- 0:04[SPEAKER_04]: for breakfast.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome into another episode of Broncos for breakfast.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_03]: I'm your host today, Eric Chocone, joining me this morning is Dylan Von Arx as Nick Kendall is MIA, unsure what's going on.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_03]: I'm hoping everything's all right there.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_03]: Dylan, my man, how are you doing on this fine Friday morning?
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: doing fantastic and I'm just super excited and anxious for tomorrow's game against Buffalo Bills at figures to be a pretty interesting matchup, especially looking just throw the factors in the injury report, but overall very excited to watch them rockers football this week.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I am as well.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: I am.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_03]: Not gonna lie, I'm a little hangover this morning.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yesterday was my birthday and had some drinks last night.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_03]: And so it's things are still a bit foggy, but I'm excited for tomorrow.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: as well for this bill's game and yesterday I was doing watch the last few days I've been getting a lot of not only behind the scenes track for a done but doing a lot of preparation for this game and I put out some articles two articles that are three ways the Broncos can lose this game and three ways they can win and the way that they coincide is actually kind of funny.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_03]: And let me tell you what, even though the bills are the six seed and, you know, the injuries.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_03]: There are a couple reasons why Denver should really be, by least a fan should be really worried about losing this one.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, the team, they're gonna go on with this a lot of confidence.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_03]: And I gotta just to get it right into it.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_03]: The first one is tackling.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_03]: Josh Allen is the lead lead lead lead lead leader in Miss Tackles forced and broken tackles for a non running back.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_03]: James Cook is sixth in broken tackles
- 2:01[SPEAKER_03]: Third, I believe, in Miss Tackles Force and Khalil Shakir is third in Miss Tackles Force for wide receivers.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_03]: They do a great job of forcing Miss Tackles and breaking through tackles and with Denver's record over this, they had, oh, I can't remember how many Miss Tackles that was off taught my head now over the last five games, but it was like almost twice as much as they were, there's season average leading up to that point.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a pretty devastating statline there, especially considering, like you mentioned, all the woes that the Broncos have had on defense, not securing tackles.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen it happen all over the defense at all levels, which is very disappointing, especially with how the season started and how dominant they are.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: I just think back to the Jaguar's game, Parker Washington, especially.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: He absolutely torts the Broncos and even taking short passes for bigger gains than they needed to go.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's how this build team is going to get life, especially with all the injuries, you know, gave Davis down, shivers down as well with knee injury, so they're not going to be playing.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot let Josh Allen James Cook and Clealsh Kier completely break this game open.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: The defense is too good to let that happen now.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: They do need to shore up that tackling of this game could break white open and be quite
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: And we have Donnie, Herman and sometimes sets out of the worst enemy.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_03]: I get your stat guy, but that's not making somebody the sky's falling.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_03]: This is a win-able game, close chest, but win-able confidence goes a long way.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to make it sound like the sky's falling or that, you know, this isn't a win-able game.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_03]: It very much isn't.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to get into why you didn't frickin' win this game.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_03]: I just wanted to get out of the tackling out of the way, because that is one of the biggest reasons why if Denver loses this game, it'll likely stem from the tackling issues they had.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_03]: You mentioned Parker Washington, we're on two miss tackles, both by Rally Moss, he had almost 100 yards after the 100 yards receiving just after that.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_03]: So it's definitely an issue for them, especially with again, how big and physical this bill's offense is or how quick they are in the case of Khalil Shaker in avoiding tackles and getting effort.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't mean Denver can't win this game.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't mean it's not a winnable game.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_03]: It very much is and it's just one of those things that you got to focus on.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_03]: Adele, Adele, Adele, El Sinoci, come in and say, I worry about our defense.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_03]: I have, I worry about the tackling.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_03]: That's why we started off with it outside of that.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't have too many worries.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're going to be able to really focus in on stopping the run and such a messets guy.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_03]: We can look at this.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_03]: The bill's rushing offense.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_03]: It's been a pretty good offense on the year.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos defense has been a pretty good rushing defense.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_03]: But.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: Over the last ever since week 10, the bills defense, they fell from first in DVO8 to fourth, may not seem like it's that big, but it's the gap between first and fourth is bigger than the gap from fourth than like 10 or 15th or something like that.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: And then the Broncos off or brushing defense, they went from third in DVO8 to 15th, which is a smaller gap than the bills gap that between first and fourth,
- 5:23[SPEAKER_03]: than, you know, it's a smaller gap than first and 15th for Russian DVLA.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_03]: So pretty good sign there, but what makes it even more positive for Denver in that aspect is the bill's rushing offense comes through with heavy packages.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_03]: which is where the Broncos defense is actually excelled.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_03]: They've been one of the best defensive Russian defenses in any NFL against heavier packages, which even during that downside, that they had over ever since week 10.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_03]: The bigger issues come when teams are able to go light and continue to have that pass-run diversity and with the injuries that the bills have at Widersever, they may not be able to live in that and just gotta give a shout out.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_03]: to Adele coming in from Brussels.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go to show that, you know, Broncos country, it's not a geographical location, but it's state of being as Chad always likes to say.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: We had the, they're rushing off it and against the Broncos rushing defense.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_03]: As long as they can tackle James Cook, I think the Broncos win that matchup.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, and man, there is a good chance that these guys can, the Broncos that is really stacked the box with the, how light the bills aren't receiving kind of really press James Cook really press Josh Allen from using his legs, because that's what it's going to come down to.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: It was Josh using his legs and James Cook in the run game.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: And the Broncos kind of got bullied last time.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: Their defensive line looked light compared to the, to the bills, but
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: We can't let that happen again.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: The running game is what we need to get going on our side.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: We need to get RJ Harvey going because the bill's rush defense is not so great.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: And while Harvey hasn't been great himself, that's something the Broncos are going to have to commit to.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: And as, you know, people always say, it's going to come down to the trenches.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: That's what's going to, that's what's going to break this game open for either side.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos have to come out better than the bills on that.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, definitely.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_03]: And I have a lot more to get into about the broadcast rushing offense against this bills rushing defense because let me tell you what if there is a game we're getting a consistent run game going is important it is this one will get into why here just second but first we're going to say hello to some more people in the jet.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_03]: We have never looked same morning about to leave the airport to fly out from Salt Lake to Denver.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I hope you enjoyed the game.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_03]: I'm assuming that's what you're doing.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_03]: I absolutely love Salt Lake in area.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_03]: I have a bunch of family that lives there.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_03]: And, man, make the drive.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_03]: I did, beautiful drive, absolutely love it.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_03]: But no, I understand, find it.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's a fun flight to short one.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_03]: We have only Mason, Go Broncos Country, only tomorrow we go one and no.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly, 14 and three doesn't mean much anymore now that you're in the playoffs.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: We have Perry West with a $20 super check coming in.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you Perry.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_03]: We appreciate just saying good morning guys.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_03]: I'm worried about our defense this week, but hopeful the crowd can make the difference.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and on this, make sure if you're going to be at this game, make sure you listen to what Sean Payton said, be allowed when they're in the huddle.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: That's when they are communicating.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_03]: Be allowed when they get lined up for the snap.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_03]: You don't need to be allowed.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, when I was we were there for the.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_03]: giant scheme and even in previous years when we've been there, it's always fans get loud right when they break the huddle and then they kind of quiet down when they're in line.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, no, if you can get loud when they're in the huddle, make it harder for them to hear what is being called, then make it when they're getting ready to set the ball when they're lined up.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: get loud then make it harder for them, try to get the ball start.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_03]: So make sure you're doing make sure you're doing that, make sure you're making it harder for them to communicate making it harder to hear.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_03]: David Vasquez and play a really good zone and Broncos will win.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_03]: There's been some issues with the Broncos running zone Roy Osmeron saying, I hope you had a great birthday Eric.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_03]: I had a birthday.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'll just let leave it at that.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_03]: It was actually fine, there was a big fire actually across the river late last night and I'm hoping that everybody that was there is okay, all the first responders are okay.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_03]: It was a big enough fire that they responded all fire houses within the area, including fire houses that were an hour and a half away, so.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully everybody's okay with that.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_03]: Devast is adding and disguise the blitz.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_03]: That's not really just a fantastic thing, but we'll see.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_03]: We have Todd Olson of St. Hella, Broncos Country, Kirk Shaw saying, hey guys, Mark Kennedy saying, good morning.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: And we have Coach Chris with the $20 Super Chat.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Coach Chris.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_03]: We appreciate that so much.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_03]: Good morning.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_03]: We need long since they drive to keep Alan off the field.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_03]: And when in the red zone, we can't settle for vehicles.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_03]: We need touchdowns.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_03]: I see Brian having a huge game.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_03]: I love the show.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_03]: As you know, hashtag never Broncos for life.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, I've said this multiple times the Broncos issues over the last few weeks of having to settle for field goals and not getting to the red zone that it's concerning, especially even when the offense was struggling earlier on in the season.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_03]: The one thing that they were doing well was executing in the end zone and walking away with that chance of not field goals.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_03]: But that is definitely an issue, and those long sustained drives, that's part of why I get in the running game was going, but there's even more to it, but keeping Allen off the field with how dangerous he is, how much he can will that offense to win and make big plays with needed, anything to keep him off the field as much as possible.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: you're exactly right in this man.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: He was the defending MVP.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: He could be to this legs.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: He could beat you with his arms.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: And when a play seems dead, it's never really dead with Josh Allen unless he's taken to the ground.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: Now that's that's going to be a tall task for the Broncos, you know, especially with the past rush.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: Jonathan Cooper has only had a half sec since the buy Nick Benito.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't have a second for about three or four games up until they play the
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: And they need to find a way to get home.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: You've got paid these guys big money to hunt the quarterback and take them down on out Josh Allen is a different beast.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: He's a different animal, right?
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: But there's no excuses.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: This is the time to be aggressive on defense and make sure Josh Allen's uncomfortable.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's banged up as well.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's not just his receivers and he's I can't remember these
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: they can be had.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: This is not the bill's team from last year.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, have to respect how great Josh Allen has been, but don't fear him.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: You have to get after him as a defense.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and Coach Chris also comes and says I hate when they say Harvey is in great 12 touchdowns.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_03]: One of the highest ranked back with explosive plays.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_03]: issue is the consistency in the success rate.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he was in terms of success rate, which is that down to down consistency stat, he was one of the worse.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_03]: He was bottom five in the NFL on this season for it.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: He did do a little bit better to close up the season and he actually brought himself up from being bottom, maybe he's bottom 10 now.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_03]: But either way, he's near the bottom out of
- 12:40[SPEAKER_03]: So the 12 touchdowns is great.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to, I'm not trying to take away from that.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_03]: And he showed up big when needed as a receiver.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_03]: He's has really shown a lot of improvement as a blocker.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_03]: It's just as they running back, especially after JK dobbins went down, Denver needed him to step up.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_03]: to be that consistent top guy and he has a pen and there's a reason why there's even a conversation going on right now from other sports media.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_03]: We're not having this conversation just to be clear.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_03]: Other sports media that I've seen are in that conversation that if J.K. Dobbins comes back, who do you make an active?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: And they're like, well, you don't make teller but a inactive because of blocking I disagree with that.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: You don't make Juleal McLaughlin inactive because he's doing being so hot running the ball.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_03]: So you make RJ Harvey.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_03]: Again, I disagree with that.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_03]: It would be Tyler McDay because Jacob Darwin's is a blocker.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_03]: Archie Harvey shown improvement as a blocker.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_03]: And Archie Harvey has 12 touchdowns.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_03]: He's still a threat in the past in game.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_03]: He still can be a threat as a runner because of those exposed to plays.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_03]: You just need that consistency for it can't be as boomer buses it has been.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_03]: And it hasn't been a whole lot of boom for him, really.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and Tyler today adds nothing really to his offense.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: You talk about past protection.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: That's all well and good.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: But every third down they seem to swing him out anyway and they bricks the past off his hands.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: So it hasn't been much of an asset this year, which sucks because last couple years, he's shown some signs of being a good back, but really hasn't gotten the touches and when he has had the opportunities has failed miserably.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: And you talk about,
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: RGR, he is very inconsistent, you know, once you get to the red zone, he's been very good and catching passes, but you have to get to the red zone first, and you need to have more consistency out of your own game.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: You can't just trot him out there with his two point, whatever he hurts the carry.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's just not.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: not what you like to see.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I'd like to have Juleal McLaughlin see some more touches this time around just because he seemed to do much more with the little opportunities he gets.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: And RJ is just not there yet and I think it's a vision thing which sucks.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: I know you and me, especially through the draft process really heart on a vision as like a big thing.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: that we are interested in, and RJ just doesn't really seem there quite yet, but hopefully hopefully can get something going against this bill's rush defense.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's not so great.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I want to create myself, I just finally was able to put up.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_03]: RJ Harvey is 17th, low-worse rushing success rate in the NFL this season out of 49 running backs.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_03]: That qualified for it.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_03]: That's better.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_03]: He's got a better success rate than guys like Ash and Gentie, Bucky Irving, Alvin, Camaro, Woody Marks, Cacuan Barclay, Travis at the end, Remandre Stevenson, but his 39.7 success rate is still below the league average of about 45%.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_03]: But it has significantly improved earlier on in the season about week.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_03]: What was it?
- 15:41[SPEAKER_03]: 14, 13, 14.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_03]: It's success rate was under 30.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_03]: So he's actually showed improvement over that the last little bit.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_03]: Bug my assistant happy late birthday Eric.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate that Harvey's been a gym in the
- 16:03[SPEAKER_03]: Before we go on, we're going to just go ahead and get to our presenting spots for tonight.

- 17:27[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it looks like we have a Nick sitting in the background.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_03]: It looks like he finally decided to wake up or hop off the pot or whatever the case it was.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I am.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, I had a technical malfunction.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: My phone died.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: I have a cordless charger and it was not set on it correctly.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I woke up naturally at a 655 and I was like, oh, oh, bleep.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I shook Natalie.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, what time is it?
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: And God bless her because she ran out of here as well.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: So kid was sleeping in too.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: So typically it's not such a thing.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, phone was a.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: phone didn't charge or phone died last night.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully that is not a metaphor for the Broncos, you know, being asleep for the beginning of the game here, but yeah, thank you for setting it up and getting it going.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: And we're here.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: So good to see, um, man, I'm so excited for this game to, uh, Eric, uh, all that's left you take the wheel and I'll all jump in since I obviously missed the game part of the show.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: And here I am, yeah, normally I make the bed too, but not today.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, real quick, I just want to say coach Chris, I got the desktop for Christmas is actually sitting out there and working on gotten you shelving so I'm working on moving like a set around so I can get the desk are have a place to put that but anyways, back to the Broncos in the bills game.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, as I was talking with Dylan to start to show one of my biggest fears with his Broncos bills game is the Broncos tackling issues of late.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I mean, you have five players who are over 10 miss tackles on the season.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_03]: All of them are starters, um, yeah, probably the most talented who found that Alex single to Nick Benito DJ Jones, um, so there's a top five and then you have on the bill side of it, you have James Cook who is six and broken tackles for running backs and third miss tackles for us.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_03]: You have Kulil Shaquer who's third and miss tackles for us and you have Josh Allen who leads the NFL in both miss tackles for us and broken tackles for non for all non running backs.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_03]: Tackling is important in this one.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_03]: It's important in every single game, but against the bills and how physical to be, it's even more important.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: To that point, I think, obviously the Broncos understand that.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they have eyes.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: They're not dumb.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: And.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: My understanding is on Monday, they had one of the longest practices of the year, as well on the longest physical padded practices of the year, three hours.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's what it was and the bill's only had a walkthrough as well.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: And what did the Broncos work for those three hours?
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, obviously there's probably some insulation too, but it was fundamentals.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: A lot.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, it doesn't mean it's going to be fixed by any means, because sometimes it's more, you know, who you are as a team like coaching and practice can only take you so far, but I do think that they understand that that has been a problem and so they're going to work on and have a have a dress as well, but I mean for me, the biggest thing that scares me in this game, I'm sure you guys already talked about it, but
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: personnel has not changed that much from last year to this year and last year that builds just simply leaned on the Broncos.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so Nick Minito is not bigger.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: Cooper is not bigger now that maybe that I don't know about Cooper.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's been cheating a little bit on some business, um, etc.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: But the bill simply just leaned across on the Broncos last season.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: They were washing them out.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so I will be really curious.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the Broncos obviously have watched, I'm sure they've obviously watched that
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: assaulted on the ground.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just like it was literally like we're going to we know what you're going to do and we can't stop it.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully they have a little bit of
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: little bit more ability to stop it because I don't know if the bills can move the ball consistently through the air with their wide receivers right now, especially with explosive.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it really is going to come down to can the Bronco, I mean, talk about a lot on Monday, but can they stop the run?
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because if the bills size advantage that they had in the talent that they have in the run game, it's going to be hard.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the key factor in this one that
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: big runs over the successful runs from the explosives.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: You have healthy linebackers.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Now relatively, but like last year, it was Tron Barton, as well as having Hathanga, that changed things a lot.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: But at the end of the day, it's going to start with the defensive line and their ability to make those runs be two or three yards rather than six or eight.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: And if they can do that, they can win on first down.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: everything falls into place, but if they're getting pushed back and beat up front with the run game, which the bills are obviously going to lean into, and even can happen.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I'll say that one thing that Denver has going for them, you know, the person I was pretty as largely the same outside of who found that in Green Laugh is D.D.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_03]: Jones probably just had the best year of his career as a run defender, Mark Tom Roach as well.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_03]: Zach Allen, John Fink and Myers, all four of those interior divots of mine, and I thank Eric coming off to the best year of the career as run defenders.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_03]: Alex Engleton, he's here, he wasn't in this game last year and he's a key contributor in the running game and then you have Jonathan Cooper and has been a concern, but I think his concerns have been more so with his passionately discipline instead of more so than run lane discipline.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_03]: and then you have Nick Benito on the other side who is still who he is.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_03]: He's just an opportunity, an opportunistic run defender.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_03]: But things are pointing in the Broncos direction to have success there because of those injuries that Widersy were being able to really sell out to stop the run and forcing them to go something to try to figure out something different.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_03]: And good news for Denver is that they're actually better when teams go into heavier packages.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_03]: They're better against the run there and the bills love to run out of heavier packages, especially with Jacks and Hawes, the rookie tight end.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_03]: The lead both wanted in the draft flash here for his blocking ability, but he's the in addition for this rushing offense that still gives me some concern with the Broncos ability to stop the run game.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: And that's one thing, too, about this is it's not like you're in a quagmire, if you will about what personnel and run fits coverages to use because they're explosive on the perimeter or they can spread you out and run it they're going to run 12 22 13 a good bit because they only have three healthy wide receivers and outside of the sugar they're not the good.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, she cares kind of a
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: hybrid, wide receiver tight end with how they use in the slot, how good of a block or he is.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: So like it's not like the Broncos are gonna be run on because they're getting in the light packages, like they're going to get them into heavy and run on them.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a benefit to the Broncos now.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder what that is, Denver gonna be able to guard the tight ends out of,
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: base.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's another question here.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think necessarily they'll be hitting explosives out of it.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I think I'm probably playing more to the down and distance than I am to the matching the personnel and some of that personally just thought right now I'm curious if you have any if you're against that as well.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: But if it's obviously like 36 and they come in 12 like we're matching with nickel.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: But if it's first in 10,
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have to trust our coverage guys and we're going to be playing base because we have to stop the run.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: So it's it's going to be a real interesting matchup for the Broncos.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: I would be really curious and I haven't heard anybody talk about it just how much they have reflected on last season's game and how that went and if they learned.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: anything from that because I know the game was like on the scoreboard close for a while, but like the bills were beaten the Broncos butts.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: If you look at like the success rate between the two, Denver could do anything offensively after that first drive and the bills were moving the ball at a will now.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: low possession game, score can be close.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: So it could be another way for the Broncos in this one.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: There are beaten them and it's close and they should be, I mean, we've seen that the last two weeks, right?
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like the Broncos are beaten the heck out of them, the score is still close.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see, that'll be really, really interesting.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: We got Todd coming in, asking about his Sanders back.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: I know he was activated.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: Was he officially activated?
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: I thought his practice window opened along with Crowle, but they haven't taken him, they haven't activated him off the practice window.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is one of the terminology is really annoying to me because whenever the out open that practice one of the always it's always they were activated off into reserve.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_03]: They have their practice window open.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_03]: They are not active.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_03]: They are both out for this game.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_03]: And from what I understand, Kroll has a chance to, if they advance the championship game, Kroll has a chance to be an input player for there.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_03]: Sanders is just kind of activated just in case of emergency kind of situation where if they suffer an injury, if Greenland suffers a setback with his hamstring, I think is what he's doing with right now, or Karine Reed, suffer a setback with the hamstring injury.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_03]: He's was dealing with, then they have
- 26:24[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't think he gets activated outside of that and his practice window ends right before the Super Bowl so that's kind of what they're looking at there with him.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't think that it's a guarantee he's back and activated fully activate up into the reserve.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: They just kind of open that practice window to give themselves their options.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: injuries happen and he's somebody he's probably better than activating one of your undrafted free agent rookies maybe starting their lineback or I mean he's been in this system three years now so we'll say then cruel I mean I mean he's the world's best OTA player so you got that going for you if he does come back to but you know again probably fourth on the
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: I believe in the past game, and maybe somebody like Atkins, maybe a little bit more athleticism than Trotman at this point as well, but he's more of a red zone kind of open.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think at this point, then anything, just because of the size and some movement skills, but not a good blocker, a little bit linear, not as athletic as Ingram, but in a bigger package.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, we'll see, the real one to keep an eye on here.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: I guess injury front I'm not sure if you and Dylan talked about it again.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Dylan for hopping on and taking the wheel there for a little bit, but The real injury news Eric is obviously J. K. Dobbins.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: He is not back yet, but he had been doing work on the side and their last practice.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: So that is the first time I think anybody seen him actually on the practice field.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a good sign now.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: If the Broncos do beat the bulls and Don't want to put the car before the horse because this is a monument to the challenge.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: in front of Neverty even get to this point, but I think he will be activated for the FC Championship game, but I'm thinking you're probably talking about five, eight touches.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe like very, very small, but that's that's the vibe I'm getting right now is that he actually will be for the FC Championship game if they get that far, but it will be just a super limited touches.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think if they were look at they had a realistic shot at the championship game, his practice went to would already be open.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I mean, it's the next week.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_03]: So get them in there and get being able to get them out there and practicing a little bit more.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_03]: It is a good sign.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't be surprised if they opened his practice window next week.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_03]: And if he does well, obviously, he has that chance of being activated.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it could also depend on how the run game does this week.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: They might, you know, try to push him out there a little bit more for even just the handful of carries.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_03]: I just think I still think it's less than 10% chances out there for the championship game.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: Which is about where I was.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_03]: It's definitely more of the Super Bowl than anything.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_03]: But we have Coach Chris, since we're talking about companies coming off venture reserve, with a $20 Super Chat saying, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Broncos can only bring back two players from injury reserve in the playoffs.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_03]: I assume they are holding one for JK who would be the other.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_03]: That mean one break centers and cool would be out correct.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_03]: you are actually incorrect on this.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_03]: So how it works is during the regular season, they get their eight players that they can call up off of injured reserve.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_03]: Any that they don't use carry over to the playoffs, and they get two extra.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_03]: So you end up basically getting 10 if you make it to the playoffs.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_03]: So Denver has only used four if I remember correctly.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe five now.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_03]: So they still have another five that they can still use for it.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_03]: So they still have plenty of it to get all of those guys back.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_03]: Unfortunately, we also got confirmation that Brandon Jones is on for this season.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_03]: Right, I don't know if we've had a chance to talk about that.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_03]: But Sean Peyton used, I would be said that he'd be surprised if he came back this year.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_03]: So definitely not, but Luke Quattonburg sounds like he will be back for next week, most likely.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: from some things that I've seen, some conversations I've had, JK Dobbins, we were just talking about.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_03]: Sanders and Cole.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was a good chance.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_03]: Cole is back next week, just because to jump back into that, he offers more as a receiver than Adkins and Troutman, and even though he is a terrible blocker, he offers more as a blocker than Evan Ingraham does.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_03]: So he kind of offers just a little bit more in that Ingraham role where Ingraham has obviously not loaded up to expectations.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm with y'all that and shout out to Coach Chris.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much to all our super chat coming in here two times this morning.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: So really do appreciate your air.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: I did have a few questions.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to ask you as well, Todd saying Brandon Jones being out to a loss.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: It is good thing PJ Lock is not on the injury report.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: So that's good to get him back.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we got Ozart Covenants on a fixed day in Chapman's blocking during screen passes.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's not exist, and I don't see it getting better burst buffalo.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you don't have to, you come to the right place, especially for Eric for being frustrated at, uh, Troutman.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: They need a white-eyed end to update it.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you saw Dallas Scott or it had like three touchdowns in this playoff game or something, that's like, yes, give me, I know he's older, but like, to your contract.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Bring in Dallas Scott or I'm gonna end joke or something like that.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: Just one of those guys that it can actually function out of why, while still bringing a little bit in the past game.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, even Sean Payton took a dig at trauma and in the end after the regular season, saying, like, we needed five more catches.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: You ever did that in a year, paraphrasing, but Erica did have a few questions for you as we're starting to grab it up here.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure it's definitely talked about before, but I wanted to get your take on it.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: So if the Broncos win this game, who's going to be the MVP of the game for the Broncos?
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: Zoom in they win.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad you asked because I, when I was talking with Dylan, I kept hinting about wanting to get into this more.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_03]: If never also win this game, they need RJ Harvey to be the MVP of this game.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_03]: And the reason for that is actually simple.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_03]: It's not just about what he does, it's about the changes he forces with the bills defense.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_03]: So the bills defense, I love to sit in a cover to split field to a high defense.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_03]: And they love to dare teams to run in that, which they've not been great.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_03]: They've been one of the worst run defenses in the NFL this year.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_03]: I don't agree.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: And the issue with that is Bo Nix really struggles with those split field to high coverages that teams look at, especially those that leave the mid intermediate, the 10 plus intermediate energy to the field vulnerable like the bills do.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: So Denver needs to get the run game going because when teams had get run game going and I can't remember who it was, but I saw one of the defensive minded guys break this down.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_03]: And he was saying that once teams get to about something, depending on when it's like
- 32:53[SPEAKER_03]: If teams get to like 75 rushing yards in the first half, the bills exclusively play cover three and that's like an half or something to that effect.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: But anyways, the overarching point was when teams run the ball, bills change to cover one or cover three, which is something that Bonix has done well against.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_03]: And it's actually the two coverage is that he does his best against.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_03]: So Denver needs to figure out to get that run game going because not only can it run game help sustain long drives, help people to add it to the sticks.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_03]: It also is going to force the bills to change up what they do defensively and make things a little bit easier for bone eggs in the past and game to help keep control of the game.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_03]: So if Denver wants to win this game, it has to be RJ Harvey.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't have to be in the glove zone.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_03]: Or McCoff and the RG Harvey because even though the bills do well in they're like the third or fourth best team in handling running backs out of the backfield and coverage.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_03]: They showed some weaknesses there against the Jaguars and some of the injuries that they're dealing are definitely impacting that.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_03]: Joy and Poir are being out as a big one for it.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_03]: Terrell Bernard also not being back in the replacements that they have to keep rotating in and line back or hurt that.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_03]: So they've actually been more susceptible over the last like four weeks to running back out of the back field.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_03]: So I go with I went with Harvey because of what he can do as a pass catcher.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_03]: We don't really see that from Joe Luma Gloffen.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: But so I would say him but McLaughlin also needs to be a part of that Denver has to get a run game going is basically what I'm trying to say I got you yeah for me I'm going to go with the addition changing the math for the Broncos and Hafanga being the MVP I think he's finally going to come away with a turnover and this one and I think he is going to deliver some pain.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the bills are going to be able to work the ball vertically as much given the type of weapons that they have.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: So that means the Tasmanian devil as he plays out there in a Fonga has a chance to really make some splash plays.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm hoping force fumble, strip sack, interception.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: just some big hits.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he brings an energy that I don't think this Broncos team will lay down and struggle against the run like they did last season.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it starts up front, but I'm going to go with the Fanga as the MVP there.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: What is your Broncos biggest concern in this one?
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: You said your MVP if the Broncos win was that, but my biggest concern is Harvey in this one coming in just because as everything you said, he has not run the ball.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this season, he's been a really
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: useful player because of what he's done in the past game, but right now he just sees he's not there yet the game speed, pick in the lanes how to attack different creases when to go what he sees is just not there right now game doesn't seem like it slowed down for him there maybe it never will but right now is not a good runner of the football down to down and that makes him the biggest concern for me because.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: to bills are going to invite Denver to run the football.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to play a very, you know, put a number on top of the coverage.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: And that means Denver has to take advantage of that and force them out of that.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: So my biggest concern, and I didn't give you the list.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: So you probably would have put it to Harvey.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe here as well.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: You can say him again too, Eric, but he's my biggest concern.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: He needs to, he needs to show up.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_03]: Now, real quick with Hufaga, I want to say that I'm glad that you mentioned him because I absolutely love his comment that he made about wanting to play the bills because he's like, that's what he's like, I wanted him after you play him with a lost, you know, your angry about it.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_03]: You go, even though I wasn't here, I'm angry about the loss they had now.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_03]: a year ago.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_03]: And I like that mindset and you know, he just always has such a good mindset when I comes to playing defense and always seems to be so focused.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_03]: So good.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_03]: You mentioned him.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_03]: If, you know, I agree with you in terms of defensive MVP, it definitely needs to be him and being a difference maker that they brought him in to be.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_03]: But again, it's just got to go back for me.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_03]: Jessica back to getting the offense going and my biggest concern is going to be RJ Harvey as well.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_03]: It's if they can't get this run or I should say run game in general because if they can't I really struggle to see Bonyx getting going just because of what he has done against his split shell coverage has not been great.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_03]: He's actually if you make it specifically against that.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_03]: He's been the worst.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_03]: quarterback maybe second worst quarterback in the NFL against these split field coverages and it's not even close.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like he's not even close to being, you know, in the top half or outside of the bottom 10 or even the bottom five, he is far in a way, one of the worst.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_03]: And so it's if you can't get that run game going and get it to where you can alleviate that pressure after quarterback in his only second playoff start against a very experienced playoff
- 37:32[SPEAKER_03]: they do despite all the issues with defense.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_03]: They actually have a pretty good passing defense.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_03]: So you got to do whatever you can to do that.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: So if Denver cannot get that run game going, I will be
- 37:44[SPEAKER_03]: worried all game long and hope that po and X is able to buck the trend and be able to find figure it out and maybe the extra rest and extra time to prepare for this were ready for it.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_03]: So it is, it's got to be the right game just because of the domino effect that it has with everything else within this offense.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what Renaissance
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: If you're talking about us, I mean, I don't think we've said a negative thing about the bills here on this one.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he's just saying in general, I admit and the algorithm untwitter, you know, this is what you want to see in front of it.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen Bill's fans say, and like this is the most enjoyable fan base we've dealt with in multiple years, so I mean, there's always, you know, some annoying fans, but yeah, it's hopefully not an issue, but thanks for coming in Renaissance Man, hopefully a good game if you are a Bill's fan coming in here and keeping it going here, we got the, I want to ask you the biggest dark horse difference maker.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: also for this Broncos game.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: For me, I think it's going to be... Man, I've been leaning in between a few of them.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's got to be Morgan Mims on that one for the Broncos because of the exposed, it's going to be really hard to create explosive plays for the Broncos.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think in general with the umbrella coverage of the bills play, and also you got the special teams.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: Ability as well on Mims.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we've seen him, he's not going to be a volume player by any means,
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: But the trickeration in the run game, especially in Zader and the explosiveness in the past game, may be some yak screen ability underneath as well.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: Marvin Mims is definitely my Dark Horse difference maker from this game.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_03]: Marvin Mims is a good one.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_03]: Monty first mentioned that he was one like a pop to mind, just because I know the bills are not great on coverage.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: They definitely have a weakness there, and so Marvin Mims is a good one.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to go with Riley Moss actually with this one with the way that the with the receivers that they have and earlier we had somebody talk about you know Denver playing zone.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_03]: This is a game they should play.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: Man, Josh Allen really struggles with man coverage.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_03]: He is bottom five, I think, in DVOA against man coverage.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of, you know, the other metrics, the success rate, the completion percentage of the pass rating, all those in on target, throw percentage, turnovers, basically everything is bottom five, bottom 10 for Josh Allen against man coverage.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_03]: And so with Patch to Tan, obviously, I think that with the quality of receivers that they're dealing with, I think that they're going to, you know, probably try to focus him on tight ends, or maybe Khalil Shaker.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_03]: So I think this is a big one for Riley Moss and really wanted to bounce back because of all the issues that he had.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_03]: Again, I talked about it earlier with Dylan.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_03]: The mist tackles that went for almost 100 yards against the Jaguars on on two mist tackles from him.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_03]: The, you know, ever since he put on boxing gloves, he's losing his assignments a little bit more.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_03]: There's been more coverage busts with him over recent weeks, including a one a big one in that Jaguars game.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that he is going to want to essentially flip the script with the narrative about him and go out there with this one and capitalize on what may be slightly better match up for him with, again, with those quality of receivers and go out there and try and play big.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_03]: One concern though is that the Broncos are the whores, passing defenses when it comes to non-number one, or number two receivers.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_03]: So the other guys receivers they are are concerned there and Basically the bills receiver core is Kudel Shaker who's one or two and then a bunch of other dies Yeah, okay, Eric now.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna ask I got a few more here that I wrote up last night So I was didn't mean to get here late, but I'm not good off on the chat guys
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: come on.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_01]: Dad's not happy.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: I want the matchup of the game.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: So Bill's player versus Broncos player, what's the one that you're really keen in on on this one?
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say mine first and you could lead it to the other side if you want, but I think it's pretty obvious to me looking at this, but it's the Broncos adressures versus their tackles because of the size difference.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: 315, I'm sure he's bigger than that, 320.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: And he got the Broncos address was planned there, you know, 250, maybe.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: So you're talking about a 70-pound difference and we really felt that last year in the game.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll go specifically, I'll go specifically beneath Oversus Dawkins.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: If you remember Eric, I love Dawkins come out of that draft.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm happy to see that he's done well.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: Second round pick, I think it was, was he in that bull's draft?
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Or was he in the draft after or before?
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm really good out of temple.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: I had a really good career heck of a run blocker.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: But again, Broncos doing your work on first and second down, they have an advantage on the defensive line on first, on the offensive line on first and then because they're so big.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think that if you can win those early downs, you can do some exotic stuff on third and long and get after them.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you remember the Falcons bills game, the season with the Falcons are lighter as well.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: Up front, I don't know if they have a guy
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: And they're very blitz oriented and they beat the absolute heck out of the bills, but they did well on first and second down and cook cook still got some of his, but they're really to able to game up some matchups to the past rush and get after Alan.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to go at Dawkins versus being here.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: I could have just as easily gone brown versus Cooper, but I think that is the key matchup of the game.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and Doc gets well as he was the second to last pick in that 2070 and the other second round in that 2070 and I will draft.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, really I remember you know, absolutely fond and go over him as well.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, man, this is tough because I do I do five key matchups on both sides of the ball every single week.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's one of my pre games stuff that I do and there's a lot that you can pick from in this one.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_03]: Can I cheat and say Sean Peyton versus Sean Rick Dermett?
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, that is, yes, yes, you can, I love it, say more.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_03]: All right, great.
- 43:53[UNKNOWN]: Again.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_03]: The right game.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_03]: I cannot under, I cannot understate the importance of getting a right game going in this one.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_03]: Sean McDermott, I think he's a good defensive coach.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's a really good defensive mind.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think what he does, especially with the way he disguises coverage, I mean, you know what he's throwing at you and you still can't read it pre-snap because he disguises it so well.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_03]: And it's very frustrating.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_03]: When I was going over my film study for the bills this week, it was so frustrating trying to figure out what they were going to be doing on any given down.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_03]: Even though you knew that it was going to be 99% of cover 2, unless the team was going to fall down, it was going to be cover 1, or cover 3.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_03]: So Sean Payton has to make sure that he gets not only Bo and Nick's ready, but he has to make sure he's ready for this.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_03]: We've seen it time before and he made a joke about it.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to run the ball on his play sheet this week.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_03]: He made some joke about it like he did in the Charger's game.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_03]: Well, here's the concern he knew is in that Charger's game, they ran the ball eight times for a point when they had a lead and going into the early and it's like in half.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_03]: So they didn't run the ball even though he wrote it on there.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_03]: And it became such a joke here.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_03]: He can't get away from the run game too quickly.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_03]: He's got to get whatever the issue has been in the red zone.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_03]: He's got to get that figured out.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_03]: We went from where the offense was struggling between the 20s, but doing really well in the red zone to where they're doing really well between the 20s, as well as getting some breaks with poverty turns in a couple of takeaways over the last few weeks.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_03]: And then struggling in the red zone, being unable to reliably punch it in.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_03]: He's got to figure that out.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_03]: There is so much for him that he's got to figure out with this offense with their not just the play calling issues that he started to show, but the execution errors that are going on.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_03]: And figuring that out.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_03]: The run going back to the run game here, the bills, the two run types of runs that they do the worst against.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_03]: They are both bought, they're about on five and both these, man blocks and outside zone.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_03]: Those are the two that the Broncos won the most and they run them quite well.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_03]: So then again, run the ball, help out your quarterback.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_03]: And then when it gets to the past game, make sure you have your quarterback coached up on how to read the defense, what are the keys and make sure that you're calling the place to properly attack them based off of what coverage they seem to be going and look into their tendencies.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_03]: The tendencies, what they do against the run and how they change up the coverage is based off that.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: One final thing we have to talk about, I'm hardly at all, but it's probably the most important thing for the Broncos.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: We just need to talk a little bit of Bonax.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: So what is the one thing that Bonax has to do in this game for the Broncos to win?
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: I obviously, unless he comes out and plays like that Packers game, the discourse around him is not going to dramatically change.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't expect, but still, he's the quarterback.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: He probably is the most important factor of this game.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like if he plays like he did against Packers Denver,
- 46:35[SPEAKER_01]: probably there's enough talent to manage and to healthy enough to beat the bills, but I wanna hear what you think about bonus.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_01]: What's the one thing that he has to do in this game or walk away like statistically?
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you did this, Denver wins.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's probably easy to say, you know, not turn the ball over, that's an easy one.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's not leaner to that one.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's obvious.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think there's two things.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, good.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: The intermediate middle part of the field, especially against this field coverage is because the bills leave that pretty much wide open and it's only gotten worse with the injuries with this up to linebacker and uses legs.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_03]: The bills are averaging almost 10 yards per carry to quarterback sprambles.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_03]: Because they just don't account for them and it's consistent even if they are playing quarterbacks who use their legs a little bit more they just do not account for them once they get out of the pocket they don't make that shift in there with their defense to take in that consideration it's like 9.3 yards per scramble average on the season against them so uses legs when he gets out of the pocket don't be afraid of it.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_03]: Um, not only be, you know, with how bad they are, but just how much I can fire up those around you.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_03]: So with the Broncos are struggling on offense, turn to your legs, help use that to motivate other people.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_03]: Be smart about it, of course.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_03]: Don't put your body at risk, don't take the unnecessary hits.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_03]: So I think I think those are the two things that we really need to see out of bone eggs with this one.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_03]: Use those legs, especially when, you know, the opening is there and attack the intermediate of the field.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_03]: Um, if you can't get if the run game can't get going to where they switch up their defense,
- 48:03[SPEAKER_03]: You got to be able to hit the intermediate field earlier.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was Coach Chris came in with a super chat talking about a big game for Pat Bryant I think this could be a big game for Pat Bryant because of what he can do in that intermediate area of the field and quote in something as well.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: I love it for me Bone X is ability to convert on third downs to keep the offense on the field is going to be key now granted probably more so more important happens on first and second down in general from the offense, but
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Bonus, we've seen the last few games.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: His ability to use his legs and BA athlete in space.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: And the bills right now, I mean, they are, they're not the best on the second level.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you have Matt Milano, but he's, wasn't at all pro, ever.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's decent linebacker, but he's had injuries a little bit.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_01]: And then you have Shack Thompson, I'm actually showed up on the injury report this week, plan out there at linebacker as well.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: So there's,
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're speedy, but they're small.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm hoping that Bonyx with his athletic ability and some space can shrug off a few tackles at the second level.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_01]: Now, obviously you want to protect yourself, but there's going to be eyes on the quarterback of the defense they play.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping that he can use his athleticism to buy some time and create on those third downs and pick up.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just barely getting to the pile on the bottom of the sticks counts.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: So Bonax, third down, you won't necessarily call it magic, although he does have that ability, but the creativity to extend plays and convert on those third downs, staying on the field, chewing up the clock and keeping the bills and Josh Allen off the field.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: for the Broncos last season.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: And one day, you can help against a run off-ense that is bigger than you and more physical than you, size-wise, come me down hit on you repeatedly is give them less reps, keep it on the side of the field.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: Tire their defense out, keep their offense cold.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: So obviously, third down key, red zone key, turnover ski, how are they going to manage to create explosives in this one?
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: Eric, I do worry about that as well.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I trust Sean Payton, but with how the bills play,
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: Can you run the ball well enough to get them out of defenses where you can then hunt exposed subs.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be such a chest match, but a lot of fun.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you guys for holding down and setting up the show as my alarm failed to go off.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: Phone still dead.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully my wife isn't texting me like crazy, but I'm your guys here for the next three minutes.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: Two minutes as we read us on out shout out to Pierre Perry West coming in here.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, Coach Chris a couple times.

- 51:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully everyone has a good weekend in joints.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'm kind of glad that Broncos put the first game Saturday because we don't have to have the anticipation of like waiting.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like I just let it happen.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: And also if Denver wins, maybe it's a slight advantage.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: You get one extra day versus what's probably
- 51:25[SPEAKER_01]: with Houston versus the Patriots, but gotta take care of business at home first.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: Gotta take business at home.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, appreciate everyone.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_01]: Eric, any final thoughts?
- 51:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, actually, I just had one thing, or actually two things.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_03]: One, I mentioned Nick's scrambling in the bill's defense, 9.4 yards, it's two yards more than the second lowest.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_03]: That's how bad the bills are, gets that.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_03]: And it's like, one, I just wanted to get your opinion on this real quick.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_03]: It's not with the, it doesn't deal with the bills game, but it deals with coaching staff stuff.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_03]: I know you and I we've talked privately about this, but there's a lot of talk about Jim Leonard and Manchester both leaving the broadcast this year either Jim Leonard following going to Dallas or going to the New York Giants.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_03]: He seems to be a finalist to be Jim Hart or be Harba Jim John, whichever Harbud is I can never remember which is which Be his defensive coordinator there.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_03]: Are you worried at all about different potentially losing both these guys.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not potentially worried about Denver losing both.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now, would it be somewhat unfortunate?
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but there is a lot of good defensive coordinator talent available and the Broncos have a lot of defensive talent and a pretty well-run ship now.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe some people would be deterred by working with.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Payton, but I mean, we've seen he's had two defensive coordinators now rise up to become head coaches and he also, he had a type of defense that he wanted to run and he listened advanced Joseph and his defensive staff and allowed them to change it following that 70 to 20 Miami loss three years ago.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now, yeah, three years ago, isn't last year.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that, you know,
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: Morris from Rahe Morris potentially being in an option, you got Anthony Weaver out there, Patrick Graham was fired, but he I've really liked what he's done with very little talent pretty much everywhere he's gone to sure there's a few other names that I'm missing as well Eric, but if you ended up losing both those guys like what I
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I don't think Denver let's Leonard walk out the door unless they're okay with letting Leonard walk out the door assuming dancers get to head coaching spot and there's other there's a defense of talent available.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll cross that bridge and worry about it when we get to it, but Denver I think is going to be fine there and I it's you're going to have to have a little bit of turnover and change anyway with VJ leaving and probably taking some coaches with them.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: worried about it.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm not either.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_03]: Um, in terms of Jim Leonard, the sense I've gotten is that he's may not be the in house favorite to replace Frances of anyways.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_03]: They definitely like him and they definitely want to keep him around, but I don't sure it was necessarily as defense coordinator, not yet anyways.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_03]: Definitely a lot of defense guys out there.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad you mentioned Patrick Graham.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_03]: I would absolutely love him with the work that he's done there with the Raiders and how infuriating he can be.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_03]: One one name that I've seen and I've seen conflicting reports on this.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen somebody say that his his contract was only one year.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_03]: So when his team gets eliminated from the playoffs, he can be a pinch of potential defense coordinator.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_03]: Again, I also seen Denver potentially trading for him as a dude with coordinator of his contracts on up, and that's then this Allen, I hope to God it's not a trade if they do want to go that way because trading for a head coach is fine.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_03]: It's worked out well for Denver ready for a coordinator.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_03]: Hard no on that one.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: Although,
- 54:52[SPEAKER_01]: I will say if there's a year to do it, it's this draft.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, draft is pretty stinky.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think right now, whoever demos going to be picking at 26 through 32 range, it's probably somebody that would have gone like 50 last season.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's the, the mocks are always going to be like, God, I don't know what to do.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: I hate all of all of the options, but you know, it is, it is what it is.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_03]: We trade down.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or trade for a vet.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_01]: God.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's the move.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate everyone.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: Have a good rest of your day, man.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's here.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm nervous.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_01]: Eric, it's frozen on a really good face for you, too.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: You look like you're just like, okay.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, now it's your back, but you look like you're really enjoying what I was saying.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_01]: So that's great.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's normal.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: But appreciate everyone.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: Have a good rest of your day.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: Be the bills.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_01]: Go Broncos.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know over to milehighhuddle.com for all things, Broncos.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_04]: Morning, Rocco's Country.
