The Sodder Children: Vanished on Christmas Eve, 1945
On Christmas Eve 1945 in Fayetteville, West Virginia, five children from the Sodder family disappeared after a house fire. No bodies were conclusively recovered, and the strange circumstances—an odd phone call, conflicting witness accounts, a missing ladder, and disputed photographs—left the case unresolved.
In this episode we summarize the known facts, examine theories (accident, arson, kidnapping, or cover-up), and explore why the Sauter disappearance remains a haunting unsolved mystery.
