- 0:01Speaker 1: The Country 92.5 Morning Show has your chance to win
- 0:03Speaker 1: $ 250 from The Voice. All it takes is a question
- 0:09Speaker 1: from Amanda Jo, and she's got it ready to go.
- 0:11Speaker 2: All right, The Voice continues tonight at 8 o'clock on
- 0:14Speaker 2: NBC Connecticut. But think back to last week when you
- 0:18Speaker 2: hear this question. When you go to sporting events, sometimes
- 0:21Speaker 2: teams will reward you with a T-shirt shot out of
- 0:24Speaker 2: a cannon. Coach Riley Green has his own take on
- 0:28Speaker 2: how to reward the live audience with a voice T-shirt.
- 0:31Speaker 2: How does he do it?
- 0:33Speaker 1: 860-249-9250. Answer it properly and you will get $ 250 from
- 0:36Speaker 1: our friends at The Voice. Country 92.5. We are The
- 0:38Speaker 1: Morning Show. Who are you? Hi, Debbie. Hi, Debbie. Chance
- 0:49Speaker 1: for you to win $ 250 from The Voice. Here is
- 0:51Speaker 1: the question in case you missed it.
- 0:53Speaker 2: When you go to sporting events, sometimes teams will reward
- 0:55Speaker 2: you with a T-shirt shot out of a cannon. Coach
- 0:58Speaker 2: Riley Green has his own take on how to reward
- 1:00Speaker 2: the live audience with a Voice T-shirt. How does he
- 1:02Speaker 2: do it?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Come on, girl. He casted them out on a fishing line. Yeah!
- 1:10Speaker 1: Country 92.5. It's a morning show. Hope you had a
- 1:16Speaker 1: great weekend. Had some beautiful weather for it. Let's recap
- 1:21Speaker 1: our weekends. Mine's super easy because most of it got
- 1:23Speaker 1: derailed by the fact that my wife was under the weather. However,
- 1:27Speaker 1: we do have sporting updates. Tucker played soccer. Team lost.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And then Tessa Grace had a field hockey thing, and
- 1:33Speaker 1: then they won. So the TNT Joke Factory, half and
- 1:37Speaker 1: half in the win and loss column. You, on the
- 1:40Speaker 1: other hand, were everywhere. I was busy.
- 1:43Speaker 2: That's why I'm going. What day is it? Friday. I
- 1:45Speaker 2: went to the Big E one more time. Shout out
- 1:48Speaker 2: to Connecticut Valley Brewing Company. They had a pickle sour beer.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I tried it. I gave it a whirl. It was
- 1:57Speaker 2: quite delightful. And they put a big old dill pickle
- 1:59Speaker 2: like in the beer.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Oh, I loved it.
- 2:01Speaker 2: It was great. If you're not familiar, they do have
- 2:03Speaker 2: a location, very nice location in South Windsor. So highly suggest.
- 2:08Speaker 2: It's called Pickle Juice Sour Ale.
- 2:10Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I had a wedding on Saturday. Again, I'm going, what
- 2:15Speaker 2: day is it? And then yesterday, I did go down
- 2:19Speaker 2: to Pratt Street to check out the Fall Festival. I
- 2:21Speaker 2: was there quick. Shout out to the School of Rock,
- 2:24Speaker 2: the girls that were there playing some 90s rock. I
- 2:27Speaker 2: was loving that. And then I ended up at Mercado.
- 2:31Speaker 2: to watch the Pats game. I'm going by that time.
- 2:34Speaker 2: It was, we were at halftime and the sports bars.
- 2:37Speaker 2: If you're going to watch games, I'm going, are probably
- 2:39Speaker 2: going to be filled. So I went, why don't I
- 2:41Speaker 2: go get myself a nice limoncello spritzer? It's not going
- 2:44Speaker 2: to be cray cray there. Cause you wouldn't think to
- 2:46Speaker 2: go watch at a fancier pizza, Italian joint.
- 2:49Speaker 1: So is that the shops farming Valley? Yeah. That's nice.
- 2:52Speaker 1: That's a nice joint.
- 2:53Speaker 2: One of their locations. It was quite delightful. So yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 2: it was good. It was good. The weather was perfect
- 2:58Speaker 2: all weekend.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I live vicariously through you. But it was a
- 3:01Speaker 1: good weekend. We hope you had a good weekend, too.
- 3:05Speaker 1: And now we're back to it on a Monday. Got
- 3:07Speaker 1: to test Amanda Jo with Find the Foe. In case
- 3:11Speaker 1: you don't know how it works, I've got three bizarre headlines.
- 3:14Speaker 1: One of them I made up. The other two, absolutely true.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And today is the candy corn edition. Wait till you
- 3:22Speaker 1: hear what the headlines are coming up next on the
- 3:24Speaker 1: Country 92.5 Morning Show. 741 Monday morning. Country 92.5 Morning Show.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Amanda Jo, Roxanne, our therapy dog, and I'm Damon. Time
- 3:38Speaker 1: to play Find the Fake. Three weird headlines. Two of
- 3:42Speaker 1: them are going to be true. One of them I
- 3:43Speaker 1: made up. Can she figure out which one's the fake?
- 3:46Speaker 1: And it's the candy corn edition, which, by the way,
- 3:50Speaker 1: She absolutely hates.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I don't know what's worse, candy corn or Peeps.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Dang, that is a good one. Yeah. I'm going to
- 3:56Speaker 1: go with Peeps on this one. So here's headline number one.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Tombstone releases candy corn pizza. Number two, Brock's releases candy
- 4:08Speaker 1: corn cologne. Or is it number three? Hidden Valley releases
- 4:14Speaker 1: candy corn infused ranch dressing. Go, girl.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I think number two is true because I feel like
- 4:23Speaker 2: I've seen that. The candy corn cologne.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Now we are down to tombstone and candy corn pizza
- 4:29Speaker 1: or Hidden Valley candy corn infused ranch dressing.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I think you made up the Hidden Valley ranch dressing.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Here's my reasoning. Tombstone is very... specific kind of frozen
- 4:43Speaker 2: pizza and not as popular as it used to be
- 4:45Speaker 2: in the 90s true do you want on your tombstone
- 4:48Speaker 2: pepperoni and sausage um but hidden valley's been doing a
- 4:52Speaker 2: lot of crazy things so i felt like you you
- 4:55Speaker 2: thought that was a good crutch possibly believable but not.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Once again read my mind yeah the tombstone one it's
- 5:01Speaker 1: uh technically just a pepperoni pizza and then you can
- 5:04Speaker 1: sprinkle the candy corn on it if you choose sounds
- 5:07Speaker 1: horrible yeah sounds horrible yeah it's And Brock's, again, has
- 5:11Speaker 1: a candy corn cologne, so you can smell like your
- 5:14Speaker 1: favorite Halloween treat if you like.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Wasn't it called Chicken Feed initially?
- 5:19Speaker 1: It was. It was, and then they changed the name
- 5:21Speaker 1: to Candy Corn. Joke time. Joke time. Joke time. Joke time.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Joke time. Joke time. What are we doing today, Tess?
- 5:29Speaker 1: Jokes just for fun. Okay, we'll see how Amanda Jo
- 5:32Speaker 1: does on this one. All right, Tucker, hit me with
- 5:34Speaker 1: that joke. What did Jay-Z call his wife before they
- 5:37Speaker 1: were married? Jay-Z the rapper?
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 1: One more time. What did Jay-Z call his wife before
- 5:45Speaker 1: they were married? All right, let's see how Amanda Jo
- 5:47Speaker 1: does on this one or if she's going to need
- 5:49Speaker 1: some help. We're calling an audible. When I taped that,
- 5:52Speaker 1: we did not have a prize. Now we do. An
- 5:56Speaker 1: awesome prize. The Red Clay Strays are coming to O'Heek
- 6:00Speaker 1: and Son on March 18th. We have a pair of
- 6:02Speaker 1: tickets for you. If you can figure out that punchline.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But Amanda Jo gets to go first. Come on, girl.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Is it a play on Beyonce?
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yes, it is. Oh, his... She got it. Oof. I
- 6:17Speaker 1: was getting worried about you. Even after a long weekend,
- 6:20Speaker 1: you pulled it together.
- 6:21Speaker 2: But that's funny because her name is Beyonce.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I know why it's funny. Do you know what Amanda
- 6:26Speaker 1: Jo just figured out? Because you got red clay straight
- 6:29Speaker 1: tickets waiting for you right here. 860-249-9250. Give us a
- 6:32Speaker 1: call and we'll give them to you here on the
- 6:36Speaker 1: Country 92.5 Morning Show. Country 92.5 Morning Show. Good morning.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Who's this? Hello? What was that? Is that your heart monitor?
- 6:46Speaker 1: Are you in a hospital? No, I'm not.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Taking a turn?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Nope, just waiting. Who's this?
- 6:52Speaker 2: This is Rob.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Rob, a chance to go see the Red Clay Strays,
- 6:58Speaker 1: who are fantastic at Mohican Sun. Great place to go
- 7:02Speaker 1: see them. You just got to give me that punchline
- 7:04Speaker 1: that Amanda Jo figured out, so you better darn well
- 7:07Speaker 1: know it. What did Jay-Z call his wife before they
- 7:10Speaker 1: were married? Is this fiance? Tessa Grace, can I ask
- 7:15Speaker 1: you a question? Yes. What did Jay-Z call his wife
- 7:19Speaker 1: before they got married? Fiance.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Ding, ding, ding, ding.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Welcome to Monday on the Country 92.5 Morning Show. Not
- 7:30Speaker 1: just Monday, it's National Be Nice Day and Do Something
- 7:35Speaker 1: Nice Day. Nice. It is also National Get Funky Day.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So here's your chance. Hit it. Oh, yeah. Get funky.
- 7:50Speaker 1: And I got to send a shout out to the
- 7:51Speaker 1: missus because it's World Teacher Day. I love you, bunny.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Birthdays today, top three, Travis Kelsey, a.k.a. Mr. Taylor Swift,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I'm sure he loves being called that, is 37. Actor
- 8:04Speaker 1: Jesse Eisenberg, 43. And actress Kate Winslet, 51. And those
- 8:10Speaker 1: are today's special days and birthdays on the Country 92.5
- 8:14Speaker 1: Morning Show. Happy Monday, 5.58, and the morning show is
- 8:19Speaker 1: in full effect. My name's Damon, and here to hit
- 8:22Speaker 1: your headlines, Amanda Jo.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I just had to look. I was like, what day
- 8:29Speaker 2: is it? It's the 5th.
- 8:30Speaker 1: It's the 5th.
- 8:30Speaker 2: If you didn't know, it's October 5th. Weather today, mostly sunny,
- 8:34Speaker 2: breezy highs in the upper 60s. Foosball, NFL. The New
- 8:39Speaker 2: York Giants beat the Cardinals 36-24. The Bears beat the
- 8:44Speaker 2: Jets 23-12. And the Patriots, oh, it was close. They
- 8:48Speaker 2: beat the Bills.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Dude, they were scaring me at the end.
- 8:51Speaker 2: UConn, Syracuse beat UConn. 42 to 41. That was real close.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yankees lost to Tampa Bay on Saturday. Today is game two,
- 9:00Speaker 2: 8 p.m. in Florida. This is the American League Division Series.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Best of five. And the state. This was my biggest qualm. Look,
- 9:08Speaker 2: I know people from Massachusetts have a nickname when it
- 9:11Speaker 2: comes to driving, but there is a method to our madness.
- 9:14Speaker 2: And what always freaked me out when I first got
- 9:17Speaker 2: here was it was like a free for all on
- 9:19Speaker 2: the highway because people would hang out in the left
- 9:22Speaker 2: lane doing 65 miles an hour. And I'm going, this
- 9:24Speaker 2: is the passing lane. If you're not passing, you need
- 9:26Speaker 2: to move. And then you know what that does when
- 9:28Speaker 2: people hang out there? It encourages weaving through traffic. So
- 9:32Speaker 2: now you've got to be totally on guard on your
- 9:34Speaker 2: right and your left. I've gotten used to it. But
- 9:36Speaker 2: last week, the state of Connecticut has now reminded people
- 9:41Speaker 2: that pass, left, drive, right is the law. Under the law,
- 9:44Speaker 2: drivers must stay in the right lane unless they're passing
- 9:47Speaker 2: another vehicle, preparing for a left-hand exit, or... in other
- 9:51Speaker 2: permitted situations.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So now it's a ticketable offense yes.
- 9:55Speaker 2: 88 bucks a ticket if you're not and look i
- 9:58Speaker 2: mean i'm usually i'm not gonna lie lie, I'm usually
- 10:00Speaker 2: passing people because I'm going faster than them if they're
- 10:02Speaker 2: in the middle lane. So it works.
- 10:05Speaker 1: It works.
- 10:05Speaker 2: But if you are not passing somebody.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Move over. Feel better now?
- 10:10Speaker 2: I do.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I do.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I couldn't even believe that wasn't even an official law
- 10:15Speaker 2: until I saw people talking about it. I'm like, trust me,
- 10:18Speaker 2: it works.
- 10:18Speaker 1: 6.01 in the morning. She's already had a rant, you guys.
- 10:21Speaker 1: It's going to be a good week.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Method to the madness.
- 10:23Speaker 1: It's going to be a good week. And those are
- 10:25Speaker 1: the headlines today. Going to get some traffic for you,
- 10:29Speaker 1: as a matter of fact. Real quick, get you back
- 10:31Speaker 1: to music. Then we'll do our fascinating facts thanks to
- 10:34Speaker 1: Sunday football. NFL facts today. including the astounding wait time
- 10:40Speaker 1: for Packers season tickets. We'll talk about it in 15 minutes. Oh,
- 10:45Speaker 1: thank you, George. I love you. And we appreciate you.
- 10:51Speaker 1: It's 6.09 in the morning. You're up and rolling. Beautiful thing.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Amanda Jo's over there. My name's Damon. Today's fascinating facts.
- 10:58Speaker 1: I saw one fact that came up during Sunday football,
- 11:01Speaker 1: and so I looked up some other ones. The fact
- 11:03Speaker 1: was that 12 NFL teams have never won a Super
- 11:06Speaker 1: Bowl and four have never even been to one. Any
- 11:08Speaker 1: idea of any of the teams that have never even
- 11:10Speaker 1: been to a Super Bowl? Just take a stab and
- 11:14Speaker 1: I'll tell you the rest of them.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I feel like I knew this last year because I
- 11:17Speaker 2: wanted– the Bills have never won. No, they haven't? No,
- 11:22Speaker 2: I'm not even going to try.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Browns, Texans, Lions, Jaguars.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Okay, the Lions have never been to the Super Bowl?
- 11:27Speaker 1: Nope.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Oh, they got close. That's right. I was kind of like,
- 11:30Speaker 2: I was hoping for them one year.
- 11:32Speaker 1: This stat is sad. Approximately 80% of NFL players go
- 11:37Speaker 1: broke within three to five years of retirement. Yeah, I
- 11:40Speaker 1: knew that. They burn through it. And this one, wow.
- 11:45Speaker 1: The Green Bay Packers have the longest waiting list for
- 11:47Speaker 1: season tickets by far. The average wait time now is estimated...
- 11:52Speaker 1: is estimated to be 975 years. So don't count on
- 11:58Speaker 1: getting them soon. Maybe your granddaughter's granddaughter's granddaughter. Get them. Anyway,
- 12:04Speaker 1: there's today's fascinating facts on the Country 92.5 morning show
- 12:08Speaker 1: to be followed by today's scoop, which includes.
- 12:11Speaker 2: It's really more of what country artists were up to
- 12:15Speaker 2: over the weekend, including why Miranda might have beer cans
- 12:19Speaker 2: in her hair.
- 12:20Speaker 1: We'll talk about it in 15 minutes here on the
- 12:22Speaker 1: Country 92.5 Morning Show. Hey, welcome to the Country 92.5
- 12:26Speaker 1: Morning Show, and welcome to The Scoop, sponsored by Monaco Ford.
- 12:30Speaker 1: My name is Damon, and here to do the scooping,
- 12:32Speaker 1: my partner, Amanda Jo.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Well, congrats to Kenny Chesney on a second week at
- 12:37Speaker 2: number one with his song, Carry On. A little quiet
- 12:41Speaker 2: on the front, I would say, at least on... artist
- 12:45Speaker 2: socials over the weekend. I mean, a lot have just
- 12:47Speaker 2: come off the road. So what have they been doing? Well,
- 12:49Speaker 2: I'll tell you, the dudes have been doing a lot
- 12:51Speaker 2: of hunting. A lot of country guys showing off their spoils.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Coe Wetzel, Riley Green. Riley snagged
- 12:58Speaker 2: a big old elk in Utah.
- 12:59Speaker 1: That thing was huge. Huge.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I mean, the first part of the caption said, freezer
- 13:04Speaker 2: is full. So, yeah, that's what they're doing with their downtime.
- 13:07Speaker 2: And Miranda, the girls have been busy. She dropped a
- 13:10Speaker 2: new album on Friday called Crisco. She posted up a
- 13:15Speaker 2: picture over the weekend that just said, capture this. And
- 13:17Speaker 2: it's her with beer cans as hair rollers showing off
- 13:20Speaker 2: a knife and some onions. If you've listened to the album,
- 13:23Speaker 2: it is a teaser for cutting onions off of the album,
- 13:26Speaker 2: which I really enjoyed.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I love it.
- 13:28Speaker 2: That is one of my favorites off of the album.
- 13:30Speaker 1: It's great. It's good. And some of the captions are
- 13:32Speaker 1: pretty funny. You should go to her Insta and check
- 13:34Speaker 1: it out. There you go. That's the scoop on a
- 13:37Speaker 1: Monday here on the Country 92.5 Morning Show. Up next,
- 13:41Speaker 1: let's do a feel-good story. There are a lot of good,
- 13:44Speaker 1: honest people in this world, but this one guy, wow, exceptional.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you why I'm saying that in 15 minutes
- 13:51Speaker 1: here on the Country 92.5 Morning Show. Country 92.5, happy Monday. Man,
- 13:57Speaker 1: we're both yawning today.
- 13:58Speaker 2: It's Monday.
- 13:59Speaker 1: It is Monday. That's Amanda Jo. My name's Damon. 6.40,
- 14:03Speaker 1: time for today's feel-good story. And like I said, there's
- 14:06Speaker 1: a lot of good, honest people in the world, but
- 14:09Speaker 1: this story, I saw it everywhere. 37-year-old man in Texas
- 14:13Speaker 1: finds a bag stuffed with $ 128, 000 with a smaller bag
- 14:19Speaker 1: with 19 checks in it sitting on top of an ATM.
- 14:22Speaker 2: That doesn't look sketchy at all.
- 14:25Speaker 1: So apparently there's something on the bags that indicated it
- 14:27Speaker 1: might be from Chick-fil-A, so he goes to a Chick-fil-A.
- 14:30Speaker 1: And the manager's like, it's not ours. So from there,
- 14:35Speaker 1: it goes to the police department. They determined that a
- 14:38Speaker 1: Brinks technician had been servicing the thing and left the
- 14:42Speaker 1: money in the checks behind. Every single dollar was there.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And the man who asked to remain anonymous told police
- 14:50Speaker 1: it was just the right thing to do.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Hope that guy from Brinks still has a job.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Right. That's what I was thinking, too. 128 grand he
- 14:58Speaker 1: left to sit behind.
- 14:59Speaker 2: That would be very impressive. Now I wonder how much
- 15:01Speaker 2: Chick-fil-A pulls in in a day, if that's what they
- 15:04Speaker 2: were thinking it was coming from.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Right? That was a successful franchise. So there you go.
- 15:10Speaker 1: There's today's feel-good story here on the Country 92.5 Morning Show.
