- 1:31Speaker 2: We also have to stand here behind the board. I'm gonna
- 1:33Speaker 2: keep saying your name because it'll help me remember it
- 1:35Speaker 2: the more I say it.
- 1:36Speaker 7: I appreciate it that way. You're not just saying that, and.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Trust me, I argue that.
- 1:41Speaker 8: Dude.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It took me like a year to learn everybody's name here.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I think like it takes me a while, so so
- 1:45Speaker 2: don't get mad at me, please.
- 1:47Speaker 7: You're good.
- 1:47Speaker 8: Yeah, anytime you talked to me, you just said, hey you.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Is that actually what I did? That's probably what I did.
- 1:52Speaker 7: Actually, if I don't know anybody's name, I'm like, hey, bro.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it sounds like something I would do. Anyways, we're
- 1:58Speaker 2: gonna play a little game here, okay, to start the
- 2:00Speaker 2: five o'clock hour. Are you both familiar with the game
- 2:03Speaker 2: Two Truths and a Lie?
- 2:04Speaker 5: Ye?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yes, Here's how it works. Okay, just in case anybody
- 2:07Speaker 2: that's listening right now doesn't know what the game is,
- 2:10Speaker 2: it's the Aggie Athlete Edition. So I'm going to tell
- 2:13Speaker 2: you an athlete and then I am going to read
- 2:16Speaker 2: you three facts about them. Two of the facts will
- 2:19Speaker 2: be true, one of them will be a lie. Your
- 2:22Speaker 2: job is to sniff out which one is the lie.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Some of them will probably be very easy, others maybe
- 2:28Speaker 2: not so much. I will keep the score between both
- 2:31Speaker 2: of you and we will see which one of you
- 2:33Speaker 2: ends up winning. And hopefully I didn't make them so
- 2:35Speaker 2: easy that you'll both just like completely run the table
- 2:37Speaker 2: on me here.
- 2:39Speaker 8: If that happens, then we get to ask you a question,
- 2:42Speaker 8: yeah in the next segment.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and these all reside in the sports of football
- 2:47Speaker 2: and basketball. I think I have one actually women's basketball
- 2:49Speaker 2: player on here. I did put any baseball on here,
- 2:51Speaker 2: which you pointed out before we came on the air.
- 2:54Speaker 2: That was definitely a bit of an oversight by me,
- 2:57Speaker 2: so disappointing anyways, So we will start with the first
- 3:00Speaker 2: player I have on here, Von Miller. And by the way,
- 3:03Speaker 2: all of these are going to be like two thousand
- 3:05Speaker 2: and five or later, so I'm not gonna like rewind
- 3:07Speaker 2: this way back into the past. We're gonna start I don't.
- 3:10Speaker 8: Want to hear about John David Crow's Heisman season back
- 3:13Speaker 8: in nineteen fifty.
- 3:16Speaker 9: Do.
- 3:17Speaker 2: No, We're not. We're not going to touch on that.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Don't worry. We are going to start with Von Miller. Okay,
- 3:22Speaker 2: So I'm gonna read you the three facts and then
- 3:24Speaker 2: when I'm done, you tell me which one is the lie?
- 3:27Speaker 2: So number one von Miller. While at Texas A and M,
- 3:31Speaker 2: he majored in poultry science and grew up raising chickens
- 3:35Speaker 2: in DeSoto. Number two, Okay, Von Miller has a ridiculously
- 3:40Speaker 2: strict diet timeline and refuses to eat dinner any later
- 3:43Speaker 2: than nine PM during his training regimens. Number three. He
- 3:47Speaker 2: originally walked on to the Texas A and M track
- 3:50Speaker 2: team before Dennis Francioni recruited him to play football.
- 3:56Speaker 7: Can you repeat number one?
- 3:57Speaker 2: Please? Yeah? While at Texas A and M, he majored
- 3:59Speaker 2: in poultry science and grew up raising chickens in Desto.
- 4:03Speaker 8: Al Right, I think I have my answer.
- 4:04Speaker 7: All right?
- 4:04Speaker 2: What do you think is the lie?
- 4:06Speaker 8: Do you have yours? Are we gonna cheat off each other?
- 4:08Speaker 7: None?
- 4:10Speaker 8: All right, there's no way. It's number The Three's got
- 4:13Speaker 8: to be the lie.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Okay, I was.
- 4:14Speaker 7: Gonna say the same thing, Number three.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Okay, number three is the lie. You are both correct?
- 4:18Speaker 10: All right?
- 4:19Speaker 5: Yea?
- 4:19Speaker 2: These will be easy okay, just with his build right, like, yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 2: there's no way he would be a track player, right.
- 4:25Speaker 8: Like I mean devon a chant. Oh well, maybe I
- 4:28Speaker 8: shouldn't spoil that. It could be a question later. I
- 4:33Speaker 8: wasn't reading ahead of premise.
- 4:34Speaker 2: No, that's true. I didn't would. By the way, you
- 4:37Speaker 2: didn't have to do this, but I will give you
- 4:38Speaker 2: props for closing your laptop like trying to be a.
- 4:42Speaker 8: Stands trying to run the board and do this game
- 4:44Speaker 8: at the same time. So I feel like it's not
- 4:46Speaker 8: fair I have all right.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Number two is another football player, Miles Garrett.
- 4:52Speaker 8: All right, probably the best player in the NFL right now?
- 4:55Speaker 2: Yeah, here is okay? So here are three facts for
- 4:59Speaker 2: Miles gar A. Number one, he was a classically trained
- 5:02Speaker 2: concert pianist in high school, and they call his nerves
- 5:07Speaker 2: before games. That's honestly. I hope that's true too. He
- 5:12Speaker 2: writes his own poetry, sketching out his feelings about love, happiness,
- 5:17Speaker 2: and sadness. Number three, he seriously considered turning down Texas
- 5:22Speaker 2: A and M to attend a different school, specifically because
- 5:25Speaker 2: of their paleontology program.
- 5:27Speaker 8: What literally, so are there's a trick question in here?
- 5:33Speaker 8: Somewhere in there you said two truths in a lie?
- 5:37Speaker 8: So are you breaking your rules?
- 5:39Speaker 10: No?
- 5:39Speaker 8: Okay?
- 5:40Speaker 2: The things you heard are true. One of them is
- 5:42Speaker 2: a wow.
- 5:43Speaker 8: That's a really.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And I asked, if you want me to feel eat
- 5:47Speaker 2: any of them to you just tell.
- 5:48Speaker 8: Me, okay, So I feel like number two is the
- 5:50Speaker 8: most likely to be true. The poetry one, I don't know.
- 5:55Speaker 8: There's something about that one makes sense?
- 5:57Speaker 7: Okay, but what was the first one?
- 5:58Speaker 4: Again?
- 5:58Speaker 7: I'm gonna keep on asking.
- 5:59Speaker 2: He was a classically trained concert pianist high school and
- 6:03Speaker 2: still plays Beethoven to calm his nose. That's a lie.
- 6:09Speaker 8: If you wouldn't have said the thing about paleontology, number
- 6:12Speaker 8: I would have said, all right, well number three is true.
- 6:13Speaker 8: But I kind of want to go different just to.
- 6:17Speaker 2: You don't have to pick whatever you want. Don't feel
- 6:19Speaker 2: any pressure to answer either of you. Don't feel any
- 6:21Speaker 2: pressure to answer differently.
- 6:22Speaker 8: Bas I'm gonna go number one. I just can't see
- 6:25Speaker 8: both of the piano and the poetry being true.
- 6:29Speaker 2: So you're saying number one is the lie? And then
- 6:32Speaker 2: what are you saying? Say number one? Y'all are correct? Again?
- 6:35Speaker 8: Yes, the poetry. I think we're just going to beat
- 6:37Speaker 8: your game. Man.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Look, you might you how many of these are there?
- 6:41Speaker 2: There's ten, So we're through number two. But yes, he
- 6:43Speaker 2: does write his own poetry.
- 6:46Speaker 8: Okay, mag I want to know what the other team,
- 6:49Speaker 8: the other school was that had a good paleontology program.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I didn't write that on here, but uh, I'm sure
- 6:55Speaker 2: you can look at online.
- 6:58Speaker 10: Now.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Uh, this one will probably be pretty easy because it's
- 7:02Speaker 2: it's Alex Caruso.
- 7:03Speaker 8: Okay, bald mamba.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Number one, he is the only player in SEC
- 7:08Speaker 2: history to rack up over a thousand points, six hundred assists,
- 7:11Speaker 2: two hundred fifty steals, and five hundred rebounds.
- 7:14Speaker 8: Hundred rebounds. Okay, number two.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Despite how good defensively he was, he never actually won
- 7:19Speaker 2: SEC Defensive Player of the Year while playing for A
- 7:22Speaker 2: and M.
- 7:22Speaker 8: That's probably true because.
- 7:24Speaker 2: And then number three, he was named the Texas A
- 7:27Speaker 2: and M Male Athlete of the Year in twenty sixteen.
- 7:31Speaker 8: Twenty sixteen, that was the Miles Garrett year. I'm pretty
- 7:35Speaker 8: sure number three, Okay, number three, I think that was
- 7:38Speaker 8: the Miles Garrett year. Otherwise I would have probably let
- 7:42Speaker 8: that one slide. Hmm. Okay, that's where it gets difficult
- 7:47Speaker 8: for me because I can't remember. Or maybe twenty fifteen
- 7:50Speaker 8: was the Miles Garrett year. That's that's my main hang
- 7:54Speaker 8: up right now. Okay, because I know A and M
- 7:58Speaker 8: football wasn't that great in twenty six we were pretty mid.
- 8:02Speaker 8: But I can't remember if that was Miles last season. Okay,
- 8:07Speaker 8: you know what, what was the first The first one
- 8:11Speaker 8: was the only player to do all those stats. Okay,
- 8:13Speaker 8: you don't have to read off the stats. Okay, I'm
- 8:18Speaker 8: gonna go. You said number two was he hasn't won.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Miles, I'm sorry. Alex Caruso uh never actually won
- 8:26Speaker 2: SEC Defensive Player of the Year.
- 8:28Speaker 8: Okay. Oh man, this is tough. I feel like it'd
- 8:35Speaker 8: be boring to just go with what you said, especially
- 8:37Speaker 8: since you already answered. I kind of I feel like
- 8:42Speaker 8: I should go different though, But I really think twenty
- 8:46Speaker 8: sixteen was the Miles Garrett year, so I have to
- 8:48Speaker 8: go number three being the lie.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Okay, uh he was actually named Texas A and M
- 8:54Speaker 2: man year. Okay, in twenty sixteen.
- 8:57Speaker 7: When was the Miles Garrett year.
- 9:00Speaker 8: Must have been twenty fifteen, That's what I was thinking.
- 9:02Speaker 8: Let me look that up and see, because there's no
- 9:03Speaker 8: way Miles Garrett was on the team or was playing
- 9:06Speaker 8: Aggie football and didn't win Male Athlete of the year.
- 9:11Speaker 8: There's no way.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I don't know. According to this, it says Miles Garrett
- 9:15Speaker 2: was not specifically named a Texas A and M Athlete
- 9:17Speaker 2: of the Year.
- 9:18Speaker 8: Well that's a crime. What are we doing? How did that?
- 9:24Speaker 8: I mean? I guess maybe postseason performance might have something
- 9:27Speaker 8: to do with it. Yeah, fourteen to sixteen he was
- 9:30Speaker 8: an All American.
- 9:31Speaker 7: And yeah, it says that he did not win touch
- 9:34Speaker 7: not a.
- 9:35Speaker 8: Male Athlete of the Year. How was he not once?
- 9:38Speaker 8: That's ridiculous. Okay, well well I'll take that.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Okay, what's and what was your answer?
- 9:44Speaker 7: We both said number three?
- 9:45Speaker 2: Okay, well, yeah, y'all were number three? Was true? Was
- 9:48Speaker 2: number two?
- 9:49Speaker 8: Dang it? I thought about doing that year. Okay, well
- 9:53Speaker 8: that's y'all. At should I should have gone with that?
- 9:56Speaker 8: That was my first guess.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Well here we'll do another basketball player, so maybe you
- 9:59Speaker 2: can redeem yourself.
- 10:00Speaker 5: This is it?
- 10:00Speaker 8: Need some differentia. We're still tied.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, DeAndre Jordan Oh.
- 10:05Speaker 8: Number one, he eats a everybody's favorite New Orleans Pelican.
- 10:08Speaker 2: He eats a strict plant based diet, favoring dishes like
- 10:12Speaker 2: fluffy omelets made with plant based eggs. Number two, in
- 10:15Speaker 2: the summer of twenty twenty. He actually enrolled at Brown
- 10:18Speaker 2: University to complete a degree in contemplative studies. Number three.
- 10:22Speaker 2: During one of his during his one season playing for
- 10:25Speaker 2: the Aggies, he set the school record for most consecutive
- 10:28Speaker 2: free throws made.
- 10:30Speaker 8: There's no way.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I told you some of these would
- 10:34Speaker 2: be really easy.
- 10:35Speaker 8: This feels like a trap. Okay, but there's no way
- 10:40Speaker 8: he did that. There's no Okay. I'm so in my
- 10:44Speaker 8: head right now too, because if you wouldn't have said
- 10:48Speaker 8: some of these, if you wouldn't have said what you
- 10:50Speaker 8: just said about them being easy, I would have said that.
- 10:53Speaker 8: But now you're making me doubt myself, okay, because I
- 10:56Speaker 8: also can't see DeAndre Jordan eating only plants, to be honest,
- 11:01Speaker 8: look at that, dude. There's no way he's just eat plan.
- 11:04Speaker 11: Say.
- 11:04Speaker 7: Number one is a lie because I just don't see
- 11:07Speaker 7: him just eating only plants.
- 11:08Speaker 8: Man, This is you know what I'm not gonna overthink it.
- 11:12Speaker 8: Number three is to lie.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Correct bang number three? Yeah, DeAndre Jordan did transition to
- 11:20Speaker 2: a fully place when Yeah, let me see, because I
- 11:24Speaker 2: feel like that could. Yeah.
- 11:27Speaker 8: Yeah, here's a Q and A I bet it's like
- 11:29Speaker 8: within the last five years.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yeah, let me see when this. Uh, I don't know
- 11:33Speaker 2: when this article was posted, but as of when this
- 11:36Speaker 2: was posted, he said he had done it six years ago,
- 11:37Speaker 2: So it's been at least six years.
- 11:39Speaker 8: Okay, impressive. Yeah, it's kind of wild that he's that
- 11:43Speaker 8: jacked and okay, well, good for him, I guess.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Yeah. But yeah, so which which one of you got
- 11:50Speaker 2: that right?
- 11:50Speaker 8: I got it right?
- 11:51Speaker 2: Okay, So Caleb got that? Okay, so Caleb currently has
- 11:54Speaker 2: the lead? Maybe all right, Johnny Manziel, Yeah, this one.
- 12:02Speaker 8: This are a lot of facts about this man.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yeah, well this one?
- 12:07Speaker 8: Uh, which you want to bet he says something about
- 12:10Speaker 8: golfing in this question?
- 12:13Speaker 12: No, there's no.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Golfing in here.
- 12:14Speaker 8: Dang.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Number one. In twenty twelve, he became the very first
- 12:17Speaker 2: freshman in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Number two, the Johnny football nickname, actually gained attraction during
- 12:25Speaker 2: A and M practices before he had even been officially
- 12:28Speaker 2: named the starting quarterback. Number three. He currently holds the
- 12:32Speaker 2: all time A and M career records for passing yards, completions,
- 12:35Speaker 2: and passing touchdowns.
- 12:37Speaker 7: Number twos A lie.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Number two is a lie?
- 12:40Speaker 8: You know I have I do know what the correct
- 12:44Speaker 8: answer is here, Okay, And it's really funny because the
- 12:48Speaker 8: man that owns those passing records was definitely not the
- 12:54Speaker 8: best tex An m quarterback of all time. But you
- 12:57Speaker 8: know what he was was the most consistent tent starter
- 13:01Speaker 8: and who started for four years. Young man by the
- 13:05Speaker 8: name of Kellen Mond owns those records. Number three is
- 13:07Speaker 8: the lie.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Caleb is correct now. At the time, even when Johnny
- 13:12Speaker 2: Manziel after he finished playing, it was Gera Johnson owned the.
- 13:16Speaker 8: Record because Johnny only started for what you.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Just said, ended up taking that from him. So Manziel
- 13:21Speaker 2: sits at number three currently. Oh, I believe he sits.
- 13:24Speaker 8: I think he's number two in some stats. Maybe it's
- 13:27Speaker 8: not those, okay, But I remember when Kellen Mond broke
- 13:29Speaker 8: those records and I was like that, this feels so
- 13:31Speaker 8: wrong that he Yeah, no fense, Kellmont, right, no fence Kelmont.
- 13:35Speaker 8: He was on tech egs today really, and I yeah,
- 13:39Speaker 8: he's very solidly good game manager. He was perfect for
- 13:45Speaker 8: the Jim Boat system. I think I would have it
- 13:47Speaker 8: would have been interested to see what he would have
- 13:49Speaker 8: done with a guy like Colin Klein as his coordinator.
- 13:52Speaker 8: But he was very solid quarterback. Never was like super flashy,
- 13:56Speaker 8: but also you were never just sitting there scratching your head,
- 13:59Speaker 8: like how'd you throw that ball? Most of the time.
- 14:01Speaker 8: I mean every quarterback, every college quarterback, has some of those.
- 14:04Speaker 8: But he was very just like dependably fine. You know. Yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 8: he was never just he was never going to have
- 14:13Speaker 8: like terrible games, and he would have some games where
- 14:15Speaker 8: he would go off. Just dependably solid quarterback. Yeah, so
- 14:19Speaker 8: and he started for four years.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Well, another football player here, Mike Evans. Number one. He
- 14:27Speaker 2: earned consensus All American honors his sophomore year after recording
- 14:31Speaker 2: a school record of nearly fourteen hundred receiving yards. Number two.
- 14:36Speaker 2: He holds nearly every major receiving record for the Tampa
- 14:39Speaker 2: Bay Buccaneers, including career receptions, yards against touchdowns. Number three.
- 14:43Speaker 2: He briefly played point guard for the Texas and m
- 14:46Speaker 2: basketball team his freshman year before Kevin Sumlin told him
- 14:50Speaker 2: to focus solely on football.
- 14:53Speaker 8: See the wording of that is important because earlier what
- 14:56Speaker 8: you said about von Miller, when you said Dennis free
- 15:00Speaker 8: Joni convinced him to play football instead of track, that
- 15:03Speaker 8: kind of gave it away. But you're saying focus on football.
- 15:07Speaker 8: That makes that one more believable for sure. Okay, I
- 15:11Speaker 8: know it's not. Number two is definitely true. Okay, I
- 15:14Speaker 8: can't think of another Bugs receiver that was.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Number one, as he earned consensus All American honors his
- 15:21Speaker 2: sophomore year after recording a school record of nearly fourteen
- 15:24Speaker 2: hundred receiving yards.
- 15:25Speaker 8: So did he have another year with Johnny? I thought
- 15:28Speaker 8: it was just the one.
- 15:31Speaker 2: His sophomore year was twenty thirteen. I believe that can't
- 15:36Speaker 2: be right.
- 15:38Speaker 8: That Cam.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I I could check and verify that. I think it
- 15:41Speaker 2: was twenty thirteen.
- 15:42Speaker 8: It had to have been twenty twelve.
- 15:43Speaker 2: We look at Sports Reference here. If I can get
- 15:45Speaker 2: that to pull up quickly.
- 15:46Speaker 8: Enough, it had to have been twenty twelve, because that
- 15:49Speaker 8: was the year that Johnny had the.
- 15:50Speaker 2: No, he was a freshman, twenty twelve. He was a
- 15:53Speaker 2: fresh he was Mike Savins was a freshman, Yes he was.
- 15:55Speaker 8: Wow, he looked like that as a freshman.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yeah, right right here, Mike Evans twenty thirteen. This is
- 16:00Speaker 2: sophomore year.
- 16:01Speaker 8: This was a little hard And now I think I
- 16:03Speaker 8: have my answer because of that. Okay, but I'm gonna
- 16:06Speaker 8: wait for Stan. I don't want to give it away.
- 16:11Speaker 7: I'm gonna say number one is the lie?
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, sophomore and what do.
- 16:15Speaker 8: You think I'm gonna say it's number three?
- 16:20Speaker 2: Caleb is correct? Did it is number three?
- 16:23Speaker 8: Yeah? I was gonna say, because if he was a
- 16:25Speaker 8: freshman playing basketball, there's no way he would have balled
- 16:28Speaker 8: out the way.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Mike Evins had one thy three hundred and ninety
- 16:31Speaker 2: four receiving yards in his sophomore year.
- 16:34Speaker 8: Oh so it was just the fourteen hundred thing that
- 16:36Speaker 8: was wrong.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I said nearly fourteen hundred, but that that's the exact number.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Ok yeah, nearly fourteen hundred.
- 16:44Speaker 8: So what was the lie?
- 16:45Speaker 2: The lie was that he briefly played point guard for Okay, okay,
- 16:49Speaker 2: so we're still good, all right?
- 16:50Speaker 8: I got turned around.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Although he did play basketball in high school.
- 16:53Speaker 8: Yeah no, I believe that he's a good.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Boy, and he does hold all those very he does
- 16:57Speaker 2: hold all those records for the Buccaneers.
- 16:58Speaker 8: Yeah no, that's I think that was definitely the most, uh,
- 17:02Speaker 8: the least surprising one, all right, because he's the most
- 17:04Speaker 8: consistent Bucks receiver.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Volt We'll go Chris, Chris Middleton number one.
- 17:09Speaker 8: See this is I'm probably not gonna get this one.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Number one, he was the first A and M basketball
- 17:13Speaker 2: alumni to be named a multiple NBA All Star Games.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Number two, in twenty twenty one, he joined an elite
- 17:18Speaker 2: club of players by winning an NBA championship and an
- 17:21Speaker 2: Olympic gold medal in the exact same year.
- 17:25Speaker 8: That's true.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Number three. He was a highly touted lottery pick, selected
- 17:29Speaker 2: in the top ten of the twenty twelve NBA draft.
- 17:32Speaker 8: Yeah, I think Middleton was just randomly on that Olympic team.
- 17:35Speaker 8: I think that's true. Okay, was he a lottery pick?
- 17:44Speaker 8: Has he made multiple All Star teams? Chris Middleton? I mean,
- 17:48Speaker 8: he's fine, but multiple All Star teams seems a little strong.
- 17:55Speaker 8: I would have thought Dean Andre Jordan would have got
- 17:57Speaker 8: that before him, but I guess because they're about the
- 18:00Speaker 8: same age. I would definitely think DeAndre Jordan would have
- 18:05Speaker 8: should have done that first, just because of the Lob
- 18:07Speaker 8: City Clippers.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Right, So what's your answer?
- 18:11Speaker 8: Yeah, I'll go first this time. That's fair. Chris Middleton
- 18:15Speaker 8: A lottery pick, that seems I'm a little skeptical on that,
- 18:18Speaker 8: but I think I am gonna go number one being
- 18:21Speaker 8: the lie.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Okay, I feel like it's a lottery pick, So you're
- 18:25Speaker 2: going with number three? Stan is correct? Okay, number thirty
- 18:30Speaker 2: nine by the Detroit Pistons.
- 18:32Speaker 8: Not even a first round No, no, he.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Was not even a first rounder. And he is a
- 18:35Speaker 2: three time All Star.
- 18:37Speaker 8: How many does DeAndre Jordan have?
- 18:39Speaker 2: I'm sure it's more than that. It's gotta be more
- 18:40Speaker 2: Dedre Jordan All Star years me, so, I guess Middleton
- 18:44Speaker 2: just is older DeAndre Jordan really? Okay, well only twenty seventeen,
- 18:50Speaker 2: just one.
- 18:51Speaker 8: DeAndre Jordan only has one of them.
- 18:54Speaker 2: That's actually shocking to me. What are we doing? What
- 18:56Speaker 2: has a one time NBA All Stars? There's no respect
- 19:00Speaker 2: Lop City Clippers. That okay, I'm actually shocked.
- 19:02Speaker 8: The Lop City Clippers are one of the most fun
- 19:04Speaker 8: teams to watch and nobody cares for some reason. None
- 19:07Speaker 8: didn't winning.
- 19:08Speaker 2: That's actually crazy.
- 19:09Speaker 8: CP three, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan was some of
- 19:12Speaker 8: the most fun basketball to watch anyway, just because of
- 19:18Speaker 8: the high flying that's number seven three, So I'm up
- 19:22Speaker 8: by two.
- 19:24Speaker 7: By one?
- 19:24Speaker 13: One?
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you're up by one. Stand you got
- 19:27Speaker 2: that one wrong. Let's see you three four five correct?
- 19:30Speaker 2: Stan has one two, one two three correct? Okay, maybe
- 19:34Speaker 2: two point lead, just like the Rangers. Okay, so Christian Kirk.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Christian Kirk Number one lived up to his five star
- 19:46Speaker 2: recruiting hype immediately by returning a kickoff for a touchdown
- 19:49Speaker 2: in his very first career college game. Number two, he
- 19:53Speaker 2: notoriously likes to drink liver shakes for health and performance.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Number three he was famously named Baby Kyle during his time.
- 20:01Speaker 7: In college station Baby Kyler, as in Kyler Murray.
- 20:05Speaker 2: What I will not elaborate. That's fair.
- 20:08Speaker 8: That's so specific, man, that's weird. I don't like that.
- 20:14Speaker 8: That's just one of those that like sounds like gibberous.
- 20:16Speaker 8: But because it's so specific, I feel like it might
- 20:18Speaker 8: be true your man. Okay, So I'm I'm almost positive
- 20:27Speaker 8: that number one is true. Okay, the liver shakes one
- 20:32Speaker 8: is interesting. I feel like you'd be more likely to
- 20:37Speaker 8: make that up than Baby Kyler. So I'm gonna go
- 20:39Speaker 8: number two. Number two being the lie.
- 20:43Speaker 7: Okay, the same thing.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Okay, y'all are both incorrect. Baby Kyler made that up,
- 20:50Speaker 2: known as Baby Beckham. Oh, during you just made up
- 20:55Speaker 2: Baby Kyler. Yeah, okay, all right, just come with a
- 21:00Speaker 2: random name, right, Well, yeah, fair basketball.
- 21:04Speaker 8: That would have made Yeah, why do we That doesn't
- 21:06Speaker 8: make any sense at all. Yeah, that's why I didn't
- 21:09Speaker 8: pick it, though, because I've anyway, well.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Here's women's basketball, Sidney Carter.
- 21:15Speaker 8: Yeah, we're cooked.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I wanted to have at.
- 21:18Speaker 8: Least one that I'm gonna I'm gonna starts at the dark. Yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 8: I'm gonna you know, actually I'm not.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Number one Sydney Carter. She helped lead the Aggies to
- 21:29Speaker 2: a national championship and won the team's Miss Defense Award
- 21:33Speaker 2: three times, number two. Despite her Aggie roots, she went
- 21:36Speaker 2: on to serve as the director of player development for
- 21:39Speaker 2: the University of Texas women's basketball team number three. After
- 21:44Speaker 2: a stellar college career, she went undrafted and had to
- 21:47Speaker 2: fight her way onto a w NBA roster through open tryouts.
- 21:54Speaker 2: When did she play a m I think I think
- 21:59Speaker 2: around twenty eleven.
- 22:00Speaker 8: Okay, because I was gonna say, I'm gonna be completely honest,
- 22:03Speaker 8: no idea who Sydney Carter is?
- 22:05Speaker 2: Okay, that's that's no idea.
- 22:09Speaker 8: Okay, Like not a clue, not a clue. The only
- 22:13Speaker 8: name you could have said related to women's basketball that
- 22:15Speaker 8: I would have known is Gary Blair.
- 22:18Speaker 7: So so basically the instruces are was with the national
- 22:25Speaker 7: championship team, went to Texas to work or undropped it
- 22:29Speaker 7: in the w BBA.
- 22:29Speaker 8: Okay, I'm gonna get mope. Sorry, all right, I guess
- 22:36Speaker 8: I'll go first, Lenna, go b Okay, Caleb, I'm gonna go. Okay,
- 22:45Speaker 8: So I know they won a national championship and I
- 22:48Speaker 8: think it was around that time. That sounds right, Okay.
- 22:55Speaker 8: I don't know the numbers. I feel like I've I
- 23:00Speaker 8: feel like in w NBA it's very like straightforward as
- 23:04Speaker 8: far as who the top draft picks are. So if
- 23:07Speaker 8: she did have a stellar college career, I'm gonna go
- 23:09Speaker 8: number Three's a lie.
- 23:11Speaker 2: You're good at critical thinking, that is correct. You should
- 23:14Speaker 2: have gone with like what you said, see Stan Taylor
- 23:17Speaker 2: is carect I guess Wow, yeah, you are correct.
- 23:22Speaker 8: That's crazy.
- 23:23Speaker 2: She was drafted in the third round by the Chicago
- 23:27Speaker 2: Sky and she did go to work at the Texas
- 23:30Speaker 2: University of Texas. Actually I think just left to go
- 23:32Speaker 2: work at Auburn.
- 23:34Speaker 8: Wow, Like I know, I know all about Sydney Carter.
- 23:37Speaker 8: What are you talking about?
- 23:38Speaker 2: Well, final player for this game will be Ryan Tannehill,
- 23:42Speaker 2: oh football player Ryan Tannehill. Number one. He graduated cum
- 23:47Speaker 2: laude with a degree in biology and earned Athletics Scholar
- 23:51Speaker 2: honors four times. Number two he is the early player
- 23:54Speaker 2: in FBS history to record more than three thousand passing
- 23:58Speaker 2: yards and fifteen hundred receiving yards in a career.
- 24:01Speaker 8: Number three three thousand yards. I don't know about that one.
- 24:04Speaker 2: He was originally recruited to play safety for the defense
- 24:07Speaker 2: before switching to offense.
- 24:08Speaker 8: Sure, why not, So that's true.
- 24:11Speaker 7: Number three is a lot.
- 24:12Speaker 5: Wait.
- 24:12Speaker 8: Wait, then that's not what I meant. Okay, that's not
- 24:14Speaker 8: what I meant.
- 24:15Speaker 7: I'm still going with number three.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:17Speaker 8: I don't know that he got three thousand passing yards
- 24:19Speaker 8: because I think he only started for one season as
- 24:21Speaker 8: a quarterback. Hmm. That one's tough. The safety one, I
- 24:28Speaker 8: somewhat believe, because I feel like he was just an athlete,
- 24:32Speaker 8: you know, and that's why he and he ended up
- 24:34Speaker 8: at quarterback.
- 24:36Speaker 7: I don't know. I feel like it's kind of hard
- 24:37Speaker 7: to go from a safety to a quarterback, especially on it.
- 24:41Speaker 8: I mean, depending on what high school he went to,
- 24:43Speaker 8: he probably played all of them. I mean, I assume
- 24:47Speaker 8: I don't actually know this. I would assume he played
- 24:48Speaker 8: quarterback in high school at least some and a lot
- 24:53Speaker 8: of high school quarterbacks get recruited to play other positions,
- 24:57Speaker 8: like Terry Bussy, I think I'm gonna go number two
- 25:05Speaker 8: is the lie?
- 25:07Speaker 2: Okay? And what are you going with? That's number three?
- 25:09Speaker 2: Stantus correct, Ah, okay, yeah, fair enough.
- 25:13Speaker 8: How many yards does he have? Well, it's got to
- 25:15Speaker 8: be just over three thousand.
- 25:18Speaker 2: In twenty eleven. Here and this says as a cute quarterback,
- 25:21Speaker 2: it says yards here. I don't know if this counts
- 25:23Speaker 2: both passing and receiving, but under yards for twenty eleven,
- 25:26Speaker 2: it says three thousand, seven hundred and forty four.
- 25:28Speaker 8: Whoa, okay, yeah, yeah.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Here we go. So yeah. Passing, he threw for three thousand,
- 25:33Speaker 2: seven hundred and forty five yards. Eleven threw for sixteen,
- 25:38Speaker 2: thirty eight and twenty ten, so total.
- 25:40Speaker 8: I thought he only had one year, which I guess
- 25:42Speaker 8: that's only one full years.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Receiving, Yeah, and receiving in two thousand and eight he
- 25:47Speaker 2: received for eight hundred and forty four yards six hundred
- 25:50Speaker 2: nine and two thousand and nine, and then one hundred
- 25:52Speaker 2: forty three yards receiving in twenty ten.
- 25:56Speaker 8: I didn't realize that he made the switch in twenty ten.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I thought it was just, yeah, he was a wide
- 26:02Speaker 2: receiver in eighth nine and then a quarterback in twenty
- 26:05Speaker 2: ten and twenty eleven.
- 26:05Speaker 8: Didn't it really, It's kind of crazy, and I don't
- 26:08Speaker 8: think I hadn't fully put this together because you know,
- 26:10Speaker 8: I was pretty young at that time. It's kind of
- 26:15Speaker 8: wild that we went in back to back years our
- 26:17Speaker 8: starting quarterbacks were Ryan Tannehill and Johnny Manzield. Right, that's
- 26:22Speaker 8: actually crazy. That's a crazy going from Yeah, that's interesting,
- 26:28Speaker 8: that's very interesting.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Anyways, hours Caleb got one, two, three, four, five six
- 26:34Speaker 2: correct and Stan got three four correct, So Caleb wins six.
- 26:40Speaker 8: To four w's and the chat anyways dated myself.

- 31:29Speaker 2: praise the ice cream freezer. Yes, that has been gone
- 31:32Speaker 2: for like two or three years, and we finally got
- 31:34Speaker 2: it back. I don't blame you going in on that.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I hadn't.
- 31:37Speaker 8: I hadn't indulged in like a week and a half
- 31:41Speaker 8: or two weeks on these.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Okay, that's fair. You've deprived, which I was gone for
- 31:44Speaker 2: all last week. You've deprived yourself long enough. Yeah, all right,
- 31:48Speaker 2: let's talk a little bit of baseball. Which first off,
- 31:50Speaker 2: did you see the White Sox Pope hat giveaway?
- 31:54Speaker 8: I heard about that they were doing picture.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Yes, the Chicago White White Sox a Pope hat giveaway
- 32:02Speaker 2: in recognition of Pope Leo, who is very out there
- 32:08Speaker 2: as being a White Sox fan. But it's funny because
- 32:11Speaker 2: they realized pretty quickly that that's amazing that the twenty
- 32:14Speaker 2: five hundred hats that they originally stocked would not be
- 32:17Speaker 2: nearly enough. As the tickets went through the.
- 32:20Speaker 8: Roof, everybody wanted for these.
- 32:21Speaker 2: We couldn't remember anything where we had to put it
- 32:24Speaker 2: to forty thousand. That is what the White Sox marketing
- 32:27Speaker 2: chief Brooks Boyer told a throg of reporters Tuesday before
- 32:31Speaker 2: the game. So the team says it has at least
- 32:34Speaker 2: forty six hundred and fifteen hats.
- 32:38Speaker 7: Ryan, have you seen a picture of these hats? Yes,
- 32:40Speaker 7: these are the New Orleansts.
- 32:42Speaker 8: It does actually a little bit, It does a little bit,
- 32:44Speaker 8: But man, this might be the best promotion I've every
- 32:47Speaker 8: That's what I said.
- 32:48Speaker 2: This is like one of the best giveaways I've ever seen. Like,
- 32:50Speaker 2: I wanted one of these and I'm not even a
- 32:52Speaker 2: White Sox fan.
- 32:54Speaker 8: I wanted one of these and I'm not even Catholic.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Pope hat giveaway. Yeah, So I saw that in the
- 33:01Speaker 2: news and I just had to mention that because that
- 33:03Speaker 2: was so freaking awesome.
- 33:04Speaker 8: That is amazing.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Anyways, Astros are about to begin a series with the Mariners,
- 33:13Speaker 2: three game weekend series again. You can hear that game
- 33:16Speaker 2: right here on the Zone. Eleven to fifty pregame I
- 33:18Speaker 2: believe starts at six forty, with the first pitch at
- 33:21Speaker 2: seven to ten tonight. Now, the Mariners have already won
- 33:25Speaker 2: the season series. The last time these two teams played
- 33:28Speaker 2: each other was actually way back in the month of May,
- 33:31Speaker 2: so it has been three months since the Astros and
- 33:35Speaker 2: Mariners met. Seattle won I believe the last game eight
- 33:39Speaker 2: to three, and they have won seven of the eight
- 33:43Speaker 2: games that the two teams have played. Wow this season
- 33:47Speaker 2: eight Yeah. Now, at the time, I believe the loss
- 33:52Speaker 2: that the Mariners handed the Astros sent the Astros to
- 33:56Speaker 2: eleven games under five hundred.
- 33:59Speaker 8: So yeah, those the lowest that we've been.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, the Astros, of course, year after years, seemed
- 34:06Speaker 2: to just find ways to lift themselves up off of
- 34:10Speaker 2: the doormat.
- 34:11Speaker 8: We're vampires this year, they really are.
- 34:13Speaker 2: They won two of the three in the next series
- 34:16Speaker 2: against the Texas Rangers, and then went seven to ten
- 34:18Speaker 2: on a road trip to get back to six under
- 34:20Speaker 2: and stave off the Grim Reaper for the time being.
- 34:22Speaker 2: I like that, that's what this article says. So here
- 34:25Speaker 2: we are Astros atop the division at what sixty two
- 34:28Speaker 2: and sixty yep, right now, went from eleven under to
- 34:32Speaker 2: two over in the three months, and Seattle now sits
- 34:36Speaker 2: in third place at fifty seven and sixty five. They
- 34:39Speaker 2: are eight games under and five out in the division.
- 34:44Speaker 2: So now the roles are kind of reversed because at
- 34:46Speaker 2: the time, it's like the Mariners, for as early as
- 34:49Speaker 2: it was in the season, are kind of burying the Astros.
- 34:51Speaker 2: But now you really have the chance for the Astros
- 34:53Speaker 2: to go out and bury the Mariners if they can
- 34:57Speaker 2: ideally sweep the Mariners, but at the at least win
- 35:00Speaker 2: two out of the three games to kind of help
- 35:03Speaker 2: slam the door on their season. If you sweep them,
- 35:06Speaker 2: you send the Mariners to eleven games under five hundred,
- 35:09Speaker 2: which is what they did to us back in the
- 35:12Speaker 2: month of May, and that would put them eight games
- 35:13Speaker 2: out of the division with just thirty seven games left
- 35:16Speaker 2: on their schedule. So Peter Lambert will be the pitcher
- 35:23Speaker 2: for the Astros tonight, who is eight and six three
- 35:26Speaker 2: h nine ERA but he's been very good on the season.
- 35:29Speaker 8: Definitely most consistent writers.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Yes, one of the brighter spots in the Astros rotation.
- 35:35Speaker 2: He will be taking on George Kirby for the Mariners,
- 35:38Speaker 2: who currently sits at eight and nine with a three
- 35:41Speaker 2: point six eight e R. Now I should look, I
- 35:45Speaker 2: think the lineup should be out. I have not looked
- 35:47Speaker 2: to see who is in the lineup. You're not. Alvarez
- 35:49Speaker 2: has not hit a home run in quite some.
- 35:51Speaker 8: Time July twenty eighth.
- 35:52Speaker 2: But even with that, I mean his ops is still
- 35:55Speaker 2: I have to line up up, oh you do?
- 35:56Speaker 10: Okay?
- 35:57Speaker 7: For the Astros or Manners.
- 35:59Speaker 2: What do we start with? Care about the maror lineup?
- 36:01Speaker 7: Starting is Penya Alvarez, Paradas, Trammel Trammel, Al Tube, our
- 36:09Speaker 7: show Walker Smith and the z Okay.
- 36:14Speaker 2: So it's a solid lineup.
- 36:15Speaker 8: The aging Jordan yeah aaching, he's.
- 36:19Speaker 2: At the number two spot in the lineup. So that
- 36:23Speaker 2: that's what we're looking at tonight. And again, as as
- 36:26Speaker 2: I mentioned the Mariners, they're they're third in the division,
- 36:29Speaker 2: but behind the Astros. Currently still sits the Rangers, who
- 36:33Speaker 2: are two games back, and I need to look up
- 36:37Speaker 2: who it is they're playing tonight they're playing the Athletics,
- 36:39Speaker 2: so the Rangers get a free win.
- 36:42Speaker 8: The A's are fine this year. Hey, hold on.
- 36:45Speaker 7: I thought the same sac thing.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Whatever are forty seven and seventy four?
- 36:50Speaker 8: Yeah, it's fine.
- 36:50Speaker 2: That's a little less than fine they were.
- 36:54Speaker 8: I thought they were going to be good, or at
- 36:56Speaker 8: least contend in this very very first the Angels.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Do you know how bad you have to be to
- 37:02Speaker 2: be worse than the Angels?
- 37:03Speaker 8: They actually below the Angels.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Now, yes, they're half a game, okay, Look to be fair,
- 37:07Speaker 2: they have the same number of losses. The Angels just
- 37:10Speaker 2: have one more win, so they're basically neck and neck.
- 37:12Speaker 2: But yes, right now, winning percentage wise, they are just
- 37:14Speaker 2: a smidge below the angel So this is.
- 37:16Speaker 8: The first time since May or April twenty eighth that
- 37:23Speaker 8: the Angels haven't been in last place.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Well, the Athletics are two and eight out of their
- 37:28Speaker 2: last ten games. The Angels are five and five, The
- 37:31Speaker 2: Mariners are three and seven. The Rangers and Astros are
- 37:34Speaker 2: also five and five. So nobody has a winning record
- 37:36Speaker 2: in this division over their last ten games right now.
- 37:39Speaker 8: Yeah, very very mediocre. The last do you know who
- 37:41Speaker 8: was in the last place? So right now, it's the A's.
- 37:45Speaker 8: Before that was the Angels, and then it had been
- 37:48Speaker 8: the angel since April twenty eighth. Do you know who
- 37:50Speaker 8: was in last place on April twenty eighth?
- 37:52Speaker 2: Who was that?
- 37:53Speaker 8: That would be the Houston Astros.
- 37:55Speaker 2: No surprise there, who are.
- 37:56Speaker 8: Now leading the division. The Astros are forty five and
- 38:01Speaker 8: thirty two since the last time they played the Mariners.
- 38:04Speaker 8: They Yeah, I mean thirteen games, thirteen games above five hundred.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I mean, it's not how you start, it's how you finish, right, Yeah,
- 38:10Speaker 2: there are still haven't finished yet, I know, And there's
- 38:13Speaker 2: still a lot of questions, yep. And the holes that
- 38:16Speaker 2: need to be I mean, I may you thought he
- 38:19Speaker 2: was going to be better and then he went to
- 38:21Speaker 2: be bad, and yeah.
- 38:22Speaker 8: I don't know. I mean he's shown a lot of
- 38:25Speaker 8: flashes and he has some nasty stuff he can be.
- 38:32Speaker 8: He just needs to find some consistency. Yeah. In the
- 38:38Speaker 8: on the farm, the Astros six of their draft picks
- 38:44Speaker 8: are now with the MLB dot COM's Prospect Rankings update
- 38:48Speaker 8: that just came out. Six of their draft picks from
- 38:54Speaker 8: the twenty twenty six draft are now in the Astro's
- 38:57Speaker 8: top thirty prospects.
- 38:59Speaker 2: That's good because needed to build that. That farm system
- 39:02Speaker 2: had gotten really depleted in the recent years.
- 39:05Speaker 8: This is the biggest draft bonus pool that the Astros
- 39:09Speaker 8: have had since twenty fifteen.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yeesh, And that was when Lono was still discharged and.
- 39:16Speaker 8: We had four picks inside the top one hundred. I
- 39:18Speaker 8: didn't realize that. That's kind of wild.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Okay, I'm no. I mean that's good because we really
- 39:22Speaker 2: are getting to the spot where a lot of the
- 39:24Speaker 2: vets are getting old. And I mean Jordan is in
- 39:27Speaker 2: his prime right now, but I mean even the clock's
- 39:29Speaker 2: gonna be ticking on him pretty soon. You would think
- 39:31Speaker 2: within the next how.
- 39:34Speaker 8: Old is he twenty eight nine?
- 39:37Speaker 2: So he's like twenty eight or I think you're about right,
- 39:40Speaker 2: but twenty twenty nine something like that.
- 39:41Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 2: So it's good to have these guys at the very
- 39:44Speaker 2: least for trade, like I if you're not going to
- 39:47Speaker 2: actually bring them up, which I hope we do, but.
- 39:50Speaker 8: Being one of them, yeah, twenty nine. Yeah, he I
- 39:55Speaker 8: think he's on the second to last year of his deal. Yeah,
- 40:00Speaker 8: And I'll be very interested to see what we do
- 40:01Speaker 8: with him as far as an extension goes, because I
- 40:06Speaker 8: know that there's no way they would ever trade him.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Not at this stage of his career.
- 40:11Speaker 8: I could see them trading paina before I could see
- 40:14Speaker 8: them trading Jordan. So his contract's up after twenty oh,
- 40:19Speaker 8: okay after twenty eight, so we still got.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Two more Okay, they got two more years with him.
- 40:23Speaker 8: I'll be interested. So he'll be thirty one.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Although I don't know if you've seen the like the
- 40:30Speaker 2: reports that they're probably not going to be able to
- 40:32Speaker 2: reach a salary cap like agreement with the Players Association.
- 40:35Speaker 2: There's a lot of chatter that we may not even
- 40:37Speaker 2: have a season yaxt year.
- 40:38Speaker 8: No, there's a pretty good chance that we don't. Yeah, unfortunately,
- 40:41Speaker 8: so we might not even get our last year of
- 40:43Speaker 8: Jeremy Painna.
- 40:44Speaker 2: That is truely good. I mean, there is a, like
- 40:45Speaker 2: you said, very realistic chance we have a lockout next year.
- 40:49Speaker 2: So also we hope that that doesn't happen.
- 40:51Speaker 8: But I would like to take a moment. As much
- 40:54Speaker 8: as I hate on Dana Brown for some very questionable
- 40:58Speaker 8: decisions that he had made, one move that I would
- 41:03Speaker 8: say he has definitely come out on the correct side of,
- 41:08Speaker 8: in my opinion at least, is the Kyle Tucker trade.
- 41:14Speaker 8: We acquired three players that have contributed a lot to
- 41:19Speaker 8: our major league team in that deal. Camp Smith, who
- 41:22Speaker 8: has been the starting right fielder pretty much since we
- 41:24Speaker 8: got him. Whether or not he should have been, that's
- 41:27Speaker 8: another question. But he's a young bat that a lot.
- 41:31Speaker 8: I mean, he's been fantastic in right field for a
- 41:33Speaker 8: guy that you know, played infield his entire college career. Yeah,
- 41:38Speaker 8: great athlete. If he can just again with the consistency,
- 41:41Speaker 8: if he can get a little more consistent, he will
- 41:43Speaker 8: be very, very good player for us. But he's already
- 41:45Speaker 8: you know, solid. Estoch Preatis came over in that deal,
- 41:50Speaker 8: one of the best bats has over these two seasons.
- 41:53Speaker 8: He's been absolutely and like last year, I think he
- 41:56Speaker 8: might be our best hitter, might have been our best
- 41:59Speaker 8: hitter because you were done hurt the whole year. And
- 42:01Speaker 8: then Hayden well sure, but I mean that's why we
- 42:04Speaker 8: got That's why we got him, because that's all he
- 42:07Speaker 8: does is hit pool side homers. Yeah uh. And then
- 42:10Speaker 8: Hayden west Nesky who got hurt immediately after we got him,
- 42:13Speaker 8: got Tommy John. But now he's back and he's been
- 42:15Speaker 8: he's looked really good. So Tucker's you know, Tucker's been
- 42:19Speaker 8: fine or Tucker was good for the Cubs last year,
- 42:23Speaker 8: but he's honestly been pretty mediocre for the Dodgers this year.
- 42:27Speaker 10: Uh.
- 42:27Speaker 8: For what you know, the type of money that he
- 42:30Speaker 8: ended up getting paid and the value that we got
- 42:34Speaker 8: in that trade, that's probably the best move that Dana
- 42:37Speaker 8: Brown's made.
- 42:38Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 42:38Speaker 2: No, he he absolutely gets credit for that one.
- 42:40Speaker 8: So I will give him his props for that, especially
- 42:43Speaker 8: since you know, if we end up not making the playoffs,
- 42:45Speaker 8: he's definitely getting fired. So, you know, good job on
- 42:49Speaker 8: that one, Dana. I will say that is that that
- 42:52Speaker 8: was a good trade. I'm I was, you know, sad
- 42:55Speaker 8: about it when it happened, because you know, I didn't
- 42:58Speaker 8: fully understand how cheap Jim Crane was at that point.
- 43:05Speaker 8: But I really think that was a great deal.
- 43:07Speaker 2: And I would like to see if I mean, and
- 43:11Speaker 2: it looks like it is gonna end up being this way.
- 43:13Speaker 8: I think Jeremy Payne is gonna want way too much money.
- 43:16Speaker 8: I don't think I would hate us doing what we
- 43:18Speaker 8: did with Tucker, you know, assuming we even have teams
- 43:22Speaker 8: trading this offseason with you know, the impending lockout. Yeah,
- 43:27Speaker 8: I wouldn't mind going going ahead and getting getting Payna
- 43:32Speaker 8: if if it's a similar return to this, because the
- 43:35Speaker 8: thing about the Tucker trade was it was two players
- 43:40Speaker 8: that had already had major league experience and one that was,
- 43:44Speaker 8: you know, a first round draft pick. So and looking
- 43:49Speaker 8: back on it, it's kind of crazy that we got
- 43:51Speaker 8: two major league ready players that were both you know,
- 43:55Speaker 8: under the age of I think twenty seven, right, and
- 43:57Speaker 8: then also camp Smith. Yeah, so it was a hall
- 44:00Speaker 8: and I don't know that we would get that much
- 44:01Speaker 8: for Jeremy Panya, but I don't think it'd be I mean,
- 44:05Speaker 8: I think Tucker was definitely Tucker then definitely Yeah, and
- 44:10Speaker 8: he's still good, he's still great. But Paya is a
- 44:14Speaker 8: shortstop that can hit, which is always going to you know,
- 44:19Speaker 8: be very very high. So I I think that's probably
- 44:23Speaker 8: the move that I want to see made this offseason,
- 44:25Speaker 8: regardless of how we do, you know, through the end
- 44:28Speaker 8: of this year, I think we need to unless Jim
- 44:31Speaker 8: Crane's going to change his mind about how he wants
- 44:33Speaker 8: to spend money. But even if he does, I don't
- 44:35Speaker 8: know that I want to spend that much money on
- 44:37Speaker 8: Jeremy Payne because his his agent is Scott Boris, and
- 44:41Speaker 8: he's going to try to get as much money as possible,
- 44:43Speaker 8: and I just don't think that's worth it, especially when
- 44:45Speaker 8: we have a couple prospects. Hopefully now at shortstop they.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Can step up.
- 44:52Speaker 8: And the problem is that they're all so far away
- 44:56Speaker 8: from the big leagues. But you know that that's what
- 45:00Speaker 8: I want to see. I mean, you could getting off
- 45:02Speaker 8: of getting off Opina.
- 45:04Speaker 2: You could try and find a rental or something in
- 45:05Speaker 2: the time being, somebody who just kind of filled that
- 45:07Speaker 2: role until they get it up to that point. Anyways,
- 45:10Speaker 2: we're gonna get into the Rangers report on the other
- 45:12Speaker 2: side of that, our final segment of the show, the
- 45:14Speaker 2: police reports that is coming up in just a couple
- 45:17Speaker 2: of minutes right here on the zone.
- 45:18Speaker 1: It was after a hailstorm a few years back. I
- 45:20Speaker 1: needed a new roof. Yeah, I shopped around and then
- 45:23Speaker 1: I found Shorlty Roofing in Point. I'm glad I did.
- 45:25Speaker 1: The folks, said, Shulty guided me every step of the way.
- 45:28Speaker 1: They showed me my options. They told me what my
- 45:31Speaker 1: out of pocket cost would be after insurance. They took
- 45:33Speaker 1: the complication out of an otherwise very stressful situation. They
- 45:37Speaker 1: took off the damage roof, put on the new roof,
- 45:39Speaker 1: did all the clean up, and I had my new
- 45:41Speaker 1: roof in one day, the whole the roof.
- 45:49Speaker 4: On trippor Beck. With your range report, were the Rangers
- 45:52Speaker 4: able to even out.
- 45:53Speaker 8: The series versus the Angels?

- 46:25Speaker 4: Ragers tried to get out of the OC and even
- 46:27Speaker 4: the series with the Angels, but they were unable to
- 46:30Speaker 4: produce much of an offense last night and an unentfal
- 46:33Speaker 4: end to their season series with La.
- 46:36Speaker 10: THEO two pitch strike three call, this game is over.
- 46:40Speaker 8: Wins is going to challenge.
- 46:41Speaker 10: The call, not a challenge the call of front three
- 46:44Speaker 10: crowd not exactly please with that and the pitch was
- 46:51Speaker 10: a strike, then it was a strike? How by several inches?
- 46:57Speaker 10: Why not challenge three?
- 47:00Speaker 2: Go the Rangers in the night.
- 47:02Speaker 10: The Angels have won at seven to nothing.
- 47:04Speaker 4: Rangers get three or four taken from them in Anaheim
- 47:07Speaker 4: and fall two games back behind the first place Astros.
- 47:11Speaker 4: But they'll start a series still on the West Coast
- 47:13Speaker 4: with the Athletics tonight starting at eight forty. I'm Trevor
- 47:16Speaker 4: Beck with your Rangers report.

- 48:15Speaker 2: we mean about dumb people doing dumb things and getting
- 48:18Speaker 2: themselves in trouble with the law.
- 48:21Speaker 8: Happens a lot.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Yes, it certainly does. I guess I will start us
- 48:25Speaker 2: off this week. Where is this from? This is Washington, DC.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Oh boy, we have a suspicious object outside of a
- 48:33Speaker 2: Washington DC firehouse triggered a bomb squad response and snarled
- 48:38Speaker 2: rush hour traffic Wednesday morning because I authorities identified it
- 48:43Speaker 2: as an adult toy. Police were called around seven am
- 48:48Speaker 2: to DC Fire and EMS Engine twenty on Wisconsin Avenue
- 48:51Speaker 2: after an electric device with exposed wires was spotted outside
- 48:54Speaker 2: of the building. Witnesses said the person who left it
- 48:57Speaker 2: had briefly spoken to a firehouse employee before fleeing the scene.
- 49:01Speaker 2: The police Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit investigated the object, shutting
- 49:06Speaker 2: down surrounding traffic until approximately nine a m. A police
- 49:10Speaker 2: report ultimately described the device as an electric portable pupp device.
- 49:17Speaker 2: The individual responsible has not been identified. Caleb I wanted
- 49:22Speaker 2: so badly to give you this story because I know
- 49:24Speaker 2: how much you hate Thanks for me the weird ones.
- 49:26Speaker 2: I decided to have mercy on you this week.
- 49:29Speaker 8: That means a lot to me. We are going out
- 49:33Speaker 8: to the exotic land of Missouri. A thirty year old
- 49:39Speaker 8: man was arrested after he and another person were found
- 49:43Speaker 8: passed out at a kid's playplace Tiger Bounce in a
- 49:48Speaker 8: Bounce House thirty old man in Missouri. He and another
- 49:54Speaker 8: person were found. They were both in a bounce house
- 49:57Speaker 8: when they were found. Both had been unconscious for around
- 50:00Speaker 8: twenty minutes. They were not injured, but they were super high.
- 50:05Speaker 8: Police allegedly found xanax in his vehicle. He initially said
- 50:11Speaker 8: that the pills were his friends, but later admitted they
- 50:13Speaker 8: were his. Said he had a prescription. Charged with felony
- 50:19Speaker 8: possession of a controlled substance going straight from the bounce
- 50:22Speaker 8: House to the big House. Not my line.
- 50:26Speaker 2: I'll have to give that one to the to the
- 50:30Speaker 2: sheet there, but that's a good lie. This one is
- 50:32Speaker 2: out of Phoenix, Arizona, where a man was arrested after
- 50:36Speaker 2: allegedly robbing the Scottsdale Shakeshack where he worked, and then
- 50:42Speaker 2: returning to the same location two days later. KeAndre Simmons,
- 50:47Speaker 2: a thirty three year old man, allegedly entered through the
- 50:49Speaker 2: rear delivery door on August the third, forced a coworker
- 50:53Speaker 2: into a walk in cooler at gunpoint, and directed the
- 50:57Speaker 2: manager to open the safe, stealing approximately twenty eight hundred dollars.
- 51:01Speaker 2: He then destroyed all phones by submerging them in water.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Investigators say his knowledge of these stores layouts, voice, and
- 51:09Speaker 2: physical characteristics helped identify him. Surveillance footage and cell phone
- 51:14Speaker 2: records placed him at the scene. A firearm and cash
- 51:17Speaker 2: consistent with the stolen out were recovered from his home.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Simmons was arrested on August fifth, still wearing his Shake
- 51:24Speaker 2: Shack uniform and held on a one hundred thousand dollars
- 51:27Speaker 2: secured bond.
- 51:31Speaker 8: You know what I was saying earlier about all publicity
- 51:34Speaker 8: is good publicity? Yeah, well, Shake Shack, there's your free
- 51:38Speaker 8: shout out. Yeah, a lesson in practice what you preach,
- 51:44Speaker 8: don't be a hypocrite. State troopers in Arizona arrested a
- 51:48Speaker 8: driver on Saturday. Initially pulled him over for a broken
- 51:54Speaker 8: tail light, but when they talked to the driver, there
- 51:56Speaker 8: were obvious signs of impairment. The driver even admitted to
- 52:01Speaker 8: drinking and driving. A blood alcohol test later showed they
- 52:04Speaker 8: were two and a half times the legal limit. And
- 52:09Speaker 8: the ironic part the driver had a Vanity license plate
- 52:13Speaker 8: on the front of their vehicle that said arrive alive.
- 52:16Speaker 8: Around the edges it said drive sober or get pulled over.
- 52:20Speaker 2: So it sounds like they were not following you.
- 52:23Speaker 8: Messed around and found out, well, we have.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Another drunk person. This is out of Florida. A woman
- 52:29Speaker 2: named rock sand Risotto Risuto Risotto, I don't know. I
- 52:33Speaker 2: got Italian food on the mine now. Was out having
- 52:37Speaker 2: drinks last Friday, supposedly celebrating her brand new Rolls Royce. Unfortunately,
- 52:43Speaker 2: she decided to get behind the wheel, started speeding and
- 52:46Speaker 2: narrowly crashed into a police officer nearly who was parked
- 52:51Speaker 2: on the side of the road. She also straddled two
- 52:54Speaker 2: lanes and started driving in a bike lane. The officer
- 52:57Speaker 2: chased after her and pulled her over. He asked Roxane
- 53:00Speaker 2: about nearly hitting him, and she said it was a
- 53:03Speaker 2: new vehicle and the brakes are loose. She was swaying
- 53:06Speaker 2: and smelled of alcohol. She also admitted to drinking a
- 53:09Speaker 2: couple of glasses of wine and failed a field sobriety test,
- 53:13Speaker 2: so she was arrested for DUI. And it'll be a
- 53:15Speaker 2: while before rox Sand can take the Rolls Royce out
- 53:18Speaker 2: for another spin.
- 53:19Speaker 8: Unfortunate. Also, your name being Roxane and driving a Rolls Royce,
- 53:24Speaker 8: little bit too on the nose.
- 53:27Speaker 2: Yeah, isn't it all right?
- 53:29Speaker 8: Well, we're gonna go from GTA six to GTA five, Florida,
- 53:32Speaker 8: all the way across the country to California, where a
- 53:36Speaker 8: man was arrested Sunday after allegedly breaking into a home
- 53:41Speaker 8: owned by Kim Kardashian in Hidden Hills, California. La County
- 53:46Speaker 8: Sheriff's deputies arrived just before four pm after the suspect
- 53:53Speaker 8: was spotted loading items into a vehicle on the property.
- 53:57Speaker 8: He's also suspected of stealing a car belonging to one
- 53:59Speaker 8: of the Kardashian's staff members. No one was home at
- 54:02Speaker 8: the time. Suspects identity has not been released. Investigation remains ongoing.
- 54:10Speaker 8: Kardashian and then husband Kanye West purchased the estate back
- 54:14Speaker 8: in twenty fourteen, but they are currently living elsewhere.
- 54:18Speaker 2: H I don't know what he's expecting to find her
- 54:21Speaker 2: in there or something.
- 54:22Speaker 8: Crazy things happen in Los Sentos.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Well, we're going back to Florida. This is a dispute
- 54:26Speaker 2: between two Florida men. So not one, but two Florida
- 54:29Speaker 2: men turned violent when both pulled weapons in a Panama
- 54:33Speaker 2: City parking lot. Police say James Gay, thirty five years old,
- 54:38Speaker 2: drove up and confronted ever At Kirkbaum, fifty two years old.
- 54:42Speaker 8: Names right there.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Yeah, they sure are following a verbal altercation. I'm going
- 54:47Speaker 2: to read this as it's printed on the paper. Day
- 54:49Speaker 2: retrieved a machete and struck Kirkbaumb in the face with
- 54:53Speaker 2: the sheet head. How you say that sh e a
- 54:58Speaker 2: t h ed weapon sheathed? Sheathed? Somebody does? I came
- 55:05Speaker 2: very close to us needing the somebody yes, I do.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Kirkbam had brandished a response. During the four thirty pm struggle,
- 55:17Speaker 2: Both men suffered hand lacerations. Gay later admitted he chose
- 55:23Speaker 2: not to leave due to personal pride and struck Kirkbam unconscious,
- 55:28Speaker 2: then stopped him on the ground. Publics the store surveillance
- 55:33Speaker 2: footage identified Gay as the primary aggressor. Gay was charged
- 55:37Speaker 2: with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and held on
- 55:40Speaker 2: a fifty thousand dollars bomb. Kirkbomb faces an aggravated battery charged.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Gay had previously served twelve years in prison connected to
- 55:49Speaker 2: a twenty eleven Florida teenagers killing lots of unpack it process.
- 55:56Speaker 8: Yeah, it sure is sheathed weapons.
- 55:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I need a nap. It's important, said fifty thousand
- 56:05Speaker 2: dollars bomb not bond. Did I need a n app
- 56:08Speaker 2: kirk bond. Well, it's a good thing we're at five
- 56:11Speaker 2: point fifty five because that means it's time for us
- 56:13Speaker 2: to take quick because we don't have much time.
- 56:16Speaker 8: All right. Florida man once again broke into a Jet
- 56:20Speaker 8: Blue aircraft while it was grounded for maintenance. Was found
- 56:23Speaker 8: by the police asleep on the plane by himself, didn't
- 56:29Speaker 8: have a boarding pass, plane wasn't in service, climbed a
- 56:31Speaker 8: fence to where the plane was being worked on, snuck
- 56:34Speaker 8: onto the plane, climbed up the steps, entered through a
- 56:38Speaker 8: unlocked rear door, and he ho It's all caught on
- 56:40Speaker 8: camera camera. It's unclear why he broke into the plane,
- 56:45Speaker 8: but like Ryan, I think he just really needed a nap.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I would imagine alcohol was involved too.
- 56:51Speaker 8: It's possible.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Anyways, that is going to wrap things up for us
- 56:54Speaker 2: here on a Friday afternoon. My name is Ryan, that
- 56:58Speaker 2: is Caleb. I say wrapping up. We're going to take
- 57:00Speaker 2: one more break. We will come back to actually close
- 57:02Speaker 2: out the show. So that is coming up here on
- 57:04Speaker 2: the Zone eleven fifty am and ninety three point seven FM.
