The Bible tells us that God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7), and Jesus himself said that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). Indeed, the very heart of the gospel flows from the generosity of God who gave his only Son, and of Jesus who laid down his life for us. Which is why the habit of generosity is vital to a healthy soul.
