- 0:03Well we're going to do something new and different this time on
- 0:05the Rancho podcast, for those who are listening to the
- 0:08podcast. We're actually doing a video
- 0:10version and we're going to call this series inside the Urantia
- 0:16book. And my intention is to introduce
- 0:20people who are just now hearing about the book and maybe want to
- 0:24know a little bit about it and a little bit about me, I've been a
- 0:28reader for a long, long time. And I've had a podcast now.
- 0:32Now for a few years and in every podcast which you can find at
- 0:36your Ranch radio dotnet, I tackle issues in the book having
- 0:42to do with current life. The way things are going in
- 0:46society, new discoveries that are made that substantiate the
- 0:50Rancho book and I just want to go over a couple of things.
- 0:55This time, I wanted to get at least four points to you, which
- 1:00I think are pretty interesting. Now, I'm just too laid-back guy,
- 1:04I am not a preacher and I don't claim to have any kind of
- 1:07affiliation with with any church or any belief system.
- 1:12I don't I mean I believe in the Divinity of Christ and I believe
- 1:18that all human beings are endowed with the spirit and that
- 1:22we all have potential and that there is a great life ahead.
- 1:26This life is also extremely important and will probably
- 1:30prove to be one of the more Resting, but it's a starting
- 1:33point. It's where we learn the
- 1:37rudiments of morality and ethics and how to get along, how to
- 1:42treat people and how to serve one another, you know, no other
- 1:48animal species thinks about any of those things, they simply
- 1:52exist as they were born and they have their characteristics and
- 1:56they just do what they do without questioning.
- 1:58But human beings were different. You know, we have, will we have
- 2:03choice? We have self-determination, we
- 2:07have wisdom. Well, some of us anyway, and we
- 2:12are always exploring. We're always looking for
- 2:16something. We're always building better
- 2:19things. We're always trying to figure
- 2:20things out and manipulate, and make our life better and more
- 2:25pleasurable. And along the way.
- 2:29And our human history, we've been giving we've been given
- 2:32glimpses of Truth just enough that we can understand but also
- 2:39that help us to become better at being human beings.
- 2:43And so I thought, what I would first do is just explain to you
- 2:47what the Rancho book is. It's a 2,000 page book.
- 2:51It's divided into four parts. It's about 196, separate
- 2:58individual, Essays or papers and each one of those specific
- 3:05papers. It's almost like a history book.
- 3:08It Starts from the very beginning of things and then it
- 3:11moves along a linear time scale to eventually the appearance of
- 3:17human beings. And then it also gives us a
- 3:20glimpse into two things, one where our Earth is headed.
- 3:26As the species and what we can expect in the future.
- 3:30And to what's ahead for each of us in our own personal spiritual
- 3:35journey that we are destined to go to a specific place.
- 3:39And but that's not the last place we'll go to the the
- 3:44overall presentation of the Urantia book is that there is a
- 3:48huge Universe of multiple universes and multiple kinds of
- 3:55life forms. And we represent one specific
- 3:59type of What they call a sending Sons.
- 4:02We are ascending human beings or as science likes to call a
- 4:06sentient human beings but we are sending we're becoming more
- 4:11intellectual more spiritual with each life that we take up in
- 4:16this journey. So, the Urantia book is
- 4:19basically the story of that it simply tells us what we can
- 4:25expect in this journey and what is expected of us as well, in
- 4:30terms of personal behavior and conduct.
- 4:34And the way that we think, you know, one of the things I like
- 4:38about the Rancho book is that the authors put a lot of
- 4:41emphasis on thinking the quality of thinking and the quality of
- 4:46thinking can only be improved. By the choices that a person
- 4:51makes in their life, whether they read, whether they are
- 4:55constantly seeking for new knowledge, if they make a choice
- 5:00and their quality of thinking improves, generally speaking
- 5:03that person's life also improves.
- 5:06And and I think I've seen a lot of examples in this smart people
- 5:12got there because they made decisions that made them
- 5:15smarter. So, the Rancho book to me, You
- 5:18know, I don't want to call it a religion because there's no
- 5:22formality. There's nothing that you do, you
- 5:25don't even have to adhere to believe, any of the Rancho book
- 5:27is true if you're worried about. You know, resurrection and
- 5:33having a soul, the Urantia book very plainly states that we all
- 5:37have the spirit of God in us and it's up to us to make that
- 5:41connection and to develop that connection and have that
- 5:44connection carry us into the next life.
- 5:49So where did it come from? Well, no one knows who exactly
- 5:53wrote it but we do know that each of the papers has a
- 5:57signatory, a being a personality States that they are responsible
- 6:03for that specific paper. Now if you read the book that
- 6:07each of the personalities is actually explained, So, for
- 6:12example, the first five papers are written by someone who
- 6:15refers to themselves as a Divine Minister.
- 6:19Now, what is the Divine Minister?
- 6:21Well, if you read in the first part of the Rancho book, where
- 6:24it gets to those groups of personalities, it explains who
- 6:29they are, where they came from, what their role is, and then you
- 6:34understand. Okay?
- 6:35Well, that's why this person was assigned to write this
- 6:39particular paper. So for example, Ample, you have
- 6:42some papers, some sections of the book that are written by
- 6:45seraphim. Angels one is actually written
- 6:48by solonian who claims to be the angel, that spoke to Eve and
- 6:54Adam in the Garden of Eden. So, there's other books papers
- 6:59that are written by various. Melchizedek's one is written by
- 7:03a Melchizedek who is still really important in the
- 7:06government of our world, even as we speak.
- 7:10So where did it come from? Well in the 1920s this man, a
- 7:16well-known doctor psychiatrist. Had a patient who talked in his
- 7:21sleep. And during the treatment or
- 7:25observation of this patient, they refer to as the sleeping
- 7:29subject. There were conversations that
- 7:32were had of a high order and the subject, informed the dr.
- 7:38Sadler and his wife, dr. Lana, Sadler that there would be
- 7:42a forthcoming Revelation and it appeared over a period of time
- 7:46in handwritten form and it would appear at this person's house
- 7:52and They tried to, you know, obviously the first thing you
- 7:55think of is the person wrote it or someone this person knows
- 7:59wrote it, but that was never made clear.
- 8:02There was never any credit taken by any human being and so taking
- 8:07at face value, the book, authors say that it's a revelation and
- 8:11its intended to advance Humanity.
- 8:15So, we have to judge it on that premise alone.
- 8:21Why is it important? Why is the Rancho book
- 8:23important? Well, you know, if you look
- 8:28around, it's easy to see that we're transitioning from one
- 8:31stage of existence to another You know, 100 200 years ago is
- 8:37not that long when you think of the fact that intelligent man or
- 8:41civilized man's been around for about four or five thousand
- 8:44maybe 10,000 years. But this particular period of
- 8:48time is much different. From any other previous time,
- 8:53things move very slowly up until about the 1820s and then things
- 8:58started to accelerate really really fast and because of that,
- 9:02I think that while we might be intellectually, prepared, maybe
- 9:06even physically prepared. We may not be spiritually.
- 9:11Morally, or ethically prepared, because we're not, we're not
- 9:15able to see the big picture. Of what's at stake of what else
- 9:19is out there of where we're headed.
- 9:21But we're supposed to be doing as a species where as a society
- 9:26we have all these differing, opinions, and Views.
- 9:28And there's, you know, geopolitical dominance.
- 9:31There's war and there's, you know, we just went through a
- 9:34pandemic which is probably the first time in modern history
- 9:37that we all went through it together and we were able to
- 9:40communicate with each other and communicate what was happening.
- 9:44You know, the events of the last 20-30 years were unprecedented
- 9:48in human history. So it is my belief that the
- 9:52revelator's, those who sponsored and mandated the book felt that
- 9:58it was necessary for us to have this new information, not only
- 10:01about our humble beginnings but also the beginnings of the
- 10:04universe and also projecting outward and forward what our
- 10:09responsibilities are as a human race.
- 10:13And you could take that on Merit, you know I always say to
- 10:15people don't take my word for it, you know read the book.
- 10:20Alright. And then my final statement, why
- 10:22should anyone read it? Well if if you're trying to get
- 10:26a sense of what could be true, and you really want to know that
- 10:33this world isn't in vain or if you want to have a better
- 10:36relationship with the Divine Creator or if you want to learn
- 10:41more about the life and example of Jesus or learn about our
- 10:45human history and how societies evolved or if you want to get a
- 10:51glimpse as to what a possibility could exist for us, moving
- 10:56forward, Then you're not going to be disappointed with the
- 11:00ranch. I booked it, the pros, the
- 11:03articulation the depth, the grammar, the the style.
- 11:12It's just a pleasurable experience.
- 11:15When you read the book you actually do sort of feel like
- 11:19You know wow whoever wrote this know what they were talking
- 11:22about, at least that's been my experience.
- 11:24So, but as people will tell you, it's something that I've been
- 11:28carrying with me for a long, long time.
- 11:30Since I was a young guy, 20 years old and I've never stopped
- 11:33reading it since And if you're wondering, if there's a church
- 11:38or any kind of a group, there are a group of readers
- 11:40worldwide, and a lot of them have started to form their own
- 11:43organizations, but it's not a requirement, it's no church,
- 11:49they don't have ministers, they don't have, they don't even have
- 11:52teachers, they have people that you can call and go to study
- 11:55groups and you can all Talk Amongst yourselves.
- 11:59But there's no real organizational structure outside
- 12:04of the association's and the organizations that that are
- 12:08doing social events. I just had a guy on my show not
- 12:12long ago, who took the book to a symposium by academics of
- 12:19science or religion in the United States.
- 12:24And he introduced the air at your book to the scholarly types
- 12:28because so little Known about the book even though it's been
- 12:32around for gosh you know little over almost a hundred years.
- 12:37Yeah. Anyway, so I hope that I was
- 12:40able to answer some questions and I hope that you will share
- 12:42this with others. And if you have any questions,
