- 0:00Speaker 1: And welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. So we are
- 0:04Speaker 1: entering day five of the Ghislaine Maxwell trial. And today
- 0:08Speaker 1: we can expect, at least at the start, for Juana
- 0:12Speaker 1: Lesi to take the stand and receive a bit of
- 0:16Speaker 1: a cross-examination from Ghislaine Maxwell's lawyers.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yesterday, the trial wrapped up about.
- 0:22Speaker 1: 13 minutes early because the, um, Defense didn't want to
- 0:28Speaker 1: dive in with only 13 minutes left, so they chose
- 0:32Speaker 1: to begin their cross today instead. So that's how the
- 0:36Speaker 1: trial should open up today. Juan Alessi back on the stand,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and Ghislaine Maxwell's lawyers hammering away, trying to punch some
- 0:46Speaker 1: holes in his story. Now, I would guess that they're
- 0:49Speaker 1: going to lock on to the fact that Juan Alessi
- 0:52Speaker 1: clipped $ 6, 300 from Jeffrey Epstein. to try and hammer home
- 0:59Speaker 1: the fact to the jury that this man is unreliable,
- 1:01Speaker 1: he's a thief, and he shouldn't be trusted. And that
- 1:06Speaker 1: is definitely the kind of strategy you would expect, right?
- 1:12Speaker 1: Because the testimony he's giving certainly does not look good
- 1:16Speaker 1: for their client. So if they can muck that up
- 1:19Speaker 1: a little bit and maybe throw a little bit of
- 1:22Speaker 1: doubt on his character and attempt to impugn who he is,
- 1:28Speaker 1: then it will make it a lot easier for them
- 1:31Speaker 1: to have the jury believing that the testimony he gave
- 1:34Speaker 1: was BS. So that's going to be the battle today
- 1:38Speaker 1: with the first witness. And I'm very interested to see
- 1:43Speaker 1: how it all shakes out. Because as we've seen in
- 1:47Speaker 1: the last few days, since the trial has started at
- 1:50Speaker 1: the very least, Team Maxwell has been going scorched earth.
- 1:55Speaker 1: And I would expect them to do the same here
- 1:57Speaker 1: with Juan Alessi. But the testimony he gave yesterday... You know,
- 2:04Speaker 1: it really corroborates a lot of things we've heard in
- 2:06Speaker 1: the past. We've heard about the double-sided dildos. The cleaning
- 2:13Speaker 1: up that he had to do. We've heard that story before.
- 2:16Speaker 2: We've also heard.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I mean... A huge amount of stories from Virginia... about
- 2:24Speaker 1: the same kind of deal. The two-sided dildo, the massages
- 2:29Speaker 1: being brought to the massage room. And what it does
- 2:33Speaker 1: is it just, it adds more meat to the bone, right?
- 2:36Speaker 1: More context. And it corroborates a lot of those things
- 2:39Speaker 1: that we had heard being reported in the news. Now,
- 2:43Speaker 1: those of us who have followed the case, we know
- 2:45Speaker 1: that all of this stuff is what really happened, right?
- 2:48Speaker 1: But when it comes out here in a courtroom setting, well,
- 2:52Speaker 1: there's no disputing it anymore. And for Virginia moving forward,
- 2:59Speaker 1: this can only bode well for her, in my opinion.
- 3:03Speaker 1: It just shows that she's been truthful throughout this whole
- 3:06Speaker 1: entire thing. That her recollection of what occurred.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Is bang on.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And for her, with her civil case starting January 4th
- 3:18Speaker 1: with the Joe Exotic of the Windsor family, Prince Andrew.
- 3:24Speaker 1: This is definitely some wind in the sails, in my opinion,
- 3:27Speaker 1: because Alessi was there for all of it. And him
- 3:35Speaker 1: recounting these things during this testimony, it just strengthens what
- 3:40Speaker 1: we already have heard from Virginia. So I thought that
- 3:44Speaker 1: that was a pretty interesting situation to unfold from yesterday's
- 3:49Speaker 1: testimony as well. Now, On the flip side of that,
- 3:53Speaker 1: like I said yesterday, I don't look at Juan Alessi
- 3:56Speaker 1: as a good guy in this either. In fact, I
- 4:01Speaker 1: don't really believe that there are too many good people
- 4:04Speaker 1: at all when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein. And that
- 4:07Speaker 1: goes for the people who are investigating him as well, unfortunately.
- 4:12Speaker 1: But Juan Alessi, he had a chance to stop this.
- 4:15Speaker 1: How many times could he have went to the authorities?
- 4:18Speaker 1: How many times have he could have you know, maybe
- 4:21Speaker 1: helped one of these girls.
- 4:23Speaker 2: But he didn't.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So I'm certainly not going to sit here and act
- 4:28Speaker 1: like Juan Alessi is, you know, some hero in this
- 4:31Speaker 1: story who came riding in on his horse in his
- 4:34Speaker 1: white shining armor to help get some justice. Because I
- 4:40Speaker 1: have a sneaking suspicion that he didn't do it of
- 4:42Speaker 1: his own volition. Pretty sure that he was probably pressured
- 4:46Speaker 1: by the authorities. Now, again, I don't have any evidence
- 4:50Speaker 1: of that directly, right? And I can't, you know, point
- 4:54Speaker 1: you to an article and say, hey, look, here's exactly
- 4:57Speaker 1: where it is, but it would make sense. And especially
- 5:01Speaker 1: considering that Alessi was somebody who basically admits that they
- 5:08Speaker 1: were a co-conspirator by picking these girls up. And so
- 5:13Speaker 1: what you mean to tell me, Mr. Alessi, is that
- 5:15Speaker 1: you would pick these girls up You would bring them
- 5:18Speaker 1: back to the house. They'd do the massage.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Air quotes.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You'd go in there, clean it up, find dildos and stuff,
- 5:25Speaker 1: and you didn't have any idea what was going on?
- 5:30Speaker 1: Talk about not having any kind of leg to stand
- 5:36Speaker 1: on with that argument, right?
- 5:39Speaker 2: What did you think was going on?
- 5:42Speaker 1: So... Juan Alessi is not somebody who I look at
- 5:45Speaker 1: in this story and say, oh yeah, this is one
- 5:48Speaker 1: of the few people who are good guys here. One
- 5:50Speaker 1: of the few people who really cared. Because it doesn't
- 5:54Speaker 1: seem like that's the case. Now, with that said, I'm
- 5:58Speaker 1: glad that he's testifying at least. Better late than never, right?
- 6:02Speaker 1: But they're going to attempt to really cut him off
- 6:08Speaker 1: at the legs today. They're going to go after his...
- 6:14Speaker 1: His theft of that $ 6, 300. They're going to ask him,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'm sure, some of the same questions that I just asked.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Why were you taking part in this if you thought
- 6:24Speaker 1: that this was wrong?
- 6:26Speaker 2: All of that stuff.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And they're going to look to really break him down
- 6:31Speaker 1: and shatter whatever credibility he has. Now, are they going
- 6:37Speaker 1: to be able to do that? I don't really know,
- 6:40Speaker 1: but I don't think so. When it comes to these
- 6:43Speaker 1: kinds of allegations, if it was just Mr. Alessi making
- 6:48Speaker 1: these allegations, I could definitely see how Maxwell's legal team
- 6:53Speaker 1: would be able to just cut that off at the pass.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But it's not that. Alessi is just one of many
- 7:01Speaker 1: witnesses that is being brought forward to paint.
- 7:04Speaker 2: The picture of.
- 7:07Speaker 1: The situation going on within Epstein's circle and how Ghislaine
- 7:11Speaker 1: Maxwell was a huge part of that. In fact, in
- 7:16Speaker 1: the testimony yesterday, he said that Ghislaine Maxwell came in
- 7:20Speaker 1: and she became, quote unquote, the lady.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Of the house.
- 7:24Speaker 1: So she was making all of the decisions. Nobody was
- 7:26Speaker 1: making those decisions for her. And it goes to show
- 7:31Speaker 1: you again that Maxwell was in a leadership role. She
- 7:37Speaker 1: was the one making these decisions about what occurred in
- 7:40Speaker 1: this house.
- 7:41Speaker 2: She was the one.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Setting up all of these different air quotes massages. And
- 7:49Speaker 1: according to the survivors. She was also the one participating
- 7:54Speaker 1: in the abuse sometimes. So while we're dealing with a
- 7:59Speaker 1: whole host of disgusting human beings. And that's pretty much
- 8:05Speaker 1: everybody we're going to hear about in the Jeffrey Epstein trial.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I mean the Glenn Maxwell trial.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Pretty much everybody we hear about is going to be
- 8:12Speaker 1: a scumbag. And the idea is going to be to
- 8:22Speaker 1: try and figure out which one of these scumbags is
- 8:26Speaker 1: really telling the truth. So that's going to be the
- 8:30Speaker 1: task for the jury and for the prosecutors and the
- 8:35Speaker 1: defense to hammer out. But so far, we haven't seen
- 8:39Speaker 1: anything from Maxwell as far as evidence. And I don't
- 8:43Speaker 1: mean in this trial, right? We have a long way
- 8:44Speaker 1: to go. I'm talking about leading up to this. There
- 8:47Speaker 1: was no big push about her innocence or anybody coming
- 8:51Speaker 1: forward saying, well, hey, look, Ghislaine Maxwell, this is real
- 8:54Speaker 1: out of character for her. She would never do this. Instead,
- 8:57Speaker 1: we had girl after girl come forward and talk about
- 9:01Speaker 1: how Maxwell was integral in their abuse. We have person
- 9:05Speaker 1: after person come forward and talk about how Ghislaine Maxwell
- 9:09Speaker 1: was just a scummy human being, how she talked about minorities,
- 9:14Speaker 1: how she talked about poor people. How she looked at
- 9:17Speaker 1: people who weren't part of her social circles as less than.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And you could see it in her behavior. The way
- 9:25Speaker 1: that she treated these girls. As if they were chattel.
- 9:28Speaker 1: As if they were playthings. As if they weren't human
- 9:31Speaker 1: beings with hopes, dreams, and aspirations. That's the true face
- 9:36Speaker 1: of Ghislaine Maxwell. That's the face that's been exposed to
- 9:39Speaker 1: me for the past two and a half years. And
- 9:43Speaker 1: I can't even imagine. How long the survivors have been seeing.
- 9:49Speaker 2: That.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Ugly mug in their face. I mean in their mind's eye.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Because what happened here folks.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Is.
- 10:00Speaker 1: one of the biggest miscarriages of justice perhaps ever and
- 10:07Speaker 1: all of these people all of these scummy individuals surrounding
- 10:11Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein people like this Alessi character
- 10:16Speaker 1: Chef Adam Lang all of these people that were around
- 10:20Speaker 1: and then have the audacity to talk about, oh, well.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I didn't see anything.
- 10:27Speaker 1: So now, when you get them finally on the stand,
- 10:29Speaker 1: someone like Alessi, and you have them under oath, it's
- 10:32Speaker 1: nice to see what they have to say. Because under
- 10:35Speaker 1: normal circumstances, I don't really trust what any of these
- 10:39Speaker 1: people say.
- 10:40Speaker 2: How can you?
- 10:42Speaker 1: The whole entire enterprise of Jeffrey Epstein's was absolutely draconian.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And all of these people who took part, all of
- 10:51Speaker 1: these people who facilitated it in some way. Maxwell, however,
- 10:58Speaker 1: she had a leadership role. She was in a position
- 11:04Speaker 1: where she was giving orders to other people so that
- 11:08Speaker 1: this whole entire thing could keep moving forward. That's what's
- 11:12Speaker 1: been alleged. So when you look at the levels of scumbaggery,
- 11:20Speaker 1: Juan Alessi is certainly on the chart, right? But not
- 11:24Speaker 1: as scummy as Ghislaine Maxwell. Not in my opinion, anyway.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So I'm very interested to see what else is coming
- 11:32Speaker 1: today as far as testimony from Alessi. Now, they're going
- 11:37Speaker 1: to attempt to have him go back on what he
- 11:42Speaker 1: said yesterday. They're going to try and trip him up.
- 11:45Speaker 1: And you have to expect that the Ghislaine Maxwell strategy
- 11:48Speaker 1: will hold here. And it'll be all guns blazing, evisceration,
- 11:55Speaker 1: and try and nuke them from the sky kind of shit.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Because remember, like I've said, since she's been arrested, it's
- 12:04Speaker 1: never going to be about the information in the courtroom, right?
- 12:09Speaker 1: That was never their goal. Their goal was to always
- 12:12Speaker 1: beat this on a game of loopholes and technicalities. And
- 12:15Speaker 1: when that ended, it became scorched earth, burn the whole
- 12:20Speaker 1: entire world down if we have to, to get Ghislaine
- 12:23Speaker 1: Maxwell off. And that's what they're going to do. The
- 12:27Speaker 1: question is, are people going to be receptive to it,
- 12:32Speaker 1: meaning the jurors? And if the previous few human trafficking
- 12:38Speaker 1: cases that involved big time people have set a precedent,
- 12:43Speaker 1: then this strategy is not going to work. This strategy
- 12:47Speaker 1: is going to fall on its face.
- 12:50Speaker 2: So we'll see a little.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Bit more today which way they're going, but it's going
- 12:55Speaker 1: to be very interesting how it all unfolds and what
- 12:58Speaker 1: other witnesses are brought up to the stand today. Again,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I looked around to try and find some of the
- 13:04Speaker 1: other witnesses. I wasn't able to find out who else
- 13:09Speaker 1: will be testifying today. So obviously tonight when we do
- 13:13Speaker 1: our evening roundup, we'll have all of that. But also
- 13:17Speaker 1: I wanted to touch on how Ghislaine Maxwell yesterday and
- 13:21Speaker 1: throughout the proceedings, I guess, has been sketching the court
- 13:26Speaker 1: artist as the court artist has been sketching her.
- 13:30Speaker 2: How creepy is that?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Imagine being this court artist and you're sitting there, you're
- 13:34Speaker 1: getting your sketch on. And as you're doing it, Ghislaine
- 13:37Speaker 1: Maxwell staring at you, doing a sketch of you. the
- 13:41Speaker 1: hell is wrong with this lady?
- 13:42Speaker 2: Pay attention to the trial. No more scribbling. You don't
- 13:45Speaker 2: need to draw any stick figures, okay? Pay attention to
- 13:49Speaker 2: what's going on here at the trial, Ms. Maxwell.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Who the hell sits there and sketches the sketch artist?
- 13:58Speaker 1: I thought that was a pretty interesting little tidbit from
- 14:00Speaker 1: one of the headlines I was reading today, and it
- 14:04Speaker 1: made me pause for a second. You would think you
- 14:06Speaker 1: have more important things to worry about if you're Ghislaine
- 14:09Speaker 1: Maxwell at this point. You're looking at 80 years of prison.
- 14:12Speaker 1: You're being called a human trafficker, a child abuser, Jeffrey
- 14:16Speaker 1: Epstein's co-conspirator, and you're worried about drawing a sketch of
- 14:21Speaker 1: the sketch artist? I would think that you'd be locked
- 14:25Speaker 1: into the case.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I know I would be.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to miss a damn thing, never mind
- 14:30Speaker 1: dropping sketches of people. So... The sketch artist, she went
- 14:39Speaker 1: on to say that she has had this happen to
- 14:41Speaker 1: her before. And she said that it was during one
- 14:48Speaker 1: of these previous trials that she had somebody sketching her
- 14:53Speaker 1: while she was doing the sketching.
- 14:56Speaker 2: The Parvis trial.
- 14:58Speaker 1: And then her comment was, I guess I look more
- 15:01Speaker 1: interesting since the lockouts and since COVID. which I thought
- 15:06Speaker 1: was a pretty funny statement by her. So I guess
- 15:09Speaker 1: it's not something that has never happened to her before,
- 15:12Speaker 1: but I would think that somebody like Maxwell, who is
- 15:16Speaker 1: basically fighting for their lives, would have bigger fish to fry.
- 15:19Speaker 2: If you will.
- 15:22Speaker 1: One other thing I wanted to touch on before we
- 15:24Speaker 1: wrap up this morning is the fact that Ghislaine Maxwell's
- 15:29Speaker 1: supposed husband, Scott Borgerson, hasn't been seen anywhere near this child.
- 15:35Speaker 1: So once again, it leads us back to the original question,
- 15:39Speaker 1: were they even married? What was going on with Scott
- 15:42Speaker 1: Borgeson and Ghislaine Maxwell? Obviously, there was some sort of
- 15:48Speaker 1: romantic connection there, according to reports. But were they really married?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Why were their finances tied up the way they were?
- 15:56Speaker 1: And what did Scott Borgeson gain from any of this?
- 16:02Speaker 1: It's been a question that I've been wondering for the
- 16:04Speaker 1: past few days, and also if he was going to
- 16:07Speaker 1: end up making an appearance at this trial at all.
- 16:10Speaker 1: And it certainly doesn't seem like he's going to. And
- 16:14Speaker 1: there's also been reports that he has moved on from
- 16:17Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell. So that whole entire sordid affair between Maxwell
- 16:22Speaker 1: and Borgeson, which was an absolute abomination from day one,
- 16:27Speaker 1: considering Borgeson left his wife and two kids for Ghislaine Maxwell...
- 16:31Speaker 1: Imagine that Thanksgiving conversation on the rebound, on the boomerang. So, mom,
- 16:37Speaker 1: we were over at dad's hanging out with Ghislaine Maxwell.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Choke on five pieces of turkey.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I mean, really? What sort of.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Maniac leaves his wife for Ghislaine Maxwell, first of all?
- 16:50Speaker 1: Second of all, have you ever seen a bigger shit
- 16:55Speaker 1: show than this whole entire ordeal?
- 16:59Speaker 2: Oh, it's her husband.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Her family doesn't know anything about it. But all of
- 17:02Speaker 1: a sudden, it's her husband, huh? So I would love
- 17:05Speaker 1: to be a roach in the rushes and to hear
- 17:08Speaker 1: that whole entire origin story, how that all came about.
- 17:12Speaker 1: And again, I'm interested to see if this dude shows
- 17:16Speaker 1: up at all to this trial. But it's kind of
- 17:19Speaker 1: looking like he's not going to. And more than likely,
- 17:24Speaker 1: that whole entire relationship of theirs was some kind of sham.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I can't really put my finger on it yet, what
- 17:30Speaker 1: was going on. I don't have enough information about the
- 17:34Speaker 1: whole entire deal, but there's always been something goofy about
- 17:38Speaker 1: the Borgerson and Ghislaine Maxwell relationship. I'm going to post
- 17:43Speaker 1: a couple of episodes later on. One of them will
- 17:45Speaker 1: be about Scott Borgerson and Ghislaine Maxwell. It's just one
- 17:51Speaker 1: of those questions that I've had for the last few days,
- 17:55Speaker 1: wondering if this guy was going to show up to
- 17:57Speaker 1: this trial at all. Because leading up to this, during
- 18:01Speaker 1: the proceedings for bail, Scott Borgerson was, you know, big
- 18:06Speaker 1: time involved. So I'm wondering what stopped that. And obviously,
- 18:13Speaker 1: that's probably one of those loose ends that we'll never
- 18:15Speaker 1: get to tie up. But one of those questions that
- 18:19Speaker 1: certainly is at the forefront of my mind. Not that
- 18:23Speaker 1: it's a huge deal, right, as far as the specifics
- 18:26Speaker 1: of the case, but Just one of those unanswered, loose
- 18:30Speaker 1: ends that I keep wondering about.
- 18:34Speaker 2: So we'll have to see if he shows up. We'll
- 18:36Speaker 2: see what occurs. We've got a long way to go
- 18:39Speaker 2: in this trial, folks. A long way to go.
- 18:42Speaker 1: And today, obviously, Day 5, Friday, we'll get our wrap-up
- 18:48Speaker 1: episode in as soon as the proceedings end. We'll do
- 18:50Speaker 1: the evening update. And then on Saturday and Sunday... you
- 18:56Speaker 1: can expect just some context episodes. I'll upload some more
- 19:00Speaker 1: stuff to kind of give you an idea of the
- 19:02Speaker 1: overall picture of what we're dealing with here. And a
- 19:07Speaker 1: few more episodes about whoever we might hear about today
- 19:11Speaker 1: in the testimony. Like I said, I have like 1,600
- 19:15Speaker 1: episodes that I've put out.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Over the last three years.
- 19:20Speaker 1: So there's pretty much nobody in this case that they're
- 19:23Speaker 1: going to touch on that i haven't done a deep
- 19:26Speaker 1: dive into so as the names pop up i'll add
- 19:29Speaker 1: those episodes for a little more context for those of
- 19:33Speaker 1: you who have just found the case or are looking
- 19:36Speaker 1: for more information and more than just a scratch of
- 19:39Speaker 1: the surface so that's what you can be on the
- 19:42Speaker 1: lookout for this weekend and then obviously monday right back
- 19:45Speaker 1: at it so that's going to wrap it up this
- 19:49Speaker 1: morning folks we are about, oh, I don't know, 24
- 19:53Speaker 1: minutes away from the trial starting. So that should give
- 19:56Speaker 1: you folks some time to listen to the episode and
- 19:59Speaker 1: then prepare yourselves for the trial.
- 20:02Speaker 2: All right, everybody.
- 20:03Speaker 1: If you'd like to contact me, you can do that
- 20:05Speaker 1: at BobbyCapucci at ProtonMail.com. That's B-O-B-B-Y C-A-P-U-C-C-I at protonmail.com. You
- 20:14Speaker 1: can also find me on Twitter at B-O-B-B-Y underscore C-A-P-U-C-C-I.
- 20:22Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to the Epstein Chronicles. Today
- 20:26Speaker 1: was the final day of the first week of the
- 20:30Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell trial and we saw testimony from three more witnesses.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Now today, there was a lot of testimony that was,
- 20:39Speaker 1: excuse me, a lot of the evidence that was introduced
- 20:43Speaker 1: under seal. And a lot of the evidence that was
- 20:48Speaker 1: introduced during the afternoon portion of this was visual in nature.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So there's not very much to go on as far
- 20:56Speaker 1: as notes for the duration of the afternoon sessions. A
- 21:01Speaker 1: lot of it was video and different... packets that were
- 21:07Speaker 1: prepared for the jurors previously. And so there's really not
- 21:11Speaker 1: too much about that. Now, what we do know about
- 21:15Speaker 1: those afternoon back and forths, we're going to get to
- 21:19Speaker 1: for sure. And obviously, Juan Alessi took the stand again today,
- 21:25Speaker 1: and he had to face the cross-examination from Ghislaine Maxwell's
- 21:29Speaker 1: legal team. And as you all know, They're playing for keeps.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It's a scorched earth policy for Ghislaine Maxwell's legal team.
- 21:38Speaker 1: And the same could be said for the way they
- 21:40Speaker 1: went about it today. They absolutely hammered Alessi on his
- 21:45Speaker 1: credibility and on a few of the other issues that
- 21:49Speaker 1: we touched on previously during his testimony, such as the
- 21:54Speaker 1: theft of the money, attempting to steal a gun from Epstein,
- 21:58Speaker 1: all kinds of wild stuff that go towards At the
- 22:02Speaker 1: very least, giving him the appearance of not being a
- 22:05Speaker 1: credible witness. And that's what the defense is looking to do, right?
- 22:09Speaker 1: In every aspect, they're looking to destroy the credibility of
- 22:13Speaker 1: any witness who might paint their client as guilty. And
- 22:20Speaker 1: Juan Alessi, he's not somebody who I have ever thought
- 22:25Speaker 1: of as a decent human being in this whole entire ordeal.
- 22:30Speaker 1: and him being a witness for the prosecution, you would
- 22:35Speaker 1: think that they would have had him prepared to stand
- 22:38Speaker 1: up a little bit better today. But overall, I thought
- 22:42Speaker 1: it was a relatively decent week for the prosecution. Not great,
- 22:47Speaker 1: but a relatively decent week for them. And I think
- 22:51Speaker 1: that the testimony is just going to get worse for
- 22:55Speaker 1: the defense. Once the survivor's are up on the stand
- 23:00Speaker 1: and they're giving their testimony and they're telling their stories,
- 23:04Speaker 1: it's going to be very impactful. And guys like Juan Alessi, well,
- 23:10Speaker 1: they just, you know, they fill in the blanks a
- 23:12Speaker 1: little bit, right? They can corroborate that Ghislaine was the
- 23:16Speaker 1: lady of the house, that Ghislaine was in Epstein's room
- 23:19Speaker 1: 95% of the time, according to court testimony. So that
- 23:24Speaker 1: puts her at the scene of the crime, right? And
- 23:26Speaker 1: I'm guessing that that was the goal for prosecution. Now, again,
- 23:34Speaker 1: we're talking about somebody who is not a great human
- 23:37Speaker 1: being and whose credibility can easily be poked at by
- 23:42Speaker 1: the defense. So what it will come down to, like
- 23:45Speaker 1: everything else in this trial, is what the jury thinks
- 23:48Speaker 1: about it. What does the jury think? Did the defense
- 23:51Speaker 1: make a good enough argument and put him in such
- 23:55Speaker 1: a bad light that they don't even pay attention to
- 23:58Speaker 1: his testimony?
- 23:59Speaker 2: Or do they believe what Mr.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Alessi said on the stand and, you know, move forward
- 24:05Speaker 1: with that thought in their head as this trial goes along?
- 24:09Speaker 1: And it looks to me, and again, folks, I am
- 24:11Speaker 1: certainly not a lawyer, right? I'm not a journalist, nothing
- 24:14Speaker 1: like that. But it looks to me like the defense,
- 24:17Speaker 1: I mean, the prosecution is setting the foundation here for
- 24:21Speaker 1: the way that they're going to paint the picture. bringing
- 24:24Speaker 1: these ex-employees, other people who might have been around as witnesses,
- 24:28Speaker 1: to set the scene. And then the testimony from the
- 24:33Speaker 1: survivors themselves, well, that's the hammer strike, right? That's when
- 24:38Speaker 1: you open up the heavens and let loose. You build
- 24:41Speaker 1: the foundation first, and then you build the house on
- 24:44Speaker 1: top of it. So I'm guessing that's what the prosecution
- 24:48Speaker 1: is doing right now, but Like I said earlier, there's
- 24:52Speaker 1: a lot of things that were sealed today, and I'm
- 24:55Speaker 1: not a fan of that at all. For those of
- 24:57Speaker 1: you who have listened to my podcast for the last
- 24:59Speaker 1: two and a half years, you know how I feel
- 25:01Speaker 1: about transparency, especially in cases like this, when there's been
- 25:05Speaker 1: a complete lack thereof. So I think it's important to
- 25:09Speaker 1: have as much transparency as possible here, and it was
- 25:13Speaker 1: already beyond the pale that there wasn't a call-in line established.
- 25:17Speaker 1: So now you're.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Going to continue to, you know.
- 25:21Speaker 1: play these transparent games, at least transparency games, I mean,
- 25:24Speaker 1: and keep things sealed as they're being introduced as evidence.
- 25:29Speaker 1: So there was a whole bunch of that today. Not
- 25:32Speaker 1: really a big fan. And again, I'm not in that courtroom, right?
- 25:36Speaker 1: I don't know what the motivations are to keep it sealed.
- 25:39Speaker 1: But I'm working off of the premise that I'm just
- 25:41Speaker 1: tired of no transparency in this case in general. And
- 25:47Speaker 1: it is long beyond time. that this whole entire thing
- 25:51Speaker 1: gets aired out, that more people know what's going on
- 25:54Speaker 1: here or what went on here. And there are so
- 25:58Speaker 1: many people who are interested in this case now that
- 26:00Speaker 1: had no interest in it previously. I can't tell you
- 26:05Speaker 1: how many people I have had contact me that, I'm
- 26:08Speaker 1: talking about people in my personal life who have never
- 26:11Speaker 1: really paid attention to my yelling and screaming from every
- 26:14Speaker 1: mountaintop about this, who are now interested in what's going on.
- 26:18Speaker 1: And I say, welcome, right? I'm not one of these
- 26:20Speaker 1: people who's going to deride you or break your chops. Hey, look,
- 26:24Speaker 1: we're all ignorant until we're not, right? A lot of
- 26:26Speaker 1: things I'm ignorant about. And this case was one of them.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I was ignorant to this whole thing until I wasn't.
- 26:32Speaker 1: So those of you who have just found this case
- 26:35Speaker 1: and this story, look, there's going to be a whole
- 26:39Speaker 1: lot for you to consume. Because there's so much more
- 26:44Speaker 1: than what you have been given, what you have been shown,
- 26:48Speaker 1: and even in this trial, what they're talking about. Remember,
- 26:52Speaker 1: this is a small scope of time that Jeffrey Epstein
- 26:56Speaker 1: and Maxwell were active. And this is only a small
- 27:00Speaker 1: amount of the girls who were actually abused by them,
- 27:03Speaker 1: according to accounts. So, remember, this is, I know it's
- 27:09Speaker 1: a cliche, the tip of the iceberg, but this is
- 27:11Speaker 1: legitimately the tip of the iceberg. And I wish that
- 27:18Speaker 1: there was more, right? I wish there was more people
- 27:21Speaker 1: on trial here. I wish that this was a RICO case,
- 27:24Speaker 1: but it's not that. The reality is, it is what
- 27:26Speaker 1: it is. And hopefully, when all is said and done,
- 27:31Speaker 1: they have enough to prosecute Maxwell and send her to
- 27:34Speaker 1: prison for the rest of her life. Because in my opinion,
- 27:39Speaker 1: that's where somebody who does these kinds of things belongs.
- 27:43Speaker 1: So today the battle was on trying to get to
- 27:47Speaker 1: a place where she does not have to go to
- 27:49Speaker 1: prison for the rest of her life. So let's take
- 27:52Speaker 1: a look at some of that testimony today. And what
- 27:54Speaker 1: I did was is I compiled it all and then
- 27:57Speaker 1: I put it into more of a digestible format so
- 28:00Speaker 1: that we could read through it with a little bit
- 28:02Speaker 1: less back and forth, kind of make it, I don't know,
- 28:04Speaker 1: a little easier to consume and hopefully a little shorter
- 28:09Speaker 1: than the 42 minutes or so that we've been rocking.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I know it's Friday and people got a lot going on.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Weekend staring us down the face. A lot of people
- 28:17Speaker 1: want to relax a little bit. And hell, I'm going
- 28:20Speaker 1: to take a day off tomorrow myself.
- 28:22Speaker 2: So I get it.
- 28:24Speaker 1: With that said, I tried to compile this all and
- 28:26Speaker 1: put it into a bit of a digestible format.
- 28:29Speaker 2: We'll see what's up. All right.
- 28:31Speaker 1: So day five of the Maxwell trial. Before the jury
- 28:35Speaker 1: even got into the room, the sparring had commenced. Maxwell's
- 28:40Speaker 1: lawyer was commenting about seeing a semen on the table
- 28:44Speaker 1: could be prejudicial. The prosecutor responds to this by stating
- 28:48Speaker 1: that it was a white stain and that it was
- 28:51Speaker 1: relevant in proving whether the massages were or were not
- 28:55Speaker 1: sexual in nature. Judge Nathan, she made a ruling that,
- 29:00Speaker 1: you know, that would be something that she would have
- 29:02Speaker 1: to use lab tests to permit. So remember, this is
- 29:06Speaker 1: all before the jury even got into the courtroom as
- 29:09Speaker 1: per the notes that were coming out. prosecution went on
- 29:13Speaker 1: to discuss the collection of Jeffrey Epstein's schoolgirl outfits and
- 29:17Speaker 1: how that is relevant to.
- 29:18Speaker 2: The larger picture.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Of course, Maxwell's lawyers, well, they shot back that the
- 29:22Speaker 1: collection of outfits has nothing to do with Maxwell and
- 29:26Speaker 1: is prejudicial against their client. To that, the prosecution answered
- 29:30Speaker 1: that the schoolgirl costumes, small ones, they made a note
- 29:34Speaker 1: of that, absolutely disgusting animals, were found in the massage room. Therefore,
- 29:40Speaker 1: making them relevant to the case at hand. And you
- 29:43Speaker 1: would think that would be the case, right? If those
- 29:46Speaker 1: schoolgirl outfits were found in the massage room, and we
- 29:50Speaker 1: know that that was the room that Ghislaine was inhabiting,
- 29:52Speaker 1: according to other witnesses, then that is certainly something that
- 29:56Speaker 1: is relevant and something that should be discussed. And Jeffrey
- 30:00Speaker 1: Epstein was known to have this collection of schoolgirl outfits.
- 30:04Speaker 1: We know the stories about how he had one of
- 30:07Speaker 1: these survivors, according to her account, by little cotton, like
- 30:11Speaker 1: little girl underwear. We've heard all of the horror stories
- 30:14Speaker 1: about this guy. So why anyone would think that he
- 30:18Speaker 1: doesn't have a collection of schoolgirl outfits is, you know,
- 30:21Speaker 1: beyond me. He certainly did, according to all of the
- 30:23Speaker 1: accounts that we have heard. Um... The defense, well, they
- 30:28Speaker 1: changed their tactic. And they were like, you know what?
- 30:30Speaker 1: Instead of the relevance of the schoolgirl outfits, now they're
- 30:34Speaker 1: asking that the costumes not be described as schoolgirl outfits.
- 30:38Speaker 2: So you see what they do here, right?
- 30:41Speaker 1: Technicalities, trying to change their strategy mid-argument. And it went
- 30:48Speaker 1: from the fact that, oh, at first they're not relevant,
- 30:51Speaker 1: to now, oh, well, let's just change the names. We
- 30:53Speaker 1: can't call them schoolgirl outfits. That's prejudicial. And this is
- 30:58Speaker 1: the sort of sparring that was going on. And this
- 31:02Speaker 1: is what was going on in the courtroom before the
- 31:04Speaker 1: jury even stepped foot into the courtroom this morning. So
- 31:14Speaker 1: the prosecution says that they will just lay a foundation
- 31:18Speaker 1: and then ask the witness about the costumes in question form. So...
- 31:22Speaker 1: They were wrangling and trying to get procedural stuff out
- 31:26Speaker 1: of the way before Judge Nathan even came into the room.
- 31:32Speaker 1: So right when they start, right when the trial, I mean,
- 31:36Speaker 1: when the hearing commenced, they went right at it. Maxwell's lawyers,
- 31:40Speaker 1: they go in hard right away. They go right after
- 31:43Speaker 1: the fact that he took, meaning Alessi, from $ 6, 300 from Epstein,
- 31:48Speaker 1: and they frame it as such. You took $ 6, 300. So
- 31:52Speaker 1: they're framing it right away. They're leaving no question. They're
- 31:56Speaker 1: setting the question up that they ask him to leave
- 31:59Speaker 1: no doubt. You took the $ 6, 300. And obviously he says, yeah,
- 32:07Speaker 1: he took it because he did take it, right? That's
- 32:10Speaker 1: not even a question. So what they're trying to do
- 32:14Speaker 1: is set it up that he is not to be believed.
- 32:18Speaker 1: If he would take $ 6, 300 from somebody, then why would
- 32:21Speaker 1: he be somebody who is credible? Now, remember, that's what
- 32:24Speaker 1: the defense is trying to do. This is a message
- 32:29Speaker 1: that they continue to try to hammer home. They then
- 32:32Speaker 1: double down on this by asking him if he lied
- 32:34Speaker 1: not only once, but twice. Alessi responds that he didn't lie,
- 32:38Speaker 1: but the defense keeps banging away at it. Didn't you
- 32:42Speaker 1: try to steal a gun? Didn't you try to steal
- 32:44Speaker 1: over $ 5, 000 to pay for immigration papers for your girlfriend?
- 32:48Speaker 1: pretty scuzzy line of questioning, right? Why are you bringing
- 32:52Speaker 1: up someone's immigration status who isn't even involved in the case? Obviously,
- 32:57Speaker 1: they'll try and say that was the cause of Alessi
- 33:00Speaker 1: taking the money, but Alessi responded that it wasn't even
- 33:03Speaker 1: his girlfriend. After this exchange, the defense asks Alessi if
- 33:08Speaker 1: a police officer, Dawson, questioned him. Alessi corrects the defense
- 33:13Speaker 1: and tells the court that he was the one who
- 33:15Speaker 1: went to speak with Officer Dawson. So what he's saying
- 33:19Speaker 1: is nobody had to come find me to speak with me.
- 33:21Speaker 1: I went and talked to Officer Dawson. I was the
- 33:24Speaker 1: one who, of my own accord, went there and spoke
- 33:27Speaker 1: with him and, you know, tried to get it all
- 33:29Speaker 1: figured out. You know, he was attempting to show that
- 33:32Speaker 1: he was doing this on his own and wasn't in
- 33:34Speaker 1: any trouble. Then the questioning turned to the gun and
- 33:42Speaker 1: the defense asked if he told Officer Dawson that he
- 33:45Speaker 1: went to Epstein's to steal a gun and And Alessi
- 33:48Speaker 1: says he can't recall. Now, the defense loves that, right?
- 33:51Speaker 1: When you say you can't recall on the stand, they're
- 33:54Speaker 1: going to try and use that of you misremembering. They're
- 33:56Speaker 1: going to try and say that you have a terrible
- 33:58Speaker 1: memory and all of this stuff you're saying is incorrect.
- 34:03Speaker 1: But the defense, they won't let up on this fact.
- 34:06Speaker 1: And they respond with, you might have said, but you
- 34:09Speaker 1: don't recall. And again, they're trying to frame it. So
- 34:13Speaker 1: the jury sees that his memory is bad or he
- 34:16Speaker 1: doesn't remember correctly. And that is the strategy. It's going
- 34:23Speaker 1: to be the strategy the whole way through. So just
- 34:25Speaker 1: get ready for it. Once again, the full court assault
- 34:31Speaker 1: on his memory and credibility keeps up by again asking
- 34:35Speaker 1: Alessi if he went back to steal money another time.
- 34:39Speaker 1: To this, Alessi responds that he only did it one time.
- 34:42Speaker 1: And he thinks that that's what he told the police.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Once again, he thinks. So the defense really had quite
- 34:52Speaker 1: the sparring session with Alessi.
- 34:55Speaker 2: According to those who were in court. And it was
- 34:58Speaker 2: a little.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Tense at times as well. The defense goes on to
- 35:03Speaker 1: describe how Alessi entered the house via the sliding glass
- 35:06Speaker 1: door and swiped $ 5, 600 from a white envelope in one
- 35:11Speaker 1: of Epstein's briefcases. So, Alessi sneaks in through the sliding glass.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Door, takes $ 5, 600 and hits the skids.
- 35:29Speaker 1: The lawyers continue to chip away at his credibility as
- 35:32Speaker 1: they once again ask him about the money that was
- 35:34Speaker 1: stolen and then add that money that was stolen while
- 35:37Speaker 1: Alessi was.
- 35:38Speaker 2: The owner of.
- 35:38Speaker 1: And then they ask him why that money was stolen
- 35:42Speaker 1: while Alessi was the owner of properties valued at over
- 35:45Speaker 1: $ 1 million. So he had property valued at over $ 1
- 35:50Speaker 1: million allegedly at this time, according to Maxwell's lawyers.
- 35:54Speaker 2: But he still.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Went ahead and stole that money from Epstein. And they're
- 36:01Speaker 1: trying to, once again, frame it as this guy's a thief.
- 36:05Speaker 1: He's a, you know, a no good person who shouldn't
- 36:08Speaker 1: be believed. He responded that he had sold those properties
- 36:12Speaker 1: at the time and he wasn't in possession of them. Now,
- 36:17Speaker 1: at this point, one of Maxwell's lawyers says the name
- 36:22Speaker 1: of one of the anonymous accusers inside of the courtroom
- 36:25Speaker 1: in open court And I honestly, look, I don't have
- 36:29Speaker 1: any evidence of this, but I honestly doubt it was
- 36:31Speaker 1: a mistake. The whole entire defense has been smarmy from
- 36:36Speaker 1: day one and they have decided to go scorched earth.
- 36:40Speaker 1: So why would this be any different? Why would this
- 36:44Speaker 1: be any different? So I really hope that, um, judge
- 36:51Speaker 1: Nathan really, uh, hammers them for this. Um, Judge Nathan
- 36:58Speaker 1: admonishes the defense to abide by her rules. And then
- 37:01Speaker 1: the prosecution demanded a sidebar directly after this incident happened.
- 37:08Speaker 1: The sidebar ends. They get back to the questioning. And
- 37:12Speaker 1: when the lawyer, Pagliuccia, asks about Jane again, he emphasizes
- 37:18Speaker 1: on the name Jane this time. Trying to, you know,
- 37:22Speaker 1: like a smart-ass response to the fact that he called...
- 37:27Speaker 1: Jane by her name in court. So kind of like
- 37:30Speaker 1: a snarky way to say, oh, Jane, is that what
- 37:33Speaker 1: you mean? So there's another quick back and forth between
- 37:38Speaker 1: Alessi and the defense lawyer before they call for a break.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Now that's the early session, the early back and forth, right?
- 37:48Speaker 1: A quick write-up about what was going on with Alessi
- 37:51Speaker 1: on the stand here. And it was pretty contentious. That
- 37:54Speaker 1: whole entire first portion of it No doubt about it.
- 37:57Speaker 1: They went hard in the paint on them. And I
- 37:59Speaker 1: can only imagine being in the courtroom what, you know,
- 38:04Speaker 1: the way that they built their argument here. Definitely no
- 38:11Speaker 1: holds barred. And it's just going to keep going on.
- 38:16Speaker 1: So I hope that the prosecution is prepared for that
- 38:19Speaker 1: and they're prepared to answer in kind. Because this is
- 38:23Speaker 1: obviously a no gloves fight, right? This is a backyard
- 38:28Speaker 1: brawl at this point between the defense and the prosecution.
- 38:32Speaker 1: So I hope the prosecution bites down on their mouthpiece
- 38:36Speaker 1: and comes out swinging. And I think next week's going
- 38:39Speaker 1: to be very crucial for the trial. I think we're
- 38:42Speaker 1: going to get more of an idea of which way
- 38:44Speaker 1: we're going. And we're going to get more of an
- 38:46Speaker 1: idea about, you know, certain aspects of of the prosecution's
- 38:51Speaker 1: case moving forward. So after the lunch break, Alessi is
- 38:56Speaker 1: back on the stand and the questioning turns towards Virginia
- 38:59Speaker 1: Roberts and what Alessi said about her yesterday. They talk
- 39:03Speaker 1: about him driving Maxwell to Mar-a-Lago to pick up Virginia
- 39:06Speaker 1: and what the weather conditions were like. So again, looking
- 39:11Speaker 1: to punch holes in his story. They were going after
- 39:13Speaker 1: the dates, what the weather conditions were like, and really
- 39:17Speaker 1: attempting to, you know, Swiss cheese it up. The defense
- 39:23Speaker 1: was trying to suggest that Maxwell was there getting a
- 39:26Speaker 1: treatment at Mar-a-Lago. She wasn't there for any draconian. purposes.
- 39:30Speaker 1: She wasn't there to recruit any kids. That's why they
- 39:33Speaker 1: were there, they were saying. And Alessi responded to that
- 39:36Speaker 1: by saying he has no idea about her treatments or
- 39:39Speaker 1: what she was there for, you know, if that's the case.
- 39:42Speaker 1: All he could say is what he saw.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Alessi was also.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Pressed about Jeffrey Epstein's private life. And he said that
- 39:51Speaker 1: Epstein didn't share his private life with him. They also
- 39:56Speaker 1: talked about pictures of Maxwell that were on the walls
- 39:59Speaker 1: and how Alessi was instructed to take them down when
- 40:02Speaker 1: other women visited.
- 40:03Speaker 2: It was a.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Whole entire package of crazy there, folks. A whole entire
- 40:08Speaker 1: package of effed up, twisted way of life. And all
- 40:14Speaker 1: of these people that were around, they give me the
- 40:17Speaker 1: skeeves big time. there was a bunch of weird behavior
- 40:22Speaker 1: by Epstein and Maxwell throughout their time together. When asked
- 40:26Speaker 1: why he had taken them down, his answer was, I
- 40:28Speaker 1: have no idea. And they wouldn't share that with him, right?
- 40:32Speaker 1: They're not going to say to the hired help, hey, look,
- 40:33Speaker 1: this is why I want you to take these pictures down.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell weren't the kind of people who want
- 40:39Speaker 1: to have a discussion with the hired help. They give
- 40:42Speaker 1: orders and you better jump to it or they'll find
- 40:44Speaker 1: somebody to do that for them. There was questions asked
- 40:50Speaker 1: by the prosecution, also about foreign people who visited the properties,
- 40:55Speaker 1: including those with accents. And Alessi said that there were
- 40:58Speaker 1: plenty of different accents, including, but not limited to, English, French,
- 41:03Speaker 1: and Italian accents. We all know that Jeffrey Epstein thought
- 41:07Speaker 1: he was this jet setter. We all know that he
- 41:09Speaker 1: had contacts all over the world. This was intercontinental. This
- 41:12Speaker 1: wasn't just in the United States of America. This was
- 41:15Speaker 1: happening all over the world. And all of these people
- 41:18Speaker 1: with all of these accents come into Jeffrey Epstein's house.
- 41:22Speaker 1: How many of them were at levers of power? Well,
- 41:26Speaker 1: I'm guessing most of them. Because Jeffrey Epstein didn't just
- 41:29Speaker 1: hang out with regular people. Him and Ghislaine Maxwell, they
- 41:32Speaker 1: only palled around with people that could advance them and
- 41:35Speaker 1: their agenda. Now the prosecution starts in again on Alessi
- 41:41Speaker 1: about arranging massages for Epstein at the Breakers in Palm Beach.
- 41:46Speaker 1: And then they smack him with this one. They ask
- 41:49Speaker 1: him if him arranging massages for Epstein at the breakers
- 41:53Speaker 1: made him a trafficker also.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Which is garbage.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Those massages are at a real joint, right? He's setting
- 41:58Speaker 1: them up at a real joint to go get a massage.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Having these girls, 14, 15, 16, 17, whatever it is,
- 42:06Speaker 1: come to your house to give you a massage. These
- 42:08Speaker 1: aren't massage therapists. These kids haven't even passed driver's ed
- 42:12Speaker 1: in some cases. These are kids that should be at
- 42:16Speaker 1: cheer practice or whatever the hell it is kids are
- 42:19Speaker 1: doing these days so to try and conflate the two
- 42:23Speaker 1: issues i mean that's just crazy honestly but that's the
- 42:28Speaker 1: way that they're gonna roll and whatever chance that the
- 42:32Speaker 1: defense sees to poke a hole in the armor to
- 42:37Speaker 1: poke a hole in the prosecution's case they're gonna go
- 42:39Speaker 1: full bore and try and do it but this was
- 42:43Speaker 1: This is a pretty shitty way to go about it, right?
- 42:47Speaker 1: Attacking people this way. But it's the nature of the beast.
- 42:54Speaker 1: When he was asked if he thought that the people
- 42:56Speaker 1: sent to perform on the Epstein sessions were of age,
- 42:59Speaker 1: Alessi responded that he believed they were. He better respond
- 43:03Speaker 1: that way, right? Or else he is putting himself in
- 43:06Speaker 1: a position of enabling it and facilitating it. Oh yeah,
- 43:09Speaker 1: I thought they were underage, but I just turned a
- 43:11Speaker 1: blind eye. Meanwhile, we know that's what most of these
- 43:15Speaker 1: people were doing. We've heard about the young Swedish girl
- 43:19Speaker 1: who was crying her eyes out.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we've heard all the stories, Mr. Alessi.
- 43:24Speaker 1: And while some people might not be hip to what
- 43:27Speaker 1: went on with this dude, well, you know, the fact
- 43:30Speaker 1: of the matter is this. I say it all the time.
- 43:33Speaker 1: There really are no good guys in this Epstein-Maxwell saga.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Plenty of dark characters and gray people. The defense went
- 43:44Speaker 1: on to ask about any situation where Alessi heard, saw,
- 43:48Speaker 1: or thought someone was in distress while on the property.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Alessi said no. Pagliuca then asked if anyone complained to him,
- 43:56Speaker 1: and Alessi says no, but he wishes that they had,
- 43:59Speaker 1: because then he would have been able to stop it.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Um, bro, really?
- 44:06Speaker 1: You didn't have any idea what was going on? Got
- 44:10Speaker 1: girls coming to stay the night over at old Jeffy's house?
- 44:13Speaker 1: And just all good? No questions asked? Anything to make
- 44:18Speaker 1: sure that paycheck cashes, right? So that was pretty much
- 44:24Speaker 1: the deal with Alessi. And after this line of questioning,
- 44:29Speaker 1: he stepped down and there was no redirect. So that
- 44:32Speaker 1: concluded the cross-examination of Juan Alessi. And then the next
- 44:37Speaker 1: witness was Gregory Parkinson, a crime scene investigator from Palm
- 44:42Speaker 1: Beach County, who had worked on the Epstein case the
- 44:47Speaker 1: first time around. Now, this is the portion of the
- 44:50Speaker 1: testimony where a lot of the stuff was visual and digitized.
- 44:55Speaker 1: So there's really not too much to go on.
- 44:57Speaker 2: There's a little bit, right? And we're going to get
- 44:59Speaker 2: to it.
- 45:00Speaker 1: But the overall scenario is them talking about the first
- 45:08Speaker 1: raid of Jeffrey Epstein's Palm Beach home during the original prosecution.
- 45:13Speaker 1: back in 2007, 2008. And Jeffrey Epstein, obviously, made the
- 45:20Speaker 1: sweetheart deal, got the hookup, and didn't do any real
- 45:23Speaker 1: jail time. But the actual investigation into Epstein and Palm
- 45:27Speaker 1: Beach was a pretty thorough investigation. And they were absolutely
- 45:33Speaker 1: hamstrung by the state prosecutors, meaning the police department, by
- 45:37Speaker 1: the state prosecutors, and then the feds on top of it.
- 45:41Speaker 1: I'm going to post a few episodes this weekend going
- 45:43Speaker 1: into a little bit more about the situation as far
- 45:47Speaker 1: as how hard the Palm Beach Police Department worked and
- 45:50Speaker 1: how badly they wanted to put Epstein in prison and
- 45:53Speaker 1: how they were just stopped in their tracks pretty much
- 45:56Speaker 1: the whole way. So this gentleman that they're talking to
- 45:59Speaker 1: on the stand now, Gregory Parkinson, is a crime scene
- 46:03Speaker 1: investigator who used to work for the Palm Beach Police Department,
- 46:06Speaker 1: but he's now retired. He worked on the Epstein investigation.
- 46:10Speaker 1: And now, as he's on the stand, the prosecution enters
- 46:13Speaker 1: all kinds of evidence into the record. But obviously, the
- 46:17Speaker 1: press and the public were not privy to it.
- 46:19Speaker 2: It's under seal.
- 46:20Speaker 1: At one point, Maureen Comey asked, what do we see
- 46:23Speaker 1: here during the search? And Officer Parkinson responded, Epstein and
- 46:28Speaker 1: the Pope, meaning a picture of Epstein and the Pope.
- 46:32Speaker 1: There was also a picture of Epstein and Fidel Castro
- 46:35Speaker 1: and a litany of other people. I'm not going to
- 46:39Speaker 1: get into it here. But throughout the years, we have
- 46:42Speaker 1: talked about so many different pictures that were found at
- 46:45Speaker 1: Epstein's house that were predominantly and prominently displayed. The prosecution
- 46:54Speaker 1: continues to instruct the jurors on what sealed items to
- 46:56Speaker 1: look at one after the other. Comey then asked that
- 47:00Speaker 1: Exhibit 234 be admitted under seal of course. And then
- 47:05Speaker 1: some exhibits are for the public. Exhibit 228, for example,
- 47:08Speaker 1: is one of those... And Comey asked Officer Parkinson what
- 47:14Speaker 1: 228 contains. And he responded that it's the garden room.
- 47:19Speaker 1: More sealed documents introduced and instructions to the jurors before
- 47:23Speaker 1: Nathan announces another break. So this is what I was
- 47:27Speaker 1: talking about earlier. We get to the point where there's
- 47:30Speaker 1: not much for us to consume as the public for
- 47:34Speaker 1: the afternoon session here. So they get back from the break.
- 47:38Speaker 1: And the jurors continue to go over the evidence, a
- 47:41Speaker 1: lot of it sealed, that pertains to Epstein's residences. Some
- 47:45Speaker 1: of the public photos include one of the bathroom that
- 47:48Speaker 1: has a pink couch and a phone and a portable
- 47:51Speaker 1: inflatable massage table. Now, this is interesting. The prosecution moves
- 47:58Speaker 1: to introduce Exhibit 51 to evidence, which is a green
- 48:02Speaker 1: massage table, not an inflatable one. And this is one
- 48:06Speaker 1: of the massage tables allegedly That, you know, was used.
- 48:10Speaker 1: So it's a very interesting admission to the evidence. So
- 48:15Speaker 1: that was Exhibit 51. That wasn't sealed. So we were
- 48:18Speaker 1: able to get a look at that, at least. Now,
- 48:24Speaker 1: the witness goes in for cross-examination. And Christian Everdell takes over.
- 48:29Speaker 1: And he goes right after the alleged Alessi theft from
- 48:33Speaker 1: Epstein by asking Parkinson.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Asking Parkinson if he responded to a burglary there. Parkinson
- 48:42Speaker 1: affirms that that is the case. So what that does
- 48:45Speaker 1: is it confirms that Alessi wanted to steal from Epstein,
- 48:50Speaker 1: broke into the house, stole the money. It confirms all
- 48:52Speaker 1: of that by the police officer who was attending the scene,
- 48:57Speaker 1: attending the complaint. So again, trying to punch holes in
- 49:02Speaker 1: the credibility. Everdell goes on to say that Epstein reported
- 49:07Speaker 1: that several thousand dollars had been stolen, right? Parkinson responds
- 49:11Speaker 1: that that is true as well. Most of this portion
- 49:14Speaker 1: of the testimony, like I said, is visual, so there's
- 49:17Speaker 1: not much to offer here. After some more time, of
- 49:20Speaker 1: this witness, he's excused. And the next witness, Michael Dawson,
- 49:24Speaker 1: one of the detectives who searched Epstein's residence, hits the stand. Now,
- 49:30Speaker 1: this wasn't very long, but we got some decent information
- 49:34Speaker 1: out of here for sure. He testified that they were
- 49:37Speaker 1: searching for sex toys, massage tables... messages sent or received,
- 49:41Speaker 1: and any other material that might be related to the warrant.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Maureen Comey asked, what were you looking for during the search?
- 49:49Speaker 1: Dawson responds to this, massage tables and oils, sex toys.
- 49:53Speaker 1: There are a lot of photos of nude females. We
- 49:55Speaker 1: seized a phone book, a massage table, photo of a
- 49:58Speaker 1: nude female, a sex toy called the torpedo. So that's
- 50:03Speaker 1: where they pretty much stopped at for the day, right?
- 50:07Speaker 1: There's The time was running out. There's 13 minutes left
- 50:10Speaker 1: or so in the trial. And instead of hammering it home,
- 50:13Speaker 1: they're going to wait till Monday to finish this testimony.
- 50:16Speaker 1: But during the first search of Epstein's house, they found
- 50:19Speaker 1: a whole bunch of wacky, weird shit. A whole bunch
- 50:23Speaker 1: of wacky stuff. I mean, there's a picture of Bill
- 50:26Speaker 1: Clinton on the wall in a blue dress and some
- 50:29Speaker 1: red pumps. Pictures of all kinds of naked people all over. Obviously,
- 50:34Speaker 1: pictures of underage kids, underage girls, according to and people
- 50:38Speaker 1: who had been there. So they found a whole bunch
- 50:40Speaker 1: of wild stuff during that first raid of Jeffrey Epstein's
- 50:45Speaker 1: house when he was getting arrested the first time around.
- 50:48Speaker 1: And they had so much that they were prepared to really,
- 50:53Speaker 1: really hammer this dude. And once his all-star lawyer team
- 50:57Speaker 1: got involved, Gerald Lefkowitz, Alan Dershowitz, you know, the whole crew,
- 51:04Speaker 1: things changed real quick. So it's a very fascinating story
- 51:10Speaker 1: of disgustingness and horribleness and terrible dereliction of duty by
- 51:15Speaker 1: the authorities. And if you're not familiar with how it
- 51:19Speaker 1: all went down during the original arrest, I'm going to
- 51:22Speaker 1: post some episodes over the weekend starting tonight that'll give
- 51:27Speaker 1: you more of an idea of the absolute travesty that
- 51:30Speaker 1: happened down in Palm Beach. So with that, folks, we're
- 51:34Speaker 1: going to wrap it up for the weekend. And, you know,
- 51:37Speaker 1: we'll be back this weekend, Saturday and Sunday. I'll have
- 51:40Speaker 1: these context episodes rocking and rolling. But Monday morning, we'll
- 51:44Speaker 1: hit the ground running. And one week closer to me
- 51:47Speaker 1: getting to New York. Right after the holidays, I'm on
- 51:50Speaker 1: a plane and I'll be in New York for probably
- 51:53Speaker 1: the last, oh, I don't know, 10 days of this
- 51:55Speaker 1: trial or so. And we'll be able to get a
- 51:58Speaker 1: little more from inside the courtroom, hopefully. And I'll be
- 52:02Speaker 1: able to provide a more... comprehensive look at what's going
- 52:06Speaker 1: on once I'm on the ground but until then we'll
- 52:10Speaker 1: be here every single day same time same format and
- 52:16Speaker 1: keeping the flags of discontent waving folks to all of
- 52:19Speaker 1: you who have joined the podcast recently I appreciate you
- 52:23Speaker 1: all riding with me and I hope that as we
- 52:27Speaker 1: move forward those of you who might not have known
- 52:30Speaker 1: about this case I hope that you see it for
- 52:32Speaker 1: what it really is And I hope it pisses you
- 52:35Speaker 1: off because it should. All right, everybody, please enjoy your weekend.
- 52:40Speaker 1: If you're going out tonight, partying or whatever, please do
