- 0:07Speaker 1: This mediated podcast. Welcome to me Eatter Trivia, the only
- 0:12Speaker 1: game show where conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer
- 0:16Speaker 1: new Art, and today we're joined by Stephen Ronnella, Sean Weaver,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Cribn Schneider, and a whole bunch of special guests from
- 0:22Speaker 1: the New York Mets. Fellas. Please go around the room
- 0:25Speaker 1: and introduce yourselves. Tommy Hunter picture with the Mets, Steve
- 0:31Speaker 1: Enegstick picture Mets, Chris Bassett picture of the Mets, Pete Alonso,
- 0:37Speaker 1: first baseman for the Mets, Steve Rinella, I uh I
- 0:44Speaker 1: played tea ball dropped out Tyler Nakelin outfolder for the Mets.
- 0:49Speaker 1: David Peterson picture for the Mets. Give us a better
- 0:52Speaker 1: intro than that. Now we're gonna go around the room again.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Tell us some of your bona fides when it comes
- 0:56Speaker 1: to the outdoors. What you like to do hunting, fish
- 0:58Speaker 1: and things like that. Uh, Tommy Hunter again, Um uh
- 1:03Speaker 1: I just I just like to get outside. Um weather fishing,
- 1:06Speaker 1: um going off shore? Uh, tass fishing, tarpens. The tarpens
- 1:12Speaker 1: are we gotta. I grew up in Indiana, Indianapolis, Um,
- 1:16Speaker 1: but my my parents live in Port Charlotte, Um, so
- 1:22Speaker 1: we go down there, Um get off shore. I love
- 1:25Speaker 1: doing that. But I also I live in Ohio now
- 1:28Speaker 1: and I've got a few acres in my backyard. Um,
- 1:30Speaker 1: I've got a few few deer that running back. So
- 1:32Speaker 1: we do that. And then being in baseball, it's pretty much,
- 1:36Speaker 1: you know, exposed me to the hunting world with all
- 1:39Speaker 1: these guys and just getting out in the off season
- 1:41Speaker 1: and you know, visiting with guys and going and killing ship. Now,
- 1:45Speaker 1: that was a good introduction. Everyone needs to match that
- 1:47Speaker 1: now going forward, all right, Stephen Gostick, I grew up
- 1:52Speaker 1: Waterfell hunting northern California, moved to Oregon and started my
- 1:58Speaker 1: big game journey and been getting my ass kicks ever since.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Pete was predicting that you might win trivia. There's a
- 2:07Speaker 1: chance where where in northern California, just north of Sacramento.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So I grew up in Rosville and then we did
- 2:15Speaker 1: all of our hunting and Coloosa winners. Got you up
- 2:20Speaker 1: by Klamath at all. No, I actually lived in Klamath.
- 2:22Speaker 1: That's where I went when I moved to Oregon. That's
- 2:25Speaker 1: where I killed my first buck. It took me three years,
- 2:28Speaker 1: but got him with a bow. And Elk. I've been
- 2:32Speaker 1: getting my absolute ass kids. I can't. I haven't even
- 2:35Speaker 1: been close. But that's a sneaky duck hunting area though, too. Man.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I mean, I would rate Klamath one of the best
- 2:41Speaker 1: places when when we get water. But I also love
- 2:45Speaker 1: just like natural flood rivers. I'm not a big like
- 2:50Speaker 1: sitting blind in a rice field. I grew up doing it,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but now it's like I can't do it anymore when
- 2:55Speaker 1: I get older. I'm definitely having a Tommy Hunter blind.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Well what do you like doing? How do you what
- 3:00Speaker 1: are you like doing? Instead? I like, so me and
- 3:04Speaker 1: my pop's got a duck boat and we started doing
- 3:07Speaker 1: that and that's a lot of fun to getting out
- 3:08Speaker 1: on the river. And yeah, it's much more like go
- 3:10Speaker 1: out the day before, find where the ducks are at,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and then put your boat close. And so I built
- 3:15Speaker 1: like handmade lawn lines. So speaking my language now, yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 1: just I put parrocord tight slivels on there, hooking to
- 3:23Speaker 1: the decoys and then waits on each side. And what's
- 3:26Speaker 1: the Tommy hunter blind? He's gonna have to explain that call,
- 3:31Speaker 1: explain that white collar. It's ah, what you explained to
- 3:37Speaker 1: as a Rich Carlton talking propane heater. Yeah, we got
- 3:42Speaker 1: we're not getting cold. Where what you want, There's gonna
- 3:47Speaker 1: be a cooler, there's gonna be ice. I mean, we're
- 3:49Speaker 1: gonna have it. We're gonna yeah, I'm not. I mean
- 3:54Speaker 1: it's yeah, it's we're not doing Yeah. This body doesn't
- 3:57Speaker 1: walk too far, so yeah. But when I get older,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'll have that. But right now it's I want to
- 4:05Speaker 1: go out and find it nice. So Chris Bassett Um
- 4:10Speaker 1: mostly white tail hunting. Um got into waterfowl last last
- 4:15Speaker 1: year and fell in love with it. I love it.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Um been out west elk hunt and mule your hunting,
- 4:21Speaker 1: but uh, mostly mostly I just chased around white tail
- 4:25Speaker 1: very very a little bit just because we have a season.
- 4:27Speaker 1: But for the most part, white tail, where'd you go
- 4:30Speaker 1: duck hunting North Carolina? Last year? Was was horrible. There
- 4:34Speaker 1: were just weren't ducks at all there. Um. That was
- 4:37Speaker 1: kind of everywhere we went, Like, um, where I live
- 4:39Speaker 1: now is like forty five minutes in like Hyde County,
- 4:42Speaker 1: Uh in North Carolina, so big time blackbird hunting there. Um.
- 4:46Speaker 1: But yeah, for the most part, I said, just white tail, Steve,
- 4:50Speaker 1: I just want to let you know that uh, strange
- 4:52Speaker 1: creature on the on the trail cam I asked you
- 4:55Speaker 1: about that? Was that was his proper? Yeah, so that
- 4:59Speaker 1: he had on some sort of strange mythical creature on
- 5:02Speaker 1: his trail. Pete wanted me to sell my hunting spot
- 5:05Speaker 1: just because I has I tore him on there. He said,
- 5:11Speaker 1: you gotta sell that thing right now, but I didn't.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I'm going with it. I'm Pete Alonso. Uh. I grew
- 5:17Speaker 1: up Tampa Florida. I grew up doing the whole snoke,
- 5:20Speaker 1: redfish and and trout inshore fishing. UM super easy. It's
- 5:25Speaker 1: a great fishery, super easy to get off shore. UM.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Still have not landed a tarpin yet. I know that's
- 5:32Speaker 1: that's weird because tarpan season is always uh in baseball season.
- 5:35Speaker 1: But I've done my fair shriff hooked into him. But
- 5:39Speaker 1: UM sucks not landing one. And also when I was younger,
- 5:42Speaker 1: I used to go white tail hunting a lot with
- 5:43Speaker 1: my grandpa and UM. Because of baseball and uh and
- 5:48Speaker 1: not the season just being super long and uh time consuming,
- 5:52Speaker 1: I haven't really had enough time to really go out
- 5:55Speaker 1: and explore like the big game hunting. I didn't really
- 5:57Speaker 1: get a chance to do it until uh two thousand
- 6:00Speaker 1: nineteen when Steve and I uh went in Colorado. He's
- 6:05Speaker 1: nice enough to take me out, and um, I mean
- 6:07Speaker 1: I've I went back the year after UM in Colorado,
- 6:11Speaker 1: got a really nice elk and it's just been something
- 6:14Speaker 1: that I'm itching to do, U continuing to do and
- 6:17Speaker 1: just broadening my experience outdoors and then hopefully this offseason
- 6:22Speaker 1: get to do some spear fishing, some free diving, and
- 6:25Speaker 1: um go off shore, Pete when you win your next
- 6:28Speaker 1: home run derby, are you gonna make another request to
- 6:31Speaker 1: go hunting with Steve? I mean I could probably just
- 6:34Speaker 1: call him, now what you what if I was you,
- 6:37Speaker 1: I would make a request to go spear fishing with
- 6:40Speaker 1: Cameron kirk Connell. All right, then that's it. That might
- 6:43Speaker 1: be smart because he's down in your neck of the woods.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Where's he at, Well, he's he's fishes out of Florida. Okay,
- 6:49Speaker 1: you know it would be easy. What part of what
- 6:51Speaker 1: part of Florida? Where do we meet up when we're
- 6:53Speaker 1: down Yeah? Okay, so I'm just saying that for like,
- 6:57Speaker 1: for expertise in local convenience, that'd be the that'd be
- 7:01Speaker 1: the call out to make I'm yeah, absolutely, I'm I'm
- 7:04Speaker 1: down right there down somewhere. Do you guys ever hope
- 7:06Speaker 1: that you don't make it into the UM playoffs and
- 7:09Speaker 1: ships so you can hunt more? Fuck? No, no play
- 7:17Speaker 1: to win baby. A lot of people will say, like,
- 7:22Speaker 1: we better win this whole damn thing, or we better
- 7:24Speaker 1: lose really fast. I want to get home, or I
- 7:30Speaker 1: want to win the whole damn thing. Like if you're
- 7:32Speaker 1: taking second, that sucks. Yeah, I guess wait wasting all
- 7:34Speaker 1: your time? Man, you could have been off, you could
- 7:36Speaker 1: have been doing something different. Um, Tyler nick One, I'm
- 7:39Speaker 1: from Texas and as far as I mean, I could remember,
- 7:43Speaker 1: I've been been whitetail hunting many many years with my
- 7:47Speaker 1: family just growing up. UM, and waterfowl hunting as well. Um.
- 7:50Speaker 1: We actually, my dad and brother flew up here um
- 7:55Speaker 1: Wednesday night, and we flew in early yesterday and we
- 7:59Speaker 1: went to Prodigy down here in Jasper, Georgia. It's a
- 8:03Speaker 1: duck hunting um. They make all those custom boats out there,
- 8:06Speaker 1: and so we went over a couple of duck hunting
- 8:09Speaker 1: builds and stuff like that for the off day yesterday.
- 8:11Speaker 1: And uh, I don't know I'm just extremely My My
- 8:15Speaker 1: first thing would problem just extremely addicted to bow hunting,
- 8:18Speaker 1: like white tail and getting up in the tree and
- 8:21Speaker 1: and you know, just learning how to track these animals
- 8:26Speaker 1: and learning how they work and see where they bed
- 8:28Speaker 1: and things like that, and getting to tune your own
- 8:31Speaker 1: bow and build our your own arrows and just every
- 8:34Speaker 1: little aspect of that. UM, it goes a long way
- 8:38Speaker 1: for me. UM. And probably my favorite would probably be
- 8:42Speaker 1: elk hunting and stuff. I've watched countless YouTube videos and
- 8:45Speaker 1: hours of you guys doing all your stuff, and I
- 8:48Speaker 1: just but I mean, we're always playing, so it's probably
- 8:50Speaker 1: that would Probably My number one is you know, the
- 8:52Speaker 1: big game stuff, But mine, UM has always been white
- 8:55Speaker 1: tail and and ducks. To to this point, all right,
- 8:58Speaker 1: Great David Peterson UM from Denver, Colorado. UM say, I'm
- 9:05Speaker 1: probably the the new guy in terms of hunting. Grew
- 9:09Speaker 1: up fishing a little bit in Florida, UM, and then
- 9:12Speaker 1: always love being outdoors and UM never really had anybody
- 9:16Speaker 1: close to me who was an influence hunting wise. UM.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And then I had some friends, uh no go and
- 9:21Speaker 1: I went to school together at Oregon. UM. He kind
- 9:25Speaker 1: of started to plant the seed a little bit with
- 9:28Speaker 1: another teammate of ours, and then UM had a buddy,
- 9:32Speaker 1: one of my best friends from back home, got me
- 9:34Speaker 1: into uh started with small game and did a bunch
- 9:37Speaker 1: of pheasant and then had another friend from Texas who
- 9:41Speaker 1: took me out of my first uh dear archery hunt.
- 9:44Speaker 1: So UM kind of similar to what Pete said, looking
- 9:48Speaker 1: forward to UM getting some time outside of baseball season
- 9:52Speaker 1: once we're done and get out there a little more.
- 9:55Speaker 1: So you guys, you guys went to college together, then
- 9:57Speaker 1: went up with the same team. Yeah we uh, we
- 10:00Speaker 1: spent two years at Oregon together. No Go got drafted
- 10:03Speaker 1: by the Red Sox. I got drafted by the Mets,
- 10:05Speaker 1: and then he ended up getting traded over. Yeah. So
- 10:10Speaker 1: I was drafted in sixteen, he was drafted in seventeen,
- 10:13Speaker 1: and then right because the draft was in June of seventeen,
- 10:17Speaker 1: and then I was traded August the seventeen over UM.
- 10:22Speaker 1: And yeah, so he was the jum buck, this little guy,
- 10:27Speaker 1: even though he's not very little. Uh, but yeah, he
- 10:33Speaker 1: came in and I kind of I was talking about
- 10:35Speaker 1: hunting with one of our catchers who we were from
- 10:39Speaker 1: the same area, hunted the same area, and then he
- 10:42Speaker 1: started to take. It was like throwing a little worm
- 10:44Speaker 1: out there, and he started taking it a little by little.
- 10:45Speaker 1: And now now I'm excited for when season is over
- 10:50Speaker 1: we can start going on hunts so good and we're
- 10:53Speaker 1: sitting in Atlanta right now about to watch you guys
- 10:56Speaker 1: play the Braves night. I saw an ESPN headline this
- 10:59Speaker 1: morning that called this the biggest regular season series in
- 11:03Speaker 1: a decade, so obviously really important games. Tell folks what's
- 11:07Speaker 1: on the line here tonight, Well, uh, what's on the
- 11:11Speaker 1: line is, um so, both teams have have clinched a
- 11:14Speaker 1: playoff spot. Um So, both teams are in. It's just
- 11:18Speaker 1: a matter of whoever basically wins this series gets to
- 11:24Speaker 1: win the division. And winning the division, Uh, you're we
- 11:27Speaker 1: are rewarded by five or six off days before before
- 11:32Speaker 1: playing the divisional series and the loser, Um, if we
- 11:37Speaker 1: lose this, I mean we still have games after this,
- 11:39Speaker 1: but basically the loser of this series still goes to
- 11:42Speaker 1: the playoffs. But we only have one off day and
- 11:45Speaker 1: we play in a three game series as opposed to
- 11:49Speaker 1: a five game series with five off days. So off
- 11:54Speaker 1: days are very very rare in the in the baseball world.
- 11:57Speaker 1: And take them while you get them, and especially now
- 11:59Speaker 1: going into the post season, getting guys healthy, getting guys
- 12:02Speaker 1: back ready to go, and uh, full power for us,
- 12:06Speaker 1: that's gonna be huge. So if we win, also, you
- 12:09Speaker 1: need to have a hell of a champagne shower. Yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 1: You were describing this as the playoffs before the playoffs, right,
- 12:15Speaker 1: I mean essentially? Yeah? Yeah, all right, but for now
- 12:18Speaker 1: we got to focus on the meteor trivia. Who do
- 12:20Speaker 1: you guys think is going to win? Pete already predicted
- 12:23Speaker 1: that Steve is going to be the Mets champion? How
- 12:26Speaker 1: does everyone else feel that folks are gonna do? I
- 12:30Speaker 1: never claimed that I'm gonna say that. First, I gotta
- 12:34Speaker 1: not the sharpest tool in the shed, and I just
- 12:36Speaker 1: like to read and learn, But I never said I
- 12:38Speaker 1: could remember it on the spot. I got Nike Winn
- 12:41Speaker 1: if I had to pick, Yeah, I think I got
- 12:43Speaker 1: make Win is kind of a sleeper, but no sort
- 12:46Speaker 1: of getting all the hype right now and he could
- 12:48Speaker 1: run away with this thing, but it wouldn't be surprised.
- 12:52Speaker 1: It's going to be questions before but what do we yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 1: what's the category? What we oh? This is all random fellas.
- 12:59Speaker 1: If there's like Disney Movies, pete might win, but if
- 13:03Speaker 1: you're not familiar. This is a ten round quiz show
- 13:05Speaker 1: with questions from meat eaters for verticals which you're hunting, fishing, conservation,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and cooking, and there is a prize. Meat eater will
- 13:11Speaker 1: donate five dollars to the conservation organization of the winners choosing.
- 13:16Speaker 1: So this is testing your knowledge of hunting, fishing, conservation, cooking.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Does that change anyone's answer now about who's gonna win?
- 13:22Speaker 1: A double down? Make one all right? Now? Every episode
- 13:26Speaker 1: here on Meat eat Or Trivia, we reveal a new stat.
- 13:29Speaker 1: This week we're looking at our only trivia advanced stat,
- 13:32Speaker 1: which will refer to as war. This was inspired by
- 13:36Speaker 1: Baseball's advanced stat called more. So, one of you guys,
- 13:40Speaker 1: please explain to Steve what war means. Steve, to be
- 13:43Speaker 1: honest with you, no one knows what the war is
- 13:47Speaker 1: a made up number, so they could make us not
- 13:50Speaker 1: that expensive, that's what it is. Or if your war
- 13:54Speaker 1: is low, you become expensive. It's a crazy they use
- 13:57Speaker 1: it opposite. So if you have a high war, they
- 13:59Speaker 1: try to pay you less. Have a low war, and
- 14:00Speaker 1: they try they give you a little more. It's it's
- 14:04Speaker 1: it's crazy. It's supposed to be. There's a set dollar
- 14:09Speaker 1: figure until you get above what they think you should
- 14:12Speaker 1: be making. Steve, there's a stat out there. I'll put
- 14:17Speaker 1: it in the hunting world like this. Say you, you
- 14:19Speaker 1: and two guys are going to on an elk con right,
- 14:22Speaker 1: and you kill a bigger bull and you do it
- 14:27Speaker 1: smooth clean, every perfect, but the other guy on the
- 14:30Speaker 1: other side of the mountain does it a little bit quicker.
- 14:33Speaker 1: They're gonna be like, well, yeah, Steve was a little
- 14:35Speaker 1: bit slower, so we have to knock some dollars off
- 14:38Speaker 1: his thing. Even though you were better, you're just not
- 14:42Speaker 1: as good. You're just slower. And like there's there's stats
- 14:45Speaker 1: and stuff like that. So the war they're just poking
- 14:48Speaker 1: holes in the lid of that coffee can just to
- 14:49Speaker 1: not give you what you need in a way. And
- 14:51Speaker 1: now has a war number. This number was generated by
- 14:57Speaker 1: taking a player's every score and dividing it the average
- 15:00Speaker 1: points needed to win. This is a leveling factor that
- 15:03Speaker 1: takes into consideration how difficult rounds of trivia are and
- 15:06Speaker 1: how different players compete in them. Simply put, the higher
- 15:09Speaker 1: the number, the stronger the player, So our leader in
- 15:12Speaker 1: war is Brody with seven point two. That's followed by
- 15:16Speaker 1: Steve was six point three, Honest with five point eight,
- 15:18Speaker 1: Callen Hayden with five point five, and Rick with five
- 15:21Speaker 1: point oh. Those are our only competitors with a war
- 15:24Speaker 1: above five. So, Steve, how do you feel about our
- 15:26Speaker 1: advanced stat? Well? I think it. Uh. I don't mean
- 15:30Speaker 1: to dog on, you know, I don't mean to criticize
- 15:33Speaker 1: these guys criticisms about whatever war means in their world,
- 15:36Speaker 1: but war in the trivia world is pretty reflective of
- 15:40Speaker 1: performance in general. So you support our war stat It
- 15:44Speaker 1: seems reasonable to me. It's weird Sean as an emerging
- 15:47Speaker 1: threat didn't make it in there. He's he's under five.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I think he's right around. And with that, we're on
- 15:56Speaker 1: the Meetia to trivia. Play the drop one question, play
- 15:59Speaker 1: the drop. Uh, can you walk me through like you'd
- 16:02Speaker 1: like to throw a bone to gas? How are you?
- 16:04Speaker 1: How are you approaching that question too? You'll know pretty quick.
- 16:08Speaker 1: So it's only you're only throwing them one bone. They
- 16:10Speaker 1: get one bone. It didn't flavor the whole thing. We
- 16:14Speaker 1: also have a question about the NFL, which I realized
- 16:16Speaker 1: these guys don't play football, but I think it would
- 16:18Speaker 1: give them a flavor. Did the did the the our
- 16:22Speaker 1: guests occupations flavor the entire suite of questions? Not the
- 16:28Speaker 1: entire thing? No, I would still flavor eight. I would
- 16:33Speaker 1: say it flavored all ten, but not in a in
- 16:36Speaker 1: a significant way. The little a little pinch. That's right.
- 16:40Speaker 1: One of them will heavily favor them for being MLB players,
- 16:43Speaker 1: But the rest they're gonna have to earn it because
- 16:45Speaker 1: I have view anything that favors them as being not
- 16:48Speaker 1: favoring me. That's very true. Look, I need to know
- 16:55Speaker 1: what I should under win everything. How's that just tend
- 17:00Speaker 1: to win everything? Question one? The topic is fishing, and
- 17:13Speaker 1: this is multiple choice. Which of these invasive species was
- 17:18Speaker 1: the last to arrive in America? Is it lion fish,
- 17:23Speaker 1: common carp, zebra muscles, or northern snakehead? Which of these
- 17:29Speaker 1: invasive species was last to arrive in America? Your choices
- 17:34Speaker 1: are lion fish, common carp, zebra muscles, or northern snakehead. Steve,
- 17:40Speaker 1: how you feel about this one? I gotta I know
- 17:44Speaker 1: I got a down dope to two? Okay? Does arrest
- 17:48Speaker 1: the room feel that confident that you got it down
- 17:50Speaker 1: to two? Of them, yep, one more time. Choices are
- 17:54Speaker 1: lion fish, common carb, zebra muscles in northern snakehead. Are
- 17:58Speaker 1: you all wanting us to write out like d or
- 18:00Speaker 1: do you want to out right out the whole answer?
- 18:03Speaker 1: So if you think it's lion fish, right out line fish,
- 18:05Speaker 1: he doesn't. He won't bone you on spelling either. Does everybody,
- 18:10Speaker 1: even though someone here has requested it before, does everybody
- 18:13Speaker 1: have an answer? Go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 18:18Speaker 1: got Tommy, Tommy saying northern snakehead. Uh, Stephen saying snakehead,
- 18:24Speaker 1: Chris saying snakehead, Pete saying he was right and away,
- 18:29Speaker 1: yeah he was. It was. It's a wrong. It's a
- 18:31Speaker 1: long answer. It's a long answer. We got Pete saying
- 18:36Speaker 1: zebra muscles, Steve saying sneakheads, Kren saying lion fish, Sun
- 18:40Speaker 1: saying snakehead, Tyler saying snakehead, David saying snakehead. The room
- 18:45Speaker 1: did very well. The correct answer is northern snakehead. Pets
- 18:48Speaker 1: already behind man. Common Carp arrived on america Is coast.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Thank you for that. That was that was great. Common
- 19:00Speaker 1: Carp arrived on America's East coast in eighteen thirty one.
- 19:03Speaker 1: The first lion fish here was spotted in Florida in
- 19:06Speaker 1: nineteen eighty five, The first zebra muscles showed up in
- 19:09Speaker 1: a Lake Saint Clair cargo ship in nineteen eighty six,
- 19:12Speaker 1: and the country's first northern snakehead was caught from a
- 19:15Speaker 1: California pond in nineteen It was California, California. A lot
- 19:20Speaker 1: of people think it would be Maryland with the Potomac,
- 19:22Speaker 1: but it was actually California started the invasion nineties seven,
- 19:26Speaker 1: So that's eleven years after. What are the what are
- 19:30Speaker 1: the fish that jumped like with like a boat, That's
- 19:35Speaker 1: what I was. I was like, all right, maybe those
- 19:37Speaker 1: are brand new newish. They the whole carp invasion sort
- 19:41Speaker 1: of happened at once and finding like firm dates on
- 19:44Speaker 1: wind all no common cars like not I mean the
- 19:49Speaker 1: the Asiatic carp having at once right. Well, But the
- 19:52Speaker 1: problem is like when you look at the literature, there's
- 19:55Speaker 1: like the Asian carpet broken up into black grass, silver
- 19:59Speaker 1: big head. You'll find days like Asian carp drive now,
- 20:02Speaker 1: but then silver carp right now. It's just like too
- 20:05Speaker 1: hard common carpell firmly in eighteen through one on purpose.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they were just like throwing them off of
- 20:10Speaker 1: trains to stock him in every pond. The government was
- 20:12Speaker 1: giving them away. They wanted them in everybody of water.
- 20:15Speaker 1: They thought everybody would just be loving it, eating them. Yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Question to the topic is hunting. This state, whose MLB
- 20:26Speaker 1: team has a moose for a mascot, has the fourth
- 20:29Speaker 1: highest moose population in America. This state, whose MLB team
- 20:36Speaker 1: has a moose for a mascot, has the fourth highest
- 20:39Speaker 1: moose population in America. Most of our baseball players seem
- 20:45Speaker 1: like they have it. Pete looks stumped. What in the
- 20:50Speaker 1: world you guys are ridiculous right now if y'all get
- 20:54Speaker 1: it wrong on the fourth highest in the drinking Just
- 21:00Speaker 1: the way their faces extorting right now, I mean, this
- 21:05Speaker 1: is You's the question one more time? This state, who's
- 21:10Speaker 1: MLB team to This state whose MLB team has a
- 21:15Speaker 1: moose for a mascot, has the fourth highest moose population
- 21:20Speaker 1: in America. I'm trying to picture him on the dugout.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Oh no, no, keep your answer on there. Don't change it.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Got a lot of coaching going on from Tommy here.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Highest in America, fourth highest moose population. I'm looking for
- 21:34Speaker 1: the state. You need to tell me what state this
- 21:35Speaker 1: is and their MLB team has a moose for a mascot.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I'm just a state, like what. All states don't have
- 21:42Speaker 1: a team. Don't tell him that MLD players. This is
- 21:46Speaker 1: your best chance to pull a head of Steve. Northern
- 21:49Speaker 1: states have very limited teams. We're just the states right
- 21:53Speaker 1: just right down. That's right. Don't don't help do not
- 21:57Speaker 1: help him. This is your chance to get lead. Don't
- 22:01Speaker 1: help him at all. Does everybody have an answer? Looking
- 22:08Speaker 1: for the state whose MLB team has a moose fer
- 22:10Speaker 1: mascot and the fourth highest moose population in America? Steve
- 22:15Speaker 1: is stumped. I love that you just stripped all the
- 22:19Speaker 1: other bullshit out and just said fourth highest moose population
- 22:22Speaker 1: in America to stumped man looking for the state, kiss
- 22:29Speaker 1: spell right, kiss my hands. I think this is an
- 22:34Speaker 1: American League question. You would be right that that's not
- 22:38Speaker 1: gonna help you. That's you guys are talking in riddles
- 22:41Speaker 1: right now. To Steve, I don't think I got it.
- 22:44Speaker 1: If I got it pretty close, okay, does everybody have
- 22:47Speaker 1: an answer? That's what I go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 22:51Speaker 1: We got Tommy saying Washington Stephen staying Washington, Chris saying Washington, Washington,
- 22:57Speaker 1: Steve saying Washington and saying Wisconsin, Sean saying Wisconsinhington David
- 23:06Speaker 1: saying Washington. It's wrong. The correct answer is Washington. The
- 23:11Speaker 1: Seattle Moose, Dude, I've never played in Seattle. They have
- 23:14Speaker 1: the move I've never played. That's such a dug out.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Their mascot is doesn't make any sense. I mean, I
- 23:24Speaker 1: bet their game. The Seattle Manners have the coolest camera
- 23:30Speaker 1: in the big leagues on that field is sick to know. Yeah,
- 23:38Speaker 1: I've been there, man. My kids thought it was because
- 23:40Speaker 1: they like do the fireworks after every comer. You know,
- 23:43Speaker 1: my kids thought it was a fireworks show that played
- 23:45Speaker 1: out very slowly. When when did you go? When did
- 23:49Speaker 1: you go? Have been like probably four or five years ago,
- 23:51Speaker 1: because now they're selling like like crickets and all that
- 23:54Speaker 1: stuff at the at the ballpark, eating crickets, crickets to eat. Yeah,
- 24:00Speaker 1: put chocolate on him. Mariner moose. So it's a moose
- 24:04Speaker 1: dressed up like a Mariner. Yes, exactly, Susville. I'm from
- 24:08Speaker 1: watching I was a die hard Mariners fan for Wow.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I just want to let you guys know that this
- 24:14Speaker 1: question was completely unfair to those who did not play
- 24:17Speaker 1: in the American League. I'm a only a National League
- 24:20Speaker 1: gy and I had went over my fucking head. Why
- 24:24Speaker 1: do you have it right there? Though? Because I was
- 24:26Speaker 1: my best educated guess Washington, he just had to use
- 24:29Speaker 1: the fourth highest moose population. He's still got it right
- 24:32Speaker 1: what I'm saying, But he why does it seem like
- 24:34Speaker 1: he's You're complaining even though you one. No, It's because
- 24:37Speaker 1: Chris gets fucking giving me a hard time over here.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Alaska has two hundred thousand moose, which is followed by
- 24:43Speaker 1: Maine with sixty five thousand, Idaho with ten thousand, Washington
- 24:47Speaker 1: with five thousands, and Minnesota with forty seven hundred. The
- 24:51Speaker 1: Seattle Mariners, who have the only moose mascot in baseball,
- 24:55Speaker 1: has been proudly represented by Mariner Moose since ninety How
- 24:59Speaker 1: many does wash in half? Washington has five thousand? How many?
- 25:02Speaker 1: Minnesota had? The Twins mascot? Is a bear? TC? Bear?
- 25:09Speaker 1: You had a mammal question three? The topic is wildlife.
- 25:13Speaker 1: This next great question comes to us via Cody Row.
- 25:15Speaker 1: If you have a question you think is right for
- 25:17Speaker 1: Meat Eater Trivia, you can send it to trivia at
- 25:19Speaker 1: the meat eater dot com. Now this is a visual question.
- 25:22Speaker 1: If you want to see what the room is seeing,
- 25:25Speaker 1: then go to Instagram and check out at Spencer New Heart.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I'll make it my most recent post. This famous bear
- 25:32Speaker 1: from Georgia died in night five after eating seventy six
- 25:36Speaker 1: pounds of what. You can pass around if you need
- 25:40Speaker 1: to see the photo. This is the taxidermy bear again.
- 25:44Speaker 1: This famous bear from Georgia died in night after eating
- 25:49Speaker 1: seventy six pounds of what. Some quick answers in this
- 25:54Speaker 1: you want his name or what he ate? No, no no,
- 25:56Speaker 1: I want to know what he ate? This famous his
- 26:00Speaker 1: name died. You know his name died in the There's
- 26:06Speaker 1: a couple of quick answers before the question, was he even?
- 26:08Speaker 1: Was he ate seventy six pounds of what? How do
- 26:14Speaker 1: you guys even know? That's what he was going to ask. Well,
- 26:17Speaker 1: he ras see the picture? He got it. I thought
- 26:22Speaker 1: we were going with a name and the only bear
- 26:24Speaker 1: name I know, Smokey the bear question, it's what he ate?
- 26:34Speaker 1: Where's it? Can we see the picture again? You can
- 26:37Speaker 1: see the picture. Here's the question one more time. This
- 26:40Speaker 1: famous bear from Georgia died in nineteen five after eating
- 26:45Speaker 1: seventy six pounds of what do you accept? His name?
- 26:50Speaker 1: And now you need to tell me what this bear ate?
- 26:55Speaker 1: Does anybody besides Steve think they know it? Sean, you
- 26:57Speaker 1: know it? Yeah, I'm nineties six point seven percent sure.
- 27:05Speaker 1: That definitely spells he wrong, though, Oh there's a hint
- 27:12Speaker 1: if you trust that he has the right answer. Yeah,
- 27:14Speaker 1: that that really if he was like, oh, I know one,
- 27:18Speaker 1: what do you put it? At? Ninety point seven? Does
- 27:23Speaker 1: that I have a chance? It's a hard words spell. No,
- 27:25Speaker 1: I spelled like a four year old? Does everybody have
- 27:30Speaker 1: an answer? Looking for what this bear? Eight seventy six
- 27:34Speaker 1: pounds of that killed him? I'm good, go ahead and
- 27:38Speaker 1: reveal your answers. Tommy saying saying cocaine, Chris saying beef jerky, Pete, Pete,
- 27:48Speaker 1: what's your answer? Pete saying spoiled food, Steve saying cocaine,
- 27:51Speaker 1: Karin saying hot cheetos, Sean saying cocaine, Tyler saying when
- 28:00Speaker 1: whatever Nogo said it's tough to spell. I was like,
- 28:03Speaker 1: we're in Georgia. It's cut. It's an invasive plant. That's dude.
- 28:11Speaker 1: I had this whole plane. I was like, Steve and
- 28:12Speaker 1: Pete texted and he said, make us about cut suit
- 28:15Speaker 1: at some point, because Steve Pete loves cut suit. So
- 28:18Speaker 1: the New York Metropolitans love cut suit. It's our it's
- 28:21Speaker 1: our favorite vine. And David David sang tobacco. The correct
- 28:27Speaker 1: answer is cocaine. Oh my god, I think you should
- 28:31Speaker 1: have said the bear's name. That he has multiple names.
- 28:34Speaker 1: This creator, who ate fourteen million dollars worth of blow,
- 28:38Speaker 1: is known as the Cocaine Bear or Pablo Esco Bear.
- 28:41Speaker 1: He stumbled on a duffle bag of coke that fell
- 28:43Speaker 1: from a smugglers plane over the Chattahoochee National Forest. The
- 28:47Speaker 1: Cocaine Bear was taxed, I mean, and it's now on
- 28:49Speaker 1: display at the Kentucky for Kentucky Fun Mall in Lexington,
- 28:54Speaker 1: because I remember reading an article about that and they
- 28:57Speaker 1: mentioned that he was the most apex predator on planet
- 29:00Speaker 1: Earth at that time. It's imagine running into that bear.
- 29:05Speaker 1: It's amazing. Would it be just so bluntly quickly toxic
- 29:12Speaker 1: or would it be that he was that he had
- 29:14Speaker 1: some hours He yeah, it was just like it's just
- 29:18Speaker 1: like so much that you're just dead There's also theories
- 29:21Speaker 1: there was somebody who did knee cropsy on this bear
- 29:24Speaker 1: and they only found like four milligrams of coke in
- 29:26Speaker 1: its system. Now people actually suspect that somebody luckily just
- 29:31Speaker 1: showed up on this defel bag of coke, took it
- 29:33Speaker 1: with him and the bear died anyway from only like
- 29:36Speaker 1: you know, a sniffle, Oh, I got you, but the
- 29:40Speaker 1: that's not nearest fun pounds got the credit, but some
- 29:47Speaker 1: dude ran off of all the stuff. That's but with
- 29:50Speaker 1: his name and the display at where he's taxed Durman,
- 29:52Speaker 1: it says he ate seventy six pounds of cocaine. Good
- 29:55Speaker 1: for that bear. There's a brand new house mansion right
- 29:58Speaker 1: up the hill. Some local dare look also just living
- 30:03Speaker 1: the life. He was a lottery but no one ever
- 30:07Speaker 1: saw the ticket, you know. Question for the topic is cooking.
- 30:13Speaker 1: The flint stone steak is a nickname for what cut
- 30:16Speaker 1: of meat? The flint stone steak is a nickname for
- 30:22Speaker 1: what cut of meat? Some quick answers, you know this one, Tommy, No,
- 30:30Speaker 1: how about you, Pete? You got this one? What the
- 30:31Speaker 1: flint stone steak is? I think I have a strong
- 30:35Speaker 1: educated guess, but probably not this this question for again,
- 30:41Speaker 1: the topic is cooking. The flint Stone steak is a
- 30:44Speaker 1: nickname for what cut of meat. A lot of writing
- 30:49Speaker 1: from Steve over there. Does everybody okay? Because that won't
- 30:56Speaker 1: help you. Does everybody have an answer? These guys are
- 30:59Speaker 1: showing each other the answer. Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 31:03Speaker 1: We got Tommy saying tomahawk, Stephen saying ribby, Chris sang
- 31:07Speaker 1: t bone, Pete saying bone in ribby, Steve saying what's that?
- 31:11Speaker 1: Say chop? And then I got there's the loin and
- 31:14Speaker 1: there's the upper rim, Shawn saying bone in, ham, Tyler saying,
- 31:21Speaker 1: and David saying tomahawk. The correct answer is ribby or tomahawk.
- 31:26Speaker 1: So the room did fairly well. Definitely acceptable, I would
- 31:30Speaker 1: say I would give that to you. This is of
- 31:33Speaker 1: course named after Fred Flintstone. It's basically a ribby steak
- 31:36Speaker 1: that wasn't cut off the rib bone. If you want
- 31:39Speaker 1: to learn how to remove one of them from a deer,
- 31:41Speaker 1: then go to the Meat eater dot com and watch
- 31:43Speaker 1: Ryan Callahan's video called how to cut a tomahawk Steak.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Question five the topic is hunting. This next Greek question
- 31:51Speaker 1: comes to us via Colin Conner. If you have a
- 31:53Speaker 1: question you think is right for from Meat Eater Trivia,
- 31:55Speaker 1: you can send it to Trivia at the meat eater
- 31:57Speaker 1: dot com. There are five animals you can hunt in
- 32:01Speaker 1: the nineteen eight five video game The Organ Trail. Named
- 32:05Speaker 1: three of those animals, three of them. There are five
- 32:10Speaker 1: animals you can hunt in the nineteen eight five video
- 32:14Speaker 1: game The Organ Trail named three of those animals. Tommy's
- 32:19Speaker 1: got this one of them. This is actually hilarious because
- 32:21Speaker 1: I just downloaded Organ Trail, had had a chance to
- 32:26Speaker 1: dig in, I brinded it. Now. I feel I feel
- 32:32Speaker 1: like there's been like twenty versions of the Oregon Trail.
- 32:35Speaker 1: The five is kind of one of the o G versions.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I have the modern version. Okay, I listed every animal,
- 32:41Speaker 1: just case only list three? Only list three of them?
- 32:45Speaker 1: Can't have you just shotgun and out answers. There are
- 32:47Speaker 1: five animals you can hunt in the video game The
- 32:50Speaker 1: Organ Trail named three of those animals. Steve, did you
- 32:55Speaker 1: ever play The Organ Trail? Do you know what it is? Yep,
- 33:02Speaker 1: it's a video game. Does everybody have an answer? Looking
- 33:05Speaker 1: for three of the five animals that you can hunt
- 33:11Speaker 1: waiting on David. David, you can come up with a
- 33:13Speaker 1: third one. You went to school there, you should know it, buddy,
- 33:18Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We got Tommy saying buffalo, elk, moose,
- 33:22Speaker 1: Stephen saying moose, dear bison, Chris saying elk, bison, deer,
- 33:27Speaker 1: Pete saying dear fox, bear, Steve saying bison, dear turkey,
- 33:32Speaker 1: Grin saying turkey, bison, deer, Sean saying dear squirrel, bear,
- 33:36Speaker 1: Tyler saying dear rabbit, beaver that's ay, or bear, bear,
- 33:41Speaker 1: dear rabbit bear. David saying bear, dear squirrel. The five
- 33:46Speaker 1: animals you can hunt are squirrels, rabbits, bison, deer, and bear.
- 33:53Speaker 1: The room did fairly well. I don't know where that
- 33:56Speaker 1: turkey I got a thing came from. Man. I'm just like,
- 33:58Speaker 1: all of a sudden, in my mind, I out the
- 34:00Speaker 1: more modern version. I got into the politics of like that.
- 34:04Speaker 1: They're like, well, it can't be a bear because people
- 34:06Speaker 1: think it's mean. I brought too much into the table, man,
- 34:13Speaker 1: and it was like the old days, right. I died
- 34:15Speaker 1: of dysentery. During the popular Hunting mini game, players had
- 34:19Speaker 1: to type bang to fire their gun at the five
- 34:22Speaker 1: different animals. The Organ Trail entered the World Video Game
- 34:26Speaker 1: Hall of Fame in it was the only educational video
- 34:29Speaker 1: game to receive such an honor until Where in the
- 34:32Speaker 1: World Is. Carmen San Diego was inducted in best This
- 34:37Speaker 1: was not what I was thinking. You picked me to
- 34:41Speaker 1: win in this like cooking and stuff, brother or not,
- 34:43Speaker 1: I'm bringing it. I'm gonna bring it in, but I
- 34:44Speaker 1: ain't cooking it up. We are way through the game
- 34:48Speaker 1: of trivia. Give us a scoreboard update, Phil, Yeah, we'll
- 34:51Speaker 1: do uh in last place. But still on the board,
- 34:54Speaker 1: we have Karine Schneider with one point, coming up next
- 34:58Speaker 1: with two points. He's got a high asked. We've got
- 35:00Speaker 1: Pete Alonzo tied for We got a four way tie
- 35:05Speaker 1: for the next spot. Here we got Tommy Hunter, Stephen Ronella,
- 35:09Speaker 1: Sean Weaver, and Chris Bassett all with three points and
- 35:13Speaker 1: then tied for first place with four points apiece. We've
- 35:16Speaker 1: got Tyler Nike when Dave Peterson and Stevenago sick. Wow,
- 35:21Speaker 1: I was really hoping to right now, no nozz Pete
- 35:25Speaker 1: got to last. Okay, so who's that's a reverse order?
- 35:29Speaker 1: Then he's almost in Yes, yeah, yeah, exactly Who's who's
- 35:33Speaker 1: in the lead? Tyler Stephen Dave Are. I was hoping
- 35:39Speaker 1: because usually when we do this and someone's got a
- 35:41Speaker 1: perfect score, we say they're throwing a perfect game. Would
- 35:43Speaker 1: have been a perfect metaphor. But unfortunately you got the
- 35:46Speaker 1: wrong version of Oregan Trail, so I couldn't couldn't throw
- 35:48Speaker 1: that out there. You screwed up Oregan Trail. Yeah. I
- 35:52Speaker 1: went with a modern version that I've been playing in
- 35:54Speaker 1: the past two days. Apparently has moose. But the five version,
- 35:58Speaker 1: that's a tricky question. I don't remember the squirrels at all. Squirrels,
- 36:04Speaker 1: I don't remember they were there. But it was a
- 36:06Speaker 1: very poor yield for meat. You can only take a
- 36:08Speaker 1: hundred pounds of meat at a time on a hunt,
- 36:10Speaker 1: so you were wasting your time if you were shooting
- 36:12Speaker 1: bullets at Bullets are expensive. You gotta really plan out,
- 36:17Speaker 1: and they take up a lot of room. And I'm
- 36:18Speaker 1: not shooting a damn squirrel. When I have seven, I'll shoot,
- 36:22Speaker 1: I'll shoot the elk. Good strategy Question six. The topic
- 36:36Speaker 1: is conservation. Although this marsupial wasn't declared extinct until nineteen
- 36:41Speaker 1: eighty two. The last known one of these died at
- 36:44Speaker 1: a zoo in nineteen thirty six. What is it? Although
- 36:50Speaker 1: this marsupial wasn't declared extinct until nineteen eighty two, the
- 36:55Speaker 1: last known one of these died at a zoo in
- 36:58Speaker 1: nineteen thirty six. What is it? Steve has his fist
- 37:02Speaker 1: in the air. He knows this one. The rest of
- 37:05Speaker 1: the room not as confident. I think there's a good
- 37:09Speaker 1: bit of us who are wondering what the marsupial is.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Thing like a kangaroo, but not a kangaroo. There you go, Jeff,
- 37:17Speaker 1: Jeff McNeil, He's a flying squirrel. Flying squirrels are marsupials.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I can't even remember what drinks exactly called. I'm just
- 37:28Speaker 1: this is this is fun. It is extinct in nineteen
- 37:31Speaker 1: thirty six, Again the topic is conservation, although this marsupial
- 37:36Speaker 1: wasn't declared extinct until nineteen eighty two. The last known
- 37:40Speaker 1: one of these died into zoo in nineteen thirty six.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I think you should throw a little more in. What
- 37:46Speaker 1: what other detail would you add? I think that you
- 37:49Speaker 1: could go so far is to um narrow? Uh like
- 37:55Speaker 1: maybe it's uh multiple choice? Why do you can you
- 38:01Speaker 1: could help geographically, I'll tell you what zoo it died at.
- 38:04Speaker 1: It was an Australian zoo. Work were there conservation efforts
- 38:08Speaker 1: made to try to save this but it was too late?
- 38:12Speaker 1: I would say very minimal, like it was non existent. Okay,
- 38:20Speaker 1: that doesn't help me. Do you guys know any marsupials
- 38:25Speaker 1: besides a flying squirrel? I think you could even say
- 38:28Speaker 1: something like, I didn't even know where it's from, but
- 38:30Speaker 1: I can't remember what the actual name of it. I
- 38:33Speaker 1: think you could even say, here's here's why I feel
- 38:37Speaker 1: okay about it. There's hardly any marsupials in the world,
- 38:40Speaker 1: so to figure out which one went extinct, it's a
- 38:42Speaker 1: short list declared extinct in nineteen eighty two, but the
- 38:47Speaker 1: last known one died at the zoo in give it
- 38:51Speaker 1: hint ready, I'm gonna give hint Willem Defoe and then
- 39:00Speaker 1: I don't get that hinted all. I have the answer
- 39:04Speaker 1: in front of me, and that didn't help me. Does
- 39:07Speaker 1: everybody have an answer? Who's gonna come up with an answer?
- 39:10Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveil your answers. We got Tommy saying wombat,
- 39:17Speaker 1: Chris got an answer, Pete saying giant wombat, Steve saying
- 39:22Speaker 1: Tasmanian tiger, Krin saying some kind of sloth, Sean saying
- 39:26Speaker 1: Tasmanian tiger, David saying albino kangaroo. Steve got it and
- 39:31Speaker 1: Sean got it. It's a Tasmanian tiger. There's a Willem
- 39:34Speaker 1: Dafoe movie that came out not too long ago about
- 39:37Speaker 1: a guy these it's these guys that are these evil scientists. Well,
- 39:44Speaker 1: all right, let back up, man. There's a term called
- 39:46Speaker 1: the Lazarus species. And as we all know, in the
- 39:48Speaker 1: Old Testament Lazarus, No, he's a New Testament or Old
- 39:51Speaker 1: Testament Lazarus in the Bible, as the Lazarus dies and
- 39:56Speaker 1: he's brought back to life. So with a lot of
- 40:00Speaker 1: dangerous species, we have like certain Lazarus species. And for
- 40:03Speaker 1: the most noteworthy in our continent is the the blackfooted ferret.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Everybody thought it went extinct. Then all of a sudden,
- 40:10Speaker 1: the rancher's dog is standing there with a dead one
- 40:12Speaker 1: in his mouth, and they realized, the Holy ship, there's
- 40:14Speaker 1: this population in the tits Wyoming that no one knew about. Uh.
- 40:18Speaker 1: The Tasmanian tiger has this long it's people. There's people
- 40:22Speaker 1: that just do not accept that it's gone. There's sightings
- 40:24Speaker 1: every year. Willem defoteed a movie where these evil bio
- 40:29Speaker 1: engineers were gonna they've found out about the last one,
- 40:34Speaker 1: and and he was hired to go get it so
- 40:36Speaker 1: they can make an evil medicine. And in the and
- 40:39Speaker 1: he kills it and burns it last Tasmanian tiger. It's
- 40:43Speaker 1: like a like like they find out that there's one
- 40:46Speaker 1: still run around, and there's every year you've got people
- 40:48Speaker 1: who are like I saw one crossing the road. Most
- 40:51Speaker 1: biologists believed Tasmanian tigers went extincts sometime in the nineteen fifties,
- 40:56Speaker 1: while they think they might have held on into the
- 40:58Speaker 1: twenty first century. One of the most optic mystic researchers
- 41:01Speaker 1: is Barry Brook, a mamally cologist from the University of Tasmania.
- 41:05Speaker 1: He believes there's a ten percent chance that the Tasmanian
- 41:08Speaker 1: tiger is still alive, but is ready to admit their
- 41:11Speaker 1: extinct if a clear photograph isn't produced by the year one.
- 41:16Speaker 1: They come up with that date. He said, If I
- 41:19Speaker 1: don't see a clear photograph in the next decade, this
- 41:21Speaker 1: is a code he had last year and their extinct.
- 41:24Speaker 1: And there's no chance, he said, photographs are too easy
- 41:26Speaker 1: to take anymore. If they're out there, we're gonna know.
- 41:28Speaker 1: It sounds like he's just like spitballing in ten years
- 41:30Speaker 1: from now if I don't see a good picture. It's
- 41:33Speaker 1: so academic, right, Like all kinds of other ship could emerge,
- 41:37Speaker 1: like hair samples. But he'd be like, I haven't got
- 41:42Speaker 1: the that's a cool thing about a Tasmanian tigers. Anybody
- 41:46Speaker 1: could be an expert because they just like don't exist.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Question seven, The topic is for bears. This next great
- 41:53Speaker 1: question comes to is via Colton Winkler. If you have
- 41:55Speaker 1: a question you think is right for meat Eatter Trivia,
- 41:57Speaker 1: you can send it to trivia at the meat Eator
- 41:59Speaker 1: dot com. Two Southern states list the raccoon as an
- 42:03Speaker 1: official state mammal name one of those states. Two Southern
- 42:10Speaker 1: states list the raccoon as an official state mammal name
- 42:15Speaker 1: one of those two states. Did you say a fur
- 42:20Speaker 1: bear a fur bearer? Fur bearer we call him trash
- 42:25Speaker 1: pandas in Texas, be like like an animal producers. I
- 42:30Speaker 1: don't know what he was saying. I was like fur Bearer.
- 42:34Speaker 1: There's even a minor league baseball team, right, that is
- 42:36Speaker 1: it Anaheims. That's the Rocket City trash Pandas. That's cool,
- 42:41Speaker 1: that's great. Two southern states that have the raccoon is
- 42:46Speaker 1: an official state mammal. You need to name one of
- 42:49Speaker 1: those states worst one? Just picking the worst southern state?
- 42:56Speaker 1: Does everybody have an answer to Southern states? Just looking?
- 43:07Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We got Tommy saying
- 43:10Speaker 1: the worst southern state Alabama, Stephen staying Alabama, Chris saying Mississippi,
- 43:15Speaker 1: pizzaying Arkansas, Steve saying Georgia, kre In saying South Carolina,
- 43:19Speaker 1: Shawn saying Mississippi, Tyler saying Texas, and David saying Alabama.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Nobody got it, But the correct answers are Oklahoma and Tennessee.
- 43:30Speaker 1: You guys name almost. I thought Arkansas was a great
- 43:36Speaker 1: guest every of the planes. That's not that's when when
- 43:41Speaker 1: you say that. I looked at the year the US
- 43:44Speaker 1: Bureau of Maps and they identify that as the south
- 43:47Speaker 1: anything below the Mason Dixon as far west as Oklahoma.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I personally don't believe Alabama is the worst. I just
- 43:54Speaker 1: think other people think it's the worst. That's why I
- 43:56Speaker 1: said it needed to relate. You know. Still, World Tide
- 43:58Speaker 1: Boys Tennessee deck the Raccoon their official state mammal. In
- 44:02Speaker 1: nineteen seventy one, in Oklahoma declared the raccoon their official
- 44:06Speaker 1: state fur bearing mammal. In Oklahoma is the only state
- 44:11Speaker 1: with an official state fur bearer. Question eight, the topic
- 44:16Speaker 1: is cooking. What medi monstrosity was popularized in America by
- 44:23Speaker 1: NFL commentator John Madden. What what Meadi monstrosity was popularized
- 44:32Speaker 1: in America by NFL commentator A villainous laugh from Chris
- 44:41Speaker 1: he thinks he knows the answer. A Meadi monstrosity was
- 44:46Speaker 1: popularized in America by NFL commentator John Madden. I've seen
- 44:52Speaker 1: some answer sharing being done over here, but Chris is
- 44:55Speaker 1: keeping this one to himself. He put his board on
- 44:57Speaker 1: the ground. This is question eight. We'll get a scoreboard
- 45:02Speaker 1: update from Phil after this. I don't even have like
- 45:07Speaker 1: something to write down. What medi monstrosity was popularized in
- 45:11Speaker 1: America by NFL commentator John Madden. Do you know who
- 45:16Speaker 1: John Madden is? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, But this is a
- 45:21Speaker 1: so it's a it's a food. It's a food. It's
- 45:24Speaker 1: a Meadi monstross. It's like a single big item. And
- 45:36Speaker 1: tell you this, it's a Meadi monstross. Whatever you think
- 45:39Speaker 1: that means. John Man popularized I'll give a little meat.
- 45:46Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't want to hold onto this.
- 45:51Speaker 1: You're the only one who knows it. It It could put
- 45:52Speaker 1: you in the lead. All right, all right, okay, can
- 45:59Speaker 1: we ask if it's an animal or like? Not giving
- 46:03Speaker 1: any hints? It's a meaty monstrosity. Steve, do you have
- 46:06Speaker 1: an answer? Yeah, but it's not it's not the right answer. Okay,
- 46:09Speaker 1: I'm drawing. It's total blank man. I just wrote down
- 46:12Speaker 1: something I think of as a Meadi monstross. Okay, go
- 46:16Speaker 1: ahead and reveal your answers. We got Tommy saying alligator,
- 46:19Speaker 1: Stephen saying meaty milkshake, Chris sang tour ducan, Pete saying
- 46:24Speaker 1: big buford burger, Steve saying saying sloppy, Joe Tyler saying ribs,
- 46:31Speaker 1: David saying giant turkey legs. Chris got it. The correct
- 46:35Speaker 1: answer is a tur ducane a. Steve also got it.
- 46:40Speaker 1: It's a turkey. They a big turkey, put a duck
- 46:45Speaker 1: in the turkey and then put a chicken in the duck.
- 46:48Speaker 1: It's like one big meat ball, but Madden was introduced.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Madden was introduced the tur ducan at a ram Saints
- 46:58Speaker 1: game in nine nineties six. A few weeks later, during
- 47:01Speaker 1: the NFL's Thanksgiving Game, Madden gave the meal national attention
- 47:05Speaker 1: by calling it one of the best things he'd ever eaten.
- 47:07Speaker 1: One to duck, and seller from Louisiana said that the
- 47:10Speaker 1: following year his sales went from two hundred to six thousand,
- 47:14Speaker 1: all because Madden evangelized about the unusual dish. Madden reportedly
- 47:19Speaker 1: ate one every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phil, we
- 47:23Speaker 1: have two questions left, give us a scoreboard update. All right,
- 47:27Speaker 1: Karin still has one point, Pete Alonso still has two points. Then,
- 47:32Speaker 1: unfortunately they are out of the running, but still in
- 47:36Speaker 1: the running. With two questions left, we have Tommy Hunter
- 47:39Speaker 1: with three points and all with four points. You've got Tyler,
- 47:44Speaker 1: Stephen Ghostick, Sean Weaver, David Peterson, and Chris Bassett and
- 47:48Speaker 1: in first place pulled ahead five points. We have Stephen Ranella.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Two questions left. Don't blow it. I'm gonna throw the game.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Question nine. The topic is geared. This next great question
- 48:03Speaker 1: comes to us via Ben Roadie. If you have a
- 48:05Speaker 1: question you think is right from meat eat to Trivita,
- 48:07Speaker 1: you can send it to triviat to meat eator dot com.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Besides a blade named two of the three tools that
- 48:14Speaker 1: the first Swiss Army knife had. Besides a blade named
- 48:21Speaker 1: two of the three tools that the first Swiss Army
- 48:26Speaker 1: Knife had, a lot of thinking going on. I just
- 48:30Speaker 1: hate that you threw that out there and got that.
- 48:34Speaker 1: There's a good guest, though, I don't even know what
- 48:36Speaker 1: I don't even know what another option would be. I
- 48:39Speaker 1: was thinking. I was just thinking it was gonna be
- 48:43Speaker 1: some super stacked burger that's like, you know, a bunch
- 48:47Speaker 1: of bacon and an eggs. Blade named two of the
- 48:54Speaker 1: three tools that the first Swiss Army Knife had. It's
- 48:59Speaker 1: really not surprised. John Madden was a big tur duck
- 49:01Speaker 1: and fan. There was another time on Monday night football
- 49:05Speaker 1: where he ate one with his bare hands, and then, uh,
- 49:08Speaker 1: somebody came in to the like press booth where he
- 49:12Speaker 1: was at. I think it was like somebody very important
- 49:14Speaker 1: Saints owner or something, and they said that he just
- 49:17Speaker 1: went and shook his hand full of grease. That's right,
- 49:21Speaker 1: We're looking for two of the three tools from the
- 49:23Speaker 1: first Swiss Army Knife besides the blade. Are you able
- 49:28Speaker 1: to say how many? How many tools were on it total?
- 49:32Speaker 1: There were three tools? I need you to name two
- 49:34Speaker 1: of those three. Well, in the knife there was four.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Counting the knife, there were befour besides a blade, named
- 49:41Speaker 1: two of the three tools at the first Swiss Army
- 49:43Speaker 1: Knife had. How do you feel about this one? Steve's
- 49:47Speaker 1: just pretty strong, going to keep you in the lead. No, well,
- 49:51Speaker 1: I feel strong, Okay, No, I really need the last
- 49:55Speaker 1: question to be a doozy. These guys just flat out
- 49:59Speaker 1: con burrying over here, confirmed but even being whispered, they're consulting.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Does everybody have an answer? Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 50:14Speaker 1: We got Tommy saying spoon and flathead, Stephen saying screwdriver
- 50:18Speaker 1: and saw, Chris corkscrew and file, Pete saying corkscrew and screwdriver,
- 50:24Speaker 1: Steve saying corkscrew and scissors, Crean saying screwdriver and file.
- 50:30Speaker 1: The question, Tyler saying screwdriver and what's that saying the
- 50:37Speaker 1: screw pick, the screw pick, and David saying scissors and bottle. Opener,
- 50:43Speaker 1: I don't know if anybody got it. The correct answers
- 50:46Speaker 1: are reamer, screwdriver, and can or bottle opener. I don't
- 50:52Speaker 1: think anyway those things because like how many people need
- 50:55Speaker 1: to open wine? Like I felt like corkscrews are so
- 50:58Speaker 1: common on those things, you know, not not on the
- 51:00Speaker 1: first one. The first Swiss army knife was produced for
- 51:03Speaker 1: soldiers in the officers version came out six years later,
- 51:09Speaker 1: which included a second knife, blade, and corkscrew. More iterations
- 51:13Speaker 1: than the officers version. That will help that that doesn't
- 51:18Speaker 1: create division in the ranks, right. More modern iterations include saws, players, scissors, compasses, lights, tweezers, whistles, fish, scalers, files, pens,
- 51:28Speaker 1: and wire cutters. Did these guys had their launch eating
- 51:30Speaker 1: so bad by the other man? You know what I mean?
- 51:33Speaker 1: Just pass them off just like blewe did anybody get that? Right? Phil?
- 51:39Speaker 1: So we have no change to the scoreboard. We're onto
- 51:42Speaker 1: our final question, Question ten. The topic is conservation. Five
- 51:47Speaker 1: of America's ten tallest dams are found in this state
- 51:52Speaker 1: west of the Mississippi River. Five of America's ten tallest
- 51:59Speaker 1: dam are found in this state west of the Mississippi River.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Feel how many people do we have left in the game.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Everyone except for Pete, Karin and Tommy. Wow, can tie
- 52:13Speaker 1: it up right now. If Steve gets this wrong, it's
- 52:16Speaker 1: a good game one more time. Five of America's ten
- 52:18Speaker 1: tallest damns are found in this state west of the
- 52:22Speaker 1: Mississippi River. I love to see a map right now, Steve,
- 52:28Speaker 1: how you feel about this one? Rubbing his head. It's
- 52:32Speaker 1: one of those ones where I feel like I should know,
- 52:33Speaker 1: but it's like I just don't know. No, it's not
- 52:37Speaker 1: like that turd, duck and ship where I just pulled
- 52:39Speaker 1: it out of my Like, this feels like it should
- 52:44Speaker 1: be right there, right, but I'm trying to like figure
- 52:49Speaker 1: it out, but it seems like I should it would
- 52:50Speaker 1: just be just no. So we need Steve to get
- 52:53Speaker 1: it wrong. In the rest of the room to get
- 52:54Speaker 1: it right. Does everybody have an answer? I hope everyone's
- 52:57Speaker 1: wrong and I'm right. Five of America's ten tallest damns
- 53:01Speaker 1: are found in this state west of the Mississippi River.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We got Tommy saying Nevada,
- 53:07Speaker 1: Stephen saying California, Chris sang Utah, Pete saying Nevada. Steve
- 53:12Speaker 1: saying Washington, Karin saying South Dakota, Shawn saying Washington, Tyler
- 53:17Speaker 1: saying Oklahoma, and David saying California. We have a correct
- 53:22Speaker 1: answer in the room. It's California. Three way tie going
- 53:30Speaker 1: to overtime. What was it? It was California. California has
- 53:35Speaker 1: the first, fifth, sixth, eighth, and ninth tallest damns in
- 53:39Speaker 1: the country. The tallest damn is the Oraville Damn on
- 53:42Speaker 1: the Feather River at seven hundred seventy feet tall. It's
- 53:45Speaker 1: forty four ft higher than the Hoover Dam, which is
- 53:49Speaker 1: in second place. I don't know the other four. You
- 53:51Speaker 1: see my line of reasoning though, right, all those big
- 53:53Speaker 1: dams on the Columbia I think everybody had a reasonable
- 53:56Speaker 1: guest there holding with California. It's called slaying a drought.
- 54:00Speaker 1: So I was like, they gotta have it, and it's
- 54:04Speaker 1: biggest state. You mean, like because they need to retain
- 54:07Speaker 1: more water. Yeah, so fill who do we have going
- 54:11Speaker 1: to overtime in this three way tie? We got the
- 54:15Speaker 1: two Steves and David Peterson. David Peterson, how this works?
- 54:20Speaker 1: Explain how overtime work? We have one final question, and
- 54:25Speaker 1: this is a numerical question. Whoever is closest to the
- 54:29Speaker 1: right answer will be declared our winner. Just none of this,
- 54:34Speaker 1: like none of this like without going over bullshit, just
- 54:36Speaker 1: like the closest. If everyone else wants to play along,
- 54:39Speaker 1: you're welcome to your first last. We don't make any
- 54:47Speaker 1: sense at all. First your laft. You can be, second,
- 54:50Speaker 1: you can be third, fourth, hell you five. The topic
- 54:55Speaker 1: is conservation according to the U. S d A. How
- 55:00Speaker 1: many states have confirmed populations of feral hoggs as of one?
- 55:08Speaker 1: According to the U s d A, how many states
- 55:12Speaker 1: have confirmed populations of feral hogs as of one? Are
- 55:19Speaker 1: you counting on your fingers over there, Steve? On the
- 55:22Speaker 1: rune them down? Okay? Confirmed? According to the U s
- 55:29Speaker 1: d A. How many states have confirmed populations of ferrell
- 55:32Speaker 1: hogs as of Stephen? How you feeling about this one?
- 55:36Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. It's like a thirty eight percent chance.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Thirty percent chance. That look good on you if you
- 55:44Speaker 1: feel thirty eight percent confident? Steve, how you doing over there?
- 55:51Speaker 1: I don't want I really want to distract here. I'm
- 55:54Speaker 1: not feeling I'm not feeling terrible, but I'm not gonna
- 55:59Speaker 1: I'm gassing uh huh, and I have theories about whether
- 56:03Speaker 1: i'd want to go right through. Sure. Now, David, you
- 56:08Speaker 1: declared yourself the newest hunter in the room, and now
- 56:12Speaker 1: here you are at the tiebreaker. How are you feeling
- 56:14Speaker 1: about this one? Do you think you're doing? Okay? I mean,
- 56:17Speaker 1: I got a guess, but I don't. I don't know
- 56:19Speaker 1: if I have any chance. Now you're you're basically competing
- 56:22Speaker 1: about three of your teammates on this couch, competing against them.
- 56:26Speaker 1: They're all sharing answers. Yeah, you got an answer. We're
- 56:30Speaker 1: gonna reveal here soon if you're ready. I'm ready. But
- 56:32Speaker 1: if not, honestly sit here in Dame every damn say
- 56:34Speaker 1: you have an answer and scratch Steve, you have an answer. Yeah,
- 56:37Speaker 1: I got an answer. Okay, Ready, go ahead and reveal
- 56:42Speaker 1: your answers. Get Steven saying thirty two, Steve saying thirty five,
- 56:47Speaker 1: and David saying twelve. One of you got it right
- 56:51Speaker 1: on the nose, the correct answer. It's thirty five. Are
- 57:04Speaker 1: very humble winner, a great He gave us too much time, man,
- 57:12Speaker 1: I was able to make a little America because here's
- 57:18Speaker 1: a deal. It's like it's there's like some real sleeper
- 57:21Speaker 1: wild pig populations. Yea, you know about it. And then
- 57:26Speaker 1: I had thirty one and I forgot about Hawaii or
- 57:29Speaker 1: Hawa and sorry to add it, and then I still
- 57:32Speaker 1: lost great guesses though to donate an honor in honor
- 57:38Speaker 1: of my friend Peter Lansongo, donate to Captain's for Clean Water?
- 57:42Speaker 1: And and why is that in on piece in Florida?
- 57:45Speaker 1: He fishes in Florida. He wants to catch a tarpin
- 57:47Speaker 1: and I actually landed, And um so I think that
- 57:51Speaker 1: everglades restoration and water quality around Florida will continue to
- 57:55Speaker 1: matter for Pizza Loco Captain's for Clean Water. I like it.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Are you guys worried all that tonight? You're gonna be
- 57:59Speaker 1: up too bad? And just like be messing with you
- 58:02Speaker 1: in your head that you didn't get Tasmanian Tiger and
- 58:05Speaker 1: it's gonna distract you? Is Buck Show Walter gonna be
- 58:08Speaker 1: okay with this? I hope I'm a Tasmanian tiger in
- 58:10Speaker 1: the fucking box today. That's good. Good. You can't can.
- 58:14Speaker 1: It's hard to get a better nickname than polar bear,
- 58:16Speaker 1: but Tasmanian tiger would be right up there. That's pretty sick.
- 58:21Speaker 1: I don't want you extinct in the batter's box. It's
- 58:28Speaker 1: if he bombs the beginning of the game, it comes back,
- 58:30Speaker 1: he'll be Lazarus. Pete Man, that's right, that's right, Pete, Chris, Dave, Tommy,
- 58:36Speaker 1: Steve Tyler, thank you for joining us. There's a lot
- 58:39Speaker 1: of fun. Look forward to the game tonight. Uh, I've
- 58:41Speaker 1: been doing an MLB game in a minute. It's gonna
- 58:43Speaker 1: be fun. Steve hasn't been to one in a while either. Steve,
- 58:45Speaker 1: you excited. I am very much excited. Especially we have
- 58:49Speaker 1: uh good enough seats where I can I can see
- 58:51Speaker 1: some of the intricate interplay. Yeah, the intricate interplay you've done,
- 58:55Speaker 1: understand yea, but just like no there, I like not there.
- 58:58Speaker 1: I like to catch like the antsws and steely eyes
- 59:01Speaker 1: and yeah, we like rub elbows with people and be like, hey,
- 59:04Speaker 1: we played trivia with them this morning. So you who
- 59:07Speaker 1: the Dazmanian Tiger? So who are you rooting for? I
- 59:10Speaker 1: know that not to put you on the spot for
- 59:12Speaker 1: you guys, Okay, just flat out because you guys are
- 59:17Speaker 1: talking with Austin Austin Riley tomorrow. Really good guy. Avid
- 59:21Speaker 1: Outdoorsman I don't know where. If you guys get me
- 59:24Speaker 1: some some like a hat or something, I gonna wear
- 59:26Speaker 1: it when I do that. Are you guys coming to
- 59:29Speaker 1: bp our batting practice? I don't know, are we? Oh yeah, sick? Awesome?
- 59:35Speaker 1: Root for you guys? Man alright, Like, tell anybody again,
- 59:43Speaker 1: thanks for playing. Join us next time for more meat.
- 59:45Speaker 1: Eat Trivia, the only game show where conservation always wins
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: to the character f
