- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: What is app-men sports card CEO community?
- 0:04[SPEAKER_02]: It is Big Matt and Little Matt.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_02]: And we are coming to you live from the show floor at the National Sports Card Convention in Chicago, Illinois.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_03]: a 4070 season and a season of life in the other and naturely baseball history from Ronald the Cognitive Junior.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_04]: There's a drive right on the Battle of Evan Connor and what a fun season he is having.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_03]: He hits the strong hard.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_04]: He hits the higher the left.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_04]: Mike Trump has ripped them all wrong.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: What's up, guys?
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: My truck, and this is the sports car C-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: Disney World for Card Collector.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: So Matthew, your mobile moving around the show floor.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: So for those who watch in this on video, you might want to listen to the audio until he gets to cool tables, because his purpose in walking around the show floor is to kind of let you guys a little bit of an insight into what you see at the National Sports Card Convention, because I'll be honest, being a sports card collector investor now for the last four years.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: You don't really realize what is going on.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness, who is this?
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm sorry, I've interrupted our stream.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: Who is this in pop?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: Ladies and gentlemen, it is none other than the artist formerly known as the Bowman Farmer.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: It is Bubba.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: What is at them both?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_05]: What's up, dudes?
- 1:56[SPEAKER_05]: You'll got me excited.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_05]: Y'all are up there at the National.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_05]: We got some foam over here.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_05]: Walkers in the background here.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_05]: We got some foam over here.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: Did you got the Wilson fam in the house?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: What a special surprise here for this episode of the sports car CEO.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: Baba, I think our listeners were kind of like, I've been worried about you.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: I've actually ran into somebody that would end to go, are you Bubba?
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: And I go, I'm not so lucky.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm Bubba.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_05]: You can see I'm pretty brown right now, man.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_05]: So I've been at a lot of beaches.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: You have been tanning it up.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: Well, so Bob, you know, you've got little mat and big mat kind of as your eyes and ears on the show for this year, we have some, we have some specific initiatives that we're trying to accomplish, but we were just talking about the fact that at the national you normally see stuff, you see stuff that you don't normally see.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: And so a guy like yourself, Baba has been in many different forms of the hobby you've prospected, you've been invented.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: you've been in the modern football flips, what's your take on the market right now from afar?
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: And let people in on our conversations and what's been going on over the past few weeks and with them preparing.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, man, I mean, obviously I'm a Bowman guy at my heart, right?
- 3:01[SPEAKER_05]: But my mind is telling me that it's the time to get into the goats and the really good stuff.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_05]: The Bowman game has gotten so funky the last couple months, so I've got to take it back to eat to that.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_05]: You know, y'all really open my eyes to really where the market is headed.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_05]: So I think when you go to a national, you're going to see targing ever see.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_05]: So from that standpoint, I think, you know, looking at the goats, looking at your LeBron's, your Brady's, your Jordan's, those guys.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_05]: That's obviously what we've gravitated to.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_05]: I still love baseball.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_05]: I still love, you know, prospects.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_05]: I think that have what it takes, guys, like Zahir Hope, who I think is extremely
- 3:41[SPEAKER_05]: But I mean, to be able to show like yellow hat, what a cool opportunity.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_05]: And you're going to see stuff like this, you know, we're going to, we're going to have the cane kepli card up there, now flashing that around a little bit.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, you're going to get that going on.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_05]: A little show.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, ultra violet here.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_05]: A little string of savage red action.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_05]: Look, you know, and maybe stuff like this.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe like a Jordan Walker PSA 10.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_05]: Red, you know, so I mean, you know, when you get to show like that, I mean, you're going to see all kinds of cool stuff, but I do think the market for the new stuff specifically the 26 stuff has just gotten overcooked, but I do think there's going to be some value on some of these guys that are getting forgotten in the boat in the world if you're coming up this fall.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's nasty.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: Dad, can I show a few case?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah, you should be able to flip your camera.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: So tell us what we're looking at Matthew.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just some break, great, Kobe Bryant.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, literally almost a million in this showcase alone.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, some great stuff.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: And these case and long ago.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: This is just the stuff you see at the national, that you don't see anywhere else.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: We, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we
- 4:42[SPEAKER_02]: We did a trade night last night and the lobby of the hotel was boom and people super excited.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: One of the things, Bubba, that we were actually talking about just before we went live, is if a dealer literally priced his case a week or 10 days ago, you could already have new thoughts that blow those 10 day prices out of the water on some of this rare stuff.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_02]: And that's kind of the things that we're looking at, you know, we were able to right before the national pick up a Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, what was the East West Refractor is what it's called and a little mat on the show months ago said that's the most undervalued card.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen that card go up almost 50% since that episode aired.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're here.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm here at the TC Sports cards booth to look at all the of Zach's great supers and all Zach Poland's great stuff.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: is our buddy is our buddy Zach Poland there is he at the booth Zach Poland is not at the booth and I'm sure if he saw my phone with Bubba on he probably like rippin now he's a sandwich right now oh Poland we did run into the one and only Nick Tucker in the grading line at PSA but we dropped off like six cards for same day grading so we're gonna see how that goes part of our strategy coming into the show was having some cards because PSA right now you know the turnaround time is so long
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: So if you have to pay a little bit of a premium to get the card back the same day, I think we dropped off six cards at the PSA here.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: Baba, I told him that how much you love them and that they were going to be extra nice to us.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_05]: Well, dude, I thought I'd never say these words, but I never thought these words come out of my mouth, but the gap in how much value difference there is now between a BGS 9 and a PSA 9.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_05]: has made me more of a PSA guide just because everybody's undervalued back at so much.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_05]: So no matter how you look at it, I mean, if PSA wasn't king already, I mean, now the values going higher on nines, especially in the stuff we're talking about, the goat stuff, I mean, what a, what a value to be able to go by a BGS lab and have a chance to be able to crack and put it a PSA slab and be up.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_05]: 30, 40% instantly, and I've seen, you know, in the Bowman games kind of the same thing, nobody's just grading with buck with back at anything.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, you know what's interesting.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: Good math to go ahead.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was just going to say how it's different because the grading standards are different.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: We cracked an SQC eight to half tiger woods auto.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think it'll get a PS7.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: The grading standards are so different.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, it's just super tough when you have different grading standards.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one of the things that's really interesting when we talk about, like, rare cards, low pop cards, and this will relate to our bone and community as well.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: When you're dealing with oranges and reds, there's only so many of those cards.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_02]: The same holds true of some of these goat cards, especially the 90s inserts and the low population numbered stuff.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: And so great at some point time becomes irrelevant to the card.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: And so right now, when you can find value and BTS slabs, and you have a little bit of staying power, it really is about the card.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: The perfect example for this that Matthew and I keep talking about is a Michael Jordan intimidation nation.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: It is what's the population on the intimidation nation, Matthew?
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: total grade at 220.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: There are 220 copies of this grade currently with all companies.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_02]: And so at some point in time, if you only had 200 something cards of a micro-drody card made, it's really about the card.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the grade certainly helps, but that card has almost tripled in value since we started looking at it about a year ago.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: And so there's something to be said for the rarity of an asset.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: So the grading game is a game to play to your point above a, when you can find stuff at value and you find the card, it's more about finding the card.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: There's cards that we've sold that I've never seen again, you know?
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: And so if I see him here, it's like, I'm going to make a run at.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and I'll just kind of chip in on this boom and again.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I have, I have obviously not been buying much, boom and as of late, unless it's just kind of a card, I think is one I want to stash away for a while.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_05]: But I saw a card, for example, like a player, like, braven pain last night, if you'll solve that.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_05]: Braven pain, red sapphire, went for 700 bucks.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_05]: Wow.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_05]: Braille and pains a really good player anytime you can get a red sapphire 700 bucks.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_05]: So I do think there's going to be opportunity in Bowman again if people have kind of looking elsewhere a little things like that I think is where people need to be looking at Bowman right now don't I would be very scared to hold any Bowman this new stuff for longer than a couple weeks because the the 2026 prices are just stupid.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, speaking of stupid prices the dealers prices have a national.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: there are some embarrassing prices here to say the least.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how you get asking $80,000 on a 52-manel PSA1, but
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, if you want to ask a hot like really double what it's worth.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: So you can go ahead and do that.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_05]: Well, when, when does the show actually open?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_05]: Want to clock today?
- 9:33[SPEAKER_05]: I want to want to clock for VIP.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_05]: So you guys right now are already kind of walking the floor like what?
- 9:38[SPEAKER_05]: What's the difference in initial take from last year the year before?
- 9:41[SPEAKER_05]: Have you seen any changes in the layout or is it?
- 9:44[SPEAKER_05]: Is there anything that stands out to y'all right now that feels any different?
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so this year they actually added an upstairs.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: So they have a whole upstairs show four that I would say is this big as like a Charlotte, I don't know if it's it's his bow as big as like a Charlotte or Atlanta card show it's it's basically.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: Basically it's own regional car show and it's a separate upstairs area that is touted as an international pavilion.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: So they're trying to get some folks from outside, you know, the U.S. in there and so it's a really unique thing and I don't know if you can see this behind me but you see the what not signed.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: So there's an entire what not.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: This I'll tell you about fanatics fest and about the national, the live breaking.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: community and the presence of the live breaking community at these shows is, I mean, unbelievable.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: Some of the biggest booths set up at the Natic's Fest were the private breaking companies.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: And then you've got whatnot with this kind of presence at the national.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I mean, from a marketing standpoint, they have gone after it.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: hard to be kind of the premier breaking channel, you know, here at the national.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: They've got live breaking up, you know, kind of venue set up where people are breaking.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm right here in the middle at the very entrance to it.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's funny when you walk in the front door of the national, guess who the first sign and both you see is, PSA.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: So, so
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: strategically, you know, these corporate entities that are engaged in the hobby, they know exactly what they're doing, and they are positioning themselves right alongside the biggest hitters in the hobby.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: And so again, as I've said on the show, many, many times before, this is not a hobby where you got fathers and sons just flipping cards.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: This is a multi, multi-million dollar business.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: And when you have this corporate money flowing in, you have to understand that like the game and the stakes are much, much higher.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: And that is
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, some of the dealers are paying $1500 to set up and I don't think they have $1500 worth of cards in their case.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, like, yeah.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: In a vintage section, there are people with legit just like $75 cards and they're just sitting there.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then on the other side of the show floor, there's literally $10 million.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's such a, there's such a dynamic here because you have some folks that have been involved in the hobby and the national for, you know, 30 years out of long had been doing it.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: And you can tell that they're kind of grandfathered in and this is what they love to do.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's their their thing that got their value boxes and their vintage and so forth.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: But then the hobby has transformed over the past few years and so the segmented areas of the show floor where you have these massive cases with these big high end numbers or whatever.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: And here's the thing, there are some dealers who have kind of grandfathered status.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: And from what we've been hearing, they're actually selling their table space on the secondary market.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: for 10 extra turns.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: Now, to your story, at the national this year, a five day VIP pass was selling for $200 for walking the door and they sold out and those same passes were selling for $1,000 on the secondary market.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: So when you've got the hobby at the height that it is right now, even the passes to get into the show are doing five extra retail value.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: So it goes to show you that the demand for these cards and the access to this kind of show floor is literally at an all-time high.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's nuts.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to do a lot.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, oh, yeah, there's there's still the card kids trades own, but I know that they changed it because there was some stuff that went on last year with like Like bigger kids scamming little kids and stuff like that so that made it they made it like 15 under I think it's a it's different it's I I've been here for an hour and I haven't even done half the show floor
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: and this is how big the shuffle is this year.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's nuts.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Baba, I am so glad that you were able to join us here on the pod for a minute from this live episode from the show floor.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: I tell all the Wilson boys we said hello.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: I know we'll be in touch with you to get you inside man.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's good to see your face.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: All right, buddy, we'll have a piece by it's it.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so a little man.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: That was super special to have Baba jump on for a minute.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see his face.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: And we've talked, but I haven't seen him here over the last few weeks.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's been
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: Curn to our listeners and followers Curn was going to jump on, but he's kind of in transit.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: He couldn't get to the phone until about noon, but once the door's open at noon, it's just going to be bonkers.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, for those that can see around me, like, I have a pretty open space right here where I'm standing.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: This will not be open space in an hour.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be absolutely crazy.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: So Matthew, you're walking around or whatnot.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, I'm sure it's probably hard for our listeners to kind of follow around with your video.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: But from from your perspective, what do you see in what do you feel and kind of where are you right now with with your assessment of the floor I mean I'm seeing a lot of goat cards like a lot of Jordan Brady Kobe that's what's selling something a lot of that see in a lot of an inch I haven't seen I've maybe seen one Bowman case and the entire show floor of Um, I have seen much Bowman but That's because Gary has it and
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: Did you see him just drip out some reds like as he's just like chillin You know he had those he's like yeah, I have some reds But yeah
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy man.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, Lil Matt's just walking and just right bombing here.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: All right, gang, well, you know, I want to say this to our listeners too.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know, for those of you that are here, certainly we love connecting in person, for about it stops us to say hello.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: How much they enjoy the pod?
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we have had so many, it's been that expensive here at the National.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: So many people stop by and just say, hey, man, I love the pod.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: I really enjoy listening to you guys.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate the heck out of it.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, we've always just tried to been very real and very transparent.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: little Matt, we got to talk about a couple of things though, you know, on the last episode, we did, we talked a little bit about the social media side of what we do.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, sometimes you get a little shade here and there, sometimes you get some people throwing some, you know, punches online, some criticism or whatever.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: How have you felt over the past week after you've gotten some online kind of negativity or whatnot?
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: How are you feeling?
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's hard.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you feel a lot of people tell you just like, no, right.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: There's just people, but like it's hard to ignore it when there's a hundred comments on a post about, you know, about you.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: And, but you know, I'm doing my best to, you know, just keep doing what I'm doing.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I didn't do anything wrong.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just going to have a good time at the national.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully have a good weekend here.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll actually have a videographer with us.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully we're going to produce some content for our Hamhouse Sports page.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to blow people away.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it should be, it should be a lot of fun.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: The other thing we want to talk about in Matthew is the Showhailotani dual autographs that's in the top's chrome product that just released.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: We actually open the box of the top's chrome.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: I will say this, I think the top's chrome product is really good.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think the cards look sharp.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's got a lot of different color parallels and inserts and all this kinds of things.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: But what do you think about the bounties that are coming out on this Showhail dual auto?
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think one yesterday hit what 13 million.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's kind of nuts, honestly.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: $13 million.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the judge in Otoni is under price now that went for $2.6 million.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: But having to hit two Otoni logo man's and the congi auto, that's a super big deal.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: And just really, really, really big cards.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that card's definitely gonna break records.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: yeah for sure i mean again it shows you the demand and the eyes on the hobby right now you know one of the things we talked about consistently on the pot here lately is a lot of money in the market is flowing into the goats it's flooding into you know the showhaze the Brady's the Jordan's the Kobe's et cetera that the roost the manthals even and what you what you start to see is is if you have enough collectors in the room with enough capital
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: You start to put cards away and there is this idea that you might not see certain cards surface.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think that is very true when you get into some of the 90s P and G stuff and the really high end.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's starting to become more and more true because there's so many collectors that have made so much money in the business.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I think a lot of the average listeners and the average like sports card hobby is still understand.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: There's been so much money made from 2020 until now.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like folks are dipping into their a personal bank account in the back cards.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: While that is a reality, a lot of these folks have made the money by buying and selling cards, and so they're actually using capital to buy stuff they would have never been able to buy otherwise.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: So it's a really kind of unique moment where you're seeing a lot of money that was made in the hobby being invested back into the hobby and some of the
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: It is to get some of these cards for sure.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough because it's kind of the same thing with Bowman, you know, there's only five reds out there.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so there's a limited amount of them.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes you'd have to pay to pay to pay the price for it.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 100%.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, maybe is there anything, is there anything, falls for a second while you're walking the show floor here?
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: Let's pause and kind of wrap the episode up.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: Is there anything that you feel like, you know, we could share with the listeners from the show floor a unique perspective as we are live at the national this week?
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you are going a national, and you see a car, the really want for your PC, it's not like a show where you can go, oh, I'll be back in a little bit.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: The car is going to sell.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: So if you see a car you want, I'd say to buy it.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think that it's super overwhelming once you once everyone starts coming in, but if you can just, you know, stay your course and kind of get, get what you want to get.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think you'll be fine.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: Big man, I'm going to ask you what's the one card you're looking to buy this weekend?
- 19:15[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, man, I would absolutely love to walk away with a 1933 Gowdy Ruth Red.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I got that card.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: We've got the star Jordan.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: We've got the Flair Jordan.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: I love the 41 play ball Ted Williams, the 48 leave Ted Williams, the 52 Jackie, the red back cards.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why I just love that.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: But hey, quick shout out while we're on the stream here.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if the listeners can see my shirt.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: I am wearing a 1982 top straighted carrot through shirt.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: Little Matt is wearing the 1952
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: Mickey Manel emits these are t-shirts that we got from a company called homage.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: We were in a photograph with Jason Sedakis at Fanatic's Fest and they hit us up and gave us some free swag and so we wanted to say thank you to them for that.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, man, I love, I love the vintage cards, honestly.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: And if I see it, it was like last night, Matthew, we were at Trade Knight.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: We had all of our cards out on the table, right?
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: And you said to me, you said, quick, flash your eyes at the table, which card pops to you.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: And what was my answer?
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: the 1953 mantle with that image of him, you know, looking at the, it's like stuff like that just absolutely pops and it can't be replicated.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think that that's super, super team to kind of think about long-term value holds.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: But nevertheless, I mean, we had a top-
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: from gold show hay last night, opportunity pop up, bought it.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: And there's money to be made.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: And there's opportunities to be had in the modern market.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: I just have more reluctance to hold those cards long term because of the volatility of the market.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: But the national is the place to be where everybody in the hobby is kind of connecting.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: So through our listeners and viewers, if you've not come before,
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: Please do, if you're here, let us know what you love about the national for us.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's really about the experience and connecting with so many different people and being able to have access to so many different people in the industry and so many different cards.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: So, little Matt, thanks for walking around on the show floor and kind of given us a first hand look at it.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: I am going to go take my first look here as we hang up
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: the call and hang up the episode.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: But that being said, friends, thank you so much for tuning in to the sports card CEO live from the National Co. floor, 2026 Chicago.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back next week in kind of a synopsis in a breakdown, but appreciate you guys watching.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: Peace.
