:21
  tips.
• 31:22
  Oil
• 31:22
  based
• 31:22
  stains
• 31:23
  can
• 31:23
  be
• 31:23
  really
• 31:24
  rough
• 31:24
  as
• 31:24
  far
• 31:24
  as
• 31:24
  cleanup.
• 31:25
  You
• 31:25
  could
• 31:25
  have
• 31:25
  rags
• 31:26
  that
• 31:26
  could
• 31:26
  Self
• 31:26
  combust.
• 31:27
  Read
• 31:28
  the
• 31:28
  directions
• 31:28
  on
• 31:28
  the
• 31:29
  can
• 31:29
  to
• 31:29
  make
• 31:29
  sure
• 31:29
  you
• 31:29
  got
• 31:29
  it
• 31:30
  dialed
• 31:30
  in
• 31:30
  so
• 31:30
  you
• 31:30
  know
• 31:31
  what
• 31:31
  you're
• 31:31
  doing
• 31:32
  and
• 31:32
  then
• 31:32
  just
• 31:32
  give
• 31:33
  it
• 31:33
  the
• 31:33
  time.
• 31:33
  This
• 31:34
  is
• 31:34
  a
• 31:34
  weekend
• 31:35
  project
• 31:35
  and
• 31:36
  probably
• 31:36
  a
• 31:36
  multiple
• 31:37
  one
• 31:37
  because
• 31:37
  you're
• 31:37
  going
• 31:37
  to
• 31:37
  want
• 31:38
  to
• 31:38
  clean
• 31:38
  it
• 31:38
  up,
• 31:38
  get
• 31:38
  it
• 31:39
  prepped
• 31:39
  the
• 31:39
  weekend
• 31:39
  before
• 31:40
  and
• 31:41
  have
• 31:41
  a
• 31:41
  good
• 31:42
  week
• 31:42
  of
• 31:42
  dry
• 31:42
  weather
• 31:43
  so
• 31:43
  the
• 31:43
  following
• 31:44
  week
• 31:44
  you
• 31:44
  can
• 31:45
  get
• 31:45
  it
• 31:45
  stained.
• 31:46
  You're
• 31:46
  not
• 31:46
  going
• 31:46
  to
• 31:46
  pressure
• 31:47
  wash
• 31:47
  it,
• 31:47
  get
• 31:47
  it
• 31:47
  clean
• 31:48
  and
• 31:48
  do
• 31:48
  it
• 31:48
  the
• 31:48
  next
• 31:48
  day.
• 31:49
  Chances
• 31:49
  are
• 31:50
  it's
• 31:50
  not
• 31:50
  going
• 31:51
  to
• 31:51
  be
• 31:51
  dry
• 31:51
  enough.
• 31:52
  When
• 31:52
  in
• 31:52
  doubt,
• 31:53
  jump
• 31:53
  on
• 31:53
  Amazon,
• 31:54
  grab
• 31:54
  a
• 31:54
  moisture
• 31:54
  meter
• 31:55
  and
• 31:55
  then
• 31:55
  see
• 31:56
  what
• 31:56
  the
• 31:56
  moisture
• 31:57
  of
• 31:57
  the
• 31:57
  wood
• 31:57
  needs
• 31:58
  to
• 31:58
  be
• 31:58

• 31:58
  that
• 31:58

• 31:59
  All
• 31:59
  right,

  guys,
• 32:00
  we
• 32:00
  come

  We'll

  just

• 34:32
  out
• 34:32
  of
• 34:32
  a
• 34:32
  stain,
• 34:33
  I'm
• 34:33
  happy.
• 34:34
  And
• 34:34
  that's
• 34:34
  why
• 34:34
  I
• 34:35
  went
• 34:35
  composite
• 34:35
  decks
• 34:36
  because
• 34:37
  I
• 34:37
  got
• 34:38
  tired
• 34:38
  of
• 34:38
  doing
• 34:38
  that.
• 34:39
  Every
• 34:39
  couple
• 34:40
  years
• 34:40
  of
• 34:40
  having
• 34:41
  to
• 34:41
  do
• 34:41
  that,
• 34:41
  you
• 34:42
  might
• 34:42
  get
• 34:42
  three.
• 34:42
  But
• 34:42
  if
• 34:43
  you've
• 34:43
  got
• 34:43
  a
• 34:43
  traffic
• 34:43
  area
• 34:44
  like
• 34:44
  going
• 34:44
  to
• 34:44
  a
• 34:44
  hot
• 34:45
  tub
• 34:45
  or
• 34:45
  something
• 34:45
  like
• 34:45
  that,
• 34:46
  tell
• 34:46
  you
• 34:46
  what
• 34:47
  guys,
• 34:47
  it
• 34:47
  just
• 34:47
  doesn't
• 34:48
  hold
• 34:48
  up.
• 34:49
  And
• 34:49
  the
• 34:49
  problem
• 34:49
  is
• 34:50
  whether
• 34:50
  you
• 34:50
  use
• 34:50
  an
• 34:50
  oil
• 34:51
  based
• 34:51
  or
• 34:51
  water
• 34:51
  based,
• 34:52
  it
• 34:52
  just
• 34:52
  starts
• 34:53
  to
• 34:53
  look
• 34:53
  dingy.
• 34:54
  And
• 34:54
  unless
• 34:54
  you're
• 34:55
  putting
• 34:55
  down
• 34:55
  some
• 34:56
  super
• 34:56
  expensive
• 34:56
  hardwood,
• 34:58
  that's
• 34:58
  the
• 34:58
  reason
• 34:58
  why
• 34:58
  I've
• 34:59
  done
• 34:59
  it.
• 34:59
  And
• 35:00
  that's
• 35:00
  also
• 35:00
  the
• 35:00
  reason
• 35:01
  why
• 35:01
  I
• 35:01
  haven't
• 35:01
  gone
• 35:02
  for
• 35:02
  a
• 35:02
  long
• 35:03
  time
• 35:03
  with
• 35:03
  building
• 35:04
  a
• 35:04
  pressure
• 35:05
  treated
• 35:05
  deck
• 35:05
  because
• 35:06
  you've
• 35:06
  got
• 35:06
  all
• 35:07
  the
• 35:07
  chemicals
• 35:07
  in
• 35:07
  there,
• 35:07
  whether
• 35:08
  it's
• 35:08
  the
• 35:08
  copper
• 35:08
  and
• 35:09
  the
• 35:09
  other
• 35:09
  stuff
• 35:09
  that's
• 35:10
  in
• 35:10
  that.
• 35:11
  But
• 35:11
  I
• 35:11
  just
• 35:12
  don't
• 35:12
  like
• 35:12
  doing
• 35:13
  that.
• 35:13
  And
• 35:13
  so
• 35:14
  it's
• 35:14
  just
• 35:15
  too
• 35:15
  much
• 35:15
  Work
• 35:15
  where
• 35:16
  I
• 35:16
  live
• 35:16
  and
• 35:17
  tell
• 35:17
  me
• 35:17
  about
• 35:17
  your
• 35:18
  place.
• 35:18
  But
• 35:18
  many
• 35:19
  times
• 35:19
  that
• 35:20
  can
• 35:20
  be
• 35:20
  a
• 35:20
  big
• 35:21
  issue.
• 35:22
  And
• 35:23
  you
• 35:24
  know
• 35:24
  the
• 35:24
  pressure
• 35:24
  treated
• 35:24
  lumber,
• 35:25
  sometimes
• 35:25
  when
• 35:25
  you
• 35:26
  put
• 35:26
  that
• 35:26
  in
• 35:26
  and
• 35:26
  build
• 35:27
  it
• 35:27
  for
• 35:27
  you
• 35:28
  to
• 35:28
  stain
• 35:28
  that
• 35:28
  later,
• 35:29
  you
• 35:29
  might
• 35:29
  have
• 35:29
  to
• 35:30
  wait
• 35:30
  three,
• 35:30
  four,
• 35:31
  five
• 35:31
  months
• 35:31
  to
• 35:32
  be
• 35:32
  able
• 35:32
  to
• 35:32
  stain
• 35:32
  that.
• 35:33
  So
• 35:33
  make
• 35:33
  sure
• 35:33
  when
• 35:34
  it's
• 35:34
  a
• 35:34
  new
• 35:34
  deck,
• 35:35
  be
• 35:35
  careful
• 35:36
  what
• 35:36
  you're
• 35:36
  doing
• 35:37
  and
• 35:37
  that
• 35:37
  has
• 35:37
  to
• 35:37
  be
• 35:38
  really
• 35:38
  dried
• 35:38
  out
• 35:39
  and
• 35:39
  that
• 35:39
  can
• 35:39
  take
• 35:39
  a
• 35:40
  while
• 35:40
  for
• 35:40
  that
• 35:40
  to
• 35:40
  happen.
• 35:41
  So
• 35:41
  I
• 35:42
  have
• 35:42
  seen
• 35:42
  some
• 35:42
  pressure
• 35:43
  treated
• 35:43
  decks
• 35:43
  that
• 35:43
  were
• 35:44
  literally,
• 35:44
  as
• 35:44
  you're
• 35:44
  putting
• 35:44
  the
• 35:44
  screw
• 35:45
  in,
• 35:45
  the
• 35:46
  moisture
• 35:46
  was
• 35:46
  coming
• 35:47
  out
• 35:47
  of
• 35:47
  it
• 35:47
  and
• 35:47
  it
• 35:47
  was
• 35:47
  pooling
• 35:48
  around
• 35:48
  where
• 35:48
  the
• 35:48
  fasteners
• 35:49
  were.
• 35:50
  So
• 35:50
  just
• 35:50
  make
• 35:51
  sure
• 35:51
  that
• 35:51
  you've
• 35:51
  got
• 35:51
  it
• 35:51
  dried
• 35:52
  enough
• 35:52
  because
• 35:53
  otherwise
• 35:53
  you're
• 35:53
  going
• 35:53
  to
• 35:53
  have
• 35:54
  a
• 35:54
  hot
• 35:54
  mess
• 35:54
  and
• 35:54
  you're
• 35:54
  going
• 35:54
  to
• 35:55
  be
• 35:55
  starting
• 35:55
  over
• 35:55
  and
• 35:56
  doing
• 35:56
  it
• 35:56
  again,
• 35:57
  which
• 35:57
  is
• 35:57
  never
• 35:57
  awesome.
• 35:58
  So
• 35:58
  beware
• 35:59
  on
• 35:59
  those
• 35:59
  projects.
• 36:00
  There's
• 36:00
  a
• 36:00
  lot
• 36:00
  of
• 36:00
  gitches
• 36:01
  with
• 36:01
  that
• 36:02
  now.
• 36:02
  Decks
• 36:03
  and
• 36:03
  fences
• 36:04
  are
• 36:04
  a
• 36:04
  little
• 36:04
  bit
• 36:04
  different.
• 36:05
  Fences
• 36:06
  can
• 36:06
  be
• 36:06
  a
• 36:06
  little
• 36:06
  bit
• 36:07
  tough.
• 36:07
  And
• 36:09
  I
• 36:09
  get
• 36:09
  a
• 36:09
  problem.
• 36:09
  I
• 36:10
  really
• 36:10
  have
• 36:10
  a
• 36:10
  problem
• 36:10
  with
• 36:11
  fences
• 36:11
  sometimes
• 36:11
  because
• 36:12
  they
• 36:12
  really
• 36:13
  get
• 36:13
  the
• 36:13
  dirt
• 36:13
  more
• 36:14
  often.
• 36:14
  And
• 36:15
  so
• 36:15
  really,
• 36:15
  if
• 36:15
  you
• 36:16
  go
• 36:16
  through,
• 36:17
  sometimes
• 36:17
  people
• 36:17
  with
• 36:18
  a
• 36:18
  cedar
• 36:18
  fence
• 36:18
  in
• 36:19
  my
• 36:19
  area,
• 36:19
  they
• 36:19
  just
• 36:19
  put
• 36:19
  a
• 36:19
  clear
• 36:20
  coat
• 36:20
  on
• 36:20
  it
• 36:20
  and
• 36:20
  they
• 36:21
  let
• 36:21
  it
• 36:21
  go.
• 36:22
  Or
• 36:22
  there's
• 36:22
  people
• 36:23
  like
• 36:23
  me
• 36:23
  that
• 36:23
  wanted
• 36:24
  to
• 36:24
  do
• 36:24
  a
• 36:24
  dark
• 36:24
  stain
• 36:25
  on
• 36:25
  it,
• 36:25
  but
• 36:26
  the
• 36:26
  problem
• 36:26
  is
• 36:26
  a
• 36:26
  couple
• 36:26
  of
• 36:27
  years
• 36:27
  later,
• 36:27
  here's
• 36:28
  the
• 36:28
  problem
• 36:28
  with
• 36:28
  the
• 36:29
  black
• 36:29
  stains
• 36:30
  is
• 36:30
  they
• 36:30
  start
• 36:31
  to
• 36:31
  look
• 36:31
  a
• 36:31
  little
• 36:31
  dingy,
• 36:32
  they
• 36:32
  fade,
• 36:33
  they
• 36:33
  show
• 36:34
  dirt.
• 36:34
  It's
• 36:34
  like
• 36:34
  a
• 36:34
  black
• 36:35
  car.
• 36:35
  So
• 36:36
  be
• 36:36
  careful
• 36:36
  with
• 36:36
  what
• 36:37
  you're
• 36:37
  doing.
• 36:37
  It
• 36:37
  can
• 36:37
  be
• 36:38
  a
• 36:38
  lot
• 36:38
  of
• 36:38
  work
• 36:38
  with
• 36:38
  those.
• 36:39
  And
• 36:39
  staining
• 36:40
  that
• 36:40
  deck
• 36:40
  can
• 36:40
  be
• 36:41
  a
• 36:41
  big
• 36:41
  issue.
• 36:41
  So
• 36:42
  take
• 36:42
  your
• 36:42
  time,
• 36:43
  think
• 36:43
  about
• 36:43
  the
• 36:44
  color.
• 36:44
  Sometimes
• 36:44
  you
• 36:45
  might
• 36:45
  be
• 36:45
  way
• 36:45
  better
• 36:46
  off
• 36:46
  just
• 36:47
  going
• 36:47
  through
• 36:47
  and
• 36:47
  doing
• 36:49
  a
• 36:49
  more
• 36:49
  natural
• 36:50
  cedar
• 36:50
  look.
• 36:51
  You
• 36:51
  can
• 36:51
  come
• 36:51
  back
• 36:52
  and
• 36:52
  touch
• 36:52
  up
• 36:52
  later,
• 36:53
  versus
• 36:53
  getting
• 36:54
  all
• 36:54
  tricky
• 36:54
  with
• 36:54
  the
• 36:54
  color
• 36:55
  because
• 36:55
  that
• 36:55
  can
• 36:55
  be
• 36:56
  pretty
• 36:56
  expensive
• 36:56
  when
• 36:57
  you're
• 36:57
  doing
• 36:57
  it.
• 36:58
  Now
• 36:59
  there's
• 36:59
  a
• 36:59
  lot
• 36:59
  of
• 36:59
  prep
• 37:00
  with
• 37:00
  that.
• 37:01
  Stains
• 37:01
  can
• 37:02
  be
• 37:02
  interesting.
• 37:02
  I
• 37:03
  like
• 37:03
  to
• 37:03
  spray
• 37:03
  them.
• 37:04
  But
• 37:05
  if
• 37:05
  you've
• 37:06
  got
• 37:06
  a
• 37:06
  neighbor
• 37:06
  on
• 37:06
  the
• 37:06
  other
• 37:07
  side,
• 37:07
  I
• 37:07
  hope
• 37:08
  your
• 37:08
  friends,
• 37:09
  because
• 37:09
  it's
• 37:09
  hard
• 37:10
  to
• 37:10
  stain
• 37:10
  that
• 37:10
  and
• 37:10
  not
• 37:11
  get
• 37:11
  the
• 37:11
  other
• 37:11
  side
• 37:11
  and
• 37:12
  make
• 37:12
  it
• 37:12
  look
• 37:12
  horrible
• 37:13
  or
• 37:13
  get
• 37:13
  it
• 37:13
  all
• 37:13
  over
• 37:13
  their
• 37:14
  stuff
• 37:14
  on
• 37:14
  the
• 37:14
  other
• 37:14
  side.
• 37:15
  And
• 37:15
  my
• 37:15
  brother,
• 37:15
  oh
• 37:16
  my
• 37:16
  gosh,
• 37:16
  he
• 37:16
  had
• 37:16
  a
• 37:16
  big
• 37:16
  issue
• 37:16
  at
• 37:17
  his
• 37:17
  place.
• 37:17
  Neighbor
• 37:18
  decided
• 37:18
  to
• 37:18
  paint
• 37:19
  theirs
• 37:19
  and
• 37:19
  it
• 37:19
  all
• 37:19
  blew
• 37:20
  across
• 37:20
  his
• 37:20
  pool.
• 37:20
  And
• 37:20
  they
• 37:21
  had
• 37:21
  to
• 37:21
  spend
• 37:21
  some
• 37:21
  serious
• 37:22
  money,
• 37:22
  the
• 37:23
  neighbor
• 37:23
  did,
• 37:24
  having
• 37:24
  professionals
• 37:25
  come
• 37:25
  out
• 37:25
  and
• 37:26
  get
• 37:26
  it
• 37:26
  off
• 37:26
  of
• 37:26
  everything.
• 37:27
  So
• 37:27
  that
• 37:27
  can
• 37:27
  be
• 37:27
  a
• 37:27
  very
• 37:27
  expensive
• 37:28
  one.
• 37:28
  So
• 37:28
  buyer
• 37:29
  Beware
• 37:29
  on
• 37:29
  that.
• 37:30
  Sometimes
• 37:31
  you're
• 37:31
  better
• 37:31
  off
• 37:31
  out
• 37:31
  there
• 37:32
  with
• 37:32
  a
• 37:32
  brush
• 37:32
  or
• 37:33
  a
• 37:33
  roller
• 37:33
  and
• 37:34
  doing
• 37:34
  it
• 37:34
  that
• 37:34
  way.
• 37:35
  And
• 37:36
  then
• 37:36
  you
• 37:36
  can
• 37:36
  come
• 37:36
  back
• 37:37
  and
• 37:37
  maybe
• 37:37
  rake
• 37:38
  up
• 37:38
  the
• 37:38
  barker
• 37:38
  and
• 37:38
  then
• 37:39
  get
• 37:39
  your
• 37:39
  drips
• 37:39
  out
• 37:39
  of
• 37:39
  the
• 37:39
  way
• 37:40
  and
• 37:40
  not
• 37:40
  be
• 37:40
  so
• 37:40
  worried
• 37:40
  about
• 37:41
  it.
• 37:41
  So
• 37:41
  just
• 37:41
  be
• 37:41
  very
• 37:42
  careful
• 37:42
  with
• 37:43
  that.
• 37:44
  The
• 37:44
  other
• 37:44
  issue
• 37:44
  is
• 37:45
  just
• 37:45
  make
• 37:45
  sure
• 37:46
  cedars,
• 37:46
  natural
• 37:47
  oils
• 37:47
  can
• 37:47
  resist
• 37:48
  some
• 37:48
  water
• 37:48
  based
• 37:49
  stains
• 37:49
  without
• 37:49
  the
• 37:49
  proper
• 37:50
  prep.
• 37:50
  So
• 37:50
  make
• 37:50
  sure
• 37:50
  that
• 37:51
  you've
• 37:51
  got
• 37:51
  that
• 37:51
  dialed
• 37:52
  in
• 37:52
  and
• 37:53
  you
• 37:53
  get
• 37:53
  into
• 37:54
  any
• 37:54
  of
• 37:54
  the
• 37:54
  exotic
• 37:55
  woods,
• 37:55
  you
• 37:55
  just
• 37:55
  gotta
• 37:55
  do
• 37:56
  your
• 37:56
  research
• 37:56
  and
• 37:56
  call
• 37:56
  the
• 37:57
  companies
• 37:57
  to
• 37:57
  make
• 37:57
  sure
• 37:58
  that
• 37:58
  you're
• 37:58
  putting
• 37:58
  something
• 37:58
  on
• 37:59
  there
• 37:59
  that's
• 38:00
  not
• 38:00
  gonna
• 38:00
  react
• 38:00
  with
• 38:00
  that.
• 38:01
  So
• 38:01
  that's
• 38:02
  where
• 38:02
  you're
• 38:02
  working
• 38:02
  with
• 38:02
  your
• 38:03
  professionals
• 38:03
  to
• 38:03
  make
• 38:03
  sure
• 38:04
  that
• 38:04
  you're
• 38:04
  getting
• 38:04
  that
• 38:04
  done
• 38:05
  correctly.
• 38:05
  So
• 38:06
  many
• 38:06
  times.
• 38:07
  That
• 38:07
  fence,
• 38:08
  think
• 38:08
  about
• 38:09
  the
• 38:09
  maintenance
• 38:09
  and
• 38:09
  what
• 38:10
  you
• 38:10
  have
• 38:10
  to
• 38:10
  do.
• 38:10
  My
• 38:11
  black
• 38:11
  fence,
• 38:11
  I
• 38:12
  don't
• 38:12
  think
• 38:12
  I
• 38:12
  would
• 38:12
  do
• 38:12
  it
• 38:12
  again
• 38:13
  that
• 38:13
  way.
• 38:13
  I
• 38:13
  think
• 38:13
  I
• 38:13
  would
• 38:13
  not
• 38:14
  go
• 38:14
  with
• 38:14
  wood
• 38:14
  and
• 38:15
  stain
• 38:15
  it.
• 38:15
  I
• 38:15
  would
• 38:15
  go
• 38:16
  metal
• 38:16
  because
• 38:16
  at
• 38:17
  least
• 38:17
  I
• 38:17
  can
• 38:17
  get
• 38:17
  out
• 38:17
  there
• 38:17
  with
• 38:17
  a
• 38:17
  hose
• 38:18
  and
• 38:18
  deal
• 38:19
  with
• 38:19
  it
• 38:19
  correctly.
• 38:20
  So
• 38:20
  that's
• 38:21
  the
• 38:21
  big
• 38:21
  thing
• 38:21
  right
• 38:21
  there,
• 38:22
  just
• 38:22
  making
• 38:22
  sure
• 38:22
  you
• 38:23
  got
• 38:23
  it.
• 38:23
  And
• 38:24
  then
• 38:24
  nobody
• 38:24
  wants
• 38:25
  to
• 38:25
  sand,
• 38:25
  but
• 38:25
  maybe
• 38:26
  that
• 38:26
  pressure
• 38:26
  washer
• 38:26
  will
• 38:27
  get
• 38:27
  it
• 38:27
  or
• 38:28
  you're
• 38:28
  just
• 38:28
  going
• 38:28
  to
• 38:28
  put
• 38:28
  another
• 38:29
  coat
• 38:29
  over
• 38:29
  the
• 38:29
  top
• 38:29
  of
• 38:29
  it.
• 38:30
  At
• 38:30
  some
• 38:30
  point
• 38:31
  you're
• 38:31
  going
• 38:31
  to
• 38:31
  have
• 38:31
  to
• 38:31
  deal
• 38:31
  with
• 38:32
  something
• 38:32
  on
• 38:32
  that.
• 38:33
  Now
• 38:33
  there
• 38:33
  is
• 38:35
  one
• 38:35
  type
• 38:35
  of
• 38:36
  finish
• 38:36
  that
• 38:36
  we
• 38:37
  haven't
• 38:37
  talked
• 38:37
  about
• 38:38
  and
• 38:39
  that
• 38:39
  is
• 38:39
  for
• 38:39
  decks
• 38:40
  and
• 38:40
  that
• 38:40
  is
• 38:40
  that
• 38:41
  deck
• 38:41
  restoring
• 38:42
  finish.
• 38:43
  Now
• 38:44
  this
• 38:44
  stuff
• 38:44
  here
• 38:45
  is,
• 38:46
  it's
• 38:46
  tough.
• 38:47
  It's
• 38:48
  a
• 38:48
  finish
• 38:48
  that
• 38:49
  has
• 38:49
  got
• 38:49
  really
• 38:50
  thick
• 38:50
  and
• 38:50
  some
• 38:51
  aggregate
• 38:51
  in
• 38:51
  it.
• 38:52
  Now
• 38:53
  the
• 38:53
  problem
• 38:55
  with
• 38:55
  that,
• 38:55
  and
• 38:56
  this
• 38:56
  is
• 38:56
  where
• 38:56
  I
• 38:56
  struggle,
• 38:58
  this
• 38:58
  stuff
• 38:59
  is
• 38:59
  a
• 38:59
  one
• 38:59
  time
• 39:00
  only.
• 39:01
  For
• 39:01
  instance,
• 39:02
  you've
• 39:02
  got
• 39:03
  Cabot,
• 39:03
  they've
• 39:03
  got
• 39:04
  their
• 39:04
  deck
• 39:04
  correct.
• 39:05
  You've
• 39:06
  got
• 39:06
  all
• 39:06
  these
• 39:06
  other
• 39:07
  brands
• 39:07
  out
• 39:07
  there
• 39:08
  of
• 39:08
  these
• 39:08
  wood
• 39:09
  deck
• 39:09
  restoration
• 39:10
  coatings.
• 39:11
  Now
• 39:12
  I
• 39:12
  like
• 39:12
  them,
• 39:13
  but
• 39:13
  holy
• 39:14
  smokes,
• 39:15
  once
• 39:15
  you
• 39:15
  use
• 39:16
  it,
• 39:16
  you're
• 39:17
  replacing
• 39:17
  the
• 39:17
  deck.
• 39:18
  The
• 39:18
  next
• 39:18
  time
• 39:18
  it's
• 39:18
  not
• 39:19
  worth
• 39:19
  the
• 39:19
  time
• 39:20
  to
• 39:21
  finish
• 39:22
  is
• 39:23
  tough.
• 39:23
  So
• 39:24
  make
• 39:24
  sure
• 39:24
  you're
• 39:25
  doing
• 39:25
  it
• 39:25
  right.
• 39:25
  Make
• 39:26
  sure
• 39:26
  that
• 39:26
  you're
• 39:26
  using
• 39:26
  the
• 39:27
  right
• 39:27
  material.
• 39:28
  But
• 39:28
  that
• 39:29
  deck
• 39:29
  stuff,
• 39:29
  it
• 39:30
  is
• 39:30
  that
• 39:30
  last
• 39:30
  hurrah
• 39:32
  for
• 39:32
  that
• 39:32
  finish.
• 39:33
  Now
• 39:34
  it's
• 39:34
  super
• 39:34
  thick,
• 39:35
  it's
• 39:35
  expensive
• 39:36
  as
• 39:37
  well.
• 39:37
  So
• 39:38
  if
• 39:38
  you
• 39:38
  look
• 39:38
  at
• 39:38
  it
• 39:39
  and
• 39:39
  go,
• 39:40
  there's
• 39:40
  all
• 39:40
  these
• 39:40
  different
• 39:40
  companies
• 39:41
  that
• 39:41
  make
• 39:41
  it
• 39:41
  out
• 39:42
  there.
• 39:42
  But
• 39:43
  this
• 39:43
  stuff
• 39:44
  here,
• 39:45
  like
• 39:45
  Olympic
• 39:46
  has
• 39:46
  their
• 39:46
  max
• 39:47
  rescue
• 39:47
  it.
• 39:48
  It'll
• 39:48
  fill
• 39:49
  cracks
• 39:49
  up
• 39:49
  to
• 39:49
  a
• 39:49
  quarter
• 39:50
  inch,
• 39:50
  locks
• 39:50
  down
• 39:51
  splinters,
• 39:52
  near
• 39:52
  about
• 39:53
  40
• 39:53
  bucks
• 39:54
  a
• 39:54
  gallon
• 39:54
  for
• 39:54
  some
• 39:55
  of
• 39:55
  that
• 39:55
  stuff,
• 39:56
  which
• 39:56
  is
• 39:57
  great.
• 39:57
  But
• 39:58
  Once
• 39:58
  it's
• 39:58
  down,
• 39:59
  you're
• 39:59
  pretty
• 39:59
  much
• 40:00
  done.
• 40:00
  Once
• 40:00
  it
• 40:00
  starts
• 40:01
  to
• 40:01
  peel,
• 40:01
  you're
• 40:02
  in
• 40:02
  trouble.
• 40:03
  So
• 40:03
  you
• 40:03
  want
• 40:03
  to
• 40:04
  make
• 40:04
  sure
• 40:04
  that
• 40:04
  you're
• 40:04
  working
• 40:04
  with
• 40:05
  the
• 40:05
  right
• 40:05
  stuff
• 40:05
  and
• 40:06
  you've
• 40:06
  got
• 40:06
  it.
• 40:06
  And
• 40:07
  that's
• 40:07
  your
• 40:07
  last
• 40:07
  hurrah
• 40:08
  before
• 40:08
  you're
• 40:08
  replacing
• 40:09
  that
• 40:09
  deck
• 40:09
  and
• 40:09
  doing
• 40:09
  something
• 40:10
  differently
• 40:10
  there.
• 40:11
  So
• 40:12
  this
• 40:12
  is
• 40:12
  not
• 40:12
  a,
• 40:13
  oh,
• 40:13
  I'm
• 40:13
  five
• 40:14
  years
• 40:14
  in.
• 40:14
  I
• 40:14
  want
• 40:14
  to
• 40:14
  do
• 40:14
  this
• 40:15
  because
• 40:15
  I
• 40:15
  want
• 40:15
  to
• 40:15
  have
• 40:15
  that.
• 40:16
  No,
• 40:17
  once
• 40:18
  it
• 40:18
  starts
• 40:18
  to
• 40:18
  peel
• 40:18
  and
• 40:19
  come
• 40:19
  off,
• 40:19
  it's
• 40:20
  horrible.
• 40:21
  Now,
• 40:21
  I
• 40:21
  had
• 40:21
  a
• 40:22
  project.
• 40:22
  I'll
• 40:22
  tell
• 40:22
  you
• 40:22
  this
• 40:23
  one.
• 40:23
  This
• 40:23
  was
• 40:23
  a
• 40:23
  nightmare.
• 40:24
  I
• 40:24
  had
• 40:25
  a
• 40:25
  rental
• 40:25
  house
• 40:25
  that
• 40:25
  I
• 40:25
  was
• 40:25
  in
• 40:26
  for.
• 40:26
  Oh,
• 40:26
  I
• 40:26
  think
• 40:27
  we
• 40:27
  were
• 40:27
  in
• 40:27
  for
• 40:27
  18
• 40:28
  months,
• 40:28
  getting
• 40:29
  the
• 40:29
  kids
• 40:29
  through
• 40:29
  school.
• 40:31
  Holy
• 40:31
  smokes.
• 40:32
  They
• 40:32
  had
• 40:33
  built
• 40:33
  the
• 40:33
  back
• 40:34
  deck
• 40:34
  with
• 40:34
  the
• 40:34
  wrong
• 40:35
  wood.
• 40:35
  They
• 40:35
  bought
• 40:36
  white
• 40:37
  wood,
• 40:37
  two
• 40:37
  by
• 40:37
  fours,
• 40:38
  like
• 40:39
  you
• 40:39
  were
• 40:39
  framing
• 40:39
  a
• 40:39
  wall
• 40:40
  and
• 40:41
  it
• 40:41
  was
• 40:41
  a
• 40:41
  hem
• 40:41
  fur.
• 40:42
  And
• 40:42
  then
• 40:43
  they
• 40:43
  used
• 40:43
  the
• 40:43
  cheapest
• 40:44
  stain
• 40:44
  known
• 40:44
  to
• 40:45
  mankind,
• 40:45
  that
• 40:45
  orangey
• 40:47
  red.
• 40:48
  That's
• 40:48
  like
• 40:48
  water.
• 40:49
  Five
• 40:50
  years
• 40:50
  in,
• 40:50
  six
• 40:50
  years
• 40:51
  in,
• 40:51
  this
• 40:51
  stuff
• 40:51
  was
• 40:51
  rotten.
• 40:52
  I
• 40:53
  was
• 40:53
  literally
• 40:53
  falling
• 40:54
  through
• 40:54
  the
• 40:54
  deck.
• 40:55
  You
• 40:55
  need
• 40:56
  to
• 40:56
  make
• 40:56
  sure
• 40:56
  that
• 40:56
  when
• 40:57
  you're
• 40:57
  doing
• 40:57
  these
• 40:57
  kind
• 40:58
  of
• 40:58
  projects
• 40:59
  that
• 40:59
  if
• 40:59
  it's
• 41:00
  pressure
• 41:00
  treated,
• 41:01
  it's
• 41:01
  pressure
• 41:01
  treated.
• 41:02
  If
• 41:03
  it's
• 41:03
  five
• 41:03
  quarter
• 41:04
  cedar,
• 41:04
  it's
• 41:04
  five
• 41:04
  quarter
• 41:05
  cedar.
• 41:06
  But
• 41:06
  you
• 41:06
  want
• 41:06
  to
• 41:07
  be
• 41:07
  using
• 41:07
  materials
• 41:07
  that
• 41:08
  are
• 41:08
  exterior
• 41:08
  rated.
• 41:09
  The
• 41:09
  framing
• 41:09
  should
• 41:10
  be
• 41:10
  metal
• 41:10
  or
• 41:10
  pressure
• 41:11
  treated,
• 41:12
  and
• 41:12
  that
• 41:12
  way
• 41:12
  you're
• 41:12
  good
• 41:13
  to
• 41:13
  go.
• 41:13
  So
• 41:14
  be
• 41:14
  really
• 41:14
  careful
• 41:15
  out
• 41:15
  there
• 41:15
  on
• 41:15
  the
• 41:15
  materials
• 41:16
  because
• 41:16
  you
• 41:17
  can't
• 41:17
  just
• 41:17
  take
• 41:17
  a
• 41:17
  cheap
• 41:18
  wood,
• 41:19
  put
• 41:19
  a
• 41:19
  good
• 41:19
  finish
• 41:20
  on
• 41:20
  it,
• 41:20
  think
• 41:20
  it's
• 41:20
  going
• 41:20
  to
• 41:20
  hold
• 41:21
  up.
• 41:22
  It's
• 41:22
  not
• 41:22
  that
• 41:22
  way.
• 41:23
  Any
• 41:23
  scratch,
• 41:24
  any
• 41:24
  type
• 41:24
  of
• 41:25
  wear
• 41:25
  comes
• 41:25
  through
• 41:26
  the
• 41:26
  finish
• 41:26
  and
• 41:27
  it
• 41:27
  will
• 41:27
  rot
• 41:28
  prematurely
• 41:29
  and
• 41:29
  you're
• 41:29
  going
• 41:29
  to
• 41:29
  have
• 41:29
  a
• 41:30
  heck
• 41:30
  of
• 41:30
  a
• 41:30
  mess.
• 41:31
  So
• 41:32
  take
• 41:32
  the
• 41:32
  time,
• 41:33
  build
• 41:33
  the
• 41:33
  deck,
• 41:34
  repair
• 41:34
  the
• 41:34
  red
• 41:35
  the
• 41:35
  right
• 41:35
  way,
• 41:36
  and
• 41:36
  you
• 41:36
  should
• 41:36
  be
• 41:37
  much
• 41:37
  better
• 41:37
  off.
• 41:37
  But
• 41:38
  just
• 41:38
  be
• 41:38
  really
• 41:39
  careful
• 41:40
  with
• 41:41
  what
• 41:41
  materials
• 41:42
  you're
• 41:42
  using.
• 41:42
  And
• 41:43
  these,
• 41:43
  these
• 41:43
  deck
• 41:44
  refinishers
• 41:45
  can
• 41:45
  be
• 41:46
  cool,
• 41:46
  but
• 41:47
  oh,
• 41:47
  man,
• 41:48
  that
• 41:49
  is
• 41:49
  insanely
• 41:51
  messy
• 41:51
  to
• 41:51
  clean
• 41:52
  up
• 41:52
  afterwards.
• 41:53
  So
• 41:53
  when
• 41:53
  you're
• 41:53
  done,
• 41:54
  and
• 41:55
  my
• 41:55
  tip
• 41:56
  for
• 41:56
  any
• 41:56
  of
• 41:56
  these
• 41:57
  things,
• 41:58
  I
• 41:58
  don't
• 41:58
  recommend
• 41:59
  going
• 41:59
  into
• 41:59
  the
• 41:59
  home
• 41:59
  improvement
• 42:00
  store.
• 42:00
  You
• 42:00
  can,
• 42:01
  but
• 42:01
  I
• 42:01
  would
• 42:02
  much
• 42:02
  rather
• 42:02
  walk
• 42:03
  into
• 42:03
  a
• 42:03
  store,
• 42:04
  talk
• 42:04
  to
• 42:04
  the
• 42:05
  professional
• 42:05
  behind
• 42:06
  the
• 42:06
  counter.
• 42:06
  And
• 42:06
  that's
• 42:06
  the
• 42:07
  problem.
• 42:07
  Mo
• 42:07
  many
• 42:07
  paint
• 42:08
  stores
• 42:08
  you've
• 42:08
  got,
• 42:08
  you
• 42:09
  could
• 42:09
  have
• 42:09
  somebody
• 42:10
  at
• 42:10
  that
• 42:11
  independent
• 42:11
  retailer
• 42:12
  that's
• 42:12
  got
• 42:13
  20
• 42:13
  years
• 42:13
  of
• 42:13
  finishing
• 42:14
  back
• 42:14
  there,
• 42:14
  they
• 42:14
  know
• 42:15
  it,
• 42:15
  they've
• 42:15
  seen
• 42:15
  it,
• 42:16
  they've
• 42:16
  dealt
• 42:16
  with
• 42:16
  it,
• 42:16
  they've
• 42:17
  been
• 42:17
  on
• 42:17
  our
• 42:17
  warning
• 42:17
  claims
• 42:18
  and
• 42:19
  the
• 42:19
  paint
• 42:19
  person
• 42:19
  could
• 42:20
  have
• 42:20
  just
• 42:20
  read
• 42:20
  a
• 42:20
  brochure
• 42:21
  on
• 42:21
  it
• 42:21
  and
• 42:21
  they
• 42:22
  were
• 42:22
  the
• 42:22
  lawn
• 42:22
  and
• 42:23
  garden
• 42:23
  expert
• 42:23
  or
• 42:24
  the
• 42:24
  cart
• 42:24
  gatherer
• 42:24
  the
• 42:25
  day
• 42:25
  before.
• 42:26
  So
• 42:26
  you
• 42:26
  want
• 42:26
  to
• 42:26
  make
• 42:27
  sure
• 42:27
  that
• 42:27
  you
• 42:27
  got
• 42:27
  the
• 42:27
  right
• 42:28
  person
• 42:29
  doing
• 42:29
  the
• 42:29
  right
• 42:29
  job
• 42:30
  for
• 42:30
  you.
• 42:30
  So
• 42:31
  you're
• 42:31
  good
• 42:31
  to
• 42:31
  go.
• 42:32
  So
• 42:32
  deal
• 42:32
  with
• 42:32
  the
• 42:33
  company.
• 42:33
  If
• 42:34
  you're
• 42:34
  doing
• 42:34
  online
• 42:35
  searching
• 42:35
  and
• 42:35
  you
• 42:35
  want
• 42:36
  to
• 42:36
  do
• 42:36
  it,
• 42:36
  call
• 42:36
  the
• 42:36
  company
• 42:37
  up.
• 42:37
  Many
• 42:38
  of
• 42:38
  these
• 42:38
  people,
• 42:38
  if
• 42:39
  you
• 42:39
  go
• 42:39
  onto
• 42:39
  their
• 42:39
  website,
• 42:40
  they
• 42:40
  will
• 42:40
  have
• 42:40
  a
• 42:40
  technical
• 42:41
  help.
• 42:41
  Call
• 42:42
  the
• 42:42
  technical
• 42:42
  help
• 42:43
  up
• 42:43
  and
• 42:43
  ask
• 42:43
  those
• 42:43
  questions.
• 42:44
  That
• 42:45
  way
• 42:45
  you
• 42:45
  know
• 42:45
  what
• 42:45
  you're
• 42:45
  doing.
• 42:46
  That
• 42:47
  way
• 42:47
  you're
• 42:47
  good
• 42:47
  to
• 42:47
  go.
• 42:48
  And
• 42:48
  especially
• 42:49
  if
• 42:49
  you're
• 42:49
  using
• 42:49
  one
• 42:49
  of
• 42:50
  these
• 42:50
  deck
• 42:50
  corrects
• 42:51
  or
• 42:51
  things
• 42:51
  like
• 42:52
  that,
• 42:52
  which
• 42:52
  are
• 42:52
  these
• 42:52
  resurfacers,
• 42:54
  they're
• 42:54
  designed
• 42:55
  to
• 42:55
  put
• 42:55
  a
• 42:55
  good
• 42:55
  face
• 42:56
  on
• 42:56
  a
• 42:56
  bad
• 42:56
  deck
• 42:57
  and
• 42:57
  it
• 42:57
  gives
• 42:58
  you
• 42:58
  something
• 42:58
  that
• 42:58
  hoses
• 42:59
  off
• 42:59
  easily.
• 43:00
  That'll
• 43:00
  make
• 43:00
  it
• 43:00
  look
• 43:01
  a
• 43:01
  little
• 43:02
  bit
• 43:02
  better.
• 43:03
  But
• 43:03
  like
• 43:03
  I
• 43:03
  said
• 43:04
  earlier,
• 43:04
  it's
• 43:04
  something
• 43:05
  that
• 43:05
  you
• 43:05
  can't
• 43:06
  take
• 43:06
  back
• 43:06
  off
• 43:06
  again
• 43:07
  without
• 43:07
  a
• 43:07
  ton
• 43:07
  of
• 43:07
  work.
• 43:08
  At
• 43:08
  that
• 43:08
  point,
• 43:08
  you're
• 43:08
  just
• 43:09
  better
• 43:09
  off
• 43:09
  to
• 43:09
  put
• 43:09
  a
• 43:10
  new
• 43:10
  deck
• 43:10
  on
• 43:10
  there
• 43:11
  and
• 43:11
  most
• 43:11
  likely
• 43:12
  a
• 43:12
  composite.
• 43:13
  Hey,
• 43:13
  if
• 43:13
  you
